Do Vaccines Contain Fetal Cells?

"Do vaccines contain fetal cells. The short answer is no. The long answer is sorta and so. I'm going to read this to you. And you can decide and i we. I trust this source. That gets pretty much. As i understand the argument about the fetal cell lines some vaccines. According to this documented again these are others that say pretty much the same thing some vaccines have been produced using fetal cell lines which are very different from fetal tissue. Fetal cell lines consist of cells that originated from abortions. That took place decades ago. Since then the cells used in vaccines have been grown in the laboratory. No new fetal cell lines have been used fetal cell lines are used to make a handful of vaccines but not all the vaccines use them in. Nineteen eighty five. Scientists obtained retinal cells from an abortion. That have been used to grow. The common virus used in vaccinations and cancer. Treatment retinal cells are in our eyes and help us see. This retinal cell line was used to create. The johnson and johnson cove in nineteen vaccine. It is true. Here's the complete answer and it is nuanced. It is complicated. It is true that decades ago cells from three legally aborted fetuses babies were used to grow viruses today. Five vaccines are made using descendants of these cells that have been grown in a laboratory. But that is not the same as saying that. Today's vaccines are made using fetal cells human fetal cell lines were used to make vaccines and the nineteen sixties bottom line. Vaccines do not contain fetal or human dna. Even though human cell lines are used to create vaccines. Vaccines don't contain someone else's dna so again. It's fairly complicated difficult. It's a it's a new. But i would defend your right to say if the vaccine that i'm being ordered to take has been produced using fetal cell lines and i am a pro-life american and i believe strongly that i don't want that in my body. How is that. Not a religious objection.

"I'm sixty one years old slightly a little bit overweight. I got ten or twenty more pounds. I'd like to lose. I don't know what kind of risk that am. I high risk. If i die of covert i guess i would have been a high risk. How many people have we heard didn't have any commodities and died of covert not everybody who dies with coverted has a bunch of pre existing conditions. Right listen to what this reporter jennifer that care. Tv in minneapolis. Saint paul says at the beginning of her report treatment only works if you get covert and you're also at high risk for severe disease. Now listen the treatment only works if you're at high risk that doesn't even make any sense. That's not even logical. It only works if you have and if you're at high risk really that's what it works so if you're low risk it doesn't work you see what they're doing. And i'm not a conspiracy theorist but do you see why the media is a trusted. Think about that. It only works these these antibody treatments. "Unvaccinated. Healthcare workers are being fired in america. They've now got a nursing nursing shortage in new york 'cause they're firing nurses and medical personnel. Who don't wanna get vaccine the vaccine but unvaccinated illegals or pouring into the united states. What kind of a funny farmer we in. I really do feel like we're going crazy. Here is tucker last night with no power whatsoever. Who worked around sick people for the duration of deadly pandemic and rather than thank them. Were firing them. With no unemployment benefits and no health insurance and a lot of them state of new york for example the deadline for healthcare workers. The vaccine is already passed. according to most recent figures. Sixteen percent of the state's hospital workers eighty three thousand people remain unvaccinated. Eight percent of those workers have not gotten a single dose of the vaccine that they're going to be fired so the question is once again who's going to staff the hospitals in the middle of this public health crisis. Well that's an easy answer. According to the new governor of new york one no one voted for the state of new yorkers gonna use the military to do it and then hire temp workers from the philippines it's lunacy and by the way once again why exactly are all these healthcare workers thousands of them nationwide refusing to get the covert vaccine that is entirely fair question and no one is asking it. It might be worth finding out. You can't see this you. People don't understand the science in fact they might know more about covert and healthcare than your average democrat governor. Considering that's what they do for a living they treat people with cova every single day. So it's not like they're uninformed what is this exactly. It's not a few people it's thousands of people why no one cares punish them. The weakest now crushed meanwhile is for firing nurses and doctors were beating thousands of illegal immigrants into this country right now many of them infected with diseases including cove it. "There's a new study out. That is really getting circulated. It's actually a couple of weeks old. i haven't seen it though. Comparing sars cova to natural immunity to vaccine induced immunity reinfection versus breakthrough infections. Study is quite stunning. But a new study published by it split into three groups fully vaccinated individuals may be at greater risk of cova than those unvaccinated. According to this massive study people who had taken both doses of pfizer jab are thirteen times more likely to have a breakthrough infection and are even at grassley greater risk for kobe nineteen hospitalizations. Wet Notes - 9-27-21

"This is wet notes here on scuba shock radio for monday. September twenty seventh two thousand and twenty one first up. I want to congratulate tech clark and a dive locker. Podcast on celebrating the second anniversary for those who don't know about this. Podcast tech. Started this to help die professionals with various topics and techniques. But it's not just for dive professionals. I remember listening to the first episode. Way back in two thousand nineteen just before dima that year i've come to look forward to each weekly episode tech plans to keep the show going and has teed up a lot of great new content for the year year ahead. So i'd encourage you to check out the dive locker podcast. There's a lot of great information and perspective on things that hopefully will give you something to think about. Scuba shack is a proud patron of the dive locker. By the way tech also hosts a podcast titled the league of extraordinary divers. Where you can listen to some of the giants of our industry. Great job tech. Keep it coming now. I don't know what it is. But i seem to be a sucker for a message in a bottle story. So here's another one this time. The story involves a bottle that was washed up on the shores of the big island of hawaii. The bottle started his journey thirty seven years ago from japan and it was put in the water by school children. As part of an experiment in monitoring ocean currents the number of bottles were cast into the ocean in nineteen eighty-four from choshi highschool hawaii's about six thousand kilometers or four thousand three hundred miles from the launch point now. The bottle was found by abbie graham while her family was visiting a beach near hilo. It is estimated that about seven hundred and fifty of these bottles were tossed into the ocean between nineteen eighty four and nineteen eighty five. The last time one was found was in two thousand and two on kake. Jima island overall. The bottles have been found in seventeen. Different locations including okinawa the philippines china and even the west coast of the united states. I just get fascinated by these stories and often wonder just how many messages in bottles are out there in the ocean now. Last week we got an email from the clearly clearly came in resorts and it wasn't good. News clearly came in resorts include cobalt coast on grand cayman. Little came beach resort and cayman. Brac beach resort. The news informed us that the cayman borders will remain closed until two thousand twenty two. Now that's tough at a recent press conference to premier indicated that phase. Three of the original plan will start sometime. In february given the rise in cove in nineteen cases the resorts are now planning on opening on february. Fifth two thousand twenty two. Now this has been a really tough situation. If you remember way back in april i reported that the plan was to open in late april or early may two thousand and twenty one. It's been a long and difficult road for a lot of places. Surely the caymans are feeling abroad. We hope it gets resolved before october. Twenty twenty two trip yet. That on certain there's been a great deal of communication coming from tom. Ingram the president and ceo of dima the dive equipment marketing association regarding the two thousand twenty one show in las vegas. Tom unequivocal be states. That the show has absolutely no plans. Of cancelling now they did indicate that accordance with the local health mandates. Everyone will be required to wear a mask on the exhibit floor. There are several large past exhibitors. Who are forgoing the show this year causing some to question whether it should even take place. I know we've been getting a lot of surveys from our vendors as to whether we plan to go or not right now matt and i will be there. Tom indicated that it would be extremely difficult to cancel at this late date. Given the contracts that are in place and that if it were cancelled it would seriously impact demon's ability to put on these shows in the future. So we're looking forward to a successful show this year out in las vegas and finally today. I wanna talk about a piece of underwater camera gear that you might just want to consider. There was an article from sport diver magazine by john widow titled great camera accessories for underwater photography. It was a scuba lab review of the products that the staff took diving at alexander springs in central florida. First on the list was a sea life. Sport diver smartphone housing. Now that's pretty cool. I can remember my first. Underwater camera was sealife. Reef master with a whopping three mega pixels now. This housing will fit a number of iphones and android smartphones. The housing is bluetooth enabled and his rate it to one hundred and thirty feet. The sea life sport diver smartphone. Housing comes with a vacuum seal and duly alarms when you purchase the housing. You'll get a free app that will give you access to most of your phones. Usual camera functions also included is a red filter. And if that's not enough to housing allows you to put in those sealife life color changing moisture. Munchers he i remember those now. The housing isn't cheap. It retails for two hundred ninety nine dollars and ninety five cents. Us but if you wanna travel light and still get some great underwater shots of your adventures check out the c. Biden slips into political quicksand amid Haitian migrant buildup

