Markey fends off Kennedy in Massachusetts Senate primary that divided Democrats

"Joe Kennedy. The third loses Democratic Primary Challenge of Massachusetts Senator Edward Markey. By Steve Leblanc for the Associated Press in Boston. US, Senator Edward Markey of Massachusetts defeated. US Representative Joe Kennedy. The third in Tuesday's hard-fought Democratic primary harnessing support from progressive leaders to overcome a challenge from a younger rival. WHO's a member of America's most famous political family. It was the first time. A Kennedy has lost a race for Congress in Massachusetts Marquis. Appeal to voters in the deeply democratic state by positioning himself as aligned with the liberal wing of the party he teamed up with a leading Progressive New York representative Alexandria Cossio. Cortez on the green new deal climate change initiative, and at one point labeled Kennedy quote a progressive in name only that helped Marquis overcome the enduring power of the Kennedy name in Massachusetts. The thirty nine year old congressman sought to cast the seventy four year old marquis as someone out of touch after spending decades in Congress I in the House before moving to the Senate Kennedy said Tuesday night that the results aren't the ones he'd hoped for but pledged to work for Markey's reelection. The senator is a good man. You never heard me say, otherwise Kennedy told supporters at an outdoor rally. Kennedy also suggested that the movement of supporters the campaign pulled together would continue past the current election. We may have lost the final vote count tonight but we built a coalition that will endure. He said I would do this again with all of you in a heartbeat. In, the waning weeks of the campaign Kennedy leaned into his family's long political legacy in Massachusetts his pedigree includes former president John F. Kennedy, former US senator, and US Attorney General Robert F Kennedy, his grandfather, and former US senator Edward Kennedy who held a Senate seat in Massachusetts for nearly half a century until his death in two thousand, nine Marquis countered by leaning into. His own family story growing up in the working class city of Maldon with a father who drove a truck for the Hood Milk Company in one campaign video marquis also paraphrased a famous JFK quote saying we asked what we could do for our country we went out we did it with all due respect. It's time to start asking what your country can do for you. Marquis also found himself on the defensive at times during the campaign with Kennedy. Repeatedly trying to portray him as having a tin ear to Racial Equity Concerns Kennedy Faulted Marquis for his initial opposition to the effort to desegregate the Boston public schools beginning in the nineteen seventies marquis countered by noting that he changed his views on the contentious issue that tour at the fabric of the city he also said, he supported the creation in one thousand. Nine hundred seventy, three of a state Senate seat aimed at helping elect a black senator to the Massachusetts Legislature Kennedy also repeatedly pointed to the father of Dan Roy Dj Henry a young black man from Massachusetts killed by police ten years ago. Henry's father has criticized Marquis saying he failed to help the family seek justice markey said he has apologized to the Henry family and signed a letter seeking a Federal Justice Department investigation into the killing. Marquee also wasn't shy about talking about the Kennedy. Family at one point pressing Kennedy to tell his father former U s representative, Joe Kennedy. The second to stop supporting a Political Action Committee that was running ads against Marquis I'm sure your father is watching right now markey said tell your father right now the you don't want money to go into a super PAC that runs negative ads Kennedy said he had no idea if his father was helping fund the pack late in the race Kennedy also. Landed a major endorsement when Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi formerly backed his candidacy while Marquis who served with Pelosi in the house for decades congratulated Kennedy Pelosi's decision angered some of Markey's younger Progressive Supporters Marquee had earlier won the endorsement of Ocasio Cortez and fellow Massachusetts Democratic US senator. Elizabeth. Warren Ed. Markey wasn't afraid. He offered his expertise and partnership. He wasn't scared of big policy and didn't use kid gloves. It's great to watch him overcome the odds and wind tonight Oh Cossio Cortez tweeted Tuesday night. The Corona virus ended the way both candidates could reach out to voters severely limiting more traditional means of electioneering like knocking on doors, shaking hands or. Big rallies instead, the campaigns were largely waged on line with virtual rallies, virtual endorsements, virtual fundraisers, and virtual roundtable events to discuss issues. Eventually, as Massachusetts began to suppress the virus and emerge from a near lockdown, the candidates began to take their campaigns on the road with appropriate social distancing rules and face masks in tow. The showdown drew criticism from some Democrats nationally who feared it would siphon time and money away from the primary goals of defeating President, Donald Trump and winning back control of the Senate. It also wasn't cheap with both Kennedy and Markey raising millions to pay for campaign staff television, and digital ads and old school campaign flyers. Marking now faces a general election contest where he's considered a strong favourite in a district that has historically elected Democrats hill face the winner of the Republican Primary Kevin O'Connor in November.

I'm Congressman Jim Clyburn. Here is start. Good evening. I'm Congressman Jim Clark burned here in historic Charleston, South Carolina. There were no major glitches or crashes in a presentation that while lacking energy and enthusiasm, still seemed to move forward. Tonight's theme is Leadership Matters, which was one of the themes on night one really with Americans peppered into the production to express their dissatisfaction with the current leadership. The US Army Returns to Twitch

"The US Army took a hiatus from twitch as public outcry and bill in the US. House of Representatives took aim at the military's use of video game streaming. The US Army is an active sports endorser, many eastwards, companies including complexity and ESL have deals in place with some of the armed forces be at the Navy Airforce, marines or the army itself. The US Army East sports twitch channel became the source of controversy after viewers would into the stream and started commenting things about war crimes. When the army moderator then banned users civil rights groups like the American, Civil Liberties Union or to this was a violation of free speech as the Army's eastward team is federally funded in late July representative Alexandria Cossio Cortez introduced an amendment to a bill that would make it illegal for the armed forces to recruit via livestream platforms like twitch. In late July representative Alexandria causing Cortez introducing the amendment to a bill that would make it illegal for the armed forces to use live streaming platforms like twitch ostensibly for recruiting the bill is defeated in the US House revs by a vote of two, ninety, two to one, twenty six. With the return to which today, the US army said, they are re examining the process for how bands are levied on the platform. Instead of moderators outright banning people into its chat, they'll put them in a glorified time out. So their contact could be examined in a bank then be levied if justified while bands may not be handed out as freely as they were the first time around the US army store reserves the right to ban people from the channel if they're violating, which has guidelines when the US army goes live again, comments will the flood the page it'll be interesting to see how the story develops. The civil rights groups decided to get more involved with monitoring the US Army's twitch channel.

Gun Violence Spikes in NYC, Intensifying Debate Over Policing

"A New York. City has experienced a surge in violent crime in recent weeks, including a two hundred percent increase in shootings between June, fifteenth and July second of this year, a compared the same time in two thousand and nineteen over the July fourth holiday weekend, sixty four people were shot. Eleven died when we're gunshot wounds and the last four weeks New York. City has seen an increase in shootings. Compared to last year, there was one especially. especially heartbreaking shooting on video of a father gunned down in broad daylight while walking hand in hand the six year old daughter, the Bronx, but it isn't just gun violence troubling the big apple in the past two weeks, there was a grisly knife attack in the subway and a stabbing in Brooklyn, following the George Floyd protest against police brutality. You were police department disbanded. It's plain clothes unit, which has been involved in a disproportionate number of fatal officer involved shootings last week at NYPD captured a video, mocking the new overly cautious policing tactics being implemented in New York City a following the nationwide protests against police brutality in. In early June New York City Mayor Bill Blogs, you announced. He's moving resources from the NYPD to youth and social services as part of our city's budget. Mayor de Blasio proposes cutting nearly one billion dollars, and then PD are presentative. Alexandria Cossio Cortez scoffed at the proposal calling it a disingenuous illusion thing. defunding police means defunding police on Thursday during virtual townhall because you cortes talked about the uptick crime in new. York City, pointing out constant new NYPD hasn't happened yet, and there's still an increase in crime, a proposed theories for the crimewave and asked do we think has to do with the fact that there's record unemployment. Unemployment, in the United States right now as she continue the fact that people are at a level of economic desperation, we have not seen since the great recession and the Democratic Socialists hypothesize the increase in York City. Violence could stem from Renton demands and people shoplifting bread. Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren't paying their rent and are scared to pay the rent. She said, and so they go out, and they need to feed their child, and they don't have money, so you maybe have to. They're putting the position. They feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry that nights. Okay so let's break this down Carrie. Did she offer any information? Suggesting the shoplifting of bread is on the rise. No no, she did not. Offer any information or proof that people are being evicted McCain pay their rent now. Okay so I've got Dr Carson on today. He the Hudsucker secretary as you know, and he's the one who talks about foreclosures and Ranson evictions and stuff like that, and of course as you know because you're a smart news person of fifty, some odd years old. You know that there had been abatements for people paying rent or getting addicted or getting foreclosed on right. They literally can't be evicted, or it'd be foreclosed on under the rules. Put Out by Hud Housing Urban Development. Run by Secretary Ben. Carson, so we don't have any proof because it isn't happening. People are being shot and killed in the streets of New York. It's. It's not over buying bread or not for stealing bread, but there's no proof of anybody shoplifting more bread in new. York, so that's unverified and probably untrue, and there's certainly no proof of people being evicted or being foreclosed on because there are rules in place protecting people right now, but I guess the broader question along with why the beep is this person in Congress? Has To be wife. She saying it. Because it's also ally that there has been no defunding or disbanding a police in new. York 'cause you just said if the the crime unit has been disbanded. The Crime Unit that actually was on top of the most violent crimes, and stopping is no longer there, therefore the violent criminals who are not stealing bread. Are Out there, killing each other and killing innocent people, so your thoughts on this. Would you hear this this dolt this? Dope. AFC saying such stupid things what goes through your mind

How B.C.'s Indigenous communities are facing climate change, and creating solutions

