We've had some big successes in the past with horses like hunt you know and and Ju just a lot of nice horses there Big john another multiple great stake winner and the fame Agent that sound hunt for mike has found kelly bay the neat neat horse. I think at the end of the day when we stretch them out until mile he'll he'll develop even more but You know we've got some nice prospects and and mike spin Definitely.

I left the program into into chuck simon and and You know he had a nice thriving stable at at the time and and I got a great education there. Well and then the years with With mike mitchell and after after mike's passing On your own and doing tremendous this string of of the turf stakes and of course Know in addition to say the word who you know as as what a six year old gelding he he. He can just kind of Plug along. but you've also got county gin and we should probably talk about mentioned gavi talk about mark martinez and and you know the the concept of getting these horses and making this deal with samsung. That's typical mark. He you know when he he sets his sights at something He gets it you know. And he'd been looking at these horses. And i don't know exactly the particulars of the of the deal but With samsun and we had some luck with some sam san some horses In the past like a ransom the moon multiple grade one winner you.

"In kentucky and arkansas. I've got that with my with my assistant in here in california. So it's just. I think it it runs about is seamless as you can have it in this thing given all the variables I it just works out. Great adding a little kinda say. It's more kind of like a satellite string. But i'd like to grow it a Some in kentucky where we can find better spots their claim horses Ship for stakes in. It's been working out very well. What what was joshua's background. Josh has worked for many a great trainer before me You know he. He's worked for tom. Albatros johnny Wayne kat alano a b- a bunch of really top horsemen and Was fortunate to to get him when he came to california with Chris hartman had a string here. And i had known josh for a while He worked for me in california. Then a couple of years and then you know he knows all those those circuits back there in kentucky new york in arkansas. They're very well so it was just a nice transition so when i did decide to expand my my horizons to have josh. Is the the point man over there. Nice and of course you when you talk about instituting a program and and having a management system and you know the charting of workouts and exercise and everything that goes into this You got it from from your mentor. Mike mitchell absolutely. I mean he. He gave me a good foundation along with our man. chuck simon. And you know you just kinda take which Which you like it out of the their training methods and take that wwe tinker with some of your own ideas and and you know. Make it your own. But i've been fortunate to to learn under some really good top trainers and You know work with horses at all levels. I think that's the key you know working with great horses. That's great and i think a lot of people could could train those horses. But i think when you learn training ten climbers and the great one horses and you can kinda get your mix of everything i think. That's the most well rounded education. You can have in terms of training horses in. And i've been very fortunate in that instance and in wanting trade that Anything well and of course When when it comes to an education even before getting on the race track that included and with chocolate a university of arizona and that an important topic. You happy with the hiring of tommy lloyd. Yeah that's a. That's a great program there. They they put a lot of money into it and Have a really nice setup now at You're very for the race track program. That's that's a highly I would you know really highly recommend that for for perspective race track. You know people if on either end if you wanna if you're looking at it to to be you know at at the front side or if you're looking to be perspective you know that trainer you name it. It's a very well rounded program. I don't think i've ever asked you this when you went into a lot of a lot of the students that you have a they go. They might go thinking they're going to go into the training side and they end up on a on a business trip and others do it the other way. They think they're gonna you just want to be in the industry somehow but they end up on on the track you know working with animals. What was your. What was your approach when you were when you were a kid. I was always But you i see that with all my Fellow students and friends that You know they went every which way You know after the program frontside backside But i always knew that this might dream was the to be a trainer. Some day and You know.

