What Is Going on With OnlyFans?

"I was going to talk about the events situation at the top of this week. Show but the only fan situation seems resolved itself only fans is a platform where people can subscribe to content creators who then share exclusive photos and videos on the side. It's a site worth billions. Thanks to the sex workers and porn performer. The platform marketed itself to recruited when it first launched in two thousand sixteen and then a week ago only fans announced it was banning all sexually explicit content from its site because banks credit card. Companies processors were forcing them to they reversed course in a week. Only fans turned around and said a week later. Basically we hear you and announced that they weren't gonna ban sexually explicit content after all and would no longer be pivoting who. I don't know what what they plan to pivot to the week. Before last based tune teenagers doing lip syncs and cooking tutorials and other shit people can get for free on youtube and dick doc right now. How are you going to make money at that. But that was their plan a week and a half ago. What seems to have made the difference here. And what. I see as a sign of real progress the new york times washington post. Cnn daily papers. Npr mainstream publications went to sex workers and porn stars to get quotes about how only fans was doing to them. What facebook and instagram and craigslist had already done to them and how this being driven off the internet was making their lives harder and sex work more dangerous not a radical sex work not ending it just making it more dangerous. That's new and it made a huge difference. Abigail higgins has a terrific piece at the lily. Sex workers rallied together when only fans band sexually explicit content. They believed their voices are finally being heard. That's the headline. go read it. I'm not the only one who thinks that this new development reporters talking to sex workers about sex work is making a difference is creating some sort of seismic shift some

"In the premier league manchester city once that close to winning the title after two victory against aston villa. Okay sorry they all right sitting there not quite there swashbuckling. Best offer for ask if you don the show. That's why i was confused. I think all kicked off with the england game at wembley where he was dwelling on the ball. And you get caught and then a couple of long bulbs against leeds on the champions league game against dortmund and then you go without ball over the top today. Quick freaky deal with and then obviously had red card. So i think that would be worried that that okay koerbel cup final now because of the suspension but when it gets to the knockout games in the champions league it could be the second leg of semifinal. What does the all important stolen have played pretty much. Microsoft Is in Exclusive Talks to Acquire Discord

"Microsoft has been in talks to buy scored for ten billy billion dollars. That is a big big number and most people don't even know it. Discordance through in this podcast. Why they wanna buy what. This court is a little bit of the history here and what. We think the downstream second order effects of this purchase might be discord of course is a text based messaging app. Most people would just compare it straight up to slack slack for enterprise discord kind of for everything else especially gaming and a server on discord is essentially the equivalent of a workspace on slack. So you start a server about a topic and you saw this kinda grow out of read it. A lot of great things will grow out of craigslist or read it kind of the platforms that have established themselves in reached critical mass also twitter so clubhouse built off the back of the social graph on twitter. Obviously read it. has been building basically disc without even knowing it because people who are on a message board me. They want to have a real time discussion. It's all very geeked out but there is something to it and the software is quite elegant. I will say it's a little bit hard to get. Your head around dischord when you first get on there. Because it's got a lot of power user features so in june of twenty twenty after covid hit discord capitalized on the stay at home orders. They changed their tagline. Simply to your place to talk and of course they allow voice as well as taxed about. I think most people are doing text. I actually don't know actually. What percentage of tax versus audio. I'm pretty sure it's going to be mostly taxed. And so they're targeting things like books music art. tv shows. Notches gamers anymore. Prepare To Work Hard and Find Your Niche with Rebecca Smith

"Let's talk about what who you are how you got online and what your favorite platforms are. So let's start there. yes. I'm originally from england. I came to america. Twenty two to get my commercial pilot's license. Because i thought that was how is gonna travel around the world but it turns out when you get you commercial pilot's license. You don't get to go to bali short trip so hang on a second. This isn't quite what i signed up for. But i did my training in long beach and i grew up watching laguna hills on mtv. And i was like one day lauren. Conrad and i'm gonna drive down h. And i'm going to be in my convertible. We're gonna have lunch together. And so. I always have that vision of wanting to live in southern california. I didn't realize that a pilot's license was going to be the thing that got me here. But when i got here i fell in love and i didn't end up becoming a pilot. I got my whole license but came to america on an old one visa and started to go jobs like this. British jackson turns out a lot of british people. Thinking the same thing in la special. But i did go for an audition to be on a youtube channel and that was probably about ten years ago now nine ten years ago and i got the audition and i found out that my one talent in life is talking and working out at the same time. I can do that all day long. So i started working for a channel on youtube. Grew it to like three million subscribers. We eighteen months. I got paid forty dollars per episode but it was just the excitement of being part of youtube and it was workout videos. And i found something that i knew. This was my thing after about a year and a half. They decided they didn't want to film anymore. I didn't understand why no problem and it took me about a year and a half to get my confidence to fill my own channel and have my own videos now. Been doing that for coming on six seven years. I've got my own fitness that we have a pocus. I just had a best selling book and life is great. But it's really been a lot of grit determination and hard work. But now i'm in a place. Where just loving life and just enjoying everything that's happening so talk to us about the. What is the team. Look like to be able to build videos and editing and all that stuff. What does that look like when you when you start when somebody says okay. I want to assemble cheang because nobody talks about the team. The talking about you should do this. Here's the tactics. let's start there. I love that question. And it's so funny because i think it's always something that i'm working on so i do have a team now but when i'm very first study doing youtube and i still have my camera like a souvenir i had one hundred and fifty dollar sony camera setup on a tripod and i would shoot myself and i had the camera and i didn't realize until about six months later that you could flip the camera so that you can actually see yourself so no joke i would get into the show. I would do my jumping. Jacks put my arms in the air go round replay double check that i was in frame and then go back again. Yes you guys were always learning. So there's a war you if you have a flip camera that you can actually build meals but we didn't have fancy iphones back then. So this hundred and fifty dollars. Sony camera and then as i started to get more things coming on i would have insurance and are actually find people of craigslist. That's where i found most of my employees. Because i have much money at the beginning to help so i started to get people who would do things like my cleaning and my laundry so that i could spend time on that so it was like. Where can i navigate my time. Where is it best spent. And what can i delegate to other people with the money that i have like that sits like what do you have and use that phospholipids. Six years of having this company. I now have a full app team. I have somebody that does my emails. I have a chief business officer. I have a video an editor a personal assistant. Somebody puts all the input in the app. And has that runs my social media and mound. My mom is also working for me. So like i have like nine ten people that a part of my team but at the beginning i did everything i edited did. The blogs did the calendar. Absolutely everything and as things got better. I've been able to bring more people on at a different level. So okay she craigslist. So what did you do run on ad on craigslist. Or he just started surfing people on the job descriptions and setting the messages in. How did you know even how to lead them. You know what i mean like. That's like all right now. we're i. This was hilarious. This more. No kidding this is talk about the flip. The camera thing. I had the flip the camera moment this morning. I'm driving down the street. And i own a virtual system company fifty voice. Okay i own want. And i literally. I'm driving down the street. And i'm talking to the woman who is running dot company. 'cause i don't run that company at all. I have one meeting a week. And i don't run the company and i said wait a minute as a as a running strategy for that committed. Why is my company. The other company hardcore business. Why are we looking for social media. People to post are to put my social media. Team is like all of a sudden decide to be trainers and they're all gone right and there's all happened like the last six weeks and so i find myself postings or outdated like eight figure company and i'm back to posting right and i go. Why am i looking for a virtual assistant. Why don't you go find me. Virtual system works. That would be great for this job and so you know sometimes the common sense is in common and you know one of the things i think you probably develop skills on is like Like okay we find them on craigslist or wherever. And how do you get over the hump of not knowing how to lead them or what to ask them to do so for me. I've done everything in my business. So i knew how to set up even the web stuff. I knew how to write a blog. I learned all the skills myself then. I put an ad out honestly. It was for like an intern. Like hey social media person needs how with you know inputting blogs or whatever was the i was doing. I basically wrote my own job description of what i needed. Help with like you need any experience because at the time the people that i was hiring work. Twenty twenty one twenty two. Because i couldn't afford to pay them. You know somebody who was thirty five and had ten years of experience in like managing a team. So i like she learned all the skills myself i would put an ad out and then i would meet them nor at my house but like a nice cafe because it looked better right. So i do these interviews and i have interviewed. I've really got it down. At the beginning. I was interviewing like ten fifteen people a day for two days straight instead of just doing a quick zun things like oh. It's right in front of us. Why don't you just young paul with them because you know in the first i believe ten seconds if this is going to be the right person for you like with. It's just a feeling and for me. It didn't matter about how much experience they had. It was if i liked you and if we connected and if we gelled so like great i like you. You're a cool person. I'm gonna have you come in and then we're going to do an internship so for a couple of weeks just to see if you've got it and you know we're right fit. I'm gonna teach you these skills that i know. Then y'all gonna do it tell. Show tried to tell them what to do. Show them how to do it with them. Let go off and do it themselves and so we just things that i knew to how to teach them and you know this was thanks to a made and things always perfect. But it's better to have people doing eighty percents of you rather than to do absolutely everything because you never be out of scale and you won't be able to

"Every level but on Craigslist before right, I know people who've done found places to live on. Craig's A lot of I know several people. They they found roommates lived with total strangers online, and they met them on Craigslist and you know, so be it, or they sublease a place from somebody else. What's happening? People are into that. Who did all would concern me a little bit. What Will the World Look Like When Crytpo Is Fully Adopted?

