"Works. So am I. Someone's gonna lose their job putting me on TV all the time. All right. So on first take there was a conversation about if Dak Prescott should Playing in preseason. So since I know Freddy's answer already, Myron, I need one thought on deck playing in the preseason. I think he should play. I mean, you're already or you're not, and I think we always think that we can sort of time potential injuries, and that's just not how it works. When he got injured. It was sort of a freak thing, and you hope that nothing like that happens again. But I would want that Prescott to get out there before the season, get comfortable again. Get his feet underneath them because I think there's a benefit to that. So I'm all for that Prescott playing now I don't think you play 34 quarters. Maybe you only get a couple of drives, but I definitely if I'm a Cowboys fan, want to see Dak Prescott out there? Church doors are open the right, Reverend mind. Metcalf has said exactly how I feel, because.

"They can get back on track just up to them coming up. Are the cowboys legit super bowl. Contender will answer that next on. Speak for yourself. Cowboys missed the playoffs. Last season but our own bucky brooks thinks they could be legit super bowl. Contenders said dak prescott return will raise expectations. He added that the healthy return of the old line and dan quinn's impact on the defense can be a game changer. So choi i'm going to try to ask this with a straight face are the dallas cowboys. Legit super bowl contenders. So it's a loaded question then from you. Because i think we already know which way you're going but yes i think they're legitimate super bowl contenders first of all. They have the best quarterback in their division. So they're in the best position to win this very weird division. You have dak prescott who i believe in very much coming off of a surgery healthy ready to go. Bucky makes a great point about their defense because their defense was terrible last year. So you're coming back with a better defensive coordinator jack press is going to be back and their division is not good and he's the best quarterback in that division..

"You get to go for a cd-rom thirteenth. I only judge him in my opinion. Based on what he did with dak prescott in the game with dak prescott. We know off season where they didn't get a chance to fully throw everything at him which you're doing right now. He averaged over sixteen points per game in those five games We all dot prescott expecting to come back. You heard what jerry jones said maybe the best shape of his career As you would to adam. He's he's ready to go. Should be hundred percent of now marker dealing with this ankle injury that is going to keep him out until after the first preseason game who knows if that linked into the season expecting to be fine. But i don't really factor that Cooper to me is the is the one in lamb. Is the one a when be surprised if those roles flipped. Cd-rom just a ton of upside. And i think what he showed us in. Those five games is something that we can buy into getting over the course of the season that will that was almost fourteen hundred yards. It's just like you talk about with the deck was on pace for sixty five hundred yards. I went and looked at the target. Share for index throws last year. Amari cooper was at twenty three percent. Cd-rom was seventeen. zeke and dalton. Scholtz where at fourteen. Michael gallup was eleven. If if that target i project lamb at like nineteen or twenty percent now so i think he's going to go up from that anyway because he was a rookie..

"Keeps her defense. Healthy scoring points makes the opposing offense one dimensional. Which makes it easier for the play call. I'm not sure that zeke elliott is the guy no he lost weight assam saw them. What is sexy apps out. But i'm not sure that he is the guy that they can put the whole on his back and he can alleviate the pressure that's on stephen it's gonna be deck in the short passing game in back in the passing game with ezekiel elliott honestly as the secondary option on his offense. Not the primary option. And my little the th. That really is the question here. The peak zeke. Are we expecting dan. Glaviano peak zeke which we haven't seen in a couple of years. Yeah i think everything you hear out of dallas is positive and they think he's going to bounce back. I think the big thing to watch there is the health of the offensive line. they had they. Had you know third and fourth stringers playing their last year at some points and that affected everybody dak prescott going down. It prevented their ability. To kind of mitigate that so you look at tyron smith. And and zack martin. All these guys that are back. I think that's the critical thing. Zeke elliott apparently in shape. Expectations are high. My understanding talking to people in dallas or in oxnard. Is that all the positive stuff. That breeds seated camp in terms. Of dak prescott zeke elliott etc. Looks good. there's still some concerns about that defense final and then everything you're saying we're all saying the same thing. It's a passing league right now. They're gonna pass a sixty five percent of time but in that thirty five percent that they're going to run. The football zeke has to be dominant the way it used to be through. Those are the two words to keep in mind. And they ryan peak zeke. Will we see it again in dallas. All right we're just getting started as we continue. Despite turmoil surrounding the opening packers camp devout. They adams has reason to smile this morning. And you will see why just moments from now and then once again. Dallas Cowboys to Be on HBO's 'Hard Knocks' for Third Time
"In hard knocks with the Dallas Cowboys as they report to camp tomorrow, by the way, so this is their third time. The Cowboys first appeared on hard knocks in 2002 and finished with a five and 11 record that season. Yeah, Uh, they then appeared a second time in 2008. And they missed the postseason with a nine in seven record. With an uber talented team that was done in partly because of locker room turmoil. Now it is the second season. Under a really a new head coach Mike McCarthy. I mean, last year was his first year with the team. And you know he had injured quarterback last year in Dak Prescott. We saw that just gruesome ankle dislocation injury, which was rough, and, um, There you go. They're gonna be on it for a third time. So you said there are things that we are not

