"To play for the jets. There it is. I like how there's a report that Derek Carr is leaning towards the jets. Like literally is a leaning or what's that mean he's leaning. And does Derek Carr get to make the choice here? Is it the jets who say, you know what? Hold on here. I'm leaning, leaning towards the jets over Carolina and the saints. Yes, time. I thought it was more of a jets other jets leaning toward him. I know he wants to make it sound like he's got his pick of the litter of Carolina, the same thing. But I think it's the phrase is that he's leaning towards the jets. Is that right? Yeah, that's what I heard, but it sounded weird to me too. Isn't it the Jess that I deciding whether they want to go all in on Derek Carr? But then there was another report that it basically the saints are ready to make an offer to bring in Derek Carr. And then you have the Carolina possibility here. Anthony Richardson is, is he done with his pro days and combine days? All the measurables are in. Tomorrow is hand sized Tuesday. So I can't spoil that, but Anthony Richardson, the Florida quarterback, measured 6 foot four even 244 pounds. Two 44 44. That's officially. He's like Dante culpepper, man. And 6 four two, that's probably Cam Newton measured at 6 foot four. I think cam may have been just a touch heavier but I got checked that. He ran a 4.43 40 yard dash, which would be good for a wide receiver or running back. And he crushed everyone in the vertical jump the broad jump and everything else. I don't know if those things mean anything. And he throws the ball so hard. I don't want my quarterback who throws it extremely hard. I want him to be extremely accurate and have a catchable ball. But he's got all the measurables, which still bring me back to didn't I think he completed like 58% of his passes. Then it is numbers were okay. I think 600 yards. What do you have like 16 touchdowns, 8 interceptions? Yeah. Yeah, as last year, Florida, anti Richardson, it was third year, but he's considered a sophomore. He was a 54% pass or 2500 yards, 17 touchdowns and 9 picks. They're okay. That doesn't jump out at me. But the highlight of the positive way. The highlights that were posted in September though are a lot of people remember. Yes. When he was, he won the Heisman in the September in September. September Heisman. Septem is what we called him, right, I think. But Anthony Richardson, and now it feels like it's Bryce young, then Anthony Richardson, then CJ Stroud, then will levis. But we got a lot of time before the draft. You're going to get and everybody's pro day, it's rare when somebody has a bad pro day. And I'm sure Anthony Richardson is going to have an incredible pro day where he rolls left throws back right for 60 yards, just like Zach Wilson did. But, you know, I love Dan Campbell the Lions. We grade on tape, game tape, not guys running in their pajamas. Yes, Marv. The upside is through the roof, Dan. Hot take. And here's Anthony Richardson, a quarterback at Florida, and that is a four four 9. All right, let me take a break. Play of the day is up next. Phone calls as well. "To follow the story out of Tuscaloosa and when more information becomes available, we will certainly report that. But as of the hour, NATO's statement is the controlling conversation from that university at the moment will talk to Carol Robinson a little bit later about what her reporting has indicated. Let's continue with Mike in Chicago. Hey, Mike. Hey, Paul, hiding, David. We were doing great. Thank you. Hey Paul, I just want to ask you about the NATO situation. I know it came out pretty recently. I'm a Tennessee ball for life, you know, Rick Barnes is a great head coach for us. And I just want to question about NATO's answer. He basically said that boys will be boys essentially. You know, and he can't control what his team does, you know, outside of practice. I just want to know you're kind of opinion on that. And isn't the head coach of a high major university, supposed to have control over his own team? Yes, I mean, there's a lot of complexities to this story and we obviously done as much reporting on as we can. First of all. Why would you ever make a statement like that about something as serious as this? Is really beyond anyone's imagination, it was terribly insensitive and his best player right now is being linked to the story, not listen, you can say directly or indirectly, but he clearly was more involved far more involved than NATO's or anybody at the university of Alabama has led on. And another player was also apparently in the vicinity and NATO actor like there are a couple of guys who were. Rehearsing horsing around with an open beer can. It's an incredibly insensitive comment considering how it worked out, but again, I'm just a commentator. I don't have all the facts right now. All I know is what NATO said today. And I can make you a prediction, though, that you've heard some of the criticism of NATO. It's going to go to DEFCON one by tomorrow. Once the rest of the national media picks up on this, there's no way that NATO comes out of this well. Or his program, just in terms of criticism, not that that means anything to him or