"But. Since mobilization matters, I do think that a last minute October surprise could change anyone's game. Okay Chris as a as a southern Democrat myself. I don't think that the letter personally made much difference in the state of North Carolina. I think that the the vote was baked for Hillary Clinton here but I want you Chris to make your prediction about twenty twenty in North Carolina Cal Cunningham tell us or. And Joe Biden versus Donald Trump with North Carolina. You know I'll put in some of the same caveats that Kate did anything can happen October surprise. I think all that is legitimate and sincere and and also think in some ways it is the definition of a swing state right is one that could go either way a battleground state, a purple state whatever you WANNA call in. So I I hate in some ways to say I think this is what's going to happen because the one thing. We know is going to be really close I mean I I think cutting. Hamza. White woman in viral New York City video allegedly made 2nd false claim

"Some new information tonight from prosecutors in New York. They say the white woman who called the police on a black man in Central Park, who asked her to leave her dog actually called 911, not once but twice. CBS's Alison Keys reports. They say she can possibly resolve this without jail time. In a video that went viral, Amy Cooper called 900 on Christian Cooper, telling them an African American man was threatening her life. Then she called 900 again, falsely claiming he tried to assault her. Prosecutors said in the videotaped arraignment that using the police in a way that is both racially offensive and designed to intimidate Is something that can't be ignored Manhattan's Day says. "The the Pima County area, and so I think it just depends on how fast. Numbers are coming in. Chris what about the North Carolina is there a place that you're county that you're looking at saying shitter such since such goes one way that the state goes that way yeah, and I'll I'll try to grab a little bit of the front one to on just on other states to watch I mean obviously I'll be watching you know who wins and loses but look at Georgia looks close. Early on an election night I think that's telling us something very important, right. So if Jamie Harrison and south, Carolina has a any kind of chance to be Lindsey. Graham. And it looks like that I think that is obviously telling us something to we know these states. Times tend to move in tandem, right? It's not like one st goes one direction and then a similar stay in a radically different direction. Do they speak you mean sim? You're talking about similar state At places like California and new. York where the margins between trump and biden are just going to be somewhat astronomical I mean Biden is GonNa probably lead in the state of Washington. And Hawaii, by ridiculous amounts and yet still we're looking at the same swing states we're looking at the same states where people I mean. To My, I think I talked to my liberal bubble friends in New York. And they say, how can it be swing? How can you be have sway undecided or swing voters who? Can't decide between the two, but it seems to be the same. States that always end up that way despite the huge margins elsewhere. So desperate. Yes it that's where I think if you look at a state like Georgia that you know by all means. Should be that. But the fact that trump is taking money out of the rust belt and putting an end to Georgia I think suggested it may be. So that's one thing I definitely will be watching and I agree completely that you know Californian New York aren't GonNa tell us much but I think the states they pair well together looking at all the swing states can matter as far as within north. Carolina I'll get real granular. Here I'm in the counties that I think are the most interesting to look at our new Hanover County, which is where Wilmington is so nice visit. Also a good place to watch politics. That's a place that has gone increasingly blue over the last few years, but it's kind of a bright shade of Purple Right. Now New Hanover went four again Roy Cooper and went for For Donald Trump. Jackson. County way out West Very Rural County same deal. It was a cooper trump county that went for Obama. In two thousand, eight I would also watch Granville County. Sorry Jackson Saudi went for Obama Noaa it did Jackson County. Weight and in College. That's exactly right. Yes, there is a Western Carolina University. There's also a lot of legacy Democrats, right? These old blue dog Democrats Democrat for the real political geeks follow this stuff Heath Shuler from this area from this Jackson. County. Way Up in the mountains, right these are some of them are Democrats who you know may like the guns a little bit more than than your. Average Democrat, but they're Democrats nonetheless So Jackson New Hanover. GRANVAL is another one in Nash. Those you're sort of the four counties Then I try to watch in north. Carolina that will be watching very closely on election night. They all have profiles electorally that are hard to figure out in their party registrations and those places tend to favor unaffiliated Buderus as well. Right and as down writing them down writing pima wound down. Your hitch came. It depends like how much the margins are coming in a big. That's that's the one thing to keep in mind if it turns out that you're looking, for example at Maricopa, which normally would support trump at the margin sieber leak close. That's when things. Become more. Interesting. In terms of states overall, I would just say that I always pay attention to Florida Pennsylvania and Ohio right.

