"So the candid night out for President Biden Did you see the town hall in Baltimore May have actually helped to move the ball on Capitol Hill as he talked on CNN about the negotiations underway in the need to cut a deal Are you close to a done deal No problems Hold on Okay president talking with Anderson Cooper there who took another swing at that same question Are you close to a deal I think so You know look I've been I was a senator for 370 years And I was never I was relatively good at putting together deals Is this the toughest deal you've worked on No no I think banning assault weapons is the toughest deal I worked on And succeeded We'll see if he still feels that way by the time this is all done One way or the other And we bring in Bloomberg government's Emily Wilkins who spent a good chunk of her day on Capitol Hill chasing all of this down Sounded like The Tonight Show in there last night Emily That was not canned laughter Is this the boy who cried wolf or are they actually getting close to a deal of the question So right now where we're at in the process is that Democrats need to take that $3.5 trillion bill and trim it down to about $2 trillion maybe a little less What we heard this week was Democrats actually coming out and saying things like this is how we're gonna get there We're not gonna do tuition free community college The extended childhood child care tax credits they might only last for a year weekend you know that will save some money And so in that sense we are seeing progress But let's just be really clear here There is still so so much that Democrats have left to figure out with this bill The overall cost What's going to happen with the climate portion If they're not going to pursue a clean energy flower plants like they were initially talking about what's going to happen with the funding If they senator Kristen sinema doesn't go for raising the corporate tax rate Democrats are going to have to find another way to raise $540 billion for this bill And all those things they have to be not only decided on from a policy standpoint and put together but then actually agreed upon by Democrats So reality check no deal announced tonight not like as people were walking around saying that today we're gonna deal tonight by God anything could happen What's the realistic view after actually speaking with lawmakers today This is weeks away maybe the goods could there be a vote next week or is that pipe dream At this point if you listen to the leaders in Congress and President Biden they do talk about having a vote next week And my crystal ball is currently in the shop And so it's hard to say exactly if that will I won't happen right now it's not looking great because of how much they have left to get done But also let's consider what happened the last time that they had an arbitrary deadline Everyone worked all night There was no vote They did work all night but you did see them start to get closer You saw some agreements emerge You saw everyone a little bit more be able to get on the same page for the process for the top line number And you did see progress being made The pressure of that deadline however arbitrary it was did move things forward And so I think what we're keeping an eye out for next week is how much progress is actually made And I think part of the question is as well if enough progress is made on that reconciliation package that social spending and tax package If Democrats can get a really solid framework that President Biden can put a stamp of approval on could they go ahead and move that bipartisan infrastructure Bill that so many lawmakers want to see get signed into law So the money can start going out to roads highways bridges broadband all things that lawmakers really of every party want to see happen Some interesting comments from the president about senator Manchin and senator sinema for that matter when he was in the middle of answering a question about his proposed expansion to Medicare Mister Manson is opposed to that As is I think senator cinema is a closed all of them opposed to all three because they don't want he says he doesn't want to further burden Medicare so that because it will run out of its ability to maintain itself and X number of years There's ways to fix that but not interest in that part either But look Joe Joe's not a bad guy He's a friend And he's always the end of the day come around and voted Joe's not a bad guy He's a friend And when he was talking about Kirsten cinema Emily he said she's as smart as the devil Are these backhanded compliments or does he actually have a good relationship with them You've seen President Biden I mean he served with Manchin when they were in the Senate together Obviously Kirsten sinema has a newer member to Congress But Biden does pride himself on these relationships on his ability to work with senators to sit down and to talk with them God knows they keep going to The White House for meetings They do And to be honest when I talk to lawmakers Democrats on Capitol Hill they'll be like look We don't really agree with what Joe Manchin is doing We're not super happy with the policies that he is and isn't backing up They say but he's out there He's negotiating He's being transparent and he's been a part of the process Now there is a little more frustration with the senator from Arizona Kirsten sinema the lawmakers feel like she's been a little less transparent But according to President Biden she is working with The White House And I think this is just an acknowledgment You're in a 50 50 Senate Any one of those senators could wind up locking this bill overall And so now is not the time to make enemies I mean you have seen Biden come out kind of in the past and allude to them in a not so friendly way But I think his tone sort of speaks to the fact that they are engaging They are talking and we are learning more about senator Simba's positions on certain things He did acknowledge as I mentioned at the outset of the program corporate tax hike not likely They're now looking for alternatives We only have about 30 seconds left Emily but that's gonna be a big part of the conversation in the next couple of days Absolutely huge We're hearing things such as potentially an excise tax on companies that buy back their stocks There's been some discussion about attacks on millionaires or billionaires Lots of options out there but going to be a long road to figure out what needs to be done Emily Wilkins will be back a little bit later on this hour and coming up We turn to what The Pentagon is calling and existential threat It is not North Korea or Iran or China for that matter It's the climate We'll talk about it with the deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen hicks coming up next here on sound on Stay where the.

