Fresh update on "cupertino" discussed on Wealth Creator Radio

"The time on our show Eric, when you give us an example of someone's wealth success story, this is always a great lesson. I love to hear how something can work out for the best. So what do you have for us today? It was actually a little bit different, because it's kind of not exactly his wealth success story. But basically his mom was a client of mine. And Tio. The Earlyeighties worked for this now smaller, small place in Cupertino. Call the Apple on keeping some shares. And those got to be, of course, insanely valuable on when she passed away her two kids get some money and One was taking care of his dad and up in Oregon. And so it is living pretty simply. He didn't hate bought a truck. But other than that, he wasn't cash it and everything and going crazy spending And you know what we did is we started. Divers find that out locking and some that money protecting a lot of that money is his Apple would rise. No, we'd have some stop losses, so if the stock dropped too much, it would trigger sales. That way we'd lock into those gains, and now he's actually buying a really nice house for cash. And he's going to have Ah, well, river going through the back of his property and all this other stuff. You know, but he's able to. It's mainly because he didn't go crazy with inherited that money and the saddle enough. Most people inherit that money. There's all sorts of stats that show that Most that inheritance is pretty much gone within a year or two or three. And you know he didn't do that. He was being very smart with his money still is. He's in his fifties, and he doesn't really need to have a financial worries for the rest of his life because of you. Way we've set of the plan and because he didn't go crazy spend itself you know, that's one way to do things is not be a crazy by the Ferrari and all the others, you know, you know, buying the News, the latest all electronics that you're going to, you know, I'll be useless and through three or four years, right? So there's so many people praying on the fear out there Right now, it is gotten crazy. I mean, I literally had a client asked me about this this crash insurance and I'm like there's no such thing as a stock market crash insurance. So obviously the person then there's also we're trying to sell you this, You know, newsletter and then sell you. This other thing is that You know, and people are making all this money off of just selling your stuff to supposedly give you great financial advice. How great is there? Advice? Because shouldn't they be super wealthy? Not need to be selling you that stuff their vices that good so But again, it's that so that you want to talk about. If you want to figure out what should you be doing today? Get again. Give us a call, and we'll set that time that.

Wall Street firm says Apple could surge another 18% - and even higher

"More positive notes on apple from Wall Street fellow bomber Duets Apple, three dot O. snagged three notes from analysts will start with one from Cowen and company analyst Krish Sang Car. His was basically a vote of confidence saying he still likes apple for a number of reasons. Among them services as a long-term investable theme in his estimation with combined annual growth rate of eighteen percent. Those could be adding as much as six dollars to earnings per share by this time next year. IPHONES active installed base is about nine hundred million units that point. Even with lengthening upgrade cycles, Sancar figures, you look at about one hundred eighty million upgrades annually. He also likes the possibility of new subscriptions coming from the Cupertino Company. Apple is bound to return more money to shareholders and hey, look. We're back to services for a third time. Expects recurring revenue and that segment to go from forty-one percent a couple of years ago to as much as fifty five percent next year. Cowen and company hasn't outperform rating on Apple. Shares sank ours price target on the shares is four. Hundred Bucks. Next up P. Morgan analyst Samir Chatterjee. His was sort of a mixed message. First of all. He is still a fan of the Cupertino Company. Quoting his note, we continue to be positive on apple shares led by the combination of strong replacement cycle with upcoming five G.. iphone launches leverage of strong services portfolio, benefiting from large installed base of users as well as an underappreciated leverage to work from home trends. If? You're wondering what the bad news is. It's not bad news exactly. J. P. Morgan has decided to remove apple from its analyst Focus List because the shares of shot up twenty six percent over the last three months. There still upside in his estimation, but you have to look a year or two out to see the kind of growth. Apples been experiencing lately.

