"Minutes away from talking to four again. Head coach mario cristobal coming off the biggest win of his career even before he's able to celebrate. His name is linked to the southern cal job. I'm sure that's one topic. He would rather not talk about tonight. We will look now migrants. Who is always welcome to talk about any linked to any big time jobs griff or seemed like are we be talking to you for many. You're covering the dogs back under contract. Ajc doug nation. Paul thank you yeah. I read about that recently in some somewhere that you just read up to. I know you can't discuss the terms. But congratulations yeah. I guess the sitcoms going to have to wait. Now you're now. You're hitting close to home mike okay. Let's talk to the. Let's talk about this game this weekend. I don't know you probably were too busy listening to this program. But but south carolina fans have taken something away from two years ago and they think they can come in there and do it again i. I don't know many people that agree with that. So lay it all for us First of all. What's the quarterback situation on the dog side. Yeah i don't know kirby's kind of tricky you know last week you know everybody asks me cart you have carson beck was number two. He said yeah he's number two. What he didn't tell us was his debts and bennett was number. One in kirby kirby games a lot going to just depend on the shape of jt. Daniels i mean. Jt's the guy. Even those steps in bennett was was really remarkable. Titus school record with five touchdowns in the first half. I mean they really could escort one hundred points if they wanted to on. Uab last week it was. it was quite the route. Ap's coaching You know it's conference. Usa level coaching for all the kind words they were out scheme terribly There were three plays past plays that netted over two hundred ten yards. I mean that's shouldn't have. I mean fully once fool twice three times heck is forget it. It didn't matter but but if jt is healthy enough to be throwing the ball all way downfield and they feel like that strained. Oblique can't get reinjured. They go with them. But i just don't know if you take any sort of chance Put jt daniels. Because the one thing that south carolina can do well is get after it with that defensive line. That's the one thing they can do. Well and and one of the weaknesses for georgia's still remains the offensive line still somewhat suspect even with all those four and five stars and matt luke out there. Coaching them up They weren't really able to knock people off the ball in the game at like you would have expected from georgia team against clemson. We saw him kind of struggle. The first three quarters. So i i think if you're kirby smart why not be careful with. Jt daniels look at the sec. It's a long season paul. you gotta get. It's like talladega down there in alabama right. You've got to make it to the final lap to win the race. So why take any chances with your quarterback these not one hundred percent and you've got a very capable backup and a guy likes that's bennett. Who was ten of twelve for two hundred eighty eight yards and five touchdowns in any young guy and carson back that you want to get some work to so i think the game may dictate a little bit but also how does jt practice. And that's something we don't know to. You're essentially saying georgia doesn't need. Jt daniel to be south carolina. That's what i'm saying. Yes sir i. You can pick any other quarterback in the sec. Input behind centered. They'd be you got to score the win in the georgia defence. Pau i mean they really are remarkable. The front seven is i mean. These guys are unbelievable. I haven't seen a defensive front like this in a long time. Now they're suspect at the corners. It's way too early to to make projections about what will happen when they play alabama in the sec championship game. Different positions have to grow and mature but this defensive front is so dominant. It's such mismatch against the south carolina offensive line south carolina. They really don't have any kind of hope. Okay at least at least they can get mad at a few more people. A matt berry was earlier. Said something similar now. You said it and they can quit Coming after me. Let let me talk about just what. You're sensing from this georgia team overall. Because i was surprised by last week. I agree with you i. I didn't see much of the game. Because there's there's only so much of a rally you can. You can consume as someone trying to to watch your games but do you feel how or how much better do you feel or do you feel really good about this team. I have you felt really good about team all along the same. I mean it's it's you know it's the same. I mean probably a little better. I see how well stetson bennett performance as a backup you. So how much air he got under the ball. You know one of the problems with steps and bennett. Last year paul was. He couldn't throw the ball deep actively. And you know he's gone to school. He's been working out with jt daniels. He sees the way the deep ballesta to put some air under get those and he was incredibly successful so to me. One of the questions is you know. Who's your number two right. We we've seen alabama pull that card a few times against georgia. Do you have a good enough and capable enough backup if something were to happen and you know again. The sec's brutal is we're not talking about the acc. You know you'll play anybody. You're the big ten in the pack. We're not talking a big twelve. We're not talking about those leagues. We're talking about a league where we can week out. You've got nfl players coming out. I gotta look do is look at the draft numbers all these teams have. Nfl prospects. they can they can accu down. They can hurt. It's a battle every week. And and it's largely a war of attrition right. it's hard to predict what's going to happen in in december because we don't know who's going to survive the season for these teams. I mean my goodness look at all. The injuries georgia had last year by the time they played florida. They were misinformed defensive starters and then they get their quarterback knocked out with fourteen zero lead over florida and florida's suddenly they're all this revisionist histories come up this week. Like they were clear and above the best team. Last i'm kuwait. Everybody not remember what happened last year. Everybody got amnesia but talked about like florida. Like they were just ed shoulder. Come on you know. that'd be an interesting game down there and swamp. Well i want to get to the because a lot of confidence from from the gators. We're here we hear it You know the swamp all the things that really don't matter very much In terms of matchups. But how would you assess this game saturday afternoon. Well kind of one of those guys. That says i gotta see it to believe and dan mullen is oh intent against alabama so another some people out there. They're talking about. What a remarkable job. he's done. Turn the program around you know. Coach mullen told everyone they're coming off a great season at eight and four campaign. We talked about that from. Sec media days eight four now qualifies as a great season for florida. So maybe they'll have a great performance. Stay within three touchdowns but you know. They lost a key. Everybody wants to talk about molin and quarterbacks.