"Starting off the show. Tonight we have a discussion about joe biden. Apparently he's doing more deportations than trump specifically deporting more asylum seekers than trump did well. Yeah we don't have the other categories of deportations as the numbers that That we came across. And it's a shocking number. I don't know the entire number. But i have here the us Moved over six thousand. Haitian asylum-seekers from the border at del rio so that's just haitian asylum-seekers just recently with you know the whip's did see that. Oh i saw that very scary stuff. There was ice agents. I guess they're ice. Sported patrol agents. Scroll on horseback whipping people catalyst. Yeah like cadillac. Wrangling them with whips and hitting them with the long whip. It looked incredibly frightening and in and scary to be in that situation with a bunch of armed men on horses attacking people who are just trying to escape the hellish life of living in haiti. And do you think the biden voters expected this to happen because the people on the left like biden love to position themselves as the friend of the immigrants they acted like trump was the worst for immigration and right immigration. I mean right. When joe biden got elected like somebody. I know got a deportation letter. Just and they're telling him oh. It's been a lot worse recently under biden. They told him that his friends sorry like his friends. That like is also a legal immigrant. Types may know some other people like that well according to the same place that you're looking here. It's says twitter account. Aj plus they're citing cnbc saying that biden is using what's called title forty two to expel asylum-seekers without a right to a hearing so you know what asylum is right. Yeah when you leave somewhere that is you're gonna die there or they're gonna put you in prison for the rest of your life or thereafter you for for whatever reason and the numbers here are just shocking. According to cnbc under trump and remember trump had four full years. And we're not even through year number one biden four hundred and forty th over four hundred. Forty thousand people were Were expelled under this title. Forty two during the trump administration and six hundred ninety thousand have been expelled under the biden administration under title forty two so that's a tremendous level of increase because if if biden is able to keep up the same amount over the next three years. Yeah he'd be like twenty four hundred weight. It was six hundred ninety thousand right now so yeah that'd be well over two million people well so you know that is just absolutely horrifying because these people if they are indeed being prosecuted or persecuted. They're going to be sent back to likely their deaths or likely to a prison cell. Yeah it's probably worse for you if you try to leave and then they find out about that absolutely it is. Let's see there's other story here from cnbc biden. Administration appeals judges order. This is from less than a week ago to stop. Expelling migrants under trump era pandemic policies. So there was a judge who said they need to stop using title forty. Two and biden is appealing so this is yet another example of how joe biden is more like trumpy than the trump haters thought. That trump was like people hated trump for all these different reasons and biden has continued trump's policies and crank them up. Yeah my friend. Sent me this weird video of biden today. It was him when he was younger. You know he. He's always been in government office. So i don't know what his title was at the time but he was being interviewed. Probably a senator or something. Yeah and he was saying he was saying. What do people think. I care more about bosnia than haiti because it's white people in bosnia and it's you know black people in haiti and then he just went on and said well if haiti sank into the ocean. I wouldn't care just like that was his answer to that was like what is that supposed to mean. Well i'll tell you clear what it means. It means he has no empathy right to say that about another an entire group of people living somewhere on the planet to say they just if they just all died one day he would have no concern whatsoever for that and you juxtapose that against what he says while he's running for office which is to make himself seem like this all caring. Oh the democrats we care about people that's clearly. Bs tel aviv From penn and teller thought he was going to heal us all with his love. Is that what taylor said. Y- you read that on the show. It was numbered teller's lider new saying let pendulum but tell her was going along with pen from what i could see. So presumably teller didn't disagree otherwise he wouldn't have been in the photo op. Yeah just mixed them up. Sorry according to the story here. Cnbc biden administration appealing. A judge's order to stop using a trump era pandemic policy that allows for the rapid expulsion of migrants without giving them a chance to apply for asylum. So they're using covert as the excuse. The departments for his just cove it. That's why we had to have horseback riders with the because of it. It's just you covered. The department of justice filed an appeal of district. Judge emmet sullivan's ruling thursday bars. The federal government from expelling migrants under the public health law known as title. Forty two sullivan. The ruling to go into effect in fourteen days the appeal is the latest move by the bided administration to address the twenty year high surge of migrants from mexico and central america crossing the border illegally which remains a political flashpoint between republicans and progressive democrats title forty two is first introduced by donald trump in march of twenty twenty over concerns about the corona virus pandemic. It gave the government the power to turn back any migrant caught crossing the border illegally regardless of their country of origin to supposedly stop cove nineteen. So if you had managed to escape from north korea and you made it to the united states which is no easy task. Mind you. it's one thing to get here from haiti or guatemala. Or duress or something. It's a whole other story to get here from north korea. But if he'd managed to and they caught. You did it cover. Nineteen you gotta go back to north korea and you back to north korea where you would certainly either be put into a hellish prison labor camp and then of course all your family members have probably already been put into a prison labor camp. Because that's what they that's how they roll over north korea. If you try to escape or you do something bad. They punish your whole family for it. So you know you're going to prison and it's going to be like the worst possible prison labor camp experience basically on the planet right now if they don't just go right ahead and just summarily execute you but this quote from a man at the border a haitian man with two children. More available and madonna is has been approved and a couple of the pharmacies have told me that within a couple of weeks die will have it but if you're eligible now go and get the is it if your if you spec to you dr nassar thing because if you're if you're fifty or or sixty don't wait to get vaccinated iva sixties is is the one that people have the doctor chancellor right about now. Jackie you've sparked by the sixties. But i from september thirteen ages. Twelve to fifteen will also have availability of devices. Aga kids in that age group. Who are actually working in. It's very challenging. Because they wanna they wanna cape ending the the money they want their independence but they can't get vaccinated saipem september thirteen though be availability in various prices. I'm not sure wearing line card. Exactly little baby. Just go to log onto the website and say well comes up. I think it'll be fis of for that age group but again when you're talking about kids going back to school they're the ones that are also spreading it so we want to get as many people from all ages vaccinated and i think what will happen. Is that the riceville. Respiratory center in rodriguez Respiratory center will have Fis up pretty soon for that age group that that should make it. Easy nichols is always behind bushes. Well absolutely not jackie. We we have to focus on covered one of the things. We're still leaving the house to drive at the shops and things like that. How do we find out if there are any areas of exposure in the area. Yeah you know what's really interesting Siamese health used to always list all of the exposure sonnets but of course the hoses bolted next team. Many of them signed new south. Wales no longer list exposure sites in greater sydney only do them for the regional centers. Because i can still keep a handle on them. So where do you find out well. Luckily in the has a huge amount of writing reports out there. And if i see songo pedal was the calls. An ample obey pay bank tellers and so i can't guarantee that we're covering one hundred percent but as soon as we find out we gonna fight it through calls with maintain and then we get it up so please keep on looking on out in the car of main page on facebook and offer a weaker of you. The guy's not winston use litt- summarizes through awake. Sorry that's the only way we're keeping up today but at least that's a great community service i think in the kinds of So if you're worried orderonline it's not hard on highly recommend ordering online. We have a lot of local independent Just and fruit and veggie shops in line card and they all with four independent is in every one of them does online deliveries. Or you can ring them. And i will deliver to you because one of the things that we are getting is that the willies. Kohl's if hacking bit long because they have to send so many people down when this exposures so order local win win and also fig tree grain chrysler that order online but you can email them or you can find them. Thou- pack it all up you driving. You find them. And i come out and put striding to your birth. That's another thing to to bear in mind is that we do have lots of places at a little bit independent that you can use your second. Get an amazing range of food. I mean you've got everything from indian. Through the springbok the lot in lane cove and spend lots is very very popular. One thing in line card is that. We're not really into be franchises. We hold the ana of mcdonald's closing down in line cards because we just don't. We don't like franchises. Having said that there's there are few inland the dual because i've got local businesses And all that so many little small businesses around by lancut moms and dads and they struggling big time so What i would like to say. Is john fish that you can do. Click and collect so you can order through their website and then they will arrange for you to pick it up when you going and getting if you are at about getting vegetables and literally year. You're in an ass being bendable and you can click and collect debt Bay you natural the source line carve jewish. You can click and collect at the moment. The hunted arsim. Lean on the bench by buchory. There is an all of everyone of them. Not just nine are all lined by moms and dads. So you're supporting independent. The other thing. I'd like to say is that and this is quite disturbing trend. Is that when we had the fist. Look down in. The curve was very we went out there and we said if you're elderly all you're vulnerable or you need help come to us and we'll find someone for you and we'll work with signage media services and i have a food bank. Didn't hear anything the fist time. If people needing help this time i'm getting emails from people saying both my by moscow from my spouse have been made redundant with struggling. Do you have any ideas what we can do and are for them to in community services because they on a nine nine spices. I don't ask any questions that they help you. That got a food bank and that would please don't be afraid to give them a positive unit at all if you need if you know someone who's struggling so that sydney community services and have a food bank and also if you would like to donate to them they really like kohl's believes patches because then i can give it to someone inside look gong. "Baca from the five and jackie equipment podcast while but i mean in these crazy. Covert lockdown times. I feel like time has got its own momentum. So