Meet Josh Mandel, Running for U.S. Senate

"I thought Let me ask Josh Mandel to come on the program because the last time he ran for the Senate, I endorsed him. You're also facing Josh Mandel. Some big time rhinos, part of the Republican Party in Ohio, who are pretending to be conservatives. So tell the American people and tell the people of or hire a few would a little bit about your background. Thanks smart. I am fully anti establishment. I am not going to Washington to just drain the swamp. I'm going there to blow up the swamp while I'm going to take on the radical left in the secular left. I also think that we have a fight for the soul of the Republican Party, a fight for the soul of the conservative movement, and we can no longer afford to elect Mitt Romney's Liz Cheney's or these J. D. Vance's Who are rhinos, just like Romney. Endless Cheney. We need to elect reinforcements. For Ted Cruz reinforcements for Mike Lee reinforcements for Jim Jordan and for Donald Trump, and that's exactly what I am. I'm a Marine Corvette did a couple tours in Iraq. I'm a constitutional conservative, and I'm a fighter. I'm not going to Washington to make friends. I'm not going to Washington to get invited to the cocktail parties. I'm definitely not going there to get liked by the media. The mainstream media deadwood media, social media, They already hate me. I'm going to Washington to stand up for the

One Reason Why Conservatives Are Terrible at Messaging

"Good at messaging. How else do they sell such a junk garbage agenda? It's because they're skilled messengers. Now get ready. A very good friend of mine. Explain to me why. Very well connected guy. He's a patriot, not establishmentarian. But he knows that swamp well because he fights against them a lot. He's got his tentacles and everywhere and he said to me a while ago, he said, Dan, You want to know the differences between the Democrats and the Republicans. When it comes to messaging. I'm telling you right now I'm a conservative. I'm a Republican. I'm admitting the Democrats are 1000 times better than us at messaging. But why? He explained to me, he said, all of our donors on the conservative Republican side they're like commodities guys, petroleum executives, metals industry steel, that kind of thing. They're pro business. But they're not really marketers by nature. Me. Think about it. You own a petroleum company. Petroleum products, plastic gasoline, whatever. What's your marketing pitch? Right. Is it really marketing? It's like nobody goes to a gasoline. They're like. Oh, I gotta get that gasoline. It smells really nice. I mean, nobody does that. You stop at the gas station close to your house, or you go to the one That's cheaper, right? Is there any real marketing in it? I mean, you know, once in a while, they'll be like, you know, Get Sunoco 94 or whatever. Rev up your Corvette. Who knows? But there's not a lot of marketing. Follow me. He said. This is why when I heard I never forgot this so much. I'm talking about it to you on the radio now. So when these big donors come to the Republican groups, you're uncomfortable with it. However, you may be donors money. It's fine. I'm just telling you the truth of what I heard, and he's right. A lot of them are these commodities. We have no experience in marketing because they don't have to in their industry. Marketing really isn't that big of a deal. It's just a cost industry. They go to these Republican groups and they they say things like, Hey, I want this in the platform, and here's how you should sell it, and these people just suck at marketing. They just do. He's like, That's why our message.

Designing Modern Interiors While Preserving Your Car's Heritage With Dave Vos

"What's in the pipeline for customs by voss. What are you guys. Have on the table. What's in the near future. The distant future what's happened. We got a shop full of fun stuff. We're finishing up a long term project that we've been slowly picking away at its debut with seem excited for that and then we have a few Thirties cars which. I haven't touched a thirties. Car and probably like seven years. And i did a lot when i was working for my dad growing up. And i've been very excited to do a street rod and it turns out we have two of them come. Initiate one's going to be actually a concourse car which i haven't done before it's going to be a huge challenge which i love and Now you can do nothing but grow from the situation. The street rod That will do debut with the grand national roadster show and it also be going out of the year next year which which is cool so the car a secret. Can you tell us anything about it or is that something to keep under wraps. It's it's it's a sixties corvette some cool people before me of touched no major shops or anything but had some good hands on it and it's a it's cool. It's an all black horror black interior so it probably won't even get looked at inside a seamer because black interiors just turned into a black hole but still ends up being pretty detailed. I got a professional photographer. Common in a couple of weeks to shoot it so okay. I'm excited to show the world this thing we've been like i said we've been slowly picking away at a for a while all right good. Well that's incense like you guys got a lot going on which is normal for your shop. This one would be a little bit tough. Give me a few of your favourite vendors and tell us why why they're so good aaron and hides leather is. I've been working with him on and off for the last I'd say eight nine years. He's great because for one. He's very caring about his customers. He's knowledgeable about his products and he's got a great attitude which i've learned dealing with other vendors. They attitude can ruin their relationship

Jacob Thornton Has a Drunk Driver Encounter

"Welcome jake thanks so much for joining us today. Well i'm glad to be here more super excited to hear all your crazy driving stories. So let's start with what you would say is one of your most craziest driving experiences one of my most craziest driving experiences. What have to be the summer of twenty eighteen. This was right before i graduated college. I was going out with a couple of buddies of mine. And we just got back from penn stack and we are just driving down seventy five north just rocking out to music having fun windows down on all four sides and all of a sudden comes this random person it looked like they are driving a corvette day. Start tailgating me and my friend. We were literally the only ones out on the road. We're like the hey. Let's go mess with them. And i'm like heck. Yeah we're going. We're going to teach him a lesson. And of course i don't play nice when it comes to tailgaters. I really i really don't. I'm like the enforcer on the road. Because i teach them you know. Hey the closer you get the slower. I'm going to go. But i don't harm anyone. Of course. I just do that to tell them. Hey don't do this so anyway. We're like yeah. Let's let's mess with them for a bit. See what happens. Speed limits to seventy five on a highway. The guys tailgating me and my friend. The two other lanes are open. No excuse me. Three lanes were the only two cars on the highway. This point everywhere. Everyone else's six sixteen hundred feet back like way back there at this point. The car behind Switches lanes and we do the same thing we switch over to the right lane and he's tailgating us both keep switching lanes until we both go off the exit ramp. We go off the exit ramp and their tailgating and slowing down and we return to get off other road. We come face to face with the driver and it's not a guy but it's a woman so me and my friend at this point. Had the windows up in the music turned down to medium. We both realized we were just making a woman very upset and she was like in her

Why The 90's Was The Decade Of The SuperCar

"To pass gas. I'm your host known sites trying to always by james pump. Frey hello there. Everyone it is i james and not an pasta and joe weber. What's up wink wink nation. I'm here for you. And i am fired up and as as the boys have been Saying we are talking about ninety supercars today on this episode. We were talking before we started. Recording i think like we're a little bias as far as the nineties. Being the greatest time for supercars that's like saying like the nineties is the best time for cartoons. Yes because that's when joe and i grew up at least win win. Did you grow knowing how old a year you're six years six years old Yeah i mean born in ninety three so like my k- yeah you're the first time when you realize supercars where thing was in the nineties. I sure i heard third eye blind on the radio is what you're saying about three eleven. Her three eleven to okay got it. So like like the diablo's the labor gyn machines. Those are big big parts of your formative years for sure. Yeah now supercars are a lot more prevalent. Yeah i feel like within the last ten years like it's blew up again. But i feel like the nineties really set the president the president the president and showed what was possible and kind of like blew the whole supercar thing out of the water because we had just come out of the malays era and people were like. I want something fast and flashy and purple and green are really cool right now so. Let's just make cars like debt for sure. And i think you know from the sixties to the eighties like cars. That would be considered supercars today. I mean there are just called sports cars you know. Yeah 'cause they were. They were really fast. Yeah not the ninety s great supercars because it literally defined that genre. That's when he started seeing like dance materials carbon fiber the. That's it that's it really for me only carbon-fiber that's the only qualifier. I think we should just get right into it. Yeah let's go. let's go so so. How did we get to the nineties. Being the definitive era of supercars the term supercar itself isn't really official it. Roughly describes a high performance. Luxury or exotic. Sports car generally a two seater with at least an eight cylinder engine. Although that'll probably change here the trend towards these vehicles started as far back as the sixties when detroit started shoehorning big block. v8's into sedans and turning the results loose on the american public and of course we know those as muscle cars across the atlantic european manufacturers were also busy refining. their lightweight. sports cars what. These smaller cars lacked in displacement and seating they made up for easily in handling and driveability as a sixties turned into the seventies. Those massive motors became liabilities with the looming gas crisis and clean air act of nineteen seventy then the second oil crisis in nineteen seventy nine. The industry yet again. An american cars continued to get smaller and more efficient manufacturers in the. Us knew they had to do something. So they're carburetors. Were replaced by fuel injection and distributors being swapped for coil packs. But we weren't there yet after all the one thousand nine hundred. Five corvette made her on the same horse. Power as a well-equipped twenty twenty. Camry the so-called malays era when autos reached a low point of reliability and performance was in full swing. New emissions equipment was starving the motors of their power. And even in the instances where these new cars had style. The eighty-five corvette being a prime example was under. The hood didn't match up that being said the eighties were still an impressive decade for supercars. Just not in the united states. American consumers still reeling from the death of the muscle car scene started looking abroad for inspiring performance. Every decade is a reaction to the one that came before in the eighties shoved back. The seventies with an absolute explosion of high performance supercars a handful of imported performance. Cars like the lamborghini coon tash for testarossa and the lotus esprit were blowing enthusiasts minds and with the stock market. Looking like pikes peak. There were selling faster than cocaine in wall. Street bathrooms by the nineties. A lot of that pesky emissions tech that was thrust on manufacturers was starting to get smarter as we're onboard computers and fuel injectors the progressing technology let engines breathe better and pass their gases in ways. That didn't starve the performance. Nice if you if you like stories like this check out. Our podcast passed gas. Celebrities enrich folks. Were having a hard time justifying spending big bucks on stiff bucket seats and jarring track suspension setups and manufacturers took the hint burr example lamborghini spent the late eighties upgrading. The coon tauch into the diablo. The coon tosh is often derided for having a borderline unusable only tight interior that overheats quickly so they lengthened diablo to improve the comfort ability in the cabin. The word is this comfort. Yeah right after ability never heard of that. Is that a diablo right there. This is a blow right here and it's purple too. Yeah that's the blister. That i had

