Steph Curry is the Warriors unicorn in this fairy tale
Kevin Durant might not believe in fairy tales. But his coach believes in unicorns. Huh? Bear with me - this is where we are with the Warriors. We’ve run out of basketball words to describe what the last four years have been like and what the next six months may require so now we’re using terms that come from children’s picture books.

Warriors at their best when Klay Thompson finds his groove
You're listening to the spoken edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. Why are years at their best? When Klay Thompson finds his groove, Stephen curry, and Kevin Durant are transcendent players with MVP trophies on their mantles and the skill and bravado to singularly take command of games, but the warriors are transcendent team when Klay Thompson climbs into its catch and shoot groove. Thompson epitomizes how Golden State became an NBA powerhouse movement without the ball, unselfishness togetherness. He could be the leading man on countless teams, but he happily embraces his role as third wheel on a dynasty. The warriors returned home Wednesday night after an unbeaten road trip punctuated by Thompson's record record-breaking display Monday night in Chicago, he made fourteen three pointers and dropped fifty two on the bowls then came back to earth a bit and scored eighteen in a one thirty one to one twenty one victory over New Orleans. Not surprisingly the crowd at oracle arena buzzed. When Thompson drained his first and only three just a minute nine. One thousand nine seconds into the game. But he also spurred a similar if less obvious murmur in Chicago when he emphatically busted out his early season shooting slump when he gets going it brings out a different vibe in the whole building head coach Steve Kerr said it's hard to describe. But whether it's at home or on the road, something happens when clay gets going this, mostly traces to the way Thompson finds his shots curry and Durant constantly have the ball in their hands. Curry often dribbles into open looks occasionally from preposterous distances as does Durant usually on mid range jumpers Thompson acts like he's allergic to dribbling so his shooting streaks offer a certain amount of dramatic build-up. See Klay, Ron see Klay cut. See clay curl around a screen catch the ball, and immediately let fly you see it happen off this sort of tic TAC toe offensive action where it's three passes and a great screen Kerr said it's beautiful basketball. There were so many possessions the other night that just made me in our coaching staff smile. That's how you wanna. See a team worked together with simple passing and screening and ball movement, or as Thompson succinctly put it and explaining the crowd reaction to his big nights. I think it's because usually when I'm touching the ball. It's going up quickly. It was no coincidence to see Thompsons outburst during one of his team's most dominant games of an utterly dominant era. The warriors lead ninety two fifty at halftime Monday night. Then briefly expanded the advantage to forty five points early in the third quarter. They're out there mind-blowing best. When Thompson is racing around the court furiously searching for open space, they can adopt. When he struggling clearly as Koreans Durant illustrated with their dynamic show in the season's first seven games Thompson shot fourteen percent from three point land in those games five or thirty six astoundingly and the warriors still went six one, but the approach some sort of mystical sporting wrong when the big to becomes the big three. Then the warriors remember how they changed basketball shunning isolation. Plays for an artistic heat move. Moving share the ball style. Once Klay starts hitting shots. He moves even more assistant coach Bruce Frazier said and when clay moves better the team generates this frenetic pace, even in the half court. It's collective Frazier. Noticed Thompson stood around more than usual on the first two games of the trip that he has the -tated to say something to Thompson. Because sometimes it's better to stay quiet when he's in a slump. Frazier. Also knows Thompson belying his softspoken nature sees everything happening around him. He's very observant with a stoic face. Frazier said those are the dangerous ones. Thompson seldom offers a window into his thinking. He's the perfect third wheel more than content to let curry and Durant, weight and glory and attention taken ever. So brief interview with Thompson before Wednesday night's game. He stopped by his locker to put on his shoes before heading to the court to warm up allowing for a two minute conversation. Thompson was cordial. If preoccupied as he reflected on what it felt like to bury jumper after jumper two nights. Earlier. That's the best. Feeling he said, but it's something that doesn't come around too often. It's a great flow, but it's hard to recreate maybe once a year or something Thompson offered an uncommon slash of personality when he arrived at oracle on Wednesday. This was Halloween after all. So he showed up dressed as Jackie moon, actor will Ferrell's character in the two thousand eight parody semi pro. And Thompson nailed it from the headband to the white number thirty three Flint tropics jersey with orange aqua trim. He even spun a red white and blue basketball on his finger as he walked from the parking lot to the arena warriors public relations chief, Raymond Ritter. Countered by dressing up as Thompson wearing a gold headband as Thompson day when he sustained a cut requiring two stitches Monday night, along with Thompson's number eleven jersey over address shirt shorts and size, fifteen high tops Ritter usually wears size, nine those sites sparked a smirk from the typically expressionless Thompson. Oh my gosh. She said pretty funny. Ron criteria is a San Francisco Chronicle staff writer. Email Arkwright check at SF chronicle dot com. Twitter at Ron critic.