"The signs of climate change are everywhere. Lighter snowpacks others rising water levels and the conversations around climate are shifting just two years ago the phrase. The green new deal was just a bullet point in political platform since then it's expanded into a worldwide phenomenon and a solution. Some feel will slow down. The human caused portion of climate change. Jillian brave noise cat is been there. Every step of the way he worked with elected officials to help draft the green new deal resolution. Julian is a member of the Canam Lake Ban to cast skin in British Columbia. Hi Julian welcome back to the show. Thanks so much for having me so first of all. What is the green new deal so the green new deal began as a resolution introduced by representative Alexandria costs? He'll Cortez of New York and Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts. It's a resolution with big ambitions to take on the dual crises of inequality and climate change but the discourse here because America's media market political scene often spills over into Canada and Europe and elsewhere has also been picked up by sort of more left leaning forces in other countries so the New Democratic Party. The Social Democratic Party in in Canada picked up the green new deal as part of their platform and has been talking about it in the Canadian context as well and use climate activists who are also sort of affiliated with the left wing and Canada have also been talking about potentially a a green new deal for Canada. What the green new deal is in. That is big jobs infrastructure investment. Sort of package so your listeners might be familiar with sort of carbon price and tax approach. That has been led by the liberal government in Canada and the distinction between that approach and the green new deal is that rather than sort of forcing consumers and businesses to have a off where they have to pay higher prices for gasoline. And things like that to sort of benefit the environment and to lower emissions. The green new deal says that we should invest in decarbonising a whole set of industries and sectors in a way that will create jobs and promote a more fair and equitable economy. Why is this important for indigenous people in Canada so I think that first nations and indigenous people in both the United States and Canada have played an outsized role in the fight for environmental justice over the last ten twenty years? Maybe even further back. If you look at the history of resistance to pipelines and Forestry and mining you know first nations have often been some of the loudest voices you know. Putting their very bodies on the line in front of pipelines and projects. That are going to damage the environment and public health. So I I would say that. A lot of the grassroots energy of the green new deal comes from first nations for example representative Alexandria. Cossio Cortez the politician who led the charge for green new deal here in the United States actually got started as a volunteer organizer. Supporting the move. Minute Standing Rock So I would say that. The indigenous movement both in the United States and Canada really has played a significant underlying role. That people haven't fully appreciated in producing the green new deal. I think the questions that first nations sovereignty and rights raise for the green new deal or not just the fact that communities are disproportionately harmed and polluted by the fossil fuel industry in particular and other extractive industries more generally but also you know what it might look like to in both the federal systems of Canada and the United States to incorporate first nations governments as equal partners in the federal system. That is that is pushing for action on climate change. What would it look like for first nations governments in in Canada and the United States to lead a transition to clean energy to create a lot of the jobs in their communities to be empowered as environmental stewards in protectors? And I think the examples that we should be looking to are things. Like the Guardian Watchmen program in the great bear rainforest. Other parts of Canada where first nations twenty thirty years ago stood up against logging and forestry and now today employ some of their own members as environmental stewards and protectors making sure that some of the most important carbon sinks in North America remain protected and can help us in the fight against climate change. So I think it's those kinds of things that we should be thinking about and then abroad or sort of intellectual and philosophical sense. I think that climate change really is an existential threat for humans and human societies around the world and of course you know first nations you know what it means to live. Through an apocalypse we lived through the apocalypse of of colonization. We lived through the apocalypse of our children being taken away to residential schools Canada and boarding schools in the United States and in a broader sense of human sort of confronting this enormous tragic upheaval to our societies. I think that you know indigenous people in Canada and and more generally actually have perspectives and experiences to lend to those set of

Sen. Richard Burr Faces Lawsuit Over Timing Of Stock Sale

"Water members of Congress going to do about stock trading by themselves. Revelations about Senator Richard. Burr raised this question. Our colleague Tim. Mack revealed that Senator Burr gave dire warnings about the pandemic to an exclusive group. A month ago that was a time when the president was downplaying the threat then propublica revealed that Burr also sold a lot of stock before the market crashed. Npr's Tim Mack still on this story. Tim Good Morning. Hey Good morning should lawmakers be trading in stocks at all well some lawmakers believe that they should be allowed to do that at all at lawmakers in the House of introduced what they call the band conflicted trading act. Now that's a bill. I championed by Jeff Merkley of Oregon in the Senate. It would prohibit lawmakers from trading individual stocks so along with Congressman Joanna Goose and Congresswoman Alexandria. Cossio Cortez Congressman Raja Krishna. More `they is one of the lead sponsors of the legislation. I think it's time that the public knows that their members of Congress are not profiteering. Off of you know information. They gained through their public service. It's not fair and it's not right. Democrats are the initial co-sponsors to the legislation but given the bipartisan outrage at Burr's actions they have some hope that Republicans will join them and to be clear this is telling lawmakers you can still have money. You can still try. A Mutual Fund Index Fund not individual stocks. Could PROFIT OFF OF INSIDE INFORMATION? Now this is not going to apply to Senator Booker if it becomes law. Because he's done what he's done but he's being sued isn't it? That's right Allan Allan Jacobsen of California was a shareholder in Wyndham hotels and resorts one of the stocks that bursts sold. And he's alleging that Senator Burr exploited information available to him as a senator for personal gain. Thomas O'Brien is lawyer representing Jacobson. And he said that they are trying to take the lead holding burr accountable. Back there. We're not waiting. For the Federal Government Regulatory Agencies. Were moving forward to remedy the wrong. With senator straight against are not I should note. I reset senator. Burs office for comment for the story but received no response Previously. He said that he relied only on public news stories to make his decision to dump stocks. He's also asked the Senate ethics committee to open an investigation into his own. Actions could face other scrutiny. Well the big question is whether the Justice Department and or the Securities and Exchange Commission will open up an investigation based on the facts. We already know in the public domain so to answer that I tried to ask around to people who had some experience in this manner. I spoke to Katie Goldstein. Who used to hold who used to lead these sorts of investigations in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York? When I first read the allegations the thought that crossed my mind was it seems likely to me that there will be a grand jury investigation of this conduct. The circumstances were such that. I thought it was likely that. Us Attorneys Office. Perhaps the southern district of New York would open an investigation. So that's her view and her estimation but to be clear there's no evidence to the actual investigation has started. I also reached out to the Justice Department and the SEC. And they had no comment so a couple of things going on people saying there. Oughta be a law and also maybe impressions about whether Burr broke an existing law. Tim thanks so

Biden, Sanders battle for the Latinx vote

"Let's get to our first topic. Which is going to be a two thousand twenty election update who would have thought that the election the United States would be like a secondary story but it kind of is even though it's also a huge story weekly because you know two weeks ago we couldn't be saying this. I certainly didn't imagine this right that Joe Biden would now be in the lead basically in terms of delegates that he won Michigan Idaho Mississippi and Missouri all went for Joe Biden right now sanders. One North Dakota and Washington is still too close to call. I mean this is truly Julio like an extraordinary unfolding of events I still say yes. It was the coalescing. Is it so much the love for Biden or was it simply at the choice has got reduced none? The less Democratic Party has got some challenges yet and if people are following the delegate count and again you know Biden as of this recording. He has eight hundred eighty one delegates Sanders has seven hundred twenty five. We're seeing the same pattern as we saw. Super Tuesday Biden is doing really well with older voters. Sanders is sweeping the youth. Vote Biden again doing really well in the south with black voters. Sanders getting the Latino. Vote and the main thing about all this money is that older. Democratic voters are just showing up and coming out more. It's very simple. Older voters are coming out younger. Voters are not and one of the things you know. It was a weird night to cover politics because it was the early news of the corona virus. Starting to happen. The big Tuesday election coverage became secondary very quickly. It was almost very subdued. What happened on Tuesday but what was interesting as I went on instagram. GotTa notification that Alexandria. Oh Cossio Cortez was going live on instagram. And I watched her basically address. What happened in these primaries? One of the things that we're seeing that there's a very strong generational divide and this is something that I've encountered something that I have noticed across many different issues. There's a generational divide in the Democratic Party on healthcare on climate change on foreign policy on pretty much every policy imaginable and as a younger person in this movement. I take a lot of that as information for how we navigate the next decade. So there's like the electoral perspective and there's the movement perspective and I think this is something that's really important that we talk about. Because electoral politics can be movement based but movements aren't necessarily electoral in nature. Either and the interplay in the relationship between these two things is something to pay attention to something. That's important so media you just heard. Afc She was in the thick Back in the day. What do you think about what you'll see? Said I think is coming out a winner in all of this because of her authenticity which is what people are dying to see in their politicians. And so I just think that she. She's keeping her feet on the ground. I think we understand. We've talked about it. That her power in the endorsement of Sanders was huge. A am very concerned about the the lack of turnout among young people. I I'm trying to understand. Is it just because they do want to do it? But then they like they actually never remembered to register or the day of the election. Just you know weren't in the right state or in the right time like what? What is that about? Because let dino's Latina's were turning out but it's like the younger vote just didn't carry it and I'm still fascinated by what you call the motivation of older voters to come out for Joe Biden. You know one of the things that is clear to me with all this because looking at Michigan which Sanders won over Hillary Clinton in two thousand sixteen a lot of those same voters chose Biden bright working class white non educated or even white suburban voters like college educated and Bernie's platform really hasn't changed since two thousand and sixteen so I think in twenty twenty. The big difference is that he wasn't up against the woman and so I feel like part of that. Michigan vote was Anti Hillary Clinton interesting. Yeah in two thousand sixteen over Pro Bernie and you know this whole notion of misogyny in electoral politics. I think once we get out of what we're in now. I feel like that has to be something that we need to continue to explore right. And you're convinced that all the male run American mainstream media is GONNA do thoughtful work. No but that's why I roll with you. We're GONNA do it here because I wanNA roll with you in some bad ass women and doing it in the thick down the road about all this because I feel like it is a big takeaway of this electoral seasonable. Listen what's going to happen next because I feel like this is where I think we can start looking at the pandemic and electoral politics but talking a little bit about that you know a lot of Biden supporters were urging Sanderson. Drop after you underperform on Tuesday and I think a lot of this has also with you know the pandemic th people are. Kinda like electoral politics. I got other things to worry about. There's a case to be said and on Friday Louisiana date of Louisiana became the first day to announce that it's postponing its primary until the summer that primary was scheduled to be on April fourth but at the same time sanders. Supporters are still reminding people that you know Biden is not even close to getting the delegates. He needs to get the nomination. They're still twenty nine more states that have yet to vote including Puerto Rico as a territory so there you go so on Wednesday Sanders Address. The press and he said that he would stay in the race. I cannot tell you how many people our campaign has spoken to. Who have said quote. I like what your campaign stands for. I agree with what your campaign stands for. But I'm GonNa vote for Joe Biden because I think Joe is the best candidate to defeat. Donald trump end of quote. We have heard that statement all over this country. Needless to say I strongly disagree without assertion but that is what millions of Democrats and independents today believe Donald Trump must be defeated. And I will do everything in my power to make that happen on Sunday night. In the first one on one debate of this campaign the American people will have the opportunity to see which candidate is best positioned to accomplish that goal so a couple of things. Sunday debate is going to be audience free. It was going to be in Phoenix Arizona and then it got moved to DC because of the corona virus crisis also known as Covy nineteen audience. Three no spin room. Cnn univision are hosting the debate. Here's the thing money. Yeah this is the part for me where I'm kind of like our people just going to lose interest in this race because of the crisis. There's so much that shifting beneath our feet right now yeah. I think that actually could spur people because you know the clear evidence of administration lying in the middle of public health crisis pandemic. I don't know though because I worry about people who are so far into the Donald trump sphere that they. I have heard in this past week. People who I know saying things like it's just a hoax. Wow Yes A. I'm sorry I don't know. Yeah so so. I don't

