With me live now more what to expect this week in the way of air quality men stand smoke burning from the from those wildfires in Napa and Sonoma County's will continue to drift over the Bay Area throughout the day today. That is the forecast. I talked to meteorologist Roger Gauss with the National Weather Service, he says. Just how bad the smoke will be, is still a big question mark how heavy the concentration is going to be. That's still a big concern and unknown at this point, But the winds also win that calls. Some of this increase in fire activity overnight will continue to be out of the North Northeast, and that would blow any of the smoke. Up in the North Bay down towards the Bay Area Air Quality Index for much of the Bay area is moderate. Right now, however, some areas it's unhealthy for sensitive groups, God says. If you're smelling smoke, avoid being outdoors and close up those windows and doors. So take the necessary precautions that you need to, especially if you have health conditions that cause more troubles by the smoke recently, really study by Stanford University found that smoke from the last round of wildfires may have contributed to the deaths of around 1000 people in the Bay Area. Right you want to have elected people decision on your behalf. You want elected people making decisions on your behalf because they are two things representative and accountable. "On the number one race. But that's that's the exact same thing as saying you're glad Kobe did. Because he's is your rapists the same thing yeah and I have no problem with. Yeah no problem with. I'm saying do you understand how you can say I'm offended. I understand that some. You'll be like oh that's a fucking asshole move if curt schilling tweeted me about who you know Rachel maddow dying or something. Everyone that was Criticizing this guy would be defending curt schilling for right now. I only out the critical critical all around everyone. I wouldn't be the Jerry Shore. Of course I just think no I won't say if if curt schilling had a mean saying I hope Rachel Maddow dies well the Lynching Ching thing that he did whereabouts different. But he did that vaguely. If you're saying targeting criticize that targeting a specific human being I think I think I don't think the defense will be strong as you're painting hating it to be. If he said I hope woman dies. I think that'd be a tough defense. I also think there's a huge difference between saying that was a stupid tweet and you're an asshole and you shouldn't be allowed out to tweet that none of us are making the argument that the document or twitter should step in but I can say hey. That's an asshole tweet. Hey that's an offense now that being said If I tweeted hey glad rush so to announce a late stage cancer yesterday. Rush limbaugh announces. He has late stage lung cancer. Rachel Maddow Announces Ashes late stage breast cancer. Say if I if somebody tweets at Rushlimbaugh I'm glad you're going to die. Fuck you they. They keep their twitter account. If somebody let me tweets Rachel Maddow. I hope you die fuck you. They're suspended from twitter. That's definitely a guy who's not even by the way equally critical of both that I would say I would say they're allowed to say it. Yeah I would say. I don't think he should be suspended but I would say is I always always say just explained to me the upside of Tweeden somebody our like. What's the what do you get for so I guess my point was more that this guy shouldn't be criticized for saying hey? I'm celebrating that Russia. Why why not fucking? Why can't I criticize him? Fuck addicting the tweezers. You can't but what I'm so. So here's where my real problem was the after my first tweet I started getting responses like. Hey we're not saying that. He should lose his job. We're just saying that people should notice the and it's all the same type of speak that they would say if you called Erin Andrews a gutless pitch a million examples. It's the same type of Shit and I. It was coming from the the side. That's supposed to be. Hey say whatever the fuck you on. WHO CARES IF TUCKER offensive people should keep a show? That's the side. That is now tweeting. Hey I don't think he should Russia now I would say over. Employer is definitely take a look at then suggested we want this guy representing or that should be encouraged. I agree with that but but it's also so we live in the real world. In fact I think those tweets of people celebrating Russia's desk should be used as a benefit of the rights argument. Where you stay quiet you stockpile doc pile these and the next time someone gets in trouble for say something say hey you celebrated guy had cancelled absolutely? I agree real shitheads and we all say shitty things I agree. It's hypocritical to be like. I would never say something like that about so if you hate the guy he might say yeah. I don't I don't think I've ever delighted in the Okay Cancer Diagnosis. I mean even even Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Well I think we in this room. I cried about micro five minutes making jokes about her ghost talking but that's also not real. I understand I mean I mean I mean it's real that you grand mother has cancer. I guess it's not I mean you're on the show