Why The 'Kevin Bacon' Factor Is Key To Understanding How COVID Spread In Nursing Homes
"In March, when the corona virus began racing through nursing homes. The federal government banned visitors. But Corona virus infections kept spreading. Professor Keith Chen tried to figure out why the people who we can infer work in this nursing home what other nursing homes do they work at Chen Study used anonymous cell phone data to help see the movements of people into and out of nursing homes. The data showed a lot of nursing home workers are like Martha working at more than one when you learned that over 20 of your workers are also spending time in other nursing homes, that should be a real red flag. Chen and his team found that on average, each nursing home is connected to seven other nursing homes. I also found the more shared workers. A nursing home had the more cove in 19 infections among the patients. Professor ELISA Long also worked on the study. There are some facilities In Florida in New Jersey, where they're sharing upwards of 50 to 100 workers again. This is over on 11 Week time period, but that's a huge number of individuals that are moving between these facilities. All of these are potential sources of coded transmission. The California Association of Health Facilities represents most nursing homes in the state. In response to the study, the group said they can't prevent workers like Martha Ta Pia from taking jobs elsewhere, and they can't pay them more because California doesn't pay them enough through Medicaid. But Mike Dark doesn't buy that argument. He's an attorney that works on nursing home reform. And he says the state already tried paying nursing homes more in 2006, that money tends to go into the pockets of the executives and the administrators who run these places. Instead, he says, regulators need to focus on the basics, especially in the roughly 100, California nursing homes with ongoing outbreaks. Right now there's poor access to peopie. There is still erratic. Compliance with things like hand washing requirements, and it's not just patients who are at risk. Nursing home workers like Martha Ta Pia are also contracting Cove in 19 in California alone. 152 of them have died since the pandemic began. For NPR News. I'm Jackie 40, a in Los

U.S. sees record surge in coronavirus cases
"Today. We have had what is the largest number of new cove infections in this country on any single day? Since the pandemic hit, we just hit a new record. This is the screaming headline right now the Washington Post America hits highest daily number of coronavirus cases since pandemic began nation is poised to enter its worst stretch yet of the pandemic with hospitalizations rising in thirty eight states. Wanted. To show you those statements tonight from Caldo Doshi in the ICU nurse and emily caps the. In part because of where they're from. Mr Dotion is an ICU nurse working at what is now converted into a full Cova D- unit in Duluth. MINNESOTA. But Emily Cops, the CNA she's in, as I said, a town called Quinta Kansas. Quinta Kansas is population one thousand. That's Work Winter Kansas's. It's four hours, drive north west of Wichita. If you're trying to find it on the map, it is as rural as rural America gets. That's what's happening. Now, that's what's driving this in the country. The last time we had case numbers anywhere near this Hai literally, most of the cases in the country at that time were from a handful of large population states for Florida and California and Texas and Arizona now, it's a handful of states it's everywhere. And there's something else I want to point out about where we are right now. Can we can we? Put the national graph back up there for a second. Look at look at where we've been not just where we are right now. But where we've been that I peek that we got in early April of terrible right when up to like thirty thousand cases day just atrocious thousands of Americans died hundred thousand people dead by the end of May because of that peak in new cases that we saw in early April. But? Look. How we got to that peak, we got to that peak from here on the graph look at the baseline we built up from in that case, right? We got to that I we were starting at zero it was a new virus, the no, the novel coronavirus we started with basically zero cases in this country in January February, and we went in that first peak from zero cases up to thirty thousand cases today. But then after that I peak and we started to come back down we didn't come all the way back down. We didn't go all the way back down to zero. We never actually got below an average of about twenty thousand new cases every day so that we started to surge again, we were searching from a higher point. There was tons more virus circulating in the country at a baseline level, and so because we were building on a bigger base line. When we had a second surge while there was higher amounts of virus circulating out there every day our second peak ended up being that much higher. Our second peak ended up being twice as I in terms of the peak rate of new infections because our baseline started higher. Right and in that second peak. Tens of thousands of people died right that's when we hit that second peak in high summer. All those cases stacked up with a high summer. We ended up with two hundred thousand Americans dead by the third. Week of September. After we saw that huge pecan cases