I know everybody is excited to see Carson gets started. It's game, but before that last drive, you can see the calmness instead of talking to each guy getting a pound. He gave me a pound before you could tell he was relaxed and ready for this opportunity. He's giving you pounds down there. That's not fair. We don't get pounds up here. We gained pounds, but we don't get pounds. Here's Bennett on a roll out to the near side. He'll throw on the run, and it's caught by 80 Mitchell Going laterally at the U. A B 45 yard line, He turns down field at the Georgia sideline and out of bounds at the Blazers 43. That's a scana energy. First down for Mitchell. I play took a long time to develop, but D. J was just talking about the calmness of steps that you saw it right there. Rolling out to his left. He had a couple of Blazers in pursuit, but just calmly wait for his receiver to clear traffic and find a little opening and well delivered. Football. 12 yard gain. Allah handoff to Kendall Milton as he shakes a little bit on the right side runs behind right tackle. And works his way inside the U. S. B 40 down to the 38 yard line. "This mother. This is really a cool story. There are all kinds of complaints is we know extraordinary frustration mounting over what people are find especially older folks. Very cumbersome, Confusing vaccine sign up process. So this lady took it upon herself. That's what she does. She's a software developers name. Her name is Olivia Adams. She has two young Children, she decided to create her own website. After hearing from her mother in law about how difficult it was to find available vaccinations and sign ups, and this is she's on maternity from her job as she created Mac. Whoa. What is it? Uh, M o mask covert actions. That's what damage stays where she's Massachusetts. Emma. Covert vaccines dot com. And so you get on by. Think other people. Look at this. They You know what? We didn't have this in our state. It's very, very original. It's very cool that she took the time to do it because the governor and the people in the state of made a mess the local man, my God, the mayor here on she's so oblivious. It just is amazing. So this lady created the technology she had She knew how to do it. She was a tactician. So anyway, uh, the the the fact that you could look at this. Probably some other software person can create a Thing that works in your state. It's just You know what Yankee ingenuity and the ability that people have to figure things out? You know, we think that people don't have the younger you are. I think the less like the art of figure out things, unfortunately, but In this case, she's your mother and she's got experience and she saw the problem and decided to fix it and not complain about it. So the whole stand Look, the whole stadium looked full. So like if you were just watching from TV, it looked like a regular game. But it was cardboard cut outs. It was kind of fun. They had different celebrity cut outs and things like that and different fans. Yeah, so that's good. All right, Let's update the coronavirus situation in a matter of moments here. In the D. J. "Time for the weekly talk radio Review, a round up of the hot hits and talk radio that we get February the first to the fifth U believe we're back doing this again? Seems like about five minutes. He only did last week's as the time marches on Soto the interest in various stories research done by Talkers magazine, you can find the listed Parker's dot com. I think we've begun toe listed to JJ Kushner is here with Victoria Keelan and Jennifer Horan all part of the D. J V program, and we take this opportunity to go through the stories. The weekend. Kind of evaluate them and bring you may be a little more detail than what you've had. And because this program is heard not only among the D J V show cast but also heard over. The weekend. A lot of the same stations that carry the DJ be showing some that don't this an overview and the stimulation? I think much anything else. It's all about stimulation, getting people to think more. About these issues. So at number 10 on the issue slash story list is the countdown to the Super Bowl Super Bowl 55 he beginning excited about Tom Brady. He was saying, it's going to be a close game. And so J. We've been following this on our social media at D. J. V show. What's the latest in terms of predictions and perm terms of excitement? What? What do you sensing from our listeners? There are some people who are totally into it. They're giving their predictions. A lot of people are saying Tampa Bay Tampa Bay by 10. A few people are saying Kansas City and some people are 100% like I don't care. Next stupid question. Move on. So the people who don't care about the Superball? Yeah. People who don't care about the Super Bowl. Really don't care about the Super Bowl here and the weekend. I mean, who cares about him doing the halftime show? I am The only one apparently is gonna be good. No, I like him. He's gonna be better than people think He's a great life performer. Gonna sing any traditional songs. What's Frankie's dad? To you? Right? What do you talk? Like? What kind? I know traditional, You know, what would you like the weekend to sing this like it was seeing a football song. How about that? Yeah. Football, Son? Yeah. Number nine on the story list. Those FBI agents that were killed this week. What more can you say about that? Other than the acknowledgment We have a lot of angry people, people you wish weren't in our country which they were somewhere else. These guys getting killed doing their job on what I mean, this This happens way you're gonna have the lesson is this is that law enforcement? We talk every time about? You know when somebody does something wrong in law enforcement. And by and large, most of these