if point being thing is this is twitter. People don't look at themselves. They're all fucking assholes on twitter. We sure people were met me made those. Yeah but but but you also allow those jokes rush limbaugh guessing limbaugh and you think about this of course bits about his lung cancer charity Songs Rush Limbaugh. Whatever speak that way about not someone of course what do you mean over the years? What do you think he said? EQUA- you're you're comparing it to your grandmother like that's a character like parody songs on rush to that could be the most recent cancer but my point Russians rush limbaugh celebrated somebody. I have no idea I'm you. You may be right they are. His enemies are flagging all kinds of ridiculous things. And Look. I mean you you talk into a microphone for Thirty Years Stupid Shit. And he's he's the purposely made people hate him so I don't think it's as you at good let them die and I I don't either but I I think I have no. I'm just saying I have no problem with it. Yeah but I'm just saying it just as a basic human being when somebody I've seen it when somebody gets diagnosed with late stage cancer like saying oh great good. I'm glad they're GONNA die. It's just that's that's just like lying yourself on fire. Take take a look at but I think this is really fucking care. You can catch this guy tweets. Of course my point is that guy individually. There's just asshole. Let's all get a reaction out of people would just surprised people gave us. Why ignore the pitch? It's just it's just too easy. I think the disagreement that the brief brief visit agreement Mike and I had on twitter last night. Because you're saying you can't be critical of the people who are like sitting there risks over Kobe and She'd but yeah you can because they're both like stupid reactions actions to a news of this Kobe choice. Russia got cancer. Well I mean he proudly Lee smoked cigars shoes. It's different than choosing to you know. Pin The woman down in Raipur Dough. Yeah like I mean it's just. I'm sorry that is different now. We're talking about his choice to get into the helicopter.

I thought he was just playing along with me for a second. Then he goes. Hey nothing's been joe anything about Stephen Murphy or no big big fence fixing Stephen Murphy. Nice people I've ever met really to say a couple of times. I met him with Jerry. He's a very nice. Yeah I mean I can see why this guy he's our. That's that's the problem. I'm sorry to hear. Some very nice guy took his own life yes he beat. The you know the public coming at you realize they put like twelve hundred cards of bubble gum talk a lot. It's a lot of bubble gum. It's the most so I if most people don't even know so so so. The Red Sox the most bizarre scene. It's so it is beyond antiquated. Even jared Corrobos was like. Why are you doing this? He said last year no problem. He did a sucked and they got their getting getting rid of well. That's tr- mookie Betts and all that stuff so every year the Red Sox have truck which is a kid was not a big deal like this has become come. A Red Sox new ownership promotion thing by the audience. It's not a huge. Do they make money off it in any way. There's no way I can't imagine Komo sponsored by. Maybe I could see that made it so they literally load up the truck in head down the spring training. Now you know. Given the way the sports climate has worked in the last last two decades or so around here it usually follows the day after the Patriots. Either winning or losing super bowl which makes it even more relevant thinking about day truck you the death of the Patriots beat the Falcons. They came back from twenty eight to three blast. Their the DASH the super bowl. I mean nobody would care and they load up the truck they actually do load up the entire truck and then driver the way the red sox fan who the old codgers watch because they have nothing else to do something do kill an hour. You know. It's like Jerry Seinfeld taking a shower or just kill twenty minutes like they're they're killing our of three hours five hours of their day these old lunatics watching a truck because baseball team is going down. A bunch of rich guys are going to stand awesome houses and hang out in Florida in the winter. And they're just going to sit there at their own. You know what should make you happy to know. Most of this is housing Chelsea watching this one couple. That seemed to know you was just there to they get an excuse to drink during the day. I don't blame. I be drinking starting early matter WASCO and yesterday by the way is a warm day for truck date usually. It's like four degrees frigging. I don't I've never understood that my favorite part was ruining it for the children. Now let's have been over the line for generation's look. I get emails and messages advice. Attendance rate well hold on real quick. Why why wouldn't you if you do it Massachusetts Do you think they get less. sexualize down there. Yeah I I don't know I would think there'd be raping. I wonder if the if the whole gang comes with Moore. They don't have all the tools they need they need done. Get the biggest tool. They want right there. I mean I would think I mean you know they ply lie those kids how much how much have bubble gum. And