"And we'll throw those in the show notes. We'd be remiss if we didn't talk about game four a little bit, break it down a little bit. From my perspective and I, if you live under a rock or you don't listen to our podcast or whatever, second year in a row, it was unable to watch game four live. And I knew once the schedule came out that the season would be ending in game four. It was just how it works. So I've rewatched, I watched the fourth quarter on a horrible, horrible Wi-Fi stream. Everything was cutting up and Rachel was kind enough to keep me updated. But I rewatched it later last night and a little bit more this morning. And I'm curious your thoughts on this, Rachel, because to me it was like a very, very similar game to game one where Connecticut had all the chances to win it, and they just kept shooting themselves in the foot and that's not to take away from what the aces did. I mean, great teams find ways to win. The aces took advantage of the 50 50 balls. They took advantage of their opportunities. And they really, you know, carpe diem sees the day. For me, I mean, that's what I look at. I look at Chelsea Courtney Williams, sorry getting 18 shots. That's not a recipe to win. Having more shots from those two players versus your legit MVP and your team MVP if you want to call it that illicit Thomas. So just a lot of intriguing aspects to this game, but I mean Chelsea gray. And we're quanta Williams, just really stepping up having ridiculous games. I'm curious for you as somebody who is watching and kind of for me it was easy, right? You're not going through the emotions of it. But I'm curious for you. You know, I was just, I mean, it was not the prettiest game Las Vegas had played. You know, this was not the prettiest series. Las Vegas had played. You know, you have to give credit to Connecticut and just how, you know, disruptive they can be and had the way that they make the game look at certain times. But Las Vegas found a way. And to echo your point about ricotta Williams. I mean, I've always been a huge fan of for quantum Williams. And I love, you know, what she was able to do in LA at times and just her ability to score, I mean, we know we know. Anyone who's followed the league for a few amount of years knows that that's a player who, given the opportunity, given that given the chances, given the shot, given the shots, can put up 25 plus. And that's, you know, not exactly her role this year hasn't been a role with Las Vegas, hasn't needed to be her role has been more so. You've got to be a spark off the bench. You've got to give a serviceable menace come in and give us 6 to ten, whatever that might be. But it was really cool to see her, you know, have her best game of the season. In a game where, you know, Asia Wilson was struggling, Kelsey plum, you know, she finished 5 for 12 and not a horrible night from plum, but like, you know, it wasn't like the starters were dominant. Jackie young, four or 14. So, you know, they're starting 5. There are three headed monster, if you will, that averages 90% of their points. You know, it was really, it was a grind for them to get their buckets and to get there to get their opportunities. And so it was really, and obviously, Chelsea gray, I mean, she was great, but I'm talking about Jackie young, Asia Wilson and Kelsey plum, kind of having just average below average, just offensive afternoons. So we're quantum Williams to come in and do what she did, finish 5 for 9 from the three point line. I mean, it was just really, really, it was great to see that, see her step up in that moment. Really sees this opportunity to secure this because if we're quantum Williams doesn't do what she does, I don't know that this outcome is what it is. And I agree, it was very reminiscent of game one from Connecticut's perspective and also Las Vegas. I mean, this is a team that averaged 90 points a game. Now, game one, I think it was like in the 60s, something like that. But they end up score in 78, but, you know, you hold them well below their average. You've got their three, four headed monster, you know, struggling at times to score. But again, Connecticut just only able to put 71 on the board, it just felt like a missed opportunity. It felt like there were two games in this series in this four game series that can not easily could have gone to put it this way, Rachel. You were talking about the aces, average scoring, there was only one game this series that the aces scored above 80. And I think that's mind-blowing to me. And while and look, there's two sides each coin, right? If you're viewing it from Connecticut side, you're saying, we went into this series knowing the only way we could win is if we mucked it up, and if we really threw Las Vegas off their game, really just completely just frustrated and I think if you're Connecticut, if you look back at the series, you go, we did what we needed to do to win in the sense of the style of the series that it was and how the series kind of laid out. They just didn't make shots when they needed to. They didn't convert when they needed to and they made the nicest way I can put it some boneheaded mistakes when they shouldn't have. On the aces side, you got to be ecstatic because going into the series, you know what they're going to try and do, right? There's only one recipe for success. Besides John Claude Jones just having an insane series. And it was basically that the aces are just going to ride what we've been doing. Hope, require hamby can provide a little something off the bench. And just ride the Chelsea gray wave, which has been undeniably unbeatable historic epic and legendary, this playoffs. And the aces found each game, like it very much so looked like the aces approached each game as a series in its own, whereas the sun didn't necessarily have that mentality. Like the aces went into each game saying, it doesn't matter what the series score is. It doesn't matter what's gone on at any other point. All that matters is we find a way, you know, I always say scratch bite and claw your way to victory and the aces did that. They 100% did. They did. They did it across the board, and they did it with, you know, we talked about Deb, we talked about a short bench that was kind of the, you know, the narrative all season we know they've got the firepower offensively, but you know, if someone goes down or whatever, like what could happen, and I think, you know, we talked about it on the stream that day. Shout out to everybody who joined us. You have to have so much luck as well. You know, obviously this team, I personally think. And I know you kind of agree. Has the potential for to run it back to the potential of a quote unquote. Again, potentials, the keyword dynasty, depending on the kind of moves that happen in the free agency. But you have to have luck when you're talking about these things. Everybody was in phenomenal shape this season. Everybody put in so much work in the off season to take care of their bodies to get themselves to be able to play 38, 40 minutes a game. With a short bench and a limited, you know, it was like everyone's goal was to get into the Las Vegas aces bench. And if you could do that, then you had a shot. And I wasn't sure, you know, if what they were working with could sustain an entire course of a season and it did, you know, and that was really amazing to see. It was amazing to see how consistent this team was across the board and, you know, it wasn't like it wasn't like it was a super team in terms of the starting 5, but like after that, it was like, oh, this is scary. So, you know, the fun thing about this is I'm excited for free agency not to get too far ahead of ourselves and see what this team can add. But the resilience of this team, the chemistry of this team, it didn't always have to be pretty. They found it wasn't just like, oh, we're going to outscore you. And if we can do that great, they were able to kind of grit their teeth and have that edge to them, I think, that they started to really encompass as more and more as the season went on.