Warning. This product contains nicotine nicotine is an addictive chemical. This is this even a Smith show podcast. Providing welcome to the latest addition it Stephen a Smith show coming at you as I love to do every weekday over the airwaves of ESPN radio two hundred and fifty plus markets across the United States of America, plus ESPN radio on Sirius XM channel eighty also ESPN radio simulcast over the live national television airwaves of ESPN news number to call up as always relate, say ESPN. It's inundate seven to nine three seven seven six time for straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Best phones. Best networks, no contracts. We saw what happened last night. We saw it at the NBA was percolating. Everybody was a real good feel good move. I wouldn't use the word festive. But it certainly appeared that way in Minnesota where Derrick rose were looked like the Derrick rose that used to play with the Chicago Bulls came out there put on the show. Never did that for the Knicks indefinite aches. So they didn't do that in Cleveland last year. But definitely did it last night for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was absolutely spectacular. Dropping fifty points attacking the whole vigor. He was balling. No question about it. And you saw de way tweeting about them. Lebron James tweeted about a both with teammates of his in Cleveland last year for short stint before he had to take leave of absence from the team. But the bottom line is is that they're Derrick rose of last night. It was something specialty it really really was. He was absolutely fantastic. And when you looked at the way that he played against the Utah, Jazz and away. He outshot everybody on the floor. It was a complete attack moat all night long. It was incredibly impressive to see really was is the first time he scored forty plus points, March eighteenth two thousand and eleven and and some would argue is the first time he's looked like that since two thousand eleven he hasn't been that person. He has a look that way. People bring that stuff up and it's. The kind of thing that makes you say, wow. Wow. Two trains and thoughts on one hand. You're sitting there you're saying. Where the hell was this guy? Oh, what might have been? If it weren't for the injuries on the other hand, you're saying can you depend on moving forward. And here's where I get torn with somebody like him because you gotta understand something. First of all athletes are human beings. They have lives. They have feel that they have emotions they have all of these things that you know, we we we don't talk about enough unless it's negatively. But in the case of Derrick rose, let's be very clear about something one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He really really is nice guys professional athlete. He's a nice guy. He's not hard to root for the problem is is that he turned a lot of people off in the city of Chicago when he was talking about being healthy enough and not jeopardizing his ability to walk around with his kids when they graduate from college well high school, and they were still relatively young surveys. Like, what the hell you talking about what you decide ninety three million dollar contract. Nobody wants to hear that coming out of. Mouth that's utterly ridiculous. And as a result people turned against them and looked at it with a raised eyebrow. And said what the hell is this? But along the way what we forgot is this. Derrick rose is still one of the better players in the NBA. Is four hundred and fifty plus players in the National Basketball Association. Derrick rose in the bottom, two fifty. Or two twenty five. He's not in a bottom half of that. Derrick rose. Is not a bad basketball player. A matter of fact that any given moment he's very explosive and electrifying. It's just that we were. So accustomed to seeing him do that when he was younger. That the minute. We didn't see that anymore. We said he has nothing when in fact has not the case, he's just not what it used to be. And I got newsfeed somewhere along the line probably within the next two or three years. We may find ourselves saying the same thing about Russell Westbrook because he will you talk about the game basketball. And you talk about what guys bring to the table. You gotta keep something in mind here when your success is predicated on on your athleticism things like your speed. You're your hops, you're jumping ability, etc. When those kind of things. Oh, what instigate? Your success? You're going to have shorter span than most see what makes a body like Steph curry special and laser gentlemen, I'm here to tell you right now if the season where the end today's obviously just the first couple of weeks of the season. But if the season where the end today. Steph. Curry is my MVP not the Greek free. Not Anthony Davis. Not LeBron James. Not Kowal in it. It would be Steph