in the high summer. But now, here's our problem right now because after that second scary second peak in the high summer when we drop back down again, not only do we not go down to zero wouldn't even go back down to where we we're. We're our baseline had previously been. When we drop down after that second peak, our new baseline didn't spend much time low forty, thousand new cases a day. and. Now that huge high baseline number is where we are climbing up from. So how high are we going to get this time I? Mean our peak number of infections keeps getting higher with each subsequent surge because with each subsequent surge, we're building on an increasingly large baseline. An increasingly large baseline of virus circulating in the country and that is happening over time as time moves from left to right on this graph, you can see our country increasingly failing overtime. And getting worse and worse and worse at stopping the spread of the virus, which is why peaks keep going up. If we can't get our baseline down ever if each new baseline between these surges is higher than each. Peak is going to be higher to and that many more Americans are going to die with each search. So, right now, we never got low right right now, this new search that we've got right now is coming out of a baseline. Of Forty thousand cases a day with a ton of virus circulating in the country. And where we are right now heading back up to a new peak, who knows how high it's going to be we've got a forty percent rise on hospitalizations in this country in the past month. In. The past week at least fourteen states have set hospitalization records. And we're just getting worse and worse and worse than even trying to contain it in some places yesterday in one county in. Idaho. Regional Health Board meeting they heard from their regional epidemiologist that the hospitals in that region of northern. Idaho. We're hitting capacity that they're major local hospital had the previous day hit ninety nine percent capacity even after doubling up patients in rooms and buying more physical hospital beds to try to put patients in them the local health board responded to that news from their epidemiologist by voting at that meeting. To repeal the local mask. mandate. They got told their hospitals or at capacity there's nowhere to put patients anymore in their response was to get rid of the local mass mandate. That's northern Idaho. One County over from where president trump recently tweeted in support of a local anti mask rally. Yeah take off the masks open everything up. And now here's what you get. College football is "just different" during coronavirus
"You can't have a close game. It feels like it feels like you know, that margin of victory is coming back to college football, at least during this season. Yeah. You look at Notre Dame they beat. You know Louisville and I know the conditions were great last week, and I think there are some people are like kind of put off by the fact that like they want their was concerned by how much And so know that I think that's the day and age to now, just us trying to determine who really are the best teams and we look at the way they dominate teams in order to get some sort of inclination as to what they are. I also think you know, you look at like lusting, for example, where they're going to be better than almost every single team. They play and line up against Andan favored the heavy favorite in almost every game. Establishment is obviously want to get some of these younger guys. Some talents know sometime to go in there and play the second half of games, so they do move on from Trevor Laurence. They've got a quarterback who's waiting in the wings. He's got that experience. But unfortunately, I just think in today's college football world when you only have four spots, the play for national championship you do have to do everything you can to prove that you should be one of the top four teams. Especially if you drop a game. And so that's kind of the unfortunate reality. Now that we're in with the college football well, and also we're seeing early in the college football season that you don't have that home field advantage without the crowds that we've seen teams on the road, come in and steal some victories here. How do you think that's going to impact the big 10? I think it's going to be exactly what you mean The other power five conferences, you know, you kind of talked about that. I think one of the reasons for margin of victory and what we're seeing with disparity between teams is just I think they're really, really good teams could take advantage of some of continuity that they have with returning Upperclassmen are guys who are experienced in a showcase themselves. And for those that don't necessarily have that they don't have a bunch of returning starters on either side of the ball. You're gonna struggle. I mean, they've all been limited but not being able to have any spring practice training camp was it was interrupted, and that's where you kind of get to a point where you look at some of these games were to get out of hand here, like, well, no crap. And obviously, some of these teams have dealt with Cove it differently than others. I think the other thing is they needed more that practice time college football, the developmental sport, and that plays a factor. But there's no doubt not having a home field advantage is getting hurt. I think some of these teams stuff anyone who plays Ohio State It's gonna be a lot harder to think that they're going to go on the road and potentially, you know, fumble or stumble along the way when you don't have the ability to have that 12 man in the
