"Let me say this is so room or fill okay. There is some truth inside of it. I'm gonna read you the story that i'm gonna give you my thoughts all right okay. Here we go. The story says as florida georgia line on the verge of breaking up. They already had social media. Break-up tyler hubbard and his wife. Hailey unfollowed brian kelly and brittany on instagram. Which by the way. It may sound trivial but that's significant to and follow somebody that means you don't wanna see there. She is anywhere you're mad at them. Some reason somebody picked up on that in new spread like wildfire on the internet. Go back to tyler so we tried quite any fall re followed became but it seems like their political differences may have caused a again. This story this is not me talking to you. Tyler leans left. Brian does not and britney who is. Brian kelly's wife said i never considered a difference of opinion of politics and religion and philosophy as a cost or withdrawing from a friend. I'm going to stop there. I'll tell you that. It's funny. Because i think at times we should all in follow situations. Don't make us feel good. That doesn't mean we're not going to follow and get back into it if they disagree politically correct. They're human beings have every right to do that for and in a very political time when everybody just spouting off crowd they have no idea about. You wanna follow somebody. Great probably not. The smartest people would notice. I can't believe people noticed navia. Munem yeah i have no problem. They're human beings in relationship they should fight sometimes or that's not a healthy relationship if you don't ever have fight with your significant other and they are significant others in florida georgia line. Then that's not even a real fulfilling relationship you should have differences and it's also okay and this is where things start to to annoy the crap out of me. It's also okay. That people don't agree politically and it's also okay to go. I don't agree with you so much. I can't take it right now. But we'll be friends again but i must step away for a second so everybody needs to see tiafoe so so the story is somewhat true as far as their believes in this and if they wanna follow each other for there's that but as far as them breaking up that's just all rumor all rumor. It ain't happening. I don't know that's not happening say happening. I blocked ray. Why i'm i blocked right now. Right still blocked. So ray is one of the closest folks to me. I blocked them. They couldn't take his crap anymore. I love him needs to chill out. It's funny though. That's really funny. I'll just go past them. Roadway maybe it was just election time. When i don't wanna see that stuff so i'm going to block you temporarily now than over. I'll follow you. Because we're still friends. And i love you. I eliminated people on facebook on both sides shut. Exactly you don't know what you're talking about. Though i'm gonna make a prediction here i do. We're going to look. What is today november eleventh twenty twenty. I think if we look back in november eleventh twenty twenty two it will be less divisive. I do feel like wiser leadership creates environments. And i think we will have a less well. We'll soon be bored by president which is a great way to ducking. Yeah that is good Remember the days when you like. Oh the president's on it you have to think twice a who's representing okay. Got it. yeah. I do think there won't be less. No i never had to think joking. Never jokin ron. I am predicting a less divisive time two years from now. Okay that's cool. I like that in any movement in that direction but Florida georgia line. I'm predicting they're not breaking up. I wanna go ahead and take the so. I'll take the not favourite and it's okay that they fight. Sure everyone fighting. We'll get a speaker box love below. Which is what outcasted to records in one. Big boy did a whole album. Andre three thousand at a whole album. They put together as outcasts. Maybe we'll get a little hubbard album. Okay i like that. But which ones florida. And which ones georgia florida is bouquet. Tyler is georgia okay. I believe woohoo my line. What state up my lions pick wisely. My friend right. That's we've talked about enough dumb things today. Well we have actual proof of voter fraud for the first time. Oh in the vote for new zealand's bird of the year. To contest organizers caught someone sneaking in fifteen hundred extra votes for spotted kiwi serious. Come on this is the only proof. There is any voter fraud right now so i wanted to share that. Thank you about fifteen hundred. Fraudulent votes have been cast for the little spotted kiwi and forest and bird's verte the your competition. The votes briefly pushed the kiwi puga. Pooku to the top of the preferred bird leaderboard. They have been removed. That's just not fair. Not fair to the other birds that's true. Here's the voice mail we got for last night. "Let me tell you got so much going on. First of all check out the record. God family country. It was this summer but you know you probably nothing's been normal and we're starting to get a bit normal. It feels now so it's gotta be we're putting out music and not being able to really tore it was it is super weird promote and and what's really weird when we put this album out. We didn't go to the marketplace with a strictly through download because we felt like did make sense because at the time when we first put it out nobody was going shopping for the most part especially not buying cds. And we're not gonna be like look. I know you're probably not working. So if you can't buys no big deal listen to us you know. Listen to it online. You know being afford one song. That's cool you know and we still to date have not pushed the hard product to all the main outlets. You can't get the hard product on our website. And i don't know other places but But as far as it being in walmart of those kind of places we didn't do that and yet i had like the biggest i had. Yeah during a pandemic so which told me that people still very much love to hear music. So that's a good thing or love to hear craig morgan's music. I think you're not giving yourself enough credit here. Music is a very healing thing. And i think it doesn't matter i mean even blake shelton seal and records kaelin. Did you enjoy your experience here. My favorite phrase now around the house when you're on us give it a grammy every song. She's like go back in time and give that one song just for you. That will do after we're done afterward. I what is it. Well you guys are you know. Engaged everything you're gonna. I wrote a song. We wrote a song that i said we went through some hard times after losing our son and i wrote we wrote the sound because i think people give up too easy and you guys are going to run across some gravel roads. It's going to be tough. You're gonna you're gonna hate him. Sometimes i promise you and he's gonna be very angry with you at times but this is song about not not letting that steph interfere. Is this song already out. It's on the new.