State of the Apple Watch

"L. Over one. This is David. Sparks joined by my fellow co co-hosts, your friend and Mine Mr Stephen, Hackett Hello, student. David. How how're you? I'm great I you know how much I enjoy recording memories. It just puts a spring in my step. It's good. It's a good way to start the week. We normally coord- these the beginning part of the week and it's it's nice to have it have it early sets a good tone and this week. I feel like we're talking about a subject that needs some love, so I am looking forward to talking about some love about the Apple Watch. Yeah, we've been going through these state of episode talking about the Mac and iphone ipad apple services, and now we've come to apples at least physically smallest platform the Apple Watch. Before we get started the usual announcements, we have a forum. That's really great at talk. Dot mcpike, DOT, com. We have a newsletter that you can sign up for right here. In the show notes and get all of the carefully crafted links and shown delivered right to your inbox when the show publishes, and if you WanNa, get the show without ads and little extra content sign up to become a member for the power users episode. You can do that. Right on. The webpage was sink set of an announcement I like that. Hey, man I'm not messing around today and the the member episode we are going to be talking about Stevens iphone. That is now in the Beta it is. Yep I hit the button after our last episode. I've been running it for almost a week and I have a lot of thoughts. Some looking forward to talk to you and getting caught up on I was fourteen, and we're making this subsidy about the Apple Watch, so of course you put the bait on your watch to right. No I did not. I did I took one for the team. Guys you did took a bold choice because you can't undo it yourself. You got a good apple I have no fear I. Write off the scene in Indiana Jones temple. It was the third one was the third called. Last crusade last crusade where he puts his foot out there and just the leap of Faith I. Just did that for you guys. And a problem I watch still works. My wrist is not on. Fire were all good. It's good. Apple Watch so this was the first product that really showed up after Steve left us. I think so. That was rumored to be the case in the lead up to the Apple Watch that it was going to be kind of the first full-blown product that apple a taken on. After jobs death, which was three years before this. I don't know. Exactly how true that is, but obviously the bulk of the work happened after his his death and so. In my mind, this is the product whether or not the dates perfectly lineup. This is the first product that is the post jobs era, this remarks that insurance for me and I think you could see that I I watched some of the original keynote and you can kind of see that. Tim Cook's very emotional about it. I think he had a lot invested in. It and apple was Kinda got to prove that they could still do it even without jobs at the helm. Is a very interesting product an interesting time. Know. I was felt like they were getting a bum rap. I mean Steve was amazing amazing in. And complicated, and you know if you're reading about him sometimes pretty difficult, but. he got some of the low hanging fruit while he was there like the phone. And I think the PAT were both pretty obvious of places for apple to go. And a raise like well, they can't innovate anymore. Well Ziv got the good ones in. And sure. Watch when they introduced the Apple Watch I think probably watch. Wearing was at an all time low because of the success of the phone I. Mean How many people I don't need an apple. Watch I just pull my phone in my pocket. I want to see what time it is. so I I always feel like they got kind of a bum rap and I would argue that like this apple silicon transition is proof that they still know what they're doing. Yeah, but the watch. was that first big move and I remember when it came out they what they went to the junior college down there and Cupertino that built. Refrigerated Demo area outside. Yeah, it was the venue. They introduced the first Macintosh. So that that is Danza. College had some real. NERD history about it. Yeah, I was in Cupertino going meet some people and Apple, and I went right by that place, and like Oh. Yeah, that's the watch place. But the the initial keynote. Was Interesting I. Feel like the Apple Watch is one of the few products apples announced. Were I'm not sure they knew what people were going to do with it. You know I agree in re watching it. It feels really scattered, and I try to thinking about other big product launches, so the ipod was a very simple device at the beginning. Put your music on it. Listen to your music. You could shuffle right pretty a pretty narrow scope of features. The IPHONE was a big step out of the original iphone. Demo- which courses famous jobs probably best keynote. Broader than the IPOD, but. Still kind of felt cohesive jobs, had that really long demos like I'm going to go to a map and make phone call and make a note, and it was all related and the IPAD. They had you know these things. This device is better than the phone and better than the laptop the watch. Really I think they had four big ideas, so they had time keeping that. Hey, this is a watch. A lot of the original stuff about the Apple Watch from apple is about how exact time piece it is, and how beautiful it is as a watch and. That's that's fine. It was then fitness, but not a huge focus on fitness, definitely like there is now. They had communication which really revolved in the beginning. It's not even part of watch os anymore. Were you had I think it was eight or ten close contacts and the whole side button on the watch the Bun. Underneath the digital crown was dedicated to getting you to this friends interface where you could go around and message, somebody do digital touch right I'm gonNA draw a little fish to tell you that I want to go out to sea, food or two yellow taps means you're late to a meeting. That didn't really ever take off I. Don't think