GM going electric

"Starting things off talking about general motors engines. And the reason we're doing that are two very interesting in pieces of news. We've got Last week gm announced that as of twenty thirty five th they are going to stop offering internal combustion engines in their light cars so basically you might still be able to get a va in your silverado. Twenty five hundred or something like that but vast majority of their vehicles probably even performance stuff like your corvette if the camaro still around then those are all going to be e vs or maybe plug in hybrids but basically gas a purely gas powered engines are not in their future and so i wrote up the road up the story last week and it really got my gear. Spit on that. You know g. m. is one of the oldest auto makers in the world nerd. They've got over one hundred years of history and there are some absolutely fantastic internal combustion engines in that town at also. Interestingly this week. I'm this is a story that you wrote about it is at you know. Cadillac announced that the new cto four. V black-wing c. T. v. black wing. Those are going to be the last v models from cadillac with internal combustion engines and so it really seems like gm serious about this at least for right now So yeah it's it's a weird time. Jim anything to add about the cadillac part of that. Well i mean yes. And no. I guess the bigger question is whether or not gm can actually pull this off than our commenters brought up as well as you know. Twenty thirty is a long time and time away make makes promises that doesn't necessarily keep so they they sometimes don't always follow through most of the all of the time. Maybe i i. I don't wanna sound too harsh on gm. Because i mean they're they're they're going forward and and i mean frankly they have to go for it right. The whole industry is moving in that direction. And we're we're faced with a gm lineup right. Now that is pretty much almost completely devoid of any electrification Damning they have some Just wanted just a couple of vehicles right off the top of my head. Of course they've got the the gmc hummer okay. i. I don't know if a hundred and ten thousand dollar luxury electric pickup truck is really going to be the the mainstream savior but yeah fourteen. Years can get there and cadillac. I mean these These amazing looking sports sedans. That's going to be the the end

COVID's Impact On Chinese Fine Wine Consumers

"I'm going to be talking about the impacts on china's why market on how those impacts affected consumers buying behaviors. First of all this year. The buzzword hearing is locked down on but in china and we talk about lockdown. It's in the strictest sense one household household can only allow one person to go out once a day to purchase all the necessities unlike in europe. Or in the us where you have the luxury to go out and to do a lot of chores. In china it's really strict on areas. That are most affected by the pandemic. You're not even allowed to go all. There's a community officer who is on standby just to send all the necessities to you to your door. So this is the contact where talking about when we want to understand kovic impact on china this is also the circumstance under which a lot of the business have to operate for three months from late january to april. So this is something i want to want. Everyone who's listening in to bear in mind to keep it in the back of head on back of a mind to understand the corvettes impact. So i upon. I'm going to talk about cova impact on china's wine imports. So what happened to win. By the end of january china had locked down the whole country as a result restaurants hotels essentially closed and miss the most important chinese new year sales for anyone wondering how big and how important is chinese new year for a lot of wind merge and a lot of the a lot of them who i talked to told me chinese new year wine sales account for roughly twenty percent or even up to thirty percents of their i knew sales so imagine seven day period was lots okay and then imagine. That period was attended for three months. That's the challenge facing a lot of the importers in china and of course logistics were delayed because quickly the pandemic spread from china to the rest of the world Even when china in may and june recovered from the pandemic countries are like ryan's italy and you were in the depth of the pandemic dot affected global logistics while because we have the latest figures from china customs at a showed import volume declined by thirty percent. Thirty point eight percent to three hundred forty seven million leaders in poor value declined roughly thirty percent as well to u. s. one point eight four billion. This is quite significant. Because i want to joe attention to the fact that last year china's one import value already declined. We saw roughly ten percent job in volume terms and one percent in value terms because of the economic slowdown and trade war between china and was so the downturn. We are saying this year is a continuation of what happened last year as well. So that's you know might have a projection for what is to expect on what's to calm right okay. So next one. I am going to talk about because of the job in wine. Imports and how it affected merchants consumers and the price points are was sane on the shelves merchants of course when you have stalks that are meant to be depleted for chinese new year. That a stew setting in the warehouse. What you do when you have uncertainties facing forward you'll become a more cautious your becoming more cautious with your spending what to buy how to budget. That's natural response. A market exit suddenly. We're seeing a lot of merchants exiting the market. Unfortunately one of the examples with sane is from jovial. Many of you guys familiar with jovial so basically joe view is a wine and agricultural importing company backed by the tech giant nenova. Five years ago when it entered the market to stop two important should be winds. It costs a lot of fanfare and naturally they had the peak around twenty key bruns. Included a the biggest Organic winery madonna in in chile. And also jong here moe's fabulous wines earlier this year due to the pandemic it's general manager said they're suspending the wine business. This is not a small one time importer. we're looking at a company. Dots actually has the scale. That's the direct impact of the pandemic. I'm coffee cards. Of course a lot of wineries and importers were having zero sales in february in particular consumers when you have job uncertainty because of the pandemic what are you gonna do. You're becoming more cautious with. You're spending your accounting or the non essential standings unfortunate wine is counted as numb- essential on like you know maybe in france or italy or in the us consumers of course they're trading down if they are buying winds at all. They are really budgeting what to buy. You know what is the best value. What is the most affordable wine outing the market this can be reaffirmed by the expert on expert data we just from burgundy from january to september export volume to china shop to by roughly thirty percent and in value terms jumped by roughly around twenty percent and we see some increases in areas where Or shop elise. Those kind of increases assertion guan crew premier cru in terms of red and whites that Racing price-wise wines priced under one. Hundred orrin be is the most popular category one hundred. That's about fifteen dollars. So what happened to on trade and why on trade matters like any other. Why importers in in the war in europe or in the us traditional ones heavily dependent on trade on restaurants and bars and hotels to win. The pandemic happened especially in china. Were the strictness of the lockdown is so severe on so carefully scrutinized at enforced restaurants bars were treated during the pandemic on china. We're talking about country that has ten million restaurants chinese new year. Like i said completely shot during the seven day. National holiday dining sector alone lost five hundred billion. That's seventy six billion. Us dollars lockdown. Measure of various strictness were enforced from end of january to april lasting three months. Even in some cases restaurants were allowed to open. Are you can only do delivery service delivery service it go to. It's a growth factor at a hall make makeup for what's lost from in dining services and heidi loud. That's another biggest restaurant chain. China lost to five billion to stirring saint periods just to give you an idea of the severity of on-trade unfortunately among all the alcoholic beverage categories. Wine was hit the hottest. This is not said by me. This is actually coming from one zooming secretary general of china alcoholic drinks association which is the official drinks association in china. That's regulate Anything related to alcohol in china. It's very powerful organ and he basically said homecoming function for wine was essentially non existent as heavily relies on social consumptions such as restaurants to the decline with shoppers. A wong stall too short before giving any thinkers on the decline. But we can guess it's melted doubled. It's not a single digit

Laura Wontrop Klauser, Chevrolet sports car program manager for Corvette Racing, Cadillac Racing

"We have. Laura want closer. Who was recently named the sports car racing program manager for general motorist racing. and laura. I just wanna start out. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me. This is really exciting right well. I know that you're down. Daytona beach is well been exciting week for you and the race pergram. I want to get to that. But let's just start i without you. Were just recently named sports car racing program manager for general motors prior to that you were the program manager for gm's cadillac. Dpi program in the weathertech sportscar championship series. So just tell us about your job your role and how it's changed in the last week with this new position. Sure yes so by going over to be the sports car racing program manager in simple terms. What has happened is i now have all of our sports car programs which includes cadillac. Of course the camaro gt four program. And then the big one that i just picked up corvette which thrilled to be a part of of that team in that program and essentially the roles the same except just working with the different teams program manager's job at gm. We control the budget for the various programs. And that's laid out differently depending on if it's a customer program or factory program or you how we want to do that and then we also are the single point contact for the teams back to gm and also for the chassis suppliers and engine suppliers is so if they have any questions or any concerns that they want to relay back they see you go through me and then i'll take it to what i need to do. Either make a decision or or go above me. If i need to to solve a problem and then also very much. Integrated into design and development of the race cars at this point for all of those three programs. I just mentioned the cars are done. Which is exciting. So the new design and development. That i'll hopefully be getting into will be anything we do for future programs. Which is something that i'm involved in you know looking at. What would we like to do for from gm's perspective. Where do we wanna race. What brands do we want to race. All of that in the sports car arena. So it's nice. I have all different things. I get to be focused on which keeps the days different every single one and also keeps it so that i never get bored. Doing one thing like you said i mean. You've had a lot to your plate here with this new role. Previously mentioned you oversaw cadillac. And now. you've got corvette racing under your umbrella as well general question like how many people would you say you over at the company. I know you work with teams. So i guess it's probably different than if you were like a team manager but like in your role as a as a program manager that works with several sports teams. How many people would you say. You're you're looking here that's a. That's a good question If you count the teams is being part of the family. Which very much do even though. I'm not gonna go tell a mechanic what to do. That's not my job. But you know i wanna make sure that i look out for all them. Each team is at least you know what the rolex bring more people but twenty thirty people depending and then. What is this year at the rolex we have nine cars three camaros for lax and two corvettes. So i guess if you add it all up it's quite a few people especially with delara and ecr and then our engine team at gm included in there But like i said i. I don't really directly manage you. Know what the teams do in terms of telling the mechanics how to put the wheel on or anything along those lines. It's more so just giving them the connection. And then i control the purse strings for a lot of it especially the corvette program so you know ultimately it's like one of those love hate relationships. We have to work together to each. Get what we need