"When we say the Arizona's purple. But doesn't mean it's filled with moderates rent Sir I think that the important thing to keep in mind with these swing states is that. Mobilization. Is Key because there's a lot of people on both sides of the spectrum that are very much committed. To their positions an but whether or not the parties get them out to vote whether or not the presidential campaigns get them out to vote and really makes a difference. It's so. True, of course, swing states are not full of moderates, but that does tend to make their candidates. More moderate. Don't you think I mean Chris Is, not a is not a far left. Democrat. Mark Kelly is not running to be far left Democrat I would argue that Tom that cal Cunningham has not attempted to be a far left Democrat either. So. Are there more people who are undecided in these swing states potentially I mean they're obviously a chunk of folks in both Arizona and North Carolina. Who are willing to cross the aisle? Is that fair? You know I think that is fair in I think they're more folks that are that are willing to split their ticket take again North Carolina's an example. So we have a democratic governor and obviously we voted for Donald Trump for president twenty sixteen. So that was the same election we end up with one Democratic candidate one Republican candidate winning at the top into the ticket There are four counties in our state that actually voted for both of those folks I'm sitting in one of them today in Jackson County North Carolina were voted for Roy Cooper. Our Democratic governor and we voted for Donald. Trump. So yet maybe that there's some folks that are undecided but I think it may mean that we have slightly more crossover voters slightly more split ticket voters and some other states do right now in the polling and North Carolina there's somewhere between eight and twelve percent of folks who against him they're going to vote for Cooper again, the Democratic governor and are GonNa vote for trump and there is some number although maybe slipping that say that they're going to vote for trump and for cal cutting you. Coronavirus pandemic to cost Americans $16 trillion, study finds

"It's time to talk business financial analyst and broadcaster Louise Cooper Welcome back new. He's good morning. Every time I talked to you there is another enormous. Enormous, figure that sort of boggles the mind to degree that it didn't boggle the mind last week It's getting worse than the reason why I say this is it's covert again and the cost to everybody's economies the united. States that the number is once again extraordinary and the trump with these numbers are so large you think will, what does that truly mean because I just say large I can't comprehend it. So this is the former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers coming out with a Harvard. Harvard professor coming out with a number as to what they think. It will cost covid nineteen will cost the US economy and it sixteen trillion dollars as you said, a number so fast, it's incomprehensible. So let's put it into context. So sixteen trillion dollars by the way, it is kind of a guess and hopefully we'll get a vaccine and that will that will put it all behind a sixteen trillion dollars that's almost an entire year. GDP if the economy tire years output of the American economy is almost sixteen trillion dollars, I mean the numbers huge. It's more double more than double what the US suspend on wars since nine eleven, servings, Afghanistan Iraq Syria wherever. So it's a huge number. I guess the number I liked put it into context is it's four times more costly in the global financial crisis. It. Okay. So that's the best number half of it is lost to GDP half of health, and it really does give a sense as to how cataclysmic this event is four times more costly than the global financial crisis and what does this mean as the number gets bigger and bigger and bigger? What does this mean in terms of the longevity of this crisis in coveted coming back round again, it's not going away anytime but the effect that it's having on jobs and lives and employment. Yes, and this is this is. A huge number. What relevance is that the relevant that is to you is that you may lose your job. Your income will go down. The value of your house may go down in my end up in negative equity where your mortgage is larger than than the the the. The the value of your house, it means your children and your grandchildren will be repaying the debt for decades to come it just means. Less wealth less, holidays support. Less going out to eat or even losing your home depending where you are on the income scale I mean it's quite interesting. This morning, we've also had something from the International Energy Agency warning about the the the damage kroner to the oil industry taking dimond taking years to recover years to recover oil domon down about eight percent this year, and by the way again, a bit like Larry. Summers that assumes we get a fax saying the world goes back to normal relative normal next year. So I mean these are still quite optimistic best-case scenarios giving we've heard today there's been another pause from another vaccine I think this was the Johnson and Johnson coronavirus vaccine.