"A sad song it's beautiful. It's about a person who's dreams are better than his real life and he wants to stain dreams and someone wakes them up because they think he's needs to go home but he's like i was home in my head. Oh you just described that song to the to perfection. that is exactly you know. I just wrote a song called the mask. And it's kind of the kerner description of that same thing you know. We have to put on this mask when we go to work. And i'm not talking about the physical mass that we're wearing like you have a crappy day. Bobby you've had crappy things happen in life and you still get up and you go to work. You put that mask on. And that's what almost home for me was about. The old man was laying there sleep and he was even though he might have been chilly in his dream in his unconscious state He was happy. you know and and that's okay. That's okay that we do that. We're supposed to dreaming when you quit dreaming. You quit living in my opinion craig morgan's here almost. Yeah it'd be glad.

"In part of the people part of the show. Yeah you know we exactly we We add to prepare we. Do you know. I knew back in march we were not going to be able to do our normal in our normal. Cma award. so i started working on an idea design and you know the design. I knew how to do it. How are we going to do this. And the design was Set design was we put together whether we had an audience or not but the whole idea from day one was tried to have an audience so we decided you know what that's why don't we but don't we do something that's more intimate where we were. The audience is the artist you know just just the artists. The artists plus one And so The nominated artists that. That's who is going to be our audience tonight. And so far That's still happening. 'cause you never know in this day and age. I mean changes by our right. I mean just you know from one day to the next. You don't know what to expect. And but but yeah we. We felt like that. That would be unique. You know and and the artists would really like that opportunity to be able to be together. So that's what we're doing. Robert eaton the executive producer of the as on with us right now tonight. Eight seven central. See the winners live on abc. And i'm gonna ask you this like every single time you don't know who the winners are right. I do not. I still do not know who the winners are. So you know what bobby you know me. I don't wanna know for one thing because it's like i would mess up in slip. I would probably slip on this show. And now i don't trust myself enough to to be able to know who they are. I just so you know for me. I hear it it. It's kind of exciting for all of us that are working on the television show because we got to be ready you know. We don't know who is winning. And so and i you know what i kinda like it that way because i get to view it as a as a fan and as of you and i'm still a fan of all of these people so i do not know there is robert. Didn't follow him at robert l. deaton tonight. He's pushing all the buttons making all the calls at the awards. And if you don't agree with who wins entertainer of the year. It's roberts fault so hit him up yelling some people. Do i get that every year. A little bit but No i have not trust me. I have no i have no say in who wins so good to talk to you. See tonight all right buddy. Thank yous illiterate. Arabia's robert rubin are hosting it tonight so she'll be pretty cool and i'll be presenting an award tonight so you can. No one's going to just to see that but keep an eye open. You may see me come out there all right there about once a week put in contact a single contact for what just so if i'm doing anything athletic glasses don't get knocked off only have one eye that works swelling. Have one i that in. It's hard and i don't do it every day so i haven't really developed that clean finger eyeball done. It's probably three or four minute process for me every single time. Anyway here we're contacts it all used to. Yeah okay but you dealt with them for years. Were you good with them after a while where you like. Yeah oh yeah you get used to it. After probably about a few months you just are like oh no big deal i can put amendment allegation opping water like at the bottom. I put it right back in. Okay here's the thing. I came and see the contact glasses on my glasses on to even see the context on my finger. Oh boy this is a whole process. And i'm dealing with so. I'm trying to get better at it. I read a story this morning. That a man has invented a robot that puts in takes your contact lenses. Oh a robot. Anyone who's ever had to contact lenses knows what a pain it can be a florida man named craig. Her off certainly understood that dilemma. Which is why invent a robot though will now insert and remove it for you from your eyeball. But all that oh. He was diagnosed with some disease in two thousand almost lost his sight. He received three corneal transplants. Once he discovered a contact lens at work with a period where his hands or shaking because he could listen. I get it buddy. Feel the same way. I get that. So there's a robot that uses suction cups to measure. The precise amount of suction cup was put on the wrong. I've august exactly. I wouldn't wanna be one of the test subjects for this or what. Have you distracting their move real quickly on somebody calls you your phone rings. It's currently in clinical trials. He hopes to have the device ready for commercial use as soon as next year. He is an eye doctor. it looks like at least. I'm watching his news story and he's by a lot of those things but the contact lens that is no. That's no joke. If you've never had never had it until now. And i put one and one ball but you guys love. Lisa are amazing. I can't get it. Because i have one either doesn't work and something happened to my other. I'm just done so. I just live with what it is but you guys are. Both big advocates. Lake was a game changer. Because because like really the like you say the pain in the butt of putting context on taking off sometimes fallen asleep with them on. It's not fun so the lazic is like you see better than you do with contacts. And you don't have to mess with your eyes ever and you guys went. Where'd you go volt vision in arkansas. Volt visual It wasn't fayetteville. Okay morgan where'd you go to wang vision. Here in nashville. And he also did like dolly parton fans and you put a contract on three seconds. I hit loading vision. Here in nashville. I'm just saying you know if you trust dolly parton instead of me. Go to them. I'm not even sure dolly went there. Prove it hey they have pictures. Okay well then you got to believe her picture of dolly my bedrooms and hanging out with pride it. I'm just kidding. Here's the voice mail. We got this last night from brittany. In north carolina. From his on my daughter lila. He's eight years old and she has saved up to buy and then tender switch video game and she's all excited 'cause she's worked really hard but that's that's in inside. He really does not want