"And we were down 6 nothing, I think, I think with like 16 minutes to go in the second period. And at one point, he had a breakaway and Jason strudwick chased him. And I think I've told this before and study is grinding, just chasing after Gabriel. And he just goes down and buries the horn, the song and starting after the game goes, we could have skated to China. And I wouldn't have fucking caught him. We could have skate, that could have been a never ending arena and I never would have even gotten close. So I wish I could get the clip of that. If you could pull up a breakaway goal against the oilers and 11 on an afternoon game. He was the man. So he went to LA and who knows if they win that he was sick and playing fucking goals in a place obscene. I mean, obviously quick he was unreal and deserve the kind of 14 talks that year. They won games two to one. So that was probably 30% of the team's goals that run. Yeah. Yeah, he was unreal. So congrats to Marian gabrich on his retirement. I'd love to. I'd love to get him on here. I'd love to have you on the show some day, man. He had the sickest whips going into LA training camp. I think really? Oh yeah, just one of those guys that had every top of the line Ferrari. Aaron. What were his career earnings? What's your guess? I would say that he's got to be 90 million. 90 million. Look it up. I'm looking to look it up. I'm going to move along. We got a couple more notes like I said before we get old time Matt Molson. Carrie price rejoined the Canadians on Monday after entering the NHL's player assistance program. 96 million. I'm pretty good at that game. You are pretty good because you're a money guy. So welcome back to the league to carry price. Hopefully he's doing good. Jake Allen, this is an interesting note biz. The first Montreal goalie not named Carrie price to record a shout out versus the red wing since Jose Theodore on January 11th, 2000 appel. So it was a long time. It is a long time. They have that. That gap, a couple more here. William Carlson of four to 6 would have broken foot for Vegas. Columbus's Patrick lined out four to 6 with an oblique strain. The thumb wash the video game. Anthony mantha had should I always have struggled this one. Shoulder surgery after Thursday's game versus Florida out indefinitely and Arizona defenseman Connor Timmons expected to miss the rest of the season with a D injury. Yeah, I think the hit was in Florida. And then somebody came in and they had to fight, but that sucks man. That was a big piece for the coyotes coming over in that Darcy temperature. We found that we're hoping turns into a top four top four guy. We need some of those types of players. Hate to see boys get hurt, but we like to make people aware in case they hadn't heard. So like we said, we got Matt Molson coming up at first. We want to let you know that this interview is brought to you by our friends at shady rays. Just because the cold weather is coming doesn't mean you put the shades away, especially when they are shady race. They look great and they work better, but the best thing might be the warranty. Replacements if shades are lost or broken for any reason. That means if you're dropping the ocean, you leave them on the golf course, anything shady rays will replace them. You try that way, you high priced shades. Yeah, good luck with that. So even with that strong of a warranty, they still managed to make unreal quality shades that just seemed to be as good as any expensive that I've ever won. The polarized lenses that look perfectly clear and they thought it just $48. Shady rays also provides ten males to fight hunger in America with every order placed, and they have donated donated over 20 million meals to date. They stand behind their product and they told that team, if anyone has a problem, they throw profit out the window and do what it takes to get it right. And again, that warranty, I mean, you lose them, you get new ones. You can not beat that. Also you get free returns and exchanges so you either love the shades or shady rays will pay to ship them back. That's it. It's simple. I've been wearing it for ages. I love them. They look great. You should get some too. You do that by using the code chiclets for 50% off two or more peers at shady raised dot com. So basically, you buy one, you get one free.

"Aw to feel like an kevin fiala another huge part of it to feel like it's as their team now and all of that is good and done but you need coca presumptively a part of it because like we said of all these fires i just mentioned he is the most important one you know what they've maybe by our next episode on thursday i'll know more about the research situation from my source. The right now deal in place. So at least there is from wild fans glimmers of hope. Don't give up. Stay positive as i like to say. Emily no use as a positive. And i like to think that we're both optimistic people. We do cynical though. And i think that's why people like us. We have a careful eye on bangs. Yes breaking news. My babs back from a walk we are. I'm praying right now. That does sound effects. I alluded to earlier regarding frankenstein. Monsters on the roof with heavy boots and all of that will stop But right now it's good. You know what. I was looking at it which i founded speaking of rosters and different things. I think i'm going to name a player. I'm gonna play the guessing game with you. I'm going to name a veteran player. And i'm gonna tell you why. This player is a jinx. You have that look on your face for now which people can see and you look a little puzzled and so i like to have that lok seat that look on your face because it when i can make you puzzle because you seem to know everything i throw at you emily. There is a player in the last two postseasons. I that were that was in the stanley cup. Final but ended up being on the losing side. And now this new upcoming season. He is on undo team. And if i was a betting person. I think i'd have to bet against this team. Because this player is now part of it th bat roster doesn't make any sense to you. Is it corey perry. It is corey perry because let us go back in time when he was with the dallas stars although played great unbelievable and i'm a corey perry fan even on the goalie and he's a pain in my front of the net. He was great with dallas stars. We all remember their postseason. How great they were. And how close it came to beating. Tampa did not happen. Perry had a great great postseason. Move on to the montreal canadians. We all know what happened there. The canadians face the tampa bay lightning corey perry again in the middle of it. All and by the way he was the victim of the most blatant non coal in the history of non calls in the post season so he created chaos. But what happened emily. The canadians lost again in the stanley cup. Final and now corey. Perry is a member of the tampa bay. Lightning will he be the reason if they do not repeat. Will we blame corey perry. Oh i think we'll blame them. Losing their entire third line. that's fantastic but had liked. I think that's what all the goal is. The league wanna hear. Yes just just a random observation. That i that i just made. No i love it. And look i think the tampa bay lightning or one of the most fascinating teams. They are the team that are going to be on our network the first game. When we're back you're gonna see your girl and lee caplin Is i'm so excited for that. Game huge but hakkinen julian briefs wa especially. I had a really good conversation with pam right before free agency. He's the gm of that team. And i don't know of any. Gm had a more difficult offseason just in the decisions they had to make because this is someone who built his team exactly the right way. He did it through the draft. He made some sure moves. He emotional connections to so many of these players. Not only did they win. The stanley cup rings but he won with ebony aid shell as well minor league hockey and he basically had to say salary cap. I finally have to say my goodbyes and he did. And there's a lot of players that had to leave. I think he did a really good job in bringing in some interesting pieces like corey perry. It also helps though that when you're the tampa bay lightning and you play into team estate with no taxes. Guys