Gov. Brian Kemp, state health officials warn of ‘Twindemic’ of COVID-19 and flu season

"Good afternoon on the media, Cooper, and here's what's happening. I think Take a message from the governor and for me is that everybody continue to follow the prevention guidelines to wear a mask the social distance. Fire's hasn't disappeared. That's Dr Kathleen to me, telling reporters it's important to stay vigilant during this pandemic. The Georgia government is also worried about a possible duel pandemic of flu and the Corona virus to me, told reporters this morning. It was important for people to also get their flu shots this year. She says it could end up being devastated. If there's a really bad flu season, combined with Corona virus flu never been more important to get a flu shot this year. So we realized that people sometimes don't think of flu shot is effective or afraid to get it or just don't bother. This is particularly important this year or trying to prevent twin dynamics of Koven plus influenza. Which could be devastating. We don't know what the presence of employees and they do to a common infection. Georgia Governor Brian Camp is also praising residents following a drop in the Corona virus positivity rate. The governor said this morning. Less than 1300 people are hospitalized with the virus, which is a major drop from his P Kim says. Georgians should not become complacent still were mass practice, social distancing and good hygiene, he added. George's unemployment rate is currently over 5%, but there have been plenty of job gains.

Spittin' Chiclets: Featuring Stanley Cup Champions Alex Killorn and Pat Maroon

"About confident free agents Biz while. Tab Maroon is once again an unrestricted free agent after winning back to back cups and I think we should send it over to him for his unique perspective on winning cup. Let's do it tied Maroon folks. Joy. now come on now is just the third guy of the expansion era to go back to back Stanley Cup champions with two different teams. He wanted of course last year at Saint. Louis. And he wanted again on Monday with the Tampa. Bay Lightning. Any certainly appears to be having one hell of a time celebrating down in Tampa congratulations on Stanley Cup number two, and thanks for joining us on spitting chocolates. Patty Maroon. Extra I appreciate it. Thanks Boys Arrived what an intro it's been a crazy couple few days as you can tell through my voice but. I still can't believe it. I it. It's nice to see you shared on first off. I thought there was no chance. You weren't to keep that going for the pod going to take it off, take it off of start. It off right but. You're speaking to your body. I heard you were having a sumo wrestling way offs with Ovechkin in the fucking. What's happened there? Who who had their? known everyone had me and and. I mean it was it was honestly what tonight that was to like. Doing way off with Ob and you know said there. Now of other boys I, mean it was not man like the whole the whole time. So it's good to hang out with those guys and actually have a couple of drinks get their personalities. Just who would ever thought I mean yourself. Acoustic. Saint Louis and to bring a cop to your hometown, and then you're you're not resigned which I trip them the other day I said, what we signed this guy fucking signed for nine hundred Tampa right like Jesus Christ but I digress. But then you go over to Tampa you've new John Cooper fifteen years ago whenever it was like just take me through your thought process on everything that's happened. If you really not even had the time to sit back and think about how special this has been. I mean I've had time but as you guys know the last. Few Days I've been. Pardons grank it. I've been bamboo go myself a couple days. So no I mean I had time. I mean when Kook got the call and he? When he called me, I got the call from it was you know he was like, Hey, what are you thinking about coming to Tampa let me talk to joy on Jimmy. Call Conversation with some other teams in the work but until then I wanted to go to a team that I wanted to win on and. And I thought Tampa. What they went through