"Would have rather seen the astros in the world series against the dodgers rather than the raise. I go foul. is a foul ball. And the reason I say that is I watch a lot of baseball I listened to a lot of baseball. There's not a lot of people in the country that wanted to see the Houston Astros in the world series again after what they did twenty seventeen, we've never forgiving countries. Wait till next year to ask those are still going to hear about what they did two years ago without being fed me myself, I wanted them to. Win because I'm a huge dusty Baker Fan I, just love the show the dusty put on the entire playoffs with everything you've talked about the people really got a sense of wild special he really is but trust me most folks did not want the Astros. So the raise their they've earned it they were the best team in the American League, and now they'll go up against the dodgers or the best team in the National League. WHO'S A rat rod stopping? It's fair. It's a fair ball come on rematch the world series in which the Astros cheated. Now, here's the dodgers chance to get revenge. Imagine the storylines they would have been selling that left and right and if by chance the astros had worn, it actually would have been good for baseball 'cause then base wall ball would have been able to say and fans would have been like you know what? They really were the best team. They really are that good. Yeah. They cheated but they still for the best team in baseball. So there is no way major league baseball prefer Tampa over the astro. Are Scheme. That question, but they did not want to see the Astros in the world series nobody did I think. I think that both of you guys may very fair point I like both of but I'm GonNa go with Chris and fair fair ball only from the standpoint that yes the rematch. And being you know you always want a villain. The Astros would have been the villain in the world series and the dodgers would have been the guys on the white horses and one other thing. I don't think it's really fair I think that the. Rays have an advantage because of the small crowd that are going to be at globe life they're gonNA have it advantage? They'll be feeling like they really played at home in Tampa with small. Town. That was uncalled for rob. You got to be wrong. I. A lot of different sports. We keep it moving question number two fowler fair the Aqaba Fox Sports Radio Rod Cody bellinger hit what amounted to be the game winning homer during game seven of the. And probably separated his shoulder. Later, when he was celebrating with his team manager Dave Roberts conceded bellinger's not one hundred percent. He could have issue swinging the bat with that bump shoulders. Here's the question is if foul or fair to say, the dodgers will be better off sent him bellinger to the bench during the series. That's foul to that is a foul. I mean, this guy's a game changer I mean the plays that he makes them the outfield and he's already ran into a couple of them in the playoffs they ran into a big wouldn't just the other day you gotTa have been there. My only question is what's wrong. With Enrica, Hernandez the guy that gave him at four on they need to sit him down. He's letting too many ways McCoy, balance your. Line of the dodgers as talented. But this was rookie of the year and you also was an MVP and another thing speaking from a professional standpoint as the hitting coach when you have a guy that has an injury like that to the shoulder he kind of slows everything down swing blue shorter he gets off tonight in my opinion he's up something special in their series that would be corey bellinger. I would say foul, that is a foul ball. To. Change Your Mind No. No. No. I'll put them out. There I would pay. Your mind no I'll put them out there and An monitor it it swing in about fine he plays if he doesn't and he struggle not take them out. Yeah. I'm file as well as a foul. I, mean how many times have we seen a great player? Even just an average player step up through injury and play well, even though they're injured. So I'm we rob you see what he can do if he's clearly hurt, not swinging a bat will tell you nothing you can take him out but I try and schork. Is Willing to sacrifice out. That's cool. All right. Last question here Fowler Fair Rod. Allen, with the couple. The raise bats have been asleep for most of these players surprising to say that they're in the world series it all two, nine it. So nine and there in the world series averaging just four point run four point one runs per game during the postseason on the flipside Dr Jefferson to seventy averaging six point two game. So Rod here's the question is if foul or fair the RAVES. Have Zero chance of winning this title unless they start hitting better. That's fair. That's fair ball. And you talked about the fact that they're in to nine. Randy arose out of that lineup. One eighty five as a team. So the one thing that the dodgers have to do is they cannot keep. Man. For the next couple of days until he kind of cools down and they gotta make somebody else brandon low or Zunino SORTA hot kind of being but there's no question. They've got the swing the bat better if they're going to pay the dodgers, the dodgers quite frankly they kick with the raise and if it wasn't for as the out degree Ale and also Bregman made for Houston in the NFL and. Then, he wouldn't even be the race would be Houston so they raised definitely gotta get better don't beat doctors no doubt about that. But I'm looking forward to watching Randy Klay game that would be a rose arena. Saying file that is a foul ball they got here hidden poorly, they beat the freaking. Yankees of all people teams, they hit home runs and and obviously they beat the Astros who were playing great in the postseason look date. Obviously you WanNa hit better but I'm not gonNA say they have absolutely no chance if they don't improve the bats four runs a game that's still enough to win a lot of cases so I'm five I'm just Travel the questions right down the middle. But what you don't compare the realize but dot gravitating let Randy arose arena ninety gonNA walk him every time you come up but I'm GONNA go with Ou- from this standpoint at is a foul ball in the postseason good pitching stops good hitting. We've seen the dodgers with this lineup go silent we saw it happen goals bats go away and you can wind up losing good pitching Rod Allen and you know this beats good hitting anytime especially in the short series three, you guys are playing reverse psychology. La Right way you're both sitting in La Right. Now I, know you're rooting for the dodgers but yet you're sending like some other stuff out this. Series dodgers inside Godoi Alagoas sayings. Dodgers. But I, you know we've seen some great world series recently. Yes. So I think I'll see five I just ask six, seven, six. Six or seven Rod. Great stuff roddy, most of the time but Grayson. We. Know that. Parker's NFL power rankings or next I, turn your wallet. Johnny good nears. Get it. Five. Keeping. Vox Wars. News. Radio..