people, 99.9% of them are doing things right, and they're kissing their husbands and their wives. Goodbye and they're going out there and they're putting it all on the line every single day, and sometimes they don't come home. And so let these to be a lesson to people who maybe get really down on law enforcement that there are a lot of people out there who do the right thing who are trying to break up. Child pornography rings and who are just trying to get back home to their families safely, and they don't And so I think it's just a reminder that you know, we should say Thank you, everyone. Sweetie, we tend to weigh tend to generalize too much. In our excuse me in our country in discussion. You know, all police of this are all teachers of that or all radio focus. Just that's nonsense. Everybody's an individual and they're different circumstances. Do people when they get into like situations were working like communities like jobs, they sometimes start to think the same. Yeah, kind of That have everybody think that all of these people you're right are in the same kettle of fish. Not not smart, actually. All right, number eight. Excuse me. We seem to be focused a lot as usual in California and number eight. Jennifer as is in your court, as, uh, the movement to get rid of Newsome, the governor. As a really gained some steam. The last This is getting real, Isn't it? The poles of sinking Democrats? What the Democrats do it. How big a story it is nationally. I mean, every time I turn on national news, it seems like they're now talking about Our governor, and so, yeah, it's really likely that they've got enough signatures may be already. The thing with California is that they? Actually we verify signatures here when it comes to these kinds of races. It's amazing how rules apply for certain things, but not the others because people were screaming about verifying signatures during the presidential race in Georgia. That didn't happen, But what will happen is by March 17. That's how long the recall effort has to collect signatures. They will start looking at every single signature and they'll start scrutinizing it. Did you sign outside the box? Is there a mark that is that not within the confines of the signing area. We'll throw those signatures out. So with everything that puts that gets something on the ballot. You're going to give it a lot of scrutiny, so the number is that they have to reach 1.5 million. But more than that, the recall effort is looking to get closer to 1.8 or two million because they believe that somebody signatures will actually just be thrown out of contention. So they're certainly going waiters. Is this an online petition or and this is George or I mean, I know with covert. That doesn't happen to him. Probably it would be George a door in front of supermarkets or were drug stores or whatever, but because of Cove. It This is actually online efforts so people can print out their their their form. They can. I think there's like, three signature boxes. You could get your household to sign it. You could just sign it. The only rule is is that everybody has to be in the same county. So what? You feel that what county urine You signed the box. You send it back in and that's how they've been collecting the signatures because of covert. They were also given an extension period because when this first qualified Tolo into petition mode Everything was shut down, so they were actually granted an extra few months because of the pandemic, So that's benefiting. That was interesting. This high school football player his post went viral after he called out Newsome for a wasting this past year. I think that that's e think that's a general feeling all of us have not just handed Newsom means last year's been a big weight. It's been very arbitrary and the way things have been done in California, and that's just Pandemic stuff. I mean, there was a whole slew of stuff stacking up with unfunded pension liability. All these things that have been plaguing Newsome. It just got worse and then amplified by his failure with covert. And so now the question is who runs against him because you're going to have a choice that this makes it on the ballot as to who's going to challenge him. And it's possible that that new symbol the recall make it to the ballot. And then it's possible he'll survive. He'll survive the recall. What would his lieutenant for 60 No, That's not someone who governors. Hi Squad. Well, she could, but she's totally in the squad so she won't not should be gone. Number is seven on the story list. Our relationship with China. And Russia. Some people talking talking international relations what went on in Myanmar, But the if you look at the pictures from Myanmar, the cool the air What you're not seeing are the same kind of pictures coming out of China because they don't let that stuff out of China. But if you think that things are peaceful and quiet, everything's wonderful in China, then you're sadly mistaken. The Chinese population. The Russian population. There is real unrest, serious unrest in Russia, especially this past couple of weeks. Because of the you know how obvious it is What Putin is doing with anybody who runs it was in opposition to him. M surprises kill anyone who has support Against him. So like Navalny has, it's not just that he's out there. This one guy with a bullhorn. He's got thousands and thousands of people who are behind him. Yes. Oh, that's what's really scaring Putin about this whole thing. That's why they tried to poison him because you know, it's not like a hanging or is not like he dies mysteriously in jail. They just tried to poison him and That didn't work, so maybe somebody is trying to poison Putin. That's why doesn't somebody already has my bet He has a food taster. So, yes,.

