"Brooke brandon colorado. What's going on man. J t the brick to camp believe. Everything's good brandon. What do you talk about pal. Hey man i. I wanted to say i appreciate the call first time answer from you. Also i appreciate it Everything you guys are doing. Amer down greg gambling show as no yesterday just once say can't back because it probably won't happen again. Nobody but i wanna talk about the browns. But we are they about to lose his dealers and mason rudolph and do they cover great question brandon. That's really what we're looking phone calls today are really i mean. I guess i won only up from here. You kinda like favorite moment of two thousand twenty it was going to be like a little reminiscent you don't hammer down came into creation. I think he's huge hammered. I've enjoyed the hell out of hammer down. Sports game of podcasts. Out of this office digs myself grumpy. Michael lombardi guppy although his nfl stats Sorry record not showcase. How successful gambler grumpy is because he. That's sports that irrelevant college basketball soccer. Nba i mean he. He's right now generating a lot of capital. Oh yeah dumpy. How do you feel about your game. That so far ballgames not bad we got tulsa going right now plus one and a half okay hammer. Checkup seattle gump did last night. We knew oklahoma going to win this. I can't believe that was a rough outing for trask that are. Let's the trask situation last night for those. That didn't watch. Florida played oklahoma and florida. This is the new year sits so this is the number five number six games. This game means nothing. But it's supposed to mean more than the other shit right. It's not the college football playoff but it's the next biggest game. Allegedly is one of the supposed to be here and yesterday. Whenever i came in in the morning i heard florida was getting four points or four and a half points and i was like. We're hammering florida right or oklahoma for short and gumby and everybody real quickly said no. No no no way playing. And i say transplant. They said yeah and then they put up a graphic right before the show started. Nfl tight end not playing three nfl. Wide receivers not playing in trask. Who is one of the top conversations of quarterback that kinda rose up the charts for florida. He decided to play. And it's very interesting because it kind of puts people in a little bit of a pickle here because the conversation is should these guys sitting out thinking business wise especially for the new year six game which is supposed to be a big time game. Now i guess the four players stars that sat out on the offense of the ball for florida. They did not view it as that big of a game because other right. It's not worth shit. I it might just be the cotton merge might as. Well be a car care bowl because there's nothing you can do moon for like. Oh congratulations you got fifth place. It's not really that big of a bowl. Even though they try to make it a big thing and obviously at some point they're going to expand this playoff. It should this year would have been awesome by the the olds. Dropped get but the players sitting out bowl opting out. A ball games and players playing is a very hot topic conversation. It's a generational thing right. Because whenever you're talking about two different generations you're talking about two different types of humans here to different depths of football players to different types of locker rooms by the way my generation i think was probably at the precipice of the new generation coming in because whenever i was going through school. This wasn't unless you were a top five top ten pick. It was not even thought they were sitting out. You're going to finish it out. You know like hey. This is team. We're gonna finish out the season. We started this. Whenever we were running the hills and morgenthau. We want their training camp. We played all these games. These practices these lifts. And now it's the culmination is here at this time. We don't care what it is. We're at a bowl. We're gonna play this thing. That was kind of the idea that was the mind. That's the older generations minds. Every now you still hear a lot of older folks who come from the locker rooms that i was in the mindset thousand selfish stars or quitting. That's what they're doing on their teammates. But i don't think their teammates view it that way. So teammates don't view it is that way it's hard. I assume for the players to view it as that way because nobody really expects them to play because it's a much more business mindset in locker rooms now now that everybody has the ability to be their own business and to prosper and make their own money it feels like there's a much different mindset from the younger generation on like. Yeah we will do this but also we gotta make sure we set ourselves up and i guess you can blame them for that but it also comes directly after a generation that is an eternal debt because they got fucked over by the entire process. So i think if you kind of take in all the factors into it. You can't really compare this comparing lebron and jordan. You're going to hear older players. Talk about how this is what it was like whenever we were in that. So these guys can't do it but it's a completely different locker room now. It is a completely different world in. It'd be honest trash throwing three interceptions in the first quarter as quarterback. That was very hot. Especially coming off of that. Alabama game dow trask. If you're cal trans people i soon. They're telling him to sit out..

