"But right now it's the blues head coach craig ruby. Tell me about this. Golf opportunity to be playing with jack and tom and ozzy. I'll how much fun is that going to be. Yeah it'll be fun for sure. I mean just from my standpoint will be great to be around those guys and those guys And you know just be around him. I think they're all legends in their own games and what they did in In their sport it'd be an honor for me to be around. Those guys spent an afternoon with them. We golf fan growing up. I know you guys can't play hockey three sixty five but did did you play golf as a kid no i. I never became a golf fan until you know later on. You know. I turn pro hockey and you know most hockey players play golf in the summertime. So i took up golf then. And i still play today and I enjoy the game. I i watch a lot of golf on tv. You've been around a lot of famous people. But when you're playing. And jack nicklaus is right next to make it a pod and tom watson's in your card and there's ozzie smith i mean is part of you a fan at that moment. Oh yeah for sure and You know i'll be nervous for sure. I mean that you know again being around Three guys like that without stature and what they accomplish in their careers. It's amazing and I'm going to really enjoy the day. What does it mean to you to be asked to do stuff like that. I mean your celebrity in saint louis has gone way up with you win a cop. You get these kind of invites. What does it mean to to be included in groups like this. No that's great. It's fun and You know You know i. I'm glad i got the opportunity and glad i was asked to do it. And again it's Something that i'll remember forever To be to be asked to do that as an honor and as a golfer how good. Oh i'm okay sometimes. Sometimes not very good depends on the day huts. Best way. I can describe it will. Will they be more pressure. Like ten thousand on the last hole. When you're what's the most you've ever played for. Have you ever had a big pot. We had to make it to earn some cash. Whether for charity or yourself not ten thousand. I've played you know. I've had my share of Gambling on the golf course you know obviously and But not for that kind of cash but again it'll be nerves will be part of it but it'll be fun. Tell me about the season ahead. You're obviously out here seventeen. What processor win right now. Just getting ready for camp. Yeah pretty much like. I think you know. We're ready for camp. Pitcher always tinkering with things and You know being around the players. They're all here Working out skating on their own. so it it's it's good to be around players and a little different environment Because once camp hit it gets pretty serious. And you know everybody's dialed in so it's a little bit more laid back atmosphere and you get to talk to your players and be around Talking to them about different things but also at the same time you know around there the coaches and we're doing a lot of work and getting a lot of video ready and You know tactical stuff and system stuff and things like that. It wasn't a roster overhaul but would you say you refresh the rostrum into got a little bit of a different look with butchnevich and saad coming in. How would you characterize it. Yeah i think they're real good deals for sure. I think we've got bush nabet suze a young upcoming player. He's played really well in new york already and he's He's real good two way player. And then we get a proven better and that's one cups You know again. He's been on championship teams and knows how to win and He's a good two way player too. So i think that I thought we improved our for group for sure. And i think we're an improved team. How much pressure is there. I don't know if that's the right word but to kinda mix it up when you don't advance in the playoffs two times in a row. Is there the idea. Hey let's try a little something different. I know some guys contracts. Were up but how much of it is a mindset of. Hey we gotta mix it up a little well. I think from a player standpoint from gm standpoint. You're always trying to improve your team and there's always deals that have come up and you know whether players want to you know make changes. Are they went contracts and things like that but from a you know the way we wanna play in our systems and stuff. We're always trying to make adjustments to try to get better You know we've lost in the first round two years in a row so we got improve and get better. It's not good enough. What was the area you thought you needed to improve is it. Does the team need to have more grit. How would you define what you were looking for as from a player as maybe like the team as a whole woods. What do you consider missing ingredient while. I'm not sure it was missing ingredients like you know. I think you know we're going to have a healthy tarasenko back this year And you know a bush. Nab it's assad so you're you're really adding three. You know. New players team almost healthy players. That are coming in We all have good size and You know two of them are proven winter. So i think our team improves highway and from the other side of things. I don't think that you know the the year we lost out in a bubble To in my opinion we didn't play good enough defense ploughs and then again this this last year. I didn't think we played good enough. Defense defensively We've got to be a better defensive team when we won the cup who are great defensively That was are you know we. We counted on that every night. And we're going to get back to that. The tarasenko stories played out armies talked about it. He asked for a trade. He hasn't been traded as the coach. How do you deal with that You know i. I think just conversations with lodhi both things and obviously doug armstrong and You know i've had conversations with body. He's in a good spot and he's here to play and prove himself and and you know try to win. That's all we talk about. I mean yeah he asked for trade and things you know that's the way it goes sometimes but he's here right now and he's here to help the blues win. He's at a tough spot for you as a coach or do you