"D. The baseball finally starting to fly for the Milwaukee Brewers, five dingers on Tuesday night, albeit in a 10 to 7 loss to the Detroit Tigers. The Brewers win streak snapped at five games. They do have the day off today before starting a four game weekend serious with the Diamondbacks said and FAM field tomorrow night. Now the pitch strike three looking on this one is over. Tigers game is split in the series Final 10 7 deep fried Weeks worth of production there for your Milwaukee Brewers. Offensively Bruise 3 60, sponsored by century foods and injuries. Solar and electric. Joining us live as he does every Wednesday morning on Brewer's 3 60 Brewers radio network play by play manager Flavoring Good morning, sir. Hey, Good morning, everybody. So much for this baseball being dead and goofy and no good. It sure was flying last night. Yes, sure was nice to see the Brewers Pop five home runs and and you hate to waste seven runs in the ballgame when when the pitching just got you out to a tough start. Six runs in the second inning for Detroit, and the Brewers just couldn't catch up. But it was. It was a fun ball game and balls flying yesterday. That's for sure. So Jeff Colton walling Tyrone Taylor, the positives but one of the negatives and I hate to bring us down, But it's a big story line for the Brewers is testing here. He just cannot seem to get it going. At the Big League level. What do you think the plan is for him going forward what Liberty's gonna do? It's a great question. I'm not sure. But it's It's tough. It's tough to watch at times is casting me. Everybody knows what he could do from the 2019 season where he's He's got one of the great rookie years and you think that he's on this great path and then last year Things went a little sideways and you could blame the pandemic. You could blame the 60 game season, just not getting himself going. But this year, it's kind of the same deal. I feel like he just needs to have a couple of balls fall and then he gets his his mentality back in there, But at this point is Craig Counsell set on the postgame show yesterday. You gotta have some production from the position. You've got to have some production from that spot in the order. And if the Brewers aren't getting that from test and here, they're gonna have to make a change. They're gonna have to see what they can do to try and get him right are their options that immediately leapt to mind. Well, I mean, Daniel Vogel back. He's in house. You can that you might give him a little bit more time over first base, and I think he might with with right handers on the Mount to there's a kid names that green, who's tearing the cover off the ball, and Triple Eight have to make a roster move to do that. Get him up because he's on a minor league contract. But he's really hitting the ball well down in the minor leagues. You just gotta try and find us as good or bad as possible right now and save for a couple of really good sacrifice bonds from from test and here here recently, there hasn't been a lot of Jeff. Bigger and essential news yesterday outside of just Milwaukee. The Cardinals placing there is Jack Flare Young, the 10 Day Island. It sounds like he's got a pretty serious oblique injury. How big might that be? For the race atop the NL Central's we get into the dog days of summer here. Yeah, I was reading that, too. And it's It's bad news for for ST Louis Hispanics for baseball, too, because it's fun to watch Jack clarity pitch and and the Brewers are going to see the Cardinals for awhile. Now. That's when Jack Fuller and he might be coming back in August, but the same time it zah bomber and the Cardinals. We're gonna have to scramble the figure things out of the rotation rotation was thin as itwas, um with some injury problems. But it it bodes well for the Brewers. If they can take advantage of it and play good baseball here for the next month or so, and like they have been over the last two weeks, it's gonna really tighten things up in the central Division for the summer. "Let's go up One more phone call before we take a break. We've got time in Chicago a time you're on WTMJ. Thank you for taking my call. I was just wondering how you fellows feel. You think William Thomas was worth getting rid of J P fire rising because fire rights and it's really Turn it up. You know he's got 22 saves in a couple of days. Yeah, I like the trade. But I don't like that The bullpen depth was, uh, true. Ah, good trade. Each team gains a little something, and each team loses a little something and you can evaluate this trade and we can sit here and say that the bullpen depth for the Brewers is not as good as it was. Before that the two clipped a clear statement. That doesn't mean it's a bad trade. I think you can look and see what will the Addams has done? Thomas is really