Don't gosh just can only imagine what happens if that leaks. We it's a drive and bomb a time bomb all because of the ransomware attack on a colonial pipeline which You know and this. Is you watch mainstream media. And they don't have a lot of experience with the ransomware tax of so miss some of the points Won the Ransomware was not actually aimed at the pipeline operating equipment who's aimed at the. Recapping a Crazy Week in Crypto History

"Let's start however with a quick review of the stories that i covered in detail. The banner headline was of course elon. Musk and his fickle strange relationship with bitcoin. Dosier in public media. I've discussed this extensively this week. Saw only add this here. There is a conversation to be had about the power of audience in other words. This story isn't just about his whims and vagaries. It's also about how power is met. It out via social media alone has a bigger microphone. Nearly any corporate officer in history. Sure steve jobs could have called the press conference. That had every outlet there but ilan can think of something stupid while taking a dump and push billions from markets. In less. Than a minute of typing. There is a larger question. Here that once again comes back to unresolved issues of social media in society. By the way. If you're interested in this. I've got an exciting joint show with someone that i think you'll really enjoy to explore it more in depth than the next couple of weeks. I also covered the finance fudd around the department of justice in irs investigation first and probably most importantly the headline of the bloomberg p. seems to have been a little fearmongering considering that the sub-headline made it clear that binds has been accused of no wrongdoing. My point in my coverage however was that basically whatever the outcome is probably a net positive for the industry. The worst case scenario is some major set of accusations and wrongdoing and severe punishment which would be a confidence hit in the short term but in the longer term would clear space for better actors to arise in the middle would be some slap on the wrist. This would be bullish both for not having been worse as well as for most likely articulating what regulators expect at a foreign exchanges when it comes to preventing access by us citizens.

How the Golden Globes Canceled Themselves

"Canceled the Golden Globes. What's that about? Well, they canceled it for next year. At least they're not gonna Eric They can't cancel the Golden Globes. The Golden Globes could do whatever the hell Yeah, he said that they're not going to air the Golden Globes next year. And this is all because of the controversy that started a couple months ago from basically in L. A Times article that really exposed the Golden Globes for many things, shady financial dealings being one of them, but also the fact that of this 87 member body that votes for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Votes for the golden Gloves of the 87. There are zero black members, which in this day and age is just, you know, kind of unfathomable. Also, given the fact that the the academy the Oscars went through this several years ago. And the Golden Globes. The H F P A watch the Oscars go through this change their membership of the past few years. They've added 4000 members since 2015 and the the Golden Globes just sat there the whole time and did absolutely nothing about it, like hiding in the corner, hoping nobody would tip pull up the blanket and exposed them. Well, they got exposed so They said that they're going to do stuff about this. You know the problems in their organization. They're going to turn things around. They voted last week to make these changes, but it's gonna take them a while to make them. And so, NBC basically said, and a lot of the entertainment industry distance themselves from the Golden Globes, but the Big One was when NBC said this week. Look, we have no confidence that next year's Golden Globes are gonna be any different than last year's Golden Globes because the voting body is going to be pretty much the same. So we don't want to be associated with that. So we're not going to air it. Maybe if you get your act together by 2023. We'll talk. But next year now we're out. So

The Psychological Principle To Keep in Mind When Giving Negative Feedback

"I want to highlight one psychological principle in particular to keep in mind when you have to give negative feedback and that principle is emotional intelligence now when we think about emotional intelligence. There's actually a bunch of components to it but five in particular but i'm in a highlight to today because these two when you really dig into them are two of the factors that really come into play. When we're in these difficult situations where were having to deliver a message that might not be well received or might come out of the blue for that team member. Who's on the receiving end. So i want to go through these two factors really quickly and talk about a couple of ways that you can strengthen yourself in these factors so factor number one again. This is one of the five factors that bubble up into what we would call emotional intelligence or e. q. The first factor that i want to highlight is self awareness so self awareness is our ability to have knowledge of our own emotions. Our own feelings to be mindful of our own behaviors. Our strengths and our weaknesses. And then understand how those are going to affect people around us now. Think about that right. The reason why giving negative feedback is difficult for us. Typically is because it creates an emotional reaction in us if we were perfectly comfortable or perfectly unemotional about it. It's unlikely that we would feel as i don't know of a better word to say. But itchy about giving negative feedback. It creates an emotional state and us. That feels uncertain. It feels maybe guilty. We feel just. This slew of negative mixed up emotions and being aware of that fact is really important particularly when we wanna make sure that we are behaving and acting in a way that moves us in the direction of our goal which means our goal is to deliver clear feedback. That helps that person improve.

