Dwayne The Rock Johnson is Buying an Entire Football League
"For many of us, Monday nights sieve Longman, Monday, night football. So today's a good day to consider a shakeup in the football world. The potential revival of a would be competitor to the National Football League last week actor and former pro wrestler Dwayne the Rock Johnson with other investors bought a start-up Football League called the xfl this take some explanation especially to those who aren't avid sports fans. Let's start with the xfl contrary to popular belief. The NFL doesn't football is just had a monopoly for the most part for so long that most. Most people consider it an institution for the last couple of decades though rivals have attempted to build new leagues to compete with the. NFL. The XFL is one of those its roots began way back in the year two, thousand when World Wrestling Federation chairman. Vince. McMahon decided to build a league that could compete with the NFL NBC Cohen the League and planned to carry its games the XFL plan to extend the football season by playing games from just after the Super Bowl in February. Until late April. Now, at the time league owners, hopes were high that the Saturday night games could Wu and elusive audience TV. Teenage boys according to CNN. Vince McMahon. WWF had been almost magical in its ability to appeal to twelve to twenty four year. Old Males who typically don't stay home watching TV on Saturday nights. The xfl hoped McMahon could bring that WWF formula to football and win that desirable TV audience, and for one brief moment, it looked like their hopes were within reach the first game in two thousand, one drew more than fifteen million viewers a massive audience. That gold ring looked close and yet it turned out to be so far away as the season wore on audiences spell like a botched handoff after that single season, the xfl shutdown. Sometimes in life timing really is everything, and so it goes for Vince McMahon who decided that twenty twenty would be the right time to revive the xfl it launched in February, pitching the Seattle dragons against the DC defenders teams played five games among both players and owners. Optimism rained TV audiences varied by geography, but were decent enough that by March believe was well into planning the twenty twenty, one season. And then Kobe came along the League canceled the season March twentieth less than a month. Later, the XFL filed for bankruptcy sports writers added the xfl lists of other WanNa, NFL competitors who'd also tried to make a go of it over the years. The XFL seemed to be just another failed startup, but perhaps they declared the league's death too soon. Let's get back to Dwayne Johnson better known as the Rock Johnson actually started his career as a football player, but never made it to the NFL instead, he joined Vince McMahon's wwf where he quickly rose to superstardom before retiring to become an actor, he's now the highest paid actor in the world according to Forbes. With his business partner Danny Garcia who also happens to be his ex wife, the rock led the fifteen million dollar purchase of the. xfl. Out of Bankruptcy Sports Management Company redbird capital as a third partner. Johnson says the purchase was actually Garcia's idea she loves football and when the XFL declared bankruptcy, she saw their chance to own not just a team but an entire league not to get too grand about this. Consider that the salary of a single NFL football star say. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak. Prescott is thirty, one million dollars. That's more than double what the partners paid for the xfl which has eight teams. Still, the deal made headlines. Perhaps it's a bit of hopeful light entertainment amidst the onslaught of grim. News in two thousand, twenty, Garcia. Johnson. Say They plan to produce multimedia content for fans year round, not just during the active spring season at production time, they hadn't yet said when the League will start to play again.

"I mean, maybe now eight, hundred, fifty, one opportunities but you get the idea that's a lot of opportunities for blade. Johnson. And I, feel like. We started this conversation I started this conversation from the perspective of most underrated player whatever I think I want to shift that to player that we're not talking about that can make the largest level of impact, right? Like like player who can make the biggest dent you know how like when you were a kid and you would be at the pool and you would. have. The largest cannonball splash whatever like blake, Darwin has the potential to the largest splash because he's inheriting the largest. From a percentage standpoint, then you can make a similar case for city lamb certainly replacing Randall Cobb and look I'm pumped about city lamb I, don't mean this at all as a demerit or a knock on his game individually. But I think and I think you agree that the gap between two thousand and Twenty Blake Darwin and two, thousand, nine, hundred and Jason Witten is a larger than the gap between two thousand and twenty CD lamb and two, thousand, nine, hundred and Randall Cobb. That's the difference here is that the floor that we're operating with in terms of getting more out of the bigger cannonball splash is much much much higher at that third respond because Randall Cobb was a very serviceable player. Last year for the Dallas cowboys I mean he was knocking on thousand yards. Himself obviously didn't even get to nine hundred but he was very very, very useful which you really cannot say for Jason witten again, all due respect goal jacket with future hall of Famer, etc. Etcetera Etcetera. But the reality is that we are not maybe talking about is not the right way to put it. I know I'm kind of adjusting amending things as we go along here but we are not giving I think enough do enough credit or enough thought to the factor that Blake? Darwin can play because I don't think Blake trial one has to come in and be this beast monster of Titan but if he is mildly If he is remotely useful. Then this dramatically shifts with the cows able to do offensively. Because again, we're talking about a team that we want to see operate out of eleven personnel way more often than not. So again, if play Darwin is we'll call it thirty percent better than Jason Wooden was last year I want to be clear I think Jason wouldn't was kind of an average tight end. So to thirty percent better than that is to be a top ten guy ish. And I think maybe that's blades Darwin ceiling in two thousand twenty certainly helps them that there are so many other targets on the field, etc etc. The domino effect of that. But if Blake jarring can be that now you're operating and again I hate this phrase to year cooking with gas but you've got Mike Cooper Michael Gallup CD Lamb Blake's Darwin Zeke. Elliott. That offensive line and then a quarterback that many of us believe is very good on his own out of his own merits. Let alone when put in an offense that is surrounded by playmakers, weapons, etc etc etc.. So, I think we're not given Blake Darwin enough. Legitimacy maybe maybe that's one on on. And I put it this way when I was talking to Kevin and Chris. Fan? If you were going pretend you didn't own any cowboys jerseys 'cause I know you and you've got a lot but pretend you didn't own a single cowboys Jersey right. And you had to get one of the often starters jerseys. All right. Somebody who is an offensive starter for the cowboys when they are in eleven personnel. In, let's say that you were getting this Jersey as a gift right your parents, your mom, your dad, your loved one, your significant, other your spouse, your cousin, your friend, whoever it's your day birthday Christmas. Whatever you're getting a gift said I'm going to get you. How His Jersey an offensive player out of eleven personnel, this is a person that listens to the OCHO. So they know what we're talking about right. I want you because I'm going to go to the store I'm GonNa go online actually I I'm only gonNA go online social distancing I'm GonNa go online and I'm going to try to find one. I don't know who's going to be available right things might be sold out. So here's what I want you to do I. Want you to rank for me one through eleven, the order of which you want jerseys. Right. So the player you want the most is number one, number two so on and so forth and the player who you want the least number eleven, and hopefully that's not the case but we might have to do that because this is America's team the most valuable professional sports franchise in the. World there are more valuable than the Yankees and the Knicks out of Real Madrid and on and on and on. So I want you to rank them for me. So you can make my online shopping experience all the more efficient. All right. So you sit down, you got paper maybe user iphone notes out whatever the case may be and you rank DAX number one and number two maybe CD's number one I don't know but you go on and on and on and on both Darwin is what for you? What numbers here because I'm confident that these players are show of Trotman okay. Dak Prescott. Amari Cooper. CD. Gallup this is an order by the way it's just the list of names as equal. Elliott. That's five. I think you would rather have a tyrant Smith Jersey. I. Think you would rather have Zack Martin Jersey. I think. You would rather have a Lyle Collins Jersey. That's eight the only people that we if not ranked ahead of Blake Jar, Connor Williams and whoever the starting center is going to be, and if the starting center is tyler be honest I know you I think you might WanNa be Artist Jersey over Blake Jerry. You might. I. Think you might have some of you might want to Joe Louis Jersey over a blake trial and Jersey. I think that's interesting. And that's what I mean by we're not. Paying enough attention is not the right way to put it but we're not giving Darwin enough of his do and. I think I. Think we should. You Know People Forget Blake German cut the first touchdown of the season last year. Obviously that means a lot right mean it's it's a huge thing. But in all seriousness Blake, Darwin has the potential. To move this offenses potential more than anybody else because the floor that he is coming into is so much lower than everything else no disrespect to Jason witten. I don't really think they were probably a legitimate talks towards bringing him back to the cowboys, but he does and that's really all that matters so. Let's give Darwin's are. We're GONNA have a brand new episode of the seven five coming your way later on today myself into super. Bowl champion. Tony Casillas. That's right. You going a super bowl champion every week here on the blog on the boys podcast feed..

Basically the three, the three opt outs for the cowboys are guys you've never heard of except for as little while you probably have. They're going to replace Jamais Zola with probably Shea whoa Alana Lula. Virgin Jimmy's a wall. It name I mean it's. Yeah, it's it's hard number pronounced way much to pronounce but. I mean all in all the most affected impacted team by the opt-outs is the New England patriots cowboys though you'd Maurice Kennedy who came over as a potential corner of veteran corner. May or may not have even made the roster. Stephen. Gigiri. Non drafted free agent. Wide Receiver and Jessica. So yeah it's. It's not much patrick in terms of what they. Bring a good point though The rest of the NFL is playing checkers. And then you've got bill took over there. He's played chess and he set up for tank for Trevor Lawrence is what he said. No..

