Fresh update on "curry" discussed on WEEI Show

"Over the last five years before LeBron got there. The bus families fighting with each other. Magic Johnson. I'm sorry as a team president, you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. There's plenty of guys who play games at high levels and they don't know what they're doing. A magic didn't know what he was doing. That organization didn't know what they were doing. And even before at the end with Kobe, they were still looking for Kobe. To save them from something that he couldn't save them from. LeBron shows up there. In that first year last year was rough. He gets hurt. And I thought there's no way you should be playing this man. They actually listened. They have talent now. And Allah Bron James continues to play in a postseason. He obliterated the Nuggets last night while Yonathan Coop Oh, sat at his office chair in his home and accepted an award and he really looked embarrassed while he was accepting the award. He's talking to Ernie Johnson, and you could see Yanis into the Campo. It looked like he didn't want to be. He would rather be anywhere else than accepting that award right there because he knows because we all know if we're talking about valuable player. When is it not LeBron last year and then other than that, when is it not? LeBron? And we've tried and this is part of the reason why we are sick Entirety of LeBron James, we have tried it with everybody. Russell. Let's make Russell not know Russell can't do it. James Harden. Let's make James know James Harden can't do it. Steph Curry. Let's make a Steph Curry. Hey, Golden State. No, Steph Curry doesn't have the physical domination of LeBron James. Yes, has changed the game in ways that I can't even describe to you. He has his place in history, No doubt. Nobody. Nobody does for organizations what LeBron James has done. Zion. Maybe someday, Luca. Maybe someday we don't know yet. Nobody touches those guys, and we will try to put them on that pedestal. Just like what we are really trying to do with the honest right now we have tried to replace Kevin Durant. That's half the reason why people are so bitter with Kevin Durant because they wanted to. He was the anti LeBron And then he went to Golden State. And it's man you're following again. And that's part of the reason. I beg you Honest to stay in Milwaukee. You can build a legacy You could build a legend. Have people come into Milwaukee, Wisconsin, of all places, and you could be that guy, but he probably won't and we'll get mad at ya honest for leaving and then we'll try to do it a design until science leaves. I will do it to Luke. And maybe maybe Luca will be that great hope. It's it's perpetual. Because we've tried to replace LeBron over the last 678 seasons, and he's irreplaceable. And the argument still, and this is something that you're gonna hate, but it's still the truth. This is an argument that still it's not about LeBron and Kobe. It's not about LeBron and any other player now it it's still an argument that goes back to you know who Because we love LeBron way we say we love LeBron. We just throw platitudes out there. Because we've gotten tired of it. His career. If we're talking about in the same tunes of movies it insists upon itself. Every year. He breaks some record that people didn't really care about before we dust off that argument. How we do it so often we don't even have to dust it off. It's just fresh. It's right there on the show. We start to argue about Michael, or we start to argue about LeBron and Michael. We get upset because LeBron almost makes it look easy. He goes to team team buckles to his pressure. He says he doesn't pressure them, which is the biggest lie he's ever told in his life. They buckle under pressure. That team still goes out and wins. LeBron carries them. He sucks the air out of everywhere He goes, and he still wins at a high level, and he can still be the most dominating player in the N B..

Trader Joe's Fall Products to (Pumpkin) Spice Up Your Shopping List

"Welcome to another of our short shopping list episodes. I'm Tara Miller director of words and phrases and clauses, and I'm Matt Sloan, the marketing product guy now just about everyone in every type of business has had to make adjustments during this pandemic but we're proud the trader Joe's has maintained a commitment to developing new products to giving you that sense of discovery on every visit. So, let the discoveries begin. All right hold on I'm just organizing. I don't even know where to start there. So many new products. What's purple on the outside creamy white on the inside and makes a Great Ship Donny Osmond socks no. Almost Masaaki sweet potatoes. They're not the normal sweet potato. They're not the bright orange sweet potato, their paler in color and flavor. Wise. I'm going to say that they're kind of like a roasted chestnut in obnoxious kind of way. But in a nice way like insists nutty sweetness these are great chips but wait met we sell. Masaaki. Potatoes in our protection when we can get them. These are delicious sweet potatoes people love them. They're great for you. You meant the sweet potatoes themselves. You mean in chip form that these should be considered some kind of health. Okay. These are potato chips, full disclosure, right So they come with all the caveats that regular chips do sweet potatoes themselves really good for you. I will stand by them. Those are probably in the store. Already I think those are coming in at the beginning of September or something like that, and they are limited because there's a limited number of these potatoes that can be made into chips. People associate trader Joe's with Pumpkins stuff in the fall. How about Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Slim's I mean this is a candy. Yes Pretzel but it's a pretzel that is swimming in really nice white chocolate with crushed pumpkin spiced pumpkin seeds and I think we're trying to figure out another way to Pumpkin on their one more time. These are just great. So if you like the peppermint. Pretzel Slim's. I think you'd be a fan of these to these are really tasty sweet with just a little salty. So you just WANNA keep coming back for more. Another thing. That is sweet. But I think not too sweet are the pumpkin spice batons that are coming in and those are kind of a very close relative to the cocoa batons that we have every day and the vanilla batons we have the villa batons. Do, and we've had coffee batons we lemon for awhile it's a wafer cookie with pumpkin spice filling inside I mean it's kind of simple and straightforward, but it's a you know kind of thing you could have with a cup of coffee or even some ice cream though should be in stores by the time. This podcast lands and folks should be able to grab those right away. They're just delicious when we're thinking about. What else to include as a Pumpkin version we often look to really popular products Brioche we sell an inordinate amount of that classic agee, Sweet french-style Bread. We have a Pumpkin Brioche coming I'm excited for this. I think French toast will never be the same. That was also super limited by the right like it's it's in and we'll have it for a little while, but it's not something that's going to be around for. You know months and months and months. That's our hope for infant works or it'll be a great. Saint. Patrick's Day breakfast and by that time it'll be green. So perfect. One of the things that was a big sort of revelation to me this year even though it's not something we invented it's not something we were the first to think of is the spicy pumpkin curry simmer sauce that's coming in. It's kind of inspired more by a Thai curry than Indian curry but it has all of those really classic curry flavors. With the addition of actual Pumpkin and it's like thick and it's creamy and it's got a really good kick to it. I'M GONNA. Say This is good. Right out of the jar actually with Yeah Yeah I can't wait to hear about how people put this to use. We are working on a recipe right now internally for a Vegetarian Spicy Pumpkin Curry potpie that we're hoping to have on our website and in the fearless flyer in late. September. Also, I think slated to be featured in an upcoming flyer many spicy Pumkin Samosas the. Sabih in the frozen section, this is not a Pumpkin pie situation at all. This is an appetizer wonderful bridge creamy spiced pumpkin filling. This does sort of flavor. Wise. Go more toward the Indian style curry Classic Somoza Spices are used this. These are delicious. They're really good with a number of different kinds of sauces has been a we've tried them with a Chutney but also with our sweet chili sauce, which takes its inspiration from Thai cuisine and the hot and sweet pepper Jelly these tastes really good dipped in any of those. I'm still focused and obsessed with Pumpkin Pumpkin Nada. Now, this is a Pumpkin pie situation. So think of a small Mexican inspired hand pie with delicious spiced kind of a classic spice, Pumpkin Pie Spice filling. So. Good. So not like spicy spice but like sweet savory spice, the spices more like our spiced apple cider or a traditional Pumpkin pie spice sat up I mean this would be great for breakfast I. Think because I like to have pie for breakfast you know pine a cup of coffee is a great way to start the day, and this is like a little pie. So it's like I'm just having a little Lil Pie wilpon. That's your new nickname. Okay.