And that's the goal is to help people may have May be able to relate to some. They're going through. Start at the beginning. So what was your story. I mean what what happens. That's my story with addiction. Starts when i was probably twelve years old. Twelve well starts before i was born. Because like many addicts most addicts have encountered. There's a generational element to it so My father had struggled with with alcohol his whole life. He was an alcoholic and ended up getting sober a couple years before he died but he died. It was already too late. It was a lifetime of of excess for him. He was fifty three years old. Not too long. After that my cousin my first cousin passed away at forty seven years old. He was a wall street banker And was very high stress job and he he left four children and family and unfortunately all this came came pretty close to home but i never really acknowledged the fact that i had any problems. The diction in fact. I said i am not going to be like my family. I'm not going to be like my father. My cousin my brother all the males pretty much. My family struggle with us. And i i just was always a high performer in work and in sales so i thought you know what this is something that i that. I don't have a problem with what happened. Is i just kind of pushed in the closet and i kept a lot of secrets and because it never got to a point until fairly recently where it affected my family or in my work i always kind of made the mistake of thinking. I didn't have a problem. And it was only until i thought it was gonna lose my wife when i when i acknowledged it and fortunately fortunately been sober from many vices for for about fourteen months. I've been putting a lot of work for recovery. And i really do feel like a new a new man a new person but i will say. I've struggled with addiction for the bulk of my life. Since the time. I was really probably twelve years old till i got sober when i was forty one so most of my

Otherwise people listen for themselves until after the game of course we have to ask our towns about that. Where where your emotions running high at that point where we're going through your head is that game came to an end there. It just so happens that he and anthony edwards doing a joint press conference and anthony edwards really kind of stepped in and took the reins mandate grown man. ‘The Underground Railroad’: Barry Jenkins’ Journey Into American Darkness

"Was certainly excited. To see the underground railroad josh least be couple episodes. I was able to fit in this week for this discussion. Because as you know. We're both big barry jenkins fans on the show. Moonlight was in my top five year. It came out of beale street. Could talk was my number one film of its year twenty eighteen but i have to confess i was also reading it a bit just based on the title just based on what i suspected the subject matter would be. There's that element of brutality. That i imagine would be part of this show but i was less worried about that and really more focused on the toil of watching people emotionally suffer and suffering along with them. And that's certainly something we've come to expect from berry jenkins work and then you said something last week on the show josh. I think you'd already caught up with an episode or two. The gave me hope. You said it's not really what you think. It will be or something to that effect and i thought okay. Maybe i'm in for a big surprise here and maybe it will be a relatively pleasurable watch. And then when. I admitted to you today in our slack that i was going to have to binge these two episodes just prior to recording. You said binging may be harmful to mental health. And i knew that. I was in for an experience.

The Future of Fashion Education

"So we're starting off our in the no conversation all around fashion degrees. So i think there's been a lot of who can. I say who has around fashion. Getting fashion degree is a necessity. And i think it's also personal preference but if you look at what code. Savage has done in terms of the creative arts. I know they didn't get much funding but everything everybody has done. In lockdown has revolved around creativity. Were watching tv. Or those people have art directors producers costume reading books time without all they signed. No we do then. I mean even if two children important as for their development ought arts and crafts build curiosity creativity imagination. It's supports their development and communication scales. Like it really is so important in terms of a person's development. And and i just feel like i guess. In the olden days going back thirty four years is not particularly old. But maybe it wasn't so much of a need to go into fashion occasion. There was more opportunity the fashion. She wasn't as big but now it is so so competitive and for my experience being university you know doing the fashion retail management course. I went to university. I wasn't tidy. What Will the Future of Work Be Beyond 2030?

"So if i can kind of package this together it sounds like first of all very hopeful for the future. There'll be more human to human interaction in the rules that we have this constant learning a new adaptation will enable people to still have jobs in the future. One of the the reason. I'm saying this is at one of the the main fears that many people have and this has come up in the podcast several times. That once or autonomous vehicles or enough of these kinds of autonomous technologies. Come about. it'll make people completely redundant. It'll erase enough jobs that there will be this. Massive pool of people. That won't have an opportunity to feed themselves to close themselves to attain the amount of money that they need to survive so to me. It sounds like your a little bit against the idea of a universal basic income. Is that correct or am i thoroughly but when you look at universal basic income for example. No one's really benign prove that they work. We've had finland tied kinda we've had the us y combinator. We've actually had scotland We've had germany trollop mostly the vessel by incomes games by that have included anywhere from between the couple of hundred people to content to twenty thousand people. Jim really concluded that for about thirty. Percents of people It actually had a meaningful difference because all of a sudden having a union having access to universal by skin comment that they no longer had to scrimp and save him con to worry about. Just how how are we gonna fade that families. You know so thinking not worry way. Betsy is absolutely important. And this is where if you want to build people up and if you want to develop economies the two things that you should invest in is education and care because those drive everything else is education. Education is one of very few sort of things by said actually has a cross generational impact. You know if. I'm educated as an individual than my kids will more than likely be educated and they will get better. Pay jobs that kids. We'll get to pay. Jordan keeps fading down the chain.