he's been used to feed the children to entice them to come close. They were loading kids on the next year. What's that you're loading kids? They do that you know that they bring. Yeah they line the kids up there in chains. They they line them up and they throw him in the back of the truck they do about to affair in North Carolina to do number one and number two. They can't clean themselves up well. "Wasn't hungry for food. Their Prophet said Amen once wills exited the stage Ernest Knox and Oscar. Daniel took their places the top square-shaped trap door cut into the raised wooden platform. One of the most tragic aspects of this moment was how utterly alone these two guys must have felt no family no advocates no one else with their skin color. Who could offer a glance of shared sadness there? There were no black citizens left for south county in this horrible moment. All they had was each other from author Patrick Phillips quote the last thing knocks Daniel Saul before black sacks replaced over their heads was a hillside dotted with thousands dozens of white faces. Young and old rich. And Poor men women and children squinting into the Mid Day Sun they would have. I've seen the rooftops of the fine houses on Kelly mill road the spires of a dozen little churches poking up through the tree tops and on the edge of town and the hazy gray the distance the familiar humpback silhouette of Sony Mountain in quote unsurprisingly. Sheriff William re designated himself itself as the executioner he would be the hero of this moment as the bells of a nearby church struck. Noon read raised a hatchet it high into the air paused and flung it down on the rope from the Brunswick News as the trap was sprung owned by the sheriff. The crowd cheered and the cheers lasted several minutes. While the two forms dangled in mid air the crowd roared sinister Mr Approval for several minutes. It noted finally the people of Forsyth County gotten exactly what they wanted once. The cheering faded Dr. Arnold Lynn Dorm climbed a ladder stethoscope in hand at twelve eleven. PM Knox and Daniel were declared medically dead. They were cut down and laid beneath the scaffolding. Has the two bodies were loaded into to a single pine box. Sheriff William. Reid climbed the same ladder in cut down the nueces using his knife. He began to dismember each news. Cutting cutting them into neat one inch segments he then walked outside the barbed wire enclosure and began distributing the pieces too eager. Onlookers men and boys gathered around excited to get their hands on a souvenir physical proof that they were there. Since there was no one to claim the bodies of Knox and Daniel and local officials feared they might be burned. The decision was made to transport there remains to Atlanta. Once their the anonymous bodies ladies were donated to a local medical college in the aftermath of the public executions for South County reactions across Georgia were fairly really mixed. Some papers praised the people of for side for delivering justice others brought the hammer decrying. The barbaric spectacle staged aged by Sheriff William Reid Governor Joseph mackey Brown was particularly incensed. Publicly Calling William read a quote Jellyfish Sheriff off in quote for not ensuring the privacy of the executions a couple of weeks later the Atlanta Constitution published a scathing rebuke of what had happened in forsyth for South County. The op-ed writer proposed a new state law authorizing the governor to fire derelict. Local officials from the article had such a law existed. The state would not have been disgraced as it now appears to have been by the sheriff of the county actually cooperating with the mob in violating the law which stipulates that capital punishment. Shelby administered in private in this particular instance. It is evident that the official was jockeying for local political political advantage. The finer citizens agreed that this was a big black eyes on the state of Georgia. And it certainly wouldn't be. Its last I with the hindsight of history. It's easy now to see the utter tragedy of this whole situation. It's multiple tragedies actually. It's a tragedy that someone beat and murdered may crow. It's easy to overlook this in light of the injustice of the lynchings. It's a tragedy tragedy that so many black men were terrorized with false imprisonment. It's a tragedy that Rob Edwards was lynched by a mob without any due process. It's a tragedy that the due process afforded Ernest Knox and Oscar. Daniel was so haphazard and hasty. It's a tragedy that these two teenagers likely equally innocent died at the hands of such evil people and perhaps the greatest tragedy was that more than a thousand black residents for south county were violently driven off their land and from their homes in the fall of nineteen twelve. One thousand nine hundred eighty eight to be exact while many of these victims were poor penniless. sharecroppers some were not some were successful landowners who lost so much author. Patrick Phillips highlights one such family the Kellogg's Joseph and Eliza Kellogg tirelessly worked saved and reinvested their earnings to the point where they're small family farm had grown into a sprawling two hundred acre estate at