"croft" Discussed on Jay Anxious Podcast

"This amazing amazing trekking insight. So i mentioned to you that like over a year and a half ago. I was working on setting up the hidden. Adhd brand and at that point everything just been like internal like i'm just working on like i'm journaling. Unlike creating some ideas. And i was like okay. I need to start putting my name out there. I'm going to start. Blogging like cool. Mr blogging star. Right down my list. Right blog article. Now keep in mind jay. I've never written. I've never blog never written an article and published it on my personal. I'm like i need to do that. And week goes by. I didn't get it done and make an excuse. another week. Goes by same thing after a month of this shit. I'm like wait a minute. Aaron if you want this goal and you never do the things you need to do like publishing the article. You're not going to get there. And so i'm winding to a friend of mine dave bobbio and he's like you know what aaron i'm stuck too. I got this thing. I'm trying to move forward. Why don't we partner together like cool. Amway's we come up with a twenty one day challenge. And i'm like dude. I'm gonna publish an article a week for twenty one days. The articles like at soon. Get my blog going on super excited and dave's like no fucking way like i thought we're going to twenty one day challenge like i'm not doing that if you're just doing an article a week like what's wrong with article week. He's like you have to do an article day. Like if this is a real twenty day challenge like you energy twenty one articles in twenty one days like dave. I've never published blog posts in my life. What are you talking about. he's like. I'm not doing it if you're not all in anyway. Long story short as all in. But which comes back to your point jay. I said i'm not gonna like. I'll just tell you. I'm sorry i just missed it. Hey looks like. I've that's been forty years of my life right draft. Yeah so we use in this. You know james clearing atomic habits talk about them as ulysses contracts and some things you can do Dr benjamin harding. Willpower doesn't work. Call them forcing functions and basically there. There are five that i really teach a lot of clients i use. I used a handful of them for this. So one that came externalize. Your motivation is public commitment. So i shared about the twenty one day challenge on my show media to was having another person as a checker. If we're the only person that knows whether or not we follow through. We won't follow through. So dave was my checker. But also the fact that i was publishing on online meant that anyone could technically confirmed that i'd done it and then three is raised the stakes. So i was like. I will allow this if i can so anyway. Dave and i agreed to a monetary penalty that we would always each other. If we missed a day and for me that that raising the stakes made it so that it wasn't just i'm sorry but it was. Oh shit. i actually need to have a consequence if i don't follow through. Wow okay..

The Inspiration Behind the Simbell Wireless Bell Ringing Simulator

"My guest. Today is st farmer. Who designed and bills the wireless church bell simulator. Hardware symbol steve. My first question is how long have you been ringing. I've only actually been ringing well. Four and a half years. I started in two thousand and sixteen run up to christmas. My wife has been reading for twenty years and that is the one thing that she did that. I didn't met. We had a open as part of the heritage days at the church and she was sure that nobody was going to turn open. Beg me to go along with the tower and have a go at ringing just so that if they had somebody go there and basically i got there within fifteen minutes. I was hooked. What was your experience of learning to ring learning was. I was taught me a very traditional way in that we had our tower captain at the time who basically gave me half an hour every now and then when we could fit in before practices and things and i learnt how to ring as you used to probably set you for two years ago and that was one of the things that made me think richie i need more wrote time and that was the basis of it but of course the issue that you have with bells is the fact. They make an awful lot of noise and the fighters somebody learning to ring and the constant banging manda. I thought we had to do something out of the must be a way of doing it. And that's when i started to look into simulators and what people were doing other people were doing. What did you find to be the two options. At the time the was the the wad system that david bagley made. And then there was another wireless system co. Belfry that tony croft made and i decided that i needed something so i thought that want to put wires in and it was quite expensive as a system for what was really just for one person to learn as i thought i was looking from totally selfish point of view so i went to come tevi croft and he didn't respond to my email and that's the basis of how i got into the whole thing of simulators if you'd actually responded to the email symbol probably wouldn't even exist so i just would have bought a belfi system and learn to know four would have gone

Should Ekholm Be the Bruins' Top Trade Target This Season?