Facebook Revises Rules On Political Advertising

"Facebook announced what it will and will not change as the twenty twenty election arrives. The social media giant says it will let users choose to see fewer political Ads so how does that compare to what its critics wanted Washington Post policy reporter. Tony Romm is with us once again. Good Morning Good Morning. Thanks for coming by. Let's listen to mark Mark Zuckerberg of facebook in an exchange with Representative Alexandria Cossio. Cortez your last year. Let's listen so you won't take down lies or you will take online so I think it's pretty simple. Yes or no hungry woman in Montauk not spin I'm talking about actual yes to democracy. I believe that people should be able to see for themselves. What politicians that they may or may not vote for? You won't take out or for themselves. I read that to mean facebook generally is not going to be taking sitting down lies. That was then this is now. Is that still the policy. It is still the policy. FACEBOOK is not going to take down falsehoods with some limited exceptions. You can't for instance tell people the wrong election date even enrolling out some of these big changes yesterday trying to tighten the political advertising ecosystem ahead of the twenty twenty election sucker. Brook is sticking to this notion that facebook should not serve as the arbiter of truth. It shouldn't be the thing that gets in the way of what a politician is trying to say to the voters taking the position position. That even the politician lying something you might like to know about your politician that they lied but will this policy. Do right the pulse really does two things and I. It gives you more control over the political ads. You see you essentially say you know what. I'm tired of the two thousand twenty election. I WANNA turn off most of that stuff and starting this summer. You'll have an option to be able to do that. Are there multiple options. Can I just turn off the liberal ads or turn off the conservative ads the conspiracy theory ads or whatever category there might in a sense. You can there's going to be one button. Allegedly this is according to the from. Yesterday that has not been fully rolled out yet where you can limits as across the board and then there's a second tool that you can take advantage of that stops. Individual campaigns ends and businesses from targeting adds to you based on your email address or other personal information that they might have on you so I could say I don't WanNa hear anymore from Donald trump or I don't WanNa hear anymore from Elizabeth Warren or pick your person right this is. This is a sort of what facebook is saying here. Based on those ads that are targeted to you on the basis of your email address entirely clear. What is is a political ad because as you know very well? There's so many different kinds of advertisements on issues that aren't necessarily directly from about a candidate. The right facebook has defined this in the sense to include everything from mechanic a campaign and a series a list of issues that include things like immigration and abortion and so forth. And when we're talking about this concern turnaround lying around falsehoods. That mostly involves candidates here. That's a person like president trump and his campaign speaking voters. And we've seen what happens when and facebook's policy really comes to head this occurred last year president trump's campaign purchase a series of ads that included a number of falsehoods about Vice President Joe Biden as it related into the impeachment inquiry underway on Capitol Hill Right now and facebook saw that it received a number of criticisms asking to take it down facebook said no those ads would still. We'll be allowed under facebook's new policy although you can choose not to see them if you decide but wouldn't this just encourage candidates to let other people lie for them which they already do now which they certainly already do within the other concern here. Is that. It's so hard to use facebook in the first place. I mean think about it. How many of your friends or loved ones know how to find their privacy or advertising advertising settings this is the issue that's been raised by experts and lawmakers in recent days? We'll just really matter. We'll see it leaves people to police their own their own

"Twenty twenty league now former Vice President Joe Biden capping off a big week in the twenty twenty democratic race. Went after each other Biden is now touting a new endorsement from his old pal from the US Senate former senator and secretary of State John Kerry who campaign today in Iowa state that carry one and two thousand four. And that's where we financing ends Jessica Dean great at my friend with me. I can't think of anybody rather have two old friends together again. As former former secretary of State John Kerry joins former Vice President Joe Biden on the campaign trail. I am endorsing Joe Biden. Not Because I've known him so long but because I have known him so well. In addition to carry bolstering Biden's experience argument. The Biden campaign hopes to capture some of the former democratic nominees companies. Come from behind magic that led to his two thousand. Four victory in. The Iowa caucuses winter the I will caucus which kind of helps you all. Although I do that sounds pretty good to me. Kerry's presence is just one piece of the Biden campaigns more aggressive approach to Iowa the weather this week in the last seven days Biden his health sixteen events mostly in rural areas. I need your help. Thank you thank you. Thank you a competent Biden. Also taking taking him Bolton swipes at his rivals questioning voter enthusiasm for Senator Elizabeth Warren and telling reporters mayor p Buddha. Judge stole his healthcare plan. The Biden also engaging in a heated back and forth with an Iowa voter who says the former vice president was too old and accused him of sending his son to go work for a Ukrainian cranium. Gas Company meantime. His campaign launched a staving video targeting president trump thing the world is laughing at him him several world leaders mocking president trump. They're laughing at home. And even as Biden makes the case the Democratic Party isn't as far left as progressive aggressive New York congresswoman Alexandria. Cossio Cortez telling axios. She's a wonderful person. But where's the party at Super Pac supporting reporting Biden. Cut An ad for Iowa. Airwaves painting him as a longtime progressive lighting. His early supportive issues like same sex marriage right to marry who you choose the right to live free from the threat of violence in fear. These are basic fundamental universal human rights. Democrats Frustrated With Pelosi’s Unwillingness To Impeach Trump

"Democratic frustration with Speaker Nancy Pelosi's unwillingness to impeach president trump is reaching a fever pitch following reports that trump pressured Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son an increasingly singley vocal group of Pro Impeachment House Democrats are starting to dismiss their own oversight of trump as feckless accusing their colleagues of emboldening the president by refusing to stand up to what they see as lawless behavior at the very least these Democrats say the house should be taking more aggressive action to break the unprecedented White House stonewalling possibly defining or jailing defiant trump officials an idea Polisi dismissed earlier this year but which has increasing momentum inside the caucus congresswoman congresswoman Alexandria Cossio Cortez a longtime impeachment backer and a member of the squad tweeted this weekend at this point in her words. The bigger national scandal isn't the the president's lawbreaking behavior. It's the Democratic Party's refusal to impeach him for it. It's one thing for a sitting president to break the law. She tweeted but it's another to let him even house. Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff impeachment skeptic and a Pelosi ally suggested this weekend that the Rubicon may have been crossed he said impeachment I might now be inevitable and called reports of trump requesting that the Ukrainian leader investigate a business connected to Biden son quote the most profound violation of the presidential initial oath of office yet trump suggested Sunday that he did indeed mentioned Biden and his son hunter in a phone call with Ukrainian President Vladimir's Alinsky before releasing. US military aid trump has denied that it did anything wrong amid questions about whether he abused power to seek help from a foreign country for his reelection several people close to Pelosi told our Rachel Bait on Sunday that the speaker realizes trump's Ukraine request could force her hand. I'm told that she and shift were in touch throughout the weekend. Sinking sinking up strategies and talking points in a rare Sunday afternoon letter to all the members of the House the speaker called for the Director of National Intelligence to turn over the whistleblower complaint detailing trump's trump's interactions with Ukraine. Policy threatened an unspecified escalation in house action. If trump refuses though notably she stopped short of impeachment. White House lawyers have sought ways at every turn to block documents or witnesses from congressional investigators under the direction of the president who decries the various probes into him. I'm in his finances as unfair. He also Mocks House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler routinely the calculation White House officials. Tell my colleague Josh Dossey is that there will not be much of a price to pay for obstinance from the general public that the people who will be upset by this stonewalling will be on the Left Democrats they they say have been unable to move public sentiment in favor of impeaching trump to White House officials add that they're not worried about defying mocking Nadler because Pelosi's made it clear she's not interested in impeachment and the House Democratic Caucus split about what to do but in the two hundred thirty five member Democratic Caucus a majority of one hundred thirty eight have no publicly endorsed impeachment with policy unwilling to impeach trump democratic rank and file members are frantically looking for something to fortify their investigations on Friday afternoon mean judiciary members press Nadler to invoke Congress's long-dormant inherent contempt authority this would allow Congress to jail or fine people for defying subpoenas. Nadler Nadler supports this idea the power hasn't been used in a hundred years about Pelosi members of the leadership team some house lawyers were dismissive of the idea when investigators I floated in the spring but members of the committee are once again trying to force the issue and are planning to make the matter a big focus this week

