On the current bond amount Governor Pritzker defending his decision to expand covert 19 vaccine eligibility to those with pre existing conditions. He's confident Maura Vaccine is coming. With the federal government, evoking the Defense production act and more new vaccines coming online. Johnson and Johnson has a new vaccine that it is bringing before the FDA. The week of February 25th and I'm hopeful. I think we all are that that will be approved. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle in Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot released a joint statement earlier today. Saying that they don't have enough vaccine to handle the current number of people eligible for the shot. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Cook County Board Prison and Toni Preckwinkle, as I mentioned a moment ago, won't follow the governor's plan to expand covered 19 vaccination eligibility form or on why they won't do it. WGN's Ryan Burrow. In a joint statement released Thursday, the mayor and county board president said expanding those who qualify in the one B category would add more than a million people, making it harder for seniors, frontline essential workers and those in the most covert burden communities to get a vaccine. They say, Give unlimited supply. They must make tough choices as leaders of the most populous city and county in the state, but they had they look forward to expanding eligibility is vaccine supply Improves. Bryan Burrough, WGN news about 70,000 CPS students returned to classrooms today if her fingers re opening of key through eat schools this just days after an agreement reached between teachers and the district. CPS CEO Dr Janice Jackson said that the district is working on a plan to allow parents who initially signed up for remote learning to eventually send kids back to class. When I talked to families about, you know, remote learning, or why they haven't sent their kids to school, many of them say we'll send them back. When you guys figure it out. We figured it out, and so now our doors will be open for the fourth quarter, and we'll be putting more information out about that. In the coming weeks, she says. Discussions have begun with the teachers union over real. Opening high schools, well, just in time for Valentine's Day and the long prison and stay a weekend bars and restaurants in Chicago today are now able to serve more indoor customers under reduce restrictions. Bars and restaurants will be allowed to expand a 25% capacity or 50 people per room or floor in order to increase restaurant bar, a capacity to 40%. Chicago must drop below 400 Nuke over 19 cases per day for three straight days. Sam Toya is president and CEO of the Illinois Restaurant Association. He says he's still not happy. You only have an occupancy of 100 can't put 50 people in there. That's 50%. To put 25% so the larger restaurants, this helps the smaller restaurant and our neighborhoods like Jefferson Park Rogers Park, Chatham Little Village, Bronzeville pulling. It's not helping it. As the city and state continues to see a loosening of covert mitigation measures, thanks to a decrease a new cases. All regions in the state are currently in phase four of the reopening Illinois plan. Next phase Phase five under that phase a steak and essentially returned to pre pandemic activities. Dr Robert Murphy, professor of infectious diseases at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Tells w G and a large portion of the public needs to be vaccinated before that can happen.