Defense Bureaucrat Robert Gates Gives Lackluster 60-Minutes Interview on Afghanistan
"So Robert Gates is on 60 minutes And he's asked about this Afghanistan's situation Cut 6 go It was really tough For a few days there I actually wasn't feeling very well And I realized it was because of what was happening in Kabul and I was just so low About the way it had ended if you will And I guess the other feeling that I had was that it probably did not need to have turned out that way Well prison Biden said any withdrawal is messy Certainly the military considers the withdrawal the most dangerous part of an operation But they really had a lot of time to plan Beginning with the deal that president Trump cut with the Taliban So that was in February of 2020 Robert Gates who oversaw the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2006 to 2011 told us president Trump failed to plan properly for the evacuation of Afghans who'd helped the U.S. fight the Taliban Don't you love this part where they narrate Don't you love it We don't get to hear Robert Gates say that We don't hear We hear Anderson Cooper Whose career Top interview was of stormy Daniels Remember that mister balus Three boobs there at least two boobs as far as I can tell And so he says Robert Gates he told us why are you here Robert Gates told us about Trump Why don't you have him say what he said

Of course we shouldn't tear down the Jefferson memorial, but would you be surprised? If that was coming? Wouldn't surprise me one bit. They're doing exactly what we warned you they would do. They want to they hate this country so much. They want to shred the constitution. They want to tear down all the statues of Washington and Jefferson and all the they want to remake America into a socialist utopia. That's what we're up against. Am I wrong? Prove me wrong. "And congressman Mike Johnson was bold enough to stand up to him and ask him about it, and he doesn't have an answer. He doesn't have an answer. I mean, critical race theory, teaching that America is racist. These lunatics are so out of control, they're taking down statues of our founding fathers. Remember when they promised when they were tearing down statues of Robert E. Lee. It was just about the confederate generals, and some of us said, wait a minute. What about George Washington? What about Thomas Jefferson? Oh, you right wingers. You crazy right wingers, fear mongers trying to scare people into thinking they're taking down they'll take down statues of the founding fathers. We're not after that. Oh, really? So New York City. Is removing the statue of Thomas Jefferson from city hall. Because he owns slaves. Exactly what we said was going to happen. And the crazy left loves this. So last night, at this idiotic town hall that Biden held on CNN where there was a screened audience. Everything was scripted. He knew every question in advance, every question was planted. They were deliberately. It was completely staged. This thing was performance art. Here was Anderson Cooper to Biden about our founding fathers being erased from America because of these kooks and screwballs and lunatics on the left. Listen to this. New York City is removing a statue of Thomas Jefferson from its legislative chamber because of Jefferson's history as a slave slaveholder. Do you support that decision? Well, I think that's up to the locality to decide what they want to do on that. Look, there's a lot of there's a lot of people have no social redeeming value. Historically. And there's others who have made serious mistakes and in terms of what exists now in terms of what we should be talking about, but have done an awful lot. And so the very thing, for example, I just spoke at the Martin Luther King dedication. And I pointed out that we're right across from the Lincoln Memorial. Well, you know, and you talked about and then the Jefferson. And what are we doing? I talked about how I said were unique in all the world. As a nation, we're the only nation founded an idea. We hold these truths to be self evident. All men and women are created equal in doubt, but no nations ever founded on an idea. Have we ever lived up to it? No. Let me pretty big idea that somebody wrote that down and got the rest of the country to agree to it. So it depends. Wow. That's utterly nonsensical. You know that, right? We can all agree. If that was a term paper, he'd get an F nobody knows what the heck he said. It depends him. He almost got there, as he was rambling about the Jefferson memorial, he almost said what are you gonna do? Tear down the Jefferson memorial. He almost said it, but then he couldn't shake 'cause you don't have the guts to say it. Guys got no guts at all. If he had any guts, he'd stand up to the lunatics of his party and he'd say, we should not be taking down statues and memorials to our founding fathers. They are our founding fathers. They wrote the constitution. They wrote the Bill of Rights. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Don't you love by the way when he quotes when he misquotes that we hold these truths to be self evident? And he adds women to that, like he's quoting, but he injected all men and women are created equal ups in a Biden whisper. It doesn't say that. Now, we acknowledge that all men and women are created equal, but that's not exactly what it said. Did it? It said all men are created. And then he gets into he starts to say in doubt by our and then he trails off because you know, you know he forgot the rest of it. It's hysterical. But can we spend a few minutes on this and talk about the purging of our founding fathers from society and we're letting them do it.