Iran Executes Wrestler Accused of Murder After He Took Part in 2018 Protests

"For his life to be spared. 27 year old Naveed of Curry had been convicted for the killing of a security guard during anti government protests in 2018. Mr Curry said he'd been tortured. Into making a confession. Among those who called for the Iranian of thought is to show mercy where President Trump on the International Olympic Committee, which says it's shocked. By the execution. Tara. Separate FA is the researcher on Iran for human rights. What she's been telling me more about Navid of Curry and his standing is arrested in Iran. Naveed Afghan, participated in several national competitions and had run up position and the adolescence and youth national championship in Iran. Few years back, and was he taking part in anti government protests in 2018? So there have been several rounds of protests over the past 2 2.5 years in Iran. The protest that Naveed was prosecuted for took place in summer of 2018 in several cities, including in Shiraz, where he lived. So how did he come to be accused of stabbing to death? His security guards and so, according to documents Reviewed on DH news articles have been published about the case on the evening off one of the days that the protest was ongoing. Mr Torre Common who initially was reported as a security officer, but later was introduced as just an employee off the water Waste management company was stabbed to death close to his home. Naveed and his brothers were arrested about a month later. Naveed in one of his brother was also been implicated. Of him, his brother and a friend, And they all alleged that those confessions were obtained under torture. And in April off this year, the Supreme Court uphold the death sentence and quickly brushed over the serious allegations of torture and failed to investigate that, so there were no independent witnesses who Tied, Mr AFC hurried to the scene of the stabbing a cz faras, you know, according to authorities and footage is that been released? There's footage from one security camera. It is unclear if if the person in the video is exactly Naveed, and if that proves anything, anything beyond reasonable doubt, why do you think that the Iranian authorities decided to make an example off him? If you like on DH to execute him, even though there was this into A national outcry. I think that the rush nature off this sentence because Iranian authorities disregarded the procedural rules that they need to abide by and when executing someone shows that it had a political motive behind it, And I would say it's probably an attempt to defy the international and domestic outcry against the death penalty. So was there a campaign inside Iran to have him sped? Since July of this year, there has been an ongoing campaign. Online, mostly with the hashtag don't execute against the death sentence that have been issued in relation to the protest that have happened over the past two years. What's the Best Non-Dairy Milk Alternative?

"You can buy non dairy alternative beverages made from Soya Rice, almond, oat, coconut peas, hemp flax is there any particular reason that you might choose one over the others and for that matter are any of these more nutritious than cow's milk? Will. It really does depend on what you're looking for. If you don't eat meat for example, then you might want to choose one that somewhat higher in protein. If you're watching your weight on the other hand, you might prefer one that's lower in calories. So I compared a dozen different types and brands of non dairy milk to see how they stacked up nutritionally. Now, in each case I chose the plane unsweetened version or as close to that, I could get include both original and light or reduced fat varieties when possible. And so here's a rundown of the most popular milk alternatives and what I see is the nutritional pros and cons of each. All of the non dairy milk, of course, are going to be Vegan and lactose free. But then there are some real differences. Soy and PEA milk are the highest in protein. They provide somewhere between eight and eleven grams of protein per cup, which is comparable to cow's milk. Legumes such as soybeans and yellow peas are also relatively complete source of protein although not quite as complete as dairy. Soy Protein in particular has some beneficial effects on cholesterol levels and might help keep your bones strong. But as I talked about way hacking episode number twenty, one on the pros and cons of soy. There are a few reasons that you don't want to Overdo it with soy and I suggest keeping it to no more than three servings a day. So if you eat a lot of other soya based foods, then you might want to choose a different kind of milk for that reason. Hen Flax and Walnut milks are all relative newcomers to the alternative scene and all of these are an excellent source of Omega three fats. This is a nutrient that's often lacking in the western Diet. If your diet does not include a lot of fish, for example, this could be a way to fill that gap a single serving of one of these can provide an entire day's recommended intake of Omega three fat. That's about four times as much as you'd get from soy milk and six times as much as you'd get from cow's milk none of these options however are very high in protein. Now if you're counting calories, almond milk tends to be quite a bit lower in calories and sugar than most of the other non dairy milks. It's also fairly low in protein and don't expect the same benefits that you'd get from eating almonds virtually all of the fiber and the heart healthy mono unsaturated fats that make almond. So healthy have been removed although almond milk has for a long time in one of the most popular non dairy. Several other nut milks have entered the market more recently including those made from hazelnuts cashews, and as I mentioned earlier, Walnuts. If you're looking for one to make it home, I have found that cashew milk is the easiest and best tasting. Do It yourself non dairy milk option and in the show notes for today I have linked to the recipe that I created to make cashew milk. Now, I should point out that not milks nut milks including those made from almonds, walnuts and cashews use more water to create than other non dairy options, and this is because nuts are very water intensive crops nonetheless, Almond and other nut milks use less water to produce then cow's milk. But if water usage is important to you, Sawyer oat milk are the least water-intensive to produce. Now. Rice milk is the one that you're least likely to be allergic to. However, it is also pretty much the lowest in protein and it tends to be higher in sugar and calories. Although races not as water-intensive to grow as nuts, it's not far behind in terms of water use. OAT Milk is another newer entry into the non dairy field people tend to really like it's creamy texture especially in coffee it's also a more sustainable option than not or rice based milks another plus is that it does contain a small amount of fiber. Now, we're only talking one or two grams per serving but oat fiber has some unique benefits in terms of lowering blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels with just two to four grams of protein per serving oat milk is lower in protein than either cow's milk. Or Soy milk, but higher than most rice and almond milk varieties, and finally milk may also be a great option for those with nut allergies for whom not milks are obviously off the menu and this brings us to coconut milk. Now, with all the buzz around coconut oil and coconut water lately, it was probably inevitable that a coconut based milk alternative would appear on the already overcrowded shelves in that non dairy I'll. But as with all the other coconut based products, the health benefits of coconut milk are modest. Plane unsweetened coconut milk is very low in calories and carbohydrates. It's only got about half as many calories as skim milk. However, coconut milk contains no protein and it's often described as being watery kinda tasteless. Now. Here's just a quick. Although. Both are referred to as coconut milk. The coconut based beverage that you'll find next the almond milk is not to be confused with the coconut milk that you'll find the canned food or international foods I'll canned coconut milk is made from blending coconut meat and water into a rich creamy liquid that's quite high in fat and calories. This is the ingredient that you'll see called for in curry recipes, desserts, and other kinds. Asian cuisine.