"Blake Darwin in two thousand and eighteen had thirty, five, point, nine percent. He had an uptick of not even three percent thirty, eight, point six, I mean I'm not. I think we we are all victims of this. We all say, how can the cowboys not using when we're acting like look I love Chow. He's in my twitter profile picture. But. We can't crown the guy and say. He's the greatest. I hate the phrase greatest things spread, but we can't be like he's the greatest thing since I spray we all certainly believe in his potential but. To Act like that is who he already is a bit unfair to reality but still to to not get more out of Bloomberg, Darwin. A player WHO's developing who's ascending seemingly. Criminal from the cowboys perspective but to answer the question because you might be wondering how much Jason Witten was used last year again, just about ninety nine percent.
David Archer previews the Atlanta Falcons
"The Atlanta Falcons will do so with a former Falcons quarterback. Now he is their longtime color analysts on the radio network for Atlanta. And that is David Archer. David Hope all is. Well. Thanks for doing this. When we look at the Falcons, they made a big offseason acquisition getting Todd Gurley We don't know where the health is of Todd Gurley. What do you expect at a Todd Gurley coming over from l. A to Atlanta for this upcoming season? Well, be honest with you. I think we're expecting a lot of early and mainly in the Red zone. If you look at Todd Gurley's numbers, even with with so called quote unquote down near Around 900 yards rushing, still had 12 touchdowns. All 12 of those touchdowns came in the red Zone, and I think that Atlanta if they could find a way to run the football down close Help three up the talented weapons that Ryan has on the perimeter. Now, listen, you have a little bit more of a potent attack a little bit more looking a little bit more like what? You looked like a 16 when Avante Freeman and Tevin Coleman. We're carrying the ball down there close and created that problem in the run game. Atlanta has not had that over the last couple of seasons. I think that's where they expect Todd Gurley to make his main hey is down there in the red Zone. With the way that you probably have to manage his reps as a running back the rest of the running back room. Is there something that jumps out to you? Yeah, I think it's a good group. Really Do I think that when you look at Brian, Ill in the way, Brian Gillis Kamani together that Hawkins drafted a couple of years ago, Brian Handsome solid moments a year ago. Quadri Allyson. Kid at Pittsburgh rookie from a year ago. Uh, kind of woke himself. A little bit of a roll is a short yardage guy. £225 Goal line Guy, four touchdowns. Hopefully, you know, Smith can come back. He was injured in the game a year ago. I believe against the Rams in which he was trying to pick up a Blitzer, which he shouldn't be here should be doing, but he is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield. And a good change of pace back at the back, So they get to three young guys that I think you could lean on. And like you said, Take some of that. Load off. Assad, Girl. Let's get to the next down. And when we do so, we take a look at Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. The two big names in that organization. Do you still believe that this team could be a play off team once again with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones? I do, but it's you know, obviously, it's about you know your supporting cast and you do some things on the other side of the ball, and I'm sure there's a question you've got to worry about the defense's side the football, But there there's a little area in the offensive line. The left guard has been a little bit leaky, right guard's been a little bit leaky because of some injuries and things that they could shore up that into your part of the offensive line. Ryan's Like most classic quarterbacks climb in the pocket. They got to be able to give him that opportunity. Do so if you get into your pressure and accurate from problems, one game will help in that regard, but Yeah. Julio Jones, 16 seconds, 1300 yard seasons. Matt Ryan, nine consecutive 4000 yard seasons. I don't see the one those guys backing off. When you talk about that offensive line to follow up on that I'm a big fan of Matt Hennessy. Being a temple grad, really smart football player puts in a lot of work. Is he going to make an immediate impact in your number one? Yeah, There's always a question that he's certainly in the mix to be the starting guard. There's no question about that. I think that there's ah lot excitement around when he brings the table and and obviously the heir apparent, Alex Mack, probably its center. So Alex back in a little bit longer to still have a good football any But I need to put some guys around him that Khun taken, it could be in there and we had German Brown and James Carpenter guys that could not stay on the field. There was some solid moments from those two big veteran players, but they did not stay on the field and consistency. In the interior specialist that left guard spotted Kennedy ultimately will probably win that job and be the starter that guard let's get to the next down. All right, David Archer. When they flip the switch here and go to the other side of the ball defensively, it was an up and down year for the defense, but it seemed like they did finish in a better spot than what they did earlier on in the season. You could probably say that for the entire team with the Atlanta Falcons this division. Is loaded with offensive talent. You know what the Saints are. Now you have Tom Brady and the division with Tampa Bay, and I'll be curious to see what Teddy Bridgewater does with the Panthers. What's your read on the Falcons defense entering 2020 Well, it's an uncertain situation obviously went on God. Dante Fowler, Dad's pressure off the edge contact. McKinley realized what they thought they had when they drafted him a couple of years and the number one spot picked up Charles Haley, who, ironically, was in the same draft. And raided a route the same attack McKinley are Charles Harris. I'm sorry. Charles. Charles Charles Haley. Right way. I'd like to have the guy that was rushing the pastor there for both the Cowboys in the 40 Niners. That would be great, but Harris. He does have some raw talent there. Can't he realize that I'm the Falcon Tutelage will have to wait and see Grady dear. It's an emerging star in the tackle position and Marlon Davidson, Vienna and an interesting ad, a guy that has the versatility to play inside. Maybe in past situations and also play the perimeter as a 34 defensive didn't run down situations. The answer at all Burn second round draft pick of the fact that they think they've upgraded their defensive line. It'll have to be upgraded because you get extremely young secondary. Probably gonna have a rookie a corner starting your nickels, a second year guy in your other corners of third year, guys, So there's a lot of young players on the perimeter need to get some pass rush speed up the thought process for the quarterback. Let's get to the final down. Alright. I'm surprised that Dan Quinn is Bacca's the head football coach for the Lancer Falcons. What does he have to do this year to keep his job and Is that seats the warm because, like I said, I was surprised that they brought him back for this year. It is warm. I think that it's fortunate they brought him back because of the current situation with the pandemic and the uncertainties, so some continuity certainly has played into Atlanta Falcons off season. I think they've had a solid offseason, much as you can, with the limitations. They're attached to this year, So I think that it was good in retrospect that, uh, Mr Black decided to keep Dan Quint on, but I think he's got there. They've got a bit pushed for a playoff spot. I think they've got to be. They can't come out of the box one in seven. It's got to be a team. It's in the hunt of the entire way. As you said, it's going to be outstanding division with outstanding quarterback play, but they have to be in the hunt to be a part of the postseason play. If they do that. And I think the fans will be a little bit of stab on the wound for the fans. But if you get out to a slow start, it would not surprise me. If if Mr Blank made some kind of decision mid season on coach Boy and I think, coach when is the right guy for the job Now it's put up or shut up. He scored a touchdown will go for two here Oscar. One more question This team was 11 5 We all know the deal they were in the Super Bowl blew the 28 23 lead. The next year, they did go 10 and six, the last two years. It's seven and nine. If you had to identify the biggest reason why this team has regressed, and I know they've had some injuries to but overall if it's not the health of the team, what's the biggest thing that you look at? Why this team wasn't able to recreate that magic from 2016 and 2017? I think their inconsistency ball on both sides of the football in conversion, down situations and in the red zone. I think Atlanta's done a great job of moving the ball from 20 to 20 But when they get in the red zone, they bogged down and settle for too many threes. And I think in turn the defense's side of the football. What about 22 23 scoring defense coming up 25 points a game. They've got to find a way to get more stops in the red zone. That's probably the answer that you could probably get from all teams struggled and not made the playoff teams, but I certainly think That that's identifiable with the Falcons over the last couple years, the inability down deep in the red Zone both on offensive defense, Julio Jones, he's Ah Hall of Fame player. We all know that one of the better wide receivers in the league He's only had one year of double digit touchdowns, going back to 2012 when he had 10 TUC maybe 10 touchdowns in his fortunes this year. Well, I think he's certainly capable of it. But you got an outstanding receiver on the other side of Calvin Ridley, who's realized his abilities down in the red Zone Pretty close. I think Aidan hearse is going to be a seamless transition from Austin Hooper tight end spot So there are a lot of weapons from that Ryan to get the football too. Don't forget Todd Gurley and how good he is at the back catching the football as well. So I I would say no, I think he's going to be 89 touchdowns. I don't think he goes double digits, but I think there's a lot of guys around him. They're going to score touchdowns. Look for guys somewhere between 13 14 guys catch touchdown passes issue. Say that we appreciate it. Thanks so much. You be well, my