"What do you think the world will look like. Once crypto has been adopted. There's there's two sort of visions. I think i don't maybe we can just be honest ourselves. Sometimes i worry about the vision. We have for currency so aware. I started and i have a lot of respect for jeremy in the team at circle. Because back when i was in grad slow boston actually used circle to violate quinlan. So kudos huge you. Jeremy you saved me from my days for buying the clan on craigslist in using fan. So i could do how well yeah. So you obsolete neat stack my my sats. The early days of the coin The i think they're sort of two visions and they're two very different visions the vision. I've always had for bitcoin that i think. Really compelling one is the separation for the first time of money and state. Money has been object of the state since julius caesar stamped his face on a gold coin and i think really the experiment. We're attempting here like the world is no longer defined by physical orders. We live in a very digital world. Anyone could be anyone on. The internet has many different identities many different communities where part of sometimes as our default reality south. Sometimes where donnas you know there are a lot of eggs anonymous individuals citing. We live in this really interesting world that is truly becoming borderless antony. Bitcoin really represents the evolution of money transfer value in that world. But in the same time. I think governments are looking at bitcoin Right now we're living in a world where governments are trying to ban math. They're literally encryption. We done this time and time again. For the last twenty five years since incriptions existed but the advent of central bank digital currencies. In certainly what. We've seen in the asia pacific region in particular the advent of dc p. and Sort of national quote unquote digital currencies. You do have a lot of concerns around the ability for people to have financial privacy. Privacy transactions privacy communications so we have these two very different paths down which we're heading. I don't know if they're gonna coexist. Don't know if it's going to be an ethic collision and i know jeremy also you know than working a lot on uscc which which arguably has replay here. But i think the future of joe currencies in our society is sort of at this. Very interesting impasse. I want bitcoin to exist. Ideally people have the right to privacy that people have the right to sue committee in their transactions. But i think governments certainly do not like that and are advocating now for the antithesis of that which is central bank digital currencies and monetary systems that. Give them complete control the ability to exert financial censorship at every level of society. Driving up tacit. Tiv know early. There's so much there. I i guess i it just as a technologist The to the question of you know. When will this be mainstream or however you wanna call that my view is that you know. Things are mainstream in terms of technology when they disappear when they're invisible people and and when when essentially like people just take take them for granted right and said depending on your age and depending on where you are like. You might take for granted social media. But obviously that wasn't something that existed Wherever x. number of years ago you might take for granted that you have this amazing you know Supercomputer that just like that is reality. That is what the world was but obviously that had changed so at. What point is the use of crypto so ubiquitous and so embedded in so many things that we just take it for granted so were were. We have credited ago on that. But i think we're making really really strong progress. I think when. I also think about that question. I really think about Crypto and blockchain Is is. It's a pretty broad surface area right. You can be narrowly focused and sort of say there's non-sovereign stores value that use of blockchain infrastructure. You know bitcoin cash you know cetera et cetera which i completely agree with melting right. There's this this is this new form of borderless internet money and it will continue to grow and scale. And i'm i'm quite quite optimistic about that. But then there's the the fundamentals of the broader technology right so you know public chain infrastructure as effectively a new operating system layer on the internet. A new set of systems for storing data conducting transactions and executing code. That's what operates systems can help. Do these new operating system layers are very very general purpose in many respects there well suited to what i call fiduciary trust applications but can also be you know i. I was in a hackathon panel with melting the other day and we are looking at someone who built a decentralized messaging application on top of salona. The point being anti-centralized fantasy football fans in so digital games. You know messaging applications all these things on decentralized infrastructure web three cetera. Like that part of this is also a very very important part of this and so and you know something like stable coins like regulated stable coins like a us dc or potentially libra like these. These are also like apps that run on this new operating systems and could be quite popular. And so i think in terms of the question of when does that become mainstream. I think we're really close there. I think in the next twelve to twenty four months many of the most popular digital wallet products in the world that are used that we think of unused like as peer payments. And things like that. They're gonna turn on these protocols they're gonna turn these on and you're going to have you know all of a sudden hundreds of millions of people that can make interoperable payments at each other and that will kind of be in the background. That will be invisible. You'll you'll just you won't be trapped in making payments to people who then mo you'll be able to make payments between van mo and square cash and pay pal and swish in sweden and vips in norway. And you know go around the world to all these different apps. They're all going to speak. These common protocols in i think that's a a mainstream phase in digital currency. That's that's coming. I think ultimately that same number of people who might feel okay like i'm using euros or dollars or whatnot feeling comfortable using bitcoin that will grow to and eventually i would expect billions of people will will wanna use bitcoin to

"When you decide to use craigslist make sure you deal local and if something seems too good to be true it usually is. I was twenty years old. Still driving my grandpa's old buick. That he handed down. And i hated it. I wanted to drive something cooler and something more age appropriate. Well i was making decent money. And i wanted to buy a mustang so i started searching craigslist and within a week i found something that seemed unbelievable. A twenty thirteen blue mustang. Gt convertible manual transmission. No accident history with only thirty two thousand miles. And the shockingly low price of sixteen thousand. I saw the ad was just posted four minutes ago so i knew i had to act this. I called the number listed. But it just went to voicemail. I called again and this time on the fourth ring a man picked up the phone. I told him. I was interested in the car and he started laughing and joking about how he had just listed a few minutes ago honestly sounded almost to normal unfriendly. He gave me his address. And i told him i'll be over at six to check it out after hanging up in realizing this guy sounded normal. I was just so excited to think that i just found such a good deal. A gps location. It was a long drive about an hour. It took me far away from the suburbs. That i was used to the gp said two minutes remaining in the drive and i was kind of confused the area in very rural and poor. I pulled up to what the gps was the house. It was a shitty rundown thing. I noticed there was no mustang anywhere in sight. I felt uncomfortable with even getting out of the car. In fact i just sat there looking at the house for a good five minutes trying to decide if i should even go and knock on the door and our isn't by any means a short drive but when something seems a sketches the seems you would understand. I saw the blinds from the window begins to shake and the front door opens and a man probably in his fifty s came outside. He gave me a wave in a smile he actually looked somewhat. I turn the car off and went out to greet him. I asked him where the car was and he said it was in the garage. He told me to follow him back inside. I didn't know why who's leading into his house instead of the garage. But i went anyway. He made sure to shut the door behind me. Even though i was going to myself. I was able to get a good look of his house. And i must say it smelled disgusting and it didn't have much if any furniture led me down a small flight of stairs into a door. I heard some noises coming from beyond the door. The man just explained that it was his friend working on the car. That seemed weird. I also begin to hear creaking coming from upstairs. As if someone was walking around he looked up and said that must be his wife. I found it weird. That had to explain these noises. I wouldn't have thought it was weird. Otherwise he finally opened the door and they got a quick glimpse of his garage. It was completely empty. I took a look at the man as he stared back at me. I knew it was time to go. I didn't say anything. I just turned around and ran for the door but somebody was standing there blocking it. I offered to give them all the money in my wallet to let me go in. The first guy walked into the room with some sharp metal tool illness hands. I don't know what it was called. But i fled from the room in the opposite direction of the front door and thankfully found the back door. I fled into the backyard and went around the house to my car. I needed inside and started the engine. I stared at the house one more time. Nobody followed me. I saw the front door open again and the two men from inside stood behind the storm door and just seem to stare me down. I gave them the finger and drove off halfway down the road. Before calling the cops. I stayed nearby until i saw the cops pull ups the house. The two men were many people were in that house were gone. Nobody had actually lived in that house for years. I went home feeling angry and disturbed but also grateful that escaped with my life that night. I got a phone call from an unknown number at like two in the morning. I didn't answer. And they didn't leave a voicemail. Ten seconds later i got a text from the same number saying look outside your window. I had my blinds down and feared what might be on the other side but it had pretty good feeling. I called the cops yet again. Letting the person outside know that i was as well. They arrived in the surprising three minutes and began to search the whole premise. They found him in my bush outside my window. He was arrested. His name is tony shelling. He was in fact the same person i met at the house. My message to all is to not be an idiot while using websites like craigslist..