"The aces are WNBA champs for the first time after defeating the sun 78 to 71 in game four of the finals Las Vegas wasted a 6 point fourth quarter lead before quanah Williams drained a three pointer to put the aces back on top Chelsea gray and Kelsey plum added jumpers to secure the win Gray finished with 20 points and 6 assists I was a little passive and gained three trying to see and scope it out going into the pick and roll So I knew I had to be aggressive Williams had 17 and plum added 15 Courtney Williams had a team high 17 points for the sun I'm Jane ferry

"Connecticut was unbelievable. I thought to want to bond or cut back on track 8 of 15, Courtney Williams said all remittance and tissue hydrogen. What two points? Crucial game 5 of 7 three of three for three and I felt like the threes she hit were so timely. So timely. I don't know if I've ever seen this on the box, but nobody on Connecticut shot below 50%. Yeah, from the floor. So they were just all hitting. It wasn't one person or another person. Obviously, the triple double stat line is going to stand out. JD is 20 points are going to stand out. But it was a full complete team effort. And this is what we saw last round in game four when they saved off elimination against the sky, where they had that total team effort. So this is a team that's capable of it. We just don't see it consistently. Well, I think obviously unless it was amazing tonight. That goes without saying. But I think the player who really stepped up, not that was Tom's gets tripped up overnight. She gets pretty close. So we know we're going to get from Melissa who really, really stepped up in my mind was jumping. I thought tonight, you know, she's had good games. She had good stat lines, but there was not many times in this playoffs where you said, you know, in JJ's taking over. Today in this game, we saw JJ takeover in that third quarter and then she sat and she came back in dominated after that too. So it really worked out for the sun to take her up because when she went out, we all looked at each other like this is the time, you know? And then the sun staved off the run from the aces and JJ was going to be able to come back in and just kill the aces. She dominated Asia Wilson. And the offensive rebounding from her. I mean, like crashing because, I mean, we have seen her stay at the three point line a lot. This whole season, especially the series, but she was either getting positioned early and often, but even when she was out in the three point line she was crashing into crazy offensive rebounds over huge. I don't think Asia Wilson had the defense rebound in the second half. I'm about the second half. She only had three, yeah, she had three in the first half and none in the second half. I mean, also that's some Connecticut's incredible shop making, but still ten offensive rebounds to three, not a recipe for success of your Vegas. Are we worried about the issues? I was just about to ask that question. I don't think so, because I think that this is what we see when the team returns home. The aces did what they had to do,

"Well, well, well, here we are after game one of the WNBA finals, the Las Vegas aces one, so what we thought we all thought would happen happened, right? Like no surprises, nothing that was a little bit interesting. I think not. I think that's why we're here. I'm Gabe, that's Dan O ice young joining us. You see the dice it up crew. You've been familiar with their work. I don't know which way I'm pointing. Oh, over here. There we go. I sit up crew, come in here and I'm just joining in as a little. That's a little treat, I guess, I don't know. We'll see what happens when we start talking about this game. Vegas wins 67 64. They outlast Connecticut. They had to face a late charge from the sun, as we've seen that can be dangerous from some other teams, but Vegas pulls out game one, huge win these MB files. I start us off. Tell me what you saw from Vegas that got on this one. Yeah, I think Asia Wilson and Chelsea gray stayed consistent. I think was the most important thing. You know, other players did what they needed to do, you know, Jackie young was there, got a couple of rebounds, had some decent plays. But in here, her name as much as I feel like we normally do. Williams, I think her 17 minutes were huge, only scored three points, but again, just being consistent and playing her role within the team. You know, Kelsey plum, I swear this team, the win is more impressive to me because Kelsey plum is not playing like normally she does, right? And so your Connecticut, you're like, we gotta win that game because you're not facing this team that is just fully powerful because one of the best players in the league is just not performing right now to level that. She should be. And so if you're Vegas, you're walking away like, okay, we pulled out a tough game. Didn't score like we normally do. But we're also mill seeing 20 plus points from Kelsey plum normally. And so that was kind of the big thing that stood out to me just I think for Kelsey plum right now it's a mental thing. I don't think it's at all what anyone is playing, how the coverages are, how the defenses are, what looks they're showing her. I just think it's completely mental her game right now and not being able to knock down outside shots. And then this game not really being able to get to the paint either, but that's because Connecticut has great defense in the paint normally. And so she was getting those looks in other series against Seattle getting into paint being able to finish, but here in this game, she's not getting into the paint as much at will. She's getting blocked a lot. And she's got tough time making shots on the outside. I don't know if they're going to win as easily as everyone thinks that they're probably going to win. If Kelsey plum doesn't start to make outside shots, I truly believe they're going to figure it out because right now you've only got a guard two people. Three ish, including Jackie young, right? I'm muted, sorry. I want to ask you about, do you think tired legs can be evolved either if you guys answer, but I wrote down, I was like, is she tired? Is there an injury because I thought the same as you as mental, but she seems like someone who's so able to compartmentalize and I felt like maybe, hey, she's a little tired. She's played too many man, whatever. I don't know. So that was my question. Do you think tired likes could play a big factor? I mean, she could be tired, but you know, you're in the finals and a player like Kelsey palm, you know, early in the season, it was talked about her fitness, right? How she was in the best shape of her life because she wanted to be one of the best players and knew that her conditioning and fitness had to be at the supreme range in order to play the way that she does. So I actually don't think it's a fitness thing. I just know being a shooter sometimes. You were just not in rhythm. Sometimes you were just not knocking down shots. And you've got to find other ways to affect the basketball game. But I think it's a mental block for her right now. Not seeing threes go inconsistently, not seeing jump shots, but when consistently, it's just creating that block for her. And she's got to find a way to just get over the hump. I think every shooter, every great player has struggled with that at one point or another, and we're just seeing that right now. And unfortunately, it's at the worst possible time. Yeah, hopefully she gets to go. She hasn't been shooting up their level, but she has had moments, so hopefully she can get it back, but as you mentioned, Asia Wilson and Chelsea gray brought it home for the aces, like they have this entire playoffs. 24 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks from Asia, Chelsea gray, put up 21 points on 9 of 17 shooting on her ridiculous diet of shots. Dana, with those two stars going for Vegas, I mean, if they just get those two in a game, can they just win? Do they need more than just those two? I think they do on a normal night. You're not going to have to want to bonner and Courtney Williams going, you know, I guess they can mine four for 18 tonight. Just awful shooting, but I was definitely more impressed with their defense today. I mean, they were terrible on the giving up offensive boards. But when you have Asia Wilson, she's going to have to play at least 35 minutes a game. If you're only going to get that kind of offensive output from her and Chelsea, but it's