"To just not be so to sneak out of the building. Never happened again and ask for a match or anything I just had this I. still have the mask somewhere. If you didn't come out to winger seventeen than you had a total missed opportunity. I. I? Remember. Funny enough at the music that I had selected for that particular time was a stick fist rule, which is an amazing song, but it's of like a four minute intro. So I had. No one could edit thing. This wasn't like now where it's digital and you can just slide where you want the song like they just have to let that part play, and then I would make my aunt. Meanwhile, realizing like will cares, no one knows who they're waiting for wider waiting so long or what these stupid boggled drums are, and then like. Oh, there's getty kid the masks. So! Your love of tool then comes into things. Obviously as your name evolves correct, that was once probably some friends of mine ripped me mercilessly about being stirling spice and I was completely obsessed with tool and. I've just. This throughout rock and roll, there was Ronnie James Dio. Sterling James Keenan. WHO DO REX! Rex from Panther another. There's a couple of people that had like James Middle Days sure identified it as like a very rock and roll like it sounded cool. Jesse James Do pre like I just thought it sounded really cool, so I was like well I'm just going to gang maynard's last name and middle neighb- tagging. It sounds pretty cool, right and. It stuck. It stuck for awhile. What did you have that? Oh Shit moment that I just had a match that I believe in myself even more now. Um and it's tough to pinpoint like a particular match or an event it. I started traveled a little bit I was getting bookings outside of Pittsburgh which ended up itself. I felt like a Rockstar I was like see. I'm better than everybody in Pittsburgh because I could booked in Cleveland like not really the case, but that's kind of where my mindset was. ABSO- that it just kind of snowballed, I started getting bookings. You know, go to Cleveland I sorta. Go to Philadelphia and the work C. W ARENA FOR Like three P W was called. Which is kind of? Try To pick up the slack where that let off and. Some of the bigger names independence and I do a few shots here and there with ring of honor and I was like others something here I can. I still wasn't making money? I mean I would get paid basically trans wherever you go, and it wasn't until I started I. Really I gotTa break out of nowhere to go to England, and once I did that. That was really when the ball rolling kind of took off well, the names of the guys that you've gone over on. PUNK AJ Styles D Lo Brown Raven all these guys. I think a lot of people. And we'll get some of the concussion stuff in that here in a little bit, but I think a lot of people. Know you because obviously you're with the wwe machine now and you're commentating one of the biggest shows in the world, but a lot of people don't realize that even back enough cw an annex t you were training with the best of the best are the best of the Best I've been around with everybody man. We have like a WHO's who actually talked to agents about it this week on on my podcast after the Bell Bob about just. Just how long I've known these guys how long so many of them have been a part of my life like Aj? Samoa Joe Samoa Joe came to my little brother's graduation party on a whim because we had a wrestling show that night I was like. Hey, my brothers having a party because they're going to be food. Yup, so we went just we punk used to come to my. My parent's house would watch pay per views like. So many of these guys that are still household names. They were contemporaries, and in later years it was kind of to that. Seth rollins generation where he was tyler black, and we were kind of rub a Lotta the same circles and shows and I was always kind of there with these big groups people I'd I never had the luxury of being like the hot indie name where I was like the Darling for for that period of time I had a few stints here and there where people go pretty cool, but I've never had that massive appeal on the independence. With everybody and I've been in the ring with everybody and trained and traveled and. Yes it. Is Kinda funny when I step back? I've realized now that even as long as I've been on WBZ. TV The majority of our audience, only be as the the loud mouth, big mouth, broadcaster right not realizing that I have credibility in that like I've been in the ring with most of these guys, you know what I mean. You've beaten most of these guys. I have well I've I was great about the creative control and. Not Letting anybody. Tarnish my good name. The name of Sterling. Spice nobody can tarnish. So over at FCW is actually we met I remember the day we met. I had. Steve Kernan Industy hadn't come over to do some stuff over. At FCW. Some stuff with Wyndham with Bryant, and with Bo and I think Damien Sandow I did a little run in with and I. Remember meeting you in the back really fast and then I was at a house show in Lakeland right and I walked by, and you're like Jesse cage alert over them like Corey graves. What's up dude and I think we exchanged numbers that night, and and and that was it, but it's just it's funny. I. Eat Oh. How not funny it's! It's cool. How intrical that FCW ANNEX! Evolution has turned into just as big as the big brand. Yet was twenty th I remember that exact same night. I was at the Lakeland Hal show because they would have a handful of. guys go to every like local Florida Market House show to the WB House show it just sign autographs and seventy percent of the crowd had no idea who we were. We were just this table. Set up the concourse like hey, here's my eight by ten and a great. Who are you again? What do you do? It was just an attempt to kind of familiarized our audience that next even existed. And actually I think I think it was an excellent. We started doing that. Maybe it was still FCW I right towards the end up W. Yeah, it's it's entirely possible. We were just out there. Trying to to let people know even existed, and now you look at the monster that is an xt full blown third brand. It's completely crazy. With I WANNA dance around the city I..