"Somebody of copies books he sent you. Because i couldn't find it. I i agree it would be. I wish that the iraq would release it. I don't know if they don't have that armour to camp. But they find a way. Because i'm not saying the problem is the markets probably not enough to make it worth it but there is a market because there are people. Contact me about finding it but you know it's too bad. It's a great book. I agree exotic betting a really great book. That was a good line. You've got a pipeline long margin of said that the the set it but we should let people know what it is that don't know what do they can figure it out you know. The joke is only they've been funny break is not yes. And you're the one you're the one who years ago told me. Don't worry about the audience. The the ones that get it will get it and the ones that don't exactly i think talking about who's supposed to be on that well either filled d'amato or read mandela. Well winds all of aim was pretty damn good. So why don't you get them on and get was great. I appreciate your stepping in on monday again and We will We will look forward to next week. I gotta go to belmont on tuesday and wednesday You know it's going to be a very busy week for me. So i'm. I'm not confident that i'll be able to come on all right all right. All right we'll Out thursday all right to leaving town so like two o'clock on thursday so maybe thirsty. Okay sorry for maybe never made here and you'll be fine without me. I would work for sure it would. We'll do our best. Those important trainers on i do. I don't do a lot of trainer. Pre stuff richmond l. o. There you go all right thanks. That was great anti selling. Everybody and he wouldn't take a bow but he went. I think yesterday or saturday. He wants seven out of nine. Seven on top winners. Which and this. He's i don't know why. Why in the end. He doesn't need to be defended his you know. His approach is so unique and so invaluable to the long-term understanding of the game and success with that's That's all that need. Be need be set but i did want to. I did want to give them proper. Give them a chance. That deflect attention away we're going to work will reach out to fill actually. I'm just realizing. I think i gave him the right. I think i'm i think i botched the timing so hopefully fills i 'cause i wanna talk to him about what has become. It's kind of a funny situation. Is winning all these steaks with with turf horses and i don't think anybody goes in any one direction by design. Look at jeff. Mullets mullins had a similar as has had a similar thing. Where you you never. I don't know fifteen years ago. Would you have thought of jeff. Mullins is a turf trainer. But then you know most recently in the last five or six years it seems that his best horses and is big you know. His stake successes have been with horses. And so here's phil d'amato to answer this important question fell how do you how do you become a turf training. You have a lot of owners with a budget with a one zero on it. And it's just much more affordable to buy grass horses than it is the big dirk course. But we've we've honed in on that in.

"The some of the voters. There are many responsible voters but there are many people who shouldn't have a vote eclipse awards and irresponsible voters. I was supposed to. That's well speeding into it. Stop doing that. Racing is contested over twelve months. And certainly a good six six. To eight of those months. There are plenty of big races for these forces to me and they should meet up and settled on the racetrack more than one race because everyone has a bad day i thought in fact the whole much of the weekend and i in my opening remarks this morning it kinda doing some some summary. It's sort of. It's sort of came at me. I kind of realized the kind of weekend it was there was a whole bunch of new faces that know the basically added to the respective in divisions in which they competed not only was there but an hour earlier that silver state. That's a real horse race right. This five or six forces were sort of wire together which is not usually the best assigns. He was that kind of race but clearly. Sober say is a groove and i was not confident that spot in general mildly. But i really like is prior raised just being radar superstar. Step forward ran wealthier. Worst iran california right. The deal got a big big the first to finish it was like a one zero eight that were staying on came back yesterday and somebody finally legitimised the shared belief figure from last summer. And you got a one oh six buyers evil think because there's nobody really heard of they know of there aren't horses working out there and one of the problems is that so many talented three year olds retired and say the top the very top of them. We don't see those horses. Run four and i'm not criticizing an owner for taking the money. You know ownership a lot of money game every right in the world to take one off the table and offered these deals but the one of the results of it is that we don't get seen what some of the better horses can do if they develop his four year olds but that doesn't mean there are three roles. Whatever reason didn't get the also because they do that much an injury the issues with sort of lurking in the wings somewhere and some of these horses can come back and dramatically improve. Mr guide had become show. The approved this year source as improving has to get a little bit faster to step up. Beat maybe the best sources but showing signs that he is you know you better know a deal So yeah potential. I think for some of these horses out there. I think i heard the charlatan come into the seven furlong race on derby day. So that'll be great to see him. Run you know. I mean i think that i act bob. Average probably more than running in the race at seven furlongs at a mile going forward. I don't know what the status of knicks go is after saudi. But he's out there somewhere. Marisol is out there. We saw see if and when they run where they will well and just on just on the four year old male front in addition to silver state. You bring up. A royal ship is a five year old but Cow country grammar was in that race. He's a four year old and then what about his magician yesterday Who came back and rented a a race to win that tokyo city cup. And it's a mile and a half. I get it but still this horse right that. I know it's a it's a it's a it's an outlier distance but but still it's a four year old made noise last spring that people forgot about. And and you know there's another worth is out there. Mr guy brand wars john brown trains. Irish is ready to huge race. Winning allowance months ago ecuador's way against the track nine buyers. That's the worst thing that set forward and turn out to be a decent horse. Well what about the one. What about the one yesterday out half that. He really got a ways to go to get there but yeah. I wonder what saves she. I'm guessing she got up figure in the low to mid eighties. I think it was higher. I think it was ninety. I think it was ninety one. Oh wow okay yes. These people don't remember she's chadwell. Horses scratched out. The cca oaks often impressive and came back yesterday for first. Start since that and ram fred. Pretty well to win. Let's see what was that like the race for six. Six mid card was the six Ninety one very good. Wow okay. yeah no it was it and let's also fold in. Let's use some of the new york results as well from the weekend and we had the two stallions stake races but the two phrases from a figure standpoint it didn't come back big but certainly visually that that bubbles on ice. Looks like there's something to work with their concern with her. Yesterday was where mileage sixteen was too far. Anyone buyers fine You know whether or not about the too far but just watching races. In europe she'd writing some third divorces but she didn't really finish that in those races. And i that was my conservatives. Funny they talk about the same thing. I'm not sure she's ultimately the mile sixteen doors that there was no doubt quality running. It's very sources over here. And we the first slate and one of those nate where those i think i think a coolmore type worse when one two in there and they were both. I think both i know slate was pointed out philly turf. I don't think they ran. But i know they were potentially in.

