"I love that guy. Oh my gosh. he's so fine. Brick tiddle brings home the bacon. Fry it up in a pan. And then he eats it. Ricky in his official business that welcome back to the show our number three with rick tuttle sports byline and then the eu basketball team played their first game of the season last night against holy cross and terriers were red face masks and This is in compliance with the university policy which mandates that they must be worn at all times on campus any team that comes in such as a holy cross. Doing a return game to believe is tomorrow. They're going to have to wear them on their court and it a little bit odd. But it's all about the east times especially there's this one guy. The point guard. His nose was sticking out the whole game and they can. They did win. Eighty three seventy six but the The patriot league says that they're going to be having this For the whole season some the ncaa has not issued a sport wide policy. Said they're leaving it up to conferences and programs. Some women teams have worn face. Mask to paul. Who are six three right. Now they weren't asks the creighton bluejays believe they are the creighton bluejays. They say that it's up to player discretion if they want marijuana or not and so eight of the thirteen players decided they wanted to wear them but You know as i said if you wear with your one one guy actually on be you'd watch highlights. He had it on chin so his home mouth and nose works. So i mean if you're gonna do it.

"On the inside one one point five on the FM side getting to us some of the sport's goings on our number to my good pal Rudy Rudy Kerr that's right Rudi Notre Dame movie yeah yeah you know you get older you start tolerating teams that you can't stand when you're growing up and as a USC fan growing up Notre Dame that was one of those rivals man had to beat those guys and of course doing a radio show with Bob Dole it for four years the big donor that's all we always had the better it was great and of course Bob all American captain with Joe Montana back in seventy eight I believe so we'll talk a little bit football with Rooty hill in late noon we'll talk about the movie will talk about all good stuff if you have any questions you can tweet those out at sports X. radio I can Thompson eighty seven will feel those questions right now one introduce you to somebody that you don't know and I know him because I think he's going to be a family member and I consider him family already this guy has a great warm personality he is you know a little bit shy initially if he doesn't know you you know you would think like to have you know just kind of subdued personality but not when you get to know him he's very outgoing once he knows you feels comfortable and of course in his line of work he's got to be like that he is somebody that has a retention rate with his clients that is through the roof he's just that guy that makes you feel good why because he comes from the heart and I know this why because Christina my beautiful wife her oldest daughter Kaelin she is a the girlfriend of Caleb hockey is my guest right now I listen to a great podcast with Kayla being the guest last week and I was going to get up I was going to listen to part of it and then you know go on about my day come back listen to it he was an outstanding podcast and I got to know more and more about Caleb and I said you know what he's got to come on sports radio because more people need to know about this young man what a great success story and remember we had bill cracking Bergeron and crack man of course successful you know professional gambler would you start with a thousand dollar bankroll Kayla doc would you start with a thousand our bankroll we'll talk about how we got going to where he is he's down there in the great state of Arizona state forty eight which is a big time brand right now in the great state of Arizona being the forty eighth St we see that all over Arizona but I welcome to sports X. radio cable lock it is great to have you on the air Hey what's up my man did you hear coming up there you go it is a good it's gonna be a lot of fun just a lightning a lot of people here in the Vegas area Callie and all the people listening and of course a lot of people podcast my show so we may listen tomorrow morning as well the podcast by the way folks will go up that sports X. radio dot com up there by about midnight Pacific and of course then I'll be on the road heading to Arizona to see my beautiful wife and bring her back to Vegas for a while Christine is waiting and looking forward to that but kelompok it is great to have you on the show and it is great to get into your background your past really is where I want to start because I will tell you folks as we get going this young man twenty nine years old I I I can't even believe the discipline this young man has never had an alcoholic beverage in his life he is a trainer he's a professional trainer he is somebody that is in tip top shape he's somebody that helps others get in tip top shape and he's got some great success stories on four I'm sure from people that he's trained that basically were like that I got no shot getting back in shape but Caleb hockey's that glass half full guy that's what we talk about your own sports X. ray you gotta be there forget half empty gotta be half full Caleb's got that person out he's going to bring the best out of you I know because I went to his great Jim glory games we'll get into that I was hurt and then the next day but Caleb he's not where he's not feeling sorry for you he's just making sure you get through the work out because you are gonna feel good after you shower