"Of difficult. Because you just don't know right you. You can't possibly know these situations without going through them in real life in experiencing them But now we have that experience and You know if we ever choose to do a truck race again. We'll be more ready. No doubt i mean. I think one of the most fun parts though was i mean you had the kind of the captain america truck going on and you take it across the finish line and you've just kinda got the spark shower It was it was like the most bad ass. Ultra marathon thing you could possibly conceive of and you know it was just. I know the entire till the end. I had no idea that we were on fire. I probably should've shut the engine off a little bit earlier but we were completely on fire crossing the line the gearbox exploded on us which is totally fine and yeah it wouldn't have been you know in l. q league grace any other way know exactly i mean what was it mike. Joyce said after the carl edwards. Flip shades of ricky bobby there. Oh yeah ricky bobby indeed. Now you've got a now. We're doing this interview before. You're a season finale. At saint petersburg and i know that you're ramp to get back in the You know in the real car with I know it's been a while since you've done the you know since you've been able to do a street race in indycar and i know that you're pumped for that but So i mean let's just kind of look ahead you know. Obviously you've got this race coming up but then what's in store for you in the offseason. Sort of after that i mean can we. Can we expect more elsie q. League stuff can we expect more streaming from you. I mean you know. I think out of all of the drivers who have really embraced streaming. You know yours is one of the first. If not the first name on the list of all the real nascar indycar pros everybody. Who's been doing this well. You know the off season we'll definitely have more streaming may now that we built this community and We've got a lot of subscribers in people that have been have been tuning in. You gotta keep giving them something to watch. So i mean for me. Nominal announced as well soon like a sponsorship for the stream which will be really cool And you know a great a great partnership to kind of start up during the off season. While i've got some time to game but but realistically for me i mean it's it's it's an all business type of time of year We've got to sort out next year in the real car Obviously want to be full-time in indycar. Again with ed carpenter racing That would be really really really really important. but You know it's it's it's all up to the us air force in what they wanna do and and are The partners that we we pulled together. So it's a bit of a nerve wracking time..

"So yeah we'll we'll get to talk about all that Connors real world stuff kind of the pivot and certainly elsie q. As well all right Back in the. Ira racing downshift in guests that we've been looking forward to having for quite some time Beloved indycar driver slash also professional. Twitch streamers seems like this year conor daly. Glad do i have you on the show absolutely happy to be here. It has been. I would imagine it's been a wild year for everybody. No doubt but i think it's been a pretty crazy year for you in particular you've just been doing just about everything possible in the In the virtual world as much as you've been doing racing in the real world obviously a lot of stuff with us you've been doing some stuff and other You know in other rooms in gaming and trying to manage this Fulltime indycar program. As well i mean what is this year. Just been like for you overall. I mean you've had to think about things very differently. You've had to do a lot of different things race. Weekends have changed entirely You know the way we iraq with our fans has changed entirely because most of our events have been on attended Or at least you know the ones that have had fans you know. They're not allowed into the paddock. So you know we only just get interact with our crew guys So yeah so. It's it's been weird man and and a lot of it though has there's been some great parts to it too. I mean there's you know the year in indycar has gone pretty well For the most part you have accomplished some things that we haven't haven't haven't done before with a poet iowa and qualifying really well this year at most of the tracks and And and then. Obviously you know in truck racing as well with travis pastrana You know that was something. I never thought. I would really get to do and never thought that we have that chance and sure enough in twenty twenty of all years you know..

