"I'm Sean Kelly. Cal Nunes is our spotter tonight. Bobby Paellas are statistician. Two of the backfield pistol here. That second backer is actually a tight end. That is Eric all have seen this formation. Already. They'll send a single receiver to each side, second and eight officially from the Michigan 35 Yard line. Step a man in motion. That's Roman Wilson, and I'll Hand it off and coming around the right side looked good at the start, It will be shy the first down marker. That was, I guess the first bit of shiftiness we've had tonight. Flag down game of seven on the carry for Roman Wilson. Cameron Williams defensively on the stop for Washington. We'll see how this plays out. As the officials are conferring. The flag was well away from the place so personal foul illegal, low block. Okay, offense number six. Being yard penalty from the end of the run second out, they're really cracking down on low blocks outside of the box. Now there's a lot of very specific rules on when you can low block and You really can never low block from outside coming in, and in fact, it's It's rare that you're going to see legal block low blocks really on the perimeter anymore. So that's what they got there, and it was well away from the play really didn't need to do at that time. Before the receiver on the wide receiver Cornelius Johnson. Coram's come back in and running back second down after the penalty in 16 for Michigan, McNamara and the shot cut two left one right off the right hash takes the snap. Hands it off. Forum running right side has good yardage to the 33 yard line. Never stopped turning his legs. Big game of six and Coram's now over 100 yards rushing for Michigan. Jim Harbaugh is 28 1 as the head coach here when he has 100 yard rusher. We've seen a lot of running tonight on third down long. Let's see if they have confidence in Matt Maher or not. We'll find out here today. Let him throw the ball. 3rd.

"You got a gambling problem. They've got that number free to call or text 1 805 to 2 47 105 to 2. 4700 that is the William Hill Pro football contest, and we talked about the college one as well. And that's the one that I'm in and did a bunch of contests around town and super conscious will be when I get in. Got into circa million, and you know a bunch of good contests around town. So you want to make sure you get down on all those contest this week. Golden Nugget gotten that one as well. That psychology and pro combination, Brad Powers. I know you, uh, your college football guys so that William Hill is one The Golden Nugget is one you fared well in the last couple times you've been there, so I know you enjoy that. Are you going to get into any of the pro contest Because you've actually done really well in the pros the last several years. All answers an overlay Keep. I mean yeah. I don't want nothing in the pros, but I mean, I'm also competing against 300. People compete against 3000 people so You got to do exceptionally well the pros to have a shot. Right. Kenneth Walker, the third having a monster night for Michigan State in Evanston, just busted a 50 yard run went down. I believe crafts could be could have come into play, but he has 16 carries 207 yards and three touchdowns. Michigan State 28 14 lead as they are at the northwestern 25 Yard line with 10 30 to go in the fourth quarter. Colorado scored again. It's 35 7. Now. Buffalo's up by 28. Still 7 27 to go in the fourth quarter Still cause South Dakota state 28 10. Over Colorado State with 5 42 to go in the third quarter in Kansas did hold on and beats out. Dakota 17 14 Brad giving out South Dakota in the Coyotes, plus all those double digit points. So another W. For Brad Powers off to a great start if you missed it. Virginia Tech able to hold off North Carolina Charlotte squeaks by Duke at home scoring inside the final 30 seconds. Wait for us to 42 10 win at home against All Dominion, Eastern Michigan. They also got to win overseeing Francis P. A 35 to 15. Okay, let's get into these games that we got going. Brad will start it off. Tomorrow. We've got Western mission Michigan lying down to 16.5 pretty much everywhere at circuits at 16 and Kayla Bell will be pretty good quarterback there for western Michigan through for 18 touchdowns last last year. LaDarius Jefferson, his back. He's got sky more Jalen Hall couple solid receivers that combined for 10 touchdowns. And Ali Fayyad, the super senior back to lead the defense for the Broncos from Michigan. Cakmak tomorrow take the snaps from center to start the season. Uh, Haskins is Bacchus on Haskins had 16 years on the ground last year. Corn will help them out. Got a couple of freshmen and Edwards and done lab. Ronnie Bell leads that receiving corps with Cornelius Johnson. Those two guys 42 receptions combined for four touchdowns and then the line back in court. Josh Ross. Michael Barrett. Very solid. They're from Michigan. They only had nine sacks last year. They gave a bait themselves, so they're gonna have to get more pressure on the quarterback for hard boys by hard boys guys to compete at the high level in the big 10. What about this game inside the state? Western Michigan? Always a pretty good offense totals high up around 66 66 a half even 67 have some places. So, uh, some money going in on the over, it's looking like there. And I think western Michigan is going to be able to move the ball on Michigan. Your take. I disagree. I like the under quite a bit. And maybe it's just my, you know bias from March in Michigan football my whole life, But I mean the 66 total for Michigan football game and a new start in the big office. Are you kidding me? I mean, I get the defense's bad last year, but I mean, that's why you find your defensive cordon in herself. I mean, and I get where if he gets an opportunity, Harbaugh put, you know one on the team. You can do it, and I respect that would be But, you know, ask urges a big loss of wide receiver. I mean, he went in the second round of the draft. So my preferences under 66, all right, under 66 for BP, Katie leaning actually took western Michigan plus 17 see how that pans out Army in Georgia State looking for forward to this one. Christian Andersen started last year, but it looks like Tyler will get the start at least early on, according to the depth chart that I'm seeing Brad and again with a lot of super seniors and moves late, So correct me if you're if you're on top of some of these roster moves Riley Robinson Walters decent backs there for Army. Georgia state. Do I like Cornelius Brown? And I know the line's gone from minus four for Georgia State Panthers at home to down to two coats, and Greg both in the backfield are back and these two guys combining for over 1200 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground, and then you got McCoy and Pinckney pretty good receiving corps. In fact, Pinkney had 47 receptions 8 15 and seven scores himself. They did you they did lose Jordan stricken on the defense who transferred to South Carolina. He had 10.5 sacks last year, so that's big loss for the Panthers on the defensive side of the ball right now, minus two Georgia state out. Home. Where are you on this one. I'm part of the Army money, but I mean, specifically got an A plus for anything over three. I thought Armory was hurt that I couldn't better now in minus two, So it's a pass for me. I mean, I think it'll be lower scoring game, but Not a high value. Pick Katie always.

Michael Barrett Cornelius Johnson Josh Ross Ronnie Bell Kenneth Walker Ali Fayyad Kayla Bell Cornelius Brown 10.5 sacks Christian Andersen Greg 18 touchdowns Virginia Tech McCoy 207 yards LaDarius Jefferson 10 touchdowns Jordan 1 805 Panthers

