Who Is Curtis Sliwa? A Look at the GOP Mayoral Candidate’s Wild Ride in New York

"I grew up in New York City. I was born in Queens. I was in there into the 70s. We got out in the 70s, moved up the Danbury, Connecticut because the crime, the deterioration was unbelievable and we watched the New York news every night. It was unbelievable. We had mayor beam. We had it was just like a nightmare. And into this nightmare, steps a young guy named Curtis Lee tell the story Curtis. It was a night manager at McDonald's in The Bronx. The Bronx was burning down at the time and in the 70s alone a million people fled from New York City. The biggest exit is a population ever. And rightfully so, gangs arson property values plummeting quality of life dismal. So I decided, hey, you know, something they've removed the transit police from the subways at night because we were on the brink of a fiscal collapse. So they were laying off a lot of civil servants. I said, oh, I'll start patrolling with a group of my closes at that McDonald's. We will call the burger boys. And we started to patrol this one particularly train the number four train, which had been nicknamed by the right as the muggers expressed. I thought I get the congressional Medal of Honor. Eric, I couldn't have been more hopelessly wrong. The mayor at that time, Ed Koch vilified us, called us vigilante, said we were the hell's angels. The police unions were upset. They didn't want us there, because they figured their furloughed employees would never be brought back. And so within the first 13 years until Rudy Giuliani got elected mayor. I got arrested 76 times. I got wooden shampoos, concrete facials, attitude, no readjustments. It was whenever you elected or in a changed all that. I always gotta stop you because nobody knows what you just said. And it's the funniest stuff I've ever heard. You said you got wooden shampoos. You're talking about Billy clubs across the head from cops. Yes. Yes. And then concrete facials where the cop would say, Curtis, you see the curb down there as I was handcuffed. I said, yes, Sarge. And then you go, good. We're gonna have your forehead meet the curb bang. And you get a big lump in the front of your

Yeah, and I went into the basement of my house and my mother had golf clubs that she used to play golf when she was pregnant with me, and she was an operator for the telephone company. And she had split ships. So she in the middle of the ship, she would go play golf. They were all wooden clubs. They were women's clubs. Wow. So for me, it was like miniature golf. You know, the clubs were much smaller, You know? Like Playland? Yes. Okay, so I would queue up early in the morning with the toughest I would get on my Schwinn Big chief bicycle. I would ride all the way to the south End of Manhattan. I would catch the ferry across. And I'd end up peddling to Silver Lake. The public off course, the duffers with their young before dawn on and they say, kid you want to join, Make it a foursome myself. Course they say first go get a cup cool fee, so I'd have to be a gofer. And then they come back. They look at my wooden clubs, the female clubs and they would say where you got that you get to hit from the female. T. Wow. You see that that was humiliating. You humiliated back, but given up growth, you Wanted. Thank you very much. I have a lot of family. I'm one of my Children and I have a lot of family in green. "You're still Lee Curtis Lee was substituting for Bernard. Character. I've been behind the badge. No. Never wore the badge. But I've certainly seen the good the bad the ugly. Let me give you an update with the NYPD who have been castrated by our elected officials. There is an internal memo now circulating amongst active members of the NYPD that they may individually. Be targeted. As a potential victims of terrorist attacks. Now we talking international terrorism. You know the remnants of al Qaida? Isis? I don't think so. I think we're talking about the domestic terrorists old. That's right. Do not organized according to so many out there and tiff. Are you kidding? It's a paramilitary organization. Yeah. And people would target cops. They already docks. Um they already tried to get their badge numbers. They already tried to shadow them. All right. They try toe hack them. Come on. Sounds to me like it would be antifa and possibly certain segments of black lives matter. That's an update on that. But since we're talking about the NYPD and the police, who are constantly getting pounded by elected officials and adversaries, lead Buyeo CEO allow crazy Alexandria, Ocasio Cortez and her Democratic Socialists of America who want to defund the police but also abolished. The police once say, successfully defund them. Did you see that cop got shot twice in the back. While breaking up. Domestic dispute coming to the aid. Other woman. Who is being terrorized by her boyfriend, Bergen Street and Ralph Avenue. What was it around 9 P.m. on Thursday and the boyfriend, the mud, the scale William Moss. Was going to shoot her at her home. And instead, the copies says So. What does he do? He caps two shots at the cop. Luckily, the bullet proof vest prevents them. From turning the copying to room temperature. And so the guy gets arrested for Attempted murder and assault. You, by the way. Is he still incarcerated? Or did they also Kim disappearance? Take care task. Your parents take it like they do everybody else in this city nowadays, the criminal justice system that it's so in favor of the criminals and so opposed the police. But anyway, he he's being led on the daisy chain Purple Line. After his photographs and his fingerprints were taken as he's coming out of the precinct. He said All I apologize to the cop. I didn't mean to shoot him. I was shooting on my girlfriend. I was shooting at my girlfriend. Who is there to protect her? Member of the NYPD wanted to fund the police department. You want to eliminate cops? Who was gonna do that Guardian angels might have been a possibility. Other volunteers in the neighborhood might have been a possibility. But when you call 911 because that's what people do when they jammed up. You get a police officer? Why do you call 911 and notice? This comes on the heels. This Christmas Eve shooting of this police officer in the back two bullets. Lucky is bulletproof vests prevented them from entering