Tens of thousands of people rally against Lukashenko in Belarus

"Where Can Belarus President Turn Now? Thousands of people were back on the streets protesting this weekend still angry at what they believe was a rigged presidential election President Lukashenko who claimed as he returned to power with an eighty percent approval rate responded by flying over the protesters wearing riot gear with a rifle slung from his shoulder. Well, drained over is L. Editor of Belarus Anna Leasing at the University of Brain and I'm delighted to say she joins us on the line now Auger a very warm welcome to monocle twenty four. These absolutely bizarre scenes of President Lukashenko yesterday. Well. Yes. I was actually also quite as to see you know him banning public with a gun and also his fifteen year old son campaign him so to say so it's the definitely assigned for me that he he's kind of knocked children confidence in front of the people who through testing by his residence, and it's also not you know not that Jerry. Addict from me because the protest is peaceful, protesters will not trying to receive this residents in the state needs. said the wall spread the information that there was some attempt to seek the? Residency so it's quite an emotional psychological reaction from him. I would say and will. Nobody. that. So it's also very strong sign that there is now readiness of from from the official from the state site for any kind of luck that you know this new to build coordination committee by Dehaan Oscar and she team is is trying to do initiate and I think everybody most notably people. In Belarus itself have been absolutely taken aback by the brutality of the reaction by the the Lauren forces to the protesters and the fact that Alexander Lukashenko was was dressed up in riot gear suggests that he doesn't have anywhere to go other than a violent approach. Yes I would also I would also expects it. You know what targeted repressions and they're ready started last week and they continued this week. So what what would serve now is definitely not base wave of unprecedented repression that we. Saw Three days and nights after the elections but still there are targeted repressions and against. Most active people are also criminal case has been initiated against the newly built coordination committee and people. People are invited to some talks with KGB officials until also people actually also bill will try to strike there actually threatened. By the direction openness of the state owned enterprises that they would lose their jobs and so on. So observe already targeted pressure on people, but this wave is still not to the tide because you know. So what international reaction was so the state drives, you know just show from the one handed, it's not ready for the data from the one hand there is the rest of. You know not not to let this protests spread. Within the country how much do you think that's what the foreign observers of said about what's been happening in Belarus for the last couple of weeks is actually forming any decision made by Alexander Lukashenko at the moment. Well I think that it will quite an important aim has been achieved ready and that we actually we have understood that he's not legitimate within the society right within the boat society and I think also problem was that he really did not understand that. Shortly after the elections or before the elections so and. Actually. I think that the reaction was not is at least that. He and his circles really have the distended. Okay. He doesn't have any majority in society, but it has not led so far to his readiness for dialogue just in the all the way he kind of supports the security structures in internal, Misteri Ministry and actually he even gave you know about three hundred medals to those who are actually responsible of for for this incident violence. So he kinds of stresses that the security two structures military is. Actually the most important pillar his powerful for now for the moment, the Steve Kerr show is joining us now he's policy and advocacy. Directorate. Freedom from torture and author of St Spirit Steve. Welcome. Thanks for joining us. Hey On monocle twenty, four Olga a moment ago mentioned the fact that the secret police is still called the KGB I mean, what does that say about the level of influence at Russia's still has in terms of the way that Belarus's going and whether Russia just going to sit this out. Yes I mean I either it reflects influence of Russia, which is August is certainly, very great or it's just almost bizarre retro element to to better under Lukashenko. He doesn't mind thinking in those terms I think it is going to be. So Russia will certainly be an important factor and but at the same time Mosca really doesn't want to be. Getting, further involved in in a very direct since that's going to be difficult for Russia as well. So I think that Lucas. Is playing a very difficult game. If he was giving small confessions, I think he might have some a little bit more success in some homage to blunt things but so far at least the violence has had absolutely opposite effective people become more and more angry the fear obviously quite rightly the last Sunday was absolutely crucial. I would argue that the US huge threats of on ahead of Sunday hoping that people. Would back off and stay at home and actually it was a big rally than ever. So not particular face off. There's no question that Lukashenko loss what happens next we'll still see I'll steve has suggested that Sunday was a pivotal moment some people waiting for what is described as a tipping point when an event causes things to go one way or the other would you say that Sunday was part of that? Tipping Point. Demon this Sunday last Sunday. To Sunday. The Sunday. Just gone when tens of thousands of people came out onto the streets to set by a threat the first Sunday directly after the elections. Yes. I it just completely I mean people never any. Okay. What we're talking about batteries and Ballard who's says, Chris it's not the first Sunday that actions pulses side will have to admit that it also not to the extent that people actually being tortured eating the prisons will have also. took a beast fag, but it's for the first very time that such vast majority of people. So it with their own is is of their families or friends in stone. So you can imagine how many are nets were the strategy when they're where our seven seven thousand arrests. So it's it's quite a big part of the country said it's really I would agree it had an opposite effect and it's also for the first time that you know this special. GRANITZ or gas or a also rubber bullets on there were actually used against own population. It never existed in the history of Belarus in October election protests, people widget shocked and I think it was a shock from the both sides because the state net expected to such mass protest before also before three weeks before the elections would be solved by. About two to five or even six percent of local population came to to railways with Hannele. It's also unprecedented thing was kind of shock from both sides and of course, people people were also by this eighty percent because nobody really believes that anymore I mean. People also really did not quite believe that before I, would say people heading out some kind of feeling that president steelhead had a majority maybe not eighty percent maybe fifty five, maybe sixty but this feeling was there and this style with completely different. So quiet in Jersey, you know quite a big part even I think I would say the majority of people just didn't believe that he actually has any kind of fifty plus and that was the problem that we still have this eighty percents I think people would just. People were just humiliated by that of course, activate shortly afterwards by this unprecedented wave refreshing stave when we look to the further history of batteries, which is being written right now when considering what sort the former eastern bloc countries of have seen in the last three decades. When regime ends, it's generally quite a peaceful affair actually the deleted. is of removed from office. This is unlikely to happen here. Isn't it? Well, I mean, sometimes it has been an sometimes it hasn't been. So when I was a journalist working for the independent, I was the East Europe during the eighty nine revolutions and also join me the fall of Milosevic Milosevic in Serbia and cover dot and there a number of those leaders were ready to use very significant violence and what I'm fascinated by very moved by what was seeing with the courage. A better as protesters today is to see that they are defined vence in the same ways that work very effectively for example, in East Germany where people were threatened with extraordinary for someone particular day in Leipzig in. October nineteen eighty-nine the fact that so many people came out meant regime which had publicly declared its loyalty to force actually back down in Romania I very much. Hope it weren't turn into remain, but we do already see that there are splits within Belarus at the riot police remain loyal. The moment we've seen a number of police units splits off. We've seen a lot of establishment figures putting off in the same way as also does something happened in in Ukraine and the Orange Revolution, and once you see security forces a different security forces splitting away going like enough already as August said, I mean the eighty percent. Claim was was absurdly insulin and the degree of the virus even Grayson seen before and I think this is really interesting. It might end up in huge volumes but I think Lukashenka would lose very very badly that to happen I think it's a regional issue. How if you like bluntly how crazy you are Milosevic. For example, he survived on one occasion ninety seven by giving some concessions and then re clamping down and people just got tired and went back when you use real violence I think it's really difficult. It was a great book written by Richard couple the Polish off I was written about the Iranian revolution. Charlotte. Charlotte's but very much reflected his own country Poland which forty years ago. This month solidarity kind of a huge opposition movement didn't call itself opposition challenge the regime and unthinkable circumstances laying Brezhnev for the very reactionary Russian leader was still in power. They managed to become successful and he said the moment where people stand in front of eastern threatens violence, the pre curry signing backstops, and instead someone stands there and doesn't back down he said, this is where the revolution begins, and after that in effect is the exact the precipice. If you're to violence, you make people more angry if you start making concessions than people go. We have lost our fear and in a sense the certain moment difficult to prediction events but describable. There is no way back to the regime and it still seems a little bit early to say but I think it's very, very difficult to see how Lukashenko come back from this. If he steps back more gently than, of course, it will be peaceful. The protests have been fun tastic peaceful and very, very consciously so far the extended even cleaning up rubbish because I really vary consciously very civic. Minded. So he might just go off and disappear off to Russia for example, and as it will live happily ever after but he tries to bring out all of the guns. Then I think you know all bets are off but I don't think it was a good ending for him whichever way it goes Steve Crozier and Elga agenda over there. Thank you for joining us on monocle twenty four.