A Developer's Summer, with Underscore David Smith

"Hello everyone this is David sparks joined by my fellow co-hosts Mr. Stephen Hackett I Stephen Hey David. How are you good I feel like this week is kind of putting the capper on our W. WDC coverage. Finished up last week, we were able to talk about quite a bit during the during ww see, and then we talked about our Betas last week this week. We thought we bring in somebody who has a unique and interesting perspective on it. Welcome back to the show David Smith. You it's A. It's a pleasure to be here I mean I was? It's an honor to be on power users so I'm glad to be able to kind of come in gas lend a developer perspective to all the announcements that we just had. Thinking that you'd be the perfect guest for it by pay, we just had him on and then I looked twenty seventeen, so. I don't know what happened there in my head, but The you know David you were telling me before the show started. How many wwe cs have you participated in a believe? This is number twelve for me and my first one is in two thousand and nine, and I've been essentially attended in some form ever ever since so it's been like this regular fixture in my family that as far as like in which. That's longer than my children have. Our old, so like from their perspective, daddy always disappears for a week in June like that's just a part of a part of life that I'm sure they expect happens to every father in the world. They just June is when they go to California, but that's. It was a very unusual year to just actually just stay at home and be here, but sort of not here. kind of station in the basement to a just a after shift myself to California time, and then also just there's so much to do. But generally speaking, it was definitely a different year than all the others that I've had the privilege of experiencing. As, someone who's been W. DC with you? I think we one year we stay together and the relay Commun-. The but I feel like you are somebody that really always. My observation takes advantage of WBZ. You're always hustling to get to meetings and and get the content and I feel like you are in my mind for lack of a better term, a lunch pail developer just show up and you get the work done, and I've always appreciate that about you. So, let's talk, you know. You watched it from home this year I guess That was that. It was different I. Mean on the one hand. It was kind of Nice to be able to like my wife set next to me on the Sofa and we questioned on our TV, and it was. It was kind of Nice to share that with her. Because while we sometimes, we'll do that for things like phone announcements, or you know other apple events throughout the year when I'm not in California You know she's heard me talk about WDC many times and WC announcements are the ones that I like kind of lose my mind and be super excited, and like it's in a way that is unusual that it's not. As to you know with an iphone announcement because a cool new camera that's kind of clear and accessible, but like I'm losing my mind over some minor thing that they just mentioned and she has no idea and it was kind of a fun thing. I think for us to be to share that But it was definitely a bit odd to. Then just like just like. I watched the Hino, and then I go and sit at my at my regular, my regular office and I can download all the Betas, and like get started right away rather than like frantically trying to eat like an awful box lunch in between the keynote in the state of the Union and then like sometime later somehow try and get the. Betas installed over Chino potentially and not so reliable Wi fi, and so like it was definitely a very different Monday for WGC than I'm used to though I kind of liked it like it was kind of Nice I felt like I was super productive like in a very intense way which? Definitely took the weekend to recover from, but it was. It was different, but in a good way I, think is the best summary for how serve the General Rafeal if WGC was for me. The general take wagon talking to developer friends. It's like it was a more more is week easier to get information easier to manage Betas and find out what exactly what's going on. You're not kind of in the thick of it. But it was less useful of direct access to apple engineers. Maybe I'd say from my experience like they had labs this year. Which is alive that typically WGC they have these big sessions where apple engineers are available to attendees who go into, ask your questions, which is the one time of year typically where you're able to interact with an apple engineer, because typically they're locked. Locked away in Cupertino and can talk about anything related to what they're working on, but this one week they get let out in are allowed to do that. And I was very curious to see what they did for. The labs experience this year and worked well like I think I attended five or six lives, and they were just kind of like voice. Conference calls I could share I could share my screen to to the call if I had some code I needed to show them or something. I wanted them to kind of look at and by and large. That process was actually very efficient, and from the kind of likes to the way they structured. It is I mean they were available to anyone who had a pay developer account so I. Don't Know How many people that is in the world, but it is almost certainly. Probably millions if not. Like tens of millions and it was just kind of you signed up. You submitted a question, and they had of reviewed them the day before and assigned to a lab based on as like, do you? Did you actually see Mike? You had a reason a question. That's useful and. Effective to answer, and it was to the asking esque, the right lab, or the right place and feuded, both those things like I was able to get my labs, and got my questions answered, and so that was actually kind of cool. I think only part. I missed was really like. You're talking about the sexting at the the relay commune. Having that kind of that sense of community and being around other people. Like the idea. Of being on site in San Jose was something that I certainly missed this year, and that's a tricky thing to quantify 'cause i. think in most other ways. The Co like the conference was better for being virtual like the session videos were better, and they were more accessible in the sense that they are available immediately to everybody they all have full transcripts that are searchable and so are accessible, just both from an ex. A accessibility perspective of perse people for people for whom listening to video is difficult. They have the transcript immediately available, and they can do. Watch close captioning as Equally accessible to everybody irrespective, if you have the means and the resources and the ability to go to saint, say or not you just if you have an Internet connection, you have exactly the same connection, and then like all the content was super polished