"That. Washington is on high alert. this week. You are can't wait. You're chomping at the bit to get back onto the practice field. There's gonna be full buying. It's gonna be all business this week. But what's the game plan. I don't know what that's going to look like dylan. Morris obviously struggled. You didn't help him. As an oc. For some reason only twenty two percent play action rate on any other dropback without play action. Dylan moore's how to thirty nine passer rating and three. Maybe a little more play action. So i don't know what that's going to look like offensively and in this matchup you're going to need dillmore. We'd better you're going to need the o. Line to bully michigan in the trenches. And just funny. How sixty minutes football can change perceptions because the area of concern for michigan defensely. Coming in the season side from getting acclimated to a new defensive scheme was there d. line but i was kind of impressed with michigan's defense. Western michigan is is no cupcake. That's a top fifty type offense and the only points. Western michigan scored was on the opening drive and in garbage time down forty with three to four minutes left. And you look at the opening drive touchdown. There's a fifteen yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. So instead of third and ten in way behind the chains it turned into an automatic first down that kept that drive a lot. And so you know i think michigan's defense is much better than i expected. I thought that was a really game performance. But you come back to this and while this sounds really bad for washington. What i'm about to say probably trumps anything about this game in terms of importance. This game was played last week. Michigan would have been a one and a half point favorite. You've now gone through the three. The fourth the six and you're at seven. The debate ultimately becomes that five and a half point adjustment. We know it's warranted because we don't really like what washington does offensively and they aren't just suddenly going to grow some weapons on trees and bring him to michigan. This week is the five and a half points adjustment. We know it's not warranted but is the coaching that bad that we might not be able to account for what washington truly is right. You get situations like this todd. Where two months from. Now you're like holy shit. This is the worst coach team in college. Football you go land. Seven with michigan was an absolute steel. Yes and so. That's something you don't wanna run yourself into. But in the current present day in moment situation where you could possibly go to the ticket window and say three seven minus seven believes. I just don't see that. I can tell you one thing if you believe that washington. This isn't enough of an overreaction. You can take advantage of the price on oregon to win the pac twelve north. Where they're still only a modest favorite of mine is a dollar thirty. Given the way the rest of the division looked from washington state to stanford to cal if washington is going to be no good oregon may have this thing wrapped up by early november now of washington. Going to have some success in this game pain. It's obviously gonna come from the defensive side of the ball our the huskies were no slouch despite the losing effort. They held montana a shade. More than four yards per play. A fifteen percent of montana's drives counter for two first downs or more montana's quarterback only twelve twenty three one hundred five yards and we look at michigan offensively. Hey look they got back to basics. They ran the ball on twenty four hundred thirty four offensive snaps in the first half and for a team that gravitate towards running dna or at least has in the past under coach harbaugh. It's going to be easier for him to justify that decision making process when you now factor in that ronnie bell has been lost for the season. The most accomplished returning receiver on that roster. And when you look at some of the other guys. That are out there whether it's dalen baldwin. Cornelius johnson roman wilson. Aj heading the one biggest takeaway for me. I'll michigan coaches. None of those receivers embody the full complement of traits is ronnie bell. It's almost patchwork deals this guy's burner. This guy's a possession receiver that doesn't create some of those elements and match up on the outside absolutely. And you know trying to kind of remove from what i saw last week. I do think it's safe to say washington's defense the better the two units here. And if jimmy lake a guy that has made his bones being a defensive guy suddenly has a poor defense like washington's in bigger trouble than we thought as a as a program under this current regime. It's still a top twenty defense based on our projections. And i thought the defense played really well against montana. Obviously michigan had an offensive outburst. Will fans probably very excited. They hadn't seen that awhile and no doubt you can only play. Who's on the schedule. And who's in front of you. And from that perspective michigan was dominant. They controlled the trenches. They put up a positive point. Three six epa per run you saw cade mcnamara be uber efficient when he did drop back to pass wasn't very often but he was super efficient only through eleven times was adjusted accuracy. One hundred percent he was. He was not only accurate but he was decisive. He got the ball out on time. And the interesting part was when western michigan did blitz him. He was able to identify any try to make them pay. That was the seventy six yard touchdown to ronnie bella was him identifying blitz pre snap and then saying. Hey i'm gonna make you pay for this. And so a massive explosive down the field in saying that western michigans defense who we projected them to be outside the top one ten inefficiency. We expected them to be bullied. Western michigan had one of the lowest returning defensive production rates in the country so that has to be factored into that performance. Obviously in terms of calling in style. I think this game's going to be really telling for what michigan's offense is. Obviously michigan isn't going to run the ball. Seventy two percents of snaps. They're not gonna only snap at sixty one times on offense but what i propose to you off air. Was you do wonder if harbaugh who hasn't seen things progress offensively as much as you would have liked with josh gaddis over the first two seasons said. Hey let's let's rain this thing. let's let's bring it back in. Let's run it a little bit more. And so that'll be a fun data point to see in a game like this. Obviously you mentioned the big blow to ronnie bell. He was the best weapon that they had. He's out for the season. The other thing that you want to factor in and again where we're seventy two hours out whether changes every twenty minutes so you wanna monitor this but we are looking as of right now. Twenty mph projected winds with gusts higher. And so when you start to get around that fifteen mile per hour range. That's when wind has an impact so we have seen this total come down a little bit from the open right pretty much. Open fifty one across the board group had it yesterday. We're now out to forty nine. The question becomes is is the second number still value fifty one key number. Forty eight is the next key number. If you're going under you obviously want to get ahead of that second key number the question becomes does the second number still have value interesting trend to you. Talk about totals and of course you never wanna make blanket generalizations because i think it puts especially novice betters into a trap hour. We're gonna they're gonna find themselves chasing hill teams involving f. b. s. opponents. I believe last week pain..

"Regardless of what happened this last week. It's going to rise with Washington coming to town next Saturday night. Isaiah whole joining us right now. And Isaiah? Obviously the big news of the day being that Ronnie Bells season Is over. So the first the first part of this question I want to ask you is How does Michigan replace a guy like Ronnie Bell? I was like, like Jake, but that on our on our weekly show that we have, uh, he said this morning. Listen, they're not going to You know they're not going to be able to actually replace it, And I think it's one of those things where you're just going to try to get as much production from other guys. Uh, I've been saying for a long time. That Ronnie Bell is Chris allow Vegas without the touchdown. He plays very similar to them has very similar stats. Similar stature. Same kind of idea where you're trying to get the ball to him and get yards after catch. He's been Insane in that category the last two years, so to lose that Is huge to lose the leadership as well. Another team Steve captain, That's also huge, right, So you're not necessarily going to replace it. But the same time you do have a lot of components. At your disposal that maybe you were hoping to kind of bring them along more slowly, and now it's going to be there. Turn to try to step up, right? Uh, Mike seen were still Is a guy that I would look at and being that flat type the type that can get those yards after catch. I mean, if he's in the third year of the program, we still haven't really seen him break out offensively yet, but he was a guy if you remember back in 2019 When he came in as an early in relief. He was the talk of the entire spring spring training camp. You know it was him and Eric All that's all we heard about was how good those two guys were. So the fact that, uh, there's no Ronnie Belt means it's time for a guy like him going, you know, in his third year, not even going into 30th to be able to go in and actually start to make those big plays that he was known for making a practice. But the guy I really have my eye on is a guy like AJ heading. We saw him with the long touchdown on the jet sweep. Uh, this past week. He's a guy that that was. It's similar to Ronnie Bell in a sense of you can put them all over the field. I think he could really excel from the slot. He's been really fast Guy. Four star out of Out of Illinois in the Chicago area in his second year. We didn't really see him much last year, just a little bit, but I mean, you saw what happened when you got the ball in his hands. Uh, this game. And I think that you could use him in that Ronnie belt type of type of role and between him and we didn't get to see Dalen Baldwin until the end of the game. He's a very different receiver. Obviously, he had that long touchdown that Happened that J. J McCarthy throw that he threw across the field, Uh, but the transfer from Jackson State. He's a different kind, because he's a bigger body. Guys is kind of a little more similar. Not necessarily the same receiver but more similar to Cornelius Johnson. But he's another guy that could potentially build some of that role. You know, really? I'm just naming wider two years. You can also say Roman Wilson, also with his speed And Andrew Anthony and Christian Dixon. I mean, all of these guys are going to have to step up in the wake of losing Ronnie Bell. And then it's just a question of leadership. Who's going to be that guy to come out and have that leadership will on the field that Ronnie Was so clearly exuding not just this year, but even last year before his team captain, So it's a matter of trying to fill multiple types of jobs and roles that Ronnie Bell had held. And it's just such a shame because it really felt like he was He's already had breakout games, right, but it felt like he was having his breakout game. That signature moment that put him on the national map Finally, before his injury just for that to happen, I mean, because you have the you have the long touchdown. You had The point return, which he got injured. You had to catch that didn't count. Which let's be fair catch like that. That one head catch. There should be like a flat should count. Yeah, Okay. What products Through that flag? Isaiah. I was losing my mind that they called it offensive pet. Like, how do you catch a football like that? Tiptoeing down the sidelines and then you want to throw a flag for offensive pass interference about fell out of my chair. Yeah, that's that's one of those ones that it's Football is better when that counts, And it was such a negligible call anyway. One thing if it was Obviously you just kind of shake your said your shake your head and say, Yeah, all right, But that was not one of them self that it's just disappointing that it just seemed like we were starting to really see Ronnie Bell. And his best football and just want to get cut short. Not even one happened to the season. It's just It sucks. There's no better. There's no other way to put it. Other than that, it sucks, and hopefully he gets better soon. And, uh, But I mean, at least it.