"Around in a polo and jeans Every weekend But but it was what was necessary and and honestly it was totally worth it. I mean to be back now. Full time I mean I have so many goals that I want to accomplish still I want. I've been dying to get in the car at some of these track that I felt. I was quite strong at twenty sixteen by rookie year And I'm just I'm so pumped it was worth it. It's a very humbling experience. It's not it's not what I want to have to go through it again but You know I appreciate those for sure who you know who helped me out and got me to the race track. Let me stay on their couch in their hotel rooms race weekend at times. I could be there. Well I I want to ask too because I had a guest on the show. What are we talking few months back when his new TV show is debuting? Got To know Derek Theory really really well and I one of the cool things about you is wearing the polo and jeans. You're actually able to be an ambassador for Indycar and and then some of the charities and different organizations you work with you know but I know Derek Thaler. I had him on the show. And he's like this motorsport show is like. Do you know conor Daly. I'm like Yeah Dude. I do ladies I do. That guy is awesome. You know and so I start looking at things I look at things like that and like it did give you some opportunity to meet some people from other walks of life. You know that when you're fulltime just wearing the suit concentrating on racing. You probably didn't get a chance to meet you know. Yeah absolutely and and getting to get into the fastest. Didn't sports you know. I got a couple of people you know doing now which is really cool der Garissa Great Guy Obviously the connection there is you know he's a type one diabetic myself so Now is really cool to talk about that and kind of you know become friends you know through you know through that. Obviously I had him out to Portland last year which lasted about five hundred yards but You know still really cool to have them out there and I'm definitely GonNa add another races here. Hopefully if we can we can have people at the races but But yeah it I got to meet a lot of people thankfully I was able to use me a couple of different ways and I kept telling US literally used. You have access to me every weekend. You can you can. I'll do anything I I'LL I'LL CLEANING FLOORS. I don't care I'll talk. Fan Do whatever you do Anti think again that helps the brand build the brand a little bit and you know it all at all at all positive in the end so going back. I guess we wrapping up the The IRA seen unity car series. We're GONNA shift gears started June. Hopefully hopefully go racing at Texas. But I guess we got a big one left for I racing. I mean I gotta wonder you know. Obviously you know. There's I racing indy. Five hundred how how actual five hundred miles away? What do they call it? Like the seventy laps or something like that. I can't remember but I mean. Is this a big thing to win? It's India right. I mean if you win this is like a big thing I mean I how I mean. I know the guys are having fun with it. You win it's cool but I mean how big would be winning. The I racing indy. Five hundred I don't. I don't really know to be honest. See it as a As something that just you know whoever spent ten thousand hours on this week is probably GonNa Win I. Am I going to do that absolutely not as anyone else doing it? That I know know. Alec hasn't even done a lap yet. He said he doesn't WANNA do a lap Saturday which is definitely not possible. We have practice race later today so I don't know it it. It's GONNA BE INTERESTING. I I don't think he can predict it. I think are people going to be a little bit more focused and dedicated towards it and try to be a little bit more aggressive him. Yes I I mean it's Indian. I think people I it is special no matter what and and I would love to think that would be awesome But you just never know you could so easily get wiped out in the crash. Laugh one You could so easily get disconnected from me. Isn't that something happens though It's GonNa be a fight. It's going to be a battle. They're going to be angry at other people and you know I just hope that we make it through the whole thing and show up at the end with something to and go back talking about India. Let's talk about the real spin around in the late summer Temperature I mean. It's going to be humid as hell in Indianapolis around that time. You're in Indiana boy. You understand that I mean you know what what what are. We looking at difference wise. I mean those couple of months. You're GONNA make a massive difference for the indy. Five hundred. I mean. What are you thinking about this running late summer the way it is? I mean it's got to be different for drivers teams. Everybody I mean. That's just the conditions are going to be completely different. Yeah you're right. I mean I think the month of May Zoe interesting because The weather is actually quite inconsistent. From timeline I remember starting the month of May Twenty Sixteen and it was you know forty eight degrees when we started the you know the the month of the month of May with the Grand Prix of Indie so You know it it it. It can be a two years ago. Was the hottest race on record. So you know. Will it be that hot in August? I don't know I was looking at your data's come. What data on the weather and you know I. It's actually pretty similar to. May I think the only thing is probably consistently more humid So we'll see I mean we don't have any testings so You know we won't get to go there before August but once we. I think the most interesting thing about this new month of May slash month of August. Whatever indy five hundred a month it is The practice will be so so important. It'll be the first time really. We've had more than a day of practice. I think all year long. So it'll be you know there'll be people running as much as physically possible as much as the tires will allow So that could be really exciting from Kamala rich area with no testing in that like you talked about practice. They're going to be crucial. But it's you feeling a little more comfortable having this one known your with these. Er Yeah I mean I definitely feel comfortable but again. Each team has a different You know a different way. They like to set up a car than a different way that they have You know the different setup philosophy so it's GonNa feel different. What what I've driven and even you know even when people said. Oh you're gonNA feel great. Andretti car I absolutely did. It was awesome but the first three days. I mean we were still like eighteen twenty eighteen and it took time to get into where I wanted to be You know set up wise it every driver every driver's different and then sure enough. You know once we figured it all out you know we were on fast Friday and you call five ten or eleven you know really happy with it And and Alex Rock and I had to the fastest Andretti cars and the race so It it it does take time it will take time but I could definitely starting to confident place for sure. Well counter I appreciate you taking the time. Buddy I know your IRA see careers call. You got some got some racing to do later today or at least But always fun catching up. I know I got a couple of more events are going to be running in. May some fun stuff? I'll let a teaser. I think we're GONNA run throw twos at Laguna Seca. So if you want in on that dude I know you and the boys are all comes so I appreciate them and take it easy rather demand thank always fun. Having conor daily on the show got appreciate him in the Hustle and making things happen amidst all the craziness in the world. We're GONNA SHIFT GEARS THOUGH WE'RE GONNA have young gun. Mia Chapman right here on the show or you turn after this break on the general tire down at thirty.