"In leading. We were onset getting ready. Doing halftime of the byu utah game. Get ready to do that. We're we're get ready for college. Football final in our producer in our ear. And he's like you guys are never going to be what happened. We had the tv on joey. Jesse and the tv's in the monitors and he says to us this executive says to us or watch the replay. He says jacksonville state. Just beat florida state on a hail. Mary and so. We're already entertained by her. Watch the replay. I've never seen gallo at this time of night. Be so animated in my life when he said that wasn't the last player like what are you talking about it. Because that wasn't a hail. Mary was well no no. It wasn't a hail mary. He could not believe that in fact it wasn't it was a normal play with florida state man to man coverage in the final. Play the game getting beat and not being able to tackle a receiver from jacksonville state to end a game. No you're right and by the way couple years ago jack state almost beat. Fsu and they. I think they lost it on last split-second kick or something and you know jacksonville. State has got a good football reputation. But i'm not building up. I'm just saying that you cannot take any and it's one thing not to take a school like that seriously at the beginning of the game. But you're down to the final play. Maybe show some intensity as it looked like flag football. Yeah let me just reach out and you get within three inches guy. But they deserve to lose. And i. It's just one more black mark against The acc and we. I just monday afternoon on our show. At all i heard from. Fsu fans man. The spirit of bobby. Don't watch out for us clemson better. Yeah no no. None of us need to watch out for you anymore. Yeah and if you peel that back a little deeper. I thought just pure effort wise. What florida state deal with. Notre dame was great k. Look good for them but if you started peeling back some of the layers of decisions that were made in that game and you really really really paid attention new questioned mike norville going for fourth down so early in that game which ended up being the difference. You questioned him doing that Review that ended up icing his own kicker who ended up missing the field goal that ended up being the difference so while there is a positive body of work to go off of you saw decisions in gaming. It's notre dame moore bell made you take pause and then all of the season sudden you see what happened. Last night i was. I was trying to the last time we team. That was such a feel good story waking up on sunday morning. And you're like you know what this is worse than we actually thought there are. There are a lot of major upsets in college football history. Where the next week. The team blows it but they usually don't blow it to jacksonville state so that another black guy for the acc. When you had an opportunity to to to make that palate taste a little better. After week one pin goes into your alma mater. Tennessean gets a win a four hour game. It was fun to watch it with no tainting to watch. I don't think there's any argument that ended. Hooker needs to be the quarterback at tennessee. Moving forward and i saw joe milton. Look joe milk to create a player. If i was going to create an athlete on a video game. I'd make him look like joe milton. He just can't connect with a wide receiver. He overthrows just about everybody. Yeah that was as you look not to spend much more time this season on tennessee but it but as you look at their schedule This was the most important game On the schedule because it was really the only way they get to being bowl eligible Because they're not going to be. Florida georgia alabama. Just go right down. The list of of of kentucky probably So so this was their mom and they let it get away in a game. They should want and honored. Johnny majors and johnny majors won national championship at pitt and he got fired at tennessee. Figure that one out for yourself. Yeah it was one of those big. It was a. It was a weeks later games. And we had to find one or two that would entertain us and that was one of them in one of those teams in the in the. Acc that keep an eye on because they've got a really good nfl quarterback and pick it. Seems like he's been there for a decade. But we're we're trying to get the point of the season. Paul through two weeks Trying to find a team here in a team there who can make things difficult for one of these ranks teams. I dunno kit it. Maybe i thought. Nc state was going to be it and then they go to starkville and just get their teeth kicked in that has to be one of the most disappointing losses on the board. Because that's a team that the acc acolytes were trying to make all of us believe was was legit and then you know they. They got run by team that that needed a field goal the previous week to be what it was that louisiana. One of louisiana's louisiana tech. I'm sorry there's so many down there So i really gave him. Mississippi state life which You know they have lsu coming in two weeks or they're they're they're they're playing but then you know nc state. You can't take them too seriously anymore. And again i genuinely feel badly for jim phillips a new commissioner of the acc