"I'd like to report our feckless governor Gretchen Whitmer. We literally killing people, but not provided on a second. What are we saying here that she's denying covid treatment so vis a vis holding back treatments is hurting people. Exactly exactly what she's doing. She's she went as far as signing a mammal. Preventing doctors and clinics. From prescribing, Uh The medication that has been curing people all over the world. Sure medication that was, um Medication is that you know, we have We've seen that help people all over the world. Like, uh um You know her son. Let me just jump in real quick and thank you so much for the call. You know it's interesting because I just looked at an article today. It's from last week, but it's coming out of Idaho. Of all places. Big shout out to all of our listeners in Idaho. And it's not so much about the pros or cons of these. These, um Benefits of drugs like I ever met in and hydroxychloroquine, But it's about how I remem has disappeared from pharmacies because of there's the demand for it right. There's such a high demand for it that they just can't keep the shelves stocked. In I've ever met in pharmacies. And this in particular in Idaho, which I thought was interesting, because you know, we used to rely on a free market and we used to pay attention to the things that worked and it seems like we're in bizarro land now. We're in a place where what was no longer is
The Pros and Cons of Soya Beans
"The only time to my knowledge that i've ever eaten a soybean in soybean form is at amami those green pods you get as a starter at sushi restaurants which i love so young soybeans which is what mommy is is generally esteemed but once you actually had the mature bean and then you try to cook it. The results tend to be less than appetizing. Gen fu is a professor at emory university. Who studies the history of science technology and medicine in china. And she's the author of the other milk. She published under jetson but she goes by wendy her everyday life. So that's what we're going to call her. This episode wendy told us that the soybean was likely domesticated in what's now northeastern china. Right on the border with korea wild soybeans and then domesticated soybeans. They're not particularly high maintenance. They grow well in a lot of different regions and their beans which are in general. A good thing to and so people ate a lot of them. It isn't early crowd that is recognized and becomes part of what is known as the classical grains. so we know that soybean is not actually green but it was treated as sort of staple food similar to weet As well as rice it was a staple yes but it was only a staple out of necessity. Like wendy said. The mature soybean has some issues more so even than many of its fellow colleagues. It causes pretty intense gas innocent flatulence and even though like all means it's packed with protein. It also contains a chemical that means our bodies kant really process that protein but there is a way around the protein blocking problem and at least a little of the flatulence problem and that is to boil the crap out of mature

"What are the pros and cons of gainer protein guy. The room now. Do you know if they're not as worse. They're they're not as popular as they used to be. That's why don't you. Oh bro you would light up the room. If you have a lot of these these are the ones that come in. These huge canisters. Like this big. You take nine hundred hazard lisa time. This was a huge market in the nineties. Not so much now but in the nineties this was one of the big moneymakers. And you know like I think twin lab gainers fuel was one of the ones that was starting to be popular site. Oh gainer or cytokine heavyweight gainer nine hundred that wants to exist and meghan ask him out and what they would do is the the number kept going up. I remember it was like the masking or worse. So be like five hundred calories a shake and then the nine hundred thou- it got the point where there were shakes. that were four thousand calories. How did they make that happen. They will they pack 'em full of of carbohydrates a bucket for a fucking san. That was the other i remember. The first time i bought masking or four thousand was literally looked like a paint bucket. Pros & Cons of the Rode NTG-3 Shotgun Microphone
"The road in tj. Three a shock. I'm mark not a traditional choice for a podcast is still my favorite mark. My voice when. I'm speaking completely in awe selection if it's just going to be may on the recording like maybe on the bubble podcast for example which is a tv podcast that. I don't like a hubby cher. That mock works. Great for that when i think about what. I'd like to san locked recorded. That mike doesn't fill me. It gets me there but there are a few issues with the mark being a super cardio. Patent mania has a very taught pickup patent in front of the microphone. Basically when those patents start to become more narrow it does open up a window at the back of the marker fine for whatever reason physics that you will sell a some re noise problems. So if you've got a holly reflective surface directly behind the mic or annoy souls like a small feign or an air conditioner on the wall directly behind the mock you will mice lockley pick up more of that san than you're expecting to and the other thing is and this is something that ryo tiger actually mentioned to me that ryo tiger from the podcast. Roundtable shukan mocks. Ken behave little bit strangely in very small rooms and i mean a very