Rinat Catching a Duck in Bolivia, Driving in Israel, and Encountering a Bear
"I'm neat and i'm taraji. And today's driver is were not the co host of the ticket. Podcast and she is originally from and she's lived three years in the us before moving to canada where she's been for two years and she shares with us the differences she has seen driving in israel versus driving in north america. Welcome or not. Thanks so much for joining us today. Thank you and buffoni for inviting me. We liked starting off with this question because we like to go straight into the crazy before we dive into what type of driver you are. So what would you say is one of your craziest driving stories. Oh so i have a story. Or i wasn't a driver by i was riding on form by four in the lower. The uni in bolivia we were may be for france and we. We had a driver and cook and it's riser was driving in the seller. Salardu unit is Salt desert so it's a big surface off desert which is just made of salt and the driver was adjust. He navigated with no roads on or anything and one time we so tax on the road and the driver was approaching them very very slowly. Be an added. The back without Is so considerate. He doesn't want to frighten the dax but then when he got close to them you started to drive really fast and any coat one dark and he give the cook the dock and he said she's gonna make that for dinner and it was. I'm not sure it's funny. Maybe it's kinda freer carry kind of funny and but it was definitely experience that the i remember well. Do you stop the car with you in it to get the duck. Yes i stopped the car. He pulls the dock caught him on his neck. And just give it to the cook. I think because his wife and it was kind of Multiple day. I don't remember three or four days trip. And we had we had meals during the that's rape and the wife just cooked food for us and no one from my group a dinner that night at least knock back. That's that's hilarious. I mean what a surprising. Turn of events like oh. He's so nice. Oh no he's going to eat it. Yeah yeah it was really surprising. How is it driving on a desert compared to like just driving on the road we were wondering how did he navigate. Because it's really. It has a lot of mean i mean. It's very big dessert. Like think about that. We drove their into desert for a few days. So i'm not sure how big it is but it's really big so we were wondering how he navigated and how he couldn't find all the things that we saw the way because there were like lakes in different colors like amoroso lake and red lake and they were keno obnoxious that he showed us em and there were. There was a village in that word. The places that we slept in slept now like assault motel so we were wondering. How did he manage to find. All the stinks. Because if if you look all around you you just see white surface so you don't really see any reference point to help you navigate and there were no roads on their on the desert. Yeah that's what. I was wondering like everything's way. How do you know where you're going. I would end up like back at your starting point. It's like oh how they get here. Yeah it's a good good question. Yeah we wouldn't be able to do it by ourselves. Or i feel like i would get lost in the be stuck in the middle of nowhere and be like. Oh now so. I know like a lot of other countries outside the. Us tend to have. I feel like. I've heard that they tend to have more crazier drivers in bolivia. Did they. like. I guess abide by driving traffic laws or did they kind of just speed and do whatever they wanted to do. So in the salt desert most of the times. We didn't see anyone around now. The other places of been to in bolivia are easier a small towns or a big city. And i guess s most places have been to that. The drivers in the big city are more careless. I think more maura beeping and thanks dad. You have mentioned that you have lived in three different countries. What one

What next-gen consoles really mean for audio
"Up on it moving on from there. Let's discuss three d audio for second is covered this. I'll probably do a video but dax on the ps five and on the xbox they do work it's crazy. They worked very well. They're very loud dax or again digital analog converters they take a digital signal from your usb that's pipe from the console into this chip and the chip then translates it into something you can plug your headphones into some better. Some are worse. The nice thing about bow systems is they work overall. They seem to pump out the right amount of volume which was an issue with the past consoles in particularly the ps four. I was also question. Does three d audio play through those as well as the tempest. Three d audio engine. Play through your deck and give you those upgrades it absolutely does. Let's talk about three d audio just for a second three d audio slightly weird on both systems on the xbox they do have a hardware chip for three d audio. It's very very impressive chip. But they didn't name and didn't bring it forth as something to really discuss where sony called. There's the tempest in gems and it is very powerful additionally you also have software kinds of systems. Dt s. you've got at most different support for those as well and what these do what they're supposed to do is not only help you with your normal stereo separation and you're channeling but with atmos in particular and others that are full three d. It's supposed to make you feel like the audio is coming from very different points in the game world and not just discreet left indiscreet right or somewhat muddy left in somewhat muddy. Right now the past systems did have some support. Like i said for. Disd ex As well as at most on the xbox on the ps five. You can't get this through. Hdmi be aware that the only way to get the three d audio effect that they're going for is through. The headset plugged into the controller. Or a deck. Why bring it. We'll because it's not the greatest right now spiderman has some okay three audio but the best one is probably call of duty when i was playing call of duty with the three audio both on the xbox and on the ps five which i gotta admit were about identical in their quality. I didn't really actually feel like the. Ps five was much better. In fact. I've talked to multiple people who play both and i don't think anybody does the for example in the second part of the first level. There's a helicopter that flies over your head. And if you have all the three d audio setting set on if you have a nice stereo system or headphones for the xbox or if you have your headphones or adapt for the ps five. It really does sound like that helicopters above your head. There's some really nice of the three and some effects which i'll start covering more reviews but as it stands right now. The big question is is the three d audio a feature that you're missing or a feature that they missed and i would personally say at this time. It is a feature that they have missed. We have not seen a jump in the three d audio really paying off yet. I'm sure we absolutely will. As these companies come more to grips with what's going on and everybody sort of gets out of that emergency panic mode which we see right now. Where a lot of these companies are just trying to get their games out there so that people can play them. I'm a big fan of three the audio. I think it's great. I have the three d. pulse from sony. Which by the way. A lot of people were assuming. That was a special headset. You need for the sony playstation five. You don't you do not need that headset. that's a normal headset. there's not anything like magically special. That's a branded sony headset. That they've made some adjustments to nevertheless a normal headset will work as long as it's not super high power requirements is long as you plug it into the controller or the dak. You will get those. And i think you should try it. You should definitely play with those and adjust them with the xbox again h just works looking at and sort of stepping away and looking at three d audio. there's an excellent gamasutra and g. d. c. video on on youtube game developer conference where you can read about gears of war and the three d audio there. If you want to really hear how three d audio is done well in a game go check that video out. It is a longer video. It's like forty to fifty minutes. But they cover everything from clues in sound reverberates bouncing different layers discreet abilities for particular surfaces to eat up sound phenomenal job in that video. You should definitely check it out gears of war.