to be wondering what he got himself into. When you look at. And i'm not going to get into miami. They were celebrating beating appalachian state like they had just done. Something is that grim as one of the most frustrating teams in america. I just cannot figure. Out how the state of florida if you really want to dive down this rabbit hole and i guess we will since we've already started looking at the premier programs in the state of florida miami with what they've got going on florida's state team look at the state of the state of those programs and poets. It sat with where florida state. Miami miami once again we bought into false streams with them and they just. I don't think it's a disastrous program. I think they're certainly ahead of wherever she was right now but it is a sad state and florida. Now is another story that is about to become center stage. Because the gators. Are you telling me Hosting the biggest game of the weekend such a good segue because we do get to that with florida. They got out of their game yesterday. They go. and now. It's florida alabama week. Alabama took care of mercer forty eight to fourteen barring health issues. Dan mullen has a very interesting decision to make a quarterback because based on what we saw from anthony richardson. Yesterday he came up. He was limited a little bit. After that touchdown run for the kid was three of three hundred fifty yards two touchdowns throwing four carries hundred fifteen yards and a touchdown rushing paul. It's no secret kids from gainesville. It's a good story. The offense just moves better with anthony. Richardson and now. I think dan mullen has to make a decision. Not only for this week against alabama but going forward for the rest of the series with the sec east. Yeah and everything. I'm telling you now is courtesy of tim. Tebow because of hurt him now two straight weeks in meetings talk about anthony. Richardson just think of tim. Tebow and in two thousand and six as the understudy. Chris league who helped win a national championship coming in situationally and tibo has been raving about him. But at this point you're right Does dan mullen. Make the call. And put him in this cauldron against against alabama. The one thing. I will say about alabama and i don't know the injury situation. They lost a key player last week anderson. They're all world player. Got banged up and he is questionable. That's a big deal. I mean he is. He's the best player on their defense. Which is saying something. And i i know the story in alabama has been saving going off and everyone is was complimenting..

My best is the food isn't as good and entertainment is not the same but trying what do you mean isn't Hudson providing new show every night now? I was really excited to work from home and see what Hudson doesn't the daytime. He doesn't nothing absolutely at least though. Because we're all zooming. All we have to do is put on a shirt and have our pajamas on the bottom. My right that's that's pretty much the Slo move version of what I wear. If I'm wearing like me dressed up for the day it's not. It's just in pajamas. Would everyday Yup Yup and all we're waiting for is to get back to cruising and that's why we're here. Hey so tell us. Let's just let's go back. What was your last cruise My loss cruise on the Norwegian spirit. My favorite cristobal time. Just before Christmas was decorated for Christmas it was was fantastic. Reading Ice Really missed that cruise ship. She had a massive refit. Just after I came off and I was hoping to get back on board But yeah that plans been delayed for now for a little bit just for a little bit. Oh well you. You produced a video Couple of days ago and and it's titled Nine Ways Your cruises will be changing after Kovic nineteen and we thought that it was just so timely and so informative. We decided to have you on our show to share with us. Some of the things that you have discovered here. Can you tell us? Where did you find? These proposed changes coming to cruising a case. So there's there's a company who genting Hong Kong who owns three different cruise lines They own stalkers crystal cruises on dream cruises. I'm not sure how much you guys know about them because they mostly in hr but they came out with. You're familiar with crystal crystals pretty much. When I know dream all they did have something to do with Norwegian for awhile so the ships are pretty much. I think of them as being the Asian versions of the Norwegian cruise ships. If you look at them you would think that they were Norwegian cruise ships but then but they release these guidelines. That said. This is what we're GONNA do when we get back to cruising and it goes through everything from cleaning how they're going to change on the buffets in the main dining rooms how they gonna Change. They're expecting changing the way people book things And I think that the first cruise line. That's come out with this. They're not going to be the last one. They all based in Asia so when Corona virus hit they one of the first ones that were affected. We didn't really hear too much about it at least in the UK but they did have positive cases on board one of the cruise ships so they were quite badly affected. I kind of