"Welcome to latest edition of ESPN FC. I'm Dan Thomas joined by Craig Burley, ally Moreno, and we also welcome in to very happy French man Julianne Laurent joins us and straight from the farm. Frank the buff is here as well. Before we let them gloat, let's start things off, shall we? Great, by reflecting it on there too, Neil victory over Morocco. Good game, wasn't it? It was entertaining. Yeah, I think we saw two sides of Morocco, albeit because the gifted goal. So we saw that the counter attack and the attack very well, and I think we saw some frailties about the French at the bike, albeit the probability changes for the final. And illnesses. So yeah, I mean, I think that left side for France, the right side for Morocco, so humbling on Messi will look up when Kelly and bob is not talking back, but yeah, really good game. But I think ultimately the French were just the stronger. Once Hernandez opened the scoring, you thought they should go either one of two ways basically. The fronts go on and dominate, or it was going to be the kind of kick up the backside of the Morocco needed to then actually go for it. And you think that there's a period in the second half where France are really holding on. So yes, we were talking about the approach that they did the shams should take in this game and I was all for Friends given the Baltimore Morocco and proved that they could break down France. I wasn't anticipating getting pushed back as far as friends was in the second half to where even when they won the ball, they were not finding an outlet. Even when they won the ball and there was an opportunity to find them better fine and bad, they would have had to have gone 80 yards in order to become dangerous, which by the way did do in one particular play. I don't know how that's not a follow

"Craig Burley and Stevie Nick and I'll tell you a busy old day in the Premier League to reflect on here at the how things stand. After Sunday's results, which of course saw Liverpool beat spurs by two goals to one, Aston Villa very impressive in their three one win over at Manchester United, but will kick things off at Stanford bridge arsenal being in Chelsea by one goal to nil, as you welcome Frank the button to the show. Steven Craig, of course, with us as well. Craig, if there was anything that epitomized the gulf between these two teams throughout this campaign, it was shown very evidently today, wasn't it in this 90 minutes? Absolutely. Arsenal boss does from the off. They were the only site at a great shape about them. There were slept with some of the passing from defense, the midfield, out to the white possession. At times was terrific. I mean, the one little criticism of arsenal was the final thought, right? And that could have cost him in the end. But clearly the oak totally outplayed out past this Chelsea say, there's a Chelsea team that generally had pretty good in possession, but could get any possession of the ball. A couple of challenges that came to win the first half was one was from amended kick to the white position along diagonal ball and they got in behind. Another one was a ball in behind the thing for Harvey's. Against the run and play, apart for that, it was nothing to talk about from a Chelsea perspective. From our perspective, they're really good. I got to see the thing I like about arsenal above all everyone else is they're not looking to play a 100,000 policies before they get up the other end of the field. And you saw that today, one of the moves, I think, was four parts here. And it ended up with a shot. That's, to me, that's proper football. Not spending half the game, just knocking the ball, sideways, a bike was just possessing the ball for possession. They don't possess it for any other reason than they want to go forward. If it's not on the dawn, but if it is, then they go

"Does it twice. He pulls them twice. So how can you, how can you possibly an old and all good faith? Complain that this is not a penalty kick. Seriously. I get the, I get the red card, but it spoils the gear and blah blah blah, but you know what? It ended a day. It didn't go for the ball. That's the rules so off you go. I don't stand on the field for 5 minutes arguing as if the refs going to change it. And he should know better. You know, defender, he became a mistake, you get caught, you might handle the guy, it's a penalty kick, and it's not even close, and I'm with Craig. How anybody can start arguing about this is just beyond me. And the gauges are I mean, what is he talking? I don't know if he's talking more nonsense. Mason Mount of cesare. Because mason's obviously a meat and tamaris. And he's trying to be nice. And he ends up seeing he ends up twisting them around. And then he was trying to get his mother on the other hand. I don't know if it was a panel, but I was definitely past him. And he followed me. But the two of them are talking absolutely garbage. I don't mean why would. I don't even want you to such a kerfuffle of it. It's still straightforward, it's scary. Absolutely. Many of our Italian viewers. Oh, good. Why? I thought that was another. Do you think for one second if that had been the only Italian views? I'm not saying I might say I don't agree with Craig on what he said though, ale. Where do you should know better than anybody? I would just say my message to Mason Mount would be so that we can resolve this situation is mason. Let me tell you something. Don't fight through the challenge. Go down. Go down and there is no problem. There is no discussion. You get no incentive. No incentive whatsoever to try to fight through this challenges. So we're clear all the mess up. If you just go down and everybody says, see, he went down so there you go. It's a penalty in a red car. See you guys later. Nothing to see here. This is amazing. That's it. I'm blaming him for everything. Do you think he may have gone down and had it not been as mate on his shoulder? Are you not thinking about it? Are you thinking of it trying to get the ball in the back of the bleeding there isn't he? And he almost dead, he almost dead, but he was off balance because he had, it was impeded a couple of times. So. Again, I'll go back to my original point that not agreeing with the wenge. Who is a guy on warmer? When we upset raw my couple years ago, it was, you wanted. Come on, he was crying. He was another one. Oh, I'm coming on the shore. I'm coming on to tell everyone. Never saw him. The boss went to him. You're come on, you come on the short come from bob. Never came on. Never ever seen. Yeah, he's not there anymore. That's even what he's from, bob. So that's even what he did. From Craig Burley. All right, let's get some of the reaction to Juventus last two, mukabi Haifa that happened on Tuesday. It was a game that they did come into, having to win it, didn't get the result that they needed,

I just think this is all kinds of all kinds of tricks that I'm not judging. I'm not judging. And I appreciate Vegas trying to help. That's a documentary. Everybody wants. If the wife wants a better realizing as well, she wants a better realism. He's sat there the husband, obviously. With the Scotland top on, she should get, I'm not advocating this, but get a big saucepan. I'm in the mouth. Knock his teeth out, right? Knock on his teeth out. And then it'll be almost like realize a player. I mean, I'm not advocating it in your husband. I'm just saying all right, well, not too hard. Just not coming off on the teeth to go. All right. No blood. We're not going to get marriage advice. I'll think about that one. Let's move on, shall we? Who are your top four for setting up this season? Don't give us a lecture. Don't come to it. Don't give us a lecture. Just say them. Now obviously you did this in the show, but for those who weren't there, you've got to give us a much smaller