There's no way to move PS5 games off the SSD
"See what we discuss first. Let's just go down the list for ps five. So i do want to say if you are somebody who is easily offended please. Just don't stick around. Because i that's not how i work and i get it that we have people that come into the channel for these guys and who maybe are accustomed to the way i talk which is like a lot of jockstrap humor and shit. But i'm not going to sit here and lie to you about any system or at least what i consider lies just going to tell you exactly what i think of them. And what. I what i like dislike and that doesn't mean you will feel the same way. It's just exactly what i think about these things. So just wanna prepare people. Because i said this in the video my thoughts are very divergent. Compared to a lot of other people and i'm not saying they're wrong and i'm not saying i'm right but i'm almost saying that and i do. I wanna talk about this and see if you guys believe a couple of things that were seen is just what we've seen in the past in reflection of hyperbole or if i'm wrong so we'll begin first thing i'm gonna talk about you. Get this system. Ps five we're going to talk about for secret ps five. I'm going to do a video on this if you don't wanna be spoiled about the ps five. Looks like which would be weird. You can wait for the video but we're going to talk about this. I get this thing home. And first of all i just have to say man. I don't care what anybody says. It's fucking ugly the. Ps five is horrendous. It's like a kid who worth fire. Bridgeton could ruin at a router company and then watch lord of the rings like ten times in a. That's just the way it is. Do i care no. I don't care at all. it's it's funny. We can tease it. But i played the dreamcast played. The game cube game cube was a fucking cube. Like that's all it was. It's not these things for an artistic representation. I don't want it to look like a flower bouquet. So i got this thing at home and i opened up massive. It's ugly as fuck. It's got these huge gulf wing kind of things off the top. And i gotta tell you. It doesn't look good no matter where i put it in my house anywhere i. It was bad enough that my wife was looking at it and just being like damn son that is fucking ugly and my wife is. She married me like she's used. She's accustomed right. You're talking to somebody who wakes up in the morning. Fuck and goes into. My boxer takes his pissed. She's had to see that she's had to see ugly. She seen in probably lived through the sins of man just by knowing for a year and even she looks at this fucking thing. And it's like god damn. Can you hide it so i have hit it. That is not a ding on the. Ps five. i don't care. Because i don't think the. Ps four or the ps three. George foreman grill edition. Looked fucking awesome right and the xbox original with its sort of boxing look wasn't necessarily You know awesome so you get this thing home you look at it. You got usb on the front. You have the on the back usb on the fronts usb see as well as which is nice to have a ac- that's where you plug in your dax which by the way people were wondering if digital audio or digital analog converters work. I've plugged in a couple and the have worked on the. Ps five guess on the ps four Was a little little heggie so those worked so you get this thing home you plug it in transferring your old. Ps four stuff to your. Ps is definitely a little bit more cumbersome than the xbox so i don't know why but they have a lot of and this is something you'll see in the overall they have a lot of nested and bouncing menus where you're like over here then you're all the way over here that kind of stuff but got it set up and i moved my stuff over. And it's like you can take your ps four hard-drive plug it into your ps five. And i'm like that's awesome. I plug it in. My aren't showing games are showing saves. Aren't showing. I realize the only way to transfer it the way i want to is to plug it back into the. Ps four sign into that use gamertag. Then plug it into the ps five then. Transfer the stuff that. Ps five then go back to the ps four then plug it in then reload the other gamertag so some some of mine which have nda's on him some of my Games i have to play on a particular gamertag. That's like you know. Just jargon right it's like not me. It's not when i share with these guys because you'll be playing an nba game. That was a little rough. I got it figured out but it was just a little bit weird and just a word of warning man. Don't throw your. Ps four hard drive on your ps five and like reformatted or something because you might reformat another profile that's got some saves on there that you might wanna try transfer over but you get it up and running you look at this and i gotta say man. We've seen this you i. We've seen the videos. It's just a you. I don't care again it's just you i but it's not it's not great it is also missing some things like themes and stuff which i thought was weird because that was a big thing for sony. Those are missing currently But it's it's overall about the same really. I mean like you go up and then it's the same thing you see on the ps four. Your tiles right. The only thing is is they've now got two lines of like they've basically got two lines of tiles. You've got your top tiles and then when you open up game you've got your bottom tiles which includes a thing called a switcher which somebody else's mentioned so i don't want to talk about because i don't there's some stuff we can't cover right now but it allows for you to switch between games not quick resume by the way there's no such thing jumping in there playing it using that. Ui stuff you've seen. It's pretty much what it is if you like that kind of stuff that's great if you don't you're not gonna be able to get away from it but i just don't see a lot of people i don't know about you guys. I don't spend a lot of people in the. Us like a lot of time in the us. It's not something that i'm gonna. I'm gonna fred over so getting this all set up and going i another thing. It's cool to the touch like it's it's pretty much like the ps or like the xbox series. I saw some people say in both were overheating or both were hot and i saw some video. Ps five possibly on a shelf store shelf somewhere where maybe they had sort of contained it on purpose to see what would happen and basically says ups was hot. Turn you know like at adequate ventilation

Dak Prescott’s injury raises questions about his future with the Dallas Cowboys
"Press guide in the return. That's the big deal. That's the big topic of conversation following week five of the NFL And we talked yesterday about just how devastating that injury can be long term for a guy that obviously uses his wheels uses. His mobility uses his agility. To be as effective as he is now, Steven Jones to his credit, said. That DAX injury does not affect their intent to re sign him to make him a franchise guy. But let's face it. The reality is the Cowboys just won a lot of leverage in that negotiation. Dak Prescott was trying to hold out, reportedly for $40 million a year and didn't want to be locked into a full five year deal would prefer to have had a four year deal that way, get it free agency again or be Not back for another renegotiation for more cash later on at an earlier date. Now he's not going to get that. Now there's no way that the Cowboys would have to pay $40 million a year anywhere near that, because he's damaged goods and he's a complete unknown.
"dax" Discussed on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum
"If you give me time to think about myself, I will inevitably star wondering where I'm ranking in this world and I'll start comparing myself to other people all start thinking of the things that Dax doesn't have that he should have and the more time I, spend thinking about myself the less happy I am maybe that's why maybe that's why you're so busy I. think that's probably part of the thing but I I know from service in a it's pretty hard to be thinking about what I do or don't have while I'm helping someone else just get sucked into their problem or sucked into their thing and it just it frees me from thinking of myself in so. One of the things with you is like. I don't think it's right or wrong to be in a relationship or be married I. Don't give I have no position on that. What I have a position on it the way I think it could be hugely beneficial to you is simply. You're going to have to spend so much goddamn time thinking about the other person and in the compromise that you guys have to come to that it it kind of it takes away some of the free time obsessive about yourself in the need and we're at and so it's like fuck all the other stuff just like get some fill up that dance card with other people's problems, and inevitably you have less time to think about yours in really you don't have fucking problems because you're full and there's a roof over your head. McCarthy's debut spoiling DAX season opener spoiling will you get how spoiling works? Here's the head coach on that costly pass interference call. Re I really didn't see a replay of it just watching it live. It looked like two guys hand fighting I thought it was well executed. I was I was surprised a call there. either. Way So. Very obviously disappointed in the in the call particularly at that point in the game I I thought they live both teams play tonight and you know you just don't usually see that particularly. Critical point a game. So I have not seen a it. That's about as much as I can comment on. It was clear as day they wouldn't have called then I would have been. Highly upset So it was clear as day opinion. Also. But that's what I. That's what I saw in filled out there. All right. Then the lots of get to in this one, let's start with that offensive. Pi Brandon. You've been moaning and groaning through these highlights. Did you think it was a call or not what you make of it? I'll say this by the letter of the law, this was the right call but this is the call that frustrates wide receivers and quarterbacks around the glow. Alright because when you look at it, who's the first to really engage in hand combat down the sideline jail? It's usually the generally be. Of course Yup. So what are you re Mr referee what do you want me to do? Jalen has my arm. How do I get my arm away? We're taught not to be violent with the shove and not to be violent what the separation. You know fun fact Jalen Jalen Ramsey his his hand coach Berry. Nez. Did a phenomenal job with them. The best thing about this was Jalen Ramsey acting job he added like. Shove to the sideline. Yeah. That was the best part about it. That's why he got this call. It reminds me of the basketball players flopping. This was a bad call, but we really look at the law if we want to see this call change moving forward.

