"Gosh, I remember when I was a couple of years into a TV show I was doing a morning show, and my hair started to fall out and I have great hair. I have like fur on the top of my head. And I started to get like little patches where the person doing my hair was like, pulled me to one side, and it's like a UK and I saw a doctor, I went to see a specialist and you know what it was? I was just run down. I wasn't stressed because I didn't get nervous by it. I was stressed about how much I had taken on. So I took on a show, but I didn't get rid of anything else. Yes. And so when you keep adding and you keep adding and that's the key and so now when something comes into my life, I have to say to myself, even with friends, new friends, I have to say, gosh, to make room for this, do I have to get rid of something else? And often the answer is yes, and then the big question is, what do I want? Do I want this or do I want that? And to be honest, I like what I'm doing right now. I do. I don't want that. I don't think this piece of the pie of his little pie is big enough for me. What is going on with Clare, crawley from the bachelorette? Yes, and his shady Claire honey. So bachelorette's Clare crawley, she shades her Dale moss is acting debut, who is so funny. So almost three months after the couple called it quits for the second time, the former bachelorette star, she appeared to throw shade at her ex fiance when she made an eyebrow raising remark about acting on her Instagram story. She wrote sauna plus emails alongside a shot of herself in the steam room and she continued to write for the record. You guys can stop sending me all the acting real clips. I had a front row seat to it since day one. She's claiming that he was acting since day one. And so bachelor nation fans suspected that she was, of course, referring to Dale's upcoming film, love, game, match. And Claire's comment came just a day after the trailer for the romantic comedy was released on line. This is shaken. This brings us to our poll question of the day. So normally we do the poll question right at the top of the show after our lead story, but it didn't feel appropriate to be asking a poll about Chris not. So he moved it down to this story, so what do you think bachelorette Claire crawley seems to be shading her axe? Deimos, I think she really is. Let's be honest about this. She's shading him. So he's got his acting debut and she's been shady about it saying he was always an actor. What do you think about this? Do you think it's funny? Funny. It could be funny. What do you think it's petty? Do you think it's petty? Hey, go votes on our Twitter page at 1990..

"Yes the being able to have that. Authentic connection with collaboration partner really does make the difference in the end What were some of the things that you learned or key takeaways from that type of collaboration Just that You know a lot of ideas that you have in your head are very very hard to execute i learned about you know reasonable. Timelines with like for example like my outer components like my tubes and things like that those are produced in china's so you know and then also there was a whole other added layer with kobe with the kobe pandemic. It was just. It was just like the perfect storm. You know what i mean. Usually you can get a sample in three weeks but it was taking three months and you know i kind of just learned not to promise anything until i actually have product in my hand and since that collaboration i've actually had to decline other collaborations because i just i know my bandwith and my partners sandwich now and sometimes it's just you know it's not worth it. Yes it can be a lot especially when you want to work intimately and well with a collaboration partner takes a lot of energy. A lot of emotional capacity to definitely and i think that we don't even factor that in. I think we like. I definitely get excited about the possibility. But then i'm not thinking about you know all of the work in the extra steps that you have to take so. It's definitely made me realize that like okay. I'm only really going to collaborate with with brands. That i really really am invested in interested and because the process is just so tedious. Looks like a small lobster that you find in the desert. What type of bug is this scorpion. A scorpion switzer rushing to the other side of the top of your mouth. Don't brush too hard scorpions type of arachne. It that means they have eight legs like spiders. Scorpions have to sharp pincers in the front of their body. That looks sort of like the clause of the lobster or crab and they have a long tail with a stinger at the end. Scorpions used their singers to inject poison into whatever they want to eat. Switzer rushing to the bottom of your mouth and keep on brushing. Here's your next riddle. This bug is like a lamp lighting up the woods at night. Yeah he tried to crawl out the head and then he got stuck right. Yeah or was that with us and we had to pose arms through all right. Tell me your cat's name. Also because we were talking about this okay. It took the cat to the vet. And i never i was reading. Her stinkers was what i called her am little embarrassed to say it stuck and i think it was because i was. We were fighting at the time. My boyfriend and i and this cat was a cat that someone was feeding at our house on the deck. She was like an abandoned and he thought i was trying to swindle him. The boyfriend thought. I was trying to just take in the cat. So turn into a big fight of like debt bullshit. Something's going on here all suspicious of me leg trying to get another cat in the house or something. I don't remember but Were you know it was someone. I think what happened to someone new. I was a softy for cats and started feeding the stray cat so stick around the house. And i would get attached happen. But in order to be detached. I think i named her stinkers like that's a bad name. I don't know why it's such a bad knee. So but this is such a dumb story. And i went to the vet and i'm like i'm going to start calling or something different because i never made an effort to name her properly. She does not look like a stinkers. It's a weird name. And i told the new events making it kinda go instantly like you high cut like it's hard to warm up to her with that name like a pooh-poohed name. Yeah kind of go. What's wrong with you is renamed stinkers. Are you going to drop them. Carp yes yes. She did sick tooth. And i'm gonna put it back in and we're going to hear lists. Okay go ahead so anyway. This is such a who okay. So i told the vet hertie was cheech l. 'cause there's a comment to me which you get so embarrassed about. What did you get embarrassed. It's any time you hear somebody doing. Pb talk how do you feel when you hear someone else doing. Baby talk as but it's cheech..

How important minor league baseball was in this part of the world. One of the reasons for writing the book was to keep alive. The legacy of the crowley millers the ballpark that they played in that still here. In fact it's looking better than ever and The storied past of the evangeline which was established in one thousand nine hundred eighty four and lasted until nineteen fifty seven. There was a little time out for world war two right but just a colorful league. How to Hire a B2B Saas Marketing Leader

"As i said off the top one of the keys to marketing success is a partnership between the ceo and the head of marketing now recently hired a new director of marketing. Can you give me some insight about the recruiting and hiring process. How did you do the search. How long does it take. And how do you see creating that win win. Partnership a loaded question many different assets. But i would be really interested in learning about that whole journey from having no head of marketing to having a new head of marketing. It's a loaded question now. It was also interesting. Jenny hoagie hide. And it also came based on a lot of mistakes made in my previous attempts of hiring. So this is. It would be unfair to say. This was the first time we tried to hire out. There were attempts. i'd done in the past and they did not work and the number one lesson i had learned back then based on those experiences will as you too to hard the fit for the company of the stage. Very what and it was not aboard. The reason that's on the previous candidates did not work out was not about david not great candidates but because they were crawley mismatch between the expectations or denigrated certain stage of the company. And where we're at. So one of the goals that i had was to find someone who is hustler at this early stage company. How can how more generalists rather than specialists approach. Wisdom From Ethiopian Running Culture: An Interview With Dr. Michael Crawley