curry. Everyone talk about Greek freak walk. He's the only defeated team in basketball. The Greek freak is average twenty seven to ten fifty two percent shooting. He six tank it gets to hold. It will can finish it the basket. He's a terror in open court, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, all of that's true. My simple response to all of that. Is this have you been watching Steph curry play this year? Have you been paying attention? These gentlemen, Steph curry. The two time league MVP Steph curry. Do y'all realize average in thirty three game. The y'all realize that Steph curry is averaging thirty three again a game on fifty five percent shooting from the field. And fifty three percent shooting from the three point line. Later. I'm gonna say this again because I don't think so you understand what the hell I'm saying. Steph curry. Three-time champion the reigning to top defending champion, Golden State Warriors the capital that team. That's Steph curry who six three the baby face assessing the greatest shooter. I have ever seen in my life. That's Steph curry. The I realize he's averaging thirty three points on fifty five percent shooting and fifty three percent from three point range and ninety one percent from the free throw line. He ain't going to the basket and finishing with high percentage dunks. He's pulling up from thirty. Thirty. Do you understand that have Steph curry pulls from forty? Nobody's gonna say a bad shot. Do you have any idea? How ridiculous this marksmanship is this man. Gimme whoever you want. Gimme Ray Allen. Give me Reggie Miller. Give me Alan Houston. Guys today's game. Like, the great glade. Thompson of Bradley Beal or somebody go old school on me. Go Larry Bird. Go Ricky Pierce, go Dale Ellis. Go downtown, Freddie Brown. You wanna bring it a mid range game. Hell let's bring Philly into the equation through Andrew Toney into the mix. Who was a two-point shoot another three point shooter. But my God what an incessant as a scorer motifs, and Dr J, Julius Erving and Bobby Jones and Darryl dog is they'll window championship without Andrew Toney. Go look them up. You could bring whatever shooter you want. You could go ask my buddy a man that I love like a father figure the great Sonny hill the basketball aficionado in Philadelphia. And if there's somebody that was a better shooter he'll bring up somebody like Gail Goodrich on Elgin bet. He'll know he's forgotten more basketball. The most of us know, I don't even think he could come up with a better shooter. Steph curry. Let me not forget his daddy. Dell curry. He's got those jeans his little brother's in Portland. But let me be very very clear to you. Steph curry there's the greatest shooter I've ever seen on my fifty one years on this planet. I've never seen shoot a graded Steph curry ever in my life ever. It's never happened ever. I didn't say whereas player because I don't think he's better than Kevin Durant. I think Kevin Durant wanna top three players in the world. But in terms of purely shooting, the basketball, and you could make an argument that Klay Thompson is a catch and shoot shooter. Then Steph curry, okay, fine. I'm talking overall catches you off the dribble fall in a way. Stationary mid range, long rage corners, perimeters, keys, whatever. In terms of the entire us know that is placed before our very eyes. I have never in my life. See integrates shoot. Steph curry. Ever ever? And I say all of that to you to say. I guess that's what makes last night. So special. For Derrick rose. Because what you see Derrick rose drop his fifty. Oh, Steph curry Bata where he just had a little of poise last night. Do all these Anthony Davis. That's about thirty seven nothing. W. Matter of fact, gentlemen, do you know last week Steph curry dropped fifty and three quarters on the Washington Wizards. This fifty points. Steph know, what Steph curry is that natural to this, man. He's that special. Derrick rose special for different reason. When we look at it. And we sit up there and say, hey, he's going through a lot personal things. It's none of our business. Of course, covering the NBA. We hear thinks we hear a lot of things when it comes to people's personal life. I don't go there. It's none of my business. You ain't in a police blotters and ready in the news. I got nothing to say that show business as a basketball player Derrick rose. Can be electrified. But he does have you thinking he does have you thinking about what's he going to do? How long is he going to let you know? What else they got him thinking about? Okay. What does that do? Jimmy butler. Nothing. You can't go for one game and look Derrick rose and talk about what he's going to do because you got a smile or -ssume that he's going to stay healthy. And we all know better than that. He's not going to not if you lock him more minutes and put it on the floor night in night