feel like when the season starts if he's a blue then we're done talking about it. Yeah for sure. But i think it's always It's always there. And he always going to have to maybe talk about things and bring things up and and him to and he'll wanna talk about things so he's lodhi and i got a good relationship and So we'll communicate about things but again he's here right now and he's here to help the blues win. How much of the roster does doug sit with you and you kinda think about ways to be different players. He looks at he goes and gets assad in which navigate. But how much are you guys talking about what you need. Yeah i think there's always communication With doug abode a lot of things and he's a he's a great communicator. And he likes to get a lot of information likes to give all information not only with me but the whole management group and ownership group and things like that so he. There's a lot of information Going everywhere we you know. We discussed what we think we need and we try to get that players. You guys locked up colin perico. Is there now an expectation that he sort of emerged as even more of a leader and maybe even on the ice. He's more of a presence. Yeah well i mean. I think colin last year was an off year for sure with his injuries. So you're gonna see a healthy wrinkle this year and you're gonna see Probably him back the form. The way used to be and your group. A large part of the group is still here that one is there a real hunger now like minutes. It's been a few years since that cup run. You think there's a collective hunger there to do it again. Y'all i do. I really do. I think I'm i think our guys want to win all the time i mean they you know they they put in the effort and our competitive people Especially the guy you know. The guys that have won. They're very highly competitive guys and they always wanna win. I think we've got a group of young guys coming here to that are going to be better this year. So that's going to help us win. Guys like hiroo thomas so from within you can improve right. Oh definitely i think that. I think that we have and you have to in this league. I think it's important that your young guys develop and they become real good players for your team the salary cap and all the other things that go into it so you know you look at cairo. Thomas little wallman all these young guys that are coming up and they played.

"Try not to be awkward. But sometimes it does to sorta happen on meeting craig ruby. The other day at the seventeenth minniti. I center and we were kind of trying to figure out where exactly to meet. And so then i call them and when he answers i get sort of stuck between calling him chief craig and coach and i think i kinda monitored like f- which i'm guessing he's never been called in his life. Maybe the guys still intimidate even though he isn't punched anybody in years far as we know but craig ruby. The blues head coach is the guest on the kilcoyne conversation and sort of twofold because blues training camp is only a couple of weeks away hockey starting to get on our brain now. The roster moves that were done over the summer adding which never jr and brandon. Saad we hadn't talked to chief about that but also the fact. He's getting to take part in the gulf. this weekend. The ascension charity classic paired up over the weekend with the charity challenge on saturday. Craig bouroubi is teamed with tom watson. Take on ozzie. Smith and jack nicklaus and I was curious because you know the chief is pretty low key. Doesn't you know show his emotions a whole lot. But that's gotta be pretty freaking cool. When you're riding around and jack nicklaus is right there even the wizard ozzie. smith with his legendary status and baseball and for chief to be included in that group. I think it really does speak to his celebrity in saint louis. You win the cup your your legend for life. There's no doubt about it. But that's part of it. His golf take. Has he ever had any zivorad hole in one before. I was curious about that. So some golf thoughts but then we get into the roster itself. What's ahead this season and sort of that hunger to get back through to win another cup. After a couple of quick outs in the play offs and blues fans are you know will live off that cup win forever but at some point you got to start giving a going again. And i was really curious as to whether he thinks they needed to refresh the roster where they was missing ingredient. You know every time a team loses they say well. We're too slow. Well we were too young well. We weren't heavy enough when you just goes round and round and i was curious if he thought they had some element that they were looking for. Because it seems to me when you add saad in all soup which navid you're looking to get these two way guys people that play defense and offense forwards that you know. Have a two way game so we started chief about that. Also the interesting situation where you have a player. A star player vladimir tarasenko who has asked to be traded and he hasn't been traded. How do you deal with that. And we get chiefs. Take on that so some blues conversation. A little bit of golf mixed in with craig ruby. The kilcoyne conversation as always presented by. "What you need type in. We're on Google and Alexa. Streaming on a website. So we're everywhere. 