The 'Brilliant Asshole' Who Almost Blew Up Coinbase

"I wanted to tell the story of Crypto. There's other bitcoin books out there. Of course but I wanted to make a successful to a broader audience people in finance academia so it is sort of plain English narrative of the story of Coin Base to tell the larger story of CRYPTO and how Wall Street Silicon Valley are coming closer together and it also includes a lot of gossip about the early days of Crypto the infighting in the world of Crypto and also just how they pulled it off to my my thesis Queen Basis basically becoming the crypto version of J. P. Morgan. They're going to be a bank one day and I wanted to tell the evolution of how that came to be and in the course of the evolution. What would you say were the biggest turning points I think the story of Crypto. Forgive me I'm GonNa ask the question. Broadly at first the larger story of CRYPTO. I think our biggest challenge is to go from being sort of a subculture of tech people who are passionate about it to something that can be embraced by everyone and I think they're getting there slowly and I think coin base has played a big role in that. I think by trying to walk the legal line if help to mainstream at so. That's I think but in terms of specific turning points I think the funding rounds obviously and I think just their success building highly usable APP and and also I think just sort of winning over enough mainstream people is what was one of the tipping points because the other thing I discovered in reporting the book allot people don't like is very much in terms of the old school. Crypto people. Because they're like you know not your coins not your keys and I understand that position but the thesis. I think I try to make is that. There's room enough for both camps. You're a hard core stored only on your wallet. That's fine nothing stopping you and I think coin base has bringing in millions more. Bitcoin buyers has helped build. Ecosystems that crypto general concerns and part of the reason people object to coin as holding people's keys and the fact that it goes against that. Not Your keys not your coins. Ethos is that it really puts the onus of security on a centralized place which makes that also an attractive honeypot for attackers so in terms of security which basically was pretty much of the utmost priority for coin base. How did that go for them? I think a tidbit. I revealed my book. You know. 'cause coins likes to boast. They've never been hacked. That's not actually true in the early days when there was five them because Charlie and Brian Federalism in a couple of other folks People one of their outside vendors dead did get in and robbed their hot wallets. The of tune of two hundred fifty thousand dollars can't remember how many bitcoin to was the time it was a lot. This was long time ago. Of course this was like twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen. But you know that's something I uncovered in the reporting so that coin base is very secured has a good reputation but they haven't been infallible. That's for sure and another time when it seemed that coin base was at odds with the broader crypto community was during the bitcoin block size debate. What is your take on? How coin be handled? That said at your excellent article on the big blockers versus small blockers of Twenty fifteen in two thousand sixteen. And you know I mean I confess. I had some sympathy for coin based in that because this will probably not make me very popular but I find a lot of the more ideological people in crypto sort of tribal and I don't think Brian helped himself. Because I think he wrote a blog posts saying you're mature and stuff you know win over people that way So I think there's fault on both sides but at the same time I think. A lot of the crypto believers beloved crypto. They love Bitcoin but can also shoot themselves to foot foot a little bit by making it. Such a sort of subculture insiders group that if they keep up. That attitude crypto cannot go mainstream. Because it's just you unapproachable from a social technological point of view so I do have some sympathy for For Brian in the coins crew in that way and as you kind of alluded to earlier coin base has had a tricky line to walk. Which is that. They've been trying to comply with regulation while also serving. This broader Crypto community which does contain more libertarian elements also has its origins safer punk movement. How would you say coin? Base has Navigate those waters. Well I mean you know Crypto has also you know skirted regulatory lines a few times. No thing I bring up to the book to is the early days with when they thought this is sort of funny. Actually because apple didn't allow crypto trading on their apps once upon a time so Brian FEDOR SIM decided to gio fence. Cupertino which is sort of funny so that meant that anyone in Cupertino would not be able to trade or by sell on the APP and of course. Cupertino were apple's quality check. Engineers are so that was a clever half. The meanwhile everyone else was trading as far as apple could tell people couldn't trade and of course they got caught named kicked out of the apple store for the year so that was sort of funny and then more seriously. I think Silicon Valley Bank which is one of the few entities that will bank tech crypto companies. They got cold feet after think. Frederickson did a presentation explaining how. Bitcoin could be used to skirt sanctions. He wasn't suggesting it he was just describing it because you know bitcoin of courses decentralized but at that point Silicon Valley Bank. Toss Them House coin. Basis a customer which is is very serious antioch because we don't have a bank. It's hard to carry on so a Quin base. Certainly made his missteps then but since I think they've done a better job of through walking the line and that raises another interesting point though by complying with US regulations which I think many crypto correctly say or too onerous that opened the door for finance to start running circles around them. And I think that's was. An is a very interesting story. The Nimble ability of finance to build what they want and operate the way they want to and coin based became bureaucratic as a result of having to comply with regulations and culturally to I think they busted out of that bed when it brought Balaj shrimp in on but I think you know the the thing is a mixed blessing for them. It's helped them become mainstream but it's also impeded their ability to