Judge: Florida can't enforce ban on school mask mandates

What All Americans Should Understand About Black Lives Matter
"Couple of questions black lives matter. What should all americans understand about black lives matter. And where does it fit into america. Organically is it some big plots of the democrat party. Is it just another race hustle. Ethno business also from a new generation of of al sharpton 's or is it truly something organic that is headless like an amoeba way. Does it fit in. What should all americans irrespective of their mellon levels. Think of this thing. I consider The movement behind b. l. m. not a real estate investment vehicle to ensure that the founders can get up home about the house multi worth multiple millions but instead the analog to the militant wing of the d. n. c. for the latter part of the nineteenth century and for the early parts of the twentieth century. The klu klux klan operated to make sure that all americans remembered the messaging the importance of separation the importance of weaken get you. Wherever you are. We can stop that job. We can prevent that opportunity. Black lives matter is working with corporations. It is working with the media. It is working with the academy. It works with government. The sad thing about the bill in movement is it was is able to do out in the open with the klan had to do secretly that danger is something that i hope that we start seeing a pushback. I want to start seeing. And i hope that we start. Seeing companies have to apologize for being willing to associate with racial separatist like the black lives matter
Why Is Black America Leery of the COVID Vaccine?
"You have a sense of. Why black america is leery of vaccination us mandates we. We've had we've had the senile man in the white house talk about the tuskegee 'em and Which had nothing to do with it. I think he thinks that's the same as the tuskegee institute is it to do with fear of over the white man or is it more complicated than that when joe biden and comma harris ragged to their donors that they were going to diss of vow. All of the amazing achievements that donald trump did with vaccines and they did so knowing that the group of americans most sympathetic to them. Excuse me were black americans. It is no surprise to me that people hurt those messages. Listen to those messages and believed those messages so went went so when kamala harris actually says that if a vaccine is developed under donald trump's aegis she's not going to take it vats. What Slavery Could Not Do, Government Agencies Have Been Able to Do With Impunity
"Since the nineteen sixties government agencies have aggressively interfaced with black america and they have promised black america that we can fix every single problem over a trillion dollars later. We now see things. In black america that never existed before government came and knocked on the door. Such as one of those is the prison rate for black men. You can look at the records of the nineteen twenties. Nineteen thirties forties and fifties. black american. Men were the least likely to be in federal prison than any other. Racial category employment black men were the most likely to be employed in america through throughout the roaring twenties even in the middle of the great depression and afterwards up through the nineteen fifties illegitimacy mo- black children in the twenties thirties and forties. Were more likely to be born in two parent households than the population at large. We are told big lie today. We're told if you wanna look at some of the problems and challenges that face black america you have to assume that it's all a legacy of the evil of slavery of course slavery was evil but founders understood that the principle of liberty that is based in the declaration of independence understood and underscored that important point. Here's the thing what slavery could not do what jim crow could not do. Government agencies have been able to do with

"What i really love about you in particular do is bring so much joy to showing off your plants and i think this is something. The particularly a certain slice of the instagram population could learn a lot from. Because i hear from so many people that all like i'm really comfortable showing pictures of by plots but i don't really want to take a picture of myself and i just love the freedom with which you are able to express yourself with your plants. So that's the starting point for us perhaps talk about plants and poses. How did that lack kickoff. And what does that mean to you. How i love this question so plants and poses as it started back at say once. I created my account. I did a very similar thing as most people. Did you show your plants. You may be show your hand in your plant. But that's it and it didn't take much time for me to realize that there was something more that i wanted to do with it on a trained dancer and <hes> trained yoga and structure and dance teacher and just general lover of movement and always have