small room at the moment. This is a small bedroom. That i mean now so i don't use it in. He because when tested adding this is the smallest of ever obtaining podcasting was basically just the studio and that it does and very booming here. And i'm not sure why is just the way does marks wick. It does tend to send muddy if it's not in exactly the right place in the room. Like i could find a spot in this room but i had to three lodge catches in so unless i'm going to record standing up talking to that mike where can move around a little bit. I'm kind of limited. As to where i can actually position myself. Sorry i would bar. I shock on mike and try in your space. I if at all possible because in my opinion you're either gonna get close to the best vocal sant that you're gonna be able to get or it could be really hard to deal with
Dr. John DeMartini on The Difference Between Deeply, Meaningful Grace vs. Superficial Gratitude
"There's a difference between superficial gratitude and deep meaningful gratitude or grace when things really gives us something that does something for lines of supports what our values are. It's easy to say gratitude. Thank you when things challenged. We don't always see how it's going to service so real grace courage when you're able to see that the things that challenge you have a hidden order in in you can see beyond your apparent chaos and she the discover the real meaning by what this happening sudden. We're a bit cocky and slightly criticizes us. It's actually helping us become authentic and so we can actually stop and not. Just be grateful for things that make it easy. You know supportive but actually take on the challenging. We can embrace the support in the challenge. Equally praised reprimand Without reaction and grace. Then we deeply meaningful grace that guides our live authenticity and to contribution and i think that would philanthropic component needs to love beings regardless like the sun shines on the saints in the center the support of the challenger. If we wanna be lighted our life we need to be able to raisin gratitude for both sides and see how we can use it on the way the quarter rely spatially acquire. The questions asked if we ask how is whenever it's happening support challenging house and helping us fulfill what we feel is deeply important meaningful value and what we want to do in this world and i think that's a true gratitude that occurs regardless if the outer circumstances and i try to keep records of both of those the opportunities and the and the challenges. You know the the pros and cons consi both of them with with gratitude. That's the real touched. Absolutely let you sleep at night otherwise. If you're only great for one half when the other half you feel ungrateful and your polarize. Then you have this kind of split instead of the synthesis so being grateful for whatever happens both sides and discovering by asking questions intuited questions. How is this on the way. Not in the white

Lukaku Looks for Chelsea Return
"Raking holiday to join us to discuss roman lucon q. And the possibility of joining chelsea before we get to that. Let's you back to july. Shall we say to say revenue. Kaku is untouchable for us. This summit we can say yes absolutely. Lukarco is not for sale. New cargo is an important piece on the chessboard. Available to in zoghbi. However obviously the story has snowballed over the last seventy two hours. These were protests today from the inter. Milan fans saying board. pay attention. Promises should be but it looks like new kaku is returning to chelsea. Gazettes us saying lukarco towards goodbye. Meanwhile credit sports saying lukaku atmosphere of farewell. Gab this is gonna happen isn't it certainly pointing in that direction. And the reason is and you saw signs from from injuries. Alturas interest supporters The papers they know what's happening at inter they know the degrade financial difficulties that the parent company soon has faced. They were told that there had to be cutbacks That's part of the reason why antonio conte left but there were also told that okay Hakeem he's moving on and we're gonna cash on hand And that's it. You saw those words from dr Now it's a little more subtle it's not just about not selling lukaku. Also they said if it comes in does go and we accept that we get stupid price for him. You have to sell them We want that money reinvested in the team. And it's not fair that that's going to happen. as opposed to in the money may be flowing back out to the parent company or perhaps simply being used to pay down the debt And that's really the crux of the matter. Georgetown Law Professor Barnett on What to Expect From the Presidential Commission
"Pros and cons. Um, of in favor of the different report foreign proposals that they're listening to, so they're going to do the pros and the cons and I, the witnesses that they have are hearing from by and large. I think the majority of them have been against core packing, including Left of centre professors from Harvard, like Noah Feldman and from Duke, like Neil Siegel. Um, now there's been some Ford it but mostly they've been against it where I think they're going to see more pros than cons, and I already get that sense from listening to their questioning is on court is on term limits. Because I would say more a majority of people. They're hearing from kind of favorite term Memphis, and I think that's even true. Some of the commissioners so they're going to get you're not going to get a recommendation. You're going to get a balance. You're going to get a report that shows pros and cons and there is like there are like seven or eight right of center originalist scholars on this commission Which is kind of how I got to testify out of how many Out of 30 or more. I mean, it's it's imbalanced. But look, there's more balance on this commission. And there is at the Georgetown law School. I can tell you Well, yeah, there's more balance at the, uh, on the in the polar Bureau and Communist China than there is any. Now let me ask you You're