"craigslist" Discussed on Creepy Horror Stories

"It was the summer of twenty twelve. I have a birthday. So i was still fifteen when all my friends were sixteen. They all have jobs for the summer. But nobody would hire me. Because i was only fifteen. I started looking for off the books jobs on craigslist. I found an ad titled looking for house cleaning services paying ten dollars an hour. The ed had two pictures of the house one outside and one inside. It was a typical middle class house. He lived in the next town over the only way to contact him was by email so i emailed him telling him i was only fifteen years old and was willing to clean his house for ten dollars an hour. He responded in ten minutes telling me his work schedule. And when you need me to be available. I told him that was okay and then he asked me if i had means of transportation to there every day. I didn't even realize that my mom wouldn't be able to drive me every day. Oddly he offered to give me a lift to and from every single day. He said he worked close so coming home to give me a ride. Wouldn't be a problem. I agreed without even asking my mom. So the man asked for my address. I gave it to him and he said he would be over at eight thirty. Am on monday to pick me up. Come monday amid him outside. He drove a black. Oh five nissan maxima. He himself had a black beard. Mets hat on. He didn't seem dressed ready to go to work. But i didn't think much about that. He introduced himself as james and then dropped me off and gave me the key. He told me to straighten everything out in such then. He drove off in a hurry. I founded really weird that he trusted me a fifteen year old. He had never met to be in this house alone. His house wasn't even too messy. All i did was just folsom. Close wash some dishes and used a hand vacuum to clean. Some of the carpets. The only problem. It was extremely hot in the house even hotter than outside. It seemed all the windows were sealed. Shut and i didn't want to turn on the without permission. This went on for six hours before he came back. Handed me sixty dollars and dropped me off back home. He seemed extremely nice. And i felt. I'd lucked out finding that ed. This went on for a good two weeks and my mom was okay with it. Since james was actually paying me then friday night i woke up feeling really thirsty so i got up to get some water. I looked out my window. And i saw somebody standing there looking into my room. I screamed and my parents came running over but the person outside took off before they got there. The next time i went in it was at least one hundred degrees outside. I s james. If i turn on the sea but he said he was broken. He told me to. Just take off my clothes. If i got hot i left thinking. He was joking but he was serious. I felt really uncomfortable after that. He dropped me off. And i did the same work that i had been doing. It was at least one hundred and five degrees in the house. I had to work shirtless and constantly. Go outside where it was just a little cooler. The day dragged on. But i just barely made it through the next day and the way to was house. James told me that he had the day off from work. He told me he just helped me. Out has not happy to hear this. I would rather just be alone in the house. He seemed to slowly follow me into whatever room. I went to clean eventually. Had to go to the bathroom. So i ran upstairs and made sure he wasn't following me but in the bathroom. I made a shocking discovery up in the corner of the room. I found a small camera pointing out of the wall. Just barely visible. I scan the room for more and sure enough. There was one in the bottom corners. Well i started searching the whole bathroom for more cameras checked under the sink but what i found was much worse. Were two huge. Stacks of vhs tapes. Each one with a sticky note attached with someone's name on it. The one on the top was my name. I almost threw up then in there. I had to find a way to get home safely. James then knocked on the door asking falls all right. I said i wasn't feeling good and asked if he could drive me home. He said okay. I stepped outside and he told me he had to go as well so he stepped into the bathroom for the first half of the car ride. He didn't say anything to me and the road was taking me on wasn't familiar in facts. I noticed that the direction we were heading in was the complete opposite of my house where we going. I asked he looked at me and said what were you doing in the bathroom. I started to panic. I didn't answer so we asked again in a much angrier voice. We were stopped at a traffic light. So i took that opportunity to unlock the door and escape the car. I ran away from sight before clawing my mom crying into the phone telling her to pick me up. She came over as soon as possible. She immediately reported. James and the police found the tapes under a sink. Some of the tapes contained much worse things than can just cleaning the house. The scariest thing. Some of the kids seen in the tapes are still missing to.

"This is a popular story with my family. Most of my friends does my brother's girlfriend at the time of the story. She was looking for her first department and moving out of her parents house. Her and my brother didn't wanna move together. Since they'd only been dating for a few months she opted instead to search for a roommate online browsing craigslist. She found ed titled something like roommate wanted females. Only this sort of thing was common. Since the area she was looking in was mostly young professionals. The listing was for a room in a house for about two twenty five a month which was quite cheap compared to most of the other places listed the occupant listed herself as a twenty three year. Old college student. That wasn't comfortable with living with any males. The other room would have their own room. Attached bathroom far. Manda was into this place however the listing only had a single photo from outside the property. Amanda sent an email wanting to meet the occupant toward the house. Within thirty minutes she receives an email back with all the details in time to stop by. The girl worked lead hours in one demanded to stop by. Apm when amanda arrives. There's a handwritten note on the front door saying door. Broken us back door. Walking around the house looks nice but slightly unkempt paul grice needs dusty windows etc still no alarms for amanda though when she knocks on the back door and older man opens the door at first amended thinks that she has the wrong house but the man reassures her and says the occupant was out and that he was the landlord. The occupant asked him to meet a man some working late. He seemed pleasant and offered to so her around alarm. Struggling law split arnett yet i. The dog was clearly in his forties unshaven and looks like he lived in his car. Also only the kitchen light was on as they walked around. The house amend noticed one huge red flag no furniture. Nothing the landlord was played about answering questions but seemed irritable. The keeping the lights on for too long rushing her around and only letting her look at rooms for a few moments. There was a single room that the landlord wooden open selling that was occupants room. And he didn't want to invade her privacy as they walked down the hall into the living room she notices the front door has a plank nailed across it quote unquote broken for sure. Amandus creep meter starting to ding so she decides to wrap up the walk through and leave but trying to be polite as she's given the guy her thanks for the showing that he perks up and states that he forgot to show her the baseman he claims its recently furnished and would be a great rec room in. She should a look down there at the time. Amanda the landlord or standing in the small hallway between the front living room and the back kitchen in this little hallway was the basement door when he opens the door. It opens outward to create something of a barrier between amanda and the back door basement pitch-black he smiles motions down the stairs and says ladies first what happens next is nothing more than a stroke of luck. Amanda gets a text just as some random person parks in front of the house thinking on her feet. She pretends it's a phone call and answers her phone. Hey you here come out from around back when you win. It's great you have to see it with the motion of confidence. She excuses herself around the landlord and walks out of the back door. She says the guy just looked at her like he was confused once outside she sprint into her car and sped. Like hell out of there. When amanda got home she told her mother and my brother everything cops recalled. They took her statement and went to investigate. The craigslist posts had been removed. The house had been foreclosed over six months earlier. It was found out that the house had been foreclosed over six months earlier and the property had been abandoned when the police investigated they found that the closed-room that the so called landlord didn't want her to look in was where the man had been staying. There was a pile of old dirty blankets. Rotten food and empty gallon jugs everywhere. More creepy was. He had plastered ripped up pages from porno magazines on all the walls in the room. The really scary part of this was the basement. The men had tied a thin piece of fishing twine. I've about shin level across the stairs about halfway down. The basement was empty except another pile of old blankets. A broom handle wrapped in leather belts and a small box with a few rolls of assorted teeth. I was looking for goalie equipment on craigslist some night in the summer i was only fourteen and had no job and therefore no money so i had to find the cheapest deal possible. I didn't really care about the condition of anything. I came across an ad that seemed like a steal. The pictures showed the peds blocker glove and stick. They were all invisibly. Good condition it was only listed for fifty dollars. That seemed like an insane deal. I contacted the seller via text. And he asks me a few questions. One of which was how old i am. I responded fourteen and he told me he's glad to hear that i'm dedicated at a young age. It's really seem weird to me. What he said at the time. But now that i look back on it i should have been wiser. I asked the seller. I address but he instead asked me what how on from and that he could just meet me somewhere walking distance from my house. I didn't know how i felt about this. But i really wanted that equipment. We agreed to meet in the parking lot of the mall which is literally down the block from my house. I stood alone in the exact spot. I described for a few minutes. Until i heard somebody to their horn. I noticed a white van parked away from all the other cars. And then i received a text saying that he was in the white van. I reply telling him to come out with equipment but he said it would be easier to do the transaction in the van. I had a really bad feeling about this. High tailed away from their iran's on the block and when i looked back i saw the white van driving down the street behind me now. There was someone in the passenger side as well. I didn't wanna lead them to my house. So i cut into some random person's backyard and hopped over the fence. I was on the opposite side of the block. Now hiding behind a bush within twenty seconds the white van pissed by and turn the next turn vanishing from sight. It was safe to run back to my house now. My parents should on me when i told them about it. I didn't get the tag number or a good look at their faces so all they could report was a suspicious white van. The craigslist ad was taken down. So i couldn't show it to my parents. I thought it was over. But that night i heard a vehicle engine running outside looked out my window down to street and saw the white van sitting across the street but as soon as i looked out the window the van drove off down the road out of sight. I haven't seen it since. I don't know if they saw me or not. Or if they somehow found my address it makes me paranoid to this day. I was selling dining room set on craigslist. I listed for twelve hundred but put slightly negotiable in the title. It was a good looking said. But i wasn't getting in wofford. I did live in the country though so not a lot of people lived in my town. I finally received a call about the set. The man on the other end of the phone had a very shaky voice and he sounded a bit off. But i can't really explain how wanted to check out the set to make an offer. So i gave him my address and he said he'd be over within the hour. I dusted off all the furniture. Wartime media look as nice as possible. The doorbell rang within ten minutes. I was shocked. Must've lived really close. Which in my area was very surprising. I opened the door and immediately felt uncomfortable about.