"But if there's a drive, right? That Chelsea gray is going to force you into. She's going to drive to that nail. She's going to drive to that elbow area and force a collapse. If you're slow to contain that, if she gets by that primary defender, if you're slow to rotate to that, you're in trouble, right? Even if you're fast faster rotate it, you're still in trouble. You're in trouble because that first domino is going to dictate the rotation behind her, you know, that primary defender. That first action is going to dictate the rotation and I think that's going to be the challenge for Connecticut. And you move quickly enough with extended space on the offensive end that Las Vegas is going to bring you. Can you rotate quickly in that? And that's going to be a big challenge. And if they can do that, boy, this is going to be 5 game series. Yeah. I think they can, you know, you look at Seattle, they were able to do it to a certain extent. Actually, I thought Seattle kind of found a little bit of a rhythm like getting the ball to Kia stokes in the short rule. And that was successful. They just didn't collapse fast enough at the rim to force you to make a decision. So I think there is an opportunity there. And I think Connecticut, I don't know. I mean, because Seattle's defense is absolutely incredible. And I think this Connecticut defense has a lot of the things that that's the all defense did. They just don't have as good of guard defenders, which kind of worries me. Because all right, so I'm looking at the matchups from the second game, right? Yeah. All right, so here are the ones that are pretty okay. And we obviously have to change this now because hamby is probably not starting if I had to guess. But here are the matchups from the second game. So we had Kelsey plum with natisha Hyde and honor, okay? Gotcha. It's a good matchup. Wanna bonner on Jackie young? Good matchup. Interesting. Yeah, it's interesting matchup. I think they'll go up and down. Derek a handy was facing off with the list Thomas. So let's Thomas on Derek hamby and then John called Jones on Asia. Obviously with kiss stokes in there, I don't know what you want to do, I think I would say you want to keep John quell on Asia, especially after what she did to Kent sparker. Right. Asia is a different assignment, but I think getting John quill on your best on the best post player. Yeah. Is number one. I think Alyssa would do a great job on Kia stokes because she's not going to get posted. That's fine. But she's also going to provide a lot more she's going to create a lot more problems on the pick and roll if Vegas wants to bring her into the pick and roll. It makes a lot easier to defend if it's illicit Thomas there. Right. So that's great. Here's the problem. They had Courtney Williams and Chelsea gray. Not that anyone can guard Chelsea gray at the moment. If she's going to shoot the shots, she hit in the last series, a series of don't worry about it. Magical. But if she's coming back down to earth, she's going to cook Courtney Willens regardless and you're going to keep having her kill you. So I don't know what the solution is there because they just have one spot that is not a good matchup. And that's the worst spot to have that match up. So maybe you put hide in an honor, but then hide them as a little too small. I don't know. That's a tough one how they approach Chelsea gray. Yeah, grace, big guard. I mean, you know, 6 foot and she is bringing that ball down with some power and effectiveness. And as that, when you have that size at that position, not only are we talking about her ability to hit tough shots. But she can see over top of you. And make those incredible no look passes to her teammates, you know, in the space that we were already talking about. But I think, you know, you also have to flip it over on the other side and talk about how Vegas matches up with Connecticut and Vegas will throw a variety of defenses at you. They have a ton of schemes. They go some triangle and two. They do some boxing one diamond and one. They'll mix up some things for a couple of possessions, just to throw you off balance. So I wouldn't be surprised to see that in defensively from Las Vegas. Obviously, they've been doing it all year. This is not like a knee jerk finals adjustment. They've been doing this all season long and in the postseason as well. So I think that'll be something to watch for the creativity of the defensive choices from Las Vegas, but when you're talking about Connecticut, I mean, you know, I think it really missing a player like Jasmine Thomas. Who would shore up that spot that you're talking about and really that turns into a strength? Exactly. And solidify it for them on the defensive end. So now, you know, it's about heart and hustle at this point, sometimes you're missing that one spot. What they did last series, I guess Chicago, so they're gonna have to do that again because I think they are missing that spot, you know, because of the injury to jazz and Thomas, but at the same time, you know, I think it's gonna be a pretty even matchup in this game. Especially with the momentum that Connecticut's coming into this series with. Also, something to prove, as always. And they want to win. And that'll dispel every situation that they hear about being disrespected. So I proposed this adjustment twice for the command. And neither time is Kurt Miller taking me up on it, which makes me think he doesn't listen to the podcast, which makes me very upset hurt. I think he does. Yeah, I think he might. But I think Kenny Brooks told us this like in season, I don't listen to you guys. I'm sorry. That's fair. So I think Kurt's a little busy. But I've been saying this is that they need to run out. There are four best players to want to banner alys Thomas and John Cole Jones. And Brie Jones, together with the other Courtney Williams and atisha Hyde man at up top. Now, they have not run this lineup once the entire season. I looked at the line of numbers. It hasn't happened. They ran, they ran, I think they ran Thomas Jones and Jones together with Jasmine Thomas. Yes. Right at the beginning of the season then Jasmine Thomas went down. But just kind of signals to me like, you know, Kurt doesn't trust his point guards as much to initiate the offense. You know, you need the two ball handlers at the top because it's been tough to initiate offense for Connecticut. So I think that I think that's off the table. I would think it's perfect though because in this matchup, you got some bigs that you want John Cole and Asia will put Brie on stokes, put a T on Jackie young and then we have to want to ban around Chelsea gray. That's a great matchup either. It's not. Right. Because Chelsea gray is much faster on the perimeter, I believe. But I just think there's an opportunity there. It's probably not going to happen though. I'm just going to continue. Because if there's some lose and I'll come on here and say, hey, that's why they lost. And listen to me. Come on, Kurt. But I'm with you.

"Day that they wake up and play the game. I don't trust them. They've been good for so long and they haven't been able to get through the postseason for so long that I kind of have to see it to believe it. That makes me kind of lean, I mean, do we think it's going to be chalk in the playoffs? Or do we think someone's going to make it through the first round? Because if anyone is getting through, it's probably the wings. I think I'm taking Dallas in this series. Please stop me. I mean, I'd be tempted to as well. One thing we've got to remember about this Connecticut team, they are one game from being in a topsy discussion as well. I mean, for a point, we're in that driver's seat and they had a one tough stretch and have maintained themselves fairly well. All things considered. But what your point is that makes it interesting is to say that as a strategy, they've essentially maintained the same strategy as a similar run, as a matter of fact, a team who has this type of strategy you would expect to make some sizable changes at some point to see if it gets them over the hill and their changes have been going back to other strategy. Let's get Courtney Williams back on the roster. You know, it's been that type of situation and I think that adds to the intrigue and the discussion of what is doable and not doable as far as this team's looking. It's hard because it's not like they've played skittish. They've lost two games to the sky over the last couple of weeks, otherwise they've been pretty well chalk. They've been 9 of their last 11 games. So what's interesting here is yes, Dallas has been very hot. They've looked really good. It's not like Connecticut are playing rocky. They've been on some sort of ground floor, so it's just a really tough call. Maybe put you look at their record and the first thing you notice is they haven't lost them in a game, right? Their