S.A. Cosby on 'Razorblade Tears'
"As a cosby joins us now from southeastern virginia gloucester specifically he is the author of the new book razor blade. Tears also blacktop wasteland. And a few other books sean. Thanks for being here. Thank you so much. Haven't usa pleasure. So this is a spoiler free. Podcast i just want to say that front because this is a book that is full of really unexpected. But well earned plot twists. Give us the premise of razor blade. Tears basically reasonably tears the story of two one black one white both ex-cons whose sons on mary and at the beginning of the book. Unfortunately these two sons murdered and these two fathers who will never accepting of their son's sexuality decided to investigate the crime when be lease investigation stalls and in doing so they are trying to achieve thinned for their sons but also i think trying to get redemption for themselves in the ways. They weren't there for their children in life. They're attempting to be there for them in death. Let's talk a little bit more specifically about those two anti hero. Heroes you've got buddy lee jenkins and slash riot randolph. Who are they. They are men of certain age that come with a certain amount of baggage. Because of that age they are both hard scrabble. Southern men who are more alike in have more in common than either one of them could imagine but they're also meant that i think are internally broken in a way that precluded him being able to communicate their sons and i think hinder their relationship with their children and also hinders relationships with other people. I for all his self possessed. Gravitas is still battling with his temper at moments with buddy lee. He's kind of mired himself. This sort of self imposed existential exile from the rest of humanity and so when their sons is sort of snaps amount of this spiritual me ease that they put themselves into the giving to their darker impulses but for a greater good.

"Hey guys mubarak have in penny stock copier doing well in this episode. I wanna talk to you guys about how today. Trade crypto currency right. You've seen a lot of people make a lot of money from it. And to be honest it's one of the only methods left in the kind of Financial market world where you can actually still win all right. The reason for that is because all of the other markets and exchanges you know stocks commodities gold silver forks foreign exchange options. They've pretty much been taken over by billion dollar institutions. That have too much money in software built in right. There's algorithm ick trading. There's other people's money involved than there is. Phd's from harvard wall street and pretty much. It's almost too competitive to kinda win. England's Penalty Mess
"It's an e cetera england of taking it very well as you can imagine it will end is so no not again heartbreak. A lot of questions of course about the penalty takers and why in fact it was soccer. A teenager who who's at the last one is about southgate. Said i decided on the penalty take is based on what they've done in training. That's michael. it totally rests with me. We were through them in training. This is the order we came to. We knew they were the best. Take as we have left on the pitch. This was the reaction. The boys heard that quote on yesterday showed dots the most insane sentence that i have already in football. I choose the player. We're going to kick the penalty. Never work like that would never work that. If i'm a greenish character. And i know i'm one hundred million poem player eventually talking i'm going in mindset shipper talent experienced. Yes i think this is the only only the second fantasy we've done which is named after someone. Yeah because you had the cash gal gallo and this one. The montmartre fallacy is named after robert mcnamara. Who will see. Us sector defense from nine hundred and sixty one to nineteen sixty eight and he was previously an executive at ford and did very well for ford in terms of kind of finding stuff that could measure measure and fixing those things that they weren't doing as well He also saved a lot of people's lives by insisting that will fold cons had seat belts and things like that Which is proprietor. The government requiring it But then he killed a lot more because he was secretary of defense during vietnam tried to measure that stuff. Yeah yeah. He tried studies. Yeah le- and death the myanmar fantasy as when people focus on something which can be measured at the expense of possibly the more important stuff. So you've the things that are easy to measure as important because you can measure them in that you can kind of affect change but you kind of dismiss all look as unimportant the stuff which is hard to measure like qualititive stuff clueless the tips so moore was in vietnam and they wanted to figure out you know if they will winning right Basically what he did was said. Mens Fashion in The South With Marcel Ames of X of Pentacles.