"Blair, kind of find under the radar and I'm not saying that he's going to be the guy that we saw. Catch Three touchdowns on the road against the New York giants in week seventeen of two, thousand, eighteen by the way another photo of their new offensive coordinator. Jason Garrett did hit twitter on on Monday and it looks very strange if you want to see Jason Garrett in new giants Paraphernalia head on over to the blogging the boys facebook page like us on the book of faces or the dog in the boys instagram we are blogging dot the dot boys on Hashtag the Graham actually don't take the grand that's. So I wanNA, look at something. This is is how how ends were used for the cowboys. Last season per football outsiders the Great F. O. football outsiders, ALMANAC is fantastic about halfway through So if you are looking for an ALMANAC to purchase or to kind of devote energy your time to I cannot recommend outsiders Almanac enough but so perfect outsiders last year, the Dallas Cowboys, tight ends, their total snaps snap percentage everyone a look at this look at this at offensive snap percentage. So how much these tight ends were used on offense? We heard so much about right Jason wins coming back. He's not going to not going to be the same not gonNA. Not Going to play as much as he usually did etc blah blah blah it's going to be very very, very different and you know he's GonNa come in is going to be kind of a team guy and so let's look at two thousand seventeen. All right the last time that Jason Wooden was on the cowboys before two, thousand, nine, hundred because obviously in two thousand, he was in the Monday night football booth replacing what is now is current head coach but in two thousand seventeen, this was a very bad year for the Dallas cowboys as you all know, we certainly have discussed that Ad Nauseam I can't believe that was three years ago now but two thousand. Seventeen Blade John and play two point. Four percent of offensive snaps literally just four offensive snaps Jeff. Swain played sixteen point two percent offensive snaps tight in James Hanna Twenty five point seven, percent offensive snaps Jason Witten Ninety, eight point three percent of offensive snaps a thousand and fifty snaps for Jason on offense in two, thousand, seventeen for the Dallas. Cowboys that as a lot right and that was what we were told is not going to be the case was not going to case in two thousand and nineteen. But before we get to two thousand, nineteen, let's look at two thousand and eighteen only Jason Winless Year basically this millennium that year Jeff Swain was Kinda starter. Nobody really knew what Blake Darwin is going to be people forget by the way that the cowboys promoted from the practice squad late in two thousand, seventeen because. They feared he was going to get poached by the eventual world champion. Philadelphia Eagles who would ironically go onto draft alice it right after Jason Win retired several months later that is a bit of a funny sort of. Intersection of plotlines and stories and whatever. But two thousand eighteen rico gathers used on thirteen point, six percent of often snaps. It makes sense that we would mention his name. This is August. Rigo Time. Don Schultz has rookie year used on twenty seven point nine percent of offensive snaps Blade Darwin a big uptick from point four percent. To thirty five point nine again, this is two, thousand, eighteen and Jeff Suame had by far the most of anybody at forty seven point five percent. So let's jump to last season two, thousand and nineteen. All right now we talked about how in twenty seventeen Jason Witten had about. Ninety nine percent of offensive snaps played and we were told that's not going to be the case it's going to be more of a committee. He's here to just be this player coach, etc, etc, etc. Well, last year Schultz ten point five percent of offensive snaps. Okay. Hey, you're the third on the team it's really not going to happen too much Blake Darwin. Again, this is a team that we want to see run in eleven personnel really really really basically all. The time, which means we're only talking about one tight end and we know now we know that Jason wouldn't did get the.

"When I making progress on his show I'm watching them accents. How people talk about like I love the check things off my list I feel accomplished. That's a true thing. But I kind of feel that way if I have a show that I have multiple seasons left on you know I gotTa seasons, man. Really went to work today and I'm making my way through. Seinfeld. Just season three. So I know I'm like thirty years late but that's fine. So congratulations me and congratulations to you for whatever you are streaming. It is Tuesday in later tonight will be the premiere episode of this season's hard knocks very, very, very excited to see what happens here Shannon ferment is a good friend of mine good fan of the show she is one of the fantastic producers associated with NFL films she worked so hard on hard knocks every single year and I'm sure that hard knocks this. Season is going to be very unique and very interesting, and it's always interesting. Mean think about it because if you've watched hard knocks before if you don't know what it is, it's a show that profiles NFL training camps, and it does get a little bit redundant every year because it's Kinda the same thing right? Like you get to meet the lower level, you know people on the team that are probably not gonNa make it. Your Dak Prescott and things like that are hardly part of it but this year It's going to be difficult right to interact a lot people into kind of travel with them. oftentimes, you get to see their homes and their families and things like that, and a big part of the show is generally what happens during the preseason, but we don't have a preseason this year. So I'm interested to see how NFL films kind of forges on. So that starts tonight on H. B. O.. I want to spend today's episode giving love to somebody that I feel like is not really getting much. And this kind of thought started trickling in my all of my brain my. GotTa on Sunday I did a radio hit on one zero, five, three the fan with great friends Chris Arnold Kevin Grade Junior they're the best and they asked me kind of who was the most underrated. Player kind of a player to watch type category type box. For the cowboys this season and I'll let you answer, right. I mean we're going to be talking about my answer some hoping that we have the same answer. Maybe you saw the title of this episode and so no cheating. But who is who are we not talking about and I think some people might say I think that's one answer but I I just I feel like we're talking more about Jason Witten? Then we are about the starting tight end for the Dallas Cowboys Blake Darwin and before I get to. Blake. Not to completely. undermine. The whole point I built up but Jason Witten did have a clip on Monday that I found rather interesting. I. Did Media Session as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders Still Very Weird. Wearing the practice and stuff looks very very, very weird and he was asked if he wanted to or if there was any consideration to him returning to the Dallas Cowboys in two, thousand and twenty, and here's what he said courtesy of the Las Vegas Raiders Twitter Account. Or? Change. What happened? Yeah. I mean there was talk so that? anytime coaching changes and. A new program being you know that's part of this business. So you know obviously I got had a great relationship over sixteen seventeen years there with with the Jones family and very honest and very upfront, and of course, with Mike and and look at the talented team But you know this was a unique opportunity for me as well to come here and. Really invigorated by this challenge and where I'm at in my career, and like I said, it made a lot of sense from the fit in the role in the presence that I could have and. I didn't really over it. You know just a great opportunity and go in there compete and I'm very fortunate for that and I'll challenge myself to to play in high level even at where my ages and You know it's been a lot of fun for me. So, there were talks and talks could mean. What do you think? I mean like taxes so vague and and big use. Subjective. I certainly I would imagine, I would personally imagine the Jason. Win wanted to return to the Dallas Cowboys in two thousand and twenty but. Like we said good for the cowboys in fact, I believe if power ranked. The decisions, the cows have made this off season in terms of how beneficial they are going to be for the team. I think number one is obviously drafting CDL and we can kind of go through this and pick out a top five or whatever. But I think not bringing back. Jason. Witten is very, very, very, very big and maybe it's number five on that. List mostly because of what it means, it means a change in culture a chain philosophy change in disposition no longer is the team hanging onto the tired old veteran that means a lot to the organization. No I applaud the cowboys for developing more objective viewpoint of how they're going to build their roster, and sometimes that means you have to make decisions that are not fun. For the emotional side of all of us and Kudos to them for finally doing that but. Maybe, whitten's just also political. You know if hypothetically right, there were no talks. Wouldn't exactly be cool for him to be like yeah. Now they didn't want me back and I'd have any other option. So that's why I'm on the raiders but anyway, let's get to believe Charlton. I do feel like. We spent so much time obviously talking about act Prescott Zeke Elliott gets his Fisher of love. We've talked about how the wide receivers or maybe the best trio wide receivers in the NFL is generally the best starting wide receivers when team during eleven personnel, Mario Cooper Gallup in CD lamb, the offensive line gets all sorts of love. Maybe you could argue however, the person who wins the job ultimately ends up being maybe the cowboys starting center is somewhat underrated whether it's either beyonce Joe Looney Kinda McGovern. All of that remains to be seen..