out. Derrick rose is not durable. It's not he's not durable. So guess what? That's not going to happen. You can't look at their grows. And think that he's just going to last that doesn't work that way. And speaking of anything, let me tell you the right now, I'm sick and tired of Jimmy Butler. Everybody missing the story. Jimmy butler. Jimmy Bulloch would love to be a New York knick. He wouldn't by being a Brooklyn that. He wants to place where somebody's gonna pay them. You the New York Knicks. You can't because you gotta make sure you got enough money available in case kyri or Kevin Durant decide they want to come to New York not to say that that's going to happen. But the mere possibility that it could happen me during a position where you the New York Dick's you can't make a move. You can't compromise your cap space one bit. One bit and jeopardize not not having the money to have a for those guys can't do that. You gotta make sure you get those guys. At least one of them. You're going to have about thirty five or thirty seven million available and cap space. If you're the New York Knicks, you gotta have room for one of those folks. But I gotta do for you, even though Jimmy Boyle is no Kevin Durant. Even Jimmy Butler is no superstar in this league. Jimmy, Velez is a special player. He's got the heart of a lion. He plays on both sides of the ball. He's agit about twenty four game. He's improved his three point shooting and his over perimeters shoot. He hits like six or seven three point range the other night against the Lakers. On threes. Jimmy Butler is a special player. And when you consider the way he stormed in the practice after wasn't traded before the season began and was just in guys faces at calling dudes out, and then very duty call out. He didn't got the third string and beat the stars. That's pretty damn embarrassing. But that's what he did. That's what Jimmy Butler did. And now you got people sitting up there talking about well, call Anthony towns game is affected by the friction or the -versity of of Jimmy Bulloch. Get the hell over it. First of all, I don't believe it. And Secondly, I don't care if it's true. Now, call Anthony hat tells at twenty five or sixteen I think it was last night. Is that number? I know. Yeah. Twenty five last, but he put up similar numbers against the Lakers. The other night to that was Jimmy Butler on a flop believe you're at twenty five and sixteen he bawled out last night. But obviously the story was Derrick rose, but call Anthony towns the face of that franchise. I got a lot of love for call. Anthony towns, I think he could ball underestimated him. I thought Jalil Okeafor were be in this class. Boy was I wrong about that. Tom Calipari hit him at Kentucky. We didn't know all the things that call Anthony towns could do and he is a special player. No question. But if you got a guy like Jimmy Butler question the guys will to win. Guess what? I wanna see. I wanna see call Anthony towns coming out and fighting like a pit bull saying Jimmy Butler, who the hell you think you on? This is my team. We could throw down. Anytime you want to this is Dan team. I'm the one that's the face of this franchise. Call Anthony towns do that. Then we got Andrew Wiggins. I mean, you got cats basically talking about how teammates feel all he cares about as money. Now. Fairness the Android is. I don't know him. I don't know that to be the case about him. And last night when Derrick rose exploded Anthony Wiggins was one of those seemed real real happy about it. I happy about it for him, which shows the unselfish this that you want to see from a guy getting paid twenty seven million a year from you. That's true. That's factual. But in the end, you got guys that were happy for Derrick rose, you got Gaza. Minnesota trying to come together. I don't give a damn how much they come together. You don't have enough to win and there's no shit. Everybody talk about Jimmy Butler is being selfish. Well, let me tell you something. You're damn right. Your day. Right. He's being selfish. What do you think is this all calculating? And this is why don't get mad at him. Listen to what I'm saying. Jimmy Butler is not engaging in a kind of selfishness where it it. It's it's like a temper tantrum, and he can't control themselves. So you know, what about goodness he has to go? No Jimmy Butler wants to go. He knows what teams he's willing to go to. But he also has enough, pride and intestinal fortitude. Where he ain't gonna go out on a court and play like straight garbage on purpose. He's gonna show you what a big town play is because he loves the game, and he loves to compete, and he ain't bowing down to anybody. But he does not want to be in Minnesota so of his body's aching and he wants a night off doesn't moan. If he's going to be a distraction, a call Anthony, tell somebody his attitude is hell would it deal with it? 