She actually studied german university and was living in austria when she felt a deep longing to learn about her own culture. The best way. Cowboys' Mike McCarthy reacts to Dak Prescott contract
"Talk about the cowboys. Were coming off a disappointing first season under head coach. Mike mccarthy but looking ahead there is all kinds of hope after they signed prescott finally to that long-term deal yesterday. The coach spoke about his expectations. Here's what he said was actually I was in florida when the deals was finally completed It's a lot easier to do cartwheels on the sand. I'll say that I'm excited about your two of the offense because frankly a lot of ways we felt like we didn't really have get to have your one so we're excited about what we can do. This with the healthy offense.
Will the Lawsuits Against Watson Stall 1st-Round Picks?
"At this point. There have been thirteen civil lawsuits. I think got it is literally not trying to make light of its changing by the hour. Sarah barshop covers. The texans for us is constantly reporting these new lawsuits alleging sexual harassment. Or in some cases. Assault against the shawn watson I have just been sitting back waiting for the news to come in reading the suits. Watson's lawyers have not responded in full yet. I think there's going to be much more like a. We're going to get not just more information. But also kind of someone kind of synthesizing all of this and explaining what it means for watson and i'm not talking about football just like what it means for his future in and what it means for these women forward i like. I'm not i haven't been doing this. Just been kind of going with the news and waiting for it. All of this. As like. I find i have found the discourse on it already to be incredibly toxic and dispiriting and the whole story. It's very sad in. It is definitely it also coming at this crazy moment. Where if this like literally a week ago. You and i probably on shows talking about. Will this team's going to do this. And this team that we just don't know now. So i just like i have no idea how this is going to play out. Not just for the accusers for him. But all any of the teams involved in this including houston. It is a black box at the moment for me john. Yeah and and. I think that you handled the non-football element of this extremely well. And i echo ditto everything that you said from. And so i'll have to say that. That exact thing that you just said way better than i could but i will take it to a football to a trade element side because it was what we were all talking about with the dak prescott contract for so long now because we both sorta gone silent as we all were sitting back watching not having take about it as we're trying to figure out and and synthesize everything It makes it extremely difficult based on volume and the details in the allegations for any team to trade what would be equivalent to four first picks Because i if you do that right now you're saying to your fans because there's no way that you can properly investigate a dozen claims If you if you go to shawn watson this week and so you're saying well we we investigated and we all know that that's why Or you're also saying what we didn't investigate and we don't care and you can't do that and And so there's it's a holding pattern right now And obviously role in the real world realized stuff is what's most important here but it had. It was such a gigantic. nfl story. Whereas the shawn watson gonna land one with the jay leno panthers give up and now it sort of disappeared. And i do think that we do have to sort of touch on it and say no one can do anything right
Did Washington Do Enough to Push Dallas in the NFC?
"Did washington football teams teamers and the giants do enough to push dallas in the nfc. So i left philly out. I don't yeah. I just don't i am found anyone who really thinks they're going to be competitive. I mean let's wait and see got jalen whatever. But that's a team that they're not really fun to talk about. Because their free agency considered like stripping you know but i mean they did sign at harris for like nothing which is probably better sightings but what you have in jalen also you serianni. Yes hundred percent but washington in york both very active and did interesting. Things i think are worth discussing because dallas after the dak prescott deal was finally done. They've kind of made a few moves around the margins adding kia neil. Getting tied as kind of swing. Tackle still have question marks at adra sure and coroner but washington like i think they might have had my favorite free agency or at least the one that i'm most excited to see. I don't know payoff on the field. So just to recap. They signed the aforementioned ryan fitzpatrick one year. Ten million dollars. They tag branch eff. Who's there Pro bowler guard. They signed william jackson from the bengals. Cornerback three years. Forty two million dollars and then added panthers wide receiver. Curtis samuel for three years thirty four point five million dollars so just starting like let's start here. Do you agree with me like do you. Do you like what they did. And do you think it makes them an actual competitor in the division. A really like what. Washington did You know. I think among the guys among the quarterback that they could get because not only were they never in it for russell wilson or or wherever really going to be competitive for shawn watson You had to start looking okay. We'll what's realistic. And it's the ryan fitzpatrick coming off his best his career. It's an andy dalton and whereas that really gonna lead you I think that there was a lot of interest in marcus. Mariota he still is not able to sign with another team because the raiders are still holding him hostage But so. I like the quarterback. Move because you're essentially saying let's build up the team the and let's have the strongest team possible around the quarterback position where we don't sell out just because we have to for that position free agency. Maybe they make a move at the draft for a guy that they have their eye on. Or maybe they just say let's. Let's keep the boat floating this year and let's make our move Next free agency. So i thought that they probably overpaid by million or two on curtis samuel. But they wanted him And and ron rivera really likes them. Obviously william jackson an incredible deal You look around and you need another pass rusher and they can they can probably keep ryan kerrigan as a third down specialist if he comes down off his number end so you know he's he's still doing that. He's gonna get paid a whole lot of money. I'm not sure that that money is really out there especially at this point in free agency so they didn't want to mortgage their future for for quarterback right. Now they wanted to keep the boat afloat. I that and so. I like what they have done. Specially on evens. Then when you consider the the sort of offense and the pre-snap that they can have with all those offensive playmakers. Now that curtis annuals there with terry corn. I really like with done.
NFL Franchise Tag: What it is and how it works
"What is a franchise tax. So you hear this word a lot. I always used to think franchise tag means. We're just gonna see that player on that specific team for the remaining of the season but there or for the next year but they're a little more complicated in that so every offseason teams have a two week window to plot to a one year franchise tag so once the player gets tagged they can either sign that contract or a long term extension. Which is the more i think. That's the more popular use of the franchise tag because a of teams don't want their their coveted players to hit free agency and they don't want another to swoop them without getting being able to offer them. I so these salaries for for each tag varies by position and the price is set by either adding the top five paid players from each position or it can be one hundred percent of a player's previous year's salary so twenty percent Increase in that salary so by position quarterback at least twenty six million a year with the franchise tag water. She was get seventeen million defensive ends get around seventeen million but less than receivers linebackers get fifteen million and so on and so forth. I think running backs get around ten million so it all depends on how guys are being being paid at that specific position so teams only can use this once a year and they can only use it on one player you can use it on the same player different years but yeah you can only had us one tag per year. There's different types of tags. There's an exclusive franchise tag which means players can't negotiate it all with other teams. There's a non exclusive franchise tag where other teams can make an offer and then The the team that has that player can match that offered and take the player And then there's a tradition. Tax tradition tags are similar to non-exclusive but players get an average of top ten position salaries instead of top five. So there's a little bit of a my discrepancy there and once the tag is applied teams have until mid july to renegotiate the contract. So like i said most common use for these franchise tag is not let a player. They want hit free agency. They wanna keep them around and then negotiate a more long-term deal to save some money and get under the cap for the foreseeable future so these somewhat can be slightly unfair A lot of players disliked the franchise tag for example on robinson is voiced his opinions against the franchise tag because it plays a lot of restrictions on upper-echelon players. So when a player like allen robinson gets franchise tagged they can't really find the real market value because they have that set price on them and if they wanted to go explore free agency then they could go interview with a bunch of teams test the waters and see what their actual worth is rather than getting a set number Just put on them so that's somewhat unfair This makes them have no financial security past one season. So if there's an injury then you know they just their value could just completely plummet. Under the franchise tag now players can hold out. That's really the only leverage they have in the su- situation but you know that's asking a lot of a player to put their public. Perception line put their reputation with the fans on the line and so most players don't do that but it has gotten to that point before so most cases players work at a deal for the tag comes into place in july which is the deadline for them to restructure. Or make that deal. So now i'm gonna get into what players have got tagged so far and What does that mean for. These teams moving forward. I player i wanted to discuss. Is alan robinson so. This one was obvious when it had to be done. Bears have a lot of uncertainty at the at the quarterback situation. So i don't think they wanted to make a long term deal without knowing where what direction they were gonna go with the quarterback. But you couldn't let player of this caliber and a player. This talented gopher nothing in return so in twenty twenty roms a career. High one hundred two passes for twelve hundred fifty yards. And he's only twenty seven which is pretty remarkable considering everything he's been through he had a tornado in two thousand seventeen with jacksonville. And he's really played with really bad quarterbacks over the years he's had blake bortles who's a backup slash bouncing around the league and he's played with mitch trubisky. Who's a failed first round pick for the chicago bears. And he's still been that he's had that production there no matter what. So i really wanna see robinson play with upper echelon quarterback and i just think if you give him a russell wilson someone who's above slightly above average maybe even just average than his numbers will go up. Even more is ridiculous so like i said he's a true number one receiver. I would argue top five in the league. He's either gonna play for seventeen million in two thousand twenty which is what his franchise tag number. I think he's looking for more around twenty million and easier gonna play under that contract or he can hold out. Which i think is definitely a possibility with this player just because of the displeasure. He's voiced on social media and kind of how players of rallied. His teammates have rallied rallied around him and they really want to see him get paid but when you look at the market value so he's gonna get paid seventeen million the tag next year.
Seattle Seahawks Today: Latest Rumors On A Russell Wilson Trade
"Originally or a few a few weeks ago russell. Wilson's camp released some information that he was unhappy in seattle. They have not formally requested a trade but it seems like the relationship has some conflict there. he has a no trade clause in his contract. There were specific exemptions from four. Team's the cowboys. The saints the bears and las vegas after dak prescott signed is extent like talked about and the raiders recently have back derek carr. They've given their full support. They they wanna move forward their cars. So that really leaves the saints and the bears as the final two candidates for possibly getting russell wilson this offseason so saints are always in salary cap trouble From what. I've learned about the salary cap they can. They ended up being able to just move money around when they need to. But they're always close to reaching that point so they're always during the cat but it seems unlikely that they will be able to make a move for quarterback this price in this caliber. So when you re comes down to it. The bears like the front runners as the most desperate team. Four quarterback if you've watched the nfl shares have always had quarterback issues. They've been in quarterback hell so to speak for the past two decades and russell. Wilson could come in and immediately fix that so the bears are desperate. And i see the bears as the front running candidate to lead russell wilson or land russell. Wilson this offseason. So when did all this start with russell. wilson is come out of nowhere I would say to myself when i first saw. Russell wilson wants out. I was shocked. But although it's not that cut and dry comes down to russell wilson. Mp carol's relationship. So they've won a superbowl. They made playoffs made. They made the playoffs. Eight times in the last nine seasons which is absurd. It's absurd to think there was wasn't been playing in the nfl for the last nine seasons But he's been assault as they come. He's true winner. he goes to the playoffs. he's clutch and i see. The situation is very similar to the tom. Brady situation new england. You had tom brady and bill play for all those years. Winning all those super bowls and talk. Although tom brady wasn't playing up to his level he wasn't playing bad and they had that loss to the titans of the playoffs. And i think he just had those two egos bill. Belichick and tom brady kind of going at each other. And they've they've finally kind of just tired of that relationship and they wanted to move on. They wanted to start. Something new. And when quarterbacks are with the head coach for so long things start to take a turn for the worst so. I'm not sure if that's exactly what's happening with p carroll and russell wilson but there are a lot of similarities there so it was reported in week. Eleven of the season. That wilson stormed out of an offensive meeting when he was trying to offer insight as to what he wanted done as on a bit done for protection standpoint and so that was the first sign the second sign is just overall. He's been getting hit way. Too much. says he's sacked. He's been three hundred ninety four times since entering the league which is on pace to be the most sat quarterback of all time which is pretty insane when you consider how well he's played and he's just been under duress running for his life literally for the last his whole career and so seattle hasn't found a way to kind of sure up that protection for him. I think that's starting to get frustrating as well. So but more specifically in two thousand twenty. He had a week nine loss to the bills. This was a defining moment for this offense offense because after that moment. Russell wilson had started to throw a lot of turnovers making a lot of risky plays they lose to the bills. The seahawks kind of started to scale the offense back like i said to limit turnovers and did not perform well for the rest of the season so before that game. They were top. Three league based on expected points added per play. They were the number three the top three leak and then after that game from from weeknight on they felt a number eighteen the remainder of the season. So that's a huge huge drop off so they really sputtered down the stretch. They were able to win games and make the playoffs through to their defense. Kind of picking picking up. Their play was weird. Their offense was so good in the beginning the defense awful and he kind of flipped that latter half of the year but he's also getting hit It doesn't seem to meet on their offensive loss of beat philosophy and he. He's definitely voiced that he wants more of a say. In the franchise direction as the franchise quarterback so all these things culminating into one is. Where would he end up.
Dak Prescott Awarded a Record-Setting Deal With the Cowboys
"Talk about Dak Prescott. Just general your general thoughts on the contract. When you when you saw it, you know, look it was a big win for him by any metrics put that said I gotta give you know Galesburg p.m. For five years and he looked at it. It was Thirty 1 million on a one-year deal and then you know the next floor 160 that's roughly, you know one 91/5 and that comes in a blender, you know, basically like 32, which is a little bit under DeShaun Watson. So if you look at on a five-year deal you could say hey baby over paid a little bit, but they got their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable. True. Yeah,