"I. Maybe i should have asked me this. Will we were talking so of your head shot out the league right but Ask you could you could give me onboard little in it in not about just beating pittsburgh. This past week is his is more so injuries. More than anything. Because one. I watched on trade winnings before the season started is that his tackling ability is is at an elite level for corn. So dim getting him. Mackenzie alexander von barrel like play. Mackenzie alexander we have not said. I've been feeling like re signed him. He's he's gotta be brought back right so so so those guys right there. I feel like we have the form of toughness. You're gonna get up on you. On the line of scrimmage wanna make sure that we could did she the amount of drives you have is what. I'm hoping and then i can see a path where lou like blue doesn't call. He's only called two or three games that stick out to me and that's what we took it. The we look at the decisions at the end of the second browns game and then we look if some of the decisions of the going into i think in the chargers in coach game was something we will lie why they sit back Everybody sucked in. I'm thinking about like games. Were actually read do you. could you could. There's arguments flu like. I'm not mad at you. You said jim turner has got to go. I don't know what callahan's contract bryan callen his father or via an major or. Maybe he doesn't want to work with his father getting bill callahan. As office coordinator would slam dunk. I like like debt. Changes everything for me. Because i'm able to get proper scouting. I can go get elite. I could go get my free agent guard that i want. I could go get whoever on when i can. I can trust. I could trust. Will he sees in big. Like i'm talking about like a edinburgh in in a good no which one to take again. That's what i'm scared to. So it changes everything. And then i feel i have a clear head and i have a clear plan. We talk about death pieces like because they don't do that. I'm saying give. We got a buffalo bills sustain in gotta just go get like six eight guys that are like made average whatever just like saint spain it just see which one comes out the best Stereos i don't see how little work joe burrow doesn't really need if they had like another another quarterback type mine as a coach. I think it will work better. This at ten. Am i paying. I think horrible. We we keep on saying that every i think would really work on in if you watch college football. Please don't pay attention to hardball their pay. Attention harbaugh when he had in in in the game like that in in the nfl. This probably pipedream. And i don't wanna extended show too much. But what about trading. For mike zimmer like asked rare is going to happen before escape from the number. Three picks eighty reid. I will tree. I would trade. I would trade the second third round. "You're right you're right. Buddy told me mike parsons. Somebody was light and we can't get. I'd take mike. Parsons i'm becker isn't really a need with this team. Everything i mean. I could be taught me to let me. I could be taught to watch him. Play like dat in a in a note on which price. And then i know what i got in logan wilson. I know what. I got. An akim davis in i know i got a veteran leader will binds in run support. Like what am i doing like. That's a route leg. That's top fifteen. Top maybe taught best player available. Mica mike i i just think the linebacker in two thousand twenty two thousand twenty one is. The moat is the least impact. I'm wishing at least impact position in football. It's so different linebacker in quarterback out outta to unicorns in his whole. Bpa thing it doesn't matter what a quarterback if you don't have a quarterback you better go get one it ain't no linebacker like not diminished. What they do and if pratt are ya listen. We diminishing that at all where we're search hanging. Okay searching best when this first consciously when this first became a possibility. When i thought of it i was like ongoing 'certain but he's fallen down. I remember looking awhile ago. Ser tan was in the top. Five right now. My mind instantly went there all right. If i can't get i'm sam but he's molin behind another corner. I think one thing that you said in a pass a hot is that you gotta go get your guy right. It pits his the guy that i think he is. I would love to get out of that spot and go. I think he's i think like what would if we get an nsf. Joe burrow causing brian. He's like i wanted to march chase. Oh listen to hagel. It's a rookie. Joe burrow is your gm good. I can with marseille's don't worry about it and we're gonna do this free agency. You listen to joe gregory a lot of people at any as russia that i heard everybody sauce about him but he's fourteen. You can't take them at number three game but you know this is going to change a lot too and then you know how to win on their no names but think about all the people that was on the diso mems train you know like am memo. His name flew up. The board member passionate clean name was flying the board everybody every every bagel play like and i kept on saying the linebacker from i don't know how the doing the linebackers from texas when i watch his highlights. I think his name was like woods or something like that jordan somebody in commerce sims. I need to go look at him this year but him indicate a cane davis gaither in in Member gay those hurry. It i was like. Nah i rather have him to patrick. Queen era me is like you say i'm gonna cut you mahbubur but west scare me is when i first heard about this draft. They talked about always going to be so many lyman in they go in the first and all of that like a stack and now i'm looking at it like the more and more i look the more and more they put like a legal his own and then the next guy that you see here isn't too wide davis ohio sake. I could've swore a month ago. It wasn't like that so what has changed. I look like how to like. You say it's going to be a senior will be aware season. I wanna tell you that that wilson's name is going to shoot up the board because the pro russia for the pros pros that really really talk about quarterback play like looking at him like in the in a zach i mean in carson wentz site talent level. Like one of those guys are a little bit under the radar for the average common football watcher. Not a big name powerhouse. But is going get out there. And he throws he throws a beautiful bow. Like it's so different. When i watch jacksonville's i don't sit there and say i love the way he throws a football. I love the way he gets out of situations. What's he's is. No different in jalen hurts. You'll be really good for awhile. I'm sure but can he sustain it in the nfl and referred weird season bro. Because you got all of these players like for instance tomorrow chase. They both opted out like they season. So you got those guys. Dan playing this slide not to say that you hold anything against them. But let's just say for instance with justin harbor right twenty nineteen adjuster. Herber comes out. He's the number one prospect mine happened in all of that but most people say it was herbert right right. He goes in its twenty. Twenty as the number one prospect. Borough happens borough happens show happen next thing you know. He's the number three prospect. We haven't seen the season from or hey guess that's the crazy thing about pineda. Caution is like yes. He absolutely is a monster in. I think that's a slam dunk. I think he's just as much as a slammed up. Pick as joe burrow is but the one thing that i just can't wrap my mind around his like okay with if something happens to this blind guy win same spot if we don't do anything it's almost i get exactly what you're saying. We might be in the opposite to think about jones stuff right billy price. They all had the played season. They got hurt when i was in college. Netto is like you know that. He's one hundred percent louis like healthy but could it be that since he hasn't been playing bro..

"He has another dimension to this team but this is the thing yes he's a tight end office align right tight ends block and catch so he can also be a guy that help in the blocking game and also be a weapon and i think tight ends now are more of a mismatch innocence. Then wide receivers mismatches. However why where to position. But when you gotta travis kelsey are when you have Gay man from the forty niners. George kittle desk different. Like an only has a doubt. He's leading the league receiving as a tight end crazy to me. No i can't get gore would take it in auto scenarios that we were talking about right. I was never talked about a wide receiver number three. And i never was. I said i will take lead. I will fill the second. Like see higgins without acting. Get behind drafting pits. Three because tightening is a position of a learning curve in. I can imagine him. You're one doing really well. But i can't imagine him. Actually negatively may be missing out on a lotta assignments. There's a big learning only crazy crazy. Smart ones like. I don't know enough about him to say yes. That's the number three pig. I think you could trade down. Get out of that pick is still bits. That's that's true. But here's the other thing. Whenever someone is pass rushing are sending a blitz like they did against the bengals the first readers the tight end. Nobody scared her drew sample. Nobody can sending on. I'm not saying that i'm not saying that. If they do blitz right and pick goes out for a route is wide open. Like if you can't blitz your linebackers and send a house like they've been doing to us other pain what i am being. They're they're doing that because nobody scared of sample. It's it's all good if he's there but that's another thing that he can do in that area that will help us. Offenses are come on send a blitz go ahead. I'm a hit. You ever saw him over your head. Every time with joe burrow right to pits. Now if he's at number three and you don't feel like he should be picked in that spot because let's say dried out. He runs a bat. Forty or something like that day. Yeah you move back and you can still say pets are unless you ran a four three bulwer tighter position. I can't take title in a number three. I can't i. Just don't i just think that i can finesse get myself out of that is still probably get bits around nine ten spots that ending in get another pick like in the second round or something that i really believe that. That will be like the place for me. The the motive is still the same. I still wanna high end guard fain played his ass off. Last night was very highly rated. I know you were kinda like still reviewing with quit. Spain is a guy that you talk about nasty. You talk about being at some point in his career. He was one of the top guys in the in built with the situation had with him with with buffalo. And everything like there's a lot of stuff. There's nothing wrong with it. I think that's still of a guy as ready to go ahead and lock it in. I think that other guard xavier. Su'a bill in probably out You you already had your center so now what we talk about like so keep in mind. My priorities still land. You gotta go get the guard or you gotta go. Get the tackle in if you do that. Then to me kanesa will is so he was seen enough. Last night is going to take another dude. They're like what if reach though. Like what if the next president l. No i like the guy at timberg. But i'm seeing different things. They say he might go down. To the end of the first the notre dame they in In like two years would from alabama. Those are the two other tackles that are really really like with. The problem is excuse me. From what i see last night. A just what. I know from joe burrow in our priestess allowed on my livestream. Is that a lot of fans do this. Every year. they get so enamored with one position that they say i need all of that. I just need all of that any of that in. I'm not like in last night. Through that timmy than at line is not good enough to consistently santana's at a time we'd probably be pittsburgh two out of those ten times with that line right. I'm smart enough to know that but also smart enough to know. I just wanna game with my backups salon. In this way out steaming if finley had even on the couple he had rented as he could. Iran out yet different. Things could it did. I'm not so bad on his line. That i feel like i have to everything on the line in last night. Proved that in. Spain's there in what i'm saying is if they went and got a Williams like tackle or something like that. I'm getting out the pig. I'm getting out of the number three. I convince myself like i needed. Get more talent. And i need because this. This team will all of injuries in wash. All these guys on our tweet last night mixing joe girl all these guys tweet in new cj. I said you know we need. I need that upset. Backups and i need depth. And i need bodies any players. There's ready all play like this it. They've all this. And i got bodies and i got all these different things in a position. Like talk about the game from jamaica like you don't even have to go to the line back. You had to drive one linebacker. This letter talking about parsons you will arsons. Hadn't seen enough. I haven't gone avid as far as it goes only looked at highlights from our receiver candidates. I think like a month ago was like outfits are bits Hair looking at different tackles or so. I don't know about that. But i would you. You said you have to keep the more wide open. If pratt's plan like that in. Logan wilson is who i think is in a game. Davis gave him in the scheme. Would i think it is. You're going to be a nickel I'm totally ignoring the linebacker position in the draft. Here's the thing. Here's the dilemma. That we talked about best player available right. This right now is currently. Cbs's is saying the top prospects are so this joint right here. this is it got trevor lawrence. They got panay. Mike parsons is third. So say for instance. You don't get any trade offers for number three people like nah. I don't want any any of those quarterbacks who do you take chase jamora. I don't let me blow this up. Okay there we go there. We go there. We go so zag. See quarterback role did that. Wilson just had a game if people are listening to this right now he just knew for three or four times three fifteen like he's gonna run up. This board just fills going to be a bit. Two teams are going.

