"I've it's almost like i've seen the thing that's going to end me on. That is like i say the image holds me the other thing. That's really good. Is a bit of filmmaking. Is they take a sequence of a paparazzi sequence of something like eight thousand photographs taken on fast. Repeating fast sherzer as paparazzi will do. They'll just like sugar camera in the face and just spray. Yeah then just choose the frame after they take all the frames and animated almost into a softening thing where you see this rattled and ruin amy collapsing or cab and trying to get away from this mob. That's following her and it is. I think a great film crash because it shows you not only what happened but it kind of shows you the medium. That made it happen. I'm not really really impressive. Plus it's our and it's friday night. You could watch this. This is not the commitment of a two and a half hours bronxville. Sparks film is is joyful. I will make you feel great at the end of this. You will feel. I think guilty. I certainly think yeah. I think because because she is the engine of this decline. You wouldn't have a job unless the papers bought their pictures. An papers wouldn't print the pictures and people were willing to like princess. diana wherever ultimately is to blame. I don't even think the audiences to blame for what happened. So i mean white house. I think it was sadly on this. Those riddick thing to look at is it was in here. And and i think he was going that way even if nobody was taking a single of. That's really helpful to my is a societal thing. Though is the consumption of that and how that gets out. She was in the papers every day. That is odd about it though they try and play that down because they said they don't want people to remember but by playing it down you do. There's that sequence. B b you actually forget. How did she was in that respect. I found it. I found it very harrowing. It's inconclusive. But i think it should be because there is no conclusion apart from. This should not have happened but no one seemed to be takeaway is no hey going behind. Okay well let's say that the white house foundation that does how that that is something. "Southland voice. Cussing through new. Forget that it's not out green. Curtis mayfield. I really enjoyed that. But there's an element of those very lovey dovey kisses songs. And that's the thing that made me feel slightly uncomfortable don willett tulsa quiet and i'll show i'm it's one of those things i'm gonna go back and give it another. Listen and jason does quite a lot of male mind. Here isn't the you've tried one. I'm not worthy. "Dmc on whoever was doing the nighttime show and radio one and i thought this terrible. There's no music on its drum machine and shouting a week later. My favorite kind of music. He's one of those transformative moments where you think back to the album keeping psyche. Fail not much else to say. Awfully basically produced are if i didn't find it disappointing. I was by the same role Daryl on all this. The only disappointment to me was the album is effectively. A greatest hits the. I think it's a majority of signals the earliest four five yet. But that one. I just fail is so that the The the production incredible but the the the kind of the interplay between his conception of what a pop singer is on the melodies. It's just almost all improvable. Anime is to me still. Although it was it was quite the hit. is still really undiscovered territorial. I think the one people maybe a perfect record. I think as well there's something about green that said it reminds me of young americans. There's a white. The white boy hip hop element to it is that he really wants to understand. Funk groove and soul and all those songs are so perfect in that rhythmically they adjust absolutely on the button and just the groove in there and grievous such an underused word in the sense of what it really does mean. When you're player when you know how to put that into some just sounded actually about the musicality over and coming back listening to. But then i've gone back and listen to songs to remember and and the latest that sort of thing and there is that threat in it. I don't think that one stands out over another in the fact that this this group and the funk and ornament little bit let them about we talked about today sean helpless stakes think the rich tapestry. Recommend this when we its own heavy heavy vine something he yeah yeah a small aside the hov competition when enemy came out to win a copy of the artwork counter. And i've got my shade. My shed some house. But was i actually. I was the only person that entered it because nobody knew who they will. But it's pretty greens written. It's got both top thing on so called green room now my shed is a very good. It's actually snappy nice from dubs but that's nice bizarre to the got. What about sergeant culpepper. I up enormous points for an excellent title. Joel culpepper is southeast. London latte pack him and captured group of classic soul. He's been building to this day for many years. He's not kid at told. Darley's lee you