into his his bone, his flesh and maybe is vital organs. Remember was what a few weeks ago and Queens There was a woman who was in distress. Her husband was threatening her. Remember, he was a security officer for the City University of New York legally able to carry guns. And she just see she came to the local precinct. Where there are domestic violence. Police officers. This is what they do in uniforms, please. Could you just have scored me to my house? I just want to put a few of my close together. I brought our daughter She staying at my sister's house. That's where I'm going to stay. But just help me get a few of the clothes, few the personal items so I can get out of the house because he's a maniac. He's crazy and remember. Um, walked up the steps. The woman walked up the steps to get a personal valuables. She starts coming down the steps. She looks into the driveway through a window. She's on the second floor. She sees her husband, two guns in his hand. And he comes in the front door. The two cops and downstairs she wants out. He's gonna kill me. He's going to kill me and they start blasting. He starts blasting away at the cops because he was going to shoot through them in order to get her. Who did she call? When she needed help. Did she call you? Did she call me in The Guardian angel, sticky call violence, interrupters or any other groups out there who volunteer to make for a safer city now? She did what most people do. It called 911 and the cops responded, and both of them could have been killed. You had to know that this guy this CUNY peace officer who unfortunately was giving his guns back by a judge in Queens after domestic violence charges against them, like, really Judge. What Judge would said Why are they protecting the name of the judge? How come we don't get to know what loony could soon be? Judge gave the guns back to a guy who on two previous occasions had beat the living daylights out of his wife? Oh, no, no, We're not. We're not permitted to know. You know? God, God forbid. We know the name of the judge, but this is all within the line of duty. All within the line of duty. And now I'm gonna give you a wee Bey thug in update Because last year Well, God came about just about this time We were rescued from the trash pile of talk radio. In fact, we might have been eliminated in perpetuity. Assisted station went on by cumulus over at our old broadcasting facility high atop Madison Square Garden. Was eliminated. Cumulus just got rid. Got rid of that iconic station Wplg no more gone like it never existed. And then cumulus eyes were on us. They were looking for a purchaser. Maybe he could have been Cantonese, Mandarin Russian. Who knows Bihari. And whatever Whoever came up with the motion police mulish moolah would get the stick. The most famous Station in America. W A. B she going back when we spun stacks of wax, too, when we flipped to talk radio and the king of Talk Radio Bob Grant, who really just push forward with this form? We were the best. Not like two rushing. All of a sudden we were gonna just dissolve and John Cancer. Matisse came forward and purchased us because you love stock radio. He.

"Who knows New York city like the back of his hand even the front of his I go to my main Curtis Lee with the great broadcaster WABC in New York Walter hawk Newsome this is the guy that says that he is the black lives matter leader in in New York City Sean Hannity played for me what he had said when I was on his program Thursday night and I really late into this guy I said yeah we're Mr tough guy what he gonna burn down exactly Curtis you happen to know who this man is don't you yes Jean Marc and his sister Simona they are the co founders of the black lives matters movement of greater New York they are a fixture in the ever growing New York City radical movement as you know growing by leaps and bounds and more importantly his sister Simona just ran in the democratic primary for the fifteenth congressional district in the south Bronx thank god she lost because she is a hard core Marxist but they are involved in the Democratic Party political process and constantly out to it no justice no peace after the cops AC A. B. which means all cops are well they all say bad but you know what that B. stands for and they are firing of people blacks and whites and others to go out and destroy monuments and to abolish the police but he's a fixture and she is in the Democrat party years yes she just ran in fact she is so radical that A. O. C. all I'm crazy Alexandria Ocasio Cortez actually endorsed her adversary because even she was too radical for AOC but now their fixtures they've been here a long time in fact you know what features a hallmark you know how you have the Gadflies who will go to every city council meeting or any kind of charter revision meeting they attend the mall they give fiery speeches and they don't hold back at all the talk about destroying and burning down the system as we know it and replacing it with a system that they feel will be better for black people what what does he do for a living this guy believe it or not mark he went to law school but I don't believe the same law school is the guy that was throwing Molotov cocktails at the cops I hope not him and her remember you had to radical young people who tossed Molotov cocktails actually saw demands the New York police department vancity pond outside of the eighty eighth precinct just hours later when they try to attack the precinct take it over and turn it into a no cop zone yeah he's part of that whole fraternity and sorority and his sister has been an accounting for major five hundred fortune five hundred companies so they've had you know this on their resume these are these are the Molotov couple but I want to go back to the black lives matter this guy this guy out Walter hawk Newsome you're threatening to burn things down you know when I was growing up as a kid you tend to burn things down you get arrested now that's not happening here come on mark this is New York City now you can shoot people you can kill people the mayor here comrade build the blood geo has disbanded the anti crime unit which used to go out and actually get guns and gang bangers off the street it's open season here for criminals as you know recently mark I am the guardian angels we had a battle loot I have a fraction short because