"What was it like going from basically running at sea level to running at that kind of altitude and explain this the kind of training conditions with a group that you were you were running with. Should i mean it was tough. To begin with a takes a good week we can off to get even a little bit us to choose but i thought it's very easy to kind of assimilate into Basically they believe very strongly that you have to train with other people in order to get better so the first kind of morning. I went out for a run Just into the forest above living and started jogging somebody came in michi- just grabbed me a of moping group of athletes trying to save you from the hyenas right yes that yet as part of it but then also just like this idea that if you wanted to athle- have to surround yourself with people today said training on your own is good staying healthy but if you want to transform yourself Become a better run. And you've got to be the people time. So that i guess kind of made it easier but also hotter in some ways because i was expected to try and keep up with people who lot better athletes than i am and i was able to. I mean for the most part for the kind of forest running which is a lot of what they do is is more kind of trail. Running weaving in and out of eucalyptus forest allow of that. Running is actually very slow which is great because the men that i was able to keep up And actually learned from kind of following their footsteps. I suppose when they do that when they run through the forest they sort of zigzagged and kind of go randomly which they believe helps Helps with what exactly so. I think it's so of mainly to as a way of kind of recovering from training so we did basically three really tough runs in a week on monday wednesday friday mornings and then apart from that most of the running was in forest which from my perspective when i first arrived who is not a particularly easy place to run. So kind of ferry hilly Very tightly packed trees lots of tree roots and rocks and things like that underground. And yeah as you said. We kind of weaved in out of the trees in zigzag backwards and forwards. I think that was part of it was to kind build a guilty and things but it was also showed running nice and slowly on the easy days so they believe very strongly that you have. You know you could eat three hot sessions than rest of you. Running should be quite regenerative quite easy quite varied in terms of service and things like that so they would deliberately run in places that were difficult to run in in order to make sure they went slowly and didn't do too much. That was the logic.

The Mystery Of Houska Castle

"The most famous legend about host castle says it was built over a gateway to hell if that's true. Unfortunately there's no way to prove it. The question of whether a fiery afterlife exists is better left to theologians and philosophers but host gay isn't the only place that allegedly hides a portal to the underworld take for example. The stole cemetery. Otherwise known as america's most evil graveyard. It's a burial plot in remote. Kansas on the surface it's a bleak creepy looking necropolis. But according to legend it's much more just beyond the graveyard an abandoned church looms over the headstones and grassy walkways. Perhaps at one time it was elegant and beautiful but any hints of its old majesty have long since faded away by the nineteen nineties all that remained or a few crumbling brick walls without a roof. The church is significant because it supposedly sits atop a gateway to hell local legends says that in eighteen fifty lucifer himself emerged from the underworld afterward. Rumors suggested satan would rise in the graveyard twice a year. Once at midnight on the spring equinox and again on halloween and for decades locals apparently gathered for parties to watch the devils entrance only to be disappointed year after year when he never showed but while there may not be any satanic sightings inexplicable events have happened around stole cemetery in. It's church for example even though it doesn't have a roof the house of worship is said to always stay dry. Even when it rains people have reported seeing floating lights shadowy figures that vanish into nothing in rings of flame that appear out of nowhere these fires hovering the air. Even though there's no visible fuel source to keep them let you may be tempted to visit stole and see these phenomena for yourself if so you're out of luck rowdy. Crowds in supernatural enthusiasts. Repeatedly caused property damage forcing the owners to close the cemetery to the public in two thousand and two. The property managers demolished the church. It wasn't structurally sound and as far as we can tell. This destruction didn't unleash any demons upon the world which suggests the stories were just add stories but stole cemetery isn't the only alleged portal to the underworld in sunny southern california the la suburb of pasadena secret that surprisingly dark. The aptly named devil's gate dam was constructed in nineteen twenty two control flood waters coming down from the san gabriel mountains. The structure was named after a nearby odd-looking rock formation that vaguely resembles a horned devil face but before the dam was even built dark myths and legends suggested this stony shapes weren't the only demonic influence in the region in the nineteen forties. A man named jack. Parsons became convinced. That the devil's gate dam held other worldly power today. Corson's is famous for being one of the founders of the jet propulsion laboratory but he was also an occultist who belonged to alastair crawley's mystical secret society or does temporally orientalists. If you're interested we've covered croly and order tempe oriented extensively in our show secret societies but for our purposes. Here all you need to know is crowley was an extremely controversial occultist and magician once labelled the wickedest man in the world and he allegedly referred to the devil's gate dam as one of the seven gates of hell giving cronies association with the area. It comes as no surprise that parsons is said to have performed magic rituals at the devil's gate but some believe persons may have opened a portal to another dimension or to the afterlife itself. This sounds difficult to believe. But there's evidence to suggest that something strange was happening in around the dam in nineteen fifty-six a thirteen year old boy and an year old girl both went missing while biking through the area.

Like show was trying to keep it on the hush for mill. Because she was a we're engaged like he honestly and we always talk about it. The tables turn how men try to hide being in a relationship with women. But i feel like prochet. She is like one of those private celebrities. Who doesn't want to be in the spotlight. And who doesn't want. Yes because the danika or he hasn't been you know away from his other girlfriend. That rodney timelines timelines at the time. So as far as we understand they confirmed danika and erin confirmed their break-up in july twenty twenty seven months ago but she leans like we've been engaged for a while so she says so. Mike did they engage after a month. The data thought t's though oh don't do that about shayla little question of putting the way she leads says it as far as like. I don't know why it's such a big deal with engaged for so long and almost seems like they've been together for year exactly exactly. My problem is and i'm sorry she leaned. I really wanna be down for this engagement. There's something about him and he only dates famous women. That scares me a little bit.