"Win even against some of the league's heavy hitters. Yeah, no, I'm glad you brought that one up. I'm excited for that one. Again, we just barely saw Courtney Williams a return in their last game against New York after serving her two game suspension. While Williams was the starter heideman actually got the majority of the minutes there. That's what's kind of excited there. Are exciting there is because I think that if you've got heidemann and Williams, you kind of take your pick on who's on right then. This is a really super scary Connecticut sun team. But Indiana, Indiana is maybe the most interesting team of the season. They're probably still going to miss the playoffs, but man are they interesting? It's been a lot of fun to see to kind of see what goes down here. As long as they don't commit 29 turnovers like the liberty, hopefully they'll stay within 30. Yeah. By the way, those Connecticut Indiana games, those are my entire fantasy team. That's true. That's true. You're going to rake in a lot of points. Which, by the way, good job. Just how much do you want to offer me? Good game. Good game in our first week. I was one Jessica shepherd away from. Picking up Jessica shepherd might be the biggest, smartest thing I do this entire season. Not Jessica, shepherd. I'm checking this on the end because we are wrapping the show up, but if this was kind of our final minute rundown, you might notice that we didn't talk about the New York liberty all the day. They don't play a game until next Tuesday. I don't see them in action. And that's maybe for the best. They're kind of at the point in the early.

"Option on that mercury championship team a lot of that, right? Yes. She was obviously a lot earlier in her career, but yeah, that's a really good point. And yeah, Courtney Williams, as long as you bring her up, I'm just gonna go to one of my next ones, Courtney Williams. Okay, I'm glad I am picker 'cause that was the one I had on the top of my list. So yeah, that was a great segue. So let's do it. I mean, first of all, I share initials in a birthday with Gordon Williams. Second off, I just picked her on my fantasy team last year because she told everyone to, if I forget who tweeted, one of the reporters, sorry, I'm not giving you credit. Talk to Courtney Williams, ask her about fantasy fantasy. She said, I have no clue anything about fantasy, but you also picked me on dead. It wasn't Courtney. But also, I just think, I mean, she was a really big part of that 2019, almost championship team. They were what were they like tied with 5 minutes left and gave 5 with the mystics. They were close. And she was a huge part of that. She's a bucket and now when you look at this team, I mean, yeah, maybe she's going to be coming off the bench. You know, whatever. But that starting lineup that they had that year, they have the whole thing except for chiquita Strickland. But they also have dewana bottoms. So that's an upgrade, obviously. To me, this team is at least as good, probably better than that team that was minutes away from winning the championship. And Courtney Williams is a big reason why bringing her off the bench. I feel like if we look at this team the last couple of years, maybe against the sky even in that series, some of the things that cordy Williams brings almost feel like maybe what was the missing piece that maybe could have put them over the top. That energy in that swag and that disability, whether it's off the bench or just at the guard spot rather than a big to just give the ball and go get a bucket. And so I think I love that the sun brought her back. I think this is where she belongs. And to me, I know we're not making where this is all about intriguing players, but my championship pick is the sun and that's a big reason why. I like that. I think so two things. So one thing you brought up that was just thinking about, I was like, so she can instruct them obviously changing she can't strictly for dewana bonner. Is a step up in talent. That's a hell of a fit when you had Strickland there at the three four and it depends on what was happening. But when she was when she was playing the three there and you have Williams at the two and then you made a lot of sense. The reason why I think that 2019 sun team made it to the championship is because they fit so well. It wasn't necessarily just because the talent level, it was because they fit perfectly altogether. And this team, that's why I say dewan bonner there. And Courtney Williams is in the same category as like, does it all fit now again? Can they make that fit work? Because to want to monitor and stand in the corner waiting for threes. That's not her game. You know who else ain't doing that? Courtney Williams. Is not weighed on the three point line to get to get threes. She'll get to wait to get the ball and then she'll do whatever she wants with it. So now, okay, is John called Jones going to kind of like, who's the spacer? John quall could be a space or do you want her to be a spaceship? I mean, unless Thomas is not going to shoot, that's not happening. Alyssa Thomas is going to do exactly what she does. I mean there's little intrigue that she can do exactly what she does. So how do those players fit around her? Also, while we're here, is there any chance this year? Then nea cloud and takes a little bit of Courtney Williams minutes. Because I think you want to know someone who can stand on the three point line and shoot threes. Nia clone, she's a rookie. You can tell her whatever you could tell her whatever you want. She had three threes, I think, in their pre season game. Obviously, this is coming from the captain of the neo cloud and fan base. This is why I'm.

"This team have improved substantially by simply just staying mentally engaged in the second half connected to the league and then there's all of a sudden there's a lot of room for improvement. And I think if they believe in the coach and what they're doing there, you could see something like that happen with this group. So I do like that. I do think it's fair to put some of the failures of last season on the fact that there was a lot going on that didn't have to do with basketball. So I'd agree with you. I think if you're in Atlanta dream fan, you have to take some heart in that. And the last year, the performances that you were seeing on the court last year wasn't reflective of the type of talent that you actually have on that roster. And at least had on that roster. Now, obviously there were some pretty key departures talent wise in players like Courtney Williams, players like Elizabeth Williams and Kennedy Carter. Those are some big names that left the dream roster. You're left to piece together what else you have. Now, if it land wanted to. Play small ball and up tempo. They actually could do some pretty good damage this year. They have one of the deepest backcourts that I've seen in the history of us covering this leak. Tiffany Hayes obviously, you brought up and she's kind of a face of that franchise. She's been with Atlanta for, I don't know, almost a decade now. Ari McDonald's also fun, exciting guard out of Arizona. A lot of people kind of really were introduced to her coming into that final four run. That she made it Arizona. And I think that we hopefully can see a little bit more out of her moving forward. You mentioned Erica Wheeler at the guard position coming in. She's got a lot of speed. Ryan Howard, the current number one draft pick from just this season. Atlanta obviously believes is going to come in and make a major difference. They traded up to get hurt from third to first. Hoping that she's going to be that big step forward for them. You might be the first number one pick we've had.