been and so it just felt natural for me at some point to get in front of the camera and play with what it be like for me to create the shapes while also highlighting certain plants and so really plants imposes was started office. Just a way for me to be creative in a way that felt really good for me. And what i noticed. Is that while it was getting a lot of great feedback. I had this sense that people wanted to buy what they were saying. Wanted to do the same thing but didn't know how or felt like maybe it was going be sending on my toes as i was kind of creating this thing and so i then started the hashtag and even made this little slide on <hes>. One of my posts to talk about what it is so that people could maybe feel a bit more comfortable getting in front of the camera being creative and just showing the beauty of our own physical bodies with these beautiful clans that we love. Yeah that's a really great message to get across. Because i think so. Many people are just uncomfortable with themselves physically. And don't really like to look at themselves. And i think the same is true with our voices. I know that when i started on the legends. I said in my last episode. I really didn't like the sound of my own voice. Which i'm sure lots of listeners will find surprising because a lot of emails from people saying oh i love your voice but at the time i really had a problem with my voice and it took me many years of hearing myself in interviews to really come to terms with it and actually love it myself. So it's it's a really powerful thing isn't it and that freedom is something that we should be taking full advantage over. And that's what you do. So well tell me a bit about your plunk collection a you you and i roy <hes>. Addict toys are there particular kinda plant. That floats your boat. He has time has gone on. I definitely have become more of an arrowhead addict. And what is it's it's something about seeing how much they change over time. How much the leaves change and get bigger as they mature. But don't get me wrong. I have a ton of. I love snake plants. There's something about a plant that it's just loyal and resilient so yeah yeah airways say is where my passion and drivers and there are also so many other plants that i do adore. Well that's good to hear. Is this been something of a recent passion or have you been in tiny. I would say that there's always been a connection right. There's always been this connection to plants from a young age. Remember the feeling of being outside of getting interested in plant growing in the ground and entreaty and whatnot. And i would say didn't really dig into that more until i was an adult and it was april of twenty nineteen. So it's been about a year and a half at this point that i really started to collect plants if you will on.

"So Cooper had disappeared into the night sky with two hundred thousand dollars in the investigation into his identity would begin with FBI agents recovered 66 unidentified fingerprints on board the Boeing. They also recovered a black clip-on tie. And a tie clip belonging to Cooper two of the four parachutes had also been recovered with one having to suspension lines cut from its canopy. So what do you think? That's about I think they sabotaged one of them. That's what I think. Hm. Hm didn't think about that. That's a good idea. I really that's a good thought. I did not think about that at all. What do you think Alex wage? I think that I mean honestly what I think is that it was some sort of inside scheme that was orchestrated. By the FBI good theory know I literally made that up. That's not what I okay. I don't know. I'm just listening to this story bro. So an interview was conducted with the eyewitnesses from Portland Seattle Reno, and anyone that personally interacted with Cooper and several police sketches were developed from those interviews. And those are the ones that Alex apparently thinks look like me off right? I mean, it's just totally does. Okay, the investigators began questioning possible suspects in the case nearly 800 were considered and all but 24 24 or eliminated as suspects in Oregon man named DB Cooper who had a minor police record was one of the very first Persons of Interest in the case, but was quickly ruled out. However, a confused report mixed up the suspects name with the reported perpetrators alias. Thus DB Cooper be can print it in all the media. So that's actually how it gets mixed up. So some lonely, you know news guy was like, oh, yeah, they said his name was D be but that's actually the suspect that they rolled out and it just kind of stuck which I thought was kind of weird. So on top of not really having much to go on as far as this guy's identity because he's kind of em and and a couple of the things that I read and was these little kind of unremarkable. There's nothing that really sticks out. He doesn't have any scars. He doesn't have any wild hair. He doesn't have any tattoos or anything that that that's known on top of that the search for any physical evidence on the ground becomes very difficult to because it's very hard to pin down an exact differential or where he landed because even small differences in the estimated the estimates of the air craft speed or the conditions or anything changes the projected Landing zone for Cooper by like miles..