"The topic of discussion is talking about slop like that. Kinda cute guy. Whatever well not talking about the slop is fed picks nor am i talking about what soldiers eating. The child hall knows. I'm talking about has nothing to do with any of that but i'll tell you what it will do. I'll give you a hint. Slop is actually an acronym not so much a word however this word or this acronym. It stands for simple list of obligations prioritized. It's kind of similar to As an sap is i didn't know what an s. o. p. was until joined the navy but and this whole p. stands for standard operating procedure. And that's basically just step by step instruction manual. You're doing a particular job you go to the manual at all of the steps. Get the job done. There's a lot of reasons for that. A lot of its efficiency. Uniformity in performance things of that nature. And so anyway. Slop is the simple list of prioritized right well. So p. is a step-by-step manual or guide us employee's or workers to get a particular task. Done all right. So slop- is pretty. Close to and so be as obi just following the steps and slop you have to organize your own priorities or prioritize your own obligation as it were now. Slop is an acronym said four. Simple obligated prioritized. Now let me start by saying today. I'm not going to lecture you Gonna have the sermon to preach or anything like that. Without a doubt. This is a testimony and it has a little bit to do with this weekend with my complete and utter frustration. With my amount organ overwhelming sense of suffocation but sit god spoke to me this weekend and really opened up my eyes so i figure if it opened up my eyes maybe it will help somebody else out there. That is listening. Is there anybody out there. Well anyway. I am just fine today and of course i have no shortage of things about which to testify but since i have no guest co host. I'm going to be talking about slop. And i'm gonna keep on testifying in about slop however i know i'm not the only one with a good testimony. Okay come on extended the invitation. And i still extend the invitation for you to come and share yours after all. Isn't that what life in the sun is. all about the show. What christians are encouraged to share their testimonies. Yea okay let me get a couple of things out of the way first of all. This isn't going to be a lecture or how to. I am in no way shape or form better or more special or less special better than anybody. There's no difference between us. We're all in there. Okay now also painfully aware that. I'll make a lot of mistakes so if you would please. If you happen to hear me make a mistake and you just pay attention. I'm sure you'll hear one. Just let me know. okay samir. Message or comment either one. I don't mind public view. And before i dive headlong into this talking about swap topic. I am going to say this again. I am still a human being. I'm not perfect. I'm still learning not withstanding. I do believe that. God has no respect of a person and all that he bestowed upon me. He wants to get to you. Why because i'm no better than you know. Worse than anybody else that wants to get it to you. Just like he gave it to me so for that reason. I'm obligated to testify about what god has done in my life as an ambassador to the throne. I encourage others design. You know we're just ordinary people telling about what an extraordinary god who loves us and takes care of us you know still these testimonies faith that draw those who are hurting and loss into the realm of his everlasting love. And don't forget i john. Five ten eleven you know first yarn five tenths as one who believes in the son of god has the testimony in himself. The one who does not believe. God made him a liar because he has not believed in the testimony that god has given concerning his son and then of course in verses and he goes on to say and tests and the testimony. Is this that god has given us eternal life and this life is in his son so remember we are obligated ambassador thrown to give back testimony he lives.

Cultivation of the Witness Consciousness - Guided Meditation

"I know what it's like to deal with chronic pain and in this exercise you will be the witness to the pain. Not the pain itself not a part of it simply the witness learning how to cultivate and develop witness. Consciousness is a powerful tool by being the witness. You engage that part of your mind which is able simply to observe thoughts and internal images as they arise and dissolve without getting caught in them. So let's get started to find comfortable place and sit upright in a chair. Ronna meditation cushion with your head balancing happily right on top of your spine. Now place your hands palm down on your thighs or else risk the fingers of one hand and the upturned palm of the other with the tips of your thumbs lightly touching and gently let your eyes close and turn your eyeballs slightly downward or whatever. It's most comfortable now. Take a couple of deep slow and pleasantly soft breaths three nostrils as you inhale notice arising in your belly and as you xl notice your belly dancing back into its natural position. So let's do this about six or seven times with each xl. Release any unnecessary tension in your face. Your neck your throat. You shoulders chest pelvis. Smile gently turned the corners of your mouth up to the sky. And let's just breathe for a few moments here