"Think there will be plenty of opportunities for him and a team that is heavily heavily attacked minded, given the player personnel that is now available to shabby. I'm going to say Lewandowski scores more goals, Real Madrid. When La Liga. Craig? Well, Lewandowski Benzema, who's getting more goals. $11. What's in that frame behind you, Craig, it's a joy. But there's writing in a frame behind you over your right shoulder. And it looks like it might say, I don't know, what does it say? I don't know. Look at it. Here we go. There we go. There we go. Let's have a look. Just be you. Inspirational words with Craig Burley. Yes. That's just a little room upstairs in the day to be identified that all. I've always a surprise show. "Talking point of this discussion. And it's as if the first division when it became the Premier League and Sky Sports get involved in all this, the bowl become a different shape, the page become a different size. I just think for this topic, that's where it goes. But I'm not talking about this topic. I'm talking about you want to go to a father, you're not going down this route as the producer. Because of somebody else jumps off a clef, would you go out, jump off it as well. I mean, football was football at top level. Top level before the Premier League announced itself as the Premier League. Yes. To suggest and I'm not doing for other people to suggest go from people and not in this same category before that is just nonsense. Do you remember can you accept the fact that neither made a comment about you giving a stupid question and Craig saying that you made a stupid comment and you should love me because yet and you don't criticize you for your way, to your comeback. No, that's fair enough. Feel free to criticize something along summer Frank. That's just for this segment. Just look at that Premier League players. Share a book. Yeah, no. So my top 5 would have been in 5, I would have put a Harry Kane, then at four I put serie Henri at the end. I put Rooney at two and then shear at one. Because at the end of the day, you know the score, that's sort of goals. And for most of those guys, they've got some of her sisters as well. And interestingly, the reason I put K to 5 is because he's the only one who hasn't got Premier League title. Just want to say something. She wrote, I'm sorry, surprise. She wrote what the captain of England. He was allowed to do whatever he wanted to do in the Premier League game, you know, referee, you don't want to do it. He broke my nose twice. I swim. There we are. I saw him. I saw him. I watched him a lot, and I was very happy to see him in the Champions League Final, but you don't have time to talk to him. He wasn't looked like Tony Adams to do whatever he wanted, kick people, you know, and keep on scoring. He was a fantastic top scorer, but I barely saw him in the Champions League, so I can not compare with the others on top for this kill internationally. He did an English team, but with his own club, I didn't see him. I agree with you, Shira was a great top scarer, but you have to take the old picture to compare the players. The players that I put on top of him are players where we're involved in the Champa state as well as well. He might have been a Wayne Rooney Frank. Yeah, we're in it. I'm sorry, I couldn't put it. I only only 5 seats, but it is a fantastic place. I could have put him. Because I knew you would be upset if I didn't put it. But I wanted to put one instead, really. Listen. We hear you're going to your game tonight in Los Angeles, save your child. Save your child for the people sitting next to you again. I like these top 5 lists. They're good aren't they great? "I'm covering <Speech_Male> Craig Burley, you can say, <Speech_Male> oh, look, Craig Burley, <Speech_Music_Male> who makes 250 <Speech_Music_Male> grand a week <Speech_Music_Male> when in fact he doesn't. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> And he plays <Speech_Male> at an average level. <Speech_Male> I might be <Speech_Male> like, oh, Burley's <Speech_Male> not playing to his salary, <Speech_Music_Male> Burley's lazy, <Speech_Male> blah, blah, blah. You <Speech_Music_Male> can substitute Pogba <Speech_Music_Male> for Burley if you like. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> If in fact, <Speech_Music_Male> burleigh's making <Speech_Music_Male> 50 grand a <Speech_Music_Male> week, I <Speech_Music_Male> might say, well, look, he's trying <Speech_Music_Male> hard. You know, <Speech_Music_Male> I <Speech_Music_Male> so I think <Speech_Music_Male> actually it would be much better <Speech_Music_Male> off <Speech_Music_Male> all of us. <Speech_Male> But of course, <Speech_Male> if that happened, <Speech_Music_Male> I think certain <Speech_Music_Male> managers and directors of <Speech_Music_Male> football <Speech_Music_Male> would <Speech_Music_Male> face far, far <Speech_Music_Male> more scrutiny <Speech_Music_Male> if <Speech_Music_Male> the numbers were all out <Speech_Music_Male> there and official, <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> like in the NBA. <Speech_Music_Female> Is it <Speech_Music_Female> better not to know <Speech_Music_Female> Stevie because it <Speech_Music_Female> could cause some problems in <Speech_Music_Female> the dressing room? <SpeakerChange> He has <Speech_Music_Male> stories like that in MLS. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> It could, I'm certainly <Speech_Music_Male> thinking <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> I'm certainly here thinking <Speech_Music_Male> of cause <Speech_Music_Male> more problems years <Speech_Music_Male> ago than it is today. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> And the reason I'm thinking <Speech_Music_Male> that way is because, <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> you know, if somebody's getting <Speech_Music_Male> 200 grand a week <Speech_Music_Male> and you're getting a hundred grand <Speech_Music_Male> a week, <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> are you really <Speech_Music_Male> going to be that. <Music> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Angry <Speech_Music_Male> about it? <Speech_Music_Male> To <Speech_Music_Male> consider you're <Speech_Music_Male> still making many million <Speech_Music_Male> a year. <Speech_Music_Male> But as <Speech_Music_Male> before, everybody <Speech_Music_Male> was kind of on the same <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> to keep harmony. <Speech_Music_Male> And so <Speech_Male> you've got one guy <Speech_Music_Male> on so much more <Speech_Music_Male> than pretty much <Speech_Music_Male> everybody else. <Speech_Music_Male> There's more <Speech_Music_Male> chance of that. I <Speech_Music_Male> would think <SpeakerChange> of <Speech_Music_Male> causing a problem. <Speech_Music_Male> But I'm intrigued, <Speech_Music_Male> it causes problems <Speech_Music_Male> and Major League <Speech_Music_Female> Soccer. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> We had them at <Speech_Music_Female> that. That would <Speech_Music_Male> be fine. I've <Speech_Music_Female> heard that there's been some upset <Speech_Music_Male> in the <SpeakerChange> dressing. <Speech_Music_Male> No one says <Speech_Music_Male> anything, but it's but regarding <Speech_Music_Male> the <Speech_Music_Male> what do you call them <Speech_Music_Male> loose players that come in? <Speech_Music_Male> The designated. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Yeah. What was an easy <Speech_Music_Female> answer? <Speech_Music_Female> All right. Well, <Speech_Music_Female> can you confirm <Speech_Music_Female> <Advertisement> that you want to take 250,000 <Speech_Music_Female> <Advertisement> <SpeakerChange> a <Speech_Music_Male> week? <Speech_Music_Male> At the moment? <Speech_Male> No, I'm just <Speech_Male> a smidge behind that <Speech_Male> here at the moment. <Speech_Male> I'm having a home <Speech_Male> to have a world <SpeakerChange> with my boss <Speech_Music_Male> in the next couple of <Speech_Music_Female> weeks. All right, yeah, well <Speech_Music_Female> Gabby's just put it out there. <Speech_Female> It sounds like he's your agent. <Speech_Male> He's put the figure out there <Speech_Music_Male> now. 2050 <Speech_Music_Female> $1000. Yeah, <Speech_Music_Female> he's put the agent out <Speech_Music_Female> there. For <Speech_Music_Female> the agent, he's put the fee <Speech_Music_Female> out there. All right, <Speech_Music_Female> that's it.

"Thanks to a Craig Burley and Gemma saler for their contribution. What should be excited? Do you understand as well? All that stuff. Extra time. Thank you. Hey there everybody. Welcome to this edition of ESPN's extra time. Steve Nicholas Moreno. Sebastian. Hey, everybody. Don't act like you don't love it. Just the three of us. And your questions off of Twitter. Oh. First one, from Sid, not that Sid. His man city overrated a 180 minutes of football in the score, just one goal. They played four 6 zero after complaining about Atlético in the first leg. City overrated, Ali, what say you? No. Absolutely not. One of the best themes in the world. The observation is actually inaccurate. They did not play a four 6 zero. What can I tell you? You can frame it however you want to frame it, but in the first game against Atlético Madrid, they were the only team to actually try to create trying to attack trying to build something. And for those people that think it's easy to break a double stack of 5, which is essentially what a political murder we're playing. That first leg, I just have to say that this picture a LEGO. And how difficult it is to build a LEGO. And how easy it is to knock it down. It is easier to destroy than it is to build. I think for the first 90 minutes all they were trying to do was destroy at the end and not just the city. We're trying to build. And it just wasn't going to happen. They got their goal. And they did enough in the second light. You've talked a lot about it over the last month, maybe really the whole season. We didn't really talk about it on the show. Is this another one of those games where you say, ah, it's city had a 9. They wouldn't have been sweating at the end. From the first from the first leg, I think, maybe. Yeah, look, I think it's.