"Put a joe burrow in in a position like the ever again. It's just Equation if i drop back fifty times. Jj watt acids Tj what is going to get to me at least twelve out of those fifty times. But if i only got ten times you might can only get me. Twice is simple in the homeland. When you're gonna if you if you thought about your plan into every single started. They had will make his factory getting around his roaming around to the field to get to different plans. Tyler boyd going out was not a good thing but in itself it made them say well as one person that we can throw the football too and we just gotta run it and we gotta do some all. We gotta go. We gotta go read option. We gotta russia. I love the wrinkled as that wouldn't last night. And i think it's a play that's going to be you used for years to come against the steelers yet. Sweet motion coming for right or left. Hand side read option forcing the one linebacker on in to make a decision in now with What's the kim hightower's last night's spend so they're gonna talk about. How bush wasn't there whatever. I don't care bushes there. Whoever's there that one guy that one guy's gotta make a decision in that's gonna be one of the like the same. They run rub routes on us every time in arizona so we actually defended it last night. There's gonna be two or three plays that are in. That's one that they have to rent. Every single on the steelers but from a skin estimated game plan. I really really love the fact that they did some things that they hadn't done before in a said win lose or draw we gotta rentable years. The afc north said this weeks ago. You can't win. Zac taylor abandoned run. I said that you cannot not commit to running the ball in. Afc north because the afc north. The way that you winningest. Division is in the trenches. We got somebody like a myles garrett when you got someone like a tj wa abud depre- stefan suet and stuff like that. You can't drop back in pass because that plays into their hands. That's one of the steelers. They're one of the best pass rushing teams in the nfl. Nice is hard to say that. Now because i did lose. But the pre but they still had c. j. watt. they still have. They still have cam heyward. And so how do you. How do you attack that zim. Sit and like zac. Taylor show you run at you have to. Because if you're dropping back with ryan finley all of those times you're just going to open him up two hits you just gonna allow them to pretty much create turnovers and stuff like that based off of the pressure so the way that they really combated. That was running the ball. And then you also saw guys getting physical. At the line of scrimmage. I think a lot of what was really telling was when offense a lot. I think it was somewhere i finally had to do. A qb sneaker. Something like that like. That's what it takes for you to ground and pound convert that and just make clock game at that point once you can get the clock on your side as all you really have to do. An afc north is come out and hit people be physical Be right up there and do what you have to do to get out of here with a win. So i think like you said was used in game because player to getting mired in who had a bigger impact on karloff. That's the player of the game. My say i'm bill but that's only because of the hit just because of the moment. Nah i think you're talking about. The full game is obviously caught last night. He left the game. But i think like football is about momentum to and when he did that is set the tone for the rest of the game. That's the play it again. So life me. Call larson seeing him do that. He clearly deserves to get paid. Bengals if you're listening to this paid this man there's no reason not to but that's what cost can do. That's what the guy in the afc nor can do. That's what does that's what karl does. That's what miles does a. You need one of those guys in this division. If you plan on doing that so i think like you said in the trenches if they can get that right regardless of who you go against because every furnace divisions good every single one of them. There's no slouches. There's there's no tennessee titans in his division when it comes to that defense alive so i think that's where you win it and then if you could get the better quarterback that can also give you an advantage right. That's how lamar jackson was able to come in. Take this division over a random hand. Lamar which was a wrinkle. That was different from the afc nor quarterbacks that we're used to seeing and they use some of that with philly. Philly's not running quarterback buzz. That was like you know what. I'm gonna use that read option as something to throw them up because if i'm pittsburgh's defensive coordinator i'm not thinking. The last thing. I'm thinking is that you're going to run. Read option with ryan finley at like five miles per hour like nobody saw that coming as so that was that was chance. And that's what we needed to see from zack. in terms of that coaching. And that's what you have to do. I'd never were to believe that. I would ever see the day the zac taylor would out coach mike tomlin. He outcoached mike tomlin in that game. Lulenar ramu we need to give him some credit to what they did. Defensively in this game really helped offense out. I don't if your defense doesn't play like they did last night. I don't think we're in this game. This is one thing. I think as we're bengals fan. Su we're looking at like a lotta people's twenty seven points. I would've never thought it puts late. Let's be honest. The three turnovers class the three that probably been shoulda gave in addition to that like ninety percent of the time. You're just going to win a game. But history is told his dad ninety residents we lose their game. Even turn the ball over the steelers on car if you make a mistake. They're going to capitalize on it and they're going to do it in a big way and they're going to do a lot of times more than that on defense and we did exactly what they would. They would do to us ten deflections last night. I don't think i've ever seen that many deflections on on been raucous. Burger gamble there. philip. Sue i. He didn't get the strat up late late. Let me tell you. Let me tell people this. Jerry phillips or cornerbacks in general are not perfect in a lot of fans in this happened to drink in. I'm great buys would have but this happens a lot. Cornerback in office line are two of the most unforgiving positions. They're the most glaring when something goes wrong in when everything goes right you notice if you miss one bad playing one. Dpi anything like that. The is like texting me tweet. Emilia jackson get him out in various those like like the the the pasa i call in the back of the is was leak but cool cool with whatever but when he did to not panic in some of those situations when the ball is in the air to turn your head around the last claypool of break up on the silent and in the one to two in the game not to panic which a lot of corners have done it or they do in the league every week in a do it in a gift to the steelers every week for him to play like that. It gives me so much confidence in him. Moving forward as the number three..

"We always target down right. We always look at them as that's who we want to go through this and that the steelers haven't done anything in like a whole decade like when you really take and look under the hood and i think sometimes bingles fans will now. I'm just saying in general like they haven't beat anybody. They've lost some bad teams. Like you look for in the playoffs. Like the steelers haven't been close to a championship. They have not been close to champion like when you talk about teams that are competing like the patriots. Steelers had steelers. Look at us is like y'all can't even beat us like we. We mopped the floor child. The steelers really are pretenders have allied the ravens have always been a bigger threat to me. Oh the ravens are likely to me like semi. But i just ate the steelers just because i ate would like what they did to our. Have our past like two thousand five. Two thousand fifteen primarily for young bengals before in our hollywood in know too much about like history is the history but but but this is not what they did is what we could've did. That's why i hate them. Like you know what i'm saying. You know i would assume tour of his late and that was a part of it but they just stop me from doing what i do like last night. They're going to try to tell me about all these injuries and stuff that they have when it got two guys injured or whatever in. It's just like this thing. That i just ate about the stigma behind everything that comes with the steelers in relate the whole time. I was talking about on the broadcast like work. Were we've got twelve thousand. I are like starting like talent. You know like are starting running back is at. The stadium cheering the loudest. Everybody or you know. Like you know it's distillers like the steelers. The steelers pac has different. Like like you said you saw joe mixing get in. This car turned up. Playing corvette corvette practice stadium. I didn't see him at the stadium. He's at the stadium telling people like get your ass out of here like still expanded. Everything is like. Oh when i saw it. I said it reminded me of every game. I've ever been in the last found that we beat them is exactly forbade worker work without said that everybody was sitting there and he's one of us in. It was a new name. But i just said to say like i don't think the steelers understand how much we hate them. But at the end of the day. I want bengals really lock in or would it would take to win and i think part of it is going to win your division into win your division. We learned a couple of different things last night. You must have a pass rush. You must have a passer in has to give like carlos day dominate a football game. Can you imagine if morally of asks was on opposite sides. not to take away from sam hubbard. Who had a very very good game. Who is now laying elke Someone would dj read on inside in his someone of a dunlap light talent at a younger age on the other side like running through villain the waiver in getting running through the chip blocks all game. You wouldn't be able to do that with another league You know ashura on an episode. That was the one glaring thing in people during the conversation. talking about. The steelers will not going anywhere watson. What he's not going anywhere in like you used to either. Because what i saw from last night is just. It's just the changing of the guard or the change. He has to change his game. He's still remember the slang it. He still won't be able to get his confidence back in. Most games in his probably. Never gonna play that bad ever again. But if you put pressure on his asia right now where he cannot sustain that type of pressure in it think about all the money and everything they put behind the office Did not could not do anything. We'll loss last night in his so many lessons that can be learned for last night like on how to attack the division when we talk about fires activity or at least when i talk about fires. Acceler is mainly primarily on the mismanagement of the franchise quarterback once numbering. Zoo is the actual record number. Three is the communication that was latte or the lack thereof so older players throughout the last two years in all the players can't stand his guts him. Winning one game doesn't change that but one thing he did was run the football like i said you gotta do early like win. Lose or draw that game last night. They made a conscious effort the same way that they should did win. Joe burrow was there. You have to try to run the football in that same where they can't run. The football stupid people still translate medicine man. We can't run the football. What did they do a change. It up went into a two at formation came back in the second half they start in started running football because at some point is a mental thing. You have to be able to run it in. if you can't do it did take your Go away and say look. We kept it close we. We compress their the amount of time that they had on and we try to manage the game. That was game plan. And i can lose with that but you lose going to them. Playing into their strengths going back dropping back fifty times right that the number one schramm in in the secondary sector. So what did they do. The bengals throw thirteen fifteen times for years. It doesn't matter when you have a good run game or a run game that they actually eat said that they weren't getting any yards off of that game probably would have been really really close tied up just off the sheer turnovers which is still in which is still in a game even if you don't run the football effectively in a game and that's the one thing that that sarah half the takeaway from this game is say like every single game..