hitting well with the Brewers. He's providing solid defense. He's creating more depth on the roster. Now you're getting more production out of third base because you're able to play Louise serious over there. I think the Brewers are still going to be able to go out and add to the bullpen. That's generally something they have a lot of success doing. They go get veteran guys are on final year of deals or in one year deals. And you get some high leverage, guys, and you bring those guys in during the course of the year In the future years we're gonna watch JP fire ice and we're gonna watch Drew Rasmussen, and we could say you know what these guys could have been something for the brewers. So from a long term perspective, you'll miss seeing those guys. I think especially Rasmus and what he what he was on projected to Diogo but argue for right now, I think the brewers are better. With the Domus and what he has been able to do their shortstop. Well, I think what the Bruce needed they needed. This needed some stability in the in the infield, especially like we've talked so many times. You gonna You gotta play defense in the pitching and defense is so important and having him in that infield at shortstop. He's that captain in the infield, along with Colton Wong and your makes you so much better up the middle. And that is going to help you the long run and, you know, I think you brought it up when the trade was made. The first thing that you questioned Matt was what is it going to do when you get rid of J P. Andrew? What is they're going to do to the bullpen? Because they were really a big part of this pulpit. And how were they gonna what was gonna happen? And I agree with that? I think that is a big question. And you're seeing Craig Counsell right now trying to figure out what Richards and suitor And fast Burger. I think box burgers, one of the key guys out there because he's been a closer in the big leagues, But you can't argue what Thomas has done for the Brewers. He's been fantastic. He's been a leader. He's brought energy. And when you look at a ball club, dad that you want that. That's where you're gonna play. You're gonna have pitching and you the good pitch you have. You need defense. That is so important. So I do agree with the trade. I do like to trade with the defensive side of it and what Thomas has done offensively, but but also I agree with you in that situation that That's what the bullpen little bit and now Craig Craig is trying. Craig along with Chris Book, and and David Stern's A mat on trying to figure out how are they gonna develop that bullpen, and I would they make a move? I think they're gonna make a move any time they could help the book Ball Club and bullpen will be one area they'll be looking 85561616 20 Yankee that mortgage talking tax line. You can tweet in his well at Matt, Paulie on air. We'll get back to some comments coming up later on the program. We have time. But up next we'll hear the postgame comments. Manager Craig.

"Spoke for 35 minutes earlier today, 35 whole minutes with doing his normal winter meetings talk, but It wasn't done. Normally, It was done on zoom because everything is being done virtually I want to get into a lot that he had to say today and I want to start with what we were talking about earlier, so I would bet I would bet the vast majority of people who are listening to this program right now would agree with the general idea that the aesthetics of the game of baseball right now are not great. Not great to minister and it's kind of based on strikeouts right? Like we could talk about putting bunts down or trying to trying to move runners over and sacrifice scene and that sort of thing, but the end of the day. The ball is not being put in play enough. It's strikeouts or his home runs, and there's not. There's not a lot of even between So counsel was asked today about the strike out and what can be done and what rule changes could be made, And he actually had multiple questions about this. Want to play this for you, though, because this kind of This Woz the most all encompassing answer. He had about the aesthetics of baseball and strikeouts, hurting the game and why it's happening and what can be done moving forward. It's a case of the good pitching advances and pitching and advances and the use of technology and pitching has really pushed pitching. Um, you know, improvement faster than hitting improvement hitters air still improving. There is not at the rate that pictures are improving. Um, so it's just It's created this little on imbalance right now, um, and, uh and and we're and we're doing a really nice job with pitching. I think the industry has been really aggressive using tech with pitching to improve it. Um As far as who's responsible for it. We're all respond. We're all responsible toe, you