the base of Sony Mountain at the time of the racial terror for in one thousand nine hundred twelve. The Kellogg's were the largest landowners amongst for Saif counties. Eleven hundred black residents like the others their land eventually fell into the hands of foresights white land predators Per Georgia law. The process to take control of these lands was fairly simple. All you had to do was fence in the abandoned land in question. Wait Awhile Register. A new land to the county clerk pay your taxes Zand Wallah. It was yours in this way. Most of the land owned by black residents was Acre by Acre unethically transferred to white ownership in the local officials for site. County never questioned it. It's incredibly unjust. When you think about it you don't believe that people of other races have the right to live here once again? This is the Oprah Winfrey show episode from one thousand nine hundred seven. She's interviewing residents of foresight county. She asks the question extends the microphone towards a forty something white lady. Lots of blush. Bright Blue Jacket big white earrings in the shape of triangles angles. They have the right to live wherever they won't too. But we have the right to choose if we WANNA why community. Also did you catch that. She said we have the right to choose if we want a white community. Also this is crazy when you think about it. In America a country driven by the free market. How exactly eighty plan to keep your community all white without violence or threats of violence? She's essentially saying that. If a black family buys a house there they you have the right. The right to run them off Oprah handles this with total grace. Listen excuse me why is it and that there are people in this county. Obviously who are afraid of black people. She walks across the room to interview another guy. He stands up tall burly light brown hair and an enormous bushy brown beard. What is it you are afraid? Black people are going to do. That's what I'd like to know. I'm afraid of them. Come into canning. I lived in Atlanta. I was walking in Atlanta and in nineteen sixty three. The first blacks were bussed West Fulton high school. And I go down there now and I see my neighborhood my community which was an ass community Nass neighborhood and nail. It's nothing nothing but a rat infested slum area because they don't care they don't care thank the crowd claps. He takes his seat. Now stand up. You know Oprah's not having it. He stands back up. Do you mean they us the entire black race the entire black quarterbacks and you'd have niggers here we go all white people in the south of heard this argument by the way. What's the difference between a black person in negative? I've talked to black people black people. They don't come up here they they don't want to cause any trouble that's a black person. A nigger wants to come up here and cause trouble all the time. That's the difference. That's the the difference he says. I've got to admit Oprah's composure. In the face of these bigots is pretty amazing later in the clip a narrator aerator says that Oprah and her crew made sure to be out of the county before sundown and this all this leaves me wondering there. Is it possible that the horrifying events of nineteen twelve spawned these vile comments seventy five years later. Also if none of the accused used black men of Forsyth County killed may crow than who did and would they kill again and finally is nineteen twelve turns to nineteen thirteen. What would happen? When some foresights counties exiled black residents attempted to move back? We're going to answer those questions. They wrap up this story in kickoff story number three. That's next time.

"By nine. AM The next morning. Court was back in session. Judge Morris made a point to heap praise on the attending soldiers after that the sentencing. He didn't take long his words. You will be hanged by the neck until you are dead and may the Lord have mercy the on your souls. He said October twenty. Fifth is the official date of the double hanging just an hour after the sentencing and seeing the two hundred person brigade was back on the muddy roads of for site county as they began their long journey back to Atlanta in his book. Blood at the root. Patrick Phillips Recounts Are Really Sad story from that March to Buford at one point Ernest Knox spoke up which was fairly unusual. "Uh? Marconi awards Noma counties. News talk ks aro, Santa Rosa. From ABC news. I'm Michelle Franzen. Brad Kavanagh has been sworn in as supreme court Justice cavenaugh. It follows a bitter battle that's left deep divides across the aisle and country ABC's Jonathan Karl says that could play out next in next month's midterm election. The polling that we have seen before and after this confirmation battle you've seen a clear shift. Republicans are now more intensely paying attention and enthusiastic about the midterm elections. The gap has narrowed in several key races especially Senate races. There's no question that at least right now one month out the momentum has shifted back towards the Republicans. That said they they still face it very much an uphill battle and keeping control of the house. Now that cavenaugh has taken the oath and the supreme