My 31 Monday Mostly cloudy 34 Tuesday and mix of sun and clouds high 36 our Wednesday mostly cloudy skies and high 38 from the WGN Weather Center. I'm my camera, Nick. That we need more information on what you've heard. Have a travel question or comment. Just log on to Peter Greenberg dot com. Now, here's Peter. It's 33 minutes after the hour, Peter Greenberg here with you. If you're just joining us up and speaking with the travel editor of The Wall Street Journal, Scott McCartney on his predictions for what Travel is gonna be like this year. We've already taken care of crazy airline prices all over the map. Basically, that was number one. Uh, what's gonna happen with your health records having to be updated and red across the board before you gonna get a chance to go anywhere? And, of course, the craziness and qualifying for frequent flyer status when nobody's flying at all, and how the rules going to change not by one airline, but by every airline in the world trying to be competitive, but we're not done yet. Scott's got another one, which I'm actually in favor of, and I think it's gonna happen. It did not happen under the Trump administration because they had a much more anti regulatory approach to travel. But this one is I almost think inevitable, and Scott calls it the mask mandate. Yeah, I think it's in. It's not just, you know, regulatory. Is it Z the image you want to project of safety? Um, with coronavirus, uh, picked by the administration will put through a mask mandate for for airline. For airplanes. You know the interesting thing to me about this is you know the federal government in terms of jurisdiction it can. It can require things only on federal property. So now you know national parks. Federal courthouses can require mass there. But 11 big sweeping area where that is under federal jurisdiction. Um is commercial airline service in in the United States not regulated by state. So I think it's a zoo. A good high, visible way. Um, to sort of hammer home that things are different. We're gonna We're gonna take mass more seriously. Um And I think airlines welcome this. I think Caroline Cruz. Welcome this, Aziz. You know, it's a It's a bit symbolic, since airlines have already had, um, mask mandates. But people have been cheating and they are. Some people are happy to challenge the authority of flight attendants. Has been difficult for them to enforce this, making it a federal rule punishable by some kind of fine or whatever. I think that that will, um, force more compliance, and that's a good thing. You know, you go back to it to put it in perspective. When you get on a plane on any airplane you're instructed to. You know, the trade table has to be up unfolded in the in the upright position. Your seat has to be their proposition. And you have to fasten your seat belt. And if the flight attendant comes over and says, Mr McCartney, would you please fasten your seat belt and you say I don't wanna You're now in violation of a federal rule. And this is not a state rule and you'll be fed by med my met by federal marshals and taken off the plane, and the penalties could be severe. That's what we're talking about here with the masks s O money, flight attendants and flight crews have complained to me because they're being put in the position of being sky cops without any jurisdictional backup. Because there is no rule right now for the D O T about about the about the masks on, and I actually do agree with you, Scott that the Biden administration will make that at least with the D O. T, one of the first items of business. Yeah..

"Able to do it fairly early and starting around 6 36 45 in the evening. So Michael, I live right down in Walker's point, So I'm within eyeshot of the whole at almost all times, and I've seen some of the testing going on. It blew my expectations out of the water. I'm curious how seeing it really life has has kind of stacked up against what? Your expectations we're going in. You know, it's funny. You bring that up because we had a moment before they turned it on for us. For the first time, I leaned over the inn with my co founder and all this. I should do what What if, what if this what if they hate it? Kind of has that moment of like, Oh, no, God, you know, they're very actually video of the two of us that actually the construction crew took of Of our reaction when they turned it on for the first time, and it was just I'm with you, it it just blew our minds. We knew it was going to be cool, but we we really have no idea just how spectacular was going to be, and I think, honestly. A lot of people didn't you know until they saw it? And based on the reaction that we've been hearing from residents, it's it's just been so positively received touches. What the logistics. How do you light up something that big You spend a lot of time making friends of Wisconsin GOP and and that's what we get and on Thea are partners of the bank. Phenomenal in helping us to get this through. It took a lot of of approvals before we ever even went out to ask for a dime of fundraise valleys. We wanted to make sure that everyone from the D O T to the Coast Guard. With onboard and understanding of what we wanted to do on Ben. We've spent over two years going out on raising funds, and the cool thing about this project was that we could raise funds from Residents for as little as $25. I could dedicate a bulb on the