"Now, Logan, let's talk about this Connecticut sun roster because. Well, before we have in Russia, let's talk coach, all right. We're going to have sort of a cadence with each of these teams. We're going to talk like their last season. We're going to talk about their current coaching situation. And if there were any changes. In that case, I know I'm cutting you off. This is what you get for this is the first one, which means I think we should talk a minute about the playoff series. I don't want to stay on it too long. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm done with that. They played the eventual champion Chicago sky in the playoffs. And remember, that series was a lot closer than you probably think. They lost three games to one, but the first game went to overtime. The second game they actually won, the third game they lost by three. In the pivotal, that really felt like I thought game four wasn't quite as close and they looked done after that. But this is a team that without Eliza Thomas went toe to toe with the eventual champion Chicago sky and easily that overtime game in that three point game they could have tilted the other way. The Connecticut sun have been really close to championships for a couple years, but last year really felt like we had the MVP, they had a great regular season. Chicago just got it going on at the right time, but that was a better playoff series than I think people might realize and I hope that they go back and see like, oh, without Chicago's tear, it would have been the sum of the year. They really were one or two possessions away from being from actually making the finals instead of Chicago. So I'm glad you brought that up because Chicago was looking to kind of tear through just about everybody in the playoffs and the Connecticut sun were kind of their lone team that really gave them a ton of fight. Because even in the finals, they were beating Phoenix pretty, pretty convincingly, but I'm glad you mentioned that because yeah, Connecticut did give a really strong fight to that eventual Chicago sky, which just kind of seemed to be a team of destiny at that point. So let's chat a little bit of roster and coaching that not much changes for the Connecticut sun from last season to this season. They keep their coaching staffs pretty well all intact. And their roster really didn't have a ton of moves. They've pretty much just stayed with what they've got and stayed with. They've had in the past. With really kind of two major changes from last season's team. The first of those being the return of Alyssa Thomas and what's even more impressive about the sun's season last year was that they were that dominant without who many people argue to be like their second best player. I think you might say John quill Jones, you know, an MVP caliber type player would be obviously your best player, but Alyssa Thomas, she's right there. It's like a one a one B type situation. And by a Connecticut standard, she's probably all WNBA. Easy is a star. Absolutely. And she didn't play last season. She was recovering from some injuries, getting a few things taken care of. So she will be returning to the floor this year. Not only that, but if you could pick a single spot and they were pretty solid across all 5 starters, but if you could pick one area to maybe improve on, it might be in your guard play and they bring in Courtney Williams. They bring back, I should say. Bring back Courtney Williams, who's played in Connecticut before after a short stint in Atlanta has returned to the Connecticut sun and will be shoring up and bringing even more dynamic play to a backcourt that by no means was lackluster in any way, but again, is probably the lone area that you could upgrade if you were going to upgrade this team. So bringing back your second best player and upgrading at point guard Logan. How are you feeling about this Connecticut son going into this season and should do Connecticut sun fans have every reason to be just excited out of their minds and thinking this really is gonna be the year that they break through. Yeah, I know it's tough when you've been let down probably four seasons in a row now when you're sealing is legit contender and you haven't been able to get it done. But this is the one good team that I'm actually fine that they did pretty, pretty minimal in the off season. They didn't need to completely go under the hood and retool this team. John Cole Jones is going to come back probably be another MVP candidate this year. Courtney Williams is going to solve their weak point at guard, like you said, Alyssa Thomas, I think is going to solve a lot of they already had the league best defense last year by opposing points per game, but I think she's going.

"And that I love that you are doing. And I love that you are willing to make some changes. You're willing to take some risks and make some changes that you know are going to be maybe unpopular. And that includes today tamika catching stepping down as general manager. This was a tough one to swallow because if you listen to our art W 25, like our top 25 players of all time, we listed and named tamika catchings as our number one overall the goat. So this is, we have major love and respect for tamika catchings. She has done about as much for the game of women's basketball as anybody. That being said, she hasn't performed well as a general manager. And I don't know if all of it is on her. I think that a significant portion comes from other areas within the organization. But it just hasn't gotten it done. So tamika catchings has to step down as general manager and that's tough because she's a legend in Indy. And so I love that they're willing to do that. I love that they are willing to take that next step. Do the hard thing and maybe really start fresh and not starting fresh as a roster, but starting fresh as a front office. And maybe that's where some of the changes need to take place. So Indy, that's something that as hard as it was for you to do and as hard as it was for us who are huge to make it catching fans to see, I think this is something that I love because I hope this is the first step in the right direction for this franchise. Please be the right step. It would be a step in the right direction for the Indiana fever because I so dearly want to see them back contending in the playoffs. All right, Atlanta, let's go to you. Let's go to you and we're going to actually stay in the front office. We're going to stay in the front office of Atlanta as well. It lands got a brand new ownership group prior to last season. And this ownership group has come out and basically handled some of the really difficult issues that have arisen and handled them with confidence and with surety, all right? Now, whether or not you agree with how they were handled is a different story. Things with Kennedy Carter sitting basically the entire second half of the season, not playing at all, even though she was totally healthy. Courtney Williams and the dream basically saying, we're not going to bring her back at all. She's not going to play for this organization. You can agree or disagree on any of those, and that's totally fine. What I do love is that a new ownership group came in sees challenges and made decisions and stuck with them. And made those decisions firmly. That's the kind of organization that I would want to be a part of. Not necessarily, again, I'm not going to get my opinion on how those situations needed to be handled one way or another, but I appreciate a leadership style that comes in and says, this is our vision and it might be hard for you to buy into, but this is what we're selling. And if you want to be a piece of it, then here it is. And so I do appreciate and like what I'm seeing from early on from this ownership group in Atlanta that that's been about a year in office now. I like that. And I love the direction that we're seeing from this new ownership group.