wanna play there when you create the culture that you did guys wanna take less for the opportunity to win. And so you see players like zach bogosian Corey terry. Who's the there's one other. That's on the tip of my talk. Well they got a great backup. Brian elliott now for andrei vasilevskiy. They've picked up. Brian elliott. I one. I was thinking of all of these guys that are additive veteran. Put them in. Maybe you don't rely on them that much in the regular season but once it comes to the postseason they've got experienced Maybe they'll make stanley cup final again. And you're right. Maybe they lose because the court perry remember. I said that. And when you think about the tampa bay lightning obviously automatic favorite right to three peat but there are a couple other teams that we can't ignore that are always in the conversation and of course one of them is the colorado avalanche new disappointment again last year. Another early exit. Many people thought they had it all written. The script was written. The avs were going to win the cup. Last year nathan mackinnon was going to win. Every possible ward known to mankind if not it would have been mika raton and if not been solo grew bauer. Now gruber hours not there. He's a seattle crack in there. Are others coming and going. I cannot wait to share that nathan mackinnon view with that we had with him and he was very honest about his emotions which we weren't used to seeing but we saw them all and i post game interview after the avalanche lost. I love that so much that probably besides the nikitas couture love gucci like celebration and You know new beer commercial sponsorships. I mean i love how real nathan mackinnon was After the just disappointing early exit for the avalanche. So obviously colorado is right back as a top favorite to win the stanley cup. They are but the movement the summer. I mean they got rid of rube our because look they're focused on getting gabriel scott back and i'm glad they did it you yes out that. He's a very important player. He does a lot of things that don't appear on the box score. He's he's a great player for that team But it did cost of grube our and then they take the chance on darcy. Kemper being guy Because they had to who are who went to the seattle crack in ryan. Murray is a player. They brought in that. I think was brian art to bet on He didn't have the best season last year. But if he can get back on track and the right structure and then he can help them out. Did lose a lot as well. You know donskoy. Saad ryan grades. Connor timmons like specially donskoy inside a lot of scoring. That they're saying goodbye to and you know when i look back to them in that series that they lost against the vegas. Golden is firstly unfair. Draw right we. We should have been having not in the stanley cup. Final or at least the western conference final. We shouldn't have had early in the second round secondly about like their center depth with an issue. They just couldn't you know with the vegas golden knights also with physicality i felt like they weren't tough enough now. Those things i just mentioned is one player that both those things. It's nazem kadri. He was during that series. If he can stay literally in the lineup. Just don't get suspended. Nauseam qadri maybe. It's a different story But i'm curious. Those dole things are going to haunt them or we're gonna see You know their gm. Who joe zack has been one of the best jobs in the league. Last couple of years go big game hunting season. Get some help at the trade deadline. Improbably veteran help. And you know the journey that the tampa bay lightning took right. And we'll get into it with a captain steven stamkos in just a few moments right here on this episode of the pries..

"Last year or around the deadline. There were people who said that. The coyotes were not decisive. They say that you would make deals with them. And you couldn't get them closed and let's just say for a second that's true. Will i give the coyotes credit for saying we can't be like that anymore and they were decisive and they made deals on their terms. The tough thing. I think for some of their fans there is. You know they've been told rebuild rebuild rebuild before but i think this is the right time like i think under john chaika. They made decision to go for it and they tried okay and regardless of what that organization says about chaika now and i know it ended very poorly. He had the full support of the organization to do it. Well it didn't work. And now you're losing taylor hall and ackman larson feels he needs to change and your rosters aging a bit particularly on defense it calls for something new and they did it and they did it decisively and they didn't have a first round pick and they made that deal with vancouver to get themselves a first round. Pick those the decisions you have to make. And i think arizona did what it needed to do and i think the guy. I'm watching between now and the start of next season is christian devora. I just can't believe that teams won't be trying to get him out of there. Not focused solar clayton. Keller i think kessel for sure i don't know as much about keller i haven't heard his name much but i've heard voracek time and he's a senator. He's a physical banging center. Who can get points and those guys are hard to find. I think there's a lot of teams out there that really like him. And let me. Throw at calgary. Yeah i mean it makes sense right but minnesota san jose rangers montreal. There's been a few chicago Marc andre fleury taylor johnson. Seth jones where the hawks sat fridge. Neil the number one thing. Obviously we learned this weekend. The latest bit of news is that they convinced florida come play. And that's you know it's obviously big for them. A a flurry langton combination is a pretty good combination. I'm a little surprised dylan. Strom is still there. I thought he might get moved. We'll see where that goes or if there's still a role for him there but i think chicago was gonna look at this as it's a new day we're coming back and we're going for it. I mean obviously you know jeff. There's still a major issue there the investigation into what happened in two thousand ten and i don't know if anybody knows a if that report is going to be public or be what changes could happen depending on what the investigation determines and i still think that is obviously something. That's still very much effect the organization but on the ice. They've clearly said we're going for things for the credibility of the organization. Do they not have to release that elliott. If they keep that one secret lookout. I know how people will react in. I think they should make it public. I will say this again. I've written it before. And i think i've said on the podcast before i've had a couple lawyers. Tell me that if they really want a lot of people to tell the truth there are some people who say brench sobils made it very clear that he's not afraid of telling the truth and he's going to say it but lawyers will tell you there will be a lot of other people who will feel more comfortable about being honest if the report is private and that is something that companies doing these kinds of investigations. They wrestle with the dallas mavericks made. There's public the washington. Football team did not. Sometimes i do think that organization say. I'd rather not have this public for obvious reasons. But again i've had lawyers for people who have testified in these kinds of things or been deposition in these kinds of things who tell their clients that if it's going public you should be very careful of what you say unless you're comfortable with it and they've seen of people who weren't as forthcoming as they would be if they would have known. It was private. So i would say from a legal point of view. That's a reason why doesn't get made public sometimes. We'll see colorado avalanche so they lose philip group our He goes to seattle. They signed darcy camper. It cost him first round draft pick and connor timmons real good young defenseman. Whenever i mentioned conor timmins you know because i love this kind of goofy stuff. Connor timmons has one blue eye and one brown eye. Oh my god and everybody from the same samory greyhounds of saying. Yeah i know that they