"Know when when this whole pandemic is over. I'll probably play a little bit more duty. Then I will. I racing but I I. I'm not a huge area. Since I think I'm probably still end up doing some mobile rations with some people 'cause Oval stuffers fun But but yeah it's it's it's something you gotta think about building your and yeah the twitch platform that we have is so grace tig fans engaged yet people that support you are able to support you in multiple ways on their classroom so. I think it's I think it's fantastic. Yeah I I want to ask you. Because you're twitch stream has become like its own thing you know what I mean like. It's and you've got. I mean it's what everybody talks about when you guys whether it be you know. We had my offroad event. You guys have the rallycross stuff you got the indycar stuff your stream. I mean and you know you got the usual suspects you and Alex and Trav- and chatree POPs on their hinch does with some of the events things like that you know. It's like what? How did this whole thing organized? Because now it's become like the place to go and when something's on everybody wants to tune into your twitch twitch street just so they can hear the chaos yeah certainly it's been surprising how much taken off. I guess I think what ended up happening. Is You know. Obviously the INDYCAR GUYS. We sort of all my close friend released. I already knew how to operate the Internet rates out there. I already knew like I knew. It gives scored was new where we can get together and chat And then you know at least hang out while we're doing this. Ira thing. And then. I told her own well by the way. I'm streaming this as well and they're like yeah sure whatever and then you know just kind of it kind of went from there so I think it's. It's a place where we can all be really honest and laugh about overdoing it at the same time is trying to compete And then you know then all of a sudden an hour we got and there. We've got Chad Reed. Eighty Chad is a good friend of mine. We raised against each other last year in Lamborghini Japan series which was really cool. And I mean fan tab for a long time like the guys you know I was always number twenty two when I was growing up. That's mainly because my dad was twenty two at one point and Formula One but Chad's obviously the number twenty two for a long time and he's he's been a legend so it's really cool to be a part of Of that little group of people and it's been hilarious so coming out of this quarantine to be friends with Travis Pastrana and read and I think we can hang up as a life goal achieved one you you get to hang out with. You got shot. It was a red video right at Indianapolis Motor speedway this winter. And you're the you're one of the golfers in the video right so I know you you try to travel hung out before right and it would during that rebel. Shoot in the middle of like a frigid ass Indianapolis Winter. No I. They did not know I was a driver or anything. Didn't see trump wants. I was purely used as an extra known on the didn't even see Rossi that day. I was literally just. It was so cold that no one was really hanging out at the golf. That's funny so the truth comes out on video because I figured that'd be a fun group to hang out with right now and everybody that I've talked to. I think Liza such that was like literally. One of the coldest days out there filming. She's like no. I don't want to do it again. Well scalable honestly great product great product but Gal with a rough rockaway. Let's talk a little bit about twenty twenty man because we'll come back the IRA stuff in a minute. But I know this was. We hadn't caught up but I know this was actually. This was a really. I guess until the rug pulled out from all of us and it will still be an epic year for you but you know you're one of the guys I know you've obviously last year. You found some numerous homes had a great run in Indianapolis finished tenth. There you know coming into the season though I mean you picked up that ride with with which was for all the all the road and street courses plus indy which had to have you stoked man because Indy. I mean. That's you know that's a car that can put you on the poll you know. And then you also know broaden Carlin for the remaining oversee you somehow spliced together a fulltime ride in indycar. I mean it wasn't in the normal traditional sense you had to be pumped to be back fulltime in the INDYCAR series this year. Yes I mean. We've been working on it for years. you know. It's it's been you know since two thousand seventeen we've been full-time so it's really cool to to get back at it. It's been a long road. It's been tough narrowly. Sure how it's you know. I I didn't really know how it's GonNa go times But the only reason I'm here air force I mean. They're they're the only legitimate reason why I'm you know why in any car driver which is which is really thankful for. I think credible sponsor an incredible partner to be able to represent core And and Yeah I mean. It is going to be exciting. Do we get less races. Yes which is very similar to how you know. I assumed would you know I never would. I assume that there would be a panic when I get reemployed for full-time seeing but I figured something of this nature would happen. I do tend