"As you're listening to the best of the odd couple with chris bruce and rob harker kyla. Murray was on the nfl network and as aghast and they asked him a question about the draft and whatnot and tj. Take a listen to what he said. I do believe have influence in it. I don't know why wouldn't you know. I think you know if you've got a guy quarterback and you trust them you you want to be the face of the franchise for a lot of years. I think he should have influenced disconnects. I mean everything. Take we built around the quarterback. So i had a relationship with stephen in in cliff and You know i'm. I'm excited to see we. Are you ready. Tj man okay if someone asked me of kyla murray should have say on the nfl draft when it comes to the cardinals. You're going to way. No how zero. What is this. Can we stop with everybody wanting to be general manager and older team and all this other stuff. I'm not by by a column or you know why. Tj couple of things. first of all. I would. I wish he would just be worried about playing quarterback and reading defenses and doing those things to be the best quarterback he can number two. I don't believe for one second that he knows all the college football players enough to be involved in the draft. I would ask him if there was a play on the on the nfl that he played against. And if we were thinking about signing what do you think of that guy you know. What kind of player is do you know him that. Yes but raffarin now. But i'm talking about this is about. They were asking them about the draft. And here's the other part. i'm not buying into. Who do you blame when kyla murray tells you to take somebody in the guy is a bust who loses their job. gm or kyle mberi. It is On the gm. So i'm not. I don't wanna hear about players who all of a sudden water pick the players that they're playing with and in the draft. Tj you know football you work out with guys. "I for somebody you don't know that's the whole person. And he coulda just lift it up. I mean okay. He's got money nike game to deals or he's not poor but he still could have just lived it up as an nfl also player making all that money now worried about what's going on with african americans in the streets and stuff like that. He can even grow up in the streets. He was adopted by white family so but he did make that sacrifice a rob a lot of people criticize them saying oh this was just to be relevant this anymore to me rob. It's more courage to do it where he did as a bitch. Warmer as a second stringer because he was expendable had he done it when he was at the top of his game. When rhonda wars he he was going to what he's going to be the best quarterback ever. You remember that right. Absolutely if he'd done then he'd still being the league they would have been like. Hey he's doing what he wants to do. But as long as lead us to the super bowl and he's still a great quarterback. He can do what he wants to do but he did it when he was expendable it. Of course he's out of the league. So i think it took more courage to do it when you were a second stringer who they could cut in a minute and nobody would think twice. Then if you're a star if russell wilson did that rob they will. He caught him going to happen. Hey it's cruise. Bruce are from inside the couple on the black effect network talking. At and t. "This is dumb question though. Do you think we end up being unfair to players if lebron james. Let's say the lakers get bounced in the conference finals this year and lebron's on the podium and he says look man. Somebody's like lebron. How tough is this. I mean you know this. We know you wanted to championship. You guys thought you at the best team what you know you're going. You're going home before even the finals. And if he was like you know what. I mean this is look i wanted to win. Of course you know. That's what i play for but i got a great life man. I got. I'm going home to my tucson. Wherever we heard that was that loss he went a little. Yeah but lost it was at dallas. Y'all can go home miserable rise right i. I'll be right but you you get what i'm say- russell westbrook. Did it remember a couple of weeks ago. a reference. the stephen as come. Do you think we're a fatal. Lebron probably would get criticized for being like look man. I'm happy. I guess i wanted to win. It hurts me that we did. We aren't going to the finals. Going to fifth title. But i man i'm good. I'm like i've i gave him my best. I've won championships. i'm good. He would get criticized. Yeah it just depends on on really like i. Don't think that if he goes like while the doesn't mad or don't care like like there was a situation in detroit. The tigers had this great team. I can't remember the year. Chris and they lost to the red sox in the al. And the i can't remember what year it is now right and they had a great team right and after they do a live interview with prince fielder after the game and he couldn't have been more cold or like did madder than deneen of a live interview after the game so Just like do yes. He would know he was like man. This is over. I got kids to raise owl care about you. Know like okay and there were fan. Who will watch you into a heartbroken. Do you know what i mean. It just wasn't not. did you. Got a boo hoo or whatever but he really made it like. It didn't matter. And i don't think people that's what i'm saying if made it like. He may gladder extreme right. That's what i'm saying if lebron didn't matter and he got a great live but he's going to his house right what if he say a man. Yeah like this has been this has been you know like we tried to get it done this year. We wanted to repeat more than anything so many things that didn't go right for us. And then you know the other team over there man. You know what i mean or whatever it is. The other team was just better than us to share. I don't think people would criticize them. "They're kinda like cairo. Nobody looks at kyri. Say he wasn't a leader of that team. It was lebron thing but still the huge shot. He was the point guard. So you know usually expect the point guard to be necessarily the main score and all that so nobody looks at kyrie though in shoots down his one ring and especially because he had that big shot was right comeback. It's hard to take that away from him. he was you. They don't win that without kyrie right the simple as that so in that regard i do think he's he but i think he would have been better if he had he wanted. Okay see but i don't know that they would arrive. I mean they had their chance that year they blew it up three one or golden state and they always have problems with cleveland anyway. Like lebron dominated k. D. cleveland o'casey. Seventeen four something regular season matchup. So i don't know they. They could have beat cleveland. I don't think they would have so. I think it all things considered. We don't know that he would have wanted okay. See he's better off as much as people wanna always in asterix. It was staff team. Oh you know. He didn't prove he could lead to t. He's still a two-time champion. He's got the monkey off his back. And to your point rob. He was defined. Who's mvp. right. Allie can you imagine it kevin durant right. Now if he didn't have a title like he'd be under immense pressure so i think all that's gone even with the talk. All it at pressure's gone. So i i think he's still was better off making the move because even as people wanna put an asterix there. Nobody disrespects his game. You know what i'm saying. No i know nobody disrespects so but the interesting thing is you know this year will it take away for many people that imaginary asterix be short. Catch live editions of the odd couple with chris. "We are pleased to have. Amy dash joining the couple. Amy how are you. Wow thank you guys so much for having me on. I love this show. I'm so thrilled to be talking to you. Guys thanks so much we really appreciate it. Let's get to it. We watched the tony busby. That's the lawyer who's representing most of the plaintiffs against the shawn watson and he had a press conference. Today we talked about the case. Is you put out a tweet. That really rocked me because to me it took it to. It's this thing which already looks bad to a whole 'nother level. I'm going to read your tweet. And then you can kind of respond and expand on. This is from my reading of the busby. Presser is that they are basically discreetly accusing shine watson of trafficking women locally and nationally a state and federal crime. If true would not surprise me. If busby was cooperating with the feds. I mean that that that puts a whole nother degree of seriousness. On this feels like and let me say this. Amy real quick before you respond after you respond. Can you explain for people who don't understand what trafficking is you know what and what it entails. You break the law. Because a lot of people think you'd have to be bringing somebody in from some other country or they have to be under age or something like that. Can you explain that after you. Give your thoughts. Yeah definitely look for say a obviously naming for a moment lost start over. I'm sorry i just wanted to say that. Obviously does shawn watson is innocent until proven guilty. So whatever he's accused of and how however compelling the people who spoke today may have been and it's important to keep that in mind but You're absolutely right. I thought that this was definitely busby hinting. At the possibility that watson was allegedly sex trafficking women For a couple reasons. And then i'll break down the law but you know first of all the most obvious being that. He had a a human sex trafficking expert and survivor. There who made a pretty powerful speech there would be no reason to have a woman. They're talking about that. You know unless it was relevant to the case And also he. He emphasized certain things like for example. There's an allegation that john watson had flown woman in from atlanta that he had uber her somewhere..