"If they don't come, guns blazing right out the gate? I think there is you mentioned Baldwin, our analysts who do the recruiting analysts. They view him as the number one transfer the entire big 10 this year, and so he they looked at him as a Yep. Guy who could end up getting drafted when it's all said and done, and Ronnie Bell. I think obviously everyone knows what he can do. But I think the thing that doesn't always get seen on TV as he breaks routes, he improvises, he says. Okay, this route is not working. I'm going to find a different way to get open. And I think He's a very quarterback friendly receiver. I think, um, you know a couple big guys. Cornelius Johnson, Andrew Anthony, But then they've got the fast guys to Roman Wilson 437 coming out of high school laser times a. J. Henning pretty quick, pretty quick, hard to watch his film and not think he's around 44 as well. And so, um They've got. They've got a little bit of everything at receiver. Uh, obviously, they got to catch the ball can't drop as many passes as it did last year. But But and then and then I think running running the ball. I mean, Jim Harbaugh. I think I think he's only lost one or two games, where they averaged more than four yards a carry. In his entire tenure at Michigan. So if they if the Sun Haskins does his thing, and Blake Corum can kind of make that next step and producing games and die of Edwards. Looks anything like what he looked like in that state title run. Uh, you know they're going to be in business. They Yeah, you could honestly put you could rotate the quarterbacks and it might still be an effective offense and a lot of games. But as far as the big Games go It feels like there's a little bit more options now for a quarterback. It doesn't have to be okay. Hope Nico Collins is open or I hope Karen Higman has a great game today. You know they have. They have a little bit more depth, a little bit more breadth of talent of different guys that they can throw to Or just hand the ball off, too. So it's not not on anyone you know? Asked me who the most important offensive player is, I'd say quarterback, but really, it's not on one player. For them to be good against Washington. No, I again you're listening to Zach Shaw, 24 7 Sports As as well as, uh Um, CBS sports that If you add if I asked you one guy you have to say the five names that are going to be the starter, which we don't know the five names. We know three guys that are gonna play on that often supply but Who are the other two? I mean there. I think you did an article last week. You know, there's the the big battle going on at left guard. So I mean is that that's what the decider is The battle of the left guard. Between Philly Aga and I can't figure the other guy Trevor Keegan. Jeffrey Kagan, is that is that Is that the key right there between those two and then you know, we find out what this offensive line can do. Seems like they like Coach coach More a lot. Sharon Moore. He is he has really this. These players have surrounded him. People on the outside. That's why they were on the outside. They're talking it out. This offensive line is not going to be younger. Sounds to me. The coaches from Mike Heart, too. The players themselves. They really like this offensive line and what they're doing. Yeah, yeah, Michigan thinks it'll be a strength and so whether they're wrong. I mean, I guess we'll find out but they think that this will be a strength of the team. You know, they have seven guys who started last season who are back and they have. I mean, they're all big, too. It's Andrew Stuber 673 38. That's a you know if I were running back and bid, remember that the Michigan bit back at my day? It was huge. That's what I'm saying. I was going to say if I was a running back, I wouldn't mind running behind that right side where you also have Zach Zenner 663 20. It's like, okay, Okay, That's you know, that's going to move some people. Um I like Trevor Keegan to lie. I'm you know, I'm hearing that it's a It's a real battle. You know, Chuck Billy August really offering a push. It's just It's just hard to watch that Penn State game and not think Trevor Keegan is, you know the next multi year starter at left guard, the Wolverine, so I feel like he'll win. Ryan Hayes. Sounds like he's locked up the third job, and then what's interesting in this surprised me a little bit. It sounds like they're they're going with the start us at center. You know, there's some talk about moving center. The center. It's just have a bigger all around offensive line. Maybe maybe a few more guys with some real power I guess based artist has had and I know that's not necessarily Michigan fans want to hear that a six year walk on is winning a really important job. But I guess I guess the talk around Shane Bechler Hall is that you know, he was a little bit more banged up. Then they realized for a little bit last season, And they really like his leadership at center. You know, they'd rather make the right play that necessarily have You know, maybe the wrong call or the wrong blitz pickup things like that. So that's not that's not me saying that's which you know I would pick. But also, I'm on the outside for the reason for a reason. So yes, it sounds like they're going with left to right haste. And then it's either Keegan or Philly Aga. I would think it's Keegan. Best artists. Zinter Stuber, um, you know, and then Carson Barnhart's kind of he can play a few different spots. You would probably be the first guy off the bench. So with with that that flexibility it does seem like you said. There's a few different guys that could work out in a few different positions. Is that something we've seen flex that we thought flexibility was the strength maybe of you know, said Like the Running back position where we thought we've got, you know so many guys that can play you mentioned that we saw a number of these guys saw a time last year. Is that something that could end up hurting the Wolverines? Uh, you know, not having that cohesiveness upfront with too much flexibility. Or is that something?.

Trevor Keegan Sharon Moore Jeffrey Kagan Karen Higman Jim Harbaugh Ryan Hayes Nico Collins Cornelius Johnson Ronnie Bell Andrew Anthony Zach Shaw Andrew Stuber Zach Zenner Blake Corum Zinter Stuber Carson Barnhart Shane Bechler Hall Mike Heart Penn State five names

"Jamie Morris, Dennis 50 and Matt. The hitman missile er on the other side of town doing the ones too. It's time for your top five trending. And Dennis is on you. Well, you know what we do here Jamie is that we look throughout the week and what people are talking about and what they're Also, uh, posting when it comes to the Internet, and we keep track of it and then come out with they a top five and so We? We looked to number five this week, and what we said was going to happen actually did happen this week. It's been all football up to this point. Now, this is 1/4 week that we have done this, but we have A player that is not A football player that made the top five and that is because he was being talked about and it was trending this week, and that That comes from the basketball. We will get to that. But at number five, a guy that was not rated but but jumped in there. Cornelius Johnson, wide receiver from Michigan, he had four catches for 82 yards and a TV. He says 63 wide out. He showed big playability against the Hoosiers and Jamie, if you remember not this last week against the Hoosiers, but against the Spartans, it was Gus Johnson to play by play guy and, you know, talk to If they're not talking to Harbaugh. They get to talk to both coordinators. And if the one point where Johnson caught one down inside the red zone, Gus Johnson said. They say that Johnson Has a chance to be one of the better wide receivers by years, and and you knew that was spoon fed, probably by Josh Gattis to Gus Johnson. And we saw his breakout game this past Saturday against the Hoosiers that that deep past that was not only Ah, good pass by Joe Milton. But that was a heck of a catch by Psycho Joe. No, it was a great catch and he went and got he went and got that ball, so he's got skills and hopefully they can get the ball to him more. Yeah, well, we continue with number four on the trending list. The guy that did not show up yet this year, either, And that goes to Ronnie Bell rung. The Bell had six catches for 149 yards in a TV. At are you and you mentioned it. We talked about it even a little bit earlier. You need to have somebody. That's that vocal leader somebody and it's gonna get you going and you could see after every one of those catches. That Ronnie Bell was pretty fired up and trying to get everybody, uh, going with him there and if he catches that one worries wide open. Down the middle of the field. We're talking about him having a 200 yard games. Ronnie Bell pretty You know a pretty big deal year of him having that game and and showing up number four on this list? Yeah, Running Bell was. It was a great inspiration for that game. I think he just by his sheer Dominance and what he did on the field. I thought that team should have got behind him and said, Hey, we ride your coattails. Let's just let's just roll. It didn't happen. But Ronnie Bel Canto. By all means Running. Bell kept Michigan closer to Indiana, or it could have been a blowout. He's the number one wide receiver. Yeah, without a doubt. Yep, I'd say the number one guy. Right number three on trending a guy that did not make the list last week, and he's talked about a lot because he was sitting up with his parents, and he unfortunately was injured in the game, and that is Aiden Hutchinson. The the Junior. He went down with that. I think ankle injury and And now talked about quite a bit how they're going to replace him. But he's meant to Michigan and all those things. But even Hutchinson coming in at number three on the list of Michigan defensive end Yeah, 18 hundreds, and that's that's a big loss to Michigan. That's why I said You got to hope for one of those guys that are gonna replace him. They gotta step up big time. If not both of them. I'm looking. I mean, I'm still looking for Mozzie Smith to toe Somehow get into the game, but the defensive line they're going to need some help without without hate 18 Hutchison for the rest of the year. Yeah. And this compressed the schedule and you get out there and you get a guy that the place gets hurt. Next thing you know, you feel like, Well, that's it Her see him again? Amazing Blue. That fact. When you end up getting hurt in a season like this and then possibility of him going pro after the year number two, not a football player, and he has not been rated here, but He signed it, sending his letter of intent. Yesterday for Michigan. He is from France. He is a five star big Manny 6 11 7, FT three Reach. His name is Moussa DEA body and your body is ranked as the 20th. He's a five star rank is the 20th best player overall in college basketball, and Juwan Howard. Seemingly coming from nowhere to scoop him up and have him as right alongside with Caleb Houston, who was another five star. Ah, Jimmy, the Michigan basketball program and Juwan Howard. They're not just didn't have just a good recruiting class. They came in with the number one recruiting class. That's you know, you were talking about recruiting whenever else number one recruiting class pretty big deal here for Juwan Howard. In his second year, especially considering that last year and even though they got a good recruiting class coming in, think is the best in the big 10. Remember, they We're going after some of the John was going after some of those five stars had one. And then he took off. Looks like he was going to get another one and inside of 24 hours lost him so You know, that was that was a smack in the face, but look coming back and looking pretty good for what you want Howard's been able to do Moussa. Dear Body number two on the trip. Well that that's been a great John Howard has shown America and show uh, college basketball. They He's no joke. He knows how to recruit. He knows what types of kids he's looking for, and he knows how to talk to them. Obviously he knows how to talk to him. I mean, he's in his first year and he went and got probably one of the best class last year. But this year me I mean, you look at what he's done. Now he's got a pipeline. Now he's establishing himself. I mean, I saw an article. I think Michigan had the number one class Michigan State had the number two class, so it'll be interesting. All these classes when they clash If you'll excuse the pun, No, that's where it's pretty good classes clashing. I don't know if I can put that together without tripping over it. But if you say that five times fast, but that's what I think everybody's gonna be looking at. And you know one thing last year. Juwan Howard. I saw it was something I always wanted to see more of from John Beeline. He ended up doing it more later in his career, but I wanted to see him get show fire on the sideline and everything else on. He did do more of that. But you know, Juwan that Michigan State game when he got so hot, he went out of it. I thought, you know that's good. But you know what? Two minutes later, he was just as calm and as cool as a cucumber over there on the sideline. I'm like John knows what he's doing. I mean, you don't know what you're gonna be as a head coach, right?.