who knows when we had the last one well rob the problem is i have been in head down art because of the covent news has just been coming thick and fast. I've probably left my people so when you say to me let's podcast. I've just been snide under that. I've made today. Because i've got some really important points to make batch cliven information and look i. I think one of the things that we're all sharing this worldwide shade from the east to come but having avenue the podcast and in the car and all these kinds of things to express. What's going on find that information. It's a it's a valuable to that. We must cape easing so everyone. Just remember buzz. Ice exercise mental health speaking of exercise. Jackie what are we fantasize podcast well. Today's podcast gonna guard through inflation. About co bitten. How you can find out about covert cases in lane cove and wait and get vaccinated. But at the end of that podcast. We speak to andy smith from north shore. Running an apple fitness who. He's a columnist on in the car. If people love his articles and he's just going to talk a little bit about how to get outside and exercised during covered nineteen. And how to make the most of your excise town mccormack saudi to speak to end the actually seen andy but whizzing by. He's fast. he is fast. Can i tell you a funny story. So i was. This was before locked down one could move. I was on my way to a friend's pricing castle. Crag and i looked up the window and i saw this man with a beautiful running style over. Gosh andy and he's not in line car he's in castle. Craig style baked him to way. And i shouldn't have done it because the pope has new in front of me was the pay on and i thought i was abusing them and the month and why the mothers out the window screaming at me telling me have route and i felt so bad when all those during was promised i hello andy castle crag i'm sure everyone now we'll get over the joys of leaving out. Lgi what a what a fantasy that feels like. Now i have not left out in content. You and what's more. I don't think i've left my house that often either. The anytime i go to is when i need them to grab something from the cameras and that's got it in the coast news. How do you find out on a daily basis. What's going on in lane cove. I mean we all we all watch the eleven o'clock gladys and there are lots of bits on the numbers and what she's gonna wear. But how do you find out what's going on in line because there is a web such cold new south wales data set and you can go in there and click the to download Covered stats eljay and it will tell you How many cases per day there are of covered montaigne cases in langkow council area and that includes Every suburb deadline cars. And greenwich is greenwich is touted. Lanker cancel area but doesn't include a beat of land north. And that's the bit that is on the moog race public school saad because that is part of willoughby and at the moment site. Today is the This this week we've been tracking fifty two cases since in the last four weeks but of the active cases went down to twenty nine An active case is defined as someone who is in inauguration and under the control of new south wales health So and also you can just also google if you go. Luckily quad cases filed gi. That low fat come out. So that's how you find out. And within nash. You can do a search show you. The number of cases in the two is six six guide. And it'll show you the number of cases in the to i six fahd postcode to a six five being greenwich Subject how you find out the number of cases in line cards Now what does that mean. Well it means that we copy complacent we don't have the number of cases in black town and The suburbs have. But you. i need a couple to sprayed. And so we we've got a united gop scanning and get vaccinated. That's the k. And talking of vaccination vaccination right at the moment is really doing well raw number. Look lock cy full. Algi which is number seven in terms of all the is that whilst vaccination rights of the people who are eligible seventy nine point five percent of i have stars and fifty two percent a fully vacs that that will help. Bring the numbers down. Because obviously if you'll vaxjo let's you'll less likely to to spread it or if you do. You might have a high bar lied. They are talking about opening things up when we hit that magic. Seventy or eighty percent of changes from dieted. I about out chance to sit in. A restaurant will sit outside. At a restaurant girdle. Public club is underpinned by people. Getting one of the two jabs on. I think there's a third one hitting the market said areas and let let's talk about that so at the moment Isaiah's every way you can walk into any pharmacy in land. Cars will want any fancy but must found season line. Card gavin saw review. Wade's the greenwich wan and the optimal pharmacy on long road. And you can get the is it. And as dr chances everyday she surprised at the number of over-sixties who haven't got vaccinated when the so much is that around and what she said is spacey. Dr safe it's fear because any any time you talk to your doctor. It's ball build a different costume anything. If you're talking about vaccinations and then gone get vaccinated. So if if you know someone who's being a big concern. Tell him to space the doctor. I actually did that off. Got civil underlying health conditions. That i was worried about. I went to my doctrine. Since should i get vaccinated and He said that the risk may was much higher not being vaccinated vaccinated felt had a sore arm felt a bit nauseous for three or four hours. And that was the whilst. I got my daunting world vaccinated..

"The highest. And then this one all right. Let's see where we ended up. All right painda what you think about this movie. Your hot take so. I really liked this movie. I i'll tell you why. I like it for a couple reasons. I like it. Because i like alleys character in this. She's not effervescence. she's not the bubbly person. she's on interesting. Well i think she's more serious. Like i think and i like that i did not mind it. You know murray. He's the same in every movie he ever plays like he chuckles a lot in this movie. He chuckles mount tackle head. He's he's he's real chuckle boy. The plot does not make a lot of sense here. And i mean that sincerely. This plot could easily be resolved in a couple minutes with anyone who uses their brain at all and so as a result of that. This is unfortunately for me the worst of the summer movies. But you like the law die like it but i think there's frank the season this is. This is as standard by standard for me as homework. Movie is you can get. But that doesn't mean i disliked loved the locale. I liked the vibe. That they were putting off. There's some really fun scenes with the clam bake. You know the claim beggars really fun for you. I think it was endearing how because they were baking clams and they were all toasting one another and you could tell us just a little intimate connection. The they're just friends. I would have you guys over for clam bake if i like clams clams so i probably wouldn't do it but if i were to do you guys and we'd all do you sell your you're just you're just voices gun So yeah i have this as a big fun may four so four thousand four movies or four out of ten for so decided. When i said four out of four i realized that's or tens bad okay fund. Maybe six six but last time it wasn't out of ten last time it was no it ended up being out of it. It was ten s. We originally thought it was a ranking a lot and gave it a four of ten. Yeah i i do. Because it's i think you just gotta understand. Four and five to me are underrated. Numbers i think that you as a number there attentive to. I'll go now for me this movie. What you like that as you thought it was good for me. This movie has two very distinct Moments one is Pre kissing one post kiss from the movie kind of splits into two different enjoyment Things for brands pre kiss was a bit of a snooze fest risk free. That's exactly right. Callback season was. It was a snooze fest. A both characters. Were trying out snooze. Each other's like i never thought i'd see the day where chad michael murray was bringing the energy in comparison but that's what was happening but then something's switched posts kiss. The kiss happened the scene where they end up kissing happens and after that. It's just a totally different thing. I really enjoyed the two of them together post kiss. I thought it was a lot of fun. So i don't know how to process that i don't know what to do because the the pro the movie before the kiss. I don't think it's possible for me to have cared less about it. Yes but the movie posts kiss. I wanted more them. I more together. I really liked him together. That kiss was hot sauce. So i don't know man it's tough for me. I still got to spend some time praying about it a little bit longer. But it's it's right there in the middle. I think big big fund. Maybe six might be correct. Yeah yeah posts kiss fantastic pre kiss snooze fest twenty twenty two twenty two thousand ten ahead. Yeah it's the headliner so far you to the headline so far for so far. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This movie is is a dumpster. Fire like it's legitimately terrible Especially before the kiss i. Here's all i know is. We're counting on the walking. Ambien chad michael. Murray to bring the energy in this relationship. I was saying again of the two leads. Chad michael murray is trying to pep it up some. We know we're in trouble right off the bat. The kiss is completely on earned. Movie is fixed in under thirty seconds to minutes. No no hair fixed appear good idea. That's the movie role credits roll credits. We fixed the entire ever. Lovin town can't fix a few blocks at the end of the beer. Well what do we don't have ocean gear. What's happening right now this movie. I don't know if we're supposed to be pulling for the big city or the small town. I don't know if the movie knows. I do know that. No one cares about being in it and is sleepwalking through it. One of the worst of the year. They definitely the worst of summer. It's a no go. It's an absolute no go for me. I think yeah. I mean post kids. I do have above aloha hawaii but the pre kiss is just such a awful but they don't kiss until the final man no acting like that's a mid way no and that's a big problem. It's a big problem so big problem. Maybe five problem maybe five. Maybe i will say. I don't know what i would prefer like the old story line of big city being bad because that's not the story line here. Storyline is. We are actually all cool with resort coming in and saving. Yes that sounds wonderful. But what i what is a hard thing to get over. Is this idea that somehow a resort and a appear are usually. Yeah thank you want appear so it was just such an odd thing to get elite. It's literally just pure after one after another after another. it's wild they call it a beach. No no they don't wanna try again here. Dole can appear myrtle. Take out the murder. You add the peers peer deal. It's pretty cool. A theory about this. I think the kiss seen was the first thing that they filmed of the movie. And these two actually like had a little something something going on and then they got mad at each other and the rest of the movie. They did after that first. This white the theory. That i find it very hard to believe that these two had not like didn't know each other before this meeting the world in which they were but the kidding i'm saying like she was a disney channel girl. He was one tree hill. She worked for the cw after this on some show like they definitely known each other. The kiss does not match up with the chemistry hardcore. It's unreal.

