"Dot com. And then send me. Oh god but we did. We did start the eight new challenge because we do really highly recommend people take a native themselves every single day for thirty days and to boost your own nudes just for you just for yourself and not just necessarily sexy news just news of your body of the bits that you don't normally look at the you avoid seeing so like a lot of mine was like spreading my asshole open right at the gang nudes of my anus being like okay. Well i went. I went in deep quite literally. Specula- mao yup. it's not even lunchtime. Yeah got light lunch to be honest just answering the question as well. I think if you trust the person that you are dating. I think it is like a fun activity to send a knee. There is trust but it doesn't have to be. You can send us to people that you've only met for a couple of sentences and obviously now in the uk sending out images sharing content. That isn't yours that you haven't given consent to share is illegal and you can get you can stop prosecution. You can get them prosecuted. Take them to court and royally so you should be able to. It's not even a shouldn't even be a question of trust it should be. You should be allowed to send naughty photos to someone and not fear that they're going to go anywhere else. It's not unu- and you're not bad person for wanting to send photos. It's on them. Revenge porn is really fucked up concept of blaming the person it's almost like oh it's revenge porn because they did something wrong in the beginning. They never did anything wrong. They only ever just wanted to enjoy themselves and to post what they should rightfully be able to. If somebody is sharing your content without consent day fucked up and they are the one in the. I think you can do it in a safe away as well. If i was going to send someone that i like didn't know that well by trusted i wouldn't put my face in like would be a bit more clever about why we're sending rather than just putting full-frontal like face everything you like and you do. The things like that expire instagram snapchat. Some screen then. You're on have a log life who has kept your news and yeah. They do the on field today on the dating field. Charlie no baby highly recommend. Yeah it's my favorite favorite. Just it's just such a nicer community. So much nicer. I've found any way as a white woman. I found but they can't do that on on. You can like timer like snapchat. Chat is that's long. Yeah yeah i always. I'm a bit wary of people who were like all right and have fourteen eventually. I find it very weird when boys by what should not do i look like that is suspects right because you can delete the messages you can like do the time. It just seems sauces. I well you've definitely gonna partner and you want something like discreet. something fucked. I don't like it now. Know about snapchat life to offer that shit. Charlie.

"Last bit. It's really important. What you say. Allstate week six weeks. Yeah however on that. Specific period of training fear might be six weeks. Eight weeks may even be ten. Wait probably would much longer on possibly a little bit longer for some people and a little bit. And i'm really cool to Tem the Means different things to different people definitely some running intensity out of control discomfort and intensity. Maybe you could hold for fifty to sixty minutes. In a reichstag A knee mike. Do that You straight to see some people might do a little warm up defeating twenty twenty five minutes of that intensity in an cool down. Some people like dade box have me you ten minutes twelve minutes ten minutes three by ten minutes. Whatever it doesn't really matter you dot is a place where you're still because it's quite dull and you'd have quite short recover race between those efforts you fundamentally Stressing your body's ability to work with oxygen will be cool kind of racy developing your right accessible. And the meyerson is is only six conduct exclusively a aerobically codified Event we use congregate stuck in energy systems. Abbadi years and listeners may have heard about different energy systems. Aerobic anaerobic oxidative lactic system and another kind of System the reality. Is you actually work. Luke's weird that he's at the same time you yep marathons when all you know unless you cut a gun straw nine when no against be stressing the body huge beyond that of arrive We've focused on on sessions that ready. What we take the speed that you've built weeks and weeks before maybe when you for five. K ten k job is to extend up speed as much as we can. Make morrison specific specifics. We can so it means definitely doing a bit of meyerson pace work. If you're a bit of a quick corona definitely doing some of that work intensity easily could hold fifty sixty minutes in a rice for some people. It's going to be some of these can be ten miles rarely athlete to talk cetera. Then if you will kind of really experienced jamais chuck into harder. Intervals is as well So you might pittance somewhere between five and ten k. pass. But what i would say with. That is really important to remember what we're trying to get. Your body not is working to energy system working with stored fats like absentee primarily rework. And not too long