to have video games. And i kind of agree but at the same time she has worked really hard. We are pretty much anti video game. We've pretty much children. No santa bring for the nintendo switch that much. The answer's no right. Santa can't show up and supersede any decision. That's been made no. You cannot let that can't happen yes. Sometimes adults have to write santa to tell him that. Yeah yeah so. I'm telling you britney if you guys have talked about it you gotta let santino not to bring that. Because if he brings it. That's no good for the battery at home So no world-class vice guy says no one that one good i. Here's another one. This is an advice question. We got last night morning studio. I was calling to get some advice from sabi. My husband and i disagree a lot on parenting He says i'm to suck. And i think he's too strict and we cannot seem to find a happy medium so the every advice on that i would appreciate it shows. Cynthia checks and balances works wonderfully great. You guys don't agree because you're always gonna be checking each other. I don't think anyone needs to give in. But i think you'll find the happy medium as long as you both work together and compromise. But that's why our government's built on checks and balances people disagree completely summit. Completely right they're like. Hey let me let me step in here. Where you think eddie. Well i think the there are definitely two different roles for two different parents. You know one of them wants to be the stricter parent and one of them's not a strict. Whatever that's okay. I think it's all right to be different. I think the kids will learn what each parent has and what they're supposed to be doing with the kids resume raising them. It's fun one more voice. I would like to get your address that i was trying everybody in for all that crime. That's going on over a pair of shoes have a good day amen. Yeah amen. shoes don't need tissue now. you need tissues baby beating you all right. Thank you guys. You can always leave us a voicemail. Eight seven.

Oh maybe not annoy him too much with talking about color because it's such a common thing world-class advice given now. I'm really colorblind. Dark colors they all look the same to me at once. It hits a certain shade at all. Looks black and growing up as a kid. I struggle with. Because i couldn't match close on. I couldn't understand why What i would do first of all. I don't why is it funny that have a deficiency in my eyeballs or my brain. There's not a lot you can do as far as how you can help him. Because if you're a little too over descriptive cause me look. This is green slapping ahead. No i can tell doesn't like green. I would just figure out what his color deficiencies are because some people struggle red green and people struggle in different ways. Be aware of it. And don't shame him. It'd be like have you ever need help like i'll help you because what happens is starting to make fun of you. Don't want to deal with it so you just free ball and run and it doesn't turn out so well. I still happens to me so not a lot. You can do being proactive about it. But you can't tell them what's happening and you're you're happy to help them. Okay okay great. Thank you so much. You know what colors. He can't see I think it's like the dark colors like you were saying browns and blue dark blues. Just be aware that if it's a dark color he may not know what it is and don't correct him in a in a manner of now dummy so there's a chance he could come out of the room looking silly because he's no not matching colors. I used to. Yeah okay so and you get. Isn't you can help organize for that. Oh that's cool good. I've had people do that in my life. Yeah say i know you struggle with caller someone to put the blacks here but the browns here especially if he has like different jackets or genes the stuff like that jennifer. All your fine okay. Okay all right call. Thank you later. There's a guy who sold his car around thirty five hundred bucks okay. The next day he stole it back using his spare set of keys. What pretty smart guys stop it. Here's the thing. He had pulled this off at least seven other times and they never caught him but if he just stopped like five he'd been able to pull this off like he's we're in twenty twenty in like twenty sixty. I wonder how many people do that with houses. The you know like you sell a house but you can always have the key to the how you changed a lot. You would think most people change locks saying you did it. I'm not saying anything. But they busted him. He's arrested on several charges. Are here we go. We're we're pumper. Here is wednesday tonight. The cma award. They're happening so shout there. I'll be on that show on. Watch on the bobby bones show now. I would assume devil went down to georgia. How about long haired country boy is going to be on their long hair. Yeah long haired. Country boy. Trudy texas We got dirks. Asha mcbride's cleaner Brothers osborne and we're going we're gonna just end it with jason aldean's so it's you don't wanna miss it. It's gonna be rocking you know. You're no for matching up. Artists country artists artists from different genres. Coming into an really co- performances. Any of those tonight. There are although. I can't take credit for that because they were already They'd already been recruit. You know it already worked together so this year i. Although i can't take credit for it. I feel like that. It's going to be just awesome to see I we're going to have gabby barrett with charlie booths And you know it's funny. This will be the second time. That i worked for charlie. Because i actually go charlie putin first network television appearance like i don't know seven six seven years ago So it's great to be reunited with him. So that's gabby and charlie and then We also dan shea with justin bieber and which were for with ten thousand hours which is going to be super cool in a an incredible iconic location and It's funny because the last time that justin did any type of network television. It was with me as well so So i think the you don't wanna miss that. It's going to be incredibly cool. I am a believer now. You i am only in the last year or so. Caitlyn went to church with justin bieber before she moved out here loves them. Says he's a great guy. And then i watch his youtube. Both seasons like his whole docu series. The new episode that came out too. So i'm a believer. I'm gonna admit right here. Yeah me too. You know what he's at. He's awesome and the first time that i worked with justine. My gosh i probably sixteen maybe fifteen or sixteen At music directed a music video for him and rascal flatts That duet together Gosh it's been a long time now but that. That was the first time i've worked with him. I worked with him many times since then and the you know what he's just he. I can't call him a kid anymore. Because he's all grown up and married but he's just a great person and i love him a lot so tonight in the audience there will be people sitting but is it just nominated artists.