Jon Grudens Raiders and Tom Bradys Bucs: A Special Relationship
"Paul duty as I have a question for you where are you right now? I am in an RV at an RV park in Las Vegas and barring my mom and dad's RV while I'm here covering the now Las Vegas Raiders Paul Gutierrez not only covers the raiders for ESPN. He's written a book about Raiders Fandom and followed the team Vegas kind of living like. A little bit. Paul I of about fifty fall of questions about what life in that our views like. But it does feel like the ability to pick up and react to sudden schedule changes is especially important to covering the raiders these days starting with what's happening right now, we are talking on Thursday evening ahead of this highly anticipated raiders game, and there is a Kovic scenario that you've been covering in depth so. What do we know about the game schedule? What do we know about who's playing or who is not playing? Basically, what has happened is is right tackle. Trent Brown tested positive for covert. Now as part of the protocols here anybody who's deemed a high risk contact with him has to self isolate for at least five days plus one which would be the. Last point of contact, which was practice on Monday they are all there. They were all there together It's the raiders entire starting offensive line, plus let's just throw safety Jonathan Abram in there as well. So man, all of those guys were just placed on the covid nineteen list again doesn't mean any of them tested positive. I was actually told that none of them. But as part of the protocols they have to selfies late for five days. Another other source told me that they've been doing virtual preparation. In case they can indeed get cleared play against the buccaneers in the meanwhile, it was supposed to be a big Sunday night football game. Yes. The League wanted to make sure that that game actually happens. So they bumped the raiders out of their move Seattle in Arizona into that spot. So a game will happen well, guess what if you guys I just mentioned you consistently Test negative on their Cova test the rest of the week and then again Sunday. Morning will then they'll be cleared to play. But at what time? Sunday morning Oh. Yeah. kickoffs at one o'clock. So the backstory all that as well. I gotTA catch my breath here when I started figure this out understandably. Yeah. They on their fifty three man roster. They currently have five backup offensive lineman. That's WHO's been trodden. They've been trying out there in practice every day. That's who Derek Carr has been had protecting him. That's who Josh Jacobs has been trying to run holes through those five guys plus they also have two guys on the practice squad that they could suit up if need be. So as we sit here right now on on Thursday late afternoon the raiders starting offensive line is anchored by Andre James and if you need to know who that is I got a couple of media guides for you can look about. Paul Creek me. If I'm wrong here, but I believe this is the very first case of an entire position group being taken down by cove like I know that we've had players here and there. You put on this list but in terms of the magnitude of what the raiders are facing with the offensive line, this feels extreme. Yeah. An and it's part of the protocol. Really. Because only one guy really has tested positive but it's out of the abundance of caution which we've heard a lot of since since the pandemic hit right you've got to self isolate you gotta make sure you don't test positive or show any symptoms, and even if you don't show any symptoms, still self isolate because you could be symptomatic. It's just very bizarre. It's a strange world we're living in Derek Carr said this week that you know he's been with the team for seven years seen a lot of weird things. He's this is the weirdest thing he's ever seen and it's worth noting like weird is by no means foreign to this organization even within this context I mean, I still need help Paul disentangling what exactly happened for instance with Jon Gruden their head coach who took an approach to corona virus with the team earlier this year that had me confused the media confused, and then ultimately Jon Gruden himself pretty angry at everybody. Yeah. So beginning at Camp, we show up in a media member. We have to test every day just to get in I have fifty two on my belt. All negative so far, which is a good thing Jon gruden passes out t shirts to the media with there waiting for us as we walk in the media room that say crush the virus because I was going to be his mantra he took issue with the NFL network reporting that he faked having the virus but yet kind of just went away then on the home opener on. Monday night football when he later would get fine for not wearing his mask properly, he brings it up himself and says that he never faked the virus it as a matter of fact, he did have it. So he talked about just how it was not fun. It made him feel bad and this is all before training camp. When he said he he went through this and beat it in in that. He has the utmost respect for it and he still wants to crush it in beat it into the ground like it was some sort of opponent.