The Role Of TV In Today's Politics

"Were joined by Brian Steinberg. He covers the business of advertising media and television variety. Hey Brian. How are you doing John. I'm I am well. Let's talk about the controversy over an ad that ran during last night's Democratic candidate debate. Tell us what that ad was about yeah. This is a spot showed New York Representative House Angie Occasional Cortez with becky burning on on camera. It's very dark and noticeable thing to do and probably not the norm. This is the face of socialism and ignorance does Alexandra Cossio Cortez. No the whore war socialism. My father was minutes from death in Cambodia before a forced marriage saved his life. That's socialism forced obedience chance starvation it was by somebody named Elizabeth hang and it was through a political action committee. What do we know about Elizabeth Tang and the Political Action Committee. Put The ad together we oh she's a Republican activist. I believe she's also a former congressional candidate who did not win when she did run so she did that and I think she she's a member this past. She's definitely a political operative some people are calling for a boycott of ABC the but it's unclear to me of the ad ran on the network or stations owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Do you know where it ran and who ran it. We're not quite clear that my guest and educated guess most political advertisers are quite I guess is probably medium small size probably could not afford a national ad buy on ABC in Primetime Mike the Strategy Policy would be to run the AD in certain markets that have the people they're trying unreach- most intently my educated guess would say they probably bought stations in certain markets where we're trying to make a point that could be big cities as well as small towns towns will definitely appears run in Washington. DC and a lot of people are now watching the ad online so it may not have been something that was approved by ABC but in rough terms what does it network have to say about what ads are and are not on its airwaves now works with these type of things typically typically. I think tried to not run ads that require them to give equal voice other parties and other what that means they would have to run commercials goals. Ad Infinitum for PLO things there are there are mistakes and they're having the passion they run certain commercials that are just so political that require an opposing viewpoint almost immediately or are. Are you know the claims verified immediately but they're supposed to kind of vet most commercials for clean competitive claims and that sort of thing and I would be suspicious. ABC Rams nationwide. I think it's important to note what the Sinclair Broadcast Group is because they are also not only an owner of almost two hundred rid stations across the country but they appear to have a political agenda and have been asking some of their news anchors to run political pieces that basically echo some talking points out of the trump White House so who's in Clare and why are they an important part of this story well sinclair is a massively large owner of stations they own stations that are of ABC and others they haven't known to set a conservative agenda in recent years to build their own newsgathering and news programming across the nation and they've also mandated in certain instances for their various local news programs to take up certain topics or broadcast certain editorials from people who were hired by Sinclair without always disclosing that the station ownership within the company ownership has certain political stances is there anything that people people could ask either sinclair or ABC to do in terms of response. Does the equal time idea still apply well when politicians get on they you know they're the network is typically. mandated to provide access to someone via posing as what they typically avoid. They're very strict about these these local commercials. I think you know this happened on. NBC RAN AN AD showing people swarming wall during the immigration controversy and it ran during football the ball one of the biggest shows on the schedule everyone saw and NBC actually came out with the same should not run was an error on our part that the ad ran so networks works are cognizant of these things and they usually wash more closely which is why we have to get the bomb whether they national random nationally ran station by station where the networks often are surprised to find out what some of the stations are putting on the air. It seems like a massive reached compare Alexandra Causo Cortes to Pol Pot or the Khmer Rouge but do the people who put this ad together have the freedom to suggest that even if it's not essentially factually true you're supposed to make verifiable verifiable claims now as for products politics can kind of range farther afield you see all kinds of claims and things and one reason that this is kind of flourishes in the majority. Giardi of political advertising takes place on the locals have local adds to your not national nationalists a far too expensive for most people to afford running on a regular basis and and be a not very targeted if you're if you're running for Senate in in Saint Louis. There's little reason to add New York City national candidate. Y- The president you can probably tell you the markets that are most up for

Dem Rep. Al Green: Impeach Trump For Racist Tweets

"Yesterday. An attempt was made to impeach trump congressman Al Green Democrat from Texas filed the resolution as a response wants to trump's boil boldly indeed racist suggestion for U._S.. Congresswoman go back Wednesday came a theme gleefully elaborated upon by chorus of hooting yokels at a trump rally in North Carolina last night now. I'm joined with more on this by U._S.. U._S. affairs analyst Jacob Para Kilos Jacob the thing that may not seem immediately apparent to the passing observer this is of course the Democrats do have a majority in the House of Representatives but the impeachment vote what was lost three hundred and thirty two to ninety five with one hundred and thirty seven hundred thirty seven Democrats voting against why well there's a significant strategic difference of opinion amongst the Democratic House caucus about how to proceed receive impeachment or indeed whether to proceed with impeachment at all this came up very very quickly in direct response to the president's racist tweets and follow up commentary about Ilhan Omar Alexandra Cossio Cortez and other Democratic representatives who are all not coincidentally women of color he basically I think <hes> representative green described this as a vote of conscience. I mean the the normal way to do. If there is such a thing because as you rightly point out impeachment it's very rare in American history but the normal way to do this the process that Nixon was in the middle of what he decided to resign would be to hold hearings to open an impeachment inquiry to sort of move this forward through a long and fairly arduous process rather than just snapping to an impeachment vote because of course the impeachment itself is not the removal from office.

This Economic Theory Could Be Used To Pay For The Green New Deal

"This message comes from N._P._R.. Sponsor get around with get around your idol car can actually earn you money. Just share it on the APP and Rinse it out when you're not using it visit get around dot com slash share now to start sharing get around. It's go time New York. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez wants a green new deal clean energy guaranteed jobs when she announced this everyone asked how are you gonNa pay for it. Here's what she told morning edition earlier this year I the first thing that we need to do is kind of break. The mistaken idea that taxes pay for one hundred percent of government expenditure. She says ambitious government programs can be financed through deficit spending and in saying that she has spotlighted in an obscure brand of economics known as Modern Monetary Theory N._p._R.'s Scott horsely has a beginner's guide modern monetary theory's been around for years but it's only recently stepped out of the shadows economist Stephanie Kelsen Stony Brook. Doc University says that's partly thanks to Cossio Cortes. The Social Media Darling embraced the theory while making an unapologetic case for costly new government programs there was something of an oprah effect wrench she did that. People immediately probably started readied googling modern monetary theory to find out what she was referring to run that Google search and you'll quickly find Kelton herself. The Economist who advised Bernie Sanders Twenty sixteen campaign is one of the best known evangelist for 'EM MT Kelton says paying for big government programs is the easy part. If Congress has the will she argues the Federal Reserve can effectively print the money if Congress authorizes a few billion dollars of additional spending or a few hundred billion dollars then the feds job is to make sure that those checks don't bounce a central element of empty is that governments that control their own currency like the United States don't have to worry about spending more than they collect in taxes. This they can always create more money but Kelton says that's not a blank check for unlimited government spending too often people get a whiff of mt they don't read the literature and they somehow arrive at the takeaway that M._t._a.. is about printing prosperity and of course when people hear printing money they go straight to Zimbabwe Weimar Germany those are notorious cases of runaway price hikes but Kelton says inflation is only Nia danger when demand outstripped the real capacity of the economy the people machines and raw materials last week under questioning from Cossio Cortez Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell acknowledged the U._S.. Job Market has shown more capacity. Did you grow without triggering inflation. He and his colleagues had expected still vows no fan of MT as he told the Senate hearing back in February the idea that deficits don't matter for countries that can borrow in their own currency. I think is just wrong. We're. We're going to have to either spend less or raise more revenue taxes story and Bruce Bartlett also blast. 'EM MT as little more than a fig leaf giving license for big spending in the same way art laugher gave Republicans covered a cut taxes with the dubious claim. They'd pay for themselves. M. T. is sort of laugh recur for the Left. Some of them tease biggest supporters however are not liberal politicians but bond traders but firms like Pimco and Goldman Sachs James Montier. WHO's with the investment firm G._M._O.? Says he turned him Mt. After more conventional economics. Let him astray in the nineteen nineties. Monty and many others were convinced. Japan's rising government debt would drive up borrowing costs. It didn't across both Mike Lines or anyone who stupid enough to follow me money. It was one of the worst trait positions I've ever suggested in my entire life. Monte says M. T. offers better financial forecast and helped him understand why interest rates in the U._S. asks have stayed low. Despite growing government deficits persistently low interest rates have also prompted some mainstream economists like Larry Summers and Jason Ferment to rethink their attitudes and be less concerned about federal deficits but they haven't.

Joaquin Castro said he ignored requests to relinquish his phone to record video of detained migrants at border facility

"Pediatrics released these pictures today drawings made by ten and eleven year old children in macallan recently released from customs and border protection custody depicting themselves behind bars and in cages we have almost no video oh what if like in these detention camps except for this which were shocked by texas democratic congressman joaquin castro who smuggled some sort of recording vice into a facility bility on monday as part of congressional delegation even though border patrol confiscated members phones schmidt castro joins me now why did you think it was important to defy their worst confiscate your phones to get a footage from inside because the country has to see what's being done in their name and also because i don't believe that the executive branch has authority to tell the legislative branch with oversight power over these federal federal agencies that we can't document what's going on inside side and we asked the border patrol chief and as an attorney that was their very specifically the site the law they were relying on to keep us from documenting what what's going on and they couldn't find a single law so at that point chris consider their request a courtesy and there's too much at stake for me to abide by courtesy at this point the funny show their shows women who have appear you know they're not they're obviously not young young children and their their their adult women 'em on the floor there in that sell it looks like a jail cell what's striking to me is what you guys saw they knew you were coming this is not a spot visit is that correct that's right but they didn't think we would get into that sell the reason that we got ended outsell is because alexandro cossio cortez insisted that she be able to talk to those women and basically you know you know push away in there and so when we got in there the women started telling us their stories some of them fifty days there in detention some separated from their kids some said they've not been given their medications the sink was not working there is no running water so when these women use the restroom there is no way for them to wash their hands so what we saw in that cell it's consistent with what the pediatricians have said about other facilities i also want next door and visited people at another facility there is a woman who is in the early stages of pregnancy an in that facility there is a sink was working there were paper cubs were being reused by the people in that sell a so these conditions are deplorable a human rights are being neglected and the president had this to say if illegal immigrants are unhappy with the conditions in the quickly built around fitted detention centers just tell them not to come all problem solve what do you think of that well a first these are mostly asylumseekers they have the legal right to petition for asylum in the united states just as anybody across the world has the right to do that in any nation and also it shows you that what we already know that the presidency's migrants as subhuman he dehumanizes them for political purposes and politically gain and there is reporting other supporting republican recover earlier in the week about a a facebook group with thousands of members in cbp that posted offensive racist sexist derogatory means i'm really some disturbing stuff on were reporting tonight from politico that actually dhs officials were alerted to this some admitted apparently anonymously the they had been monitoring it per quote intelligence and that this would do it was notified to see bp as far back as twenty sixteen which is under the obama administration administration what does that say to you about the culture of cb p c b p is broken and they have it culture problem at this point the bad has overtaken the good and there are good agents who were trying to do their best to take care of the people in their custody but they're overwhelmed by the system and they're also under cut by the kinds of agents who were making those violent vulgar comments and right now there is no system in place within cbp that can really hold agents accountable when they do wrong and that's what we're seeing is it these people continue