"Under tense, So it's another. Hi exceeded so late. It's a daily heist at an all time high. It's a It's a high for the day, but it's also the latest that's ever been 77 degrees in the fall. So that's that's a good question and again, it's simple to understand. In other words, when we go forward the record highs get lower and lower and lower because we're heading into winter by the end of the month. Our record highs are in the mid upper sixties. Because the normal highs in the mid Upper forties. Oh, you know, just stand. It's again. It's very simple to understand. So yeah, we're so far above normal. This would be a typical day. Around. September, 7th eighth or ninth to put it in perspective. That's how far above normal none awards. What we had today you would have expected two months ago to be a typical late summer early fall day. We'll take it. So, Gary. So you're saying You're saying is just gonna be Michigan weather on Saturday. And so we we should expect to just regular a regular miss November after evening. Back to reality. Your question. I think I think because of the layoff, Wisconsin's more energetic Oh, and like Eric said, I would agree with that. I'm sure you guys if you know if my team would have been idle or as a student athlete of fire, I'll for two weeks and I had to go. The green lights ago. I I be chomping at the bit, so I think they know that doesn't translate that they'll play better. Let's remember that they haven't played in two weeks. I think the rust factor's going to be big. I'm sure you guys have talked about it. I've been listening to you guys this week. You know through today and I agree with everything you're saying about Michigan's weaknesses. I'll just say this. There's two bright spots Ronnie Bell and Cornelius Johnson. Give me some hope for catching the ball and then making big place when we needed a big play. But the running game is missing in action. And I hope we Now Maybe you guys can break down the Wisconsin defense to see if Michigan Khun get some kind of run game. And if the weather plays a factor where we're gonna have to run more Then that's even a bigger deal. So we can like I say we cross were kind of crossing that bridge. Now it's looking more and more. What And that could affect Michigan's offensive plan of attack. Total. You know, I again I always wish our guy's the best. I'm still at a def Con three def. Con four is Europe on the ledge, but you haven't jumped off yet Def Con five as you've jumped off the ledge, and you really want to see change, so I'm not I'm not there. I mean, you know the sentiment out there is def Con 45 there on the ledge where they jumped off. You know,.

"After a season opening win at Minnesota, the Wolverines have dropped off back to back losses to Michigan State last week. And today 38 21 the final at Indiana. Let's go through the highlights of this one. It was a slow start for Michigan to three and outs with an Indiana touchdown drive between those two quick possessions. But then Michigan's offense got going midway through the first Milton back to throw pressure coming deep pass down the middle. The ball is don't for and it's caught. Touchdown. Michigan Cornelius Johnson with a diving grab, and he's got Michigan on the board won't wanna play with a past. What a catch. What Hey, pass by Joe Milton. Tom Brady would be thrilled with this throw right here. Four plays 78 yards, and the game was tied at seven that unfortunately for the Wolverines would be the final tie of the game. Michigan's offense in the rest of the first half mustard just 33 yards. Now, Indiana's racked up almost 300 total. Came up with a touchdown, a punt a field goal and a touchdown on their next four drives. After that game, tying Michigan score, Michel panics 250 for passing yards and three touchdowns before the break when Indiana was up. 24 7 Michigan coming out of halftime, needing a spark Wolverines defense, they delivered a pretty quick stop. And got the ball back. Did Michigan's offense at their own 20 holding call? Push Michigan back to the 10 been a first down completion of 23 yards to Ronnie Bell. On the next play, Milton and Bell connected again. Milton, with three receivers split right back to throw pressure coming. Milton's got time. Bail's out of the pocket left looks.

"That's a good question. I I think it's a opportunities, man. I mean, Every day. You get the opportunity to do something, and you know you got to make choices and, you know, ultimately capitalized on those opportunities you get. Um, that's what that's what I'm stressing in my head right now. You got an opportunity? Obviously, on the deep ball the first touchdown to tie the game at seven. Take us through that play from beginning to end. What you saw it as it unfolded. Hey, that was a really great play. We did a great job of calm, You know, just put us in a good position all week to practice that play and get and you know, go formations and then ultimately we did a great job with the ball location. And We did a great job coming up with what to play there. The big play to take the first touchdown of the game. You keep saying we but of course, you made a great catch. Take us through the catch because I was one where you really had to extended layout. Yeah, I said we because I mean, it's almost like you can just say, you know, how does how did your touchdown field because with, um with team success comes individual recognition. All right. You got next. They were back practicing, so there's a chance that this game is going to be played. Would you rather come back against another ranked opponent, a team that is highly thought of to try and get the taste out of your mouth. No. That's a good question. We got Wisconsin coming up, and it wouldn't really necessary matter Those you know. Wisconsin truckers Northwestern Whoever else on schedule only to know. But like I know we got Wisconsin this week and it was. It's a like I said. It's an opportunity and that's going to opportunity to respond. Where we gonna schedule, man. We got to come out there fast and run. What about chip it away? You guys were chipping away. It seemed like in the second half. He kind of talked about the mood in the huddle. Did you guys feel like you were going to be able to pull off this comeback as the second half went on? Yeah, we were fighting. We're fighting to the last second. No, even until the very last second ticked off the clock and we're still ready to jump in there Ready to go in a wide receiver. Radio one depots Raider on short balls ready to do it every year due to help Tim contribute so Ready. Regardless, man. Well, we appreciate your time. Thanks for joining us and best of luck, Cornelius. Thank you, man. I appreciate it. All right. Cornelius Johnson from the Michigan de Michigan offense, rather wide receiver. First touchdown came today. So Brian back to you. All right, Doug. Thank you very much is we're on the post game show. Presented by the Metro Detroit Buick GMC Dealers, Wolverines falling to Indiana by account of 38 to 21. We are moments away from head coach Jim Harbaugh's Ah postgame thoughts as the Wolverines fall here to Indiana. Tough one here today as Michigan does indeed, fall by 17. And the head coach is now standing by. Here's John Jansen. We're joined now By Jim Harbaugh. The UFC postgame coach's interview is brought to you by the University of Michigan Credit Union and coach. What was the feeling in the locker room after the game? What was the message to the team? A cz you talkto post game? I love these guys. Ah! Every one of them and how they hard they play and I know how talented they are, Um And good They are and just, you know, bringing that out in the game, you know, really? And in the performance, you know, we're Just building building building the confidence and You know, trust in their technique and the fundamentals. And we Go away from that too quick. And, uh, we'll keep their learning, You know, so young young team, it's learning their learning and their God. Do it fast. That's what I'm searching for. You know, just howto bring out a town bring out that ability and have it show up on game day. When we see it. We'll see it during the week and practice and preparation and And No, it's going to be That's where we're at. Right now. I know you guys wanted to start fast. You won the coin toss. She took the ball on DH. Then it was three and out one of four possessions in the first half that were three and out. What were some of the struggles you were having offensively in the first half. Always struggled. We started to run the ball. And You know I can convert. Some of the And some of the catch is making some of the plays. You know, it's ah. Like I said, there's there's guys that air that are doing again. Is it played like Roddy Bell and, uh, you know, Game performance. No, outstanding, Just trusting that. You know that you could make the catch and you could make the play and You know, that's That's that's you know. It's where we were. That's a gap. We have to bridge right now. It seems like that gap was starting to close in the second half. You made a few plays Ronnie Belle, I thought was the spark that got everything going, at least offensively. Just talk a little bit about him. And the fact that he had six catches for 149 yards, a big touchdown catch. But you know that gap was starting to close in the second half What was going differently or what was working offensively in the second half for you guys? Because, as you said, you know, Rodney really gave us Give us a great spark and terms, getting open and catching the ball, making the making the play that It felt like we were gaining some momentum. And, um, you know, just the others. Not this time. No more guys tow more guys to do that believe that they could do it really that and they're learning how to do it. I said. I mean, they're learning that's that's one of the things they're learning is learning that You know that? To trust themselves, trust their trust their ability and trust their technique trust there. Their their training and then go out there and let it rip and make those game place. The quarterback Joe Milton, you know, we saw him be accurate on some of those passes and some of the deep ones. He was just Just so close. How close is is Joe Milton T taken off? Very, very, very close. In my opinion, you know, just continuing tow, No sea, The sea the open, man. Get him the ball and did that. A number of occasions and then got behind. Um, started Teo. You started to try toe for some things, and that that cost cost us in him. But you know, that's that's how close he is, You know, and And No guys making the play, making the catch, Um, getting the In the run game going. I mean those air things that air could be critical for us to have success offensively on the other side of the ball defensively in the first half, especially it seemed like there was there was a lot of procedure Penalties lot offsides. Given Indiana some free plays. How concerned to you in terms of the penalties. There was 10 last week eight this week, and a few of them were declined because they were touchdowns. But what do you need to do to get the penalties taken care of? Yeah, that's ah. Maybe it's a major thing right now. With the defense of offsides. I mean, it was Pretty clear. I mean, that was that was ah, strategy and, um You know, As soon as we jumped offsides, they would. They would snap the ball and you run the two outside receivers deep down the field and somebody up through the middle and and throw it up and No, it's ah. And that's why.