Mass gatherings now banned in Santa Clara - What does that mean for Apple?

"No I don't know that any of us were or are still expecting a big media about out of apple this month one had been anticipated to announce the anticipated anticipated iphone. Se to seems highly unlikely now for a couple of reasons first. Their stories heard over the last few days. The disruptions in the supply chain will lead to delays for upcoming apple hardware bigger than that though is a new moratorium from Santa Clara County. A report from macrumors says the county of Santa Clara's Public Health Department Monday issued a mandatory ordered that requires all mass gatherings of one thousand or more people in Santa Clara county to be canceled a couple of articles. I found say that that's about. How many people Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park holds? I guess apple couldn't by fewer than capacity really though it's hard to imagine a thing like that happening. The ban takes effect midnight tonight on the West Coast as of now. It'll be in place for three weeks. Apples taking further preventative measures at stores. And a couple of west coast regions. Another piece from macrumors says the Cupertino Company has cancelled all of its today at Apple sessions in the San Francisco area as well as in Seattle according to the report searching for today at apple sessions in the bay area or around Seattle provides results that say there are currently no classes available. Tesla and U.S. regulators strongly criticized over role of Autopilot in crash

"A stupid stupid statement from the National Transportation Safety Board this week. Cnbc's says the NTSB called Tesla and apple for neglecting driver. Safety in an accident cost one apple engineer his life. The Guy was apparently paying attention to his iphone with his Tesla's autopilot advanced driver. Assistance System engaged. I'll I can't say what went wrong. Didn't work as he expected. Should he have been paying attention to the road? Undoubtedly was Tesla somehow negligent the NTSB seems to think so. I have no idea but the NTSB also called out apple over the situation. According to the report the agency took the Cupertino Company the task for failing to set a strict policy for its employees banning non emergency use of mobile devices while driving. I'm pretty sure that's California. Law which would beat out any employer mandate anyway. Apple seems to think so telling. Cnbc we expect our employees to follow the law. I know that this is editorializing but that strikes me as a stupid stupid statement from the NTSB.