"And drove over to the sellers. House immediately noticed that the house was a bit smaller than all the other houses on the block. When i rang the bell middle aged men wearing a baseball cap answered. The door gave me a huge smile and invited me in. I was immediately feeling uneasy. He led me into his living room. And i saw the couch immediately. I saw scuff marks and small tears in the couch on the sheet that it appeared in the ad i commented on this and he just smiled and offered to lower the price. I told him i'm not interested. And here's where things started getting creepy as those making my way out of the house. He put his hand on my shoulder and offered to give it to me for free. If i was willing to quote unquote give something to him. I- lead out a disgusted guests and got back into my car. I didn't even look out the window. I just drove away from there quickly. But it doesn't end there. That seemed night. I was laying in my bed watching tv. When i thought i heard somebody stomping up the steps of my porch muted the tv and was able to clearly hear the sound of somebody fiddling with my front door knob i jumped out of my bed and tiptoed over to the front door to look through the people but wherever it was was already gone and then i thought i could hear the sound of the key to the backyard. Opening enclosing thousand grabbed the phone and dialed nine. One one soon after the son of somebody fiddling with the doorknob to the back door of the apartment i yelled to whoever it was at. The police were on their way. And after that i heard the sound of the gate open and closing again. They were gone. This was a month ago and nothing has happened since. But i still can't sleep on ninety nine percent sure it was the man that was selling the couch. He must have followed me home. Those no way it was just a coincidence. I don't plan on using craigslist anymore. And i'm still trying to find a new apartment number two. I was looking for a car to buy for my son for eighteenth birthday. I was searching all the typical car. Websites cars dot com ebay motors. They were all over priced as expected. Craigslist was the only place to find an actual deal about a week. It's my search. I found an old three toyota camry. It had sixty seven thousand miles. No accidents no damage and good condition for only thirty five hundred. He seems like a steal for such a reliable car with such low mileage. the seller lived about ten miles from me which was a reasonable drive when looking for a car i gave him a call to set up a time to come check it out. The man sounded normal on the phone. He assured me that they were absolutely no problems with the car. He introduced himself. As bob brought on thirty five hundred and cash even though i planned on wiggling down the price as much as possible. I pulled up the dirt. Roads bob's property about fifteen minutes early. It was a tiny little house with a decent sized property only because it was a bit far from the nearest neighbors. The garage was open. So i walked over to see if anybody was inside but except for an unusual amount of car parts. It was empty. The car was nowhere in sight. The only car and the property was an old pickup truck. I went over to the front door to check the house numbers. It was the right address. The doorbell button was missing. So i'm not on the front door. I'm not true. Exactly five minutes before deciding to give them a call. So i dialed his number and i heard the sound of the cell phone ringing from inside the house. I was extremely confused at this point now. I knew i had the right house. I didn't understand white issues home. Why he wasn't answering. I decided i had to take a peek through one of the windows to see if anybody was inside carrying through the glass. I couldn't really see much those pretty dark inside the house. I saw a very old fish in dining room set but across from that i saw somebody standing at the back door of the house steering outside. I figured that must have been poverty. So i knocked on the window. But he didn't even move was no gate or anything to the backyard. It was just a wide open yard. Since this wasn't a rural area. I simply walked around the house to the backyard. I didn't understand how he couldn't hear me when i got to the back door. A shocking realization. The figure standing by the door was a taxidermied. Human being i straight back the way i came back to my car looked up one last time before driving off the blinds to the window. I peeked into had been shut. But i could see. Two of the blinds bent open. Somebody was at that window watching me. You can probably guess at the gas pedal to the floor. The whole way home. The whole situation still makes no sense all the car parts. The fact that there was no toyota camry taxidermied human being the fact that there was no car. There leads me to believe that whoever that man was wasn't planning on selling me anything and that also leads to the disturbing thought that i was very close to becoming a lifeless statues staring out. That man's back door number one. I was looking to buy the iphone. Five about a year ago. I found a guy on craigslist to asong his for two hundred dollars. He claimed bills in mint condition and that he wanted to upgrade to the five. See i didn't know much about how to go about testing a phone to make sure everything works. So i brought my little brother along who need more than i did. We met halfway at dunkin donuts. Parking lot at like ten o'clock at night to large intimidating guys stepped out of a black honda civic and walked over to us. One of the guys pulled out the phone and showed it to me. It didn't have scratch on it. My brother took out. My sim card impacted into this new phone. Did some testing and told me that it works. The guy then asked for two fifty even though he originally asked for two hundred. I lied and told him i only brought two hundred and he seemed to bid on happy with this. I did have to fifty. But i didn't wanna spend more than his original asking price. I kind of figured it was his way of making strident haggled down the price. I handed the guy that two hundred and he and his buddy got back in their car. We got back into my car. And i tested out the new phone by calling my girlfriend. I sat testing things around for about five minutes. My brother commented on the fact that the two guys hadn't left yet either but i didn't really care. I started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. My brother then commented that the two guys started their car just as i had. I didn't find it too weird. I drove down the turnpike and eventually stopped at a red light. That's when they noticed the black honda civic poll up right behind us in my rear view mirror. I found that a bit weird since. Oh sure they came from the opposite direction. I continued my drive home but every single turn we made they followed and close on my tail to my brother suggested i pull over those no way i was going to do that. I knew those guys were looking for trouble. Got to the where. I was trying to lose them and started driving dangerously if they needed something they would call or at least honk their horn but they were looking for some kind of trouble. I tried something risky to lose them at an intersection. Light had just turned red. Eye florida across the intersection. Before any of the cars would begin to piss. My brother shouted at me calling me stupid and crazy but it worked. They didn't follow. We got home after the actual long drive. My heart was still racing from the intensity of the situation. I was just happy. I got a working phone for such a low cost later that night i was playing around with the phone trying to set some things up before going to bed. My parents and brother were ready. Sleep at this point and just then the sound of two car doors. Slamming shut outside interrupted me. I looked out my window. I felt like my heart completely stopped. The black honda civic was parked across the street. I can only assume the two guys were already halfway to our front door. I need only woke up my dad and explains everything as quickly as possible. He got up grabbed the baseball bat and crouched behind the front door allowed not team at the front door. My dad's screamed at them to go away one of the guys on the other side of the door claim to have a gun and said that he would shoot the lock off the door. If you didn't open up. My dad told me to call joe our friend who lives two doors down. Who happens to be a police officer. I call joe and he said you'd be right over and to stay hidden. Here's the part that still scares me to this day. There was the sound of silence. Shot of a pistol. I teach over and saw a bullet hole in the door. Inches away from my dad's head. My dad ran away from the door. And we all listened. Heard joe outside yelling at them to drop their weapons. My dad went outside to help when they will with their guns. Joe arrested the two assholes. I have to say this was the scariest day of my life but it was also the best i've ever felt in my entire life go..