five Four six two both characters Murray disney channel four thousand tens ten two leads first thing under thirty seconds Chad michael murray One four movies Ambien chad michael chad michael murray one post one

"Gets there. I'm by media companies so look the important thing with in the cove followers is to keep following us in cape getting that independent local news. Because i mean jackie's their local newspaper in the area. Yes there's an osho times but it you couldn't call it local and in fact. Interestingly enough on the front page show times says the nostril times but you buy real estate dot com. A the bottom line is as a local. The best news is getting local. News and jackie you here on the ground and you've got a team of unpaid citizen. Journalists s arriving reporters are amazing. They me today and also. I'm the only one who goes to the land council meetings. I'm the only one reviewed one hundred ninety one budget papers in the last budget for lancaster council. I'm there every link council meeting asking questions. And i know that i'm looking at what they're doing. And as you probably saw last year rob. I was in the city morning. Herald when the land council decided that i was asking too many questions and alan sunderland. The very respected head of content at abc took it up. Took up the fight for me and speak to land. Council said look. You've got to recognize that that in the car is actually the local news. Well i mean. I think the role of a publication needs to keep the government local state and as well the federal into line. Awesome the questions. So i mean i didn't know that that legislation not having issue representing independence and also not calling the media companies into line for actually having to use those funds to fund journalism. We all want more journalism. I suppose i would like to more independent stuff to keep all our politicians in line Well there is a massive role because you know local issues matter. A lot of people say it's just roads recycling roads rubbish traffic local and saw important. Because really if you look at everything that touches you from a daily live a lot of issues are local and so you know if you have trouble getting to work because the roads are jammed. It's a local issue jackie. "Special editions are good things christmas. Melba cop mother's day whatever but today it's not a good thing now we're going to tell you about a saddle event that tad massive implications around australia and in particular in the the what we're talking about is a facebook and their relationship with new thoughts. Which if unless you were born under a rocky public heard about it to cut to the chase. We're going to have one special guests on today's show. That's what happens in the cove stays in the curve in the kibe special guest. I'd like to introduce yourself special guests founder of jackie. Jackie i rob great to be here on. The puck. Hats now shoes on a different foot today. Jackie you can interview what happened within the curve. Well rob. Interestingly enough on this day. I woke up and i was reading a very interesting article about the news. Desert in the us and how lots of local newspapers had to shut down because there are no longer viable and how studies have shown that lack of local news had led to a decline in local democracy. Because no one was holding the locals to account. And i'm thinking this is my manager. This is why i'm hand. This is why i bring news to lane cove salenko. People are informed two hours later. I go onto my facebook page and guess what facebook had had put in place. The ban on sharing news and i was one of them. So when you went to my side it said no posts available but jackie. Obviously that puts you in a very enviable position. Because you were up there with channel nine. Ib say all the talk media companies in the country. Yes i was but also. Facebook took a very heavy handed approach to this and they took away sites that they shouldn't have for example in south wales health The leader of the opposition. W i they. They took every site. That may be the mentioned us away and that degrade a lot of problems absolutely. I mean i- retailers such as a book. Tokyo went down a range of community thoughts. And i think you know with the vaccine. Today beginning its roll out having News at facebook changing the rules and people not knowing to find out about things. It was quite a critical thing that happened. Well that's why and it was ridiculous in that are local organizations are impacted for example. Garra gallery langkow lost. Its facebook page the edible garden trial which promotes edible gardens in sydney. They were taken off so there was no rhyme or reason. So we're recording this on the monday after the thursday that's right. It's the twenty six to february the sites back and running. So what's there to complain about. Stop whining well. I would not want to accept it. It's not back with its its full capabilities south if i go and post anything from in the cove dot com today you to say hey. We've written a new article whether it's news or not because we are in news and media sites so we have hard news soft news and lifestyle news and if i post any link from in the dot com today you it will not be picked up by am facebook. They won't allow it to appear in your news feed so the newsfeed effectively now is filled with all the things we babies dogs and community events which are really important. But you're not gonna get your hard drive but that doesn't mean you still can't get it because he just go straight to our website in the dot com today you so it's about changing people's habits are supposed. Look i as a genetic data. I like facebook to. I liked to get my knees there because it was just one place. And i know that i can go different places to go to the news but it was nice having the fade. I've najib going to change my habits. That's right and instead of hitting that facebook app you need to just go straight onto in the car dot com to or and this is something that by the way is is relevant before facebook took this action last thursday more and more facebook are really really targeting. What you sing your news. Fate and a lotta people was signed me in the cove post anymore. My facebook page. And that's because every time. Facebook has been looking at what you are reacting to and if you're one of the many many people who say they love the cove and they see the post in and they click through but they never locked the post or engage or make a comment then a face In the facebook post won't be appearing in your fate anyway so this is just a reminder that it's probably a good idea to subscribe to a newsletter Which you can do by going to in the curve dot com today you on the sidebar. It says subscribe to a newsletter and the reason for that is our newsletter. Takes all of the the articles that we posted on facebook and dumps them into one place. And then all the week's events coming up and then other information that you might need and we put that out over the weekend and people really didn't subscribe more but we re we need more subscribers because facebook has shown that i can take away your access to local news like that to stop that. Actually you subscribe to a newsletter one of the things. I thought it was handled incredibly badly by facebook pew from a pragmatic point of view. So put the legal stuff aside scholley. They should have been able to give people a warning. Well there was one Women's agenda said that. I got an email about five forty five. Am sang that they were going to be taken on awesome. We didn't have any notice. In fact obsta posting until i realized that there was no rachel my posts and that's when i went to Investigate more and then. I made it lee rang at local member and said look. This needs to be looked at. And i think what we need to do is just talk a little bit about what created this crisis. And that's because they straddling government is trying to implement a news media bargaining code. Now who wants cisco will. I didn't ask for it but rupert murdoch news corporation and all of the lodge meteorite. Let's they want it. They say that. Facebook and google have taken most of the ad revenue in australia and that they driving people to their site by taking us from the publishes hit by the way post the news on their facebook page voluntarily knowing forces them to do that and so they say that the revenue has dropped his the issue. The news media bargaining code will not help independent publishes. I could never get any revenue from the co. because i'm not considered to be an official made your organization yet you ask eighteen thousand people in lane cove with i get their local newsroom and i will say in the five what jack. You're telling me that the big media organizations are getting together to after themselves. I'm shopped you would be shocked. Wouldn't you and the reason why facebook. They decided that they would take a big stick. Approach to this was the definition of news under the code and the kite is badly drafted and many people have said this from day one. Is that the definition of news. Any reports our investigation or explanations that are relevant and engaging australians in public debate that is the definition of news now fat is very wide news. Companies want that wide because it helps them but independent publishes. It doesn't help them. And here's the kicker the government say that the news media bargaining is there so that they can raise money for public interest journalism however in the code there is no ching aspect of it to show that the media companies have taken the revenue and invested in public interest journalism. And in fact. When i talk about the code that talk about content. They don't even use the word news so there are so many flaws in this legislation. And i'm going to take this opportunity to say hypotheticals in australia's a growing movement and we need some funding in the cove is solely funded by bringing langkow businesses. And nobody else have. You had any sort of reaction from l. local member he's view. Was that the liberal. Party's support this code. He Mentioned to me that he felt that. If the code didn't go through the sydney morning herald would no longer exist. I sort of had to to bite my tongue. And i said. Do you really believe that. Because there no way that one harold will not exist. Because if this doesn't go through and the other thing is that the media companies they've had a lot of time to change the way they operate and they've been slow and i've been caught up by facebook and google but also to. It's very complicated. Because you've probably heard the expression rivers of gold and rivas of gold was the classified advertising. Which really was an amazing source of income for traditional media a lot of those classifieds and now cossack dot com real estate dot com domain and a lot of those those Websites.