"That's nominaux by. And that dreamy voice belongs to use half of the INDIE pop duo. The other half is her partner Co, parent Louis value. The couple started making music together while living in New York, but after Hurricanes Maria hit Puerto Rico. It decided it was time to go back home that return in the very meaning of home inspired their new first album. That could SA. I am not a native Spanish speaker, so I had never heard the word was skull Ya and so I loved it and I love the definition being a troublemaker. Are you by nature a troublemaker? I mean I would say no. But I do like i. kind of like what it implies in a way I do think that I'm always curious. I don't know I feel like I. Do have may be a troublemaker sort of nature when it comes to maybe making music like I like to take two worlds that are not supposed to come together and bring them together like to create and work with tension, so maybe in a way. That's why I was very much drawn to the name. Growing up in Puerto Rico. What kind of music was on her? On my Dad's side, a lot of so three. Oh Music Rock. He loved rocks and on my mother's side. My mom was more like an MTV head like. She just loved Madonna Prince Chardonnay. She was like more like mainstream. So I think that she will was more to English meet like English spoken music, and Spanish music, so we heard a lot of that, and that's mostly what Puerto Ricans here like we you know. Our airwaves are all like top forty American music, so we grew up with a lot of American music on the radio. But also like. And a lot of the Puerto Rican music was really has always been really important for my dad and my dad really taught me to love the music that was from my home country. Sucre up on the island. What's the turning point where you decide? You want to move to New York. Well I mean I studied architecture and design, and it was working at an office, and then I felt that really that may be. Our design wasn't really what I wanted to do. Like a wanted to be creative. And, so, I got I got into Rhode Island. School of design for my master's degree and I decided to textiles, and so I kind of knew that I might ticket to get into new. York was to actually go to maybe a school where I could get a job in new. York because I always dreamt about going to New York I mean my. My mother was born in the Bronx, and my parents were flight attendant, so I saw them come back and forth, and you know. New York has such a powerful presence in movies in the media. always felt like as a creative person that I wanted to go to New York and see like like I wanted to kind of find myself creatively there. How did you meet Lewis? Lewison I met at a friend's Party I. Mean I feel when you're Puerto? Rican your Puerto Rican near New York. You're bound to just be in party you'll. You'll probably meet anybody if you're around the same age I had the sort of like Make Ban with my friends Ban The way you putting it in quotation marks. Because I think it was sort of like mostly like a band that we never really kind of record anything we had songs, but it was mostly to pass the time and have fun like it was a timer. Like single just writing about like you know like just being single in the city, and it was kind of like a silly kind of project, but we were kind of playing our songs and. We used to do like weird like Spanish covers of pop songs, and we were doing a cover of bed romance of Lady Gaga in Spanish. and. I didn't know how to finish the song. I didn't know the cords Lewis comes in. I know the course of that song. And then he came in, and we finished a song from there on I knew he made music that he had like a whole history with bands. He had actually come to New York to make music end. Just like that we connected. We started hanging out jamming and. I showed some demos that I had with with the beginnings of what was boost cowboy Dan was super excited about it and immediately we. We hit it up and we started making music and we fell in love. But which came first the music or the Romance I have said a music came I for sure I. Main I'm seven years older than Louis so in a way I kind of felt a little bit like I. Don't really know if this is GonNa be a good thing. Again felt a little bit nervous, but I'm like, but I have a lot of fun with this person and he's super talented, so the music did come first.

"That's their first time together as a unit as a coaching staff. They've got the experience enough to maybe be able to find some of those gyms. Some of those diamonds in the rough whenever it comes undrafted, free agents man. It's an uphill battle. It talked about the intensity, and and you know rj joe of blogging boys. He was on a couple of weeks ago. Said if there's a coaching staff or a coach that should do well in this environment, you know. It's Mike McCarthy. He said at home for a year trying to figure this all out, but you know I think there's merit to that, but my thing here talking about the intensity intents. Can they get with only eight padded practices of being rumored as what they're going to allow? Yeah, that's that's what's just GonNa, be interesting because you have a coaching staff. Light led by Mike McCarthy and apparently. From everything that will be inferred through. DALLAS COWBOYS DOT COM. The virtual meetings have been going great I mean all the way throughout the offseason. Of course, they've kind of taken a little bit of time off lately, but these these meetings have been good. The offense defensive schemes have been put in place I think the defense is going to take a longtime to adjust maybe longer than people want to see to this new. My Nolan style defense, a little bit of a hybrid look for three or four, a little bit of different Scheme than you're used to look at from Rodman L. used to run in the past so I think that's going to be crucial. Throughout those eight practices getting the defense up to speed luckily, this offense mostly the same offense that you had a year ago, you gotta get the timing down with some of these guys like a Blake Bell, the of course the battle. Battle for the center in guard spot with Tyler, biaggi goner McGovern Connor. Williams Joe Looney all those is right in the middle of that offense wind, asking to be crucial, but for the rest of your skills guys for the most part that's kind of taken care of. It's really the defense that's going to have to ramp up the intensity. Get back to where. You want them to be if you're Mike Nolan heading into this season. That's going to be a tough task going up against just a padded practices. YEOMAN'S COWBOYS DOT COM. Appreciate Your Time Kyle. Yeah sorry. I can't say the name. Patrick the big news I suppose is. As rookies reported a training camp, and they finally got that figured out Ito between the NFL, the NFL Players Association the beginning of this week. Now there was a there is a clear effort by the the NFL players, and he plays sociation to go after the NFL. Not Sort of tied all the loose ends around. You know what protocol would be. They finally got that solved. The two big pieces were preseason and testing, and they got those figured out. There will be no preseason. It's official. So Obviously preseason is not something that people love. It's not great. But there is a reason for it, and there are. There are certainly pieces of it that are that are good and need and you need. So what are what are your thoughts on? What's going to be lost for the cowboys specifically without a preseason? I think it's something that you look at it and go while we got issues here with. The Defensive Line Right. Some of these young Guys Trust Hill. You know he had a terrible rookie season. Most people are wondering. Why did we take this guy over wanted safety..
CeeDee Lamb Gets Drafted By Dallas Cowboys
"Is officially under contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The team confirmed the wide receiver sign his rookie deal yesterday, but did not release details. Multiple reports say it's worth around $14 million with 1/5 year option.

Bill O'Reilly Responds to NFL Plans for Social Justice Decal Stickers on Helmets
"For the O'Reilly Update Message of the day the National Football League damaging itself by getting political League officials, owners, players are compiling a list of names to be used on helmet decals. Including George Floyd. The program, alas, throughout the entire season. Commissioner Roger Goodell recently apologized for his opposition to players taking a knee during the national anthem in seasons past. Saying We were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and now encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the National Football League believe black lives matter. Well, most Americans believe black lives matter, but they also believe police lives matter. 10 players put a decal of slain police officers on their helmet, Mr Goodell It's not Then your league is a political organization, not a sports franchise. In 2016. The NFL rejected Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, who wanted to wear stickers on his helmet honoring the five police officers. Slain in Dallas. According to league policy then and now quote Players generally must present an appearance that is appropriate to representing their individual clubs and the National Football League. The term uniform is used in this policy applies to every piece of equipment worn by a player, including the helmet. So if you were banning In the past all slogans on uniforms. And you're going to change it now You've got to change it for everybody. By agreeing to social protests on the field. The NFL will anger many fans. You will not support the product. That means less revenue for the lead. Let me spell it out. Fans can't go to many of the games this year. So the merchandise the shirts, the jackets off the teams is the primary source of revenue. Well, I'm not buying any merchandise if the NFL bans police officers from being honored I'm not going to do it. But far more important is the message. That the NFL is apparently sending America's an unknown fair country. Okay, we need to improve sane people agree, but it's all one side now. So I don't believe this is going to work out well for the National Football League, the N ba Major League baseball of his starts. There should be no politics on Game day. That's easy. No politics on Game day. If the players want to talk about social justice on for that, then come on my programs any time. But not on games during the week with the press conference is sure no problem
Dak Prescott still in talks with Dallas Cowboys
"Prescott still cannot. Deal for his. He no, he's he. Is a franchise. Cowboys I'm trying to. Some of these ads pop up, but he is in his final leg of his contract his current contract now he still has not been able to ink a deal. with the cowboys sale they are still in talks negotiations, but he says he is cowboys. Through and through, he still have one more year left under the current contract, which still thirty four thirty one point four million dollars. so he's still going and get them coins for that, but if he don't sign a contract, I guess he'll be a free agent you know with. Next. Monday plan football, no way so what?
NFL offers players to scrap all preseason games
"The NFL. No more preseason games. Well, that didn't take long. Yesterday morning. At this time, I told you about a source who said, Hey, we're going to be Cutting in half. We're gonna have one preseason game in the NFL. And then all of a sudden, the proposal is zero preseason games. The NFL the players the coaches need. At least one preseason game might not be possible. But If you think about new coaches, you got high draft picks. You got quarterbacks trying to get acclimated with game situations. And even a new coach, Kevin Stefanski, in Cleveland, just to have that communication from upstairs down to the field in realty time. And Joe Burrow in Cincinnati job Burrows First pass could be his first pass in the NFL. And then you have players who might not be able to make the roster without preseason because they don't get a chance to really showcase their talents. You're gonna have inter squad scrimmages. But I don't know how much football we're really going to see. And by that, I mean, are you gonna have inter squad games? Could I have the Texans and Cowboys play one another? Could you have maybe proximity scrimmages? Could Tampa play against the Dolphins or Jacksonville place? I don't know what's possible. And I think the NFL is trying Tio figure out. How can we get some football here? How do we