to have pets. That's fine So I start all those things and the fact that it's probably my fault But out and it's GonNa be fun to teams Carlin's awesome. I'm actually starting the season with Carlin. Oddly enough now because Texas is first race. So that'll be the first time ever in my career. I will have been with the same team but the same track two years in a row. So it's It's GonNa be exciting to do that. And then When we get their DAD governor racing team. I can't wait to work with those guys. Been so funny to know everyone and get to know a lot. Better They run such a great organization on sound so pumped to get back to real life. Well how does the schedule? I mean. Obviously you guys? All you guys are professionals. You can adapt and overcome. But how does this new schedule kind of throw a wrench in your plans? I mean you guys. Had everything planned out. Obviously I know it probably the teams I mean. It's got them working double time trying to figure out logistics and everything else so this new new schedule you use a driver. I mean you kind of had an idea of the way the the flow of the season was going. GonNa go things like that tracks travel you know and the mix of ovals and road courses and things like that you know and now all of a sudden like you said you were starting out in Texas. I think we got what a of dates in Indianapolis I mean. How has this changed the way you're approaching things just because it's completely different man? I mean not the May I mean we're playing we're playing. Ira singing in the month of. May something's weird you know and you know up before we let Connor answer that question. I guess I don't know the shutdown that we're in but he's also got an insane twitch following his discord has become almost viral every single time he fires it up he's got chatree. Travis Pastrana Alex Rossi hinch unusual suspects on there and it is downright hilarious. He's found a way to thrive as everybody else's shutdowns. We're GONNA have conor Daly one talking about any INDYCAR season and it's getting ready to get underway. "We're talking about you know your twenty twenty that you've got lined up and this fulltime riot and how important was twenty nineteen in that you a lot of drivers. Things don't work their way. They kind of just fe fade away. And just wait for that phone call and they start sending emails. They're not really. You know. I GUESS. You know in in. Pick BILL'S PICTURE. But you on the other hand you went. You know you picked up some rides here and there. Obviously you had a great run at indy. You did some stuff with midgets the Chili Bowl. Obviously you were talking about the Lamborghini series. You know. I know you were driving. What the the two seater. When you got a chance I mean how was that like staying in front of people you know how. How important was everything? We're doing and staying in the public eye. Did that help bring this ride in two thousand twenty together into really humbling experience. I mean you go from two years in a row of being. You know being the guy at the team. You're working working towards winning races. We were on the Party. My rookie year called so good twenty seventeen. I thought it was a building year into You know it's you're a three year deal with. This team really really enjoyed working with the guys that foyt And they they needed a financial solution that I didn't have And I end up literally a fish out of water So I it's tough. It's awkward it's annoying You know I you know showing up driving to Cedar or just walking around seeing all my friends doing what I love to do. And I can't do it Really tough so I see how it would be hard for others potentially go through that or even you know as an ego thing like kind of having your ego crushed and kind of going back walking around in a in a polo jeans every weekend But but it was what was necessary and honestly it was totally worth it. I mean to be back now. Full time I mean. I have so many goals that I want to accomplish still I want. I've been dying to get in the car at some of these track that I felt. Garrett's the Great Guy Obviously the connection there is you know he's a type one diabetic myself Now is really cool to talk about that and kind of you know become friends you know through you know through that and obviously I had him out to Portland last year which lasted about five hundred yards but but it was still really cool to have out there and I'm definitely GonNa add another race this year. Alex hasn't even done a laugh yet. He doesn't want to do a laugh until Saturday. Which is definitely not optimal because we have a practice race later today so I don't know it. It's GONNA be interesting. I I don't think you can predict it. I think are people going to be a little bit more. You know focused and dedicated towards and try to be a little bit more aggressive. Yes Sir it's and people. It is special no matter what and I would love to win. I think that'd be awesome But you just never know. "My good friend Conor. Daly got got my buddy conner daily on the line. I guess got to be a full time indycar driver this year but right now you're fulltime. Ira Sir my friend. How's everything going? Yeah it's an interesting title to Have never really expected that Yeah here we are. I mean. It's