Clare Crawley and Dale Moss Were Spotted Holding Hands After Their Messy Breakup

"Let's talk claire and dell. They split just a few weeks ago. And the break-up was messy now there have been sightings. I've been hanging out in florida. Do we really think these two could get back together. Yes absolutely you. I have friends that. Go back and forth to their excess. I've done it. I think we've all unless you're a person who's like that's it. I cut him off. Got some friends who cut their and they do not go back no matter what but this couple seems like toxic. I mean what do you really think you really feel about daily. I always tell people don't decisions about your relationship when you're hungry when you're tired win in a pandemic because you will start to second guess where the you really feel their way or if it's the pandemic that's causing you to think that way. I think that we probably got the clare in dallas situation. Ron i think the two had split up probably before he went to new york and probably before he was spotted with that girl. I don't think there was any fidelity. Did her dirty publicly. he basically broke up with her on the internet. It's like the now twenty twenty one of breaking someone on a post it note like visitors not okay and she found out when we found out that that's will remember. I'm going to believe claire. Because she's a she's my age and we are mature and in control of our relationship narrative. That is exactly what happened. She wasn't happy about it but clearly it wasn't enough to turn her off of the relationship because here she is again. I just wanna order. Friends are saying. That's what a shot because if you call them go back your friends don't wanna hear about it. You talk and talk and what he did to me and the next thing you know i cut people off if you have a toxic relationship and i have been through it for cycle one. Two three and seven at eight. I have to draw boundaries. Because then you're talk. Society is coming into my leg with your girlfriend but let's put ourselves in their predicament. We're talking about a man who went on a show met. A woman got engaged after three or four weeks have known each other and then went into lockdown with that person. I don't care who you are whether you were together for a year years or five years before you got engaged. Somebody's gonna get cold feet at some point during that time go on a cruise ship with somebody who just see what happens more people that break up after going on cruises to gather you're locked up and you're like you know i got to know that person way too. Well yes. I think it's the opposite. I feel like corentin. Yes i think it can either break you up and you're done because it pushes fast forward on the relationship right so you're in quarantine. I hate this person or if you haven't had a lot of time together which they did not corentin could have been the best thing for their relationship because now they get to spend all all of this if they were right for each other. I don't think these two long term right for each other. But i think that quarantines should have been the best for

Apple Loses A Copyright Lawsuit

"Federal judge has dismissed. Apple's claims that mobile device virtualization company corral corallium violated copyright law with its software that allowed folks to run ios on pc's quoting the washington post in a ruling that has wide reaching implications for iphone security research and copyright law a federal judge in florida throughout apple's claims that carelli had violated copyright law with its software which helps security researchers find bugs and security holes on apple's products. Corallium co founded in two thousand seventeen by husband and wife. Amanda gordon and chris wade was a breakthrough insecurity research because it gave its customers the ability to run virtual iphones on desktop computers. Corallium makes it to use physical avon's that contain specialized software to poke and prod. Ios apple's mobile operating system. The judge in the case ruled that carell liam's creation of virtual. Corallium wasn't creating a competing product for consumers rather it was a research tool for a comparatively small number of customers. Apple argued that crawley products could be dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands because security flaws discovered by liam could be used to hack iphones. Apple also argued that chromium sells its product indiscriminately claim corallium denied dread. Rodney smith called apple's argument on those claims quote puzzling. According to court records when the acquisition talks stalled apple sued corallium last year claiming its virtual iphones which contain only the bare bones functions necessary for security research constitute violation of copyright law apple also alleged corallium circumvented. It's official: Clare Crawley exits The Bachelorette — and gets engaged!

"That Claire Crawley walked away into the sunset with her choice, Dale Moss in the middle of the bachelorette season. This has never happened before. This is 1/16 season of the Bachelorette because she fell in love in the middle of the season, she thought it was not worth the other guy's time. To waste their time. She's like I already know who I want. We are into each other, and we are going to be together until the day we die. Like all bachelor and bachelorette contestants are no. But she left the show very unprecedented. And so they brought in a new bachelorette. Her name is Tasha. Adams. She is a flat bottom miss and she, which means she takes people's blood. If you don't know that she's a nurse, and so the guys were braced for her entrance. He was a little bit concerned about blindsiding the suitors, Claire's former suitors, and she said, I just know that this process moves very quickly and you start to invest a lot of feelings Early on. I don't know if that's the case for some of them. On def, So I'm more than happy to have that conversation with them, and if they don't feel like this is the right time for them, or I'm not right for them. They can walk away at this point. She's not going to get her feelings hurt. S so you know, that's that's good of her. She is absolutely gorgeous. I think this is going to be great. In August, she was seen in Palm Springs wearing a teal bikini. And then there was a teaser for Theo episode that she was in season and bikinis a lot basically. It's like when they show the bachelors coming out of the pool or showering. It's like OK, thank you. We know they shower. Ah, and so there's was a to be continued at the end of the show. Next week's Caesar promised. Possible cases of cold feet of some of the guys walking away from this, plus some more answers from Claire and Dale. So they're gonna have a portion of the show. That's like, all right. Well, how did this happen? How did you you know, because there was also talk that during the pandemic when they had to stop filming that they were still in contact with each other. So that's sort of how their relationship blossomed. And, Yeah, I mean, I give a tour. You know why drag it out? If you know you're going to pick and well, she is getting a lot of hate. Oh, it's like this is real life. It's not just a TV show, you know. She