"Click on the podcast segment. And, Ah, we got Dennis back here on the M zone, everything I'll go down and you know what? It's great to be here on the M Zone it it really is being looking down and seeing that spinning wheel a little bit saying that I was Reconnecting. It was the only sad part of this show since I've been on But now I'm back, man. It feels good. So I'm ready to go already talked lots of wide receivers here, and I know that you are as well. We've talked cubes. We talked some running backs and we just You know, didn't talk a lot about Joe Milton. But you know, the wide receivers and Michigan has been chock full of them for the last couple of years, and I don't think and don't feel like they've been ableto. Maximized all of their potential. But when you look at what they have now we want to ask people about When you think about these Michigan wide receivers who do they really need to make sure they get the ball to 734998 10 50 then just a general question when you think of college football, and you think a wide receivers you know who is your favorite college wide receiver, So we've got two things here for you. That you can call in on at 734998 10 50 Your favorite college football wide receiver. And what Michigan wideout? Do they really need to make sure they get the ball to alright, Matt. Let's get into it. It's it's that great position is one of those spots here. Like running back in quarterback to skill position is one of these where you're a fan. And you know this is one of those glamour positions, love the wide outs and I'm interested to see where you're going to go. We love those home run hitters. We love the guys that make the big plays. And so you know, talking on looking at your first question of who Of this Michigan wide receiving corps. Do they need to make sure they either get going? O R make the concerned effort to give the ball to in there. There are a lot of Very talented wide receivers on the team. Like you said. We've had what seems like a plethora of talent but haven't been able to maximize it. So we have Great, You know, great guys, Ronnie Bell and Cornelius Johnson and you know a number of guys who have come in. But you know again to me, the guy that we've gotta make sure. Get the ball to to maximise all of his efforts are that big guy who's taken over the big number at the wide receiver position number one that would be Nico Collins. He is the big bodied, deep threat wide receiver that Michigan has seeming to be missing for. A little while here. The deep threat has not been a big part of Michigan's offense in what seems in a long time and in coach Gaddis is offense that is going to be one of the things that is necessary being able to stretch to the vert the field vertically, so we had some other speedsters. That I think will be certainly big in Michigan's offense and in this wider Stephen core. But if I had to pick one guy Teo to make sure that we had to, you know, get the ball to and it's going to be in a variety of ways. It's not going to be just getting the ball down the field. But you know Nico Collins, is that that big body that number one guy that We need to make sure and showcase that he is a number one wide receiver. Yeah, that's just sit around and agree with you here, you know, might make Ah, for better listening if I was like, went with somebody else, but I'm right with you on Nico Collins. Man. Here's a guy with the size. He certainly deserves that number one jersey with the ability to wear it. I mean, he could have easily have gone into the NFL draft. The thing for me is that it's one of these. He's one of these guys that I don't know if he's underrated Teo to Michigan fans I was looking through. I think it was CBS. They had a story like Top 25. College Wide college, returning college football wide receivers, and I thought, Well, we're gonna have Nico is even being a top 10 hit me wherever he's that, you know. I'm starting to go through it. They were scrolling through and they started at 25. It was a big list. I'm going through my alright. Well, they probably got it in the top 10. Now as I went through it Top 10 like No, You know, there's the guy from Purdue. There's the guy from Minnesota now and you know there. There's a lot of a wait a second. You know, Now we're getting down into the top five. There's the guy from Clemson and Here we go. And there's you know the guy from Alabama and yet they did not have Nico in the top 25 it's just like he was he was under utilized last year. Usually two candidates have the pound the ball to him and make sure That you're getting it to him, and they can roll coverage is they can do whatever else but he's big enough in the red zone that you can throw it up to him almost doesn't matter who's covered him there. And he just He makes those contested catches Where if I'm Josh Gattis and I'm sitting in there, they're out there and they have a football season. I'm telling Dylan McCaffrey or Joe Milton. Whoever it is, man. We got to make sure that we're getting the ball to number one..

"Yard to three yards down the field you can't open up holes then yeah I have a running game and of course part of that also is they need to you know we'd like to see more polls from the quarterback position on runs with the ball we didn't see a hardly any of those again in this game today and I just don't understand why and it may just be based on what the defense is doing because a lot of those plays that you've heard outboard just talk about during the cap the coach and others a lot of those run plays are ticket about what the defense gives you a take away that all look based on the read. then you're not gonna get the quarterback run but that's just a part of it it starts with the offer the line is to block better maybe just in the block too many miscommunication too many assignments too many guys getting free runs the quarterback you end up where she gets it a few times and he has to be evaluated use the dill McCaffrey and of having to scramble and he ends up taking a pop and after you know a few different run someone scramble some design runs and he takes it that isn't because our protocol and the offense yeah you have a lot of issues to get your skill positions all on the same page there was a a past pattern that's a point a game where I think it was run about really is a matter but the receivables Cornelius Johnson the receiver breaks in the quarterback throws out and I don't know just based on the pressure the the saw so you have some miscommunication that things on the outside that you need to fix but it really starts with those guys up front have to block better they've got to figure that out in a hurry and if they don't it's going to be a long painful sees a provision quarterbacks which we've seen all too often really in the last ten years here in Ann Arbor or so which is about we're not still not that yet and I don't you ever get used to it it's awesome that we ever saw before but now here it is. so what. Michigan loses thirty five twenty one thirty five fourteen to twenty one point deficit they fall into one of the season on one of the template obviously a lot of frustration going on and that's where your four seven three four nine nine eighteen fifty you could email studio WTKR dot com you can tweet us at Michigan insider all opinions welcome we do not discriminate we just ask for you guys to keep it above board keep it civil keep it clean no name call no personal taxes I mean I'll agree or disagree with what you're saying I'm actually a little bit more numb at the moment than anything else but you know we're here to talk about cheap just necessary as deftly not needed at all we're here to talk football and hopefully the Wolverines can figure out what is wrong which means a lot of things that are wrong now they can figure out how to make those things right the meantime we'll talk about it today talk about it tomorrow on the playground with ms in the girl talk about it.

"We get the first asteroid question of why Michigan from Claude Johnson data Cornelius Johnson here on each day. The Harbaugh's podcast. You can talk about this. I know my dad can talk about this. I talk about this now because. Just having a daughter who just went through the recruiting process. She's going to play water polo here at Michigan my daughter grace. Oh, fantastic and relation sakes. Thanks, you know, but the dynamic of it the dynamic of the recruiting process starts, and as as a parent, you're just I mean, I was like just totally supportive, and and you know, this and this is going to be your decision gracious. You know, and you know, what schools are you most interested in, and what are you looking for any, and you and you go through the just start the process, and it's it's you're given you're giving advice when they ask for it, basically. And you're you know, you're giving opinions and in inclusion trying to, you know, watch him navigate, you know, what's important to them. And then they get it down. Then there's a top ten and then kinda saw get go to a top five, and then she started making official visits. And then, you know, Michigan was one of them and. You know, I felt like, you know, trying to get things out of her where she going, and she's it's almost like he can't get that information. And they get quiet about certain things. And then like for me, I eventually went to my dad's where should I go dead? And then he was even hesitant on telling me, you know, where I should go. Like he was fearful almost making that decision for me. Even though I was pleading for him to give it and Chris never I heard that story. So go, right. And then, you know, and then it got down to it. And it's like, I really I want to I want her to come to Michigan. I want her to go to Michigan. I'm just like holding back from Saint golden as you got to go to basic, it, you know, and. And finally, she. She chose Michigan. But just that dynamic clot. If you could talk about our dad could talk about it. It's it's excruciating. Almost they're down to the down to the end. And you're just trying to keep your powder dry and not like not tell them where to go. And then if they go somewhere, then they're not successful. There doesn't work out. Then they can blame you. It's just so much. It's so complicated. Why we if I am I the only one, I know I'm not first of all the segments should be called lucky sports, dad's, right? Yeah. Right. Right. Lucky lucky lucky? "Attack each day. The Harbaugh's podcast Claude is the data. Cordelia Johnson who's going to be or is a member of Michigan's class of twenty nineteen. You talk about the Connecticut. I believe three guys will be on the roster in the fall from the state of Connecticut that may be outside of Yukon, maybe the lead in the country. You guys have a neck you mentioned Dom Brown. What is it about Don and that area coast? He seems to find these guys to black. He talked about Cornelius Jack stores coming in this a dancing to find those guys. I mean, I'd say the Connecticut guys kind of lump them in with the mask is in the all new end equity pay in Rhode Island to wreak black, Ben Mason, and Sean mccune and the maker maker. Cornelius Johnson there. I mean, the the good thing is they all play, you know, they're all they're all play. They give no grief. They're not allergic to work. And and these guys come in here and they're really good players in their good teammates. And I think they're the raised really well and. You know, you talk about Dan Brown. Don Brown's definitely been the really been the key. I just did a week of recruiting with Don in Connecticut in central mass. And I spent most of his whole career coaching. He knows every every high school coach there that they they walk in and Don walks in. And it's it's you know, it's a reunion. It's one of the coaches even said, Don Brown and Massachusetts. I mean, there's there's Bill Bill check never wanted. Don, Brown, number two. That's the ranking. That's the ranking Tom Brady number three. That. That's that's how we start up there. You know? It's it's great. I'm trying to pick up the kind of the key. The key. Maybe six to ten key words, you know, that the talk like a person from central mass, you know. How many yards did he gain? Exactly, that's funny. It's awesome. And. The plan that, you know, they're they're, you know. Claude said at the you know, we're saying here, the guy's from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, the they come here and there, and they're all they all play in the all work, hard and get good grades. And they got the. Really good support from home. You know, there's no there's no soft shoulder to cry on. You know, it doesn't it appears to me that way. And they they get good advice on. You know, they support the support the coaches here. I mean, I think of all the parents, you know, that there of our players from that area. It's not like there's criticism of the of the coaches at the doctors, or you know, it's a they support and to give them the right advice and we're used to play in cold weather. That is that's important pets off your perspective on the value bringing Cornelius to can't come in here for the camp experience you getting to watch him during that camp experience. What was it like for you? And what it was like for him. I want to say since you mentioned New England and radiant Bella check, our when when Cornelius was six years old. I took them took all the boys to their first football NFL game in a first football game. It was at Gillette stadium. It was Tober seven two thousand seven and the patriots beat the Browns thirty four to seventeen I must have had gotten a bonus or something. So we sat in the front row in the upper deck, and somehow it made an impression on them. And now, you know, all these years later, we're watching the patriots go to the Super Bowl, you know, again. And and I think that's when they fell in love with with the sport. And and so, you know, we've we've always had in Cornelius has always had a real admiration for for for excellence for greatness. And so one of the things he was looking forward to sit fancier a question about campus is. Is. You get a sense of greatness or not wherever you go. And he he's really really highly attuned to it. You know, how has guys who are haters like Brady, you know, or like LeBron Ahmed move Hobie or MJ? But you can't really hate somebody. That's just truly great it. If you're a fan of greatness in a student of greatness..