up you feel good you feel like you accomplished something and that's the whole motivational standpoint about glory games is that he and the trainers that use glory gains as our home base GM they make sure that you push yourself to limit that you ordinarily wouldn't push yourself so it is going to be a fun to get to that part but let's go back into yesteryear Kayla Bock you're only twenty nine so you're you're not that old but let's go back to Lexington Nebraska for the love of god might have I have said I have I have seven or eight good solid gas throughout the year they held for Nebraska JD sharpie doesn't show here in the mornings he's from just outside of Omaha got a good pal G. P. Scott was just on the show the other day he actually covers the Creighton Bluejays and does a lot as far as big red football have another buddy that's moved out here graduated Nebraska so we know that on football Saturdays when it's football season is it true that the whole state Khanna my grades to that Nebraska Cornhuskers brand yeah man growing up as a retarded all football all the time you know I was I was blessed to have a family that loves sports especially football can you grow up and even guys like Amman green you know when I was younger of course cop rock Eric crouch from those guys they're like cancel Paul's just like in the blood out there you know there's there's nothing better than Saturday in Lincoln of course Tom Osborne the great coach now yeah a little bit you know you're you're a little bit before your time really because you're you know you're like you're only twenty nine so your pops your pops probably let you know when you're in your family as a hand down that tradition they're in the great state of Nebraska big red football and David home who just passed away recently was a quarterback for the raiders for many years a backup quarterback but he was a three year starter in three year bowl winner there for the Nebraska Cornhuskers back in the day but time when he when he passed away the south point casino they had a great celebration of David Holmes life his brother Tom of course also played in Nebraska was a receiver and Tom I'm actually right here this station this network used to be the general manager here so I got to know Tom really well great guy but south point did it up perfectly great celebration for David Tom and Tom Osborne walked up to the stage and boy you could hear a pin drop because when that man speak doesn't matter doesn't have to be in the state of Nebraska people just listen to Tom Osborne because what he usually says comes out of his mouth is usually words of wisdom any chance to ever run into coach Osborne you know I actually did one of my lifetime I am personally the term but I was actually in a big tennis match is actually great tennis my sophomore year of playing doubles then as against the number one doubles team in class B. in Nebraska and we it was then that I believe the third round of state and his nephew was on the opposing team at number one doubles team so we walked in the month fortunately by I remember him and the fans are watching about this Matthew so it's a pretty cool moment at the end actually watch me play tennis even though we can't pull off the win now the only time I've ever ran across them there you go okay so depressed is a pretty big state for folks that you know hell I grew up in New Jersey and there's a lot of people there but it's not as big the state of Nebraska so as far as you know jurisdiction can you kind of put in there as far as where Lexington Nebraska is because I know our Lexington Kentucky is in fact you know your your girlfriend Caleb which she's got family members down there in Lexington Kentucky so what about Lexington Nebraska yeah man I'd be in a dead center so the big cities on the east side in a raft at the Lincoln and Omaha where in the dead center of the state some decent we bigger towns around it this Kearney Nebraska they got a division two school university Nebraska Kearney and then we got Grand Island an hour away in north Platte an hour away but other than that man we're kind of just like in the dead center tell me what it was like growing up with that type of lifestyle because a lot of farm land out there and for somebody that grows up in a metropolis like I did back east and then of course gets out to the west coast San Diego LA and now here in Vegas don't really know what it's like to live in a small town like that yeah man it's a time when you don't at the time you don't really know what you're missing out on it for you moved like a big city like I'm in right now but it's like it's just a way of life that bike you got bored you work on the farm you keyed castle at a young age and you can just learn how to enjoy the simple things you enjoyed your classwork as well though that's the cool thing you loved your sports but you excelled in the classroom as well he had a nice G. O. P. A. let me know a little bit let everybody know a little bit about the college years because you didn't take five years like a lot of kids do nowadays and you were looking to get in and looking to get out yeah man the three years so I took a track scholarship and down college in A. I. N. A. I. A. school and my whole thing was man I thought the student loans and how bout those things can rack up so like I don't want in and out as fast as I can now just kind of my drive and motivation so yeah I went into nineteen credit hours plus a summer internship and just grind it out in three years got out of there with a four point oh and gone on with the work life at twenty one years old while there isn't of course your girlfriend Kayla and her