"Welcome back to another edition of the Fitness Lab Pittsburgh Aka fit lab PGE podcast. We are a podcast that has ethos moving a lifestyle not just an activity. We want to give a big shoutout to Richard Butler for. US to today's guest and a big shout out to today's guests for being one of the first fit loud pg guests who has agreed to appear via zoom rather than US travelling to her or her traveling to us. Thanks covid for decreasing our ability to cross bridges and go through tunnels to meet people. We can still take advantage of technology learn about neat movement events in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area today we are with justice. Jessica Curry. She is the director of special events for the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, and we're going to find out about how she got involved with the Special Olympics. What exactly the Special Olympics is. If you don't know and I know I, WanNa know how the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania ended up headquartered. In Pittsburgh I was surprised to learn that what I was doing my research and I think she's got a special events coming up. This got an acronym as far as that you could participate in virtually with other special Olympic athletes. So Jessica, thanks for taking time to talk to loud PG H. Thank you so much for having me. I really appreciate it. Bye Favorite question I always want to ask people that I interviewed for PGA H. in that I always do is are you a Pittsburgh native if you're a Pittsburgh native? Why are you still here if you're not a Pittsburgh native, what brought you to? Pittsburgh. I am I have a Pittsburgh native born raised. And Baptized on Super Bowl Sunday. So you know Pittsburgh girl and. Nineteen seventies I'm giving away my age now but yeah, Pittsburgh girl born and raised scold out of state and coming back about it's probably been about fifteen years now that I've been back in the city of Pittsburgh but I did the unthinkable. I was in North Hills kid and actually crossed a tunnel and went through earth room whether tunnel cross the bridge I believe just moved South Hills when we came back, which apparently is something you don't do here. I know he's interviewed a couple of people who've done that and one of them said that her mother still refuses to come see her in the South Hills from the North Hills and say one way trade or a one way car ride that way because mom apparently does not go south and great. It's fifteen minutes. It's such an easy drive. Really. and. I'm always curious when we interview people for this. What draw drew you into being involved with what you do your with these Special Olympics what was your background to get you in this where you somebody who you are in high school made you you took an adapted class or volunteer said boy this is a really neat thing I want to be involved with this or is that something that maybe happened afterwards or a little bit later on in life? He also interestingly I did not study any kind of adaptive movement or anything like that through high school or college my degree's actually. Public speaking and writing. And I worked for the development team. So I, do a lot of both development. We obviously do fundraising for Special Olympics had been working in nonprofit for a long time if worked for a substance abuse clinic in the animal shelter. And then most recently Special Olympics I've been here for five years now and. When I work for a nonprofit, having a mission having 'cause is something that's really important to me. If I'M GONNA give all he knows so much time and attention. It's GonNa have to be to something that I really truly believe in the Organization is 'cause is absolutely something that I do believe in I grew up with a cousin who is an athlete and were only six months apart. So this organization has actually been part of my family and my life since we were children. Our Age starts about seven where we start training younger children on appropriate eating habits. It's a young athletes program than getting them ready, and then they can start participating as they get older. So she had started at a very young age and is still active where. We're going to be forty five. So, she's been doing this for a really long time. So this is literally been in my life forever. Here's. Ano- know I WANNA learn more about that because I seem to recall at some point reading somewhere in a blog or something like that that there are some special Olympic athletes who are sixty plus years old who have probably been competing even longer than your cousin is yeah. Yeah we do. We have athletes ranging in age from seven to into their eighties. We are fit lab Pittsburgh were podcast that promotes movement. We always like to find out the activities that people. Do themselves that we interview even if they're working for specific companies or specific specific on prophets, I, know we interviewed a lady in the past he said, well, I'm not really an athlete I dance three or four times a month and I swim I walk US I don't know you are an athlete I. Tell people when I teach health classes at universities like your goal is to be able to do whatever you WanNa do when you WanNa do literally until the day you die not have that fear. So I'm curious. When you were growing up, were you in active can't or are you somebody who wasn't active and maybe became active a little later on in life? Yeah. Always been inactive kid I always participated in sports all different Tennis softball. docker. you name it. I was never afraid to try it. Physical activity was something for me is just a very natural part of my life and something that comes easily to be danced in gymnastics for very long time since I was little and. That type of physical movement is something that just has always been very natural and very comfortable for me, and if kept doing things as I've gotten older definitely changed the things I can't do they used to. Buy I'm still still active still out Aaron Indefinitely. Still. Moving.

Clippers are struggling one-on-one against Mavericks

"Four more games in the NBA on Wednesday and for me the story was a tale of two conferences in the Eastern Conference. We have two teams in Toronto and Boston, who take a stranglehold on their series of both going up to o scale and in those look like they may be short series out east of story of the night. Marijuana start. The show scale is in the Western Conference on because Utah beat Denver early in the day, and then the late game at night Dallas, beat the La Clippers, and now scowl both of those series are tied at one one Ryan. How me out here the clippers touted as the best defensive team in the fourth quarter and Dallas we know they've had their struggles on the offensive end in the fourth quarter. Can you explain to me why the clippers went zone defense in that fourth in and what is their deal right now they just gonNA play small the rest of the way and If they are what you think about that small line A-. If because watched started the game for the clippers. Their typical starting center only played eighteen minutes. He didn't really have an impact as you mentioned, they did go small lot scowl they played some zone and whatever they're doing defensively isn't working and I think I really miss read this series scowl I thought the a wing talent and depth especially on the defensive end of the court between Kawhi Leonard and Paul George would be enough to slow down Luca DANNI SCALP. maybe nobody can look announced the way he's played Scalia another huge game for the Dallas Mavericks in their one, twenty, seven, fourteen when look ahead twenty eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists and the clippers defense had no answer for Luca and the rest of the Mavericks No, they had no answer for Lucan they had no answer for let's let's keep it real here. They had no answer for Trey Burke Seth Curry Dhillon right I think Tim Hardaway. Jr out there. So they had no answer at all in the fourth quarter, which is a little disturbing upon the clipper fan because you should be hanging in there hanging with the clipper a hanging with the Mavericks. Next to you know you get to that fourth quarter you're supposed to put the clamps on these guys. So if I have quite Leonard in Paul George My team are those are are the clippers worried that he they can't stop Luca is that's what's Going on here, then Luke must be the best player in the NBA right now because those guys are supposed to be the best wing defenders, we've said it all year on this show that those guys are are built to stop Lebron James. Well if I say they're built to stop the brine, but they're not built to stop. Luca a question are they built a stop Lebron or his Luca surpassed the Bronx in the best player in the Western Conference right now? All certainly playing like it. He said NBA playoff record scale through two games in the first two games of Lucas playoff career after game two scales, seventy points combined, and that is the most in NBA history at forty two points in a game one loss for the Mavericks and then Twenty eight points on Wednesday night in a game to win

Yeah Listen Scott we're happy you're doing that I will continue the 'cause only for that reason and not for the DMZ every time I do it. There's GonNa. Serious damage. Control. Going on with that actually speaking of Damage Control Ellen is still doing some over her toxic workplace drama. So what does she go out and do she has lunch with Kevin? Hart you guys pictures are actually getting a lot of attention. Do you think he was giving her advice? You'll initially thought that would just hanging out to give each other fashion advice. By Kevin. Hart especially in this heat at the moment but I think they're probably working on another show together. In the future L. and they're probably brainstorming ideas for me. Personally I thought well, the apprentice has been done but maybe the intern. That's what we need right now from. That's what happens. If you lose, you lose the competition, you have to be Ellen's intern for a year. We'll see I, think they're just friends and I think they're meeting. But the only problem is I feel like people who are this famous are really out of touch and I feel like everybody rallying around ellen she's treated fine because they're on the same playing field, the the people who are saying that they were mishandled and mistreated where people who are working for her. I. Want someone who makes less than two million dollars a year to come out and say is a nice person because right now saying not a lot of people under to milk come into her defense. Yeah. A thousand percent even one meal. Onto a Miley Cyrus are the recent interview that she did on the call. Do you have like a? Are you hyper crazy dealing a calm person I usually end up complaining that they're boring what I need I or Definitely. Need like a calming I need an anchor. I need a wait. Someone has to bring more to the table than their plate. They can't just be like, fill me up all the. Curry you guys think that she would actually with like a very even kill boring partner is that realistic I think the Personal Daito next. That's really unfortunate for them because they know the person. Well, I'll as someone who has a new rule where he turns his phone off from nine pm to nine. AM here we go. I'd like to myself I like to think that I have a good calming anchor me Nina telling me. That's not true. I don't even understand how you can turn your phone off for that long like we were we have jobs like Howard. Was the. Heck small time they your phone off when you the best content after nine. PM I. Hope my question about this whole thing is like I'm very concerned that we're already talking about who miley supposed to be dating next. She's discussing this on the podcast because my concern for Miley is the she moves on really fast. Is it okay? I just feel like maybe she should focus on healing from the Last relationship she's been in to relationships since her split from Liam and that was barely a year ago.