I think they just the forefront with these guidelines everything. They've said I think makes perfect sense to me and it's kind of just an extension of what they already do. I hope the day GonNa do some of these things anyway. even if it wasn't in this situation some of the things like they want to remove service buffets and have other people serving you. I'm quite happy for them to do that anyway. I wish that they did that from the beginning. Wow Wow so before we start all of these. Can you go down the list of what are the ways? And then we're going to go back and talk about them. I've got my. My list is much more than nine now. Await breaking news breaking news. You're on the cruise dudes podcasts. And so the things that are going to happen. Some of them are. I think there's more than nine because I've said I think a few things as well join my. I think so just as I said. Let's go for the time. And they were going to go for the Emma. I think's I so ankle fitness to travel certificates for anyone. Who's over seventy Norwegian did do that for for? Why didn't they before they come with us? And they gonNA carry on with that in the future. I think I think that they're going to ask for three of travel insurance for pretty much. Everybody I think that makes makes sense. It's perfect yes. Yes very good sense so Actual proof that you just you just have to show it. I've been on cruises before. They also might travel insurance information so some cruise lines probably already do this. They've talked about doing heat scams on people when they embark unnatural. How this is GonNa work in reality because some some people might just have a hot flush. Some people won't have a fever with they do have the current virus so this this may change but they all talking about having scans when people doing balk. When I took a cruise in Japan. They made us all get off and they scanned all of us in a little stock on which at the time I thought was very very strange about year and a half But the they do already have away to you know. He'd scam evolves amount of people in this saying they're gonNa do that when they embark. They also might tryin. Stagger embarkation. Because at the moment you can get a lot of people. Can't you just line up and get on board so they might make people stick to those times when they say you have to get one at certain time and I'm supposed to pull it out. I have to admit I want to get onto soon as I can. But that may become an actual. They have said that. They they getting rid of the self service buffets. So I'm sure they'll still have some of buffet but they're just going to have Someone serving it to you which I would like that. Anyway is just a question of more staffing. Isn't it. So yeah but the they have said that they're not GonNa do soap service anymore. They've said they're GONNA put Disposable cutlery for people who don't have disposable cutlery which I think seems quite quite. Extreme doesn't it. Cutlery should be clean. You would hope but Exact if people requested they said that they're going to have disposable cutlery viable which I don't think has ever happened before I've never tried but I don't think that's happened
Herbert has 3 TD runs, Oregon beats Wisconsin in Rose Bowl
"Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert ran for three touchdowns as the ducks nipped Wisconsin twenty eight twenty seven in the Rose Bowl game it was Herbert's thirty yard mad dash to the end zone midway through the fourth quarter that provided the winning score and high praise from his head coach Mario Cristobal the bridge in so many different ways and you see the you see like to see the army sea of decision making we don't see the leadership in the heart and in the end that was the biggest difference my opinion it's the ducks fourth rose bowl win in school history Wisconsin quarterback Jack cone threw a touchdown pass but there for turnovers proved too much for the badgers to overcome mark Myers Pasadena California
600 gallons of oil spills off the Galápagos Islands
"Maybe you didn't hear about the oil spill took place off the Galapagos islands officials say crews responding to a six hundred gallon oil spill after barge overturned and this is near San Cristobal have you ever been there Jennifer San Cristobal be one of the beautiful areas and that's what gets people worked up about this the this is off the coast of Ecuador South America and the because these areas are so clean now is so when you compare I saw something as a yesterday I think it was yesterday looking at an article about how we're trying to stop pollution and at the you know how the LA river flows into the ocean here I laid there examples of that all all over the country you know of both sides and down the Gulf and so it's in the areas where the spill off runs into the ocean they have installed basically socks they have these huge is the water comes down and goes through three or four probably four four pipes on the other end of the pipe they've installed these huge socks they collect the debris that comes out of a river I had coffee filter yeah and I thought it was pretty practical actually I know I seven think about earlier it's with a lot of common sense involved in it in in capturing all these things that we're worried about rightfully so and that's the other thing walking around the taking daisy for a walk here this the neighborhood where I am which is a pretty well to do area I still am appalled by the amount of rubbish on the