Sorry folks, you need to upgrade phone every year now

"We may not like I'm going to say so let me just get it out. Get used to it. It's time to just keep your phones for a year that's it period. Upgrade every twelve months because as good as your old phone is upgrading makes a lot more economic sense. And why fight it apple Samsung and Google do such an amazing job. Every twelve months of convincing us why we need to ditch the old model for the new I say you just go with it. Now, there's many websites online that will buy your old phone from you and apple best buy in the wireless carriers play that game too or you could sell it yourself on Ebay or craigslist maybe make a little bit more money. But in order to get good dollars for the device, it needs to be the latest model. For instance declutter DOT COM, they'll pay four hundred and fifty nine dollars for last year's iphone eleven pro or five hundred dollars for the eleven pro Max. The models that initially sold for a thousand dollars in eleven hundred dollars. Now, apple promises to offer just about the same in trading credit four, hundred, fifty or five hundred dollars now granted your device has to be in good condition without a cracked screen and noticeable wear and tear apple insists that it turns on and functions normally all the buttons and cameras work. The body is free of dents and scratches, and at the touchscreen and back glass are undamaged good luck with that one. Now Apple, ask you to answer those questions online, and if they agree that you have indeed been truthful, you get the five hundred dollar credit or. Quote if your device does not match the condition you described, you'll receive a revised trade in. Value Unquote. Let's say apple only gives you four hundred dollars for a new phone and you nabbed thousand dollar iphone twelve pro for six hundred bucks plus tax, and you plan to trade it back twelve months from now your cost of ownership a dollar sixty, five a day. For a device that you will use every day all day for email texts, web serving facebook, posting tweets, paying for goods, stores, hailing an Uber or lift listening to music, watching movies and TV shows taking all those amazing photos and sharing them everywhere under the sun. Now the point is a dollar sixty five a day is that really minor purchase even when you do the math and expanded to eleven dollars and fifty five cents a weekly or fifty dollars monthly. Now, in Apple's new phone, you get stronger glassed it says is four times less likely to crack a camera that takes better photos in low light higher resolution video, a more powerful processing chip for spiff your performance, and as good as the eleven pro model is is just not as good. If you don't feel like selling I understand but hear me out because if you go back further in time you're older phones just aren't worth much. The tennis Max will get your three, hundred, seventy bucks the tennis three, hundred dollars the ten are two, fifty, the eight, plus two, ten, the eight, one, forty, and considering that these older phones have more years on them. The odds of them nabbing the amount of money that apple tout's is really remote. Now, just to confuse you even more the carriers have basically turned the corner and they're sort of offering free phones in deals again with that new two year or slightly longer contract, the iphone twelve is free with at and T.. Trade in thirty month commitment to paying sixty eight dollars and forty nine cents monthly for an unlimited plan. But I think that they'll stinks because you're on the hook for two thousand and fifty four dollars you're locked into a plan they could charge more than rivals and you'll have to pay a penalty to leave early. Trading Street to apple or selling to a use site makes a lot more sense financially. T mobile throws a hundred and fifty dollar gift card on top your trade-in. Once you sign up for service, which is good while verizon sells you the new phone on time fifteen dollars monthly for existing customers were ten dollars thirty seven cents monthly for new customers with a two year term on top of the trade in again, you'll pay a lot more for the phone this way. So a way better deal sign up for apple's credit card, which offers no interest monthly installments for the new phone over a two year period with a four hundred dollars traded on the iphone eleven pro you're looking at twenty dollars and seventy nine cents monthly. Now, that's a two year contract. You'll have to Weasel Anna in twelve months but apple says, you can do it and it ends up clocking in at sixty nine cents a day and you WanNa hold onto your old phone. Really.

RH Profits With Travel Spending Shifted to High-End Home Decor

"The company formerly known as restoration hardware. Honey Monster second quarter profits much higher than expected strong overall sales. And shares of RH are up more than twenty, two percent today in the stock sitting in all time high. Are you just kind of interesting because a lot of what we're talking about right now is people will look at revenue growth look at dooms growth in the quarter or all of these different companies and are each only increased revenue less than a percent. But the really impressive thing was like you said, Christie increase in their gross margin, they're operating margin and. They're not march and their earnings per share. So I think it's kind of a different look than a different response than we've been seeing a lot for these high growth tech stocks. This is more of a company that showing they have a lot of pricing power and they are growing in a less a way that we haven't seen very a lot recently. Yeah RH is. For anyone who's ever been in the restoration hardware you it's one of those stores you walk in. It's like. Well, it's it's clearly nice stuff. It's quality merchandise. Some of it is exceptionally pricey, but I think this. This probably goes along with the narrative. In the same direction as the narrative that we've seen in the last six months with companies like wayfair and Home Depot and Lowe's where. More people are looking around the homes that they are trapped in and saying all right I'm if I'm not going to go on a vacation I'm gonNA spend money improving this place that I live in. Yeah and that was called out in the share holder letter for this quarter, they talk about the elevated level of spending in the home. So yet the booming real estate activity accelerated shift for moving to your home. A lot of people are leaving the city's moving to the suburbs and then taken homebuilding trying to renovate to make sure their workplace is the best place they can have possible and because you're talking about it, I did spend a good chunk of my morning on the restoration hardware look book website, and I now want to buy a five thousand dollar couch. Well I'll be look I'd like to buy A. New Couch. It costs five thousand dollars in. That's why I'm just gonNa stick with couch that I have. The last check what's on craigslist for one hundred dollars? For the growth that this stock has seen and look, we've seen a lot of stocks you mentioned Zoom Zoom in this category, even with the recent drop over the past week or so Tesla, which started out the year at around eighty five dollars a share is still. Around I don't know this morning before the market opened it was close to three ninety. Restoration hardware is up roughly five times in value. Since late March, I, Know Cherry picking the bottom, but it's a reminder that it's not just the. Sexy tech companies that can have these kinds of returns. where I'm going with this Maria, is that for all of this growth restoration hardware and I can't call it h I'm sorry. This company still seven and a half billion dollar company. This is not huge. Do you think? This is still an acquisition target because it seems like sort of thing in the same way that people have said about wayfair despite wayfair growth. You know someone could still come in and make them an offer. Restoration hardware is. Not a very big company and it appears to be very well run, and as you said, they're really doing good things with their margins. I think it's a possibility. So wayfair is about twenty four, billion dollars right now I? Think it has a niche within the luxury market and that's what in their earnings call. They also talk about how they. Have elevated their shift to a luxury brand with luxury market with luxury margins at a higher pace than they anticipated and so I think that if you're looking to expand into this niche, it would be a really interesting acquisition target for them. They do in their letter also talk about all of their long-term growth plans and some of them are kind of lofty they're planning. To Open hotels, they have a luxury yacht called the h three that is available for charter in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. So they have pretty lofty goals of what they want to be. So I wonder if they don't think they want to be acquired but I think if I was a company looking to grow into that luxury niche, this would be something I'd be considering.

Other than you just wanted to look at it and admire it's beauty. I've done that. Honestly, I. I have done that more than once. To cases that come to mind right now, the first one is the Olympus pen. F. In its handsome leather half case Oh. My Gosh. What a beauty So pretty. The other one is the Fujifilm x one hundred V with its aluminum grip? Yeah. And that's the idea that's the idea and especially right now that's the idea. To be excited to have enthusiasm to you know want to go do something that you actually can do pick up your camera and go take pictures when we're a bit stale feeling that stale how can we spark this kind of joy? Without digging our credit cards for a fifteen hundred dollar charge in my trick as you've already figured out has been through new accessories and techniques, and you may be surprised to know that I have five of these. To share with you this week. Okay. So let's let's get started on these little things. This is my anti-gas list. Okay. Because they don't qualify they don't call not one of these qualify. For Gear Acquisition Syndrome and you can argue that with me but I'm not going to yield on this on already. Here we got and I'm GonNa fool with you on the first one the first one's. GonNa. Mess with you right out of the shoot. The first one is a new Lens. Coin what you just said, right a new lens but a vintage one. Yes. So it's only new to you is been around for a long time. Yes. You could spend twelve hundred dollars on a new state of the art optic no problem. You can spend more than that if you wanted. But scoring of vintage beauty for one hundred dollars or less. Can Be just as satisfying in evokes a far less guilt. In the images that this glass producers can truly inspiring because it seems like each lens that you find on Ebay or craigslist or Oetzi or your local camera shop each vintage lens that you find has a different feel to it and. Go. Wow. This is really Kinda neat and sometimes in the world of digital optics everything sort of produces the same super magnificent results right which is great. Until you know a thousand frame of the same super magnificent result and he got I really would like to see something different. A new vintage lens can do that. And since most of US shoot murless or have a meritless camera, they adapt these lenses adapt. So well, meritless cameras. It's not even funny. You can get an adapter for like fifteen bucks at works. Great. You have this manual Focus Lens you take some pictures with it. You're going. Wow, this is really interesting. This looks different. It's different operating is different looking through the electronic viewfinder with it's just different the way around and it can be very motivating very inspiring. It can push you to photograph things that you might bypass otherwise just because turn out interesting with this particular Lens.