Maybe all three spots where play, but I think this is going to be huge for them to identify. They might go with two players that have yet to play a down in the national football league at left guard and at center. And they've got. All those other guys made the rise of of. "I think if you ask the the. Todd France assignment. He was saying that the cowboys were unreasonable. You talked to the cowboys or same way. We tried to get the contract to to Russell Wilson money. WH, what's what what's the problem? Mayor were not. We're not wholly low ball, and you were trying to get you to a level where you're at so I personally feel like though that that both sides really kind of got with the want the cowboys habitability. Now it's it could cost him and I I was told us. If they had a guy like Pat Mahomes and what Pat Mahomes? Just went through bedrooms, a no brainer contra at xay. Sign him up. Let's go back up the truck. Iriarte here's the checkbook. That's one of those contracts, but now that you're a situation where you still have maybe a little bit of doubt, because now it's like okay. I've seen that. Perform with Under this coaching staff. What could he do under this coaching staff? So this kind of gives them that opportunity to to be able to say okay. We can at least see ear now. This could be on deck if that goes out there. And the only reason only went. The DAK could fail to not get a better deal. Either from the cowboys or from somebody else is if he totally goes out there and poops in the bed. If that happens then now, the cowboys could say we were right will play with play with our backup. We'll get. We'll be the bridge any. Bridge would draft. Guy will try a different thing here. So the that once again is going to have to continue to play at a higher level, and the cowboys are betting that maybe his staff to get into the high level. If they do then, maybe that's where you'll see the contract. Well, the for sure the contract is going to have to be a lot of your personal opinion of Dak. is he the guy? Doing worth yeah, that's I. Think there's to me. This is where I used to have arguments with with the guys with Jeff Cavenaugh and gathered also used to come on when I was working in. DALLAS, cowboys dot com I never felt like that was the guy that I think. I always felt like the Dak lead the guys around. He needed the line. He needed the back. He needed the wide receivers. You know we saw what happened. Happened when it came receiver by committee. You know he wasn't. He struggled with that in a and then had to go out and get a more cooper, then all of a sudden. It's like we got a feed. The faulted says Zeke here on first down, we gotta make sure we stay ahead of the change. This is the way we play you know, and as we went along I I my my opinion that change I did see. Some things that I felt like he can carry this team more now, but again we'll see I. Mean they? They this surprise the hell out of me guys that they went out there and drafted. It was land I. There's No way in hell on draft night I would've thought that they were going draft CD. When you know, but that just shows you. Hey, we're going to try and help him. We're going to try and help the the play call. We're going to try and see if we can make him an even better player, so my opinion of Jack Is. I I i. feel like there's there has been progress there other things that you'd like to see him away..

"Seems right again. Considering because what we're talking about here is Jane Slater's report was the cowboys final offer came in at about thirty three to thirty, five million over five years over two hundred guaranteed which. Does kind of seem like a low ball offer from a standpoint of he's guaranteed seventy million over the next two seasons right? I mean he's going to get thirty one this year franchise tag actual. Get thirty eight, so. You're basically guaranteeing him seventy million over the course of the next two seasons, a thirty, five billion a year average, which is what they offered, so if you're. Like. That's the basement of and. You know if the cowboys were sort of on ability to go more because I think it came down a deck. If they wanted to deal, perhaps deck would have done it. They had to go higher on the money thirty, eight, thirty, nine forty, perhaps because he didn't want that long term because he wants to cash again and free agency. That's our cap explodes. And the cowboys, your basic like no. We're GONNA give you a four year deal. The opposite. You know the the five year deal with the ceiling at thirty five, so you know again. An offer that he knew that they knew he'd refused because it's basically what he's already going to get on a two year contract. So it certainly does to bring up a lot of pessimism surrounding the future of deck now. Let me ask you, should they? Should they be pessimistic, should they? Sh- in your opinion Patrick. The cowboys make the right move or do they make the wrong move. That's. If you look at. You know everything going on. It's tough especially with what's going on in the world right now. You know 'cause there's a lot of questions even gonNA. Play in your house houses all going to play out. But I'M NOT GONNA say they made the wrong move. Because obviously, if be stinks it up this year, people are gonNA. Go Wealth. They made the right move. They may bank on himself, but I won't tell you something that I found interesting..
Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"Quarterback Dak Prescott will play the upcoming season on a one year exclusive franchise tender after he and the team failed to reach an agreement on a long term deal before Wednesday's deadline. The press guy will play the 2020 season on the $31.4 million franchise tag.
Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott To Play 2020 Season On Franchise Tag As Deadline For New Deal Passes
"Let's get start gentlemen and. And we begin with America's team. In the latest on Dak Prescott after arduous talks over the past few months back in the cowboys were able to reach a long term deal before Wednesday's four PM deadline meeting the Star quarterback play the twenty twenty season on the thirty one point, four million dollars collusive franchise tag
Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"Not Deal for. Prescott and the cowboys could not agree to terms on a deal that would have the quarterback between thirty three and thirty five million dollars annually with a hundred and ten million of that guaranteed. So Daf will now play this season on the thirty one point four million dollar franchise tag. He will once again on himself this season if there were reports that the two sides were close, they clearly were not close enough. WHO's more likely to regret? Not Getting a deal done deaf Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to say. Despite the fact that I believe is going to end up the highest paid player than Patrick Mahomes in NFL, history I Dak is going to get the money that he ultimately wanted I think he's going to be franchise tag this year franchise tag next year and then hit open free agency. But here for deck that in the in the pursuit of that money, he's going to become an athlete that I. Don't think any athlete wants to be which is your name is not your name anymore? It's not Dak. Prescott is having a Joe Johnson Joe. Johnson stopped being Joe Johnson. He started being Joe Contract because no matter how good he was, he was never going to be able to live up to that contract. And I think Jack is setting himself up to be a little bit richer than he otherwise would be. Be a guy who can never live up to that contract, and the reason I think Dallas is not gonNA regret this, even if they back on the quarterback treadmill is because the the worst thing you can have in this league. Wild does not have a quarterback. The worst thing you can have is a vastly overpaid quarterback. If you don't have a quarterback and find a new one, you can go try to find one if you have a vastly overpaid quarterback. You're just stuck and so I think Jack is going to get what he thinks he wants in this the most money in. Have ever gotten aside from Mahomes I. Think he will end up regretting it because you have a great organization, you have great skill, position guys, and if he would've just signed for Carson, Wentz plus ten percent, no one would've held it against him, and instead this contract and the negotiations around at wild. You're going to be the narrative surrounding him for years to come. See I disagree. You think that it's it's. I think the worst thing to have is a mediocre quarterback. Any shot at the super. Bowl and I'm GONNA throw to a clip of Darren Woodson in a second, but I think in our minds if it's been glossed over that, it was troy and then Tony, but there was a the drew bledsoe Weirdo error there that they were in a bad spot. If we can take a listen a Darren Woodson please hubs. In, the world when you have quarterback purgatory. Where you can. You're not good at that position. That position is holding you back from winning games, and there was a time before Tony Romo era. Where there were four years, we went five and eleven. In a week, totally struggled at that one position in in today's game that one position is means a ton means wins and losses gotta get you over the Hump in when you don't have that Clare in that position. It's a huge struggle. I'm. So. Bryan. I think this eventually gets done I. Don't know if he gets franchise again. I think that we just moved the goalposts and a long-term deals going to get done. They like each other. Dak wanted for the cowboys wanted five I. Don't think the answer is. Let's get divorced just because we can't agree. I think this eventually get works gets worked out and I. Don't think anyone has any regrets long-term. The cowboys ended up regretted. Just a bit because I think that goes out and has a very good year. This season with Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy comes back in after winning a playoff game or two, and says we need to have Dak back now. The cowboys have to pay him that long term contract, which is going to be a little bit more than they would have had to pay him this year. Here's the question that I've always had. If if the cowboys don't love, why would they ever want to sign him to a five year deal versus the forty deal if you don't love them then? On to a four year deal, you can get rid of him quicker. Why would you want WanNa longer contract if you don't love him, and you don't know exactly what he is for your football team to me I think they know who back is they just don't WanNa, pay him because they see him as a fourth round pick. A guy that has played well in this career hasn't quite got over the Hump. I don't think they want to pay him if I'm back Prescott I, feel like I'm in a great position to meet the floor. The absolute four is thirty three to thirty five million dollar contract that you can get from some other team after the season. If things don't work out for you here in Dallas, I think a team like Jacksonville. Teams that would need a quarterback was still need a quarterback next year and would be that open market possibly if he doesn't give franchise in the floor to his contract would be that deal that he turned down this season from the cowboys.