5 to 29872. You want to interact with the show Hairston, Wind of D N v. E R is going to join me in the next segment. Talk about the the Nuggets. The most problematic thing yesterday. That's one of my main questions to Harrison. Is. There are some things I talked about at the beginning to show the jazz. They're not going to shoot that well. Even when the Nuggets were playing good defense, they were still knocking down shots. So I would say That's the one thing that you don't have to worry as much about. But there are some things that are a little concerning and also Gary Harris question Mark. What's going on. You know, has reported that will barn has now left the bubble. So indefinitely definitely means he's not back in these playoffs. What about Gary Harris? And how much do they need? Gary Harris this round and beyond. So Harrison's gone to join us in the next segment. I'll talk bats with line him up at the bottom of the hour. Let's talk about the abs, so they ah dispatch of the Coyotes. And now they're just chilling and waiting to find out who they play. And because these playoffs are receded, we don't know exactly who the as will play. We don't even have it narrowed down to two teams. We know for a fact they will not play the nights. And we know for a fact they will not play the Calgary flames even if the flames end up winning their series against the Blues. Stars Blues Canucks. Those are the three opponents that are possible for the Colorado Avalanche. And I think that the I have a preference. And I'll just tell you that my preferences Dallas Because of I mean, I guess Ben bishops, not their goalie anymore. I mean, cute opens been there for Every game that I've seen. But we saw what the Arabs were able to do to the stars in the Round robin And you look at ST Louis. There's still the champs. Last night. You know you You're backto wavering a little bit on the blues. But when they made the switch from Bennington to Jake Allen and look like that spark Craig Berube ease team, they want a couple of games. But then the Canucks came back last night. But again if we're sitting here and were Joined the Met, picking I would rather not face The champs. If I had my druthers, and also I said this going into the bubble. I think Vancouver is a problem. Vancouver's speed and their youth. In the way Markstrom is playing in goal. They're going to be a They're going to be a handful for the ABS or The Knights. If they are able to beat the Blues. So I go. I go down the list of quite a list of things, and I say Okay, Adam all up. I feel like Dallas is Is the most ideal match up. But then I asked the question Does it really matter? And I would say Not really. I don't think It really matters who the ABS play. They have debunked the idea that Dallas is a bad matchup for him. With the seating games. You know, they split the season series with ST Louis and then won the rubber match in the round robin. And they beat Vancouver this year, So there's nobody that you look at. And you say, Well, we don't know if they have taken Beatem have proven they could be all three of these teams they've beaten there to central division rivals. Recently. And the way that they were playing, and this is what you want to dio. If you're a championship team And I hate Tio put the abs and the nuggets up against each other, but it's a natural comparison to make The Arabs have put themselves in a position with the way they have played..

"So so when you mentioned don I kind of following head. What kind of person that he wasn't? He was world class. That's for sure and what a great voice! What a wonderful voice! We only have a couple of minutes left, but you were part of the broadcasting crew, of course for Saint Louis when they won their first Stanley, Cup Championship in two thousand and nineteen. What do you remember most about that season? And why did they win the championship that season? Expectations were high to begin the year. Mike you always the head coach. Craig Berube was brought in assistant coach who was very successful wherever he'd been they traded for Rhino Riley. They brought entire Bosak Boy It was just a team that was. Everybody thought they were going to be really really good at the beginning, but they weren't. They didn't what I remember most. I was between the benches, and I remember saying that on the air that until these players check their egos at the door. They're not gonNA be a team and slowly, but surely wants Craig. Ruby took over from Micheel. Team started playing for the front of their sweaters, and not for the names on their back, and it was an incredible transformation by the end of the year I felt like they were never going to lose a game. That's confident I was and so did I believe it at the beginning, not the last place in January, the only team to ever be. Be In last place at that date and then Win Stanley Cups, so but they they were destined to be that great. They just started off so slowly, and then they got a goalie named Jordan in the been in the system. I've watched him for five or six training camps, and he just wasn't you know at that level, but he came up after five years in the minors, and he was ready to go, and he had some bravado to them, and I think the entire team a great deal of confidence, so he was a main part of it for sure. In about two minutes. What do the great players in hockey have consistently? Consistently. Consistently are the best players on the ice They're consistently the most even killed people. From Maryland Muda Wayne Gretzky Steve eisman Joe SACK team with Salon. You name these guys they're. They're even killed. Nothing's going to bother them. They're just going to go. Do their business and and and and. They play against the best players they go against the hardest match ups. and. They play the most of minutes at the most important time and. They just have something about them. There's A. There's a presence about them. There's a talk that they have. There's just a a level of greatness that you can tell that they're special. In the final minute here I remember talking to Michael Jordan. And the one thing that it can be said about him that it was part of all the greatness and basketball is that he understood the game so well that he knew what he had to do at any given moment in a game to make his team successful, and he made the other players around him better than they actually were fair city. Probably the best. Yes, that's the best description there, and that's something I should have added for sure I mean that's. Looking at many wingers Wayne Gretzky had other than Jerry Curry that he made great merrill of you the same way they're all the same way. They think people around them better after watching the documentary and Michael. Jordan and being in Chicago for those years district him the ball and and that makes everybody around him. Better that was that was a special time in