I think we're all here for two to celebrate. Our love of this thing to celebrate Royal rumble weekend and to do it properly. Yeah. And I think one of the ways we can do it properly is if I introduced my co host for the evening. This is a guy who never has a negative things said about him on Twitter. He is the voice of Monday night, raw the voice of smackdown. Live the voice of every WWE pay per view. He is whether he knows it or not my he's become my spiritual guru because of his Instagram stories. I don't know how many of you keeping up with his Buddhist quotes that have been popping up. But I love it. He's the savior of misbehavior and he's the love master, ladies and gentlemen, Corey graves. Look at him. Look look at them. Your prayer hands together for Corey graves their per hands. But Sam let's be honest. You already screwed up. My intro. I'm not the love master. I am the world champion of love. I forgot I'm sorry. Made the song fame made them relevant again. Right. It's it's amazing. You know, if you listen to the stories that you tell you went through a period where you wanted nothing to do with wrestling. Yes, I did you through your brother Love's suit out a car window while you were driving into guy, you were gone. Now you're walking around and taking credit for the whole industry. Yeah. What was what was happening? What was going through in your head that period of time when you thought you were done with wrestling and because I just find it so fascinating because clearly you were far from it, we'll bankruptcy happened. I see. For the. Okay, I'll tell this story. Why do you get the goods? I'm gonna give you a story that I only tell them my live shows. Okay. Well, this is a live show. You stop. "Let's move on to story number two and that's raw this week and it's a couple of things number one it's bobby rude bobby rude came out tangled with elias once more by the way if you go back to the superstar shakeup bonus show that's available on youtube and on the podcast feed i clearly said that bobby route should be in a program with elias when he gets over to raw that's what i said i was right you know not pat myself on the back but it's true bobby route should clearly be a bad guy you know right now his entrance gets people excited people like the song but we don't know what a body route is why is he keeps saying he's so glorious he hasn't he was the us champion for a cup of coffee he hasn't won any big matches he hasn't been in any main events he's great anex tea but on the main roster he's been good not glorious he's been good he's been good but he has not been glorious and because of that i think that coming out with a big song with pomp and circumstance with a robe that says your glorious with your arms out like this that feels like a bad guy thing to do to me that feels like something a bad guy would do is proclaimed that he was glorious without really having that much to back it up and i think that that's what you got to cash in on to me on looking at the roster i go i don't really have anything for bobby lashley to do right now.

"I mean it's wrestlemainia time you're still in that wrestlemainia hangover even a couple of weeks after wrestlemainia and the fact that this year it was coupled with the greatest royal rumble incredibly incredibly so the first item in my top five stories of the week is wwe sunday night heat coming to the wwe network now this may not be news to some of you i don't know if you consider it straight wrestling news but for me i think it's amazing i think it's the best news of the week i'm i only put it number five because i thought some of you might not agree with me but sunday night heat is coming to the wwe network it's supposed to be coming this monday may eighth and i can't wait until that library is up there i'm really glad sadder wcw saturday night is there i want them to add more shows i love like ninety three wcw saturday night ww saturday tonight ninety three it might not be the greatest show in the world but it's what i watched as a kid so that's what i really want up there but sunday night heat is amazing and it really sunday he captures how hot wwe was at that time because now we look at ron smackdown as the main shows and every other show whether it's superstars or main event or or whatever else is out there kind of secondary you know what i mean you just kind of throw some matches together and it's really because you have a deal overseas or syndication or whatever.