But maybe that's rab and won by a neck and by those she's never not running a effort and that's a real rarity among the top horses whereas skydiver i would say you looked skydivers best races. They're actually better than the best rates monoply girl but she's had a rate here there where she hasn't rubbed that well and that's the knock on her. Now you know big skydiver fan and such but way girl says up aside. I've had a few days off. Kind of knock. Our is who she is. She's also had credible campaign running every possible spot. She could arrive then some that nobody would have brought in and she's been successful much more often than not so i. There was an incredibly horse. And i'm sorry she didn't run race on saturday. But that's the way it goes. Manuel girl she always runs bar. And i think the idea the jackson she wore another take people. Did anybody thinks she lost. Aiding defeat is just wrong. In my opinion he just happened to lose by those. And that's you know it were frac- with horses used to raise more frequently. There were more rivalries. Forsa showed up. They want racist. Nobody ever criticized for losing. You know they were glad. They competed and they have another day and and you know what. Let's hope that bottom girls was diver with rooster. Get more of the just the breeders cup gatling hoping to fix the personal ensign racist like that. We see these horses. Meet up getting the chance and show to aside. I've read a bad day and maybe a good day. She can be some. Maybe not you know but let's find out but stop basing championships are day one race. Let's get back to running against each other not finding convenient excuses to to pass on racism. Skip these these things and not stop winning and losing you know and more worried about the competition. Winning is every. I completely agree. And and you know you've made that case in that and that point repeatedly to help people try to understand you know the the totality of careers. And what you know what. The essence of a racehorse career is supposed to be and and it's not the be undefeated. You don't set out to go undefeated that that that does because starting out. What can i do to keep it. Undefeated get outta here rather we open the back and you lose a lot you win. Sometimes you know it's hip away will weigh four-goal anybody think when those three at the wire together there was a loser in the ray will. Those were three incredible performance. You know young people criticize Winning colors losing by a nose. Personal ensign now. They complimented reader. Stop and that's show up. But the breeders cup created an easy out for people you know. Maybe i'd wait in the rear stuff too much Because they create raises the pe- the owners connections whether owners trainers that are constantly dodging. One another you know. We'll put the chips down one day. I really want to happen. I hate and then then. The voters.

"Got you know. like i'm sure he's acutely aware of her. And i'm sure that flawed new very clearly with russillo real confederated deal with what we put away. Well what. I don't understand what rolf grunge route plays roller blading. You're winning deserve any credit for winning only orally derision when he loses. It is absolutely iraq. Clear made the difference very dryer. Maybe over certain other riders. Perhaps but i think even iran would be the first to say. I got a good amount and less you know. Focus on the horses. Not worry about the riders. Bad was the us was diver. No fortunately she wasn't going to win if she lost by recourse the light or something then it would have been on them for not me the jockey replacement And i read this at laying talk about suffering the rider into a spot. I mean. I read just soccer. Robbie that spot rob sharp like that. Better go you better establish. She got heart in that position that she was in talk yolks which is not as she wants to be and then he makes that half move inside and back. Those never work out and i was turned out what he did. She was never winning or finishing. Second there will be sweeter in between those two. But whatever chance he may have had was compromised by a mediocre right not catastrophe possess catastrophically bad ride but not great decision making and kind of put himself it. You know. i just hard though when you great that sharply. you know. i'll i'll give you a to watch the hassle when practical joke that our second. If i go job had broken so well in that race he wouldn't have had kind of position yet. Which sort of forced his handsome instead of making the kind of close to the most efficient with and he's most efficient making the shorter races but still he might have won that race but because he broke so sharply and you could say the same in some ways for swiss guide. Ever you end up in a position that you might not have. I really wanted to be turned out with her. She was never willing race. So that doesn't really matter But it was not great decision. Making well i had fausto gutierrez on us great and back yet lewis. Yeah well he. He also acknowledged for people that that maybe didn't notice this when it came to jerusalem. He thought he was doing a masterful. Job keeping swiss skydiver hemmed-in and giving her no no egress in some key. Junctures of.