Brandi Glanville Apologizes for Tactless Erika Jayne Divorce Post

"The real housewives are at war again. This time over a divorce so brandy glanville is being accused of cashing in on her friends. Heartbreaks brandy posted a link on instagram to story announcing erica james divorce. She later deleted the post in. Tweeted an apology. Saying i took xanax earlier. Because of what's going on in the world. I didn't see the post on my idea. Erica jane until this eve. And i deleted it the second i saw it. As i've said in the past. I leased my social media out i in no way would have been that insensitive interesting least her social media out meaning like she has a social media manager or did somebody probably controls. It and i do believe that she does that. I don't think brandi glanville is trying to start a media conglomerate and is trying to be the next to you but i do think that sometimes celebrities let loose and let people just control their things. Get in hot water. Sometimes i mean what would make even the social media possess. This is a good idea this rain here. People are talking about her doing this. This is why they do it. But i mean for her to write that that statement astor if i were i would be very upset at the first the first of all. I'm still unclear charisma. To your point about what leasing her social media out means like to me. It sounds like she allows other people to go on it and post on behalf of her but just on behalf of what they think is like. I don't know just determine a little confusing hard to follow. I don't think brandi glanville type of personality as we've seen many times over like put her foot in something and then take it out and be like i didn't mean to do that. I think she sees things through. So i believe her when she says i wasn't aware what was going on but i just think it's also one of those things that's like why this is like another little thing that brandies attached to that like. She didn't mean anything by but like now. Everyone's speculating insensitive. Don't you guys thing. Set the th. That should not have no women. No none of the women should be talking about erica. Cajones divorce on their social media. That can be on the show dealt with on the show reportedly win a celebrity has a lincoln their bio. It can usually mean that they're getting paid for the post. And i just checked right before we came on the air. The lincoln brand new bios till goes to this story. She didn't website I'll double check. The website will pay you to post for them. I have friends that are in acquaintances. That are famous and relatively known people that i talked to on a weekly basis. And of course i hear gossip about them all the time. I never bring it up until they bring it up. Because i never know win. Our how are what they want to talk about. So i'm going to bring it up not gonna bring it up. Panning could be the camera like here. This why it's still linking to it. Okay so i'm very confused on. If she really is sorry didn't mean to lease it out. Why still keep it in the bio. Unless like she has a contract with celebres and she needs to keep it up there for certain amount of hours. Something along those lines to nevada those votes. Because you're looking way too deep. Today's use your tactic somewhere else where it's day. I'm just curious. Okay well good news you guys. Maybe bad news. I dunno depends on how you feel about the whole relationship and the whole situation but we just got some photos of bachelorette clare crawley that. We have to talk about claire. Who spotted in her hometown rocky and massive diamond ramo on that finger. John don't do it like no. Don't talk about the shape of the rig. You know. I mean these married. Here's the thing that's definitely a wedding ring or engagement ring She knows she's going to be photographed. She knows we're going to speculate about that isn't the isn't the again. I'm not the biggest bachelor person in the world but isn't the point to like keep the end result of what happens to you completely secret until the series is wrapped. I don't think she really cares. Guys this really crazy that's right. I don't think she gives a shit. And i think the reason is. I don't think leaving the show was her choice. I've looked back and looked at this. Producer are abc executive. Did this podcast with nick. Vile and in the podcast. They talked about clare crawley and the producer said and i quote when she gave herself. The group rose because dell wasn't in the group that's when we started making the call. So i think at that point clare. Crawley was told. You might have to leave with dale this unacceptable. And you have to go. If they're going to break the contract and break the rules. I'm gonna do the same damn thing and i'm going to rub it in their basis. I found love and i. That's a good point because typically the reason why is because they are under contract and they can truly get sued if they let the cat out of the bag too soon. Isn't that's why there's sometimes photos so adamant about keeping secrets but you may have good argument there. If they if she feels that she could that they've worked the contract. I ending her season. Then she might say all bets off. Y'all can just no. I did damn thing now. Do you think she actually went through and got married forty. She's just letting everybody else because also that's that's public record right like if people get married. That's the bachelor does not control the courts like we. We could look that up. It's interesting. I think if things were so bad obviously. This season has taken a turn. That i don't think anybody has seen it bachelor history. I can't believe. I just said bachelor history a cod my street. Anyway so i don't. We've never seen this in the past. But i don't think. I think if there was such tension between her and This show we would hear more about that. Obviously we've heard about her leaving. I don. I don't know. I think it just keeps people engaged.

Every time I go out of the nest you've got to go up to the fifth floor which is just above the blanket frozen air you see when the Earth got cold all the water in the air froze. I made a blanket about ten feet thicker so and then down on top of that draft all the crystals of frozen air making another blankets. Sixty or seventy feet. Thick came out of the window us on the fifth floor and started a scoop up the air into my pay. Had it about full when my fingers are getting pretty cold and I saw something. Hey It's a light darn kicked over. The bucket. Can't be a light moving around a window like this can't be mine. Pod sister back in the nest. I'm up here and there can't be anyone else. "Because Crawley's were circulated first because crawl these are circulated first they're deemed to be good everybody's were circulated after that but the same people were taken off the crawl these just lucky that he got these goods to circulate the previous petitions before the other people got wet and higher Gerald Jones of the bunch of the circulated petitions the people who argue that Solomon should be able to stay on the ballot add to the Kennedy should stay on the ballot stated the campaigns themselves did nothing wrong but the improper conduct occurred from the nomination petition circulated that they would also argue it's the voters that should decide who the county executive is it not some bureaucrat looking get NIT picky little rules with regard to circulators the flipside position would beat the whites clear eyed this even though the candidates didn't know that they were doing anything wrong they hired someone who is doing something wrong you can have somebody circulate nominating petitions for more than one candidate for the same office black and white law they got to be taken off now the big winner of course is the Lipscomb who's a big time left in the chairman of the County Board he might not become the county executive because he was able to find this mistake that was made by these other campaigns to get these other two candidates start off the ballot you still have the state senator lefty Chris Larson running for county executive in a couple of other candidates but this is a multi candidate race and undeniably two of the strongest candidates are knocked off the thing and the less comes the guy that challenged the nominating petitions in the first place and he's the big winner by taking off people who are probably going to compete for the same group of voters that he was going after so that's the first part of this in the case of David can you just came up short by three signatures of the number that you need after some of the signatures were struck off and sometimes in your circulate these things what happens is people who don't live in the city I mean you could see how this happens somebody lives of like on the light and while the torso they sign their name the circulated doesn't know what the address is in the city or not you get somebody who signs okay one guy circulates the petitions somebody else circulates but this is a guy signs to different but it petitions it becomes a double signature and so what so that's why David king got knocked off for me or for the other thing it's this unusual situation OB three candidates for the same office all hired the same people to circulate petitions which you can't kill so without regard whether or not you think the voters should be denied the opportunity to vote for these candidates for office or not there is a separate issue here that I am raising right now and that is the process that was used by this agency that was constant Election Commission to decide which way to go on this now remember what I told you before whose side the Election Commission three Republicans three Democrats the Republicans two of them have in the past sided with Democrats which is why we have this lawsuit going over following the separate state law with regard to removing from the voter rolls people up will be changed addresses which is state law that they decided not to follow so the decision comes today to the Election Commission should we take these names off the ballot as I said there's a full time staff at Madison and then the commission itself has three Republicans and three Democrats that want you to think during the break therefore how they what about the process of deciding whether or not to remove these names on the ballot in Milwaukee because the way you would think that they would do what is not what they did and the way it was done is something that I am going to raise questions about here we're only talking about the most important thing that a government does which is deciding who could run for public office in who cannot and as long as we've had an agency that's ready elections the state of Wisconsin there has been controversy over it and I think you will find that the way that this decision was that today is extremely controversial and I think wrong without regard to whether or not the decision that was reached was right or not four forty six news talk eleven thirty WYSP time for rapid traffic.