"So tim. After Seth Curry misses a full year with a leg injury he recovers ends up in Portland for a season. And that's where he really comes onto more people's radar. Get the ball again curry. He serves as a spark plug off the bench like a microwave cooker. Who can come in and hit a bunch of threes and maybe scored nine points for a quarter at out of nowhere. Well and the blazers actually make it to the Western Conference finals that year. And they meet Steph Curry and the warriors the the media did have a lot of fun with that one. Your brother yet. And what do you think that goes eighteen? I talked to him last night and talked to him. We text me right after the game. Southsea Tuesday and we got to see their parents. Dell and Sonya out wearing the Split Jerseys half-and-half Warriors and Blazers Shelly. Bainbridge Steph Curry's Godmother and a family friend thirty five years had an idea creating split jerseys so Sonya and Dell curry could cheer for both boys how did he play against his brother in the western conference finals Portland got swept because the warriors were the warriors you know just a just a complete juggernaut. Southgate's one good game in. He scored sixteen points in game to game the only lose by three points..

"curry" Discussed on The Stephen A. Smith Show

"Now the straight talk came last night in the form of Steph curry coming back to the warriors. No they didn't win the game. The warriors still lost and we all know that the warriors have won fourteen games this year. A far cry from where they've been but even in a loss to a very good Toronto team Steph Game Out gave us twenty three seven and seven and the Shimmy. We all missed right so when you see the Shimmy you get sort of this level of confidence as air. The warriors felt different last night. The question is would this just being the tip of the iceberg? Remember they're going to get Klay Thompson back next year. They're going to get a high level draft pick. All that comes together can steph actually bring the warriors back to their former dynasty. Now I want to get your thoughts on that triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight. Seven two nine three seven. Seven six can steph get the warriors back to their former dynasty level dominic foxworth and Max Kellerman were joined by. Espn get up host. Mike Greenberg today and they debated what's next for the warriors. Yes he can and by the way when you say former dynasty. Let's remember in the beginning. What that really was right. It was against the cavs team. And then they lost to the cast and then they got K. D. Right. So will they be as good as they were with? K. D. OF COURSE. Not unless they replaced with some kind of approximation. And since you probably won't get a guy's GonNa pay the dynasty mean is a dynasty mean. You must win the championship every year. Because I don't see it that way. I see the same core group of guys making championship runs every year. And you gotta mix some championships into the spurs headed is the they didn't win it every year. But this warriors dynasty really when you when you boil it down to it's essential element is starts with Steph Curry. The next essential element is dream on Green. Pick and roll partner. Who's the do everything guy? Then there's Klay Thompson the shooter and then really when they were either had Andrea Guatemala or the Superman version of that. Which is Kevin? Durant the two-way wing operating at whatever level? You WanNa talk about who can do multiple things. They have steph. They have draymond. They're getting some version of clay back. They have draft picks. They have wiggins they will put the horse. They will put the band back together so whether or not they win back to back. Titles they will win another champion. They have another challenge in this group. C I can't argue with that because you've bar for what a dynasty is. They absolutely not get back to anyone else's any normal person's definition of a dynasty absolutely they will not get back to that and I do see that the landscape in coming in the coming years is a bit open because we don't know how long it's going to be there. We don't know how long Lebron's going to be in La. So I think that the West maybe opening near future and I don't think it's not a question that steph curry given the right talent around them could possibly get them to be competitive. Get Him back to a championship but dynasty absolutely not you have to dominate the sport to be a dynasty. I agreed with every word you said except for the first one because the first word you said was yes whereas I believe the first word you should have said was no because everything he then said argues against the notion of it they cannot get back to what they were unless they get Kevin Durant back Steph. Curry is great. He changed the sport in a way that few players in history have and he is as much fun to watch as practically any player of all time but that team became dynasty because they got Kevin Durant they became one of the greatest teams of all time because of Kevin Durant. And unless they get him back. They don't get back to any approximately ask you a question. This since they were two championship appearances win a championship. Followed by seventy three win team. That barely lost by a possession at home in game seven on the Brawn James. His greatest night. Basically that was the original thing. Then the advocate Bob Myers GM entire organization. Look what they've been able to pull off now. Look at what they have in the treasure trove right like look at the look at the potential energy. They have in draft picks and whatever value wiggins can have if he's not the keeper. And you mean to tell me. They can't identify a third wheel or second wheel to go with Steph. Who's even better than clay or dream on with a high I and unprotected first round pick I in seconds coming up and wiggins that's positive ideas there what the next step is dynasty. That's I think I think green and I agree with you that they could be competitive. They could get in another championship. They might even win another championship dynasty implies that they are dominating the sport. That's what I think of dinosaurs. You think of this burs. Yes the Spurs were a dominant force. They were in contention every one multiple championship the same for heat another guy. No they can't be as I never went back to back not one time. Oh absolutely understand. That got bounced bars are the low end of the Dynasty. And they were great for a long time but you talk about dynasties more about concentrated time where they dominate the sport. They cannot do what they did in the bar for. Dynasties with the warriors put together in recent history. No because I don't care what approximation of draft picks or players out there. You Ain't getting Kevin Durant see. I think that basketball has a very different threshold for being a dynasty than the other sports in football I would agree with you making multiple runs and winning one every now and again mixed in there makes you a dynasty. But if you look at what the Lakers have done. Historically the Shatt Koby Lakers magic Karim Lakers and others. If you look at what Jordan did in Chicago you don't just win every now and again and get their. The Spurs became a dynasty because they stayed that good that long with that coach and that one star player. But that's not a Michael Jordan spoiled. Everybody no one else. Does that three in a row. And then when he comes back three in a row checking three in a row that was only other pair and that's the pairing of the two highest kind of talent guys where it's evenly distributed of all time to get Katie. You're saying that they can't get K. D. but Janas will be a free agent eventually probably there are other superstars in the NBA. Well within the question. Is Kim Courage? Take you then. It's not current carrying you. The question Ken Kern cared the warriors to a dancing. If you're bringing Janas cars carrying I take your take on. Espn Radio Jason. Fitz part of the problem. Here's how defined dynasty. You just kept hearing them talk about. What the offer dynasty is in fact one quote you have to dominate a sport to be a dynasty well. What constitutes domination winning championships? See in the moment we can have a conversation about how great Golden State was. And can anybody ever get back to that? Maybe not I mean. Maybe we'll never see that level of continual winning at a regular season clip year in and year out. But they don't need to come back and win championships. You're talking about clay you're talking about. They already have draymond. And now you're talking about Steph. You're talking about a trio of players that absolutely can go out not even talking about what wiggins could mean any drastic. You're talking about a trio of players that can win championships. And in the moment we may not want to