Dallas Cowboys Agree To Terms With Dak Prescott
"I you know, the Dallas Cowboys and Dakota Prescott came to an agreement. He got a four-year 160 million dollar contract with $126 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $66 million the highest in NFL history. Okay, which is amazing. Now. That's a lot of money obviously, but everybody can agree Jack was very underpaid for his first four seasons. So he's making up for it now dead. And you know, that's what we're going with he's making up for it now. Yes, he's making up for now. Yeah, she's making up for it now. Okay, let me know when you're ready for me to chime in. Well convenient page. Mike won't work during the segment. So he played his first four seasons with Dallas for an average of a million a year last season. He played under the franchise tag, which got him 31.4 million months. And as we know he was a star in his first four seasons, but
QB Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys reach four-year, $160 million deal
"Dak prescott got a bundle of cash. A bundle guaranteed with his four year contract extension signed with the dallas cowboys yesterday. He got his bag. I think the kids call it john. Well listen here's what we know the. Nfl is an economic endeavor. Not unlike monopoly. You either pay less than something's worth or more or in theory equal and you add up all your pluses and minuses and tells you how good your team is over what it should be
Big money brings bigger expectations for Dak
"You finally needed me. Dan Orlovsky, the great analyst for the Mothership. NFL Live continues daily throughout the entire off season at four Eastern on ESPN, Catch Dan with Adam Schefter. Marcus Spears, meaning times Laura Rutledge, four. P. M. Eastern daily on ESPN. Dan. Thanks for joining us. Did the Cowboys have a great day? Yesterday? The Cowboys did not Jack Prescott did Jack press cop Doc Prescott. His family did. But this is a big time swing and miss for the Cowboys. I think that they took a calculated risk. You know, they tried to be patient and patient and patient and didn't want to do something like the Rams and the Eagles did. But man, that is a ton of money to give that Prescott What should the expectation Level B for cowboy fans this year? This year. It Luis, You're stuck in second round of the playoffs. Sniffing your NFC championship game, You know, like here's Here's. This is what my comment is with this, and it's the old saying too much is given much is expected. This is why I was very cautious of giving Dak Prescott a ton of money or second most quarterback money. It's going to impact your football team and we can't snow sit here and say, Well, he's really good. But the expectation status, saying the expectations have to be elevated. Not only individually Hey, what are left tackles out. We still have to win the game on the road against the New York Jets because they stink or when we don't have a Mark Cooper. We still got to play good at the position because you're supposed to be And a difference maker. When it comes to the finances. It's a bad division. I still have to wait to see what happens in Washington at the quarterback spot. If they got a quarterback that I thought was a good player arrived. Patrick I think that I would favor them to win the division because I think Dallas still has issues defensively Offensive

NFL Franchise Tag Tracker, Denver Broncos
"Own ego signing the franchise tag is gonna make you more money. In the long run. You will make more money off the franchise tag because you're still going to get the big money deal the next year or the year after. And it's interesting for like Dak Prescott, For example, he ended up getting the five year deal that Dallas ended up wanting simultaneously. He got more money up front. I mean, I think I remember he was six years ago. Control. They got everything they wanted out of exactly right. But on the other side, he had to wait for Patrick Holmes deal to come in. Yes, way for John Watson and better And that's you saying the market on Lee goes up You is an NFL team. You are one of two entities. You are the people that set the market or you are the people that are reacting to it. That's it. There is no in between, and so you can either get out in front of it and pay a guy and it's gonna be a cheap deal in two years. It's gonna be expensive. Looking at the front end. You're gonna get a little laughter when you sign it. And then two years and then your best bet go well, you got a quarterback, that's 80% of the market. Or you're gonna be. You know the team that it's reacting to the market and get going over pay for stuff. That's what happens. You know, the faster you get the deal done, the better off. You are period point blank end of discussion. By the way. Marcus may also got tagged today. So is it. We're tying to justice that was expected, You know, Like I said, I can't go to the particulars. But I had a great conversation there Senior bowl with Eric Burkhardt, who's Marcus Mae's agent? We're talking about the situation and everything, And I think those two safeties are eyeballing each other as far as what the contract Sorry. It's gonna be a question. Which team blinks first, but this was kind of like If we go back several years, everyone Dez Bryant and Marius Thomas. Both got tags. They both ended up getting their contracts done, but they literally got done within the same day. Well, it was pulled. Teams were waiting on the other one, You know, to kind of see the framework and see if they were the same ballpark. This deal done. And finally Jerry was, like, just do it here, you know, And that's and then the Broncos like, okay, we'll offer you that. It is very same thing crazy, so it might come down to the same kind of deal And if the Jets can get Marcus made done, they think Justin's will get done first, and I think it will get done early. Okay, So I think Justin's deal we've got well before the draft. Okay. All right. I like that. They've got to well after that to get it done. So that's just my hunch. Um, based on what I know about both sides of the situation and and again, it kind of comes back to the whole procedural word that was used. That was the word that the Broncos used. That's the word that we've understood this entire time. You've been listening the program, we said From a procedural standpoint, the Broncos will likely use that franchise tag for the second time on Justine Simmons is not the intense and not give him a long term deal. People are misunderstanding this situation, and I even had questions today about okay. Well, if they would've pushed back the franchise tag, maybe the Broncos could've gotten something done. Or maybe the Broncos should have tried to do something like the Cowboys were. This whole deal came together in like 24 hours. The fact is, if you You with the way it's supposed to be viewed, which is what the Broncos are doing. This is a we don't want you going anywhere. We don't want to risk getting to the final 11th hour and all of a sudden there's a paperwork issue, and we can't do a bill. That's exactly right. We do not want to risk that. We're not gonna stub our toe. And so we're going to go ahead and get this thing done now and understand they on the other side. The expectation by all parties involved is to get something long term done. Yeah, um and how it should be used by the way the doctor getting it done in 24 hours. I hate that. I hate that term because it's It's not really They were close last year last they were. They were close last twosome framework there, But I'm saying that like it really escalated over the last 24 hours. To appoint, at least at some of the reporting this out there really escalated over the last 24 hours that they were able to get to the finish line right before the franchise tag deadline, right, so that that's that's the thing Dallas has been called. They were close, actually Latin. Not last year, the year before last, Scuse me. Before the first tag that September. They were close. Stephen Jones, They believed they had it. They believed they had it and they were. There were some issues with length and and how the final two years of the deal were structured and all that kind of stopping. It fell apart last night, but they they thought Dallas thought they had it done. S o. You know, I'll just I'll just leave that at that. And we can we go up but a sparse the Broncos go. I have no doubts that they'll get this deal done. I really don't have 99.999999999% Sure they get this thing done, Okay? And then as far as
Titans Trade 2020 First-Round Pick To Dolphins
"By seeing the titans finally Traded the offensive linemen. Isaiah wilson their first round pick Twenty twenty first round. Pick these kind of things you see this as a fan of a team you know. Just put yourself in their shoes for a second. I know i know they're the enemy if you're not a titans fan but the fact that your team has to trade a first round pick before the next season starts i s terrible man. It's as bad as the raiders. Have not limbaugh because they understood. What the hell. They were doing with him but he was later pick. But this guy didn't even get a chance to play. Because kobe did all that and then he calls all kinds of issues he was tweeting stuff out and delete and stuff. Titans saying get out of your man. They literally they treat him for nothing. They traded a him seventh round. Pick in two thousand twenty two for seventh-round twenty twenty one. I think just terrible it is. That's horrible man. If i was a fan of that team i'd be pissed and that's a good football team. It's a well run football team so to see that happen to them sucks. But i'm glad that they cut that in now. They got rid of that. When you when you see that kind of stuff grow him. Just get rid of it. So if you're a titans fan while you're not happy about the pick you gotta be happy about the urgency that he took the no nonsense approach to just move on from. It didn't work out. He wasn't working out. You move on cut bait and you and you move on i. I respect that quick action. You know when when is justified. When is justified. I believe it's justified in this case. So hey you know. Maybe the dolphins will have something here ability to work there. It don't look great. The dolphins take chances. That is a hell. I talked about limbaugh. They took limbaugh from the raiders to that worked out. Well so you know maybe this one workout. We'll

