"We'll take you there live. We do have depth team coverage this morning. The fires burning Thousand Oaks to Camerino Malibu Griffith park zoo staff, saying the preparing the zoo animals for evacuation because of that fire. Let's start though with Malibu because much of that town is evacuated this morning. And that's where we find Kennex ten seventies. Pete Demetrio the area Balibou west if you wanna call it that all the way up to county line Zuma beach, these the people who are now going south Pacific Coast Highway trying to get out of the area like Tara appear and who had a van packed with herself. And family members have my children, and my mom notification over the phone or one through tax during next door. Out of here. And we're outta here. We host the house our neighbors who've lived here extensively to all. The fires were the ones that said you need to leave. So they've left, and we have left and the problem was they left in such a hurry that her mom's Walker got left behind. They hope they'll be able to get her out of the car and get her to wherever she has to go wants to get to a safe area. Traffic on PCH southbound jammed up as people are leaving the area fire itself on the ridges about two and a half to three miles away. A dense cloud of smoke extending up into the sky and about ten to fifteen miles off shore. There are some fixed wing aircraft that are going to start to do some drops here. I think we've got a DC ten dollars for large tanker that may want to or maybe. Well, apparently, we've lost Pete. So from there that was Malibu, let's go to Calabasas, and here's Craig Wagner. We've been watching this fire burn, and it has been since about three o'clock in the morning when we left from Thousand Oaks and came up here to this area of is adobe road.

"Northeast of me at this point. And it looks like it's headed more to the idea of hitting the area above Canaan do road and towards Zuma beach it to the city of Malibu proper, then again, if these winds shift, well, the fire could move in that direction, and there is plenty of unburned fuel up here. Vicki I mean, this this place. All the way to the ocean was two thousand seven that's eleven years worth of fuel. And with red flag conditions. This could go up real quick. So the Coast Highway near zoo on P, seventy NewsRadio. All right. Thanks for that. Let's go to Calabasas in here's Craig Wagner. We're live now at the area of a Gora road. And this is one of the places where we've been keeping watch on this fire, but also keeping watch on on the just the crazy mess that it's created for traffic. The one zero one freeway is closed both directions here. And the freeway closure has meant that a lot of people are piling onto some of these surface streets and are trying to figure their way around a raise Dobie road is the overpass that I've been watching as people come off the one oh one freeway southbound if they make it that far, and then there are taken off into the surface streets, and then all around them from the hills as this smoke rising. I drove up this morning. It was in the three o'clock hour this morning from Thousand Oaks and the smoke was so heavy on parts of the one. Oh, one that it was like driving through thick fog. And the exception or the change the difference was that it was you know, if the smoke burn your eyes was kind of hard to breathe, and that's partly the reason why that one one freeway is closed because the driving on it was just so dangerous this morning. And then, of course, the fire jumps the one zero one freeway because of the wind those embers being carried in the wind. So that was a problem. I talked with one woman who came up here like so many others who was told to leave her home. She did that she has a dog. She had trouble finding shelter that was taking pets been here for hours. So you and the dogs. One dog barks too. How did you learn about evacuations in my phone said get out then I went to a friend's house and she had to get out. So we both got out then we went to third friend's house and they had to get out. So we, you know, finding I said the heck with it. Here you are camped out in in your your SUV with the dog in the back. I know you can't get into a shelter, and you can't get into a hotel. So, but I'm glad I'm safe here. I talked with some people in west village this morning who left their homes as well. And you know, the same thing for them. They couldn't get into a hotel. And so they camped out in their car slept in it since midnight in some cases in a grocery store parking lot because that was the safer alternative after the police came through analyze speaker and told them to get out and that was about the three o'clock hour this morning. There's some wind that seems to be picking up right now. And I've noticed that in about the past hour, and I'm looking toward the hills here from raise adobe road. More thick black smoke billowing into the sky from the Wolsey fire and that smoke this is a new area that must have taken off here because it is heavy dark black smoke rising into the sky right now from what looks like a new very active part of this fire. Not only local police, but the feds there will be people undercover. And he says that this will be a safe event that they plan for all kinds of terrible scenarios. This is the pressure valve all that cultural conflict at eleven thirty this morning. And that is because we'll be moving some of the stage that they're building out onto the street and kind of preparing a lot of the side streets, which some of them have already closed for this crush of people that begin descending on West Hollywood.