New Xbox Series X Controller Leaks Suggest Potential Launch Date

"Soft new xbox series ex consul confirmed and leaked controller packaging via the verge Microsoft is rumored to be unveiling its second cheaper next xbox console. Console this month and it looks like it will definitely be called. xbox series s the verge has obtained photos of Microsoft's new. Next Gen. xbox controller, and white complete with packaging that mentions the xbox series s twitter user. Zach S was able to purchase the controller today and we've confirmed it's genuine. The new controller was sold on a resale site today and side of the packaging notes that the controller works with xbox series X and. S Consoles make has not officially unveiled. An xbox series s yet nor has the company even confirmed that white xbox series x controller mysterious white xbox series controller also appeared online last month complete with the new deep add texture triggers in new share button. This league matches the previous controller leak and retail packaging suggests that this could be appearing in store. Soon, quote we have a lot in store for xbox in two, thousand, twenty, eight share. You says a Microsoft spokesperson in a statement to the verge. Announce at this time. So if you look on your twitter mice where timely in particular and I'm sure you're well, there are a lot of videos of these controllers being embarks in touched and flipped around, and I'm not sure we're. Watching right now. Yeah. Not sure where they're all exactly coming from I thought I had read something about stores being looted. And the thought is maybe they were in stock at that best buy that was being looted. Who knows because he rumored released? There was a rumor that the series was going to come out in August I believe. So if that was to be believed or maybe it's gotten pushback. Anyway, there's some rumored evidence that these controllers could be in at stores who could say, but if you look at the controller itself, it was I. Think you actually have an elite controller on your desk, don't you because the D pad for this new one looks very similar to that I mean at least it as it from this photo, and there is a share button in the middle and other than that. It looks incredibly similar. It does. But just fine with me. Honestly I. DON'T I. Don't mind that. I'm happy to dual shock is getting a makeover. 'cause that controllers always made my hands cramp after too long. The xbox controller I have no issues with. It's actually why it's my preferred to play on I the controller so much more comfortable. Yeah. My hand in twenty in two, thousand and ten, and prior to that, I really liked the playstation controller because smaller small hands. But since my like my hands kind of changed I find the xbox like much more comfortable like. There's something about it just works better for me now. Yeah. I. Think this Controller Looks Great. I love the white. Hat is something I might have to get used to. But I know it's something that I think a lot of gamers particularly more sports focus players want those those little side pieces between the deep had to do specific move sets on. It is weird that there's so many of them out in the wild, and like that one person posted that they bought one on offer up for thirty five dollars. That was a great deal I was like that's a steal for any controller. Let alone controller for an unreleased. Be. Somebody who didn't know what they had just like it's an exodus because it's a hot troll. I. Stole this new to offload it quickly. Pretty much. I, would I feel like that is when you know it's stolen merchandise selling it for thirty dollars and some weird website just like sure I'll take that and they just think it's probably the. Current, xbox controller because they look so similar. Wonders. Like. Are you buying Oregano here? You know it was. Like take an xbox controller. Crack Open, do some modifications externally. So to try to cheat a unreleased controller. Or is this is putting a button. Sensitive. briquetted thing they. They did some modifications to like and make up that story I don't know. La Interesting for people who aren't familiar with what offer up is essentially like a, let's go or a craigslist where you post pictures and then people in your vicinity can buy items from you and I've seen some very suspicious television posts on there before like come to my garage where I have all of these TV's in boxes that you can buy. One hundred dollars and I'm like. A feels like you took that off with trucks. I. Didn't take anything. But I think that this is, oh, sorry, go ahead. Bro. Say the back of the box. There are also photos of that. If anyone's interested, the deep has just described as refined. Yet familiar input nothing really there and the share button and share content seamlessly, and then it goes on about how there's. And Bluetooth support and the textured grip, and that's kind of it.

Direct Connections With Jonny Mopar

"Did we talk about your road runner on the first episode, we did together of the show I. Don't want why don't you tell us the story? Yes. Aside from chargers and burnt up Khuda. Johnny and a whole host of other MO- pars. Johnny has also had a really awesome dude. You're roadrunners bad, ass. Tell us about your road. I remember seeing the pictures of it for the first time and I'm like. Hey, you have too many cool cars that I want. So. Tell us about that. Awesome roadrunner. This is the ratty one right the blue. Absolutely that okay. Man That card if I could find that exact car right now, I'd be a very happy man but. Tell us tell us the whole story about the road. All right. So Up in the high desert, which is I think it's like Apple Valley area out here. Not You know not that you would know where this is but anyway, it's it's it's a little bit of a stretch to get there from where I lived but I think it was in the recycler craigslist or something? I'm not even sure craigslist was around back then but I found this seventy roadrunner right And it was pretty sketchy description and stuff and I call the guy and he's like ads. Pretty. Roach Dow. But it does run. It's a three car I'm like all right has tiktok tack in it unlike. Allen go check this thing out so I was just dating my wife back. Then you know so I I I cook stir into going for a drive. You know a road trip up to go check out this car. And get there and it's like this. Lavender primer color in somebody rattled canned stripe on the hood. Had the Bulge Hood. And but Iran. And I was like, Oh, by had, we'll flares in the back which I didn't And I think I think I paid. I want to say was like Fifteen hundred bucks to two thousand dollars somewhere in there. Drug at home. And then I didn't like the color. So I black primaried the whole thing and then I drove it around a little bit but I didn't have it long and then I was starting to chip out the crap and you know the flares and the wheel wells the hated it, and then it's like, oh. God. Why did I opened this up just nasty like they just they just got in there with like sheet metal cutters and just like peeled the medal up and then just mud it you know. Was Nasty and then the right rear corner that car. It had been hit and then so somebody cut a clip off of another car I'm thinking a four door. And like grafted it into the car, they did a terrible job of doing it. So I I was just like this way too much for me. I'm I'm not gonNA take on the project like this so I think it was probably the recycler. Anyway this guy from same area Apple Valley calls me up. He's a tow truck driver and he's like a he was yeah a I I know that car seen that car up here stopped trying to buy that car that guy wouldn't sell it for years and years, and he's like, how did you get a hold of it and I'm like it was in the recycler He's I can't believe I. missed it. You know. So anyways, he goes. Well, he didn't have eating the money, but he's like, would you be interested in a trade and I'm like I don't know like what do you got? You know he's listing off the one hundreds and you know some bodies like Darts and Whatever Who wants a dart when he can get chargers all the time for not? Exactly. Exactly. So unlike No not interested. He goes well, I got a I got a sixty nine road runner and I go. He goes with doesn't have drive train in it, but you know it's five blue and. I go. Sounds interesting. I'd be interested in that and he goes I. Go dude this car is rough. The seventy is rough 'cause. I've really like seventy seventies on my favorite. Described everything wrong with the car. I think it had three fifty five's in it but anyway, he's like well, can you come up and can I check out the car because I was really Skeptical that he would be interested in trading for it. Right so I, I, drive a met him. I went like three quarters of the way up there, and then he met me because he was working he was actually he showed up in a tow truck. We met like right off the freeway. You know he's checking out the car and he's like I want I'm interested and I'm like all right cool and he goes well. Come back up on the weekend and all I had was like a really sketchy picture. Of the Blue Road runner, the sixty nine.

EBay Nears Deal to Sell Classified-Ad Unit to Adevinta

"Nearing a deal to sell its classified ad unit to Advanta, Advanta, Advanta, let's go ahead and enter. Whatever and Mike, they're valuing this $8 billion. I didn't even know this was a thing. It's the international Craigslist had never heard of their classified ads unit. Neither had I, frankly. So beyond other Sir, the investors and eBay have over the last several years kind of pushed eBay toe strip themselves and a lot of their other business units, which for those shareholders need bay. That's been a good thing. If you if you won't pay pal, for instance, that stock has done incredibly well. They struck a deal to sell off their StubHub ticketing division last year, and this is really the last big one that they had that wasn't really core to eBay's business. This classified ads, you know, think again. Think of it, as like a Craigslist or Facebook marketplace for a lot of non U. S markets. Wish again if you're competing with Facebook marketplace, I'm not really sure how you make money. EBay's classified ads unit, but that's not here, nor there, I guess.