But sometimes a situation like that could kind of give you pause, especially when your dad with little kids

"Welcome to pop your source for nightmare weddings and Yoga. Ball sits. Big Round of applause I like get. Nina's often that you guys but hunters here has always and so is actress producer and. Legend. Viviana. A. Welcome. Back. Welcome where we are so excited to have you hundred GonNa Flirt with you. The entire show get prepared for them. Time Vivica just walked taping. That works for me baby just a little. Just a little took us. Describe my style of flirting. So this is. My God I'll. Little tickle we can get started now. All Right Ben Affleck was just banned from arm his upcoming James Bond Premiere at least that's what the tabloids are claiming. It's probably total but supposedly bond producers are afraid the couples pedia will overshadow the movie and Daniel Craig's okay. They have like a you've obviously you're a lot more famous than both hundred and I combined you too many movie premieres yet we like it. It's a big win for us tonight on nightly pop. If you going to an event and for movie you were in and producers said, listen you're man can't come how do you handle that challenge? Cry. Let's start right there. We've never look here. Work showed up gave as our how I not shining I. If this is true is totally unfair. Why does the girl not have to shot because she's in a grid we? Away from. She has died. He has done for them hunter. What do you think about if you could not bring me to a movie premiere as a standing date for you because your girl canceled? Would you be asset? That's okay with me and I think if they really don't want Ben Affleck showing up, put it in a city that doesn't have Dunkin donuts. I guarantee you. Not Going. There for some reason I mean honestly I have to say I don't know why I'm leaning towards this being true but I sort of believe it. I kind of feel like this sort of makes sense I mean I don't know if Ben Affleck is going to overshadow Daniel Craig's something about them always walking those. Dogs which I Got? Every day. Why it's always just so staged feeling for some reason I I do believe. I kind of believe that they're like listen just leave your boyfriend at home or moving on. While Shirley's there and knows what she wants when it comes to a relationship and the first rule is she's not going to live with anybody you guys. She recently told the mirror that she's not sure that she could live with somebody again and that he may have to buy the house next to her. She's just too old for this. Like it okay. I just want a new. And nobody's coming up here running thing but me so I'm all with their Charlie's let them know when it's happening to come over and do the deed. With after other than that stale ass next door right you. My God. First of all, my type of woman this is Great Vivica. I'm happy to buy any house near Your House I'm going GonNa have to save up a little bit but I can do it and then seconds I see where they're coming from but it also feels like Charlie's is coming from a place of she hasn't had healthy relationships lately maybe or she hasn't found that person you do want to live with I. Think we all kind of think that after we go to break, we're like no more of the opposite sex ever again taking that much of my personal mind and then raging you find someone. And you can grow with and maybe they start outside the house maybe eventually you're like, Hey, let's have toothbrushes in the same room. Let's try that out for a little while. Yeah, I feel like with Charlene I think that also when you are single for such a long time, you kind of get set in your ways and just having the idea of someone come in and just rearranging things becomes really daunting and just quite frankly really annoying and to be honest Shirley's does not need to settle. She doesn't need to do anything that is inconvenient for her at all. So like I. Totally under understand her mindset of like I don't. Yeah. Come over when you need to do the deed otherwise I don't need to be moving my cashmere sweaters for you to put your jeans and the next door take your time says the girl that got engaged in seven months. I was like, all right give it to me okay Brian. Austin. Green is getting defensive about dating multiple women after his split for Meghan Box Ryan was on the Hollywood raw podcast you listened to that a lot right with DAX holt an atom. Glenn where he said he isn't playing anybody but the whole point of dating is to talk to several people at once. What people normally do when they get out of something is they date they they talked to multiple people at once I'm not playing anybody like this is. My life is just is much more under a microscope. Let me ask you. So should he have to tell the woman? He's dating that he's seeing other people I'm GONNA ask Hunter Africa's I can't wait to hear the assay. I appreciate honesty to be very honest with you in their plans. Call dating onto someone says it's meeting. You is called dating I. Yeah I don't what are the nine but they're adults the whole thing completely unraveled for me and I was like what is be we herman well. It's like childhood rivals. The kid wants his bike but the kids twenty six okay. Any kind of talks to. Yes Oh for I was like I don't have the answers to these questions and I can't believe I just took the whole thing at face value when I was a kid. I DIDN'T ASK THOSE QUESTIONS. Like is he mentally has a mental right things going right and what was sexually. Where does he stand? Yeah it's true. It's I guess you had said this but it's it bears repeating that the context in this case like the context is everything right. We're kids in the eighties where we were slowly introduced to we and we lived in a time. Where like pee? Wee's playhouse was on and he was just like figuring pop culture that we knew of it wasn't like all of a sudden we're going from a non P world into all of a sudden this. This guy is like okay. That's I hear okay. If you go almost on one superpower what would what would you pick if you could have a superpower? It's really for me right between invisibility and fly? That's usually what it comes down to some somebody said recently I would want to know every language C. Three Po. That'd be oh that would be cool. I guess I'm GonNa go flying because I gotta assume if you can fly even when you're decrepit old and you can't walk you can maybe still fly. Oh yeah that's true. He's around in your elder years. If you could be one age for the rest of your life physically what what would you pick probably? Let's go. I'M GONNA go with like thirty five. Yeah if you could be reincarnated as a non human animal in random pictured years in arrangement would you rather be called unattractive or unfunny unfunny Really Oh that's all I talk about. This is what I've said you could say any thing about me but if it ends with a and I WANNA fuck him. I'm delighted so someone go like that. Dax is such a fucking dumb ass. He can't even read so boring. I totally WANNA fuck him. I'm so good everything's good. I don't even care about those two things. That's really funny Which golden girl do you most identify with Dorothy? Blanche rose or so is a new question by the way Leslie Jordan. Ah He goes. Before the question came out of my mouth. He Goes L. Blanche links eager. And I knew her. I knew that's Ru McLennan. Of course you did. Who was the WHO or that's blanche. Has I mean physically? I'm I'm wants her name all day long. But I I'd like to say my spirit. Is that of Blanche. Okay Beatles or rolling stones. Do you remember that you remember that? One of those rose I I would hate to be a part one of those but I love watching them but at one point someone said I wouldn't fuck you would be Arthur's Dick do you remember yes advocacy. I forget who that was. Yeah that sounded like Sarah Silverman. Maybe if you could have dinner with three people dead or alive whom you've never met Pablo Escobar. He'd be in there Buster Keaton. You prefer into chaplain big time. He was the original. Jackie Chan what he did was so fucking dangerous. The very famous one with the front of the House falling and he lands in the window s half his crew. Quit that day. They were like we're not going to sit here and watch you die. He had like an inch on either side and no rehearsal and he just stood there and let building fall on them and it worked. I'm attracted to all fearless people even if they're terrible scumbags here. I'm in this boggles kristen too. She's always like how do you like someone like Pablo Escobar? And I'm like right and I go hon. I'm fascinated by people's will like here's a guy from a fucking ghetto. The Mountainside in Columbia in through his own will he becomes the eighth richest man in the world that notion that someone can decide in their mind that they're going to do something like that and do it is just fascinating to me. And how do you want to be remembered DAX? Do you ever think about that. Do you ever think about your own legacy and your own sense of what you're GonNa leave besides your kids. Obviously and you know I I don't that doesn't interest me at all. I all have friends who I can tell are actively curing their legacy. And I'm like I hate to break it to you. There's this I get it. I totally get it but this desire to be on a great show quote a great show I go. I hate to tell you this. But no one's going to watch breaking bad in ten years as much as we would love to think they're gonNA they're not gonNA. My kids will never see breaking bad so anything you do. That's great disappears like sand on the Highway. So the thing you want is prestige or acclaim or accolades. Just No. They're not permanent. So in that case your life experiences. What's permanent under deathbed? You WanNa show that you spent eight years on that was fucking miserable so that people congratulated you. That's just not my bag. Well man thank you. I'm sorry man I love is my favorite. I love it. Thanks how we can't wait to do it again. I'll have you back now..