sustainable longer sustained deficit. That may be around marathon pace or a little bit quicker tomorrow from pace but when no absolutely buttering you received harding into china and every once in a while it can still be looking to remind you come on quick and but should have slower meyerson pace a stumbling session. Maybe not doesn't really mean huge amount right so if you if you see a training plan and it says you look into five new four and hall side of our friend and it tells you to go out and run that run. We talked about economy includes full by fifteen minutes tomorrow from pay. She may be thinking arson prices. Just pice i run dot bus Easy to steady running pace and so he does what you start to go. Well actually i need a slight. Didn't try and find. I need things to do. Different things and instead of focusing on pace on fixing varying effort and are still kind of to include some holiday efforts in my training. Because that's what he's going to help me get quicker but it might be that they all these kind of lately. Long kind of sustained blocks of work that may be a quick They might be starting to include a few to efforts because my fitness is still developing. That's what i'm up to individual. So would you say actually think he is like the so many books in podcast papers on this into be even more different paces they used to be. They used to be like three paces like we said nelson says like seven. Eight ten paces. Which is ludicrous sort of meaningless. Would you say perhaps we have people who slightly running slower than there is almost like a two paces easier austa whereas with making the foster runners we do separate a bit more because we can saying that though i feel now as i've gotten older and my paces paces a pretty much. They're no merging together. You know why. Half as ray similar Game face yeah. I think there's a big case to say is also as coaches of the complicated. I'm actually the one thing i can. Of course the core fitness fee running a marathon. She discovered running majority of your time on fake comfortable bennett and actually for the majority of people he may not need to do. Interval china has a shocking thing to say. But you know may not work for whatever raised. Actually your if you stay consistent if you build a regular apartment a good frequency of training you will get sick to his continuing to stress the body little bit beyond your career pasta and that will happen because you extending along run a little bit or maybe running a different surfaces whatever. There are lots of ways about fitness as coaches. We like to sometimes. We looked at things. Great coaching in New coach by a great coach. Holly a great coach is able to take what he's quite Something complicated which is the human body is a complex system People emotions are huge. Too complicated and distill it into really simple to understand Prices to make us say for me. And actually if you really into the ditch and stuff you can read a Scientists like Stephen cider he distills training down into into just three g you have. You know the middle and you have all e-e-exactly him actually laws it. yeah yeah i'm hastings. We'll be that you kind of. Maybe we have a tendency to enjoy made larry or a little bit and maybe we wanna pay rise things anything i would say with that. Is that for a very good athlete. Actually made a lease way. You end up running marathons as a baby by a matter for twenty but for most of us. We can't simply we conquer tactics. And there's a lot of A lot of guilty of this a lot of. Es times that we we use in terms of terminology that massively describe the complicates if you just stink Easy a moderate. I'm hard as very halt. Try the reality is for the majority mars training. You probably won't be easy area. You know you might step up to woods of motor area. Sometimes you wanna you wanna smattering of decline of you. Know hard to stop. And you probably don't want to be rinsing yourself with or without really hot stuff too often covering type less. Allow yourself enough.

"An stone and it was written down on that plan i had to do. It will not day thought week and if it didn't do it then it was just off left. And i think that's you'd always depends on athlete working at so whether you should i think like you saying i think is what makes like you said a ladda and in that ladder. You have the wrongs. And then you put in those key sessions that you approximate and then you move around a little bit like slater and i said it's whether you you know the ashley all notice a person with you should be doing that. Such an hour we do. Is we get to. Yeah and knowing yourself. Because i think no probably most people listening not necessarily going to be working with coach. Necessarily nobody thought. I would say everybody is welcome to yourself coaching. If you can get your head around the fact that if you if you don't let him with coach even if you'll follow training plan out the bag out of the back of a magazine Penalty says is as Holly i'm sure like you know what i would say is you still have to be Still have to be honorable to somebody and a dog. You actually the times when the very best thing you can do is be self coached because you are ultimately answerable to yourself you have