give that credit but if they really off a couple of championships will history not look at that as a continuation of a dynasty. It would be one year off due to injury with a continuation a dynasty. So absolutely. Can they ever win to the level that they won no but does winning alone without a championship created dynasty? No Championships create dynasties. It's I take your take on. Espn radio I'll take your take on it. You can tweet me at Jason Fitz Bunch. You guys already tweeting us. Say No next year a lot of comments about next year. Well that's what we're talking about. Obviously we don't think it's going to go on a run and take him to a championship this year. "Welcome to Warriors Awkward The San Francisco Chronicle's NBA podcast. I'm your host where he's beat Radyr Connor Attorney and on today's episode. I'm joined by Longtime Chronicle Sports Writer. Rusty Simmons who has been helping me out on the words begin this during our conversation rusty and I went in-depth on Steph Curry's return from a broken hand and what is presence could mean for golden state the rest of the season so here we are. Esti on lower bull of chase center watching chasing her floor be deconstructed before our very eyes after the warriors fell one. Twenty one hundred thirteen and Steph Curry's first game in one hundred fifty six days now before we jump into that I do WanNa thank my friend Neil Kirkpatrick who created that awesome. Beat you just listened to the podcast. It wasn't huge fan of the beat. We had before asked Neil who I've been friends with since fifth grade and my best friend in life to create a new being. I think it's pretty awesome. Neal is a composer and musician. Based out of Brooklyn New York Vinyl his work at Neil Michael Kirkpatrick DOT com. That's Kirkpatrick with a K. But now that now that we're done with that let's jump. Let's jump into the box score steph. Curry had twenty three points on six for sixteen shooting. Three for twelve from three seven assists seven rebounds in twenty seven minutes. Now that's not steph. Ask but that's pretty decent for a guy coming off a four plus month laugh. I mean it's remarkable to think about that and I spent the post game on the Toronto side and Nick nurse was just marveling. What steph curry was able to do after a fifty eight game layoff cow? Lowry was the same way. I think even people who have won championships in our superstars in the league marvel at a guy doing that kind of stuff after that height is it speaks to Steph. Weddings always risen to the moment. But I think it also speaks to what he does to Rehab. I think he works as hard as anybody when he's rehabbing and so a game is almost easier to them than probably what he's been going through. Yeah and the thing that I was looking for tonight was not so much. The box score. 'cause you know he can make her miss shots? That doesn't really matter in a situation like this. What matters to me. Is he going to have those transcendent moments? Those steph like displays of just agility and athleticism and brilliant and he had a bunch of you know the behind. The back passes with his left hand. Mind you and the deep three pointer the dazzling dribbling displays. This game was laced with those and I know. He didn't play as many minutes as he normally does. Because he was on a minute restriction. He voiced frustration with that post game but the crowd tonight was completely doubt in with every movement he made on that floor because he is just that special of talent win the balls in his hands he can do something special any given moment and you just heard that you heard the Oz and it was kind of Nice to be reminded of that because we've just watched so much bad basketball this season it it always. I still haven't figured out the perfect description for this but one of the things that has always struck me when steph curry plays is. There's a different sound. It's it's almost like the whole place. Goes quiet as they're just waiting for the moment. And then there's this eruption in any always provide some of those moments the thirty two footer. When he beat the shot clock was remarkable. I think you're right. That the behind the back pass to Andrew wiggins early in the game with his left hand that was purpose but as much as I enjoy those moments and as much as there was more buzz in this building than they're probably ever has for basketball game. The things that I wanted to see was would steph curry Dr Lane and take the hits that he used to He fell on both hands really early in the game. And I wanted to see how you react to that. He didn't seem scared at all. And that's usually one of the hardest. Things is to get over that mental hurdle of came. My body hold up can take the beating that used to am. I going to have to go through another four months of Rehab and I didn't feel one moment tonight. Word that that he was thinking about his hand at all and you can see his joy and his style play just kind of translate to the rest of the team. Just keep in mind not a single player on that court tonight. Other than Steph played in the playoffs last season. The only player other than Steph. Who was on last? Season's team was Damian Lee and he was to contract player who was not allowed to play a laugh so kind of a completely new experience for staff even since he last played in late October. They've turned over half the roster. So you know he was saying that pre game you know he has kind of his pre game ritual with with draymond and all these guys and no one was around to do them with him and he felt really weird but the flip side of that is can you imagine being someone like Andrew Wiggins who's coming out of a rough situation for five and a half years in Minnesota and now he gets the opportunity to play with staff and he's heard about stuff he's played against stuff and now if you're a few weeks of the plane pretty darned he finally gets to play with staff and I thought it was kind of a cool introduction for him you know early in this game when steps running down and without hesitation he season he he laces that behind the back pass with his left hand to Andrew Wiggins he's under the basket and lays it in I'm guessing the Andrew Wiggins didn't get to play with a low point guards in Minnesota. I don't think Chris Don was at that level. I don't think Ricky Rubio was at that level. Whoever their point guard is you know before whoever their guard was before Russell is not at that level so that has to be kind of a cool. Welcome to state moment friends. They've asked wiggins to run hardened transition to cut hard and of course set And now he's going to be rewarded for doing that because curry is gonNA find him. Some of the funnier things that I watched. Especially in the second. Half late in the game I thought that this often happens. When there's a generational talent out there with all these young guys. The young guys have a tendency to stand around and watch. The warriors didn't do that. They were trying to get him the ball. But what is so natural for Draymond and bogeyed? All these guys in the past is they knew were curry was going to be. And they knew that he was not going to stop running. And they knew that he was going to relocate and they would have full possessions tonight where the words were looking really was just over that what. Yeah where is he now? Toronto had a better gays for worker. He was going to be than the warriors days. Then that just speaks to what you're talking about half these guys had never played with Jerry Wolf where some of them play with him. Three or four games you know. They don't know where he's going to be yet but when they yeah that out he's GonNa get better looks and it's going to be even more fun and the good thing for them. Is that staff and a lot of ways is the easiest superstar play with because he is so selfless just by being on the floor. He creates so much space for his teammates. And he's really good at making sure. His teammates capitalize on that. The warriors had thirty four assists on forty field goals. Pretty darn good and you saw the energy from the outrebounded a pretty good Toronto team fifty to thirty nine it just what it. What it came down to is down the stretch of the game. They just didn't have enough guys to make shots you know. There was a critical sequence. Lay where Damian Lee miss t three pointers and missed two free missed the free throws and that's a guy who yes. He's twenty seven years old but he's still kind of learning how to be a bona fide for tation player in the NBA. So there's going to be those learning experiences but I think overall the warriors have to be happy with their performance tonight and and happy with how Steph came out. He came out healthy still bills. Good Steve said that they're going up the minutes in the next game So you know he was in that twenty seven minute ranch tonight will probably be maybe low.