"Is it like to proselytize bespoke and made to measure neopolitan clothing in the south. It's a battle honestly i. I'll say it's a battle particularly particularly in richmond. i haven't ventured out too much into the south With the brand that. I think that could change obviously As my customer base grows relationships grow. And i can do more things but enrichment. It's kind of like you know you. Have you have pros and cons. You have this pro where you know. There's no one else in the entire state of virginia that does bespoke tailoring except for us. also napolitan tailoring in offering it three sixty five And also you know just as you know for those who don't know when the politician tailoring being so lightweight in unstructured. I even have some jackson just totally made out of fabric. There's no canvases. No nothing you can hold them up in. The breeze blows through it being ideal for this climate. You know you step out of your car like right now. Feels like satan's armpit like when you jump out like the humidity is is insane so it makes sense for us. It makes sense for a lot of people but to make that makes sense to people. Hear his Been you know. I don't want to say an exercising but it's been a lot tougher Especially in richmond will. We aren't necessarily prime yet to sustain luxury things Especially when it comes to clothing you know somebody wanna buy a nice boat or a truck or i'm just naming kind of random. Short like clothing is not a priority for people here at least in terms of classic menswear Obviously we used to have need supply but even they are no longer here Where people kind of exposed to higher end brands and clothing. But there's a you know it's kind of have pockets. And sort of categories. I guess people might assimilate into in the taylor is not one of them. "You. I don't think. I don't think anyone needs to see you with beautiful majesty the queen you lifting the trophy which of course should have england back in ninety six. I'm really sorry not sorry at all. That's really take somehow volume in germany coming into this tournament while it's as you said i mean it's there's a question mark as a question mark there. Obviously it's twenty five years since the last time and that's a long time and so the germans kind of that's part of our nature. We're very impatient. So they have to prove a point. They really have to prove a point ahead of disaster in russia three years ago and they have to make people forget that disaster on one side. The other side of this is really that that a group of players now they have to take matters in their. I wanna hands and they have to get through this very very difficult group. There were friends and portugal. And not to underestimate guarantee so anything can happen already at the group stage but the goal is very simple and i'll because the expectations in germany are always the highest because of football nation is and what they did in the past and so forth so they expect germany to get someway somehow into the final and a yogi live wants to have a positive farewell of his time as head. Coach of the national team has been now the coach for fifteen years and obviously won the world cup in two thousand fourteen in brazil. But but there's aggressive bogging. I agree of young steamy. Let's talk about england showing what a performance against australia. Well if there was one team in luke didn't particularly take this game. They went desperate to. When you've three planning this game. Who are not going to be in you squad. That tells you exactly what you think the importance of this game. So england palestine because they had players missing because of the champions league europa league commitments. Yeah i think. I think the fight. The startling gov.

Mother attends to the gym and squat but couldn't inspired by a victory. Get on the united states. One one draw against denmark. Meanwhile franz's the convincing. Winning ten man wales in the dan delay on the scoresheet. Let's stop the world champion showy jewels. I suppose with regards to the big story going into this game was carrying. Ben simmons return you. Ride on people have been talking about to be fair for the last ten days or even since the squad was announced and today he made his debut. We come back the first time in five years and two hundred and thirty seven days or something. I done gouda shop. He missed the penalty. He deposed as well so he could have been even better than what it was. But what we're all looking for was. He's in the sending them in greece. Men and if they were not making the move not working on each other's toes and i think for third get together for first time together for seventy minutes or something. They look pretty good. They were all just just looking each other understanding each other. The movement battery together and i think he was really promising. Even if we're down to two men because the referee decided to ruin the game by sending of nicole williams when he didn't really need to as a strange decision wasn't considering a friendly and it's all supposed to be about preparation for the year is jill's france. Thanks when you look at that. You've got to win this otherwise it's a massive failure. Thanks for the pressure. Think if you if you carrying beds amount to an already world cup winning squads i think of course it makes them even stronger and we today. I mean he. He's thirty three. He was so good. The movement the first third. She's always amazing with kevin benz. And there's so much more to come. I think because the more we will play with them by agreement by byu command bailey. Contact of them the better he will be. The better team will be what the full three one two one. I'm also sure. I'm not completely convinced. Green as number ten. However there's so many possibilities options solutions to problems even can change through the game. We saw today. Dan billion common coming on a good impact on the game too. So it's really really promising and really exciting. Meanwhile you had been returning for france yeah again. Thomas miller returning to germany correct. I mean everybody's returning you just need to be over thirty and you come back for miller. Favorite number twenty five. They created three more spots now in the european ten up to twenty six so they can squeeze thomas that no no. I mean joking aside. He looks good. Tomas-marella meaney played outstanding season for bio munich. And and he's a team player seems knows exactly what to do on the field. These a leader. He can give really a lot.