"Is the racist with Steve. I'm serious does it doesn't in We're back at the races earned six the we can't can't find Jimmy. Baker County excited all right. We'll get him tomorrow and quite a bit to do yet and includes Andy certainly tomorrow and Andy. We didn't talk much over the weekend yet but I know that this is a topic that the ref on I he he's talk at length about the hurting issues so we'll see the get Andy's take I I mean I picked Vino Rosso put Vino Rosso on top and used him and and code of honor as as as and frankly would have would have increased the payouts on the on the pick five pick four I so I it's not like you know the people you had something I would would've done better the other way honestly I didn't I didn't I only was involved in the multi-race I didn't. I didn't bet the race as as a standalone but I I saw the I saw that on and I said Okay and it's funny because Tamra Dick said that that you know they'll they'll dismiss this. He said they'll probably dismissed this and I said I I I wrote him on twitter. I wrote I said I don't know Nick said that that second that second bumping and then there's even the third I don't know I thought it made it pretty clear if if we were used to seeing them act in those circumstances if we a more regular basis and um I don't know if they if they would come out with a statement for instance you know and say you know we're cracking down or you know everybody at the same time if people are gonNA say well if they go right back. I mean the the the next time the next time there's one that doesn't you know that that that seems similar the that that doesn't come down people are going to say well. Wait a minute you you took down Vino Rosso. Why why do you leave this one up so that that's what everybody is going to that? That's that'll be the next acid test people asked about the Abel Tasman late circumstance etc so I you know it it makes people crazy but it's there. There's still unions involved in the decision makings when it comes to this in in this game there are and I keep bringing up the NFL on a regular basis well the because there's obvious parallels sets of rules and interpretations all right what else we got. "A graded stakes great ones on the dirt and and and create tools on the grass and and you Sony can kind of do it all and it's a good point because what he did with with Mongolian the groom sure you were watching at the end of the card I mean that was that was impressive and you know who he reminds me of right. Now is Louie. Sayas does has that same kind what what he did with Mongolian groom is what Lewis I is doing for a while now you know going out there on the front end and then sort of Y- in quickening and making everybody panic and it's a I love that style and this this is this a pretty exciting Eddie Development to see how see somebody break in like this and sort of just explode yeah I think he I think he definitely took the right course and in and honed his craft in Golden Gate and on the synthetic there you have to be really tactical because it really a lot of those races are one one more and I turned off the last quarter of a mile. So you kind of have to really know where to be so you don't get stuck in and then you know I think he's used that adopted it. Come here and you know where he needs to be all the time and and you know he's proven it with his success well had acclimate tackle nights acclimate and we'll oh yeah he he ran Iran. It's hard out I mean that's kind of a gut wrenching for a trainer to to see both of their horses Kinda doing it out but I mean you know Friday and have someone else would be doing the the same thing but I'm proud of him. Just as much as Cleopatra you know he said those fractions and still at the top of the lane he rallied and and try to come. I'm get him on but just couldn't do it and he's he definitely came out of his race in great shape and now we're gonNA take he wanted to win and you're in so we're going to take a shot in the turf. I I don't think you're GONNA have to set those kind of fractions in that race in you know and I I think it'll be much softer structure for them and and I think he can run a big race in there. Well you know I'm trying to think if he didn't do it on the front end but that year but didn't little Mike win his Breeders Cup turf out there. I believe so yeah I believe yeah here at Santa Anita kind of with a similar style exactly that that just popped in my head and Ramon you can't you can't reach for Ramon but it Victor Victor obviously with the you know with the map there but let me ask you to I referenced the but Golden Globes Win and you had isotherm in there. What what what did you think of the way the race turned out? Yeah I mean I I I think I think that trainer is is done a great job with that horse I mean he shipped them everywhere. He didn't run a bad race at Saratoga that horse he panicked got Kinda got in trouble. I remember watching the racing in midstretch and and but he hung in there and and I think you Kinda just I use that experience and race to to propel them. You know to to victory here. Tannin Nita and you know this track. DOC is it's demanding. It's a great surface great track. It's just kind of you need to be one hundred percent ready to go here. on the main and you know I think that the trainer had Mongolian groom or whatever his name was ready to it