"I'm your host as boogie joined by my co host. Who they say hello world. How do you guys and girls still the night coming up early. Victory last night against the steelers saying man is really crazy. Twenty four hours right. It's been a super crazy. Twenty four hours Definitely with smoking on that juju peck last night for sure It was just like you said roy was. I think we've been released me personally. I think most of us have been kind of on a low vibration for the most part the past couple of weeks right hasn't been. It's been a while since the titans game. We had some things. Go down. But i think that this was the perfect thing to really lift our spirits as far as somebody nation from out of where we came from because we were just at a low but the craziest thing was the fact that we went into a game with low. Expectations didn't really see this. Is something like we kinda about this. Just being embarrassing being something. That would frustrate everyone. And then we get a surprise not only does ryan finley a cincinnati bengals. Do they get a win in. Pbs is like almost innocence. A win that score might not say that but this was like a totally different bengals verse. Steelers game than i think i've ever seen and i think i said earlier like i think von says years we kinda got some of the bullying back and it goes all the way back to highs war hit and keith reversed initial breaking his stuff. I think huber got hit before like. It's always been this thing where stiller's in a sense of trying to bullies and we got somebody back But for the most part they've kinda tried to bully us in like out south dustin punched in the mouth in for a while. It was his mental thing where we could never get past them and so like to me. I didn't have that renewed sense of a possibility us like dominate in the steelers are being competitive with the steelers until the joe burrow era and win. That was taken away with the injury. It was just like man. This is gonna be crazy like the steelers are eleven to coming in life. You know for me. It was like wow what could happen. And the fact that the bengals became the bully in this game like we became the bullying. The steelers look sof like they look the softest that i have ever seen them like. That's why we call them the steelers but they were soft. We hit them like that vom. Bill hit that. Set the tone for the entire game in the bengals just became the bully and like the steelers they just got punched in the mouth in a never did anything after that in it just was like are the planets are lining and i kind of said that during my mom like it's a new. It's a new kind of feeling like so everything that happened. Before the planets align yesterday is out the window and i think that we saw that in that gang. Will we segues from before it gets in my takeaways. Let me actually do think i had to think about this. My wife was asking me about like the bengals in this light for me. I don't even consider rivalry because we haven't won enough. That's perfectly those as my personal goal. Like i absolutely wake up every day in my life like hating the steelers. Like i think. I had a tweet or something like this. Two weeks ago as somebody cutting off on a roll Automatically stills man. Do you think that still is ban. Do they do you think they realize how much they like. Hurt our families or you think they're so that they just think like you know. I think they know i've talked to a lot of interacted with a lot of them to know like they us. They know they know they don't want to out. But like you know Two thousand five versus diversity. Two thousand fifteen. I mean like all the two thousand five hundred. Just those two are totally different. When i talk to this word fan. So it's like this like you know like they're like oh you guys like blew a Immediately go to germany on the fumble and you know stuff like that in in two thousand five. They're like i don't think they think of that. Hit like it will Chemo ban whatever his name is. King juan de never forget that right right so i don't think i mean i don't know so for me it's just like a thing you know where we counsel a game like this in no matter what you know. It's just it's a big deal in. The bengals could lose out every single game. And i think gary only had a great Tweet we say man. You could lose every game but if you like. I'm good to go or you know super bowl and for me. It's not really that. But i thought the win last night just a little bit different because it just gave us some foundational blocks that i think can be used like moving four in such a couple of different things like later on in the in the but for me when i come on. I'll be like we got a win. We got a win. I just people forget sometimes how important it is to just win some games. I think in like a we will come on here and sounds like and i understand wanting to get penny in. I'm going to be wrote me a message. The other day and i didn't want to jinx the message you wrote about penny us man just you know like just or take penny. I would say. Just our luck. We put all our varies in one basket in week. Fall so enamored with penny and then something happens. God forbid something happens to him it. Then we're like back at square one dow will be like a bengals thing like me. Send me over. All goal is like will. What's the one thing that we could control like. We could just win games in find out who is going to be here in more than anything. I think we found. Some blueprint like plays a different ways to attack the aggression of the steelers. If some of the stuff. I was hitting on earlier in the year. I was like bro. You can get them to panic if you do this. This this this in a finally happened and it was so crazy that it happened that way. So i'm excited about steelers' win but you'll find out to. Ravens Measure Up to Great Apes on Intelligence

"Ravens are known for their exceptional intelligence. In fact there are sometimes referred to as flying primates. We knew they are very smart but nobody ever really tested this using a big and comprehensive test battery which also then really enabled us to say is the Performance similar to those of great apes or not simona. Pika is a cognitive scientist at the university of osnabruck in germany. She and her colleagues wanted to see how ravens would measure up primates across a wide array of tasks so they subjected eight ravens. To something called the primate cognition test battery. It's a series of thirty three different tasks. Designed to assess various aspects of intelligence among primates. For example one test is a game of cups. You may have seen it affair. He put an object under one of three cups. Move the cups around. And then guess which cup. The objects under other tasks tested the ravens ability to determine cause and effect or to understand different quantities. Peanuts were popular test item to keep the birds motivated overall. The researchers found that four month old ravens which you might think of as teenage ravens did just as well on most tasks as adult chimps and orangutans except on tests of spatial skills. Net was a little bit surprising for us but we use attests better. Which was designed to test primate cognition and these tasks which may make sense for human children may be great apes right now. We use this for a species which is very different. They are flying. they have speaks they. Communicate was a beacon. That don't have hands whatever so i would say. Yeah that may be the past. We used to test. The spatial skills could be improved. The results appear in the journal. Scientific reports kaley swift behavioral ecologist. Who studies crows and other corvettes at the university of washington. She says she was impressed by the results. In how comprehensive the tests were but says it can be hard to assess intelligence by comparing across species. I'd like to see a sort of shift in our language from comparing ravens to primates like calling them flying primates to rethinking like how we scale animals and not putting them on such a linear scale. Right we're like wow birds are smart as apes. It's amazing who would have thought it's like well. There's just a bunch of different release meeting all day. Their natural history informs different aspects of their physical and social cognition in like. It's much less linear than the narrative. We often tell. Intelligence she says is much more complex and variable and we think think.

"Once again. Alex bowman welcome back to the program. Yeah thanks for having me all right over your shoulder here. It smelling pretty good. It's it's looking pretty good You got in and out burger there for lunch yet. Not for me for the guys. Yeah my my trainer would kill me. he doesn't know that i had a double double animal style fries and a chocolate shake yesterday when i landed. So we're just not going to tell them that but but today since odds are he's going to walk in here Not gonna eat that. Well you know this is broadcast and online and so he might find out some other way. Yeah we'll just we'll just send it and hope hope he doesn't all right. I noticed that they tony. You had like an all white fire suit. How do you keep that thing clean. You don't yeah that was That's tough valvoline. paint scheme. looks so good firesuits. Look really good I think all white looks really good. It's just so hard to keep playing I think they have a couple of primaries this year so only got to make them last a couple of races but It is tough there destroyed after one race They wanted me to do that for chili bowl. And i said no way Cj who drives my car he he got an all white suit for chile will and it was destroyed after after practice. Pretty much so It is as tough for sure. The first thing. I thought of as that would not work in the days of thunder days. No for sure stuff used to get the pair used to move through the cars. So much more i mean. The cars were cooler inside because of it. Actually but i mean those guys would get so dirty back in the day. I just because there was so much more moving air and everything was sealed up how it is now. But now they're like They're sealed up pretty tight. Except for when i went through the grass i had grass everywhere so That firesuits probably half green at this point. But that's all right. Put mountain dew on that part of it. Yeah yeah if if they wanted to be on eighty eight car for sure. We're halfway there. You did a panting of matt benedetto. I saw it online. You can't get away from it but props to him. He kept the interview going yeah. He's not a very shy human being so it's one of those things we mess with each other. A lot and i did not continue the interview. I was very distracted by it. What happened and what was going on. So that was my way of getting him back so i'm really not looking forward to what comes next knowing him but i'm sure it'll be something i was gonna ask you. Expect retaliation probably It's fun to make fun of matt. you know. He drives for that other manufacturer. But he's still just went and bought a another corvette so We know he's at least got good taste and yeah he's he he just bought another is the are one. But you know. I saw the other day. And you know how corvettes have four taillights he. He had somebody take the tail lights out to like put tent on them. And like put different spoiler on the car. And they didn't tighten the bolts out one of the bolts up and one of the tail lights fell out going down the road. So that's embarrassment. He's got good taste in cars but yeah it's a little bit nursing. What what are you driving personally. No one of those. Yeah so he's actually copying me. He's got the same cars me now. He's he was going to buy the same wheels that i had on my car so i just sold him my wheels about something different. So we weren't matching but yeah you should go ask him about it because it's literally he's copying me. That's that's definitely interesting. Go out there and race. Yeah mine still going to be mine. Still gonna be faster though. So i mean it's obviously got the better driver so it's all driver of course nothing under the hood for sure now. Last time we spoke you were still working out the intricacies of assigned seating at movie theaters. Is there anything else technology wiser in two thousand twenty. That's baffling you I don't think there's been anything yet. I'm sure. I'm sure there will be that movie. Theater incident was largely embarrassing. Pretty sure i'm never going on a date ever again. After that that was that was a struggle But yeah nothing yet. I feel like something will definitely pop up and confuse the heck out of me and all embarrassed myself with it but nothing yet. Truth be told seventeen years. I've been doing this. This is the first time using my phone for notes. I used to use paper mainly because it was lighter. So i'm still getting into the tech stuff too. Yeah yeah there you go. I mean yeah. It's forever changing. Who would think that you have assigned seats at a movie theater. That there's twelve people and it just didn't make any sense. If i were just gone gone up one more row. Adam and just fine definitely definitely definitely all right so you got a bunch of sponsorships onboard this year. How do you keep track of them. All highest kelsey. What's on the car this week Yeah figure out what shirts to bring. And and i mean it's it's written on my chest on the firesuits so i guess i could just look down and figure it out but no it's it's been really cool to have some new partners on board obviously We have this week and chevy goods dot com and everybody. That's going to be out for the rest of the year. Really excited about all that so It'll be neat. I think the black and gold car looks really cool so looking forward to seeing that on the race track. Lamar looks good to its new paint scheme for them so it only looks a little bit similar to the valvoline paint scheme. Just a little bit. But but that's all right. That's that's that's a good luck to you once you're inside it kind of looks the same right. Yeah yeah you can't see it from From where i sit. So i'm here for it. Do you ever bring the wrong stuff to the track. Not recently so when i was driving for junior motorsports We had a couple of different sponsors on the car throughout the year. We went somewhere in. Dave ellen's was the crew chief and really all the sponsors were the same color scheme but he wore the wrong shirt like the race day shirt. He warned completely wrong. One week kelsey did my pr over there. as well. and i thought she was gonna kill him so It was it was a good day for sure with sports. Exploding ni- racing and that's something that you're interested in and doing. Yeah william started his own team starts. I started calling him. Mr be since he's got this big time. I racing team but I wanna talk to him next time. I'm gonna ask him well. How does that work. I mean nothing physical yeah he. He's spent some money on it so I don't know. That's i keep myself really busy with other things and i'm kinda maxed out at the moment. I think it's really neat. I play on. Ira seeing a little bit more to to play around and then taking that super seriously. Is it something you see yourself doing. After nascar maybe retiring you're eighty years old. You're sitting in your living room and you're still raising all that's gonna be so different when i'm eighty years old. Can you imagine what sim racing is going to become at that point Maybe i don't know all probably be at a dirt track somewhere though