Ohio State Passes Its First Test of the Season by Beating Penn State
"For the first time this year Ohio state was truly tested looking like the game was getting out of hand Penn state scored fourteen points in just twenty five seconds to bring some tension to Columbus ultimately the Buckeyes remained unbeaten but for one of the only times all year Brian day saw how his team handled adversity that was the first time I've really felt well I mean here's a little bit Wisconsin game but that we were we were real right there and now we had a response back from against the wall so we did to win a game like that that was not clean shows the toughest that we have because you know you walk out of that game a good one a lot bigger than that Ohio State survived a test at home while organ failed there is on the road the ducks went to Tempe and got knocked out of the playoff picture after a thirty one twenty eight lost Arizona state and after the game Mario Cristobal says his team just wasn't at its best and in November that will prove costly throwing out our best fight we certainly never
2 Venezuelan Civilians Killed in Clash with Security Forces on Border
"News Venezuela, looks like it's about to burst into whatever is left. Whatever is left of Venezuela's about to burst into flames. According to the Washington Post to our dead after Venezuelan soldiers opened fire on opposition supporters in San Cristobal Venezuela, Venezuelan soldiers opened fire on a group of civilians attempting to keep open segments of the southern border with Brazil for deliveries of humanitarian aid causing multiple injuries. "I will say this the Bill the way he was able to help raise money for the university. I think was make will make his tire like you can never say, you know, in the next two years. They are don't make the top twenty five. I don't think you could you could you know, kinda rip his higher just because the way he was able to help raise money in generate facilities. Why is Mark richt at a huge role in that in a way that most coaches usually do not in a situation like that? Now having said all that some of the decisions on offense have just been really underwhelming. And like I said, it's just sputtered. And I don't know this is a team that had a top ten class last year. But now, I don't think they're going to have a top thirty five class in considering when this year started out you were a top ten. And program as you mentioned. I mean, they blew Notre Dame off the field last year. Now, they finish great. But I think some of that has to do with, you know, they've lost so much momentum's that I don't think it bodes well for the future. And I don't I'm just giving an honest answer. I I didn't quite go in this direction. But I think the reeling, and I don't I don't see him getting it back in a positive direction where they're going to be back in the top ten. I just don't see it. Yeah. I'm with you. And I'm a big Mark fan. And I wanted to believe that this just kind of a perfect marriage of guy at the right stage of his career and a program that was looking to get back to relevance. But the last twelve months, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong in particular, you know, when you think of Mark Brooks tenure Georgia. He has so many great quarterbacks. He was the quarterback bureau if you will when it finally went bad at the end was pretty much the one time like when the guy from Virginia Grayson Lambert was starting quarterback for them. It was not when things really turned south. And he still hasn't had that guy at Miami. He kind of flipped back and forth all year between Rozier and Perry and knew them really you great reason for confidence by the end of the year so tired, it's hard to come back for that. Now, he's not going to get fired or anything. But I think that the fan base goes into twenty nine thousand nine feeling pretty pretty down about things. Yeah. I mean, look again, the the thing that most people can hang their hat on usually is the optimism of recruiting. And that's not the case here moving on. I'll tell you what a couple of things that did catch my eye today in in other places. Now, we mentioned the and and the success it had Oregon again, here's another Nick Sabin protege. Mario Cristobal took some of that model and the energy and the recruiting connections. He has and he's got a top five class common. And they crushed it in southern California in a way that Oregon which has gotten some really good players in the past. I mean, it's not like they hadn't had, you know, the Anthony Thomas or or some of those guys like that. They've had some big time guys over the years, but nothing to the great of this kind of run on a four and five five star guys. And now we're joined by Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal zoo finished today with a top five recruiting class mareo. Welcome to the audible. Yes. So you've always had a big reputation as a recruiter, especially from your days at Miami..