know, Help, maybe balance it out. And I think what I'm trying to see if we're decided that Like we want more action, which I think there's a pretty good consensus starting to grow for that, Then I think you know there's gonna be each different parties. They're gonna present different solutions, and I think that's probably more challenging from from the executives to the manager's toe ownerships there. We're all going to present some kind of different version of the solution. And that's probably the hardest part kind of, I think, agreeing on the solutions, then Maybe the cause of the problem or look for the problem. Yeah, And that's that's complicated. That's really complicated. Because so somebody mentioned banning the shift. The idea in banning the shift is You know long if there are hitters that they're hitting, profile says they are going to hit the ball between first base in second base 80% of the time and I'm just throwing numbers out. S so you go put three guys over on that side of second base than you limit the action. Um, is that so? And Craig Counsell's asked about banning the shift. Is that something you'd be okay with that? He didn't seem to have much of a problem with it. But he went on to say that that would be a very small thing to do. And he doesn't actually think that that would have a huge impact on the game, and probably there needs to be multiple changes being made to create. More action. I think that does create a little bit more action, and people always say when we talk about the ships, you know when you got when you got the short stop playing halfway between or you know, two steps towards second, and there's no third basement. Even on that side of the field. People always said I hear it all the time. Why don't you just put the bunt down? Why don't you just put the bunt down the third base line and take your base? It? And If you've got a singles hitter at the plate, Yeah, that's a great idea. But you're not getting shifted like that. If you're if you're single center, the guys who get shifted in that way or generally power hitters, and I don't want to see my power hitter Very often. This isn't a 100% of the time sort of deal. But I don't. I don't want to see a power hitter, putting bunch down the third base line to take a base it when when that when that guy has the ability to put it over the wall when that guy has the ability to put it in the gap, and it doubles Because his baseball has evolved. We're not seeing rallies. There was a there was a game this year and I don't remember the exact details, but I do remember saying that, Craig Counsell said after the game. That was interesting to me. There was there was a classic rally. It was 567 runs an unending a ton of your hit after hit after hit 678 hits, however many it Woz and it was. It was a great any and it was a fun inning. It was it was moving the line. It was hit after hit after hit. That's from an aesthetic standpoint, that is very aesthetically pleasing baseball. And quick counts was asked about that inning after the game, and he basically said, You know what you get, like one or two of those a year. He's right. You get one or two of those a year. So you you don't you don't want to see your power hitters. Hunting down the third base line against the shift to, um, T just get on base because Maura often than not, that's not going to result in run scoring. Batting average is not as important as how many runs your team scores. You win baseball games by scoring runs and preventing runs and a lot of times the base. It doesn't result in a run scoring Sometimes it does. I'm not. I'm not trying to say basis or bad. Don't don't take that from me. But sometimes base hits do not help accomplish the goal. And I hear people say sometimes. Well, if you're that guy from if you're the power hadn't slugger you go show bunt. What? Your first time they're not going to shift against you later on. Yeah, they are. No, don't take that base it all day long Now I again I don't know how you fix this problem. Okay, So you ban the shift You require. Teams have to fielders on the first base side of second and two fielders on the third base side of second, Okay? So there's gonna be a few more hits to get through. That's fine. It doesn't fix the strikeout issue. And the strikeout issues the issue because front and people hate one about to say they hate it. I've said it before. Every time I say it, I hear from people. Strikeouts are not as bad as they once were Viewed to be not saying strikeouts a good Certainly the Brewers have been a team over the last couple years that have struck out way too often. And strike out too. You know, there are there are situations in games where you really can't afford a strikeout and seems like the Brewers all too often strike out in those situations. Not all.