Jackie what's been happening in the coast. Well rob some very slotting stuff. The all the restaurants in the canopy now open with sunset. Donna being the last one to open and the place is robin absolutely rocking. And i have been very very excited about bringing some of my friends who don't live in lane cove to come and eaten lanker and not just the canopy at the other restaurants that have that have been numb. Inland co for years. We ought to spread. I love around. Look it's time in who is still at the end of summer approaching australia day and we really won't pay to not cook at and go to the restaurants in a safe conduct. Why some great stuff to eight. Well look thing about restaurants in council has come on board. Is that now owned. At door areas that link council used to charge a licence-fee announced free which enables everyone avow nearly everyone vow lane cove restaurants and cafes to have an outdoor area. What else has been happening. Say two words boarding houses. Boarding houses have been the go-to development in lane cove with aged care. But at the start of the year the first development application lodged with cove council was another boardinghouse development at forty-seven a pen right. Straight lanker cove west. Jackie for the uninitiated. What is a boarding house. Well i'm glad you asked her out because they're a boarding houses not as we knew it as we grew up then now called the next generation boarding houses. They are not ones where you would say. People who need affordable a homeless as such. they are now by students people so what what it is is that the whole concept of boarding has very different and boarding houses a now being used by developers to become a very easy way to develop apartment like living without having to go through all the hoops for apartments. Now the new south wales department of planning has reviewed this and Looking at making some changes because one of the things that boarding houses was supposed to be where you would have affordable housing but the not affordable for the people who need them and so they looking into that but in the interim there have been numerous applications in lane cove. Not all of them have been approved some half but the the next one is the is forty seven eight penrose street which is next to the celtics. Seven station on ben's by road so it'll look it's interesting. It's the way society's changing. I mean another office. Structures in the city is changing different Urban designs changing. It'll be interesting to see how boarding houses affects the dynamics within lane cove depends on how many people using it. But let's see what happens with that any other big issues in line cove. Well rob as happens every year. We have what. I call it dumping season starting so in january every year. People decide that it's time to clean out and declawed and that's a great thing about. We have saying a lot of dumping around the charity beans. And that's just not on there. So many different ways to get rid of unwanted autumn's that people just have to be a little bit more creative and i've written an article called the head on recycling. Inland cove will put a link to it in the notes on this podcast episode You need to make sure that you investigate. Different ways of of getting rid of of unwanted items and by using the desert it resort recycling. You're actually ensuring that things are going to landfill very sokoll. Langkow council does have four free council. Pick up a year now. That's great and we should all use them however anything that the land council picks up does go straight into landfill so what you need to do is have a look at the eighties. It on recycling. And see how you can repurpose a lot of the stuff that we're funding dumped outside the charity beans. Look i think it's just about bringing all these things front and center and being cognizant of not just saying it goes in the beans in. It's not my worry anymore. I think we all have to be aware. We just changed the The batteries in the in the code podcast microphone set up and i know that in the bunker. We've got a special Special battery recycling center. We do. I've got this box that then when it's full. I then take it to the community. Recycling center at Ottoman and. I'll give it to them when we getting rid of out any waste so stop dumping start recycling in the hot topics. Jackie what are some of the issues happening in line code this year well rob inland cove. And in fact all the new south wales council elections being held in september. Twenty twenty one if you are interested in becoming pass of local democracy in your community the now's the time to start thinking.

Straight is the the street where all the clock was. Wolves come out and compete every year and in fact at one stage. If you had to look at the straight sign it said street lots winner ninety three ninety four ninety five and the st on was getting so heavy with signs that they actually had to take them down and then just put christmas lights winners. Ninety one to two thousand or something was hilarious but anyway sutherland. Street lane cove is always great now the place that you need to look at his fifty three galling straight they were the winners of the lot lane cove competition people's choice last year and also you have to look at fifty eight fox street because wow there's a giant snowflake there but don't worry if you haven't got all of those details down because we will have a list on in five as much as we can but what i think people should email us if i if i say something i think wow this is this is really good year. I guess you hit me big balls big christmas baubles just what past and looked at them and said my gosh. I've got big balls. Look jackie you've shared a lot there. I personally don't even know. What a plinth is you know. I'm not even gonna try and spell it ahead of us the right to my better look that up. Anyway in the cousins is actually open. This christmas day well rob. I know that there were a lot of people in line coffee like that coffee. I personally have a phd in coffee drinking. And so i was look for place. It sells coffee on christmas day. I know i will problems now. In the cove every year puts out one an article which is very widely read college christmas trading hours over the christmas period and boxing day and new year's and we will be doing that again. But here's some hints for you. Jack inco in northwood are always open on christmas day. And let's face it. You gotta go. There is so also get your coffee and also use the hey you app to order it and you just walk in. Get your coffee and your eyes. That's very exciting of booked in my coffee now and the other thing is and this is big news. Normally there are no restrictions. Open lane cove on christmas day. The all caught tried at one year and it really didn't work however one of the new restaurants in the canopy cold masala kitchen which is indian and modern indian and very good. They told me lucky manage lucky by name lucky by nature. Hey told me that. It's open on christmas day now. I looked at mr. rotc and said chicken for christmas. But you know what he's a ham man and we've ordered a hand from a local caterer and will enjoy that but anyway. I thought that was fabulous. Wouldn't you have better chicken for christmas. Jack what i have. Two christmases always very mysterious. Spent a christmas in new york where it's all about getting chinese. I'm interested in getting a bit of indian for my christmas dinner. "This is the in the coast podcast. Welcome to the podcast. My name's rob kaldor. And i'm jacky barca founder of in the cove jackie. It's that time of the year you can hear bells. I can hear. Sleighs can hear ho ho ho in going on you can indeed. It is christmas in the cove. Rawal tis the season to shop. Local fa la la la la la la. What humane push or political jackie. Well i'm glad you enjoy my singing. Because i have to say mr dc missile tc. Ben me from singing at the christmas by christmas carols in the plaza people. Don't sit near me but anyway what it is is this. We need your help. We've all done it had this year. Twenty twenty has been a year like no other. Don't you think rob account remember another you with the pandemic and cancelled olympic and during this year. We've all suffered but i'll local. Businesses have also suffered and interestingly with hive is many local businesses. That are actually owned by mum and dad's and then leave in line curve they also employ locals. And so what we'd like you to do is to shop local this year and take the pledge like five. Has i'm not going anywhere near a big shopping mall. i'm doing an old. Luckily we've just released our christmas gift guides or with local ideas and also some local online shops. So it's a great way of showing the joy luck in the cape things in the curb. Correct now rob. You may not know about this but maybe a year and a half ago the lane cove gift card was launched. I can't the lane cove gift. God is geo fenced can use it in lane cove so if you're looking for a gift which supports local businesses and is a gift for someone who you think might enjoy going out to dinner or a cafe in lane cove or having assange in lane cove haircut beautician. They can use the length of cut. So it's the gift that hashtag keeps on giving absolutely nuts. I like the idea of going out to dinner and using the gift card as long as well as i think gladys's giving us little restaurant gift this part of service. New south wales. I think all adults get twenty five dollars so that can use in restaurants that can. Yeah but that unfortunately doesn't stop killing a yeah so the i say it is used the gift card. Now try out your favorite restaurant. You lock it in the car. Then guess what us gladys gladys will show e mail while rob always thinking. I like it. So where do you find the of gift card. I hear you say So how'd you find. It is that there are about four or five Places where you can buy the cod and you can put any value on it. Sounds that thirty dollars. And they upload for you so you can go to irish lynn which relocated to From longueville road to the burns bay plaza between four fish and two brothers which is actually funny because someone said they should be called three arson. Lean because there's two brothers are selena and four fish you can also get it from celebrations. You can get it from pulled as northwood and you can also get it from found gift in home with which is located in the plaza. Where for frogs now. There are several other places that you can get it but you can use it rob at seventy five different