last year was I thought I can help their locker room I'm not going to help them on the scoresheet every single night but I know I can help them stick out from their teammates they can play a little bigger you know like Kuch can play bigger Tyler Johnson Stammer, Polat they can all play bigger and feel comfortable they have no No someone that can protect them that knew that a group That one at all and and I know I had history with winning Kooks. So was just icing on the cake. So I think he needed is good luck charm to win that cup for. You're too modest about the scoresheet thing because you're picking off sauce in the final game a mid air in the neutral zone. How good that one feel That felt good. How? Those are some Sekhmet Sarah, you look like, Kucherov on every single fucking bad pass that goes around him. He's like he's like the video game. If you just put it in his vicinity, he's going to find a way to get it on a stick in order to make a play. That guy is ridiculous. Kucherov in when he's in warm ups. Going like sixty percent and then that's a game. percent. Sean areas give me a shout out to about my stick. So. I can't complain about that. Now I mean fuck I don't know I black out there they go ahead my hands up in their bitching at the bench is you're telling me to get off and I was. Still made the places like shut up I know how long should be here. This long enough best partners I thought Volkov. It his first game and I was going nuts. Now's like who scored that I go to the pilots Coleman I was like Oh shit maybe I should have changed. Unreal that we've talked to other guys about the day to day aspect of the bubble and obviously you guys one in a great view guys. But how challenging did a gift? Not necessarily you but just the daily day to day grind of every day the same thing over and over again. I'm in it was a grind for sure. Are I think the problem is like? I'm so used to. An old but I'm used to leave an anthony every single year obviously the year before stayed in St Louis but I always used to being away from family. And I know some guys were asking me questions you know what it's like and it's GonNa hit home for you when you're two weeks and then a month and in a bubble that. You're a month and a half man and your family you can't see your kids and. And then when you get into. Yourself closer to the Stanley. Cup or the conference finals here trying to get your family Americans can't come in, but the Canadians can. Kinda sucks, and but we came together as a group during that whole time Toronto. We had Polka Ball. We had We had tennis courts. We had a pool outdoor We had like five restaurants. We had the beam oldfield where you can go over and play Spike Ball. Soccer football play catch. You know there's kind of a bar outside there's a restaurant open there at five o'clock. So we had we had thanks to do and trial. Then when you got the advertisement was kind of. The we call it the prison yard, which it wasn't, but it was a cement concrete where you can tell why guys in Edmonton were struggling probably more than the guys who? got the free ice caps. So I heard. Horton's. Best the. A free double doubles in the front. And So yeah, I mean it was. It was tough at times for sure when you're sitting there grinding your way, but we're fortunate to have a good team. So we never felt like we were out of it and I know you guys touched on a bit like when the teams down three one, three two or you kinda thrown in the towel just to get home like we didn't have that feeling we had a feeling. We're like we were wedding every single game and we're never done in this series resides in Boston down beside besides Dallas and so we always knew we'd find a way so. We're going home mentality attitude we came together. You know obviously. You guys know hotels you you. You have a few drinks, but it's Kind of hanging out and you really don't have anyone Cannellino beside yourself and your body is at your part of the team. So you kind of have to make make ends meet and I thought we did a good job with that.

Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line In Flux Due To Injuries