"Crawley household prepares for a visit by Britain's King George the fifth and Queen Mary. I am fit are you. we have a common to admitted to him back to use this device if you like of the royal visit which does affect everybody even if some characters like myself you know of a supposed not to share their enthusiasm or excitement it's a triumph of Hugh Bonneville plays lord Grantham Leslie Nicole is Mrs Pat more the cook are you breaking some kind of social taboo by sitting together for this interview never done this have we we do have a we have actually done much of this together in six years so it's nice to handle the scenes together with him yeah so it's nice to be acquainted of set but you do come together in this storyline the great trick of Julian Fellowes out of Russia and created all gold is that in the film version the house is United you know that the teams but but I want about just as a United. can look after you. can say for. just like the old days actors Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery portray sisters Peter and Mary Crawley it's kind of the shoe on the other foot is in it for the yeah for the Crawley family exactly and I think it's fun to see them in that position where they're having to cater for the teen queen and and every single character has a different role to play within not so I think to the end did such an incredible job of doing that you know having this you know one main narrative if this big event happening and then weaving in and out each character is kind of sub plot and what he does so cleverly in the film I did get eighty six if meeting the characters again nine he say good is it and getting you right back in that the film is inspired by a real royal event in nineteen twelve King George and Queen Mary visited Yorkshire England where the fictional Downton is set the Royals are coming so there are no longer the top of the heap they on knowledge you know they'll just a noble family in the north and it is a great honor that the king and queen that coming to the house how important with that to you in the scheme of figuring this I like the idea that they had to pull out if we stop the truth is he's in a sort of trance. would you help me I feel I'm pushing a rock hill how to be there in the morning. family element is important not only about says but below as well although enough blood relations there was a family kind of. vibe to it and and that's universal how much of a departure do you think the Downton abbey idea is from the way it really was back in the day yeah there's no question this is a fictionalized rose tinted view of a tiny sliver of society I don't paper of course it's structure that is and if no apologies becuz yes certainly and has sort of no merit to it it's because it's all about where you were born in life do some kind of proof because I checked inheritance and who deserves one is a subplot Julien writes from a position of respect for his characters and there is a within that there's a sense of. if not decency than tolerance and compassion and so our audience is reversed I've responded to that it's set to warm environment this movie when you can watch it it feels like some really well can light relief to quote Tennyson kind hearts a more than coronets and simple faith the Norman blocked me you have enough cliches to get you through the visit. if not I'll come to you and I watched the movie for the first time as the lights went down by the shoulders Nutri relaxed not so I'm going somewhere that is just a bit kinda is because.

