"Guns in Virginia Shelley thank bank all right Culpepper county sheriff Scott Jenkins has vowed to deputise residence in Culpeper county if the Democrat legend ledges led legislature an axe gun control measures that they've been promising remembered demo governor Ralph nor them said that his party is going to push for gun control measures since they regain control of the Virginia simply they've been trying to do that for a while in July he called for a special legislative session to address gun violence following the shooting in Virginia beats beach and nothing happened with that was adjourned and nothing happened because it's run by Republicans Republicans know that only law abiding citizens follow the laws when it comes to any kind of gun legislature I I just I just remind people do you know why we got this huge push for gun control out of RAF northern it's because he was trying to avoid his black face scandal it all emanated back to that after his wife a scandal started to sink him he used the Virginia beach shooting as a way to hook shot out of it and then decide on a personal gun control and all this and he was well liked again worked in it yeah I have a true survivor here now not to mention Mike Bloomberg buying up so many races across the state in order to get gun control passed in Virginia yeah I'm so Culpepper share of county sheriff Scott Jenkins said every shuriken Commonwealth attorney in Virginia we'll see the consequences of our General Assembly passes further unnecessary gun restrictions I plan to properly screened and deputise thousands of our law abiding citizens to protect their constitutional right to own fire arm this is incredible I mean what an interesting and neat idea he's going to you know screen these guys train him but everyone gets to become a deputy you get a bad just how this works you get to become a cop now just like when you were a kid and you had your little six years on the side with your little holster my brothers my all wheel had a little cowgirl outfit my brother's old cowboy outfits their little holsters and everything this would be like the real deal hi I mean that's already make it does does that mean you qualify for nationwide reciprocity you can because law enforcement officers do thanks to federal law you can carry a gun in any state or local place does despite what their local laws might be like do you get to do that if you are a resident of cop ever Pat county to guess deputized only if you're wearing your ten star you go into another state you got Maryland if you're wearing your ten star you can be you I'm a sheriff's deputy I just adore this idea I think it's me all right now tonight in prince William county the supervisors are scheduled to vote tonight on a resolution that similar to all of the other second amendment sanctuary laws that have resolutions that have been passed they've been passed more than twenty localities in Virginia if it's approved tonight it's going to declare the county a second amendment sanctuary with the aim of restricting the use of county funds to enforce any new federal and state gun laws now we spoke with Cory Stewart last week right here on mornings on the mall we asked him about this General Assembly can pass all the laws they want but that doesn't mean that we have to use our police resources to help enforce those new laws that restrict the second member right he also addressed to the the meeting tonight the board will hear that and we'll take public testimony on December the tenth and the evening session at seven thirty so I'll propose a tomorrow and then we're going to hear from the public on December the tenth at the seven thirty PM session that's tonight tonight now not to be out done **** your county's board will vote on a resolution on Thursday of this week December twelfth how about that senator is try to do before Christmas to local law enforcement doesn't half to help law enforcement at a higher level the state do you know do its thing like a force the state laws which is interesting because it I guess the word becomes as if it's good enough for illegals it should be good enough for citizens well I I actually I do not listen I I don't approve of the way all of this is going I don't approve of saying well we're just not going to force the federal lawsuit depend for for immigration right but if those are going to be allowed to stand and so far they have been allowed to stand and ice has been you know doesn't cooperate doesn't get any kind of cooperation from certain law enforcement agencies well then you know what what's good for the goose is good for the Gander this is how you want to play okay this is how we're going to play so I actually like the Republicans are using the same type of legislation that Democrats have used in order to by pass laws they don't like I think it's a dangerous path but you know what why let's why like Democrats the down the path alone and a lot of people are showing up a lot of citizens are very interested in in this in their counties across the state is more more counties are declaring themselves second amendment sanctuaries but I I got a state I wouldn't if you know if you're interested in this I wouldn't just assume the battles over I wouldn't first of all soon that you're getting tons of gun control legislation at the top of the year you probably are but that fight is ongoing right now yeah so if you want to put pressure on these lawmakers put pressure on them now in the state house before these laws even get past and then of course you can deal with the situation becoming a sexual second memory sanctuary if you want to know what flock here is not a **** can is not gonna declare themselves thank second amendment sanctuary but they will call.