to take. It is more difficult than being onto somebody else because we d other aspects obsession warri self judgment. All that stuff comes in to when you call if annual hall of hearts probably should have a life today tomorrow or this were being in the pan so the last four weeks tarring I'm exhausted. I know it's not gonna go roy. You wind up You end up doing any anyway because you are beholden. Pack as opposed to sort of being beholden to yourself isn't as a coach. We're gonna guy right is is coaching is about you. Have that sent to the journey. You have a view sketched out. Add but coaching for me was the next logical step. The next logical step might be a week ahead in might be tomorrow might just be. You know what's happening tomorrow and being ready responsive like that. He's more than likely the way that you will get. You mentioned this before consistency about everything else and where we end up breaking either kind of leasing mehta vacation or picking up a nickel or a cold whatever is when we tried to force our kind of or the into around hollow vice versa because we if we feel that we should be doing something whereas decimal held body does not help bodies work is not how minds were. Can i think you reading coverage if you wanna be consistent probably a final flexible you want an animal you respond to how you feel on a day by day basis the more you'll find it easy. It's been to be consistent in a weird way. Because i think most people go down to be consistent. Why don't you. sometimes it's the opposite. He definitely have a sense of direction. But the real detail you need to be flexible with It's not make sense so let's get down to specifics like you said we could be more math Specific now according to that goal may be you know what should we be doing some speedwagon. The we should be concentrating on our long. Ron how how should we progress with as well and we should be doing marathon pay staff and should we be doing ten powell threshold. Or whatever terminology we wanna. Yes yes has. Lloyd does lay two different times out. Arizona's slightly different types types of ron. And i think the danger is that if you the most important to keeping Is the the meyerson is long way on earth twenty six point teams and certainly not lost as we talk about a specific period of trading lost. You I ten weeks so sorry. You training needs to be getting you ready to tackle that long distance and not as mentally dan. You kind of accustomed to fulltime state. It's a developing the components affect you twit. So getting you ready good. I'm ready economical intensive. How you use cut a few So ben stored fat. And how you buddy the the few behind fates in the stuff you tied cone iran etc etc. The training needs to be be ready kind of reflect. What the mountains about. So you know we all run different amounts and it may be people listening here and you get a chance to win two or three times a week and maybe people listening he run i Upwards yeah everyday some of them will run twice a day anyone so clearly you know the more you run a normal volume have in you. Having a week you probably have more capacity to do a different variety of things Definitely for more experienced athletes and sometimes quick harass late you will probably see might not be be crammed into one week and probably most in an as an mp spread davis slightly cycle. You might be weeks or twelve is whatever however you start training the you might see some interval training An entity marcy. Some some quite hard efforts run between two three four minutes loan. Five minutes long running know between five and ten k. type intensity if if you're an experienced athlete i would definitely say be mixing in a little bit emerson pace And full for somebody. Who's looking to run pretty quickly emerson three hours to Meyerson concealed talks comfy halt Easy session meyerson isn't easy and not need to will respect so when you're trying to think about what am i trying to get into my training week. What should i put it in my training week. I'd say no only think about what you're trying to develop but also think about how much recovery you need around that because if you're going to go from let's pick plucking someone out there saying this is what everybody should Let's say you're going to run two hours two hours fifteen minutes and you're gonna include some blocks of marathan pace in. Let's say you're to include a full by fifteen minutes and morrison pice something for quick run a tough session. Yeah about is going to need. Respect him in terms of recovery so he might not be doing another hud session for another t sweet as sometimes depending on who you are so you can see you when you start to get like that. You can't fit every day. So exactly their decision making competency. What is what do you as an individual runner need to call the most whilst also reflecting on the fact the marathon still twenty six miles. Another seven for looked with mark. Tiffany for most people take a quick kuranda pace can be very useful not lost period of training. I tend to not do nights and lights and lights because there forgive confidential logically reasons if you do it all year round it can be quite blunting your fitness development but definitely not.