"Let's to working for the national fire so it was it was kind of fun of in a way so really dirt those great. I'm because I could say as I was reading. I would really say your experiences journalist trying not to be salacious in anyway. Try to really balance that I think too by the way I knew that must have been a difficult thing to right now. I think you did a great job and I I was very critical reason it not not a view but because because people had told me about what was going on with I say I say his name different because I'm British but but but you you know I said to me a million things about the guy on I try. I really do try to reserve judgment until I see evidence of Samoan. People will say this this person in emphasize awful this pace Don't trust them. I really do try to be as open minded as possible so when I had it all this stuff I kinda thought I've I've had this about a few people in the business and maybe it's exactly and then gene and Ole evidence suggests and you know and I'm sure the guy was you didn't apologize but I think he puts out the everything's true or at least a lot of it is true insent lease sort of fuel in the whole mess so you know it was just delicious to me to have the story Sumter by somebody writes really well unto kind of and I could see that you were trying to be balanced about it but this is the these this is the evidence. This is what we've seen and I really thank you for me. I mean I know it's ongoing so this is not this is a saga that is not ending rice. Yeah Yeah I fully expect you know why even worse things to happen to his life in the future because he invited set like he's. He's probably he's. He's not necessarily I it so. He's probably smoking bad fees. Probably you know involved in drug dealing. You know he's probably you might be involved in the firearms trade or whatever the man that is just a walkie disaster. I mean right now. He's positioned himself as a crypto currency markets basically and he has an following of people who think they're going to get rich quick on cripple currency. Yeah Yeah say this kind of just just Nisa finishes. I told you for ages. I loved to talk to you again. I think that inspired you. You've got the patients but one of the things I it's like it kind of brings up a really good a points finish out which is y'all in the business of reporting. Fox a copy out on the issues of the day and it's the sort of brings defects as well. It's it's what you believe you know to be because at the end of the day he he could put some bit. I sort of it. Even I think he's talking about mixing cocktails jokes or something which I genuinely in my head so this is a spoof right. This cannot be real because why would you do that. Why would anybody do that and I think just to end on on the McAfee thing. It kind of brings everything back about is it real is is it not real is the myth. Can we trust what we hear. It sort of makes me think although I know you said this is the closest you get to national inquire into your role to your job to your profession is innocent. You know but you know I just signed a contract with conspiracy. Act Eugene Kaspersky is the other mentor you are software and he's a dignified man who lives a you know. He keeps his personal personal life private. There's no solut- salacious gossip about him and I'm very proud to be working for conspiracy now but awed but I mean they're the two inventors event virus software John McAfee in the United States an Eugene Kaspersky in Russia and and the fact that Eugene Kaspersky is a guy who lives a quiet life but John McAfee is a walking disaster stor. It's mindblowing well. You know I am a table. All I'm glad is the documentaries ferrall information unfor pleasure as a as readers on him. I really was very happy that you agreed to come on and I told you again for ages. We all kind of out of time name but I'm glad that you're the documents this. If you'll have the patience to talk to the gay appear on the human factor security podcast we would love to have you but for now thank you so much for coming on and talking to me today. "If if a cyber attack hits your ps four it could mean that a cyber hacker could see you playstation camp so by only having having my playstation camera connected when using I've what were described as I've lowered my attack surface. I have a few external hard drives. I use with my work. They are only connected to my. PC when I'm transferring data absolutely so I have some very sensitive data on my external hard drives and the file system come on the trip did but by only having by external hard drives connected to my pc when I'm transferring data and and then dismounting disconnecting when I'm done. I've also Lord my tax cuts. so you decide what technology you want to integrate and cheer life in what sort of willing to take. It's a choice you know. rights choice thing as long as there is a choice. We don't do it blindly. That's what so the best that we can expect that that's a conscious sort of a conscious decision. Paste the less visible decisions. It seems to be made without consent. You mentioned big data at all over people have sort of consensus own off the Dow's things ready you don't realize the extent and what it could mean for them passively as well as on a bigger scale exactly we were all easily trackable trackable now our phones have GPS interfaces. I actually wrote published on peerless low while I asked a bunch of people in my field do cybersecurity professionals let their phones tracks them and I've decided to do personally as I have an android phone and I kinda like leading Google maps. CRM sometimes before to open Google maps in I live in Toronto and I can see a were about cintron. I've been going here in there if I go. Oh to the shopping mall Google maps will show me a motorist. If I am walking down a major streak Google maps will tell me which restaurants are around and what sort of reviews people giving them and I know though by doing if I was wanted by police uh-huh Google would cooperate with them to to figure out where my physical locations rice and I mean it's useful in essence eh social engineering you mentioned m episodes but a lot of the people don't realize check into things like the fitness ops and the when people run to fitness which is something. I I just really don't I started either. I I can't understand it in the same. I understand any anyone enjoying doing any sport. I can see that it's fun. I can see that they like that. I don't hate it but but it would be probably my time whatever but but it's the patent and I think like you do speak about sixty elegy in psychology and and obviously that's a scenario interest professional interested and it's patterns all the time and in some ways people competing technologies to me they truck the patterns and it's the parents that mashing the humans as well and I think that's something that you bring up very well but I particularly like okay. I'm we're going to ask me this and you don't have to answer. If you don't want to answer you. Just let me know. We'll add it but anyway 'cause. I read your stove on some of the stuff that that I read. There are two audibles to things you've written about recently that I m my favorite things that you've ever written the first one is your pieces sundeep fakes and your views on debates on the on the second is Yo- pieces on John McAfee and if you don't want to speak about McCaffrey that's fine bye bye were to talk about him. CADDY toss okay. I didn't know whether to finish on that may be. Maybe let's talk a little bit about defects just in the in the context of what you've been saying. Let's get into your John McAfee pieces because I love it so offensive or defects rarely does so money extremes of thinking on this topic and I felt that you balanced it really out so that recently just talked about your views on this some district the ESPN writes in about first of all deep fakes so TIRR listeners who don't know what it deep fake is is. I took computer simulated video or some other simulation likes that and looks real but it isn't the kind of deep fakes that are being created right now. Look like a center live action videos yeah the examples. That's easy to find on the on the Internet and I think I petted into my periods piece. You did the food but it is country is exciting facebook. CEO