"I will give you the floor to explain why Mattias ekholm is a great fit. Just thought I agree with you on pretty much most of these points. Yeah. I mean, I think you look at it even obviously the brand see some depth right now because you know, we could be in a situation where when the Bruins resume play on Thursday if Crews Lake is a barrel on healthy, you know, you could be a situation where you're another body away from a guy like, you know, Nick Woolf for Cooper's a cord jacket Sean getting calls up to be pressed juice. Service like this so not ideal from the government's perspective. But even if this whole left side was completely healthy when you had loads on Grizzly kinds of oral. I still think the proactive move for this team is to still acquire a proven top floor guy just to shore up that defense just turned it as overall security like one. There's the health risk, which you know, we remember what it was a few years ago in the Bruins played the song is in the playoffs and it was you know, Tommy Crofts and Joe Morrow and those guys like that was that was you know, garlic McEvoy. Yeah. We're trying to give it was, you know, averaging 23 minutes of ice-time mean that's the worst case scenario in terms of injuries. But also you just run the risk of you know, going into the playoffs and it's you know solid as low as on as looked, you know as promising as a moral has been you still running a whole bunch of risk, if you roll those guys out expecting them to kind of, you know, not deal with the bumps along the road with that comes with playing heavy minutes and a playoff setting against tough teams like the capitals or off. No Penguins Flyers. If you get past that, you know, the the lightning, you know, all these teams that are going to you know, bring it to you. So I think would you rather keep this defense which has been great like you can I think you can you can admit that. It's defense has exceeded expectations and they've been very good. We'll also acknowledging and being cognizant of the fact that if you want to go all in this year, you need more stability back there. So I think a guy like at home makes perfect sense of your the Bruins. I mean, he's thirty years old big body which looks like a lot of Bruins fans, right? Just thought you know, he's six four. Yeah 6 for 2:15, but he's not just also like a I wrote that he's not like a guy like maybe Brenden Dillon who the the capitals acquired last year whose, you know, six four big guy, but he's kind of a stay-at-home option. I mean not Combs a skilled defenseman back there. He's one of the best over the last couple of years at generating 5 and 5 offense, which you need like you suck. Which I didn't it's funny. I was reading your column. I didn't realize he was that high up with 515 offense until I read that that

Kim Jones on the Making of Air Dior

"It's been a crazy. Eight months herself is being crazy as being busy. Yeah and i've appreciated time at home and being able to have time to myself. Reflect more of john when you were say a lot of time to research the excited about a very eventful few months but today we're here to talk about sneakers. what makes an amazing sneaker. And what makes an amazing sneaker launch air. Dior or shoe which we have right here. It's like the most sought after sneaker in the world right now. yeah. I've been scouring the internet to kind of see what people are saying and how much they cost and you know it's crazy how quickly they've accelerated price. I wanted to start with your own relationship with sneakers because it goes back a long time. This is not a trend. You just jumped on. I mean most people who know me know that i started out working at a company called gimme five whereas college but before that when a student also at school nyc for me was the absolute must have an odd save off and dish. Dishwasher governed by pair of sneakers and people have michael jordan with the heroes and just everyone was wearing sneakers. Me and my friends would chip into bypass to share them and share parents of have jordan. Fives that were on. Discount in place in brighton that we bought a we went and three as on them now. Forty five pounds and we chipped by them and then we take them in terms of obviously make sure no one stood on them and sick have never allowed to go out anywhere teaching them and it was just you. Nuts is the design. It was just like it was a cult thing. It became colton. You know we both got these which the first one of the first has jordan's in the white and gray which is the basis for the ed your and the ideal thing was really dickel t and i've had a contract with nike for quite few years. And then they taught me about being jordan. And as i really love to do with your because they've never done and luxury house with georgian collaborations. I would take italian at you know jordan with the dior factories and really make something special and exciting. And it's really you know it was solid. Where do you want jordan's that was really how it started as bit selfish so before we get into the actual kind of design of the shoe. Because i think there's a lot of thought that goes into that. Of course the jordan one for the uninitiated amongst us. I think sneaker has called it the aj one. Why is that such an important shoe. Silhouette i think is just such design. Classic infamy you does periods in history. Whether it's been shoes. Come out like this on the air. Max ninety five that just speak to people and they speak to a generation of people for me. I didn't have the original pair of these because they a bit too young for them and they really out of my price range and they weren't so easy to get the uk. And then as i started going to japan as i graduated i started collecting fares what i think the first bought seven bucks in a flea market and then to visit a friend where does student and that was kind of to shake shaking. You just they just become infectious shots at me. Now you just love to design it so joining a club. I guess so. When you're thinking about designing a shoe that has to balance effectively three different brands right. Young jordan has its own brand completely new operated separately with its own team. Then there's night key which obviously is like gave birth to the jordan. There's there's three iconic brands so when you're when you're when you're designing a shoe and you have to balance the dna. Three brees was really like we need to netflix. Because that's one of the criterias of deal is significant advance. We knew the letter had to be sourced. We knew we wanted to have the finishings. Made like bag would be made. So you have the edge painting. You have the way that things are hand finished in the sewing. The oblique here is made specific size just the jordan and it scaled per size of georgian. And you have again. You have on the tongue which is a new technique that we developed an inside the leather so units inside which they did have the normal jordan and inside. I have the numbers or these are the ones from the miami share. Whichever forty has them and really making them for people that would appreciate something and understand the croft now in consumption when you talked about fashion. I'm very aware of numbers and craft being important people. I think young people are learning by nets and they won't buy things last longer for me. Doing things like this was something being a limited number of things but it's creates excitement. There were only thirteen. Thousand pairs of shoes made but there's also a whole bunch of other skews in the collection which may be the as much. Yeah i mean. We've mentioned what we michael jordan's wore jay. But he was because he was the coolest guy and it was like he will seats all the time and we were looking at we made of his clothes and then we had to call them present it all to him which was kind of because he sees everything can approves everything jordan. What was that like. I mean he was super lovely. And i get in chicago. We went to do the don't it was like. I was really impressed that he was to be honest. That's the cage stream isn't it. I guess it was. He was just radiant. He's and you want to keep them the stuff so we can keep it and travis was there and he was reading into it so you know promise travis he'd be one of the people have it and it was just it was. It was an appreciation for each other. That was the thing that was nice about. What did you have to see to the powers that via d. or to get them. I mean they've never done nothing like that. I had to piatra use my ceo and we have extremely good relationship. And i was like. I really want to do this. What you think it nina. He's in his twenties and he was thought it was cool idea who grew up here as per say that was pretty easy to do in nyc. Nike was little bit but then they got into. It was his reading managing expectations of everybody in the right