anybody else, but it's a terrible look. And by the way, it was also a story that had gone away. I think the media had acted very had reacted very sensitively to the magnitude of the situation 5 weeks ago. When it first broke and that's all going to boomerang today. Thank you very much for the call. Appreciate it. I'm Ann is up next. Hey, good afternoon, folks. This terrible story in Tuscaloosa. And for what was discussed here today, it seems that three or four basketball players were involved in the intimidating and harassment and some vehicles kind of not allowing the vehicle that the girl was in, it was I guess the exit was obstructed or something, but there's several players that were involved in the harassment of this thing. Give me one second if you don't mind. I just want to read a couple of lines from Carol Robinson's article because I realized a lot of people are just really confused. All we've done so far is share a headline or two. And I can't think of anything any other better way. It's because I'm not proficient with the story like she is. This is her story that just broke. She writes, Alabama's freshman basketball standout Brandon Miller, everyone knows who he is by now, arguably the best player in college basketball or one of the two or three best. Brought the gun used on the Tuscaloosa strip killing of a woman that led to capital murder charges for his now former teammate Darius miles in 20 year old Michael buzz Davis, according to law enforcement testimony, miles contacted Miller, he's the player, miles was on the team, and asked him to bring his gun to where they were according to police. When Mac Miller got to the scene, miles told Davis, the heat is in the hat. According to Brandon culpepper, who is a detective, meaning that the gun was present, miles added, there is one in the head, that culpeper said meant a round was in the chamber. Miles moved his girlfriend back to get her out of line of fire, Miller's windshield was struck twice by gunfire in the shooting police testified. Another Alabama basketball player, Jaden Bradley, was also at the scene of the shooting according to testimony. So that makes three players based on my accounting. Asked by L dot com why Miller was not charged. Tuscaloosa chief deputy DA whitley said that's not a question I can answer. There's nothing we could charge him with. NATO to court said today that Miller is not in any kind of trouble. So this is I didn't mean to interrupt your call. I remember, but that better explains what we are talking about here. Exactly. And just I'm just sitting here thinking and because all of this is new to me as it is to you. But you know, at some point, I don't understand why these kids are and I'm not saying they did anything other than harassing their presence and that kind of thing because, you know, boys will be boys. And they were the wrong place at the wrong time. But there may not be anything legally, but had this happened to any other student in school, it would have gone before the student council group, and they would have probably voted these people out of school and the administration were to win along with that. Yeah, I mean, let me stop you right there. You've raised a very salient point. Let's forget the law for a second, okay? Right. Alabama has a carry law that where he's 20. So he could legally carry that gun. So that's not an issue. Another question is, is he an accessory? It's a very, it's a very thin case, but clearly he's involved. Is he not? I mean, he brought the gun that was used in what ultimately turned out to be a murder. So even if he's not legally charged with being an accessory, some other charge, then you have a whole other set of questions. Let's forget this, forget the school for a second, okay? Should he or should he not remain a member of the basketball team? I think has to be asked. Does it not? It has to be. Okay, we have that answer already. Nate Oates is shrugged his shoulders at the whole thing. And then is there a student conduct question? I have no idea the way the university of Alabama works. But you would think that, by the way, it looks like they've known about this from the beginning. How could you not know that they were present? Greg Byrne, who's the athletic director, went with the team on the trip to Nashville. I remember he tweeted some pictures of he and NATO's eating at some convenience store or restaurant on the way back. So he's in the loop. Everyone at the university is in the loop. So nothing that came out today, 5 weeks and two days after the story first broke comes as a surprise to anyone on that campus. Well, and let me ask you this because we hear about it all the time with coaches winning the press conference. That is when that press conference. He looked really nervous. No, he looked for us. There's no getting around that. You know, I don't know how this works out, but it's not a very good look. And then end of all this, there's an innocent girl in Birmingham, Alabama is absolutely nothing wrong. I have a good day. Quentin was up next in Georgia. Hey, Quentin. How are you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. Good to have you on. I'm listening to your show what I just called it. I got a