Mark Zuckerberg released video a few months ago where he was talking about how facebook cares about your privacy and someone who is cynical about Mark Zuckerberg facebook because cynical I am they used machine learning a and they they rendered that video using the movements and Mark Zuckerberg's face his and his voice in the audio to manipulate that to make it look like he's saying something completely different. He's admitting admitting that facebook doesn't give enough about your privacy. Mark Zuckerberg would never do that. Let the video looked authentic. bryce could pull someone. That's really scary because as ours writing about in my piece where the general public they're now while aware sure that still images are digitally altered yet 'cause you foot this is so great and we'll put a link to Kim's piece in the show notes but if you haven't haven't read this this is amazing. We've got came on the cover of vogue and Jesus everyone's looking to Ariana Grande. You've missed me but your point and and you also use which makes me just get loose She was walking thirty guys guys. You're supposed to say that sorry everybody can refer to. She was the the case of the causing fairies which if you normally with was what was the case in in England longtime ago of fake images right and in photographs the convinced everyone at the time came yeah in twenty nine hundred nineteen we know when we look at an image in the magazine or advertisement ties or on the web we know that this digitally altered we know that that stars complexion isn't perfectly clear and their waste isn't that tiny but in nineteen seventeen photography was only a few decades old and people saw that all photographs were sensitive but what the girls who made the cotton whatever fairy spoof images did was cut images of fairies storybooks and a tape them to photographs that they took them in the backyard to make and then they took another photo of and this was very early analog photo at it yeah and they made it look like they're ferries in their garden and they were talking and it was huge our people back then right but but when you progress that article he's case we're critical thinkers about images as we know that those images are ulcers but then some of the clips that you put in the OSCO to show the way video could be all over the way you know it used. I used to examples that was just amazing to me like never seen which is of the Japanese popstars. I think I'm going to get the rain probably get rumbled AGAI- asserts writing soon EMECO Hologram. I mean I love this. I think Oh gosh this is amazing. Yeah we'll finally lifting in the future. This is awesome but then directly on you put the an-and. I'd never seen it to thank you. Forget me to that but then the the video below it was to park a was it a Coachella yeah. I think it was Coachella two thousand fourteen on nuts. That's that to me is he might never wanted to. That's always dad obviously a big conspiracy theorist which is different but I mean he might not want to play Coachella. I'm yet. They used onstage saying hey coach l. Having in all my God sorry I'm taking away your I'm being. I'm seventy asked because I looked much. I'm taking away your point so please let me now that we have holographic technology gene that can make it look like someone is performing on stage and the person that you're looking at they're not displayed on some sort of screen. They are being Hoe graphically projected into midair right. We had the and also if you look at it from different angles that Hologram is three read. I mentioned all so. It's not a flat image. It's a three dimensional. Hologram ad looks really realistic yet so my concern. Sern is if they merged that technology with the machine learning deep fake technology yeah. You could see what what looks like people in real life doing things but they're not real. Yes so thinking imagine the cyber tat also abilities of that you know someone that you live with someone makes a Hologram that person that you live with they walk into your living room and they say I need your credit card or something yeah their spouse so you're like sure here's my credit card number at it turns out there fishing it's GonNa be I'm being asked to comment on this all the time from a social engineering perspective. I'm from a criminal perspective. I'm familiar. It's they're all comments. I was vague on that but I think what you said was very I. It's more how quickly this is coming out quickly. The technology is sort of rapidly. Jump Open tool. It's been so commonplace being something that everyone accepts but I had to get you talking about. It can cause God that was amazing. I looked at I'm going to sort of what you can clean. I mean cannot can I then. We don't have too long left so what she this was. I was poking about one nice on social media and I am popped up on my feet at I am. Juveniles selected may finish deface not look to probably talk to you about that again at some point if you're willing but pops up on my feet it was a video of Joma cafe seemed to be in some Soda Prison salinated saints into the camera I sorta and then once I clicked on the algorithm kicks in on everything fee for this is John McAfee and that I read your pieces but your story about this list ongoing on extraordinary thank you but I mean it is though I mean. Can you kind of involved. I mean she wanted to clarify so I don't make it sounds long as much as I love talking about the technicalities of hardware uh-huh software and computer networks whatnot honestly I really loved celebrity gossip to at that's my guilty pleasure absolutely to on cast I listened to the most often or all dedicated to what's going on with Britney Spears way okay so John. McAfee is one of the adventures antivirus software. He hasn't had anything anything to do with McAfee antivirus for couple of decades now show he so he washed his hands of by the man who was wanted the adventures of antivirus software. He's the cyber security fields equivalent of Charlie Sheen so this guy's walking disaster a coke head. He loves collecting guns. He loves flashing his guns around. I got into that whole McAfee story because someone who was his former mistress was aiming that maxine Z. Made a sex slave out of Rome was raping her whatnot which which is tech which is really serious and really awful. I mean Oh my God right. Yeah and I feel very deeply when women are subject to rape. I mean it's horrible. It's a matter that should be taken more seriously of call by. I had my friends who were forensics. Ahead them and lies is all kinds of emails back and forth between her and John the Kathy jump Kathy's addressed by the way and also also I interviewed a lot of other people were close to on that and they said that this woman was just scamming him for money and ninety nine point nine nine nine nine nine percent of the time when someone says they were rate believe them of course so I absolutely absolutely hated writing about someone who's lying about embrace because it reinforces idea that women who say they were raped her lying to get something the someone but this was one in a million situation where someone actually was lying about it. Didn't she sort of ask you to pass. It really personally intervened and get it out. Didn't she say she needs to get out of it. You have to personally hell. I'm sort of some some sort of super hacker. We're who can like John Math feel what whatever I I I mean and his former mistress looks pretty bad know this but he looks pretty bad and all this too because he invited this into his life. His former mistress is someone someone who's kind of a professional rich person scour she goes into the hamptons which is like a wealthy holiday area outside of New York City as she finds rich people and she tries to scam them out of money somewhere other and I'm her previous criminal activity has been reported what about in the mainstream media over the past twenty years or so so she has a long record of of stuff like that and none of this other than the fact that I had digital forensics experts allies all this and other than the fact that John McAfee is one of the inventors of antivirus software. It doesn't really have anything to do with cyber security other than that so when I write about stuff like that that's the closest by job ever gets..