"Because three years ago after that fight he had three more fights with easy. Then you call me a great. Ufc fighter and he won two of the trees but they will tough any got knocked out and one so it felt that that was gonna that was cut a show that there's a deterioration i'd say said there's an aging that takes place when you take punishment that's a fighter so i think it would wait all of the things i just said and then you look at the young and guy. New is booming. Getting a delivery system having been there before for me. I had the captain. I put all that together. I said you know what there's only one result here. I know a lot of people. Were picking me all chick for the and i get it. It was a more developed fight or more seasoned fighter. More experienced fighter was a former new Golden glove champion and navigator. He was lecturing collegiate wrestling saw. I get it. He was better than all those areas. But this guy changed a tiny engaged in god new. Winning saturday night everyone started right away talking about possibly fighting a john jones junior. And how would those to match up and is that a fight. You would like to see that those two. Yeah i'd like to see because judge conic. I like to see iconic people. You know i mean you wanna see what they can pull up. Because they're special they do magic. They took things that aren't supposed to be done. So this guy special talent. What are those lifetime. Once in a lifetime. Talons john jones. So listen he's got a literally he's got a big mountain to climb To do this. I mean it's all the man moving up with a giant of a man at a giant of a man who's approved technically at knows how to use power better now. So that's a that's a hell of a mountain over climb or to climb but the guy is so special is he's been searching special talents on jones and there is precedent sport. You know if you remember at least in my sport where michael springs are great light-heavyweight to an olympic gold medalist. Great light heavyweight champion. He put weight on. You put it on the right way. He got a guy that knew how to put it on the right way and he went up and he fought larry. Holmes who was undefeated at the time trying to break rocky marciano record and forty nine dollars or tie it. He would put the weight on the light. Heavyweight went up to heavyweight every word set to small at one the actually wind up eating twice. Because you beat them in a rematch. So it can be done at. It's intriguing but i tell you he's got held at journey in front of them to get it done against god knew who as i said not only as college but now he's got the delivery if teddy obviously image is getting bigger and bigger but boxing is still king. Especially when you look at the purses that these guys make in these big. You know championship fights in boxing. Do you think if in gano beats john jones or maybe has a couple more defenses and just becomes the king of the sport. And i know he started out in boxing in. You've worked with him in boxing. Could you see him or would you like to see him. Come to the boxing ring..