Maryland couple fight to keep restaurant afloat

"P News. The pandemic has brought numerous challenges to the hospitality business. But the term survival has taken on new meaning to a Maryland couple determined to keep their restaurant and catering business afloat. The pandemic hit before Croft and Ashley in Kitchen and bar turned even a year old, the catering business that made the restaurant possible ground to a halt, but they still filled carry out orders and took the food to their customers. We had a catering truck that we turned into a Food trailer with plans to add another one in the spring owner side as wraps it up and his fiancee at least let Tabish say they've been able to keep their kitchen and wait. Staff working. But the fall didn't just bring tighter restrictions that put a stop to improving sales at the restaurant. Why The Oil Industry Doesn't Fear Biden

"To learn more on the surface. The oil and gas industry is losing a friend on january twentieth. Donald trump the departing president gave fossil fuels his loud support. President-elect biden supports efforts against climate change yet. Some in the oil and gas industry are feeling cautiously optimistic. Npr's camille mosque. Explains why you might have heard that biden's win could mean the end of the oil industry. President trump warned it. Would some climate activists hoped it would and in the final debate biden himself said this transition from their own industry. Yes it is a big statement and that would be a big change over the last decade. Us oil and gas production has boomed. The shale revolution turned the united states into the world's top oil producer. A lot of that remarkable growth happened. During the obama administration and trump promoted the jobs in prophets that resulted but emissions from burning oil gas and coal are the biggest contributors to climate change. Which is already starting to have devastating effects around the world. So how could biden tackle those emissions step one might be a ban on new drilling on federal lands and private loans. It's a different story. They do not have the power to your sake. Somebody in south texas. You can of drill anymore. Rene santos's with snp global plattsburgh says that that kind of a ban would be significant but not the end of the industry is also expected to restore some environmental regulations. Which again won't eliminate all gas. The big question mark is what a climate bill look like her personal. Don't think it's going to be sensitive radical unless you know the more liberal side. All the democratic party gets a lot of influence which are so we see right now. It does not appear to be the case. Climate activists and scientists have called for ambitious action. That might be impossible to push through congress if republicans keep the senate so for now. This doesn't seem like a doomsday. Scenario for oil gas. I don't think it's a wholesale assault on the oil industry. It's just not going to be in favour like it was under president. Trump halima croft is a managing director at arby's see capital markets. She says the biden is serious about climate change but also doesn't plan to do away with fossil fuels. We actually wrote a note over the summer about the biden. Energy plan called hugging the mid line. Not just because. I left the ladas but we really did see this as an effort to sort of the neo. All the oil and gas industry sees room for some compromises and negotiations which might raise the question. What about biden's big statement about transitioning away from oil and gas jin. Snyder is a director at in virus. Which provides data's oil and gas companies. She says that was hardly breaking news. To insider's they know that a global transition happening a move away from fossil fuels is underway at the society level regardless of the administration biden also said quote. We're not getting rid of fossil fuels for a very long time. Snyder argues a president who manages a gradual shift. Away from oil might actually be better for business. The gut reaction is that this isn't good news for the industry but we're actually cautiously positive and politics aside right now. Oil producers are facing a more immediate struggle. The