re signed. Gabriel landis skog they bring in darren helm Curtis mcdermott comes in for a little bit of muscle on the blue line. Your thoughts on what colorado has done and they still. I don't know if upper limits going to be a magnet for them but they still do have some cap space to they've always said like we're gonna protect for the future right. The did kind of what we expected they would do. They got my car done and they worked backwards. And you know there was some people were like. People are like what calma cars making. Less than. zack. Were ski and dougie hamilton and jones. The only about one year of ufa for warren ski. It's four years for these other guys obviously jones and hamilton. It's their whole contracts. So it's not exactly apples to apples. It's a precedent setting contract. And nobody's gonna complain about it. You know they wanted him around rant ins number. That was the best way to do it and get it done landed. Scott that was a real battle. They grinded the grinded. They grinded and they got their. I believe they were always going to take one more run atlanta's gog and the did and i think i wanted to be an avalanche and he wanted to win. And you know. I do think and this is one another agent. Who wasn't landis cox told me. He had a player who was dependent on land gog. He knew that his guy was a good player but he wasn't going to be taken by anybody ahead of landis cog and he said that one of the things he talked about was client was. How important is winning to you. And the client said very important. And i want to win. And he said well. Okay look at the landscape and tell me if you go free agent. How many places do you think you're going to get a good contract where you're gonna win and i think last looked at that like for example. Let's say is deal ended up being eight times seven. Let's go seven times seven. Well what other forward gut times seven. Nobody and if you look at it to jeff where were you gonna get seven times seven or even seven times eight and a half if you wanted to do it that way where you had a chance to win. I don't know how many of those positions were available so at the end of the day. The grinded their way. There and land scott got a good contract at a place. He wanted to be number one choice and they're good enough to win. And i think that matter them you i think mcdermott was a really good pickup for them. I've always liked mcdermott. And i think colorado felt that that was one thing that was missing from them in the playoffs. Is i think they felt. They got a bit pushed around by vegas. And you need some of that beef. I've always liked mcdermott. I'm a fan of his. And i'll tell you this i did. Have someone say to me that they thought that at one point colorado might have been stealthy team on eichel. I asked a couple of other teams about that. And they said they could do it but there is a salary cap in this league. So i'm assuming with everything that they've done here even as a long shot. That probably can't work. i think is too is. They still have incredible talent. There's still a really really talented team. And i think they're going to be a handful for everyone. And i expect if they're good they'll go out in the late again. Dallas stars glendening and raffle ryan suter adds to a really impressive de corps to the dallas stars which now includes as well as you wanna talk about rough and tumble hard hitting defense mignoni. Hawkenport comes in In third pairing role for dallas. They're blue alex real nice and i know a lot of eyebrows. Raised elliott about brayden hopi And everybody looked at dallas and said well how many goaltenders are allowed to play at one time. Here's how i feel about the whole thing. I think the dallas wants. Jake ought to have a lot of reps this year And play a lot of minutes and so even though he'll be given the chance to win the starter's job at training camp. He'll probably play in the american league and see where it goes from there. They're probably not sure about ben bishops health..

"Now. Is that going to continue? You know, two and three years from now, I don't know. And that's why I would think that Alex Ovechkin is going to protect himself. Because I think this I think the record is very important to him. I really do believe that. I think there has to be people in the Alexa veteran camp that says he is ultimately going to be a team player. There's no question about that. But at the same time This is a very special record. Goal scoring record is Don't think that will be broken. I just I don't believe that it will be broken in today's game. It's too hard. Too many goals to be scored. Always left winger. Correct. Is right handed shot that plays left wing. Yeah. There's going to be a left wing, opening on a major major major line with someone on team with some money this year. Who would that be? Colorado Avalanche is Gabriel Landeskog, not a free agent. He's not going anywhere. No, he's not. Absolutely not. He's the captain. He is exactly what every single team and in the National Ocular League would Would love love to have You not agree. Yeah, but there's very, very few teams that I think Are going to ever land these types of players if and when they ever come up with these points of their career like Sidney Crosby, for instance, if this was Gabriel Landeskog You're talking Landis Stark. I thought your attention about we're talking about language. Skog. You're the one who had brought up the possibility to be a left wing on Colorado. And I truly believe that Landeskog. Is a major factor. And why Nate McKinnon has success and make a random okay, because he plays a style that is there's going to be 31 teams in the league that are gonna want him. If he goes to the market, there's no question about it. He's a leader of the team. I just don't see gave your Linus saw leaving the Colorado Avalanche because Over all those years that there was struggles and they were last place in the league, and they continue to build and build and build their in a situation where They believe that they can win the Stanley Cup. They believe with what they currently have moving forward for the next number of years. They feel that they have an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup when you have bone Bryant Bayram And, um Came a car and the defenseman that they have on the Colorado Avalanche with the forwards that they've acquired over the years. This is a very, very good hockey team, and I don't think that Gabriel line, Scott is gonna want to leave that. Well, he may not have a choice because here's the situation right? Like Look at what's going on here like They're in the the teams in the mid range of you looking cat friendly. The teams in the mid range in cap friendly still are up against the cap and some in some regard like they have, and they're gonna have They start the sign came a car. Okay? Yep. Uh, I don't know how, um, you know important or how much money Connor Timmons is going to get Dennis Gilbert. But kill my car is going to be a big one on the back end. Okay, then you also have to if you're going to re sign Landeskog, what's he going to make sods gone? He's not coming back. But McKinnon in two more years. You have Nate McKinnon. Was going to be a U F A Okay? What's my car? Get He will be making an outrageous amount of money. He's absolutely unbelievable to watch. He's absolutely anybody could arguably be the best. Defenseman in the National Hockey League. If you were to take if you were to take Victor Hedman. And summoned him back to Finland or Sweden. Okay, kill my car will be The North Trophy winner for the next 10 years. Because the way he moves the puck the way he Joins the offense. He's like having 1/4 forward on the ice, but I can tell you right now. He's also a very solid defender. He's a very solid defender. He's he's truly one of the best defenseman. Around right now, and he's at the ripe age of what 22 23. He's gonna be. He's gonna be pretty special. He's gonna make a lot of money in this next contract. "Relief for Connor Timmons down low, He scars it's over, Joe just Mm hmm. Per Taison and the Evel edge of it to one lead. What a pass from Connor Timmons. It was a great pass from Connor Timmons pose a better finish by Tyson Josta. If you made a list Of the guys that you would