"Expected to what? You're pointing out about psychological things notwithstanding, right? Well, he trust it and all that will be weaker somehow long-term we'll find out but he's expected to make a full recovery and be back next season as a healthy player. Yet I think the cowboys now actually get to signed that contract to a more team friendly deal than they would have before it in the long run it. Maybe. Even works out for them because the cowboys going anyway anywhere this year that they may not be going otherwise like in other words someone's gotTa Win the NFC. East, I think it probably will be the cowboys because everyone else is terrible and then wants to get to the playoffs ain't winning any games. So that's the same with Andy Dalton or Dak Prescott whomever this year. But next year I'll BETCHA. Dak is much more amenable and his Egypt to signing the kind of deal, the cowboys would want them to sign and Steven. If that's not a longer as long term deal for quite as match as much money that's the risk you take by playing on a franchise tag instead of siding that deal, I don't see why they wouldn't like Andy Dalton's Nice quarterback. He's a starting caliber quarterback for a lot of groups consider solid middle-class franchise quarterback, and back already considered something a little more than that if not, quite elite. They're going to start playing the NFC east pretty.

"Round understand that but you but you you didn't bring up that is the thing you brought up all the reason that Dak Prescott should be set to be happy with one zero five as opposed to one, zero, nine in one ten with Jared Goff and Carson wins got. Now if you're going to get back and lock him in for a longer deal, you gotta make the money say that smart you gotTa make the money say, okay. You're going to do us a favor and saying we're GonNa get you for a longer. Term, for a longer period of time. So now we can pro rated money throughout the five years, and since you did that, we're going to give you a little more. We may overpay you from a yearly monetary monetary standpoint because you did that solid and compromise. That's not what they WANNA do. They WanNa have it both ways with Dak, Prescott. So what that tells me as about as an organization you, you aren't settled that your dude, and if that's what if that's the situation Dak Prescott Sedan Dang right to have animosity. Max Ryan, do you remember I believe it was Dak Prescott? Basically you know bringing attention to and and and advocating for stay of execution for somebody in Oklahoma something along those lines if I remember recently yes. Something had happened a few weeks ago. Yeah. That's right right. Notice how Jerry Jones brought that up yesterday And when he was saying about Dak Prescott Ozzy, the there goes Dak Prescott I. Love what he does. It's like everything that Dak Prescott does. Well, you know I approve of this I'm good with this. I'm okay with this he's okay with everything that Dak Prescott does except asking for the same money there jared golfing cost windscale game don't y'all notice that I find that to be a bit a bit noticeable. Not Ryan I know I noticed that he's always. Lulu Dak Prescott can Dak. Prescott can do no role until it comes with him asking for four. Vinik year and by the way I, want an average one, hundred, I wanNA guarantee of one, hundred, ten, million like a cost and went to a jared Gulf that's the only problem. Jerry Jones has with everything. Curious that the cowboys the cowboys are willing to go all the way up to one zero five, which is my point Ryan is not that it's less he should take those guys. It's basically the same deal but like that they go all the way up to one zero five but no, they draw the line there. They won't go to one, ten, one, hundred, ten, one, hundred eleven. So he could feel good about setting the mark I, do find that curious but let me state again the Jared Goff. Contract, in my opinion was a mistake, the Carson wentz contract. He has a chance to make that good because he's so talented. But so far I believe that was a mistake and I don't think that is as good as Carson Wentz. He's healthier. He represents his franchise well and all that. But I think the other to like if we were arguing about jared Goff's contract right now, I'd be saying the same thing. So I'm not GonNa Change just because I think to other teams made a mistake well. What we'll away Bravo, you haven't changed your position miracles do happen congratulations but the other thing about it is that Jack Prescott was advocating for the release of black death row inmate Julius Jones. That's what I was talking about wanted to make sure that the orders care black death row inmate Julius Jones Out Oklahoma. He was advocating for that guys release. That's what he was talking about. That's why I was. So yeah, absolutely and I think I think I think Dak, Prescott is moving more into his own right Dak. Prescott is now becoming the main that Dak Prescott will be going forward in the future, but Prescott is trying to get paid for the player. He is going to be moving into the future but also for what he's already done for this franchise and I don't. I don't. I don't I don't agree with the notion. Oh, because he was he was paid. So little now you gotta break the Bank for him extravagantly I don't believe he was paid so little because he was drafted in the fourth round. Because that's where his film said he should have been drafted. He outplayed that contract. Now it's time for an extension. It's time to Rio and when you re up a guy, you look at what he was for a certain period of time as you're starting quarterback and where you project him to go and if you can't because Jerry Golf's deal was a mistake or because Carson wentz deals was a mistake to you Max Kellerman that can't be you're selling point to me as to why I don't get my money I can't control what Carson Wentz. General selling point four for the rams and going forward for Philadelphia, but I could your other. quarterback the Dallas Cowboys. I think that is a really good. I think he's a good quarterback trending toward very good and maybe even great. If you wind up in the hall of fame one that wouldn't be shocked right but he is not very yet and he wants to get paid like he's already there. To celebrate state forms. Surprisingly great rates. We gave the song surprisingly greatly..