obviously a weird time can be alive right now. but We gotta do the best of what we got right now which is currently Video Games and steering wheels in our guest bedrooms in my case. It's pretty wild. I got a radio studio in my guest bedrooms. So there you go you know what I mean. It's we do what we gotta do to stay relevant right Yeah exactly I mean it is what it. W- you know I I. I've always been into video games. Love Video Games. I've always been called nerd but my friends but now a lot of the other drivers are putting in more hours than I do. So is this you know it's it's hilarious tables of turn. Everyone is now nerd and You know we're all competing like it's a real race every weekend because you know we're competitive here. Well you know it's funny. I had this conversation with somebody yesterday and I said you know out of everybody in motor sport. And we don't WanNa get into the guys who have definitely hurt their stock by the whole I racing thing but out of everybody in Motorsport. I said you know caught her. I said I said I appreciate him. Because I said you go into the indycar season and then you look a month and a half later. And I said Qatar's the one guy who's actually improved his stock because not only do we know you're bad ass indycar driver but now you've got this social following in the IRA and community and gaming. And everything else. Like I I don't know if there's a way to be successful in the middle of a pandemic somehow you figured out a way to stay relevant. Actually Improve Your stockman. I appreciate it man. I mean it. It's all about building brand. I mean every day even even when the world was you know was running as normal. You got to build your brand every day whether it's on me or whatever and I mean I've been on the twitch twitch stuff for a while but You know I never really played racing games. So it's not really been super appealing. I guess my core fan base But now enforced new so You know it's it's it's something my family's Roy I think you know I'm I'm still going to be streaming as much lower normally stream. You know when when this whole pandemic is over. I'll probably play a little bit more duty than I. Racing but I I'm not a huge fan of the area since then but I think probably still end up doing some mobile rations with some people because oval stuff fun but but yeah it's it's it's it's something you gotTa Think About Building Your brand twitch platform that we have is so great big fans engaged if people that support you are able to support you. You know multiple way on their platform. So I think it's I think that. Yeah well I ask her. Twit stream has become like its own thing. You know what I mean like. It's and you've got. I mean everybody talks about when you guys whether it be you know we had my offer event you guys have the rallycross stuff you got the indycar stuff but your stream. I mean and you got the usual suspects you and Alex and and travel and I chatter e POPs on their hinch does with some of the events things like that you know. It's like what I did this whole thing. You'd organized because now it's become like the place to go and when something's on everybody wants to tune into your twitch twitch feed just so they can hear the chaos yeah certainly. It's been surprising how much it's taken off by I think what ended up happening. Is You know. Obviously the INDYCAR guys we sort of all in my close friend released like I already knew that operate marriage. There already knew like I knew it. This scored the newer. We can get together and chat And then you know at least a hang out while we're doing this. Ira thing and then. I told everyone well. You know by the way treatment as well and they're like yeah whatever and then you know just kind of it kind went from there so I think it's you know it's a place where we can just be really honest and laugh at the same time is trying to compete And then all of a sudden our you know we got Travis Pastrana in there. We've got Chad read. Chad is a good friend of mine. We raised against the last year and the Lamborghini super series which was really cool. And I mean I've been Fan Chad for a long time. You guys. I was always number twenty two when I was growing up. That's mainly because my dad was twenty two at one point in Formula One but Chad's obviously rep the number twenty two for a long time. And he's he's been a legend. It's really cool to be a part of Of that little group of people and and it's been hilarious so coming out of this quarantine to be friends with Travis Pastrana inside read and and I think that's We can hang that up as life goal achieved you get to hang out with the trash. You got shot. It was a red bull video right at Indianapolis Motor speedway this winter. You're the you're one of the golfers in the video right so I know you can try. It traveled Hung out before and during that Red Bull. Shoot in the middle of like a frigid ass Indianapolis Winter. I know I. They did not know I was a driver or anything didn't travel once. I was purely used as an extra on the didn't even see Rossi that day literally. It was so cold that no one was really hanging out at the golf. That's the truth comes out of that video because I figured I was like. Oh that'd be a fun group to hang out with right now. Everybody