"We'll see what happens knows if you want to hear live music and you don't WanNa, Watch it on that damn movie screen I. Mean I can do that. We could go make video and film ourselves and then put it up on video screen but I would rather stand up on the stage and perform and yell and scream and answer questions and stuff, but we can only do that if the fans are doing what they're asked to do. So any fun it ain't it's not back to where we were and I think we will get there someday we will be back to where we were. If you could snap your fingers in everything go back to normal. Over lockdowns over everything's back to the way, it was what would be the first thing that you would do. Big Achio. Yeah. Yeah, that would be the first thing probably I mean the other stuff I kind of do anyway I'll be honest there's aside from a mask. When we go in grocery store you know not being around people that much my friends we don't get to see him as much. We do that. But some of our friends we do the guys that we know are quarantine if I know. They've been in their house or not been out doing stupid stuff for fourteen days I still revisit. You know I'm not looking on their faces. I Lick my wife's face I. Kissed her face so I if she gets it, I'm going to get it is what it is. I can't change that unless you gets it and I know about it and I don't have it. Then she gonNa Sleep and different beverage. No, I'll be with her I mean you know that's part of it. You know but let the other people the other thing. Yeah. I would. Definitely we would go to a big freaking show and let everybody stand there and toast America. You Know You'll crowd surfing over sure not having to worry about it. But Craig Morgan thank you so much.

You been writing a little bit I haven't written as much as a lot of guys I'm not crazy about the zoom writing sessions I write off of energy and I'm very. person even for the ballot stuff I require that. So it's a little more difficult for me to write the way. A lot of people are having to right right now. So I'm only writing with a very few select people who I know we're quarantining so that we feel comfortable enough to at least get in the same room even though we may not be you know right across from each other high five and hug and like we normally would at least we can see each other and feel the energy. And use that energy to right I used superstitious about writing at all. You're like an instrument you always or a place. You always liked the work or a certain time of day or anything like that. No, I believe you right when I'm fortunate because of the success that we have had in writing and with our career that I try to right when I wanna right and when I feel like riding, I've been the guy who in the past wrote every day five days a week I went into offices in. Nashville we would sit down. We would right sometimes to solve go home. It was a job. I'm fortunate enough now that I right when I wanna right if I feel like right and I liked that because I feel like I write I write less but I write better and I feel like I'm creating better quality material now doing it when I to do it and when I feel driven to do it, and that's what's what happens a Lotta song writers are writing good. We all call each other than like. Man, I wrote a hit negative funny. I did too must be something in the air and that's the way it happens. You know it's just like when you feel pressured or push right I will write and that no instruments know craziness people that right with me say that I pay a lot I'll go in and out of the room I can literally right to songs or two different people at the same time I'll go from one room to the other lot of that has to do with my ocd add. At once I've never even heard of that. Wow, and you can keep the melody straight and all the harmonies and everything all. Those people can like right with both hands at the same time with that too that now I can't do that. But I think I can multitask Kinda when it comes to writing I'm able to do that I'm not saying it's good. I'm just saying. You mentioned painting what have we been painting? We have family bins called the Gallery Morgan Farms it's a gallery and we sell art. Most of the artists would stuff that I make I've created bowls not logs Chicoutimi boards out of old, hundred-year-old barn would and different things like that. We also says the paintings from different things different. So I decided to Saudi one day I had the extreme sauce I was gonNA paint on the sauce I paint a landscape above old building with some mountains behind it ups thinking about Alaska I'm a big fan of Bob Ross now. A painting Oh, man Oh hey snapped at brush. That's the most exciting part. That's Whenever I need to chill out the end of the day I throw on the joy of painting. Just watch him get his painting knife out and make a mountain though it's great dude. I. Just watching him. It's like it's like doing. I've never done acid but people tell me what it does and I get the same effect from Bob Ross. Oh it's the best I totally agree with you. Oh, now you make me WanNa go put them on and try in paint never tried that but. So. I. Guess Is, is there a silver lining of of of quarantine for you? It sounds like this might be it. Well the first couple of months. It was kind of like a forced vacation, which is kind of Nice. You know doing things that I got like you said at the beginning of this the chores I got everything done on our farm that I've been putting off for two years. Literally I'm not kidding I were have gotten everything done, and then after I finished everything's what do we do now? So I would go to my place in Alaska and spend two three weeks there. So we just been kind. Of working and build them but it's like now I'm starting to get angry because I'm ready to go to do something else. I'm tired of doing chores and my my wife Chore List DoesN't Stop I. Mean Every time I think I've got a break and I'm going to be able to relax a little bit. She has a list of new list of crap for me to do so i. think it's good. It has caused us to think about other things we've focused more. We do this Friday's at four laugh. Strain on facebook, it's caused us to get more creative. When you think of generating sources of revenue within the industry, we've had to think about that we are doing shows. We have some shows that are coming up but since we're talking and we're GonNa talk about it on my Fridays at four well, we're going to be extremely pressing on our promoters and everyone involved to try to ensure that people are adhering to the social distancing requirements that are put four in areas that you need to more mask wear. A mask look whether they work or not I don't really know there's so much damn information out there who knows what to believe but what I will say what I tell my people what I'd here too is if it makes someone else feel more comfortable if I think it don't work if it makes that older lady feel more comfortable about being around me I'm Gonna I'm GonNa wear for that time a having said that I trust separate myself from people much I can. So I don't have to wear it. Just because I don't like the way it feels but we're going to. Do everything we can to ensure that we're at least doing our par- I can't make people out there do everything that we're going to be doing but we hope that they're to least adhere to the requirements that the show is asking of them so that we can do shows otherwise we won't be able to do shows at all and there are people doing shows and they're doing these things and it's working. We're GONNA ask that when? We do our little shows and we're not doing a bunch. We canceled a lot of stuff promoters canceled a lot of stuff. In fact, it's canceling daily. We have three or four shows up and I don't know if they're going to happen. But the ones that do happen we're going to do our part and we're GONNA ask people to do their part, and if they don't do their part and they might be asked to not be there..