Well, I got to see, uh A lot of the guys from the 1918 this weekend and it was it was really cool to see everybody come back and have a great time and George is set up a great party for them, but up in the West End zone Friday night. And they all got to spend a lot of time with each other. You don't get to see a lot of, uh, of your teammates like that in a big Gathering like that all at once, but you know, that's what you get to do when you win championships. You know you have a bond and those guys were sharing the bond this weekend with their wives or families and It was fun to see him all get introduced at halftime and, uh, you could tell which one's got the bigger the bigger cheers And certainly when Herschel was introduced, that was the biggest one of all but Personal knows how important all those guys were for his success. And, um they had a great time. So it was fun. And now I know they just want to be followed up. Yes, another Championship. And maybe this will be the year Thank you very much. I don't know if he was watching Georgia or his team, but Um My question is, why does it seem like fans are losing faith in the coaching stare? I don't. I don't know where I'm not six of that with anyone at Georgia. Um, any confidence in the coaching staff? Yeah. Carl, I'm not seeing that maybe this year of the game. You know you, you you pick apart to move here and move there. But, you know, obviously Kirby with What the team did yesterday. Stats have been it has. It's just an incredible performance for the ages yesterday. Yeah, you know, that's what I think. I think more of anything this coaching staffs doing a great job. You know, last week against Clemson, I put it. One of my picks. My three keys to the game was the coaching staff being Um, you know, communicating to the team making sure that these guys knew their assignments. Um and I've seen nothing but stellar performance from everybody haven't seen mistakes out there miss assignments, and I You know that goes straight to the coaching staff and how they are able to communicate to these kids and make sure that they know their assignments and when they put them in, um, you know They've They've got to react at that point. I think we saw a clear Uh, clear message yesterday when you know before the game you're sitting there looking at Georgia's got the confidence and whether it's Stetson or back, and you know whether it was, you know, whatever the depth chart. At that moment, they made the decision to go with Stetson. And.

Generally speaking, you have to Describe it as a mix of snow and sleet in varying amounts of either of those, depending on where you are mostly accumulations. So far, the bigger numbers have been occurring north and west of D. We're all going to be sleet and freezing rain by early afternoon, even though especially close to D. C. The Metro area. The snowfall purely in terms of the accumulation of just snow. We're talking the lower numbers, but the impact from all this sweet we're going to get today is definitely treacherous in the winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 a.m.. What? GE falls below $10 for first time since 2009 after analysts say dividend cut may not be enough

"Its first earnings under its newest CEO. Let's get into this with Jim corridor equity analyst over at CF are a research on the phone in New York City. He cut his twelve month price target in two thousand eighteen EPS estimates on GE also carrying Ubale heart is our senior industrials analysts at Bloomberg intelligence. She's here in our Bloomberg interactive brokers studio, Karen I want to start with you. We mentioned this stock tumbling to a two thousand nine low below ten dollars. And that's where it sits right now. Ninety six we expected there to be a lot Latin this quarter a lot of bad junk, if you will is it worse than we expected. Walk walk us through it. I think people wanted more. There's a first of all the investigation. Now, people are like how big is that black? All the additional DOJ investigation, adding the goodwill charge that black hole is what scared people for awhile. And now, it just got bigger, and they also said that they have to help fund put more money into GE capital. The DOJ has been looking into that twenty two billion dollar charge that she took in connection with its power you. Yes. Okay. And so sorry, Jim. I it's you take a look at this worse than you expected. I mean what what was the big surprise here? Because we knew that there were some things that obviously got Larry Culpepper predecessor fired. So what really caught people off guard. I think it's the combination of the announcement of the DOJ investigation coupled with the cutting of the dividend by almost ninety five percents wiping out the dividend investors that were in the stock for the dividend. Even though it was reduced from earlier this year already. We're exiting at one cent per share at the same time that investors that were holding on with hopes for restructuring are disheartened by DOJ an SEC investigations. So are we missing something? It's an eighty six billion dollar market cap company. That's expected to