"So i think was maybe another option. Maybe the first option. Maybe the second enough to put you know. But i don't think we will happen. What's going on the plan that the fraser. No smoke without fire comes to mind because if it was a simple as that budget comes out and he says i will be here. I don't know these stories are coming from. I'm committed to psg simple. Why not just do that. Shut everyone up and we. We'll move on to question. The only thing he did was posting photo of himself on social media with a phd. Show that saudi did not enough for true. I think he's clearly unhappy by inside that club and probably not so much. He's relationship another. Been more with you and others assistant. He's number two. Who is very influential within the club. I think being so lax discipline everything has to be structured. Everything has to be square and not certainly not. The case in paris hasn't been the case in the last six months. Join the club. So i think on that level. He's been be disappointed by the things that he's seen even sometimes it's not involving him the notice from afar and i think there's a lot of things that he wants sorted out before the next season starts and and we discussed with gabon's well maybe these where to get a new did because that's certainly something. The declared the died he was he was hinting for. Yeah but the. I just saying that john what a young is talking about. We are actually talking about two different candidates down very very different so the two candidates taught them will have is not narcan. I mean whole can you start to have an identity a culture at the club. And then you will. The consequence of that identity is opportunity. No i mean that's never happened then should have two or three candidates kind of kind of signed kelt culture and that is what i think is unbelievable. Encounter comes in for tottenham. Do you have to build up a winning culture and we've seen this week. Chelsea go dubbed makes it very good point that after the tenth place for marino he managed to win the title for chelsea through but they have a cultural winning trophies. Talk now doesn't have that so we need to build that out and then you have to ask yourself as a club is the right one to make the culture of two three years. The answer is probably no on it. Just shows you to candidates counter or patino. Oh please gabby. Who is polish jews that this is. This is nothing isn't even a story. We'll be next season. I mean that was linked with round. So if me like woody tantrum and say you gotta let me go to madrid short but with all due respect to talk hotspur. They're not real madrid. So i think my reading is very simple. I think it's about we've got judicial. It's about the new deal. He's got a year left and you could say just work your contract. We'll see about it later. But you know he would argue. Look i had a good run in the champions league and whatnot and every manager of a top club generally has more than one year left going into the season It gives me more. Authority is shows more faith in me. Give me a new deal. Give me another year Give me some insurances. Maybe vis-a-vis imbaba and whatever and i think that's why he's not shooing away. Those stories linking madrid destroyed thinking of the spurs. I'm not sure i. I can't imagine him. Frankly leaving power says your man now with unless something changes at the club four tottenham finally gab. Oh boy of course presented as the new coach rare madrid today. I'll tell you what if he wants to about koji he could whip around with tv as well. He said every single thing right in this press conference. Great time here. Great relationship with the president. great to be back evolved. The takes every box. He also said something which i think was pretty indicative. Which is i know what it's like to manage route madrid. Because of course he's done it before. I'm not i don't think he's even said it. In the past he left on great terms at the club except for florentino floating. Tina was on the verge of sacking him when they were in the champions league final the ultimately one and then obviously sacked the second year. Because you know manza football genius and he brought in rafa benitez and then sacked rafeh six months later of course. I think that that really stick stuck with him. And there's nothing wrong with changing your mind. It's a sign of intelligence. I think he's a sign of humility from floating day. I say to to go back on on his previous views. And i never thought i'd say humidity in the same sentence but he's right and said look. I made a mistake before now. Things are different now. This is the guy i want. And you're basically getting think he sees him a continuity candidate with zindedine sedan guy. Who's who's a lot. Legs it dan. In many ways maybe a little more extroverted but in terms of managing the older players in terms of being able to play different systems in terms of having delivered silverware. He takes those boxes and like you said he knows the club and of course what else is going to say. Joe's for all of those plans that we've been questioning over the last couple years gareth bale iskoe and has ought. Hey no. i've got faith in one of these players. They are going to be the best on the me. All the winners were automating echoed upset. Thomas fantastic strike ball. What defender was amazing. Kids gun santos. I'm sure you could be set madrid. But but certainly in is management. That's where he would be very good one that they don't want the club he can easily say. Listen you know your time is gone now. This is this new cycle everything you would find the words for everyone. The one who are coming back on loan from from the loan soviet garrett bane he would have been fired up again. Zahn hasn't worked up to season. This is newstalk. This is a new manager. You know that qatar will find the right words for every single member of their squad. The younger one luke why did before also debut to love them and so it would be perfect for all of them. And i think for that just takes the right boxes all the time and a lot more on.