know your wear an sullen. R&b inside out. what did you make of it. I didn't enjoy as much as i thought i would. But i think is a very very impressive record it. I think that's one of the thing about knowing your influences and then i think there's something in doing something with them and i think it's interesting listening a lot to back to back this week and you listen to just how perfect her brunson and salaam remi were putting all the influences together and making something quite different and quite new sounding at that time you set the template for how everything was to sound off towards. I'm not sure this does that. But what i'd done that for one. Second is his love and integrity of what he's doing you know there's so many in the jets type track and he doesn't he referred to bill big bill bruhns in all of that and he's like it's great you know there's lots of little lists going on there What it has done is made me want to listen to again You know. And i think that's the a good record but to me. It's a bit like the turn appears on jewish harland's later to be knew incredible. I like about it is. It is effectively a world tour and historical tour of pretty much every form of black music. It's marvin gaye. Solitaire macron was just had with a big cats mayfield drama figure in the middle wer is edwin starr tamla digging thank you know funk utah that just so emblematic outkast. You know. Prince catches may failed. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Because the sort of drawing on something oracle the richest wildly popular music in existence. What i liked about it is people often say albums ronnie. Even what i like about it was that it isn't even every truck does sound different. Yeah it's all coming from the same place. I found him a fantastically engaging character of the centerpiece of it. You know like he is you know he's not a he's not a belt. His voice is not as it's not a long smith he is he is in the contemporary sense of the fragility of montenegrin bay. But i think that face it really really well in this kind of like bill. And ted's excellent sullen. Rv adventure travel three time apart. Really did one of my zone. What's going on education of lauren hill. And he ended up in what he called defection. Procrastination as you do a green gartside you sit there fiddling with it not make make a decision. What did you make him his voice. Donald a so. It's it's again. it's not sort of conventional decided the lungs smith thing. I think it's quite endearing. And there's again you you think you could hear that voice in twenty years time and you could hear it maturing An and growing Yeah i think it's quite strong voice. Might think i'm still busy right. Down lung smith On a t shirt but next time we speak unequivocally loved this record daughter now is what you're saying you have your if it depends where you are who you are so i was really of this guy before. Listen to anything and his messiah. Parts of the world is me. So he's like israeli you know he's every might people and it was exactly the kind of thing that i like. I loved his voice because he's kind of sexual with a level of husky. Underneath the ready it was a bit of curtis mayfield field but it felt like its own thing. I loved the kind of retro some little snippets of one hundred hundred and tenth street. But this time it felt like it to me. Felt like he was trying to do something new with it. It felt like he was having a go. The i think the most veteran moment was yes. He did strains almost being in the jets from but i think he got away with it. It's very difficult for me to be moderate about this to me. This is my record via so all right. Allow greg do what i've been. How how i. I'll give it a go thought and i absolutely swept away. I think is fantastic and have been hammering. It's possibly because it's the biggest cliche in the world to talk about You know. Summary records bullets enormously so as i stroll to work in the morning across hybrid sales in north london. This is fitted so well as south on record to me. It's like it feels very meticulous. There's lots of. There's lots of lots of good tiny tiny bits a bit like the sparks movie that we can see attention to these was fantastic. We had biblical narration. Wer or he just. He's just kept us uncle of a french guy. Introducing compare he's just kept. It just feels like this has been so a work of great attention out of work of you know somebody who thinks maybe they've only got one shot to do this other going to pour everything into it. Although the weird thing is that because he's listed as his debut head he's released what's described as an ep before loan to track down. These lost off out. This is the first album proper. Believes they call it these days. He's not been idle. As far as i can tell shabas colpepper the culpa. I really enjoyed the first half I really loved the song. Bodies w. a. r. droppings replayed then it goes into extremely sweet sola points and that's the bit when my brain switched. It was maybe two sweet this wonderful bits where he does actually wrap on it. You get the.