I mean she fifteen degrees in one way or fifteen degrees in the other way, but this is fifteen degrees off both of those ways, right? Oh, yes valid. Okay. Now I get it the co-pilot informed Cooper that the plane was limited to A Thousand Miles under the demanding flight configuration and would require a second refueling before entering Mexico Cooper in The Crew decided on Reno, Nevada, and that would be the best spot for the refueling. So around 7:40 p.m. Now. The Boeing 727 took back off with only five people still on board. So it's Cooper and then I think there is like the pilot the co-pilot and then in a couple more of the flight attendants F 106 is were scrambled to follow the plane one above one below out of view of Cooper in this little tip that I didn't know. Did you guys know this? No, I did not those two planes follow it throughout the throughout the remainder of this incident. There's a 05 total planes that follow The Boeing and nobody sees what's about to happen, right? Which I also thought was kind of weird. But if you look a little bit more into it, the weather was really bad. It's night time. I mean, I don't know it's weird when you hear it, right, like wait, they didn't see him jump. There's like, you know at one point there's three planes following this thing and nobody sees him jump and there's military trained people would not see him jump, right and it was like not on the radar or anything. So when you hear it originally it's like whoa, that's that's wild but when you think about it, especially it's a night time. It's raining really bad. The weather's bad. There's there's a pretty probably a pretty good chance that they didn't see him if he jumped because he's wearing a black suit. He's a ghost. He's a ghost may be dead. We'll get to that later cuz are actually put a pin in that for later. So after takeoff Cooper told the crew to remain in the cockpit with the door closed at 8 p.m. A warning light inside dog. Cockpit one-off indicating the AFT error stairs apparatus, which is in the back had been activated the crew offered assistance, which is adamantly declined by Cooper off the crew then witnessed the pressure of the cabin. Witnessed the pressure within the cabin going up indicating that the the after was in fact open 13 minutes after the warning light inside the cockpit the aircraft's tail section sustain a sudden upward movement large enough to require trimming to bring the plane back to level at 10:15 p.m. With the AFT are stare still open the plane landed at the Reno Airport FBI agent state troopers sheriff's deputies and Reno Police performed an armed search of the aircraft only to find that the planes remaining crew and no sign of Cooper in total five different planes and trains flight and not a single one had witnessed the man jump as we said earlier..

That's a it's a different thing so they are different right and that's what they're doing. Or the serial number, right? Exactly. Yep. So originally they tried to tell Cooper that he was going to get military parachutes. Okay, and he requested could not get military parachutes that he gets civilian models with manually operated ripcords and they were acquired from the local flight school so that to me thinks that he's trained with civilian stuff before you know what I mean? That makes it sound like cuz there's like some there's some suspects that are like military guys to me. That sounds like he's not a Miller. I actually have a I have a different theory on this wage and Alex. I don't know if we're going to go where I'm where I was going to go. But maybe I'm going to go where you're going to go. So go ahead I bet we are so the thing that I was thinking and I don't know if this is maybe two out there or two weird, but what I was thinking is he was waiting for them to say what they were going to give him and then he said something different on purpose because he would figure that whatever they were going to give him they'd be able to in the time frame that they had a dog. With it in some way shape or form so they said well, we'll give you military parachutes cuz we know we can open those up and see all those back up really really quickly and we can tamper with them and make sure that you don't you know, you end up not going you're supposed to go or they don't open or whatever, but then you know, so maybe he knows both and said the opposite of whatever they were saying. I don't know. That's what I was thinking just to like. Yeah, that's actually that's a pretty good that was not my degree..