"The thing i love about baggage skiing and most is that feeling of being small in the wild fritz. Sperry rights guidebooks for back country skiers in colorado. It's so amazingly beautiful. And when you get to the top of that mountain you feel like this. Tiny little speck in the mountains are folded out away from you. Like a rippled sheet. You just see what's possible. More and more people are coming to a similar appreciation of the sport back country. Skiing is similar to traditional. Except for you don't have any lifts its human powered up and down. Libor writes about america for the economist. The sport has been much more popular in europe for much longer but in the us in the past couple of decades become increasingly popular. Why has it taken americans longer to come to it back. Country skiing is always inherently dangerous. When you go out into the back country. It's not like a ski resort. You have to go back there and know what you're doing and you have to know how avalanches are triggered so because of the difference in safety culture in the us. I think there are a lot of liability issues. Resorts particularly have been wary of allowing people to use their areas to do back country skiing. But you say that's been changing. Yes you had your sales increasing over the past decade. What you saw with march twenty twenty. You had lots of people come in to ski shops and by all of the backcountry gear that they could get their hands on because they knew that the resorts were shutting down. Backcountry became a way for them to continue skiing for that season in terms. Of course it's fairly safe because you're never really that close to anyone and you mentioned the risks. Surely there's a concern about a whole bunch of novice backcountry skiers up there on the mountains. Alone that's correct and this was a real concern that i heard from both people who are back country skiers themselves and those who are selling them gear last march when things were just crazy a lot of stores saw people buying two thousand dollars worth of that country ski gear but then they didn't spend the extra three hundred dollars for the safety equipment. The concern was that you get into the back country. You can trigger an avalanche in the alps about one hundred people die every year from last year. Six people died in colorado over the entire season this year. In december alone for skiers have already died so there is this real concern that novice skiers are getting into the sport without knowing the risks. And that people who do know the risk because you have a lot of beginners in their old haunts they are going into more dangerous areas and bad something that everybody in. The industry is of nervously watching right now to see the numbers but putting those concerns to one side shirley all this extra effort is worth it for back. Country skiers any memorable experiences. You've the best backcountry skiing. Experience i had was in eastern oregon. You get to the top of the mountain and you're tired. You're sweaty it's cold. That's the moment when you really wonder. Why am i doing this. Then you go down.

"More than nineteen percent. That's an uncommon rise on wall street. And what's behind. The rally is even more unusual for the past few days in particular. The price of game stop has spiked dramatically. Alex fullwood is the economists wall. Street correspondent is massive. price increase. Seems to be down to your community of investors on a stock investing forum on reddit. Who have sort of piled into drive up the price in part seemingly to spite big institutional shortsellers. Okay so talk me through a bit. There's there's a lot going on. There's people on read it. There's some spite. There's a video game store that if people know at all they last thought of it perhaps a decade ago. Let's start with a short selling part. What's been going on with game stops. Share price like many other physical retailers game. Stop haven't been doing very well. Revenues and profits have been falling consecutively. And obviously how difficult time during the pandemic because thousands of retail stores and in general people increasingly by video games online and it share price reflected that in fallen pretty dramatically over the past few years and had been languishing in sort of low. single digits. points in twenty twenty last year. One big investor called brian currin founded an online pet food. Company took a big state in the company which he said wasn't for doubting quickly enough to the digital revolution. In gaming some investors took this as a sign that perhaps things could turn around for game star but other institutional investors were much more skeptical for example called sits on research sent. The company was in a terminal decline and it recommended taking out a short position in this company. It's not when you bet that the share price is getting down by borrowing the shares of a company from someone who holds them and then selling them a lot as big institutional funds agreed and in aggregate. That was so much. Interest engage with this company that the total value of shares have been. Shorted was actually more than the market cap of the company. Okay and where do the people on reddit come into all of game. Soap has become something of a fascination for members of a reddit form. Cool wall street bets which is sort of online forum with a couple of million users mostly amateur day traders and seem to have taken a fancy to gamespot a couple of reasons one is for some of the fundamental points that i mentioned that institutional investors worksites about but also almost in this david and goliath style struggle against these institutional shortsellers. So if you go back to the history and it was september called bankrupting institutional investors for dummies featuring game stop if they got enough amateur investors on wall street betsy to buy a game stop they towed potentially initiate a squeeze on all of these institutions. Have short this company. What do you mean when you say squeeze. How does that work. I saw tweets can hardly wins a lot of short interest in stock and the price of that company starts to rise because investors have borrowed shares. They've until you need to give them back until need to close out that position at some point as the shepherd. I starts to rise. They can get either products to all threat that they'll have to buy a much much higher price than where the market is currently trading and that can fool some shorts to close these positions so as the chaperone starts to rise back and put even more pressure on the share price on calls of spike in the value of that company. And