"You want to be aguero, didn't you? You want to be the man that's immortal left on that, which you'll never ever happen again. But for us, I'd love to say Liverpool because that was one of the most iconic shoppers did finals ever. For Craig's right, when you're when you're asked that question there and you bolt on the treble, that's it, isn't it? That's Pinnacle stuff. Winning the treble, chap is league. It's got to be united. It's got to be, it's got to be a united side, has to be. There's an anti Liverpool bias in the short notice that it was switched from mania. Who was on yesterday. Yesterday we Shaka and who else was on extra time with us. What did they say? I can't even remember what I had for dinner. What did they say? One went for aguero, Ali went for Leicester, Shaka went from Manchester United. Nobody went for Liverpool. Yeah. Greta was anti Liverpool, anti Liverpool. That's what we are. Hold on, get nickel on the phone. Definitely go Liverpool. Yeah. There's absolutely no way to get any of the others. It's definitely not good money united. Oh my God. 100%. No, not doing that. Absolutely no way. All right. Not a question for the guys. Oh, good. Well, yeah, he's actually for you. Well, it says just wondering on behalf of someone, if there's an update on the status of the ESPN gym open, still closed. So close to what I did out there. And initial door, which opened with my security bus, and the second one I had a bus, lates were out. All equipment they are not still closed. Protocol can't do anything about it. A way above our way above our pay grade, making those decisions, but clearly, yeah, it's still closed. So have you guys ever seen Craig Burley in a gym, brother are done? No. No, I've seen him in a Turkish bath, which was a sight for sore eyes. Over in in Berlin, if you remember, I think that was an interesting trip. And I can tell you, he hadn't been to the gym at that point. Oh, and that was before I had started here, and I was bashing away at this gem at work. It's a brilliant gem. And it's free as well. I believe. And I was in the zone. So yeah, I was, but I do, you know, Robert does this road machine as well, one of my things raw machine, marvelous. Yeah, well, actually in shape. I have hope suggested the Turkish bathroom. Who suggested that was that Craig or robbo's eye? No, no, no, this was part of a piece that had to be done. Don't go too deep and it's part of a piece and it was filmed as a camera crew in there. Trust me, you don't want to know. Okay. Now I've just heard that you really go all guns blazing when you're in the gym. I do. And you're in the ESPN gym. I'm gonna back Craig up here. When he was injured and we went to the same physio Craig was fit. They did some great times on the rower. He was fully fit fully motivated. He looked a $1 million at the time and fully fit. There we go. Unlike unlike no, the royal machine might not get by, I used to bust it out. I used to bet the players rehab and stuff to beat me..

"A special Club World Cup today. Yeah, so I wanted to pay a special attribute to a good friends Craig Burley with the plastic cup as he called it. I checked it out. He's not in plastic. It's really in metal, and he means something big to the club to the players to the fans or so that's good. That's good enough for them. We all know what it represents in a world of football, but if a team will win it, is happy. That's fine for everybody. Nope, nobody tells you who's in The Blacklist gets an invite. No. No. And who was at the top of The Blacklist? The naughty list. I really want to go anyway. Let's talk about the game. Yeah, it feels at least. I mean, Chelsea very professional grit start Leo then came back and played some good stuff. I would describe them obviously the league title winners from last year had lost the manager struggling this year in league on. I would describe them as a tidy team possession, they pass it well to try and play, but they're really this moment in time lightweight upfront. And I never felt that we're really going to trouble mendy. And Chelsea could have had, you know, because the game's not dead, it turned out going to France. It could have been doing remember we're getting that thunder forth that you might have said to play with the deserve, but but I think not a surprising result bearing a main this season that Leo have had. And interesting, we're looking at a little team, the interesting thing was obviously the big story and you boys talked about it yesterday, Lukaku. Yes. No surprise, really. We've all knocked it managers doors. I presume. If you're not getting a game. Okay. You dropped, you gave them the arrest, whatever it is, but how the hell do you do that? Yeah. The back of so he did not come back when he left them.

As we look ahead to the weekend in La Liga, where Real Madrid are taking on alaves, although they have been stumbling of late, they have not won in their last 5 in all competitions and that, of course, includes that loss to PSG last time out. However, Carlo Ancelotti, the manager is not shying away from the reality of the situation. Here's what he had to say in the pre match presser about the criticism being justified color and said, we did badly against PSG. The first critic is me. Our approach to the game wasn't good and I have to take responsibility. I spoke to the president afterwards and to the board, they are hurting like us. We are very honest. We played very badly. And bumped into a lady there who was fostering this little filler. He'd been he'd been and of course the wife and daughter got soccer then and with all this is a shame and so anyway, apparently he was Australian message separately. They just let them go and he was picked up by a shelter and they end up in Connecticut here, dog rescue. And so that's ladies been forced on them and she was at the dog park and I want to show you the big stuff. We decided to take that three dogs, in fact, whilst we were doing the shore, he came into the house and I had the other two, I hope it wasn't fighting. Well, some people on Twitter were asked me to call them soul skull. Yeah, but, you know, I think this one's got a chance. Has it got a name, no? I spent my left it till the daughter I think she's calling them broadly because.

Because let's let's see how the season go of your mind united and then you're not tie yourself down. You're in call or pet. While the thomas terkel or julia nagas menarini of these guys put themselves on the market. Listen they're getting snapped up by one of the elite club straight away. In fact it'd probably gonna monitor to get one of those guys and tell me who's gonna take only goodness. oh scott. it's not let united. We're going to lose them if they don't contract because event ram madrid. Don't want him by a munich. Them set the jokes. None of the other teams won't on the on the people that want them are mind united. So i don't understand why united had to go out and give them a three locked into that. No and that's that's the decision. I didn't see what the rushmore is. Because guess what nobody there. If you're talking about the real elite clubs looking for all goodness oscars manager but on the flip side. Is the nobody else out there for manchester united right now and have. They hurt themselves by giving him so. Well there are other than all. You're gonna source care whether they for example brendan rodgers at lists city and there are others. I love readily available. They are no but again. What's the rush sex. One sentence the season coming up. They could have weighed on how good abbad and gave him a contract. It wasn't going to walk out on me nathan because it won't too so i don't apart from keeping everybody sweet and everybody hop and that's what might seem to want to.

They they have played sixty seven games at home so using a huge advantage well months but it is a huge.
Hat-Trick Fires Man City to Victory
"Let's start in the premier league. Just the one match on friday but a pretty good one at that at least dramatic manchester city four three winners over newcastle actually had to come from behind twice did city and thanks to a federal authorities. Hat trick they will pick up the three points. What does it mean for. The table will not much manchester city. Already clinching the title. Thanks to manchester united defeat earlier this week. Third manchester city premier league title under pet. Why are the orla. Joining us for more craig. Burley and nato new. Oh we'll hear from them in just a little bit. But stevie i'll start with you. A seven goal thriller. Probably not what we expected from this game pretty good. You didn't expect goals. I didn't expect four three now. No i expect goals. This is a game. That really didn't mean an awful lot to either saying god. The talking about the game between the champions league final could be a chance for some day. A player themselves in i mean. Do you really think fell torres with three. Goals has pleaded these. We the jumping sleek start out late. I don't think so. I thought that was going to be goes in a unusual. I thought they were going to score. I didn't think they were going to lose three at the end of the day. The good game to watch but Really you know law the native eight changes for manchester city from the eleven that we saw in that second leg against psg in the champions league semi-final. It tells you kind of what. I was thinking about this match.