"Me show you, but congrats had been asking that she deserves the opportunity and are getting that women percentage of women coaches in the WNBA. And he keeps going up. Yeah. Speaking of women who could be head coaches, poki Chapman is an assistant. Shelley Patterson, coming to us as an assistant in D.C., also if you're wondering for D.C. at least like they'd never filled the spot vacated by Marianne Stanley because Asia is Jones. Right. Shelly Parisians in D.C., Chapman is in Seattle, which of those are you? More excited about, or are you just excited about? I'm sorry. First of all, I love both of them. So that's tough. Like, you can't like, that's like choosing a child over another. Like, no. But wow, I'm just thrilled for pokey Chapman to be back in the game. And I know her name was on the list of what I thought was 12, but was 48. And Phoenix, I had to know that she had talked to them pretty intensely. And so just to have her back, you know? And noe come in and just going ahead and hiring her. Noelle coin, the head coach at Seattle. I love that. You know, it's like the mentor thing. You know? But with Shelley Patterson coming to D.C., I mean, 20 years of WNBA, coaching experience under her belt, she knows she understands, you know? The league, she knows like Mike TiVo said. She knows the league inside it out. And that's just what it takes, you know, to have that knowledge of the league, but also knowledge of the TV or coaching obvious. And I think she's going to bring so much to the table in all ways. No, I think it's a great hire. But both of them are great here. It's just to keep, you know, we've talked about this a few times, keep women's basketball knowledge in women's basketball. We lose too much of that. So keeping those people in the WNBA is a huge deal. And I think Shelley Patterson's gonna be great for D.C.. Just get another set of eyes in there and they have a heck of a coaching stuff. Absolutely. You got the T bows, Mike and Eric. You got latoya Sanders, and now you got Shelly Patterson. Along with the rest of the organization. So I think it's a great hire at the Xian also made a great hire. Obviously, though, it depends on what players you got. Get the best coach in the world if they got the players ain't going nowhere. Cheryl reeve is very fond of the message. It's easy to coach and you got the best players. Speaking of the best players, last year's MVP, John quell Jones, reportedly returning to Connecticut. Believe it's a multiyear deal. And Rachel Gallagher also reported that John quell is taking less than her max, which is extremely interesting. And I think one of the things and one of the things that kinetic is doing with that extra space is bringing back Courtney Williams like I told them to at the end of last season. How about that? That's crazy. How about that? I mean, this is great for me from a content perspective. What do you think of it in terms of a basketball fit? I was surprised. Number one, I know what happened in Atlanta and everything like that. However, I didn't think she would go back there. I thought she would end up somewhere else. But the fact that she's back up there, oh boy, that just really I don't know, that's just kind of that's just like throwing one of those little pop it down the ground. It's like the whole box. That was like a whole box, and it's like, you know. I mean, it's tantalizing. When you think about what she was like, when she was with Connecticut, right? And the importance of her role as an offensive threat. And I think, you know, with that key piece, obviously with John Paul Jones back, but with that key piece of Courtney Williams and her ability to rebound number one from the perimeter position, one of the best guards in the WNBA in terms of. But her ability to score in the mid range that's pretty tough. And they need that. So it's going to be interesting to see what that looks like. Now with Breonna Jones playing the way that she's playing. They're the same names, but their games have changed a bit and matured and been more competitively efficient. So I think that's going to be that's going to be interesting to watch. Well, you have to limit, you have to limit the amount of court you will in your life. I mean, not me. Again, from a content perspective, she's amazing. I can get an unlimited amount of rooms. But from the team perspective, you do need to limit her a little bit. I think that's why she was so successful in Connecticut because she had a smaller role. It wasn't like a bit role, or anything. She was a big part of that team, but she definitely had a smaller role less usage than she had in Atlanta. I think Dallas served to make her a little bit more efficient, not that she's ever going to be let's get it out of the way. And we're going to be efficient her E feel goal is not going to be at the place that you wanted to. But what this team lacked last year, I think was just some clutch scoring and not that Brianna Brian January. It doesn't have that in her. It's just that's not really her game. You know, just toss it to her and say, hey, get us the late clock bucket. You know, you do that. Miss Courtney Williams. Yes. I think that that.

"Threes than normal three four percentage. I don't think was particularly grand. No, it wasn't. She was under 40% for the year. But she was just more involved. And I think if a team, I think there are opportunities for a team that already has a lot of talent that I think she can fit somewhere. I don't know how to make the money work because I think she's young enough and just coming off an all star year that she's going to want more than teams might be willing to pay. But it is an interesting question and to your point, I have the exact same thought. On paper, the best fit is Atlanta. But personality wise, they have to have to move away from her, which by the way, I think kind of stinks because I like Courtney Williams, and I like that she has an edge to her. And maybe there are teams out there that need that. One last one. There's a couple other questions in the chat, but since we're on this trend, there's one last one. Where do you think? Angel McClure, what do you think Adam McCartney's going? Who? Anyone. Man, first of all, it really sucks that we didn't really get honestly like a full run Vegas. No, we never really got to see what Vegas McCourt could pull off. Yeah, if you're a new listener or honestly, if you're a listener as of 2019, angel McCarthy was in the league for a long time doing a lot of good things with the Atlanta dream like 20 points per game every year without fail for the Atlanta dream, but just couldn't get.

"She goes and to me this is also a kind of a double sided where do you think she goes where she can be all star Courtney Williams again? Oh, man. You freaking wood. I don't know. I'm mad at myself right now because I'm trying to think of this is such an interesting case because obviously a lot of Courtney related headlines over the last few months have put a lot of negative on Courtney Williams. And I won't go into that level of judgment. That's not my place here. So I try to think out of where does she fit? Where does it make sense, but also like, you know that there's going to be that discussion of like are we willing to make that investment? Does it make a lot of sense? Does it do this? Does it do that? And it's hard because when I look at any of the high contenders, it doesn't make an entirely strong amount of sense. Just her playing style. I don't know that it quite works almost anywhere. So for instance, I think the sparks are out because I just, I don't think pairing her with Wheeler makes sense. I think it seemed like Indiana might be willing to make that move, but I don't know if that works well for Courtney and a lot of terms now. She may see player like Tyrion McAllen and be willing to make that happen. I'll throw one out that I think definitely won't happen. But is one of those crazy splashes that you just never know and I actually really don't think it'll happen because they're pretty solid with talented guards, so I don't know why they do this. But if there's one coach who might have the recipe to really help pull in the personality of Courtney Williams and just let her play basket, you know, and get her in a mindset to play basketball and potentially help some of that off the court stuff to calm down a bit. And I don't know about all star Courtney, but maybe Sheryl Reeves might be the one name. And I'm not saying because the links are solid in their backward right now. They're set up their backwards really solid. So I'm not trying to play that game. But it's also one of those like, we didn't get a scene in a Davis because she got injured. That's a player who potentially I think could fit really well under Courtney Williams wing, you think, which I think was something they wanted to see happen with Kennedy Carter in Atlanta and it just it didn't work. It didn't happen. And I think it's because you need a coach who guides that well. And Cheryl might be one to do that. So that's for me to say like if all teams were interested, that's a fit that could potentially work in helping provide a lesser mindset and getting her to maintain an all star level. On a realistic sense, no, I don't see that type of move happening at all. It's just hard right now because there's a hint to answer your question. There's a handful of teams she could contribute on and do well with and I don't know if there's a team where the fit of helping her be at an all star level is just quite there. Like it's a hard like the answer on a narrative standpoint before this last 6, 7, whatever months, probably was Atlanta. And yeah, that's the point I wanted to make. That's not your part. Yeah. That was the spot and then it kind of didn't it just didn't work out. Yeah, she was 27. She turns 28 this year. She was an all star just this year. This was her best season. But granted, a lot of those numbers did come in losses where her rebounding was up or assists were up for points per game were up, but also just her involvement in the offense and touching the ball more than she had in her career had a lot to do with that. I don't know if she necessarily took a step forward as a player so much as they leaned on her because there wasn't a lot of other talent in Atlanta and they were trying to come back in a lot of games. She tried way more.