Here are the key moments from the final Trump-Biden presidential debate
"Presidential race is now really in a final sprint to the finish president trump and his Democratic rival. Joe Biden came face to face for the last time before Election Day and made their final pitches to voters. Last night's debate was a little calmer than the one three weeks ago. It seems the new muted microphone policy and or agreements worked because there were definitely fewer interruptions this time around and you got hear more from each candidate still there were a lot of tense moments as the candidates clashed on several key issues first of all corona virus. President Trump said we're rounding a corner with the help of treatments of vaccine is coming soon and that Americans have learned to live with cove in nineteen he emphasized the importance of not shutting down the country and cited mental health issues in job losses caused by lockdowns former. Vice. President Biden argued that people have not learned to live with it. They've learned to die with it since the pandemic has claimed more than two hundred and twenty three thousand American lives so far Biden focused on wanting to give more resources to state schools and businesses to be. Able to open but with better safety protocols and he endorsed wearing a mask to help save lives next the candidates talked about foreign affairs trump accused Biden of corruption saying he and his family made money from his time as vice president especially pointing to Biden's son hunter and his business dealings in Ukraine. But Biden promise quote I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life Biden also accuse trump of getting too cozy with. American. Adversaries like North Korean dictator Kim Jong Hoon to that trump said the fact that the US is. Not In a war with North Korea right now proves his international strategy has worked. They went on to discuss issues including race immigration health and the climate. Of course, the campaigns are only picking up speed from this point out today. Joe Biden plans to speak near his home in Delaware and till visit Pennsylvania, tomorrow President, trump headed to Florida today and tomorrow he'll hold rallies in North Carolina Ohio and
Interview with Andi Simon
"Welcome back I've got Andy Simon, online Andy, how are you? I'm just wonderful. How are you Michael I am awesome. I'm vertical. That's always a good way to be a especially during times of pandemics and whatnot. So that looking forward to this interview for a bit of time now. So let's let's dive in. So tell the audience a little bit about yourself in in the. Work that you're doing. So my name is Andy Simon I'm a corporate anthropologist, a doctorate, and I am an expert in helping organizations and the people inside them change and I've had a background in both academics, and in business I was vp of a bank and S who've another bank can in healthcare during change. But what I learned to said people humans eight to change. And if nothing else a little anthropology might help them step back and see things through a fresh lens an essay due. You'd be amazed how their brain goes from fighting and resisting the changes to embracing them and saying Oh that's right here. So I would say, the way forward is all around you. If only you can see it and our job has been to help people do just that. So I'm an author and award winning author of a book called on the brink of fresh lens to take your business to new heights, and I'm a podcast like yourself and I totally enjoy sharing on podcast video and audio how people can help us change and humans really do hate to change they love the idea, but they hate to do it. So that's who I am. Changes a dirty word to a lot of people. I. See it all the time when I advise people to and I even use the word adjustment I don't even bring in the word change because they hear that word they automatically just tense up and you make some minor adjustments here and there and like okay I can do that and. I'm with you on that. It's so many people are afraid of because they think it's this big job in for some people it might be it might be really transformational for them to go through the work because they have to look within and sometimes people are afraid to look within because. You know we're our own worst enemies in many ways, and especially now during this pandemic, where we do have an opportunity to make some adjustments or changes in our lives that make us better off once we get to the next normal. So many people feel paralyzed and they don't want to take the necessary steps that they need to do in order to get to the goals and the things that they want in life. You know it's not personal. The brain hates it because that's how we. Ourselves to survive and our cultures and the stories we share our really our conversations are our reality. The way the brain works is it takes data informs a story about it, and once you have that story, you think that's reality. It's just a perception of it and you're always a hero in that story. So you only see the things that a firm believe to be true and the line I liked to say is the only truth is there's no truth but once you have that wonderful perception of reality, your brain is very