What crows teach us about death with Kaeli Swift

"Whether we want to or not human spend a great deal of time considering death. And it's possible we've been doing. So since shortly after Homo Sapiens, I began roaming the landscape. After all the first intentional human burial is thought to have occurred around one hundred thousand years ago. What might those early people have been thinking? As they took the time to dig into the earth deposit, the body and carefully covered up again. Were they trying to protect it from scavengers or stymie spread of disease? Were they trying to honor the deceased or did they just not want to have to look at a dead body? Without the advent of a time machine. We may never know for sure what those early people were thanking. But one thing we do know is that humans are far from alone in our attention towards the dead. Like people some animals including the corvettes, the family of birds that houses the crows. Ravens Magpies Jays also seemed to pay special attention to their dead. In fact, the rituals of corvettes made acted as the inspiration for own. After all, it was the raven that God sent down to teach Kane how to bury his slain brother able. But despite the clear recognition by early people that other animals attend to their dead, it's only fairly recently that science has really turned its attention towards this phenomenon. In fact, formal name for this field comparative Anthology. First introduced until twenty sixteen. In this growing field, we are beginning to appreciate what a rich place the natural world is with respect to how other animals interact with their dead, and it's in this growing body of knowledge at that time machine to our early ancestors might be possible. So what are we learning in this growing field? Well right now, we can split our understanding into two main groups. In the first, we have animals that display stereotyped predictable behaviors towards their dead and for whom much of what we understand about them comes from experimental studies. This group includes things like social insects, bees, ants, and termites, and for all of these animals colony hygiene is of critical importance and so as a result, these animals display rigorous undertaking behaviors in response to corpses. For example, they may physically remove carcasses from the colony they may consume them. They may even construct tombs. We see similar hygiene driven responses in some colony living mammals rats, for example, will reliably Berry cage mates that have been dead for forty eight hours. In our other group, we have animals that display more variable, perhaps more charismatic behaviors and for whom much of what we understand about them comes from anecdotes by scientists or other observers. This is the animals whose death behaviors I suspect might be more familiar to folks. It includes organisms like elephants which are well known for their attendance to their dead even in popular culture. In fact, they're even known to be attracted to the bones of their deceased. It also includes animals like primates which display a wide variety of behaviors around their dead from grooming them to. Prolonged attention towards them guarding them even the transportation of dead infants and that's actually behavior we've seen in the number of animals like the dolphins. For example, you may remember the story of Taleh, the ORCA in the resident J. pod in the puget sound who during the summer of two thousand eighteen carried her dead calf for an unprecedented seventeen days. Now a story like that is both heartbreaking and fascinating, but it offers far more questions than it does answers for example, why did Kerry her calf for such a long period of time. who she just that stricken with grief. Wishy more confused by her unresponsive infant. Or is this behavior just less rare in orcas than we currently understand it to be

Yates was so remarkable that they didn't remember him at all. Yates was a decorated army helicopter. Pilot he was a father to five children. He enjoyed working with his cars which included his beloved white corvette. He lived a quiet unassuming life or so everyone thought. It soon became clear that despite Roberts mild matter nature he had a sinister side from nineteen seventy five until nine hundred ninety eight. He murdered at least seventeen people around Washington state. Soon this unassuming average Joe became spokane's most Torius resident. "The year was nineteen ninety. Carol alight was terrified the security alarms at their South Jersey home bled while the family rottweilers barked for Roche. Ously worse yet. She swore she could see armed men hiding in the woods from the window. She called her husband. John in a panic. Twenty eight year old. John Alight the right hand man of John Gotti. Junior was away from the house when he received the call without so much as a second thought. He ditched his friends and hopped into his corvette. As a lights raced home. He wanted which of his many enemies could be off to him that night. The most likely seemed Tommy. Karate patera earlier that year karate had killed one of a lights friends over a twenty thousand dollar dispute. Rumor around town was that a light was next on his list when I got home. He snuck in from the back and grabbed a revolver and an Uzi submachine gun. He slipped into the dark woods and lurked toward the men waiting to ambush him instead. A light took them by surprise unloading the Uzi like an eighties. Action Star and after a brief firefight. The attackers fled. It was too dark to see that night but the next morning a light. Check the woods to see if anyone had been killed though. He didn't find any bodies he did. See plenty of blood. He knew a message had been sent a few days later a lights boss. John Gotti called a light to a sit down with Tommy Karate. Godley declared that their feud was over. No more fighting when the meeting finished on the two men had its world cars. A light turned and said to Tomi. Nothing settled I'm still GONNA kill Ya.

"Credit cards episodes. Yeah really is I just I just I feel like the power is not there. Yeah well look at the Law Ferrari McLaren McLaren m one or something and those habit that true but just just leave for that price point electrified and car. And keep you that performance I would mandate a higher. I can't help it's just it's just like the Instinctual response to like Kinda screw face up and go now. What are they doing because has had the same thought when they talk about electrifying The Mustang were any other performance car that I've known from the past that you know like like what are they. What are they gonNA do? Because every time I'll put it real simple just anything with batteries in it has always let me down every time and I don't anticipate any different with with cars right. Screw everything has let me down. I mean your phone radio controlled toys a remote controls electric cars Remote controls in your for your television. You're right watch battery INS STUPID LAPTOP Right now. Yeah well we're recording a matter of fact but every time anything relies on battery power is always let me down through my whole life and I feel like maybe. That's something something that you know I i. There's just something that That prevents me from fully trusting that as a viable technology. I know that the there's a lot of research and and of course billions of dollars spent to To prove me otherwise you know that. It's it's working working but I just get that gut reaction and and to say that you're going to create a hybrid electric Corvette I don't know I just is to have a hard time with that. I'll I'll I'll ease into it macy. Yeah I'll have to again. This is another full show. We can talk about if performance and hybrid hybrid. electrics if you want to. We can but for sure. We're going to have another show about MID engine design cars. Because as you said Ben we do need to do an update on it. There's a lot more out there available now. We hadn't not that we had a limited supply to talk about before but now they're even more than we can discuss With that you heard it here first. GM The If you do decide to lend some corvettes to Scott hurt myself make sure you don't give Scott and electric because it doesn't sound like he's going to have it begging a bit. Dr One corvettes. I've been I've been on this camping. I've I've I've I've this is the honest truth since last summer. I've been asking my wife if I can make a large you know significant withdrawal from our savings. In order to buy one of these cars I would buy one of these cars brand new. This is brand new car jacked about this car. This car is is amazing. Amazing I really. I really am excited about at the beginning of the show. I'm excited full circle. Really M Twenty Twenty Corvette and you you know maybe that will fade a little bit here in the near future but man I just. It's such a cool vehicle it really is also even though I know. It's not the same thing. Think about how much the price on on a c seven is GonNa drop by twenty twenty one. How Ya and I love those too? You know what I mean. Yeah Yeah I think it's it's a fantastic design and You know okay. Let's we can't keep adding more but I would. I would like to know this from from you and from our listeners Maybe this is the final question I don't know but What's your gut feeling on this to? Every time they release a new corvette I feel like the it immediately dates the previous version of corvette like the when they release the C seven. The see slicks looked pretty old to me And and all the way going all the way back and there are other models that you know I don't know he's still look like they're they're not great. I if some that I would still cherish power to get one of course but There's a few years in there that I just don't really like personally But what do you think about the c seven corvette but now that you've seen the C eight like would you go back and buy a c seven knowing that you could get associated with the you know dramatically different appearance and it does look like it's the old corvette orphan now right even though still a task car looks beautiful in my opinion. Yeah I don't know I just looking at it. I was thinking. How quickly does this date eight everything else before it and it wasn't around that long see seven is around for a very short amount of time just a few years? I don't think we may be dated. But I I don't think I would feel bad about it because it's already It's already such a great vehicle. For what what it does the a a I. Don't you think it holds up. I think it holds all say that I think it holds up now. Also consider that you know if if you take care of those cars in in a few years time depending on how hard you ride them You'll end up with legitimately classic car. That's the thing that kills me. You know like with the last time I mentioned the Monte Carlo on air for a while then I was in those conversations with myself where I thought you know I just just got to keep it running. Keep it going until Until I can get till I can get the the old school license plate that means. I don't have to do a missions anymore. Golden and then you realize it's still several years still a while away. So I'm I'm yeah. Yeah well you can get rid of a c seven just because see is out. Yeah but no. I wouldn't say you get rid of it. I mean when you see it on the road. Now you're gonNA think well that's the old corvette I'll I'm waiting to see the new one bill so impressed though into the seven still beautiful car to me. Yeah yeah and I can't believe you're GONNA buy a C eight. Let's not spread a rumor here but I'm but I. Oh man if I if I just had that that extra cash laying around you know if I did I think that at this moment that would be the one that get should our Powell and fearlessly or Scott Benjamin purchase a twenty twenty corvette. "I I think there's a like a third party service where you can say okay. I want a performance car high-end luxury vehicle of some sort and I only learned that people are doing this because I talked to a guy who really really did by God he did it. That crazy son of a gun. He put down his order. Are For one of those cyber trucks. One of the Tesla. Cyber trucks kidding yeah. That's an face I may dude. Are you serious. Which one are you gonNA get? You know we talked about it and then partway through he. He correct he said. Oh you know I'm not GonNa some daily driver no I'm GONNA put it up on this thing thing and I'm going to get the camping package and then people are going to pay the rent it to go camping and I thought well that's a what a cool idea. That's a lot of confidence. He is in. Your insurance premiums are going to be for something like that or like offering a service like this. No no people do it with boats a lot. Yeah sure you own a fleet of boats or cars or just one. Yeah Yeah an interesting idea. I mean it's definitely a way to support support your growing corvette habit. You know I feel like You know we're we're nearing the end here. There's there's just there's a lot to talk about with this new corvette a lot of it is is just really kind of gut feeling stuff opinions and you know because right now we haven't really got any kind of concrete V.. Look at or get hands on with right now. We're not one of those Automotive magazines that you know the hand the keys over to and allow them to drive around for a week. It would be great if they did wouldn't it but but we're not those guys yet soil. I been doing this like eleven years right. Yeah another another eleven fifteen more years whatever and maybe it will be one one thing though. I do have to add the rumors about a possible. Hybrid plug in or electric model. Continue to this day and people are getting a little will answer you about it on January eighth so literally yesterday as we record this. There was a little bit of excitement because a stingray was spied testing with a cable hanging out the hood so people freaked out and they thought how they're secretly testing the electric one but Chevy reached back out and said it was a very early test mule for the twenty twenty and that the orange cable they saw together Gal Front Hood was actually A way to ease access to the twelve volt battery now. Okay so it's like yeah it's not Super Ver- we're not super advanced and being top secret about it is. This is how we jump the cars an extension cable from Home Depot. Right exactly I was GONNA GONNA guess. Okay this is Detroit right the likely that we're seeing this This car right right and driving around. 'cause that's where the test all these things and they get to see all this stuff right early we wait earlier than us. But it's probably probably camouflaged and I was thinking all right that's somebody who just got in and accidentally shut you know their phone charge record in the door. Yeah and everybody's like Oh that's the electric version but that was an orange courts to guy the hood. That would be something that would draw attention. I would guess the interesting though. I wonder you know. Be funny if it was like bands. Detroit January's that's a block heater. The big diesel. Like they can't park it inside at GM right yet. They're straight out of garage space. have any space at all so yeah I think the reason. These rumors are gaining so much power and so many people have so have their eyes on it is because after the car was debuted back in in July. Two Thousand Nineteen Someone on the corvette team said Hey. We might electric we might try to electrify To doubt some sort of electrification of this vehicle at some point. But that's all they said where I would slap them knock it off. Ah No. I wouldn't have done that but But Oh man this is as a.