'cause y'all know out I want to be here. It's not that he wants them to play like garbage. He feels they should be strong enough to overcome some kind of adversity. He's doing it on purpose. And my point is I don't know what happened to us. What the hell has happened to us. Let me ask you this question. John both JC and John by produce more. Can I saw the question Nuno? You listening to be can you listening to me? I watch listen to be right here. My team have we ever had thanksgiving together. We don't have thanksgiving dinner. Get have we how about Christmas gift exchange Christmas? We've never done. I mean, I've given y'all gift y'all having given me a damn, but that's a different story for another day. The point is we have not exchanged Christmas gifts. But we don't have a problem working together. Who the hell says that everybody's got a hug one another and sink coup by in order to do their jobs. The problem with America does softening the Kleenex tissues wing of America that Sunday problem politics corporate, America, sports, world and beyond. Why we gotta get a little. Don't get me wrong. Don't be flagrantly disrespectful to the point where you can't work with each other. But if you don't particularly like each other or you you engage in challenging one another. So what? So what? I don't think Jimmy Butler has to get out of Minnesota. Because oh my goodness. He's a bit abrasive. I think Jimmy bullets gotta get out of Minnesota because he doesn't want to be there. And when somebody sits up there and says to you I want out get him out. Get them out. That's what I'm saying. That's feel about it. And I think anybody's smart they will feel the same way to it say ESPN today seven nine three seven seven six. That's just one of the things with getting into that brought up that n VP chase in the NBA two weeks to the season. If you had to pick the MVP right now who would it be? I'm interested in knowing your thoughts about that. Also interesting on your thoughts about Jimmy Butler, there grows performance last night was fantastic. But I got news for you rather have shooter than somebody who successes predicated on his ability, and that of Russell Westbrook because I think there's will diminish quicker than that of shooter. Also gonna get into Amer Rogers about to go up against Tom Brady on Saturday night football, drew Brees going up against the Los Angeles. Rams. I think MVP vote is on the line. Everybody talk about Patrick Mahomes, right now, you can make a legitimate argument. He's a front runner. No doubt about that. Got the same record as New Orleans drew Brees complete seventy seven percent of his passes. There's only throwing one interceptions on the year. He's been absolutely phenomenal. It is mob believed if drew Brees plays lights out against the Los Angeles. Rams the Sunday. I think he's going to be in the lead to capture league MVP honors. That's what I believe it. Eight say ESPN, it's seven to nine seven seven six. You're listening live on the ESPN radio. ESPN news. If you're a smoker. Switching isn't easy. You've tried vapes. Andy six they just didn't deliver the satisfaction you expected but jewel is different. It's not an e cigarette it's vapor product that actually satisfies plus Jewess simple to use. It eight say ESPN to two three seven seven speaking that rooch, I resident and analysts extraordinaire Ryan clock who started LSU years ago before he was ultimately want to bony NFL the Pittsburgh Steelers than portrayed the Steelers organization about going to the Washington Redskins. Nevertheless, Ryan clock also played at LSU, and he presently lives in Ben Rouge, Louisiana. So I'm going to be real interested in talking to him and teasing him about has LSU togs gonna give down this Saturday night bought Ella. Bama. Okay. So I just wanted to make sure that said that role Taibbi roll Todd it eight say ESPN, it's today. Seven to nine three seven seven six breaking news. Trade has taken place. In the National Football League. A trade has indeed taken place, and John when you get an opportunity you come up in the and get my phone calls up there for me, please they very much a trade has taken place and that trae involves the Marius Thomas wide receiver extraordinaire. Let me take that back. Why receiver extrordinary is any longer? But it never Broncos traded to Maria's Thomas and a seventh round pick to the Houston Texas for fourth round pick poor a source Thomas first game for the Texans will be believe it or not this Sunday in Denver against his now ole team the Denver Broncos barris Thomas Secondly receiver on a Denver Broncos. He's had about. What is it here? I mean, if you look at him he's had a little bit over four hundred yards receiving it's one of those situations where you look at the Maria's Thomas and hear what he used to be. But could it be because he hasn't had any quarterbacks. Could it be because case keenum's