"It wasn't a second option. He was the third option. Not many teams have a seventeen point score as their third guy so that was good the challenge for love and i get it and it was a challenge for chris bosh as much as he appreciates playing with lebron and winning those rings about it he basically became a glorify role player he sat out on the perimeter and waiting for the ball to come to answer was a spot up shooter overstatement but that's essentially but yep i came the same thing in cleveland and that can be tough and so i get it i think an interesting comment they re say it was the system and you gotta figure out how to fit into the system look i say it all the time luke bryan is the system unto himself and that makes him this so many of the all time great players who typically fit especially going back nowadays a lot of guys dominate the ball and over dribble and things like that but you know there's the trying good there's princeton there's motion there's high picker audit and there's lebron like lebron is a system the flax lebron himself for the most part everywhere he goes it's changed a little in la these last couple of years he's he's fit in a little more especially this year but typically everybody has to fit around lebron and that i think is what makes it challenging and i actually think rob that was a big part of kyrie's challenge of playing in cleveland was that he had to adjust completely to whatever lebron wanted to do and am i bringing the ball up on this time or you oh you got okay you know like and that was tough on him and i think now i think first of all he's matured he's a better player now than he was in cleveland but i think he also is feeling a lot more comfortable playing this role hard is over dribbling for as much dribbling he didn't houston he's getting rid of the ball. The ball is moving. He and his and he's not just looking for we right passing the ball to everybody. Tame system is flourishing as a two guard because he's really a tremendous score as we all know and he's he's able to showcase it but i think that was a big challenge for kyri and a lot of the. I think it was a chance for weight weight. Essentially had to say i'm gonna be eighty percent of the player could be so we can win the championship. We saw that in the first year did were we see that. In the first year they were back and forth way. Didn't back up and it was. Okay my turn your turn but way realize if we're going to win is gotta be based around lebron so i will.