"cristobal" Discussed on The Audible with Feldman And Mandel
"Welcome back to the latest edition of the audible, I am Reuss Feldman. Joined as often as the case by my colleague, Stuart Mandell. And we have an interesting podcast is signing day. And we were going to have a guy who had a huge day today. And that's Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal. Who's who's duck signed a top five class, which is unprecedented up in Eugene, we'll get to him in a little bit. But before we do stoop, some interesting things have shaken out. I'm just curious as to how far down the rabbit hole. Did you get with recruiting coverage at this point? I have to admit, you know, while I am a proponent of the early period. I have not quite adapted to it myself. I I miss having all January wants to the season was over, and I had a little bit more time to fully immerse myself in all the names, I need to know for the class that was science February. Now, you look up, and whoa, they've all. Three quarters of them have already signed as of today. But you know, I'm following what's going on. It seems to me tell me if you agree that when our time covering the sport. There's just been like various phases of will. Now, Pete Carroll's the hot recruiter in now or Mack Brown. And now Pete Carroll then urban Meyer, and then Nick Sabin Nick savings, obviously been that for a long time now, but once again while is going to sign the number on class. We are seeing Kirby smart. They're not going away Georgia continues to to be right at Alabama's level. Now when it comes to recruiting. Yeah. I think the biggest thing you would look at is the dominance of the SEC, which is more will be hurt. But as far as to four sevens rankings, the top four teams are all SEC teams and three of them goes Alabama than Georgia. And then am followed by L shoe. The top three are all the other two guys Nick Sabin proteges. I was Kirby smart as you mentioned in the JIMBO Fisher what he's done in college station. So. You have you know, big time ramped up aggressive recruiting operations, and they closed with flourish which they've done again. And I think one thing that's a little different probably this year. So from talking to folks in psychology ball last year was the first early signing period to some degree Alabama. Maybe was was kind of figuring out things last year in in this case this time, they got it down pretty good. And we're ramped up and ready to roll. We'll now they've lost some assistant coaches, but the machine just keeps moving on. They lost some of their top recruiters. And maybe that was felt a little bit last year when they slipped all the way to number five. But then he obviously went remade his staff, and it's no secret at the time that he was going younger. He was looking for great recruiters, and it has certainly paid off. Now, I would say the most noteworthy development in terms of where guys decided to go. I mean, let's be clear. Most of these guys that are signing here in December have been committed somewhere for a long time. But we did have a few surprises and most notably. Of fairly stunning development in terms of quarterback situation with Georgia and Ohio State. Right. So doin math issues. Michigan kid who would actually decommitted a few times in the process really long six five six six kid with a basketball background had been committed to Ohio State. I think since June on signing day, he did a flip and Ohio State had lost a couple of guys. He was the one that I would say was kind the head-turner in this process. So talking to somebody inside the Georgia program. And I said who or what was the key in flipping him?.

"I'm not expecting a big letdown after Georgia because they hear the doubt every single week about their coach, and it drives them insane. I think LSU is not going to have a let down here. Herbie expect him to come in firing on all cylinders. What do you got? Well, I think one of the, you're right. We just talked about that with Mario Cristobal teams. It's one thing, oh my gosh, they got Georgia and they got a buy week next week, and then it's a big one, Alabama. It's like, this is this test. This will test maturity because it's not quite getting the same hype. I'm with you. LSU's been playing with a chip on their shoulder, but will they play that same chip when everyone's expecting them to take care of business against Mississippi State? I will say this all they have to do if I'm Ed order on. I thought the film from last year thirty seven to seven. They got embarrassed over it starkville so that that might help them find that intensity that they need to get through this week before the bye week before to an Alabama and all that talk starts up. So I think it's a low scoring game. Keeping my Mississippi State leads the nation in scoring defense. They got a defense that can fly around very athletic in the front defending the past. Well, we know LSU doesn't typically just beat you with a, you're not going to be an all their offense. It's more about their defense, keeping them in the game. And then Joe borough and company doing enough on offense to make enough plays to win a game. It might be that recipe again because Mississippi state's defense. I think it's a low scoring game. I think LSU's going to win it at home, but I think it's a low scoring. I'm talking like a twenty to thirteen kind of game, but I don't think Mississippi State throws the ball well enough against that defense. You can't be one dimensional against Evan white and that and that secondary and think that that's going to be good enough. So I don't think Mississippi State has the offense to beat LSU, especially in Baton Rouge. By the way. Remember you had Mississippi State outright last year. We had Charles Barkley on the podcast that we sent me if he was at some casino out in Vegas. He said herbs better be right. You were right, and he probably could. But anyway. Yeah, I never got that cut. Shocking how that happens. Amazing, isn't it? Four o'clock Pacific. We were just talking to the head coach of the Oregon ducks twelfth-ranked Oregon on the road college game. It's gonna be cannibalistic man at Pullman, Washington for the first time. I guess the twenty fifth ranked cougs cougs Kirk at three point favorite. I saw them in person if you weeks ago against USC, close game, tough loss for Washington, they bounced back garden issue the the quarterback at Washington state. He's got a little Baker Mayfield to him a warm-ups, Kirk, he's got the porn stash no-shirt bandanna tight pants on and comes out skinless, right? I mean, no shirt shirtless. One woman up on like that. That's a that's a Baker Mayfield type attitude right there. Now I don't know the shirtless that's that's going to hold it for level there. Into stash, right? I mean, yeah, he's got an attitude about him. I liked this cat and I wouldn't be surprised, but cougs Kirk may find a way only because also Vegas has a three point favorite here. Wow. How about how Vegas? No one this stuff. I mean, those guys I don't get. I don't know. I watched. I can't tell you how many games I watch Saturday and almost every game I'm sitting there and I'll spare. What was the point spread in this game? He'll be like six at half and it's like sitting at seven. I'm like, how do they know that? I'm with you familiar? It's blows me away, but you're right, Oregon, Washington state game days. There were fired up. We can't wait to get there. Can't wait to see the scene. It's going to be electric atmosphere. It would be whether we're there or not. It just has to do with their fans were excited about their team..