court. What are some of the cases that the justices may take off the supreme court has about forty open cases, currently some of those of already been heard. But looking ahead. There are some key cases already on tap. One of the most watched will likely be gamble v. United States a case concerning. Double jeopardy, and whether the court should do away with these separate sovereigns exception that means someone could be tried for the same crime in different sovereigns, for example, being tried for the same crime in federal court and separately in state court. The question being whether that violates the fifth amendment's double jeopardy protection. "Thank you so much. You're talking with us. You bet. This is cinema county focus. Issues events and interviews with people who make some Noma county. Great. This is sonoma's county focus. Good morning and welcome back to cinema county focused. My name is Michelle Marquis and in-studio. With me is Chris Nellie. He is the immediate past chairman of north coast score. Thanks so much for being here. Thank you, Michelle. So tell us a little bit about score. I've heard about you before. But there may be people in our audience who have not heard of score. Sure score is a resource partner of the United States small business association. We were formed over fifty years ago by the SBA to really take advantage of the retired business executives in the community that really shared one common aspiration and that was to give back to their respective communities. So that was the origin we've evolved, we're not all retirees. Now, we're looking for younger, currently, still employed people. So it's evolved from that sense. But we do share one thing and that is giving back to our communities to help by one on one mentoring and education to help small businesses. In entrepreneurs be as successful as they possibly can. And the business world changes and vol's, but some things remain true. Which is why it's so important to have people who have the experience and people who are new in the business world as well to sort of get that that sort of scope of what's going on. Yes. Definitely definitely. So the websites is north coast score. Dot score dot org. North coast dot score dot org, and how many people do you help each year? Oh, gosh. Oh, first off our chapter is one of over three hundred and fifty chaper chapters, nationwide encompassing over thirteen thousand volunteers and our local chapter north coast served cinema, Napa lake and Mendocino counties, and we average a little over fifty engagements per month. So over six hundred engagements a year where our mentors are going out and working with either people wishing to start a business, and they have an idea or existing businesses and they've encountered some sort of obstacle and they're looking for some help. Yeah. How important is it to have a mentor? Have you had mentors? Oh, gosh. Yeah. I think it's I think it's very important. And from the business perspective, I mean, clearly in life in general. It's it's always nice to have a mentor, but in business, I think I probably would refuse. Prince a large successful publicly traded companies. Why do they have boards of directors? They need the outside of. Regulator if you will to judge the success of how management is fulfilling the the goals for that business. And in many cases, I don't think anything changes just because you're small having that second set of eyes to look into hold you accountable for what your goals, and what you're trying to do in many cases, you know, you may have excellent technical experience. But there's a lot of the business stuff that you're just not that right schooled on so no, I.

"Over ninety five different organizations that receive funding from our auction and again. It's it's just a testimony to. The fantastic people in the. Generosity and support of our wine community as well as our. Neighbors here in cinema, county that step up and make sure that these organizations are, funded, in, the, great, work, that they do is so important and we're gonna make sure it continues so tell me a little bit about how you decide if you've got ninety five different organizations who are. Being at beneficiaries of this event which ones do you focus on how do you, choose sure absolutely we have some core elements that we do look at we look at the. Environment we look at the arts we look at health care, we look at. Literacy. Things, of, that nature, but One of. The things we decided a number of years ago is, that's work with the experts on this and get some fantastic guidance and that's why we went to the community foundation here of sonoma's county this what they do for a living and they're able to help us a dentist. By the, need here in sonoma's county in in beneficiaries will then of course go to them make their presentations about their programs that they need funding and then we all meet to discuss that but by working with Karen dimmer and the community foundation over there they are a wealth of knowledge and just a fantastic. Resources test to make sure that every month every dollar that we raised as well spent in going towards words really needed here in sonoma's, county and are any monies raised? This year going to? Help, these. Anoma