"Have lots of talk about as it relates the cowboys I just what I think of this team this year and the expectations after Jerry Jones finally made the gutting decision that led to Jason Garrett showing up the building every day with a binder underneath his arm and dutifully hoping that he would. Get a stay of execution cowboy fan celebrated not only the draft pick a CD lamb but a coach was skins. Mike McCarthy hasn't exactly translated into the season that they had hoped for, and we're expecting some of it has to do with injuries bobby and we'll get to those in a second but a lot of teams are having to deal with injuries this year. Yeah. I, mean, the team the cowboys have up here the browns they've got a lot of injuries to deal with I. Mean The seahawks had you know a lot of patchwork stuff that they were doing last Sunday against the cowboys and so injuries are an excuse they're not necessarily a good excuse though for this cowboys team I think they, they definitely are missing some guys. They probably feel a little bit like we're not gonNA know who we are for real until probably mid October when randy gets reinstated fully you get hopefully late and vander aeschbacher. Corner start getting healthy so. It may be a situation where the cowboys are kind of you know we're GONNA fight and we're GONNA get as best we can until we get healthy and that's not necessarily an excuse that they're giving. It's just this is the way it's gotta be, and we kind of make do a little bit because they are decimated in the secondary. They've had issues at linebacker they've you know had the issues along the offensive line they lost jar when they're starting tight end and So I, mean they've definitely. Had those issues the thing that they don't want. You, you can't really do anything about injuries. You just adapt as best. You can the thing they don't want his they can't have. Three drops and you know two and a half yards per touch from Zeke Elliott. They can't have Jalen Smith missing tackles consistently and still be sixty million dollar guy they can't have. Dak Prescott turning the ball over. They need to have him protecting the ball. They can't have you know some of these. Occasional Amari Cooper focus drops. You expect injuries you deal with those. What you can have is all of that and then along in the secondary, you can't have guys just making really low I q reads and busted covered just stuff that doesn't seem to be a factor of trying to learn a new defense. This just seems like flat out low I q stuff of not recognizing who's assignment is who's You know I think back to Jalen Smith's comment to a about. Throwing it out through a little bit. Maybe they need to simplify the playbook if our fans aren't familiar with that one, let's play that one real quick. People, find beams the defense could innocent the group. Absolutely. Absolutely. I. Believe. Allowing more allowing US more opportunities to Hound in on what? We're actually going to run in in our game plan. I believe it's important. That each and every player knows in and out what they have to do. With a smaller playbook, you you know gives us better opportunity to do that. And like I said this about as growing each and every week. On coaches are the same page, the players on the same page and we're just trying to do whatever it takes to get that much better. Each and everyone is that players that aren't capable of learning the playbook or is it possibly too complicated? I don't know but I, got to tell you for all the people that wanted Rod. Marinelli Outta here have been overly impressed with Mike Nolan's defense. Again, injuries are an issue, I mean you lose Gerald McCoy loosely Van Deresh. You lose your to starting Corner Anthony Brown, and Lucy, but even they were healthy in that first game. I didn't think this team look that good. No, and you know it's again it's one of those things where not even a mention he's been healthy for the season but Jordan Lewis missed all the camp. I. Sale. Yeah. Exotic Woods was a big part of your problem last Sunday against the seahawks but I think overall everybody's got to step up. You know it's funny. We had Had the funny line during training camp. When asked him do you think about opting out at all and he said, Nope, contract to your baby and there's a lot of guys back there right now in contractors Jordan Lewis Cheeto you've got exertive your woods is another one. And it's fascinating that they're seeming to have these issues not just with again, the adjustment or or or skill players opposite them it's they're just dropping the ball in terms of. Knowing really basic fundamental stuff that that should have been all ironed out already and and you can say, maybe that's a a an issue with you didn't have some of the same lead up time or some of the same work that you would normally get but everybody had those same sort of issues and and not everybody is having these same sorts of just busted coverage touchdowns. I. Think there's four already on the year that were just left wide open by somebody not knowing an assignment including three last week against the

Woman leads cops on high-speed chase after unusual request

"And. Today's Redneck News. This is from Oklahoma. For the cops, they pulled over this woman, her name is. Emily owings. When they wanted up the car, they asked for her license and the registration. The only form of ID she had was her medical marijuana card. Yes legal, right? Yeah. So they they ran her name they've found out the jihad, a suspended license now. So this really wasn't going well. She asked them. Just let her go for two reasons. One Birthday. And to and I quote. I have to Poop so bad. All right. Yeah which I've heard before is what everybody tries to use diarrhea I get like once on my birthday speeding really you let it go or you told them he added. Let it go. I told him it was my birthday and then let me go okay in your answer. Yes. Getting poop. poop. poop. POOP so bad. So here's a little bit of that and the cop telling her that she also has a warrant in another county why for fighting a police officer? Here go to spend it. I don't know and now I'm waiting to see if you have warrants through woods county and. Really going. Because I knew your license suspended. National Cooper. Good question. Why can't you just let me go. Find out that you got a worn out for fighting a police officer I'm sure there's going to be the. Best part is if she did poop chute probably get extra charges. because. She did tell her that she did say that she had a boot. So when they went to arrest her, she sped off and they caught her after a high speed chase and they arrested her on several felony charges. We as they were arresting her, she had a request yours the audience warrant what's going on there if I'm GONNA get. You. Can I poop in your car? Okay. Car Wash. They added extra