"I think that that to me on like a viable option. And this conversation only makes me want the cowboys to go. Get Jamal Adams even more because it's like. What are they look like without him? That is very concerning very concerning. It's working, I think people give it credit. Because a lot of people are like well, it's funny because the same people who are Chris Resorts to be their new head coach a couple years ago that the same people that are like. Oh, they're scheme was bad, and that's why Cheeto is bad. It's like no. Why was by Jones good then I won't. Be True. His problem with turning his head around the same problem he added Colorado. It's something. There's no ball skills. That's not a Chris Rashard thing. That's go woozy a thing. But here's the thing though having zero ball skills like a Allah Byron Jones didn't necessarily make him a back corner. He just can't create turnovers. which you know, which is fine I mean, but he's not going to catch the ball, but guess what will the Dialogue Burne Jones? You're not either you know so. That's that's that was what was great about him. And you know you're right about. It would be great 'cause. You can have these conversations, but I'll tell you this I. don't really like talking about Jamal Adams, but I would love to trade just for the content ideas I'm not even. Gonna Give. "Miss You every time. I don't talk to you I. Literally, every moment that I'm not talking to you I, Miss You. I felt the same way I'm glad that there's that symmetry there between the two of us. What is? In your estimation of this twenty twenty cowboys team. What's the biggest flaw right now that you see seeing them? E. Secondary will be my biggest flaw. June this the other day, and I did this on a youtube video either today or yesterday. Dot Com slash shift gavel. Go like his videos goes subscribers channel. Yeah, come on, guys trying to get rich. Who's going to turn the I'm going to turn this around immediately. Inserted asking you questions the second best player on this defense. To Great Question Holy Cow Win and ask McCoy and as you process that. Is it reasonable in any way to project them to be good? Right right? We're putting a lot of faith in the coaching. Staff I think schematic changes because you lost your best corner, you have one great defensive player, and after that you're hoping whoever is the second best third fourth fifth sixth best you're hoping. They're good players. They probably need late. Vander, actually their second best player defense. That's what I went with I. I don't know if he is right I want him to be. That would be what's best for them. Either that or for Alden Smith to miraculously be the second best defensive player. What's more likely? LV. Yeah. I think yeah, I think so too. I mean it seems unlikely. The guy that has played football and five years we'll suddenly become their second best player, but. It'd be great if you Delta's. So biggest worry is the secondary because you lost your best corner and another thing that I was this. From over the Cap Dot Com did a great article about cornerbacks. Why don't people try to build a super team with three cornerbacks? Because the average NFL team and the cowboys were just like this year, the average NFL team. Would you throw their number one corner? You get about six point four yards per target, and that was Byron six yards per target. That's what you get. The average team. If you go to the second corner, you get over seven and a half yards per target. That was Tito and it was true. If you go their third corner, you get over eight yards per target. And once you lost Anthony Brown. It was Jordan Lewis and that was true, and that's exactly what they were. And now they've lost the guy that was six yards per target. So is somebody going to slide into that? Will the numbers just accidentally end up that way? or how are you GonNa? Pull that off I think we're banking on Mike. Nolan pulling it off not cheeto and Jordan Lewis and Anthony Brown and Trevan digs and Darryl Wurley. I think you're you're dead on in special. Go back to your point.

"Fan when they picked him like I think I had him as a fourth rounder, and I thought it was kind of interesting twitter corner safety. What are you going to do with him? and was at his worst with his back to the ball, and that's kind of what's catching up to him where. He doesn't cover well. ARE WE'RE GONNA? Take squeaky, Toy Kim inner-city. Squeaking and I know they can hit a note and no come here. You son of. What was the Tom? com No no, you're not telling us. You know I wasn't. Oh cheeto. Yeah, so it's not that he's a bad cover guy. He puts himself in good position. He reminds me of when Brandon Carr was here's last couple years where it's like Dang like he's right, there is right there, and they made the catch an next place right there. Oh, and they made the catch surprise and like so he can cover. He's just struggled to finish, and hopefully that's GONNA change with new. Coaching hopefully. Here's make that big a difference. I hope I mean. It's hard with coaching staff, because like once upon a time covering football I would be like Oh. Yeah, this coach was that team and they were good at defense, which means that he's awesome. Right then you're like well. Hold on the more you learn, the more euros you don't really know and so without Harris. What do I really know I? Know that he was a good press cover corner and I think the cowboys going to play more press coverage. So. Is there room for optimism? Yeah, but I don't know what he's able to do as a coach and what they're able to absorb his players, but I know that he's teaching something he was good at, and he's following after a guy that whatever his teaching was didn't work, so there's room for optimism for sure, so we've started with pessimism because we started with. What's the big flaw and we started with defense? But how are you optimistic about this football team as a whole? I am. Because I think they have. You can bring up teams. If you WANNA have a knock down drag out, but I think I'd take their trio of receivers over anybody in football, so I think they're going to have I think they have a really good quarterback. They're going to have at least a good offensive line as good. A wide receiver group is there is in the league. People can. Video so it makes sense if you see me. Two dogs playing with one toy and the puppy likes to taunt the older dog with I have the toy, but if the puppy drops the toy and it's closer to older dog. Then younger dog is not allowed to have the toy because older dog. And Act Like A. And so then younger dog just starts barking like no I WANNA play a lot of play a lot of play. So, yeah, I think the cowboys offense is going to be awesome. And I think that their defense. Whether. It's better than they were a year ago or not..