Five minutes two hours two twenty six miles Tiffany today three hours Meyerson Ron one week ten weeks weeks twelve five slater meyerson Lloyd seven emerson Holly

"Else going to disney world. Yes i sort of basically. I think i love sports. I wasn't one of those people that hate. it's not sports is just terrible. I mean just very polar. It might didn't involved in iffy thing but it just wasn't very good at it and i was very self called. Jesse was a white cage. Very self conscious about that and then Off to think about think within a year year and a hall of all of taking running into kind of meetings coaching. I started working full A an organization coast votes My job today was to sort of organize Projects to help conscious across different Sort of pretty what they Training education cpu dot salt stuff see what was increasingly getting involved in chi-ching cassette what style. Many of my brother electra. Mma parents by teachers are never wants to be a teacher because his fla to matata. Heck so i am. I kinda fell into our space in a way But he was not palm pilot just following a passion barely and i a combined with not really enjoying dan for works really interesting. I didn't know as i do actually know you and i didn't know that's how quickly go into coaching through. Matchy running yourself. I remember that you felt like you always like class sponge. And you always talking to different coaches and spending time with the coaches. In which i think's just as important as well is actually doing all your qualifications is now. She's into people and getting that knowledge. Yeah anything like strangely are sometimes stem out of out. Difficult situation so the running club. The heart i had joined in london did it did have a coach but the coach accessible to the to the club and i think thinking they were they were paying him and say the club had no was recently club. I think time between three and four hundred members but when there was nobody from within the club actually doing any coaching so why are qualified as a coach. Not intention of doing it for career told it was with an intention of just wanna tearing could getting involved now remember having qualified You know the first first time. I was going out kind of doing sessional coaching and stress my sympathy about. I think it's funny to think back. Like i would spend days day. Can you have a plan list roy. In what am. I trying to deal with a session ways it going and you know it's funny the knowledge that idiots becomes you much more Sort of intuitive. But you you just talk more naturalistic of ways making decisions whereas than a really plan planned. Anything was really struck to so worried about letting people down all over leaving people. Todd people hate in sessional and never coming back. And i think a lot of the improvement came from the fact that i was tend to the deep end and because i always very aware i had no background really as an athlete to fall back on so i couldn't kinda guy. Well this is what. Let me say this theory. That i hadn't already had mental research. I haven't had a coach muscles as such hugh hud guided development. A had to read a hud speak to other coaches and had to be been minded about the best way today things in either the as of public a lot of imposter syndrome and kind of insecurity about having been an elite athlete south because now i like they raised coaching. But you can't change that you can't change your background. Didn't have that talent and i certainly didn't have the mental capacity d- You you like you do coach some beginners and you've gone onto coach some really amazing athletes two gb vests and and a big competition. So why how. Why do you think that you have been successful if you think that you had the impostor syndrome. What's been your secret. Then or in a way i think is not light. You've yeah. they still controlled not they have. I mean certainly like when. I need into commercial coaching. Which really do so much now. Nyc for payment of of my life. Coaching was really paul. How i leaving then like that will definitely put my hand up to say. I kind of did stand up inclined to make a big play about my coaching in order to generate business. Embarrassed thinking back about that now. Ready but volume dodge either. The daily came over no luck. I've never canvassed saddam. And i think always think probably dot dot the happened specifically because i feel have insecure about my coaching Times and i think i have many many failings as a coach anas pederson. But i've seen one thing dot stink. Leon shuttled perfecting and trying to kinda guy you. This is what. I don't get this wake. They is well. I feel like calling on getting complacent or this is where i've made a mistake. And sometimes i saw that. I can always stinks. Stinks the dots Maybe maybe i would have always thought even if i being an elite athlete but i think maybe be more pronounced. Because i haven't say what it's meant is hud to govern sponge knowledge and and once you start sponge up for different coaches different ways of doing things you realize that will low two different ways to do things like subtype marathon training like be have a drooled philosophy to believe in the how you applied philosophy. Say different for different athletes. A and that's probably become. That stemmed out with mike Development is had to be really like abroad. Just join up. As much information as i plus become from a range of different sources of how does she insists some of really positive some positive and i think you and i know it's working with athletes and you kinda go listen to them and you can like you have this crafted Plan in your mind and then the race happens and things go wrong entered. It happens but when that happens. I think i tend to be pretty hard on myself Kind of rainy. Try to work out. Why and what. I would do differently next time. And it makes me think in any way saying on some sort of a brady client. If morally right person. I just called on. I don't to be successful and in order to.