happy. Keeping it everything around you has changed and it's no longer often, and so now the question is, how do I get you to change your story and how do you visualize a new or a new business and really come to grips with the changes that are taking place? I often tell my clients think if this is a play, you really know hamlet very well the tomorrow we have to play, Macbeth what would you do? You find the script or you'd write the script and then you begin to rehearse the script and then you'd have. A director to help you figure out where to stand on stage but we're trying to do that today in a moment you know used to say, if you want to change have a crisis or create one little I know cove it was going to give me my crisis and I tell people don't waste the crisis I have clients who have been trying to do something for three years and all of a sudden. I can do I wanted to go after that market and I can't tell you how easy it is now because everybody. Is unsettled and unsure and all the certainty that we want to protect ourselves is gone and so in uncertainty you know don't waste a crisis and so as we help companies change to your point, they do resist until they realized maybe this is a crisis that you have to address. Now, the question is, what's the new script? How do I play it and I appreciate that humans resist because it's scary new fell we'll have my job. How do I do this my business grow all the uncertainties but yesterday is tomorrow and we are futurists. Are podcasts was ranked in the top twenty futurist podcasts but humans are futures. We have to see you tomorrow to lift today, and that's what we begin to help them do. So as your listeners are listening in thinking about the story, you believe to be your truth and what are you going to have to do to change it and then change it manager mind. So it's exciting times for us. We're having a great time lots of customers and lots of interesting work to do.

"Back in October. I started this new segment titled Your Next Dive. And since then I've taken you to Maui Ian Lohyna where we were diving with behind find a divers then. We traveled to little came in at the Little Cayman Beach Resort and most recently we had had it to Atlantis dive resorts in Douma Getty in the Philippines. We're back again and this time we're going to take you to Nassau Bahamas where you're next. Dive is with Stuart Cove. We've been running a shop trip for well over for fifteen years. Now with Stewart and Stewart cove has been around since nineteen seventy eight and. They're the biggest operator on new providence. Island they operate out out of the southwest side and because of its location. You're going to have to take a shuttle bus. Stuart Cove provides from your hotel to dive shop. There are a number of hotels hotels that are affiliated with Stuart Cove and for us we use aren't chill beach in. That's about fifteen minutes or so from the hotel to the dive shop. Orangeville is an ECLECTIC place and will not use your typical high end hotel. We've grown to like it aren't chill is inexperience now. Steuer we're coast facility is really cool. It's built like an old time seaport village. It was actually a set used in the movie flipper when they filmed it down in new providence island with Paul Hogan as you enter the gate you walk down to dock passed a myriad of dive boats to the main dive shop for check in. There's a lot of facilities here. There is a rental center there showers. There's a classroom. There's a gear locker a photo center and a fool will retail shop have quite a few dive boats and the best for me or the forty six foot. Newton's they also have a four other what they consider are large boats and two medium boats that you can charter. The boats are spacious well-maintained ready to take you to a whole lot of great dive sites. It's if you like rex. You won't be disappointed. There are many different sites to visit including things like see. Viking Port Royal Bahama Mama and the bond wrecks which which were used in the James Bond movies and one of my favorite sites is the ray of hope and I'll come back to that in a in a minute or so. Reefs and walls are abundant. There are approximately thirty five different dive sites one of the big reasons. I love. Stuart Cove in the Bahamas are the sharks. The animals are magnificent and again in the water with them is a profound experience. And that's why I like the ray of hope. It's located very close to one of the shark doc feeding areas and we can debate whether that's a good thing or a bad thing but I'm not GonNa get into that here. A lot of the sharks do visit the ray of hope and you. We can get some really great experiences on Iraq with the sharks diving around you. Doing Ford is a day like we often do. You'll come back to doc and you can grab a burger or a fish sandwich from the grill. Wow does it taste good and get you refueled for the afternoon guys. So so if you're heading down to Nassau Bahamas and you WANNA get some diving in a highly recommend that you take a look at Stuart Cove and his dive Operation Asian down there. It's a great facility and ready to take you to some great dive spots and get some really cool experiencing so that's it for this addition of your next dive.