Don't know who you both are. Tell us how you got started doing what you're doing. Tell us about your background. Ladies first well. I started photography. I in nineteen ninety nine. So it's been a long time and just started as a as a side king while i had a day. Job and photographed weddings on the side and on the weekends and loved it and just started doing it more. And more and then i started continuing. My education was going to workshops and conventions and eventually went full time. And then i had a wedding and portrait studio in boston. That's where i got my start. And that's where i was born and raised and Did that for many years. And then about eleven years after that. After i got started and was all settled. I met this ustralian. Photographer met him. Because i went to a seminar and fell in love with his work and completely changed. My work went to his workshop and he completely changed my business and became our bomber career. My favorite is gillian And it was the first time i had met jerry and so we became friends for many years and i would see him at different conventions like wpi and that kind of thing and then years later we after that we reconnected Because in we had both gotten divorced by then and we're working on our own and We started talking. And then i just sold everything in boston. Moved to australia. Got married and we decided to start working together. And that's what we've been doing. Ever since we talked briefly when we first got together about running you know concurrent businesses. Because i had my business setup. He had his but that quickly went out the window. And i i really loved the business side of it even more than the creative side. And no one's more creative than jerry so we actually fit together like a glove when we got together and It's been ten glorious years. Ever since jerry always get my camera at the edge of fifty my first camera and i excuse me fill in love with the croft. I became obsessed shot every genre. Possibly imagine to work out which direction going I did what. I had to do to pass high school but anew onto photographer so i just had fun and played around and did what i did. After high school. I worked at a few camera shops. There was a four year cost that that wanted to do and after a year. I quit that photography coast because that would teach me what. I call the algebra photography and i prefer street-smart. I'm not. I'm not citius. Books might kind of guy. I just want to learn in the action of doing the work and so i did that. I quit and then i approached the studio that was very popular at the time walked in. I said i'm going to hold your bags. I don't want to get paid. Just let me let me see what you do. And i did that for about a year and a half with no pay And then i work for that company for about three and a half years. I started my business. Ninety seven At the back of charcoal chicken to go foods stool In the in the peak of the recession australia interest rates with twenty eight percent Family we lost family home. Such may yet convinced him a year to build and then we built this. Probably one of australia's largest studios At my paper was doing a one hundred weddings personally I studio was doing three hundred weddings and countless portraits and built that business. My brother bought into it. Some not ninety-seven. I sold that business. "Consider that you know to be a challenge for us But if we put that in perspective to what's happening around the world it's it's really eye-opening. Absolutely. Actually. talked a lot about this since it when when When the restrictions came in place. In at least in Canada but I know in US has been restrictions as well. We often my church could meet in person in churches across Canada weren't meeting in person and so is open doors. We felt like we could speak to this because we have dealt with believers who regularly cannot meet. WHO regularly have to? Meet with other Christians online because they're isolated believers, they don't have any other Christians who live close to them, and so I if you're from the Let's just authorized countries Saudi Arabia believer in Saudi Arabia. Your church might be an online church. Because you don't have another Christian coast you that you could meet. And so we we feel like it's actually help us in North America just understand a little bit of the difficulties that are brothers and sisters face across the wrong and I've a friend who actually just started an online church. Do you think that we'll see a rise in those type of meeting places? A good question. I mean I I. Imagine it's I mean it's happening. Now it's going to continue to happen I mean I. See my church innovating I see other churches innovating through this process. I don't think that we will get rid of meeting together. I guess. Something happens like. Real serious persecution in North America. I don't think we'll. We'll give up meeting together but I can see more and more of that, and there's benefits and there's disadvantages to it for sure. So I want to touch on something that you just said persecution coming to North America is that a possibility? Is it something that you think that we could potentially see in our lifetime I I.