What's Your Story

"This is the Jaakko unraveling podcast episode nine with Daryl Cooper and me Jaakko, willink. So. Last time we were talking about. The stories that we tell ourselves and then how We get stories in groups in those start to expand in those start to unify people together. And it seems that we have an instinct towards. Some level of those. Stories unifying us to a point to where we start to drift into just straight tribalism. And then we actually use those stories and change those stories. As a tool to strengthen our tribes even more. And I know you had some some interesting stories, slash myths. That that that kind of represent that very well throughout history we've seen this it's it's it's tapping into. A basic. A basic way that our mind structures reality for us right I mean if you think about. How you teach. The youngest children something if you need to teach them something, you need him to tie their shoes right? How you GonNa do that through imitation you're gonNA show them do what I do. Right that's the same thing that like chimpanzees how they teach their children things. As they get a little bit older was the next way that you're going to teach them stuff probably maybe by like five six, seven years old you're GonNa Start Teaching them basic things about what a good person behaves like whatever you're GonNa do it through stories right? That's like the next level up. It's like later on down the road, you can start talking about kind of concepts right? You can start teaching them. Teaching somebody things in terms of you know instead of telling you a story about prince charming and this is how a man should treat a woman. You're going to learn through this story and internalized that maybe later on, we can say this is the essence of love and how love operates and Blah Blah Blah but stories narrative is how we how we structure reality and understand things and very, very profound way. Yeah. I've written a bunch of books. The two of the leadership books that I've written actually all three of the leadership books that have written are. Heavily based on stories stories from combat and then stories from the civilian sector. And and obviously people the feedback I get all the time and we have the principles written in there in extreme ownership in their leadership. We write the principal clearly in there. Hey, this is called covered move. This is what it means. But people never say Oh, thanks for spelling out the principal for me. They say Oh love the way you guys told the story in that I could see it. So yeah, this is not just something that we do for kids I mean the. With US sticks with US forever, and it's such a great way to to get your point across much more powerful way and for certain things, it's the only way. Right I. Mean. There's just like you're not gonNA tell somebody breakdown into philosophical concepts had a tie your shoes. You just got shown him and tell him i. do there are certain things that? You just have to use a story. That's the only thing that's really going to serve that purpose and elucidating the principles we are really doing there is saying, okay, you know all those stories this one, I just told you in the book. Yeah. But all those other ones you've always heard and there's that there's that thing that the leaders are doing something. This is what it is right and so you're drawing out that communality and those stories by stating the principles. interesting when you said. These you actually brought it up perfectly in my mind. When you said these stories, we tell ourselves can be unifying, and then that same story can become like a divisive type of tribalism right and it reminded me of this this book. call. It's book about the. Rwandan. Genocide by Philip Gourevich who also wrote a really powerful book on Abu Ghraib actually it's very, very You, know? Eric. Weinstein. Actually knows that guy believe he's married to a friend of their family and if at all possible I think it'd be a great guy for you to talk to certainly possible. Just incredibly, morally sensitive writer just a very, very interesting guy anyway, and so in this book about the Rwandan genocide, what's it called we wish to inform you that tomorrow will be killed with our families. I have that one I haven't done it yet. Man I I did Michetti season was kind of. All right. There's one there's one more maybe it's that one life life laid bare? Probably switching is by the same guy who wrote. Interviews the victims brutal. It's as brutal as you think. Yeah. and. So in this book, we wish to inform you that tomorrow we will be killed with our families Goes through when it's just harrowing book as You can imagine at the end of it. He relates this story. That took place. As the genocide was winding down I believe in this girl's school in Rwanda. Some of the entire homeway militias were still running around the rebels had come back and we're pushing back against him, but this was still ongoing. And a bunch of them came into this girl school. And we're trying to figure out who are the Tuzi. So we can kill them all. And they were telling him you know who to girls on one side tootsie girls to the others and on the other side and either girl he's a grade school girls. They refuse to separate themselves out from the Tuzi girls in so that they could know who they were, and one of the girls said that there are no who Tuzi here. There are only Rwandans here. And a lot of them died they all the killed, all of them rather than kill none of them and eventually somebody came broke it up, but a lot of them died. And if you think of that like Whoa okay That's something that in a lot of context were told is a dirty word that's nationalism right I mean that's what it is. Nationalism in the United States is what got Irish people and Italian people in German people to say Oh Germany's attacking people in Europe. We gotta get together and go over there and stop them right. Very unifying thing. That same force is what got Germany to start the fight in the first place. And so identity is a very interesting thing because you go up above the blood level. And everything after the blood level is a story. That's what it is right and you need a story to keep it together. You look at a place like United States we need a story more than anybody.