Steve's graffiti producer Jordan Gazza Rosky. Well, I don't know. I think now now Christmas can come now. It's all you know what it's all it's all good from here on out so I mentioned last night. Um, an opportunity and I had it earlier today. Uh, Talk to Clark Howard. You hear him? Weeknights? Nine. The midnight did you know That Wtmj was one of the original five, recalling the original five when Clark in 1998. Took his now took his radio show National. It's called Syndication and the business. Milwaukee and Wtmj was one of the original five stations that broadcast his show nationally. So since 1998 in some way, shape or form at some time of the day or night, he's been a part of the station and At the end of the month, just a few weeks at the end of the year. Obviously he's going to be retiring from his daily radio duties and talked to him earlier today. Let me just say this. I met him once briefly when he was in town, doing one of our live events a few years back. But He is as kind he is as Genuine. He is as authentic off the air as he is on the air. And whenever Whenever you come across that trait in this business, especially value it value it because there is a lot of phony. There is a lot of Hey, I'm on the air now and then you meet the person you know, in real life and you go. You know what Not not all that charismatic, a person and really mind. I don't really care being around people. Clark. Howard is the same person off the air as he is on the air, and I'll say this. Taping it for a conversation. It'll debut a week from Sunday. The 20th He and I spoke for nearly an hour and a half an hour and a half. It was I'm so I'm looking forward to going through the audio and we're putting the show together, obviously will be bringing pieces of the audio on our show Next weeks. You're gonna be hearing a lot of it, but I just I wanted to spend a moment at least to just let you know. How well it went. Because some of you submitted some questions as well. I mean, looking at some of the notes I brought here We talked about everything. He has a fascinating back story. His his childhood was It was not easy for him. He said. He did not speak until he was four years old. And he went through a lot in grade school Junior High high school and it wasn't he said to me kind of hit college that he He hit his stride, so to speak. He overcame a lot. We talk about the radio show itself. We talked about the year that has been Cove it, he revealed, you know just how much pressure he feels he has on his shoulders on a day in day out basis. When you're syndicated on now, about a little over 256 stations carry his show. Nationwide. It was a really remarkable conversation, and we covered a ton. He's a big football fan. We talked for, like eight minutes about the NFL. I asked him, I said, Do you watch any television? Do you binge Watch Netflix. Do you simply watch network television? He goes, I'll tell you what. The only thing I watch is the NFL once. Football season starts in September, I'll watch the NFL. He's as big an NFL fan as you'll find. He's got a big man cave in the basement. All that stuff. He's a big Atlanta falcons, Stan because he lives down there. I don't know if you knew that. He says after the Super Bowl, I couldn't tell you what's on television. So from September till you know, January early February, you'll watch football and that's about it. Um, what else did we talk about here? Oh, We discussed. You know, Um, I asked him about the The student loan debt crisis in America if President elect Joe Biden called him and said Clark, how do we? How do we combat the problem of so much debt? Student loan debt? In America. Um, he answered that we went. We went deep on some issues we did. What? What is motivated him this long to be so helpful. We talked about how he connects with an audience, right? I mean, the ability to do that on a national scale is not easy. And yet day in and day out, he has We have some fun. Here's here's a little bit of a tease as well, Um, I asked him what his own credit score is, and he looked it up. Like in real time, he said. Well, from to give it to you, I might as well give you the current number here and as we're talking is taking your typing in the background. He gave me his current credit score. Clark Howard. It was just a real a real pleasure. It was one of the great pleasures that I've had in radio talk to Clark Howard for like I say, like for an hour and a half, just to give you some idea. I didn't even start technically, start the interview, quote unquote until eight minutes in. We were just kind of shooting the breeze and talking about things related to him and his show and ending it. It wasn't until eight minutes in that I said, OK, I don't wanna take up more of your time. Let's just let's get it rolling. So cordial so kind and you can tell how much he enjoys. Talking to people doing radio connecting with people, but he also will describe and you'll hear it in pieces next week. Why he is hanging it up after Well since 98 Nationally, but he's been in radio since the late eighties. His back story is fascinating in that he started his own What travel agency locally, a travel agency. And suddenly he was given like an hour of radio in an Atlanta radio station, and it just grew. From there. He sold his travel agency. He was a multi millionaire by the age of 30 or 31. So basically his entire radio career has been and you know has has been post millionaire status, which is Pretty remarkable when you think about itself. As excited as I was to have the conversation. I just wanted to tell all you guys that it was. It lived up to the billing and then some, and I'm really excited about bringing you pieces of that conversation next week. Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 20th. Not this Sunday, a week from Sunday, the 20th will do it at 11 A.m. wtmj conversations. My chat with Clark Howard, I don't know how much of I gotta condense. I got to take all that all that audio and fit it in somehow, But we will and you are going to like what you hear from a very candid and cordial Clark Howard, We're broadcasting live in grafted capitals, kids, two kids Christmas wonderland. A lot of kids here tonight. Let us sunroof. Sorry. Guess would be moon roofs open because the weather is cooperating. And people having fun here as well. That saying home every three words that some tough love Jamie, Here's what I'll say. I'm a big fan of Craig Counsell. You know, not everyone is a great speaker Craig Counsell, the part that matters to me when he's giving a briefing, or Ah has a press conference at the game. What he's saying is brilliance. What he understands about baseball is brilliant. Yeah, His delivery could be better. Who's couldn't he might could be better. Craig Counsell is is one of the best manager in baseball, if not the best. He makes. His teammates, his players as good as they can be with his decisions. That's the only thing I really care about the Craig Counsell. The live version of stuff, too, is difficulty. If you hear him with us on Bruce, 3 60 in the morning, it's tough. We all say, arm, I say an occasion. I don't try not to. It's the brain working, right? And I know this about Craig Counsell guys smarter than hell. "I'm Scott Waris. So we've spent some time in the broadcast booth this hour. With broadcaster Bob Costas. Now let's go down to the field. Let's go into the dugout, our very own. Greg Magic caught up on opening day with the Brewers skipper. Craig Counsell. Let's take it a little while. Does it feel like opening day? You know, I know it's going to be a fan list Wrigley Field. It's going to feel a lot different, But does it feel like the start of the season? Yeah, it does. I mean, there's things that we all know are different. And so it does feel different for sure. But AH, there's a baseball game and count in the standings were in Wrigley Field playing against the Cubs. So you know it. It feels like it's an important day. Um, and we're doing something that's never been done. And so it is different. And I think that gives you butterflies Justin itself, right? Yeah. No, I for me. It does. Because now it counts. So the exhibition game I'm sure was. Ah, Nice way to ramp up the blue versus gold. Siri's, which was ah genius idea. An opportunity to have some steaks in a baseball game. Did you get everything out of those games that you had hoped? Yeah. I mean, I think we did it. It's always you always want, Maura. You know you want guys tohave toe work harder. Almost really in the game is what you want is that just situations and Challenging, you know, tire really? Fatigue was a part of that is like we were going to play 767 games and eight days. Um, get their legs underneath. Um, so I think from a pitching standpoint, I was I was really happy with what we got accomplished. I think we just as we get into this, we're just gonna have to position players know that Azad kind of dialled gets turned up today. Mom that we just got to be careful and see what what comes off, you know, after two days and nine innings are three days of nine innings House some guy's dating days and day Game night game night game today in a day game tomorrow, how that makes these guys feel you know, you talkto prior to this point about pictures going through not only the course of You know, live BP and threw out the blue versus gold. Siri's but their ability to recover a zey ramp up their their overall pitch count. Well, it seemed to me and I guess I'm using Brandon Water from Corbin Burns as examples here, but it seems like they were able to respond pretty well. Certainly the velocity was there for both guys, and and the pitch count was elevated. Is that what you expected? Or, you know all these guys in somewhat of a different spot, given what they were able to do during the time where you weren't together, they're in different spots. Ah, In Brandon's case, um and Corbin's places they really were able to keep going at a pretty high level, and they were able to get Get themselves Where were we have been sitting at? You know, 75 or 80 pitches for those guys for especially Woody for about two or three starts now, So he's in a really good place, and I feel like we really a really good foundation. It's O. It's okay that