"Week bring NATO allies along time merry Walter good morning joining us now Cory Stewart at large chair of the board of supervisors of prince William county Virginia Cory welcome back to mornings on the mall great to have you thanks to good to be on the show again this morning now about seventy gun right gun rights activists attended a board of supervisors meeting and they asked the board to declare the county is second amendment sanctuary but it has to be proposed by a member of the board of supervisors in order for that to even happen so where are we as far as that goes has this been proposed by a member of the board of supervisors or is it going to be well I do want to announce this morning that tomorrow at the board meeting in the afternoon I will be proposing resolutions that would make prints one counties a second amendment century to protect gun rights of citizens of Richmond county and that the board will hear that and will take public testimony on December the tenth and the evening session at seven thirty so all propose a tomorrow and then we're going to hear from the public on December the tenth at the seven thirty PM session now Corey normally when we hear the phrase sanctuary count your century city it's in reference to immigration and that typically means that state and local officials will not work with the feds on enforcing immigration laws what does it mean to be a second amendment sanctuary county it means that as the General Assembly through a very politically driven agenda the Democrats taken complete control of rid of the Virginia General Assembly come January they've already pre filed a whole bunch of bills that would limit second amendment rights of Virginians and what a second second I'm a sanctuary county your locality means is that the state General Assembly can pass all the laws that wants but that doesn't mean to the localities that we have to use our police resources are law enforcement resources to help enforce those those new laws that restrict the second amendment rights of its citizens but yet we were talking earlier about how Jennifer waxed and I is proposing a bill or has put a bill up already that would require credit card companies and banks to coordinate with the federal government to track purchases to make sure that no one stockpiling weapons which would signal like I'm not shoot or something along those lines if that's at a federal level wouldn't that override any kind of second amendment sanctuary on a state level well it it yes I mean if federal and state laws of course do preempt a local ordinance but we're not we're not going to be PO proposing something that's going to conflict with the federal or state law tomorrow we're going to be doing what a whole bunch of other localities of already done Virginia nice to say look you can pass your lives but that doesn't mean that you're entitled to use a local police the local sheriff's office to help enforce those laws so we're just saying look we're not going to we're not going to go to come after our citizens to to limit and curb their second amendment rights of states wants to do that they can use their own law enforcement resources to do it yeah and also I mean this is entirely in line with the way Democrats of view laws that they're you know that they can be subjectively a four of enforced and or assisted in forcing we see that with immigration as county after county that run by Democrats in Virginia declares itself a sanctuary county we see that among district attorneys and states attorneys and Commonwealth attorneys in Virginia who just who you know who are supported by like people like George Soros in the elections in the reason for that is because they're only gonna selectively prosecute laws so what you're saying is okay if it's good for the goose is good for the Gander and Latin county we're gonna make it so that one our local resources are not going to be used to help enforce gun control laws passed at the state level or in prince William county rather start prince William's yeah right so yeah I mean Democrats you can't really complain because they you know they passed over press pass a whole slew of century lies to protect the rights of the so called right of illegal aliens well now we're proposing century laws to protect the second amendment rights of legal US citizens right so there's a big difference there and I I think this is one thing that to note is that this is just been passing like wildfire all over the Commonwealth of Virginia Virginians are rightfully can CERN but now it's a complete democratic control of the house the Senate the governorship that they're going to be limiting tried to this for a whole bunch of stuff against the wall to see what sticks to try to limit the the second member rights of citizens and by the way Democrats can you know they campaigned on you know doing stuff about something about education transportation healthcare they're not doing anything about those things three quarters of the bills that they propose so far for the upcoming General Assembly session three quarters of those bills you to restrict second member writes for a deal with social issues that have nothing to do with it the common concerns of citizens of Virginia but what they would say to you is that in polls voters in Virginia and elsewhere do site gun policy is a very important issue an overwhelming majorities do support group background checks and red flag laws in in Virginia you saw that store to switch change after the Virginia beach shooting at the at the municipal building and you said you did start to see more support for that coming from Virginians so I I wonder if this is something that's going to spread especially as you noted Virginia's turning blue as you start to to see more and more people move into Virginia who want to see this happen you know the thing is all of us are heartbreaks and something like that happens but you have to ask yourself what actually would prevent it none of these bills would actually have prevented any of those mass shootings none of those I read these mass shootings are done by people who are you know either have a a criminal background or have a lot of psychological issues but but trying to limit the the the the the gun rights of law abiding citizens has never worked it will never work of all the mass shootings since nineteen fifty all of them has been a so called gun free zone only three have been enough and non gun free zones but just trying to limit the the the rights of law abiding citizens has never worked to try to curb these types of gun violence when Democrats take over the board of supervisors how how quickly can they reverse any action you take beginning this week well they can reverse it immediately if they wish and I think that you know they made a deal with things in a different way than this for does but I can tell you one thing this tremendous intense public concern about the General Assembly trying to limit the second I'm rights we saw that on very short notice you know seventy people showed up to our meeting if this was not something that I ginned up or any other member of the board this is something that the citizens are very concerned