Why You Should Abandon Your Vision

"I enjoin today by Brant Cooper. Brent is the author of the New York Times Bestseller. The lean entrepreneur visionaries create products innovate with new ventures and disrupt market. With over two. Of expertise helping companies bring innovative products to market. Rent plans agile design thinking. Lean methodologies to ignite entrepreneurial action within large organizations. Thanks so much for joining me today brand. Thanks for having me Diane Nice to be here. Well I am thrilled to have you here This is this is I'm really looking forward to this conversation. because. You've got this this split between like industrial thinking and entrepreneurial spirit and and I think especially in the Times that we're in right now it really matters and I'm wondering. If you would talk some about. Industrial minded thinking and how it actually affects business growth. That's the way I think about that. The industrial thinking is really the technology disruption that happened during. A The last century, the industrial age. was really about massive new technology that. To this day has is having a ripple effect. So that type of disruption happens in the core of. The economy so it's typically funded by government entities and the new technology disruption typically emerges out of large rnd centers of the biggest companies in the world as well as. Research Universities, and so we have this sort of this sexy idea about. Disruption and innovation happening with startups and it's quite possible that. Startups are the ones that take that new technology to the market and find the market fit. But the technology invention itself tends to happen in the very core of economy. That's where it starts thinking of the first computers were. The huge mainframes inside of the largest universities in the largest corporations. And that disruption Then starts rippling out to the economy, and so it starts with the buyers also just being large entities, other large universities and government and other big companies. But as that technology ripples through the economy you start getting. More invention on top of the core disruption and new products and services that are being offered and the ripple ends up out to the edge, and that's where we are today we're out at the very edge. Everybody's walking around with a computer in their pocket, and so most of the disruption that's happening in our economy happens out there on the edge, say Uber or AIRBNB or facebook even. It's the very end users whose lives are changed by the adoption of these products and services that was first enabled by that massive technology disruption but now disrupts on the edge. Now. The interesting thing is that it's not technology disruption out on the edge. So there's no technology invention or innovation really that happened at. Or AIRBNB or facebook. And yet the. Companies are often trying to emulate the innovation practices of that core technology disruption and instead of looking at ways of how do we actually do disruption? How do we do invention or innovation on the edge and the practices are different and so that's fundamentally. My my take on on why entrepreneurs and even large companies today that WanNa be quote unquote innovative they have to think of new practices in order to innovate out on the edge. Okay. So Talk to me about than the entrepreneurial spirit. Right to the entrepreneurial spirit is instead of thinking of invention, right? which was the technologist before the entrepreneur today needs to understand their customers deeply. And they can run experiments in order to validate or invalidate their assumptions and they use evidence in order to make decision making. And the reason is, is because the the consumer these days the customer has so much information on products and services in the words of companies right I mean. If a company does something wrong? It's all over social media. So the old branding went with that old school technology invention innovation and so. The entrepreneur's spirit. Is this what I call the threes empathy experiments in evidence. which allows those entrepreneurs out on the edge to understand their customers deeply and instead of worrying about say intellectual property, Ip portfolio or whatever. Their goal is to obtain customer insights and those customer insights which drive differentiation, and if you can capitalize on those insights, you're the one that's going to win in the marketplace.