Leicester Leave Top 4 Door Open
"Start with one match. Friday in the premier league. A six goal. I won't call it a thriller. But a six goal match new newcastle beating leicester city four to to really the final score. Flattering lester. this was a four. Nothing in the eightieth minute. Callum wilson with a brace for newcastle's they pick up the three points what it means for. Leicester city will devastating to their top four. Hope for the win. They would have been eight points clear. Fifth instead to stay five point gap between leicester city and fifth place west ham promote we welcome in yang dolphin. Craig burley greg. i'll start with you. What happened to leicester to that. The played the not foster from particular lake aside to force. It was just a formality to get those three points against newcastle team. Improve season. yeah. They were without the experience. Johnny evans bob. That's really not an excuse. And you know some real shoddy defending probably the best scene of newcastle as a threat of season. Which doesn't say much for them and even before the lead sun. Maximum should golden causes. Michael had to make a great save. So so yeah. Newcastle deserve to get the four goals and quite frankly inch less than if you look at affects us that. The last three games horrendous fire on next week against jokes wembley that if they defend like that and play light la this jokes he said will take them apart so all of a sudden they one must at power steadier and mister rogers under a ba- pressure for the second season in a row and could blow it once again

Oh and mason mount craig. This was this was easy. You just looked at that. Stop and out the talk lane and you watch the game and saw sixty seven percent possession real madrid for maybe a little bit unlucky. No not all. I mean not unlucky. Lucky lucky it was only to know. I mean yeah. Lots of possession but but very positive side wayside with by the way forward sideways only injected a life when it dropped of carrying benz among the first half when he got accepted or amid a good run into the baltimore. Great rodney made monitors picked him out for a header from with mandy. But this was this was going over by chelsea. Say that are fighting for fourth known. The preeminently great. That's the crux of the here. Yes thomas was done a marvelous job and reorganising jokes. He scored and they have talent but goodness me a final of competition that. This club thrive on its cope with so much success real madrid and yet they were so meek and so ponderous in the performance the the fact that chelsea beat them by four. Maybe five goals honestly. That was the biggest surprise in the

"Dan thomas joining the cd. Today by craig burley we also welcome to the program. You can frank and native newer. Of course only one place to start today show and that's in paris. We saw that champions league semi final between manchester city. Another brilliant game. She completely dominating the first half one deservedly. Thanks to a great header from martinez manchester city completely different side though in these second up kevin lebron's and riyadh marez giving them a two one league going into the second lack in manchester next week. Craig let's start with you and just talk about the then. If half time. I told you the city. We're going to win this game. Two one it would be a big stretch pants completely. Dominant well at halftime. If you said to me we're going to play in the monitoring wasted the second half of would have been surprised. That's how big a turnaround was and credit to them for that dot was they set the and the second that we know can perform but the so much talk about for all the guys just quick summary here yeah they look to let tentative mindset in the first half wary but that was known to what. Psg dead psg. The depressed setting normally have that flustered. seti pushed back to the walls the edge of the box when psg varada was coming in off that left side when they didn't eavesdropping by making a four foot. Making it difficult and set. You looked flustered but then swung sixty. He followed up the field and he's economic mindset people nado silver pushed up the brain appreciate they got the press on and they passed so much better from a possession of twentieth thirty yards higher up the field so the starting position in the second half was so much better. An passing in the second half was so much crisper excellent.
What's Wrong with Man City?
"In the premier league manchester city once that close to winning the title after two victory against aston villa. Meanwhile spurs closing the gap on chelsea and fourth come from behind to meet some hamilton to one craig burley klinsmann native new with us craigslist dot with the city game. Okay sorry they all right sitting there not quite there swashbuckling. Best offer for ask if you don the show. That's why i was confused. So i just don byer after my wellbeing so you know the concern would be that. I think that's four games for country. The last four games the errors of shelter. johnstone's game. If you remember. I think all kicked off with the england game at wembley where he was dwelling on the ball. And you get caught and then a couple of long bulbs against leeds on the champions league game against dortmund and then you go without ball over the top today. Quick freaky deal with and then obviously had red card. So i think that would be worried that that okay koerbel cup final now because of the suspension but when it gets to the knockout games in the champions league it could be the second leg of semifinal. What does the all important stolen have played pretty much. Most of the season so that would be the concern sloppiness at the start but from not pretty much control the rest of the game after that first five minutes set it really put the hamadan
Man City Break UCL Jinx
"We kick things off in germany where it finished brucie dolton one of the city to however the champions league favors to sweat throughout this game because dortmund would take the lead batting with the goal one nil. Remember bruce you would be going. Through then. Marries convince a penalty fill phone with the goal of then guarantee city place in the semifinals where that as psg water game asking me. Look ahead to those games a little bit later on. Welcome indiana all going to feel. It's off native. Anouar anna craig. Burley to the show craig. Another good champions league tie today. Yeah absolutely and that goal from bellingham and he how good was he over the two legs for one so young but that goal just put the jails on minds on mindset of was going to be another story again but there were patient. Who a patient and the pastor and the got the job done. I don't think it was brilliant from them over the two games But it was certainly good enough. And i think dortmund can have many complete. I mean you can complain about the decision false game when the referee chopped off the bellingham goal but over the two legs. There was no surprise. We'll just a little bit too strong. But i thought they made a little bit work of the one hundred and eighty minutes then then then it should have been. I think when the draw was initially made made them we thought this is a bank city. We'll get through. No problem is craig said that made to work hard for it. I wouldn't necessarily say it was a banker but realistically call it. Favorable draw but the way that cities basically gone through this game here. It's been since about what had been like so far. Twenty twenty one. They don't always below teams away but it tends to find a way to win
Yilmaz nets hat trick as Turkey beat Netherlands 4-2
"Let's welcome in craig. Burley julian laurent and moreno guys. Plenty of world cup. Qualifiers to discuss. Let's start with the pick of the day from wednesday in group g turkey a four two victory over the netherlands bracket mouse with the hat trick. Telenovela scored as well david class in luke. Diong the goal scores for the dutch memphis to pie missing a penalty late. See this was a crazy game to come out more impressed with turkey or disappointed in the dutch. Oh definitely disappointed in the dodge. Listen to the tux. Four shorts and four goals. Something something crazier so clearly. The game plan was to keep tight and try and catch jonah. And so for them. It was a perfect game for the dutch yes. They scored two goals away from home. Yes they got. Apparently but all of these things were when it was too late and with a possession. The dutch with the ball particularly in the attack in the did absolutely nothing with so going forward in some respects. They a blunt. Clearly we useful goals. You got problems at the back. Alley pre pandemic. I feel like we were talking about. The dutch is a potential favorite. Dr course at least for the euro's things have certainly changed under frank gore and you just mentioned the name that changed at all frankly war he gets a hold of this national team and it's my goodness this is going to possess the ball to that they're gonna pass the ball sideways and back but when it comes to being efficient in the attack well there ineffective. This is a team that in the first half. Yeah they had all the possession in the world but did nothing with it as stephen. Just alluded to it and then defensively. Not enough for incision not enough work in one v one situations almost prize that the turkish team was actually getting after an attacking them when there were opportunities to do so. This team has all sorts of flaws. But i think the biggest flaw comes from the top frank gore. I just have to say. I have no idea how he got his hands on this national team job and to me it looks like a guy who dosing match the personnel that he has available to him on the field. This team is all over the place
UCL Quarterfinal Matches Are Set
"A lot to look forward to this weekend but really nowhere else to start beyond the champions league quarterfinal field is set in here to help us break it all down. We've got craig burley julian. The ron and archie rin todd. Let's go ahead and take a look at the quarterfinal matchups. the headliner. No doubt about it byron munich and getting underway april six. That could be an incredible match up as well other side of the bracket Madrid liverpool another champions league final rematch winner. That gets the winner between four and
Chelsea Flying High
"In sedition of espn don. Tom shown in the today by craig burley later. On in the show yanan shocked overheads reflect on by munich. Absolutely destroying laczi. Today we start by welcoming frank. Leboeuf an finale moreno to reflect on chelsea's one victory over atletico madrid and libya asia ruins brilliant. Okay vice cocaine proving to be the difference between the two sides prayed overruled chelsea deserve this. Oh absolutely and since tickle has commended as being a possession game and sometimes that has been a little frustrating so we can possession of gale in the final here. The chip to win chipped away at a little narrow during the game. You know particularly in the first half when it was like everyone was trying to through metal where vale mount planning inside trying to get the win bucks forward and it wasn't easy because at one point i said to you look at madrid. Six across the land up so it was no easy and behind but in terms of an away performance in europe or in spain but no way performance for chelsea against the league doesn't laliga always going to be a tough nut to crack and the still we'll be in the second leg. I thought it was a very very good performance. When you consider what many high to do and go nothing nothing bletchley literally nothing early on both fezzan across a bud touched from him but as for the rest of chelsea were extremely professional and are for clinical madrid. Were extremely poor.