"So we wanted to bring the podcast back to its roots a little bit in the end, the podcasts exist because of the father son relationship between Jack and Jim Harbaugh, and it's really more than that. It's a family podcast for from Jackie. And you've heard from Joni and Tom Kriens been in the podcast, obviously, John is called in to the podcast as well. Well, we want to introduce you to the newest members of the Michigan football family. That's the class at twenty nine thousand nine through the eyes of their family through their parents today, we start off with Claude Johnson father of incoming wide receiver. Cornelius johnson. I doing Jack Harbaugh. Hey, coach. Oh, you doing great. Thank you. Jim, jim. How are you doing great? How are you guys? Really good. Good. How's cornelius? He's wonderful. He's asleep. Right now. We were we were watching those games. Today's pretty amazing. Sure was. Heck of a day of football kind of a fun time in it. What you get a chance to watch the game with with your family and get a chance to talk through love commercials because then you can interact. Yeah. You know for for years, we we've been we've had this habit of muting commercials. Like from since the since the kids were little at a great idea. Really? Because I always thought some of that time you have with your with your sons and daughters gives you the opportunity just to communicate talk yet. Because because what happens is you're sitting there and all this stuff is going on all this noise in the background. We've always had this concept of stillness like sometimes you just gotta be still for second. And that's when that's when the real ideas happened and real connection happens. It's a great concept, the concept of sitting still and just putting your electron IX downloading the television, and you know, sitting in a room and Chattan, and you have three boys and you're able to do that. That's actually a pretty impressive thing. Well, it's this as we started it when we were little their little kids, you know, like just mute the TV and honest. That's when you can take a break from being kind of like captivated kind of like a hostage of the TV already. So might as well just stop for a second. And then you can think about something else. So it just do something else or just ask questions or talk or whatever take a break. Yeah. So that's been that's been. That's been good one thing that I've had a difficult time in the first person would tell you that it's my wife Jackie that it's hard for me to be quiet to listen to be silent. But one thing that with grandchildren now getting a second crack at it. Silence is not a bad thing. Just listen. And sometimes you hear nothing and just listening. Eventually, you're going to draw some conversation from your grandchildren or from your children, and I'm seventy nine years old, and I'm working on it. I'm quite not quite there yet. But I am working on it to mazy ways. Early seventy nine years young. Oh, thank you. Words never it. Because you got three three three boys and are really doing well in school and in on the athletic fields. Tell us about your tells about all three. Well, yeah. Thank you. I'll start start with the youngest. Carnegie is his name. And he's an he's an eighth grader who's we're just in the process of applying for secondary school for him. So so he'll probably you may be going to boarding school or some other school. And the reason we're doing that is because he's really good at basketball and upwardly are maybe it's not as competitive. So, you know, I've always just decided like, hey, you know, what we're ever we have to take him. That's what we'll go. So from from real early on started taking him to AAU basketball team down in Harlem. You know, it's just a commitment. And that's what we've done. So he's really good kid. He's a really good communicator. He's he's got this IQ kind of like a communication, and maybe like emotional intelligence, I q that's really high. So you know, I actually learned a lot from him. You think it's supposed to be the other way around. But I really appreciate that. And then there's this cash is he's the oldest. He's a he's a cornerback at the university of San Diego thrill where you guys have connections. Yes. Both both Mr. Petar by coach Auerbach..

"If I were a coach I'd be very careful about using up a challenge early in the game knowing that I want one I want one in the last four minutes, two minutes, five minutes. Whatever it is. I want one then because it could make a difference in the game you'd be a little less anxious to. A us one of those challenges up really empathize with Sean Payton. I mean that was totally miss call that I mean really gives it gives the saints that interference call the saints would have won that game. I mean, all I would have to do is just run the clock down to four seconds kick. The kick the game winning field goal from about the ten yard line of. So and it it was so made me feel the we had we had an championship game. San Francisco in the New York Giants where giants had the ball. Just under two minutes to go in the game. And they swing the ball out to the little flare out to the running back. He catches it. Navarro Boma comes up thuds them up and then strips the ball from him and recovers the ball. We would head the ball. The about the eighteen yard line with under two minutes to go with a game being tied. Couldn't kick that field. Goal and and won the game. And they they called forward progress had been stopped. It was just I mean, the the worst call same kind of thing. Like, how do you? How do you make that call an obvious call? And it's not reviewable just whistle. And you know, you don't get it. And then the giants ended up putting and and I believe ball went off of Kyle Williams muffed muff that pot. Another just that kind of stuff when that when it comes down to a call at the end of the game that that we're, you know, we're going to the Super Bowl if if they if they just make the right call, you know, so feel for Sean Payton, and that situation coming up next we want to try something new here, we want to introduce you to the parents of the members of Michigan's class at twenty nineteen to start us off to Claude Johnson, quite a guy. Interesting story to tell you. So we're going to introduce you to Claude Johnson father of Cornelius Johnson coming up next here on a tacky each day, the Harbaugh's podcast, sixty seconds. That's exactly how long this commercial less..

