"Grab the digital archives and enjoy the day in a show on the go through iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts. we have known who Donald Trump is for some time now we knew he was a corrupt businessman who cheated people we knew that his campaign invited foreign adversaries to tamper with our elections and now we know that in the course of his duties as our president is endangered us all by putting his personal and political interests ahead of the interests of the American people. I'm not one sliver of truth in that yeah I and obviously that's Hillary Clinton walking back to the show and in the last who is not Hillary Clinton happy Friday recovery. gonna we're gonna be over in a phone lines here very shortly she I well I thought I I thought that was most ironic that she will he's you know he's he's what is she is a danger to the country or something something like that self awareness level I'm really not sure what she's trying to get at here because he had a phone call with the president of Ukraine and look at their their wrong doing in there. I mean I definitely have a perspective when it comes to politics but you know I am too selfish and self infatuated to just drop my principles on the floor and just give behind somebody blindly I mean I don't know how else to put it so if there was something in this call that I thought you know what you tell the compromise yourself you compromise the entire administration diss you know then that's it it it it is what it is but there isn't I mean that's the thing is if you're gonna sit your promise someone massive amounts of shenanigans as it relates to impeachment then you better you better stop all up show less I am legend was expecting at least something just by the way that they were presenting this I was expecting show us something. maybe I I I wasn't inspecting full on impeachment. but and one of the reasons why because I assume that they had in their possession something that let them know about what was ever whatever was in this and as it turns out that suspicion was correct because we now learn that shift had this letter in his possession since August twelfth and he was tweeting surreptitiously. the user he was leaning a little bit of information from the complaint and sending it out there which brings me to question our own another point here I pull this up. show there were a lot of people who had you actually were and I'm gonna ask for a place about this coming up next hour who had said. you know it really does seem like this guy had a lot of assistance writing this because he did it at a particularly of legal assistance in fact some of some individuals and I've seen some legal analysts out there make the case that this leaker had actually. maybe perhaps had that members of the Judiciary Committee right it are the Intel committee writer rather. and and a man wouldn't be. and I wouldn't be shocked by it. but that that was one of the that was one of the accusations of coming out coming out because they said that someone who was in this particular position necessarily wouldn't have the information available to them to be able to draft this complaint in a particular manner. but and then there were all of the different errors in this and we've mentioned some to you yesterday for instance we mentioned how in the complaint they were that it was the leaker was alleging that on the call the president apparently had said that they were going to have you crane bring all these different servers from crowd striking again just to read really like to second recap crowd strike is the cyber security firm that was brought in by the DNC to investigate after their servers were legitimately hacked. but the thing and and what we talked about and why it was so weird to us is because they had issued any kind of FBI help the FE I wanted to do a forensics and a friend to convey it examination on the servers and they had stayed outright refused and they hired crowd strike which now is it comes out has very close ties to their party I'm not saying that that's indicative of anything but it is I just think it's interesting to keep on the table and they had crowds straight come over Crutcher never shared anything with the FBI so they were and they were saying that that trump wasn't concerned about the hack of their server which they used as evidence to further accuse him of being some sort of Putin pop it when in fact it was a week after what it was the week that that news came out he was on the campaign trail saying who is actually concerned about whether or not the election could be legitimate remember that because Hillary Clinton made a huge pitch about that she was out there saying he doesn't he's not even going to accept the results of the election if he loses and that's on Barack Obama came out and we play that audio and he'd legit just told trump to shut up and quit speculating to get out there campaigning that no one ever could could steal or break the election those were his words and we thought wow okay and then it just and then after the results of the election came in everyone was really it was those individuals who were saying trump wasn't going to abide by the results that they themselves were unable to abide by the results which brings us back to him mentioning crowd strikes to the most popular theory is that this is sort of a I think at I have a friend who is actually never Trumper. not been but it's another friend of mine and because they