The way started with the side, hustles I always a visual person and I've always enjoyed the arts, and in doing the tiger free, since I was really young and over the years. When you're young, you're still learning photography and you start off in the days, and you don't have a job to pay the bill you basically just. kind of stopped, but then what happened with this particular side Hustle in college, a gained the reputation, being known as the guy with the camera, and in my senior year I got asked by a friend to photograph for wedding, and so I said yes. At that time. I didn't really know it didn't even start doing any waiting at that point, but I knew I was excited to try. and. When I kinda sat down, and excitement stopped the realization of all. My Gosh I'm a photograph. My friend's wedding and I've never done this before, so instead of calling my friends saying. Hey, I don't think I can do it. I decided to go with it and I made a post on craigslist, saying hey, I am starting autocracy and any writing the groom's that are looking for Harper, an inexpensive dog of her, and suppose it up on craigslist, and a couple of days later got a reply and bride and groom hired me really quickly off craigslist I still have the day job and I'm still loving. This stay job up to this point just celebrated my twelfth year employment with my current employer so I'm really happy with that, so I I am still a civil engineer and still loving it to this day sense being featured on the show, a lot of things said change in. With the weddings I've slightly increase my prices from the thirty five hundred one. I did the episode to just about a little bit over four thousand at this point, and that was primarily because I started getting a little bit more business, but then I also wanted to concentrate on other parts of the business, and so I thought okay. Let me raise my prices. Maybe they'll slow it down. It did slow it down to a point where I could start. Investing more time in other parts of the business, and so now I am dependent on what hat I'm wearing. I'm either still a wedding photographer, and that's usually primary marks through September, and then throughout the year I can either be doing commissions for landscape, and now with the newest thing with architecture. I'm slowly getting into trying to work with architects and engineers on photographing. Photographing their projects for anyone wanting to start their business, the most important aspect is know how to use camera because the thing is as photographers were basically trying to problem-solver, trying to capture an image given the conditions whether it's like conditions, weather and you are being paid to photograph that given whatever it is. I mean sometimes. It is going to be your call. Hey I cannot get that shot for you today because of a B and C and if you don't know to use your camera, you can't tell your client confidently that you can't make that happen. And you know lastly the best thing that anyone can ever do as the target for is just go out photograph every day. you know practice that skill set because there's always a lot of new technology and all the techniques. There was no one way to get an image. There's multiple routes to do it so always trying to keep fresh with your skill set, and understanding how things go and evolving I think that helps you start off in that business. Well, there are a lot of photographers out there a lot of them who are struggling trying to get their first clients and such. If. That's you if you know somebody, you want to go back and listen to Oliver's original story. If you missed it. "L. our don f._m. You can happen on one of those and you will sound period great when you do that as we continue here. We've got the details on the story that one of our callers actually brought up. I had not heard what about this and i think johnson you didn't win either. <hes> this trump proposal to regulate social media and i i know that <hes> people have been calling for this and i think that it's a huge mistake to demand that the government come in and <hes> yeah level the playing field we we need to make facebook fair or twitter needs to be fair rather than just going out and creating the alternative creating creating something that's better creating something that's more free some of these things already exist or using the things that are already out there or using even bothering offering to look and find out what else is out there but no people just want to pound their fists and they want to they want to force the big evil mega corporation to work work the way they want that corporation. I definitely find out more about this because okay so what this is in regards to is section two thirty of the communications decency act which is supposed to protect it companies from legal responsibility for content posted on their platforms right so somebody posts something that's obnoxious or you have a caller who calls in and says something about the square square root of somebody's bottle then you are protected right from that particular content because it's not you. That's supposed to contact or not not liable for what that person. That's just you're not necessarily their platform especially. If you're doing something to get rid of it well didn't. They already cracked down on that with sesa foster to foster didn't pass they're trying to did or did it. Oh yeah really yeah so above and yes passed and and craigslist shut down their entire essay actually craigslist shut it down prior to its passing but it did pass senate and trump did sign it but that was specifically in regards to sexualize stuff right that was in regards to any website light that allows a certain number. I think it was like three or four different advertisements on it for what can be perceived as prostitution so of course as you may may know there's certain code words that are utilized in online prostitution advertisements because it's not legal in most places and so they have to kind of talk around rounded with code words so any one of these one of these things yeah. I don't know what all the codewords arms or you can go find a list of them pretty easily online but any site that has these things now is liable as an basically they assess pasta if i recall correctly basically says if you run on a website silver damon and three or four people post ads on that website that you allow to stay on this site that are extensible prostitution advertisements is minutes. You will be held liable as a human trafficker basically and so that is a huge chilling effect on freedom of speech in that particular taylor area and it's the beginning of of this proposal sai have the same sir. I think you have pulled up here johnson from c._n._n. Business and then coming up you got another trump related piece as we can get into what's he. What is he doing here. You don't have anything from c._n._n. Business l. but you've got a story about trump and psychiatric treatment for the dream associate so stand by with that <hes> c._n._n. From a draft executive order from the white house could put the federal communications commission in charge of shaping how facebook book twitter and other large tech companies curate what appears on their websites according to multiple people familiar with the matter the draft order a summary of which was obtained by i c._n._n. However they don't link to it bright calls for the calls for the f._c._c. to develop new regulations clarifying how and when the law protects social media websites when they decide to remove or suppress content on their platforms although still in its early stages and subject to change the trump add ed wait. days you know I've read a lot and talked a lot about operant conditioning in dog training using positive and negative enforcements and by the way never into cruelty or or or serious pain or anything like that just a little discomfort my problem with this is that it's self administered you have to have the discipline to shock yourself too then what associates say eating a fourth donuts with pain and not wanting to do it anymore yeah I got to put in the hands just comfort actual sponsor a co worker if you really wanna get worried in the hands your spouse that's a recipe for a healthy relationship this thing I can tell you were thinking about a known I know that look on your face nothing about donuts this comes with a bit of a how to guide as well there's some guidelines in terms of if you think about the thing you want to do like a fifty percent shock if you catch yourself actually doing the thing that you did a hundred percent shock we're gonna have some escalation in in that and if you do it twice in a row Dick Cheney shows up and her out for now we're going to go to work here yeah there's been a lot the person who is we guys already I just over eight now I'm sorry the person who is right this article tried out essentially for a weekend and did it I think it was like ten of the the the fifty percent charges because I kept thinking about social media so I try to stop the dead said after about ten of them I got to the point where I wasn't even thinking about it anymore I don't doubt that I mean they mention some arm pain or something I don't know the right beyond where the break was well whatever whatever we we are that basic your mind would think okay it's a bad thing that's a bad thing I don't do it it's like come that leads to pain yeah I I fell down at a gas station years ago some you might remember the story I tripped over the holes you put the gas in as trying to step over I thought quite as flexible as he used to be I don't remember because I hit my head so hard enough myself completely out and I think that's what happened I don't remember well anyway will come around bloody and everything and up but now I put gas in my car like ugh I start I want to get the windshield clean and thank I start to several of those no I think I walk all the way to write because my my brain is just saying no no no no don't go in there right so you know it it works that way so you shop yourselves every tiny either don't give myself a decent little shock prison my brain says no no donut snow donuts snow good they give you paint right yeah I'd say you know I think you ought to try it the reason I'd be happy to help one of the reasons I think I'm eating donuts today is I've been trying to eat really well I've been pretty good at it for quite a few weeks now but my won't get into this much but my my son's health is gone the other direction again so now I'm back to not sleeping much in dealing with that all day long nonstop stress and then doctors and emails and phone calls and all that sort of stuff and it's just I don't know I want to do something that's wrong I want to do something wrong well actually I think that's what my desire is it wrong or just self indulgent I don't I know for me it's something bad or I don't know what it is if I have a lot of stress and and wouldn't you know problems or whatever I want to do something just for Joe something I enjoy something that gives me a burst of adrenaline eat something trying something new whatever I don't know just because some pleasure please do I get a little pleasure is that what's going on in your brain maybe you will yeah it's it's something that I'm gonna have to turn up the shock it's something that I'm choosing to do I write it but that's what it is maybe the end you know I don't so everybody's got their thing whatever it is but the only several things the only people I've ever known and I've known a few people like this because we Marvel at these people they they always eat right they always exercise right they don't they never over drink they do everything right all the time they work really hard they do all the stuff right on the time and I think those people they get in a might be illegal thing I don't know I don't have to assign bad motives but I'm I think they get their pleasure from always doing the right thing so their self indulgence is being better than right they get to the end of the day and think I ate right I exercised I did nothing but better my my physical being my brain I turned it negative I get to today all I did was improve my life in all these areas all that feels good yes I do their self and all ties you to be in today and I think all I did was work take care my kids clean the house and I'm going to bed to kind of blank in day is that right and I think I found a loop is I don't actually need to be better than somebody in order to feel like I'm better than somebody in on that yes yeah that is so congratulations the people that they seem to get this I've done it all perfectly right and they get they get that endorphin shot from freaks keep him away from me god how do you get wired like that yeah can you buy that can you rent it can get trained for it I get that I mean because I know you know I mean really well I'm losing weight I step on the scale I get that shot of been Dorfman's I'm like yes but how long can it last some people last for a lifetime path **** yeah you know you don't I need to tell us about it keep it to yourself what's your baggy clothes can we so we can't see outfit your appreciate that Marshall's news next.

"They hired decided to send a non MOUs letters to fifty thousand women. Each letter was personally addressed the recipient and began with a flurry of compliments then came an invitation to have a little adventure after we met again on the street yesterday. And I noticed how you glanced. Interestingly in my direction, it's like if a terrible Craigslist, miss connection came to your home address local papers reported that many women felt threatened by the letters, some women chose to stay.