bridge, and we've got over 2000 dedications incredible stories from Milwaukee in talking about the bridge talking about their city, talking about people that they love. It's really been a very cool way to raise funds for the shepherd. Michael hosted one of the founders of a light the home which is actually going to happen now. Next Thursday, October 22nd around 6 36 45 our partners over a team before going to broadcast it live. Yeah, And we're so appreciative of that with the times that we're in and covert. We've been working closely with the health department really understand how we can still have this event But do it faithfully on DH Thanks to our friends at PM J four and 88 9 radio Milwaukee were able to Kind of broadcast this event so that you can be safely distance. Still feed on T V O R. If you have the opportunity, you're one of those lucky people that live in Walker's point to the third Ward complete in your backyard or off a balcony. You know, you've got the opportunity to turn into 89. Radio Milwaukee here of music Mix on watch the lights dance to that music like we can host everybody at my place. Sound good. Yeah, I'll be over selfishly as someone who drives in the dark of the morning at about 2 30. How long are you gonna leave? It lit? That's a great question. We're actually still working out. Some of those details with the some cities will turn them off at around like one or 2 A.m., which works out well, that's far close here in Milwaukee, but it also turned them back on. For folks like Eugene that that driving in the early morning for turning on towards the morning hours, a cz well, but we also have to be mindful of things like migrating birds and all of those those elements that we learned in this process, So we're taking all that into account If we figure out the final plan for when they're on and when they're off, Michael, if we make a special donation can you get like a special lighting message for us as we're coming in to work at three o'clock in the morning or is that too much has it we would have to be in Morris Code. Work for you were down. Check it out at light the home dot com Michael hosted. Congratulations. I know how much you guys have been working on this for like you said the last five years and it's finally coming, so we will. We'll hopefully, see you down there next week. Great. Thanks so much appreciate it. Take care. That is the blood. It's a 26. Steve's coffee these days has long been Wisconsin's.

"R. A. D. O. T. A. dot com and see if you can score some passes there Gregory when the other things I really kind of love about the markets is is when you do start to learn about them they are they're fearful in the beginning is totally normal I remember being terrified about it but I also remember just the first few steps the markets are so much more simple than the average person thinks that they are you know we're all why I don't have a degree I have an Ivy League degree I don't have a background in finance I don't have this I don't have that so people automatically disqualify themselves and I love seeing the light will turn on with individuals in the classroom when we're covering some of the principles that actually control the markets and they really start to realize this is doable this is actually a lot more simple than I thought and we can be our own worst enemy mentally yeah you you tell a great example before we talk about you start a new job new workplace yeah anything but what happens you start any work place to get a here's here's the workers manual yeah but you never read right if you have trouble sleeping under the stars of watch some videos and you realize after watching the videos and reading the manual you have no idea what to do yeah and all the education that it doesn't matter what degree you got it you're sort of a brand new and wasn't bass we learned what what when they actually want you to be give become proficient they have you watch over the shoulders of others doing it yep and that's kind of our model right so at the class when you actual names will talk about is the best way we've found for you learn is actually watch over the shoulders of people are actually doing it yeah and I I was I was electricity for a while like you're you're you're obviously not anymore it happened so so but as a general contractor has been since the sixties started his own his own company my my brother now only goes half of it runs and stuff my dad's moving into his retirement years but in the summertime I would take on different roles and one at one of the summers I worked for one of his subcontractors and that I was like Trish and and what was I I was an apprentice right I was an apprentice working with the journey men who worked under a master right and that's what it's all built around inside of the that those kind of occasional jobs you are literally watching somebody over their shoulder and then they walk you through it as well there's some book time and everything like that but they're walking you through step by step you know for lack of a better turn hand in hand how to actually do and that's one of the things I really absorbing the information absolutely you could say you were a shock absorber there that's it that is a good one we're gonna chalk that one up for the Gregory dad joke of the week Gregory you got this experience last week but I've said this before and I'll say.