"Twenty five till the top of the hour. We have a lot more news to get into as it relates to what's happening in Virginia. The double standard of Democrats as it relates to their Lieutenant governor facing serious sexual assault charges. Now, they got the attorney general third in line to replace the current governor. He's got a problem with black face. As does apparently a lot of people in Hollywood like oh, joyless Bihar. Ted Danson, Jimmy Kimmel Jimmy Fallon and others will get to that. So what she has here. Cossio Cortez Marquis. And this new green deal for America. Now, even Nancy Pelosi is rejecting this. And as I said before Nancy Pelosi is scared to death of a Cossio Cortez. Now. Why is she scared to death of a Cossio Cortes and the radical as radically? She is and she's radical you think about it. This. At least some sense of what the American people whatever tolerate here or what? You know, what the what the American people know what works. Let me just quick family story all four my grandparents come from Ireland took that ancestry testing the one hundred percent British Isles. And there was support. They were surprised because that usually doesn't happen. And but I knew all for my grandparents, I have the papers from Ellis Island. They came in when they came in legally etcetera, but they came here. They had no money. Ten bucks? Maybe be one at fifteen. And they lived a very poor life in the some of the worst conditions Irish Catholic not need not apply. Was there's a lot of prejudice against Catholics at the time in Boston and New York, but they somehow overcame they lived in very very very poor conditions. My poor dad grew up very poor in bed. Stuy his mom died. A couple of months complications from giving birth to him. His dad. My grandfather just was working all the time. So he had different people taking care of him at all different times. But no money. My mother growing up in the South Bronx in New York. My my my maternal grandfather worked his ass off. And like every you all have the same story. This is not unique in any way. This is the American into Central American dream. They weren't guaranteed any of the things that a Cossio Cortes and democratic radical extreme socialist party are now promising and you've got to ask yourself. It's always appealing to take away all of your insecurities and fear in life. But when does it ever when do these promises ever get fulfilled? They don't that's the problem. You're going to get all the platitudes all the talking points, all the bumper stickers. And you're never going to get the results because it's not sustainable just like Kamala Harris when she talks about eliminating all private health. Care insurance Medicare for all, okay? One hundred and seventy seven million Americans wiped out of their own insurance. Obamacare is the most recent example of a government their promises versus what they said his talking points as platitudes is bumper sticker. Keep your doctor. Keep your plan. Save less. None of those promises were fulfilled. It has become an unmitigated disaster. John roberts. Thank you very much for that one. And it is. But that is the history the promise of socialism, it takes away all of your fear all of your insecurities and life, and you're guaranteed a job. You're guaranteed family medical leave your guaranteed vacation. You're guaranteed retirement. You're guaranteed safe affordable housing. You're guaranteed healthcare. You're guaranteed education way beyond high school, or if you want to trade school or college that's. And all of this is guaranteed for everybody used either willing or unwilling to work. Oh, what happens to freedom in this equation? Where is the incentive? If if as the Democrats are proposing if they're gonna steal seventy percent of your income. Why bother who's gonna bother the risk? The reward the blood, the sweat, the tears that goes along with building a business providing goods and services that people want need and desire. You know, it was a big deal that my father post World War Two. He signed up served four years in the Pacific. And when he could buy a thirteen thousand dollar Cape Cod house on a fifty by one hundred lot which I grew up in all of my life. You know with one bathroom and three older sisters kinda describe it as hell on earth. I'm kidding. Of course. But you know, that was a big deal. And the hope was that his children, and we all stand on the shoulders of our parents and grandparents and the sacrifices they made for us, the look and a housing projects I had to remember when I was in Atlanta tech with homes the first housing project ever built pepper mill another home. I went to a housing project. I was covering a story when I was down reporting on it in Atlanta's a talk show host. And I went down there. Horrible story. Young girl died because a cockroach lodged in her head. And I went there, and I went into one of the units. The place was infested with roaches. It was disgusting beyond imagination. There's your government that was government subsidized government supported housing young girl died. And I look at it, and I've been to many poor poor poor places in my life. And in America, even the poorest TV's, usually big screens computers phones food in the refrigerator refrigerator, freezer. You look at some of these socialist countries, they don't even have that. You know, I I was lucky when I had no money I could buy a two hundred dollar former providence gas company van that once ran on natural gas. They converted it back to gasoline cost me two hundred bucks. Best best investment I ever made. That thing ran best barely had to fix the thing. Three hundred fifty dollar Ford. Maverick nineteen seventy-one talk the guy down from four hundred spent a lotta time fixing that used to fix it myself worked with a bunch of guys have rented a bar barn that was empty from my landlord made a bunch of guys we'd go in there. Fix cars paint cars. I wasn't good at it. But they would always help me. Do the brakes? Tune-ups did all that stuff. My point is okay. I still had a TV refrigerator. Freezer and a stove and air conditioning and heat. It was an adequate apartment lived in that for into my thirties for crying out loud. Nothing. Great nothing ostentatious. Some believable. Don't worry had to pay for it thought about power. We're gonna pay for it. It will destroy it this plan by this new radical extreme Democratic Party will destroy the American dream Kamala Harris is Medicare for all eliminate private insurance will destroy healthcare the energy energy industry, which is the hope for the greatest prosperity growth. We've ever had will be destroyed when the government takes that over. Just warning you this is your this is the party, by the way. Ahmed every y'all says a Cossio Cortez, wiping tears bowing to de-fund is great. Both the to say that an agency is which repeatedly, and systematically, violates human rights does not deserve a time. They do not deserve a time until they can prove that they are honoring human rights until they can make a good faith effort to expand and embrace immigrants. They do not deserve any resources for their radical agenda. We this is a I don't have.

"Com. Twenty five till the top of the hour. We have a lot more news to get into as it relates to what's happening in Virginia. "In. But let's remember, it's only one speech. And the question is how far one speech can go toward the stated goal of his address which is to bind the wounds of our very divided country wounds that many say he helped to create. So as much as I'll be paying attention to what he says, I'll also be paying even more attention to what he does in the days ahead, whether his deeds will match his words, whether his tweets will provoker night. And in fact, whether the Democrats view this as sincere outreach or dismiss it as little more than rhetoric designed to reach the independent, independent voters. He needs twenty twenty the president has taken the dance, and he has presented copies of his speech to house speaker Nancy Pelosi and vice President Mike Pence will be sitting behind him. This time around political rival also dressed in white would be sitting right behind the president. It'll be interesting to watch for reactions during the speech tonight is the president gets ready right now, the president basking in the glow of the applause from the room. There's a solid applause coming from the Republican side of the aisle. There's a bit of applause coming from the left, but Steve Dorsey UCF better than I do most of the Democrats at ICI their hands at their sides. Absolutely. "So a Cossio Cortez. The headline became ocasio Cortez gives zero bleeps about fellow Democrats right in some version of that was written dozens of times by a bunch of just plain old regular news outlets, including a bunch that want to suck up to her. Well. Zero credit has been tweeted it out using the hill as the example. And she said, I actually didn't say this. So while I know Brown women, cursing, drives clicks, maybe you accurately, quote, the whole exchange instead of manipulating people into thinking. I said this sentence instead of just the word zero what? Kobe literally asked you how many bleeps you Gavin. You said zero with the headlines are true Akhazia Cortes said. Well, that wasn't specifically my quote, and the only reason you're doing this is because I'm Brown. People. And this is the kind of thing though to her supporters. They eat this up. They do this is when you start throwing down. Yes. Queens. Yeah. They wanted they want. They want their version of Donald Trump. That's what they want. And they may get it in her listen to this new axios survey monkey poll, they asked Democrats and people who lean democrat if they would consider voting for her. She were old enough to run for president seventy four percent of them said they would seventy four percent. So well, we sit here and yuck. It up at her. Seventy four percent of Democrats in those Helene Democrats said they would consider voting for her. If we're not if people aren't careful if democrat Republicans aren't careful they're gonna find themselves in the same position Democrats found themselves in two thousand six there's a lesson in all of this which is that when there are people who support somebody like an Alexandria Cossio Cortez. You really should see whether or not it's it's it's it's it's more than skin deep. If there's something about her that calls to them if there's some problem in their life. They're actually seeking to address because that's what America is rife with some real problems that need to be fixed. It's the whole reason Trump got elected in the first place and the question comes down to a number of people crossing over from Bernie to Trump. How does that happen? How does it happen that you have Bernie supporters to say, you know, what? Now that Bernie's out on voting for Trump. How does that happen? What happens when you have a country where suicide rates are going up among men. The opioid crisis continues people feel like that there's treading water wages are stagnant. Since the seventies. You see that there is that the elites are getting by. In a much more successful way than they ever. Have that cronyism reigned supreme the corruption? Reigns. Supreme I mean, eventually Americans are going to say we need a change we need to fix this. So what change do they go for is it Trump or is it a Cossio Cortez? You need to be if you're if you support either of those people you need to be front and center making the case in an open minded way. Why your way is better? Rather than just condemning people to damnation because you disagree with them right now, politically, you could address their problems. Now, she will obviously will not be running against President Trump's short. I don't think she's she'll be old enough yet. She's thirty five twenty nine. So she won't be able to run against President Trump, maybe in his fourth term. But. But she could take on a quote unquote, traditional Republican and win not too far down the road. And I think people need to we laugh at her, but you might want to pay attention to a lot to watch though with her. We got some time the constitution's got some roles on this thing. As of now, five fifty one, here's Rushbo. Left.

"One zero three five FM. Alexandria, Cossio Cortez. This was. This was yesterday at a Martin Luther King forum in in New York City, where she was making these comments and also being interviewed here, we have it in just a moment this to Nishi coats, and we'll play you some more audio and we'll get to your phone call. I here just a second. What I love about this. And that we just played this is this is genuine, right? So this is this is Alex Andrea Cossio Cortez in front of a crowd, and this is her being genuine and just putting it out there. It tells you how limited she is in her knowledge of what it is. She's she's talking about. I mean, it really it for a in my opinion tells you everything you need to know about her. She just doesn't she just doesn't it doesn't have affirm affirm grasp right? She's basically absorbed a lot of this a lot of these different ideas. And and and and thoughts about what Democrats should be and socialism. And there's a great moment in the in the. The movie forgetting, Sarah Marshall, Russell brand the comedian is in that movie and Kirsten bells is his girlfriend is a point when they get into a fight and he's got a bunch of tattoos on his body. And she starts mocking him going all these debt Jews these religious tattoos. These are all conflicting ideologies. It doesn't mean that you're this global person. It just means that you're full of blank. You know? That's what she is. She's just she's this progressive, right, regurgitate, or of ideas and understand it. That's exactly what I was gonna say the ability to regurgitate talking points and narratives that you've heard from other people doesn't make you smart, right? It doesn't make you a leader. You don't understand these issues that you're talking about? That's what makes you smart is the ability to hear these things process them research them understand them and reach rational conclusions. She is completely irrational. She has heard the worst case scenario of every possible situation. And she feels this great need now that she has been elevated to this platform of being one of four hundred and thirty five representatives in the house of representatives. It's just one voice out of many. But she's been elevated by the daily shows by the coal bears by progressive leadership. She's been put on this pedestal. And now, she's. Feels like she has to be the champion of the earth. Right. She doesn't know what she's talking. She has no idea what she's talking about. I'm sorry. Like, she doesn't know what she's talking about regurgitating gibberish. She's a walking word cloud. Patty in forest lake. Good morning. Good morning gentleman. I have a comment, and I have a point to make my comment is she's from New York, and especially from queens. I've spent a lot of time there. What do you expect from these folks out there? Crazier than a lunatic, and she got into congress. Gary a handful of people. My point is this. John and Andrew, yes. Back in the eighties. We were laughing at such things as this and never thought that.