"Music is rearranged sparks. That's the truth sparks for the plus spokes featuring everyone from back. Alex promise and stephen and jillian from new order to josiah road tony visconti and big mouth. Regular katie couric. So dr elise lea. He's written a book about sparks. The story of the brothers is possibly unique. In papa's anybody is and completely current and relevant since actual beatle mania. This is the entire span of history of they've been active in. It's heavenly. yeah it's a someting. You look at that piz. Any given point when they were knocking around and famous dependent whiskey. Go go to about three people. You know the other bands around them when they were on top of the pops. Seventy four seventy nine. I think if someone had said a group that look like the novelty act would be one that would still be the one that was somewhere near the cutting edge. Yes the hitler not balanced with current. Yeah hitler outvoting thing folk myth. A male of the whites presented in the film as the sota verb miss. It was because. I think it was a car. Remember who started it. But obviously anyone will. Not john lennon couldn't saito for the pope's in nineteen seventy four bucks find. That's a spec touch on that one. But what i like about the show is the way. He certainly doesn't share condo. I mean i felt like that. She lived their career with them yet. It's it's full of you know interesting. Access points And i think he's choice of talking heads is is very carefully selected. They all meet this criteria because most of them look beautiful. And they're all that sort of elegant sort of sixty year old most of the people in it Male or female. And i love the fact that he would just from what line that made the film for me. This is what we mean. A little side is the fact that just as you kind of think you've met everybody you're gonna make oh hang on its cases case Oh look it's a knows wolves. Oh look at this. Dawson's of these people have one of the great things about it is the kind of zelic like quality of isn't it including like incredible of the beatles performing in beverly hills but bill balsa. It's a big l. a. And the camera pans and there's roland russell aged about seventeen in the crowd were there. They were every were over sixty period. I and i think that thing. I think he's testament to if i had really really made you know there was a sense that when i first met them interviewed that there was always this sort of nuring thing that they've never quite made it. You know there was if we don't need this. We could have done that but the fact talking openly they didn't do it has kept them always hungry and wanting to do the next thing. The film does become a bit album tour album. The next thing but i think it really comes to life and i think what actually saved the motorcade going but i think when sue harris appears as their manager behind in the early nolte's which is when i already i met them insides you to interview them and things the stewardship because she's not a fan. I think there's a there's a there's a classic thing here that any band or artist where the manager is fan or you know wants to get involved in. I tend not to work. She tough to the business. They looked after the creativity. And i think that was very very potent and kept him on track. And i also think her sort of pr background you know the coup of the twenty one hour you think of it you still think of it using this felicia's don't they decided that. They play every single one of their albums in older over twenty one nights in these things on academy in north london. I went through about five of them. A went to some of the lesser loved albums. Poly because you could get the tickets for the files. So what's the number one in heaven which was amazing and it was just again. That's something nobody else can do. Nobody wanted.

A film was so negative about the industry. It was in and lots of people know that. But i mean i've spoken to richard loncraine. It went on to be a very so hallowed film director and you know the fact that they were also kids starting out on the they had rights is go on the road with a minute away in this face a ten years. What what. I noticed whether it was intentional. is completely the anti huw that he's nights has a lot of the things in common than going to recall things in studios being on a train And being in a police station but like when they're in a police station is all very garden. Ringo in holidays not here. It's light not saying don't pow in next out by a bogue is like it's just not a pretty film and more and more you look at it the more you realize actually how it did so stifle their career in terms of where they were. It was almost like not exactly like but is almost as they've of as if ram is to make get carter mc fly had decided to make. I don't know some of the brutal realist thing. Yeah i absolutely. And i think it was the speed with which went from dot to that. I think you know with a monkey series. You sort of see it evolving into psychedelic cao's towards the end. But that was a a nice seventy two episodes here. There was nothing. people were expecting. Good-time jolly christmas christmas. There's a powerful thunderstorm near