"More than the song right i agree with. Yeah yeah and there was a unique situation because you had neil actually writing all the lyrics which is sort of pretty heavy mounds of how you know most most bands kind of work. But i think you know. I think that image struck a chord. Because you know i think society you know like the social like like the cultural climate at the time was a little sort of like anti you know anti rockstar. Like you know the everyday person glamorizing the idea that the everyday person can be as important as especially coming out of the eighties right which was all about like everything was everything was over sexed and glamour. Yeah and inkatha surface maybe a little bit. You know like there but yeah what you remember of it right. No that's actually not speaking to your your earlier comment about tenacity and craft and so on i was living in l. A. at a time when it could have done irreparable damage to me to be there. But i had the good fortune of being a workaholic and having a good work ethic so i i really missed out on. I did go to the roxy a couple of times and i did witness salad bowls of cocaine and things like that but it was. It wasn't something that. I i subscribe at bowls of cocaine. Perfect a lot of selling title together after this writer say nobody would any cocaine so addressing. I kid you not. I kid you not. Behind the velvet ropes sat a very dynamic rockstar whose name will will go unmentioned but he was flank. I some pretty outrageously beautiful women in right in front of him was his bowl. So you knew that. The police commissioner in that club was pretty much in concert with each other. He was dipping in the ball to the problem. I have to ask the after. Ask the question that i have whether it's a band or a client so on i'm always interested in knowing musicians favorite covers whether they they are their own or just history what covers have spoken to you. as being brilliant like for me the white album was a brilliantly cheeky and the beatles could get away with such a faceless cover because we you are after all the beatles but I love to hear what you consider to be your favorite covers from history. I always loved. Disraeli gears yeah ya yeah and is it rubber soul or is it meet the beatles. What was the four floating faces the black and white with On the side was the idea that was meet. The beatles meet the beatles That always Always a striking coverage me always always And much emulated thereafter. That whole italy. The half black facing wait that knackery justed this. Yeah the simplicity of using Shadows in beautiful ways But but at the same time highlighting highlighting the members of the band. Yeah yeah yeah Stat and then. I don't remember which boston album it was. But the sort of like the guitar spacecraft. Yeah the spacecraft. They pretty iconic and famous yet. I mean almost talk about record covers and not talk about sergeant pepper's no the his lack going on but i mean i remember. I remember staring at that album as a kid. 'cause my my stepfather had it on vinyl and i remember just you know what would seem like hours staring at it and still finding new visuals you know and then just all the mystique was wrapped around. You know like somebody's holding something in there's another head back there and it's there because of this this all the conclusions were drawn from. It was just of be speaking of salad bowls right now. It is definitely a phenomenal cover and yet beautiful that covers. It's technically so primitive. And yet it still it still was conceptually and and i think sometimes you know overrides the the execution. If i can ask you a question. I want to derail his. But how do you like. You're talking about videos in just the importance of almost kind of you know we're living in this time right where like and it's relevant. It's relevant to the mass box conversation. Because you know we were an mtv one. I think one of the things that really contributed to our success at time to was that you know it was kind of the height of mtv and vh one and know absolutely had the extra vehicle we kind of had the benefit of being successful in a time. Where you know. Television individual was really important and in the internet was also starting to become a factor. Yeah we we caught a you know midway through our career started to benefit from the the digital side of things but now you know we look. We look at something like mtv in. It's all reality television. They changed their format. You see him. He was hanging on for minute. They still play videos but they are going. You know to licensing old movies and you know what i mean right two daughters guys all have kids too. You know they don't television is how is not how they digest thing. So how do you know about the importance of video the role of the person. I was peripherally involved. I did art direction on rush videos and so on but ever video director. I often wanted to be. I thought i could be very. I saw how much work there was involved in doing it. I also i also saw some of the the varying budgets involved in how much was expected. You know I money out of it is. It's ridiculous yeah. I think one of the reasons you don't see videos as much now as is people are to hip to being. 'cause the brits were very very clear on calling videos commercials they would call them commercials instead of videos and i think that's telling term because to try and sell any young person today music. They need to find it on their own. So if you package something up and make too slick. That doesn't mean that if you do a youtube piece there's a performance is a section of performance in the youtube piece. It wouldn't speak to someone but it needs to come off as you know. It's like watching harry styles. senior The howard stern show if you've never seen crawl performance prolonged what's nice charming about it but telling as you see how talented he and his band is. But it's right off the floor. And that stuff. I think speaks more to people now than than a david mallet video for and there was a couple of russell mulcahy david they did. All of the aerosmith whitesnake right. Yeah which men with their smith where their videos were just. Oh yeah epic mini movies man. And i mean that that was during the giddy grip hair which et hugh did the cover for the grip album. Nan that's a great cover to the car right. And that knows mommy. Cowan indiana's in indiana cow henry. County cow yeah. You did so much. Great stuff you've been. I'm gonna i'm going straight to your next step google when we finish this up. I'm going to look at all your stuff. Thanks i i hope you enjoy it and ad. It'd be honour work with.

So the Golden Globes were over the weekend and the Golden Globes as always like. It's the party award. Show the also down in Hampton and they drink and they just drink drink drink drink throughout the whole thing so it's a lot of fun and so a lot of times like everybody's like getting drunk especially they don't win they get real boost up so it's way to cope with exactly Zo. Libya Coleman was nominated for best actress. In a television series crown. I don't like her in the crown know you. I don't know why he's so good. WHO's the other one that I like her so much? So just side note. I was looking at so. If you notice like Claire. Foy and Vanessa Nisa Kirby both have beautiful blue eyes. Because it's reflective of the Queen and Princess Margaret Right rely. They haven't Blue Eyes. Olivia Coleman in Helena. Bonham Carter do not have lives. They have Brown eyes and so I was like interesting like what's going on so I started doing some research as to like well. How did it go from like clarify and Vanessa Kirby having blue eyes and then to Olivia Colman in Helena Bonham Carter having Brown eyes and so they said that they were actually like having them put right like blue contact lenses lenses but like it look like Olivia Colman and like it just kind of like masked they're they're acting acting like it made it look really like sorting fake and so they were like okay so no contacts anymore and so they got to keep their brown? Is I feel like Olivia Colman. You did a beautiful job oric and she won.