"Great Wall. Dude why don't we? You kitchen on it. It's like bull fucking Shit like this is the way they're like not getting caught. Bales okay. They also look like characters from from hackers. At this point. Oh definitely these jackets sunglasses. You're going to get noticed. It is so bad from top to bottom and just these useless garbage set pieces like here. Eat this SLOP, you pig! This is sort of nine three hundred and the Nolan Batman. Movies in the marvel movie were like these are better blockbusters because where I guess trying just a weird spaghetti soup, I think you're right because there's at least a framework there that sort of makes sense, right, you know what I mean even if maybe a little bit Glib like the marvel movies are a bit overly serious as the novel Norlin movies are complete trash like three hundred. It's like there is at least like a framework in which I understand what I'm looking at. It has to do certain things to work as opposed to like I dunno a globe trotting adventure fucked watcher, the Chinese wall bear. What are they called the Chinese wall right? Yeah, yeah, that Chinese war! That'll do. Tomb Raider, two Chinese walk. LAZIEST! Piece of Shit Hollywood executive in history. Yeah, I! MEAN! It's a day after tomorrow. Thinking like just defile fucking landmarks and we're good. definitely were. People want to see big things defiled. What can we do to fakes? You think Oh, so many things. You could see her being bad ass. Motorcycle from space, though is my. Oh I hope so. She's just doing it S. it did not for any reason. Okay, let's get to a place a cool. I'm GONNA and he's not even he's a I'm not gonNA. Go on the Great Wall seems a todd disrespectful actually. Did you see that China band. This movie makes stuff like. Whatever the languages though that they issued like the statement is insane because the movie isn't doing any of those that like. It's not this, but their reaction that they put in this statement is like. If this movie played in China, our government would crumble. Like what are you talking about? I think they put the same thing for suicide squad. I think Chinese government is right there. Because then they're populace to be too stupid to function and suddenly the economy. China would have a real America on their hands. Yes. Oh, Yeah Paul Ball Kapah just so disrespect to the Chinese people You can't do it. Just political reasons. They laughed so hard at Paulblanco. They forget all their trade training and it's all over. We cut back a Karen Hines at. He's fucking torturing a different. Chinese guy like this kid is just like the delivery guy with the box, the ORB inside it. This guy like sprays him with something and blinds him, and he's like yeah. I don't know. Maybe you'll get your site back someday. Anyway time to go to the boss, and then like CAIRN's opens the box. There's just a cell. Cell phone in it, and he's like rare is the ORB. This guy's like man. I'm blind I. Don't know what's going on, and then he's like all right fine. Take care of him. And then this kid gets stabbed in the spine. Usually the move a you're. He's like. Oh, he calls Chen low and he's like well I hope like your bessinger. Boys like well. I didn't and it's like. I don't like that it just mail a cell phone to the would like dude. I'll call you seven o'clock. Yeah, what does this grab ass? Of. It is like okay. I might give you. The by. The orb might give it to Lara Croft to. Everybody knows not Lara Croft. But Lara crawl. And so we go back to our motorcycle shenanigans, and they liked roll up to this one area there instantly found by the shelling, and there is a fucking hocken the horn the whole time. There is a hilarious thing where one of these dudes like one of the like I. Guess Sort of Main Shalin heavies here Who's like maybe like Jenn? Lows, number one or something is. Kicks Gerard Butler or something, and he goes I told you. Jerry never come back. DID IT DUDE! That was a bad bath. Okay, you've. got. It is because like. He ran off with some young woman the last. Banged the sister of the big, Guy. WHO's beating him up? Oh, that's. Big Heavy Dude. It's like. Oh, it's your old partner whomever. Sticking basis. He made off with like two hundred Ming Vases. That was his big hall getting out of this fucking Oh. That's right I told you guys vases. Them Vases. Well, that's what you do. I'll steal a bunch of them at once and then. Maybe you know they don't. They're not able to track all of them down. Maybe we should just do. Cod cast just seems more lucrative. Is I think we should become super? Rob I. Super Robbers. We can't flood the vase market. We get all our profit goes away. That would bottom out the vase economy, yeah! So I mean. This scene is basically like Gimme the ORB I don't have it. I'M GONNA. Buy It off, uses Laura Croft, give it to me instead of Karen Hines, because he's a maniac, and whatever it just turns into this huge fight. This is what I went to the bathroom to splash water and face 'cause. I was about to I, would literally with that? "Right but like laura croft you're like oh angelina jolie so like going to be that stuff right so already has a head sar so like broadly it's really kind of like you said leverages familiarity and the biggest thing for the suits in the networks and the production houses it leverages pre existing intellectual property right and intellectual property i he is the thing you're hearing a lot of and you will continue to be hearing a lot of because it has that pre existing factor of yeah i know alert croft is plus you don't go the paint anybody for it you just have the rights and there's a cash kind of consideration to be concerned with that to me i think just straight up like reboots that's kind of boring and i think that has a season to it maybe i think the interesting evolution of this and where maybe the creativity will come back right like the market inefficiency of creativity is how creators will evolve solve preexisting stuff and electoral property in a way that's like off script or adjacent to the universe right so an example this is like the leftovers right that's a book that was written that was used in the first season of that series and then it went off off script right off cannon and i think that's a really interesting way to have your cake and eat it too so you can say hey let's do this people understand what we're talking about the familiarity but then we'll take that earned equity of miliary and take it in weird directions and people will be okay with that like you see i didn't watch american gods but i know it's based off a book series into this but really specifically accidentally game of thrones right and whether or not the paid off well or not i don't know but you have the books and then eventually have to go off books i think that's a that's a way forward where we can have really creative people jordan peele doing their thing but within a network approved context like pre existing intellectual would like twilight zone that he is doing i think the bonus to is let's.