"This deficit's guest at someone news follow on just was so delighted the cheeky to come on sale before I go any further welcome to the podcast came croly holy. It's a pleasure being here Jen Jen Jennifer. How should I call you. I'm Jan Channel Janis fine. I was never Jennifer but I'm General Janis Brilliant Pancake okay. I'll call you again. Thanks for coming on answering my questions for those of you. Don't know Kim she. She's already well new writer in attack and information mation security space that I was just looking to introduce you at every can have all the different places that you rightful but first stop. We've got tripwire alien vault silence silence at sea. CSI Trust factor PALEST. I mean you write for a lot of publication yeah as I've really enjoyed enjoyed working for ailing involved they were recently acquired by at and T. and rebranded as at and T. cybersecurity show show. I should have said that I did no no. It's it's okay I don't I don't expect you to keep up with all the corporate acquisitions and whatnot you nick very prolific writer. There's an icee lots and lots of articles. Is this something that you always wanted to 'cause. You must enjoy to do that much. Where so much stuff that you put out their tax rents. Did you always enjoy not yeah. I was very lucky in the the early nineteen ninety s back when I was a little girl my father was a novelist okay and he was always writing novels working from home and I grew up with the idea that writing can be someone's job okay which which is lucky right because I gas now people have to land not with the fact that content creation is such a huge pall of of of the industry now something that you didn't have to kind of Leno don't justify I grew up writing basically might my dad taught me from the beginning when very young he also had a windows. PC and so when I was little I would troubleshoot his problems with windows three point one while Mike said that fixes like printer port windows issues stuff like that and so the combination of the two do things my dad being a writer and my dad bringing modern. PC's and the Internet to our home earlier than a lot of homes it really elite it gave me an advantage to do now my family back from nineteen ninety four onward Ciccio Land Online to do do things or 'cause. That's very young to build might to be honest. I've met eight-year-olds the conflicts by computer problems better than me but I mean this is Dan Dan. I mean back then. Were you googling things or how did you land. Google didn't exist until like I was in high school like until till I was a teenager but I mean I mean you looking online fifth. Articles is among the eastern search engines books. I don't know I think doc I explored. Let me play around with his computer a lot when he was writing yeah. I was very fortunate to have early access. I mean now now. You've got three-year-old a year old using ipads right but in nineteen ninety-three either were a lot of children using windows peaks and accessing the Internet so I was very privileged to have that sort of access. I'm was that marriage in school. No no computer. I didn't have computer class essence school until I was about for and I didn't really think we were using like printshop applications. We didn't get into that computer programming or how input peripherals were or how operating systems were. I teach myself so it's a good thing that I was able to teach myself because thirty years of teaching myself has led to this and CICCIO will than early age that you wanted to work with computers and Rice about it or did you have ambitions to do different things no because I oh I think back then of a computer nerd was a man so that was one problem to overcome the other was my a teacher when I was nine ten years old told me Kimberly. If you WANNA work with computers you have to be a mess with Rice there. There are some computer technology jobs that do require you to be a math whiz like if you're a cryptographer for instance or if you work in simply blue language but in most areas of computing if you have just a basic numeracy you should generally be okay right eight and I must say I mean I'm a lot older than me but I that was something that Iowa so as well. I mean I remember when I first to meet people in the industry industry. You know hackers in programming or whatever however they kind of identified themselves to me. I thought that I thought these are all ridiculously talented right. I really felt that that was not that I was in any way but thought it was me as well yeah but I mean you're the name of your show is human factor security which suggests that cyber security security and information security general has a humanities bent to it. It's about people the field of psychology and sociology apology our applicable to the understanding of cyber security cyber security is where the humidity's meets technology and in how human beings interface with technology right and that's one of the big focuses of all your pieces. You always bring gain. It's one of the reasons I like Strips Emmerson. I follow jeep in the days. When I found you. You know it was it was also calls as often. You can do right very technical talk six but I noticed that you say I think he said it was your that your signature barrel of the thing that distinct she is the writer is your interest in the people side of things right you you feel that this this synergy definitely definitely. I mean I think most cyber-attacks has an element of social on January at some point or another a Trojan fools a human being into thinking that they want this web page or they want the software off where when it's actually go fishing fools people with emails text messages and web pages is into thinking they're legitimate entities. I mean that's all human psychology. That's all manipulating human beans right but I mean I. I always felt felt that I feel like we accept this now in the community. It's something that you know. Obviously it's what I talk about all the time. I really didn't get the impression crash that that was the case not just wondering if outside of a all Korea's in in the industry whether that's one of the barriers to people really becoming engaged you know and things like awareness or whatever you know I think I think the general perception is still. This is a very technical thing. It's all about codes in computers and I think even what you said about it. Mostly being man working in the industry I am just taking aside the imbalances in gender that type of thing. I still think that's what people outside the industry. Imagine the industries like yeah very technical very sort of probably mathematically based in some way male. Hollywood doesn't help right. I think the portrayal of cybersecurity hackers and whatnot I think it's improved recently especially with shows like Mister robot what but most depictions of cybersecurity hackers in Hollywood are things like in the Angelina the Jolie movie hackers who in the late nineties where hacking is all about typing faster than the other guy and if you can died four one hundred words per minute than you're ahead of the game I type at forty words per minute and I don't have a hover board but you know I do i. I was thinking about Mr on high as soon as you said that because we I sometimes I need to start again. We I used to tweets alongs. I used to say look everybody press play and I'm still able to not sodas. I still found myself saying press play on the tape. Would you believe let's start. Watching is now and talk about it. We're going to do again because it's which phone but I was thinking about you not because I think on the one hand all the time I guess I can tell you can sort of enjoy the sort of popular coaches side of it on one hand but then clearly frustration and when it comes to professionally that's what you're saying yeah and there are other problems like for the corporate websites that I work for the blogs folks for tech companies like F- Anafi. NATO and T- cyber security in blackberry silence they've got their own graphic design people and and they come up with their own graphics my work and they are great job by when I write on peerless I have to come up with my own graphics right right and to make things as easy as possible. I go into databases of public domain images and most of the public domain images when you pull up search terms like hackers cyber security whatnot you see a Guy Ryan Hoodie right a lot of the time and that's if you ask layperson what is the hacker looked like that's what they imagine and the stock photography. That's the reinforces that image yeah let me say all the time and in the same in the exact same thing Ninh of every time I must do told the client I mean if I'd have three or four in the last couple of weeks where being booked to do talks on social engineering and they want me to call it or they. They preface it with the weakest link because it's just shorthand that they know that as you say people people don't in the industry are GonNa know exactly what I'm wherever I go. It's just a good shorthand but it it creates this problem and at least we kind of turn the question. I was dying to another problem of Soda Cliches in the industry. Okay and I wanted to SORTA cliches. The part from the ones who've just talked about a moth beams and thanks for straight you still after all these years right in this great staff in the industry. I think people's idea of what a hacker or Cyber Tucker looks like is outdated. She'll they think it might being some kidney hoodie in their mom's basement typing four hundred words per minute or whatever the greatest cyber threats out there right now our military cyber warfare units and advanced persistent threat groups. AP Teas that are very often the same groups the people there cyberwarfare groups. They're funded by the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars and the Internet turn debt is their battlefield basically and ordinary people in small businesses very often become their collateral damage right and the not expected it right because they still think it's a teenager a male teenager block odeon so it's hard for us to convince that do you find. Maybe I find that people think I'm completely paranoid and that's why we started. The spinoff of this podcast called the Tinfoil hat club. We started it because we just went with the paranoids theory. You know because it's it's just so prevalent exactly and people might not up be aware of what the risks are and if you're thinking about it as an individual consumer for instance a law of the risks asks are out of our hands individuals of their lot of cybersecurity problems for instance that facebook and Google introduced into our lives lives with their data breaches and how they solar data and pretty much everyone uses social media these days and and a lot of people can't avoid using social media at our data is in their hands and what a data breach happens to them. mm or a data breach happens to many other different types of companies. There isn't a whole lot that we can do about that. That's in the hands of corporations it so there's a lot that we can do to security hardened our own endpoints by end points. I leaned. PC's phones that sort of thing but it's not completely in our hands we're all vulnerable to some extent no matter how hard we tried to secure own computer technology technology absolutely and and I went with yourself did you. This is all trying on am but I get the feeling but I read your often. I look at you and thanks Jay. This is all true but I feel like He finds excited like this is still exciting times to be in. I mean I know the threat dangerous a negative the issues but it does something about being in this issue that makes it quite exciting. What would you say that that was true. I I wouldn't have been able to get as far as I have working for as many companies like as I do if it didn't interest me. It's very difficult to become knowledgeable in an area that you're not interested in. I I do realize human impact of what I'm writing about yeah. I was just thinking a little earlier today. I thought how cynical I'm getting from writing about data breaches. My latest piece reset was just published blackberry silence. His blog today was about medical insurance company in the United States that had a data breach right bryce and the victims of that data breach could not have the void now. You have to go to the doctor. You have to go to the hospital. You don't have too many options about that. If you want to stay healthy and stay alive that data was in another party's hands and they they didn't secure the sensitive medical data well enough and now all of a sudden all that sensitive medical data is in the hand of cyberattacks captors. It's interesting to me that because the amount of preaches onto incidents that you could choose to write about is so broad what what is it that makes an incident sort of breach. Catch your eye sometimes the sheer numbers overwhelm the perfect speech involved at least tens tens of millions of people. The breach that I wrote about that was published on silence is blog today affected about fifteen thousand people when I look at the data breaches that involve merger Denver's victims that definitely has an emotional impact job me and and I propose to talk to an upcoming cybersecurity event. I don't know it's GonNa get approved or not but in the premise of it is from what I.