Argentines bid final farewell to Maradona as national mourning begins
"Welcome into this special edition of espn fc as we pay tribute to diego maradonna. Who passed away today at the age of sixty craig burley with me here in the studio you can clinton joining us a little later on in the program to talk about what it was like to play against him. We also welcome to the show gab. Marcatti and argentine colleague from espn deported. Ricardo ortiz is with us rookie. I want to start with you to try out. Some how important. Maradona was for argentina. Hi guys pleasure to be with all of you. Maradona as the most important figure ever in argentina i. It doesn't matter what where when everybody would always talk about madonna. He's a legend. Now the idol and now a legend. I it's just unbelievable the morning and what people on the streets are doing in the middle of a pandemic they don't care if in argentina right now for example in the stadium of book juniors. There's hundreds of thousands of people probably a lot more tonight gathering where he played and won a championship. There's hundreds and thousands of people gathered around out of junior stadium where it all started and there's hundreds and hundreds of people outside of his house in a very poor neighborhood. Outside of one is ours. Quality fiorito the house where he grew up on with dirt floors lighting candles every street every corner every city. Every town people are out on the streets and tomorrow in the funeral it will be in the government's palace. They're expecting over a million people tomorrow in the center of one side is to say goodbye to somebody. Who's the most famous argentinian for us. And the most famous argentinian around the world ever so people are really suffering something that they knew it was going to happen sooner rather than later. What a player was. Yeah i mean multiple world cups. They played on one one obviously in a sex with not the best argentina site but he was amazing went to spain and eighty two and played in the world cup's twenty one year old a way in his shoulders. One so young at that point got himself sent off from the big game against brazil will even lend from the came back was even stronger delivered and one of the things that were thinking about is up until his death today. If he'd gone to any club to visit and the world the moment be the biggest clubs in germany. spain. Italy england every player. Some of these players are superstars. Everyone of these players would have wanted a photo. We've seen some of the pictures videos during the when he did go and visit Clubs over the past few years and an all these guys all the ones to do a photo. Welcome because everybody just know what a superstar boys and it could walk into any club under beg stars would all be over to say please. Can i have a full. Because that's how much people hold them and respect gap markazi with us as well gabe. Obviously we heard how argentina is hurting in particular as naples today. No question about it. People are out there on the streets in naples. Even though of course there is a curfew going on right now The connection that he made with naples obviously his adopted city and some might look some of the darkness in his life and pinpoint. That is the moment when when things started to go wrong for him by you know you. You speak to his teammates former teammates and dal speak of of his generosity. They speak about how he was always front and center always standing up to be counted. Random people on the street and to this day in the streets of naples. You'll find murals tomato. You'll find shrines to montana. He had a hold over a city city. That was when you arrive was was beaten down was was impoverished had never won a title There's a divide between the wealthier north of italy in the poor south of italy and they won two titles while he was their third one. They let slip away at the end. Still rather murky circumstances and he's the guy who changed all that he changed the inevitability of history. I think in the eyes of the united a lot of people and that's why he resonated so much she loved certainly enables but i think beyond that he loved being anti-establishment he loves speaking his mind. And i'll tell you what. Then i throughout his life you know. He had highs and lows he made enemies and then at times but in the end in the last fifteen twenty years whether whether it was pillay whether it was peter shilton he he came back and he made up with with a lot of the people he he fell out with and i was struck by something i read. I read somebody posted an interview. He gave back Back is a nineteen year old where he talked about how we talk about. Favorite actor was right on which i found kind of random but he talked about what is greatest trait was and he said i wanna be friends with my enemies and and i think in many ways that is how much of the world from a distance viewed him as as somebody who had the good fortune before he passed to go back and and and really rebuild all the bridges and all the relationships and and really leave us on on good terms with good terms with with very much. Everybody out there ricky. Take us through your point of view with regards to how you will remember him. Remember him of one of the greatest ever on the feel and also a personality so strong and controversial of it. Not many great athletes have done that that to be so much in spotlight for his entire life since since he was about seven eight years old when in argentina they started talking about him he used to play for the us and the red star is today's roca. Were people will gather out of nowhere. Because they knew there was a new kid that was unreal and this was way before cable internet and social media and he did all that before those times. Which is just incredible. He was just different than everybody else and that will remember him. Also as a great great captain whether you love or you hate him. He loved that. Argentinian jersey. More than anything in more than anybody. He was a great leader. He would push to the end. And that's why how he won a world cup. That's how we made it to the final and the second world cup. He played injured with his right leg in really bad shape his ankle and really bad shape. If you look at through the years he started at the age of sixteen Playing in first division and he never stopped. I think he could've played ten more years if he would've taken care of himself. I also remember him for that for not being able to really take care of his body and his mind. It just went over his heading. Never control himself. He went into politics and a lot of people hating him for that but he always spoke his mind. He didn't care. What where when and all. These things for maradona are just different. From almost every other athlete maybe with except mohammed ali that in and out of a field or boxing ring he just kept being on the front page of every paper and every newspaper that was ever printed. It's just unbelievable coming from argentina that i was listening to be there. You know you think of italian soccer in the eighties. I think he was one of the first ones who made people around the world. Want to watch league. Like the italian league just because maradona was playing he. He won napoli twice where they could have. Never even come closer to that. And i've been there many many times and it's just unreal today yesterday and thirty years ago for every day you can buy and maradona shirt. A lot easier than you canning. Senior member things ham seek e way. Anybody that played after him. It's just incredible. What those people thought and loved about the madonna to go back to you. What ricky said about. you know. it could've played longer. Potentially i looked after these body a little bit longer and his main but then the game didn't look after the maradona's back in those days and for louis people the younger generation watch lino massi. Do all these things and they are great. And i'm not taking that away. But he was doing that on. ploughed fields. right with pitches where the ball would. Something's wouldn't even bums are bubbled hard to control with defenders who were some of the roughest toughest one and literally wanted to snap them. It's not please legs. Because that was the only way to stop him and he had to deal with that every time we went on the field and still perform and some of the most wonderful and great goals. That will ever see you can imagine ho has body with the bean. At the end of a game ho the game was played and refereed and the eighty s is a complete contrast to the modern game and rightly so the way the current players are protected. He did not have the did not have that luxury and yet were still able to do that. Which is quite amazing. We'll say thank you very much to rookie for joining us Of course we just say out pouring of support. And this is what i had to say on twitter. What's sad news. I lost a great friend and the world lost a legend. There is still much to be said but for now make god give strength to family members. One day. I hope we can play pool together in the sky. Welcome to the show. Now someone who knew exactly what it was like to go. Head to head with maradonna international level in a world cup final and obviously on domestic level clinton's men into milan. When diego maradonna was. That is very best for napoli again. Thank you very much for your time. Just your initial reaction about very very very said moment. I think full entire world of football On monday madonna was Was an absolute exception. He was Probably for to take decades. You know the late eighties to the nineties. The most most Amazing play on the planet. He was a A genius he was i. I called him always artist. There's there's they did degrade football player. And then there's maybe one artist and diego maradona's was an artist. He what he did on the field full of creativity full of unbelievable to take knee was just an her off. And i had the pleasure to play many times against him with club team if it was stood guard and you if a cup final was germany world cup finally if it was Into milan the two games against napoli. And you just simple simply admire this guy and to have him. Passover early just sixty sixty years of age is a very very sad to pull unfortunately reality. You can just take us back to to that time. And just how