No knocking Bellinger's homer celebration in World Series

"Yeah it is busy man. There is so much going on today. Thanks for tuning in. Thanks a lot for jumping in and Ireland. Did you play around a golf today? That where you were. No no no. I practiced a little. It's not going GONNA help you my big rematch against Travis yet. He's a week from Saturday and Travis's better than me so need to like play a little bit over my head to beat them. It does not look good. I'll keep you posted but I think very soon I'm GonNa have to do the because what we bet is what Travis I bet is. The loser has to do a double shift so one day soon. I'm going to have to do the morning show and then come back and do our show. I've done it once our. It's a long day but if I do it once if I upset him if I pull off the upset then you get Travis Firday okay. I'll take transfer day so we'll see what happens. Yeah that's a week from Saturday. Can I? Can I talk a little bit? About how bad. My dodgers all time team is. Yeah I want to go full steinbrenner on my team and just cut them all. I mean they were off last week. They got three hits against Sodano team. Three hits with all these supposed- IT Corey bellinger Adrian. Bell TRAE AND PEDRO. Guerrero all these. You know what they were. There are a bunch of one hit wonders. They couldn't hit Kershaw. The these guys couldn't it water if they fell out of Sandy Koufax threw a good game. What are you talking about Gable Homerun to cory seager gave up a home run to a lefty? Yeah I would. I would intimate if I knew how to do it. He allowed just two runs. You would think that with your high-powered lineup. You would be able to score enough to overcome to a two run deficit. You would think but my team stunk. There I've got a what sidelined. What did they say? Sloppy MC pop up. I should've taken. That's how you make guys call one. Peer Yeah my guys couldn't get it out of the Infield you on your game. I did win. Yeah you lost your game to George scenario to nothing. I ended up jumping out to a lead on Sodano before Don Drysdale melted down and ended up seven six and Jeff Shaw hung on for the Save. So I'm WANNA know Sodano is one in one owner one in your own one right. I play yet speaking to you and if you win. I'm out and rise. Dale versus Colfax teammates. Yeah based on last night's performance of I could bit mythical money I'd bet on your team. My team is a budget a banjo. Hits really bad to be the favourite in these games. Yeah apparently because because Saddam was the big favourite in the Lakers. All Time game and he didn't win a game. Yep and if I lose tonight I'm going out the same way I'm asleep man. I'm asleep and every one of these games sleeper. I was the only chance to be undefeated in both the all time dodgers and all-time Lakers tournaments Toronto's coming on with us in a few minutes by the way so we can you know I was surprised that well I know what you're listening to get into but did not like that. Nfl STORY TODAY. You didn't like the NFL story. In what respect doesn't okay so I let me let me tell you what the NFL story is our Buddy Jim Trotter. Who now writes the NFL network? Mason and I. I met him when he wrote for the NFL covered the chargers for the San Diego Union Tribune back in the nineties. So we've known him for a long time really good dude. He is reporting that the owners are going to vote this week. Mace and this is pretty extraordinary that they've decided the Rooney rule doesn't work that the Rooney rule is you must if you have an opening for GM or a head coach. You must interview and consider minority candidates right but it like for example Martin and the fact is that three of the past twenty openings have gone to minority three of twenty is actual number and two of the three were fired after either one year two years right but like my team. The raiders. Mark Davis didn't even talk to another person. You know they made up some bogus story to comply with the Rooney rule but he was hiring. Jon Gruden the whole time. Yes so they've taken a pretty extraordinary step if they if they pass this. They're going to if they pass it. Give a team six spots to move up in the third round of the draft if they hire a black or minority head coach. And if you hire a black or minority head of football operations basically. Gm you to move up ten spots so maze if you hire both if you hire black GM and a black coach you to move up like let's say you were taking you're the first pick of the third round. Yep you move into the middle of the second round. Yeah you move up sixteen spots but tonight or doesn't like it. I'll let him explain. Why but I think the heart of his argument is it's just it reeks of Tokenism. And what they should do. Not Tokenism Tokenism when you interview. Eric B enemy. And you know you're not GonNa hire them all along. This would be a case of. I think this would be a case of affirmative action right. But I think Georgia's point is look. Why don't you just identify qualified minority candidates earlier? But I don't WanNA speak for him. Let's see what he he's coming up in minutes all right so the news came out today that with the stay at home order somewhat easing right now in. Los Angeles as of today tomorrow the Lakers will have a limited access to their training