"What did you think of the magazine article in the interview? He just gave where he gives them quotes about the warriors he said over time felt like quote. Nobody could get a full acceptance of me there. What do you feel when you read that? I mean that's tough. There's so many narratives they go on especially when you're at the top of the League and so no matter how you know the full of transition happens to Brooklyn separate himself from the warriors that's going to happen but in a day I think he knows you know what we were about as teammates what we were about ah friends on and off the court wish we play as an unbelievable talent will be personally accomplish a lot together but you know things things have changed a little bit well that was Steph curry with Rachel Nichols responding to Kevin Durant quotes to the Wall Street Journal all that he never felt quite accepted by the warriors and Kevin Durant able to win two championships with the warriors to finals MVP's VP's as well Stephen what's your reaction to steffes comments on Katie and what he felt in that article we're number one. I am not surprised when it comes to Steph Curry class personified and you know to know Steph curry you get he gets along with almost anybody He's a really classy dude. He's he's non-confrontational. He's a professional and he's he's a spirited dude definitely supports. His teammate is not an accident that when k. d. toys a re torn Achilles and had to be escorted off the court in game five of the finals against Toronto when he tried to come back it was steph curry was walking him into that locker room and and felt so bad Klay Thompson is as real as it gets and he's another guy. That's really authentic. I think the thing they wouldn't tell you however that and I have not spoken in fairness to Kevin Durant. I have not spoken about this. We just did the board room his show together and that's coming out soon with Jay Williams moderating maxine do not wanna miss that where he interviewed me right well. Jay Williams was the moderator and K. D. and I were going at one on one talking about various issues so that's going to be on the boardroom coming up. You don't WanNa miss that that but I didn't ask him about this or they 'cause. They were asking me questions more so than anything else but what I would tell you knowing k d the Way that I do and knowing some of those players on roster and some of those people in that front office. Here's the thing that everybody needs to understand about Katie. K. D. got along with people but K. D. in terms of that family emily knit that close atmosphere he felt separate and apart from that which he alluded to in the article he came to a team that was ready made that got drafted guy draft about Franken's Klay got drafted by the franchise. I've got graph about Franchising Audrey with dollar had been there for years etc etc so even though he was cool with a Lotta guys that family kind of atmosphere he was sorta like the outside God looking even though he was a superstar it would never be his franchises tossed long steph curry as long as Steph curry was even though he was universally recognized as the better player Dan we get into the situation with draymond green did him and draymond green have a bad relationship not from what I was told they have bad moments we saw that and as somebody that knows draymond green very well draymond green. Let me be very very clear to you. He's an acquired taste. I loved abruptly but a lot of people might not because draymond green is as honest and as real as they come bite. It is talk at sometimes you might have to Katie who who may not want to hear that then Nicky Masks K. D's nobody talks about this. K D's relationship inches ship was Steve Kerr was not good and I'm not saying that Steve Kerr did anything. I'm not saying that there was some fallout anything that happened for what I was told K. Hey Dee was not feeling Steve Kerr at all at all to the point with that's why you saw Bob highs around him. That's why you see his guy climbing. I'm in around them. That's why you saw other players for some reason the relationship that Steve Kerr one of the nicest guys you could ever meet obviously champion for satified Noses Basketball Qualified Paul famous plaza accomplish. You would think that a great coach like Steve Kerr has proven to be would have cultivated a better relationship with Kevin Durant. He didn't pull that off and that had something to do with Kevin Durant and the relationship with the team him as a whole as well interesting about curb because he saw K. D. in that article in the Wall Street Journal which read like a piece in G Q. I keep thinking about like I know exactly how much much his nike shorts and shirt costs. I wonder because I read that on a print out. was there a link where you can buy it. It felt I could you buy it though those pieces why wouldn't but but in that article talked about the issue with the warriors system and how it can kind of break down in the playoffs. You'RE GONNA have to do certain things anyway. It's interesting that you say that you are now reporting Steven A. that he wasn't feeling Steve Kerr like to that level because now some of that other stuff makes a little more sense that he was talking about. I said that go right on this show by the way that most steph curry like it's interesting to me these kind of things when you don't even realize until you really sit down and think about it why something happens so on some level k. d. must realize this but I don't know Stephen Conscious and I don't and I think we all understand this but I don't know if we really articulated this way. Think about this for a second. Why when you boil it down to K D WanNa play for the warriors why why because of Steph curry when you really boil it down People WanNa play for that team because it's a powerhouse team? It's a chugging team. They don't play like the rockets. One Guy is not monopolizing the ball even though he shoots it a lot but steph curry is a culture center not only in terms of the attitude but the way he plays the game the ball he's the point guard but the ball doesn't stick with it. He always makes the right basketball player but with him the right play maybe shooting insult ten feet behind the line because he can hit that shot he will willing we pass to teammates and yet his teammates or like when this dude is hot and I don't know take that shot. He sets the right like he he works in the system. He is the right kind of L- draymond green vocal leader and everything but really when you boil if there's one like indivisible like one element when you boil it down. What are the warriors if you had to say one thing it Steph curry and he's actually the reason whether Katie Katie knows it or not the Katie wound up and Golden State that he wanted to play there in the first place man when Katie now is saying? I was never really a part of it that maybe true like who are we to say how it feels you go to the new school in those kids have already been there for several years the new you may have friends but you may feel like they already have have that group. He may have felt that way but from Steph Curry's point of view by the way Stephen He's giving you more evidence why people want to play. They're didn't take one shot. I talked about how great K. D. is. He's the reason I've tried to come at you because I have something to tell you a really interested in hearing your answer to this your response to this Max you say Steph Curry. I actually think Steve Kerr deserves a lot of credit because before Oh Kevin durant arrived even though they had a system in place it was primarily predicated on Steph in clay and it was something that was you know convict installed per se by a Steve Kerr now more Jackson established a foundation but Steve Gert was able to take it to another level. Kevin Durant personally told me the biggest reason he wanted to go to golden state is because he wanted to improve his game and continued to develop his game and he loved their system the and the way he thought he could thriving it. Here's the question for you Max. I'm kind of thinking I'm shocked to be saying this. If Mark Jackson had been there with Kevin Durant have wanted to leave because the more I think about the Steve Kerr element of Kevin Durant the more I think Mark Jackson would have done a better job to facilitate that relationship we K. D. and as a result he might have wanted to stay golden state. What do you say to that? I don't know because I don't know how much success if they would have the same under Mark Jackson on the offense he was running. I'll say this I always thought the warriors were most about Steph one and dray to he was the pick and roll partner. He was the five that allowed them to play five out. When you were shooting the ball well he was the guy doing all the dirty work like and and maybe because of that Steph dray dynamic really that's his crime partner in the shooter of course you know the splash brothers k. a d really was the odd man out in terms of the dynamics of the team yeah the question about Mark Jackson's unknowable? I suspect they would not have had quite the same level of success success under the old offense. Mark Jackson was running and Max just to wrap it up. I used to be the warriors sideline reporter. I was there for three seasons. I I agree with that. You know I feel like it was not only the combination of basketball skills semi the warriors work but also a great combination of personalities the Mesh really well and complimented each other really well and I hope for Katie that he can reflect on his time. They're really positively because without steph curry Stephan Kerry deferred to take Kevin Durant in and allow him to feel comfortable much like you say d. Wade Lebron Steph curry did that for Katie. You'll never hear Steph say anything negative but that man welcomed him welcomed him and bent to make him feel welcome. And what more do you want championships finals. Mvp Legacy Lore he got a lot out of that it works took himself self out of the MVP conversation selfless when by the way he was performing on an MVP level in order to do the right thing by the team and that's why really people wanNA play there he insurance with him. Hey there I'm Ali Kerim and you're listening to the first. Take podcast. Let me ask you. This is anything better than watching football..

"Cyst, and it seems to me that, that work, low was far too much of a burden for him to carry because he has not even been close to resembling the Steph curry that we know he can be as you mentioned skip. There are a lot of times. Steph normally catches the ball. Illicit go. We saw hitch after hit after hitching shot come up short time, time and time again. So I don't really know what's going on with them or say, you know, we can make excuses for and says, okay? He's tired. But L everybody's tired. It's not like Steph curry is the only one that's been playing and everybody else. He he's had often and he just started playing. You know you've been playing one hundred and fifty games and everybody's just played seventy five. Everybody's played just as many games Steph curry to this point. But this was his opportunity to show. You know what guys I can't do this. I can carry the load yet. We don't have Kevin Durant. We'd love to have him back, but he's not let me show you what a two-time in BT, let me show, you why one of those unanimously and clay in game four and skip we like if Steph give us anything close to the game, pre perform with Chris and he gives clay come alone will hell Klay came along. If Steph got out of the car. Left Klay in the car by. Think I agree with you skip. Thank you. I think game one Steph was very good thirty four points. Game two. Yes. Okay. Twenty three miles of not not very good game three. I thought he was tremendous game for disappointing yet, as you said the bar is. So when your average in thirty three points, five assists, five rebounds, and you're disappointing thirty three points is thirty three points. I mean that that is great. And you mentioned no Kevin Durant. Klay missed the game Kvant looney as miss three DeMarcus cousins is a shell of himself Igwe. Dial is banged up averaging seven points a game as shooting twenty one percent from three Draymond green is not been himself shooting eight percent.