sports in watching Michael in this Kaga Bulls. Staring I WANNA. One is the head coach now three is an assistant and he's the type of personnel e likes to stay in the background. And but when you hear the players talk about how important he was in particular with this defense and how well they played in the strength that they showed and what they learned from Larry Robinson and able to get to this point Kenny. And, you know, you, you mentioned Jay Bouwmeester Maistre and his long. Wait. How 'bout Alexander Stein as well as such an important player in personality on this team because Craig Berube e the head coach told us that he was the most important player that he had to convince a what his role had to be in order for this team to win and it was a role. I was not going to be on the top three lines. It was a role that was going to be on the fourth line. And that's what he had to play. "And so play was allowed to continue on. So it's sort of, twofold, there's no call, you got the one guy already complaining to the ref about being sent to the box, which isn't even happening. And then you have the Bruins sort of standing around and watching what's going on. And that allows David Perron to really beat three Boston players and score the goal which is you know eventually the game winning goal. So look it's a bad look. And Dan this this Cup has been really good. This has been a really special Stanley Cup based allot on the on the teams in the market. Right. Saint Louis has been waiting for this. For so long. This has been a heavy, heavy hard hitting series. And unfortunately you get you get a call like last night. And you know, that's what people are talking about the, the front page of the Saint Louis post dispatch this morning Blair's. You know what a trip? We do love clever newspaper headline. So, but also, I think the blues prepared for penalties leaves. I think they are. Right. So I can't sit here and go boy, what are the Bruins complaining about a penalty should have been called? And I think the blues expected a penalty to be called, no question. And and, and they had their palms near all sorts. The player Bosak of Saint Louis, I think was on his way to for the penalty, and you go, so he's not continuing on either go David Peron to keep playing and score that goal. So the lot of you know, we're going to talk about the call. I get at Boston was dominant in the first period, this game should have been over in the first period. I think they outshot them, you know how even was eighteen to seven, so there's a lot going on unless we're not that far removed from from game three when when Boston and say was seventy two Craig Berube, ED still interim head coach of the blues goes on the attack the next day, then and he goes three steps. Three times in eight minutes, span, he goes, hey, and the first three rounds at least penalized team of the NHL and, you know, he kept banging home that point, you know, and you wonder if it's the booze disciplined, or actually, the way it's being called and in games four and five but Bruins power play opportunities have been cut in half. So, you know, we think Saint Louis, you know, smartened up all of a sudden. Or did he really have an impact on how the officials are call Siri so, and that makes obviously they fabulous fabulous? "As the would say, I like my. Oh, I'm gonna sit up. I got a great view of the room and what are we talking about? A couple of things we'd be talking about one. How about before we dive into the actual playoffs in the NBA. And on the ice co I Leonard filed a lawsuit against Nike over the use of his personal logo so trademarking logos that kind of stuff if you think it's not real. Oh, yes, it is. And here we are in the middle of the NBA finals. He's the raptors forward. He's their star. And he's got this other thing happening Monday that happened. He claimed that the shoe if his attorneys file he claims the shoe and sports manufacturer claimed ownership of the logo he designed in filing an application for copyright protection's. How about that nine page sucker in a southern California district court he saying it's fraud. God, he wants control over the use of logo at going forward. We'll see what happens because he's gotta deal with new balance, and he ended the endorsement deal with Nike expired in September of last year in nets in the lawsuit. So the drawing that he said he authored was the continuation of drawings. He created since he was a kid in his college career, and it's an outline of his hand with the initials. K L, and the number two inside it wouldn't be. It's gonna be interesting to see where a judge goes with this because he gave them permission to use the logo on some of the merchandise. And then he used it. Quite used it on his own stuff that wasn't Nikes and Nike's objecting to him using the logo. So he wants control of it for all of his stuff. And this is one kinda follow from the point of view of what will they rule as far as the copyright is concerned, especially since initially they had permission, will they rule in favor of Nike against Leonard or can Leonard say these were my drawings. Here's what I said. But is that going to be here, say, you know, who knows? But it is one like I said to follow if you're curious about that kind of stuff, which I'm curious about because I've seen some insane copy write stories, and we've talked about them. We've had actually we've had a couple of different lawyers onto talk about copywriting and why do you care? And what if you're listening to me, and you have a business, and you've got a clever name? And then somebody else sees the clever name. I take it and it you know it changes the game for you. And that's what happens. It's not a big deal, like everything else, until it is a big deal. And then it's crushing especially when it's your baby. Right. When it's yours, it's a whole different ballgame. So to speak a whole different game. All right. How about the warriors they've got home court advantage with that game to win which they needed. The raptors are really playing wellness. Let's face it. The warriors won one. Oh nine