Oh yeah, and the all time NFL's leading rusher handed off to. Not to mention the playmaker Alvin Arbor, Jay Novacek. He had greatly makers around him much like Roger did. In so. "I'm well y'all thanks for having me on You know I mean. I don't know how to answer the like what's going on question these days. 'cause it's become a much more existential question than it used to be. Yeah seriously like I have to think long and hard about it like how am I doing? What is going on am I okay? Yeah well you know if If you get bored or anything you just go on twitter you mentioned Dak Prescott. Put your phone down. Walkaway new comeback entertained. You're not kidding man idea. That's I mean every day is just a diff- pronunciation on the same argument right. It's incredible the story hasn't even evolved. It's just like it's an illusion that it's evolved but it's like the cowboys want X. Years Dak wants less than Ex. That's where we are and yet it's like it's we keep getting news stories at Eagles this and it's like no no. It's the same thing it's always been. But that's just the nature of the Beast The Dallas cowboys especially the quarterback position. I was thinking about that mean. Just there's so many cowboy fans and obviously you either loved the cowboys or you hate the cowboys you know. They're divisive their hot topic. They're widely beloved widely hated and for better for worse. People are just going to try to chase that clout which you know. I wish more people would be a little more discerning of where they're getting their information from like. I think we wouldn't be in this mess as often as we are. If people could just be like wait a second. That person never talks about the cowboys. And now they're like reporting this crazy thing like maybe that's not right. That doesn't it just doesn't happen as often as we would probably prefer. The president speaks about a fake news. We roll our eyes but then like with that kind of stuff. When it comes to the sports report you can kind of see like yeah that makes sense to me? It's not fake news. Much as it's just weird convoluted and people are throwing things out there that gets aggregated. It's just a mess. Yeah it's it's like a chicken or the egg thing like you know what what happens. I like the the bogus story happened. I or did the uproar happened for like the never ending like hamster wheel of so true misinformation. And I guess yet so I wanted to ask you a little bit about John. Machado to put out a list on Thursday for his all-time Dallas Cowboys team. And I saw couple on there and I kind of wanted to get your opinion on because it's how I feel. I saw Charles Haley listed into me. That should be Harvey Martin and my seats. I Know Haley was an all time great. But we think all-time great cowboys. I think of RB Martin according to Ailey all while I love this conversation and I I. I didn't know this is where we were going to go. So I'm actually like I'm going to pull up the stats but I don't necessarily think you're wrong. And I think that is a very interesting and unique What's the word I'm looking for? It's a. It's something that we always talk. While it's it's a unique thing for the cowboys fan base. In my opinion I mean if you don't know I grew up in Louisiana. I was a lifelong Saints Fan. You know growing up before I got into journalism and it seems we say now but you know before drew brees got town saints or joke like they didn't have any good players like their their ring of honor was like Archie Manning Willie Roaf and nothing else like. They didn't have anybody else worth being proud of as Saints Fan. You take what you can get like you. You're you know you're claiming anybody and everybody and you kind of see that if you go around you know if you're if you're fortunate enough to be able to go at ten two games and other NFL stadiums you see like the rams are like you're near the Arizona. Cardinals claimed guys that like never really even played a game in Phoenix. You know what I mean. Because they don't have that much to be proud of. Meanwhile Charles Haley is a hall of fame player. He's literally in the fame I got his numbers right. I mean he's got one hundred career sacks and cowboys fans are like. He's not really one of us like he's not. He's not really one of us because he didn't play. Its own career bands. How Great The Dallas Cowboys are that. You can just sort of like Shun Hall of fame player because he didn't start his career as a cowboy and I'm not knocking anybody I just. I think that's funny because it just goes to show how blessed the cowboys Ben for the majority of their history that they can kind of afford to turn their nose up at a guy like Charles Daily. Let me let me turn my nose. Let me turn my nose up at another one. You Have Dion Sanders on the list. I would put parents. Newman there again. All of Famer okay. I will our MD on as part of that too like so. Many people are reluctant to claim the odd. The I can't I can't go there with you know Patrick I mean all right. I'm I'm Lee Harvey Martin you know. There's a case to be made that he should be in the ring of honor. I you know you was the cowboys sack leader before demarcus ware. It's up the title. He was the Super Bowl Co. Mvp eased. I mean I don't have a problem with putting him over Charles Alii. I can't leave arguably the best cover corner of all time off of any all time team and that's not a knock on. Terence Newman had of really good career. But I mean it's very easy to make the case. That was the best that ever played a position. Like Eddie leave him off the team. What would you him for Patrick? San Francisco Atlanta San Francisco. I've been known to do the hot. Take Okay people on twitter kind of get upset at time so you know. It's kind of like it. I you know Dion Brash personality like he's he's in you know he can eat he gets on people's nerves but and and you're right he played obviously he started his career in Atlanta. He want a super bowl with the forty niners but like I think the vast majority of football fans like when you think of Dion Sanders you think of the Star on his helmet You know he was on a cowboys. Super Bowl team like he was may be the biggest personality on. Its full of me again. As somebody didn't grow up a cowboys fan. I think of him as a cowboy and again you know when you're the best ever played the position it's hard to argue against them and I grew up in Chicago bears fan and so like the discussion. You're saying about like the great players in in history for a franchise like literally. Jay Cutler has statistically the greatest quarterback bears history beating like if Dak Prescott where the bears quarterback right. Now he'd be probably the greatest quarterback history the bears so they're like fifth and sixth all-time Cowboys List Energy again. You know I'm not. I'm not hating on cowboy fans you have every right to be proud of your team's history but it's coming from a team you know if you know if you're a bears fan or a saints fan or again Arizona Cardinals fan like it's just that's not it's not even the same planet like you're looking for anybody can be proud of if you're rooting for a team like that. Yeah I guess you know I guess. Sometimes as Goblet we forget that like from eighty eight eighty nine ninety. Dallas cowboys selected all famers with their first pick in each season. So I mean I guess we're we're blessed at the same time where I maybe. We're a little spoiled. Yeah Yeah I'd say so I hesitate to use spoiled in twenty twenty. Yeah cowboys fans get this. Unfair Rep for being bandwagon fans and I'm like Anybody YOUNGER THAN FORTY. Like barely remembers the. Hey Day you know what I mean so like anybody. That started rooting for the cowboys. In the last twenty five years didn't do it because they were winning a ton of games. You know what I mean so I don't know about spoilt right now but yeah I mean you know the the cowboys packers steelers forty niners Who am I forgetting? I mean there's there's probably six or seven franchises that really are a cut above when it comes to like historical success and yeah. I always thought that was really funny that you know I mean again. Going back to the saints like the greatest layered sates. His history didn't start his career as sane. Like you're not GonNa hear anybody trying to discredit drew brees. Because he started out as a charger. Nobody in New Orleans. There's that talk with David. Helmand DALLAS COWBOYS DOT COM. What's your favorite which the most intriguing exciting favorite? Move off season for the cowboys beyond the head coach. Well obviously we do the draft show. And I'm a big draft nerd so I immediately jumped to see lamb. But obviously everybody's really excited out that it was one of the most exciting fixed the entire drafts For shout side of bats. I don't know how you can't be intrigued by Alden Smith especially out that he's been reinstated. it's just fascinating. I mean I was I was actually talking with my show. Twitter yesterday about You know what's the longest guy has ever been completely away from football and come back and great ass and you know. John Brought Up Michael. Vick which is really a great point and Alden Smith has been away from the game even longer than Michael Vick was you're talking for years. Do I expect him to be an all pro? Not really but I do think he's probably good enough to really contribute to the pass rush and if he is And if you know if he stays on the straight narrow as they you know the reports indicate that he is I mean. How crazy would that be? That guy goes from being suspended for four years to you know making plays for the Dallas cowboys and I mean it's fascinating to think about you. Know I talked a little bit with Ari about it in the one thing that I said about Album Smith is. He doesn't have the tread on the tires. Some of these other guys. Do you know. So he's coming in a little more. Fresh not as banged up over the last few years. I think or fix that think that he can't contribute. It's four years that you're not getting beat up playing physical position again. The reports coming out of his camper that he's like super lean and in this crazy shape and you know this isn't a project in the sense that the guy doesn't know what he's doing he had like thirty five saxes first three seasons in the League It seems unfair to me to put that type of expectation on somebody who hasn't played for years but like I said I mean you know six to eight sacks sounds like a somewhat reasonable expectation and if you get more than that that would be incredible but it's it's just interesting to see how is dealing is after so much time away. So do you you project that Dak Prescott is GonNa play the twenty twenty season under the franchise tag or under a long term deal in the minute you try to have it. Take about this when you wind up getting raw. Yeah I mean I've been saying for a year that I thought it was going to get done me too and now but now that we're sitting here in almost June whites and as until June It's starting to feel like the tag is a very real possibility You know at this point. I DAK has almost no incentive to sign anything right now unless the cowboys really cave to like all of his demands like what is the harm in waiting until July to see how they changed their offer or whether somebody else signs via Patrick Mahomes Shawn Watson. I don't think that's super likely but it could happen. So and less the cowboys. Just give back everything he wants. What's the incentive to do with bill right now so now you're talking about getting all the way up until the deadline and then it's on them to make it work which they've done it in the past but I think it's hard to imagine that deal gets done unless the cowboys are really willing to cave and I don't the indication that.

"Twenty twenty expectations Patrick and not just from the teams vantage point because I have high expectations. I know you do but like just give me some guys. You're thinking about in terms of like here's guys have either high low or not really sure what type of expectations. I have some of these guys. I think the expectation level you talk about immediately CD LAMBS. GonNa come to mind just thinking about the new guys right like we know what Amari Cooper can do. We know what Michael Gallup can do. factor in CD LAMB and talking about. He's kind of taken over that role of what you know. Cobb had you know. At first I was like I don't know that he can put up those numbers that that Cobb did in his first year. Just because there's always this right Trying to get acclimated to the League but then I thought about it and I said wait a minute. This guy came from Lincoln Riley System. Yeah high volume they know in. Nfl teams Goto Lincoln Riley to work with him. Like how do we? How do we do this? Are we factor? This and I had taken a you know. Take that into account. You know what? I don't think it's going to be that far. Fetched That see lamb could challenge thousand yard seasons rookie year? Lau I mean. I'm thinking colts nine hundred yards so I think by expectation for CBS. Pretty I think he's going to challenge for offense at rookie of the year. He's the guy that I really think is going to be up there Then you need look another guy who I think is. I got high expectations worn. I think he's really going to contribute is Trevan digs we had him on the PODCAST. Recently in just talking about a guy that likes to go after the football and you know like Mike. Mccarthy said they're they're putting an emphasis on it so I kind of think that that is going to be one of the reasons why he excels is 'cause he's going to go and get the football football team. Football team can be a lot better. You think about it since the start of the Jason Garrett era the Dow which are the only team in the NFL during that time that failed to record at least one hundred interceptions since Jason. Kerr became head coach. So we're talking about the last ten years only one. They're the only team to fail. That failed to get one hundred interceptions. How many finish with ninety eight? There were thirty seconds in the NFL in turnovers. And so I you know. That's why they're there has to be that. You know that premium on turning the football over I mean just running another in. I don't totally get off. Let me run. Run these numbers by dowse eighteenth in that same time frame with turnover margin negative eleven. Wow It's credible that they made the playoffs often as they did being that bad at crater. Because that's like such a great indicator of success in the NFL. Who's who I in that in that timeframe the New England patriots was sitting on the Patriots. Loss one hundred nineteen and turnover minus eleven. Yes second was Seattle plus ninety four in hit. Here's the kicker during that time. Green Bay was third plus sixty nine while so the drop off between first and third is incredible. Does that fifty four thirty. Wow but you know but it just goes to show you. So the Mike McCarthy led packers were third so I think that that's going to have an impact because obviously he wants put a premium on it and over the last decade. His team's been able to do it. What about the interior of the office line? This is going to be huge. I mean I think the secretary of the Office Vladimir be two huge discussion points in terms of Joe looney Connor McGovern Connor Williams and entire beyond the first or the their draft. Pick out of Wisconsin until you genyk patients for the top for the best five outfits Lineman. They're going to have all right so I'm Tyron Smith can be left tackle Echo I expected turn Smith is GonNa Miss Three Games Because he's mystery games last four years every year so I think he's going to miss time My left guard. I'm GonNa go Connor Williams regard. Zack Martin you don't have to worry about him. Plugging my centers were. I'm struggling. Is Joe looney com govern or is it tyler badge and I think to start the season? I'm probably leaning towards looney obviously because of the injury concerned with Kind of government. And not that. He has any injury concerns. Now it's just he hasn't been healthy so I don't know what I have in him But I think by seasons in Tyler be adage will be. You're starting center. I'll so more of the Jason Garrett thing well the the reason why is because the attitude Get up to speed in McGovern. Hasn't played so that's my whole thing in in knowing that what Joe Looney brings right. It's high yard time. I know you are. But it's hard for me. And she said on Mike. Well crap am overthinking this in my stuck the Garrett ways I mean I still say how we doin guys so you know suffering from some Stockholm's and I look. I don't know that I feel like maybe this is me. I feel like Joe Looney is more like it. Started Center than Conroy. Abs is more liquid started at guard. I don't know why but I I just think we see a lot of growth of columns that we haven't seen because he's just going to be not to say it's bad but growth last year before tours. Acl I agree. I agree and I think there was some bad. What'S BAD Games? But like the problem with him as he had some he had some like bad snaps. That just stood out in a way that made him look way. Were actually was I just. I feel like they're going to have such good competition there. All right a moment we.