they're all in a little bit different spots, But I'm I'm happy with all where all of our you know, guys there. Lincoln daughter at I think we're going to be in a really good position when When Brandon Eric lowered, you know, come back to us, which is going to be shortly that that will have a TTE some 0.7 guys that are really equipped pitch longer in games and do that for us on a daily basis. I think it's going really gonna help us. Use our weapons in the bullpen in a good way, You know, on the other side of it, I know. Christian Yelich struggled throughout the Blue versus gold. Siri's You talked about baseball being a hard game and guys who make it look easy. Sometimes it's a reality check that the game is difficult. What do you make of his struggles? I'm sure he's not a guy. You really worry about. What do you take away from from his time before arriving in Chicago. I think which way you want every player never to struggle, But it's just it's the game. It's hard. It's not easy. It's sometimes it's just easier to identify in baseball. Sometimes it's hard to know one When the honest isn't playing well, necessarily, You know, it's it's because there's always gonna have points going in. He's always going to get some rebounds. But we see it in baseball's so obviously kind of and you know for Christian He didn't have a great camp. He's been battling himself a little bit and struggling to find the feel the best thing. I can tell you that none of those games counted and so it doesn't really matter until we start today that that What what happened previously, and I think he'll get it going. I think the just the competition changes things for him, and it's just as well as a guy with struggles. We know he's equipped to do enormous things and head and that he will. I think that the change in kind of venue in competition ramping up is perfect recipe for him. So 60 games, you'll see a lot of your division opponents. You'll see a American league central opponents as well. I noticed right on the schedule that you'll play more games and Wrigley against the Cubs, and you will play in Milwaukee against the Cubs. Does that really even matter? Does home versus away matter Aside of where you'll be sleeping the night before a game? By, you know, the only thing that really is that the team gets here. You get a last at bat, That's that's the big thing. I think of things that you know it's different that there's the crowd is not in it. I just think the think umpires they're going to be. It's going to be different for umpires this year. Umpires are humans. There has to be some, you know, effect on them when they're open and stadiums. Where they're getting booed. When they make calls. I go against the home team, so I would my guess is that it would neutralize home field advantage a little bit. Um,.

Nationals vs. Brewers: Nats down Brew Crew in NL Wild Card Game thanks to late rally and blunder

"De it is one and done this year for the Milwaukee Brewers in the post season they drop the NL wild card game to the nationals by a final score of four to three last night the burners did take a three one lead into the bottom of the eighth inning Josh hater proceeded to load the bases in part due to his lack of commands the ending though may have been extended by a blown call by the umpiring crew Washington's Michael Taylor was awarded a base after being hit by a pitch the pitch though pretty clearly looked like it hit the knob of his back first here's a you're describing what he saw on the play I definitely got the bad but also got his hand so you know the ruling on the fair was hit by a pitch in this this is probably wasn't enough to return it after a prolonged discussion the umpiring crew stuck with the hit by pitch ruling one Soto drove in the game when he runs for batters later on so does go ahead single Bruce right fielder Trent Gresham let the ball get past him in the outfield that ultimately allowed the winning run to score Grisham knows this one's gonna hurt for a while it's been heard and expected her and when I really kinda deportation going off season well the Los obviously stings burrs manager Craig Counsell provided some perspective after the game this is a game you think about for awhile and of course right gonna think about this game because these opportunities are hard to come by it's it's hard to put yourself in the playoffs and get yourself calls to win in a row all while Kerr game so it's gonna staying as it should as we expect but I still get laughs with just how we accomplished what we did

Adrian was nice yeah it was it was greats very efficient threw the ball really well and hopefully set up to help us coming up here. well once they got to the Saint Louis and you start because it was was there anything be accomplished in the rest of the same other than just giving it. the road to Washington I mean not that not now don't think anything that will affect Tuesday. that's manager Craig Counsell speaking with the media just a little while ago and again the brewers lose today and it was once the cardinals were clearly going to win that game against the cubs it was by getting.