They truly design it like there's an art to how they design. It's not just a science. No cars is an art. It's for people like me I like to drive. No. I'm not someone out here who needs to be doing three hundred miles an hour but I liked the handling of a good vehicle and I love a great bow sound system which these fees can come equipped with. So if you want more information on the Mazda, C UV lineup including the first ever see X. Thirty. GOTO MAZDA? USA. Dot Com slash iheart and don't forget to explore their strongest finance options. was there ever moment when you consider stepping back for music and maybe not not doing anymore in the midst of all this were did you always know music was was always that was going to be your North Star, I'm still not sure. No No. No. I mean, you know when I left the military and started percents music there was about three or four years that I had songs that were hits on the radio I mean almost home was a huge hit and even then I was unsure if this is what I was intended to do or what I really thought should be doing. So to speak, it wasn't until about two thousand eight when I was made a member of the Grand Ole opry that I felt like this is what I'm supposed to do and I've made my mark and I'm here to stay it's a pretty good signed being made a member. But it took something so huge for someone like myself to septic I kept saying you know maybe I should go back in the army maybe I should be a policeman maybe I should do this. This isn't really you know I didn't I wasn't sure but then fast forward to two thousand sixteen when our son died I really consider not going back at all I didn't know if I just didn't know if I had the ability to do it, I didn't know if I could get on stage and sing without being emotional and I'm a man's man and I you know at the End. Up Fighting with somebody you know or whatever. There's lots of thoughts that ran through my mind and I really was contemplating whether or not I should even get back and after taking some time off and looking at it, I realized my son would want me to do this. He loved me doing this and I knew that he would want me to do this especially if it meant by. Doing this on able to do more for other people in that is the reality. If I weren't doing this, we couldn't do the things that we're doing in our in our life outside of the music, and as you said, your music itself helped so many people and I want to talk to you about a song. It didn't make the album, but you shared it on social media recently the. Mask, which you you dedicated to the frontline workers and it's funny. The title seems like it was inspired by the pandemic but you had that when around for a while, right? Yeah. We actually we actually wrote this before the pandemic had nothing to do with the physical massacre. We're talking about the mass that we all put onto sometimes get through our day in particular Oz particularly thinking about soldiers. At the time in law enforcement officers and whoever people that go out and put themselves in harm's way or sometimes they had to put on a brave front that was the mass that was referring to, and it did not make the album cut for whatever reason, and I think a lot of that because when we work it on the album, I just felt like it didn't kind of fit in. I'm not sure that I had tweaked to to this weakness that it is. Now I think there was a few things that I did after the fact after the album came out in felt like this was a strong song especially in light of all, that was going on with our frontline warriors out. There are doctors, nurses, EMT's law enforcement office, all these people out there who were. Taking a chance of getting this virus, but still doing their jobs and so then we have not only the invisible mass that they put on the actual physical mass that they were wearing. So we we released it out as individuals single for people with portion of the proceeds going to help our front line people great track, and your album also revisits five songs from earlier in your career. What was it like revisiting those at the meetings changed for songs like About Sunday, or a lot of man in that little boy. Oh Yeah. For sure a lot of men that little boy was a song that I had not even listened to or thought about for a long time, and now that song is is compounded emotionally for me based on everything that's happened in my life and that little man that I wrote that song about has grown. Up that was my first born son who is now I, was like fifteen years ago, right? Yeah. So he's a lot older. He's a grown young man. So it really allowed me to reminisce about that time in our life that song did for me and it's a great song I thought it's just really loved what that Song said in. It's a positive message and I think we. Need to be teaching our children, these same messages today, and for me upcoming grandchildren, you know we need to be instilling because I had dear, friend say we're not raising boys. We're training future young men and same with our daughters. Now, we're not training daughters we're raising future young women. This is the future of our world. So we need to be teaching the right things great ethics. Kindness and love and those things that we should be doing. But anyway. So that's what that song kind of West from. That's what I love about. Sunday was such a huge yet still a big hit still played a lot and that song still holds everything that it helped for me the day that we recorded, it still holds true for me today I still get the same images. Could to hear what was it? Was it hard to choose what songs you were going to revisit for this? I mean, you've got so many hard to pick the five it was and I will say that process involved more than just myself. We collectively between myself management label everybody kinda pitched in their two cents worth and the songs that received the most attention with a song that ended up. Record done by committee. That's a good way to do it. Lots of people's input I you're in lockdown. Now I'm glad to hear you've been you've been going up to Alaska be I see people reacting lockdown in so many different ways you've got some people who are are doing every home improvement thing they possibly can bake and bread and they're teaching themselves. To make all sorts of and then you the people that are just really having a hard time getting motivated and feeling really kind of like Oh get another day. How have you been feeling? He'd been really productive or the other. The other way you covered I, cover the gamut there literally days I'll wake up and go I just don't want this just. Got To be over soon I don't WanNa do nothing underway here I'm not a video gamer but like I might put a game on play for like four hours and just numb brandon nothing mush you know. But then the next day I go out and build a set of stairs and I I go bush-hog I spent yesterday I was on a tractor. Pulling a Bush cut and brush for nine hours. That's all I did for nine hours burnt from the Sun. How are you awake right now? So it I've covered the gamut. So I can relate to what anyone out there might be going through I'm very fortunate. We have a lot of property so I can get out and go run I can run my Eight ten miles and not not have to worry about being around a bunch people but I'm also. On all that property and it was just me and my wife and I love her more than the air avary but. Upset. And I'm sure I get on her nerves her nerves worse than she gets a mind. But taking up painting I started doing some painting. I'm a big believer in a body in motion stays in motion a body at rest as at risk. So and I believe the same thing about our minds we got to stay active play word games. Even if you just walk walk.