work in finance I'm not gonna say their name or sex out but they have a theory that it was a bait all along. and that. that's part of the headline it's out now trump's war with the intelligence community which typically never goes well for presidents I've said this for years I've been on here for ten years I've said this for ten years. and that knowing that it would get him the theory was a nine don't necessarily agree with this little bit of it but I think the theory overall is interesting my friend was saying I think he just beta them and what is far as he could and they were going to seize upon that as a way to use it and then he was going to use this to further flesh out his claims about deep state ands crab strike itself which actually almost everything seems plausible now because the whole story so strange right it's so strange and it is so unusual lease to us because it's unusual in a couple of different ways obviously because this is the United States of America and one of the things that keeps us so awesome is that we have a bloodless exchange of power every four or eight years and that's something that should be protected no matter how you how the results of the election turned out and whether or not you like it but were also seen how the sausage is made. everyone for the first time and and some of the sweet little innocent peer driven snow souls out there think that politics is exactly the way they see it on television when it is the dirtiest thing ever I think politics is dirty and prostitution because at least prostitutes are honest where as politics it is dirty dirty dirty even on the right it is dirty I've seen it all boy have I seen it. which is why you're make sure you are deals anyway. so the whole point of this is to say that people are not used to seeing. that at this level. and so now. it's just it's kind of overwhelming and we were sort of pushed out of your comfort zone in that respect anything can seem possible right. now I'll tell you this I don't think. I don't think that Joe Biden had enough power. to push. hi ed by himself maybe he could withhold aid. even then is that something that he could do by himself now think about this for a minute. if Joe Biden was if it if it is as it was which we know that the prosecutor was already on his way out before Biden said anything right number one number two we also know that hunter Biden never would have gotten after he got kicked out of the navy for snorting coke and being what you know all of this other stuff I mean the guy is is like beta or work without the court judge Daddy. he would have never gotten this fifty thousand dollars a year gig at this company with that is all about energy and he knows nothing about energy what were not for his dad's influence so that's not even arguable what is I think up for discussion is how much influence buying could have had with regards to using any kind of aid and holding them over the head of Ukraine because remember also the Obama administration wanted to investigate they wanted to vet slash investigate hunter Biden around two thousand and eight and Joe Biden was livid over at there's a great piece in The Washington free beacon about this yesterday that I cited and he was really upset over it and said absolutely not so it was dropped now do you remember also in there are reports there too many for me to bring up and and just and in terms of audio and play them here for you but about. a year ago you're a half ago. ABC did a report on. hunter Biden brazen holdings and whether or not that was going to create a problem for Joe Biden should he does it this was way before Joe was like even during his hat in the ring should he decide to run for office and then all of a sudden all discussion of this topic stopped. nobody's talking about anymore. so I think he has influence in terms of media but I don't know necessarily that he could sit here and and hold that over Ukraine's had and stop an investigation I do think. that he did use his influence to get his son that job I don't necessarily and and and we also to look at it like this you can't have it both ways you can't say the hunter Biden is so on qualified which he was and you should never have been in this fifty thousand I mean sorry a month they say year fifty thousand dollars a month job. at breeze my holdings he had no idea what he was doing he had no real huge successes in his own life on his personal life is a disaster. we can't simultaneously say that he was so stupid he sure wasn't qualified for the job and also he was so smart and dastardly that he was complete that he's implicated himself and this massive caressed corruption scheme of berries my holdings because Bristol hold me holdings got trouble with corruption because at for the way that they were handling the management of gas licenses drilling for gas licenses and all of that so they were all ready before he even came on and I think that the reason I brought him on now this is where it gets weird and this is where there is I think worthy of looking at they brought him on as a as an insurance policy. that's why they brought on hunter Biden there again targeted for corruption all of this was hitting about the same time that Russia was annexing Crimea Ukraine was matter Russia Ukraine wanted to stay in the United States is good graces make sure that they could get as much help as possible and they I mean so what he hunter Biden has always been their insurance policy right..