"How's it going? How how's quarantining is it? It's it's good now but but it was rocky at first because it's such an adjustment to a When it happened I was I was shooting. Blesses mess top gear than doing the podcast? That's right you were is oh to go from seeing her in the morning and our and then three hours at night to seeing her twenty four hours a day with our two kids twenty four hours a day. She's yeah required some communications some new new guidelines of how we're GonNa well she tells a story and I don't remember the fight was about. She said something on here that resulted in you guys adopting another dog and I it got it got all right right got picked up a new story. Well two things about that one. I'd love to hear your side but also are you ever hasn't talked to talk about your relationship or anything from your personal lives aside from showing your kids in bringing your kids into it. Is there ever anything that you like? This might get this might get called by some Gossip magazine. We should maybe be. I'm aware of it but I'm not concerned about it. So the things that I get. I have an emotional response to our one hundred percent of the time. I have some fear underneath of that right. So let me give you an example. If you dedicated your entire show to making fun of me and every episode you talked about how short I was just two short DAX shepard too short. He shouldn't be in business. He's too short. You could do a million episodes. It would never bother me because I'm not too short. No fear being short if I if I know one thing about myself that I'm tall so it'd be a crazy show to do too but yeah but you couldn't penetrate it because they don't have a fear of being too short now if you did a show about that. I wasn't talented enough to be the lead of a show on ABC. Bother me. If I'm not interested I'm arrogant that bother me because I am arrogant. Mono at all or anything that I actually have a fear of would bother me. I don't care if a magazine says Chris Denier GonNa get divorced or that. We have a shitty relationships amazing relationship. Because I know exactly what our relationship is and I'm super happy and proud of it so in that way it would be like them calling me short like to make a meal like we're falling apart or yeah okay. We're not falling apart so go. I don't care right in fact I to the point where it strikes me that you guys have fun with it if anything you read those stories and like sometimes you call them out kind of like what you did with Schwarzenegger you literally just like read them verbatim and then all the one that we had like some kind of sex ring. I was like and again ultimately kind of flat terrain sexy their worse like worse rumor to start with. We haven't found in a year but the notion that we're like swinging is kind of exciting kind of Flat Arik. Do you remember this fight. Though the fight about the with that resulted in you getting another dog. She didn't really remember the details. Well I do. And what's funny is. That's exactly what cycled back for corn team. Which is my wife and I as all people. We approach things differently and I have a lot of childhood triggers. I had a lot of Stepdad's I don't like to be told what to do. I have a huge authority thing so that I was. I came out and there was a God damn list on the counter. If you wanted me to do I was like Hey. I don't work for you and you have been working alive right. Yeah Yeah Yeh back to back to the fear thing I feel very good about what kind of Dad I am. You could. She could go on. Tv AND SAMA. Terrible Fucking Dad. And even though there'd be a very credible source because she witnesses it wouldn't bother me at all because I feel great about what kind of interesting. Yeah and likewise. I feel very good about what I do around the house. I fix all the fucking Dude Shit. I'm in the cars and I don't do laundry and I can live with that peace with that. I do a lot of great stuff. Yeah I'm never going to walk through the House and be like I gather up a couple of loads of laundry and he's just not gonNA do domestic lane. You're very clear about your lane. I've accepted what she does. And it's been going smoothly for twelve years so I don't think we need to revamp any list like hold on a second. This is a whole new rules now. So once we got into quarantine. I certainly have enough time to do that laundry but I'm still not GonNa do that laundry interesting. What about that mind you? I washed dishes. I don't mind washing dishes at all. I probably five times a day. So it's not like won't it's not like I'm not doing quote? Yeah Women's Work. Not a pig. Decks is doing very clear. Fuck about laundry. I don't go through much laundry. Their problem that they're all going through so much laundry. I wonder if you've pinpointed where that may have come from that specific aversion in childhood. I wonder if there's a thing in the text back into but you know where it comes from I do. I had a lot of Stepdad's and they would arrive. And they really nice at first and then the second there is a marriage now it was time to the way they thought a house should be ran interesting and I was part of four different global strategies on living and none of them I agreed with and when I turned eighteen. I say guess what I will never fuck in ever be part of someone else's strategy live that I'm on the wrong side of it. I am over. I overreact to that. I should be able to just do laundry of my wife. Wants me to clearly. But she also understands where that trigger comes from. She's very sensitive to your your story. You're damned yeah the really bigger conceptual global thirty thousand foot view issue. That's going on is really. Hey there's a way you like to do things. There's a way I like to do things. And they're not always going to match up and so even as something as simple as she feels very productive in the morning when she wakes up the I ninety minutes. She's awake and she's on fire that's because she's looking at me and I said I sit and I drink coughing. Chew Tobacco and try to get a dump going and I and I have a window of productivity and I just say like Hey I'm never going to have the same window of productivity of you for whatever reason mine comes later in the day and I don't want to ever be evaluated based on your yes. Katie and Rhythm. Or whatever rhythm you do right now if. I'm a Lazy Motherfucker Call Me Out. But it's not going sing up the way you like it that makes sense so that definitely makes sense. So how did it come up again? Just come up again because now we're together all the time they're more. You have more time to do things more available. They've seen me set time. But when to say a my mind in my mind I was like dude. I've got three full-time jobs. Yeah this is awesome man. I'm finally get to sit in my house for a month and a break. I haven't had in two years and I'm going to enjoy the shit out of this is like my summer vacation and rightly so she's like you know you could. You could do a little more. You're a great storyteller. Your we've heard so good impressions but also you have such great recall in a weird way. I've always wondered because we had a lot of sober guests on the show and I wonder how did that affect your decision to WanNa do podcast? He was that something that you've cultivated in sobriety on your sober well. Being in a is the foundation of the podcast which is right for the last fifteen years will go sit in front of strangers and be dead honest indeed vulnerable and I think we all have a fear of what being dead honest dead vulnerable will result in generally. It's result embarrassment or shame but through practicing that for fifteen years a hundred percent of the time that I'm honest in own my fears what I see on other people is not like judgment are or disapproval. It's recognition it's always recognition. Even though the details may different the underlying emotions of all of our things are so relatable and so. I think I just through practice of doing that. It's made me far more confident in in In being honest I don't think I there's no way I have this podcast without mean in a podcast but it would just be all comedy or something. You said this to me after. I left When we did the podcast a year ago started second guessing things I'd said. Oh my God I talked about the ex and stuff like that you said everything is on the two has to be on the table. You got to be completely honest and vulnerable and I started thinking. Are there things like that that you're afraid to talk about that? You feel vulnerable about the trickier thing for me. Is My children. Because I can't resist but to talk about them and they're at an age where they won't know I talk about them. I've noticed this in Stern. Like stern talks about everything in his life but his daughters have to assume that came from them. Probably saying hey. I don't want to be a part of your show. Yeah but the thing the thing I walk. That's really tricky. In in only time will tell. Is You know I can see where they would be like. Hey leave me out of your stupid show. And then by the same token I could see them listening back going man. He couldn't stop talking about me. He thought about me he thought about me when he was talking to Will Ferrell. He thought about me when he was talking to Sheryl Crowe. I don't know that I would like that like if my vice saw that. My Dad just could not keep me out of his thoughts. I would like it. What if your kids at one point like well? Why don't you bring me? I WANNA be a part of this. Are you afraid that they're they must be charismatic? As hell they must be funny. I hear them in the background of your. You know. They're like little presences felt it's funny stories instead. Comedy insects crawling around. Yeah and and great pedigree obviously yeah. They're they`re. They're both really funny and charming. One in particular is is we call her Shirley Farley? Because she's a mix between Shirley Temple and Chris Farley. She's She can't she can't do anything. That's not funny. Good Watch watcher e you go walk across the room. You just can't help it trying. And also she has this amazing the thing. I can't believe she has almost no little kid has this is. She'll make a dynamite joke and then she does not go back to the well. She won't hit it again. Walk my other daughter. If she she lands one she's GonNa try three or four Morte Ring Ring Ring Milk. It right kids do but my one daughter she's like Shit Beaumont and walk out and then and then we'll know when to bring it back again might be an hour later. Wow how does she have that awareness that instead of wind? That's and I would never? I would never put them on the show. Yeah I would interview them..