the mayor ordered the police to stand down just like the mayor did years ago when Baltimore in the riots after Freddie gray's death he did exactly the same thing and you saw what happened as a result and I'm I'm still I'm finding it difficult to jawbone here but you know it's well worth it you know first say calm if you student history the calm for the property then they come for the product and if you don't stop him right where they're rioting and looting then they come for the people and that's what they're doing now look at Seattle look at Minneapolis look at Portland they've taken over the north precinct in north Portland and they burned out black owned businesses in the process all and they want to create peace no cop zones conserve the billing because this is not about systemic racism even though they may think so at the NFL and the NBA all the millionaires who play their this is about overthrowing the country overthrowing the country burning down the system that's what the guy said that's exactly what they mean black lives matter their co founders are trained in Marxism that's what they are antifa Marxists anarchists and all these other people who are planned along these corporations that these are suckers absolute fools you know it's their brothers and sisters in solidarity with antifa and the foot and T. for is predominantly white black lives matter predominately black but there in solidarity they have the same mission the same goals and we see it right now in Washington DC they are intent on tearing down the Abraham Lincoln statue that was paid for by freed slaves and as you know the speech that was given when the statue was one unveiled in Washington DC was by Frederick Douglass itself doesn't matter to them they want to destroy all statues all art all history and you know that is the primary focus a manifesto of Marxism destroy all history destroy your pass and that's what they're working on all right Curtis I wanna thank you now we know more about Walter hawk Newsome he's going to be on TV this weekend yeah Chris Wallace frustrated generous yeah I did I was Chris yeah I let's see how tough he'll be because remember what hawk has perfected in the streets of the Bronx is he loves to intimidate maybe she and she will be kind of guys let's see if Chris can stand up to the staring glare of hawk Newsome now one tough guy that hawk Newsome okay what's he gonna burn down Mr tough guy well you know maybe I'll come across them and you know me it'll be a left hook or right cross and I'll drop him right on the spot and I'll tell them Hey this is an honor mark Clement do it do it although I'm not encouraging it it no no I'm not encouraging to assault and battery don't absolutely not this is you know this is my mantra this is what I've done for forty one years around the world I'll take care of things all right you take care is of god bless you thank you all right bye bye no no I cannot encourage that Mister producer and if anybody thought that I did I am not right now I'm saying no don't bill Charlton ham Pennsylvania the great W. A big stage with huge festivals separated from the crowd. Yeah you got smaller. I play a small club that was like pack it like every week. You know that would be because that's the most fun for me. It's the same with comedy for sure intimate settings for sure I on the other hand like the run across and be like so like more like you know what I'm saying the big stages you know played you know just all these big stages I wanna be a part of that just because it's this big experience just seeing thousands of people hopefully thousands of people are millions of you know the people if they like my music but yeah doing that would be pretty epic meltdown getting the steps man. I'll be all around all up in there for sure. Yeah I've seen footage it's real. I've yet to see you live. Which is something I need to see. You need to do that. But the video is. It's awesome just watching you sip around. I like a front man that will use his space. That's what I gotta do. Come on eater used. The space is a space yep also usually just completely standstill when I'm on stage but this is a full possum. Just stand our post post up post APP. That's fair this question. I usually ask but I'm only asking again. Because last night ben we had like a little music firsthand. Dinner Party line it was. Super Fun and exclusive. Sorry you didn't answer the text message. Zach was yeah give it up for hire

"Okay acidy ciders again. Thank you for having us. We love you very much. Thank you tip. Your bartenders are lovely. Please be nice to them. Serving up all the were you drinking tonight. Drew A hop. So what have you drank about to finish it but then I actually get another hop CIDER. Anybody okay no not that. Pay Actually one of our favorite. Vip's just got that. Boris speaking of UAB's a lovely guest for Melbourne. Here tonight. Thank you so much Veronica for being here loved. Also if you're interested in being a patron to our thing you can please go to music for sand or any of the facebook pages. We have the patron up. It is an awesome way for you to support us for as little as a dollar a month. You could sponsor a starving comedians great. We have content coming free that soon. Shoutout before we get back into that. Do you guys have any dream merchandise? You could make if money was not a thing a shirt. What would you make prices like? I really a muzzle for girls that liked to talk during shows your band logo on the France. That will kind of go along with that me too. Yeah you'RE GONNA catch allegations with muzzles. Okay so no muzzles fine one time anybody away like what would you be like? What would you be like? I'm so proud to give you this amazing. I don't know Muslim. Are you going back to the muscle? Now it's the thing would be like. They have all different types of like merchandise hats. Keychain stuff like that I wanted to do but I want to do like stylish heads. Locker really awesome hats. You should just do. You should just do your whole outfit like you can borrow my entire. This is I'd trade for trade like I started like a monthly subscription or go to the bathroom portrayed fits real quick. Yeah that's happened to Bryce. He went to a bathroom and someone traded outfits really fast tissue no them someone by the shirt off my back from the audience nice. I had another shirt