expect to step up last night and help the Colorado Avalanche clinch home ice advantage. How many guys would you write down before Tyson Joseph? And while you're doing the math in your head Uh, let me give you the answer. The answer is everyone. Everyone. Granted in Landeskog Qadri. The car. Omar Donskoy. The list goes on and on. Dyson. Jos would be one of the last people that you would expect. To step up in such a huge spot. And, yes, the final score says that the ABS blew out the Kings. If you watch that game last night, it was tight. Especially in that first period. Dyson. Jos would not be the guy that you would expect. Not only tie the game at one, but give the ABS a lead that they would never relinquish. And think about The plight of Tyson Jos. Where he has been as highly touted as any prospect. In an avalanche, I would say an avalanche history. He also became the most maligned prospect. An avalanche history. Once he became a pro, he looked like a bust. He looked like a disappointment. Like with everybody up and down the Avalanche roster. The best thing to happen to him was Jerry Ben are and it took a little while. Wasn't immediate. Jared Ben, are Working in concert with Tyson Jos. Has gotten Joe's to one of the Ask players down the stretch for the apse. If you haven't been paying attention, she Tyson Jos has been one of the ABS best players. In a situation where the AVS had to win. Four in a row. Five of 66 of seven. In order to win the president's trophy. The division And get home ice. What a remarkable turnaround. For Tyson Josta and after the game. He was just pump that His team won the game. That's been awesome prom. It's feels good, so Um e mean, I say it feels better toe to get this first place has something we've been going for the whole year and The goal of our starting in training camp and, um It's an awesome group of guys is it was an awesome regular season and there's much more ahead of us here, so it's exciting and I'm happy and contributing and can't wait for playoffs. And if Tyson Joseph's doing what he's been doing over the last few weeks just makes the abs that much more difficult to be. You see the recent emergence of Alec's new hook since he joined the team. Think about the guys that they're going to get back. Nathan McKinnon. Hopefully bow Bayram sooner rather than later. Brandon Saad. They just got back Sam Gerard. Don't want to jinx anything. So I'll try to See if we could be like, do the mind meld thing? You know what I'm saying? When it comes to the ads and their health and what strength they would be at Like another way to put it is the ABS have been on an extended penalty kill. And now finally, the guy comes out of the box, right? Full strength. We're getting.

"Next four games, including yesterday or against Vegas. And we know that in the Western Conference That's probably the biggest threat to the ABS going to the Stanley Cup finals. No. So this was going to be a very interesting week. Well, given how short handed the AVS were and how they and and played in 11 days. Um, I think it sets him up nicely, to be honest. I think it does. I think that you know you get my car back. You get Landeskog back. Maybe Gerard comes back. Uh, during that time Maybe they're closer to full strength come Saturday for that showcase game in Lake Tahoe. Um But it did start off the week pretty well if they would've gone slapped around yesterday. Any. It would have taken away something from this week. But it's The reason why this kind of scheduling corks or happening is not good, because it's covert related. But it does create a very interesting dynamic where you have basically Almost of best three out of five serious type of situation going on, with these two teams playing each other four consecutive times. And I was getting the gauge. Um You know how how they stack up against each other, because I think those air two best teams in the wife. Still early early doors so someone can emerge. Saint Louis, I I don't wanna knock them at all. I think that there are very good team. Just look at Vegas and in the absence say even they are slightly a notch above ST Louis. But you figured the blues. They're gonna be in that mix. How top heavy is that division by the way? Like they were talking on the broadcast yesterday about the surprising Anaheim Ducks, and they are surprising doing extent. But it's like they're They've got the benefit of playing the rest of that division. That division is so top heavy with Vegas, Colorado and ST Louis, and then you just have mediocre to bad teams. Throughout the rest of it, and Anaheim has been a beneficiary of that. So you look at the standings in Anaheim's you know up with those other three teams, but you know, over the course of the season. That's not gonna be the case that Vegas, ST Louis and Colorado are all much better than Anaheim is. Hopefully, they can Get in the full season. When I was You know why? I've said this multiple times, I I continue to feel this way. You know the ABS or just a team that That never Rarely get disappointed. By the Colorado Avalanche. Because as short handed as they were It would have been easy for them to lose 41. Ah, three. Nothing. You know, it would have been easy for us to come away saying, Wow, they really got slapped around, but they didn't. And that that's just that the team's identity even when they lose. I want to say that you're impressed, but you're just satisfied. You're never lacking for satisfaction when it comes to the effort. For the Avalanche. They always try to figure out a way and in the defenseman Like Bo, Bayram, Young young, Bo Bayram and Connor Timmons and these guys Throwing their bodies in front of puck. Ryan Graves these air all younger guys. That are Are throwing themselves in front of pox to keep Philip grew power from having a face a ton of shots. And you give him a ton of credit, and that's just That's just the mentality of the players. But that also is a credit to Jared Bednar in the culture in the in the his coaching style that these guys Make no excuses. Right. The halves make no excuses. This guy's out. That guy's out doesn't matter. And we've seen recently, especially after Laker game with the Nuggets that the excuses Flow like wine, sometimes. Don't think It's funny because Every single. It's like Gary Harris and PJ Dozer. You would think and reading some people, you would think that it was You're losing out on Jordan and Pippen not having Jordan and Pippen. But the ABS are Missing all of these guys. And there are no excuses. There's nobody making excuses. For them. I suppose I was A little bit, but they were right there in that game had a chance to win that game. It's just It's just a different dynamic. Anything goes wrong for the Nuggets, and it didn't used to be like this, because remember, the Nuggets last year had the game in Oklahoma City, where they won with the magnificent seven. They beat the Bucks short handed. On the second game of a back to back playing Johannes. They one and the Nuggets were like that. But it's but as the season progressed last year I don't know something happened. Because now it's You know in any had this in the playoffs a little bit, and then the next day, So a lot of Just a lot of excuses. Some that come out of the Nuggets that just don't with the The Avalanche, and I'm not just talking about the players. You're saying people that cover them the tone And the conversation around these two teams has been very different. Really post. Uh, are it wouldn't be post pandemic. Since the start of the pandemic. It's weird. I just noticed this that any time anyone is slightly banged up or out, or Any officiating decision or anything. It's just that's always being discussed. With the Denver Nuggets. They lost because they don't have this guy. Then this guy or officiating or whatever, Whatever. And then with the Avalanche, it's like they're missing. Half of their defenseman. Missing their captain. Not only is that not in the N B C broadcast played it up a little bit right? Because they have to it. It's ah, it's a national audience. You know, they come to watch certain players McKinnon, maybe McCarley Landis, God, and they're not playing and you know you find these story lines. Like the conversation on Twitter or Not a lot of like we all knew. It was.