to one o four. So there's a lot of excitement for this series. And for very good reason, the tightness of it. The warriors have won a road game in twenty three consecutive straight playoff series. How about that? So they just extended NBA record. They have all kinds of records. Right. This team is loaded. They're like the avengers are the avengers of the NBA. I mean there's your great question if they win, if we're in the man, cave pass the chips the locale ones, please. We would be talking about the Premacy of the warriors, and if they win another championship, which would be their last in Oakland because they're moving to a very expensive arena in San Francisco, that would be three. That'd be a three peat for them. And if you look up and down there online up, they got nothing but talented players. It's not just deaf curry, it's everybody else in between. Right from Kevin Durant to Klay Thompson to. Everyone on the team frankly is like even the water boy is talented the best league. I saw an interview on sixty minutes that John worth did. I thought it was so well done. He was such a great writer for Sports Illustrated. He may still do some work for Sports Illustrated. But anyway, what was so interesting was to look at some of the shots, that they got of the warriors and where they were hitting them. I mean from and this is something we didn't know. But we're they're hitting them from on believable range tossing it up. Easy goes down nice and easy, and whoever it is who's out there on the on the floor? They're like a dagger to your heart with what they're able to do. It's just that deep there on Shakahb there on beatable. Draymond green. Iggy when he's there DeMarcus cousins can't leave him out of it. It's crazy. And how much more can the warriors win in Oakland. This is it, this would be their farewell. Love letter last hurrah. So to speak in Oakland, because that's it after this, then they're moving to San Francisco. And would they say for one of the sweets to get into one of the sweets where they've got a Butler, and they rating on, you know, this sort of stuff two million dollars two million dollars for season? That's one of those big corporations in Silicon Valley that can afford to sell out that for sure because that's crazy. Imagine who you're Enertainment -taining, sweets. But this, this facility was a billion dollar facility and the owners took it all on themselves. They didn't pass it on with any kind of tax tax payers, or any of that kind of thing. So it makes a big difference, but add hand is Ken. They hit the three point. I mean, the three peat rather. So the warriors get that next game. It tips at nine o'clock eastern, it's at oracle arena and golden Sates favored by six points, but coli, Leonard has definitely played well in the playoffs whether he doesn't like what's going on with his claw logo or not? He's certainly playing well. And so some of his teammates, too, I think this next game is going to be very, very interesting except for that. This is home advantage for team. That is just killer. I mean, just absolutely killer. We go to the ice. So it's a little bit, colder and a little bit different story when we talk about Saint Louis, and the Bruins except for this couldn't be a better series either. The series is tied at two on Thursday. The blues are in Bruin territory, and it's TD garden, obviously. And we've seen some wild things from, you know from this series so far hard to believe winding this down in June, when I think of hockey in June. So the blues with their four two win. Did it they, they shook up their lineup? They did what they had to do. And. You know, they're ready to roll with the blues were not happy, Craig Berube e who is the coach for the blue said he doesn't know why team gets penalized so much. He thinks they're getting the screws put to them in the Stanley Cup finals. But hey they pulled it out. So now they're in Boston territory. And he's saying look the the penalties have been been horrible to us. We've taken fourteen penalties in one series. So he doesn't think the whistles being swallowed because some people are saying that whistle has been swallowed at some moments. But he saying, no, not when you look at what's going on with my team, so we could probably argue about calls, but it would depend on, if you're a Bruins fan or a blues fan. Let's face it because whichever way that goes that's what you're gonna look at there. We all know that football makes the world go round and round and round and round although. Coming up in the next couple of weeks. I'm going to introduce you to some interesting powerlifters it's phenomenal. I was looking at some videos today. I don't know how anyone can lift the amount of weight that they do not have their body just collapsed underneath them. I mean really I I don't know how they do it so preseason football games. It's not about powerlifting narrow, though. It is when they're off the field. Four preseason games. Are too. Many says the Commissioner Roger Goodell, he wants to reduce the preseason schedule. You know, right now, when the league in the player's associations have started. He's preliminary talks on a new collective bargaining agreement. He said, it's he wants the highest quality and he's saying preseason games, don't meet that level. He's right about that. They've talked about reducing the preseason schedule in exchange for expanding the regular season to maybe eighteen games but players, don't like that. Because they think safety, that's you know, they'd have to have additional money for playing a longer regular season. So I wouldn't be stunned, if they do come up with some kind of agreement where they add it least another regular season game. But then it does go to you got to pay everybody more because of the intensity of the game and this isn't a regular season what that would mean think of the injury. Amount of injuries that would possibly go up possibly go up. And then, of course, there's always conversations about rule changes and overtime rule changes and all of that. And then building new stadiums, like the bills trying to force.