"Time to get this worked out in. You didn't do right by deck now again. I get it. The cowboys made offers stock. ACT LIKE I don't WanNa I. DON'T WANNA snowball, but but same time it I'm just trying to add. There's a lot right now. That Harry during all this has he east? He's got some he's. He's got some things to overcome in East. Got Some baggage right? Now is a interest season, which may or may not happen. We hope it happens. We'll see lasting is go say it to you by the way. Are you hearing anything on a noticeable show? Matt I'm sure you'll. Get out in front of them and they can interact with you would. Do your magic. Little Magic. then. They listen to this podcast. You make. The by the time we sign off here quite honestly. I think I've probably. A little bit more critical than you have been. To, this point in the game, and and you know that's a fair point. To and I, want to as well which is they have offered Dak Prescott a lot of money and they've offered him out of money for a long time they they offered what they described as being. You know a top five quarterback salary when they went to training camp last year, so so it's not like they don't recognize. He has value and he has been treated fairly. They have made a concerted effort. Spend their priority. Get this done. I just think that that. To me. You don't you? Don't let your fear of setting a precedent with a four year extension. Be The issue that prevents you from having long term security at the most important position at the end, the game and our understanding is that the cowboys wanted this deal to be five years. Apple wanted four years or less so that when that TV revenue comes in swimming, circumstance were now, but eventually does. He wants to take advantage of that and be. Agent you know before he turns thirty. And and that's understandable. Given what he's made. The first four years he was in the League not commensurate with his team, but If I'm the cowboys. You know as much as I am I I might believe that. Hey, you're getting paid at this level I want a five year more commitment. I want to be able to spread that salary cap net guaranteed money over a longer period of time, so that creates more flexibility to sign other players so loud you to be great, and for our team to succeed. You know I just can't believe that putting yourself in this situation. Is Worse than is giving in on the four year deal, because at some point during the four-year deal, you know you're going to be able to negotiate another extension that going to read another favorable situation for your super your team. and this is the worst possible outcome. they could have had. Their most important player and I, and I think it really probably all started. with what they did with the you know I think rewarding him for holding out. and May, and doing what they said, they wouldn't make him. The highest paid back in football that was a mistake and and that's played a role in this outcome with Dak Prescott today plays a more important position and I understand why it happened I. Even I even said at the time that I would pay Ezekiel Elliott because unlike most team's. The cowboys are built around. They're running. Running back, not their quarterback. Yeah, that proved not to be true with the way they played last season. Some of that being because their defense and their special teams are so bad. They're playing from all the time, but you gotta you gotTa Take Care of the quarterback before we take care of the running back especially with the running backs, not doing it the right way and the quarterback is. About to contract, and the running back was the first round. Pick you two years to control left. You keep your priorities straight in that situation, so let's let's. Let me, ask you this, okay. Let's say there is a two thousand twenty season. and. We're all sort of hoping and counting on that. Is, Dak Prescott. quarterback, the cowboys in two thousand, twenty, one as you sit here and look at the situation today. What your gut tell you. Yeah I think he will be obviously. The big risk for GAC is injury. and you know the way he plays the game and the fact that Travis, Frederick Not GonNa be there. Maybe that increases the risk, just a little bit more. There would for most other players at his position. But yeah I mean I I. Don't think there's any reason to think that if. thirty one. I think he's got a have a better you know with CD lamb with Mike McCarthy with Callan more more experience. I would fully expect act to have. one of his better seasons shown progress route the course of his career through four years I'd expect that to continue and I think then the cowboys will be in the position while we just let him play on the franchise tag again that thirty seven million dollars. yeah I think it'll be the quarterback for this year for next year. And after that I think is a big unknown. Okay and as you made the point today, the twitter for people that don't quite understand how that works eight. It'll keep going up and so there could be another tag that would occur in two thousand and twenty two. That would go up to somewhere around fifty four million, which is. sounds like pure insanity at this point and you. You would think something would have to give at that point, but you're right. If they thirty one four point four jump to thirty seven Yeah, you know you could, you could see them trying to do it, but up very very strange. Approach it. They've taken and I. Really appreciate it. We're in different parts of the country. You can probably tell, but still with Preto doing a nice job donation productions. We've been able to pull this off. "Before the four o'clock deadline coming right up. I think the deal surprises. Some people because twenty four forty eight hours ago. Nobody thought this deal was going to get done and the deadline change things as it sometimes does right before the franchise deadline. The two sides started talking. Talking last night, they began exchanging some proposals. They've come to a common ground here that they're just trying to finish off right now. We are waiting for the official word, and meanwhile while the Titans and Derrick Henry are now finalising that deal these trying to the Dallas, cowboys and Dak Prescott continue not to have any dialogue as has been the case for weeks, as has been the case for months Dak, Prescott will not get a deal done by the four o'clock eastern deadline. He will be playing this season on the one year franchise tag. Weeks months as has been the case for a year, but let's go back to Derrick Henry. Because it appears this deal is going to get done Louis. What does this then indicate to you about the market value for running backs because you didn't look very good for for he or even going to levy on Bell? Does this change things I? Guess, it all depends on what these numbers actually come in and I think also yeah, what it says about the market is this. If you've got a burden hand, you probably better take it here. Especially, considering how the market is going to be flooded with available options wants free agency comes around and twenty twenty one for the Titans I'm sure that they got this deal done on their terms and number. Number two, you know just looking at it purely from a football standpoint, and not just purely from a dollars and cents standpoint. They liked the formula that they have going on down there. In Tennessee, they like the combination of Ryan Tannehill throw to get the lead and then Derek on absolutely just put you away with those second half, third and fourth quarter runs with that big body like that formula. Formula, it almost carried them to a super bowl, so I think they kind of like the nucleus of what they've got going on there. They've got a young up and coming off as a coordinator Arthur. Smith Mike Variables hit his stride as a head coach so I think this kind of fits for both parties for Derek, it's better than going out there on the free agent market, and for Tennessee it's. It's like we'd like what we're doing. We like what we're building here so I think in this particular situation. It's GonNa work out best for both of them. It's one of these things where there's. There's common sense in the situation which I. Don't know if we necessarily see. Everybody keeps throwing up their hands at at what the cowboys are doing. This is something here in Tennessee, that just makes sense. Sure! Okay we'll keep. Lewis makes a great point about I think. Lewis mixed a great point about you know Derrick Henry wants to be in Tennessee Titans. They probably like Derrick Henry, maybe more than the market would like Derrick Henry. These numbers will be really interesting when you put them. In comparison to the other big running back deals that everyone continues to look at and saying. Teams maybe regret those deals. because. It's important to remember you know. Derrick Henry isn't a three down back. Some of the other guys like Lake on bell the deal that he signed. He's a three down back and so when you look at what. Lewis was referring to as the formula. The formula in Tennessee I think is comfortable. Absorbing Derrick Henry terms of how he fits into their offense how they decide to use them at when he comes off the field and I think they're pretty comfortable with that so. You know probably best thing for both parties. Everything included in terms of what the market would look like and how. These. You know how they feel about is quite honestly. Looks like. It's suzy. Out of this is going to deflect it. Just jump in here. Real Quick I. think it's important. Sometimes you know when we get in in these discussions about salary caps team building. I think sometimes. It's important to remember that it's not just always and I looked to this earlier. It's not just always about dollars and cents. Look Derrick Henry obviously is someone who is good for this football team, so you try to find a way to make it work with him, so it doesn't put you in a bad situation where you've regretting the contract because you want him. Him On your football team because it just makes it, they have a good football team. It doesn't always have to have this fantasy component to it where you can just go well, you know what we're just going to swap him out and bringing another guy and we're just gonNA. Be just fine. You just don't know what that would do to your football team. Especially in this era right now where no one has been together at all off season. It's true he's. He's set the tone for this team. It's t minus two minutes to the franchise tag deadline. And it looks like just to a fourteen tagged players, getting deals done before the deadline one of them he calls himself the CEO of sack nation, and that would be chiefs defensive tackle rhys-jones, these signs his deal as much as eighty five million over four years, theory is. Putting pen to paper congratulations to Chris Jones. Of course, the big name we looked at Dak Prescott for the last year could not get a deal done so guys just final thoughts on the future now for Dak Prescott Annika. He I think that Dak Prescott needs to be the reason why this team makes it to. At least the second round of the playoffs, and he needs to play his best football when they play their best. If you look at the quarterbacks that have done that drew brees. It's Patrick, mahomes. It's Wilson. It's Watson. It's once those top quarterbacks play their best ball against the best opponents that needs to be. What does this season Avi won't be a cowboy in the future? The! Say, say this just like kirk cousins said the cream will rise to the top, and what it rises to the top. You're going to be rewarded and right now that has to play. That plays well. He's going to have. Right where he wants them eating out of his hand, and he's going to get awful awful awful rip. The Titans and Derrick Henry in the final moments here. What's going on behind the scenes right now? We'll Susan. They go back and forth trying to finalize this deal I. Think they get it done, but there's still no official word that that contract is done now. There's sometimes can happen I remember. Muhammad Wilkerson. Getting a deal done it four twenty eastern. The paperwork was filed to the NFL. And sometimes it takes some finagling to Polish up these numbers and get the deal as long. Long as you submit that letter of intensity NFL declares that deals getting done date are extended by a couple of minutes here. That may be the case year with can we are awaiting official word, but we sit on Monday morning that we were not expecting more than one or two deals to franchise players, and we've got Chris Jones yesterday, and it looks like we'll get Derrick Henry here in a matter of minutes here. That's the second deal and that would mean of the. Players had franchise tags. Two would wind up with long term extensions defensive tackle. Chris Jones and titans running back Derrick Henry though that one is not yet official. We are still awaiting word. Just a few moments to Polish this up as we say. As we hit four P M eastern time, but it sure sounds like the deal will get done..

