"It's five twenty one time to check in with the region TV's Courtney Goodman on assignment out in Oak Park this morning hi Courtney Hey good morning to you so couple things going on in Oak Park this morning is the fact that we don't have to emergency room doctors who have tested positive for covert nineteen of you know we now have cases the well past one hundred here in the state of Illinois we have learned those doctors work at rush Oak Park hospital and it's first missing that one of the doctors have not been seen patients for several days prior to finding out about the diagnosis the second doctor may have had some contact with patients and even his or her peers the hospital is now working with the Illinois department of public health due to low level exposure to patients and those who work here and there is also trying to track down those who may have been exposed you know those two doctors are now quarantine at home also coming down yesterday is you know there has been the supermarkets here in Oak Park since earlier this week but the village of Oak Park has followed up yesterday with an order for residents to shelter in place and that means that residents will not flee their home other than to go on investors very task so they can still go grocery shopping you can still pick up food from restaurants they can still seek medical attention you can even walk there Donald of course they can still go back and forth to work by Adam line is village leaders do not want people loitering around town aimlessly this order is because directly related to the cold it nineteen pandemic that's going on an exciting cases that rush Oak Park Elizabeth hospital they're also saying that this is punishable can be slapped with a class A. misdemeanor that's punishable by jail time and a two twenty five hundred dollar fine if you get caught because law enforcement will be enforcing best just to you know that goes into effect tonight at midnight and it runs through Friday April third lot going on here in Oak Park so Courtney are you going back to the channel nine news room there and Bradley place or are you out and about all day now according to station you don't feel confident banned from coming back as this nation was absolutely necessary at WGN we're trying to keep as many people outside of the building as possible so that way if one of us does come down a little bit nineteen it doesn't spread like wildfire and Dominic did a Facebook post and Instagram post earlier this week on explaining what we have to go through you know I'm actually starting my own vehicle now directly going to my lecture the morning and the crews are separate usually I'm in the car sitting with my photographers all morning long well that's no longer the case without hearing where three different vehicle because they want us to remain isolated as isolated as possible wait a minute you mean you can't sit in the back of the truck have a sandwich write your story take a nap call friends pay bills that's what I used to do yes well that's on the front but now they're highly encouraging us the space to stay separate and so that is a personal decision that option that we have but in reality the applicant your colleague in the near future she's okay with that it would be cool with you being in a vehicle with someone that's not really giving yourself either yeah so the only thing you have to go to work at it I agree you know my colleagues have kids of their collided you know I I certainly don't want it they don't want to I mean I could keep track of the contract so what if the conversation is dead so realistic that in separate today yeah well all week long actually cloud probably a good idea stay safe as they say on TV news thanks Courtney have a good day yeah yeah yeah three things and staying healthy look that way yep all right we'll talk to you tomorrow and years Vince from Marengo our first caller so then you win how you doing right I'm doing good I you know about what are you up to this hour I'm just that work what do you do vents I work in manufacturing in the northwest suburbs and what do you manufacture you know so whenever I grill people about what they're doing as they feed me the information a little morsels but eventually I get out of them and what what what do they make there where you work Vince we actually manufacture stainless steel we maker to different sizes per customer specifications and what is the stainless steel used for medical automotive just all different type things out there okay and hopefully everybody is still work in at your place there there are still orders is it okay over there it still is we're still doing pretty good well that's good to hear well you did well today then screws you get the fifty dollar gift certificate from builder supply outlet so great that's correct Preciado well I appreciate you listening and hang on we'll get all the information we need so we can get you that price okay thanks Bob have a good day you too Sir that's Vince the tight lipped Vince from Marengo at five twenty six builders supply so much more than kitchen cabinets check out the edge their state of the art kitchen and bath show room in broad view and when we give it away later yeah we have a really nice fifty dollar gift certificate from an apt to give away when we play the name that TV tune game will do that in about an hour so we are assembled here at your service to WGN for another broadcast days degrees and it's in the news room merry Vanderbilt in the traffic department the sports desk it's Dave Bennett and you your reporter Bob Surratt right here and we just just getting through another day will give you the information you need and will try to relieve some anxiety along the way if possible and I'm looking at what we've got coming up later on in the broadcast alderman Brendan Reilly will be here he's the downtown alderman and we'll talk to him later today you'll hear some of the some of the city council edicts it came out of that meeting yesterday on our newscast this morning will kind of dig deeper into those with alderman Reilly later on today we'll talk to an infectious disease specialist and get the update on what's happening with the corona virus later and one of the more interesting people that I've met over the years David who will he he travels around the world advising companies on trends and he he's labeled a futurist and he's a really smart guy I'm surprised he still talks to me and he'll be on the radio with us this morning at about seven eighteen to talk about how our lives will probably change possibly forever after we get through this thing and he has a very interesting way that he bases his predictions on the kinds of the kinds of products will be using these kinds of lifestyle changes that we incorporate now in times of their normal Sian and times of a pandemic so we'll talk to him later today and if you I can't be with us for any of that later on we post all this at WGN radio dot com and do we still call this a podcast Joe well organized with little we put we don't post a whole shell right yeah that's the only change is that we're not putting the entire show the the podcast are just segments that we have throughout the you know throughout the four hours and we're just not posting the full four hours anymore that's just the engineering Vivian are producer is working from home today I see her I see your name on the phone bank here and I'm always ten did you just hit the button and I think that's a listener well I guess I could do that can I say hello to Vivian you can yeah okay let me just make sure she's OK with working from home this morning I Vivian everything all right yeah everything is great how are you guys you know we're enjoying the smell of disinfectant they're doing a really good job of cleaning are you in your pajamas are you around I sure am that's the one good thing about this and this guy you know you gotta be careful these days on the phone because I I didn't realize my wife was talking to one of the kids out in California and I you know I was I was getting dressed and or undressed or something and walk in the room and I realized oops it's facetime oops yeah so all right Vivian well glad you're there well I wish you were here but glad you're there and now I know what he's doing okay and we're glad you're here to get the latest from the newsroom it's forty one degrees at five thirty good morning I'm Steve percentage the news is sponsored by architect one hundred Cochran show what interests you know as you're probably aware we had snow overnight whoever did it but it's likely you're going to have to put in cart tracks of something because they did approach the home and if they close the back of the home and there's plenty of snow left that had been shoveled very like that hopefully that'll be the best the Gator this direction but we don't know hi how are you know gang related or domestic and today you just have no idea yeah family and friends are mourning the death of a sixteen year old girl who shot over the weekend on the south side police say the victim was walking on the sat sidewalk Saturday night in the twenty two hundred block of south Rockwell when shots were fired the team was rushed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound she died a day later family you have identified the girl as Angie Monroy she was a cheerleader and Benita were as high school and was on her way home from work when she was shot shooting is under investigation no one is in custody Chicago police are still looking for a man after sixteen year old girl was accosted on the brown line over the weekend police say the teenager was originally approached by the man asking for the time while waiting for the train they both got on the train as the teen noticed him following her and staring at her man of actually sat next to the team when he accosted her this writer says it's another example of why you need to take extra precautions I.