I have a friend who is actually never Trumper. not been but it's another friend of mine and because they work in finance I'm not gonna say their name or sex but they have a theory that it was a bait all along. and that. that's part of the headline it's out now trump's war with the intelligence community which typically never goes well for presidents I've said this for years I've been here for ten years I've said this for ten years. and that knowing that it would get him the theory was and I don't necessarily agree with this little bit of it but I think the theory overall is interesting my friend was saying I think you just beta them and what is far as he could and they were going to seize upon that as a way to use it and then he was going to use this to further flesh out his claims about deep state ands crab strike itself which actually almost everything seems plausible now because the whole story so strange right it's so strange and it is so unusual leased to us because it's unusual in a couple of different ways obviously because this is the United States of America and one of the things that keeps us so awesome is that we have a bloodless exchange of power every four or eight years and that's something that should be protected no matter how you how the results of the election turned out and whether or not you like it but were also seen how the sausage is made. everyone for the first time and and some of the sweet little innocent peer driven snow souls out there think that politics is exactly the way they see it on television when it is the dirtiest thing ever I think politics is dirty them prostitution because at least prostitutes are honest where as politics it is dirty dirty dirty even on the right it is dirty I've seen it all boy have I seen it. which is why you're make sure you are anyway. so. whole point of this is to say that people are not used to seeing. that at this level. and so now. it's just it's kind of overwhelming in when you were sort of pushed out of your comfort zone in that respect anything can seem possible right. now I'll tell you this I don't think. I don't think that Joe Biden had enough power. to push. hi ed by himself maybe he could withhold aid. even then is that something that he could do by himself now think about this for a minute. if Joe Biden was if it if it is as it was which we know that the prosecutor was already on his way out before Biden said anything right number one number two we also know that hunter Biden never would have gotten after he got kicked out of the navy for snorting coke and being what you know all of this other stuff I mean the guy is is like beta or work without the court judge Daddy. he would have never gotten this fifty thousand dollar a year gig at this company with that is all about energy and he knows nothing about energy what were not for his dad's influence so that's not even arguable what is I think up for discussion is how much influence buying could have had with regards to using any kind of aid and holding that over the head of Ukraine because remember also the Obama administration wanted to investigate they wanted the vet slash investigate hunter Biden around two thousand and eight and Joe Biden was livid over it there was a great piece in The Washington free beacon about this yesterday that I cited and he was really upset over it and said absolutely not so it was dropped now do you remember also in there are reports there too many for me to bring up and and just and in terms of audio and play them here for you but about. a year ago you're a half ago. ABC did a report on. hunter Biden brazen holdings and whether or not that was going to create a problem for Joe Biden should he does it this was way before Joe was like even burn is happening should he decide to run for office and then all of a sudden all discussion of this topic stop. nobody's talking about anymore. so I think he has influence in terms of media but I don't know necessarily that he could sit here and and hold that over Ukraine's had and stop an investigation I do think. he did use his influence to get his son that job I don't necessarily and and and we also have to look at it like this you can't have it both ways you can't set a hunter Biden is so on qualified which he was and you should never have been in this fifty thousand I mean sorry a month they say year fifty thousand dollars a month job. at breeze moldings he had no idea what he was doing he had no real huge successes in his own life on his personal life is a disaster. we can't simultaneously say that he was so stupid he should wasn't qualified for the job and also he was so smart and dastardly that he was complete that he is implicated himself and this massive caressed corruption scheme of berries my holdings because Bristol hold me holdings got trouble with corruption because at for the way that they were handling the management of gas licenses drilling for gas licenses and all of that so they were all ready before he even came on and I think that the reason I brought him on now this is where it gets weird and this is where there is I think worthy of looking at they brought him on as a as an insurance policy. that's why they brought on hunter Biden there again targeted for corruption all of this was hitting about the same time that Russia was annexing Crimea Ukraine was matter Russia Ukraine wanted to stay in the United States is good graces and make sure that they could get as much help as possible.

"If you can provide any additional information on that given that we're now about thirteen months for a presidential election this is going to be injected with the democratic campaign and probably for a nominee right the speaker has made clear that this is going to move expeditiously she indicated that and her conversations with house Democrats at the caucus meeting and she indicated that publicly she is also made clear that we are going to follow the fax be guided by the law and informed by our constitutional responsibility. we're going to do it comprehensively we're going to do it fairly we're gonna do it expeditiously our next November. I think the expectation is that we're going to do it fairly we're gonna do it comprehensively I'm going to do it expeditiously I would just add that the the time line has been set forth by the whistle blower and that's urgent. that's what they said that's the finding urgent incredible and that's going to be our time line. a repair she's been radio programming from one. as a speaker is talked about letting the facts lead this investigation she's also said that public sentiment needs to be there and I wondered if you feel that the public has come around on impeachment now more than two thirds of your caucuses in support of an impeachment inquiry of what do you think this is going to fall in our impact your prospects and twenty twenty bottom line is we need to present the truth to the American people without fear or favor this has nothing to do with the political implications we have a constitutional responsibility to deal with a matter of urgent national security concerns. and we need to present this information to the American people. thank them along with us based on the facts and the evidence. we've already seen. damning admissions made by the president over the last few days and confirmed by the transcript that was released today. we'll see what is in the whistle blower complaint we also know that we have to get to the bottom of. the second issue here which is the withholding of duly authorized. allocated money hundreds of millions of dollars. in security and military assistance from. Ukraine. perhaps as a coal serve way of extracting. the witch hunt any investigation president trump wanted the Ukrainian president and government to undertake understand the vulnerability and seriousness of that. the president didn't put American foreign policy first Ukraine is an ally we passed the military and security assistance in a bipartisan way the president apparently held that up. while Ukraine is at war with Russia our enemy who invaded Crimea. Ukraine is on the front line. of rush's attempt. to reshape Europe in a manner that undermines United States interests. yeah apparently the president was willing to withhold military assistance in order to extract a political investigation designed to get dirt on the Biden family to bolster Donald trumps electoral prospects that is classic abuse of power..