"Is going to be consistently great for us to give in to the demands that he wants contract was. For three hundred and fifty yards gets the bills playoff team. We could filter statistics wherever we ran five hundred at night after having chick-fil-a is a pregame meal. I mean the reality is is he checks a lot of boxes when you look at him as a quarterback in terms of what he does, and the fact that you can end up winning with them, you talk about a guy that's good at the line of scrimmage practice. Play here for the Dallas Cowboys get zero blitz. Adjust the protection loose. Add on defender in the end up throwing a touchdown pass. That's as good as it can be done at this level, and you just look at. The opportunity to use his legs. You know a lot of people talk about the future the NFL's guy. They can beat you with his. Let's well playoff game third and fourteen in the red zone, trying to protect the lead. What do you do I designed quarterback draw. That ultimately ends up picking up the first down and nearly scores, and then you want a guy that that can make plays outside of the design of your offense index Prescott through time and time again can do that route combination gets distorted, escaped to his left becomes a traffic. COP tells Zeke Elliott where to go and ends up throwing a touchdown pass. They were so much. DAX does well, is he? The best in the game is not the best in the game is. The debate about good or great look. We have that all day long. The reality is. You can win a super bowl with the type of player that that Prescott is he's in your building. He's been drastically underpaid for a long time. He's earned and deserves this contract and really I think the Dallas cowboys, going to find themselves in a worse spot for not getting it done sooner. I the obviously that tape points out some of his skill level in his talent, but when we're coming off of the season, when a great majority of people are saying, Dak Prescott just had his best season ever. Then you look at it again. quarterback in the NFL they get paid for performance in the red zone performance on down, and then when you do show up against the big boys that season and that's my point is. That didn't happen last year, and so maybe there's a little bit of deck betting on himself. I'M NOT GONNA. Let that happen again and I will go cash in, and then there's maybe a little bit of the cowboys going. We know how good of our our good our roster and I need our quarterback. quarterback takes us to the next level. We were eight and eight last year. We need to go to the next level and so maybe there's both sides going. We'll figure out exactly where we are what we have at the quarterback spot this coming season more and the cowboys and Dak in a bit, but right now let's go back to the news. That Adam broke at the top of the show that the titans and Derrick Henry are working on a deal before this four PM. Eastern deadline, Adam. What more can you add? We'll susie think about it? In this way Derrick Henry is on the franchise tag was scheduled to make ten point two seven million dollars this year. You got tagged again next year would have been close to about twelve million, so you're looking at twenty two million over the two years, so it was up to these two sides to try to figure out a way to overcome that to get. There can redone on a long term deal. He was so dominant last year, and it's probably in his best interest with the way that he runs the physical brand of football to get a long term deal done now again as of. Monday, Tuesday. They were not expecting this to get done, but we saw that last year Atlanta with grady jar, where nothing was expected to get done and low behold about one o'clock eastern on deadline day the two sides hammered out a deal and last night side started talking to see at the last moment there was anything left to salvage an obviously. They have found a common ground that each side is willing to give on. That looks like they're gonNA. GonNa get Derrick Henry done within the next hour by the deadline at four, o'clock eastern to lock them up to a long term deal after the playoff run that he had last year. And if you look at all the free agent running backs next year that is scheduled to hit the free agent market. It's a lot and so for Derek get his money now and take himself out of that market, probably a very good move on his part. I agree look, I think this. Is this an example of Derrick Henry being smart here at the last minute along with his representation going? Hey, look, let's look forward here. Okay? As of running back, we're depreciating assets. We start soon as they drive off the lot and we start carrying the football and we start taking hits. We put mileage on our legs. Our values starts to go down. It starts to go down starts to go down we're. We're looking at a cat situation and twenty twenty. One that we've already said we're looking at to be neutral to maybe decline in twenty twenty one. That's strike. One number two does a lot of free agents coming on the market in twenty twenty one. That'll that I have to compete with. Is Forest trying to find the football team that strike to then I have a draft coming in two thousand, twenty one. That's GONNA. Be Real. That's. That's GonNa be full of running backs that again offer cheap available labor labor that has less mileage on their legs. That's strike three I. Better Take the money now when I start looking at that landscape and just going ahead and locking in my future, this is a much different situation than with Dak, Prescott where you figure look I'm in the prime of my career. My services are GONNA be in demand because I played quarterback. I'M GONNA play. Play this thing out and trying to hit free agency. This is gonNA. Be Fun to follow for the next forty five minutes. We'll have updates on Henry and the rest of the tagged group throughout the show less than an hour to go before the franchise tag deadline comes and goes NFL. Live taking you up to the final seconds, which players will reach a long term deal before four PM eastern time it's going to be showtime for. Access to licensed agents, twenty, four seven, which means that Geico is always there for you. If only everyone was always there for you, like your mom when you fill out really really important paperwork on the first day of new job name, check birthday security thing. "Yeah, so we're talking about Dak Prescott and let's open the phone lines. James Eighty eight say ESPN eight seven to nine, three, seven, seven six, are we? Will I WANNA get your take on that Prescott? Only in this regard? I want you to tell me. Based on all of them question marks, and the slings and arrows at Dak, Prescott and the cowboys, and their relationship, and whether or not Dak is the man for the future for the cowboys. Tell me this. Do believe that the cowboys will win a super. Bowl wet whip Dak Prescott as your quarterback, because to me, I, think Dak Prescott is definitely in that top fifteen in that upper tier of quarterbacks in the NFL, but when it comes down to is for me, it's not building your resume beating Washington and the New York. Giants. Do More than just beating those two. Yes, you have to be able to win games in your division. That's important first, and then as you move through your schedule, you want to continue to beat some of the upper echelon teams across the NFL, but a lot of the resume. From is beating up on the giants, and the Redskins and I totally understand that, but at the same time I still think that there's still room to grow for Dak Prescott because he came in this. League twenty sixteen. Thirteen and three to start off, he's forty and twenty four overall in his career. You think a look at the number of touchdowns he's he's had he had thirty touchdowns last year versus receptions, so he's definitely to me is an upper echelon quarterback. I, just wanted to find out you just based on the personnel. This should be as I said last year. This should be a really good year for the cowboys for them to have incremental success of whether. They'RE GONNA win. Win The, super. Bowl in twenty twenty. I'm not so sure, but I say that from a standpoint of terrific offensive weapons. Why can't the cowboys be better than just be one out in the playoffs? Why can't they be able to make some noise? So in a lot of it's based on that Prescott sold in your gut as I. Tell You about that Prescott. You tell me. Do you think the cowboys could ever win a Super Bowl Dak? Prescott is your quarterback. We see Patrick Mahomes at the top of his game as a quarterback, and he got paid handsomely and rightfully, so he earned it Andy Reid earned it. That team was so terrific offensively. San Francisco by the way. I don't want to turn a blind eye to San. Francisco someone had to lose that Super Bowl San. Francisco was a very good team this year, but as you well know as an NFL fan, everything is predicated on having a cornerback de can get it done for years. We've looked at offense and we've looked at defense in the NFL, but now more than ever you look at the quarterback position, even young quarterbacks in the league. You say San Donald may be right collar, Murray maybe. Haskins from Washington. Maybe you always look at the quarterbacks that are out there, and you say there is that tier of goats like Tom Brady who's been there done that you see here with Patrick Mahomes, and then you have this young tier of quarterbacks. They're on the come, and so the NFL is rich of really solid quarterback play. Dak Prescott part of that, but I want to. To know whether or not, you think that he's a good enough to be able to get it done because it's more than Mike McCarthy just being the head coach being from the mid, west, I saw a ton of Mike. McCarthy's a head coach and he was tired to help with Aaron Rodgers, and so, and that was a great combination. Those two were able to Winter Games. But only one super bowl, and so for cowboys fans. It's about winning that one super bowl. I I think it can happen with that Prescott as a quarterback I. Just don't know when. I've always questioned some of the The players for the cowboys over the years offensively, but right now the way it set aside running game wide receivers. They've got a really good offensive line..

"More. Six hours away and if you've not been with us this morning, Adam Schefter reported here. That not only is nothing expected to get done between the Dallas cowboys and Dak Prescott by that. In fact, there has been no sense of urgency shown on either side. There's practically no communication Louis Riddick with us all morning, and the one and only Stephen. A Smith is with us here today, so Stephen Assuming that this does not get done, and then we view that as a transaction. It's I guess it's a non transaction, but in this transaction between the cowboys and Dak of no deal getting done and Dak playing on the franchise tag in your view, who is the winner and who's the loser? Well to me I think Dak Prescott is the lose all of this and the reason that I say that agreed to be quite honest with you is because again. He's gotTa go out on a football field. Obviously, it's an incredibly violent sport, and it's one of those situations right now where he's going to be playing yet again on a one year deal now granted two point one million this time. Time, it's thirty one point four million for the upcoming season, so you're talking about a twenty nine million dollar raise that a bad and we understand that the flip side to it. However it is that at a time when Gough got a hundred and ten, million guaranteed when Carson wentz hundred and nine, million guaranteed when we see the contract that Patrick Mahomes just signed along with various other than what? What they have at their disposal, even thirty one point four million dollars. That's nothing to sneeze at. That's the only guarantee that he hasn't front of his face at this particular moment in time, and in light of the global pandemic that has ravaged society overall, you have a situation where the losses accrued are going to be taken into consideration along with projected losses for the upcoming season, because fans and And not anticipated to be in attendance at least not in full throttle, full mold rather, and so because of that it's GonNa be at another legitimate excuse to curb spending to some degree and last, but not least even though Patrick Mahomes, everybody's been bloviating about a half a billion dollars in the end. You're talking about one hundred and forty one million guaranteed pretty much over the next six years. And a situation like that with him, clearly willing to accept less of a guarantee, then he had to in order to facilitate winning, and then you juxtaposed that to Dak Prescott, having not one going to the playoffs twice. Yes, but fresh off missing the playoffs last season certainly never.