"Sponsor the song. Oh Gosh numerous numerous stories that one thing that I noticed when people would facebook me send me a facebook message or seem instagram message or whatever. However, I get these messages through all of the platforms they set that I. Love How most of them start out with I know you will probably never read this but and they tell me their story and after. Reading a few of them I was adamant about ensuring that people knew that I do read every one of those. I. Read Them Everyone Myself. In fact, on a plane coming home from somewhere I was with my wife and I was reading them in my wife said what's wrong and I said what they want and she said you got tears running down your face. And I did I had been reading those and my wife said, why do you do that I sip because they told me they wanted to tell somebody and I think it's important that I hear and they know that I read them I might not respond in fact I don't respond to most of them because that entails a long conversation usually and I just don't have the heart of the hurt the pain it's a lot more but I do read them all and I bear their pain in sheriff and that's Something that we don't like parents that have lost child say that in a weird part of a group of people that we don't want to be a part of, but we are so but I do read them all and and there have been a lot of very impacting the that has hung with me today still, and it was early on in the life of the song impact I. Think it was after the Kelly Clarkson airing and that was like the second or third time that it became the most downloaded song about. On there. But man said, something he said he was taking his daughter schools that I've never lost a child Must be never heard of you didn't know your music was listening to the airing of Kelly Clarkson and I heard this song in it made me pull over to the side of the road and Cry Thinking about my daughter who I just dropped off at school and I thought man this song is impacting someone who can't even relate to what the song was truly about and he told me went on to say that he had gotten out of church and got away from him but he prayed the song caused him to think that way an update. That's exactly why did that's what God wanted to happen and it did happen and if all and its numerous stories. Like that but that one really stuck with me because it made me realize that it's not about me. It's not about my hurt across my pain and maybe not even his what. God intended to hear him say that and high caused him to praying and he's thinking about that his daughter I mean that's that's what music does, and that's what we entertainers and singers and songwriters. That's what we really should be striving for is to have that kind of impact in less about trying to have a number one song on country radio,.

"Hello everybody. My name is Jordan runtaugh but enough about me, my guest today served in the eighty second and one hundred first airborne division's before making his mark on the country music world sincerely, two thousands he scored hits like that's what I love about Sunday and Redneck Yacht Club in May released God family country his first album of new material since the death of his son and twenty sixteen. He addresses the loss on the standout track, the father, my son, and the Holy Ghost, which is topped download charts and inspired faith in an untold number of listeners I'm happy to welcome Craig Morgan. Thank you. You hear the rain in the background. Ooh, bitch plants needed out there. Is it hot? Yes it is too much needed rain. I wanted to check on your first of all. I saw you had a bit of an accident recently with a machete. Good it's healed up. I've already started running again. I'm a big runner biker. So that was the worst part of that knowing that I wasn't going to be able to ride my bike or run for a few weeks. But I'm I'm fine healed up and running and getting back in shape and actually headed back to Alaska here pretty quick to go back up there again for a couple more weeks What were you doing up there I have a property, a place up. There are cabin off grid it's about. About three and a half hours from Anchorage. Forty five minutes from the nearest town about nine miles from the nearest road. That's training for the I did arrive. That sounds amazing. Training for the iron dog. Similar to the I did arrive but they don't snow machines. So so we there as much as we can and mainly just go up there and enjoy our place in. The. Best time for it. Oh, my Gosh I've so many things to ask you first and foremost God family and country your first album in a number of years. What's the story you wanted to tell on this album I don't know if I really I gotta be honest. I don't know if there was a story I just try to record great music right and sing songs that I think People WanNa hear I will say in this case I felt like all of this music was stuff that we need to hear these are. Very upsetting troublesome aggravating angering times that we are dealing with a lot brought on by the introduction of covid. So I think it's important that we know that there is sun in the future. There's light out there and I think these songs kind of portray that his the name God family and country there is a song on their called God family country. It's an action an older song, but but I just wanted to have some positive music even though there might be some maybe some dark undertones like on the song going out like this. The music might lead you to believe it's a little bit dark, but it's really a positive song talking about making up and not giving up. So there's a lot of that, and then of course, we have the hits on that. We recorded some of the stuff that people are familiar with that I felt like have have a positive message. One of the standout tracks on the album version of Gavin degr- soldier