And in the world of computing, the mid eighties was significant for another reason. It was the high watermark for women in America signing up to study computer science, but why? Steve Jobs was right. Technology showed us, our future. But where did all the women go? You're listening to the BBC World Service. I'm Sandra council. And this is the why factor. in a photograph posted online recently a group of prominent technology entre preneurs smiled as they gathered at an event in italy in the picture they were fifteen men and two women but it turned out that the women weren't just outnumbered they weren't really there they were added to the picture later by photoshop sounds about right for the tech industry someone tweeted computer science is young field and its beginnings of filled with the accomplishments of women so why are they being driven away from a profession they helped create and the more time just awesome william cooled the computers if you say hidden figures lot of revolted in the calculations for the rook it and so on those women went on to be leaders in the computing industry and so did this woman dame wendy hall she's the regis professor of computer science at southampton university in the u._k. and in two thousand six was one of the founding directors of the web science research initiative with among others tim burners lee architect of the worldwide web in the seventies and eighties many women leading i._t. departments in industry that wasn't uncommon tool but will in the mid eighties personal computers came out in the you okay that's where i saw it i nobody understood why they would need a computer there was no internet ton of web nobody had connections in a home so very few people book computers for the homes so up sales they were marketed as toys for the boys to fathers too so this had to do things on computers and we have never escaped that culture confusing -pletely new subject we manage to successfully turn fifty percent of the population of studying it when it was just beginning to emerge as a discipline in its own right these are the very earliest days computer science so what do we have to do in the west to get more women to enroll in computer science courses well if we knew we done it but that isn't to say the institutions around the world aren't trying here at imperial college in london they run a variety of programs to attract school age children especially girls to stem subjects science technology engineering math but even with the extra effort for the last three years women made up fewer than a quarter of the students on the computer science course i'm nina studying computing that can hi i'm julie i'm also a second year competing hi i'm ellie i'm in my second year i india i'm second year studying joint massive computer science to get this far students have proven they have both the aptitude and the enthusiasm to succeed on such a demanding course but does being in such a small cohort feel like one more challenge to face by the time you get to doing competing degree you pretty much live through school like i was the only girl in my competing close it was the same in my physics close it's a problem across pretty much all of stem but it's just more pronounced in competing because a lot of parents in thirty to expose computing to the female children and you go to find a way to get yourself into it what do you think it will take to make people think women in computer science that's the modern woman who i'm thinking is worth noting that i've never played a game for example and i think that's the stereotype when you think the competing seasons i think it's mainly just about breaking stereotypes about who compete scientists actually is there is an interesting study that showed that eighty percent of college freshmen have no idea what computer scientist is or does dr barber ericsson is a professor at the school of information at the university of michigan with a special interest in computing education why women have put off studying this branch of technology is a complicated question to answer but then so is the question what is a computer scientist let's part of our problem too when i worked with high school teachers they often were surprised to find out how many things were involved in computer science they have this very narrow view that it's just programming and it's just really boring and antisocial and mail and too much math i mean most people think of you know the map well i think that's part of the issue so there's some factors i think for getting more women at computing engagement so unfortunately a lot of the computing curriculum is rather outdated and boring to women especially so when we i think universities can increase women is to create new degrees in new fields my human centered computing p._h._d. which is computer science plus psychology sociology was majority Email. here at u._c._l._a. we have a computer science department but we also have computational linguistics and statistics and data science so i wonder if part of what we're seeing is women moving into allied disciplines mary impose ner teaches information studies and digital humanities at u._c._l._a. in los angeles to me what this makes me think of immediately is that for several decades now we as a society have been very focused on the pipeline problem the notion that the dearth of women in technical fields has to do with the pipeline to get there and so the solution must be to educate more women in computer science and programming but the problem does not actually seem to be the pipeline the problem seems to be what happens to women when they've actually embarked on these careers in tech and there's lots of evidence to show that they earn less that they're marginalized that they are made to feel less valuable in various ways that was recently in a meeting with a publicly traded company the leadership of this company there was data scientists ceo's c._t._o. chief