Yes go on there and I you know of course Yes I had to pretend that I'm really interested in buying one of these and so that I could get some realistic answers right and I said you know I'm really interested in the new corporate which I am a lot of this. This is not made up. I guess the fact that I was WANNA buy one I I do WANNA buy one. I don't know if I will right but but I pretended to be a an interested party. The and I talked to someone on the other end Chad. With someone named Kerry now who knows carries a real person or not but robot but the answers were very real. So I'll I'll leave even with that very human answers but I said that I'm interested in the two thousand twenty corvette and the In the production schedule when their plan to begin production. Because I'd heard that the same thing is you that the strike had pushed production back the UAW strike. Yeah it was. It was like the longest strike in fifty years or something like that. It was a long strike ended finally only the end of October of last year and really it really bumped back. Production is brand new vehicle which is something. GM didn't need at this time. Of course in fact I'll tell tell you this right now. I found a number about this strike. It said that You know due to the The extent of it how long this lasted. GM as a company lost two billion in dollars in production during that strike. And you might think well okay. The the workers really show them. Who's boss you know? They got everything they wanted. Well it turns out. They didn't necessarily come out much much. Better either They've got a couple of benefits. I guess this whole thing. They didn't exactly win. It wasn't a big win. They also ended up losing a billion dollars in wages during during that time. So kind of a a lose lose for both parties involved but I think they were just happy when it was over. I know fortunate timing as well so I so I asked when you know when does is this When is this corvette production scheduled to begin because I thought it was January? But it looks like it's going to begin in February or mid February and I think they're starting to begin. Maybe early Lisa could also be pushed back to early second quarter so it could go the latest that And they said that startup from that time all the way till then you'll see the cars on dealer. Lots is going to be approximately six to eight weeks but you know. Of course that time can vary and they're going to launch. I think with the coupe and then they're going to begin the convertible production and just after that. So it's going to be a little while before you see them on dealer lots because I've been really anxious to go and check one out on a dealer Dealer property just to go see one. I know that can can be a little awkward for some people to go into a dealer and you know have to kind of play the game you know act interested or you know they might know that you're just there to kick the tires but yeah it's fun either way. I I like doing that and I did get a couple of answers to. I was looking for specific information if they were gonNA continue some of the The trends of the past some of the things that they had done at the Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky where they alighted commended ticket factory. Tour Watch your car your specific car being built and you'll final assembly and then you get to drive it away that kind of thing photo op all that it and They said that that unfortunately right now and I think this might be because of the strike. They are not going to allow that at least for the foreseeable future they might change. Is that in the near future but as of right now know factory tours no factory assembly experience. You know you can't go help build the engine or any of that stuff couldn't have passed so so models so is kind of interesting to get to talk to the corvette concierge for a bit and and get the straight scoop on things and IT'S A. It's a great tool to use if you ever WanNa to do something like that for any vehicle. There's plenty of answers out there for everyone. Did you go into an eat. Nuts and bolts under the hood. Stuff I did. Not and that's that's what I think you're probably probably GONNA be able to To shine some light on here because I don't have a whole lot of facts and figures on this other than just the standard quick stuff like the stuff that everybody reads in the You know the first three or four bullet points of the story right right stuff. Like of course it's zero to sixty two point eight who fast. That's what I think. That's one of the the most important stats that people want to feel like it is. That's a that's so quick. I mean that's A. This is a big car. It's it's long low and wide and the big vehicle two two point eight seconds that's it's GonNa feel awful fast like like rocket sled fast and a lot of the So there are three there are three different iterations as you can get different builds that they have listed and one thing that I thought was interesting. Was that the the initial official. Build the one lt or that you know the lower end the emphasis really From Chevy side is on how light that that vehicle is like it. They know that there is a huge demographic of people who corvette fans who are probably probably leaving grew up around them and then later bought their own. We're very excited about this. But they're excited for the old school kind of corvette which was relatively elite few frills and it was about being able to drive like a bat out of heck. Since we're a family show was interesting about the zero to sixty number is that it's I mean. I don't think it was the base model. Maybe sports package or something not like a z are one or anything. It's fairly entry level car. You up this now. We're GONNA go through some of the The upgrades and you know what you can do. The pricing and all that and just a minute but it went one-step there's something called the Z fifty one package and that is the performance package. It costs a lot more We'll talk about what gets you. I guess in the end. But here's the other the thing you said there are three versions of this right so you get to the top version. There's the one one t right. Yeah the LT stingray TRIMs. Lt One lt too. I mistakenly had them transposed. But yes so there's trim options but then there's the Lt three also right. Yeah which gives you even more of the same. I'm really the engine stays the same. The engine stays the same and they're a that higher package. The higher trim package. It's more on an AH oddly enough. Of course everything from the first two package bills but then it. It has this emphasis on making the interior of the corvette nicer. Her which aren't the corvettes traditionally aren't they known for not having the best interior not. Yeah yes and no. I think I've really tried improve that in the past right. I mean. I'm sure it's like that you feel like there's a lot of older buyers to this vehicle because it's going to get in price. It's going to be a lot of people they're the older. They're gonNA want a few more comforts. It's going to be you know something but but at the same time they want that you know that killer performance and and why I got kind of animated over here when you started talking about this is because you're talking about how it's late weight and it's sort of a no frills version if you go with the base version that they were thrown out there for what fifty nine nine ninety five sixty right comparatively inexpensive and you're talking about a hundred thousand two hundred thousand dollars variance variance. When you compare it against what would it can compete against? But when you go from the The Lt one to the Lt three is what I found really remarkable. You're talking talking about just a fraction of a second difference in zero to sixty time in fact the performance package when you start adding spoilers in some of the other accessories. Yeah it's a tiny bit slower than the base version of the same vehicle that you pay less for but you get all the appearance packages all the benefits of like cooling and breaking and all that other stuff that will will talk about but And then you go up to the Lt Three. Think between Lt one and lt three you're talking about just again like a tenth of a second from zero to sixty faster for you know the top version versus the lowest version which is not going to be really felt a whole lot autumn. And we are talking about two point eight seconds as quick But they have the exact same quarter mile speed. So it's not like you're really gaining any top speed or anything like that so if you're going to just just purely purely for speed in this car and you don't really care about You don't care about the handling characteristics of it because that's added later with sure you know performance Liuhua will talk about them there. There's a really interesting Chassis work on here too but if you just want a flat out fast car for the price of their offering which not a lot of people are going to buy. You can still get that for that for that base price it can is something that's definitely accessible. Which I thought was pretty exciting? You know for sure not very often that you know the performances match match so closely between the low the low end vehicle and the top envy. That's a good point you know and I think it's it's also pretty. Well thought out the way that the you can tell Chevy was Chevy probably spent some intense research time figuring out which customers would want. What because I I think? Maybe I'm a little more optimistic. I think there's a ton of people out there who will say a car like this for sixty grand. You know what I mean and true. Maybe some of those people will say well. The kids are finally away at college right. And now I've got a little more time and A little more capital play around with you know so I I can see so many kitchen kitchen table. Conversations were some family is like all right. kids are gone. Or maybe I just retired and years ago you. You promised that I could get whatever car wanted after that. You know what I mean like I I could see that happening for sure and you know sixty thousand might be kind of your upper limit to you. Might've if we don't want it to sedan it was going to be fifty five thousand anyway or fifty thousand and This is a bump up sure and it's a sports car versus sedan. That kind of thing you know I mean. There's a lot of considerations iterations to to to make some concessions to make as well sure I if you're moving to a sports car from you know a family vehicle but Still you're right. It could be a very exciting move for somebody for a relatively low injury price. That gets you right in the In the performance bracket with other supercars so as as I said earlier you know now this is something remarkable vehicle really. I mean when you when you really if you go online. You really look at what they've included in this package included in this deal and the the the The redesign has been done because every single part of this car has been gone over. It's all new and they've got some this is like a is gotta be a marketing thing. They say there's there's one carryover part from the previous model Milo Corvette no one knows what the one part is and I feel like it's just one of those things that you know is meant to garner attention. Listen you know. There's just something that people love to say and I to me. This is an all new car really. That doesn't make it a bad thing. I I saw the same thing. You're talking about with the one component being carried over but I also wasn't able to nail down what it was exactly no. I don't think anyone ever will probably unless you know someone leaks at the top and maybe that'll be you know later like oh it's this emblem are whatever it has this lug nut it's the carpet carpet's carpet really. It really does though. Doesn't it feel lake. There was some meeting where there was a brilliant engineer describing this and they said one that one throwaway line and then somebody in their sales or marketing was like like I remember that one sentence and someone said Oh really what. Specific component wasn't and they're laying digest. Remember that part of the sentence. It's right I can't tell you tell people full of it. Yeah but yes so. It's it is true and I think for that reason. You know motor trend. Does the research search. I know that they're not perfect. But I think that affordability to get into that supercar kind of bracket I think that is one of the primary factors factors making this the motor trend car of the year. They've had some weird choices in the past and then sometimes they've chosen things because of what they see he is the the future potential of it instead of what it's actually done. So like the Tesla Model S for instance was the twenty thirteen car of the year. Right and Tesla again has no shortage of criticism right turn and honestly rightly so in some degrees but I see the logic of motor. Your trend's going toward this. Honestly I spent some time looking at one..