about and I think on December the tenth at seven thirty PM we take this up we're going to see hundreds of of presume county residents who are urging the board to try to protect their rights against the the General Assembly that's trying to take them away yeah you're you're hitting a a very cultural moment in Virginia where the culture is starting to change and and you've got a nip that in the bud fight that now in order to maintain the status quo if that's what the majority people want yeah merry I completely agree with you and I've I think you know I've I've just got done you're running to back to back state campaigns I know Virginia very very well and I can tell you this that when the General Assembly the Democrats have woken a sleeping giant when they're trying to curb the second amendment rights in Virginia a people are rightfully very concerned if this is spreading like wildfire it's now here we will be the first one in northern Virginia if we adopted to adopt that but we won't be the last all right Corey store thank you very much from prince William county good Abby this morning thank you Friday fifteen now W. "Look for me on the ballot I think I'm gonna go ahead well my name in the hat and run against her I have talked about this with my colleagues and stuff at work I'm just done with these people all right more is almost exclusive thank you for that Leo from around health planning on throwing his hat in the ring is Jennifer Watson will await them good for Leo because I think a lot of people sit back and just complain about it it's only this personally that but you know Leo is so fired up the he's actually thinking about saying you know what I'm gonna challenge is going to put the work in so I applaud that good free Leah yet thank you Leo also what will this do to gone businesses people who sell guns how would this affect them a likely we've got warmer and love it's now he owns a gun store Warner good morning are you guys doing today yes some money for her own them in arms out in the low but still western part of Loudon county and what I do as a as a practicing about half my business is done in cash and so I highly encourage people to pay with cash the boys me in tractor credit cards and things like that always give a five percent discount as well you know the also the credit cards these but I have I given the encroachment of the government on our second amendment rights I try to enable every law abiding citizen to be less bonobo to government intrusion in that sector the member I wonder how would this affect your business if the government starts collecting data from credit card purchases on guns well actually I think for me personally actually improved in the sense that I'm well known forgive and for urging people to do stuff via cash yeah and to have them yeah we would urge firearms or ammo whatever the case may be always give a five cent discount as well so I'm actually well known for that right all right thank you Warner yes someone her him yeah I mean he's saying he might be that he might be a place people go because he's always encouraging cash purchases Keith is in Gaithersburg this morning line three this is Keith good morning Kate good morning I'm not I'm not a gun owner and I just listen to this and think it's so nonsensical I mean she's making an assumption that a mass murderer will stockpile weapons only need one A. R. to be a mass murder and so they go out and find out this information okay you bought twenty guns in the last three years then one is going to do with that they're gonna stop on your door and say well we're gonna rest you because your potential mass murder right this is just nonsense yeah you think they kind of get to get to the bottom of like actual mass shootings first before they start passing legislation designed to deprive other citizens of their rights like let's talk about like when the most well known case of somebody actually stockpiling weapons and killing people a lot of people that was in Las Vegas were you at the Vegas shooter what we know about that guy nothing nothing we know nothing about that guy and no one's curious no one is even curious as to how come we don't know anything right it's a yeah and that's that's totally gone fall by the wayside like that was that's the deadliest mass shooting in our history and all the curiosities disappeared well whatever we don't know what he did why did it go by will be eight is this is this just I don't like the the encroachment number one but I also don't like the way that they're making criminals out of people who are law abiding citizens but that's the point they're trying to drive gun owners the check out of business or trying to make it so difficult to do business that you just say forget it I'm just not gonna do this I'm just nothing to sell guns anymore because they make it so onerous on you and so difficult to purchase and so difficult to sell prime that they just kill the strangle the industry that's what they're trying to do let's get Marshall in here from West Virginia who Marcia your state representative yes in West Virginia I'm also retired infantry altering on me and I want to think critically ill and round will make it happen he needs to make it happen get out there and run for office win this thing and Mr stand for our second amendment rights also wanted to let you know that we over here in West Virginia have constitutional care and we would like to welcome anybody from Virginia who are here seven arise stepped on the move all over our way I get that like a little bit of Ellen again advertisement this morning for West Virginia thank you I love that Marshall appreciate that and Marshalls points is well taken like as Leo saying he's threatening to running is Jennifer wax and this is one of those times rehear Apollo are a public official taking things in a direction that you have on a contempt for and it is in some cases a call to action maybe you maybe this is your calling maybe here that you think boy I should run for office I can change this factually wrong yeah I I love that I guess that I'm glad that Leo said I'm just not gonna sit here and complain I'm actually thinking I'm going to throw my hat in the ring at the very least even if you don't win let's say we does run even if you don't win you at least can run an issue candidacy the pressures that Canada in this case Jennifer waxed and to defend herself or to back away from that position because it's just too toxic for the voters one well I'm sure that the people who voted for her like this you know again as Virginia turns more and more blue your profit she's probably going to see more more support so she's gambling and saying this is going to be a win among my constituents the problem though is this is this of this will affect everyone not just Virginia I will speaking of Virginia and speaking of guns we're gonna talk to Cory Stewart from prince William county at eight OO five this morning as that county considers becoming a sanctuary county for gun owners the second amendment century county court I'll have details for us today five six twenty four and IBM they'll where Washington comes to talk WMAL one of five point nine FM.