Why do you think it's important? I think everybody's just treat each other with respect in the business world for sure. Do you see that. Sometimes that they don't I do. Yeah we we. We thought that this was a no brainer. But there's a lot of business out there. A lot of good business could get done you. There's more trust yes amongst so how do you grow trust with with your potential clients or customers and we talked about your employees and stuff to what what is the philosophy of Rick when it comes to gaining trust being honest. Open what you say. Do you see and that's how I do it. I I don't back down on my word ever and it's so what does it look like when when I guess. How am I gonNa ask this when when you have a potential client under something? What what what is it you tell as far as that when I walk in the door? Yeah Yeah let's say you just introduce introduce myself Yup into my company to him And we tried to ask them what their problem is. As far as lighting goes if you don't just quickly try and sell them stuff. This is going to help. This is GonNa fix you. Trust me I can fix anything. I will save you. Thousands of dollars lers right. You don't do that are you. Sure I make tons of money if you did I know so what do you do. I pretty much try. Try and get to know the person I oh what they sell how they're selling it what their company does because we do business with people we know like and trust and so many people people want to first get married just like Oh relax right. We don't want to scare them away right but you like to educate them and I'm what what we're what we're selling and how it can benefit their company. Yeah absolutely so. What is your commitment to being? Indeed what does that mean to. Rick what do you think. What does your company stand for when it comes to that? Tell US explain Osa little bit about why you do what you do you. You've been in an electrical field for thirty years and you decided you know what I know a lot of stuff. But I'M GONNA throw most of that out the window and focus that I was electric Magician for thirty years for somebody else and led started to come alive in the world world. So I thought I should take my knowledge of electrical and focused strictly on. Led's why did you say oh. My Gosh Elliot's the future well because I- electrical jobs at day take longer to get done. It seems like two three four weeks depending on the project could be a year with. Led's I can see a a change the same day. I'm there I can save the customer money the same damn there. This is a pretty simple one relentless players. They really really really they want to win. They both want to keep playing and keep winning. They send their bodies past normal limits to get there. They tore their a._c._l.'s at similar times but i think the most compelling part of this comparisons actually that each of these guys is much more conservative than they get credit for in in terms of their politically speaking very concerned. Maybe also true can't speak to that but on the field of play they're both so good good so detail oriented and so risk averse that they end up you know just executing conservative shots extremely extremely well. Tom brady is tiger woods. I really didn't jump in there because i can't really say anything differently. I mean tom brady is probably the best quarterback of all time it gets in. Tiger is definitely the best golfer of all time but i'm disappointed in your creativity level there because they just don't think he really strove for much. Just pointing out who's get there. Come on kirk. Cousins minnesota vikings quarterback his p._g._a. Tour is ricky fowler. Oh you're right. There's more fun. You're told that he's really good that. He's worth a ton of money worth. All the acclaim liked that. You're told that kirk cousins is worthy of being a franchise quarterback. You're told rickie. Fowler is supposed to be one of the greatest players on the planet one of the best americans but the the the question is like do the results follow. Do the players show up and win. Big games big tournaments. I like that next for me. Aaron rodgers is rory mcilroy this. This is a homerun endless talent. We talk about both their talent all the time but there's also this element where they're both extremely smart like self-aware people. They're both old souls. They're both gonna you know. Reclusive keep themselves in leagues where everyone else is a little bit more buddy buddy but they're everyone's favourite pick every year because they have such mega firepower yeah they do things in their respective fields you to stop and you're like well. That's the best. I've ever seen someone do that. Nate each had some big time winds earlier in their career and of late have struggled to kind of totally regain that no offense to rory's fedex cup victory this year but it's just not quite the same thing finally. If we were gossip podcasts we'd say they both have celebrity relationships that have flamed out