big walls he while he was on his own level in. Oh they were great players obviously in the late eighties. Early nineties in italy Lauder mateos was one of the best players in the world goalie from boston. Right cut curriculum. Ow before i was maybe blood was was was unbelievable. Great players but he was an another level. He was just someone that that always made the difference and figured things out on the field that nobody else could figure out so you could men mock him. You could mock him his own older. You had no no idea how to mock him because he was just so gifted and so there was so much admiration for him and and outside the field he was just a simple very Normal person in a lot of people thought momma donna. All his Issues then drugs and other things. Li laid on was a very complicated person. He was not. Diego was a very down to earth. Very normal guy that just wanted to be with his friends with his families and What he has brought to argentina you will never forget that in what he brought to his especially to is not believer son of naples That people will never forget that. So imagine today You know how people morning in argentina and in napoli in italy and around the world is just a just a very sad moment. you're what was it like the reaction from the crowds when you were up against napoli and maradona's was on the board. I imagine just that sense of expectation must've being palpable even as a player. Yeah i mean i've been. I heard the news i was. I was really shocked as money. And and i posted something on my twitter side and i rarely actually post things but by posted something that i always thought about. Diego was his warmup routine depending on the music in the stadium started to do his routine with jogging and the ball around and that was made him. I think it has seven million hits by now. Life is live music. Dead really is jay. Go on monday madonna. He just wanted to be in rhythm himself if the music with the game and when you watch him then doing his walmart you you phase him actually as an opponent and you kind of have lost the game because you gave him so much respect you give him so much and because he was such a fantastic football player that your and that kind of transfer to the to the to fans in the stadium you know the even away games for him became home games because the people just wanted to see him. You know if you played in milan in front of eighty five thousand which is kind of standing up giving him standing ovations even if you may be lost a game or other games so so he was just a. It was a sustained unique over almost twenty years. And i always put him on the same pay leeann fronts. Bacon bala prior to madonna and then obviously came the next generations with Mac in our analogy. But but donna izzo in his own way. I simply unique. You mentioned the next generation yorgen and a lot of people may be seen. Maradonna play live the younger generation who are watching. Just talk about the fact that was. That was the protection. Was that from the referees. That maybe have now and you're playing on very different surfaces as well well in in in his days Obviously the fields were not good. The reveries didn't give you any protection. Ended defenders has killers. You know they just ditch us. I don't know how many follows a game run on madonna. Try to stop him all over two three defenders at the same time when all over him and he's still find solutions he's still found found a way out in score and scott incredible goals then so he took a lot a lot of hits And obviously his fame than along side in the spotlight living. The spotlight was not really his his wish. His wish was to be a normal guy playing his game. Making the difference on the field off the field he just wanted to be with friends and family but what he what he achieved because of those circumstances doing his playing days is almost impossible to achieve the interest thing as i saw clip from an of. You're on sky sports in the uk from a couple of weeks ago and it was moretz. You'll portrait was on former tottenham manager of course former argentine international news talking and they were talking about maradona. And he said we know we have all these stories about the off-the-field antics of recent years and even when he was playing but behind the scenes privately when he was with you or with. These teammates. Away from the glare of the media. He was a really genuinely warm individuals that wanted to help people the rest of as all a big story true for the newspapers but it was interesting portrait. He spoke so long layover in another thing. I think about because it's a different era to me but playing against the likes of the brazilian ronaldo the world cup and france ninety eight and seen what he can do with three or four plans around. You thought you had time in the corner on the over sudden four people and he was getting strike goal and we know how good he was. Brilliant for the hair would have been laid to play against off. That's where it was like playing against a great player. Light renowned on the other thing was empty before my oktay jokes. Gian-franco franco zola. He was going to be the air at one point. I believe to diego maradona napoli. No zola was a majestic player. But can you imagine having the way and your shoulders of go in there and potentially replace the quality of maradona. so it's unfathomable. Anybody can do that. But but no yet i think everybody of have over the piece of just we know there's lots of stories. We notice milan. But this was really apart from great. Football was a really genuinely warm guy. Last point again you do fail. That will never be anyone like diego maradonna again. I don't think so. Because i think diego maradona was was so unique because the way he emotionally connected with the people of his people and weren't as iowa's in argentina his people in napoli was so deep it was so warm and it was so i- amazing to see i traveled to and obviously go down to two zero so badly wanted to watch book. Juniors weevil played one eight. My life was when my list. And i walked through. Borka the the area around the stadium and almost every second house wall was a was a painting a tribute to jingle maradonna. I mean it's just what he left there with the people they were one they just just melted into each other and the same. He did in napoli for for napoli august. This is a today is very very sad. Sad day because this is this is her almost lifetime hero. I mean throughout generations. You know what he brought to napoli brought to the city of napoli brought hope he brought a smile. He brought excitement. He gave them pride pride. Because you know those years when he joined napoli was a big big Have kind of a disconnection between the south and off in italy and and he wanted to give these people real a real jojoba real pride. And that's what he did through the game of football. He used the tool of football to to bring these people up and and give them give them a quality of life to give them so much more than just his goals on the field. And that's what you see him. That's why i think devil be not a second minor donna coming up anywhere in the world he was. He wasn't one time off like michelangelo or fun. Goal or all these famous autists. He's he's one of them. You can kinsman. Thank very much sheriff supposed to be an outpouring around the world on social media messy writing a very sad day for all argentines and football. He leaves us but does not leave. Because diego is eternal. I'd take all the beautiful moments linked with him and wanted to take the opportunity to send him condolences to all his friends and family. Alrighty
Remembering Diego Maradona
He had highs and lows he made enemies and then at times but in the end in the last fifteen twenty years whether whether it was pillay whether it was peter shilton he he came back and he made up with with a lot of the people he he fell out
Official: Thiago Silva moves to Chelsea
"Tiago Silva to Chelsea is confirmed it's a one year deal initially with the option to extend for a further your it follows his medical which was completed in Milan Craig Burley and check in his slop still with me Craig how much does this help Chelsea in quest challenge? The likes of Liverpool Man City next season. I think it's a big help I mean although it's Player who I think is going to be fair sex very soon. But as a player played in the Champions League final as a player as hugely experienced. Still and Sharp, enough. UNCON- organized an lead lighting Butlin. The really struggled for most part of the season was a big reason. Why Chelsea till? Towards the end and stole realty to to make that talk for look, there's no inherent rescue. Apart from the fact that might not walk. There's no financial slightly apart from salary. And so I think it's an excellent saying short term when you consider the death of real call. The almost every talk club chasing the good ones going to cost money Chelsea, we spend money and other possessions this for me makes absolute sense. Now, thank Frat Lampe be hoping that he can bring new organizational qualities that is brought to club and country over the last decade a decade or so
Messi Wants Out