"This new corvette Kinda reminds me of the spirit behind hind the original in the way that it wanted to be kind of like this new thing this innovative thing than other companies looked at and said WHOA. We WanNA WE WANNA make car like that. This particular car may start a trend with companies looking to make kind of a low cost supercar or at least a lot of new people can get in to kind of a neat concept low cost. He just said it. That's one of the key points here that we talk about today and I. I don't know if we want to jump into this right now. Our maybe we can wait you you tell me and we can do later. Low cost doesn't mean lacking in features and performance and design standards. And all that. I mean. That's a great looking car. Yeah I would also say low. Cost is a comparative statement. True you know what I every time. A new used. Whatever right I feel? You have to Categorize that even if you're talking about buying a new pair of socks or something so we're provoke notoriously cheap with stuff like that right so what about What about this? What if we talk a little bit about the before before we get to the price before you get to brass tacks Would if we talk a little bit about just some of the specs A little bit about how this came out because one thing listeners I need to know And people who already preordered a corvette very well aware of this Production on the vehicle actually got pushed back to January. Very right the a little bit later. Maybe a little bit of insight Info Joe Garnered yesterday. I can tell you about you. Want to tell you about right now. WH- yeah I went online and went to corvette Because it'd be Chevy DOT COM OR CORVETTE DOT COM but I ended up chatting with the Corvettes person on the other end. You know 'cause you WANNA chat with GM about the new corvette. I said why not. I've got some questions. I'll just do this. You can still get that for that for that base price it can is something that's definitely accessible..

Is that something you're buying from a dealer you buy it from a friend you buy from craigslist. What a I'm buying a used With I I found it with the help of a A third party but the the purchase itself is directing. So I've checked out the car and I literally tomorrow all I'm doing is like taking possession of it. Well color is black black. Okay black on the outside. And it's you that's another thing with the cars as little worry gain 2017 model because the color is kind of the last thing I care about. Yeah engine that works. Louis says this has sixty K.. On it but I got a good deal and I was just very happy that I didn't get stuck with you. Know like a cornflower yellow or would you. They've all these fancy car paint names like you know absent minded vermillion or whatever. I don't get it but yeah I got just a regular a black Ford escape because they gotta do some hauling road trips ahead of me and so I I wanted to get Just a little beater pickup truck but like we talked about before. We're talking about the ranger. It's tough to get the the kind of pick-up truck would want you know. No disrespect to an F.. One fifty but I don't needs something like that little manual transmission do Cedar Parking Lot which is very difficult. The nothing funny I I mean I don't know why as to color I mean. That's the last thing that you should be concerned with probably just like a prank you in the parking lot if I see right do something this thinking because I actually went through some of the old research that we had done on the the INS and outs of buying a car. What you should know and what you should avoid what you should look for Cetera Hell yeah well. In a lot of people here in the audience today have war stories and one of the things that we had said in the past. The I think maybe some people weren't on board with was that I like you know know about you will see if you're on board with us. I am very much against Buying a brand new car. Oh Yeah I just. It's just not for me. I know it's for some people but it's not for me on what about you Kurt. I'm not completely against it. Really all right so you buy a new car and it's GonNa last you for maybe four or five years. I mean depending on how much you drive but years trouble-free maybe more Miki at two hundred thousand miles on pretty much any any car nowadays I'm not totally against it. So you see some security in it if you get used to make car payment every month. It's not too that's the one thing that's the one thing 'cause I did get it like through third parties so I do have a car note again. Yeah it's just it's tough to stomach but oh you know what you've got that reliability you've got You know the the the solid feel again of a car underneath you because I know what it's like to go from an older vehicle to newer vehicle and I'm I'm back to the position now by the way where mind is feeling older you know. It's a little more sloppy. It's not quite as it was. Yeah it's just tough to explain unless you're in the seat experience in it but a new car just has that correct feeling right feeling to it and something new to you I mean going from what year Two Thousand Four. Yeah Yeah Two Actually two thousand Two thousand six hundred sixty one thousand six hundred twenty seventeen almost ten years with many many miles on it. I'm sure it's probably just the more solid feeling vehicle underneath you. It's going to be nice. I'm excited about hearing about whatever you intend to do with this. You know honestly guys the fact that it might start it every time that I wanted to start flowing me away. You know but I I bring this up. I bring this up. I know there's a very long tangent but he bring this up because it had me thinking about new cars and you know how it is whenever you're going to buy an automobile I can't speak for everyone but for me. A good seventy percent of my time overall is just window shopping through one format or another and that seventy percent I I would say easily. Twenty to thirty percent of that is me taken deep dives into cars that I will probably never buy you know like I. I one time saw a ninety indy. Three Rolls Royce that had an ungodly number of miles and was just like barely affordable to the point where I thought maybe it was an estate sale from like a a criminal in the Atlanta area or something because it was not a vehicle. It's been rough but one of the things that the the three of us have been talking about for a little while now off air in different conversations is the idea of getting the classic car you know what I mean. And so that's why today's episode is about the Chevy Corvette. Oh yes that's the car. We've talked about a few times in the past. Of course I have to bring this up and you know I think we've talked about corvettes and many many times so I'll just leave it at this. We would. You say we're veterans. I would see all Aww Shit. Okay all right. We've talked about for sure in full episodes. I know we've talked about the Remember the old. Vh One corvette giveaway that they did. Oh yeah on. Ed discovered them years later after an artist's own them in and left them abandoned in a parking lot. You know he painted some of them as a travis. It was really a mess. I think I I think there's some work underway to restore that full collection now but anyways it was like thirty six corvettes that were given to one winner back in one thousand nine hundred nine. If you have interest in that you know check out the car stuff archives. The other one that I know for sure we did about corvette was the The switch over to to the C seven model which is the twenty four team model. These between fourteen model year we did in twenty thirteen You know just ahead of time and And that's kind of something similar to what we're doing now only Now we're going to be talking about a completely completely different animal right. This is something that people have been been talking about really. I mean if you want to really get down to it here. I guess people have been talking about this for fifty one years. Here's finally finally people are getting. You know the corvette not everybody but some people are getting the corvettes that they've been asking for that entire time pretty exciting forward with the future right. The Corvette is already the twenty twenty motor trend car of the year. It's we're not done with January. Yeah and what we are. I checked into this. Yeah we're about three visit just bad timing on our part I suppose but I mean this happens right all right as as of the recording of this episode. I know this will change by the time the episode airs but it is in the running It's in the top three for the North American car of the year as well and and corvette has one in the past. You know they've been. I think at least two other years when corvette is one. I believe back near that we talked about it in two thousand fourteen. Twenty Thirteen That one did win North North America. Car of the year So you know. It's not unheard of that. This one might be the car the year by the time this episode airs. But this twenty twenty corvette is really really something to behold. I mean. It's it's to me. I think it was a beautiful car. I I really like it. I mean we can talk about it. You know what we think about it. I suppose if you think it here's or it it It holds two corvettes lasting image. I guess the you know the historic image of the Corvette and what we see corvette I think a lot of people have felt that it so dramatically deviates from that that you know it doesn't hold true for the purest. You know the People WanNa see the long front end In the rear wheel drive of course but you're you're kind of slung way back in the. Yeah in the chassis up seats. You know what I mean. It's it's it's just a different Different looking car all around around. I mean the silhouette is completely different than it was before and I don't think that's a bad thing..