"Cossio Cortez's is was planted. And and for this position that she's in now and that she's not the only one because of her background with it. As degrees like she has going back to waitressing and bartending was just to be one of the people. So she could relate. I've she's charismatic. She has the attraction. Draws people to her, but she had to be one of them in order to get the vote in order to sell it. And look I mean, she she grew up. Very comfortable. I guess your parents were your basic middle class, folks. But she sold herself all during the campaign is just, you know, a working gallon works as bartender yada, yada. It's ludicrous is JFK selling himself in the fashion. You had money your parents have money. You didn't do without? You didn't go to community college. You went to school very expensive school. Fortunately, I don't think she actually learned anything in here, econ classes, I think what she learned was under the tutelage had Kennedy when she works in his office. Yeah. Yeah. And that is that philosophy. And of course, the other thing that's inherent in that is we're gonna take a lot more money from everybody else except me. I mean, that's the Kennedy way is we're going to we're going to set up our tax rates that affect everybody except me. This is the same as they have when they say, we think that it's a really good idea to have windmills on the ocean except anywhere near me. And that's that is the Kennedy way, thanks for your call. Sharon, sure fishing. On four one zero WCBS six eighty two seven and Mike Mike it's Bruce elite show. Thank you so much for hanging on and thanks for calling. Hey, thanks for taking the call. Bruce warning. Warning. I was listening to what you're saying about marginal rates, and I I don't have a problem with higher rates for. Some sectors of the economy specifically Wall Street, they tended benefit when things don't go. Well, when they do go. Well, they make out go back to what happened during the bailout. Everybody has bad feelings about you know, how that went down AIG Bear, Stearns Lehman all those guys got money. Meet the tax payers. Socialize Wall Street, and then you can make the case that like businesses like that steel where you know, the pension system broke down more paying for that. That broken patients system. Executives got paid millions of dollars over the years. There was no quarterback for that. So at what point do you say a hedge fund manager who's making? Billion dollars a year. And literally there are henchmen hedge fund managers in an annual basis that are making billion billion five hundred million dollars a year. And they're paying a marginal rate only twenty four percent. All right. So so why is that your seems to me that you're okay with them writing the rules in writing the tax code, okay? No, no, no. I'm not for me. It's very straightforward. Everybody has skin in the game. That's rule. Number one rule. Number two is everybody pays the same tax rate? That's it you feel your taxes out and run a minute and a half. And there are a number of versions of this around there. And that means they would never let you get away with that. Who is then I'm talking about the guys who right off Gulfstream jets wants to write off Chris meals every day before they even pay a dollar attacks. Hold on just so, you know, there are limits that are built into the tax code is whether or not they can write off a roof Christmas. Meal, and there are specific qualifications on their on their Gulfstream. I would do away with all of that stuff. I would make it real simple. Mike and Severn makes sixty thousand dollars a year. We have a flat tax rate of pick a number fourteen point three percent, ultra calculator. Multiply sixty thousand dollars a year times point one four three. That's how much you owe. We're done here every every person should be treated equally under the law. And when you say, you're okay with some people being treated equally and some others not being treated equally. I don't want the government making the decision as to who's income. They approve of and whose income they don't approve of. I don't want to give him that power. I don't think we are. We all are being treated equally right now. If you look at how marginal tax rates were it has nothing to do with the individual with income. So if I make learning fifteen thousand dollars a year and hedge fund manager makes a team thousand dollars a year. The same rate on I fifteen thousand which argument is that this should not be changing the income rates as you go up. Mike. It's it's I simple you believe in what they call a progressive tax rate. I don't we just disagree on this. And that's fine. I just ask you to be open to the logic is hard to argue net- net-, if you take a look at the total tax Bill that those two individuals by paying in essence different tax rates that there be treated equally under the law. They're not I think. Theory. It sounds extremely fair at easy, and I like the idea of index card. But you, and I both know if you try to mess with those new poll your thing is going to blow up in your face. No. I don't know that hold on. You're making a sumptuous in evidence here. No, I don't know that. And I think that this president has done his best on moving toward a much flatter tax rate. I think that we have to keep going in that direction. Mark, listen, Mike. Thanks for your call. I gotta take some more. Right. Appreciate it for one zero WCBS eighty two Tim in port deposit. Ten. Good morning. Brother, just hanging on. How you doing? I have a question for you. I have an answer for you. There you go where the answer I we have a homeland security. Director correct. Yes. Kissed him. Nielsen. Okay. Now, she gets X amount of dollars a year. And her job is to secure borders. Correct. Young was. Congress even even. Because this person that President Trump put in office. S's secure.

"Alexandria, Cossio Cortez, isn't she a peach? I mean. Make it on sixteen thousand a month. Yup. I want you to know I live on twelve thousand. Isn't that? And here's the thing. Kathy. Kathy in her defense. I'm not going to defend her. But this is where at age twenty nine as somebody just elected to congress. I would expect her to have some problem solving skills. I understand that during her campaign for office. She probably almost certainly quit doing the job that she had been working at to make Olympic which is being a bartender. So she wasn't working for six or eight months chances are she doesn't have a whole big pile of money sitting in the Bank right now. And that if you go to rent because if I don't recognize these realities, you're going to get people who are going to say, well, but you don't understand this. This young lady has worked in months. She doesn't have a giant Bank account if she goes to Washington DC and says I want to rent this one bedroom apartment average rent their two thousand dollars a month, we need first and last and a deposit. So you're gonna have to write us a check for five or six thousand dollars just to move in. And she's saying she can't figure out how to do it even though her she will be sworn in on the third of. January and on the first paycheck, which I assume is going to come on the fifteenth of the month. She's going to get a check for half of her monthly salary, which is about fifteen or sixteen thousand dollars should got eight grand minus taxes, she'll probably get a five thousand dollar check. So is it possible to solve that problem? If you're smart enough to run for office, if you're smart enough to win a seat in the United States Congress. Should you be smart enough to be able to figure out a work around to say, I'm going to make fifteen thousand dollars grows probably closer to you know, nine or ten thousand dollars a month net after taxes can I figure out how to rent a two thousand dollar apartment and get the kind of money up front to be able to rent that apartment because I know the money is coming in. If she lacks those problem solving skills. Alexandria Cossio Cortes has no business being in the US congress. You know, we all know that sleep is important. It is to me consider somebody,.

"News ninety six point five WDBO. Now, the Brian Kilmeade show, a news ninety six point five WDBO body, as you know, we're going to be going on FBI and the number one network in business news in the country. And this is the number one show. There is some news. You're going to be talking about number one. We just got this. That Muller indictments according to CBS expected as early as today. So we'll see where that goes Robert Corsi says it's him. We heard it's other people stone. Roger stone says no, no, I'm going to get into some say, Don, jR, could get indicted. I think I really listen I was all ears in the beginning. But the more I read the more. I looked more. I talked to George Papadopoulos and everything else. The more. I'm not buying it. So let's listen in the top of the ala specifically Alexander Cossio Cortez going after Amazon, she doesn't like the fact that they got that. Amazon got big tax breaks to move their headquarters to New York City at least one of the two new headquarters. So don't like it. I live on the radio. Brian Kilmeade, host of the Brian Kilmeade show with me. Now, there's no pleasing some people. I just don't understand how you can reject twenty five thousand new jobs, very close to your area. Stewardess Long Island city. It's one of the fastest growing places fake of Manhattan for those people watching around the country and around the world think of Manhattan and look on the outskirts where you got Brooklyn air will announce city is one of the hottest place in the country to live. Now, if you bring Amazon in there, the money that comes in that surrounded the people that get employed and live there it fans out through queens through her area is going to be nothing but a magnet, which he doesn't understand what you must be an embarrassment to her college. I believe is Boston College Boston University is she has an economics degree. She doesn't understand the ripple effect. When you bring a and the reasoning behind you bring companies in with tax breaks, you competing with fifty states encounter cities to bring an Amazon distribution hubs somewhere, you one she should be high fiving not condemning it was Boston University, by the way. Degree in international economics. I what she got it from. But the socialists are not interested in economic growth. They're not they think that the cake all stays the same size. You just gotta re slice it. So the workers. People on low incomes, getting more of the cake. That's the way they see it. I'm astonished at this just newly elected I will now hold these views in comas does does. She intend to go to New York City and say forget it. We don't want Amazon. Yeah. Go away. She's horrified that Amazon above multibillion dollar company one of the biggest in the world is gonna get tax break. She doesn't understand that this company when you have a lot of power that gives you makes you very attractive to other cities to bring you there because if Amazon chooses Long Island city, there are a lot of merging companies go, you know, what I'm going to be part of that tornado of activity economic activity. Sometimes you have to sometimes you have to invest and attract in order to grow. And to me, she is such an embarrassment to the seventy thousand people that voted for and to everyone in queens that I think it's about time. She crack a book open or get some night courses. Or maybe there's even some online courses that she could take because between waiting for her nor Gration as a congresswoman which is. Is not going to happen between saying we have enough missiles in our defense department of defense department. She tells the daily show is say we have enough missiles, we don't need anymore. I mean when is this going to stop and competent is going to take over driven? Brian is probably not gonna stop Brian Kilmeade. Right. That we appreciate it. And we'll see again soon. Brian. You got one eight six six four zero eight seven six six nine. Let's go out to her W NASA in Yorktown Virginia. How you doing good? What's on your mind? Real quick. Thoughts of one of the most intelligent. Maybe a Brian Kilmeade. Thank you. Listen, you welcome. Attorney general Whitaker rings. And says what I don't want to wind this down. I want to expand this investigation. Stein campaigns twenty sixteen about that perception what that would do. I think that would be Justice and what it would do is throw everybody off. And now mother says wait a second. I'm going to need the year for that. So I'm not sure we want that. But that if Muller was doing things that really wanted to find unwind what happened in two thousand sixteen that would have been part of the agenda the scope memo that we have not seen the scope of the investigation, which we don't know now today because he waited out the election, and it's almost done now except for a few house races Senate and governor's couple of Guzman governors races. 'cause Arezzo now has a verdict. Now, we understand there could be other indictments handed down you keep in mind almost everything was handed out has really nothing to do with the election. It's all caught in perjury traps for things done prior to getting in touch with Donald Trump. So he Jerome Corsi, evidently what he might have done with Julian Assange and contacted. I wanna tell you tell me one person that said I saw Facebook ad. So let's make Donald Trump president tell me one person did looked at down that thinks. About two thousand sixteen and still wants to unwind. What Russia did we already have an investigation. Now, we have after Muller comes out. Now, we have Adam shifts say we're going to start looking into this thing is never ending, but people are already fed up with it. But this would deny Adam Schiff the report for two years, you know, whenever you investigate Clinton. It's gonna take two or three years because there's so much material. They're so we Adam Schiff rollers report. Yeah. Unless it just basically brings up things that don't really have anything to do it. Donald trump. Her could blow up in their face and go back to a tray gouty said he saw more information than just about anybody outside the Muller probe and CNN is going to be very disappointed. Eric WDBO, Orlando hair. Abra as you know, I live in Florida, and it's embarrassing to our state. But but everybody's talking about is we've been listening to the Democrats complain about foreign interference Patil years. And now they wanna let noncitizens foreigners. Bo what the heck is going on. And I think Trump should release Barry, Barry, satori, rose papers. And but a man behind the curtain, really good. It does. I'm not sure what are you referring to Barry Sotero? I mean, Barack Obama all his papers have been sealed the president should them. Let everybody know what's been hit from us Searle on time. All right. Thanks, eric. We come back. We're going to be joined by Hampton sides. He's author of the desperate ground. When you talk about Veterans Day in great battles in America's past what about our recent past? And that's the battle for the Korean war and in North Korea, which is now in the eye of the storm Hampton sides wrote a brilliant book recounting that that battle which just shows greater heroism for the marine sedan down. So keep it here. Go to Brian Kilmeade dot com. Find out what we're all be with Andrew Jackson miracle of New Orleans. This is the Brian Kilmeade show. Now. Now, the three big things. Three three we've been following traffic on I four westbound through the downtown area. Six in the morning things are still blocked up there. But our Ed Torrence in traffic tells us things could be opening up really soon. The death toll in the northern California wildfire goes up we're now at a point where we're going to bring in human remains detector dogs, forty two people now confirmed dead federal judge turning down. Rick Scott's demand that law officers. Take charge of voting machines in Broward County will update you at eleven. Democrats will win enough seats to gain control of the house of representatives going to investigate everything the president has made care by executive order..