Yeah authorized the payment of Cooper's Ransom and he ordered his employees to fully cooperate with any of the bands that that Cooper asks for which is probably a smart idea since he's got a you know, and the plane was only at I think like half there was only thirty five people on it. So but still he's got thirty five people's lives in his hands. I'd probably make the same demands to my employees, right and he's got a weapon of mass destruction in the in the fact that he's got a plane that he is basically in control of so, I mean if that goes down it could cause a lot more damage. Can you imagine how awkward that fly that plane ride was for two hours? Yeah, right like yeah, it's like guys and it's fine. I'm going to let you off when we're done. It's just I mean, yeah. I'm in love I love with you or something now, so Schaffner recalled this note being neatly printed in all caps, but the exact wage Is not remember because Cooper reclaimed it later on so he took it back Schaffner. So what probably to her appears to be a bomb and for all I know it's a pain to and you know, I don't think there's really anybody knows if there's if it was actually a bomb. I couldn't really find anything that said like yeah definitely sounds like a bomb but So did you know this part did you know he like he handed the note to her and all that stuff? Yes only because I this is all fresh in my mind in my mind cuz I watched a documentary. So I'm basically like you could ask me anything. Okay, I totally know. Okay. What what time is 2:50 in Pacific time? Is there anything bro? I'm sorry. I I texted you the so it should be easy. Oh, yeah. A quick let me wait. Can you ask me one more time? "The day prior to Thanksgiving in 1971 a man calling himself Dan Cooper would begin the process of pulling off a crime. That sounds like it's straight out of the Fast and the Furious movie right or like Mission Impossible. I don't know what other I wouldn't say mission impossible impossible, especially, I mean, there's a scene literally in Mission Impossible Fallout where he jumps out of a yeah. Yeah almost any exact way and do you know that he actually did that? Yes. I did only because you told me oh did I? Okay? Well, then I'll just shut up ya what is your show? So To stop any confusion before we get started here. I did say dance. Correct. You said Dan Cooper a man calling himself Dan Cooper walked up and bought that ticket and people are probably asking themselves. I thought this was about DB Cooper DB Cooper is Dan Cooper. Okay. Yeah. If you don't know that then actually I didn't know that until I wrote this episode, but he actually calls himself Dan Cooper and that's the Alias. He used the media screwed it up on and we'll get to that a little later on how they screwed it up and started calling him B DB Cooper. Do you know why he called himself Dan Cooper and if you do know why and it's in episode. Just tell me to stop no. Really? Yeah, I mean, I don't know how anybody can know what comic book character. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I mean well then why did you say you didn't but because you don't know that that's why I mean nobody knows who this guy is, who knows why maybe that's false to him. Dance is Bernie Haysbert. The cover of the comic book is a guy jumping out of an airplane with a parachute on oh interesting. Yeah, so, okay. Well, let's squash. Is that theory? Then? I guess huh? So, okay. Sorry so much for being the research guy. Sorry. Was it looking at comic books while I was researching? So Cooper border at a Boeing 727 and continued with his black briefcase to his seat 18 c k or 18 e or 15 D depending on who's actually took the story nobody..