"For curry curry. I'm Bagley back some of the dribble takes up very over the top. Seventeen eleven Curry's got thirty four. He's got ten breeze tonight. He ended up with thirty six ten of sixteen from downtown which anybody else, and you're like my goodness. He had ten threes ads. Just another game for Steph curry you heard that ninety five seven the game seven assists in the game as well. Golden state. It's a two point win one twenty five one twenty three over Sacramento. The lead was a little bigger in the fourth king's made a late run Golden State held them off. But there was a concern here. And there is a growing concern with the warriors is it comes time for the postseason the bench. They got fourteen points out of the bench starters one hundred eleven points. The bench gave him just fourteen Igwe dollar with nine leading the way everybody else on that bitch five total points. And so like, I realized curry Katie who had twenty eight points seven blocks five of those on Marvin Bagley in the first half alone. You're fine. You've got incredible. The starting five there's there's obviously none better. Philly included in my opinion. But over the course of a postseason to have this little production from the bench. I think should be a bit alarming again fourteen point from the warrior bench, and it was a topic of conversation with head coach Steve Kerr after the game your Dench players looting. The problem at the finals, not the play to find those because. Finals. Finals. Talk.

But with this mug, I will be hydrated enough to do. So just one time don't get them Abeche view. Here is a good note, especially from the guy reference first name Steph curry, he was amazing transcendent all these things last night. But Mani dropped fifty one points with eleven three pointers hitting some truly ridiculous shots. What was your reaction to the performance or about seat, dude? Steph Curry's true shooting percentage through five games is over seven twenty. Okay. Absurd. What he is doing right now. He's avs. I want to say thirty five points a game. And welding we'd seen in the last couple of years was the warriors trying to do a lot to make sure they Kevin Durant Philp comfortable that mid Steph curry taking a step back to the detriment of the team. They are better with Steph out in front they stepping back for dude that's probably going to leave at the end of the year. "This is how much fun this team even though dram was very good in a very efficient way this reminded us how much fun this team was to watch before he showed okay but ny is an obscene amount of threes for the history of the nba they have to say tim i think if you've looked ninety to ninety two bulls didn't have nine threes the entire postseason so yes in the last five years the nba things have changed me about you this was the words reclaiming their identity and it was because of steph like nfl vacuum kevin durant might be a better basketball player but steph curry is more important to the identity of this team and you see the waking makes it so much easier for everyone else like to bail mckee going six for six that's in part because of curry opening up the space for him kevin durant having incredibly efficient game actually racking up his sis getting easier looks being involved with actions that aren't excruciating that's because of steph curry kevin and drank and have a great game in the worst can still lose i don't think you can say the same for steph curry at this point oh interesting could we scratched the surface a little bit more on what blackstone was saying the hangover idea have you seen this video i mean it's coming from the three minute clip of the cavs bench from game one in between the jr and overtime starting it came out in the last twenty four hours it just mesmerizing especially the part where lebron here's they have a time out left you guys have seen his first person before from the scores table covering games i imagined but this one right here i it'd be it's exactly what you expect it would be and also it's worse mean it calms your view of it when you watch the whole thing it's just suffused with dread it's like lawrence trinity.

"Right so with katie and harden like you so you're saying the james hart is the best one on one player in the league you can argue that you know a katie is the best pure score in the league yeah to me in this matchup like they kind of cancel each other out i think at any matchup it's if the warriors steph curry is what makes this team on beatable steph curry in a flight five minute span can make you question like do i play basketball while he just can steal your heart and soul and that's what and that's what we saw pre katie and what made this team you know in conversations the best team ever 'cause you're just no answer for that when he's ready when he is shooting out of his mind and they go on these like runs it is just so crushing an and there's no response for it right so here's what was interesting last night and i love the draymond green quote where he says when steph makes three it the crowd reacts to it like the crowd reacts when other people do a dunk yes when they make a great dog and an amazing like steph threes have that effect oracle but not third quarter like he only made three threes he didn't make and he scored most of his points on layups because he was driving by guys and i think that's what was really passive to me about what steph did last night because usually the curry flurries we talked about those right just get it to go in and well you look up and.

"Steph the best shooter remain ba in fact ominous as the best shooter in nba history to only fifteen shops he was tied with a bad shooter regime rondo for sixth most shots of the night russell westbrook statistically the worst three point shooter the league has took nineteen threes and forty three shots in his final game when you watch steph curry he is the conductor of symphony he has multiple gears he elevates others he is joyful it's fun playful he is a giving teammate plus twenty six westbrook is a one man band angry scowling tunnel vision elevates nobody but i think the saddest part is that westbrook's the guy that's going to bang his head on his wall for the next five to six years while he plays that westbrook probably watched steph curry and just doesn't get how great he is westbrook's gonna take more shots and bang his head against the wall and put his head down and work out harder and jump higher and always be russell westbrook kevin durant has played with both where does he look happier fans media teammates steph curry is a grownup he is thoughtful he not only elevates but he delegates and westbrook's habits are awful and getting worse last night was an absolute joy an absolute joy to watch steph curry a superstar be informed that he wouldn't start totally okay with it played efficient basketball only the six moshe shot as the best shooter in league history and was totally okay with it in fact he didn't even press and try to get kevin durant more involved he just played his symphonic best.

"What rakes my nerves where people they're act like all of a sudden if if steph curry is gone all where you're gonna give shooting from uh kevin durant and klay thompson that'll help and i think of what needs to be recognised steven aging remember the oddcouple the sitcom of course jack klugman it totally randall felix enough you do you remember when felix was really disappointed in oscar and he would just say oscar oscar oscar that's that rainy riot now in this couple pairing stephen a one of my all time favorite comedy by the way when one in it stephen it it's not about the shooting we know klay thompson can shoot it just about as wet can get hotter the media anyone who ever lived really seen some of the point tools if put up at a quarter including thirty seven and a quarter twenty six and a quarter it's ridiculous but what makes the really the golden state warriors go what makes their offense go it's they have a dribble penetrator in steph curry who has infinite range that's the geometry of the whole thing for the warriors even then stephen a they tend to take harder shots than the rockets do the rockets get higher percentage chances than the warriors which is why they have comparable records in spite of the fact that the warriors shoot it better because they have steph curry and klay thompson and draymond green the rockets have been i've been delivering this for the last couple of days two elite dribble petty traders who can tend not only take you.

"Ugh welcome agenda highly questionable this is a new hispanic guy we got over here bobby whose that over there all right not his favorite son just some of my favorite one of his best ones what are you like on the show today dan i like the fact that there are no pro basketball games that it we're all going to act like we're college basketball experts in the know most was probably started watching yesterday he started that off with that day and that was unnecessary very television of him valid poppy where are you guys do quick plenary three yona's next steph curry they lost by 30 last night against kansas they were terrible he was terrible if you were look at an evolutionary chart though of the basketball player if you go through the 50s through look kareem abduljabbar and chemical or net and now these seven voters that are at the 3point line the highest form of that evolution is steph curry and now this is the first product of the steph curry age a gutter from the outside he scores it wale and he's a good assists guy he's still an excellent player with a really fun style but he's not good enough to go into caves is a winwin his team never does that first of all you guys is a bit aggressive i never sent any of that stuff so let's start their second of all this is media projecting right and what i mean by that is we did this with steph curry when he wanted to end vps and we were trying to anoint him the best player in the game and then lebrun said nap that's not happening so we did the same thing reports radio the reason we're asking this question is because this is supposed to be the number one player in the country this team was supposed to be good all of us.