younger sister Lauren did very very well as well as little three year deal over there Grand Canyon university so we're always able to give Kaelin our time because we're still waiting for her to finish up there it's it's it's three she's like real close to that degree and she's got everything going on but she's got her own professional life now she owns her own business and so that's kind of been put on hold but we will not let her just you know fall a few credit short we will make sure that she finishes up as you know mom mom is somebody that's already got the master's degree and that's the way it is that side of the family everybody goes to college not like Katie I did it you know after the navy about a year and a half a junior college and it's on there and it kind of looks really is it really weak when you're who you're going through linked in and you're dealing with all these big waves that I'm dealing with and then they look into like San Diego mesa junior college one year it's a great and like I was so happy that I got in and it's like you you know it's a junior colleges pay a little bit you there and you know I I needed that time in between I getting out of high school which I actually took the GED beginning at the senior year and that you because you needed a diploma to get in the service join the navy and my whole goal Caleb was gotta get outta Jersey look I'm glad I grew up there but I just want to get to our Formula One to get to the west coast because I just I don't know I just the sunshine I want to be in that type of environment and I used to hate going to bed and then waking up in the morning and just you know trying to find those late scores and they'd have like a little and in parentheses like night game like they didn't get have the score because the paper was printed before the games were fine on like you know I'm gonna be out west in this way when I go to bed all the games are gonna be over I'm going to know all the scores and lo and behold I was able to pull that off and after I got out of this that and the service out of the navy I ended up staying in California then moved to Vegas here twenty years ago your path a little bit different to get out west tell everybody a little bit how you migrated from Nebraska and got out to Arizona yeah man so during that whole three years in college I just really found out how much I love fitness I love.

"First off coming off a nice beautiful day out here in Vegas and yeah we're going through corona virus to get a separate and I was you know in the office and I'm working on some stuff with some buddies that have some great products to combat coded nineteen and so I've got a you know pretty solid network so again a lot of information to a lot of great people throughout the day but it was about probably back to fifteen to thirty and like I gotta get outside I can't take it in order to get outside so nice out and I know social distancing so my nephew brings his basketball I bring my basketball the only court that we find because a lot of the bigger parks in Henderson they had to take all the rims off the back boards because people were just playing all these basketball games are played full court games and so they weren't abiding by the you know the social distancing so they did that so I drove over to over to the initial park over there at cornerstone park I love the park with the little lake in the ducks and geese and all that stuff and all the baskets were then I you know I talked to another lady officers and she said yeah they just you know nobody was really abiding by the rules I say I I get it so you know another little court that we have was there was open so went down there and me and my nephew now he's a good shooter good basketball shooter and you know and I I just I told my god how old are you now he's like twenty trago wow do you know you can live another full lifetime and then some and still be younger than your uncle Kenny but however you're still in for when it comes to shooting threes so he's a pretty good three point shooter we shoot from about twenty three feet you know how do I figure in you know twenty one nine or whatever's college we should buy twenty three feet in and going around the five spot and so we did the best at it you know twenty five shots going around the loser after each game and you play a best of seven loser had to do push ups and then had to do the ten late and if you miss one of the labs you know if you have fast and you end up missing you gotta do five on top that which he ended up doing in his third loss so to make I mean it was great because I end up sweeping on four oh no I hope he's listening because you you know I I have give we play one I want to take me to the rack all the time but distance using he's pretty good and on occasion he's better than me but not today and that Katie takes care of business no J. peace got the real J. peace got is on the line right now on a GP loves hoops loves football too but he lives there right there in the epicenter of Creighton bluejay basketball coach McDermott the guys one of the great stories in colleges we talk about day in San Diego state I think Creighton so dating Creighton were two of my favorite stories and had cigarettes ski not gotten hurt I would think that this team would have had a great chance I'd say a lead eight I I I definitely think they got to the Sweet Sixteen and then it would have been a tough match I don't know it's a probably would have been against a power five team it just depends who would have been but I feel comfortable that the way they spread the court in the way they shoot if you were the rates set up that they would