"Alexandria, Calcio Cortez. The socialist Bolshevik from West Chester county. The new hero of the democrat party and the media, but I repeat myself. Believes that it's time to erase the electoral college, should she's using the old noodle there. Because it's racist. The electoral college is racists, don't, you know, she our fathers and our tax. You grew up in Westchester county. She pretended to grow up in the Bronx. She hates Jews. There's a new story in the New York Times today about how the Democrats are lining up to oppose Israel because they're an extremely virulently anti Israel party. Barack Obama was Hillary Clinton is and the party is extremely anti Israel and just call him genocidal, racists because so. It's a little different with with them. They're allowed to be racist. And it's it's okay. But Alexandria, Cossio Cortez who talks about Palestine. And she that known anything about it. She revealed how profoundly ignorant she is. And how she is as as a democrat. They they're sort of always stuck on campus. I thank him. And they believe everything they're told I guess at least the last thing that they're told. He also thought that the unemployment rate was low because everybody had two jobs that she's a real genius this one. She's a smarty. Kind of cute, though, Alexandria, Casio Cortez. We must eliminate the electoral college. The Washington Times writes today, Jessica Chaz, mar Alexandria, Cossio Cortez democratic socialists, hoping to represent New York's fourteenth congressional district declared over the weekend that the electoral college is a racist. American relic that must be abolished. Everything's racist. And they're the party of the confederacy of Jim crow, the clan interning, the Japanese of Planned Parenthood, and they love calling everybody racist. They're the party of banning black people the Woolworth's lunch counter. The party of bull Connor of Orval Faubus standing in schoolhouse doors, pretty much every racial stain. This country has a democrat. But don't bother looking it up because the Democrats don't want you to. She said it is well past time, we eliminate the electoral college, a shadow of slavery's power on America today that undermines our. Nation as a Democratic Republic. That's what she said. Twenty eight year old Boston University graduate. She tweeted this. She has more than eight hundred eighty thousand Twitter followers, all of them dumber than the next one that they're just simple. Visit Cortez was commenting on a tweet by g q magazine's Julia. I off who complained that the electoral college has helped conservatives get elected that said anything that that gladly dismantle the constitution for one more seat in the house of representatives permanent damage. No problem. They're fine. With that. Julia off said we're a country where two presidents who both lost the popular vote. Have now placed four justices on the supreme court, democracy and action. Well, we have a Republic here. And I don't know if you're familiar with our system of government, Julie or or Alexandra, but maybe you guys should. Do a little learn and maybe a little book. Learn and we'd go maybe civics one. Oh, one fifth grade civics would probably do. And then you could catch up to the country that you've lived in all of your miserable lives, and then you'd have some idea what was going on. And not be completely clueless house with a friend yesterday. We had brunch yesterday with several friends not a conservative among them. And I'm happy to say that it was very nice civil civilized brunch. And went on for three hours, and we talked about all kinds of things and Brett Kavanagh's named never came up and Donald Trump's name. I think never came up never came up. Certainly Brett Kavanagh's ner ner three hours with two liberals had an in-between yesterday. And it was kind of a, you know, I wasn't uneasy truce or anything, but we just didn't talk about politics, and it was nice people that have been friends with for twenty some odd years and in two out of the three cases. And and the and the third person of Brazilian a Brazilian national Brazilian citizen Brazilian passport holder who is now here in for a long time been in the United States yesterday was election day in Brazil. And here's a fun fact to know until that the news media doesn't talk. About first of all the big right winger there who's like the Donald Trump of Brazil did so well yesterday and the elections that that the fake media here is shocked by all of this. But my my friend with whom we had brunch. Yesterday, informed us, and I think I knew at one point voting in Brazil is mandatory. It's not voluntary. It's mandatory to vote. There is a penalty. If you do not vote in Brazil, and they set up polling places that Brazilian embassies around the world. Here in Washington. There's a big Brazilian population. So they set up a polling place. I think it was at the capitol Hilton on sixteenth street near the White House and Brazilians came down with Brazilian soccer jerseys and Brazilian flags and cheering and having a great time, and, you know, patriotic event going in voting, and and the the the socialists, mostly lefties in Brazil over the last who knows how many years and they've run the place into the ground corruption, former leaders in jail Lula and all of this stuff and the crime is out of control the corruption is how to control the economy's out of control. So there they may be voting in this very Donald Trump like character, one of the people at the table said yesterday of the of the conservative type running in Brazil. Oh, yeah. He's the anti gay anti LGBT, anti immigration, anti anti this. And and always Trump like that might be the one time that Trump's name came up, but my Brazilian friend voted for him. But it for that voted for that person. So that's kind of fun. Also, did you see I sent you? I think I sent you the the pumpkin with Dr Christine Ford's face carved into it that I not send you that. We're gonna I'm gonna get this. I've got this Christine Ford, carved, pumpkin, and we will post that too. We'll post that one as well. All right. Let's go to because it's fun. Yeah. They wanna get rid of the electoral college. And I love this. They just we will the popular vote, but we didn't win the presidency. We need to get rid of the electoral college. It's it's you know, the old saying, it's a black thing. You wouldn't understand? I had a counter to that. I still have a counter to that. It's a white thing. I have a high level of confidence that with a brief explanation. You'll understand fully say and what I explained the electoral college functioned the importance of the electro college balancing power for the little guy in the United States, which is what the electoral college does. It takes power out of the hands of the powerful and puts it in the hands of the less powerful, it shifts power to the little guy. That's what the electoral college does in short. And and that's one of the many reasons that the electoral college is so important without the electoral college, the Democrats could forget about all the people the deplorables, you know, the working people of America about the Democrats hate so much that they referred to as irredeemable like Hillary Clinton does and deplorable the people in flyover country. That's that's the the Democrats just. Flush the toilet in their Gulfstream jets over flyover country, hoping they'll hit someone and and their contempt for the working class who they pretend to care so much about care. So deeply about has become quite clear evidence. All right. Let's go to let's go to audio. Let's go to sound byte number two. Mo- Yarborough used to pretend to be a Republican. He doesn't even pretend anymore, and he is one of the pigeon sisters on morning joke. The circle fest on DNC TV President Trump tweeted over the weekend about paid protesters, and there are many community organizer types, these left-wing groups, there are thousands of them and many of them are funded by George Soros. Who's not, you know, he's an American citizen. I guess is hard core lefty seeks to undermine our institutions by using his billions of dollars in ill-gotten gains to do that morning joke. This morning very upset. Now, President Trump tweeted over the weekend that they're fake protesters. George Soros funded and the Washington Post decided on Saturday, President Trump tweeted this on Friday and on Saturday, the Washington Post decided that to mention George Soros is anti-semitism. Now, the Democrats are dedicatedly anti Israel. Now, we know that Jeremiah Wright, you know, the Jews. Won't let me talk to Barack Barack Obama hanging out with the calypso Louis minister Farrakhan with Jeremiah Wright for twenty years died in the wool anti-semites. That's all fine. He started Obama started his political career in the living room of William Ayers, and Bernardine Dohrn who are anti Israel up. The yin Yang pro-hamas. The Blake break the blockade stuff in there. They're anti-semites is that it's not just anti Israel. They are anti-semites. But I digress. Any suggestion that George Soros is paying for this has been deemed to be antisemitic because George Soros is also Jewish see and the national socialist German Workers Party tried to murder his family like socialists dead throughout the twentieth. Century murdering everybody in their path morning joke. This morning with Mojo himself Friday. President Trump falsely claimed protesters were not notified by their concerns that five paychecks from billionaire George Soros instead, quote, very old tired anti semitic. Very anti semitic..