facility in El Segundo which is great news. I watch Chris Paul in the jump today and think they're gonNA play I I can't guarantee it. I'm probably taking the optimistic view. But when you get the star players and you start to open up the practice facilities and you've got Adam silver seeming to wanting to seeming to want to cut a deal. I think it's looking good. I don't know what I don't know is and not that this should be a race. These decisions should be based on medical concerns and safety. But you and I've been thinking the whole time that baseball's coming back I yes maybe the NBA beats them. I don't know who's the. Nba Three weeks of training. Camp Right does baseball and now the NBA is at least opening up camps. Baseball hasn't done that yet. Well they're not. There's a difference though between opening up camp and opening your facility for limited workouts were given. He's even in that have they know they're they've they're planning for spring training in June three weeks June the later the I mean I would be shocked if somehow the NBA move past the major league baseball in time line only because the major league baseball has been so more clear about its timeline. I mean they've got they've got civic plans. We know that there's a hundred page document. Bob Nightingale told us with all kinds of safety protocols that doesn't mean that the NBA not working on exactly the same thing. It's just we haven't heard hard dates and we don't know exactly any gates. Sam Amick wrote that. If the playoffs are not played they there will be a loss of revenue for the NBA of nine hundred million dollars. They will also lose a whole bunch of that regional sports network money because they will not have played seventy regular season games to reach that financial threshold. So there's an awful lot of money at stake in this and it seems to me that the the thing that makes the most sense is sort of the. I think we're getting away from the bubble concept and going more towards at least Sam Amick wrote about this today. A campus approach in other words. We're going to have a campus where the Games are being played. People will be able to come and go but there will be a whole bunch of testing that will be a whole bunch of temperature checks and but but you won't necessarily be kept from your family for a period of six weeks or seven weeks or however long that takes point nine hundred million if they don't come back well it's now it's starting to get a little. I don't know if awkward. So right word but strange like Arizona and Florida are clearly open for business other states aren't and now you've got to make some decisions here as to what you're going to allow your citizens to do and that all these plans you and I are talking about. Maybe we mentioned yesterday. Maybe the Lakers. And the dodgers never play Games in. La. You know we. We got a posture. That totally dodgers could end up in Arizona. The Lakers could end up in Vegas or Orlando. We just don't know the answers yet. Did you know I read something interesting? Did you know that the the Strip in Las Vegas is not part of the city of Las Vegas? I did not know that. So weirdest thing in the world right so the mayor of Las Vegas has no control over when the casinos can actually reopen because the strip is not part of the city of Las Vegas. That's why Vegas is talking about doing all kinds of crazy stuff to try to get the casinos owes back open vegas and Disneyworld or the two. That seem to make the most sense. This is what amy cronies said. Of course the E in and the UFC is going on in Florida There have been forty two thousand cases in Florida of Kobe. Eighteen hundred twenty seven deaths but an orange county where Orlando is. The cases have been kept mostly under control fifteen hundred cases in thirty six desk. So it's not in in a in by the way those are human lives so I don't want to gloss over that but the fact is it's in an area where it has been more contained and the counts of people with cases have been kept lower so that makes it more of an ideal spot. I think to go to. Plus you've got the Bob Iger relationship with the NBA. Bob Eiger and his relationship with Adam. Silver I just think in the End Walt Disneyworld is probably the one that's GonNa make the most sense. Well you know what you could do it it just to minimize travel. You could do the Western Conference in Vegas and the Eastern Conference in Orlando absolutely could. That's another option. Yeah especially you know you and I have talked a lot about how you want to control the size of groups. Yup that's one way to do it keeping in mind that when your team gets eliminated it leaves. It lasts the campus. So like if you send eighteen US Vegas and eight teams to Orlando. Those that becomes a little easier environment control. I would think but I'm not privy to those conversations and I think one thing Adam silver always does. He says he's in contact with doctors and medical officials. Sir I mean he'll present that when when he present that case now. Dwight Howard was on a Zoom press conference today. We've got a little bit of if you pull that up punch he. He talks about how frustrated he is. And how much? He misses basketball right now and here. He is on whether he will report to the Lakers facility soon..