county vintners foundation emergency relief fund not in this. Auction that we did at. Our barrel auction that we. Did and April of this. Year we had to fantastic lots that were, dedicated For. That they're raised over one hundred thousand dollars and that money goes into our emergency, relief fund and I'm. Glad you brought that up because it's a fun that I'm particularly proud of as we know whether it's fires that we've been enduring, here to things that may come Addison the future this fun is gonna allow us to react very quickly and, very directly to immediate need out there are county in the situation that might arise now or in the. Future so we're really happy to, have that resource now available and how is that fun, doing are you able to keep a lot. Of money in that so that we are ready in case something, happens I think so you know it's something that will always looking to build on obviously and we, have some ways that we can do that but it's doing quite well and it's brand new so. Just having it as a victory for us right now and to be able to have that resource, that we can use to help the community so we surely hope to continue its growth and to have it here for many many decades to come Come to help our community that's great and just outside of this wonderful taste of sonoma's well as the cinema county wine auction what, other things. Does the may county Vintner's association due to promote the work that vintners do you when and. Wineries in general here in Tacoma county sure we know one of the things. That we're doing this year that were very exciting about. Excited about and it actually happens? The day after our auctions so we moved from one thing to another is a program called Vinexpo explore and? We're very proud. Of our, international programming here that we do cinema county vendors to. Show the world not only all of our fantastic wines, but are wineries in sonoma's county we wanna make. Sure that people all over the world know who we are and know how fantastic our products are so this Anoma excuse me the Vinexpo explorer program. We're actually bringing about eighty of some of the world's top wine buyers from all, over the world here Here. Too sonoma's county for three days they'll be having. These, wonderful cinema county immersion with our, wineries and food and wine and all sorts of other educational components as well as the ability to sit down and talk to our wineries about possibly? Purchasing. Wines and taking them back to their respective countries or restaurants shops whatever may be to increase that, exposure of phenomena county there as well as we. Want to show them that you know we are open for business all is, good here in sonoma's county and you know we love showing off our beautiful county so we can have these people come and experiencing them accounting and then go back and act. As ambassadors so we're very excited about that and then another program that our marketing team is really working hard on. Is in October it's county, wine month so you're. Able to go on our cinema wine dot com website and see all sorts of wonderful promotions that winery Rates are going to be doing in October for sonoma's county wine month, for consumers, whether it's special tastings all. Sorts of great events that they'll be. Doing so that's, really exciting but you know is involved in so many other things from our government relations departments we do a lot on the digital communication to. Get the word out to consumers. Regarding our wines what's happening in our county so we stay pretty busy here but it's, a lot of fun. And then it's an honor to do it that is great and I was actually just poking around on the website That's normal wine dot com and looking at the snow Mua month page in October and there's gonna be some wine offerings and some different events and. Already there's quite a few different wineries that, have. Posted. Aspect of? Things. That they're doing additional tastings special discounts that you can. Get free shipping on different things. So really, go and check out cinema wine dot com and click on. That link for the county. Wine month to find out definitely in check back often because there's more being added all the time I find, and also one thing, that I love and I I'm guessing that the. Cinema county vendors association. Had something to, do with this is that winds fly free out of cinema counties. Airport on Alaska Airlines I take advantage of that all the time Wade fantastic isn't it yeah and I know our partners are. Trio partners in tourism worked hard, on that as well so yeah there's something that we hear more and more. Consumers really like. So that's a great thing it is a great thing Of. Course it, does mean that every time I visit people outside of the. Area these same Michelle did. You bring wine with you Fourth absolutely Yep yeah but it's it's a. Burden that I'm happy to bear Definitely, bringing the. Wonderful lines of cinema county out. To my friends and family well thank you this. Sounds like. So much fun I know personally that this is a great experience it's great as, you said tourism wise to. Let people know that. Saddam accounting is still strong are wineries are doing great our chefs are fantastic so McKinney is a great.