that's what happened here in the first part of the week. It didn't seem that that was the main driver. It seems like all of the positions that were open was still open. So it wasn't that investors will having to close out their positions. That wasn't what was driving. The price higher were that may have changed on wednesday as price action really out of control two of the most notorious famous scholz sichuan research melvin capital base said publicly that they had closed positions and year today. It's not being a good trade for short investors a tool. They've lost several billion dollars so far. And meanwhile this has become something of a stock trade spectator sport yes. There's been a huge reaction across wall street. There's been walled will coverage in the financial press every investor. Gay on cnbc. This is all people have been talking about. And it's even reached the upper echelons of politics say the white house press secretary full taking questions about games. Team including secretary yelling and others are monitoring the situation. It's a good reminder though that the stock market isn't the only measure of the health of our economy at the same time the federal was during powell's also ask questions about what's going on with games. Don't i was hoping that you would. I react to the wild ride. They deem stops stock has had this week and he was sort of very quick to say. There isn't a bubble. This isn't necessarily indicative of sort of wider systemic financial risk. I would say that. Financial stability vulnerabilities overall are moderate. That there's been a lot of attention paid to what's on chat prices by basically everyone inside and outside financial markets and is all this attention all this frenzy limited two game stop shares. One of the dynamics. That might be encouraging. This is that seems to be a secondary effect or a ripple effects going on and other stocks in particular other heavily shorted stocks at least love stocks institutional investors missing. Amc the big cinema chain. That was also hit badly by the pandemic. But all saying things like nokia and blackberry these companies that have been on love for a while and seemed to be struggling have also seen dramatic price increases of the day. Also say i mean this is a tremendous amount of turmoil. Here what about regulators have. They weighed in at all. The big financial markets regulator the securities and exchange commission has said that it is monitoring. What's going on in these forms on. Its own lula for anything that might be various. The most obvious channel through which things might be suspicious if the sec essentially thinks that this is tantamount to mock manipulation now the rules are not quite vague. But in general it involves a group of people contriving together to price around in a way that's totally devoid from fundamentals. There are elements of. What's happened on wall street bets. That seem to fit into that category but it is very different to any of the cases that the sec has litigated with respect to mock depletion. Before so it's possible that the was look at this and say well sort of slightly mad but it doesn't quite meet that standard and believe it alone so in the final accounting here. What do you. Reckon have raiders triumphed over goliath in the way that they set out to do so. This story has been covered is there. It's this great uprising of this. Reddit mall that have stuck at to wall street and a bunch of hedge funds gonna live first reasoning for me was definitely to make some money. But it's a nice hide effect to stick to the big boys and sheldon that we can make money off of them. It is true that many hedge funds have lost money. it's not been great trade saddam but this idea that this torrent of retail trading is bad damaging. Wall street is really quite misguided. For example one of the hedge funds citadel's it helped bailout. Short investors melvin capital the owner of that hedge funds can griffin also owns citadel securities. Which is a big high frequency market mak- and the way that that makes money full. Ken griffin is off of retail overflow. The more retail investors trade more money like citadel securities makes. I'm so the idea that this great surge in retail trading. It is getting into trouble. Most of wall street is potentially misplaced and the way that you probably take to wall street is buying an index fund and leaving it alone because then they can't really make any money off of us but that does require you to step above the fray and.

"Be hot. And in my opinion because i thought they would go for atalanta the pressure but it didn't quite honestly. It didn't deserve to get him from this game. Maria came on we. What ten fifteen minutes ago and scored a superb goal I act does evidently settling on this game deserve nothin and absolutely got nothing cavity being harsh. What's interesting here is. This was a totally different around performance than than what we've seen before they were a lot more defensive. A lot more covered up. Obviously they felt that we're going to come at them And i think credit has to go to to the manager to the players because obviously there was a huge internal confrontation between the manager. Gus benny and his two star players pablo gomez and joseph. It's the reason gomez didn't play at the weekend. They basically in fact joe by the actually resigned and then the club said no. We don't accept your resignation. Go out and play may yet resign in the coming days because of what he considers to be insubordination but for the fact that they could pulled together and for the good of the club come what may and they may not be there when when the champions league resumes could pull together in this way in this game i think says a lot about the the character of these people should is about a penalty. Frank yes. I think so. I think until i was pushed by by the defender and defender maybe tried to to play shoulder against shoulder which is a loud put him in on the on his back solve penalty. And don't forget that. The toronto school. Because i think they were eleven against ten player from sent off just before four for me didn't deserve a second yellow card because he was just trying to get to his balance and not smashing gomez on the face. So i didn't play well. Maybe didn't deserve to go through. But do you have to notify that. They are two major decision from the referee for me was was wrong. Meanwhile in group a it was an interesting second science. I think anyone could have gone in the athletic through but we watch we've had four different gains on every time we will watch this game souls having chances yes.