"He is twelve and two and I don't think he'll, he'll be affective certainly was upset that being pulled and giving up the goals that he that he gave up a you know, some of those goals again, were deflected and he didn't have. He didn't have a chance on, on a few of those thought to the five lead in hit his own players and went in the other one a deflection by Berge around on the power play for the first goal a game. And I think that, you know, his attitude is, is indicative of the way Saint Louis has played also in the second half they obviously had to. Really find a way to win games in the second half of the season to get even a chance of making the playoffs. So this is a team led by their coach Craig Berube e that will tell them right afterwards. And I'm sure he's already said it forget about it. You know, we got we got kicked around the ice tonight. We didn't play well enough to do it. We'll play better in game two. We'll figure out tomorrow what we're going to have to do to get better, which the players know mostly anyway, but they'll come out in in in the next game. And, and they'll be a much better team. And I would expect Saint Louis listen game number four here in Saint Louis to be certainly much better than this one. Well they've come from behind to win series. The last two they trailed Dallas three games to two. They trailed San Jose two games to one. But on the other side, you have a Boston Bruins team that is now one nine of their last ten games. We've been flirting with danger here the whole series and it burnt us tonight. But in saying that we gotta do better job, killing them tonight. We didn't cause then that's why they wouldn't hockey game and a four power play goals in the victory seventy-two two final score and scanty mentioned the blues were in this situation in the west final. It went exactly the way this is gone so far lose game one on the road when a big game to come home. They lost game three to San Jose after that the Saint Louis blues beat the sharks three straight times, the win the west in six games and get to this Stanley Cup final and keep in mind, no report yet. But Bruins, defenceman, Charlie McEvoy when the game was pretty much ready decided did block a shot in the final minutes and did leave going underneath the tunnel. Boston's defenseman McEvoy. "They were playing in the best division league would Nashville with Winnipeg with Colorado. I mean this is the best team best division in the NHL Saint Louis playing in that division against of the best teams. Even a Chicago team that did make the playoffs but still on any given night can beat you and not only did they make the playoffs on the last day of the season because they played an afternoon game. In one it, they were in first place in the central division. Eventually Nashville, a Winnipeg won their games later in the day and took first and second. But the blues just didn't sneak in. I mean they almost won the best division in the NHL and turned it around in basically half the season. So played out. You never know what's going to happen and confidence is a huge thing too. When you play to win it builds confidence, not only in your players, but in the system in which you're playing and in your coach. The big at the best description. I've heard of Craig Berube -i that coach of the blues is he's an honest guy. Darren Pang told me that when he got the job. What do you like about? Craig Darren he's honest. So what does honest mean honest means he as his talent he, he honestly believes in his players? And so when they have comp. Sits in him. He has confidence. And then they begin to believe, and you can accomplish anything because really the difference between the worst team in the league in the best team ably is still very slim. I mean Ottawa was the worst team in the National Hockey League, but on any given night they can go into Tampa and give the lightning a run for their money. And a lot of cases that when you look at Ottawa schedule some of the teams today beat hey, look at the Rangers, the New.