"Period of this hockey game. I've said it a couple times already this weak when it comes to the Denver Nuggets, and I'm setting once already today, two best words in professional sports game. Seven. And that's what we have. Today is the Colorado Avalanche are looking to become just the 30th team in the history of the NHL to rally from a deficit of 31 and win the series. The Avalanche are one win away from the Western Conference finals, a place they have not been. Since 2000 and two and of course they are dealing with a slew of injuries as well. No Gabe Landeskog or Connor Timmons in the game today, and they were already without group and Frankie and a J and Calvi's so it's It's Ah, It's a tough one for the avalanche, but they're still looking pretty good in the first period. The first goal this game came before the three minute mark. I hope you were You are ready and had your frosty beverage and everything is right out the gate. The Dallas Stars went on the power play and did this with the point facing walked the line. Throw the towards the Net kept on saying made by Hutchinson Rebound, they score. And it's right to us. On the doorstep of a power play goal for the stars. It's been a theme in this series. As Mikko Rantanen. His head hung comes out of the penalty box. And just like Game six, the Avalanche Trail one. Nothing in the first Alexander Rattle of his six goal of the postseason comes on the power play 2 39 of the first.

"The matchups are going to be interesting because Dallas gets to set up for this game six. Hey, skin and down from the point behind the net centering pass broken up by Nathan MacKinnon. Here he comes with speed through centre ice. McKinnon, there with Andre ski passes backed away from him and the stars will charge ahead in the form of Jamie election. Oh, catapulted to the far corner Graves is there leans into his man, Ironic Fox that allows the car to get the puck and flip it back for Ryan Graves. Nice play between the two demon for the Colorado Avalanche taken back by the Dallas Stars in both teams will change again. Dallas has come out as they didn't Game four. They're hitting everything. Here's Landis God, leading the charge in Houston, shot made by Khudobin rebound to the corner Skin two goals two games ago. Back to the point in coal holds his ray shot. His block to the corner bodies were in front. The puck never got there, sitting at the start Blue line here they come through Centre Ice, Tyler. Say again, we'll roll it in on Michael Hutchinson get sprayed with snow from his own defenseman is in cold skate. Made a snow shower and we'll get Face off and Raja Love and Sidorov, perhaps talking to each other in Russian between the two benches. Or the one thing You want to get in trouble early in this game, take a stupid penalty. The coaches will absolutely Open an it because Dallas knows that the Avalanche just steamroll the class came and for that right now, The Avalanche know that Dallas is power point is red hot five goals in the last two games. So you gotta throw 23. Maybe. Dollars of power players over taken Colorado's the Stanley Cup playoffs. Here's the pass in front. What a Seif made by Michael Hutchinson. Right on the doorstep. And he was able to stand strong and cover up the rebound. But somehow a star got loose behind the cage. It was a centering pass, and Hutchinson made the stop. The Avalanche have five guys download Connor. You and I were talking about this. The first four games. The Avalanche had led a lot of guys stand by themselves in front of the net. Last game it started. They were good. Offensively. It's a shot from the point say may buy Hutchinson. Other slapper misses the net completely Now, Secretary Side point for Dallas will send a deep reaching for it is Connor Timmons? Matt Nieto will bounce it down. Ice thought it took a deflection. It did. There is no icing. Behind the Net mural, Haste canal across for Sekera. He banks it off the wall, and an extra effort prevents an end zone turnover for the Dallas Stars, and Connor Timmins will go back inside his own zone out there with him to Roy has a head for Logan O'Connor helped get the store they scoring going two nights ago. His first career playoff point and assist appear and why Belmar chop headed center ice by Graves will send a lot of you Don't Round referee Brad Meyer. Now it's stuck in the corner. Birkhoff is their top line is out there for Colorado centering pass. But Nathan McKinnon was helping upper cops. G in the corner stars.

"And you fell right into the Avalanche, as they did with the Avalanche did in games one afore. They just didn't think I didn't try to slow things down. They didn't try to do the little things that maybe disrupt the Avalanche. The Avalanche work. That's the first period. That's what every team in the National Hockey League fierce that the Avalanche you're going to do to them. They're just gonna come out and it's going to be this line that next line. This guy, that guy McKinnon, you name it. It's gonna happen in the first period. And so you're you're you're You're mad at yourself. Now, this first period of this game, you got to be a completely different hockey club of your Dallas. What's the goaltending situation look like tonight for both squads, well for the Avalanche. It is, in fact, Michael Hutchinson and Pavel Friends. So's doesn't sound like he's fit to play yet, so it'll be the exact same line up as Two nights ago in Game Number five, and Anton Khudobin will, in fact, go for the Dallas Stars. Of course, Twitter, social media and hockey writers and the like, Over the past 48 hours have been talking about Rick. Bonuses. Decision to start Ben Bishop over Anton Khudobin Bishop gets pulled Khudobin goes in. It's back to back situation a lot of factors in there, but it has been Khudobin is playoffs, and that will continue to be the case as the Stars look to close out the Avalanche in Game number six, but it is Hutchinson in his second career playoff start. And it is Khudobin going again for Dallas. What did you How did you all think? Hutchinson looked in his very first playoffs start. He was exactly what you wanted. You know, he was wasn't perfect. But you knew is going be nervous and he came out and he, you know the first period, five shots had he let one in when there's such a dominating period for the Avalanche is going to start to look over your shoulder a little bit. He got through it. He got stronger as the game went on. Dallas ended up having 30. Plus, he did not allow a soft one, and I think that's a really key. She made Alice work for their goals They did and then in this series, I mean, every game is gonna have 89 10 goals. That's just that's just the way for these games have been played. So you you know when, when it all came down. He was he was comfortable in nets, and it was a very strong performance. And what about Timmins? Would you guys think about Connor Timmons in his in his playoff debut for the youngster? I thought he was was he was salad. I mean, you see, you see why coach might go to him because Hey, was reliable. I know. He took two penalties. One was a little bit of luck. He's trying to do the right thing and play the puck out his own. It goes over the glass on into the quote unquote stands there. Roger's place. He's out there on the second power play unit and the coaching staff is sort of laying the groundwork for not only the president, but the future for the Avalanche blue line. Absolutely to me. There's just two ways to look at it. You brought him in. And he was he was good and he's really good at that first pass so quick and he is just a lightning quick out there another one of those defenses for the avalanche, and he's strong. And if brought on top of it, If you're the avalanche, it is a little look forward because now you're saying to yourself come training camp in whatever he's had This experience does these air big, huge, important game with a lot of pressure and Two way we see. For example, came a car. How much improvement there was from the playoffs last year, and how much more comfortably was coming into the regular season? Just because he had played those 10 games you these are the toughest game to possibly you learn Maurin one game here than you will in five games during the regular season because you're mentally everything is just happening so quickly. The other team is coming at you in waves. And so I can't tell you how impressed I was with him, but how important he is going to be for the future of this franchise. Alright, Conner. How about the keys to the contest? Well burn. Oh, how about him? King number one is protect touch or that much, no matter. It's not that piece of furniture that's in your mom's. Kitchen right before that, to protect that, because it's very valuable, but Michael Hutchinson. There we go. Thank you, Michael Hutchinson. Part of the reason that goaltenders are successful art is the defense has played in front of us. We talked about this on numerous occasions. Peter McNabb hit the nail on the head as he tends to Dio 31 shots last game. If the ABS Khun get in the.