"Companies and those kind of things I was always inspired and pushed to do more and to ask lots of questions to be curious and fortunately we had a university nearby university. See Florida's isn't Gainesville and they always pushed me to reach out to professors or be a lab rat for some Grad students and <hes> also was continue to be curious always be learning but the other side is to be human and especially my grandfather having grown up in the depression oppression and having literally nothing and having to sell newspapers for two cents to maybe buy dinner for the family than being a plumber in New York City in the fifties and sixties and being able to send to kids college always pushed to like hey like there's a lot of privilege in life in a lot of luck and it's really important to recognize when you have lock in to help pay it forward to others and to you know to help others in their journey and that's one of the things kind of post nest has probably affected me. The most is no time to sit on your laurels in enjoy. There's so much suffering in the world and things to help out on absolutely you as a kid. I know you were very high energy and as you said very curious so nothing has changed in thirty plus years and as a three year old you had a ah Mac plus and then at thirteen you loved the company apple so much that your grandparents took you on a trip from Gainesville Florida to Apple Apple H._Q.. In Cupertino in California true story your story so why did you love apple so much and what did you say to your grandparents when you were there at Apple. Oh my gosh that's so funny. Mac Plus those apple history apple to the original Mac nineteen eighty-four you know iconic launch. This is kind of the the kind of generation a half afterwards and my dad bought it to kind of start his medical practice and to run the software that he eventually wrote for his medical practice but I fell in love at this company again this this product and if you watch kids today with an iphone or a smartphone and you see how intuitive it is for them to use the screen and that's what it became with me for a computer <hes> I guess being a three year old with a mouse and keyboard I learned a lot and I totally fell in love with apple as a company and the products and really appreciated cheated how far they went to build great stuff and especially kind of let's call it like the late eighties and early nineties. The computing computing industry was mostly garbage is mostly based plastic. Let's apple you some Beige plastic then to <hes> is mostly garbage and apple made great stuff and really push the envelope of making technology this accessible and when I was thirteen my Baretta present was my grandparents took me out to California cornea for road trip and when we drove to the bay area I was very clear with them like we must stop by infinite loop and take a picture in front of the sign and actually I wanted to go on a tour but if you guys knew anything about apple they're not very open to the public so I got to the lobby that was cool as best as far as but I had a very kind of well it's one of those like when you're a kid you talk to your parents and grandparents and family members about like we're GonNa be when you grow up. I was like I'm GonNa work at apple all they're like Oh. That's great kid sure you are always very determined to do that and you know it's funny..

