There was activity Virginia toward Maryland on the inner loop, legion bridge, collars are described a broken down vehicle kind of crowding the left lane that at one point we'd heard this was possibly a crash. The delay looks a little bit better So maybe they were able to move this off the roadway. Two 70, we've got a little delay now leaving Frederick toward Bethesda. You'll slow near one O 9. Veterans highway out in your benfield boulevard just east of I 97 had an earlier crash, little update in the district, D.C. two 95 headed south, slowing eastern avenue down toward burrows avenue, one broken down in the left lane. There is a crash in the district now blocking south capitol street. It is closed between Atlantic street and xenia street. You'll find D dot on scene. There's some slowing in Virginia. George Washington Parkway going north as you leave spout run, then again, as you approach one 23, this might be two work zones. A crash at a Leesburg 7 eastbound near whitegate place takes away the right lane, the delay remains 95 northbound moving into Fredericksburg after route three, the broken down vehicle got moved over on to the shoulder, the rest of the ride north, you'll be heavy again in woodbridge, but then you're fine riding towards Springfield. Also looking better on 28 in Remington up near 29, since Wednesday evenings crash, we've had a closure as utility crews have been working. They were hoping to be done by 7. They may have finished up early. You're in good shape downtown. We earlier had a delay that seems to be easing back a bit on the inbound 11th street bridge before M street. That's where it's kind of crowding along the right side, so just be aware. Staying in Maryland, you're good at a Frederick running two 70 south, where quiet still between the bellway is 95 and the Baltimore Washington Parkway. Utility crews still working in crofton, the overnight rec gone, utility crews on three northbound, route three north before Johns Hopkins road, right sides blocked, you got a left lane there getting by. Pretty quiet so far in Virginia running 66, headed eastbound, 95 north leaving Fredericksburg, no troubles yet on three 95, leaving the beltway coming out of Springfield north, headed toward the 14th. On I 95 northbound, the ramp to the inner loop as you ride up toward Braddock road in the center of that ramp, there was a ladder earlier just before you got on to the beltway. It's utility work ongoing from Wednesday night's crash on route 28 out of Remington up near 29. There is a post to detour the roadways block both ways, but they're hoping to have things open within the hour. Hopefully by 7 this morning. They're hoping to have things open by about 7 o'clock this morning. Now we're quiet on 66 east at Gainesville, no early worries, 95 north, falmouth headed into Springfield. I think people really learn during COVID that they wanted to have voice, that the workers over the past several decades, you know, in direct relationship to the demise of private sector unions have lost the ability to tell their employer what's important to them. Yes, it's always salary is always important. But flexibility is becoming more and more important. And I think labor management partnerships like organized labor can really help you feel like you have a say in what your present and what your future is with your current company. I am so encouraged when I see the young people becoming active in organizing. I think the American workforce remains the most vibrant, exciting workforce in the world. We take real dignity from our work and pride in what we do, whether it's white collar or blue collar or no collar. And when I see those young people pushing to organize, I just think it's another validation of the fact that we are an incredible workforce. Mario mancuso, a global affairs expert and former Pentagon official, joined WTO's Bruce ale in earlier to unpack how this changes things in the U.S. China relationship. I think the U.S. China relationship is entered really, frankly, a dangerous new phase. I wouldn't point only to speaker Pelosi's visit. The Chinese have gotten not just more assertive, but more aggressive. They've gotten more aggressive, particularly in the past 5 years. And in fact, it was their actions that precipitated the visit by speaker Pelosi and other visits by U.S. and European officials sort of in recent months. So we're in a dangerous new phase and what China has done with these recent actions. And I think this is pretty important. It's not just telegraph their capability to invade. They have long violated the air defense identification zone of Taiwan. But what they've done in the last 72 96 hours is demonstrate that they could invade and demonstrate that they could certainly institute a blockade and in particular what I'm referring to are some of the things they've done on the southern side of Taiwan and the eastern side of Taiwan. So this is an escalation from China, not from the United States. Now, you can quibble about whether the trip should have happened now. I think that's a reasonable argument to have. But nevertheless, once it was clear the speaker was going, it was important for her to go. I commend her for going. But this is all in China's hands. Well okay no no no let me put it this way curly hair. People shouldn't shampoo their hair. That's a myth. Okay great stafa. Let's start there because that's actually. What's more commonly said trump who your hair. I've heard condition as well really. Yeah stop it. Maybe straight