only complete about sixty two percent of his pants this year? Isn't that do jet now? Shawn Watson at sixty four percent. He's already throw for twenty one hundred yards. Fifteen touchdowns seven sceptres quarterback rating of ninety eight of sixty we get all of that for destroying Watson. But will you? Will you will fuller goes down to ace yell injury last week? And as a result the Texans were desperately in search of another to receive it a play opposite. The Andrea Afghans. I applaud the Texas for making this because what they're saying is we're in first place in the AFC south. We can't count on the mar we gotta take advantage of these moments while they're visible to us to Shawn Watson de'andre Howkins Lamar Miller who's average over four and a half yards about four and a half yards. A carry Russian out of the backfield. You don't find all of this every day after losing their first three games to open the season. They won five straight. They beat Indian overtime and then Dallas overtime back tobacco tea games. Then they'd be in buffalo, Jacksonville and Miami. Now, they're on the road at Denver, which is a very winnable game for the Houston, Texas. You've got that situation. Stare in front of you. You gotta go out there and get a receivers of the fact that they went out and got to marry his Thomas have no problem with them. I believe in marriage Thomas, I believe in the manual Sanders. The fact is I don't believe in case keenum that much. I knew he was gonna take a dip down from what he wasn't Minnesota last year not to say, he's scrubbing. He can't play because I know that's not the case. But case keenum is no ri-. It's patching where he's an age old vetch and he gets off the bench and he plays lights out the way rival Patrick did. That's not case keenum. That's not who he is. And so if you are to me, if you the Denver Broncos, the person who should feel the worst and all of this is the manuals enders because clearly by Denver's willingness to unload Damaris Thomas what they're saying is we're looking forward to next year because we ain't going anywhere this year, the charges a better than us to Kansas City Chiefs better than than than us, and that's just within our division. You got the Houston, Texas, then the head of the AFC south. You got the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Baltimore Ravens Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC north. You got the New England Patriots a right in the AFC east. We ain't making no damn playoffs. That's basically what John Wayne a Denver Broncos the saying. So if I'm Emmanuel Sanders, that's the situa-. I'm looking at and it's a tough day for me to deal with. But it is what it is it they'd say ESPN, it's seven to nine three seven visits us get to the phones. Let's go to Freddie, and Oakland. You live Steven when he is being radio. He is, Freddie. Right talk to me was up was going on. Full about the war is. L ESPN for safer way. Right. You said they it's possibly baby might be the bay. I didn't say that. I did not say that. I said it's a possibility. They're not saying what strong sends a strong possibility that he was stayed because the Golden State Warriors Pacific told me there's no way in hell. They're losing him. They're not separating the splash brothers. They will do whatever it takes to keep him. That's what I said. But I said I'm hopeful that he would leave. And I also said that it's a possibility he would leave if they don't take care of them. Like, they say they are. Okay. So you look to the Y go stay, right? Okay. Okay. Then we'll wait a minute that they building across the bay. Yeah. Sanford. San Francisco, not Oakland. But go ahead. Okay. Okay. Did for know teammates. That's all you say is true. Stay. So you got a good. I hear the bay. So you know, going to. Kevin Durant says a lot about his teammates. So does mongering Tremont green wouldn't sign a contract extension is more money available for him next summer this the they're not gonna pay up. He might not into my entertained leaving not this summer after you got a situation. Klay Thompson Klay Thompson the situation where he might like to leave. If they don't show him the money. You got guys all the time talking about teammates and talking about an environment, and how they love it in a certain place, but in the same breath, they'll then turn around and say, yo Wisma money. Everybody else is getting paid. Kevin Durant set up there. What did he say today? He said, I see all of these guys getting paid all of this money. I'm waiting for my payday members said that. Okay. But you know, that the war is go take care. Kevin. They do that regardless. You know, you sure saying are you sure they're going to do that? Or you are by not all my on my day elected go after Anthony Davis. Well, you know, oh, wait a minute. You just say well, so there's. Hesitancy see what I'm saying? Feel you Brad