Remington right now between remission and Culpepper, the moving off to the east at around 45 miles an hour. These cells may start to rotate, and if they do, they may become super cells who may see some more tornado warnings. Come out. So the tornado watch continues for the entire region until 10 o'clock tonight, the good news that the first band of storms is moving off to these very quickly. So our eastern suburbs will get a brief break. "68 in Culpepper and 70 Manassas smart We're number 18 doesn't really have the same ring to it, does it? No way. It's 11 41 on Debbie GOP Check Cross sport car guide Mike Paris, telling Dmitry so does this SUV is big, but not too big, a more sporty version of the same vehicle. It loses 1/3 row because of Ah sloping roof and the curves of it, But it's a very large five seat midsize crossover. Could you get more than five people in there? Or is this not at the limit? Not on this one on the regular atlas yet? You can throw up to eight people in that thing with this one that loses the third seat, but it gains a little bit more space for those people that sit in the back seat. So it's a win win for those who don't need 78 seat vehicle. And what about those five people's possessions, luggage and whatever else you're carting around? Well, this is no smaller than the regular Atlas. So you have plenty of room to get stuff back there. The sloping roof line does hinder a little bit, but Not much. It's such a large midsize crossover that you'll never even really notice it. My observation about its looks. Are there just fine. But unfortunately, there's so many other vehicles that kind of looked like this. It's kind of the same is the same. This is looks a little bit tougher. Maybe then some other. The crossovers in the market more squared off with these big 21 inch wheels on my our line version. When you look at the market, they all kind of want to get that same people, so I don't want to deviate too much from that, right. How's your mileage here? Maybe not the best in the class. It's like did about 20 miles per gallon for my week of driving with the all wheel drive version, so don't expect spectacular mileage with this. What else is in the positive category here? Volkswagens definitely been up in their technology game lately. A lot of things goes toe Audi there luxury brand of the VW group. So you get a lot more nifty features, especially for 2020 1 of the neat ones that I used was a traffic jam assist. It uses the adaptive cruise control and it's good for low speed, so stop and go traffic. It will handle the break. Aching and I'll handle the gas. You just handle the steering and takes away. A little bit of the Yanks that you might find is 45 grand, reasonable price. It's a pretty reasonable price these days for ah, upscale version of a five seat cross over to get a lot for your money with this and you get a lot of vehicles. We mentioned the mileage, not the best. Any other negatives on this. Well, it's very square. And there's maybe not quite as much the last area because the roof line a little bit lower now, So why is much glass on the side and maybe at the back? Maybe not. The best few. Luckily is a huge sun roof above you..

GE falls below $10 for first time since 2009 after analysts say dividend cut may not be enough

"Its first earnings under its newest CEO. Let's get into this with Jim corridor equity analyst over at CF are a research on the phone in New York City. He cut his twelve month price target in two thousand eighteen EPS estimates on GE also carrying Ubale heart is our senior industrials analysts at Bloomberg intelligence. She's here in our Bloomberg interactive brokers studio, Karen I want to start with you. We mentioned this stock tumbling to a two thousand nine low below ten dollars. And that's where it sits right now. Ninety six we expected there to be a lot Latin this quarter a lot of bad junk, if you will is it worse than we expected. Walk walk us through it. I think people wanted more. There's a first of all the investigation. Now, people are like how big is that black? All the additional DOJ investigation, adding the goodwill charge that black hole is what scared people for awhile. And now, it just got bigger, and they also said that they have to help fund put more money into GE capital. The DOJ has been looking into that twenty two billion dollar charge that she took in connection with its power you. Yes. Okay. And so sorry, Jim. I it's you take a look at this worse than you expected. I mean what what was the big surprise here? Because we knew that there were some things that obviously got Larry Culpepper predecessor fired. So what really caught people off guard. I think it's the combination of the announcement of the DOJ investigation coupled with the cutting of the dividend by almost ninety five percents wiping out the dividend investors that were in the stock for the dividend. Even though it was reduced from earlier this year already. We're exiting at one cent per share at the same time that investors that were holding on with hopes for restructuring are disheartened by DOJ an SEC investigations. So are we missing something? It's an eighty six billion dollar market cap company. That's