in the car. Did you just took shirt off and gave it to give me a hundred bucks for my dollars. Yeah it was A. It was a iron maiden shirt. Fear fear of the dark tour. Okay and this guy is like hey fan you know. I've never seen that particular iron maiden sure I'll give you one hundred dollars okay and you were like I did. And then he pulled out like a hundred dollars you know so it's like yeah you take that shirt off time. Yeah but the greatest part about all the whole story is. I still have the shirt way. How do you still have the shirt? Because the guy was I guess he was too drunk or something. I don't know he was. He was a real drunk and he was walking. Sounds like it's true story. He was holding drunk. Walk around. I saw him. I'm like Oh but at the end of the night I was breaking down and it was it was on my keyboard. Stand like that just kind of hanging on it. If you love something let it go back spend one hundred dollars on it and forget about it drunk so other than stealing one hundred dollars and not to anybody else get good merger good gifts from fans like no nobody ever like tosses a free shirt. That's not even thing I feel like. I've given a lot of shirts away to musicians and I didn't get I didn't give them your bag and we're giving them one hundred dollars. I should have gotten one hundred dollars and my shirt back. Yup fucking rude not into that like you. Courtesy a lot of projects going on like give the triplet solo project. You've worked with so many different groups in town. What does your first of all? What is your schedule like that insane? Trying to balance all of that are basically a lot of the music or the bands that I do play with mainly weekends so during the week I got a lot of free time to ride or be lazy and Netflix. All Day all this week Phil actually okay about it during the week I mean it's just basically scheduling with everybody we send out. I'll say we'll send on a text and see if everybody can do it or whatnot. And then we'll figure it out from there but it's basically just weakens for me. I guess there is a through Sunday. Pretty Much Austin weakens right like yeah like Austin Monday through Friday. There's all sorts adult daycare. Everybody's getting drunk most of the time. So yeah it's just like big long sad all right buddy. That's the whole thing. What's a studio session recording? Look like or like having to I guess orchestrate a studio session for your multiple groups are solo like we just basically like I said with the scheduling for the gigs and stuff. Basically before I even know the engineer will be what date Yoga and then we'll come back and I'll text them what everybody has with figure it out from there and sometimes it works. Sometimes they got to push it off a month. It just depends or a few months but usually it works out in is pretty cool so you released your first your first twenty fifteen correct What is the biggest difference from the first in the process of the second just me growing as a person through just myself and with the musicians work with just doing that? The writing has grown just working with different people just learning how to do things differently and better. So that's just the process of working with other people experience what they experienced and riding how they write and violent with different people. That's really what has helped me grow. And what is this this new album which I'm excited about when we start writing when we start recording and I'm really excited about it because it's going to be something totally different than this first one for sure? Did you learn something major? Like no more recording at this one place at the certain time. I swear it smells like Coffee Bean. I worked in this one place. It is a production studio and for some reason this one segment was always open to be booked. And we're like. Why is this always so open? That's amazing it's so much cheaper. Come to find out Bagel shop underneath. Everything smells like like blocks and like shitty cold brew and it was really terrible. You get played like fifty dollars for an hour. That's amazing walked out smelling like rotten bagel. Sloan like an everything Bagel everything and everything like sweaty production studio plus multi bagels whilst creeping on your instagram. I also saw that you posted a picture for National Small Day. Because you have a song called smile yes if you could write another song for any bullshit national holiday what would it be like Taco Day? There's lots of talk to your case Columbus days. Bullshit Yeah President Stays Bullshit. What are they Easter's bullshit? Hey pastels patent leather. Ptsd from childhood damage. Would you know National Sleep Day? I really like I'M GONNA LEARN I. I like to Lounge. That is just be and yeah has written a song for Christmas yet. I don't think that's happened. Mariah Carey just wrote all of the songs and no one can have them now. Where what would your holiday be wall with twenty year old yes perfect? I like that answer. It's not you're right. I'm sorry I shouldn't have been so Gauche. I also am digging the backpack on the drum kit Yeah just a little silencer is that you're is that a normal gig. Yes my thing. I like it no I really. I was going to ask a question like this. Anyone else have any weird like setup. I'm like that too. Everything has to be like OCD. So I can properly spill my east side or over everything just back. What's in the backpack? What's in the bag? We can't. It's not just on fair okay. Fine you set for twenty back to the hats. How many ads do you own though? But for Real ballpark twenty twenty-five okay all right. It's not a big. I want to get twenty or twenty five more hats than I have ever. Oh well I don't have the head for a hat. It's like a balloon shape very wrong. Think you would look thank you and I I love that you use your hashtags. We'll be like swag Hashtag hat because you got to get it in the category of Instagram. It's important category trademarking Natura. You better do it now. What's your favorite Hashtag? Is Courtesy Music? Just a shameless lob flying so what is your the hat thing is. You're super trendy. Always on trend with that. But what is your favorite trend from your childhood that you wish was still cool man. No I've got my. I got my answer. Is he posted a really cool like pop collar and Afro. Picture and I was like that. I wish I