"On terrestrial radio. It's podcasting. And because the podcast platforms are censoring their anybody who's who's spreading misinformation. False, You know, you know false statements about election results Things like that. That's really where the main concerns and then does that every day, those cancel culture But what I'm saying that we are is what people say Podcast. It's free speech. People can be smart enough to believe it or not, I don't know. I mean, If I'm with start really talking about the news media, I mean, how long for, like, four years, we said that there was direct evidence linking Trump to Russia. And that was the headline on CNN from morning noon night into the evenings and have they had to pay one iota. Have they ever come out and apologize and we can talk when he was said to its crazy stuff, But yeah, it's an existing thing. It's the same thing. But what I'm going to go after podcasts. Why not go after CNN and it's not going on the right Right. But what I'm saying is, the difference is is the it's the user agreements. It's the end user agreements on podcasting. That's different, And that's that's the main concern. Is this memo from so that's that's really what the concern is, is not getting booted from platforms And so, you know, talk radio say whatever you want to say, better CNN, Fox or whatever, what, you can still do that, But it's the podcast platform. It's just that we've become so sophisticated, so much technology. People in and we're doing such a terrible job educating kids in the public school system that people don't get really what they respond. They don't understand what any of these things are all about. They don't know how the country's run. They don't understand It's free conversation there understand anything. Is enough being time The parents are somewhat had fault here because they're too busy is in on their fat ass is in front of the television said Not doing anything just sitting there like bumps on logs with a can of beer. Let's go watch the hook show And where's the conversation about whether kids so why so many kids who come From certain economic backgrounds are not doing as well with this distance, learning his others who are do you are actually doing pretty well. Under the circumstances because their parents are on it. All right, so enough on that. Let's talk a little bit, please about the fact that this time of year especially when we sit on our fat ass is is I was just saying At home. Maybe I get two inch 2 Ft of Snow outside. "Ken is here. Lovingly. We call him Dr Conduct. Can crone house from Lake Cardiology down, Ma Dora, Florida the DJ be health show. I'm Doug. Stephan. The weekly Get together here. Don't forget we have podcast that come From the information. We try to glean some of helpful information from past visits. So that is what becomes the DJ Be health show podcast most recently this posted there as Ken talking about covert. Obviously, lots of that. And then the nuances, the flu cases being down and the business of our vaccines, But there was something that we focused on in this particular episode. Report that claims one or two cups of coffee a day can lower your risk of getting liver, bowel, breast or prostate cancer. So if you'd like more details on that Check out the health tips as well. All the ideas that can brings forth are there in their main at D. J. B health show. It's Doug Stephan. Forward slash t J V health show or wherever you get your podcasts, you can get this podcast DJ Be health show with Dr Ken All right, so now back to the cove ID and protective measures That are being exercised to limit the spread of this. Well, is it the spread of covert of the spread of the flu? The general ordinary flu? Well, let me make some amazing statistics. Available Tip Peter's. This'd is really amazing. So first, let's set it up. So does the flu season usually peaks between December and February each year. Right Influenza. Just hear this out, typically causes about 45 million illnesses with 810,000 hospitalizations