"Can't find litter eight to shoot Middleton knocks it away. He's got the ball to on one Middleton to Lopez catches slams. Let's take the lead what a one one hundred Middleton force the turnover that tied to fifteen to play once bunks radio, they would score the final ten points of the game and beat Toronto. One eight one hundred raptors couldn't score. They missed their last ten or eleven shots in this game, maybe eight or nine whatever it was. But Lopez really stood tall thirteen points in the fourth quarter. He finishes with a career playoff, high of twenty nine and the bucks take game one. You honest and ten of coupon twenty four fourteen and six assists. Here's my boot, and Holzer. Lopez all over the second half the threes and the spread that he gives us. And then defensively I thought you know, we'll look at the table, I thought he was there several times in the fourth quarter. Making blogs making big time. Contest me up, and he says himself, he was encouraged to keep throwing that ball up. That's what my teammates have been telling me on Georgia. Specifically, then this guy to just stick in my mind just keeps shooting the ball, usually want to go down. Keep letting ally. He had a bunch go down. I here was Kyle Lowry. The interesting thing for Toronto. They lead thirty nine of the forty eight minutes of this game and yet losses. So we like that. You know we, we had a chance and we learned from for for a game. Number two, meantime, you got the warriors and blazers tonight game two of the Western Conference finals, and in the NHL, the Bruins will face the hurricanes tonight, Boston seeking the sweep last night, the sharks went up to one on the blues with a five four win in overtime. Eric Carlson, the game winner in overtime. A hand pass to a pass to the game winner. Here's blues head coach Craig Berube with the media, Craig. Do you think it was a hand pass? And did you get an explanation Nora explanation? What, what do you guys think? Been don't ask me. No reason us. Nothing. Nothing about here's, here's Carlson. He was credited with the game winner. So was it a hand passer wasn't it? We weren't playing handball where we still play hockey, I think show to win this game. But oh, that's fine. Kid, you just say, no comment. Yeah. The question should have been to him. What would have happened had that happened against you got? Right. You're right. I should have been the question. Like the Swedish chef from the Muppets. Married to pay into Hindi pace. Good. We weren't playing handball where we need to do to the flu. Kika debris. So anyways, it'd be interesting to see if the league comes out and says, anything others didn't they come back and kill the kings, and the right? Yeah. Sites. The Vegas called night. "The extra period. Five minutes in roughly, the sharks get an opportunity, there, crowding in front of Jordan bidding tin, and tvos, fire appears to hand the puck over to his well, it was next touch by gusts Nyquist, and then it to airi'q Carlson who scored the overtime goal. But it does certainly appear as though he passed it with his glove. And there was nothing to the ice should have been a dead deadball should have been no whistle blown and play stoppage. But none of the officials blew the whistle and even though it did touch Nyquist before it got to Carl's then it didn't appear to touch any of the blues and it should have been a stoppage of play. So it's here's the deal. Not reviewable. Everything in sports is review -able, these days, even non pass interference calls in the NFL or now review -able, but handballs in the NHL. Are not reviewable. And so the as you can imagine the reaction in the two different locker rooms was decidedly different after the game. Neither Craig Berube e or Peter Deboer really wanted to talk about it. Eric carlson. He he was a guy who at least he scored his second goal there, and overtime at least was willing to address it. While we weren't playing handball where we so we pay hockey. I think you know we up to win this game. And at the end of the day, I think that neither team. You know, do the shortest stick on any other calls out there. So it's a fair game. We weren't playing handball where we well know but team have you seen some of the headlines Marco balletti is here in studio? Now, some of the headlines like t MO Meyer handed a big win to Erik Carlson clever, very clever, not as clever as the eyes of Adam gates but pretty close. It's after hours here on CBS sports radio. I did hear some of the sharks say I don't care how we win the game as long as we win the game. So let's get. Anyway. So we asked Marco in studio because Marco and I used to do three shows a weekend together, and I miss him. And so we were, you know, kind of hearkening back to the olden days. Gosh, it wasn't that long ago. But it feels like it, doesn't it does a lifetime ago. Have you ever chipped or cracked a tooth is really what I want to know a little bit of my front tooth. Yeah. On my finger what? You get like a little piece of skin at the edge. I bit that. I was in college, I remember I was in a journalism class, the class, basically just started, and I bit like a little piece of skin and I felt like a crunch, and I was like, what I got off. I went into the I was like, oh, man, I chipped the tooth that said, I grabbed my stuff I went home. I was like you, kicked it tooth on a piece of sin. And that was the hangnail. What does that call when you have a, it's a, it's a cuticle? So you guess. Yeah. Initially on a piece of cuticle. Yeah. And I grabbed my stuff and I left because I, I was I was annoyed. And I was, you know, it didn't take much to get me out of class to leave in college. When you had long hair. I did have long hair at that time. That's probably why I'm just getting the hair. I mean cuticle might beat. So Chris recently cracked a tooth and had to have emergency dental surgery on an old crew Thanh. So he didn't bother to check how old the croutons were apparently they can bounce on the floor. So it's like biting into a rock and he bites into one and his his back tooth just cracks in half. Wow. Yeah. I've shifted to kind of, like you, I could feel it disintegrate. I chipped affront front to that had like a funny little angle of my friend who till I got shaved down on the end of a fourth time. So having to bite it like the very end of a more tiny know they can be pointed. That was, I'll never