"Too much talking about me you've been doing. I'm just been. I had earlier. But i just been working every hour. God sends partly my fault because it just is so. Hopefully that will end at some point. And say i have booked we booked holiday at that may sound completely nuts. Everyone but it's not as extravagant. As as everyone. I think got she just booked a company for illegals were among the comeback. Because actually we really get find. At some point nashville. Actually probably just try it. Actually we might hate her. And pete's like not really small so i'm wondering how it's going to work with us and the dog in a van but anyway booked van and also looking if you didn't if you're looking anything this is in the uk by the way everything is just really expect stuff that we've been looking at last year that we've looked at now is twice the price and things are completely booked. Up is gone completely nuts which is great for the uk. But it's really difficult to plan or you find managed to find a campsite in the uk point. So that's what we did. We also booked van. And then i was like oh hang on a minute. We need to put the campsite. And we're going for specific weekends almost piece birth in an of course i've looked at the campsite. And they're saying that either booked all works having kings or no. They're all having to honor their bookings from last year and had thought that dr. I know we'll just have to park little car park or something and do something but anyway we've done that. So got something a little glimmer of hope to look forward to and i've been doing in podcasting and have to apologize at she to the listeners of all podcasts that i even i feel has been slight overkill of the podcasting. I think i had three podcasts out. Last week no full and i'm sick of myself so i'm sure you all are as well so apologies so i've decided i'm not gonna do many more after this because it's just a bit you don't wanna listen to need questions they i don't know because i have you been on. One spread myself wondering why don't i hated. I hate that they've done. I've done that. But i what happened. And then i didn't run as we're gonna come on in week. Say social media hall. They go so any people listening to you but there is a really important thing. Don't you set up in working too much and ask horrible horrible though so often so often we can be a bit like that running to and i'm maybe i'm guilty of that in not knowing when to say no. Sometimes you know in terms of going around or taking on some work or things like that especially in the current climate where you know if you're a freelance worker. All that stuff you think. I'd better take just in case nothing else comes along for the next twenty years there. Is there glad daddy holiday. I hope you get to go away. The countdown on my house. We are giving away copies of running in the mid pack. We're running a competition on social media too and just reminded me. I've got a copied to send out actually because we did have a winner for last week but on our social media can't what we decided to do is give away a copy of moving in the mid pack to somebody who you think would deserve it so instead of putting your hand up and going me pick me. Pick me a copy. What you've got to do is go to nominate somebody else. And then we'll send them a copy and we're right your message in it just because we thought that was a nice way of sharing the love so keep an eye on and talk social media if you'd like to gift a copy of running in the mid pack of somebody else than you need to tell us who and why and then we'll look and we'll We'll send a copy to one of those nominees. You can get twenty five percents off though if you order. Direct from bloomsbury the publisher at bloomberg dot com forward slash mid pack and use the code mid pack. Twenty five to five all one word that will give you twenty. Five percent of the idea of the book is to try and help runners be happier healthier. Bit more success for to value their achievements to acknowledge their efforts to nourish their running cultivate progress and bring some real joy to the running that do so problem to bloomsbury. If you fancy a copy. I think we were like in something partially rely. Quite high in their amazon rankings for running my pin number one or number two for what but that might even still be the case. I think that copies that look at that. If you do buy on amazon. I mean there are independent bookshops of course and the publisher to get it directly through. But if you do get on amazon. Love anyone to leave a review. I mean i'm guessing. I'm hoping it might be positive but please be honest. Let's been loss of our pitches and people are on. Its but loads of people with that books needs to and talking you. An angie's oh yes really popular. Good talking about Rankings though i was sent something in the week kate was actually a screen shot of the podcast apple charts and guess what bought we lost week. Were number one on the apple. Podcasts we in the uk for running. Oh yes one. And that's how four hundred. Podcasts is a lot of podcast. Sarah of all the podcasts. That go out in the uk every other wednesday. This start with the letter m. Super cool and i need to combat and every week but apparently it was quite a cool thing and out. Four hundred number one. Thank you everyone listening. Thank you very much say lets you. Let's go on some what caught our eye in the running world this week and actually quite excitingly. There has been some running. I don't know if you watch this. Did you watch this martin. The monaco five k. But your term you be. I did actually read the on fast running largely. Because i was interested in what what the record would be so i did see the headline beatrice coach running a new five k. World record. I thought quash wonder what they've run and wonder what we've run. Oh yeah fourteen. Forty actually to be fair. I just watched its day. I didn't watch it. Live and the the best thing i'd say about the whole running a tree was set kyle and paula radcliffe commenting on it. And i think it wasn't their fault but they didn't have the camera on coach quite a long time especially the last bit and they had it on another athlete he was coming in and then they didn't pan the camera on chip coach until the very last minute she came into the line and they were very enthusiastic and then they went. Oh oh actually that's a world records so it was a little bit lacklustre but that was mainly because the filming anyway so cutthroat finish a time of forty three beat the former world record by one second. I mean not timing coming out strong. Indoor campaign machine is two times on the page of the world tour indoor and she set a new personal best three thousand on a sunday and it was beautiful day but it was really quite windy. Which was even more impressive. She had a pacemaker. All the way luke mass and she said. I'm so happy even though there was a lot of wind manager ron wyden pace in the end. My pacemaker told me we can do it. let's push..