places within lane cove and not just the plaza langkow wis businesses. Northwood you name. It used in lane cove copy used outside of lane cove but it can be used everywhere in lane cove. So we'll have all the details on the links but plays think about the lane cove but also to think about shopping local in the cove. Hot topics so jackie. What's going on in the car of this christmas. Well robert gain been unusual. And we're not going to have one of the highlights of the year. Which is the launching of the lane of christmas tree. However lancaster christmas tree is lit up and it looks very good also There are no christmas carols and Basically any event that you would normally go to is not as on off this year. Which is a shame however we do have a easing of restrictions. Which means that you can go out to your local pub. You can go to the local arizona you can go to the local restaurant and you can have parties with your friends also distancing of course and i think in dance as well well. We've seen the way i dance. He probably wouldn't say that. I think you can have up to fifty people on the dance floor but don't quote me on that. We weren't quite you. But i did neither something in the canopy which i thought was quite interesting in. The canopy is a is a beautiful Big cage like structure. That sounds doesn't sound great but in fact it looks like a big president and it's leash up at night people have imposing it And it looks great. We've had young couples. All couples babies dogs all posing and relate shows. Love is in the air. Well i mean. Jackie it's a it's a great song and hopefully people are enjoying it and hashtag and instagram photos. Because in the end of the day it's time to celebrate. Let's use social media for gooden evil. So i'm i think i might take my little seventeen year old ham well. I think you shouldn't in fact. I'm going to upsell someone here. But we've got some someone in the code ferry munchkin pet photography and. I reckon you should get him to take a picture of you and your dog in the lane. Cove present in the canopy. Guess what else you can do in inland. That's a bit of fun rob. Please tell me. Jack what's fun. Okay so in the Langkow market square. There is a really lovely christmas tree. A real christmas tree and it's an as big barrel lots of and previously and i hiked to say this but previously the decorations in linkov markets gray. Let's just say haven't been that impressive. But this either i've come out with all guns blazing and they have a real christmas tree which is going to keep on coming back every year until it's too big and then it's going to be planted somewhere in lane cove bus. There's an internet interactive Have you say i on artificial intelligence and so what you do is use scanning the qr code and then an app down download an app and then you point to the christmas tree and all these cute little figures come out like come penguins and a car and they run around. And it's you think that all of and santa comes out so it's virtual reality in the market square shopping center so the kids will love it when they finish school. So check that one out. It sounds very exciting. Hi jackie i just realized you went and spoke to a few people and i did about. I mean this shortcoming bringing back shopping local. You spoke to a whole lot of local people. I did rav and guess what they told me what the things are for christmas this year..

"Us a little bit about what you're doing with delvina because it has great so actually delvina We've had a relationship with delvino. Almost since i started off actually now nearly six years. I know but russia the beginning i i. I don't know how it was. But i started talking to the coordinator delvina. The first thing was that she said that it was a real problem for them. Getting things people wanted to donate things but they obviously don't want to give away the address because it's really sensitive thing so i said well people can just donate and drop them off at us. So that's actually being what's happened ever since so whenever anybody wants to donate or we ask for things like you know occasionally weaver televisions or whatever. They just donate into us. at christmas. We get inundated by toys and presents for children and the other thing we've been doing Since covid as well because actually don't know people probably don't realize dalvin is being full absolutely full one or that one of the negative repercussions of covid one of the many negative ones nine increasing domestic violence. That's that's absolutely right. And in fact They delvina is run by an organization called manly warringah women's resource and i know that they've had to open another house. Because of the demand and and we were actually asked for nappies for new booms which that kind of upset me a lot to think about that so we were able to get all sorts of donations for delvina specifically for babies and for the mothers but one of the other things we were able to do was we. Were up to channel. Some of the amazingly don't Generously donated food goods. You know tens of chew tomatoes pastor you name it. We got donated. Oh keeps toilet rolls right at the beginning. We were overwhelmed by toilet rolls but we were able to then let delvina essentially the coordinator just came in. And we just take whatever you want and the other thing we go was. We had a very generous donation from harris farms and they were sending boxes of fruit and vegetables through the hunters hill office. Whether is a there has always been food bank which is interesting but a lot of the food. The fruit and vegetable came to us and so we were able to a week. Give delvina huge box of fresh fruit fresh vegetables and because it was from harris farms it was very good so so yeah i think i think we're sort of like a sleeping partner with delvino i would say every year. We help publicize in the helps promote the sydney community services for dr and there's always i very festive shopping. Caught putting the bottom of this. Is that on again this year. And how do we do. So yes this. Yea where we're going to partner with. Wis will put the cart at the bottom and it will be covered intent soul and last year. I think we were emptying it. Every other gay people were so generous and that was just brilliant because we do hampers for some of our clients and some of the more disadvantaged people in langkow. And we're able to. You know i thought to to the hampers and that people got lots of nice things like chocolates and special stuff. Joe one of the major ways that you raise funds is through one of lancashire's much-loved institutions village observer. Now the village observer had to take a break during covid as lots of publications did it's back bigger brocher embitter and also i've noticed available throughout lane cove. Can you just quickly tell us a little bit about about the tv. Oh and where people can get it. Yes so village. Observer is is actually owned by us through our foundation and we used to distribute it and daughter door but really that was quite expensive thing to do and when we closed down one of the things we had do was look at the costs because advertisers retired. Hasn't been doing too well so it's been quite difficult to be able to marry up the costs with production and also With the quality issue the standard. That we really expect so we have now gone to drop off points and there are forty three drop off. Points throughout lane cove in greenwich and over hunters hill. The main parts to to pick it up really going to be at outside calls analogy and woolworths there the main bins but you can find them all over the place at the at the swimming pool at the count saw a lot of the coffee shops taking it news agents to pharmacies Eve you can't find one you want to know where your nearest point is and give us a ring on nine. Four two seven six four to five. I will tell you all we. Can you know how we can get in the podcast available on spotify and apple podcasts. Well that's a wrapped podcast number three rob. you know. we're getting some great guests in pulled. Bene- was an absolute coca. We'll said jill from sydney community services and united. "In the club stays in the cave. Jill bat is the ceo sydney community services. Such an invaluable organization within the land cove council area and the hunters hill area. Hi jill how are you. Hello jackie yes i'm fine. The sydney community services has so many different services you offer. We have a whole range of support services which really designed to help people stay at home so that goes from things like home. Modifications building people ramps putting in bathrooms and kitchens are actually modified for them. We do maintenance. It can go from replacing a lightbulb. Which we do for free or a cycle on we then also have Nurses who provide community nursing and if necessary will going every day we give people showers. We do meals on wheels. We do linen. Which is i think one of the most valuable services which is giving people fresh clean sheets and bedding and towels every other week then. We also offer podiatrist for people who can't get out medical transports if you need to get somewhere. We do respite care for people who have maybe got elderly parents who know looking after but need a bit of time away from them a day off so we we provide that we we do Group services for people with disability obviously servicing. The elderly is very important. But you also do. People who've got time disabilities and disadvantage people within the community We do trips as well. We take people out. The bus trip already means to help anybody who disadvantaged in the community. I'm generally. It's not through our sort of main funded services but a lot of people in. Oh probably don't realize that they are actually living alongside someone who has got a great front. But maybe he's actually doing it quite tough and We we do get to know about that and where we can. We try and provide support an aid and you know help them out as much as possible so we get off funds from a range of different organizations. We get some funding for supporting older people from the federal government. We get support for some of our more community services from the state government and then we get a significant amount of sport from lane cove council hunters hill council and also ride counsel. So there's those three different forms of support most of the age and disability support our does come through grants from the federal government and they have all sorts of strings attached at acquittals and all sorts of things that we have to do