"The Net of Hutchinson. Pasts now for McKinnon, Rantanen ahead now, for Murkowski, spreading into the corner goes in there with Klingberg shoves him aside, but comes free. Pavelski is back to help out. His defenseman kept him by Gerard. Nice touch ofthis Gate of Nico ranting, and he's able to work back and get it free for Connor Timmons waiting in his own blue line. Timmons loves that quick headman pass across ice had picked out hit escape. Stars keep it in jury on on humans is there Just a little bit. Gerard has it sends it ahead for Mikko Rantanen ransom trying to get loose. As the moose Tends to do. Harvey's taking pack. Qalqilya No near side wing he's rubbed aside by Sam Gerard the door off into the corners. This time with coma, Homo shoves his way loose that door. Excuse me, Gerard knocked Omo down to the ice box stays in shock from the point from Alexia and Hutchinson is able to track it and hang on with no rebound and again, there's a dogpile in front of the net. And I believe it's fox, who's right on top of comfort and comfort. Wearing a burgundy sweater made blending with the stars. It's all white with snow. Gerard took Cobo into the corner. Really? Well, yeah. And Komal came back and pushed him down, landed on top of sportsmanlike conduct grabbing face shield. S O. Gerard, So Gerard is going to get the penalty for bribing a face shield..

"Ice. Look is on the second unit power. Play out there was Sam Gerard. It's Connor Timmons. In his playoff NHL debut high sticking as we get a whistle as the beginning moments of the second period, five on three has expired. The ABS do not score, but they're still up by five goals. Underbelly number 20 I stick Connor Timmons his first assist in his first penalty, I will say this to you. Just because of how this Siri's has gone and how Dallas is played. This's problems, at least comfortable. Five Nothing like I've ever been around, you know, they say, Where's leading sports? Five? These darts five goal leads or get your free time. Fist goes in. I was talking about overtime. Yeah. If this goes into overtime, you'll be talking to be in the car. I'll be on the way home. Don't work. You won't be bothered. I may not speak to you ever again. As the power play is now in effect for Dallas have taken their first penalty of the game. Down. Deep labor can't get too loose block stars going left to right in the second period. Is he and Cole gets just enough on that? Not a one time opportunity away from Tyler Sagan stars Keep it alive. It's Rachael off back to the point for Klingberg walked the blue line shot towards the net. They may buy Hutchinson in the ABS, clear it down ice. 17 17 ago in our second period five Colorado buck and change to go on the power play for Dallas Randall off into the Avalanche zone plays about the wall for bend over now for Klingberg. Further along now by Pavelski Backhand feet for Klingberg. The point far side now for Jamie Benn approaches shot towards the Nets made by Hutchinson rebounded loose as trying to clear but Hit their own man. Big slapper from Graves. I think it had Tyson jokes in the back stars keep it alive deep like Klingberg down below the circle Now for say, again back for Klingberg, take the one timer towards the net. And it watches wide by Colorado. They chip it up the boards. Mannion will get to it, and he's able to force it towards the neutral zone. With about 45 seconds to go in the power playboy. The Dallas Stars. Hurry past far side. Broken up by Colorado and they're able to get it down Ice..

"Get the hash marks now. Sam Gerard wide open. He lets fly. Who'd open had no idea where the Buffaloes he was behind. It was up the glass and the stars will bring it out towards center ice. He's looking in front of him. He's searching in front of a parade and all the sudden this off the glass there go off him behind the glass. The Avalanche had their last four goals in two minutes and 35 seconds. Ads have five goals. The Stars have four shots on goal. Here comes Hey, skin it now. For Alexia near side approaches, the redline dumps it deep too deep. Sidorov is their backhands it off the wall further along by Cole kept in far side point by haste. Now behind the Nets the door up he holds up now for cold quickly looks ahead under the skates of layering. Choose Khun off the boards. Tyson Jos can tracking down election has now Hey, skin sends it ahead for Dallas, Denmark enters the zone near side Circle. Yeah. Marko's widens Adora, Adora moves his legs to stay with them. Sidorov is able to pinch him and the park up against the boards. Fox Sports Freight Hold trying to track it down. Sectoral pinch keeps it alive back behind the net by hints intercepted by the door off, he'll send it ahead for the speedy Matt Nieto yet games the line trying to dump a deep in it. A member of the stars at the Blue Line. It's a hand pass on Colorado and we get a whistle with under two to go in the period. It remains five. Nothing. Colorado, Sammy Gerard just continues to put up numbers but to play so well for the Avalanche and You know he's missing. Let's not forget that he's missing his normal partner for almost his entire career here with the Avalanche jumps Eric Johnson and he has stepped in and he was played well. Couple of assists The goal tonight. And on his goal. They have given the assists toe under Burakovsky and to Connor Timmins know so congratulations to both Logan O'Connor and Connor Timmons, who received their first career playoff points in this first period tonight versus Dallas. Scott down. The near wing tried to get kill MacArthur Park at the point it was blocked Qadri trying to help him out on now Expect out of the pile by almost into behind Mitt for dune, and he lost it up for the stars. Down to one needs. Kill. McCarty blocked the past. Sent further in by Dallas as graves will bump shoulders with Qalqilya know Landis God, he's drug down and park. It ends up hitting him right in the captain. See over the heart. Cadre storming ahead. You've got a golden period cadre keeps to themselves. Dick handles pressure coming from behind and he just heads back to the safe zone where Connor Timmons is waiting fan in the past, it was able to get it back and handed offer. Sam Gerard. Timmons games. Aline, able to avoid contact gets it back to him, and Timmons smartly sends a beat for Colorado minute left in the first period. And here comes Dallas down the far away. It's Dickinson spins away past towards the Granton will block their rope, a hints he's knocked down in the ice puck picked up by Burakovsky shovels. A backhand pass for Sam Gerard. Reaching for oncoming is Perry. He's whacked aside and the stars will send it down deep. Is it icing? It is not its wave dog. Timmins will stand pat behind his own net. There's a penalty up coming to Dallas, Hutchinson goes to the bench, the layering a Jew skin swinging through centre ice. Majewski power move toward that one handed, say, made by Khudobin as the penalty is coming to Dallas. I believe Mr Peterman nap. It's going to be a high stick on the stars as play stopped 23.3 seconds to go in this first period five in Colorado and cost. He was tied up with a guy. Yeah. See, what Perry is Trying to do is what he successfully did last night. And now obviously unsuccessfully tonight. He was drawn in last night. He's taken him tonight. As he goes after Hey, stick him on the foul follow through and is joining the Avalanche benches a door off Ryan Graves. The twin towers staring down Corey Perry from the bench, but I'm water Did he didn't put a stick in the bench is that Is that where he got the highest IQ?.