Arias someone who brings plenty of knowledge and professionalism can wait for the cowboys with his perspective. I've also really gotten to know Patrick more and more throughout listening to this podcast and they have a great dynamic and working together. Thank you Ryan for posting that and I would encourage you to also leave us a rating. It's very easy to do. Take a short amount of time in means a ton so please leaves rating and I will read one on a future episode without further Ado. Here's my co host. Patrick on our attempt can patrick. Khan and in the lead up to the podcast and our pre podcast discussion planning period. You have forbidden us from talking about the forbidden fruit today. So even though there's a ton news circulating around Dak Prescott new information there on his curbs what he's turned avarice what he has endured down. He's apparently voldemort on his podcast. Patrick we cannot talk about him. Yeehoo shopping named because there's just a swirling bunch of news very relevant news on Deck Prescott will So Chris Simms right yes. Is He feel dumb today? Is he feeling them today? I mean 'cause I haven't seen him mess up on a national states like that since Roy Williams jumped over the line. Let's say I haven't seen him? That messed up the national stage like that since I don't know pros or college or anytime. He was on the football field. Yeah the the turning down the five ruined seventy five in in a my buddy. Patrick Walkers didn't happen in Iraq reports. I gather didn't happen. It's like seen Bro. Tough tough deal so yes so Chris. Simms basically said the Dak was offered a deal as you mentioned total. The one seventy five in the final year of the deal was as much as forty five million and basically it was refuted Isn't that would act was wanting the forty five in the final year. I mean based on what we've talked about the past deck and the the the rising salary cap as the new. Tv money gets infused. Like what I've heard from. This is I've ever heard. Would Patrick Walker sit on it? But basically I mean it's he wants the few wants for years the cowboys WANNA fifth year which which makes sense because if the fifth year salary cap is four hundred million where it's a two hundred million today that forty five billion in that fifth year is really cheap. So if I'm back even forty-five millions just outrageous number today five years from now that's cheap number so I'm like from from my vantage point if I'm back. I completely understand why he doesn't want to do that. Fifty I completely understand why he's Max at a four year deal because then he's going to cash in again on the salary. Cap goes up a ton and and forty five million at that point is is going to be small. It's going to be small money a talking about that. The whole the deck deal and and I think you're right about that you know what's funny is let's let's circle back a little bit right. Jimmy Garoppolo running signed his deal. Remember the outrage me. Signed that deal anybody even care about that deal right now. No kidding as how much outrage there is in the immediate aftermath of quarterback deal and then how quickly outraged dissipates. It's insane how it's going to cycle right. I mean it seems cycle every time quarterback new deal outrage new quarterbacks new deal outrage new quarterback deal. I mean it just keeps going up and up and up and it's like my whole thing that's the thing that I don't understand is why we're so upset about Dak Prescott potentially cashing in getting forty five minutes in the final year. Deal whatever million number you want to throw out there. I just don't understand the outrage and I you know I a national writer setting hiding. I didn't get the deal with this. He said Dak Prescott would've been picked fourth overall instead of one hundred thirty fifth. Would we still have this outrage? Yes guess what? Zeke Elliott was picked for the wrong. Guess what people are outraged but his contract to or whether you WANNA say. Pay running backs or not. That doesn't matter. Fact is right that I think because it's The Dallas cowboys. People were outraged. Yeah so there. We've talked about Dak even though you forbidden. Us talking about deck and I don't disagree with that because it's this endless cycle of rumor innuendo and it's like nothing literally. Nothing has changed like we can like as soon as I saw the story with forty five million ear. Mike Oh people are gonna go crazy with this. It's like throwing chum in the water but around shark but like it. It's of course he wants forty five. He probably wants sixty million in the fifth year of his deal because the salary cap could be in a position where sixty million is not rangers for quarterback at that time. And that's in place so nothing you know what I want. Sixty million year true key. Play quarterback athletic can't be any worse than killing more so it's like nothing changed. Dak wants a short deal. The cowboys longer deal because cowboys want her to be cheap. When the salary gap explodes index. Like no I don't want to be cheap explodes. I just had me for. You just had cheap for three four years like I'm good. I'm all set now. You're GonNa pay me so earlier. This week news broke. All Smith is being reinstated pretty soon out. Imagine the same will be true for Randy Gregory. He'll be reinstated. Let me ask you this. Let ask it this way. How are you gauging success for Alden Smith and the cowboys? Twenty twenty like what? What are your expectations? How are you measuring this from your vantage point? If all in Smith gives me anything. That's a win. The guy that played football years. Yeah so you don't want a guy who hasn't played football in almost five years. I mean it's unprecedented type situation. So I I think it gives you anything. I think it's a win in. You know you bring up the rainy Gregory situation in you know I was also I was also like that. You know I was like. Hey Oh Alden Smith okay. Where's Randy Gregory? When is that coming down right and I think the Combo them if they can together if they give you what you got out of Robert Quinn. A year ago I think. So when I'm y'all start factor in in a word is and I fallen on you know Term Cropper. You Know I. That's the way I will get right now. I think success is if I get seventy eight sacks from that combination of guys. I think it's a win. Yeah I'm with you. I the way I discussed it as if plan sixteen games like that'd be amazing success and you have a situation then where it's like if you play the sixteen games you're going to have decent production like there's there's you know the and have to tell you how many sacks can have any other number. It's like if if he's able to play in sixteen games the production will be there could have nineteen and a half sacks like he did a second year league. That was seven years ago. You know he's. He's not the same player and the expectations should be that he's even close to that. But if you playing games he's GonNa Produce and think you have to like it because he doesn't have the The wear and tear on his body over the last five years. True if you know. He's he's been training. He's on the straight narrow. Our same thing about you know. Randy Gregory No. There's not the wear and tear from the last two years playing football so you have to like the how fresh they're going to be in you know that they're gonNA get some opportunities because people are going to be so focused on stopping tank and now you bring in Donte Po in the middle and you bring in McCoy. Now you have guys that can do things on the inside and so. I think that that will only benefit them. Because what is you know? The big thing that the cowboys had been missing last year's as interior pressure also a coach that cares about interior pressure. So they have in players that can bring terror pressure consistently okay so right Defensive End Randy Gregory Alden Smith Bradley and I- Tyrone Crawford Orange Armstrong like who's just starting right defensive end right now. I'm probably heading camp. I probably have to go with tyrone Crawford. I mean he's he's the guy that's got the experience he's giving you something that defensive end You know I think dorrance has more of these kind of the guy that gives tanker breeder not that he can't rush on the right side but you got able bodies hopefully in rainy gregory and album Smith on the right side so I think it goes turned cropper until one of the the other two guys or even an I can start taking reps from him. I feel like we're so trained by Jason Garrett like because it's like if this team's head coach I tell you when with one hundred percents certainty the Will be the starting right defensive end they would just because it's like he's he's been there. He's he's a veteran. He knows the situat- like you just not going to be outside that like J. Scare goes with what he knows and what he's comfortable with and it looks right exactly right and maybe tarrant Crawford their best option there. I just feel like now is a new day where it's like. Maybe maybe they will go like maybe they'd get barely. I shot if he was if he was the job at Camp like the thing is Bradley. And I play as well and camp in Jason Garrison head coach Tom. Across pretty still starter without a doubt. Even though he's geared saying it's a little bit competition Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. Like without a doubt. It's tarrant Crawford so it's funny. You're answering Crawford. Mine was too and then I'm like wait. A minute Garrett's not coach anymore. Maybe they won't be so conservative. I don't know maybe it's rainy. Gregory maybe all right so..