publicly in the public eye but we won't get into that opec go philip. Philip rivers is webb simpson. Both players had had wildly wildly long careers. They are both probably going to be in the hall tame someday when you really start and things up philip rivers no super bowl but some of the greatest passing statistics of all time webb simpson the only one major but now he has players championship shared <hes> he is going to be on the p._g._a. Tour for probably fifteen plus years decent chance he wins another major part of a a bunch of ryder cup teams. Both these guys big big family. Men rivers has literally a big family and webb simpson is known as one of the best family man on the p._g._a. Tour so philip filbert is webb simpson. That's the comp. I had tony fee now in there for similar reasons female rivers both can't big one big were tildren than you would expect my final guy andrew luck anthony kim twenty-something 'nigma soon for that. They were fed up with injuries. They had enough cash to walk away and explore their other varied interests. That's the thing where they diverge averge though i i'm not sure their interests are the same. I don't see them hanging out a lot necessarily in their future careers. Who would you be if you found out that they did the hang out. Would you be more impressed with andrew lock or more impressed with anthony cam. I mean anthony cam is one trillion times cooler than andrew luck. Not sandra bullock's not cool. He's got his own like nerdy engineer. Thing going on architecture. Thing may be going on okay but like i picture picture anthony kim still like closing down clubs in l._a. In las vegas and i don't think andrew luck will step in club the rest of his life and if he doesn't have to i don't think now he doesn't have. He's got one hundred million dollars. In a whole life ahead of him my final comparison. Eli manning is lucas glover. Whoa both both a bit past their prime say and if we're talking about their primes not exactly the highest reaching primes uh-huh but he like manning won a couple of super bowls lucas glover he won the u._s. Open lucas glover's highest career world rank is fifteenth you now you lie. Manning was probably at best the eighth best quarterback in the league glover. He was major and everybody remembers that he did it over tiger tiger. Phil mickelson won his super bowl over tom brady i mean i think it's all lining up there. One thing is for sure that that is the best. He lives manning lucas glover comparison. You'll hear today. I think that that's good enough for now. We'll skip over what had patch agreed. Baker mayfield matt ryan justin rose. Does josh allen cameron champ at some potential. We would love to hear from you guys what you think the best half-baked comparisons harrison's are between quarterbacks and p._j. Players we have a good calm for a answer. I was thinking like derek carr abraham the answer sir he's going to be here abe answer is ascendant and i'm not so sure that's true about derek carr. We don't know that it's not true. You sat down with him. If i am not mistaken sean yeah so eboni talked last week was the end of his season just kind of talked about him. Mm-hmm reaching the president's cup his great performance at the northern trust kind of assessing his his season and how he met his goals talked about how how important the w._g._n. Is to the country of mexico and gulf within mexico and what it's like to fly that flag and if there's pressure inherent to that <hes> it was pretty cool you can tell that the guy has he thinks about mexico a lot and he was born and raised you know right around the border of texas in mexico <hes> very far south and central texas and you can just tell that the guy has been around. He's he's moved around a good bit. He went from.

"Window. That's open Utah, and this is why love this move. Utah's not waiting. If you opened up a field right now in the Western Conference, you at the very least have to add Utah into the conversation, the second level, weekdays from one AM to six AM eastern on SP nation radio. The second level. Mike. Conley gets moved to the jazz. The first thing I think of is how aggressive everybody has become as a result of a window. That's open Utah, and this is why love this move. He rightfully admires it isn't really pinpoint that flip the little bitty dropped back, but it wasn't anything gracious as the Bumgarner starts barking at Muncie. He's upset he's not happy so match Muncie was asked after the game and what he said here was hall of Famer hit yelled at me. He said, don't watch the ball. You run back. You know, if you if you want me to watch the ball, you can get it. Amazing. I mean that is such a line right there. Go get it out of the ocean. And this is the issue for major league baseball. If you're a major league baseball, you can't run a commercial saying, let the kids play, and then have players being upset when someone gets excited and backflip Schefter, big home run..