because shaky Kelly. Happy. Like Kevin Kelly got that when I agree with you. Hardly. But Anthony Davis one of the top three players in the world. So let's keep that in mind. Appreciate the call for any. Thanks a lot. Let's go to John you're lava, Stephen they talk to John. Hey, good afternoon on Joe you on I shake in earlier about the fact that Fred Hoiberg really should not even have a job anymore. It was Ripa Aquino in kyron do both available as wondering what you thought about. Maybe taking all jock Burke is that Jason gave it up the NBA far as I'm concerned me say this. Let me say this you here's the problem taxing and gar Forman. And I'm not saying they're wrong about this. But they clearly want somebody. That's on the same page is them. Okay. We understand that. That's why does going. I don't give a damn what rip Patino says there's no way that you are accomplished as he is as a whole of fame basketball, coach, and brilliant basketball mind, and you're going to walk into a situation and find yourself listening to subordinate, you may not respect or you believe you should be more empowered than he could say anything to get back into the mix. But I don't know if that's the case and Obama the way I don't think rip Patino would work on the NBA level. Because again, even though it's. It's a high. It's a more uptempo pace than it's been a years past that grueling eighty two game schedule and the way Rick Pitino likes to run bereft of the talent that he would need in order to win. He might run those guys in his ground. Give them a heart attack man, and they ain't gonna go for it. So I just think it's a different day. And I don't think I think that combined with the young analytics dudes that are running so many teams not wanting to surrender that power. I think it's going to be one of those situations where be very difficult for Rick Pitino to get that job as pertains. Tyron Lou, listen this man, one champion he wanted championship. Yes. He had LeBron James. But there's a lot to be said for not messing it up. And I'm a supporter of Tyron Lou. And I think that he deserves another chance at a head coaching job in the NBA, assuming his health is right. But I would say this. I don't want it to be for teen. That's as not as impressive as the Chicago Bulls. I don't want that. Okay. What do you think? We'll be candidate think affairs work in creating water since he's been here. It's hard to say, right. It really is. I don't have an answer for you. And I'm usually a solution oriented guy. I don't know because I look at them as not being that talented of team. I really really look at it that way, and the people that our suggest people that they would have to you know, that could that could deal with the winning like, for example, let me throw this name out for you, man. Let's say somebody John like Larry Brown. Larry Brown can deal with the losing as long as you play hard. And you play the right way. You see what I'm saying because he doesn't mind tutoring. You and teaching you and allow you to grow Paxon and four men and the city Chicago might not go for something like that. So that's why wouldn't work you see my point. All right, man. I gotta run. I might even join you one day, bro. Thanks a lot. Brian. You live Stephen. They would some. Some. I'm gonna talk to me, man. I agree with your point of Steph. Curry definitely great issue. I've ever seen nominal and I agree to expand. Of course, he should be the MVP just to two weeks just after two weeks. Right, right. But I have two questions. Appoint about the VP. The one has nothing to do with people. What what do you? What do you think? Mattered. I don't I don't think maybe matters. Real quick because you're asking us to watch eighty two games. So play some kind of value on it incentivizes to matter to us and the players. That's what what's your second question because I gotta get on out of here. Real quick. Question is the last caller mentioned Tom Brady? I know. I know you're a big fan. He's a ban a lot of my boys. Take over Tom Brady. My question to you is how come the wing comparison football doesn't matter as much in comparison basketball when it comes to Kobe because because it's more complicated to coach football. There's more parts to organize ofensive line running backs position tied in why receivers under defensive side of the ball. You're defensive front. Your secondary, the linebackers free safeties corners, etc. Coordinators position coaches all of that other stuff infiltrates to proceedings so it gets away convoluted and complicate things to some degree. And it takes more of a team effort, whereas basketball, you have a Costa stinks. And if you're a superstar you can still make the playoffs. Our number two up next Jason Witten, he starts off our number to be right back. That's just a sample of what you hear on the Stephen swift show, weekdays at one PM eastern on ESPN.