just incredible. Saw You. Were in the Armed Forces for seven years what is it about Gavin? Song that really captures the spirit of the men and women who serve I like every line in that song is a stand along line that is descriptive of the moral character of a servicemember coming. It's just so descriptive of the way I feel that the military personnel are I mean they have such a such a sense of gratitude for the most part now I can't. I can't speak on behalf of every service member but I can honestly speak on every service member that I know and I've met a bunch and they all tend to have this sense of pride and humility, which is really difficult to balance and they do it better than any other entity in the in the world I believe, and again that song truly I feel like represents the kind of people that service members are the people that. Are Willing to put themselves in harm's way you know I'll be the pain I'll take your pain. You know I'll find I'll find the things you need, and that's what they are. They're service people speaking of service people tell me about sipping on the simple life. Your CO writers are two airborne Rangers Yeah Service People. You're right to everyone rangers though Mike and I wrote that with in Washington DC one night after a few bottles of wine. Literally Sipping on the simple life you know it's again another positive song talking about even though these are difficult times I've been to places where the difficulties that we're experiencing now are of no comparison to the difficulty we have Christians being slaughtered all over the world as we speak the kind of stuff that they're experiencing. We truly have a great life in this country and I think it's important. We appreciate it and this song talks about the simple life and how to. Enjoy it. How did you first link up with Justin an Andrew? It's so incredible. How did that all go down or did you start writing a song with them? After? What was it a USO gala? It was a USO gala in Washington DC with finished it up and one of them actually approached me just and said, hey, we want to write a song with you. We got a great idea and I kind of laughed I said, well, it don't work that way but. I'm honored I'm Kinda honored but you know it really don't work that way and he's no you gotta right with. No and he goes no, you do your airborne airborne. You gotta right with us. Now also does that happen often looks like people coming up to you being like, Hey, we get right with you. People say it but generally not as assistant. I didn't say forceful I said is insistent. But you know what I thought about it and we didn't have anything going on the next day. We were leaving early to get on a plane saw I, got nothing to lose and they were their service members and we do share that and I thought well. I'm not going to be an asset, not sit down with them at least one enjoy their company and we did we had a blast. I wouldn't say we've become like super tight friends or nothing but we stay in touch I've done a few things with Justin sense doing some more things with him and for the military where he's involved and Andrew. If he weren't in Germany, we've probably doing more with him right now. So I look forward to when he gets home and we get to spend more time together I've made friends because of that song. That's awesome. Yeah. That's quite a reason to get into music making friends. Justice says that they had the majority of written. But as I recall, they didn't even have a really good idea Mike and I sat down and really help them out. That's the case he watches. We'll cut that part I. Will. Leave it there I'll pick on him all the top. Oh incredible series songs in there. Of course, the standout for me one of my favorites and I know other people have said this to understand if it's difficult for you to talk about. But I wanted to ask you about the father, my son and the Holy Ghost Written. For your son Jerry. How did that song come to be? It sounds like it was divine intervention in a way it was impact. Divine intervention was a god thing. I tell people that all the time I think I'm a decent. But I wouldn't consider myself a Harley Allen or any of the great deemed Dylan's or nothing, but this is very much the caliber of that I would say even greater than anything but not because of me, but because God was a difficult to write, it took me about four hours, which is in that in and of itself is not normal. It normally takes sometimes days to write a song of that caliber again. I. Attribute that to God and his intervention i. was just the vessel I held the pin and cried the tears in her while he put those words out there for me and I quite honestly when I wrote it, I didn't think it would ever be something that I would ever sing in public but I also appreciate God that and it's important that I do sing it because the response has been overwhelming and seeing it now hindsight's twenty twenty I'm now see why did it because this song has helped so many Other people are we sick tell you that it's helped me but it doesn't help me to sing this I in fact, it hurts everytime I sing it but that's okay. That's the cross that I must bear and I do it because I know that it does help other people and I think it's important that we do that as a society in our human race. We've kind of gotten away from that. We kind of got away from caring about other people in kind. Of, thinking focusing more on ourselves and how we feel you know you see it on all social media platform I don't like this. I don't like that instead of thinking about how we're impacting other people's lives and I think it's important that we do that. Nissan does that incredible? She said it it means so much. So many people has there been anything that fan has said to you that it's really stuck with you and and in particularly meaningful in.