Mean Let's we've given them. Lots of praise here on the show, and and everywhere else because what the cowboys have done this off. Season is commendable. They have done some tremendous work. I simply do not believe that the same group that did everything. The cowboys have done this season. Forget the fact that it's the cowboys, just that group of people that group of decision makers I. I rather I have a hard time believing that that same group of people. Think that it is a good idea to go into this season with Dak Prescott on the Franchise Tag. Because, it's not it's not a good idea. Fundamentally is not a good idea we have seen. The cowboys make sound fundamentally driven decisions to this point in the Odyssey's at an I believe that they are a front office. That is these we have learned to be somewhat forward thinking, and maybe they are forward thinking and a lot of ways they are simply just cheap, and that's okay. That's fine cheap. Every NFL teams cheap. Every person is going to pay less than they have to. If they are given the opportunity to do so and you. You could also argue the cowboys are brilliant for playing at this way because they're trying to save every last penny that they can. They're just in a battle that they cannot win to. They're going to take it as long as they can to exercise every single option that they have and in that respect good for them i. don't think that this front office is of that mindset. I'm prepared to be wrong but I. Don't think that I am so we'll see what happens. We will be here as soon as we have an answer. Twins Day promises to be a fun day. We will have a tractor. America's team with a with the poise and I don't know a few wins in their division. Titles as well I. I really don't know what the cowboys measure of success is. It's almost to me lacking a little bit of swamp self-awareness. Yeah I mean. It's they clearly still have questions about that but I you know. Listen I think Daqing Kirk cousins are very unique? I think they're very equal. Cops and Kirk cousins. Is it possible? This is not an easy situation for Dallas. They're dirt. This is a tough call for them. The cowboys are good. It's better for everybody. I I just. The cowboys are not in Super Bowl. Contention until Zach gets into the conversation. Tony Romo's injured. "Things like this. All falls on the head coach at some point probably soon restored we have been debating Dak versus wins all season in a culminating in two seven seven teams going out there yesterday and battling did what you saw yesterday. Put an end to the Denver debate. Not at all not. I'm still with back now. I think Wentz is the better physical talent. There's no question about that. He's better passer the football but one one win a regular season win over a dysfunctional Dallas cowboys team. When you only score seventeen points is not going new convinced me that you've arrived arrive by winning a playoff game or two especially with a lot of your players won the superbowl already teammates? Dak Jack Prescott has won a playoff game DAK Prescott is thirty nine and twenty three as a Starter Carson wentz thirty twenty four as the Starter Dak Prescott still has a higher. QBR AMD passer rating. This year has stalled for more yards. Way more yards than Carson Wentz has DAK Prescott has proven. He is a leader of men. He is a lead. I'm not saying he's perfect out a lot of room to grow but he is a leader of men. You don't question his leadership and neither do who is teammates in that locker. Room Carson Wentz. Are we convinced he could go into Dallas and handle that locker room because he had trouble handle in the locker room in Philadelphia. And I don't think it's a coincidence. That a lot of the veterans got hurt. Now you got these young guys that just want to prove that they can play in the NFL following his lead in credit to them and somewhat discredited veterans who weren't following his lead. But that's I'm still. I still have questions about the intangibles with Carson Wentz. He's been great the last few weeks. I do think he's growing in that in those intangibles. But I'm not convinced he could lead in Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper these big big personalities that they have in Dallas not to mention the circus atmosphere that Dak Prescott has to maneuver so I think that I still think it's up for debate. Who's the better quarterback? Yeah I going into the year. I didn't think it was debatable. I thought it was Carson and I understood the numbers and I understood that Dak If you over the course of their entire hire careers going into this season had better numbers than Carson. A lot of that work was done DAX rookie season when he was extraordinary and Carson wentz was a typical rookie quarterback years two and three Carson was clearly the better player but he'd gotten hurt and the question for me with Carson. Wentz going into this season was Kenny. Kinney stay healthy for a full season. Can he win a game like this. Will he's healthy for the full year. He just one game like this. He was better coming out of college. That's it was the second overall pick and fourth round pick he his peak has been higher. That's why he was on his way to winning. MVP and Dak his rookie year was a contender. But not really and since then no. We're close and the to me has always been about Carson. What Dak has gotten credit for is is winning games like this one and in the biggest game of the year Dak no showed and in the biggest game of the year Carson Wentz without any of his weapons had the highest completion percentage? He's had all year the most yards per attempt. He's at all year one of his four highest passer ratings all year and the second most total yards he's thrown for all year in the close in was essentially Carson wentz defacto first playoff game. I know he doesn't get a playoff win for it but if they lose their eliminated and let's compare that to Dak where Dak Dak this year show him against the high quality opponents DAK Prescott numbers this year against projected division division winter saints Packers Eagles twice in the Patriots terrible and two of those touchdowns against the projected division winners came in garbage time against the Green Bay packers in the game there around thirty everyone three Dax gonna mop up the mediocre to bad teams but this year against New Orleans. No Teddy Bridgewater. When you're three and zero touchdowns one pick pick a seventy-three rating against Green Bay coming off that loss? You're down thirty one. Two three two touchdowns three picks in New England zero touchdowns one pick against Philadelphia yesterday yesterday zero touchdowns a seventy five passer rating. I needed deck to prove this to me overwhelmingly. This year. Chris because I just my gut told me man when I watch these guys one of these guys I look at and I say that guy can be a star quarterback another guy look at night say if everything around him just right right. He's he can play really well and he's not GonNa kill me and so to me. I THE DEBATE WON'T BE OVER FOR YEARS I'm sure but Carson Wentz further confirmed affirmed what I already believed. which is the better of the two players? See I'm big on intangibles is quarterback. Tom Brady and Joe Montana greatest ever and the intangible she wasn't just the physical tools I agree. Carson has the greater physical tools but I think that clearly has the better intangibles now carson took a big except yesterday but again is still was a regular season game is a seventy seventy look who carson was working with lewd acts when working with deck had his full artillery there right Carson had not their last name was that he was throwing the ball to Dak had. How many drop passes six yesterday now? Gritty he missed some throws to some high throwing. Let's let's all over and he did any bash another intangible that no excuses I go out there and play so I I'm with you on Carson's physical ability and the eye test but when I look at the locker room looking at the leadership all of that that's where I saw with that and I I've never thought was a guy that could carry a team but when certain things are in place I think he's a leader mini can win. You helped me win the super just very quickly here for move Sean. I understand the leadership point but these last three weeks that might be how you become a leader of men in the locker room. He hasn't been around to play December football his rookie year. They're not in good his second year he gets hurt his third year he gets hurt a come from behind win against the giants and compromise win against Washington and then a great win to to keep your season alive and essentially almost a fact a win the division against your heated your hated rival Dallas. All of a sudden he now has had those was opportunities to win over. Maybe some of the skepticism in the locker room and maybe he's done over.