each year. And 61,000 deaths in the United States each year. It's so far this flu season. Guess how many reported cases of the flu nationwide. There have been so far so each year, there's about 45 million cases of flu. How many have there been this year, reporting tens of that? Not even close. Really. They're always been You ready? Yeah, they're only been 925 reported cases of the flu nationwide. Wow, that's a maid. So what do we attribute that to? Why Well, that's a really good question. I think it's ah lot to do with the fact that covert 19 is so much more contagious than the flu and we're all trying to prevent. Over 19 from spreading but worry mass by distancing by keeping our hands clean and off our face, and all of these things definitely help with the flu. And then another factor, I think, is it Is that a lot of this this year got the flu vaccine. All of these things combined have created Unique flu season and maybe going forward will learn from this and it may change the way we adopt Theo flu each year, But I also think this M R in a technology that's been used for the covert 19 vaccine is going tol be used against the flu, and we'll be able to Get the flu vaccine much sooner and much closer to the actual virus. That's there that season. All right. So what about taking a flu shot this year? Is it still of any value? Or is it more valuable? Can that in fact forestall the regular cove in that we're talking about? Is there anything in the in this regular flu vaccine? It might forestall if he can't get a cove in shot, and he had a flu shot. Is that gonna help you? Well, there was some thought back a few months ago that might decrease the severity of covert 19 that you got, and I think that's what encouraged a lot of people to get it. It's getting a little late. I would talk to your doctor about whether you get a vaccine this year. Okay? Dr Ken, he's here. Doctor came Crone has with Doug Stephan on this week's D. J v health show. It's important to think about your brain health As you get older. If you're experiencing the lack of sharpness.

Oh, let's see. I did it once pulling out of a parking garage. Mm. Just like deal. You know, one of the poles that you parked next to? Yes. And then pulling out and just it's always so shocking to when you hear Ah sound that you've never heard before. It is so loud. Rubbing your car against cement of any sort is loud. How about you de bone? There's a couple I was looking at a house in Minnetonka think it was on Minnetonka Boulevard. "You see that advertised all the time last year, Uh, they made the company called Know Vargas is a drug company. You see them all the time in the advertising circles, the drug Cosette IX. Which treaty flat all the time. Coast antics. Yeah, Plaque psoriasis. Right One, right? Yeah, that's up. 9% Ambien, which is made by a company that's headquartered. It's American headquarters here in framing him, said no fee. That's going up on average of 5%. Actually. How do how do you pronounce some of these things? Is it ever Dickie Ox or something like that ever detox If the deal X? That's when I'm not familiar with. I don't know it's of a percent. Humira, which is an injection. Yes. See those hands all over the past that's up by 7.5%. So there you go. Big history Boo. They all need to make money. No question about it. That's what we're in business for. To make money, Pay our bills pay for people that have jobs. All that good stuff. But you know, you get down to the brass tacks here and it just you know how much profit these companies are making its good great, in fact, for the stock, hold it fabulous. But then you know what about Isn't there some human component? I'm learning the hard way with my new business on the farm that it's all about. Money has nothing to do with the sex appeal of saving the farm or anything like that. The investors all they care about is how much money am I gonna make That's it period. End of story, and that's okay. Except I'd like to think Maybe not everybody thinks like I