"On this week show. I speak to england. National marathon lead. Tom craig's about training and his coaching philosophy. Martin andy's book running in the mid pack. How strong successful. A happy runner is out now. There's a new women's five k world record on the road a new women's park run record london. Marathon announced the ballot results. Nora mueller is the british fifteen hundred meter indoor record training talk gives you all info about your running injuries martin. A bit is that word man. Isn't it feels like a lock down word and not wishing to kick this. This biweekly american. Talk show off negativity. But i am definitely feeling a bit there and i think that there is a combination of february and february february is a combination of february rain. Yeah lockdown injury. Lethargy and just general frustration blake in your league is a great word yes bleak is a really good word. There are so many things that are positive that we're seeing the moment on their. They're a brilliant. We're talk about some of these later on in the show. Some fantastic new things happening in running particularly around new records up just personally for me. My running is at in a bit of a slump. I don't seem to have much time. Because we're home schooling three children but it's now half term but that kind of all in a be coagulated glue p- of same notice we've rolled into half-term. The kids go into bed by midnight. Getting up and running around with nine still. My house is kind of just turned into lord of the flies over the last six weeks properly farrell. Yes so feel like a dog which is made like wanna poppy. Which is probably major. And he is the best behaved thing. In the heck's even liz two-time olympian cloud games medallist is the naughtiest commonwealth games. Medallist i know Identify what that what's happened lockdown. But her yeah so pink. I because our denver's talk shows limping going to talk a little bit. Running into later i tell be taken. He some advice coming from the plaza. That doesn't do anything she says to do anyway. Often harp on about this and we will. We will hop on a little bit more in the show later on in training talk. I said february about five times the beginning of show and typically. I don't like february like is one of those month where one of those months where i need to turn my sad lamp to to double double blast. It'll be january because february valentine's day. Which clearly you smothered less with flowers and chocolates etc go pancake. Day did do the whole valentine's day thing this year i did. I'm typically not a valentine's day enthusiasts right. What did you day card audits and flowers to be delivered in the morning every brownie. Yeah really good. Yes winner actually because it worked out right dislike having really not the co wealth games medallist. I've ever met she hooting other flowers. That's all right. I have been you think. It's a combination of february lockdown. Lethargy lethargy and limping so for a couple of months now my left calf has been troubling me. And i've not well. It's an odd one. Because i've been listening to it and i've been running very slowly not very often but still been running and it'll be like what did you see anyone a physio or anyone could know. Narcan can't get no. I haven't i do know tim is a really good physio but he was really busy on. That is our project. I didn't want to pressure him. Tony massoni me grumbling about sore cough and it kind of gets worse. And then i'll fill nothing and it's like oh great. There's nothing zero no pain whatsoever and i can. Do you know six miles feeding quite comfortable. And then you know i can it release strange carve pain because one day it's nothing and then the next day is there you know so it's like Anyway other than that. I've been staying in staying in staying in and staying in we all. He's one of the things about having a little injuries. That normally i would like load up my day. Well gaffer run in the morning. And i do a session or do a harder a comeback kind of feel generally good about doing it and tired and it sets me up and now i'm like what is possibly the millionaire shortbread. That's problem is net. Let's say i was saying that. She looked presenting. It's the best time to be injured processing. Look down as she may be worse. Because i couldn't even congress. "Hello and welcome to south beach sessions. I'm dan lebatardshow. If you've been listening to us for fifteen years or so you were listening. Live on air as we came to terms with the idea that the internet was taking overtaking journalism over and it started with deadspin doing journalism a little bit differently than it had been done taking away some of the shine from newspaper reporters in a way that was interesting and so we decided as we've seen the deadspin has basically been gutted in spirit and gutted in spirit in a way that is impossible to miss when you look at the people who left deadspin because they weren't down with the idea of corporate management coming over and taking the deadspin name and turning it into something that was more corporate than the initial idea. We had drew mcgarry. Tommy crags two of the really strong original voices on deadspin together on a conversation that we wanted to have about just that time in journalism at deadspin and everything. That's happened at deadspin. Since then they're very smart people drew. I love