Al was people didn't leave early to be traffic people. Stay to the end. All the runs didn't come on home. Runs or strikeouts. We got some cool matchups otani against tat junior. Everybody wanted to see that it was special. And you know for a couple of nights. Baseball took center stage again and felt right. Life felt good baseball. felt good. i hope you're felted through the tv. 'cause i definitely felt it at the ballpark. I love going to the all star game. We really missed it from a year ago but man. That was some seen number two. I know there was a big controversy before the all star festivities about shohei otani and speaking english interpreter. People going crazy about that all debate. But there's no denying about the international flavor in baseball. Let's just take the all star game is star. The game was won by japanese player. The game was saved by an australian and the mvp of the game was dominican. I mean is it not america. Only thing that was missing. Was the apple pie. Maybe a chevrolet but yes. Baseball is very international. We see a play out. You know what you know supersedes people's culture their language. This size shape is talent when you have talent. It doesn't matter we saw. You saw glad guerrero junior. His dad's a hall of fame. What he do he had a big home run another. Rbi this kid star the youngest guy to win the mvp ever which is incredible. The toronto blue jays lucky kinda got pushed to the side because so much is being available. Tiny and tease junior. But guerrero junior star and we saw last night. Shohei ohtani another one dude. He's just as advertised. This is what angels back up the brinks truck. The paid his guy to get him from japan and the all star game. He started the game and he was in the line up as the d. h. Pitch over one hundred miles an hour you can get in the heads man. You know just to have them out there do what he's doing. Nobody had ever gone to the all star game as a pitcher and a hitter. So that tells you all you need to know about him. And hendrix who purchased for the white sox got the save. He's the australian player. So we saw baseball has all these young stars and and many of them are from. The united states is plenty from the united states but there are a lot of big stars won. The game has a real international flavor. more soda. Any other sport would see more than national playing basketball. Not football obviously but Baseball a watch the game and you saw stars you said to yourself. Wow number three. It was good to hear from commissioner rob manfred about the changes in the game first of all. I'm going to give him credit for going. After google gate and goodness things straight now base more was at a crossroads. Couldn't wait till next year to get let guys get their act together now. The rules have been on the books. You can't put a foreign substance on the ball hitting had suffered and already we've seen improvements would batting averages and guys not striking out as much things have changed already. I love the way he attacked that. And then to hear the commissioner say a few things are likely to change going to drop the seventy doubleheaders that extra one rule on second base. And you know an extra innings. That's going to go away. Thank god and here's the one that really liked touch me to make me feel like okay. We're getting back to baseball. Roots is no more of the defensive shifts now. They didn't spell out how they're going to do it. But i'm assuming you've got to have two guys on each side of the bag you can move your guys around but you can't put four guys on side of the dominant. I think that's raw. We might as well might as well allow these guys to pick their own pictures. So some of them pick family members. Some of them picked staff members on their current teams. Some of them pick college coaches or whoever friends whatever. And in trade Mancini's case, he picked his old coach from Notre Dame to come in and pitch to him, which I guess hadn't happened in eight years. He hadn't seen a pitch from this guy in eight years or something like that. But when he calls his coach, his coach happened to be in an airport traveling on a recruiting trip. And his coach was terrified thinking. Oh, no, He's calling me because something's wrong. He's calling me maybe because his cancer is back or something, and he's going to have to stop playing baseball again. He called him to ask him if he could be as pitcher in the home run Derby. Are you crying? Not not crying, not making eye contact on purpose so that you can cry over there in peace. Survivor of staged three colon cancer. Wow. Yeah. Incredible. That was just that was just march of last year, Um, March it was revealed that the procedure on the seventh of March was to remove a malignant tumor from his colon in April. He had revealed that he had colon cancer began chemotherapy for six months to treat his cancer missed the entire season last year, which is fine. A lot of people did not for reasons like that, but they but they would sit out. And I mean just to come back from that. And be As high profile as you already be picked for the home run Derby and then to you know, come in second place. Who would you have pitched to you if you were invited to the home run Derby Who would I have pitch to me? Yeah. I don't know. They are like the new jersey devils of the nineteen eighties or the la clippers of the nineties. Or there like the cleveland browns of this century. They are not trying to lose. They're losing despite themselves. It's not the sort of cynical cost cutting that leads to teams losing now. They're the old kind of bad teams where they sort of bad building the baseball team and and it's starting to catch up to them in a way. I find this to be almost comforting. That it's still possible to have so many things. Just go wrong that you end up being the worst team in baseball so pure pure. That's good we're for is very pure.