have one hundred and twenty billion dollars in revenues. I mean, Karen, it's not like there is value in General Electric in. I think it's it's the unknowns that are scaring people if I look at the aerospace business is an unbelievable business, and it blew this things away in this quarter healthcare is good. I mean, standalone the company certainly got a lot of value in it. But it's just how big are the charges. How much will they pay? I have a thought on the goodwill right off. There's a lot of flexibility on when you have to recognize a goodwill charge. Caterpillar? Four years losing seventy five percent of their revenues in their mining business. And we kept saying are you going to write it down? What are you gonna write it down? There was a clause in their ten. K that says basically as long as you think there is value there over the long term, you don't necessarily have to write it down. I don't know what GE will decide, but we were badgering them to do it. And guess what they were right? The businesses rebounding. It's up twenty five percent from the bottom. And it's not back where it was. So there's that's what I learned. Oh, there's a lot more flexibility in this. So I wouldn't think they're going to necessarily. Have to take an a bigger hit. So Jim what do they need to do? Now. What do you need to hear from call to give you confidence that he's got this ship closer to to write than before? Number one. We need to have these restructurings and he's right down. Stop. We can't have a twenty two billion dollars here. Fifteen billion dollars charge in January and have it keep going on. And on we need to have stability. So that we can have some faith for the future member to Mr. call past set some targets, which they are setting. Are they need to hit them execute on these targets? So you can't really even figure out how to value a stock. Like, gee, you have some kind of firm financial data you could trust that when they tell you a credit revenue or earnings guidance. But there's a good chance they might hit. And they've missed target after target. If the target had endless restructuring, so they need to put a stop to that and start hitting at executing again. Well, okay. But do you expect that Jim to start next quarter? I'm just curious if they haven't given the new guy kind of time to get settled in a seat and really figure out where all the problems are buried so that it can come out and say, hey, folks, here's here here. It all is are we need to be patient and could be expect maybe another couple of quarters where things. We're going to be you know, we're gonna have some surprises coming out. So yeah, I would argue for patients, but if you look at GE investors, angry they didn't give John Flannery six months to to to restructuring program before they start in the door. So you know, it's gonna take awhile to take six months to a year before you can get a ship. The size of a turnaround, but investors are angry at impatient. And they're unlikely to give the company much time. They're worried about the financial side. And they didn't tell us away. They're going to generate real cash. You know, they said we're not doing Baker Hughes. The sale of Baker us shares earlier where we're not selling G casts were not, you know, they haven't given us a way we're not doing an equity offering then how you going to get out of this cash Meyer. So do you think I'll tell you? They change their mind on that. And what's the most likely scenario to raise that money? I think they do change their mind on on some of this. First of all Baker us announced today that they're halting their stock repurchase. Waiting to see what GE is gonna do. Gee, said they're not changing the. Timeframe. So there is some kind of conflict there Baker uses that basically saying, we'll take it. We'll take it. And yeah, we'll take it off the market in advance of the John July twenty nineteen lock-up period. Also GECAS they love that business. I'm not so sure they're ready to do something with that. But they're getting knocked on the door. You know, the doors get knocked down on that aircraft air aviation finance business. I don't think they're ready for that yet. But but hey, Jim just quickly got about thirty seconds. You kept your hold rating despite cutting the price target and the full year EPS estimate why just quickly. There's a lot of value. A lot of value at the company. They have great assets. They are leader in aviation transportation is doing great even though they're spinning it off healthcare is a leader in oil and gas showed stability this quarter. So there are some great assets at GE, and if they could just get they're restructuring halted get the company back on firm footing. There's going to be value there. But it's just a matter of when. It's tough to put a sell on of stock is down there. Thirty seven percent is industrial do want to rotate into the stock. You've seen. The soccer hour over time. And if they could just get some good news going. Rotate back into the sheriff down about ten percent today down forty three percent so far in two thousand eighteen Jim corridor equity analyst oversee far a research on the phone in New York.