that I've talked to. I think Liza said that was like literally one of the coldest days ever to be out there filming. She's like no. Don't WanNa do it again. Well terrible honestly. Great product gray finished product but Gal. It was a rough day. Well let's talk a little bit about twenty twenty Max we'll come back to the IRA stuff in a minute. But I know this was we had caught up but I know this was actually really until the rug got pulled out from all of us and eight will still be an epic year for you. You're one of the guys I know you've obviously last year. You found some numerous homes had a great run in Indianapolis finished tenth. There you know coming into the season though I mean you know you picked up that ride with with ECR which was for all the all the road and street courses plus Andy which have you stoked man because ECR indy. I mean that's you know that's a car that can put it on the poll. You know and then you also brought Carlin for the remaining oversee. You somehow splice together a fulltime ride in indycar. I mean it wasn't in the normal traditional sense but you gotta to be pumped to be back fulltime in the INDYCAR series this year. Yeah I mean. We've been working on it for for years. I it's been in twenty seventeen. We've been full-time so it's really cool to to get back to that. It's it's been a long road it's been popped not really sure how it's you know. I didn't really know how it was. GonNa go times But the only reason I'm here airports I mean they're they're the only legitimate reason why I'm still in any driver which is You know which is which I'm really thankful for An incredible sponsor credible partner able to represent four And and yeah I mean it is going to be exciting. Do we get less races. Ask which is very similar to how you know. I assumed would you know I never would. I assume that there would be a pandemic when I re employed for full-time season but I sing. Something of this nature would happen. I do tend to have a monkey pets fine. I'm so sorry start. All those who've had their season dependent. It's probably my fault but it's GonNa be fun to great teams Carlos Awesome. I'm actually starting the season with Carlin. I up now because Texas is our first rate so that'll be the first time ever in my indycar career. I will have been with the same team but at the same track two years in a row so and so. It's GonNa be exciting to do that. And then When we get an carpenter racing team I can't wait a for those guys. It's been so fun to get to know everyone and I get to know better. They run such a great organization and I'm just I'm so pumped to get back. You know to real life. Well how does the schedule I mean? Obviously you guys. All you guys are professionals. You can adapt and overcome. But how does this new scheduled kind of throw a wrench in your plans? I mean you guys had everything planned out and obviously I know it. Probably the teams. I mean it's got them working double time trying to figure out logistics and everything else so this new new schedule you know. Use a driver. I mean you kind of had an idea of the way the the flow of the season was going to go things like that with tracks travel you know and the mix of ovals and road courses and things like that you know now all of a sudden we're starting out in Texas. I think we got. What a trio of dates in Indianapolis I mean. How is this changed the way you're approaching things just because it's completely different man? I mean month. May I mean we're playing we're playing? Ira Sing in the month of May. Something's weird you know. Yeah it's it's honestly like it does make me sad thing about You know I I have never in my life ever since I existed and the human. And they're not been an indy. Five hundred in the month of May is a every every year my life better track every year my life. I've you know I've been excited for the race of the fan and then a driver So it is. It is going to be mentally quite difficult. I think we go through the next couple of weeks But you know we. We do have something to afford. I mean we have we have sexist Jim. We have scheduled a fifteen races You know and and hopefully more maybe have more I mean I think it's a dynamic situation that is gonNA always change. Everyone's going to have to adapt. I think the toughest thing for me being with a new team with cardinals the fact that now testing is not allowed anymore. So you know. We were going to do a lot of questions throughout the year because the team the team doesn't cut corners at all. And we have you know. We had plenty of tax days lined up as much as we can do And now all that's gone and it's it's GonNa be very sure race weekends. It looks like potentially You know until we get things a little bit more back to normal so it's GonNa be really tough on drivers. Really tough on rookies It's going to be really tough. I think everyone's GonNa try and you know go. Bigger go home. Type of approach could be a lot of mistakes So you just gotTa hope you make it in the first. Few races is a bit of a information collecting journey and try to try to stay. Stay good point strategy. Stay up towards the Front And then really hit your stride mid season when one hundred is happening in August. So we'll see what happens. How how important was it?.