looked good went in for sure I took notice of him when he when he ran that a good race in the pack classic and I loved him when he came to New York I thought he would. I thought he would absolutely skip over over a a more tightly packed surface given how deep untiring del Mar was playing and particularly how the eastern horses who went out out there. They all basically drowned out there. They all came back saying how deep the the track was so I the surface it's just kind of these these surfaces that same anita they're just a little bit slower than they had been in the past but but I I think very safe and and you know I think you just need to adjust and and maybe your horse needs to Tabriz. You're the time or to to really be ready to go well. Your horses were certainly ready to go. Fill the total of five wins over the three days and there was also yesterday right you want something yesterday. Run an allowance with the with the Philly I think she's going to kind of be a nice little up and comer a little euro may mischief e and and she liked that little extra half half a furlong setup they had here at Santa Anita Ada that they debuted this weekend and I think she'll go up the ladder and hopefully develop a nice little stake really interesting and and I just looked at it just looking at her. She's a three year old. She's buy that. Sir Prance Allot Baltimore has got the Nice Lady Prance a lot right He's got that very useful. I've talked I've talked to sit Fernando citizen as giving some back some little background and this is a really interesting mix and match because she's out of a dam by the Australian trillion the Australian sire that exceed and Excel who who just passed away right the last sixty days but yeah no. I think he's even standing stud here in California for for a bit and then going back home. I believe the the kind of their shuttling them but yeah no he. He's a nice productive for sure and and I think philly's got a little future very cool. That's a cute name. Do we like that. What else Phil what and what do you got coming up for this weekend? For the next round. I've got Bowie heroes GONNA run keeneland. That's right and I have Prince Earl but who won the del Mar Mile. He's GonNa come try to win the city of hope mile at Santa Anita along with and Dash little red feather and so I've got some nice shots there amongst the mother you know allowance races so that's kind of what I'm looking forward to in this weekend. Can we love it and of course one of the Nice that was one of our pick contests we had fun with print searle and good luck in the city. I hope and we'll see you in just just a few weeks but obviously a tremendous special way to start the season. Three graded stakes wins the barn and a lot more to come Phil D'Amato always a pleasure thank you so much I appreciate it filled D'Amato everybody and Cleopatra's strike for Slam Lamp Dunk and Mike Net wig and then birth for Little Red Feather and pee wee reese for can't say no nick Alexander holy cow bottom of our state this this morning flew by we fit in we fit in a trip to Mongolia. "I was GONNA say Saturday failed but it started on Friday because you won the CD and then you come back and the Mirth wins the day drive and John Henry goes to Cleopatra's Patrick Strike so you got you got old stars you got new stars and it combines for three great at stake wins for the bar congratulations license. Thank you very much yeah now. We're we're all excited. we know we knew we had a you know we had some good contenders coming in opening weekend can and and the racing God's want our side got some nice trips and horses ran very well the the cow all breads and we'll start with Friday. We'll work our way through the weekend and pee wee reese for Nick Alexander and of course Eddie Haskell. It's so funny that the two of them hook up and battle to the wire and peewee reese and ninety nine buyer for the tribal rule can't say no nick Alexander well done and booted home by Flavian Frat. Yeah you know it was a nice trip. I it looked on paper like there was a ton of pace and you know came came out of the box room and and asked if this horse could great I t I left it up to him. I said well you know the time to try to get yours at the time and and they shot the pocket there and flabby and just kind of shot through right up the rail and and home we went and you he thought he thought he rated just finding like kind of actually passing ars says he said he kinda got excited when he shot through there and just a big performance from the circumstances around the hill course obviously kind of dominate any discussion when we when we get to this and and you know we kind of knew mid year that there was going to be a question about the Breeders Cup and how they were going to handle it and then decision came that there wasn't GonNa be any any races down the hill. What was your feeling? I don't think I've discussed this with you. You know I mean we're we're all on the same page here in California want to do what's Best S. for horse racing and our horses and and you know make this game continue to grow and flourish and and you know that was what was going to happen. We'd have to suspend racing down the hill for for some time and you know just make sure you know everything's going right and and I got a really say hats five to Santa Anita because they did change things