"Craig Counsell had a similar amount to spend Gamelin Grisham are obviously going to take a more prominent role and you know we got Lorenzo feeling better which is a good thing because I grinds feeling better as well so we're gonna need no we got four guys knows and Tyrone Taylor's the next becomes the fifth outfielder so we got guys and but the two left handers fishermen gamblers definitely I think if they were all comes in a weird position for the brewers surging they've won a ton of games in a row that really climb back into this playoff race after looked like all was lost this lady is about you know last week so the worst timing for await lettering on with us a bit ago and he said simply you don't replace an MVP but you know it's is that next man up mentality yeah this is this is this is a lot of death Lois you in this and have to be that but this I mean this is a tough one we have it with a player of of M. V. P. stature and he was close this year if if that's you know going to repeats look at his numbers forty four home runs ninety seven RB I just started a hundred which is always the kind that mark thirty stolen bases average three twenty nine I think that's third best in the league I mean this is like this is a player who was kind of the heart and soul of this team offensively and you know what it's all hands on deck young players have to step up it's going to be a challenge you can't just drop a guy out of the lineup and I have that would be a big a big guy mark and and what you can do in. future but let's talk about the good news five in a row one game out of that wild card second wild card spot now battling like crazy to have a a favorable schedule we have one answer is yes the cardinals and then I think all the other series in eighteen games left are against teams that are less of that are under five hundred so not impossible and and I saw some of my sports friends on social me this morning what a story that would be you lose Christian theology and you still make the playoffs with a scrappy team bunch of young guys out of call ups. the list is long of players that have been injured this year my goodness yeah and the talent on the field is what's going to alternately matter with who fills in for you Alex but if this is going to go a long way in showing us I think it's fans what the chemistry of like in that locker room because you mentioned five in a row if they lose three games in a row and all looks lost once again does this team still fight do not fight I think that will come down to how much they like each other in a locked room trust each other and I I think they can do it and I think they have enough players and and the I guess then kriging thing is they've got a manager Craig Counsell who gets it who understands getting the most out of his players this is gonna be a big challenge for him as the whole season has been sort of that went against the cardinals bye for opening day and and he's done a great job every day since this is going to be one of those moments where he's gonna have to step up young players and I hope that that I I know this Christian Yelich he's not going anywhere he's gonna be injured not playing but he's gonna be around this team offering the wisdom that an MVP does as as part of a great franchise and yeah some bad news on a on a day that some a lot of us celebrated the fifth win in a row so we're we'll see what happens with this team but there's a lot of opportunity here I feel bad for Christiane he's not going anywhere either he's twenty seven years old with two incredible seasons back to back he's still going to be around he'll they'll they'll be some recovery time hopefully it's not bad enough to keep him on next year that's the big concern I think for the brewers and is promising to I'm sorry it's promising to to know that it's a bone injury and not like a ligament injury those are the ones that are kind of muscle injury so I mean if anybody can do he can't he's please prove that over and over again and what an incredible season he's had cut short by injury but you know the season goes on the brewers are in it's one game out at second wild card spot all right after the break. remembering nine eleven. forty four on this Wednesday. remembering nine eleven eighteen years ago I can remember hearing all the coverage.

I think Travis Shaw still has it in him I think he can still be a thirty home run guy I don't think he has it on this year I hope I'm wrong I really want to see him get going and contribute to this team and find it before all is said and done but I I have very little confidence in him coming up with hits hits the ball hard tonight that was good to see but any balls hard doesn't do anything for you guys to the one fifty four and I think Doug hit it right on the head I mean this team's healthy if Castamere is on active Mike Moustakas as active Shaw isn't much more than a pensioner a defense replacement thing things like that that that's just where it's at right now I think the moment one of those two guys gets back it is in the line up every day we're going to see a whole lot less of Travis all right now Shaw's a plane because he's earned flame time so much shots plane because there's not really much better option and that's that's unfortunately will route right now means a one fifty four header it's not like that these all the sun hitting he's not so I would I I don't think there's gonna be a whole lot from for all said and done I will go through I like to do that next brewers extra innings N. I think I know you say about that but just just you know I I thought that I was you know he's just course of also I really like just got on and and I think that's that's like a seventeen the kids a competitor that's you know you make that decision Hey I'm just gonna compete and I I think I think we did that tonight got a little just got a minute going a little bit he's places that even pay so there's a fine line with that you know that in order going too fast too slow and he found the right mix tonight. yeah what's right. he started dating off. the two of you know the first thing that struck out it's it's it's a five runs with two outs so that's not so there's a. I'll try to make it that but there's a lot also with the walk is good and double and then the ASCAP that often five straight guys doing good things just over the line good at that. the really nice job in that direction nice job of from from the get go and I really. you guys are all hot. he's doing a good job is that online to play and win tonight on my legs and I won. what goes a long game and to to keep your focus and concentrate put up zeroes in the pension side always who's gonna make love exhausted tonight for sure but you know we need a minute. that's manager Craig Counsell speaking with the media just a few minutes ago let's grab a quick phone call before we take a break you get to the highlights Doug is in beta Baraboo Doug I just got a quick.