"He does he prefers to do it that way. But he doesn't always do things that way. So he's shown that he can change and he's shown that he will change. And he's done it quite a bit. The what the way the system looks. Now compared to what it did when he took over in two thousand fifteen is very different on both sides of the ball. So now you bring in a guy like Gaddis who has that experience. And it's to me, it's a recognition of what the personnel is an Ann Arbor. It's saying we have shape Patterson. We have DP Jay, we have Tariq, we have Niko. We have all of these weapons. We have Ronnie bell. We bring in Cornelius Johnson. And hey, here's the good news Gaddis as well. Being a co offense coordinator in Alabama. They still ran the ball. They ran the ball more than Michigan did and had way more yards. Right. But they also pass the ball a lot more than Michigan. Did they had what almost five thousand yards passing and fifty two touchdowns and? Ran the ball almost three thousand yards twenty nine twenty nine fifty eight or something like they they can do all of that. So that's the good news about bringing a guy like this. And on top of that. Like, I mentioned at the top of the show is he's a brilliant recruiter. He's brought in three sorry to five stars across his tenure. Yep. He's got all kinds of forcibly eighteen four stars that he's brought him brought in from Penn State through Alabama. And even some of those three stars were home runs Taylor. For instance, for Penn State look as far as the Jim Harbaugh offense. It'll be Jim Harbaugh's offense done by Gaddis way. For me for anybody to think Jim Harbaugh didn't sit with this young man or talk to this, man. I don't know if they sat together, whatever they sat they talk to one. Another philosophies had takes be exchange. I thought if you hire someone that's the philosophy. I want. Case closed. I look when you're looking for the Jim Harbaugh office is the office that you you said it, and you said yesterday is the offense that you have where's the strength of your office? And you go with if you if your strength is running the ball. You got big offense of lime. You got a big truck coming coming in. And you're ready to go diesel it up. But if you look at his team, and we said it before the peach bowl, I'm looking to see a wide open offense. Throwing that ball down the field sprinkle in that run. Take advantage of you know, of what you have from the assets that you have we didn't see that in the peach bowl. But maybe we're going to see it spring ball. Maybe we get to see even more during the season next year. Yeah. And again guests coming in you would expect that the coaches half the you'll have to see a little bit more of that. Again. I I don't think you'll see a brand new a brand new wide open offense. But he had an opportunity where he was going to follow that other offense of coordinated Alabama, worry, probably gonna Maryland and Regina hurts. Yeah. Where I was gonna say this word on the street. They might be getting a pretty good quarterback. And we play he would have the keys to the castle up there. You know, he would have carte blanche up there where you would figure he was just working with the guy down at Alabama that they would be on the same page going up there. So again, I don't think he would take this job unless there were some agreement. Like, you said, Jamie words, hey, we might not agree completely every single thing. But again, we have enough of our philosophies meshing and overlapping where we know what we need to do to get the job done next year. And if if he if we're not doing it. Who has the upper hand and say, look, I then I'm calling the players and we're not running right? There's a problem. Then right, right. We're not meshing. Wh why did you bring him in? That'll be the question. So I mean, look, you don't just do something just to do it. You do it to make it right? And he's changed things. And it's made better we needed to. Hey, you went eight and five everybody said, you gotta go. Look look at yourself in the mirror and reflect he did exactly. And that's why it's kind of funny that you everyone says you need to open up the get getting offensive coordinator. I would argue that this was the best possible scenario for them because they're getting an up and comer a young guy resonates with players. He's thirty four years old. He's been doing it at the track record from working with wide receivers to become into co offense coordinator, he's done it at a low level. He's done it at a high level. He's worked his way through all of this is the best possible scenario for the sake of like, he's not necessarily. A guy who is stuck in his ways. He's not necessarily a guy. That's like, well, this is the only system, I know he's a guy that's shown that he's malleable he's been able to do things that you know, he was under Joe Moorhead at Penn State. But he was able to learn from that. Yeah, he was partially under Mike Loxley at Alabama. But he was also responsible for developing that scheme and that scheme like how many times did you hear all season long? How this was Alabama's very best team. Granted you didn't show up on Monday. But we heard time and time again, this is by far Alabama's best team because they open things up and Gaddis was a primary reason was, you know, along with Mike Loxley as to why that happened that way so going and getting that guy like that's so much better than going and getting you know, an also ran or a retread from somewhere else. Yeah. Seven three four nine and eight ten fifty seven three four nine hundred fifty. Let's go to Bill in case zoo. What a Bill. Amen. Thank slow the show. Thanks for the time, man. No problem. Yet. Do a fantastic job a Sparty fan, but I watch Michigan. My brothers a huge machine fans watched them with him. Religiously and just had a couple of observations to make about the team. I think it's you see all these young, you know, and it's because they're high energy. But also man I'm just happy that they brought some diversity to the higher up. I know they haven't had any other coach Raimi's. But I mean, this guy jetted every all the players that played for him around him to love him. And maybe something on the locker room that he needs a young guy to connect with some of these other players and just. To give some Jewish in their young guy like this where the from personality could go a long ways towards making a big difference down the road for for the wolverines. I look forward to watching their offense developed these next couple of years. Thanks for time guys. Thanks bill. Thanks for the phone. Call. Brings up a great point. There is a. I mean, God is diverse. I mean, he's he's an African American coach. And it's always good to keep everything equal and everything like that. So I mean, he didn't look I don't think hardball looked at the color. Just looked at the best option. Had. But he also does bring up a good point. Because it does add some diversity to the hierarchy of the team. And when you have a lot of young African American players does help having a coach up there that they can identify a little bit more with. So it is something that we haven't seen here before. So I agree with Bill. It's not something where I don't think that that was the decision a factor in the decision. But it is something that is is nice to have a little bit more diversity on the staff. I I wouldn't say it's more. I mean in the sense that you know, pep Hamilton. You know is essentially, you know, Sean, more, you know. Okay. But anyway, I was looking like our Ashton. I can't say that. Yeah. The the. Yeah. No, we're not gonna go there. Nope. But yeah, I, but I do think it is. It is good for the sake of the diversity is good. The I think the youth is more important, honestly, just being a younger guy that was you know, he was in the NFL just ten years ago. Yeah. That's more important to us. I think he wrote and I think he can. Signify with these kids more. I mean, I thought it was huge last year bringing in a what's Rowntree ROY Roundtree around tree two years ago, bringing in Afonso, I mean northbound's especially two years removed from I think Smith is kind of an underrated guy that people don't talk about enough gummy. And he was so close to the having just played in the NFL with the Zona card. Yeah. And I mean, they've they've got a lot of those guys, and it's that are really relatively young and fresh that aren't. They aren't your primary coaches, but the secondary coach is they've got such a revolution going on there as well. Yeah. I agree. Seven three four nine hundred eight ten fifty. Let's go to Gary in Ann Arbor went up, Gary. Hey, good afternoon, everyone. I really liked your discussion being on your on the topic that I want to talk about one thing that wasn't mentioned about the data Shire this morning for collars. And maybe I tune in and out. So I don't listen to all six hours of Boll shows, but gannets is capable of making in game adjustments. Now, he's gonna see stuff. Let's say let's say, for example, the running game isn't working. Well, even though you preplanned everyone's gonna probably have input on pre-planning your opponent during the week on game day if something goes wrong with the offense and not just throwing it out. Let's say running game they're stopping the running game. This guy is capable of making in game adjustments that quite frankly, most of us didn't see during the season and his idea had said even in the peach bowl or no the Ohio State game. Michigan wasn't spread offense. Sometimes and during those sometimes. Period or episodes, Ohio State couldn't stop Michigan. But then Michigan lapse back into their more traditional offense. And this guy is probably capable of just steadying. The Carson, listen, we're going to plan B plan, a isn't working. And and that's that's what I would like to see, and I agree with Matt Leach that this guy didn't come here to be overruled. He's gonna have mostly control. I won't say absolute control. But I wanna make the point about the end game adjustments. And I I I'm optimistic in that regard that maybe if if some of the offense isn't working he's going to be up there, and he can probably have the final say as what can be successful. I so I like to see your guys opinion on that. 'cause it's kind of a little bit different topic that I didn't hear this morning or midday. Thanks. Okay. Well, thanks for the call, Gary. I mean. I think it's one of those things where we just kind of have to wait and see through a degree because we don't we don't know the cause he wasn't the play caller at Alabama. So it's just a matter of of how how much were those adjustments part of his input into the offense or how much of it was Loxley. But that is really honestly what Michigan needs probably the most is. That's why the play calling has kind of been faltering is because they haven't made those offense of adjustments that they could whereas defensively now say what you will at the last two games. Those didn't go. You know, very well defensively, but how many times throughout Dan Brown's thirty nine games in Ann Arbor. Can we say like he made the necessary adjustments in the second half offensively even though Michigan tended to look better in the second half. And a lot of these games of the ball control offense and wearing teams down that wasn't really as much of an adjustment that Michigan made as much as they just continue doing what they were doing and it worked. We haven't been able to talk about how in the second half Michigan made that offensive adjustment and things just changed and they were able to light up the other team. So that's hopefully where the calling comes in and the fresh eyes come in and seeing what doesn't doesn't work playing in the what that is halftime adjustments? Are key is the guy that a guy who's making the calls can make the call and come down and tell what he seeing from from the high from the press box. Vantage point. So that'll be helpful seven three four eight ten fifty. Let's go to show Lanta, Sean. Hey. The ball fell today. Good. How about you? I think it's good. Everything's good. Hey, just switch to the deepest Sabah the ball. Just had a quick question. I know that Bush senior has been on the staff and the not position coach as an opposition coastal last three years, and I was wondering if Jim is going to actually move him into a position coach, you know, since he has NFL experience and he's been around the program so many years. I mean, I haven't heard anything have you is..