"Slash Kirk Herbie. Let's welcome in the head coach of a twelfth, ranked Oregon ducks. They're at Pullman, Washington against the twenty fifth ranked Cougars game day will be there. It's going to be an unbelievable scene was bringing their head coach Herbie right now. Mario Cristobal just for fans out there just to kind of give them some of the background. Of course, you played back with the Miami hurricanes when Miami was really just the Miami hurricanes. You've seen the thirty for thirty. As on Miami, you're part of those teams around that kind of culture. We're head coach yourself it FIU and had some success there. You worked with Nick Sabin for for a handful of years there in Tuscaloosa in the middle of this dynasty that he's been able to put together. You went out with Willie out to Eugene and Willie decides after year to go to Florida state your name, the interim just for brief moment and then the head coach. 'cause you guys got ready for your bowl game last year, and now it's your the rains in your hands, and you're obviously taking full advantage of that. Can you talk about for the fans that aren't familiar with what you're trying to create in Eugene? Because it's impressive people still think of Oregon. They still see the uniforms. They think of chip Kelly and the speed, and I know you're trying to hold onto that speed, but you're developing physicality in an attitude out there that maybe some people haven't seen it yet. This year aren't quite familiar with yes, or will Bill. Four years spent over and thoughts collusive. I mean, the first thing I did, it reminded me a lot of the competitive nature and spirit of the guys that we had at Miami. But the difference was the investment in the strength and condition department was unbelievable, and I got to witness first hand the off season program. The fourth quarter program is called directed conducted by, you know, Scott Cochran and his guys got a great friend and I, it was a game changer for me instantly. The moment I saw it I, I wanted to learn everything about it every detail because it changed body types of change. The way guys moved away. They could fend come out of their hips. They're balancing body control the way they can accelerate decelerating. It was I was blown away and I really thought that again, besides the the top five is signed. I believe that that off season program was the secret sauce to player development at the university of Alabama. So I, you know, I felt that was the most important piece that we had to get established right away in January. If we were going to, you know, make a Mark and make a push to be a contender in the pirate twelve, and we wanted to do it at the line of scrimmage. We wanted to invest heavily in powerful defensive and offers of linemen that could control a knockback the line of scrimmage to set the tone go along with all the, you know, the these explosive and fast and quick athletes that we have. My first reaction when you said that was the mentality that's the culture that's been created in Tuscaloosa is very different from what you would see your typical Pac twelve team in that conference is a little bit different. The perception is more finesse than bulk and power and strength. How did that go over? And I know players are going to buy into it, but how did that go over when you said, hey, this is kind of the direction we're going, and this is going to become one of our pillars. We're going to get stronger. We're going to be more physical than our Ponant like how. How did that go over with that team when you introduced that concept? The one thing we're really lucky that what we brought to the table was embraced pretty quickly, at least it wasn't a meeting, you know, we, we, we go out to our winter conditioning, grow Graham. And then as a cat odor spring practice, it was tremendous test because you could talk about the..