"Cossio Cortez would actually cost the American people hey Instagram I want to play a fun game 'cause I don't think you've read this article yet so. They've, been, trying to figure out, how much, they would, have to raise taxes in order to pay. For this and one, of the. Things they would have to do is set a new payroll tax in order to raise twenty six, trillion dollars over the decade. Now currently there's the. Fifteen point three percent payroll tax plus all your other federal. And state taxes so that's fifteen point three percent. What do you think the new number we'd. We'd have to by the way this is in addition this is? New payroll tax this is not? In they're not going to add it to the fifteen point three so you're going to have the. Fifteen point three plus this other percentage, take a wild guess, what do you think. That percentage would be twenty five percent. Day do you wanna shot at this take a while Guests on the what the percentage would be in order? To raise twenty six trillion dollars over a decade Forty. You're hi you're low, twenty nine percent in addition by the way. Added to the fifteen point? Three percent so basically forty forty five percent tax before you pay state taxes are we, have a what, five percent state tax here plus all of your sales tax plus all of your other your local taxes how many Bernie Brookes are going to wanna pony that up I I, mean this this is the reality it's really. Nice to talk about how? Things should be but you know what if I'm gonna talk about how things should be, we'd all have, flying cars but we're not doing that because it's not realistic I e even Bernie Sanders with, his litany of tax, increases could only come up with about sixteen trillion, dollars over the next decade, so he can't even pay for his own plan And yet people are having conversations about this like it's actually could actually happen you don't like it really could like whack a. Doodle we talked to running for congress in Alaska Was. It working for the people of Austria I don't give a crap what what's. Working for the people of Austria, it's not gonna work for Americans we're? Cut from a different cloth so the next time somebody tells you? That we should have single payer healthcare you look at them and say how much of your paycheck every paycheck are you willing to LOP, off to pay for single payer healthcare and it doesn't. Matter whether you make ten bucks an hour or you make twenty bucks an. Hour or you make fifty bucks an hour it's we. All have to pay this exorbitant rates starting You know and and, when you start asking people who was. Going to say it or who's going to pay it then then? They all get really quiet Michael you are on KOA NewsRadio thanks for taking my call I think one of the major things that seeps. Out, in this discussion is the compensation Dallas care providers Oh. No Bernie Sanders address that he just said that there would be a forty percent cut in provider payments He did address. He's just going to cut it by forty percent because that's going to happen Well it may happen but not without serious consequence it would not happen because here we. Have all of these doctors who have gone to medical school and, incurred insane insane student loans so they can become medical doctors and all of a. Sudden they're they're going. To be providing. Services essentially for free because they can't cover their overhead I don't think so Well that wouldn't that may not stop you know somebody come trying, to impose on it I mean Medicaid reimbursement rates are really really terrible in Medicare. Is somewhat better but They can still try it you're going to have the rise of healthcare cartels healthcare provider cartels such as the, California nurses association which are very militant union and that, would be really fun and watching. Them. Go up against the, Medicare for all plan when they start seeing these numbers because if you if you cut reimbursements by forty percent how you're gonna pay those. Nurses sure and I mean this there's also situations. Where, they just they have various ways. Of sort, of not providing services such senior Antonia. Come back, tomorrow and so on this, is common in other countries to do, this They, just what we whether they have. A. Way of of sort, of stretching out there payments so they'll say okay you'll see them today say well they do a little bit nicer come back tomorrow and. See me again so they'll get they'll get payments Visit yeah Do things I really like my. Doctor's office, I mean I really like my, doctor's office but we have Tri care prime and their reimbursements are. Pretty low and I feel like they do that. To me sometimes, it's, like oh I'm gonna give you, this prescription but we have to see you every two to. Three months so you can re up it even though I don't take lot is specifically ambient and I have to go back in and we go back in and, they, say oh. You're, everything. Okay fine. Everything's great. So I don't know what to say about that there's there's lots, of, uncompensated things. That, visit. Providers give. You That will certainly change if we create this kind of scheme as enacted I just can't imagine when people actually, heard because, the data that I've seen. So far is even when you see, polling data that is forty three percent but? People favor single payer. If they ask the follow up question would you, be willing to pay for, it the answer is no it drops sound like seventeen. Percent are in favour and I guarantee you know offense to people who don't make a lot of money there, are people who don't make. A lot of money who are doing the math in their heads and thinking they're gonna come out ahead you. Know, a lot of. People think they're going to get to pay. What they pay for all stop that Michael that never happened I've known some business bosses employers who who really supportive in this cost cal- Colorado scheme last year that, our because they think it's. Going to make it easier for them they don't realize how high their taxes are going to have to be. To, pay for it What they think somebody else is going to be please Yeah sure sure okay Michael I appreciate the phone call very much if you were out there thinking that you want to vote for some scheme like. This because someone, else is going to pay for it first of all you're selfish greedy person who wants to use the governments and the force of law and the force of a gun to take, money away from, somebody else for your own.

"Ask you about your what you did as a whistle blower but I I, wanna share with the audience with. The newest superstar in the Democratic Party, Alexandria Cossio Cortez had to say about ice we have to have a rapid response and I think every day that we go on especially a day when. Something that heinous happens we have to occupy all of it we need to occupy every airport need to occupy every border to occupy every ice office until those kids are back with their parents period Occupy we're talking about physical, actions getting in the face of vice. Going to their homes interrupting their work now we're talking about very this is the the situations where it becomes very dangerous for everyone involved It does it what's going to happen When I started targeting politicians. Now, they're gonna target each individual agent now the Cornell University was looking at Cornell was looking, at trying to sue ice agents individually which is it's now these agents are having a tough time beyond our job because they're getting there. Have a big target on our back And. I just it's just amazing to me you know. What would happen to to these communities. If, there was no such thing as ice I wanna talk about you and and and the, whistle blowing that you did during the Obama administration can you share it with the audience share back in twenty fifteen I was an ice Employees I worked for their headquarters I was in detailed over to. What they call the White House Security Council's human smuggling so which. Was a branch of DHS that was supposed to target and dismantle these. Smuggling networks our sending kids up north from south and Central America what I did was I found out that the Obama administration was we're bringing it there so many thousands of kids in the cost of what they were doing is they were, coming in getting like arrested by border patrol or come to the port of entry given over to. Ice ice was giving them the health and human services but. Then health services was handing them over to a contract at the show that would release them the sponsors what was happening was a lot. Of these sponsors thousands of them had criminal convictions and were criminals up two sets of vendors and, never releasing these kids who sponsors sponsor of, being, vetted what I did was I. Blew the whistle on that special counsel and. With their Senator Grassi's office. I went everywhere could just. Screaming out saying hey we gotta get these kids back now these want your MS thirteen. Type kids these were tenure age Kids so I became a. Whistle blow up wow Wow it's amazing I. Just is something that people would want to hear I think this is. Something the public deserves a hearing and something else so let's face it that, it's an. Issue that starting to rank up there a Gallup I think it was. Gallup recently I saw were immigration or slash illegal immigration has now, become the second most critical. Topic for, the midterms at least after the economy so it's I think? It's important that we that we get this right and I think for many that this whole thing is just, a ruse, or or, a smokescreen for open borders. Which is you know just doesn't work every nation every sovereign nation has the. Right and, most of them do control their borders in fact the irony of this whole thing's that, Mexico has much tougher immigration rules than we do but they do allow transit from South America for these folks to get on top of trains in. Ride them all the way up to our borders? So where do you see it going from here because right now I think we're on a dangerous slippery. Slope in and and we're starting to. Embrace Maximum velocity You know. It is it's crazy, right now and that's the thing that journey. Is dangerous and you know the smuggling attracting businesses that multibillion dollar a. Year business so we need to. Curb that but the thing is with the politicians and everything getting, behind immigration it's going to have a. Sharp divide the majority of the country. Wants immigration they want immigration laws that. Are affected they want. Immigration reform they want something that's going. To work we don't have a clear message that you have to follow the proper procedures to come, here legally then you're going to still have a continued influx of aliens coming across a And one thing I wanted to point out is that there, is a proper way to do this..

"Exactly. And even if you disagree with the other party or some candidates policy proposals, hearing them out is important. Right? And so I think that there's far less of that in the media these days and a lot more. Either it's fear mongering or mischaracterization of what the other side wants. And so all of us need to do a better job and really understanding what the other side is saying and don't pay close attention to, you know, the more the squeaky wheel basically because you you hear the squeaky wheel and you think that that's Representative of the party. And that's not necessarily true. Right? And so I think what happened with the right wing's response to a Cossio Cortez was, oh my God. This person wants Cuba like socialism where the government completely controls the means of production that is not what is calling for. She is specifically talking about education. She's talking about healthcare. She's talking about the fundamental basics that people need to have fulfilling stable healthy lives. And I think anyone who sits and listens to what a Costco Cortez has to say about these issues and what our policies are. Can't deny that they are. Popular with the majority of Americans. I mean, you look at the approval rating for Medicare. Look at the response of Republican constituents in some of these states when there were threats of cutting Medicare or cutting social security, those are popular government programs, and you can't if you're on the right wing, you can't keep denying that they are because people like them. And as soon as you talk about cutting them, there's usually some form of protests, I will say for the audience who's watched now this and you might remember the Sean Hannity attempt to take her down where he put up a list of the most appealing platform for politician. I've ever seen enjoy these times while they last because the Republican attack machine will come to grips with democratic socialism. They'll come up with some lies to tell about it. We're in the the honeymoon period right now where they can't help, but make it something good, but they'll they'll figure something out. I want to just take a couple of things in what the assistant editor for the daily caller said, just because she seems like a person with an open mind it. It's not a socialist message. It's a democratic socialist message, and it's not even a particularly extreme one. It's what democratic politics should have been for literally decades at this point. It's not socialism stop saying that it's socialism and also it's not the democrat party. It's the Democratic Party that is the most lingering immature little move where they don't want to say the word democratic because then you would apply the positive connotations you have with democracy of the party the little. So they say democrat, that is something Rush. Limbaugh has been doing for decades. It is so childish. What a baby does rhetorically. Stop saying. It's not the name of the party. It doesn't bother me just my whole life for fifteen years. Probably. I've been seeing people in media do this as really. No, but I'm saying my whole life where I've actually been paying attention to this stupid little immature thing to do. All right. Well, I'm calling it the Republic party from that one. That's how stupid is is exactly that stupid. So let's hear little bit more from crude and which he experienced at this event. Not really paying attention to how they're going to pay for it, or you know the rest of that.