"An overall lack of organizational cohesiveness is something that can really lower a ceiling for a team. I don't think the rockies heavy high ceiling I would have to go under with them. If anything with a season went total here of seventy three and a half very hard to really like going under that total because again they will be very good offensively at the Los Angeles dodgers here. Their season with total one zero one and a half. This is a team that could very well have the best pathet career win loss record ever now. I don't think that they beat. You're the two thousand one mariners with one hundred sixteen wins or match the ninety eight. Yankees with one hundred. Fourteen wins anything like that but this is a team. That probably will have very high win. Totals in their alternate standings metrics. Up win-loss base runs and third order. Win Percentage Look last year. This is the dodgers team at outscored. The opposition by two hundred seventy three runs. And they're better this year. They've got mookie Betts. They've got even more pitching depth with a guy like Alex would now back with a guy like Dustin may having graduated to the Major Leagues Clayton. Kershaw now back in his cy young form Walker. Buehler's guy that will win one. David Price looks really really sharp here in training so far. That's a big deal for the dodgers who do have to replace innings from hundred review in Kenton my eight if they can do that with David. Price AND ALEX. Wood and dusted may some other guys. Maybe Julio Uriel is a guy that does that. This is an elite pitching staff with an elite offense. They were the best defensive team in baseball last year. By defensive run say there are no flaws on this dodger Steve? There just aren't any. This is at elite baseball team and they are deep across the board you know. They've got bats corey. Bellinger cody bellinger. Excuse me who are probably second and third behind Mike Trout in terms of best position players in baseball. And they're on the same damn team. Max seek it. Hit Justin Turner can hit John. Petersen's a great platoon bat quite got it riquet Hernandez hit. Aj pollick probably going to be in a platoon situation with jock. Petersen Cory seager can play they still have Gavin. Looks are this team is loaded to the Gills. I mean they are absolutely incredible. Their pitching staff is almost as good as the lineup. And this pet you know one of the Nice things one of the luxuries of having a lot of starting pitching depth. Is that guys that? Don't make the rotation like a like A. Tony God. Solid like dusted may look at Dennis. Santana you put those guys in the bullpen. And the reason the guys don't make an as starters is generally because they don't have a third pitch. That's really good. Or maybe they've got some if he commands something like that. Those guys work in short bursts. No they only have to throw to pitches. Show that third every now and then just have good command for an inning or two as opposed to stretch out over five or six minutes so this bullpen should be really good to a pickup blake. Training ethic is about fat candidate in his own. Right Kenley. Jansen will probably be a little bit better. I think Caleb Ferguson could be better. They've got guys like Adam Caloric. This is not without flaws. Mad At me very dominant baseball team. If you look at their base runs record last year one hundred ten windsor plus two eighty six in run differential by third order. Win Percentage Fourteen Games. There are fifty one in twenty five against the teams in the division. I don't think any of that changes. They've got lucky that snow if got better pitching depth now. Why does this team get any worse? I don't think that they do now. They've got some platoon players on the bench. Like I mentioned already and all that depth man and look would you talk in the context of WRC? Plus you get waited runs created plus which is park adjusted league adjusted and it's adjusted for the run environment in Major League Baseball last year. The Houston Astros headache. One hundred twenty-five WRC plus they were twenty five percent better than league average the all time leader in WRC plus is the nineteen twenty seven New York Yankees. They had a one twenty six WRC plus. I waited screen. Plus I think that the Los Angeles dodgers will be the best offense ever in the history of major league base- ever WRC plus keep in mind. They're not going to post Boba numbers or anything like that. Like the twenty-seven Yankees because teams only struck out nine ten percent of the time back then. That obviously doesn't happen anymore. Teams even your best strikeout eighteen percent of the time but I do think with WRC plus which is park league and run environment adjusted. The dodgers could have the best offense ever in Major League Baseball. So obviously over is the play here in fact even though as a general rule. I tend to stay away from the extremes. I've may end up. Playing this dodgers over specially with them staying healthy through spring training and David price looking pretty good in the process. Let's go to the San Diego padres season with total eighty. Three and a half. And Look if you want a strong opinion on the San Diego padres you would have to look somewhere else. I think this team could win seventy I could win ninety. I don't know where they fall to be. This is the single highest various team in Major League Baseball. How do the kids do? How do the kids develop Fernando? Totti's over full season could be elite. Could be a top ten player in Major League Baseball. What about everybody else? They add Tommy Fan who I really really liked Tommy. Fam- hits the ball violently hard of very very good edition for this padres team last year player with a partially torn UC L. says. He's fine now could be very very good. Manny Machado a down year last year for him and also his contact metrics down among the lowest in the stack cast their for him in terms of exit. Velocity and hard hit percentage. What about the rest of this lineup? We Know Eric. Ha's was not a good hitter. We know that we could get growth from Francisco Mahia from Franci Cordeiro cricket that Machado Bounce back that I mentioned already dot decent should be just fine. What about the rest of this lineup? Though I think there are a lot of questions outside of the top guys in this lineup so I don't know what exactly the is offensively here for the San Diego Padres and when you talk about a team it's gotTa win total mid eighties. I mentioned the diamondbacks