up a little bit so they've got five and now five and a half for a long races and and I think they're even gonNA explore more or further races out of a shoot on six six and a half on the flat and then maybe even hopefully at the beginning beginning of next year. Try the the hill again but it's kind of the times we're in and you know everyone realized bitten and we're all kind of on board. I got it and I can understand. This is a horse that that is not Breeders Cup nominated so and I don't know if you from I guess I competitive wise. He's not yeah he fits right. I mean low hundred one hundred. This was a ninety nine buyer and he's run. He's run as high as a one. Oh six going a mile and Ed what w what where's that stand in terms of yeah. No I definitely think he'd fit in the in the turf sprint he he can run triple digit buyers and and he beat the best sprinters on the West Coast Eddie Haskell twice I see beat the the two time Breeder's cup sprint champion as well so you know I I think you definitely can fit with those and Nick Alexander Dan. He's definitely GONNA or entertain the option of putting the money up and running we've got our deadlines on the twenty first and he's he's want to graded stakes running here so I would imagine if nick put up the money we'd given. I Yeah I would imagine region all right. Well you know what you should. You should go go talk to to get back because he apparently has got somebody knocking on the door to to as a sponsor so there's somebody somebody writing checks for two hundred thousand on the backstretch so I I go find that guy yeah no we're. We're definitely going to take a look and see what happens but but you know he he had to be doing one hundred percent and and ready to go but if he is I think I think we'll we'll definitely take a swing well and I should mention in this to Lambeau was involved at a huge price but it feels like you're trying to find something for him to do. Yeah you know Lombo's kind of a sometimes he's all class sources they they it kind of hit a wall and then you know it's time to you know they're they've got plenty of class ability and it's time to try to reinvent anthem and that's kind of what I've been doing with them. I bring them on the grass at del Mar.. I thought he was really good and you know I put them. I'm in this race. Just kinda wanted to see what he does against good horses but I wanNA seem at least pass horses and and if he did it set him up for a nice little mile grass stakes that they had at the end of the meat so I came out of the race in really good shape and showed you know he he could he five might be a little too sharp but but but he can definitely handle the grass and I and I think maybe it's future is grass smiling well in addition before we talk about on Saturday you hit one earlier in the day already lovely Lilia and one off by fifteen and somehow goes unclaimed was that what were you thinking there. Did you expect her to get taken. You know I mean I really either way. We didn't really know or you know maybe I would say fifty fifty. It was just one of those things she's just like a big clumsy going really good looking which just Kinda you know as this just kind of steady way of going and I ran on the grass the first time and she broke slow and just kind of ran around there but I think what woke her up I put the blinkers on after the last race and and that seemed to really wake her up and her training was much more forward so I was expecting you know a good effort but yeah she even surprise is me with with how good Iran she's. She's by animal kingdom. This is the John La vicous home bread and at Ah. I don't know what you do now. She got sixty eight buyer and now you what what does that make you eligible for running running the thirty. What does that get you? you can run into starter over here and I think that's why that's what we'll do. probably a runner starter just just see how far are you can develop but yeah now we're very happy with their performance and she definitely woke up with the bankers and and hopefully shows continue to go up the ladder she might be by animal kingdom. Maybe maybe a little golden gate trip. You never you never know you never know I yeah I I probably runner one more time short and see if she if she can handle going to turns maybe we'll experiment with that after after another race but not very happy with their performance Ormiston and hopefully she's affiliate on the rise interesting she's out of a out of a tale of the cat mare and she's the first of her of the family. There's a Flintshire is a pair of Flintshire Johnston. Was Mary take it and I believe I not positive did he. He might he might not I still think he has the chargers okay. There's there's a Colt and a filly yearling wing way more interesting well. I don't know I just I saw that. Fifteen link win on Friday was watching races and I was like Oh my God and then I wondered what to the charts later on I I was curious. If she got taken for thirty somebody somebody might have. I'm sure somebody out there thought about it and now they're kicking themselves. Let's talk about Saturday and I think it was pretty sure it was it was jape ribbon who was very hurtful on Friday. He liked birth talk about this with in the day. Oh Dr Yeah I give a lot of credit to to Mike Smith. I mean the race look like it. We had a chance on paper and