do that. There's something that is as great or greater that comes out of it. Yeah, let's all make money. I'm all interested all in on that. But then you know when you discount a lot of the other things that were in our case in this circumstance, the reason for us doing it This way. It kind of gives it. It's a wake up call for me anyway. I tend to be kind of a poly Anna. I think everybody's doing things for good reasons. And that's not always the case. For example, I want to know why Bill Gates is now the largest owner of farmland in America. What's he doing? I've I've talked about this on the farm show that I do if you want to listen to the American family farmer shorts on many of these same Stations that carry the D. J. V program, And it's about farm food, family agriculture, how small farmers can survive and stories of successful farmers. And one of the things that has become a problem is finding available land. For the small farmer to use and the reason There's a lot of people like Bill Gates or buying up all of the fun. I don't know what he's doing. I'm not saying necessarily that he's doing bad things with the land, but the land needs to be more widely distributed. The government owns too much land. And right now, I would say the Bill Gates sounds too much land. So we'll see what doing with it, though. That's that's really the question. Question is, Yeah. I don't think he's gonna frag eyes that really kind of the bottom line here. Powers creepy. I got to say. Well, All those people are being Beezus base is the same thing, you know, But remember, last week I had somebody asked me a question. I thought I would follow up on something. We're talking about last week. Memorize mentioned. Chuck Feeney's name is New Jersey and Victoria fellow that went to college. He was he came to America from Ireland. And he went to school here and he started selling certain little. Uh, I guess it was whiskey and things. This was Recently. This was during the 19 fifties he started was going to school and he bought some alcohol and was selling it. Who his friends to, you know, take back home with him. And from that that was the root of duty free shoppers, which is probably right. The largest retail When you go to an airport anywhere in the world, you'll see the duty free shop there. Right. Biggest, this kind of thing. Well, it was this fellow Chuck Feeny started it. And upon reaching his 90th birthday, he thought $9 billion, which is what he had in the bank basically was too much. So he decided he's going to give it away and give it all the way he has. He's really very It's very interesting. He's among his on the list of Forbes, the foreigner richest people. In the world. Um, the other way. The headquarters for duty Free Shoppers group is Honolulu and Hong Kong, which I found kind of interesting. He's given 100 huge for duty free. There are people who fly to Hawaii from Japan just to shift back like it's crazy. The business they Diogo, right? So anyway, he said. I didn't want money to consume my life. So last year alone, he gave $177 million to the fund against for dementia Research. $225 million to build a new medical center in San Francisco. $490 million to schools in the Irish Republicans. That's his heritage. 392 Bill, the Cornell University's new tech campus. Let's see here. 492 million to help promote democracy in South Africa. Let's see 832 million toward public health and education. Vietnam And if I go through the list here, he's given hundreds of millions for racial equality Efforts. Human rights initiatives, Children's early learning. Project, so he's given away. He's getting well. He's over. He's decided that at 90. He would just give away all of his fortune, and he's working way out, and that's an example of what he did with the money last year. Amazing, pretty interesting. Help exactly if you choose to do that. That's fine. In a moment what the economy is looking like here's laws were talking about dollars and cents, right after these words here on the D J B program..