could be league average offense but I love their pitching staff. I liked them over the total. You can have one league average unit whether it's the offense or the pitching but the other side needs to make up and I don't know where this padres team falls. I think offensively they could be league. Average if t-totes famine Machado are really good and maybe they get some other contributions from some of the other guys. Playing a trick. Grisham for example is always carried a high percentage of all of his stops. But I also don't know where this pitching staff falls now. We'll see this. I'm a lot more optimistic about the pitching staff. Then I am a lot the offense because you've got a a loaded bullpen. This bullpen is the best baseball with Kirby Gates. Emilio Pagan drew pomeranz match stroem. I love this pope and this is the best ball pendant baseball to maybe the raise could be a little bit better. They're wanting to probably one. A and one B. I would say in the lead up to the season here. What about this rotation? You'll ever to look at Chris. Paddock and see that Chris. Paddock is the breakout guy. And maybe he is the guy to be the guy. I'm going to try to bet on a lot earlier in the season. Is Joey Lucchessi? Last year Joey Lucchessi shaved more than six percent off of his home. Run for fly. Ball percentage with the biggest power search season we've ever seen is barrel percentage was down his heart. Hit percentage was down so his command took a big leap in a season. In which a lot of guys fell off of the command trained. I liked joy. Lucchessi a lot. He's a guy that I have circled this season. As a breakout type of candidate Chris Paddock could obviously be very good Chris. Paddock needs to develop a third pitch. I'm sure that's what he worked on. All offseason log should be very good good command guy. Good swing and miss sky. So they've got a lot of pieces and parts to work with your limit guy that this guy that comes back now and it's always important will get guys like limit because last season lamb. It was rehabbing. This season limit was preparing. There's a big difference between rehabbing in preparation for a season and getting ready for a season while healthy so limit could be a breakout guy himself. We'll see how long Garrett Richards is able to stay healthy is always got very good stuff. Heavy sinker good slider but the thing about the padres is the future is coming. Quick Tennessee Gore Adrian. John Lewis Patino. The shell by Michael Pious. They've got prospect arms with massive ceilings. Coming up here. At some point this sees that elevates this starting staff a lot potentially after the all star break. This is a team that could get off to a slow start and eventually wind up surpassing their expectations. They are a team. I will look at the all-star break to see if I wanNA take an adjusted season win total over tasting. Where the new manager? A Bilingual Guy. A metric sky again that cohesive issue throughout the organization. The PADRAS could be really good. They could also fall short of expectations. I don't know I lean under with them because I'm not quite sure that they're there yet. But I have no interest in betting the padres season win total at all here for this season finally in the National League West year the San Francisco giants their season. Total sixty nine and a half at this. One is heavily juice to the under and this was a bet for me. I did bet the giants under sixty nine and a half year. They go from Bruce Bocce to Gabe Kappler. And this is a dramatic change. You're talking about a respected veteran. Guy In Bruce Bochy now you gotta give Kappler Younger Guy. A new school guy of metric sky fitness free. How does this veteran lated team respond to a guy like Gabe Kaplan? I don't think it does particularly well because you've got a lot of guys that are very set in their ways. A lot of long time Major League Baseball veterans here on this team. I don't know if they respect Gabe cap. I don't know if this permeates the entire major league roster they're trying to go all in with analytics they've got far. Zaidi who's running things for them from the dodgers from Mit Ivy League background with analytics. Do I understand the Kappler Higher? I just think you've got a lot around or a lot of round pegs. You're in this light up and a lot of square holes and I don't think this works. I don't think this works at all for this season. Now that's a little bit of a narrative based judgement on my part what there's another method to the madness here with the giants in that. Last year they won seventy seven games. Thirty eight of them were by one run. They were thirty eight and sixteen in one run games. What are the best records at one? Run Games dating back over the last thirty years so they were already excuse me may regression kid. They were already team. I was looking to go against for.

"The say. Hey kid. Right. David sa. Yeah. And that's pretty cool. I mean look the last three years this has been a lot of fun to follow this team. It's been unreal. I mean coming so close to game seven of the World Series. They're planning the parade. Right. And then they lose to the ash show. Last year you kind of knew they were gonna lose the Red Sox. Once they fell behind in that series but fun. All right. So yes, you're listening to the game. Actually, I'm watching it here because we have we have, you know, by the way, if you have spectrum cable, does the dodgers station come with. Do you have to pay for it comes with it? Really? Yes. That's a good reason to get spectrum. Absolutely. And I live here in Burbank, so you can get spectrum. I love I ordered spectrum. They dropped off the box. Now, the guy's got to come out and get up. Let's not good. Well, no, that's what they do. They bring the equipment. I send you the guy shows up two days later in connects everything. Okay. I'm sure I can see the dodgers at home. You're one of few. That's great. Always listen to on the radio five seventy. Yeah. All right. So who is a mad hill? Richhill richhill. Yeah, the thirty nine year old left-hander Richaud was placed on the injured list today with a strain in his left forearm. No good. Yeah. That Tommy John right back in twenty eleven. The good thing is this is a different ligament, which is right next to the Tommy, John ligament, which is the UC L. This is right next to it. It's a strain, which is not good. He's not going to pick up a baseball for a month. No. Then he can start throwing again. So what David Vasa who's