technology officer and probably thirteen people in the room i'm the only female i'm the youngest and when i left that meeting i was like i'm the only person in that meeting that felt like i don't belong twenty nine year old no emmy tetangco was one of professor posner student she started coding when she was seven but after taking one class in computer science decided it wasn't a coach she would enjoy and took an art history degree instead but she really enjoys coding and she's been working in the tech industry in los angeles since she left college which is how she ended up sitting around the table that very uncomfortable meeting and others like it even now that i've had so many years of experience with software developing it designing it managing it i still walk into these meetings and i'm the only woman i think that's probably a pretty common experience i thought it would be competitive that the standards would be really high and i was okay with that but the thing that really shocked me was that even though it performed really well i wasn't able to get more money and the reasons that i was given were tied to my gender and that really demoralized me specifically tied to gender they actually told you that it was like kind of an off handed comment so when i first asked for more money they asked why and i was like i'm really struggling to find a nice place to live the rent is really high because the tech companies in the area and the answer was like oh well if you just want more money to have a nicer place to live he just get married just find a husband that's how you level up in life you know this career thing isn't necessarily for you it was almost like they thought it was just like a hobby for me but i worked more hours than anyone else i took it very seriously i really saw it as my career and i was shocked that they thought it wasn't my career and when did this happen this Was two three years ago. in twenty seventeen steve jobs successor at apple tim cook gave an interview where he addressed the gender imbalance in the field of technology and he said this i think the u._s. will lose its leadership and technology if this doesn't change women are such an important part of the workforce if stem related fields continue to have this low representation of women than they're just will not be enough innovation in the united states that's just the simple fact of it And he may be right to worry about the US losing its edge. in countries where women are striving to improve gender equality learning to code offers a route to a better way of life this may be why in developing countries that trend we see in the west is heading in the other direction women are still in the minority of computer science students but there are more of them i go into a classroom in a computer science lab in india over fifty percent of the class will be women dame wendy hall travels around the world teaching courses in computer science and this is true many of what we call the developing countries the countries of developed later than computers because by the time they go computers that computers more advanced people knew what to do with them the web and the internet emerged so people wanted to get onto the confused them at home so that wasn't this iki male helps in computing india generally seen as a fabulous career if anyone to do but the goes like it because they see this they can do and they get married and have children so they can.

"Be hundred miles. You'll you'll realize you won't even realize that drifted one hundred miles. So when someone's talking about our core, it's like, oh, this is radical. But this is a radical. This is what we've always been. It's just that. Now, we've strayed so far away from what has really made us powerful and just and good and equitable productive. And so I think all of these things down radical compared to where we are. But where we are is not a good thing. And this idea of like ten percent better from garbage. What we subtle for? It's like this like it feels like moderate is not a stance. It's just an attitude toward life of like. When I think about what those definitions are capitalism. Isn't to me is it's an ideology of capital inputs capital. The most important thing is the concentration of capital. And it means that we seek and prioritize prophet and the accumulation of money above all else, and we seek it at any human and environmental cost that is what that means. And to me that is not sustainable and cannot be redeemed. But when we talk about ideas, for example, like democratic socialism, it means putting tomography and society, I instead of capital. I it doesn't mean that you put other things it doesn't mean that. The actual concept of capital as a society is should be abolished or or anything like that. But it's it's a question of our priorities. All right here. It is rising socialism Hannity watch it America. Glad you're with us. Eight hundred nine four one Sean toll-free telephone number. You wanna be a part of this extravaganza. Look, this is it's not just the radical. Socialist. It's everything radical about the Democratic Party. Now, we have Chicago wanting to be America's late term, even up to birth abortion destination. It's insane. I I'm wondering at some points as every state now goes through this and Democrats go through this. I'm I'm asking myself. How often is this happening like the Commonwealth of Virginia the governor? Well, I we'll deliver the baby. And then we'll make the baby come to the mother will decide and decide if it lives or dies. And then of course, you move on to the growing antisemitism problem of the Democratic Party. But the biggest threat, of course, is what modern day radical socialism new green deal. One that eliminate the heart and soul an engine and lifeblood of our economy, which is oil and gas which were the first time, thanks to Donald Trump. We are now energy independent. We will be a net exporter of our