"As far as later on this podcast, we'll be talking about the games of this week and the, you know, you look at Mario Cristobal, you'll be on with us. We'll probably talk about the potential rankings that are gonna be coming out in a couple of weeks, and then there's plenty of time to get into that, but I think would what makes any of these shows fun. You know, if you watch game day for three hours, we don't sit there and hit you over the head with football, football, football. I mean, it's it's light hearted. It's enjoyable. It's laid back. It's just guys hanging out talking about football and talking about some other stuff along the way. You know. And I think that's that's being real, you know, I think tailgating tailgating by the ways. I'm glad you see. I've never had a chance to interact among the tailgaters. I mean, they look like they're having a hell of a time, but I, I've never really caught out there. I know you have family and friends down in Baton Rouge would probably brought you into that, but I guess I see I miss out on that. So you're, you're lucky man to be able to do that, but I live vicariously. I'd like to look out and watch those people. And when was the last one kids throwing Nerf footballs and I really miss that. I missed. I miss being able to take my boys, my wife and go over, hang out with Jorges over Ohio stays just just be, you know, be a fan like that would be that'd be fun time. Seriously. When was the last time that you went and just before game you can you remember NFL. Well, what's going to college? Whatever. Not a one year. Since I've been doing this show when year Ohio State open like on a Thursday night against, I want to say Marshall. Remember a one it was. It was like week, zero owner, those kind of things. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It was before like my game day responsibilities and calling games and all that stuff responsibilities had started. So they, they opened up the season. I think it was the first game of the year. And so I got a chance to go over over by Saint John, where everybody parks, and you know, the kids were young and everybody's throwing a football around and. That is that is the life when you get to do that. I loved it along that when he's thought about it in you, you just thought about it like, did good man. Everybody's got to, you know, now that was a long time ago. Now everybody they got their direct TV's that guy, you know, the drinks and everybody's hanging out. I mean, it's no wonder anybody gets into the game. I don't know anybody leaves the tailgate seen anymore. In today's day and age. It's such a such. A cool thing that that people have set up and they go to a whole other level. But I other than that one experience I had I, I don't think maybe maybe middle school, probably middle school or early early part of highschool, maybe dude, that'd be a great bit a fitting. We know you know, you critique my performance on this particular podcast sink. We do as favorably doesn't get up this throwing it out there every now. And then when I see him on the sideline of. Game when a big game. And you've talked about the podcast. Beauty. Really, I tip my cap. I, I tell her about everybody that tailgates and I love that the moms had a lot of these places. They look at this as a badge of honor instead of I have to do it. They look at it like they get to do it, and they, they raise the bar and every single week. So I watch it. I see it. I just have never had a chance to the -sarily brought my sleeves and getting that three point. STAN participate Li every now and then just just one time let let her in the boys just kind of meander out, you know, maybe pre-tape, whatever, go experience a little the of the barbecue and everything else going on out there. Manny, you'll bring you listen to that, and I just heard that the Cy like, can you? You can taste it right now. Herbie thing. I love football on a serious note quickly. One of my favorite players coming into the season knick Bosa defensive end..
Gold mining is still big business for some
"We were trying to cover. Natural resources for some time. We used to cover a couple of gold companies just because we thought they were interesting and some oil and gas companies well, one of our producers Greg found a company because some of you viewers suggested that we take a look at a company called L A gold L K A gold is a public traded company on the stock symbol L KFI group picture, though, TV people L K A. Gold dot com is the is their website that mammoth lakes. Lake tahoe. There. Yeah. Well, someplace I wanna go joining us joining us here is the CEO of the company whose names KYW Abraham KYW gray tabby launch today, sir. How you doing? Skirt. The big question. Where's the picture? I want to go there that picture just south of Lake City. Colorado was taken from the six level of our golden wonder mine, and that's lake San Cristobal one of the few and largest natural lakes in Colorado. Elevation of the barrel. Eighty five hundred she said, can we send RV up there in a couple of? The afternoon. Like a great place to work. It's very popular this time of year tourists from Texas and Oklahoma the heat loved to go up to Lake City, Colorado, and there's golden them hill. Colorado. He can tell hey, asking you gotta have experience in oil and gas as well as as well as minerals all the way from the US to Africa, Indonesia, talk to us, why joined L K A Y, y you're so inserted here. Because as I look at this company, you guys are going places here, and I will tell you, you know, a guy that's off and on FOX business Robin in the Wall Street Journal. I take a very close look at these companies for them on the air. You guys got something going? You're the best kept secret around talking about your history and talk about the company. We started the company in eighty two when we found a very interesting gold deposit right above lake San Cristobal as you saw a new strain. It was a particular. It was a it was the kind of deposit the really got our attention because we're we were really as much gold miners as we are for lack of a better word treasure hunters. I love that. I love the fact that they're not gold miners. Their treasure hunters. For the rest of the world. There is that romantic sort of feel that you are treasure hunters. Well, when we when you look at a class of gold mining operation, they're big they move a lot of dirt. They've got very expensive and waves. Equipment. We're not interested in that. We were interested in going places where the majors wouldn't go to look at things at the majors didn't want to deal with or couldn't give me an example of that.