"She doesn't need you to then like cuss at her like her her husband. You know, don't add to the pressure. Just be like a friend who will listen like that's the friends that like when I'm gone through shit. Like, that's the best kind of people who are like, I'm not gonna like make this harder for you. Just gonna listen to all that stuff. But I think yeah, I think that they need to fit. Yeah. He has figured if he wants to work on that tune because that's the part that makes me sad like shit can happen in relationships. But like the party that has also like guilty should be the one like pioneering like the solutions being like we're going to therapy. I'm really working on this. And if he went one time to me that. It just sounds like a guy who doesn't have retention of Jia. You just went. So that he can say he went. Yeah. And I think even even if she wants to therapy to I think like saying you go to therapy. And it can also not work after therapy. Like deciding to go to therapy doesn't mean like over in this for the long haul. We're going to have kids. This is going to be like us are forever now, she can go, and they can go and she can realize and be like, you know, what I don't think this is working. I don't think this is changing. And I think it's also a really good way for her therapists will be honest like it'll be a good way for her to see if he does care and doesn't change. But who this is rough? And also like weirdly unique of like Craigslist, right? Did see it's been around since nineteen ninety five. So a while two years after I was born. Yeah. Wait, nineteen ninety-five over ninety three the med as meth adds up. So it's only two numbers if I do. But like, I just yeah. There's something weird here because this isn't like we've had calls before we're like girls have seen like their significant other their friends like husbands or whatever untendered and things like that. Like, this is such a I don't know like a weird way to go up out. Craigslist isn't I'm guessing when he first started getting into this graceless using Craigslist was the only thing he could go to and now that's what he's familiar with. Because he was in seventh grade. He wouldn't have tender wasn't around. Then he wouldn't have been able to get on dating websites. Yeah. So this is what was most successful to him. But he figured it out through his dad. That's I mean there. Yeah. So that's the whole thing that I'm kind of you know, there's something there. Something there with him. And he ought at that they need to maybe he needs therapy with his that. I don't know. But something needs to be figured out. Yeah. And it's not as happened when he was so go say, this is something that's like so ingrained in like in like a whole thing and therapy as like a habits and things that happened. Like when you start a certain habit when you're so young it just becomes a part of your identity and not necessarily not in like a positive way. Like, it becomes something that you associated with yourself and something that you have already come to terms with and that you kind of just deal with and you don't like an honestly like at this point, it probably has absolutely nothing to do with. No, exactly. Like, that's that's the part that sucks. It's like now, she is caught in the crossfire of something that like he'd isn't thinking about her, and it's not like any he's been doing this for so as been a part of his life more than it's than she's been a part of his life. Yeah. So there's something way way deeper here. And I think like, yeah, I think this is like a different kind of sense of like, the typical like cheating marriage things. But. She also didn't sign up for this. And I think that's like a big thing to end as somebody who has mental health problems. Like if somebody like, it would totally suck. If I was dating someone, and they were like, you know, I really can't like I don't wanna be with someone who likes struggles with that kind of stuff..

"And, hey, if there are times when someone like you're talking at lunch in a quiet conversation with somebody and you're talking about someone's constable tagging this converse, actually, and you're talking about women's rights and someone comes up to you. And it's like, I don't wanna hear you talking about that. Then you can make a stand there like that's something that for sure. But like when it's on someone else's like pay like this is the the clock in there working and doing all of this, you're interrupting and disrupting their workplace, and even if it makes your day, more fun. It also doesn't contribute to your productiveness at work at all. It's not like, oh, no. I need to be able to talk loudly and do all of this if go do your work. Yeah. Like, and like, it's just yeah. I just don't think it's a smart mentality to maintain in the workplace because it's not this office. Like, it's any office. That's not gonna slide. Right. And I'm sure that your employers to are probably trying to protect themselves as well. Because this can be an HR issue that you get written up, and you could easily get fired for this too. Yeah. Yeah. And then if you've got another job and you've to reference like latest employers, and it's like, oh, yeah. She had an issue with like making people uncomfortable at work. Yeah. And I think also you need to reframe your mindset of being like, I'm the level of noise, and like what we're not necessarily the the specifically what we're talking about. But like the everything that we're talking about in like loud levels like we need to fix that one hundred percent. And then from there also have a conversation with your co workers, you said that there's one or two people you already know the people who aren't comfortable, you should have already stopped talking about anything that makes them uncomfortable in front of them. And you know. Yeah. And if you wanna have fun with your co workers do it when you're not yet getting drink. Afterward. I think there's nothing like, that's I think that's a great thing to do. And also like if you work in a space where you guys have to be collaborative and all that like totally do that. But also don't in the process of it like you can still like you can still have whisper funny things like the people that are comfortable with that. But like without bringing other people into it near because I mean, I would feel if I felt uncomfortable. Like that's terrible just picked put yourself in those other people's shoes like that would feel super sucky, and it makes work not fun place at the expense of you having fun. And like, you won't have any less fun. You know? Yeah. I've made plenty of friends with the people I work with me all the time in we are onset. Yeah. Your time. And then when you go out on the weekends. That's when you have fun. So. Yeah. So she's never gonna listened to the budgets girl. You're in the wrong. That's yeah. The bottom line. That's tell you. Yeah. New. It's funny. It's everyone who's not in the wrong as like, hey, just give me the tough love. And then everybody who's in the wrong like. Like, what do I do? Yeah. And then here we are being like on up. Now, you get the tough love you get it when you don't expect it we'll tell you on your own. But she already knew she ate. You know, you're, you know, you're wrong. So he called the podcast. I'm twenty three. My best friend is now quavering. Jeez. Though, she got married late September and two months before she got married. She found out the guy she needed to has cheated on her through Craigslist. He played nothing person. But like he's been funding pictures, two girls and getting pictures back, and apparently he's been doing this someone's grade, which is for they regaining. They've only did it for three years. So she caught him like she was on computer, and like cut issue snooping a little bit, and but like sadness and so caught him to point of leading. And she told me what happened and I had a talk with her. I'm like, are you sure you can trust him like stuff like that? And he said he needed to change those out of he has a problem that needs to get help..

"He sent me a link to the to the school that that he worked for which that could have been anybody sending any link, and then I sent them a link to my writing at sl. And that could have been anybody sending that link as well. But we decided on the health. That's fine. It's good enough. We'll be fine. But the most proud I ever was I had an NFL head coach laster say to me. Hey, I heard you once went to some guy's house now in the country to watch a championship games. And I thought oh good. This is now I'm unique kind of off the wall guy and give you who would you guess of the head? And I haven't talked to many coaches about it. But the one head coach I gave a clue as a head coach. Who do you think teased me the most about the the riskiness of Craigslist football watching? Oh, you would have to be all -fensive coach. Nope. Nope. Defend now, don't you think a Yogi teas, you tease? You're more than an offensive coach would well, I would think it authentic coach would be more aware of the risks of Craigslist. I don't know why think that I'll say it has to be younger guy. I'll say Mike variable. Yeah. Nope. I was gonna I could tell right. You're never gonna get. It was Marvin Lewis. Oh, he had her. I Sistan sitting around him though. And he was in charge, you know, his head coach. So I think he kind of felt like there was a liberty to really pour it on. Well, I hope he phrase it as I heard you once went out to watch a football game the guy's house, and you could correct him by saying you heard incorrectly. I go out there every year. Yeah. All right. Let's get he's a first year. Yeah. Let's get to the show. Let's do the show. Canes have deep dive the Andes conference championship game watching habits. But let's talk about the actual match ups here we are going to start with the late game. That is the patriots at the chiefs where it is apparently going to be very cold. We'll talk about in the moment. But I've very general question to start for you. Andy. Who had is it about where I watched the games because I'm going to watch us at home. Okay. Sorry. We we covered that remember who had the best approach to Patrick Mahomes this year who who who defended him the best. That's a good question. Can we take the quicken? We treat the question as who defended the chiefs offense the best because the fan. Yeah. Okay. Because this is why Mahomes is going to be the MVP defending the chiefs offense in defending Patrick Mahomes are almost two different things which is why they're so hard to stop. There's Mahomes who runs the offense, and that is probably MVP caliber right there. And then there's a Mahomes at beats you after you beat his offense. The second play second reaction homes. I want to say the team that handled Kansas City the best. I think Baltimore gave him a lot of trouble. But Mahomes, ultimately beat them with those second reaction plays. So that would be my answer off the top of my head. It's. I kind of bring it to New England. I think that first half where they face behind. Remember? They were up what were the up like twenty four two nine at one point in that game. They jumped on Kansas City in the first half. If we could isolated to just that half a football New England gave Kansas City and Mahomes a lot of trouble back in week six. It's the teams that are showing him a bunch of different things. Those are the teams that have the best shot at it. But we learned our lesson early in the year. Remember, we thought the Steelers might get Mahomes to trip up in week three because they would show him a lot and they'll use only seen simple defenses, and he wound up just destroying that defense. So you've got to be a little bit complex and aggressive. I think the have your best chance, but that doesn't guarantee you success against Mahomes cute. Expect the patriots to basically put everyone up on the line of scrimmage and give him that look again. And if so do you expect them to come after him a little more often? I I think you have to diversify your fronts against him. Why why not why wouldn't you? It's part of your system in New England. You've got versatile guys. Kyle van.