"There was an alternate ending filmed but it was actually their backup ending the studio didn't like the ending they got neither do i they didn't like gerard butler turn traitor they thought audiences wouldn't like it he should be more romantic okay so there was going to be a longer fight between rice and croft in which rice accidentally shoots and kills drew are butler k not unlike how dana craig almost sorta died last time yeah they film that and she was going to kiss him and say she not loved him but something like that as he died yeah this is the problem you have a female action star and studio suits the oh like she needs to have womanly romantic ideals and that is not lara croft that is not the character we played she's tough as nails she doesn't need these men and she always exceeds without them i would be angry if she ended up in his arms at the end of this movie that would infuriate me yeah this fight though rice isn't a fighter and the whole running around ceilings it's visually cool it's completely unmotivated by anything i don't know why you get to the cradle and now you're dancing on the ceiling gravity's reverse or something it's just i mean i've seen this before in labyrinth and they did it much better there too much better effect they needed to movie it up they're like well how do we make this visually exciting if you walk up to a bubbling pool and there's a glowing box you need to do something this would be fun to play in a game though that'd be kind of a neat little thing to be having to find your opponent above you standing onto ceiling.

"Fire and mario let me tell you where i was in two thousand one walking out of fear i was jazz by the music i knew the action was good but i walked out of that theatregoing there's some plod holes that lara croft could just jumper motorcycle threw in this film but it was twenty oon i wanted to be a game designer i had actually interviewed at never soft they flew me out to la it was the company that made tony hawk pro skater and the spiderman game for playstation i was just into video games in general and walking out of this movie i forgave it of its many sins and i just loved angelina so much that i've ended up decorating my house in video game stuff at a lot of star wars stuff but i also had dr blow and i had some metal figures from command and conquer and i had to raider statues there were actionfigure figure ram was we'd have laura kroft versus a tiger and they were all from the game they work from the movie but i had like eight of these dioramas that were put out that stood like eighteen inches tall and we're all laura croft i didn't like the games that much but i like video games and i liked this movie enough to go colette stuff from it now i'm more lax with video game playing i'm just not in that mode i pretty quickly sold off all my moorcroft stuff i don't remember that phase was i invited over the time marjorie and i ended up having a long conversation about my spending of money and that i could be the guy who collects a whole bunch of crap our could be the guy who collects one thing really well and focus on star wars so okay well gutter marjorie i don't feel like this movie deserves to have statutes dominici oscars or home toe.

"Depending on because she's angelina jolie and she loves the elsam sadomasochism for just just for the sake of it why are they going to say that she's romantic after this entire movie wear i never i always believed her when alex was coming under her and she was like i'm not end eu dude like that she would actually care whether he lived or died was a false note i do like this one bit when ian glenn is in frozen time and he's throw him the knife and angeline is turning it around i think at just see in the slight imperceptible movements in un's face a little bit of oh shit like he can tell the nightmares turning around and foot he's moving so slow but i think the actor cells me in that gaze of oh boy this is not going to go well and then he gets stabbed but not bad enough that he can't engage in fisticuffs before yeah i here's what i think they had that as the ending and then someone said this is not exciting enough we want to see lara go oneonone punch kick and really go action and so even though this man is down way down he's going to get up for unknown reasons and engage in yet another climax they have an assistant he's got this longhaired fool that's been trolling around behind him with a bunch of folders couldn't they make him do something yeah i thought that was jack knows worthy for awhile but you hit the nail on the head they said in the commentary we decided that we need see lara croft be a little bit more heroic and have an end fides and so we collapsed the temple and have one final fight and she gets to kill powell and save last in the end barely escaped with their life we get one final action set up where she's skiing behind a bunch of sleddogs through through ice tunnels sat was so much fun now is just like i just thought of like the world's greatest waterslide yeah it would be something there.