"Have been, no offense, no shades in Indiana, but they've been bad. And I just sit there, I'm not going to get the other contract afterwards, because no one's going to be really paying attention to how well I'm playing. If I'm doing it in the playoffs, it's more important. Atlanta has I like the Atlanta thing. It's just, I don't know where Atlanta is. I'm not sure where this franchise is going and while I think they're going to be in a more consistent position a more a better position. I haven't seen it yet. I know what's going on in New York. See New York, I see, I see my Friends. I'm a mess, obviously, I'm a Louisville cardinal, and they love Louisville Cardinals. And I'm signing that offer sheet to go to New York. Now Washington do we know how many days Washington has three days? I think it's four. Four days? Well, we're going to do it right now. So Washington, are you going to max that? Washington will match that offer. Sorry. All right. So that is the three year max any protections Atlanta would have protected at all. That's a big difference. Yeah, we actually didn't work that out. I'm sorry if we didn't do that. New York did you want to sign me to a protected office? Yeah. Of course. Okay. So we have protected. And Washington can do that, correct. They're not running into Congress. For doctor Jacob, but it's so great to have you. Keep track of all this this year. This is a big improvement over year one. We're all trying to do it with all our routines at the same time. Awesome. My shines, Allen, going back to Washington, three year max steel. Yeah, sorry, again, Indiana. Come on, man. Yeah, that land is going to, well, we'll see, right? Atlanta, at least it's probably going to be fine. They can attract other people. Moving on to everyone's favorite YouTube star. Courtney Williams, Atlanta, have you softened your position about her return? I feel given the constraints of this podcast that I can not stop by position. Although, at the same time, I mean, it's kind of a question about how we want to play it here, but I sort of feel the team is that they're not going to, so it's kind of hard to imagine us softening our position. It's the same time I would hope, I'm sure they're reexamining it. All right, well, anybody else. I'll talk to Courtney Williams. She's was good last year. Besides the other stuff, had a nice seat. Chicago would like to talk to her. Oh, okay. We'd like to offer you the chance to come in, be a good citizen, plan, winning team. Possibly have to come off the bench, but with the chance to earn your way into the starting lineup, certainly in future years if you stick around. New years and dollars. We think 120 K is fair. For one year, given your situation, if you'll take it non guaranteed, we can go, we can do it two years. Okay. Anybody else? New York would like to inquire on Courtney Williams. How can you have any cap space there? Well, they didn't sign my asylum. All right, yeah. Yeah. So so far it looks like we do have cap space without weaving anybody else. So we would like to replicate the Chicago offer. Okay, well all things being equal I'd rather go to the defending champions. So if you can go higher, gonna have a conversation. Nope, we will back out if that is the case. Okay, well we'll see. We'll continue thinking about it. Who else is on who else wants to talk to Coney Williams? Please tell me if this is Connecticut. Connecticut would talk to Courtney Williams if she was interested in anything like $95,000 or sorry. I'm doing no considering the other offers that are on the table. Washington would like to talk to Courtney Williams, though. If everyone was offering one 20 for Courtney, you know, we'd be willing to give you a one year offer, you know, get your value back up. So you can get back out on the market next year. But you know, we'd be willing to kind of start our conversation at one 30. I'm gonna chime in actually and say that Jaclyn, because right now, Washington only has 5 players around. In the preseason, we have to place a cat called equal to the lowest applicable minimum, which is about $60,000. For every player less than 11. So that's 6 capitals in this case. And Washington's maximum with that in mind is only a $114,000. But are you willing to offer that? Well, we are willing to offer that considering considering the offers we do have Elena delle donne, we recently signed myisha Hines Allen, you know, I think we would have a pretty decent chance to win next year, or at least get back in the playoffs. So yeah, we're happy to offer that amount to Courtney Williams. Yeah, she's gonna keep, I think she's going to see out. To Chicago. That seems like a good rule for her, especially if Ali quigley is she's breaking down a little bit. She would have a nice role she'd probably be the backup too. She's a backup two on championship team playing with an a place that's I might be good for her and rehabilitator value. I think we'll do the one year protected though to she get back out into the market. She's gonna rehabilitate her values. She's gonna be back right where she was so and she wants that protection. Courtney Williams. Off the board to Chicago. That's nice. That was a nice deal for Courtney Williams. Good for her. Let's do Elizabeth Williams now. I don't know what I said before but I want to do Elizabeth Williams. Who's got offers for Elizabeth Williams, tell me your years and your numbers and I will inquire about the roles. We're definitely still Atlanta here. We're definitely still interested in retaining you. Was sort of thinking a price. You know, on the order of a $130,000, I'm curious to hear kind of what you're looking for. More than that. How much more than that? I mean, she is not, so she hasn't signed the deal under the new CBA. So she was underpaid greatly in Atlanta and to go back to a situation where this team is not looking like it's going to be much of a contender next year..

"But i feel like i don't know i i'd love to see team. Usa having a little bit more fun out there you know. I mean they showed me. They showed that video there. The miked up of lisa leslie hyping up per team and like actually like getting like a chant going again them dancing and like this is this is so fun like they're having the best and there were not even just having fun like they were competitive. Hell like. they wanted to win that game badly. You saw especially the and i wanted to show Courtney williams courtney williams was like she wanted to win that game like there were like you could tell like everyone did but court you'll just like no no no especially at the end like she was like ceiling some of those vital possessions in like she wanted that game and more than i think most players on team. Wnba did But yeah like they were having fun but they were also like when it got serious. It was like okay. We're gonna win this game and we're going to show people that hey just because we're out on the olympic team. We didn't get. We're not in this inner circle for the olympic team. We're still incredible incredible players. We're to kick your ass. Yeah and a lot of the players. They did talk about that. The post game media where they said you know. Take the coaches came to us at the beginning. Okay what do you want to do. and we're like. Oh yeah we want to win. We win this game and that was clear that they did i. The rurally enjoyed the all star game three point contest. I think that three point contest was one of the most exciting ones in a while just to have players putting up twenty seven points in the first round as well i was just like what more can you ask for. It was super entertaining. Super great event. I really i really like the way that the wb executed it. And i'm glad it happened during an olympic year. I think that it went really well. I think he could have gone better. So that wraps up our discussion on the all star game and coming up next. We're gonna be talking about our expectations for the second half of this season but first let's take a break in here from.