"Tommy Kendall that somehow voting away take for that to be or not Peter. Brock is one of the other judges so when it comes to like designer aerodynamics you just I just stood during those guys the tk like design works wings functional. Tommy like history like let's drink cars in in a weird way. I not even in a way more complicated then a modern car just like I think if you look at a you know a MiG twenty two from the Soviet Union from nineteen sixty nine and it would be more complicated than a new jet would be because computers have taken over. I mean when you get up on those cars when you put your head in one of those guys you're like like Oh my God because everything's big box and wires everywhere. I mean. It's insane that they got those things to run for endurance races for long distances. They were and they were going so fast they were just. It was unbelievable the speed. They don't even knew that speed today. I mean barely the Porsche. Nine thousand nine hundred and stuff. I mean incredible bringing up the speed read on the indy cars for today. What what engines are they running and how much horsepower they making? Is there a change in aero for this coming season there are bunch of Perez Hilton Hilton. Diaries Diaries Recount Sexual dalliances celebrity celebrity encounters. That's the kind of stuff you're right down putting your storage facility all right. Yeah you got it all for two thousand seven hundred. Seventy five dollars believed that he'd be able to sell them for about five million and then after further of you believe I believe that the bidding concern at twenty million but he offered Paris a discount. She's welcome to bid. Yeah all right. Sorry speeds needs a entering. Turn what Indianapolis I mean. You'll you'll hit Kinda to forty. I'd say the average speed in qualifying two thirty one. Wow Oh wow best be I mean. It's a twitter. V6 It's it's been the same kind of engine that they've had for. I don't know six. WHO's making the engine on Chevrolet on uninsured and to this year? Twenty teams the first year. Actually in in quite a while where we're going back to a SPEC aero kit so for the past four years Honda and Chevy have each each had their own. Aerodynamic Package But now it's all being made by the Laura. which is the car manufacturer so everyone's going to be driving? The same chassis say marrow correct satire one of the two engine correct. Yeah there was issues with Honda engines last year so last year. We we Well from Augustine in sixteen we had a pretty big power deficit And so they they worked relentlessly and coming out of the box and seventeen week. We had some some pretty big upgrade as some serious power. Why is it that you have you know? Everyone's always sort of looking for parody. Been Racing interacted. Someone's went into much. They'll add some weight to the car. Say You gotta turn on the boost or whatever it is. You got the same chassis at the same aero package a same everything. Why not want engine? And then it's complete nutter. Parody it seems weird just to have. The two manufacturers are alternate each year because you know indycar still wants to be on the cutting edge of development and that's how they stay relevant Formula One is truly manufacturers championship but indy-car wants to have some of that as well and we see it with NASCAR right. You had different manufacturers Nascar but it's the same car and so. This is a way for manufacturers to showcase their equipment and there are Indian in what they can produce in terms of an engine while still having equality among team so good. Yeah you're as long as there if there's one player then and we ended up like the Soviet Union. We gotta have exact Chevy an Honda and they have to constantly be nipping at each other's heels. Try to improve and bring out that much more horse power and reliability trying to get a third manufacturer too because I mean then it just then that could even provide more cars to the series because right now since having only only two manufacturers there's only a certain amount of engine leases that are available because you know you can only produce so many engines you know especially if you're constantly upgrading them so you know if there's a third manufacturer then you could possibly even add more teams cars because they want to get behind certain people the little the rules is it. A displacement is one of the rules. Oh yeah the other one. Is it like an intake inlet ever everything is SPEC right. Terms of the regulations what is open amongst manufacturers is more in the software. I mean there is some hardware stuff you can do. But it's limited. You're not changing not a lot of our size. Improve era approved as well like if if the engines are going to be upgraded. All right well. Hey this is the only area that you upgrade and so they just try and push in seventeen. Honda found a lot of advantages in like kind of spark advance and alternate It's not like they were completely redoing the head or the bottom end right the Two hundred and forty miles an hour absolutely breathtaking on a on a closed circuit. That way. What you should try? I don't think the mom now that they put the chicane in the Molson Straight I. I don't think think they're getting past two twenty two fifteen or something. I I'd like I'd be Kinda curious. What's the top speed at Lom? As of last last year. But it's like two forty eight to forty eight with the witness chicane. Yeah I don't think so because I thought they put that you cain in there to bring it down I mean they do have like a thousand horsepower so that that is a lot but I s and I'm not sure I hear I'm going John Lower than to forty eight until twenty five to twenty five well beyond man one in Mexico City is getting into to like mid thirties really two to three I'M GONNA go uh-huh to winning now. Thirty seven to fifty three to not slow down there really that much data really fast. They did that in the ninety. I guess they can do now. Oh my God right I think Sam Posey told me that. His Ferrari five twelve in like nineteen in seventy two was doing like to forty eight. Santi cars were like fourteen hundred horsepower. I power with like no breaks ply tires fourteen hundred horsepower. Skateboard man. Yeah look at you look at the brakes. You just look the discs. They're not even invented. There may be crossed drill. But there's just one thing half inch piece of steel like it's not even your. You're so much single piston caliber in front. Just nothing in the break department and where we talking to Parnelli Jones about the turbine turbine car. Yeah the TERP we're talking about the turbine car. Yeah you say a whole nother issue. Because he was here with his son. PJ wait we. Either we the talk of Parnelli and or Parnelli Jones. Granted tally time. But I think I think Parnelli was talking about driving it and and breaking everything was completely different like he would go fast because he wasn't allowed US breaks. 