could still. I wish I could have ever rocked apologised to save to hide the hickeys in high school. It would have been easy. Like a vampire or prepped. The job ever have taken. Your pants rolled up that the bike the last night. I think Michael is doing that now I know he buys his pants like skinny jeans. Okay right so those are just tighter at the bottom. See I used to do when I was a kid. I used to do the exact opposite gene. Cho's which were yeah. Yeah so the exact It was like a trash bag on her leg. To be fair and goes. If you're watching this we don't want sponsors. Healy's I'm still about your Healy's Oh yeah he leaves are still thing. I think so. I think they survived all the slip and fall lawsuits. I think they're still the Douche bags from Healy's or now the Douche bags behind birds scooters. Yup We moved up. Get drunk on them. Chill now. That's fair. Would you guys like to play some more music when you do a couple more songs? We can do that all right. Let's get to sleep thank you. He's found the right sound. Thank you so much for having me music. First-hand

"Other song by trump middle It'll even probably if you're going to yell something at the stage in between songs. Stop and think if you really need to say that and you probably don't but if you do don't say while in the middle of a song it's real distracting is not helpful and if it's just started ignoring it so if it's ever an emergency. I'm going to go down with the venue and the s the bird. Yeah all that stuff. That's still really happen to have. That's insane this is a public service announcement facebook. Just just put it on your playlist on spotify could ask you know what. I'm convinced that half the people who say that haven't actually heard housing it now and there. "Right awesome you sires keep it going for Curtis. We thank you for my pen. I realized I've been really two GEL pens lately and pack myself a Neon Green Jell pen and I have no idea how to read that. So thank you. Thank you weird arm that just popped into frame. You guys like to introduce yourself since lovely crowd into facebook. Once you start Umbro's Oh hello this on. Is it Michael Dawa? And My name's courteously and now everyone tell us something that doesn't know about you. Now Okay thank you so much for joining us. This is really dope. I am doing research on you. I in your bio you this these great stories by your parents and their musical background. That your mom was grow. I grew up in choirs constantly singing around the house. And that before the hours before you were born like they had these crazy jam sessions in the House Online. Do you have any like fun? Passed down stories from that like I was. I was actually just so young. Could all of that stuff? I was too young but My my brother used to tell me that they would just hold these huge jam sessions and everybody would come over and just it would be this cool real hip thing and I. I wish I was old enough to experience that I'm getting to experience that now but I wish I had grown up and experience that with my mom and my dad. That's like that's so cool. I if he didn't remember you could just tell people like my parents. I jam sessions at the House. Yup I feel like I feel that my parents get messed up to when I missed that. But it's a similar vibe. Yeah mine was like metallica records in the garage and I wasn't allowed in there be up. That was smoking weed. Yeah well my mom's going to watch like we've never listened to METALLICA. How Dare You? And Your Dad was a drummer. Okay so your mom's a singer. Your Dad was German. F- a whole bunch of musical influence was it and it says also in your bio that you didn't choose music until later but like growing up singing with them was kind of like you felt like a pressure like trying to grow up and be like your parents are both doctors. And you're like well shit like that my my. They always let us do what we wanted to pick and choose what we liked and now he's just something fun for me. I was never I was never like I gotTa do this or I Gotta. I gotta be inquirer stuff like that. I really wanted to be a football player. But the height thing didn't work so well for me so yup me too was Exercise induced asthma. Or that's what I called it. Exercise Induced Asthma Yup. Yup I read it. I read it online and said to my coach printed out of fake documents. Now now that's cute. I guess if in you also studied like when you went to college you studied classical and like like like jazz vocal training. I also said studied classical so hands out the what. What do you think is the biggest discipline that you learned from that that you transfer to your current musical nothing? My next question was the biggest bullshit. You were fed. Mom Voice teacher hates me so much light so bad I mean literally like the only thing really is was breath control and the warmth said I. Do you know before you know if I have. You know rough voice before the night before. Yeah so yeah. That's pretty much a silver member. Those like God. Off A warm-up does everyone have terrible warm-ups they learned in band or choir with like dumb rhyming scheme because like I've a blue black socks they never get dirty. Why why was that a thing? No one else knows? I've theater ones for my. Yeah silence on a dull dark dot. What anybody have any embarrassing childhood? No musical memories is just us can't be parents were cool. We had cool jam sessions. We weren't listening to damn black socks. Maverick get dirty. So how did you guys meet craigslist? Yup It's twenty eighteen. We can say it. I've actually met one of my bands and craigslist is kind of crazy. But it's just the hidden gems you know that's how I got my lease. That's yeah craigslist. Yep Your lease your like your house. Damn that's genius. What is your ad? Look like or what did you respond to all on that ad I it was just. Hey we're looking for the singer soul singer and come to our house and GM and I was like okay little nervous just to be clear. He's talking about this bill craigslist experience that he's talking about all right. So what's going on craigslist? Where did you guys meet then? I don't remember through the musician family in Austin really. We played with different. We all play an cover band in diff- he's in another cover band and then we're in another cover band musician. The musician family in this town really. That's how it