actually out at the stadium today is saying is that it's looking like, post all-star break August, is when Richhill the thirty nine year old veteran lefthanders a free agent at the end of the year will most likely come back for the dodgers. Oh, that's horrible. You having a good year. He's having a great season not as good as Walker bueller. And of course you engine reuse gonna start the all star game most likely for the dodgers for the National League, but still haven't a really good year. Hey, somebody sent a comment too. I think it was Rogan of rogue. Show. Oh, no. And said that later this month on Joe Kelley bobblehead doll. Uh-huh. That bobblehead we'll give up four runs. Well, they just had Joe Kelley bobblehead night the couple of nights ago, there was a lot of worry whether or not, they should give vouchers to pick it up on the way out. Maybe people start throwing the Joe Kelly. Joe Kelly had a really bad start. They pay them a lot of money three years, twenty five million dollars. Beat the dodgers with the Red Sox last year. I remember that he signed with the dodgers has an awful, I six weeks. I mean awful getting booted Dodger Stadium. The thing is he's actually pitched very well the last month, not well enough that dodger fans are gonna lay off of him but he is certainly certainly much better. But this this, you know, with Kershaw and in you with who's the other guy that was that got arrested. He's pitching tonight for the dodgers pitching tonight, because they need more starting pitching twenty two year old left-hander you know, if you're, you're is he, he got arrested for at the Beverly center, some altercation, right? Fortunately for him. I mean and very bad news for me. It was on may fourteenth this happened. Okay. It happened to be the day that my father passed away. And so that was the big story. So they buried his story that would have been the big story, right? And in local media, it was buried because they did they were doing so much coverage of. My dad's stories life in his career. Fortunately for him that wasn't didn't have like a week earlier week later because that would have been a huge story. Yeah. Guess all charges were dropped. Yeah. They didn't have enough to charge him because I guess there was a video, but then they couldn't get a hold of the video. So whatever happened video who knows? He can get hold of everything. And the fact that they couldn't get ahold of the video that says a lot, all right now, we're having a banner year, being Corey Bellinger. Right. Cody Cody Bellinger. I this could be MVP NBC. He's, he's come back down to earth a little bit. He was hitting over four hundred which was unreal. Ted Williams like the last guy to hit over. Okay. He sitting like three fifty something now which is a little bit. You know, down to earth, but still really good twenty four. Home runs not leading major league baseball. He's having a great season though. MVP a month ago. Yes. But now that he's cooled off in. It's more human probably not. But you remember because you're a dodger fan you go way back with the dodgers when they used to have like five or six great players. And then seven eight nine were always, you know, you went to get a burger or whatever they can't leave your seat now. No used to be able to the bathroom when the number eight hitter was up right now. You can't because the number eight hitters hitting sixteen home runs. And it will come up likely did last night. He hit a grand slam. I mean yeah they're just it's ridiculous. How good this team is on this team. Hey is first of all. How many games are they head of the second place team in the day came into tonight's game nine and a half games up on the Colorado? Wow. Is that right? And the Rockies come to town starting tomorrow. So the dodgers if they win that series this weekend, they'll be twelve and a half games up. That's great. On the Rockies fifty and twenty five say the San Diego Padres, down south, they get Manny Machado. They've won what four rose seven of ten. They're the Padres. And they're playing out of their minds right now. And they're like twelve and a half games. They just can't catch up. I mean just there the Padre stuff to do it. Very tough Padre. Still give the dodgers. Some trouble know it's always been a going into San Diego, if they don't win the World Series Okon wait huge disappointment to win it this year. I mean dodger fans it's what June, whatever it is right? And all care about October. First. Can we get talked to over I already can we get to the and can we face the Red Sox over going to face in the World Series October? First the last day of the season or the first day of post, I think technically September twenty ninth or thirtieth, whatever that last weekend is. And then the first week October's when the playoffs starts excellent. Yeah. Justin Turner is usually the big story really good season three hundred. But he's just one of after thought he just one of ten stories on that team now by the way, go to dodgers dot com slash vote. Dodgers dot com slash vote. This is a great team. They really can hit this at the other thing. I watching this, I'm watching these pitches. He's trolling sliders breaking over the middle of the plate. I saw, oh my God now days, where you're in gain managing is this is flabbergasted me. Okay. How in God's name, do you pitch to Corey Bellinger? You gotta get to home runs. He didn't even commander. The Doug app to talk to the catch is a site. What, what, what, what pitches is he going to slide a good talk to the never came out of the dugout? So you get to home runs. Bless. Okay. Then you get a double pitched Bellinger. No, no, no. You're, you're walk down you bring in that left. You're talking about that. That's engagement. He doesn't realize his mistake. Very known of the only reason I'm interrupting John in your points. Well taken it's on the record certainly respected. It's a good second. Guess if you will. But we have to take a break of four the flash. And the and the bottom line is I had the same thought watching both Syndergaard and bueller. And both of them throws ninety six ninety seven ninety eight I think one hundred with one or two of the Vichit Syndergaard was throwing but right over the plate and very Hannibal for a major league good major league player because eventually they catch up with those fast balls seven o'clock the time, and we are going for the next couple of hours, the rain out, of course, with the Yankees and Boston, you know, from the one eight seven seven three three seven six six six six. "Correct. I got the right World Series though. Yeah. But you didn't pick. You didn't do what you did against the ring. Sure, he's was dodgers versus Astros Yankees versus dodge Yankees versus document almost hat. You almost had it. You just missed. And then I don't know that you know. I just missed. I was there. We all had the dodgers winning, by the way. Yeah. Yeah. 