"You're purchasing your ticket, you can sign up for some of these wine talks as well and. Other nice to you because. They're space throughout the day so if you're really. Into sparkling wine but you also want to learn about Sarah's the hip knee wine on the block you. Could sign up for multiple different wind door very fun what about some of the chef demos do. Do you know any of. The demos that are happening that you can tell us about you know I, don't I think some of. Those are still being worked out but we have? Over thirty five chefs that hold that were so fortunate and so honored to have their to participate this year and I know. They're excited they enjoy showing off what. They can do in their restaurants and talking. About how their food pairs, with so many wonderful county wine so, there's thirty five different food experiences there for consumers? To enjoy so it's really a great it's not only, a lot of fun but as, we. Talked about. These seminars there's some great food and wine pairing Experiences too right right that's that's a lot of fun to enjoy. As well and educational to you I think people. Still despite. Us being in wine country for those? Of? Us who live here in Snohomish county wants to attend the taste of cinema on September? First at, the green. Music center we still might have a little bit of, trepidation about pairing wine food together and not really sure what to do and these kinds of experiences can really open your eyes. Up to the possibilities that's. Exactly right 'cause you'll have winery principles they're chefs as well and then you know they know about their winds in about foods more. Than anyone and they'll give their own personal suggestions as well yeah. That's very fun and then. You can also having tasted something together, with a paired wine go oh yeah, I'm gonna do this again at home Exactly let a fun now you have some things that are. Happening prior to the taste. Of cinema on September first is just sort of get you ready and also, give you a chance to go. Out and visit some. Of, these. Great wineries as well tell us about some of the dinners that are happening. In in advance well the dinners are actually associated with our wine auction oh great later in September on twenty September twenty second is a big cinema county wine. Auction, in that actually starts on, the Thursday night before on the twentieth at paradise ridge and we recalling that event the best party ever and it's going to be fantastic evening of great food and wine and a wonderful band. And dancing. There. At paradise ridge of course you know paradise ridge, was on one winery, that we did lose during the fire in it's kind of a coming out for them on the rebuilding process. So, it's just terribly. Exciting could be there that night and be able to celebrate not only are. Events, but. They're rebuilding process as well and then Walk over and onto Friday night where we do we have a number of dinners for auction participants all over the. County actually from very small intimate dinners a little bit larger ones and. All, featuring the local cinema county chefs with the winds. Of, of. That particular winery who's hosting. The dinner. That night really fantastic food and wine experiences we have chefs you know like Dustin Villette here who is on our auction committee. Actually and so many others that are joining in. And participating and supporting the those Friday night dinners so those are going to be very special food and wine experiences for. The consumers, and then, of course Saturday is our big charity auction where it's the largest charitable fundraiser. In sonoma's county and we service over ninety five different charitable beneficiaries. From the monies raised for. That event so we're very excited about that and the auction itself is going, back to the macrame estate Shirley. Is excited Last year we, got so many fantastic comments about being there it's a beautiful facility and we're so grateful to Kramer for hosting us again in in BankE family for letting us be there so we're really looking. Forward to being, there again, and tell us a, little bit more about these Anoma county, wine auction it's it's scheduled so that there's sort of a preview happening I in the live. Auction and then a party pretty much exactly yeah we have a little bit of. A reception time there, where people can interact and have fun and get to know each other and then, we sit down and have this extraordinary auction we have a fantastic auctioneers John Curley who's. Returning who is extraordinarily high energy. And a great guy and we have forty one fantastic auction. Lots this year Wide variety of fantastic experiences from going to Wimbledon to. Actually going down to Florida to, emerald Agasi new fishing tournament and have Dan Kosta. Of all Denali wineries, on your boat fishing with him and having a spectacular time, so all sorts of unique experiences to be auctioned. Off their any and, then after the auction you're exactly right there's a a party right there on the grounds of LA Kramer. Where you can go out and celebrate the today's auction and the monies raised for our community and just enjoy the rest. Of the day that's so great tell us a little bit. About the honorary chair for the auction George hamlet junior what. Could. Talk. All day about George he he and his family have just been amazing and the support that they have done for this auction. For cinema county vendors for cinema county has been amazing. A lot of people don't know George lost his house in the fire as well he and his, family and so stepping up. Here and, being chair this Shear I think not only we are so grateful for that but you know I. Think for George it has a special meaning as well he really wants to give back and he and his family have done so much for our community in the work that they're doing he's just an amazing guy down there. In in southern part of our county in sonoma's county and the. Work that they're doing whether, it'd be auction. Lots or working on helping bringing in sponsors and participants all the way to the beneficiary side and and talking about you know where our money's are or to the best use to help people in our. County he's kind. Of been all over so that type of support is is very, extraordinary. We, had, the same support from Barbara BankE last? Year we've had the same support for people like Joe Anderson and Matt Gallo and Dan Kosta and John Charles both said all sorts of wonderful people in the. Past has stepped up here whether, it'd be chairs and all those people are stepping. Up again this year, just to be a part of the auction. So So it's really inspirational to see Vince like this happen in the. Background how many people step up how they do care about our county and the people in our county it it's an amazing, thing to see I'm talking with Mike Hanky he is the executive director of the cinema county Vintner's association he taste of cinema which is, so much fun to walk around tasting with wine food cooking demonstrations seminars marketplace themes lounges all.