happened. It's true it never ceases to amaze me when I go to stock the next week's performer and I follow them. And it's like has all been followed by thirty people that are also have been on the show. It's the collaboration in Austin Mike. How is that different than any of your experiences musically growing up or otherwise? It's just everybody really wants to help everybody out. It's really cool like say I couldn't do the GIG gets I have another keyboard player that I'll work with vice versa. Them Rights Man. I'm sorry man I'm the only guy with two boards in town but no we all you know like that community is just help each other out either through that or if somebody gets their stuff sold and we all put on facebook. Hey look for these drums. They look for the keyboard and stuff. It's just a really good community. We all help each other out. And I've this is the only place that I know that it really does. Yeah you want to play with the best people so you lift up the people in your community to be also the best. That's what I love about Austin soundbite that no one ever gets me saying fun things because usually trip spit on my microphone. I it's fine You played like the Saxon. One to one played like Oliver Tanning. What's your favorite place to play? Man of all of them want to one is mainly. It's Home Depot and Greg Adesina shoutouts. Y'All they're wonderful Owners I really just. I started out playing there when it was on this street. And they've been really supportive in my music and everybody's music and that's one of my favorite home basis for sure and you. Yeah like you started your career on like fourth fifth and sixth. I work on six three now and I know it's like it's like the saddest little armpit but it. She has her gyms every once in a while. I was wondering if you had any I mean everyone has a gnarly six street working experience. But do you have any good stories of performing river? Six thousand one time and you know I'm not I don't ever get mad when a girl gets up and you know and on the stage because that's always nicer me. But she proceeded to try to grab the MIC from me. And you know have you. Have you ever experienced? No I have not. I have had people say stuff to me but no one ever came up on stage. Yeah I would I would. I would leave if somebody started walking out like this there. You go yes peers. I was like yeah no I can sing in and Britney Spears after that you cannot say no cannot feel like I can sing filters through Rolodex of good singers. Britney spears not dave. I'm GonNa get hate mail for that sorry. Sorry but I've heard you just don't steal my Goddamn Microphone. I guess like. Do you prefer screaming fans singing fans dancing fans all of that all of that and all the energy. I get from that great. You're right tipping fans correct. That's on the top of this right there. I like this. You guys have like. I would like to hear all of your input on what you could tell every patron of every music show in Austin if you could give them one little tip that's maybe it could be a speed tip me. That could be goes along with what he was talking about earlier. Chick jumping up on stage. But don't try to talk to us while we're playing. That happens a lot. The only

"To learn more that's MRC live in doubt or Curtis Lee was a friend of mine I'm not a very long time is an iconic figure in New York City really any founded the guardian angels and when he founded the guardian angels he came under a lot of attack we must be creating a militia does not creating a militia this is a community service of public service and he's doing it again today a public service courteously what my colleague WABC in New York how are you Sir I'm just fired up I'm telling you Marc you know I have some anger management issues at a take out thugs I introduce them to pain compliance when they violate the rights of people but recently this upsurge an anti semitic attacks against the Jewish residents of a tri state area New York New Jersey and upstate New York has caused me to absolutely blush brush from capillaries because the third time I've seen these three generations since I started back in nineteen seventy nine I was in the middle of the crown heights riots in which young blacks were attacking the Lubavitcher community the ultra orthodox and for three days this city under David Dinkins it's may chose to do nothing they told the cops to stand back and the Lubavitch they asked the guardian angels to come in and we were there for three straight months round the clock to protect them I thought okay everybody learned their lesson we would not allow this in this era as we enter the new century happen again I couldn't have been more hopelessly wrong back on December tenth you may have remembered mark to these black Hebrew Israelites in a stolen truck pullout rifles go charging into a kosher supermarket in the hardy Jersey city on Martin Luther king Boulevard Jews was starting to move in and they started shooting their aim to kill Jews say a trained in Ohio four months to try to kill as many Jews as possible they had a bomb in the truck they didn't detonated or it would have leveled five square blocks and still there was no I'll grade tomorrow like dude officials and then there were a series of attacks in Brooklyn where I was born and raised against the ultra orthodox their young black youth would come up and they would sucker punch Jews and knocked him down and rob them and stomp them and beat them and we saw the videos we saw the photographs and the politicians they impotent and I kept saying look look this this is not like the anti semitism we saw in San Diego or Pittsburgh or Charlotte no no no no he's a black anti semite and none of our elected officials black or white would address it rabbis to reference and then that's when I just basically said guardian angels we have to do what we've always done come to the aid of people wore in distress the Jewish people need us we need to go into the neighborhoods again and this time mark we didn't just go in there to fund the anti Semites because you know it when I exercise he needs to see something say something we give you a therapeutic back was charging you guys suck concrete it would tell you you come into this neighborhood this Jewish neighborhood again you're gonna have double trouble leaving it and that is the language that the thugs and the anti