"Cupertino California apple today, announced that sir, Johnny ive, Apple's chief design officer will depart the company as an employee later this year to form an independent design company, which will count apple among its primary clients, while he pursues personal projects. I've in his new company will continue to work closely and on a range of products with apple while I mean while on one hand, I'm devastated as someone who started out in this business as a designer Gianni and his relationship with apple was just everything I looked up to everything is fired to be on the other hand, though. As someone no longer in design. Johnny, I've set free, but still connected to apple is something I really, really deeply feel but sorry, I, I wasn't going to do this video today. I was going to wait and think, on it a bit and do a deeper, more forward-looking video tomorrow. But then you guessed it, the internet happened hot takes began to rain. In down, like medias and a Michael bay movie. And as expected, a lot of them were just as terrible, like terrible set and exhaust terrible. That's why ultimately decided to split my video in to, to get something short out now today and then focus on something deeper for tomorrow, so hit subscribe rugby-tackled that bell, mostly. You don't miss tomorrow show. And then buckle up. I'm Rene Ritchie. And this is Victor Johnny is a singular figure in the design world and his role in Apple's revival. Cannot be overstated from nine hundred ninety eight groundbreaking. I MAC to the iphone and the unprecedented ambition of apple park, where recently, he has been putting so much of his energy and care. That's the statement from Tim cook, apple CEO, apple will continue to benefit from Johnny's talents by working directly with them on exclusive projects and through the ongoing work of the brilliant and passionate design team. He has built after so many years, working closely together, I'm happy that relationship continues to evolve and I look. Forward to working with Johnny long into the future. Okay. But so what does all this mean I, Johnny has literally been at apple since the second coming of Steve Jobs, when it comes to personal computing? He's been there designed that. He's won more awards and been on more patents and entire companies combined. He's a big part of the reason almost all phones are now singular slabs why every laptop for a long time was wedged as air and why it was so hard for so long to tell any other tablet apart from the ipad. He was a design league not just for apple unofficially, for the industry, but he's also a designer a passionate beyond talented designer who outside of a few projects for product red hasn't been able to design much of anything else in two decades, not a set of chairs or a desk. Not a bicycle or personal jet plane. Not a set of knives, or a grandfather clock, he's designed the best selling products in the history of bestselling products. But that's all he's been able to design that is. Aside from his recent flirtation with apple park, and apple retail. Why would Johnny? I've leave apple only for this new design company. Love from to be hired by apple again, before it even officially launches sometime next year. Probably because it's a win win for everyone involved first apples. No stranger to working with outside design companies prior to the age of I've frog design helped make so many of Apple's early products. So ecomomic apples, also worked with outside agencies in the past with whom they've created some of the most memorable ads of all time. Johnny is the reason they haven't been doing it since Johnny. And now that they might start doing it again. Either in name only, or as a real deep collaboration time will tell it'll be with you. Guessed it, Johnny. And with Marc Newson, who's joining Johnny at from love after spending the last few years with him at apple not only shaping products in his own, right. But as a kindred spirit in a way that no one else could be since the passing of Steve Jobs. Second, Johnny not only knows everything apple has done up until. Now, he knows everything. The company is currently working on for the future as well. His team has been pushing out designs not just for the next generation of products like glasses auto motives, but prototyping and brainstorming generations of products after that, having some extra insurance wrapped up around that is in everyone's benefit, especially because third, it pre-empts just a ton of silly speculative headlines around, what if Google or Samsung or while way or whatever competitor hired love from and Johnny fourth? It keeps Johnny in the apple family, even if he's moved out and gotten his own space, and that doesn't just cut down the neighborhood drama. It keeps up the fields in the family design team leaders Evans, Hanky vice president of industrial design and Alan die vice president of human interface. Design report to Jeff Williams. Apple's chief operating officer both die. Hanky have played key leadership roles in Apple's design team for many years. Williams has led the development of apple watch since inception, and we'll spend more of his time working with the design team. In their studio now. She's not very well known outside of apple at all, but by every account, I've heard so far Evans is beyond solid. She's been effectively running industrial design for years, since almost after Johnny left, day-to-day management, there to focus on apple park, and apple retail. And she deserves a ton of credit for a lot of what the team has done over the last few years, and, yeah, feel free to transform that credit into blame if you're super salty and spicy about things like the butterfly keyboard, but it takes a company and years to let that ship, and I can get into that. In a follow video if you want me to let me know in the comments, but it's probably fair to judge her by the next keyboard than this one, just like the next air pods. And, you know, next generation of I phones having her and Alan die whose effectively been running HI since seven report into Jeff Williams is going to be a real head scratcher for a lot of people, and it's a bold choice, but I'm not sure it's a bad one neither Evans, nor Allen are being promoted this point and having them go back to reporting Tim cook like die. Richard Haworth did. Johnny was off working on apple park would have felt to me more like apple had no other idea what to really do it them. Jeff by contrast has been running apple health and apple watch for years and not just the way Dan rea show. Run some special projects groups or q runs. Apple TV Jeff is incredibly detail, oriented, and has a real passion for design part of the reason sub econ was promoted to senior vice president of operations was, so Jeff could spend more time focusing on product including especially design, also apple doesn't just meant senior vice presidents. Let alone C level executives, even two of the most important hires in the recent history of the company, Johnny Saruji who runs silicon, and John Andrea who runs machine learning took some time to get their senior vice president power ups, if apple is considering anyone internal, or external for senior vice president, design, I wouldn't expect to hear about until after some time passes, and a big new product version lodges after nearly thirty years on countless projects. I am most proud of the last day work, we have done to create. A design team process and culture at apple that is without peer today. It is stronger more vibrant and more talented that at any point in Apple's history. That's according to Johnny. I've the team will certainly thrive under the leadership of Evans Alan and Jeff who have been among my closest collaborators I have the utmost confidence in my designer colleagues at apple who remained my closest friends and look forward to working with them for many years to come. There's an incredibly crucial point inside their apple is absolutely the some of its people from Steve Jobs to Johnny is to Tim cook to everybody else. But everyone will leave eventually everyone or apple to truly last it has to have a soul beyond those people. The most important product everyone at apple works on every day isn't the apple watch it isn't the ipad. It isn't even the iphone. It's apple. It's making apple into something that can not only survive, but thrive even after any of them now you're going to hear from some people that Johnny checked out of apple after Steve Jobs passed away or. Shortly before he took on the very different challenges of apple park, and apple retail and for some people even at apple both of those things are going to be true for others, though, for the one still working within presenting to Johnny on a regular basis, it's going to sound beyond ridiculous. And that's because the internet like people just aren't good with multiple truths were not as simplistic, as catchy headlines and hot takes make us want to imagine and situations are seldom as extreme where complicated, we're contextual. And so our passions in relationships Donnie, led the team that designed everything at apple then the teams that designed the places to put all those teams and all those things he has I can only imagine look upon the breadth of his product portfolio and felt like he had no world left to conquer. Imagine how that must feel to one of the greatest industrial designers in history. And then imagine what doing something like love from must feel with one of your best mates and a deal that lets you still create with apple. But also create beyond apple create anything whole new. The world whole new challenges in potentials product red electric bikes be blasted aluminum hot tubs, Siri bubbles. Whatever he wants whatever he can dream up and will into production and who knows in a few years. Maybe we'll documentary on curiosities dream about his impact. I mean, they have one up on Frank Gehry after all, but also much more..