"Really incompetent he accomplishes nothing he has with him alex west it's hysterical to me we have angelina jolie putting on a very good british act said than than we have daniel craig putting running really bad american accent that's why i asked if she was british in the game serb bizarre but a really weird choice to make that checks position for nor is but he isn't as good as she says he isn't going to do it either now imagine this lara croft doesn't here o'clock in the middle of the night like the princess and the p who halfway across her mansion something starts ticking as she immediately knows it's time to renovate by breaking down a wall and finding o'clock guy she doesn't do that the key is never found nothing ever happens she doesn't lead anyone anywhere the illuminates fail and they have to wait five thousand more years oh yeah i definitely feel like she will be tasked with destroying the triangle by getting it out of obscurity you're better off leaving it in obscurity where it becomes more dangerous once she opens doors that allow them to get closer to this objective power but the reason why she even knows about it it's time to bring up the postmodern connection she has her father jon voight i think at this point they are not on speaking terms they politically have been on very opposite ends of most issues when they go public about their politics and he had been kind of out of the scene it it said that he disappeared a 1985 and i agree i and seen as actor since runaway train in 1985 well he done mission impossible in the nineties sort of yeah okay that's really where he came back he started doing projects around that time again and they had their period of being while me outs and then they were reconciled and they really wanted to do a project together they did want to do this together yes because she doesn't have any scenes with him.

"What he's just sitting in her house that they need to move to storage she's basically a tony stark suri yeah i kinda took it a shorthand for bruce wayne type of thing you know you don't question too much you know how bruce wayne is a billionaire they in some movies they give it he is some comic books they explain it but at the end of the day who cares the ideas of these rich enough to fund his adventures and technology met unlike bruce weighing she's not going to play along unbia lady you know she has his butler that brings are a modest white dress and we get a gratuitous shower theme because why not jolie as the hottest thing and movies and we want to ogle hurried so they get it out of the way early but she is not going to pretend to be anything other i think it's mentioned at one point she masquerades as a journalists but we see no evidence of that she is exactly who she claims to be an aussies yeah an angelina jolie was never one to shy away from nudity there was discussion of top frontal but they really had to get that pg thirteen man do they skirted that's a lot aside side boob i'm telling ya as much side boobs you can legally get would you believe there were actually fans of the game complaining that she was not in doubt enough to play laura croft apparently she is only a see carpet lara croft is supposed to be a double d cup and she's like you know i wanted her to be curvy they've padded me up to a d in this i think that's good i definitely feels like they ended the game should be happy that this is the reflection of the character of live action as far as this blot while i don't know of that nine planets ever really a line but i'm just gonna put it out there i am not looking for logic and for a sensible story line i understand it's going to be a series of holcomb and all i really ask of this movie is that they make it fun i know that when we get into this crazy backstory about five thousand years ago a triangle that magically controlled time is beyond absurd slap you in the face stupid.

"Y you giga let my pain here's the thing i you know i get it you're right we can now see a remake of raiders of the lost ark through the lens of a coin up is cool but why simon west he's certainly isn't spielberg or even george lucas he is the director of the most popular music video of all time he directed rick ashley's never going to give you up if you've ever been rick roll you know because i think he makes sense because of the films he did around that time and con air we need to review at some day but that is just glorious unabashed guilty pleasure of mine and i would see con air and say that guy can do some action i did see the general's daughter in theaters that is not an action film it was not exactly what i expected with matt damon as a heroin addict but khan error is all the credit you need honestly for the longest time i thought kani are was directed by michael bay it as that many explosions in that many gratuitous building demolitions that i didn't realize it was only produced by not directed by so coming off of that makes said said he's affordable here's what i would argue morgan however you feel about qatar i've never seen it and they're really wanted to you as an ad guy he is a large experience and making things look really good and if this video game company really wants to protect its property he is going to treat lara croft like the budweiser frogs which he also made so that's i think why you get a guy like simon west i'm just a little disturbed he's not credited but i was doing some reading the early drafts of this were written by brent v friedman who was accredited writer on mortal kombat annihilation again it's much like when i see that the guy who made doom was give it another video game movie the guy who wrote mortal kombat annihilation was allowed to make another movie oh come on this.