"They would call me and say Bill, we don't agree with that particular statement once you take it out, and I would either say, okay, take it out on. I wanna see the president. Because this is something I feel strongly about. So though, that's the way it normally works. That's why you have a national security advisor. That's why you have a national security team to make sure the sector stayed the secretary of defense the intelligence community. They're all kind of coordinating the intelligence to make sure if there are differences between the DIA and the CIA or the India the. Rector of national intelligence were states intelligence that at least the national security advisor would know about it. So the president isn't blindsided. So he doesn't take the news media and then blast his intelligence community saying you've got it all wrong, go back and get a higher education. But be not going to say, what is frightening about this administration. Is that I mean, that's what happens when you were describing is what happens in a normal administration. When there's a normal setup in this administration where you have the president meeting privately with Ladimir Putin and Kim Jong UN and to this day. No one knows really what was discussed between him and vitamin Putin in Helsinki in in any number of places his own national security advisor may not even fully know what was discussed because only the president knows Vladimir Putin knows. And how the president told his own people about it. We have no idea and no idea if it was accurate his perception of it. So it's it's particularly scary. When the the president himself, I'm even even if the national security team had checked in with Dan Coats. It's not clear. Clear what the national security team knows what the president is really thinking. Well, the great irony is the President Putin knows more about the situation than we do. And that is not only unorthodox I think it's a very dangerous to the security of this country that one person the president United States believes that he and only he can make these decisions without regard without even accounting to his national security team. Not to mention the American people secretary Cohen. I appreciate your time. Thank you so much. Sure. With me, former FBI senior intelligence advisor, inform CI counterterrorism official Philip Mudd and CNN legal analysts carry Cordeiro fill you actually help prepare. These types of reports when you wear the CIA is it all possible. The president was actually surprised by what his intelligence sheets told congress. I mean, isn't this exactly what they would have been reporting to him previously. Boy, this is head scratcher, by the way preparedness was one of the more unpleasant tasks I had at the at the FBI at the not very fun. But there's a couple of questions you might ask. And I'd put the vast Anderson Cooper. Three sixty staff on this tomorrow to questions two questions for the national security adviser, number one. Did you get an advanced copy of this? And as the former secretary was just saying a moment ago secretary Cohen that would be traditional practice. Did you get a copy of what they were going to say did you with either advise the president? If not why not the second thing the president's been around for two years presumably he receives regular intelligence briefings, including on significant issues ISIS Russia, North Korea, Iran, Mr President if you've gotten briefings at least once a week presumably several times a week for two years. How did you not know what your deny thought about the intentions of the North Koreans Iranians? How did you not know? I don't get it Anderson. It's not that complicated. But it's clear. The president is just make stuff up about in the wake of the Kim Jong UN meeting. Everybody can sleep safely tonight. Because now they're going to denuclearize. I mean, that's just made up. I I it's clearly not a message that he's getting from carry. There's not what he's being told. I soon by Dan, Coats, and others. So he just seems upset that. They're not toeing the line of the stuff. He makes up. Well, I think what it is is he has political objectives. And what he's doing is. He was upset what I take from. What's happened is that he didn't like the coverage of the aftermath of the worldwide threats briefing, which by the way happens every year. And so he didn't like the coverage the.

"If the president United States does not failure work product does not believe it, and instead chooses to believe somebody like of mayor Putu now, I mean, I think they are still doing useful things because remember the US government does a lot of things that don't involve. Donald trump. I mean, they're hunting terrorists. They're keeping America safe. They're doing a lot of good for the country. But I think it is very demoralizing for the intelligence community to have the chief consumer their product be somebody who prefers to get his news from FOX and friends, and I mean, either other Dan Coats is right, and ISIS is still a threat, and I still has territory in Syria, and you know, it or or it it's not and there's not a lot of middle ground there between what the president is saying, Dan Coats, and it's not it's not like it's not on the one hand on the other hand, it's not equally balanced positions. Dan, Coats has facts and reality on his side. Donald Trump lives in this alternative reality fake news bubble, but I think what's what's valuable about what Dan Coats is doing areas that he is basically a firm, and what we do at CNN or the Washington Post or the New York Times. And he's basically saying that the mainstream media organizations the ones that President Trump calls out. It's fake news. And the enemy of the people. We're actually getting it, right? Because the news we're reporting is accurate is. In line with the findings of the intelligence community. It's but this is dangerous, isn't it? I mean, this is a dangerous thing. We've never had a president who is basically unreachable and refuses to learn and prefers conspiracy theories to actual facts. I mean, this is the person with his finger on the nuclear button that is incredibly dangerous. Max boot always good to have you on thinking Mexico's to check in with Chris Hewitt. He's working on for Cuomo primetime the top the our Chris, oh just type in it up. This president conceals what matters and he confounds by creating things that don't matter the border crisis Brown menaces, I call it. It's all manufactured. But when it comes to this president and his meetings with Putin. We always are the last to know why why if they have nothing to hide Anderson. Why do the people around this president, and you'd have to say the president himself lying so often about Russia? We're going to look at this deeply tonight Rosso going to look at what really kicked off last night with the big town. All we have Andrew gillum on a new. CNN member of the family. What does he think about comma Harrison, whereas party needs to be on policy to win yet for folks that are no Kamla Harris had a town hall with their Jake tapper. It was like, yeah. They're like, the it was the most watched one I think we've ever had. Yes. Didn't even have Anderson Cooper in it. What are the chances that that happens? I say not very good. So obviously, very resonant and we're going to discuss why. All right, Chris. Thanks very much. We'll see you in about eleven minutes from now coming up speaking of the truth. The president has spun this yarn over and over again and nightmare scenario scenario women being trafficked in the US with duct tape over their mouths. You know, the problem is so far there's no evidence of this actually happening. According to expert, so what a government officials do when the president makes a claim without evidence new reporting, they try to find it. Anyway, that's next. Good day. Sweep old Jay skeets here. From the starters.