when he writes angry. Tommy i love when he writes at all here. Is that conversation reminiscing about a different time and different deadspin. so tommy. What would you say was the best time at deadspin. The time that you were having the most fun the time that you got the electricity of like. Oh we're doing some pioneering stuff around here. Well i guess. I would say it was you know. Probably the period between the brett farr post when aged alario still editor span and maybe around the time of the anti tayo post which were like i think in in my mind. They're like kinda need I don't wanna book ins. But i think that was when the site kind of grew explosively and in I think a lot of really interesting ways and those two stories. I think represents well represent the things. Deadspin did really well and said a lot about even beyond the stories themselves. Anti tales stories sent something about sports media. That i think that's been built to say in a lot of different ways drew. How did you guys know that you are occupying a space. They're like between journalism doing journalism testing the boundaries of journalism. Doing some some dirty stuff. Because the brett farve stuff was a place that previous journalistic entities wouldn't dare to go it It was just too dirty. It was too dangerous and you guys love taking a bat to some of the myths. Remember that before. I wrote in a red did spin like i read about deadspin in sports illustrated in two thousand and five or two thousand six. There was a pitcher of leech like hunched over a lap. Like back in the days. Where like like bloggers were like the strange mysterious entity in the you should show like an a silhouette like they were testifying against a child molesters and and and i and i was like the site sounds interesting and then i i got their start reading it and i read some from the money and j. d. about how she paul. Maguire was as a color commentator. And i'm like these. Are my people like other way. My whole life to stumble onto site like this is all. I think it was bitch about mcguire because he sucked so i was very very very excited. Importing freedom for you to have journalistically to the paul maguire sucked and be able to shout from the mountaintops like great like fresh on news. Talk that chuck team. This team is tough. So you guys. Were you guys what you did to the media. Though people weren't doing that you're giving a voice to the fans mocking the media. Like that was such a sweet spot for you guys. Tommy like you guys did some real cutting of espn of anything. That felt like mainstream media. Yeah i mean..

"Coming up to me saying when when is this going to occur? Cragg gotta get going. I gotta get going. I will do it. Your new Jack. Right. Jackie you're pro in the TV world. Yeah. They give you a word to the wise in radio. If you don't do it yourself. It never gets done. All right. Well, then I read up take I will take the the the flag, and I will start waving shoots the Marcus the mucketty mucks mock Wanema. The bay. Done. All right. Well, I'm going to do it. I mean, this is going to be cool though. So we'll do it in at stage seventeen and we will have how will we do it? We will have people come in. Come to laze key with you. Let's face it. It doesn't matter if Trumpers or the, hey char. I mean, they could sing sing rage against machines to them, and they can sing love songs. Back to me. All your on. Would you do something? Of course. I did your birthday. Don't do. Remember that? Yes. I do. As. That's never saying. But the crowd was demanding that I join you, and I did a relatively good job used to be a choirboy. Well, I could see that lilting. I wore red as quiet. Why? How long that lasted only two years because my voice, correct? Well, and and got deepen there are a lot of other things that you can sing change. So we are going to do this. I will get on top of this. I'll talk to Leslie slender, and we'll start working things out. But we will invite our listeners to come in and be a part of this award the best performance. Now. I, of course, have to exclude myself from that just because of course, I will win naturally. But I wanna listen a little story as you know, last week. I attended shitty. Harvard annual ball Kayla. Great organization you wear. This. Did you? Yeah. I didn't win the penguin shoot. That they wanted me to. My brain my red chatting jacket, and she did. But it's great 'cause because it feeds the poor the ended. Yes, with leftover food from any of the top flight, restaurants and food is shabby mention new, and so they were bidding on this karaoke place, a Korean place, and it would be a lot of money. And then all of a sudden, they call up chef who said and by the way, I'll make treats afterwards, you know, all kinds of detaining even more money. And then a guy said they'll be a key guy said a Kia cocaine. A key caviar caviar. And then he talked about all I forget him magnum magma blinkers, and there will be and then find you, and I want my friend nudge to come up here. Not just like the number two rapper all time in the city second only to Jay z, and it was. And nobody bid on that for the whole night of karaoke people probably felt like the they didn't want him to be the star. This was their private party. They don't want some do showing up on your show. The guy with age. So they was sugar and they were with their. Women. Screaming we love