'cause we're in L A, and we love the dodgers. I'm not picking the dodgers this year. I'm picking them. This is the year. So am I this is absolutely the year? I can feel it in my in my bites. Let me ask you a question. What makes either one if you think this dodgers team is better than the one last year that didn't win? What you add back? Cory seager. Who wasn't who wasn't here last year? The people forget how is hurt to pitchers are hurt. That's the whole rich pit. Yeah. But Clayton Kershaw will be backed by may the first that's no big deal Richhill will be back sooner or later and Clayton Kershaw. Like, I look at construction. If you tell me he's going to be backed by may, I just add six weeks to it. You had six weeks to think about it. Like, if you ever when's the last time you had any major construction if they work on your kitchen, they tell you the thing will be done in five weeks. It's really ten to twelve weeks. Greg. He threw a two inning sim game yesterday in Anaheim, do you know how that went? I do not. Okay. 'cause walker. Bueller? Threw a five inning sim game was able to play catch again. No kershaw's thrown from the mount he's thrown a sim game. So he's actually on the mound in pitching. It's just they're stretching them out and get him settled in because he didn't pitch much during spring training. He really only wanted up catching or thrown bullpens. I love AJ Pollock. I think he is a phenomenal center fielder. I think Corey Bellinger as breakouts. Big of a word phenomenal. He's serviceable center fielder. He's better than you know, just a guy, but he's not phenomenal. I think is phenomenal eats is even a top ten center fielder in baseball. Did wouldn't you say phenomenal for top three? What's what's his war? I know I consider that to be a major upgrade for the question that Greg's answer that question was exactly the answer in the movie trading places. When the denigrate gets caught in the beginning and eighty it's gotten the beginning. And he says is there a lawyer in the house and everybody goes home? I don't know he had a two point five war last year two point four point one the year before. Yeah. So he's he's worth two or three wins. But nominal butter better war just short of phenomenal better war than Bryce Harper life better than price at a weird year. No, he always has a weird year. I think that I think that signing will ultimately be a bust. The phillies. Let's to our baseball predictions next. Unless you wanna do this football rule thing that we we read that wrong yesterday. And then all of a sudden now, we still don't know. Well, no idea in its or no idea. The Lakers Lonzo starts to come back in a couple of weeks. So you don't know what that's gonna it's still like to basically, I'm going to ask you this question to last question for you member. We're a quarter way through the season us at tell me about the Lakers. Wh what do we know about the Lakers? And it was like, oh, well, you know, LeBron is really good. They're going to be okay. We expected this record to be there. And they've already exceeded it then it was the next twenty games. Like, oh, the Lakers are on their way. And then it was that middle. We're we're in right now at twenty games where they've missed LeBron the unthinkable happened. He got injured right to a point where I ask you now in this final twenty five games this last quarter of the season. We still don't know what the Lakers. Are you get what I'm saying? Like warriors. Okay. They're going. They're going to do nothing. Okay. You'll get Denver like, okay. Dimmers won't be good. We'll look at you know, obviously, Philadelphia Philadelphia all God. They're good Toronto just got Microsoft. They're like a lot of teams have identities right now, the identity is LeBron James. And I and I'm not speaking from a from a Lakers fan. I don't wanna say I'm speaking from an analyst saying that LeBron James has put himself in a situation where he's probably going to have to work harder than he ever has in his career to get a team to the playoffs. He's never had to do this. Right. Twenty five games left. I have to win. At least what you said seventeen eighteen I'm saying they may have to win twenty games. We don't know. Yeah. It's gonna be fascinating to see how it all kind of unfolds. Speaking of unfolding Corey Bellinger has has kind of unfolded in front of our eyes here and shown us what he's kinda made of in spring training. He's talking the big game, which I like talking about how he doesn't want to not be in the lineup everyday that he can be go. They asked about what position he wants to play. And he said straight up I can play any position. You put me whatever. Bizarre. You're gonna put me at on a gold glove at every single position. Now, look he may be right about right to be honest. He's that good right defensively. Specifically now offensively if he can cut down on some of those strikeouts. Then all of a sudden, he's MVP material. I believe so I do think he's going to have to show. Dave Roberts, particularly who is going to play by the numbers, y'all can get mad about the fact that he's going to do that. But that is how Dave is going to do it. It doesn't mean occasionally that he won't do something via the gut but ninety nine percent of the damn time. He is going to go out there and tell you whatever the numbers dictate that's going to be the solution to the. Potential problem. Yeah. No, I get that. So that's on Corey, Cody. Yes, that's on Cody to disprove that that he's not the best option in the situations where he was pulled last season. Yeah. He's got a he's got to clean it up. And when I say clean it up. Meaning that in in situations where you're coaching going to have to trust you, and whatever that you do and right now that trust was not there and it most critical moments, and I like the talk now, but it's a long season. Right. And he can handle his business on his own because they're still the talks of possible. You know, where does Bryce Harper go where so they're still talks of his possible moving around if they do get a guy, you know, what I mean?.