"Several years ago my older brother are older brother? Damian and I were walking to our car parked in New Haven Connecticut and we saw a woman next to her car seemed kind of distraught and it was raining out and we asked what was wrong. She said Oh my God flat tire and and we said you know what? Why don't we just fix the tire to men? Not that only men can fix tires but you know and we had an umbrella. We gave her an umbrella so she's standing there while. We're trying to figure out how to do this. I realized that halfway through. We both realized that we didn't really know how to change a tire. I I'd done it before. And certainly our father do it but it was just really difficult taking a long time and at a certain point. She started getting frustrated. By the time we finished. She didn't think us in a genuine way. She's thinks like this. Thanks a lot and we both walked away feeling both emasculated and maybe a little less willing to help a stranger out which sucks. It's too bad I wasn't with. You would have been able to help in a Jiffy because we grew up in the same house that I'm just kidding anyway. Here's the show could be a dream ship. Ooh You're listening to life is short. I'm your host just in long nine sweetheart With always is my equally inept. A- changing a tire brother Christian so unnecessary well. I just said that I couldn't do it. I was kidding. Yeah I know but just in case. It wasn't clear you don't you want to know how to change a tire like that. I know of chain look for the record. I can change one. I in theory. I know how to do it. I know the steps required. I just remember but I've never done it. I don't think I could do. The scary part is when you put the crank thing that props up the car and you know the name will. Do you know the name. Yeah curricular now. It's US Shit as soon as I Jack Jack Jack Or Jack. I don't know James. The scary part is because I've done it before I put it on the wrong part. If you don't put it on the like solid foundation this much I know if you put it on the bumper to bumper the founder of the fray or well. Here's in front of the tire. Otherwise rip the frame off the side. It's got him in front of the back tires but see. I know that that happened to me once on my Volkswagen Golf. You remember that car that I it had a blue door. One of the doors blew. The rest was Maroon and I painted like racing stripes on it is a stick shift. Eighty four golf. I loved that car. I don't WanNA blame our father completely on this. Now he had done but the fact is shit here. Here's the fact. He never really taught us that much about automotive maintenance. We I know how to do basic dino how to check the oil in a car how to change the oil car but beyond that. I can't really. We really do anything he can. And I wish I you know part of it is. We had a really reliable good mechanic growing up so I shot a Jamba Guardia. So we had to learn it ourselves but I wish I did. I wish you knew more about auto mechanics because it's every time I see a movie. There's a scene in being. There's a scene in stand by me. Were there like working on a carburetor. Remember that was a question Trivia night. We've been doing trivia night with our friend Dan Scheckter and I thought for sure carburetor looked like this thing that I was wrong. We had the multiple choice. That was embarrassing. We got that wrong we We're not men in that way. No but why. Why are we talking about this wanting to be better at mechanics auto mechanics part because our guest is the exact opposite of us when it comes to your guests thrives on working on cars and manly stuff That again I mean this is going to make a sound soft. No no but but but referring to people who know about Carl's being man I it's were reinforcing. These gender Stereo. Shouldn't I know but let's say to be safe in the very traditional definition of what manliness is one of the things that a man traditionally can do is fix cars right okay and our guest. Today is a very traditional. That's in the man. In that way. Well said BELLSA safely said as it is. I know you don't WanNA offend. But our guest today being thoughtful as is our guest today. He's a thoughtful traditionally adept to man. He's fascinating in that. He is both traditionally Manley but also very sensitive and vulnerable and compassionate which aren't traditional values. Necessarily four he has both old fashioned masculine qualities and very new fashion. Very modern masculine qualities. Sensitive vulnerable he's a good listener. Telling me okay here. We go our guest today. Is Kim Jong UN? Sorry our guest today is Dax Shepard. You might know him yes you everyone knows front well now. Everyone knows him for. Are you feeling self conscious about being bad at this because taxes so good at podcasting? Dax isn't doesn't do a big opening though on his show. No no he's a very in two zero point taken Access a very popular. Podcast called Armchair experts and DAX's armchair expert which he does with Monica Pattern. They that really launched us. We owe him a lot and we'll get into that later. I'm sure but you did to be clear because this might be a little confusing. Right white stack sandbags. We all might think oh he was on. Yeah exactly wrong did You were a guest on his podcast a year ago. Yes right and that our one year anniversary. It's exciting yeah. This is our one year anniversary show so that episode one year ago where you're the guests on his show was on our feet for life is short as the first episode for a long time. It's not anymore but that wasn't you interviewing him. That was him interviewing you. Yeah so I remember a Lotta clear. This is the first time you are that. He's on this. Show that we just us. Yeah and at the time. A lot of people were like What's going on? This is just like you're just. It must have been a little confusing people. Maybe not maybe not the best move our part on the feet so long because I think he was confusing because it's was the first one. Oh just I want to check out this podcast. You Click on the first one well and it's you being interviewed. Part of it. Part of it was. We were going to do it back back. And I ended up talking with deck so long a year ago when I went to his. He has a little studio in House that they're building we talk forever and there just wasn't time to do another one so he said. I'll tell you what I'll tell you what we'll just split the on you so So this is it so for those who don't listen to his podcast. A few who don't I wonder if there are any who of that. It's a very popular. Yeah but you also know him from punked from without a paddle we we should maybe give a little context because if you had the and the show bless this mess. That's that's right with like if you haven't seen any accuracy first of all you should. It's a really great comedy. I one of my favorites of that decade. And it's a Mike. Judge movie and DAX is with my Rudolph and Luke Wilson. One of the leads. The movie five hundred years into the future. Imagine a society that has just kind of devolved intellectually and decks Frito we get into that. It's where it's really how I got to know DAX Met Him prior to that. I don't know my memories. Terrible his memories. Great. It's another one of the things. I really admire about him Which will also get into so maybe we should get into it. I would love to take a page out of DAX's play cowboy. Yeah Too late for that I guess but here it is My first technically I interview first time taxes on our show. The hilarious honest sweet. Man's man in a traditional.

I'll tell you off the beaten but anyways I was like well then I have till tomorrow to now proposed basically or whatever four five more days. This happened another time to talk and ordered. Kristen something for Christmas like in this first week of December and it was some female thing. And that's and I stupidly. Use My real name because my credit card or whatever the hell was her. Christmas present was in the news like a week before Christmas. Yes the person who had bought it from called whoever they call. I don't know how it works but it was all over the Internet that I got in Chris. Kristen this specific gift. There's a bunch of things I have to ask you. And if I don't the listeners are GonNa Freak out 'cause I never well. I went out to my lead to ask about your injury. Oh Yeah Yeah I was. I was off roading and I broke my ham. Well I broke the three of the four Carpools across the top of your hands snap and so then I had to get surgery and they put pins in them. Yeah oh I saw pulling them out. That's right yes talk to that. We're down one pin yet. We I think there are six left in there though. A while and is is the off roading. And the is it still contention with your wife or you guys have just. This is something you have to accept about me. Well what's amazing again and it really? It really tells you something we already know. Which is the helmet. Argument wasn't about the helmet. The music argument wasn't about the music. So I think Christmas falling in love with a guy who had gnarly pass. Certainly one that differed from hers and I think she rightly was terrified to link her train car. This train going is this thing. Is HE GONNA relapse he? He was a sex addict. Maybe like all these things understandably it was really fear and then there are all these other things that that symbolized it to her so weirdly. Enough and Kristen would admit this to Christine was pretty jealous. The first couple of years we were together. She didn't love that. I was friends with Max girlfriends in this kind of stuff and from the day. I asked her to marry me. She's the least Jealous Person I've ever met. She doesn't care how dirty my jokes magic trick it is and I was like. Oh my God it was kind of a leap of faith because I was like. I didn't think I would marry someone. That was jealous. It just wasn't my bag in the past but I just loved her so much and then like a light switch it was gone forever and all this other stuff like she I raised. She doesn't care. I ride motorcycles everywhere. She doesn't care I it's it's interesting it is. It is just sort of this like box that gets checked because look I've been with someone I've been engaged to someone. I've never been married to someone but I do know the moment I got engaged. I didn't care who he followed on instagram. I didn't care who he was texting and I do think you know being in public which everyone is figuring with instagram. Frankly so everyone can relate to that. There's something about telling the world's I'm off the market yeah. I didn't realize how much I needed. Or how helpful? That was you know. Because the thing is like Oh. He can hang out with his axis as long as it's been on his instagram that he's engaged like they know what's up and you know it just was like such relief. Yeah so for whatever reason any you know issue. I had in that regard disavow operated. Oh Dax Shepard thank God for shepherd I feel like he has joined the fight to encourage people to get help. Examine yourself edify yourself be better do better. But I'm busy and I don't have time to go to therapist and I have to get in the car and I have to drive and.