'cause that thing wouldn't shut. Aw and we just we just go you know. While they're God bless those guys working it out All right. Let's see. What else do we got a question from the audience over there anybody would like to right into question Adamant Matt Goatee few car? CASHEW DOT COM. Click the contact page and let us know what you what you want to know. So this is Kyle. He writes from Nebraska's twenty six. Hey guys regarding the new in portion nine thirty five I was wondering if you had or ever will consider converting delivery back to the white and Rainbow Apple Computer sponsored configuration. I just thought it was the only race car sponsored by apple computers and since they're slightly more prominent than Hawaiian tropic these days it could potentially have implications on the evaluation evaluation of the car. Do you agree with this. Is reverting liver even something people do. Let me know your thoughts Kyle. But this is a good question because we've had a million conversations about her and talk more about this than I've talked about my kids to my wife because I prioritize. Yeah yeah the kids will land but what about the car. You're going to look out for the future that caught off the kids. You're going to get back on. Take one day so figure out. Isn't that Apple. "This is the final land weekly on the final with us for the very first time. It's not her to have you on Conor Daly. Welcome to the program. Thank you so much. All right. So I saw you in the Las Vegas media center way back in the spring, and I thought to myself an IndyCar driver here for a NASCAR weekend. And now I know why you're making your NASCAR debut at road America. This weekend. You've gotta be excited. Yeah, man. I mean, I'm drilled it interesting that you say that we I had ventured out the Vegas, check out the hour thing was go on there. Things are looking what is all about. Is there any opportunities here what's going on and and sure enough, really that actually one sort of the conversations really started happening about, you know, would I raise the NASCAR that that that I would do? And you know, talking to a lot of the people at lily and they asked that question, is it? Absolutely. I'll drive anything. So it was kind of cool that it ended up. Working out in the end. I know we announced the deal along time ago back in may and it's been it's been a long, long time coming, I think, but I can't wait to finally get going now. Absolutely. That's gotta be rough on you as a racer. You just want to get inside the car. Okay. So like your rash teammate, Ryan Reed, who is on the program last week, your eraser with type one diabetes. So what do you do differently on a race weekend that might be different even from NASCAR? In terms of IndyCar, do you have a bullseye on your fire suit? I don't yet, but I will with my my new Lilly diabetes fire suit. But yeah, it it. I mean it same as same as Ryan essentially. I mean, it's all preparation. I mean, I've been racing now for for twelve years, you know, with diabetes and and I've, I've been through a lot of learning experiences. I learn more every day about it, but preparation is key. I mean, it'd be able to have a constant glucose monitoring system in the car is it's the same IndyCar. We'll have the same system in any car that I have in the NASCAR. And it's it's it's pretty much the same system that Ryan uses as well. So we'll at least have a sort of similar the same thing and, and you know, his team has already familiar with how that works, and thankfully we can be teammates. So everyone will know the situation. And you know, I'm excited just sorta take the plunge into the NASCAR world and experience something different. I mean, you know, it might it might affect the way that I have to control my blood sugar, but you know, we'll sort of will sort of see how it goes through practice, and then you know us all the information that I get and be prepared for the race. How're fans with you? Do they approach you that you know fans with diabetes? Do they see you as a positive role model doing something that they would like to do? I've only ever heard really incredible things from from people that we meet. You know, weekend weekend week out. I mean, there's a lot of people who just sort of can't really understand that were out here, you know, racing, you know. And living with diabetes at the same time, and it's really cool deal. The sheriff story with, you know, with people of all ages and and and kind of if we could be an inspiration, then that's awesome. We're doing our job. You know what I mean? It hasn't stopped either of us, asthma stopped me from, you know, competing in, you know five was five hundred now and now driving almost every type of racing car on the planet after I complete this NASCAR race, so it's, it's it's, you know, it's been a wild ride life, but now we're here and and it's it's, it's cool to be able to share our stories at this level. You mentioned wheeling. A big heavy NASCAR stock car. Hi. How have you been planning for that? How do you prepare for that over these last few months? Because it's got to be quite different from an IndyCar. Yeah, it's pretty much the exact opposite, but Indy-Car. But in the end it's still a race car..