have been able to win that game get to delete it J. P. your take a healthy Creighton team this year and I know it always depends on the bracket but how good was this team was this the best cream team that you've seen in your day I first look and think you have me on again I'm glad to be here and yeah you know I felt great for quite sometime now from a talent standpoint this probably wasn't the best screen team I've seen talent wise that that would've been a couple years ago when they had Carrie Thomas Justin Patton Marcus foster that was the most talented team up until this year the best overall she leaned on terms of chemistry guys who just that well that was McDermott senior year when they had grandkids that youth and rocky they should've made a run deeper than what they can't they got knocked out the second round but all in all yeah this this this team just to watch them grow from early on in the year when they when out there Bagus actually just got hammered by San Diego state now granted they were a different team than our Danville Mahoney was activated at that point he began at the end of the U. six matter of the year yeah all these pieces that will expand you come into this this season looking at this team going and these guys are small I don't know if any of these you know the big three between the garage D. bout allocated star son Alexander I don't know if they're ready to step up and be like a go to guy and up in at some point this season all three were exactly that of course thanks John you know he's an MVP caliber player to be used yeah all in all top to bottom probably the best team in terms of just chemistry and then and then you look at the coaching staff of the coding sample they will get out of this team an undersized team McDermott and staff able to just make make adjustments on the fly in games and throughout this year yeah probably the best effort I've seen from the project program okay so who do they lose Alexander Baillieston nobody are you kidding me I thought I was in it was a senior all my god it's Oscar junior I rosters back their seven footer who is out all this year take about percent right is back in a four star center on the St Louis what was your name cash right okay so here is mince his men's canoe is men's gonna leave or is he gonna know answered back my Galatasaray after he did not enter the portal this team and all these preseason projections on scene next year they're a top five team god willing this season goes off right certainly here the top five teams and if that person can play up to his ability either reporter line for start coming out Brian how Bernard the freshmen come in and the four star single sorry yet those two guys come in and do what they're expected to do this is gonna be a tough team to beat S. fun team to watch more fun than this year wow I'm looking forward to wow that's great stuff I didn't well I get for some reason I thought Tayshaun Alexander was a senior and I was bombed as I comment back yeah I know I I I I feel cheated because obi Toppin I hate to complain and I do such a phenomenal year but he's going to go into the NBA draft he can't you know based on what they did but how much fun would that have been Dayton increase in in the final end how cool would that have been I mean especially cigarettes give course had to be a hundred percent you know and then we don't know because he was going to sit out the Big East Tournament to try and see if you'd be able to give it a go in the big dance because we definitely needed him he's just you know one of those guys that can shoot the three really well and they always seem to have somebody step up but when they won and when they won convincingly they usually have at least three guys play solid games they never really relied on one guy but I will tell you this when balance is shooting their increased when he's there at home on that court I mean he did play he knows that cord as well as anybody takes advantage of a home court advantage because you could see it there's times and they know because coach McDermott knows too and he's just like well I know we can hit that I've seen amid it all day in practice so he doesn't my if you shoot some from thirty yeah I know they can still pull up from anywhere he's the heart and soul he is the glue of the team regular house you'll probably go down as the best point guard Trae never had alligators gonna go down as one of the best two way players great never had but this team is defined and has been defined since he was recruited by nationality who actually spurned Kansas he had an offer from Kansas you from your campus like in the shadow of Laurence Fishburne then become the crane to play basketball and ever since then he has banned this team he's been the face of the team even when he's you know he goes all for and that's the way you're you live by the three you die but three nights anytime like for eleven from behind the arc but you know what the next night he comes out he'll drop thirty four I yeah that's just the kind of player he is you can have a short memory I believe use icicle quarterback too I think that plays into it quarterback sat down a short memory so either Steve got a fun player to watch and we're excited to have him back next year he's J. peace got my good pal I love when I get into football with him because he writes for Advani's down the college used on the pro is done at all you still blogging at all yes I do a little bit from Aswad stuff because they put me of all people I can't believe they give me this responsibility I was in charge of the all time greatest list for NFL kickers NFL defensive backs and hurts okay then those are