"In the world of pro wrestling it's just subtlety is not an art that's practiced by the superstars of the wwe by design however he is in the number one movie in the world and i think he's going to continue to be a big star but it's really interesting because you know it came up again this week that apparently batista was looking for some kind of wrestlemainia appearance and was ghosted by the wwe batista wants to come in and out of wwe and build towards a triple h batista match at wrestlemainia which was supposed to be in the works apparently is what batista says but triple h isn't responding to his text anymore i would imagine as successful as the avengers was then as much as the story is getting everywhere but teesta has been responded to i think that if he were looking to get that response mission accomplished because i find it difficult to believe that batista's still not getting responded to but you know i do think that i think the batista and the way he was handled in his last run has gained him a certain amount of respect from the audience i think his movie career and the way his last run went is going to make it so when batista comes back the next time he's going to be beloved it's not going to be anything like it was the first time the fact that people were pissed because they realized that petillo was just coming back to win the championship and nobody wanted to see it the fact that he didn't and daniel bryan one he was honest about it in every interview he did the byebye in quit on his own terms again and since then has come across as so likeable and such a legitimate fan and has been so successful and all these movies i really think of petit comes back for one more run it's going to be the run that he deserved when he came back the first time like i think it's finally we're finally ready for real special moment with dave batista and i think.

"And what the or tuesday i should say sorry tuesday tuesday and into tuesday night and they had to wait till the last minute because cain won his primary by only seventeen votes less than one percent seventeen votes but all you need to do is win by one kane is the republican candidate for mayor and i really ob wins i think that as fans we should all support everything did these superstars do outside of the ring and when they start entering into positions that are so important like politicians i think it's the greatest thing in the world like i think it's the best thing ever for wrestling jesse ventura was the governor canes going to be the mayor booker t might be the mayor at some point it's just it's great to see wrestlers prosper and i think that it's something that we should celebrate and one of the wrestlers that is prospering more than most is batista but tista is in the number one movie in the world guardians of the galaxy he does a great i mean i didn't see not i'm sorry not guardians of the galaxy avengers he's one of the guardians of the galaxy i saw the first two guardians of the galaxy i haven't seen this adventures movie yet everybody says it's absolutely fabulous i'll tell you batista was great in the two guardians movies especially the second one i thought he was really able to to flex his comedy muscle a little bit in that second one the subtlety that he delivers his lines with is really really cool and that's something you see too much.

"I'll say it out because he's obviously saying that for a reason that's something he wants conveyed how often do you does that it depends depends on the week there weeks where i will not hear his voice and there are weeks where i can't even hear my own voice it's going oh my god but it's so yeah it's kind of like we're where everything meets be right we're the last the last gate before the world but do you feel like you've you've learned a lot about why decisions are made on the i've learned an entirely new side of the business i spent what fifteen years on the indies and fcw in annexed t as a wrestler and you learn certain things you get a better ideas to why things are but now walking that line there's a lot of things that i would have just been just as quick to say this is so stupid why on earth would you do that nobody knows about that and then you go oh wait a minute i kind of get it now and taking in consideration this isn't you know your mom and pop indie fed anymore this is a global corporation a publicly traded company their responsibilities that you and i will never understand i could work there for twenty years and still have no idea why this thing happened but because of some business deal in some country part of their contract was we're gonna do this thing it happens and you go that was dumb but then you go way we like having money to put on good business threat and the same way because you've been in a ring i can sit there and go like that that move that just happened doesn't make any sense and you can go whoa sam like you actually don't really know what you're talking about it does make sense and here's why you haven't run a multimillion dollar company so it's like when they go like yeah i know you don't get this but you're you have to trust and you're like you know what i guess it should great analogy mcmahon i think this is dumb it's not gonna work out but i've i've been in the meetings and heard the boss say some things and go i'm went there's no way there's no way and sure enough i'm out there and it happens in the crowd erupts and i go tanit.

"Sure and if you guys are lost like i honestly think that history will look at that roman brock manche differently because of the ending and in effect that the audience was you know say what you want about that match all the chance stops because they were shocked chance were based on the fact that everybody thought they knew the match was going one way and it went a different way which really should be a lesson yeah exactly i mean just like give it a minute and then take a big grab all over it if you want but give it a second but yeah i mean if you if you make it about the fact that the crowd is getting antsy then you take away from this moment that is going to live in history right yeah and also i got i get a lot of stuff the raw and smackdown after wrestlemainia riotous crowd everyone's crazy and it's not your typical wwe crowd is sometimes they cheer who they boo because historically that's what happened with gordon again we're not trying to insult those quote unquote in the know right but for as much as you watch wwe and you think you know every thing about every aspect of the business if you're that smart about the business you realize that there are three million people watching at home that don't understand why roman reigns is being booed to my oh maybe not the best example he's he's more regular but in the past is getting getting this like the hero's welcome because because it's the smartest fans in that building and they appreciate talent and people that are doing things well or cool at the time but if i only watched raw once a month or i'm only i just saw resume and let me watch raw.