"Way move from talk about one bubble to talk about another word. Just talking hoops, Kurt healing and now Time to talk about hockey voice that we're very happy to have back on these airwaves. Connemara gave the voice of the ABS avalanche getting ready for their season to resume Connor your level of excitement from one to infinity. Well as I tweeted out earlier today, somebody us same question to quote the late Captain Nemo, played by James Mason. How excited I am defies my powers of description, so that There you go. Always a way with words You have Connor. But echo, though I would echo those same sentiments. And if I don't it doesn't impact how the avalanche or going to fare this season and It doesn't impact a lot of this stuff that we're talking about. But I do think it's worth interesting to point out it's worth pointing out. For 1000. Whatever tests zero positives in the NHL, That's gotto make people around the NHL feel really good and really You know, confident about what they can pull off now that the teams are in Toronto and Edmondson Oh, and now is the one thing that was one of the big hurdles that it seemed like the league was concerned about is just getting the teams who had been in their own cities doing their training camps for 13 days into the bubble. The fact that you now have arrived and The sheer number and you know this is an accurate number coming from the NHL thatyou do 4300 tests. I think 4256 if I remember correctly, and you have zero positive, I mean, that is quite a feat right there. So that will make the league and everybody breathe a little bit. He's here and now they can. Live in their little many cities on an NHL called today we sort of got at Ah virtual tour and we've seen on social media. What? Some of the rooms, hotels Streets looked like inside the bubble there, and Edmonton makes a lot of sense for how they could do it, especially with the J. W. Marriott for the Avalanche, staying because it's connected. Roger's place. There's a practice sheet ice there as well. Theat actually practiced at the the ice. Black says about 25 minutes away from downtown Edmondson. They take a bus to that you'd come back, but, um, you have. The set up is a good one. The NHL worked hard. They were the first to announce that they were going to come back with the last actually do it, so they took their time. They did it right, And that shows in the smallest of examples with those negative covert tests that they announced today. From what I saw on social media only saw a little bit before I went on air today. It looks very much like the NBA like they're trying, Tio. They're not trying to have the open seats around. Have you see them? Right? Did I see that right? Does it look like the rink is kind of closed off a little bit? Correct. So they put like those sort of artistic tarps over some of the seats. You know that you would do they did for the stadium serious that we sort of saw that in the corners. But then the rest of what you'll see on TV are all individually Fed led board that will complement what you see on television and hopefully I can translate for you on the radio. So visually, you're right. You're not gonna have these big, cavernous venues that feel empty. They have put together a construction that makes it feel a little more intimate. Uh, very screen heavy thegame presentation. They put a little bit more emphasis on a cz faras, the themes and again it's not It's not designed around fans because they're old being in its designed around 32 television cameras that will be part of every single broadcast coming to you for amendments and Toronto so from From that aspect. It is really fascinating, and I think we'll make it easier for the players do not feel like you know, they're they're playing in front of big, empty barn. Layers are always gonna want to play it from the fans. But if you can't on an environment like this one from what I could tell what the N B a is doing is is probably the second best option. Yes, sir. Seems like economy gay. He joining us here on drive time sports. So I get why the NHL wants their teams to be mom about injuries and illnesses and And hockey is never very, you know, out in the open, right? It's always lower body upper body there never really giving away a lot of details. But because of how War. They were hiding, not hiding things, but how they were shielding or not divulging information led a lot of people to speculate wildly about Thelma Carr. His health, his whereabouts everything. He was out on the ice just before the ABS went to Edmonton. How do you look to you? He looked good before that Last practice. He was out on his own, probably 3/4 speed without a stick uses doing skating drills. You started that last practice on Saturday. In a red noncontact sweater, but he participated pretty much as normal. Um, it played a little bit of scrimmage is the first group main travelling group that they were gonna take with badminton. And then they went into special teams. The red sweater came off blue sweater went on on and it was business as usual Film a car from what we could tell today was the same. Think L'm a car where you blue? To be back with that number one power play unit, which is just outrageous, by the way. I mean, now that everybody's healthy that that power play unit was talking point that we have put together months ago if you remember I know it's hard to take back all that time ago. I mean, we were different people, then Ryan, but but we got a glimpse and sort of a reminder of that Top power play unit is Sam Gerard did a nice job when he stepped in for him a card when he missed his games with injury, But but the number eight being back on that blue line is something special. So It appears visually and again. We don't have confirmation of this, but it appears that he should be good to go playing again. That is that is not confirmed, though, at this point from Jared. Whoa! Bayram, Anything Mohr than just another body to practice against. Do you think there's any way he gets any kind of time up there and Edmondson barring an injury? Coach Bednarz said today on a on a conference call with the media that there there is a possibility that some of the young guys, there are three of us. I mean, chain Bauer's Connor Timmons added to that group. There's a possibility that they could be in line up for that exhibition game coming up on Wednesday versus the Minnesota wild Find those decisions have not been made yet, but I think it's good for Hiram Timmons Powers to be on a trip like this to be with a team like this in deceit, the process in which Ah, question of the Stanley Cup could be crashed in and I think that will go miles for a premiere player, Mike, both Byron and Connor Timmons, Timmons, by the way. I mean, what? What an amazing story. You know, a year and 1/2. Not not playing, not skating wanted. You had to be on the separate sheet ice Nine. Contact is doing drills over him to be in and look good. I mean, he is a solid solid defenseman. Is the number 20 for the Colorado Avalanche in to show up to camp. Obviously, you know, spending the year of the Eagles helped break Cronin up there in Loveland said that he was very pleased with Connor Timmons, so he's a big piece of his future as well. Tohave, Byron Timmons and Powers. Just sort of see how this works is going to go a long way for them when the ads are making Stanley Cup runs for the foreseeable future. Somebody that you have talked a lot about whether it's on the sports social or you're just talking on Twitter. To your legions of fans. You talk. Talk about Naz. Um Hey, you have more followers than me. So to me, it is Lee Jin. Ah, home.