in hoops increasingly more more hoops. So the way that people now access our services is generally having to go through what they call a gateway a gateway is either which is online or you can do it by phone and then fringe for people with disability through the end. Ndis so how do people access the service you can either email and that's support at sydney c. s. dot org. You could phone us on nine. Four two seven six four to five. We just pop in And also we do have another office. At forty six glades will road in hunters hill. So generally just pop in and callers. We can then work out exactly. What sort of support you need. And it might be face to face or it could be on the phone. That's what i thought. Because i've i would personally think that it's best just to contact you first and then you can give them the help and tell us how that would contact you first. So you're located in the little straight car park building pottery green building. If you are having problems or you don't understand what you're supposed to do come to us and we will actually guide you through it. So when covid nineteen hit you. And i had a lot to do with each other homemade basically meant that we had to completely redesign almost everything we did. We and that was without a lot of guidance. To be honest with you so we started from the about the end of january when it first started to raise its head we actually had a staff member who was returning from china and there wasn't really that much guidance around what do you do so we then took A decision was that she should stay at home. We would continue to pay her if she could work at home than that would be fine but she's a disability support worker so it's not a lot of things that she could do but the board very quickly made that decision that nobody at sydney community services would be stood down. And so that meant that we had a whole load of Staff who we up to redeploy so might have been things like contacting individual people who might normally come on. Groups might have been providing online shopping access for people that don't have online. But we could actually get spots through coles and woolworths have been just simply going around and doing the shopping for them. A lot of it was just around Providing comfort and contact for those people who are on their own having somebody they knew i from sydney community services. Ring them up and just say are you actually all rights. You know what is it you need. Have you got someone you can talk to someone doing your shopping. Then there were other services like meals on wheels where we are dependent on volunteers and we were a little bit worried because some of own are actually over seventy so they were kind of at risk. We were concerned that we wouldn't have enough people to deliver the mills and in fact that was it was fine there. The volunteers have been utterly brilliant and we made them jump through hoops as well. There's all sorts of training. We've made them do. They've had to wear masks. Whatever the linen volunteers that's the people that go in and change people's backs to begin with. We just thought that's a really does. That's a really intimate for someone because you got to go into somebody's home and into the bedroo- so initially what we did was we made arrangements to just leave clinton clean linen for those people who had a relative who could do it for them. I'm where there wasn't anybody. We actually sent the nurses in so we have like Five registered nurses who work at sydney community services and to personal care workers and we just added linen service onto what they did because they could go in full. ppa and that worked brilliantly And so he's been things like that. It's just changing the way we did things. And because i was being inundated with people in lane cove because it's such a volunteering spirit asking how they help vulnerable in the elderly so you and i decided that the best thing was to introduce them to you because it was so much better for elderly or vulnerable people to have a volunteer organization that had a a brand name and people trust rather than just a very very nice volunteer knocking at the door. Because it can be a little bit. Tom distressful and we worked together to do. Food drives get volunteers and we also worked on getting Some supplies delvino women's refuge. And can you just tell.

We moved so we moved marie street in lane cove and then As kids got all the week we then moved to where we now kuru road and we've been there all these years so we when we arrived. We were the youngsters now with really oldies poll. I would describe you as a complete creative person any recommendations for people that are created. Because you're a musician. You're an artist. How do you follow your dream. How do you follow. Your dream costs that such a good question. I think what one needs to do is simply be who you are and that does take courage and often takes courage. They're all kinds of influences impressions on people. There are prejudices Their ulterior motives and people can can say something to you but when they actually mean something else and two. If you like somehow navigate through what a what a very difficult obstacles very often to that point we can say yes. This is who i am. And i'm proud of this and i'm just going to be this and i don't care what other people think. That's such good advice now. What we really want to hear about is that there is a that is opening gallery langkow and for those who don't know there is in fact an art gallery in lane cove. You'd be surprised. People don't know and it is across from the lane cove library and your exhibition is called clouds zones and tell us a little bit about it of clad science and really ties if you like my in with my music because a lot of musicians understand what the zone is and i mean i. I love that interview that that key. From all instance. One student then interview. I asked him so. Tell me what do you think about when you play and keats. It don't think i feel and you know that's really what this what the essence of my show is about. Because what i'm trying to do is somehow juxtapose. This idea of the musician being in the sun with the idea of actually looking at clouds and just thinking higher thoughts. My whole show is geared towards an understanding of high consciousness of getting out of the mundane. If you like if you like the manucher of what life is about we live. We live a life of minutiae in the sense that we have to work. We live in society. We're one must make money to survive. And so once focused to the very large degree is on those. If you like things that are necessary for existence in a if you like an economic environment however is a part of their brain which loves to be free. Which would love to be able to think higher thoughts to think about those things that are actually going to make one a better person if you like And that's what my show is about. I don't even call it a show. I call those an installation well. I've got forty paintings on top of the forty paintings or cloud paintings. I also have a cloud sculpture. Which hoping to have in the forecourt of the gary and there are also painted. Mannequins zero free standing for mannequins. painted so-called the cloud women and. There's also one wall mounted cloud sculpture as well in the center of my show. I have a spice which. I'm calling the reflections on and i've actually created if you like hexagonal space with chiffon walls that hang down you walk into this space and you look up and there's an hexagonal painting but it's going to be mounted on the ceiling and it really just look up micro. Wish it's never too late. The show begins on the opening. Night is on the ninth of december. It runs two weeks prior to christmas and then two weeks after christmas. So i think i'll have a second launch perfect opportunity. Pull you look like emmanuel patty. So i can imagine that two launches would be just down your zayn. Well i hope you. I am coming people by the paintings. Oh absolutely they're all socil-. I'm hoping that people will buy the paintings. Not because they want a pretty picture on they will but because they want to if you like engage the philosophy behind what. I'm trying to do which is to raise consciousness. What happens.

So I've I've interviewed quite a lot of authors in in my time and you'd be amazed how many of those write books in libraries? I think there's something about the ability to be in a public place but quiet. Hm. Well, that's it. I mean I had when I was writing it we had wage, you know, I think a toddler at home and stuff like that and it was all a bit crazy. So yeah, I just walked up the road and went to the library and it's great. I wrote it I reckon I reckon all right about 15 to book. They're a bunch of it also wrote the stand not sound library in the in the in the New South Wales library that beautiful Mitchell Mitchell the Mitchell gorgeous room. That is so you sit there you feel smarter Choice when you're surrounded by books like that. That's why away glasses of people assume. There's like these actually do nothing, but they give me 10 IQ points that they do nothing. You know, it's well, it's you surrounded by books you think well wage Some of its go sink in somehow. I don't know fun fact, the line code library has one of the highest borrowing rates of any library in New South Wales. It's a brilliant Library. It's brilliant and not really if you want to find any information about land growth. You just email the local studies section of the line code library and they'll come back to you with the information. It is brilliant, you know, we love it and Thursday we spend have spent a lot of time there with the kids that are kids are bigger now, but they still go in there. It's good. So well Simon, thank you so much. As I said, I really want to get back when we can do a full book podcast and good luck on Election Day, which is what I remember the first Tuesday in November. It is Melbourne cup so you can bet on two races. How do you feel about the election coming up because obviously, you know getting Trump re-elected will bring you some business. However, it may kind of send the world into a bit of an Armageddon spin. Yeah off. I honestly people say oh, you don't want him to leave cuz cuz of the comedy and you know what the world and and and the piece that could be created with that man off as far more important to me than any joke, I could ride and on the flip side as well. There's nothing I could come up with that is part is makes you crazy as the stuff that Trump came.