I think you know within the next couple of years is what i would say because we're working on the script now so it's a long process you know. That's the thing about movies. People see premiered and i see you know commercials in their life. What happens is somebody walking on those movies for years. Long before i produce straight out of copy all saw that right had been in the work for ten years. Before i even got involved with it and i was on it for like two years so like the movie they take same line along by the way kevin hart ice cube. That movie had been around for a while and funny story with ride. Along is that hugo was attached and they were trying to figure out. Who's the white guy that we can do the salt and pepper buddy comedy. They were always looking for the right white. Gotta cute for right or wrong and of course you know. I came along. I had a movie called. Think like a man. Kevin hart was having his moment. I maybe right white guy in a white guy. I got somebody for. Y'all cavs interesting. You say that. I'm also shot a horror movie in in louisiana a couple months ago call. That will be out later last year. Is that a black horror movie. It is a black horror. Movie anomaly right. I people as soon as the first sign of something crazy. You usually will not in that movie law to admit it up reducing it so you know we don't let air never horror movie where black people get to laugh at least for a little while lagging only black movie. I remember where i mean. A horror movie where black guy lasted the entire movie was. Ll cool j. What was that movie with. The not lake placid. There was something with that. What now elbow just who was the blackout last night. What are you deep blue stuff. Yeah g was gonna conduct. Anaconda with cuban cuban not right for sure and then all go. Pay me. i'm on the team. I'm the quarterback. This is the contract. You agree to pay me my money. That's all if you don't want me to. That's something different. If they paid him less they might be able to get some better players. It ain't about that. it's about. He signed a deal. They will if he playing for his contract. I signed over his contract. Chris they're not gonna go. Oh yeah let us give you. We're gonna cut four guys so we can pay you more doesn't work like it's a one sided. We'll have everybody can do what they want. His burger is not responsible for every other player. Yes he is. He's the leader of the team. They do look at him. No that is my opinion. Most of the stuff that we talk about as our opinion. "Jaguars your thoughts. I wanna find out from you. Chris does this count as a minority higher because his first name no no. I wouldn't be surprised. There's people try to my throat and bias. You know to pacify the numbers right. Exactly all right but i did. I'm shocked at urban. Meyer took this job. Chris shot thing yes. What was the austin p. Job not available this is going to. Nfl side let me stop you. We we stop you. Was it not just two years ago that you pick. I'm just keeping you on this. Rob parter that you pick the jacksonville jaguars to make the super bowl chris. They had a unique team would an awesome defense that they no longer have. I'm telling you that a guy of urban meyer stature who has succeeded and done all this stuff that he's done in college football shouldn't have to take. This also ran job. Bad fan support us small market where they have to play two games internationally because they can't sell tickets one game more and more every year this just not a great football situation. They thought this was going to be green bay south that you can have a small market and have people care about just their football team impact stadium every week. They can't do it. Chris the nfl made a mistake with jacksonville and urban. Meyer made a mistake. He should be waiting the dallas cowboys job after next year. Waiting for bigger or better job. His credentials are head and shoulders above that. You know to me taking the jacksonville. Jaguars job is like. You're down and out and there's nowhere else to go and you don't wanna go back to college. Why would you take this job. I know they got the first overall pick. I know lawrence is coming. I know they got some other draft. Picks people like that's fine. I just don't see how you gonna win there. I really don't chris and they had a chance a couple years ago and didn't get it done. I don't know if that window will be opened again. Urban meyer deserves to be a coach. At one of the creme de la creme franchises and not an also ran a doormat and asked what the jacksonville jaguars franchise and situation is. I hope they pay gazillion dollars and if and if this is just a money grab and he wants to do this and fine but really. He deserves better than this job. That was cute. Thank you that was nice. You're wrong not surprisingly you're wrong. This is a great job. Rob parker what are you talking about..

"couple" Discussed on Coffee with The Couple Cure

"Welcome to coffee with a couple of cure where we share practical tips for your relationship before you finish your first. Here's Jay Laurie pipe. I everybody today's episode is going to be about anniversaries and celebrating. Our victories today is our anniversary. Yes, we have had good anniversaries. We've had really trying inverse Sary's. This one was difficult not because of our relationship, but because of things surrounding what we do in. And that kind of thing where counting off of least I'm coming off of a big month of. New endeavors. And that's if you know anything about me, I throw myself into what I'm doing. So came off of that into kind of a. What could have been a really really bad thing. But it took some research and and actions on my part to make sure it didn't snowball into something bad. So whereas we were going to take off the weekend. It ended up being kind of a Downer and pretty high stress for me stress to the point where just like, I think. Something got blown out in me. It's like I can't keep doing this. I cannot keep doing this. So I'm going to need J to take the lead on this. Because I woke up this morning going. This has been a hard twenty four years. It's been a really good last five years but coming off the month, and then trying to take some rest, and then it being, you know, us being hit with something that kind of took away. It turned her turned our retreat into a working retreat. So coming off of that. It's hard to celebrate. Sometimes. Well, and that's really where I wanted to go with this was. You know, anytime you try to change something. Life is going to ask you how serious are you? It's going to throw up road blocks. It's going to bring up old memories. And sometimes it's hard to think where victorious at all. Where we need to invest. Some energy though is celebrating the victories. We do have because life is going to continue to bring up the the rough stuff. It's going to remind us of all the things that went wrong. It's going to remind us. We're not in heaven yet. This is still a rough life. There's definitely going to be days, you know, seasons of sunshine and seasons of storms and. Earthquakes and tornados. What I've seen. And and what I tell people is you can't paint a masterpiece using only the bright colors sometimes there's dark colors in the masterpiece, but painting masterpieces victory. Sometimes our victories are just getting through today. And that's victory, and we need to sometime, you know, we need to value. We got through today today was hard, but we got through it. Yeah. And honestly part of my victory soon to be could be I'm gonna have to go a little differently with the business. I can't I can't keep it up. You know, I do have an end. And when I come to the end of myself, there's always something good on the other side. So this might end up being a really big victory. Roy I so even out of our mistakes, if we learn how to live healthier if we change what we do if we change our interactions with one another to something that is healthy that's a victory. And so I'm not saying paint, everything with with my typical pollyanna. Everything's fantastic brush and not my all gray colors or hey, here's some bright spots. But I know something bad is on the way because that's just the way life. Take time to truly celebrate it without qualifying run out qualifying the future. Even in the midst or after. Hard seasons. There's victory in developing our enduring that's I think the biggest victory when it comes to. Certain ancient sayings. Sir. John, I think life is going to throw things at us and say. Oh, look at all those things you've done wrong. Look at all the things that aren't working well like hard. This is right and. When we allow ourselves to go down that path is very easy to stay on that path. It's very easy to stay on the negative path. It is difficult to see even. Through the negative that there are some victories going on. And again, I'm not saying ignore negative behavior or ignore things that are not working. Well. But the there can be victory in just noticing. Hey, I noticed I have a negative pattern. That's that's really tearing down the relationship. The victory is going to be changing that behavior long term. You know, even if you have to establish some accountability with somebody and say, you know, I really want to take my wife out. And celebrate something once a month. And maybe you need somebody to remind you and say, hey, have you been keeping up with that? Or have you been doing those things that you've been trying to do to become that better person? You wanted to be now if there's been betrayal or a lot of harm from one person in the relationship, this is not we don't intend for you to take this and say because you're down because you're hurting your harming our relationship, you're not celebrating the victories. There truly are things that can happen in. Relationships that can.