those are out right now updated active life people want to just Google apps on all time greatest you'll find those so that was fun to do it on the news a little bit of draft stuff is noted and stuff here and there so yes but you know normally your gas heater this is the most fun time of year for me I think right now the NFL draft is kind of saving all of this is sports fans and it is a huge radio host I mean he had to have something to talk about something it's real it's actually happening and as far as we know that you have to still happening yeah no doubt and they're looking off from what I read today they're looking to get this season there again David all deterrents all gonna be determined so don't you know rush to worries all my god you don't care about health of course we care about health with that's the number one thing we're humanitarians and J. P. and I are both military guys I mean we'll do anything for this country I mean I'll go back in I'll go to war for this country in a second I don't care I mean I'm an American through and through I don't get into all the political B. S. sometimes I can't stand it especially in times of of crisis like now when I hear just networks just constantly you know ripping on the president or whatever written on this or that I I just can't stand it now I'm just like you know what he just wait can you wait like a couple months you know let us get back to some type of normalcy let us try and combat the death rate here so we can knock it down and follow through and just be on the same page for a couple months and then go back to kill each other and because because that's what it's all about you know you're a Democratic Party Republican Party even independent I don't actually know what whatever I'm looking for the best person I don't care what party they are the best man the best lady I don't care.

C. A. A. to shut everything down Wednesday decision again did not come until Thursday John Farnham on our SportsCenter special again without knowing the background to what all the peace movie pieces are what they look like I thought last night I said this was kind of Intel I thought college basketball was done and I thought that I'd see my last college basketball game of the year one up when we went to air last night I think this again is an appropriate response given the fact that the unknown is exactly that unknown you don't know I don't know you don't know we have no clue how it's gonna play out what's it going to be err on the side of caution my heart breaks for Sabrina Ionescu for Luka Garza from miles pal for so many of the great players we have across this country that I put so much in the hopes of trying to compete and win a national championship this year on the men's and the women's side it's unfortunate but at the end of the day I agree with Jay and and I think this was one hundred percent the right call and what about seniors Sean Farnham in terms of playing for a national championship can we think about giving an additional year to the senior classes do they get to experience that do we give it back to them in German opportune if they want to go to grad school to stay they don't have to take that option but I think that option should be available for the men and women that are that are participating in the sports now and then the ones that subsequently essentially been canceled with the decision today made by the NC double a you heard John Farnham said he thought he was going to see is final basketball game Wednesday night Thursday St John's and Creighton we're at the half of the big east quarterfinal match up at Madison Square Garden John bishop voice of the Creighton Bluejays Thursday night was painting company here on ESPN radio afterwards as the players are kind of trickling out of the locker room when they called it yeah there was some disappointment there I think the coaches all kind of acknowledge it but it was just that stands going into the day that we may not play so I almost think playing back twenty minutes of basketball was a vacation from everything that has happened over the last forty eight hours and and it was almost like an unexpected calls like you get an extra fifteen minutes at recess with like all I'm gonna take advantage of this before I have to you know go back to the real world and John bishop Creighton play by play announcer describing the scene at Madison Square Garden on Thursday joining spinning company here on ESPN radio Thursday night.

in Saint Louis so it's disappointing it is tough now are you of course have followed as most court officials say the world's greatest baseball team and the world's greatest fan base and we know that as far as baseball there's no family is better than the same those cardinals year in year out that team packs the place home road whatever those are Die Hard fans and they don't give up on their team has I've eluded to before watching them one time when a fan appreciation day like last game of the year like fifteen games out of first place in the place was packed it was like an open seat I'm like looking at this go with these people do when they got football right there in the backyard but those are dedicated court offense yeah and I I'd love our culture I love Albert pool holds but we didn't sign him and that's just one of the moves that we chose not to make and you got the red Sox Yankees got the cubs Dodgers they buy teams and that that's great then you've got the other end of the spectrum the Royals you know the eighties who give other they're all the cardinals are right there in between and I love our culture all right so games that are rolling right now on the ice Montreal