expected to have one hundred and twenty billion dollars in revenues. I mean, Karen, it's not like there is value in General Electric in. I think it's it's the unknowns that are scaring people if I look at the aerospace business is an unbelievable business, and it blew this things away in this quarter healthcare is good. I mean, standalone the company certainly got a lot of value in it. But it's just how big are the charges. How much will they pay? I have a thought on the goodwill right off. There's a lot of flexibility on when you have to recognize a goodwill charge. Caterpillar? Four years losing seventy five percent of their revenues in their mining business. And we kept saying are you going to write it down? What are you gonna write it down? There was a clause in their ten. K that says basically as long as you think there is value there over the long term, you don't necessarily have to write it down. I don't know what GE will decide, but we were badgering them to do it. And guess what they were right? The businesses rebounding. It's up twenty five percent from the bottom. And it's not back where it was. So there's that's what I learned. Oh, there's a lot more flexibility in this. So I wouldn't think they're going to necessarily. Have to take an a bigger hit. So Jim what do they need to do? Now. What do you need to hear from call to give you confidence that he's got this ship closer to to write than before? Number one. We need to have these restructurings and he's right down. Stop. We can't have a twenty two billion dollars here. Fifteen billion dollars charge in January and have it keep going on. And on we need to have stability. So that we can have some faith for the future member to Mr. call past set some targets, which they are setting. Are they need to hit them execute on these targets? So you can't really even figure out how to value a stock. Like, gee, you have some kind of firm financial data you could trust that when they tell you a credit revenue or earnings guidance. But there's a good chance they might hit. And they've missed target after target. If the target had endless restructuring, so they need to put a stop to that and start hitting at executing again. Well, okay. But do you expect that Jim to start next quarter? I'm just curious if they haven't given the new guy kind of time to get settled in a seat and really figure out where all the problems are buried so that it can come out and say, hey, folks, here's here here. It all is are we need to be patient and could be expect maybe another couple of quarters where things. We're going to be you know, we're gonna have some surprises coming out. So yeah, I would argue for patients, but if you look at GE investors, angry they didn't give John Flannery six months to to to restructuring program before they start in the door. So you know, it's gonna take awhile to take six months to a year before you can get a ship. The size of a turnaround, but investors are angry at impatient. And they're unlikely to give the company much time. They're worried about the financial side. And they didn't tell us away. They're going to generate real cash. You know, they said we're not doing Baker Hughes. The sale of Baker us shares earlier where we're not selling G casts were not, you know, they haven't given us a way we're not doing an equity offering then how you going to get out of this cash Meyer. So do you think I'll tell you? They change their mind on that. And what's the most likely scenario to raise that money? I think they do change their mind on on some of this. First of all Baker us announced today that they're halting their stock repurchase. Waiting to see what GE is gonna do. Gee, said they're not changing the. Timeframe. So there is some kind of conflict there Baker uses that basically saying, we'll take it. We'll take it. And yeah, we'll take it off the market in advance of the John July twenty nineteen lock-up period. Also GECAS they love that business. I'm not so sure they're ready to do something with that. But they're getting knocked on the door. You know, the doors get knocked down on that aircraft air aviation finance business. I don't think they're ready for that yet. But but hey, Jim just quickly got about thirty seconds. You kept your hold rating despite cutting the price target and the full year EPS estimate why just quickly. There's a lot of value. A lot of value at the company. They have great assets. They are leader in aviation transportation is doing great even though they're spinning it off healthcare is a leader in oil and gas showed stability this quarter. So there are some great assets at GE, and if they could just get they're restructuring halted get the company back on firm footing. There's going to be value there. But it's just a matter of when. It's tough to put a sell on of stock is down there. Thirty seven percent is industrial do want to rotate into the stock. You've seen. The soccer hour over time. And if they could just get some good news going. Rotate back into the sheriff down about ten percent today down forty three percent so far in two thousand eighteen Jim corridor equity analyst oversee far a research on the phone in New York. Karen, you will heart.