"Front of the casting agents she would have been a name and recognizable before but in two thousand when she won it was like well yeah gotta be her but then she went to the oscars with a brother so yeah and again if they are considering lara croft their mickey mouse they have to be a little bit concerned about the actress this private life and how it will reflect i think it reflects brilliantly on the character i think they are one in the same i think angelina jolie was lara croft when she was walking down the red carpet and yeah it just makes sense that she would wind up with the role stuart you've been wondering when we're going to cross a line where a game influences a movie and vice versa and i think up till now we haven't seen much of that even going back and forth but i get the feeling that this is gonna be the first time where we see a little bit a synergy going both ways with the game series animal movie series yeah i've said it before games have ripped off movies since the eighties they'd look at what movies they're hey night writers a hit tv show let's make night driver the arch tory gay and you know so they'd always ripped off this is as you say very indiana jones and now that we've gone full circle we have a game ripping off a movie now we have a movie based on that game so we're in romancing but stone territory i don't early no but i also think video games really started to influence movies in the nineties with cgi and we're coming two years after the may tricks not just digital effects but that entire bullet time video game feel of action the matrix was a big game that won don't forget wing commander pioneered that we're all get their unfortunately.

"Making the games back then they've since been bought and bought again as happened with game companies but they did say that lara croft was there mickey mouse if you wanna see something different about this tomb raider movie than some of the previous once they wanted complete veto control over every stage of this movie because they knew this was their money maker every year they were putting out a game now they did decrease in quality and eventually they just killed that golden goose but at this point it was still very much their bread and butter and so you had them looking at every script evei were involved in casting absolutely every piece of this they were there and looking at how does this reflect our game are they doing the moves from our game are they doing the iconography from the game one thing that they insisted on angelina jolie had to wear those short short she didn't wanna wear the short shorts they ended up doing it for just a scene but she had to wear the shore shorts to me in that outfits absolutely i mean boy if there's one revolutionary thing i mean if you wanna talk about the synthesis of the movie world and the video game world the idea that they got her i mean i don't know where the actress ends and the character begins but they are symbiotic i mean there they take things i think from jolis personal myth those that she sleeps with knives that she has this fight with her father that she adopts children from cambodia all those things are like seamlessly sucked into this lara croft character only half of that was happening back when she became lara croft the kids from cambodia actually came out of this movie they filmed in cambodia and she's like oh look at all the kids and should collect them i kinda wondered that but the sleeping with knives according to i am deby trivia take it with a grain of salt she had to do regular drug testing because she was doing a lot of her own stunts she was with billy bob the rumors of the druguse and everything else the play.

"In ninety six i was graphics knob so there was no way i could be hot for poly gone come on your days think thing here we're talking about the symbiosis between movies in games it's in the title right raider what china will the 80s wouldn't want to be indiana jones i mean the are obviously cribbing from one of the most popular movies from our childhood and now they have the graphics we can actually play i mean when atari 2600 put out raiders have lost arc it was a disaster but finally ten years later they could make a game that was worthy a comparisons to raiders of the lost ark and indiana jones yeah i think one of the big things that we're seeing years because of this time jumper experiencing is that this is the first game that we're experiencing that i think might have been story boarded the some degree in at least workshop somebody sat down and developed the idea of a character and what they're going to be doing any movie in game we've done before this i feel like it was flying by the sea their pants and cut a making a go oh as they were going yeah i mean in streetfighter it was very hodge podge schenn mario didn't really have a story and yes this one the very first one had cut scenes i think the definition of when movies influence games as when cut scenes came into play that haven't even back in the nintendo but here you have the full motion ones and their scenes where plot developments happened and then you take control of the character again the developers claim that they knew they wanted to raider but they didn't think they were going indiana jones at first it wasn't until they were deep into the game that they decided to do it and lara croft was going to be a man they wanted to do it where you could pick your character you could play as a guy plays a girl remember you did that in resident evil it was the thing to do and they realized hey if we do that we have to make double the cut scenes do double the voice work so we're just going to do one they decided to keep the woman because according to the developer.