like we have controlling speed and just kinda see how long you know we could take it and in the paddock you know we talked to Mike and and I told him you know hey she's just kind of a steady going philly with a really good speed high cruising speed and and for him to figure it out and you know it it it worked out. I mean great call by the owners. Billy Koch Yeah called an audible and thought this was a good shot to taken and I give a little red feather and definitely Mike Smith all the credit for that way unbelievable. This is not only a nice win for L. R. F. and for you this is is a big score for another Pennsylvania another Pennsylvania Brad grade one winner and we we talk a lot about the Pennsylvania read program on the show and and the they advertise and all that and but they just keep they keep performing and this was this was an aggressive spot at a you know. Sometimes it just shows you it. It's worth taking a chance there. Wasn't you know bowe recall certainly a very nice but there was no reason to be afraid of of running in here why why not and then to seize control in a in a race that didn't look to have much pace absolute recipe and being inside to contribute to that to that approach to Oh yeah no I I absolutely absolutely and you know Philly Hardy philly she. She's really almost even even should have won a race stake race. They're going that distance. It's Santa Anita to back in just she got a good ride that day. She just got nailed right right on the wire and just things didn't go right for her at del Mar but we we regrouped and and just had another `nother nice performance on on Saturday well and the other thing that's notable about this felon it for her to leap leap up and run a ninety-seven buyer is pretty notable and I suppose you know from a from a next step standpoint. It's got to give you some some confidence going looking ahead. Oh Yeah No I. I definitely think so the this philly she she acted like she perked up to out of this race and and she's always a really good hearty training philly so I mean I think I got a lot left in the tank Sir to take a swing at the Breeders Cup and we'll see what happens I I suppose I suppose billion the team they they. They're on board with plant while we're one hundred percent. Come on. That's what we're GONNA do but I'd say we're pretty close aside say well. We'll be we'll be in there. I think so too birth Colonel John Out of a French deputy mayor and she didn't when she came out west. was she a private purchase at that point from Bernie Houghton yes she she was a private purchase. we brought her. We brought her in gene and we gave her some time. We gave her a couple of months to Kinda. she'd run a bunch over there to kind of acclimate over here and fill out and she just did just that you know and it Kinda it took us a little while to Kinda get her in the grew but once we got her racine team fit and and a couple races and then she kind of steadily you know when up the ladder and wonder conditions and and developed into a great one philly she is today believable what a what a fun story and little red feather with another the other big great one winning type and got to be awfully excited and I'm sure that that nick and and the Slam Dunk Team are beside themselves talk about running down acclimate and of course you know you run one two in here and the the race it figured fill Komo acclimate was gonNA make them come in and catch him and talk yeah acclimate he we. We knew what he's he's GonNa do. That's that's what he does. Best is go out there and roll and and she's probably worked a little bit too hard early. sentencing pretty fast fractions victor did a good job on the backside at trying to get them to slow down and take a little bit of a breather but but you know Cleopatra Strike. He's a nice source. I've always thought really really highly of them. He's had two very unlucky beets prior to that running for me. They got beaten a great at stake in in allowance comeback I mean literally by a whisker and but but he he's a nice horse and I just thought if I could ever get him in a good forum cycle where I could campaign them. You know once a month want he he'd find his his form and and that's what he did he he he came off of that delmore allowance prep just rarin ago and hats off day able to deal I mean he he come down from northern California here as leading rider and and just just has been winning left right and center here on down South and a bunch of Nice graded stakes over the weekend a huge weekend had I had a gap at earlier and Johnny and I just touched on it to Johnny Mathis and you took advantage obviously as well eh top canoes to handling the book. How how much have you been using him? I've been trying to get him in my I barnes more and more and and I definitely using them on on a bunch of horses really really good person good good guy just the right build for a jockey and really strong finisher and has actually just has has great hands I mean you saw him win..

Jimmy Phil D'Amato Addresses 'The Hill Course'

"The circumstances around the hill course obviously kind of dominate any discussion when we when we get to this and and you know we kind of knew mid year that there was going to be a question about the Breeders Cup and how they were going to handle it and then decision came that there wasn't GonNa be any any races down the hill.