"A challenge gives challenge and I hope that people pair up and they say okay for two months. We're going to give each other challenges and we're going to hold each other accountable so we can get what we want or learn something. Did you ever discuss the fact that you actually Marco Polo me and said? You didn't think you could get it done and you asked. Maybe we should install a punishment or consequence for not a challenge. And I said absolutely not I know you were like no you have to do it and I was like well. I can't. It's the last day did it okay. So what personal growth? So he says yeah like. What is the truth? You learn about yourself that maybe you're not you can't go back now. We'll everyone knows I'm forty three now and I can't go back from that. It's so sexy to be forty three. Now I'm jealous said as how there's so many things so many things I learned from her two threw me which was so helpful with Monica sitting next to me. I almost took some of the advice. They were giving her even more than my own. You know when Esther Parral said to her. It doesn't matter where you are if you're on a mountain top or eating coffee or you know or in a cavern or if the guy's hot or if the guy's not you don't WanNa be there. It's all the time even if you're eating coffee coffee for her evening. I'm still missing. You should publish a book but your mindset is not there. It doesn't matter who's in front of you. You don't want to be there and that Goblin telling her all those years. You're safe. You don't need this you go hang out with your friends you know. Thank you Goblin. But I don't need you anymore and I'm going to go do this thing. That's uncomfortable was mind blowing when Patty even said you know Patios on our most controversial was thousands of thousands of comments about her a plead the fifth on what they said but when she told me. You're a Beta jess. You need to go out with an Alpha as much as I thought. I knew that because the three boyfriends I have had were Alpha's I thought I was an Alpha in the streets and Beta in the bed. But I'm both sheets sheets. What YOU MR. Great opportunity to rhyme part of the proverbs and still make mistakes. I'm so bad when she told me. I'm a beer. You WanNa be pursued. I pursued. Everyone that I have never been with the only relationships I've had were these guys. I was taking back seat. And that's not wrong. You know you've said a million times to you. Kristen in your last five relationships you were the Alpha Beta. I thought I was the Alpha because I have a lot of Alpha tendencies. Shame but I think in my heart in my soul. I would prefer to be a Beta and I like my previous relationships. I've never dated anyone like Dax in my life and I never thought I would. And my previous relationships not only was in the driver's seat my ex-boyfriends were not even in the passenger seat. They were in the trunk. They were in the trunk of the relationship for hand percent and I was there and I didn't know why it wasn't working but it was because there was this discontent there. Was this feeling of turbulence in my body because I wasn't letting anyone else step up and take care of me and when I started dating DAX like you know we're polar opposites and everything about it is wonderful and everything about it is difficult but he is by definition an example and Alpha and I have realized throughout my. How long have we been together? Thirteen years fourteen twelve. Oh and a half twelve and a half almost thirteen that I am so much more comfortable leaning on an Alpha and that I can still have all tendencies you but that's just it's so different and I realized like Oh. Wow I had been confused this whole time and now I'm finally comfortable and I finally feel safe. I would describe as his Co. dominant dominant recessive. And then some genes are co dominant. So they can switch back and forth and I don't think that I'm Alpha Beta per se. I think it switches a lot but I also had been in relationships where I was driving the boat in. That's not a great thing for me. Either we needed to be CO dominated. Yeah I don't think I don't. I don't know these labels of like not to go against what Patty said but I just think when you box things up like Alpha Beta and I'm this and I'm this you can lose track of yourself because we're all of the things at any given moment and it's okay to know like in this relationship. I prefer to be this or I'm happy to let this person take. The lead is a different thing than I need someone to take over or I need to be. I heard what I wanted to hear from Patty and it helped me like Dr drew called me valley polar and there's a lot of spaghetti thrown on the wall on this in the show but I loved everything people said. There's a way of seeing yourself in all of these comments. These people are very good at what they do. They I think a big takeaway I have is. We got a lot of conflicting advice You know like one guest would come on and say don't have sex for a while like hairy. You Know Harry is. Don't just having sex have sex and then you have. Dan Who comes on and he's like you have phone sex right now. We got some conflicting advice. I loved that game because it really made us experiment with all the different types of things and see what works for us at the end of the day I was just thinking. Oh there is no right answer. There is no right answer to this. There's just different avenues in different things you can try and see what feels good in your own body and mind and heart but other than that. That's all you can do. Hairy isn't the perfect right answer for every single person. Patty is not the right answer for every single person. Even esther isn't like you. Just take the things that work and you leave the things that don't and it's kind of a beautiful metaphor. I think for relationships in general which is you take in the things that are happy and good and maybe what I learned from Dan is. There's a price of admission and you have to let some of those things go. I'm so glad you're saying this because this has been my mantra about life in general for ever and I. I'm so at peace with receiving solicited or unsolicited advice. I love it about relationships about how I could be better business about parenting especially because when you get into the parenting world. Like don't give advice. Dude I need advice. Don't you know there's a whole thing but I am personally have found so much strengthened going. I want everything because I'm not beholden to any of it but I want to know all the information so tell me that I should be having sex all the time. Tell me that I should not have sex for awhile. All of it and then you really get to know yourself you get to see everything and then choose what you want. But you don't you don't say like Oh I don't need that advice because you might. You might even need that advice to confirm that. It's not the advice you need. Yeah one of my biggest takeaways was my a demonstration. Is that a word of the word addiction. I hated that word so much and it was very hard for me to hear it from DAX but once it comes up over and over with different people and the way they describe the word differently. The word fizzled a bit. And I came to peace without word a little bit more. That was probably the biggest lesson I still am. Not Ready to make Yet addict or no addict or go to a meeting or this or that but that was a huge takeaway for me of the word and making it not so scary while even listening to Dr Alex go through you going back and forth from Sweden at five and not having someone to regulate your emotions with you and just recognizing like Oh yeah when you bake a cake with these ingredients you get this kind of outcome and yeah. That's certainly the ingredients I was baked with. I don't feel any real guilt about it. It's like yeah you molested kid and you you have all these traumas and you do this. X Y and Z eighty percent chance. You're going to have some addictive qualities So that you can regulate your own emotions inventing. You should feel compassion for yourself that you know one helped you learn to regulate yeah and when Monica looked at me and laughed and said I guess mean you have to go to an SA. Meeting I mind was blown. There was no way that I ever thought that me and Monica were similar. Might not have to go meet her and go to a meeting but doesn't matter it's that underlying it her avoidance in my over sexualization or so so similar and it was just it was like a light like drop moment. Baltimore art both work. We.

"But when you put a picture up from fifteen years ago fifteen okay and I did have a three months ago. I left the guy's house and it was really hot. We had sex two weeks later. I go you WANNA hang out again. He's like oh I might hook up like a threesome. I don't think I want to do one on one if you get a hot guy. I'll join you guys. You need to update your pictures like it was the worst and best thing and it went through my veins because I've been on plenty of dates lately in real dates where the guy was like in not really match your a little aggressive for me and I was like cool. I love that about myself. I think I'm aggressive and I'm a lot and I ordered eighteen appetizers and I it really fast and I'm just that's me and I didn't it in battle and I am like cool. Good luck with everything but when he said update your pictures Triggered Your Dark. It was just awful and great and I smile I go yeah. I probably should do that. And then blocked off. It's this is so layered on layered so sometimes might trigger with you is that it's A. It's a blanket statement. It's just you should do this and other so much more underneath it like you said we're the river starts where it ends you know and why we're doing this and that's why this is so exciting and nerve wracking for and I think it's going to be Really cool but again as your friend. If I saw that you were trying to regularly compete in the Gay Olympics as a sprinter I would say to you. I don't understand why you're trying to compete with sprinters when you're a phenomenal basketball player. That's won three gold medals in the Olympics. Which you have but this is one gay Goldman. I have gay Goldman Gail. I'm no there's nothing gay about. They're pretty. I'm saying that there are a thousand guys ally. Maybe a hundred thousand guys in L. A. That have better bodies than you. Why on Earth is that? What you'RE GONNA fucking compete on. Its own because you stupid. Because that's why lure people to these dates and I do do well on these dates because that's my thing but to get them on the dates unique. Now those guys to get those guys you do need to have those guys my pictures. Aren't that bad. And I've their current ones. I'm so embarrassed. Plenty of guys. I'm going multiple dates with plenty of guys. I'm having sex with multiple times with those pictures being fine but just your your stomach getting red. You're missing the point. I know starting the day one thing and you get a buyer that's in the market for that thing and that's fine you're right those guys do. WanNa fuck the version of You. That the got the lowest body percentage fat. There's no argument there. I totally agree with you but I would suggest that the person you're going to end up growing old with on on a fucking swinging chair. That's not what they're going to be in the market for. They're going to be me. Meaning Kristen Insane. That personality must be with that personality on a fucking rocking chair. And so I'm not expecting any more of one of these guys than what I did. I think is the least interesting thing about you. While doubt anyone to be honest. We'll know some people have shitty personalities and there are they're not brighter. Funnier fun to be around. And maybe their bodies the best thing about them and those people should live in the gym and they should sell that product. Yeah but you're you're thing you you by the way you can be in great shape. I'm not telling you not to be in great shape or that not to be an aspect of you but I definitely think it will always be the last most interesting thing about you in the least among many reasons that someone would want to spend their life with you but as you said we're trapped in we want the thing we don't think we are and in theory. I love those things you're saying and I hundred percent would in a perfect world want that you also in all fairness it's just an experiment. You've never tried. What what were we on when you set them at heaviest point? Was it all fallbrook? If you took your worst pitcher from Walbrook it's next to Monica. Were my stoop pitcher. My huge stomach coming out and in a comment said suck it in Jess was one of my county friend said Who also felt very insecure about their appearance. And so what I'm saying is what we know for. Sure I could be dead wrong. You could be dead right. That'd be great. You've never tried that experiment. You never lead with the worst physical version of yourself fallbrook and then we're GONNA call it. Fallbrook fallbrook physique and seen who wants to go out to dinner with you and then when you get to that dinner they're like Oh my God. This guy's so much thinner in real life that's cool. He's over delivering already in. You're like fuck. I got a lot of latitude now because he he went on a date with the fallbrook. I'm free to be me. We just haven't had that experiment. You've never gone on dates with guys who wanted to go on a date with you. After seeing Fallbrook we just don't know so it's all theoretical and it's all narrow down challenge. Okay so as I said. We'RE GOING TO BE CHALLENGES. Just tonight the end of each episode and then at the beginning