"For more reaction than to the breaking news that Messier's pass alone that he wants to leave the clubs, Robson Frank Leboeuf and Craig Burley with me Craig. I. Know you'll say one's not really that much were surprised, but it is a surprise. no, I don't think so. Don't I just think. Boss Alana, how become too blase and their approach to spending to recruitment. To structure. I think the always just fell while you know rule butter the all off from best dot and the next thing and he always saints contract. And he always stays and I think he's both. We talked about extreme after the game that I you know we would not be surprised if he wanted to go to pastures neurons and try some fresh I think this is great. I don't know. But the boys I think this is great. Here we have a guy who has got what I don't know top level maybe another three years depending on injury four producing the kind of. Is because of his age, and here we have them finally say in right who wants to showcase my challenge that is not bus alone ups I. Think this is brilliant unless it a. Huge Huge checkup, the backside full custody, and cloak. It really is thirty three years of eighty is frank. He still got it most definitely. The big question now that everyone is going to be asking is way is he going to go let's focus? Shall we on Manchester City because of the relationship with radio because one of the few teams you imagine who could afford his wages with this work feeding? I I think so yeah, I think as you said, you know he knows July and Gordon knows him. So I think he knows how to handle the the real man and and make the dressing work for works for him and and the Club of course, the financier for that and and I'm not very worried because we know. Marketing Wise Mush indicting wise that the money comes back very easily when you have big stars in those kind of players will create problems in the average for years where too much paid will create problems to a club. So I'm not worried about that. I think it's a very good option to see missy we city in the Premier League but I think he's the City's not the only going to the. We're going to go to to to an offer and make sure they have the the the former baby bustling player in. In the team I think if he's not a surprise is definitely amendment and I'm with Craig with that, I want to see that coming. Of course, bustling funds will be disappointed but I think it's in the world of football. It's a relevent like when we saw Renaldo leaving. Madrid to. Even. Bigger Zing missy living wearing another shirt is going to be huge. Of course, is the only club that he's ever known. Robert. Tactically say to get him how does that work? Well, I think it will. We've PEP Guardiola makes to build the team around when you're going to play like you have to build a team around him and that's what he'll do you probably Plame maybe off the front, you can play a slightly wider area and other players making runs beyond him that midfield would have to be better defensively. Because, he will be asked to track back and do a defensive side of the game. So I think he works at. Man. City you when you look at other clubs, I'm not sure it work other clubs. It certainly work inter because he'd have to out Front Antonio cone site would ask to be chasing around and closing the bow down that were I think the set up with Man City. Searching perfectly, he knows the manager the manager knows how to get the best out of him and I think he would actually improve play over the next two years because he's become a little bit stale as at Barcelona it'd be great. Everybody's the same placement city
Bayern Conquer Europe for 6th Time
"WELCOMING SOLICITATION ESPN AFC on down Thomas. Of course. One topic dominates today show and Matty's volume unit being crowned the twenty twenty you eight for champions the winners Kinsey Komen's goal the difference between the two sides I ever player in fact that Champions League final to school against his old Jamie Lee, frank and Craig Burley with me to reflect on the final Craig that wasn't quite as high scoring as we as expected however the best. The best team one and appear she will get CIANCI's the third clearly. Stating the obvious but there were good chances. You'd expect much better protect the MVP chance not long before halftime quite an embarrassing finish. To be honest and I personally think by got macho a first gear. In terms of you know what they can produce. were, able to control the game and when the Champions League yeah. This wasn't quite what we are expecting. Frank. Why not? Well because of clumsiness, some some players and and just mentioned MVP I think I'm not sure that mini. Was the best team overall during the season of chimpanzee. Yes. But then that game I think they were in control of the game but personally, I had some chances to to to surprise him to kill them even and. The fantastic new year in goal I. Think. Could have lead the game in the first half but again, mini chinses wasted by a the strikers and I think Keefe I can regime the game I. Think the defense is the defense is better than the tax which pulls them what we were expensive causality. Wasn't but I think a good example of that was choice at NC. Flake makes in terms of having Komen playing therapeutic. Essentially telling us you know what we think insulin common can dominate one one situation sending doing that we don't need. WE'RE NOT GONNA force funds Davis to get forward down the left hand side because kids can take care that. Finish it cannot do that as well. He talks signed. Davis on the overlapping runs and I think is by design that Afonso Davis did not really have a for dissipation in attack he was holding back almost as if to say, you know what this is our way of not dropping off we're going to maintain our hide line while we're not gonNA take many chances going forward and I think what you saw from by Munich is they played A conservative game with a lot of talented players and bathing. Not WanNa take chances really going forward because the the time that they did take those chances going forward than PSG had opportunities and when we say that PSG had opportunities, we're talking about PTSD team who had the chances fall to the right people. It's too bad is to Neymar is to Maria three clear opportunities in my opinion. In the first half they not take advantage of and from then on it was difficult to see PTSD to get after by Munich particularly after by an escort PSG got disorganized, they were more concerned about the files, the yellow cars, the physicality of the game rather than playing the game a no better example of that that Neymar who in the second half had difficulties trapping the ball passing. The ball doing the basic stock he was busy drawing fouls but not actually having an impact on the game. We
Bayern, PSG Set for UCL Final Clash
"We'll start though in the champions they it's the final will wanted PSG will take on by Munich. Be Leon by three goals. So now hey, it's a disgust, the Game Alley Moreno Frank Leboeuf and Craig Burley crank. This was buying far from their swashbuckling best but they got the job done. But you've gotta you know Leon. Shown the the the main street. One of the mainstream is making it difficult for fully opposition. Something really gusty overlooking aid to improve on next year F-. where, they're going to finish league on. But that's what the stall out particularly in as competition the on the counter-attack, the super organized, the aggressive and so I think. Never expected it to be this crazy open game. That Barcelona fine with. So. In that respect, it was understandable but also Leon as you know follows it was no they created chances in the game and and after finishing had been clinical. More interesting. I thought it was professional from bio Munich brought some big boys on from the bench as well. But yeah, they deserve and Leon I'm sure front will agree on. From from a Frenchman can hold the head high for what they've done in this competition. Right. Yeah I'm not disappointed by the result because we all were expecting that to buy in, will win and go and go to the final, but we can be able to be frustrated as a French fans said. About the fact that yacht some chances I think there are more and more chances to school than they had against Manchester. City where they scored three goals but before that magnificent goal from Niagara. I think he. Took A. Big Chance. Said hit the post but well because of the fantastic Noyer Bienne Wearing. Punished where they opened up a little bit too much defensively especially behind the defense. But I agree with with Craig. Is Very. Well organized did everything to to annoy. By Munich, their resume and The physical aspect of their games. And played them in contract that was the only solution for them to be hopeful for better better school. By Munich manage to do everything well for them and and ensured that. They definitely for me the the favorite now and we've talked about maybe after the other segment, it's. Something to to. Four four. Fulbari. Essential. In. The in the perspective of that final, because by monique was very weak at some point defensively, it's really open started this game and it's fair to say, isn't it Ali before mabry scored? It could could've been to. It could've been any this should have been and so really got to see US putting together a game plan for Leon coming into this game and to match you think okay if we can force a turnover an intimate sale and then with one past week in getting behind, we can get the pine behind Doku accompanied by then maybe we get ourselves goal and we make this game a whole lot different a lot more complicated for buying Munich and that's exactly what Happened it's a turnover by the gun, but now it's a through ball in the pie gets around among annoy open goal unable to score and thinking. Okay. Maybe that was a chance. Maybe that was their opportunity. This is what could have changed the game for Leon, but it wasn't just that chance is tall can be had couple more himself where the one in which he somehow goes through the talented gets up left-footed everything to shoot at hits at the post. And its second slater than that. You see every kind of say. All right. Well, you guys miss your chance. We're not gonNA Miss Hours, and here we go. It's all about our talent and what we can do in the attack in half by immunity took over from there but I agree with frank in the sense that you look at via Munich and how vulnerable and file they look sometimes defensively that in that very transition I think Leon looked at it and Say Wait a minute. If we attack the steam, we're GONNA, create chances and in doing so they got themselves a little bit straight down when they got stretch. Then all of a sudden transition going the other way average scores one, and then things just of opened up, and then of course, the second one again on transition down the left hand side, and then from there, it was all over for Leon and by Mimic what were underway how good was that go from? Craig. Yeah I mean he's a special player now isn't it? I mean let's be quite Frank Burrup. You know three or four years ago he wasn't and his career looked zeph it wasn't really happening anywhere an unfair play. You know he's the guy that tell them to around. You know we can take people on and field you can change your core cheese, you can do ever played himself. has turned on his head and and he's just a huge threat. No. Way that it took the goal in terms of the touch