energy helping helping stability in the world because our allies can't beat depending on hostile regimes like Russia or hostile actors like Putin. What if he turns off this pick at one day like like, he got pissed at Crimea. Ukraine, not particularly an ideal situation. How much would it help in the negotiation as it relates to North Korea? What can we offer China in terms of energy resources for them as part of a better trade deal where American products now can finally imple- trait a massive population? And then we have a Andrew Cuomo. All we did what you said with tax the rich, we tax the rich, the rich and the rich are leaving in two point three billion. There was an article in red state today, the extrordinary links that New York state goes to if you move out of New York you've got to prove you moved out of New York, you you you got to show them that your in Florida six months in a day. And even then I'll give you an example, if you play baseball professional sports of any kind, do, you know in New York and New York City you play one day you work one day playing playing baseball for your team. Playing baseball or basketball or football in New York. Guess what you pay a tax as a player? It's insane. Absolutely nuts. Anyway. So you got the new leader of this movement is now attracted one hundred sitting Democrats many of the two thousand twenty candidates. Well, you know, we all want to take over every former production. We just wanna tell every workplace how to operate life in. America's just ten percent better than garbage has is she a world traveler because where is she comparing this to, you know, attacking Ronald Reagan with claims of racism, you know, why is this trendy new socialism, you know, as popular if you think it's not a threat or hate to tell you. But there is a poll showing fifty percent of kids over like. Yeah, we're they're buying into the socialist nonsense. And anyway, joining us to talk more about it. We have Steve Moore author of Trump and inside the America I plan to revive our economy senior fellow at heritage Chuck devore, vice president of the national initiatives at the tax public policy foundation. Former cut California assemblyman is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US army retired reserve. Welcome. Both of you Steve Moore when I see that half the country is looking toward socialism. I'm getting a little bit concerned. Well, I think we should be by the way, there's an old saying.

"We really don't know yet really haven't had any type of direction on on a on a broad in broad sense on who are enemies who are allies every engagement that uses United States troops military force, whether it's Syria, Iraq, what is the national strategic interest in. What is the cost benefit analysis in? I think Americans are rightly frustrated with these endless wars abroad. But we do wanna know who are enemies in terms of Syria, you know, Mattis use Syria as an excuse essentially for resigning from resonant Trump's administration, and we still, you know, a lot of people look at ISIS. You know, we're pulling out because we spoke defeated so call ISIS, but what about Russia would about China? What about that strategic alliance? What about you know, they still haven't been held to account Russia at least for the? Connects Asian of Crimea, Ukraine, they're still moving in the Balkans in. So there are larger national security threats that just were never articulated by Madison. So I think that his departure is essentially more of the say, you really didn't accomplish much importantly, neither has the president. Well, I'm of two minds about this. I think ultimately, I'm where you are in terms of getting out of dodge in Syria. So on Trump's side versus Madison side only because right now, we don't know what agenda is as you already pointed out, and we're about to be overrun completely as we see just in a matter of days by paganism. So we got things to do here at home. We really cannot be focused on anything else about shoring up a civilization right here that aside which is a big thing to put aside if we simply wanna talk about the debate about Mattis and weather militarily, it's just a good idea to be there. Even if our country is strong here. I thought the conversation that was going on over the course of days during Christmas rate was fascinating. There are people I respect on both sides that I actually think makes strong arguments that must be confronted about what to do. And that's a rare thing these days, we are always arguing straw, man. Here. I think Steve you've more or less been on the side of it's time you get home. Your arguments have been struck. There are people who have like Dan Crenshaw, Texas, newly sworn in who lost an eye who's making the argument. Listen, basically, it's it's not a fantastic that this is the state of affairs. But either we serve our country as military men dying over here or we die at home. There's a Lord of the rings quality about helm Steve in the elves coming to do their thing that I've said on the show the poor it all I have to guard against being swooning too much about that. Because I do believe there are bad men everywhere. And this is the one nation that often can do something about it. I'm very sympathetic to that by guard against the fact that. We came to I think this point two days ago. Steve once you get past then you have to have a general and leadership like General Grant, the Lincoln finally found after four years of budget. He fights he will go in there and actually fight a war. The may the way military is meant to be used. And I don't think we've done that the entire time. We've been over in Afghanistan or in Iraq. So I go back to where I started. I think I'm with Steve only because we are such a mess here in this nation that Mattis or no Mattis he wasn't about to solve alternately. What is at the heart of our misuse of our military, and our sense of mission in the world Aaron this..