Semites understand pain compliance and then ever since we did that following the attack in Muncie ana Hanukkah night in which dinner was being served by a rabbi in a crazed maniac black guy comes in with a machete and tries to kill as many Jews as he could in Rockland county we jumped into action and to the credit of the guardian angels and the Jewish community working in solidarity with this mark there hasn't been a single attack since because we're not just protecting Jews with teaching them the man and woman up and patrol their own neighborhoods and most importantly marked to show hooks and fight back this is a remarkable thing you're doing have you come under attack because you are defending Jews against this violent movement in these African American communities and so forth absolutely so like what's wrong with you Kurdish most of the members that I choose you've seen a mark with a predominantly black and Hispanic so they try to play let's stop right there I want you to explain it to the nation most guardian angels are black and Hispanic tried come from urban areas when Alan thirteen countries a hundred and thirty cities around the world most all black and brown some white some age in a summer Jewish but most the gentiles and I said this has nothing to do with color this has to do with the historical anti semitism that rears its ugly head I said it's the seventy fifth anniversary of the Holocaust and your children and children's children don't know how significant that was in history it's repeating itself and you just want to stand idly by and accused us the good Samaritans coming to the aid of the Jews trying to build self defense within the community you're attacking us when in fact you should be disappointing your own children and those of you who think the Jews are responsible for everything for instance mark lament the number one rapper in the world JZ a billionaire now had a line in which he wrapped in a lot of people you know they repeat the wraps over and over why is it that Jewish people own all the property in the world what the hell is he talking about and then you mix it with an iconic figure screwy Louis Farrakhan and the nation of Islam who calls Jews termites a gutter religion and blames choose war every thing that is gone wrong in history and you say it is a now I so to get a sense there is nobody correcting that ill will being aimed the Jews so if Jews don't stand and fight for what they know is right you can't depend on the gentiles to do a March you gotta be like the Jews in Israel top top defend yourself don't allow yourself to be turned into victims and speed bumps what about the mayor mayor at the Kamil come read bill the blouse you I called the part time may have the dope from park slope he went to a meeting of all the big markers in the Jewish community of course what did you want to hear from me they wanted to write to the roll out the red carpet and he gets up into the bully pulpit he's talking about neo **** Confederates he's talking about that coming up from Charlottesville that's right Debbie you once by neo **** groups and they're looking at one another the big markets in the Jewish community into this gradual shook this guy has no idea what he's talking about and that's when they started ringing my phone off the hook right before shop is right before the Sabbath and take courage she came to our aid in crown heights when the blacks were attacking us said will you defended us and we need you to defend us again and immediately I mobilize so the guardian angels and I said there are into you know some instances you say old there are two points of view I said there on two points of view here mark is one point of view the Jews are being victimized and the anti Semites in this particular instance happen to be young black youth and they need to be stopped in their tracks now why is what you are saying going to be considered controversial one it is provable factual and why is it that more and more so called leaders in New York City aren't standing up as a because of the race element do you think absolutely look the leader of the pack is Andrew evil eyes Cuomo can calm all the second the son of my ideal for charbroil dot com can come of the first he likes his us you know he's professor oreo he talks was this a tidal wave and you know code language is supporting Donald Trump for older sibling are present for all of this he has absolutely nothing to do with this but they can't get it out of its will to say it's a result of anti semitism and I need to educate our young people in the community the channels are not our enemies they aren't taking on property they're not stealing for us in fact the elevating us look at the many hospitals the philanthropic endeavors will give the names on the side a major educational institutions many other happen to be Jewish names they're there to help not just your own people they have IT help all people and no one in the black community is saying that they need to say that from the bully pulpit in the churches on Sunday they need to say that is elected officials both white and black but they're weak they fall like cheap cameras and they're afraid to alienate a constituency that let's face it will paint them as racist and god forbid they be called a racist they they range they can't get up they have falling from that they need to stand up did they not have any onions as men he is mark you know they don't all right Curtis well you guys to keep the peace and that's so much appreciated that community in the "We're honored to have we love them courteously will good morning collie heard new to three here on WABC Curtis Lee what Curtis and Julie I could morning Curtis for the purposes of our discussion referred to me as the righteous gentile the right to strike the right okay all the love and I will tell you that I get text almost every day is almost gone and knowing how much white people appreciate only thirty stories of what sort of burning on a very serious note what you've done going out there with the guardian angels and I know this because I know you a long time not as long as party but a long time it all comes from the heart you're not doing this for publicity not doing this you are a friend of the Jewish people and I'm telling you we appreciate it in a big big way well you know what why this happened the lubavitchers