"Testimony Cooper opened the delivered moneybag making sure there was no funny stuff less than two and a half hours after handing Florence Schaffner's notes. Roughly the time it takes to watch. A movie Cooper now has a bag of two hundred thousand dollars. In cash, both muck low end Schaffner reported that he quote jumped up and down with joy. Childlike after realize that he got the money. I bet he did. You know, I got two hundred thousand. I got you. Money Mony, Mony Mony. They need to make a db Cooper movie. I'll see you maybe start like Bradley Cooper is Deby Cooper. I would be so great, you know, when he gets out money, and he's so excited looks just hits him and just cut to a quick montage of what's going on his head. You know, just you know, his running up and down the aisles just throwing money throw money around him. You know cuts cuts cuts to a cockpit orgy with the flight attendants. You know, then cut to everyone just cheer and frame and clapping as he stands with each arm. Run a flight attendant and first class. You know, everybody's you did it you really for. He's a jolly good for. He's a jolly good. Just snaps back to the reality of him. Just quickly jumping up and down like a like a happy kid. A one movie was made a huge box office flop. Actually, starring Robert Duvall who I love little rubber Duval, and treat Williams is db Cooper haven't seen it came out. Nice anyone? Yeah. Just just didn't do well made rate three point seven million on a on a twelve million dollar budget have projected on the money Cooper, then lifted the sack to test the weight make sure felt like, you know, over twenty pounds. He even had shaved their hold back. So he could feel so she could feel the weight muck low, then joked with Cooper about being a lot of money and jokingly asked if she could have some and then Cooper immediately just reach into the bag and gave her a bundle Muko told him. She was just kidding and handed the bundle back saying that she couldn't accept what she called gratuities what a strange detail like who is this guy. Like, he clearly doesn't need all of the money if he's willing to give a bundle of it just to you know, who's actually a hostage because she asked. Strange report he has with the hostages doesn't seem like a mean spirited person in. Why did he do this just to see if he could do it is he does he just hate somebody at Northwest Airlines? Very strange all of this is so strange in return for having his demands met Cooper, let all of his fellow passengers leave the airplane along with two of the flight attendants, Florence Schaffner and another woman named Alice. Hancock Hancock turned back when she realized she forgotten her purse sheepishly asked Cooper if she can retrieve it. Sure, he said, I'm not going to buy you Hancock noticed. He was already in the process of putting on one of the shoots Muko added. He refused. The parachute instructions that I handed him saying, I don't need those. He opened one looked inside. Then close it up before putting it on. And then he put it on easily as if he had done this before just as cool as a cucumber no-bid woops or no big whoop. As Reverend Dr Joel motherfucking paisley would say he's he's whoop guy. He's a what guy not a not a whoops guy like Lindsey myself. Db Cooper, just he'll call me making a couple hundred thousand dollars in an easy afternoon's work Cooper kept the remaining flight attendant teen amok low on board as well. As captain William Scott first officer, William Retallack, fight flight engineer, H, E Anderson. You have a grudge against north west muck. Low asked to one point..