WNBA Final Series Game 5

"Fans we've got a great show for you a lot to talk about Lot to talk about including this amazing Wnba finals series that we're getting right ahead to a game five that's right I haven't heard day five between the Washington mystics in the Connecticut Spun will take place Thursday eight PM. ESPN two series has shifted back to Washington each team has one on each other's home court so that really has it been a factor we'll talk about that we're also going to talk about the drama in La a lot going on there so recent comments by the NBA Players Association I don't know if she CEO President one of those Michelle Roberts has sparked a lot of conversation we'll get into that and I'm yeah whatever else we've talked about well first of all DEB I just want to ask you because we covered allow last podcast you weren't here you didn't even get to number one address your Vegas team that you picked to win the championship and why they're not here you're in all the drama with Liz us you didn't even get to comment on that would you care. Is there anything you want to address from the semi finals the Erica shot like you just totally have been absent I really have let's see I for one I still oh dear dinner for her shot and keeping alive just long enough to make it past y'all teams you tell picked the beginning of the season so at the end of the day really taking her to dinner Garretta when you're in Chicago let me know I got you love the list trash talk that you know it's really exciting really being what would the weight room thing do for us you were on the other team like Oh yeah I it was a I think it was poor timing however I live for stuff like that so I've had I was thoroughly enjoying the comments because I am the Queen's trash talking so I enjoyed it I don't think it was the property the time that that fire DC up to be honest Yeah I I don't think it was the right time for it but I mean I like the trash talking I mean I I'm pretty sure didn't Natasha Clouds Day she guarantees the wind Thursday I'm here for all of his arms well let me just say this real quick like honestly not tweeted this yesterday this is just a little prayer by listening we're going to get into the hardcore seven-minute but this trash talkers the thing has started to get a little bit I tweeted this because I think I heard Jasmine Thomas in what was it Oh yes the game the presser after game four she was like you know people were thinking we're GonNa roll over like basically responding to a question about the get to the championship and I'm like who still saying stuff about Connecticut like I am all for the disrespect campaign because I think it's fueled their players is fire them up uh I'm just speaking of someone who would played on the other team like I'm a little bit over like Courtney Williams saying I get any shot I want to like if I'm your teammate I'm like dude food chill with that because the game three she actually didn't get every shot she wanted to you know what I mean like you gotTa be real careful about the trash-talk stuff because you said you can fire team up I think Connecticut completely fired up about things that people were saying July like please resurrected if that's we do but I don't think anyone has really questioned in being a championship contender in at least the last month and a half now the way they've done it yes I mean did I think La was win again yeah but I just don't know there's just so much I don't know about that now the role player comment that came out was definitely ember that was not in July and when you look at the national coverage if you will about who decidedly was supposed to win aw nobody picked Connecticut I know here espn all of our analysts who decided to make a prediction predicted that it would be Washington so I don't think the deal would that's that's very listen that's still very relevant that people pick Washington because we have a game by like that you have won anything yet you know what I'm saying like I don't know I don't think I picked La to make it. I Don I bic La to make it past Connecticut so but no but they didn't know that Ah I mean I think as a player as a as a player I think that you don't say that out loud you may say it on the court and you may talk to you you know like the teams but saying it you know in the media is always smart 'cause they just give you know like fuel to the other team I think you have to be smart with your trash talking but as a fan I'm enjoying it so much more exciting so I'm I'm here for it I just feel bad that jasmine had to arrest that at this point like they've already won two games in the finals or going to a game five she's still talking about people thinking that they were GonNa roll over like I seen that but I get what you're saying about the role players commentary go which okay that's fine but they've been doing a lot more out here than that it's brilliant it's entertaining I just get worried we're people start doing too much happened because I know what that does the other team you know what I mean like Liz campaigns now knows what that does to the other team like you just need to you need to stay humble because it was dying to Rasi they had to shut Courtney Williams down two years in a row because she got a little bit out of pocket and I love Corny I've covered her since her US days I think she is great for the game I'm loving all the coverage of her and her dad is like dream dad right like he is down he is like supporters aw I'm all here for this to be real careful in this league honey because people never forgets no and you're gonna hear about it later so they better back then yeah you sure will and with that let's talk about let's go into our first quarter so we can talk about something and I'm Connecticut WanNa forget this quarter An- that is game three they wanNA forget that because they latorre L- game three on on Sun a Sunday so just like a quick recap on that so that we can get into what was a phenomenal game for Connecticut Lost Ninety four eighty one on Sunday they look like a very different team I'm just the game before John Clo- Jones had a stellar performance thirty two and eighteen but Sunday came around the MVP returned for one. Washington didn't really look I thought she looked stiff personally didn't think that she moved very well but it Kinda didn't matter she still finished with thirteen points six board she's still played twenty six minutes and whether you've got her for ten percent or one hundred percent you still got a garter you still got to worry about her she's still going to impact Act anybody that is going to have to face her so with that Connecticut was looking at a losing home court or had lost court advantage heading in to gain four they were down in the series two one but last night was a tale of two teams they started the game out firing on cylinders I mean they put together quite a first half performance on they led by as much as eighteen points they were up fifty six to forty at the half and so four we go into the second half of of how that game turned out I'm right after the halftime I'm sorry right before Halftime me Williams actually stopped for a moment to chat with our Holly Rowe and she spoke a little bit about why her team was so energized etiquette game five Thursday Courtney Williams doing her best to make that happen holly according to your defensive commitment is completely different tonight why did you change what did I tell you gotTa Win I you know I was a little bit off last game all back against the wall can't take no plays off you already got more is confidence and guess what she has the game back it up 'cause she doesn't need a screen she don't need anybody step up and do anything for her she could go get shots what she wants them now I thought we were talking about three looks like we're talking about gay four now yeah we're not gonNA spend too much time on game three that's because one we are limited on our time on this podcast right now and number two because Connecticut Connecticut Fan so we're moving fast at eight Dave I'll let you start which you think I thought in game force initially I mean Connecticut had great energy and you clearly saw that this was a deciding game and they do that and that's how they came out and they came out ready and but I also felt like DC they didn't look like themselves in the first half they're known for moving the ball really well in and getting good shots making the right pass and it felt like in the first half they were playing hon of one on one and not moving like they do in making extra passes and it showed because they weren't getting shot and when you're playing a team Connecticut who's great in transition you have to be able to put the ball in the basket and slow them down so I felt like you know Connecticut was able to really do what they wanted to do in the first half but then being a vet- team DC came back out in the second half and just knew what they have to do in turn the tables and we're able to