who live in crown heights remember it was a part time may have the dough from park slope the blood show who went there to me with all the mockers who's talking about white white right wing extremism Leo **** fax yes they're responsible for anti semitism and they called me up and they said right before Xabi she got to bring the guardian angels and just like he did during the riots in crown heights said this guy doesn't understand its black anti semitism all these actions why can't I semitism so we started in crown heights were also patrolling Williamsburg world park will be in Muncie this weekend or even go to your old hood it would flag which he made was even invited them because we not only patrolling the areas with teaching choose to fight back don't turn your cheek your Old Testament god what is his attorney G. does no testament Old Testament eye for an eye tooth for a tooth the way it should be and speaking for myself and I'm proud of you courteously when and minor what you do let me I'm not some latter day Oscars Schindler that's not why I volunteered to join you and become a decoy enter to perhaps every head maybe wanted to with these anti semitic bugs on the street I happen to grow up in the south the Bronx in the projects and was victimized several will similarly because of my race yes so I know what it's like it when I see these videotapes of some of these religious Pete nice older usually religious guys walk about a block and getting smacked with it from behind get there that's knocked off if you reach the hell out of me and who's doing it the black on black could that's right of course I said I don't even know it and I'm not that the blood she'll call can you get that out of jail we have a problem with black anti semite that's why it was so furious last Monday talking about crown heights and younger rose about cover so I was so furious last Monday when the news was giving shop and all this credit for having this is not I rabbi Snyder open hall about his offices is there a bigger jul hate blacked out right it is unbelievable the of March I thank whatever it is you see aus would tell you started with the store fronts the blood showing Cuomo blustery get to started a much no not but you know some Bernie this is personal for you and me because we got to pay back said we got to pay pay bad yeah we got to pay back to Jews you were brought up Roman Catholic I was brought up Roman Catholic they usually teachers a Jesus on the cross you know good that the Christ killers the Christ killers where part of the reason for that historically so you all you all right you went to translate guilty is a yes I am Catholic guilt that's why when the Jews call me I drop everything I go it's a look it's programmed in our DNA gentiles would program to be anti Semites black white every shade in between third world for slow when things go wrong in our life what do you do shoot even blame the Jews when you such needs to I'm not sure I agree with the whole you don't have to I don't know just you know I grew but let me just say this so so I admired what you're doing and I I had this idea that I would go join you and yeah a track some of these people elect like a magnet dress up as a decoy in some of the city the city guard and maybe we can exact some retribution and the you know like I said I was going to hide under cover put a machete other echo now that's no and that's it Mister teen style so what you beat that see me fire with fire let me give you a better better idea could have already met with the big markers and some of the Irish cop to the ninetieth precinct but as they used to go under cover dressed as high serum in Williamsburg when they were getting attacked by the Hispanic gangs who lived in the south side is now all millennials and hips is there but the dirty ones young no bikers the dukes of Phil be mad dogs all of them that we had battles and I would go there with the guardian angels in Chobham and we would have battles in the street right on any DJ training Broadway and I said I'm a go with the ninetieth precinct talk to some of the old I Wisconsin say what do you think it we judge bernama ger Cup in the garb of the has seen him of the sat Mar and pull both wheel big boys they bigger than most of the other hazards but the black cat on you put the black coal put you out there walking around not even a bit you don't need to be okay just to walk around and you like the the cheese in the trap right anti semitic or acts out there yeah and I'm telling you it can work Bernie because they're going to look at you when they had to say he thinks she's one tough to look at look at a walk of my cell phone out get always for the bait yes you don't say don't fall and I tell you what after walking around levy and bad food and have a my old the key areas in the Williamsburg community and if the anti Semites don't come out for whatever reason going to the mossy Avenue project which is right on the border flushing in Paul and you can walk through the must see have you projects are you gonna scream out of a man who was also you want to you wonder why the Jewish people old all the property you tomorrow go well with all the men no I was wringing squeeze you will you'll gonna like fly you them up you go to screen the base and say this is so and there were you going to I will be telling me we hope that you know yeah I mean I heard you say you're gonna be like five blocks away too we can't scare will on a roof somewhere rooms I need aid immediately I can't wait five minutes for you to come down right well I'm full face an awful you know these ten ten teenage thug you got to take a few blokes con before we give them a therapeutic back massage and have these anti semite suck concrete it they got they got to give you beat arsenal is no vote and balanced offensive and and to be completely serious we we just saw what happened not far from where I live now and I I'm full of spoken able it's pretty slow there but now as opposed to the morning side parking we saw this young lady all kidding aside trying to buy we'd end up getting stabbed like twenty times and dying one of one a series not your pie blocks away Bernice to one is beautiful thing for my people the Jewish people and one of these low life which is entirely possible if not probable he's dead you pray to your god in Christ the Jews god hi shell we'll.