"couple" Discussed on Coffee with The Couple Cure

"To coffee with a couple of cure where we share practical tips for your relationship before you finish your first Cup. Here's Jay Laurie. Pipe. Everybody and welcome to another episode today. We're going to be talking about came you say it differently. Is basically a technique or maybe it's not even technique. It's more of a like something to remember when you're having breakdown conversations. Or when it seems like you're just not getting anywhere in conversation. So our example comes from watching a couple of people, we know we were going to restaurant and one person was they were asking for directions. But what they were asking for was, where's the parking lot? And. They. Felt like they were being clear, they they knew the intent of why they were asking the question, but the answer was the parking lots right in front of the restaurant. And then the person would say, but that's not what where's the parking lot. And and so then they would say is right. It's right. They are around the restaurant and the person giving the directions had been there before. Right. And I I guess he had a person hadn't yet probably had her. Yeah. Hadn't been there in a while. And so one of the things we noticed was that the person. Asking for the directions was feeling some anxiety about driving in a big city and driving in this area. And then some anxiety about getting into the restaurant. And and yet they were so kind of impatient. With the answer. That they couldn't think through what they were truly trying to ask. And it was like they were impatient with themselves as well. Like, I I know I should be able to do this differently. And and that couldn't and somehow in this communication things just continue to Kennedy terrier rate. It was funny because the person giving the answers like it's in its around. You know, it's it's in front of the building the parking lots in front of the building. And then they were trying to interpret like are you are you wondering where the parking spaces are like where to park and the person could just kept saying, no, where's the parking lot? And what they were asking really was where's the entrance of the parking lot? Should I go straight and make a left or should I turn left and then turn into the department? Yeah. You know because there was a street. It was on the corner. So they ended up against figuring out. But I thought it was kind of got a little tense there for a bit it got tents. And it was something that from an outsider's perspective. We could see that that neither one of them really knew. How do we change this dynamic and both of them kept kind of escalating, especially the person who is feeling they anxiety because they were assuming like, you should know what I'm asking. Right. Right. And and I'm not picking that happens all the time with Jay. And I so yeah there and so it's number one an opportunity to live in grace or. Mercy for the other person. Because sometimes their own emotions have them. Stuck their own state of mine has them stock that they just need an answer to something. And can't clearly tell you what the question really is could be just their state of stress. Right. And so it's, you know, the idea of Kanye ask it a different way. Number one is to ask the person to us to take different approach can use different words. Right. Can you can you phrase it a different way use a different sentence? Yeah. And if you're both ready for it, then it won't necessarily hack the other person off. It's like, okay. I'm not understanding what you're saying. Obviously. Can you say it in a different way that I might be able to like I really want to answer. Your question is just were speaking to different languages right now, or I don't know how you're defining things or since I can't see into your brain. I don't know exactly what you're talking about in. You know, maybe then we'll be able to take this more calmly and in you'll get you'll get you know, one step closer to your answer. The answer you're looking for.