"This is President Trump the greatest president ever and I'm in Lane Cove, which is probably the greatest it's a beautiful suburb. I'm going to build a wall around it. I'm going to get Tom going to pay for it. It's going to be fantastic. This is the in the coast podcast. Welcome to the second episode of in the Cove podcast. I'll make sure of it ROM this episode which isn't on the third Wednesday of every month is a special one cuz there are three big events happening obviously next week first Tuesday of November. It's a very special day. What goes on in Jack's I think it's the dog Huh? I'm very excited for the Melbourne cup. I always going with hope that I will win and I think you've given us a tool of winning potentially Jack I have normally I look at the list go. I like that name and boy that shot. He's got some really great great colors, but I met a lanco's legend Melbourne cup Max who has helped me have a few little whinging. So we look forward to talking to Max but you know something else that's happening on the first Tuesday in November. Where abouts would it be it's not a local event. It's actually an event that's going to affect the world is the American election. You may have heard a bit about it if it happens in Lane Cove I know about it, but I also do happen to know that there is a u.s. Election. Why would we be speaking about the selection off on in the Cove podcast? Well, the answer is is that in Lane Cove? We have a Lane Cove resident called Simon Kennedy who was a brilliant comedian and a wonderful job. Trump impersonator, and we wanted to speak to him about how his handled covid-19. So just to give us a little bit of his trumpisms and it is funny. So you got wait for that one. Okay. So a bit of the thoughts on will make it to the in the Cove podcast. Yes. That's right lane code will be made greater again. But Jack, you know when I win something in the Melbourne cup and I'm winning big this year after talking to Max. I want to spend my money and the thing that I like spending my money on is beautiful art any suggestions of you know, how I can do that. Well funny, you should say that in the first full weekend of November. It's the annual Greenwich Village Arts Trail where all these creative Greenwich people get together and showcase their working environment and the studio and you grab a map you walk through the beautiful Jacaranda line streets of Greenwich. You stop at the Greenwich shops. You have a cappuccino and you if you beautiful Stay tuned everyone. We've got a great podcast happening. in the Cove in the no we are blessed at in the Cove today to have Melbourne Office Max telling us about what's going to happen in this year's 2020 covert. Hit Melbourne cup. Hello Max. Hello, Rob. Hello Jackie. It's great to be here blessed. That's pretty interesting. I like that blessed to be here. That's got a nice ring about it. So I'd like to tell you a little bit about Melbourne cup Max or as he might be known by lots of people in Lane Cove Max Hitchens. Max is Australia's number one expert on the Melbourne cup and has a record that is amazing. How many times have you picked the winner of the Melbourne cup Max? I have a system that has not worked for twenty-six out of the last thirty-two years and the system as a is a matter of breaking the field down from from the 24 horses dead. To to bring it down to a six and then reducing it to 3 and reducing it to one now for 26 of the years. The winner has been in those chosen six 4:15 over the years the the the when I break it down to the one winning horse. I've been right fifteen out of out of 32. So it's it's a reason wage. It's reasonable Max tell us a little bit about how someone would find out about your predictions and and how you let them know who's going to win the cup. I do a an ebook each year Jackie and it's at pick the Cup winner. Which is easy to remember because you're good. Just got to think about what are we trying do each year we try to pick the Cup winner and I do an ebook and we sell it from the from the site and in the book is every race wage. Disconnected or has any connection to the Melbourne cup I've researched and I can and I'd put it all in the in the e-book telling you exactly who ran where what race long distance the everything connected with and I'm talking about all around the world. You see I focus on One race per year the Melbourne cup and any time there is anything written about the Melbourne cup anywhere in the world. I've got it on my computer the very next day. And so I really do focus on the the Melbourne cup totally Melbourne 2020s going to be a bit different. Okay the covert, we know what's going to be running in Melbourne. Will Sydney jockeys be allowed to ride Sydney jockeys are certainly allowed to ride some of the month already there Haley Bowman who is a I was I regard as one of the best jockeys in the in the country if not the world and he's already down there. He's chosen to go down. Live in Melbourne for the next 3 weeks too and he's been writing was writing last weekend. So yes that some will be some will choose just to stay in Sydney. Now, I'm looking through and I have the luxury and we haven't let you have this other luxury of of all the Melbourne cup horses. Yes, you know who won in nineteen thirty-seven? Yes, the Trump one another page 37. Do you think that's a vitamin and Iron Man? Cuz the election is the same days now because I don't think Trump is going to win in in America I think is going to be beaten soundly in in America. So is there another horse in the race called Biden? I'd be looking for something like that. You are always on demand on Melbourne cup you've been on a national television radio. They.

"Back in October. I started this new segment titled Your Next Dive. And since then I've taken you to Maui Ian Lohyna where we were diving with behind find a divers then. We traveled to little came in at the Little Cayman Beach Resort and most recently we had had it to Atlantis dive resorts in Douma Getty in the Philippines. We're back again and this time we're going to take you to Nassau Bahamas where you're next. Dive is with Stuart Cove. We've been running a shop trip for well over for fifteen years. Now with Stewart and Stewart cove has been around since nineteen seventy eight and. They're the biggest operator on new providence. Island they operate out out of the southwest side and because of its location. You're going to have to take a shuttle bus. Stuart Cove provides from your hotel to dive shop. There are a number of hotels hotels that are affiliated with Stuart Cove and for us we use aren't chill beach in. That's about fifteen minutes or so from the hotel to the dive shop. Orangeville is an ECLECTIC place and will not use your typical high end hotel. We've grown to like it aren't chill is inexperience now. Steuer we're coast facility is really cool. It's built like an old time seaport village. It was actually a set used in the movie flipper when they filmed it down in new providence island with Paul Hogan as you enter the gate you walk down to dock passed a myriad of dive boats to the main dive shop for check in. There's a lot of facilities here. There is a rental center there showers. There's a classroom. There's a gear locker a photo center and a fool will retail shop have quite a few dive boats and the best for me or the forty six foot. Newton's they also have a four other what they consider are large boats and two medium boats that you can charter. The boats are spacious well-maintained ready to take you to a whole lot of great dive sites. It's if you like rex. You won't be disappointed. There are many different sites to visit including things like see. Viking Port Royal Bahama Mama and the bond wrecks which which were used in the James Bond movies and one of my favorite sites is the ray of hope and I'll come back to that in a in a minute or so. Reefs and walls are abundant. There are approximately thirty five different dive sites one of the big reasons. I love. Stuart Cove in the Bahamas are the sharks. The animals are magnificent and again in the water with them is a profound experience. And that's why I like the ray of hope. It's located very close to one of the shark doc feeding areas and we can debate whether that's a good thing or a bad thing but I'm not GonNa get into that here. A lot of the sharks do visit the ray of hope and you. We can get some really great experiences on Iraq with the sharks diving around you. Doing Ford is a day like we often do. You'll come back to doc and you can grab a burger or a fish sandwich from the grill. Wow does it taste good and get you refueled for the afternoon guys. So so if you're heading down to Nassau Bahamas and you WANNA get some diving in a highly recommend that you take a look at Stuart Cove and his dive Operation Asian down there. It's a great facility and ready to take you to some great dive spots and get some really cool experiencing so that's it for this addition of your next dive.