you. We love you. And I could see the look on these wash v. White guy's face. I know bidding. The whole night. But anyway, that's just a side ball because what I do best is monitor criminal court. That's my favorite sport. And I really big case began yesterday in the Bronx f two months pretrial hearings jury selection, fourteen Trenitalia lls, it's Dominican gang treacherous gang on trial for the killing the murder of junior goose mine fifteen year old boy on one hundred eighty third and Bathgate not fall from author avenue in Belmont. The Italian section so many people have gone to go up in and as the video which was played over and over show. He ran into the Bodega seeking sanctuary the trinity Totta ios thinking that he was a member of a different sect of the group that they were at war with when behind the counter drag them out nobody in the Bodega him, literally like, a pack of animals, like a pack of savvy. Ages and then pull them Chetty shout machetes and just started cutting them up. He was a block away Bach and a half away from Barnabus hospitals. He struggled to get there. And he died like on the steps of Saint Barnabus hospital naturally the whole country was in an uproar it went viral NYPD, which headed nor the existence of Trinidadian before that all of a sudden had a snap to it. And they made fourteen arrests now five or on trial. Now, they want to actually did the killing they were allegedly part of the low Sudas set of the area. There's different little as within gangs have different side. Call them at times this feeding with one another. So the five who actually did the killing are on trial. I have nine co conspirators coming up in about another month who didn't actually do anything physical. But it's almost like a Rico case, you know, they had knowledge of it do anything to stop it. Right. So they fourteen Trinita ios now I've had the guardian. Angels escorting the goes men family and friends and support is to and from the court in in a box one hundred sixty four months because these Trenitalia they win colors gang signs. They got their beads talking in Spanish threats against the family. They posted threats on YouTube the family have suffered so much to see their son or fifteen year old son be chopped up by a pack of animals, and they're they're threatening the family. This is what happened yesterday. You can go to Curtis. And she older pictures of us with the family family members. They memorialize Junie goes on the fifteen year old who was savagely killed his pictures on like sweatshirt, right? That's that's that often happened to all murder. In court and actually angels wearing red chat teen check it red berets. So Joe JR. Before the opening remarks of defense and prosecution announces that I the family must take off the shirts. Memorializing Junie Cousteau. Why what was the logic? I'll give it to you in a second. Then he turns guardian angel lead to eat Q and says all the guardian angels have to take your colors off your colors right guardian angel college right? And that's really the request is why we've been here for months protecting serving the community didn't cause problem to family has, you know, attack Trenitalia rose. The trinitaria have been mad dog in them. Fornicated them threatening them, stalking them Lord. Well, guess what? The judge said, quote, the defense attorney said that the trinitaria is are upset and it's affecting defense. Oh. Little animals are upset because of over what? So feel threatened by the by the family members of a slaughtered child or the guardian angels. Who are so that's pathetic called me during the break. I sit on take colors off. This is what they're trying to tar heels want. They don't want you around and they wanna get under the skin of the family, even more. They wanna psychologically sorta let him though. Yeah. The judge on us shied. Then in the opening remarks one of the defense attorneys says let me tell you something. It's juniors fault that he was killed because he said something that led the gang to believe that he was a member of the different set. Oh, really? Oh. That makes it. Okay. That makes it okay that he was killed because he he somehow introduced himself mistakenly as a gang member. So, but there's no evidence of that. Right. Then another defense attorney says, hey, look, you got to understand this attack took place because of the precious Cango life, the Trinite Tiro stay beat their own. If you didn't do what was required for you to do as a trinitaria you paid for it dearly. So they're pressured into this. They must do it or they will die. They must murder somebody savagely, right? I mean, it's not like years going to shoot the you're gonna averagely murder him torture him. And then defense attorney says look my client had a machete. There's no doubt. He's on the video. He's hitting junior. But if you look closer now show this trial, he turned them as Shetty around. So that he was hitting junior with the Blunk side of the machete to hurt him not to hurt him because the blunt side in the machete. I I would imagine what metal who's into a skull pounding into your fifteen-year-olds flesh. That's not going to do any. Damage. This is the Bronx disgusting gang schedule this, and if you have to be a crime fighter whether a cop or guardian angel family member of a of the victim, you're on the outside looking in numbers. One eight hundred eight.