Yeah, he's a reliable blow up ever yet? No, they're in a weird spot like what's today? Joe August, sixteenth. I would've thought by now, even with the giant hole, they put themselves in the beginning of the season and they did play well through most June to kind of dig themselves out of that hold again on equal footing, but now we're a month passed the all star break and not only not separated. They've fallen back. Arizona is not a bad team. Colorado is not this idea that all of a sudden they're both going to implode crater in the dodgers can just kind of, you know, hold their head above water and win the division because they're the one that doesn't blow up. Now, let's start setting up for because, for example, again with kenley Jansen it's not as got a pitch through problems issue for him. It's not like. Kenley Jansen had a couple bad outings, but you know, he'll work his way through it. You don't always going to be back like the one thing you can't overcome is dude is not available to play for you. And you know, it's one thing for Matt Kemp to work through this brutal slump that he's been going through in August. But you know a lot of ways that's up to Matt Kemp. You know, Matt camp can figure out a way theoretically to get himself through this kenley. Jansen can't make his heart work better. Yeah, kenley Jansen is in no control of this whatsoever. You know, he follows the doctor's orders takes whatever prescriptions and hopes that it works out. Okay. Is it a slump for Matt Kemp? I mean, where's this? Just the first three months were the whole, wow, this and the way above the line performance in this is the regression to the mean this is the more this is the guy we've seen the last year's thinner, but this is more of the performance that we've seen tapping with max Muncie. It's happening with Chris Taylor. It's happening with Corey Bellinger, Cody Bellinger. All of these guys are going. Back to what you would expect. It's baseball. This is what happens that bad players have runs where they're really good. Good players have runs where they're really bad and you are typically what you are over the course of a season because it's six months long. It's one hundred sixty games. It's what we're seeing with a lot of these guys. And last year a lot of these guys didn't come back, which means it was just going to take a longer period of time. And that's what we're seeing right now. I mean, what's concerning with Matt Kemp is last season. He got off to a fantastic start before the all star break and then fell off a cliff. This season, you know, envy p caliber performance. Pre all star break has fallen off an even bigger cliff this since this all star break Christmas that the rest of the NBA and the NBA media's underestimating the Lakers. No, we'll get into that next after noon. ESPN LA. So Cal Kouzmin is in Michigan Flint, his hometown was talking a little bit, and one of the words used to describe the Lakers it was people are. Underestimating them for the upcoming season. I know what he was going for. I think I get the essence of his comments that, hey, you know, don't sleep on just because we're young, don't sleep on me because I'm young Lonzo Ingram, heart and the essence of it. I think he's he's right about, but the actual word at self. It's like buddy unit. Understand the second. You lose two games in a row. People are want to know what's wrong. This is something that you've never had to deal with before. This is a totally new world. The second LeBron James signed up and it's going to put on that uniform..

"And it's it's it's the dodgers especially your team that really makes them look bad by comparison because they figured it out and and and they figured out a way to compete you know even when things don't go perfectly for them the dodgers and they are a team that has a massive payroll that is a key difference i i might look more at the nationals it's being a more comparable team and you're gonna make the same argument with the nationals they've got a ton of injuries this year they haven't had daniel murphy for most of the season just came back last week and they've gotten it done with guys like jeremy heroics in who signed a minor league deal mark reynolds is it's a big home runs i knew a minor league deal matt adams has a lot of pop for that team signed a one year four million dollar deal this off season that's not payroll these are just smart signings to add some depth that came in handy for a team that again has had a lot of injury issues just as the mets have this year a remastered payroll but look look at the players you could kill them this weekend i mean where's sandy's versions of max muncie you know we're we're we're we're the young kids like john peterson and corey bellinger there are on the mexican you don't see them i mean and and and those aren't high high priced players it's it's it's a it's but you're right i mean in the nationals over great example because the nationals excuse me had their share of difficulties is here and if you manage to find a way to stay above sea level and you know it's it's really discouraging to see what with the other teams you know of like capacity you've done in the meta that and we're talking with mike vaccaro right now standing columnist for the new york post you could check out his column on the new york post's website or yesterday's new york post and and give it a read there but as far as if sandy is the problem here as far as you see it right now has become too much of a problem to bear which is essentially which wrote what direction do you think the mets should go at that spot and can that be a cure all for this franchise where it stands at the moment look i mean if your roof sandy from the equation you're still going to have the guys who own team and you know i think it's fair to say that that's as big a problem is as anything else and here's here's the biggest problem to me in terms of women gonna make a decision about sandy is that if you're you're not gonna would you be willing to to to fire him soon then you're basically saying that sandy is going to evaluate whether you want to trade to guam and syndergaard you know among others but certainly those the two jewish assets and do you want to do really entrust sandy alderson giving us track record the last eight years to maximize those deals or even you know determine if those deals could be made i think that that's the real conundrum that the the you won't find yourselves in trying to figure out you know how much they do they trust sandy i mean history tells you they probably trust them enough to keep them around and that's troubling in my view 'cause i just don't think that he's earned the right to be able to take to take this team into another complete rebuild i i just think that the you know we've seen enough evidence of what he's done so far with this team to the that i wouldn't trust it now mean do you become better because you're going to hire you know the number two guy the cubs or the astros or or your figure something like that out of course not but it'd be bbb because you have to have you know the the complete conflict and ownership is going to do it the right way unfortunately i don't have that police in the owners that i don't think anybody else has also however you know you can blame the owners all you want they gave enough leeway enough time enough autonomy to.

"And operated papa john's proud partner of the new york mets and by interstate batteries every battery for every need well we've seen this movie before haven't we just different version i guess updated version yeah we've seen this plenty of times unfortunately way too many i guess led zeppelin sang the song remains the same gone back to your classic rock days eddie well it's so hard to figure because you see wheeler and he looks great for five innings i mean he just throwing it ninety seven ninety eight miles an hour seemed to have pretty good command and then he starts to lose it a walk another walk a squid hit and he had an owen to count on corey bellinger and then boom meet all when he could have thrown it away you know no bad bitch not not a good sequence walk to peterson i thought he got squeezed there on trade you and i asked him whether that affected the next batter he said no last night's i'll take him at his word but you know back toback walks there you your question a little bit and gets out than the single of bloop single and you know listen you can't let that happen oh to bellinger's dangerous hasn't had a great year not certainly not like the one he had last year but i guess he's getting there and that helped the last night pick up four.