how he inside. There was always two or three defenders around him, and then he just made half nothing more halfway yard. Rifle and the top corner is you started so much. These gave confidence. Experience and played such good players around him and he's he's you know as. You ask the coach he's when he was playing back in. England you know ask no online at West Brom really was a player going nowhere not. Far From Levin Dolph Ski who has the first name on the Bion team sheet this guy is not far behind. That's an amazing. At how does this happen? How does he change around so quickly? While I think Sarandon's have to do a lot with it and I am the expectations that are generated by the people around you and when you have a train environment or by Munich where everybody's expected to perform at a high level at all times and when the only expectation for you individually NFC group is you're GonNa win everything that you participate in. Then you'd better show up I think it demanded the best navarine. We have seen the very best of him. Now, this could have gone horribly wrong for him, and then whenever he was asked to give his best well, maybe that wasn't going to be good enough I by Munich and his career was gonna come to an end somewhere out without having achieved the things and now he has opened himself in terms of the chances that he has in front of the things that he can achieve. I think he got to a point in which he needed to answer the call he needed to be the player that. We all thought that he could have been on at, but we didn't see enough of it now that we see the full potential well, then it's it's it. You just have to SORTA asked the question asked to not only the individual players such whenever he had the you get to this point but to the training environment that he was part of before, that couldn't get this side of him. So yes, it is fair to go and ask the world's going on back there and I think you also have to recognize that via Munich have done a wonderful job of putting him in a position in which he can truly showcase his talent and you can. You also have to say to the player. He was a chance. Here's your opportunity take advantage of it and he has gone so such a good job of really showcasing what he is player this year of
Messi Dazzles as Barca Advance
"Barcelona taking on Napoli One, one, this of course going. into the second leg at the camp. Now, boss in the end winning by three goals to one heads of discussing Alley Moreno Frank Leboeuf who's about to become a grandfather for the first time. He's adore to in labor and without comment we also introduced Craig Burley as well to the program Craig. Let's start. Shall we reflecting on that win for at the camp now once again Lionel Messi was instrumental. Thank. You. So when you went for thirty thousand and just just delaying the inevitable for him one more game going to the core finals. You know and you can't say much more than. in terms of the performance, it was unsurprising that. Not Play who finished seventh and Sarah will still very much towards the end of the game I thought that you'd brought Milijana Burt eller physical presence. And get more balls in the balked. He didn't do that until the last ten or twelve minutes and so bacelona got away with it was messy sharpness. That gotten through particularly the the bold inactivation killer Bali. For, the kick, but there was one or two calls in the Game B-. Bustle, and got the job done is they should have. Done done against the site are not the best in Syria. We'll talk about some of these dubious calls in a moment but I thought you talked about the so much. Have we I feel after every Barcelona game about how dependent they are on messy? Yeah, it's it's not gonNA take not anytime soon that is the way that they play and everybody on the field looks for where Messi is and give him the ball and led him resolve the issues. There isn't any more productivity coming from anywhere else other on the field. There is a through ball from anybody else there isn't a final pass from anybody else across from anybody else if it's not messy, essentially winning the ball given to himself, crossing the to himself and finishing himself it's very, very difficult to see where Barcelona produces Brielle, goalscoring opportunities and. Again. Today we saw Nantong agrees bid a lot of running a lot a lot of work for the team defensively by very little impact offensively restarted scores have penalty gig, but very little outside of that and really what was truly surprising about this game in the second half is to see Barcelona at home just renounced possession just four for the possession say, yeah, you will. You have the ball you see if you can create something on, we're going defend. Now this is Barcelona we're talking about this is not a millennial team. This is not a defensive team, per se and yet at team that you have historically seen at the count now just knocking the ball around really. Possession Monday, the rhythm of the game that is not what we saw today in the second half they were more than happy to sit behind the ball, very unlike Barcelona but in the end effective effective and to advance onto the next round. Frank is testament to what have done in this competition over previous years. The even three one up I home with ten minutes ago you still felt you had to watch this game to the end just in case Napoli got back into it. Yes. Exactly. Because you know that defensive, a bustling is very fragile and the showed that many many times and. And the consistency now they're the talent is not as well except that you have a fantastic little man missy to also do young think he did well, I mean the outside the food when he gave him the giftable macy when he scored and the goal was. disallowed. is an absolute beauty but otherwise, Yeah Celine Craig, it's very very. Well you. No performance style you know where where you don't see many things you you see only one guy doing the difference and that's it and you you I wanted to to see after the. Win Win scalding just before the off time. Say Six second time. It's going to be better. Maybe we're going to see something. Well, he didn't happen to the bid at some point but. How. The of the day you Didn't see a good game good game I. so average she'll team against I've sees a dude, the shade of the that we known I think we're doing the rest of these bustle and a disservice here. Yeah, they're under performance. There's no doubt about it, but sometimes players even the best players are looking for guidance and we know we know there are holes in the boss loners squad the there's quite a few top teams have holes in the squad. But did you spend all in? Well, let's see. It's just a messy for Barcelona. I think when you look around, I think what they need to find as as yeah, a balance within the squad which comes through budget. But a coach, find a key to unlock the clear talent there, and it takes some pressure off message Volvo they struggled and lost his job and said to him was a man it was going to commend with as Grit football style from Betas and nuts really not happened, and so there is more in the locker for boss of them were seeing I'd just feel that the sampler not playing well, another players looking for guidance. And yet defined the court this going to command and the last twelve to eighteen months or so and fainter sets up the gets the best of everybody else as well as getting the best Lino. Messy then Barcelona will be in better

But it's no big deal and really should we be surprised? You know Liverpool war on heightened. Anyway, and we're playing against a great team. And they just outplayed, but you know what. After the next game when they weren't well before Gotten Craig I saw you on twitter, talking about how this is taking the shine of slightly the title. Yeah Yeah was trying. Trying to encourage those edits that will suggest that not go away. Hide under a rock. Liverpool for fifteen twenty minutes. Were the Liverpool. That will come to admire, but then I just thank God. For you know war subconsciously. Doesn't really Martin and the. It doesn't for them and and some sense from a professional standpoint, the steam engine you don't. You're never meant that neither team that for seven days as we celebrate within the League you agree in. Yeah absolutely I there was a god Ivana formed by the Manchester City plans level, and quite rightly, too, but that was all. They began to give them tonight. I think they wanted to just make a point to live appropriate is little point and admire reflection. Watching that was it felt unreal. It felt like a friendly. It didn't have the intensity really of Manchester. Manchester Society Liverpool game as we understand it, it'd be end. It didn't really matter being Liverpool picture full strength team They wouldn't have wanted anything like that to happen, but it did and all. I can say really. Is that Liverpool? Yeah the one that comes to was way by two three Liverpool dropped the title up. We're like four games to go. And of course I'm I've just joined the team and I'm trying to get and so I'm I'm all on edge I'm I'm I'm coaching trated and that same team that completely dominated dot year. Finished the season with with like. Three defeats a two defeats, two draws, and then score any goals and. Just was was a shell of what had been previously, and these were these were experienced center national players who had been through the ringer renew. It was all about. And it didn't. Didn't really have that much. There was no wedge. There was no edge with the coaching staff and so. Particularly me I shouldn't have been surprised. It Didn't really matter in the end, but I'm intrigued to get your thoughts on the penalty Steve Did. You think it was the right decision. Listen I can see why the referee gave it because. Y-. Gomez on was across the front, and how to hold of of of Sterling, no question. The problem I have is that and the same tussle they were having sterling had half of Gomez Short, and he's left hand holding them all. So that's the only thing that annoys me I can see why it was given. A little dive, either by the way I don't see how you can die when somebody's holding onto your belly button. But I can see why it was governed. And as you said previously, the truth is the titles wrapped up. So why get bent over of boater? Didn't