"Hi, thanks for joining us. Yeah. So the poll selected from the archive is son by Forrest gander. What drew you to this poem while you're looking through our archive? Well, it has the same title as a poem of mine that's in the archive. And so that made it easy. I actually had a really hard time picking a poem. I mean, there's so I mean, obviously there so much almost one hundred years of pretty good home. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, some of them really some of the major poems of. Any poets kind of education in poetry. But but Finally, I just sort of decided to go with my gut, and when I had I read this when it came out it it slaughtered me. And it wasn't that long ago. But I think of when I think of New Yorker poems that that mattered to me this one kind of jumps right now. So all why don't we hear the poem his Craig Morgan tiger reading son, by Forrest gander, son? It's not the mirror that is draped. But what remains unspoken between us? Why saying anything about death? How the body comes to deploy the myriad worm? As if it were a manageable concept, not searing exquisite singularity to serve it up like a eulogy or a tale of my own or your own suffering, some kind of self abasement. And so we continue waking to a decapitated son and trees continue. To irk me, the heart of charity bears its own set of genomes you lug a bacterial swarm in the crook of your knee and through my guts rive helmets. Parasites who was ever only themselves at leftists Magna when your mother, and I were young we came across statues of gods with their faces and feet cracked away by vandals. But for the row of guardian Medusa heads, no one so brave to defaced those when she spoke when your mother spoke, even the leashed greyhounds stood transfixed, I stood transfixed. I gave my life to strangers. I kept it from the ones. I love her one arterial child it is just in you her blood runs that was quite beautiful. I love how you were at it. That was son by Forrest gander which way. In April, sixteen twenty eighteen issue of the magazine, and this poem, you know, is occasion. It seems clear by the loss of his wife that great poet CD right who happens to be my old teacher. And so this poem. I remember reading it and thinking what a powerful. Fearless Gimblett I'd poem. And I, you know, just thinking of a technically on the page. You have these couplets, which of course mirrors these pairs, both father and son and mother, and and son and husband and wife, you know, the whole of these connections, you know, even us reader, and and and poet, and you also have that great slant rhyme. I kept it from the ones I love. It's just you her blood runs. Those sounds. I think what do you make of sort of the form and the the tone how they kind of coalesce. I mean, I mean, so I think two things, you know, in in addition to the couple of which of course, you have this kind of twinning the lines are wildly uneven. You know? And so there's this way that it seems to strain against that. Like, you know, it's a poem about failing to communicate ultimately in. So there's this way that the the mishopin lines. To figure that. But then the other thing that I, you know, especially reading it aloud, you know, this mix of short and long sentences. The great, you know, the greyhound stood transfixed iced transfix these moments where he's repeating himself. He's he's trying to get it. Right. And kind of veiling. You know in the second to last line. I gave my life to strangers. I kept it from the ones I love. I mean, he's trying to he's almost trying to rewrite that phrase and make it more true or something. And you know, that that seems to keep happening the sentences have these little right tensions and arguments with each other. They also have these great mix of Anglo Saxon words in Latin eight words, you lug a bacterial swarm in the crook of your knee and through my guts, writhe Helmuth parasites, you know, this kind of it almost seems SCI fi..

"We just why do why do people need to sit in line online and be like, oh, well, that guy I was meaner what you think. I want to hear your opinion on the fight on the whole situation. A whole situation was at Fenway crippled. He doesn't even know what happened. I mean, I thought it sucks for both sides. I mean, I think everyone's at fault. They all look like assholes, but I think it was great for the sport. I think people are talking about it now, so that's that's what matters most Khabib guys. People are gonna wanna watch him now. Like he was a nobody before. Now everyone's gonna wanna watch him the point. Great point what I'm going to buy it because he's a fucking savage. Oh, you think do you think Conard got himself a rematch base on pushing this thing? The limits like this? Absolutely. I think McGregor can always get a rematch. That's the thing with Gregory's Conor McGregor if wants. Apparently before that happened, there wasn't going to be could be mentioned something about maybe possibly retiring. So who knows? But but once again, if a rematch happens, it's only because of the place that McGregor brought it to and the hate that he created in Habib towards him and his crew that made him do what he did. And now he might have saved himself a fucking rematch day that's gets paid those fifty men. That's all McGregor cares about. He worried about fucking getting sucker by by beads crew. Exactly. We're at about who signed the next check anyway. So let's Passover Scotty Darlan. Yeah, let's do it. Here's Scott darling. And before we get the Scott dial in just want to talk to you about the athletic for a little bit biz familiar with the athlete, correct? Yes. Craig Morgan from their Zona coyotes who work for the local newspaper moved over and they're scooping up. Amazing writers left and right. It's incredible. The Keisha on a whiff. Twitty Shirley aware them, the athletic. It's a subscription based sports publish a diehard sports fan. It's no ads is no pop ups and listen. If you saw my Twitter, two weeks ago, I signed up two weeks before we even knew we had their ads. The work is phenomenal. I was a, as you know, a journalism guy when college, the sports journalism, it's fantastic. I tell everybody read the story about Lyle line. You remember Lyle little. I'm biz right? They just released the didn't. They just come out the other day. It was a roller coaster ride. Lyle align won a couple of the ninety three Canadians, he played for Columbus, beloved teammate. Everybody loved him. Toughest deals said, never go to lunch with Lilo to line because it turned into dinner. That's how many beers Storrow drinking the full case of beer. Honestly, guy was the ultimate throwback in everybody loves the guy. Anybody who played them said he'd give you the shirt off his back ten times while he, he had a real bad medical issue slipped into a coma. He had to get a hot kid. Bny in lung transplant, all transplant. All at one twenty four hour surgery. It had never been done history before. Correct. That was the worst on the depth of the reporting and this and this story. It was incredible. It was I was emotional couple times reading because you know, like he came to light almost Diana couple times. So should the Bill of the bring the point further. There's so much great writing here. If it's not the usual typical game stories are like the puff pieces used to read in the paper divan they've stores there's a lot of, you know, look looking up facts and things like that..