of each episode we will reconvene about those challenges and how they went and all of that and at the end of this episode will start with. Dax giving us a challenge. Now I mean I'm inclined right off the cuff to say because I think you guys have such opposite approaches Switch bodies well basically like I'd like to see Monica going to dates in the next week to fucking and I'd like you to only go on one date and I would like four set up. I would like for year four said I do. I would like for you just to make a list of what you want. The guy to be in a can include anything physical. Okay so I am in about five or six guys in rotation right now so this should be a new person. Yeah you gotta go out with a new person. It's not like a monster turn. Oh man well look. Dan Savage talked about. This is not a secret that gay guys can have sex a lot. More ice straight guys in Dan savage's takeaway which we loved was make the world safer for women and they'll WANNA have sex is much because they want to they're just afraid of slut shaming in danger to them. So what we get to see with guys is where both parties feel very safe right and Horny as hell and so you can fuck more and then there's there's apps even I think this is relevant before we get into how your dates go. I think people need a precursor something. Monica and I were absolutely fascinated by and loved. Is that some of the cultural norms in grinder. Dating is someone may come over in. They may step into your house so this is my truth. Yeah the lead-up is great. There's a lot of sexting we're in a forty minute spans. How long's it take you to get there? Sometimes I'll GPS. How far they are away. They're driving over. I'm getting ready. Douching makes sure my. Oh my God. I'm making sure that Everything's set up. I'm definitely clean up my room bit. I throw a lot of the stuff in the closet then. I'm downstairs then. I'm downstairs pacing checking my breath. Then I'm tech seem a little bit. They're pulling up. I just I get a lot of just parked then my pussy quivers a little bit for the just. Yeah P Q for just parked. I meet them halfway through my courtyard so I want to see a good lighting and I I wanNA see a walk. I WanNa see if he's bringing it. Why backpack like so get right? You live what car. They're driving down because I do so. They're walking up. That's telling their size me up. I'm sizing them up. They get into the foyer sizing up. Hey how you doing good man. How was the drive now too? Far Awesome. Do you want a water now. I have bottled water now. Sometimes they WANNA water a lot of times. They're like no. I just had one. I had one in the car. Ah Holding one just then we just flew start making out right then there's grabbing there's touching. I'm going down to because I get Dick. Pics often pictured my parents say this. I'm feeling for quality of life. I'm feeling to see if this is all going to chop I feel all that making out making out little. Grab I Mike. I'm down. He's like yeah. You WanNa go upstairs and then other times. Yes and other times. I'm not feeling it. And he goes I get it man and they quickly put their clothes back on the grabbed the shirt. Nice meeting you very jovial. Nice very like this has happened a million times. We're used to this and that has happened to me right now on the flip side again just not to put too fine. Appoint on it. But it's generally like if you say I don't think it's a match. It's a pretty immediately after you've seen their penis right you don't want to say yes but yes yeah. Yeah Yeah and so what I find amazing and so different from my experience hooking up with women is if I were to ever look at a woman's Vagina and then immediately stand up. We're not a match. I have to assume that woman would start crying. Yeah and it would be a very emotional ride for the next few hours with us. You'd be you'd be I'd be over and just that right. There tells me this is fascinating as an anthropologist. This is a completely different courting cultures again. Not We're not saying all gay guys do this in your either culture. You're emerged in is dramatically different than the one I was and I find that fascinating I love it if zero judgment of it. It's just completely different and I think it's very interesting. That geyser like yeah cool I get it but I do like about it. Is that for me? I don't think about it afterwards. If these people were leaving and I was like I shouldn't have done that. I feel bad about myself was I mean to him. I have none of that either. That makes me sociopath or it's just transactional no I really do think it is transactional. And I've never ever had a really bad experience as far as violence or scary or robberies. Which is what most people would think about. You have so many people coming to your house your actual house. Yeah that's a liability or what I what I think the truth is in. You know what the responses of they..

"I don't I don't put myself in his category put myself in really anyone's. I just feel like, you know, Dax I tell people all the time. It's just like you gotta really go. Listen to Dax now if you listen to a song like she cheated again, or you listen to a song like all night long or no capital. You're not gonna pigeonholed it. The Dax newer in YouTube rapper whatever you wanna call it. I just feel like it's always just a matter of time. I tell people all the time. It's like you. I used to watch Drake on the grassy. Jimmy. I remember when Jimmy was running like this. You see them has right left right before the scene where he gets shot shot and I knew him as Jimmy right? And now, I'm just like damn has Drake. Yeah. So I always tell people who are trying to do the music thing is like you can like try to do it. You know, the conventional way and maybe wish on a prayer. It's going to work or you can go and get it out the fuck and mud and make it happen. And just you know, have that that Drake mentality from Jimmy to Drake Montana. Demolish the world has no shortage of people who are salty because they think that they have a lot of musical talent. But you know, people who have good better gimmicks are getting the attention like everybody's mad as fuck about that. But they don't get is that promoting yourself is a big part of the skill set is not just about the music. We all know people who are going to make music who have absolutely nothing going for him. It's you know, you have to not promote yourself, especially these days like back in the day. I would have been an issue of promoting yourself through fug in, you know, the source and double XL MTV and having those relationships now, you have a direct relationship with your fans. And exactly and you've got you've got to take it, man. You gotta you gotta do what's right for you. There is no right way to become what you want to become you gotta you gotta you gotta see an opportunity grab it. That's why I say it's a boy d-actually back in like a bath. You want something go grab a seat opportunity, grabbing once you grab it us an opportunity to jump to the next one boom cracks do you have any kind of exile the about like being able to put songs out? They'll do well that don't have anything to do with current events or any kind of like marketing, or is that always like a part of it in your mind is like, okay, I'm gonna have I'm going to have this as a way to get people to appreciate the song more. Well for me. It's like, I only make music based upon my life like people always. Oh, man. We run by yourself is because that's all I know is myself. So it's like everything I do is story based depending on what's going on in my life. So it will never be like you'll be like oh he's advertising on. I'm just I'm just living where I'm living. And that's what's coming next. Right. You know what I mean? So I never fear at the end of the I know if I signed to a major label and had all that shit that that most, you know, some of these huge artists have I'd be what at that point. I know that's coming. Eventually, we've been having those conversations definitely with the labels. Definitely feel about him. I feel great. I feel blessed in early favorite. I feel blessed to think that you're going to be capable of like continuing to execute your vision even with a label like potentially getting in there. Getting in the way, I'm very, yeah. I feel very good about. Future perspectives of know label involving themselves in the I feel really good. You sound like you're already signed. Not definitely not no definitely not resigned. Daniel Dax entertain everybody who's not saw or who is signed says that they're not Zayn for the record. So there's no real sign. I was telling I'm not saying would you really I'm not saying you can make yourself and industry planet these days. I just decided not to talk about it. When you get signed. And let's ask Dr Dax Dr Dax how do I tell my husband that his favorite position is not as my least favorite? Okay. Lau. Wow. And you mean like got an airplane like he likes the window seat? And you liked the windows eight. Route. Wait, how long have we been married? Five years. Longtime longtime to not be in your favorite position. Yeah. I'm gonna make some really general broad statements about the sexes and gender. And it's probably give me in hot water. But I'll just say this. I have a hard time believing that your husband has a hard time getting to the finish line. Now. He he's a man he could probably get to the finish line jobs easy. You know, I think we should prioritize you getting in the finish line. So here's my solution is let's start things off in his position. I don't know what that is. Is it in the bedroom? The kitchen. The Wally outbreaks, heavy machinery. Maybe it's just it's maybe he likes to be outdoors more thinking of things that are so basic, but you're trying to get her to say what it is. And she's not going to. I hope. So I would suggest I would say Hon. You know, what let's let's start things off you go crazy. It's your turn midway through. Let's swap. What's switch it up? "And carly was little and she would crawl around on us and david was reading david copperfield in school required reading and i would read chapters of david copperfield and we would all be snuggled under the covers and we would spend the whole day it'd be like lunchtime oh i'd go down to the kitchen and bring more food back up and we would just it was just so so happy it was the best was and it was euphoric and it was drug like and it was so opposite of the rest of the week thy i got this association with like i don't even know how to describe it but just like real highs lows highs lows highs lows and not even like i when i think back in that time there is a period of my childhood where i do remember being lonely which is coming up but at the time i don't feel that i remember like being friends with trevor and i had all these friends and i felt like you around enough and then i remember those saturdays but clearly now that have kids and i'm aware of how much time my job affords me whip them and i recognize well there's no way you're as good of afforded that much time you know i'm was probably on my own more than say my kids are or whatever is he i remember like when i was on midnights that i would try to stay awake during the day with carly and that was why i took midnight so i could still be with carly and then i would leave at eleven forty five to get to work but after dinner in carly was in bed i would lay on the floor with you david because i wanted to have time with you and be with you huh so we'd put the pillows on the floor by the tv and you guys would watch tv show and i'd have one of you on each side of me with my arm around you they were terrorists i would be so tired and i'd be asleep and i would hear them they would like clap their hands really louder they'd say or hear them say mom not and i'm half asleep i'm so tired and they would say we're taking the car we're going up to kroger can we have money all right and i'd say through my purse and they let me also add on top of all the jobs and the divorce and everything that was going on david and i were also fucking terrible kids i mean we fought nonstop we were gone stanley in a fight anyone l dollars you on my tension floyd we we fought nonstop i can only imagine what it was like the only that so anyways you and greg you get divorced and then you meet another man will keep him anonymous because he's still alive and you've now been through this twice what what was it that this time around you're like fuck out i think i'm going to go for it again what did you have to talk yourself into that or i very candidly i will tell you that we had a visit from my inlaws and they were sitting in the family room and they started openly talking about how good my two step children were in how awful my three biological children were because we had custody of all five and they started talking about it and i said to them marie uncomfortable with you speaking badly about my children and i need to ask you to stop and they kept going and i asked him again and when they kept going third time which i actually think it was choreographed by my husband and i just stood up and yelled down to your bedroom dax pack your shit we're out here and i win in the kitchen and got a garbage bag and i went to carly's bedroom and started throwing her shouldn't in my shit in and and we decks came running up from the lower level with his bag and david ran arve is better with his begging we got in the kerala but what had happened just prior to this happening it was all in one weekend while they were visiting and i was so miserably quick as we skipped over you met.