"You realize that's just typical Chinese propaganda for the greatest? No. One. The world stops spinning without us. That's what they always was being used to spy on people. They're trying to get that chicken to get that into every country. So right exactly. That's you know what we've talked about in our tech reports, and it doesn't seem to affect American consumerism. But if you own a video TV, that's got mean that is there watching you there completely watching and that data goes right to China. So You know you could buy everyone's is all but I wanted to $100 flat screen. That's the size of you know of the bus. Okay, well, then, the tradeoff for that is everything that you do is monitored by the Chinese government in your home in America. So you know people. If you don't change consumerism, you're not going to really fix this problem? No, that's right. Exactly. Look for where and I don't want to beat my just a Doug Steffen. What a wonderful guy, But I take the time to find stuff that is made in China, And that's something that I feel very strongly about, because I'm I am so fed up with our country and it's what we've done to ourselves by buying their crap. You go into the dollar stores. It's all China Wal Mart all that crime most No, you go. I've told the story about find trying to find gloves to work with. I've tried toe find, uh, toothbrushes and clocks and even you know, I went. I don't think I told this story on the air I had to buy on my trailer truck that I carry equipment around and stuff on. Have we? The change need to be bound out. So we have chain binders, and I needed a couple of new ones. Do you think I could find a chain binder that wasn't made in China? I couldn't like I went by, Actually, when Madeline scattering stuff E don't change my mind. And I'm assuming it's made out of steel. Steel. Yeah, hold that binds the chain down to the body to keep the equipment for moving around. And they those air made everything says stamped on it made in China. Anyway. So, um, there is a looking around at some of the ways the Chinese leadership were supposedly dealing now with the there There is a movement whether we get the reports or not, There is great disturbance in China. Company, the country's very restless people who live and work there of Chinese nationals and become very restless because their economy has gone into the tank. Just the same as everybody else's economy's going into the tank. And so what? They're finding what the Chinese government is finding the people. They're sneaking the use of Twitter. I think that Twitter has been outlawed, hasn't Ajay in China? I don't think there's been any Twitter allowed. I have honestly have no idea. I know that some of the social media outlets aren't permitted there. I don't know which ones though one of the things that they're combating, apparently the Communist Party's combating The use of Twitter. A lot of people are discovering it and they don't like it because they're seeing thing. This is what's causing the unrest. I think they're gonna have a hard time keeping people away from All of that stuff, Frankly, um, the and so Here's to go back to the problem that Curry's just talking about and Jennifer The way that we have become dependent not only for what we buy, but where things air made the largest. Who do you think the largest manufacturer in China is? What company manufacturers more than any other company in China, whether they're Chinese company, or, uh, international company. What company? You think it is? Yes. No idea. Yeah, I don't know. There's so many. If you have to say is Apple bigger than Amazon or Apple don't know Apple last year. Spent $44 billion In China alone to to make their products and by the way that the turnaround with that is that they sell almost that much. In product in China, so they had to be something in India. They make the manufacturer billion phones or whatever in India, and they're sold to the people in India there the lower end phones Speaking, your statements are D J B download the most reason. If I go out for a little while in the afternoons, she's not with me. I turn on the pet channel, which is, I think 8 33 on my cable system. And she's now quite interested in what's going on. Who was a story about the lions and tigers. I think when I walked in on her yesterday, and I'm not sure what she made of because she likes to chase the cats around the barnyard. I'm not sure you do so well, you're talking about dog. You're talking about dog TV Dog TV. Yeah, well, this dog TV there's pet TV. There's also that you know, you know who created dark TV, right? You I was part of it. If you go to their website you see on their head psychologist, right? So they talk to the doc TV is kind of interesting concept. Not so much involved anymore, but some dogs love it. Some girls really love it and some dogs talk. Well, I think under the circumstances, there's a lot of stuff that goes on. That the What I've noticed in watching those TV shows is that the people of parents of the dogs of you will so overdo it often. Maybe it's just the shows. But there's just this. Right. They treat the dogs like they were commodity Instead of being beings. That's what bothers me. I'm so glad you said that because I just posted this about seven minutes ago on my website. So of course, if you consider around in your pajamas all day instead of getting up and getting dressed and going to work, you're going to choose to sit around. Your pajamas all day. I mean, who wouldn't want that? Right? 65 million workers. Have been at home during the last year. That weren't gonna happen unless workforce which is kind of nuts when you think about it, But I can see I can see several sides of this, though. You know all of my friends who are working from home now my husband included there. It's non stop all day long. My husband just said to me yesterday, he said, you know, because I haven't eaten lunch in eight months. And he just he hasn't because when he was in the office, if you think about it, I've been in an office environment for you know, many years before I was on this show, which I'm now doing from home. But you know, if you if you really added up the time that you spend online shopping or fucking around, talking to the person in the next cubicle or getting a coffee break or going for a cigarette break There are multiple hours a day where you're doing nothing. And when you're at home, everybody feels more pressure to be accountable for 24 hours a day I have a friend who was who works in private equity.