"Out. So the two brothers and a junk Robert Campbell. Bought a ship it was captain by Gavin Hamilton, and they renamed it the Sydney cove. Sure. That's a little kiss us right there. Hamill cable, John William. We're all Scottish K quick. Look at me. Well, I know I know what you're going to do with it. I'm a little excited. November seventeen ninety six they had a crew and cargo including over one hundred casks of rum wine and beer. Champagne gin and brandy. Wow. Yeah. The essentials. And it's just is it just three of them. On the ship. Yeah. No, they got a whole crew okay because otherwise only William and Ann Hamilton, come on the ship. So William was assisted by his quote Bengali men servant. Just what you had back then. Most of the crew were Lascaris the Laskar is we're recruited from northeast of Bengal. They were paid half of what European sailors were paid fair. Notes, their fair more fair stuff. Yeah. They went barefoot. And war. Quote, loose drawers, made of white cotton, a white frock, or jacket and turbans. Just bid, a swim in, you know, if you wanna have a it's going to draw off quickly. Yep. He wants to shoes on about. Hey, Dan, me, same here. I'm actually side what they've on this one. So I was thinking jets go, so. On a rubber, and jetski. Like to say this jetski. A lot of guys jetski over here, though. Hundreds. Lasker is were the backbone of the British trade. So these guys were just on all the ships on November tenth seventeen ninety six the Sydney cove left for Calcutta heading to Sydney. Most of the Laskar is not been this far south. So it was very cold for them, which they weren't used to the ship round of the south west coast of Australia on January twenty fifth and hit quote a perfect hurricane. Oh, that's an interesting wave. Is that a movie title? Tower kinds of like not, not one. Yeah. A non hurricane that's. Oh, I know the perfect hurricane is just you lay out on the ship's deck. Yeah. Are fact. There was already leak on the boat and it got worse. Quote, the weather was intensely cold with hard rain, which so frightened. The Alaska is that they absolutely refuse to touch the pumps. So Hamilton forced them to they bailed water from below for two straight nights during the storm one man, drowned not in the ship fell over. I mean I'm not happy about that still but it's better than drowning in the boat. I'm drowning. Yeah. Marginally, I'd rather drown off a boat, then I just feel so fucking stupid drowning in a boat and also whoever filled out these journal didn't have to say that one of them, don't know, man sort of their own company. And I bought he's checking the numbers. We might have workout we didn't hire one of them dog while I'm writing this anyway, all the Rum's intact. Well, that's all I worried about. Five Lasker is already so weak from the trip and sick that they quote dropped down dead at the pumps. Oh my God. That's so we have six lasts dad's six. Yeah. They just tossed them overboard. That's what you did. Sure the winds. Pushed the ship towards Tasmania. Right. A lot of enthusiasm for Tasmania in the crowd, and I. By daybreak. The ship was on its side. This good blood, they will. Say again, not a perfect Howard county. I'm trying to get to Sydney off ended up in Tennessee. And how. What we're looking for is an imperfect wanted to get us back to sail. Deal. So they're stuck on a sand berm at the very bottom of an demons land on an uninhabited uninhabited island that would later renamed preservation island. Longboat was their only chance to get out, but it was going to take two weeks to repair it the Duggal. Well, they found brackish water, which they could get by on. They brought the horses and cows over from the ship. Nice. That's nice. Yeah. This is the first horses and cows on van demons land. Okay. So they were also like whoa. Fuck this shit as easy. Can we go back? This has had issues. It's going to be chill orces at shoes they were crazy. Just kick them off. Well, we're on vacation, what about boys? Are you smoking? Yeah, we're smoking.