forget that sound like that. Sound of feeling that on your tooth, and just and chipping off the quarter of your to. I gotta say those make a little bit more sense than mine. Just doing it on skin. I don't think I ever admit that again. I didn't lose a lot of it. I never even fixed. There's nothing like you can't tell obviously can't which tooth was it? Oh. It's very, it's very, very slight, if you're not looking forward, you would never be able to see it. And even if you did look for you to guess you've lost a little bit. Like I didn't lose a whole shank of the tooth. I just lost a piece at the end. I was just annoyed. Because I did it on, you know. Did you stop chewing your nails in your fingernails and everything else? No. Absolutely not. No. No. All right. Well. I got very lessons. I don't do that all kinds of crazy stories though, about people who now some of them, let's be honest. They're not stories about when they were sober. But people, especially when they're little and they wrote a bike or stole someone's by like this one kid, stole his dad's bike and thought he could ride it and just ended up going over the handlebars than just awful stories that people are sharing with us. It's uplifting morning here on after hours. Sounds it. I'll give you one for my son. He was already he was a few months old. And we were hanging out. He was crawling. I mean obviously really small he's crawling and I'm like playing with him. And he's trying to crawl any kind of arms get caught up underneath him. And he falls all the time I was on carpet. You know, my little -partment with carpet, and he looks up at me and he starts crying, and I look, and there's just blood flowing out of his face. So I grabbed him I'm holding my chest. I mean my, my sweatshirt that I was wearing covered in blood, this is the first allow no seventy four heart attacks that I had in my life because it all happen to one shot. So I. I freaked out and then I can tell he had two teeth already because he got him in very early. And one on the bottom was shifted. So I lost it, and I'll mmediately call the doctor brought them in and the doctor was yelling at me 'cause he was kind of, like, are you. Okay. I'm like I'm fun. Tell me. He's good. I didn't break them already. I'm like he's only like three months old, or whatever five months. I don't remember the what five months. I don't remember the exact time line on the doctor kept saying he was like he'll be fine. He's like worst case scenario, gray out and fall out. And I'm like, what is going to gray and a what now? Sure enough. Sure enough, it happened he fell again. Whatever died, basically. Yeah, we noticed that in the first couple of dental visits. There were like, oh yeah, the tooth dead, but it's fine. And I'm like, what's it going into black? Nothing is going to happen. All of a sudden is tooth is bothering him about six months ago, and it was wiggling. So I took him to the dentist. And unfortunately, we had to give laughing gas and take the tooth out because it was starting to cause a little bit of damage in his gums. We're starting to basically cause an infection and they were like look, we could wait, but if it stays too long get it out. Get it out. I don't want to cause infection just like was it loose, it was loose. He just put like a string around it and slammed the door other string other into the string on a doorknob and just flamed, anywhere. I didn't really wanna mess with that. He was already started freak out. I mean, the only forty not supposed to lose teeth never mind one of the bottom teeth in the front now. He's the only kid in school in pre K with a missing tooth. He's missing his bottom to me. He's cool got street credit already. Yeah. He's supposed to lose it. I think they said to me, like seven years old. They're like the other one's going to be a while before it comes in. I'm like, all right. All right. I'm getting used to it. It isn't there. Oh, I like the fact that you freaked out. He was just fallen on carpet. I my mind and I kept saying to my points talking to me, and like, everybody again, because then they bust your chops when everything's okay? But they were like what were you doing? I was like I was playing we're playing Toby. Did we played I'm like what do you do? You pick them up. You know, pretend to slam them. He was having a good time. I never he never hit the ground, he hurt himself because his arms crumpled up underneath him. And he fell face forward three inches. He's carpet, what could happen. You go. All the new parents out there. You know, something can happen because something always happens when you least expect it when you were actually guarding against it. That's when they look like they're made out of Teflon. Everybody's like Marco getting fired up. Just telling the story again. I'm not kidding. You. I've I'm not one. You know, me, a long time now panic is not really in my blood. That's just not how I do things. I all state when I mean now Garrett him. No. Because I didn't I didn't start yelling or anything. It was just the, the fear was kind of almost where I was panicked, but I grabbed them, and I'm holding them close to me to try to get him to calm down. And when I looked down, and he started to not cry as much, but my shirt was covered. I mean, I'm not covered in blood, that I was like this is not right. Like pay fell three inches on carpet, something's wrong here for you to be bleeding that bed. What do I know about kids, never mind, whatever? Five month or whatever we was four. I lost it. The doctor kept said he was almost joke of news, like you want to quit lewd. I'm like, I'm good. I'm good. I keep telling me to tell him that story when he gets a little older. So he understands how you freaked out. We'll wait for a while. He's only four fell three inches on carpet. This is the kind of stuff that I miss when Marco balletti is not working on our show anymore. It's good to have you in here this morning. I'm good for useless info through trivia, he can tell you the starting off into live for the giants and like nineteen sixty two. Okay, fine. The starting lineup for the Yankees in nineteen seventy four. Yeah. We're we don't. I just I believe that you could eight five five two one two four seven and some of your crazy, chipped and cracked teeth stories. Oh my gosh. It's after hours CBS sports radio. Here's our latest sports update. He's back. Here's marco..