"A. D. O. T. A. dot com and see if you can score some passes there I've got a lot I love this topic that we're just going to work at a different are tell into right now as far as historically what happened you're looking for how can it help us and and and taxes are kind of an interesting gets brought up all the time your two guarantees in life death and taxes right but it was also the Packers will make it to the Superbowl yet again well yeah I I was I was going to say that I was gonna go go that far with yeah but it but in your last when you were talking a few minutes ago and I and I mentioned how you went to Berkeley I was like for some reason I always thought you were a badger yeah that you're mad at me on the grass it and it gets even more impressive all of that was just my undergrad so I love they always say so you know be the dumbest person in your in your group and I have definitely accomplished and that with my friends on the radio show but we as people are one the conversations I've had with individuals have been that I would say three conversations I've had have been very strange historically number one I've had people say I don't want to learn how to make more money because I would lose my disability check and I'm like and I have had people say that to me at at these works out that has I've had other people say well yeah and if I make more money if I start making more money they'll take away my unemployment I'm like this is kind of the point here is that you go and you know and that but then I have people say also well but if I need more money I would pay more in taxes I hear that one too absolutely and I hope that for everyone is listening in twenty twenty you pay more taxes than you ever have before the reason absolutely yeah because you made more money exactly it's it's it's it's simple addition we could say right but one of the things that I've shared with a number of my classes that I've got I'm tauter you know it at any specific level but I said I have a very strange goal and my goal is that one year I paid ten million dollars in taxes and I always say and if I paid ten million dollars in taxes which I never have right but if I paid ten million dollars in taxes what does that mean in the classes are always just like it means you made a lot of money like that you know that's great so it's kind of a strange way of looking at a goal but it is something that's always there and and one of the interesting things that that that I think it is kind of a fear is sometimes he will say well I don't want to sell it now right because that's short term capital gains versus long term capital gains but the thing that I always try to point to is but that's capital gains right yeah I don't want to hold on to it so that it becomes a loss just so you don't pay taxes on and I think that's one of the critical kind of peace is a lot of people miss out on when they are looking at a not profit oriented goal when it's more of like a time goal this a one of a hold on to this for a long time how long till becomes a loser I'm gonna hold on to this for at least a little bit more tell loses more money like like that's one of the big things like that I think gets missed out on on the like trading plan it's all about by low and it's all about sell high when will the things I love about the classes that you you run you get the actors going is in their people really get to see that we know how to teach people you know just like them the skills and the knowledge that could empower them to take control of their financial future so they can spend less time worrying about life and more time living it right now.

"A. D. O. T. A. dot com other than the blueprint conversation that were on here and I'm that mental mindset as is so critical because I even remember awhile ago having an individual say to me it doesn't matter how it doesn't he says it doesn't matter how much you you make it matters how will you trade and I remember saying to him no matter how much you keep writing matters how much you keep it matters how much you have a growing measure in return you know so it all kind of boils down to the making the proper decisions because even if you went on you made a million dollars tomorrow you know you could lose it the next day very very easily with that same type of a mindset if you're all in type of a person if you're read seven type of a person put it all on red seven we take a hundred grand on to parlay that into millions and millions of dollars it's like okay well it's probably not going to happen right but it's still something people do it does have to be a hundred grand we ten grand a could be a dollar right but that's still a low probability situation with that mindset of I'm gonna take almost nothing and turn it into a large amount in an overnight type of scenario it's just a a very kind of poor way of thinking and when you're you're talking about the that book as far is being poor because they want to be poor you know the same time that that poor reference that we use a lot is that passing over opportunities repeatedly and so many times individuals will pass over an opportunity that is a good opportunity because it's a little more work and they'll settle down onto the kind of poor opportunity or the the less than less than optimal opportunity for the one that just takes a little less work yeah and look at the end of the day it comes down to the three sees you've heard me say this before so if you're listening right now here's the thing it doesn't come down to intelligence age background ethnicity is whether or not you were willing to do these three things number one you've got to commit to wanting to be a traitor and that means you have to have a purpose and you have to have goals people just can't go out there right now and say who I want to make a lot of money first question I'd ask you is what's a lot of money I don't know you know a lot no I don't know so a lot of people out there just think it's like I'm just gonna put a quarter in a machine pull the lever and whatever the jackpot is that's what I'm gonna make no you got to be very intentional and see I have a purpose in life what is it that's going to get you up every single day and commit to a process of learning how to trade the right way to once you do get started you've got to be very very committed to the fact that you got to be applying what you're learning I know so many people out there they take these courses you know it's funny they call it self help you know what I call it Ryan shelf help they buy this put that stuff on the shelf and they let it collect dust we don't let our students do that here we want you engage we want you going in and learning way after the class ends because this is what you wanted to do and once you have the application down then you start to feel achievement that's what keeps you going that's what builds your confidence the second seat and then finally when you're committed you have confidence and then you start seeing the cash flow this is where you start to see everything you want start to unfold you've learned how not only to set UP trades but to manage those traits and more importantly we teach you something that most people understand which is risk management because you can hear all the time guys Wall Street telling you things that you need to know and the reality of it is it's not what Wall Street says is what they do and we teach our students how to trade like Wall Street yeah absolutely in one of the things with those seasons you have the commitment which comes from the individual and then the confidence in the confidence is just really that overcoming fear and.