hair. How should you be carrying the curly hair. When it comes to washing its really simple. One of the things that i say to my clients often is you have to get rid of straight hair tendencies right. And how do you do that. It's just simplifying it. And which is part of what we do. We try and simplify everything for our clients. Because if you don't do that it's as though you're eating soup of the fork and that's gonna be very frustrating. And so how do you shampoo we take people through this whole process and it's like pretty much. Get the right shampoo first of all what you need to have the right product. Because not all sham periods would then be the same. Most shampoos actually stripped your hair. Which is why in some way. Yes don't shampoo your hair. I get with people. Come with that myth because it doesn't leave your hair as hydrated but then when you've got shampoo that is specifically designed for curly hair. "At home during the pandemic, decided to plant a backyard garden. Things and it grew so much a lot of produce on their hands, and they're giving it away for free and trying to raise money for charity to Andrew Camilla and his 11 year old daughter. Kaylin originally planned a small garden, but they won't up with lots of plants searching raspberries, too. Butternut squash or strawberries. That's just some of it. As we kind of got a little carried away with ourselves. We realized that we were gonna have enough. Produce toe, you know, feed a small army, so they set up a farm stand in their front yard in Crofton to give away the produce and ask people if they're willing and able to donate to Alex's lemonade stand, Kalen says. We have a lot of mugs in her house where a mug heavy household I gotta say, and in the full collection which we put in cabinets was saying that ever inputs their mugs and cabinets, but I guess I'm just trying to brag. We have cabinet full of mugs. We have more than one. That says Number One dad. They were gifts obviously from from the children to their dad. Their home made. They're the kind of thing you make in daycare or you making grade school unit the. They're the kind of thing where you just say look, we know fatherhood is a contest and. And there's only one way to make it fair, and that's that everybody wins obviously not a fan of those mugs, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I was only ever given one Mug one homemade commemorative mug that said number one mom and I'm not gonNA name names because the kid who made it knows that they have asked it. Okay, it's like. It's really. A teacher made me this mug. In this teacher knew me she saw me squealing into the parking lot at like six PM, when daycare closed at six, but according to my car clock. It's at five fifty eight I was not late. AM pretty sure. She wanted to write like number four hundred and eighty, seven, thousand, three, hundred sixty eight mom, but she didn't. She wrote number one, but I could tell her heart wasn't in it. The point is. That is parents I. Don't know I, mean you. You're pretty aware that you're not the best, but it's it's I. Mean Yeah, no apparent is pretty sure they are. They're not the best but kids. They don't really seem to know. They! Don't really you know I don't know but to kids. Do Kids really have a realistic idea of like weather? Not their parents are really like doing a good job. I don't know. But our guest today is Brit and growing up Brit was pretty sure she had the number, one dad, or at least a top ten dad. His name was Crofton, but she didn't call him Crofton. I called him data and I remember him just treating me like a princess. Just knowing like this is definitely my dad, you know. He picks me up like when he comes home from work like he picks me up. He throws me in the air. He gives me kisses on my cheek. He took me into bed. Crofton was a successful guy. He was in real estate. He owned some buildings. Doubt was Brit security and she was his princess. She was his doll baby. Now as a kid, you really don't know much about your parents as people if you asked my kids. What is your mom do? They'd be yell at us and that's true, and also it doesn't pay the bills so I also make a podcast. Thanks children. I knew that he was a real estate agent. I knew that the the home that we lived in was his his home on a one of his properties I'll say I knew that he he was pretty well often in wealthy. I knew that he made my mom laugh allots He to me was. Even though he wasn't, it's interesting because he wasn't around and I knew that you know he didn't. Always. You know sleep at at our home. But there was something about him. That was security to me and I think it had a lot to do with the fact that he made me feel included in. He made me feel like I belong to him. That's what good dads do good. Mom's to good parents. Good grownups. They make a kid feel like they belong like they have a place in that world in that place is right here. That's Crofton did even though he wasn't always right there. I thought that you know maybe like. He was like on business trips, but he wasn't. You know here in the House with us, so there was a lot of piecing together that I did so I remember going to a grocery store with my mom and my mom's saying like Oh like this is data son, and so I I remember thinking to myself like I didn't know he had other kids like I thought that I. was you know? His. Kid I thought that you know I was the only one that was around. I didn't know he had children. So that's confusing, but you only now what you know.