"For option. Because of course i advocate for all players but if he doesn't he's gonna you have to bet on himself this year and i don't think the deal will get done. I sola to you see emily. You sound like you wanna be dak prescott age but i'm going to be the g._m. Of the cowboys i'm gonna say you keep talking about carson winston well. Why don't we compare it to nick foles who super bowl his one four playoff games. He signed for twenty two million a year and i'm not saying it has to be twenty two but what about in the twenty five twenty six twenty seven million dollar a year range. I think that's a fair contract thirty four million as emily did point out i mean then you start affecting the rest of the roster sir to me if i'm the cowboys thirty drawing the line right interesting that you think that's a fair number but doc is way off from that so the chance of getting that deal done don't seem very good brian brian onto you. Is there somewhere in the middle maybe or you're going to go with thirty four mill now. I'm not gonna go with thirty four. You know there's something crazy about a system in which jimmy garoppolo is the seventh highest paid quarterback the league. What has he done for us lately. You know i mean not no fence but come on. It's a crazy system. Okay <hes> <hes> the second thing we've got going on here. Is that jerry jones. This is not his first rodeo radio. He sounds very sanguine about the whole thing. I'm talking about the whole thing. I'm talking about zach dak. Excuse me i'm talking about zeke. I'm talking about <hes> cooper. <hes> he's gonna get them all signed. He knows his it's going to happen and adak is gonna take his thirty mill and if he doesn't do it and he wants a wait till next to your fire but jerry isn't going to stress i i don't think so much more concerned about getting zeke's out settled interesting because we've certainly seen jerry jones stretch before but from what he said yesterday you could be right. Jerry jones reiterated yesterday. He wants is to sign dak zeke in amari cooper to long term contracts but the deals have to allow them to keep his young roster intact cash. What do you make of jones comments there well l. He's thrown out a lot of different ones. This was just the latest after earlier telling us super bowl teams. Don't need rushing champions even though all three of his super bowl teams had rushing champion and <hes> oddly enough you know now he's throwing out demarcus where they had to get rid of him because of salary concerns at one point in time. It's true. They have a very good young roster. They got a lot of defensive players players. They gotta pay soon. They have the money to get these things done but not if all three of them are trying to move to the top of the pay scale of their positions emily this has all been about posturing for jerry jones at this point he might as well say hey. Let's just be the patriots. Tom brady took less be. Tom brady. Take less money goes over well well with the cowboys frank. What about you bob mentioned jimmy garoppolo and to me that he's writing the cowboys favorite here. You're giving garoppolo a lot of money and what has has he done absolutely that prescott if you're gonna make him one of the top five quarterbacks in the n._f._l. That's more than being fair zico. It's going to get paid. Cooper should get paid but jerry jones is being smart. He's he's looking at that patriot model saying you know what they've had the best quarterback and a lot of very good pieces. I know it seems like it's out of character for jones to start being cheap now. We'll see moving on giants owner. John mara addressed teams order back battle yesterday. I hope he li- has a great year. Daniel never sees the field daniel jones. You remember number number six in the draft. "But he got better and you talk about what they did in his rookie season. We'll hell they broke the Cowboys franchise record are they are they matched the Cowboys franchise record for thirteen wins. I think you say that, that happens without Dak Prescott. I don't know if that happens with Tony Romo on the team, the entire time who knows what happened because there's a lot of luck that goes into football and people kind of knew what Romo was, and, you know, for at least half of twenty sixteen people going who is this guy, what is he doing? How is he getting such a high completion rate? And what did he do? He just what Dak did is he tried to fit in to an often? He he kind of knew how to run. And he said, okay, I'm just going to I'm just going to try not to make mistakes. Yeah. And he tried to do his rookie season. He did a good job of not making. Stakes which was kind of exactly what Scotland a hand wanted. The trouble is Scott Lenihan kind of always stayed the same. And now Dak Prescott, I think has grown beyond that. So something had to change. Yeah. Well, I ask you another question sidebar Dak Prescott what do you think of our good buddy OCC's posts that deck Prescott pretty much owns the NFC east? He doesn't. No, I mean, it's just it's just kind of funny. It's like that we sit here and we listened to Twitter arguments all day, long and see all these other social media arguments about other quarterbacks in the NFC east. But if you look at it Dak Prescott is destroying the NFC east every time he plays he's winning. He's in most cities NFL cities if they had Dak Prescott as a quarterback, they would be pumping him up and talking about how great is, you know what I thought about Dak in that situation like most cities, you know what a good like city, the Dak Prescott would fit in well, with is Pittsburgh, Lord, yet they would they would love him. First off, he's got that hard nose style. I'm going to get the first down that they would love, but you talking about third and fifteen in Seattle, that would have just like if that was the Pittsburgh Steelers and he did that for them. I mean he would be they would have a statue of him. I have a statue, but they. Have a mural up already? Yeah. Exactly. And not the murals that we kinda see about Dak Prescott Dallas less right? Ridiculousness. Yeah. So that was my, what if it was, it was something that, that should never have happened as a as I mentioned. And at the end of the article, if somebody had propose this as fiction, everybody would say, like nobody will believe that is too ridiculous. Yeah, but you go back and you think about, it's like Tony Romo was the big. What if to what if Tony Romo, what of Quincy Carter had never gotten cut, you know, Tony was on his way out. So, and then you and you talk about how interesting that was that Tony Romo ends up. He's on his way out to being a guy that they have to keep because they have to get through the preseason similar to that Prescott Dagmara Scott was rookie that they were trying to bring along. And they didn't have any opportunities after that. They didn't have any chances to say, let's, let's put this guy on the bench. Let's put it behind Tony Romo. Let's put it behind Kellen Moore. Let's see what he can do. They. They had to play him because they didn't have anyone else..

"Dak is the babysitter or if your kids are bathed if your kids have already done their homework and they're already a little tired can come over and he can turn on net flex and find a movie if tom brady's your babysitter he no cpr he can drive and cook fold linens he's gonna major and crisis management and knows the periodic chart unless there's a chemistry issue it's a big difference we went to every dak prescott win in his career he's night teen in nine and here's two things that happened with every dak prescott went on average he get at least one hundred and sixty yards have run support last night one hundred eighty he gets a couple of touchdown runs last night he had two he gets two touchdowns on the ground and they're plus seventeen in the turnover battle that stack he's that you gotta give dak a really strong running game and a couple of rushing touchdowns and they've got to win their turnover battle he hopefully plays with a lead he is the babysitter if your kids are good wellbehaved inority already a little tired invade the day he's perfect just got to put on a net flex movie it's all good but if the kids go sideways he's overwhelmed if there is no running game they lose the turnover battle he's facing a fierce pass rush it ain't gonna work for dak prescott if dax babysitter he still calls you occasionally and says is it okay if your son bleeds from the years brady never calls when he's may be said he asked things like hey can you put a fork down the garbage disposal brady never makes that call.

"The players voted of course tom brady number one much to your chagrin aaron rodgers sixth on this list of all the players ranking matt ryan was tenth in their car was xi and i'm here to tell you i think dak prescott is already a little better than a kid i love and derek car i'm sorry i just think dacas better so i think he should have been ranked as the fourth highest quarterback on that list because as you well know just to reiterate case you forgotten because your memory fades a little bitter advance a he was the offensive rookie of the year last year was dak prescott who would've should have been bologna and dak would have won the qpr race if not from having a male it in in that last meaningless game at philadelphia and he would've the clips both tom brady matt ryan and qpr and not only did he lead the team to eleven straight wins but he did so with tony romo having been cleared to play the last four of those games and tony romo after the first four of those wins throwing a party for his teammates to remind everybody i'm almost ready to come back to take over my team you are talking about pressure from a quarterback long beloved in cowboy nation tony romo as you call him tony romo jones the favorite son so to speak of the owner jerry jones that's pressure to me and of course dak only set rookie records for completion percentage at sixty eight percent and quarterback rating at one of four point nine that was a pretty great first year but to defend usatoday just a little here in their capsule on why dak ranked thirteenth.

"Aaron rogers and the packers came in second and dak prescott and the cowboys were ranked thirteenth because despite winning the rookie of the year in leading dallas to thirteen wins last season skip is doc ranked too low in this list laughably low thirty you rub it in loading or hidden kike because you don't believe it or do believe it from it's funny were doing this topic right after the launch or topic because there are two kids i am one hundred percent sold on lawns all ball and dak prescott he's not just became a they're they're both come one name players you know lawns owed act he's not if you say prescott on of you're talking about he just dak to me and at least my guy dak backed it up in real games last year in which they won eleven straight and let me get this straight recently the nfl dot com list of top one hundred players one hundred players not quarterbacks in the nfl voted upon by nfl players rank dak prescott fourteenth overall of all the players wrong wrong your teeth overall wow so that made him the fifth ranked quarterback is voted on by guys who actually play the game as you once upon a time played the game as a long time ago but we still give you the oh now you live where they boded dang fourteenth yeah well okay you once upon a time where players so it was it was it was so long ago i sometimes forget about them and it okay okay so in this case.