"That i'm sure what is maybe hard to admit after the fact that he was also giving you something he was in or at some point did yeah so there's also that that well maybe that'll come back or that well i think that there's there's something else involved here that maybe i don't know if anybody else can relate to this but maybe it's only the time are the air that i grew up in but being prom queen or being the head cheerleader are all those things that we when we're very young and impressionable and you know we haven't got things figured out those things kinda cement like i don't want to say maybe values are criteria to judge yourself by owl's and yeah and so i think that we become for me somebody telling you you're pretty and that they want yance to be desired and those butterflies that you feel in a relationship become very addictive there absolutely i mean it's it's a high for sure it's a drunk yeah and so like any other drug it's like i feel like when i would get in that situation and what would happen was in cycle was that get out of a very bad relationship and so then i would be alone because i'm not going to be bamboozled again i just need to protect my kids and be with my kids and you get so lonely that the first person that comes along that suspects that feeds into that and supplies you that drug again yes and so there you are down that path again yeah that validation i think is the most powerful i in an eye while i take responsibility for my own actions i think that a lot of our society really sets females up for that i mean every advertisement is you look hot in then a guy you tell you doug allegation yeah that's how you find love yeah it's so when i finally met the barton by then i was so jaded yeah that when a nice guy came along i mean like i remember we went a couple years where he had a negation rate for me that i just would not accept because every time he would say i would say i'm not good at this yeah i'm not good at the the pattern shows one thing now i'm a failure at this i'm i can't i can't i don't know how to be married nia did it i finally did it and it's surprising that i did do it because even debt can tell you the day of my wedding david begged me not to do it he said i can't pick you up again mom well yeah i'm sure we'll talk about it but i wanna know how you met him blind date oh oh i'd never figured out on my own yeah that's what it took somebody yeah if i if i had to figure it out on my own i still believe that like let's if i should ever date again which right at this moment i have no intention of i would not date without like decks picking up the person or something you know like somebody i trust that's how i feel okay the one little thing i want to go over before we move off of greg in tehran all that is to me i feel like this is where my first introduction to be no love attic kind of starts because in by the way these are my memories alive so i'm not being critical of this i'm just aware of it you work so much you had so much going on i know where you were so fucking tired you're cleaning the house you were making all of our meals i'd sincerely don't know how you do it kristen i can barely do it with carly help him and monica helping and everyone else being in having money i don't know how it's done i don't think you do either but the way we dealt with that is saturdays we would often just get in the bed we'd get be allowed to come to your room and we would lay in bed a virtually all day long and snuggle is that your memory of oh my it's my favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite memory in my whole if you know how if you could time travel yes the moment i would go back to would be those weekends where we would start in the morning we would have breakfast in my bed.

"It will be self defense and it'll be okay and i stood for very long time and then to thoughts ran through the first one which was not the most overpowering which was if i don't kill him in the first swing he'll get up and use the pan on me out yeah the second thought which is the one that one was if you kill him and if you don't get off on self defense the kids will be alone i cannot use my kids i went back upstairs and locked the door and i did not do it but that's how desperate i was i was very we saved you a couple of times throughout your life right that same rationale or you were contemplating hurting yourself and that kind of was the yes the life raft yeah that's it because i knew because at that time your dad was using very heavily and my family lived far away and it was like i was literally all that you guys had right yeah gray and hourly dad couldn't raise the three of us yeah yeah yeah i knew that this was yeah i could not if you're wondering why when i just drag my mom down this terribly traumatic memory lane i think what's really powerful and amazing about your story is if you are twenty eight years old right now and you're getting beat up in your life as miserable and you think that's it and that's the rest of your life what's coming is so beautiful and there's so much ahead there was so much ahead for you i can't imagine in those moments you felt like there was so much head for you there was so much i i was so far you're in debt and it was such a my self esteem was so smashed it was so it was such a horrible horrible time that looking back on it i'm amazed that was my life i'm amazed you know because it was like someone else's or a movie or something in really does it really because you know well even i would say even at seventeen you know being pregnant and my father was very disappointed in me and made some very hurtful remarks to me and i would say to anybody that is in that situation any bad decisions that you've made that you've got yourself there that was that decision and tomorrow is another day in you can choose again bright duster knees off you can't you can choose again yeah you keep picky yep yep you're saying yourself not because that all my god i've met this lady a lot of times i would never think she'd be that stupid to be in this situation that's that's the opposite of what i was thinking i was thinking that how easy it is to get there so yeah is so easy and i think it's easy to say like i would never would never be me i would be stronger people that are like that in my opinion are such topdrawer bamboos lers yeah i mean there's been books that have been written called smart women foolish choices and it's like i know really smart women that are incredible i worked with a lady that she was like my role model and she was really great person set himself to school to become an engineer then got a masters in business and just all sorts of things and i know two different times that she was in relationships that she just like would come home from a business trip in her husband was in bed with another woman or met this guy and he promised to the moon and all he did was ringing her charge cards and stuff and network and left her incomplete debt like it happens because we want to believe we want that exactly i think that people underestimate that power but also.

"And nelson come back and give me a ride knows with my gay friend he was just the most wonderful buddy anyway this one particular time he did not show up did not show up and now's and this other girl my little buddies they were suspicious and they came back to the proving grounds like at one o'clock in the morning and i'm still sitting there waiting for greg to pick me up and they came and got me in they drove me home and they said you know welcome come in the house with you because again knows was very suspicious of what would be situated we open the front door and now what a brave sweet guy because he was not physically imposing albro him that's jewish is such a good friend and we opened the door and smoke is billowing out the front door the smoke alarms are going off the stove is on fire flames shooting out of fire in my children are fleet all three of them are sleep in the house and he is passed out drunk on the family room floor and their steak houses on fire this the stakes are on fire in the stove oh my god and it was like okay so you know noses putting out the fire diane's help me get the kids out of bed and out on the front lawn debris you know i just it was like that's the best very chaotic chaotic so shortly after that there was the the breakfast departure which we all know the story the breakfast departure but there was another there was another moment in that that i i think i you consider killing him at one point yeah yes yeah one time i had been beat up pretty bad badly and i i was really in bad shape and i was up in the bedroom locked in the bedroom and he eventually passed out on the couch in the family room and i got up 'cause it was quiet and i came down into the kitchen and i had a cast iron skillet that grandma had given me and i took the skillet and i went to the couch and i stood over him and i was so black and blue all over i mean my logic was i'm going to take the cast iron skillet and i'm gonna hit him on the head and i'm going to smash his brains out and when the police get here they will see how physically beat up i am and.