"Joining us to talk some Michigan football recruiting solely for months. You should introduce us. You should introduce introducing you now now they called the wrong name. I was doing earlier in the week. I was doing it earlier in the week a little bit here, and there that's your New Year's resolution is to introduce my staff. One of them was to be less critical. How's that going for me? No, San yours. Let's see what were the other ones. Are you a resolution guy sounds like he is? He has multiple saying one of them was to was to be better on Twitter in games. And actually for basketball. I've been fine. We'll see we'll see when the football season starts have been August. You'll see November thirtieth. So during the during the sixteen in L start you've been fine. Pat yourself on the back actually early on in the season. I did have. In the first half of the Michigan North Carolina game are the lights too bright for Jordan pool in all fairness. He missed his first four shots and he defensively and like to the shots that he missed for layups. He's averaging like, I know nine ten points a half. Good. I understand player. I understand. But really what happened was at the half. He came in. And someone's like Michael spat just punch you on Twitter and this guy. There and show him and then he took off. So I don't know why people are upset with me about that tweet. But yeah. Other than that. You know, what I actually just? Yeah. Just try not to tweet during games at all. But that's one of them. How many times I said that guy's pretty sure that's almost a broken record. And I don't think there's a problem with you tweeting. It's just you get this like you very critical. I think is the best way. Honestly seems like you're drunk on rage. Like, that's what it seems like. Down the Scots damn it. Like, I'd say this as a. I'm fine with it. But it almost seems like you're like every tweet is like you're on the soapbox leading this mob. And like so your language is like really powerful like either swear that much, but I don't swear that much. But. Air. That's almost like everything you say is like in all caps in bold based on the. It's just the way it comes off like like after the peach bowl. This is nineteen seventy-one. Jim like, that's how I picture you saying it when you get more like says, a nineteen seventy-one. Jim come on, you know. But like the language the way you type it's a little bit. These guys have got me pegged. Pretty well. I'm not gonna lie pretty accurate. It took us a couple of years of actually figured that out about you take that long. Knows me. Pretty well. I worked with him for a couple of years. Shared an office. We've been friends. I mean. Yeah, he can see how I get pretty animated. But, but you know, the only thing I'll say is that most of my tweets are not an accurate. They're just loud, man. Sharon. I would also say that I I tend to agree with you far more than I disagree with you man, shakes sky at the case on this side. So well, he comes with a lot of my criticisms, my criticisms, look, you can say that I'm loud and obnoxious about it, and I won't disagree at all. But my criticism for the most part have been pretty close spot on. There's your word you love that. I love it four times today. Yeah. Yes. Spot on say send you listen to see how many times says spot on. I mean, I have gotten rid of the drink drop as well too. So I mean, we could probably bring that resurface that back saying something over and over again, we just do the drink drop because you hardly mention your wife's name you never mentioned cross fit anymore who the cross at one is totally overblown. I honestly mentioned them the first year. It was a sponsor, and I would drop it in there. I mean, anybody that says that I talk about you had in your intro song? Yeah. When you first started this show, an avid cross-fitters. Well, exactly the first year we could change the first year over year straight every day. Out of your two and a half years guys guys. What else what else can we pinpoint about Michael here that I don't do? Well, oh, dance your good. Now, we know that don't dance on the air hair. Luckily, this is not this is a radio show. Yeah. The one time that we have a we used to have an interim Zach badger house and he would face time sometime like the not the face on the Facebook live, and he put it up there. And I'd be like in the chair just like. Exactly, you cannot put that out there without my permission, your your that was a different Zac. Let's yes, okay. Talented, though, almost an it. Because like you just had no rhythm right there. But there's not even music like I like how you have no rhythm when there's no music even playing phenomenal. Yeah. It's hard. Yes. I'd be I'd be more worried. If he had no rhythm when there was music playing. I don't have any rhythm on this music plane as I said, I'm worried about you, Michael. All right. See that we've actually turned this into an intervention segment right now, Michael how can we honestly we could probably do an entire show call up and tell me why. I don't like about me where monthly for that. And if you can get both Zack in minutes to say, yes on it that they think it's a problem. I will agree to try to change it. I think you're fine. None of this is like sincere like, oh, you say spot on too much like not a big deal. This is just friendly healthy razzing. I get. I actually enjoy it. I really do. Like, I said, I always healthy. Yeah. Your criticisms are loud. And they're and they're like spa. Hey, so Brady was down in Texas for game not called. It's now the all American bowl, formerly the US army all American game. Yeah. The army is no longer a sponsor. So you saw three current Michigan Siamese. Yep. Chris Hansen the defensive lineman who is indefinitely set to play interior next year. Yeah. So that's one of the things I learned while being down there throughout his whole recruiting cycle. He was labeled as a strong side defensive end by means two hundred eighty seven pounds. I think he weighed in at his physical down there. So I mean, he's almost two ninety. Any played defensive end in high school because his team ran a three four. So that's that's why he played that spot. He's going to be all interior, which makes Michigan's hall look a lot better. Now, you've got Mazi Smith and Kristen both on the inside some lengthy guys on the outside and David job. Oh and gave Newburgh Michael Morris? He's his position maybe up in the air a little bit as well. But knowing that he is coming in as a true interior three technique kinda guy is it makes the class even for a very complete class. It makes it even more complete. And he was he was dominant, man. I mean, he was he in the last update he lost his he lost his fifth star which I didn't hate because as a defensive and he is kind of lacking that that length that build that super quick twitch. But when you move inside suddenly all of those traits are now at an elite level. I mean when you're talking about a three hundred pound or doing those things that normally a two hundred and forty five pound or does it looks a little different? So I think he's going to get another bump in the lab. In the last update, maybe get that v star back and he's already a top fifty kitties. He's elite. He's very good. And he didn't disappoint really good with his hands. Really quick off the ball. Recovered a fumble in the game. So strong week of practice and did really well in the game as well. And are these guys is he Amasi Smith prepared to come in. I mean defensive tackle is a weak spot right now for Michigan. And you're looking at Carlow camp. Michael dump for Derek Jeter. Donovan cheever. Derek Jeter is playing defense. They might have some issues Donald jeeter. And that's it. I mean, we're looking at two true freshman as your backups. They gotta be they gotta be ready. You know, they've got to be ready in order to provide some depth of nothing else. Amasi Smith is early in Rowley. So he's on campus as we speak, and, you know, north of three hundred pounds already for him. And I think, you know, hidden we'll probably get there in short order. So yeah, they're going to need. They're going to need to step in and provide some depth. Like, you just said there's three guys. I mean, there's three guys and really just to who have even played. I mean, Jean has been hurt hasn't really done a whole lot. So yeah, you're definitely going to need some guys to at least fill out the depth chart, and and you know, give those other guys a blow and they need to Cornelius Johnson. The four star wide receiver was down there. This is a traditional outsiders Seaver. This is not a slap guy. What how did he performed down there? And what are his thoughts? I mean, he can certainly look at diamond people's Jones in the progress. He made and Nico Cal. Allen's I'm sure he'd like to see the wires. She was more involved in the offense. Yeah. There's no question. I talked to his dad about that. And it's a bit of a concern. But he's he's a I mean, he's a kid another really really smart kid, his parents have ridiculous educational background. So Michigan was a school from the beginning that was serious for him because of the degree and just the environment. You know, the the culture around campus. I mean, some of these kids talk about that stuff, and it's just lip service. And some of them really means a lot. And I think all three of these kids that I talked to in San Antonio. It was important to them. But in terms of on the field. Yeah. I mean, you know, it's the complaint that a lot of people have had that watch Michigan. Especially in those last two games where you've got you've got you've got three guys in Nico Collins Donovan people's Jones, and Tariq black who probably was never all the way back. I mean, it looked like at least and how he was used. But you've got three very talented outside pass catchers, and they just weren't used all that. Well, I mean, I don't think anybody would deny that you can kind of look at the numbers. They Donovan people's Jones ended up scoring eleven touchdowns this year. That's pretty good. But I think when you watch the flow of the game and you see how they're used playing in play out. It's not. It it. It leaves something to be desired, and that you know, that was a concern. But he was very very impressive. We actually at rivals. And I've I've been going to bat for him since I saw him in person like a year ago that he was underrated. He's a three star rivals a number sixty nine receiver in the country. That's like it's laughable to me. I mean, he's definitely going to get a bump. Yeah. I think he's should jump well in the four star status, and he proved that all week long. Thank my most popular tweet of the whole week. I was down. There was him. Just absolutely blowing the doors off of Kyle Hamilton who's pushing for five star status. And hi four star status in signed with Notre Dame. He's a safety probably not gonna play a lot of man coverage. But the fact that Johnson was able to just I mean run by like he was saying still was pretty impressive. So he he certainly put to bed any any concerns that people seem to have about him not having top end speed or not being explosive a score two touchdowns in the game. So I think he he did he far outperformed his ranking coming in. And I think he's deserving of a big bump the next time. That takes place. All right. So the he is a second of the three the third is obviously the biggest name on the board from Michigan. And that is Dax tannehill the five star safety as you as we talked about in the game. Didn't have a great game. Did have a good week down there. Sam Webb on his show. This morning was talked our earlier this week was talking about this idea of the viper. And is it Michigan? Or is it exton hill pushing the whole viper talk. It sounds like it's Michigan. I asked you know, early in the week. I got the video interview with them like the intro interview. And he mentioned viper. And so then that's on the site for a couple of days. It's on the message board and people are like why why is he playing viper? Michigan needs an elite safety, and I agree with that. They need a safety who can run who can cover slot receivers who can you know to erase angles and not get not get caught up in the wrong angles. I mean, we've seen that when Michigan played some speedier teams that you know for Josh Mattel us entirely kennel. They're good. But they they don't have that speed. You can see it when you watched games. And you watch tape decks hill has that speed. So I think Michigan fans loved the idea of playing safety. But he's you know, he's six one. He's almost two hundred pounds. He's extremely intelligent on the field..