"Best player overall in real madrid and is proving that everybody that is is a real top striker. When i remember marina was telling him that he wasn't a killer i mean he makes is the for for the team every time he has a chance to score it. Does i mean you could have. I'd hat if you didn't touch the cross ball but it was. It was a fantastic game from remarried. And i'm so ashamed for munching gaza. What kind of game is that when you go. They look like pupils in front teachers. I mean that was such a shame for for for the coach and and the players. I don't understand that kind of that kind of behavior when you play and you know that you need a draw draw but you don't play at all you so scared as he said. I don't understand that they were. It wasn't a professional performance for sure and stevie no coincidence obviously here ronald's back row madrid back winning in the champions the listen. Sergio ramos could assault on the half a cup of tea and a cigarette. All ninety minutes because merchant gladbach is the boy. Said what up. A joke the actually. It kepchik advocate checking the table. To see will the where because the look to say that. I'd already been knocked over. The luther say assad and forth under no chance of going anywhere in the regardless gutless. They didn't chase. it didn't hire. I mean it was just awful. But you can't take away from from particularly benza. To greet head to greek cross. He's and they thoroughly deserve the one. But i mean merging data. What is when this draw comes out. Everybody wants mentioned gladbach. I can tell you that they all through to. That drove the first time ever in the history of the club. Meanwhile extra time.

"Of course with vendors but also with italy at the euros with when he was working casino and a dare and loud and lukaku are better than pele and the dead they look at the midfield but i didn't play tonight but obviously there's tons of excitement. I mean imagine having more than one midfielder who can actually pass the ball imagine having some invigorate in the midfield in the form of of those two oh. I don't think that's what people excited. If you wanna look at the negatives there's a billion negatives. I my opinion. I got question marks over goldeen. Knock doc out there which you don't really wanna see too often this season. They're still an issue with a third striker. There's still the issue. There's one hundred one things where you can go and poke holes but this is a case of a fan base. That's been energized by colin that that have had. I think a tremendous summer. There's a ton of them. I was a tremendous atmosphere atmosphere the sun seato and they celebrated and i think that's understandable well moving on his own nataly staying in great. We gotta move on matatus. That lake baps the surprising element of the syria opening weekend. He didn't play the evangelista course after all that money spent of course i would've preferred to play. He said i couldn't read this based on the training sessions. In that sense. I didn't see this coming but obviously respects the decision of the coach which was benicio and key alenia not to lakes drag. What what do you make of the head coach. Wasn't there yeah. She's not too well at the moment i yeah. I don't know i mean maybe there's something there that we don't i know about the i don't know the planned sale particularly happy but why do you go and pay a world record fee for defender under nope well. Please explain that to please and i'll tell you what if i was a i was the orders i would be asking the court scene in question. We've just gone and spent crazy money on a defender the you wanted and you don't even know what it's not all of what is all all about gap well pretty simple. First of all the two guys who started instead of batista lakes weren't exactly stan laurel and oliver hardy georgia leaning wash your mouth out when you mention my name. That's a direct quote. I i i. It's very simple. You have a situation where the manager is ill. He has pneumonia. It's the first game of the season. You don't want to screw it up. It's not a coincidence winstons that none of the other newcomers started this season other than wayne but of course he was there before they decided unsurprisingly given its you've it to go and play it safe maximum result minimum effort. They have a big game coming up. It's not wanting surprised if the league doesn't start that game either plea is nineteen years old is nationwide nineteen years old and he's captain hall. He's played alongside bundy is sent to the final champions league and what would you abib shots here. He's he's out good but then she got ready went to milan was hopeless that took him back tees bring in one of the best and you say you can't get result with the side right. What is that saying to the young boy oh. We don't think we can get result. Will you in this site. We're gonna go with chill older guys here to nonsense that as you noted red i find myself this weird position of defending uber here but look. They made it very very clear. They considered elect as a future delivered himself said he's here to learn okay. I'm sorry for is again venlo and as ed sixty seven is kind of different. It's a new experience for him. You it's no he's not.