"And one thing that he touched on which was part of my initial frustration. With a lot of the talk. I get looking for the positive, and I get not dwelling on the negative and all that kind of stuff. But I don't I didn't like after game seven. How many ads fans were well years to calm? We'll be here. I mean it just every single year. It's just going to happen. So we'll be back like it's okay to say, we'll be back. But but what I don't like is there have been times where we've thought teams we're going to be around forever. And they're not admitting boom to your like two years ago they were mazing team. Right. And we're like man this team's going to be fighting for cups and where they now. Right. So one of the worst in league if you didn't exactly. Now. Thank you. So that was my doubt was my initial frustration. Like, I get being positive and yes this team has young this team has assets they have cap space. They have the fourth pick in this draft. And I think part of the Avs. What's makes the different though is coaching? Oh, you're you're talking about. But you're referring to or another team that looks good. But isn't quite there. I think the, you know, we we joked and stuff about bedding our last year about well short term because you know, he didn't have time. And you know, this is kind of a knee jerk reaction higher. He's actually looking like he might be the guy. Yeah. He he's grown with the. Yeah. I think a guy with no I mean, we'll have to see next year. Rebound from this. Right. But he might be the guy. Yeah. I think you have the guy in place, and that's a great point because coaching does matter doesn't matter in more some sports more than other. Sure. Because it does matter in I think that the apps have the right one in Jared Bednarz. In addition to the talent that they have and the assets that they have. But I don't like. The quick reaction to be. A we're just going to we're going to run things for years to come. It's like a it doesn't make me feel any better about losing like. I wish I was still young enough where I would always be looking for the future. And I'm only thirty four I'm not trying to act like I'm much older than I am. But at a certain point, you're like. Three hundred sixty five days is a long time to get back to the same point. And let's not forget that this season was saved by a backup goaltender again. It was Jonathan Bernier last year. It was Philip group. Our this year he was the backup and only when. He got thrust into the starting job. In march. Full time. Did he really stand up? He wasn't that great for the entire season. He was really good over that last month and it coincided with the apps. Run was a big reason why they made the run they did. So yes, it seems like coaching. They have the right right man for the job. But is Philip grew. Our really the answer in goal because they Joe sack exciting Jonathan Bernier. What he did last year? And still thought that it wasn't important to bring him back. And instead he brings up grew our again backup Semion Varlamov. Now the question here is whether grew our was the backup this year. But also the air apparent because semi on Varlamov is done in an avalanche sweater. He's not coming back. He's a free agent. He's done so did sack. Bring in grew our backup Varlamov this year and take over his John next year because Bernier was strictly a one year backup. So that's a question that has to be answered. So while I am very optimistic about the talent that the apps have let's not kid ourselves and act like game one through game. One hundred was all flowers and rainbows. This team was not a good hockey team for large stretches of the season. And they turned it on in the last month and rode that wave all the way to game seven of the Western Conference semifinals, this is still a flawed team. And while I do believe that the apps have a chance to keep coming back to the playoffs. I look at one man in one man alone as being responsible for how long this window stays open. And it is Joe sack. Because Joe Sacic. You may think that he was proven right over time. I still say like I look at the shark series. Would you rather have the fourth pick in the NHL drafter? Would you rather ever Carlson that might have been pretty much? At certainly the most valuable piece that you could have given on awas for air Carlson. I you probably would have had to give up more maybe Connor Timmons a young defensemen or something like that. Not macara. You can't give a both. I get that. But the point here is Joe Sakic brought in grew Bauer and did very little else in the off season. And at the trade deadline this year. And I say that cannot happen again. They have cap space. They have draft flexibility. They have to Trump picks. Heck were all sad about the apps getting fourth. Who's to say that? The team sitting at the top of the draft. Most. No, the New Jersey. Devils would not be interested. In two first round picks in exchange for the number one pick. I think the devils found out this year that they're a little bit further away than two years ago. Made them believe so the point is sack has everything he has money. He has cue for shrimp picks. He has young guys that he can parlay because here's the thing we all love, mccaren comfort and. In Rantanen and all these young guys, but Rantanen is a restricted free agent. They're going to have to use a lot of their money to retain him. You can't keep all these young guys forever. It's why the Rockies extended Marquez when they did. Because if you have all of these guys on pace on track to get paid at the same time. You can't afford them. All. So at some point you have to parlay your young and up and coming talent, not make oh ranson. He's a cornerstone piece, but even someone like JT com or someone like that you say, okay. Can we pour les? Somebody like that. That was an important playoff player. And turn him into a star by trading him and an asset to get whatever. Other big name, whoever becomes this offseason. Eric carlson. PK sue ban. I know makes you throw up in your mouth a little bit as an ads fan. But tell me if sue Ben magically changed into an advocacy that you wouldn't love him. Of course, you would. Seems like he's the guy that might be on the trade market. So if Joe Sacic believes that he can go into this offseason and just keep everything status quo. Use the fourth pick us though, I think it's like sixteenth pick as well. Maybe get a vet to place on the third line. Get Philip grew Bowers backup and call it a day. It's not good enough. Because it wasn't what he did last off season wasn't good enough for about seventy two games this year. So while I do share mostly in the optimism that many apps fans. Have after that game seven and after the run that they had through the playoffs. I say that Joe Sacco cannot rest on his laurels. He must be aggressive. He must try to find that missing piece..

"You know, what impressed me the most entire situation. What's that Gabriel landed Scott's reaction? So there's the captain yelling right beside. Nathan mackinnon. Okay. Here's a captain of the Colorado Avalanche. And Nathan MacKinnon is having a go at the head coach. Maybe someone who's not as mature tries to stop Nathan MacKinnon right away and his all over him Landis doesn't he realizes this guy needs to blow off steam. But then at a certain point Landis Gog puts his arm on them and says, okay, that's enough times up. You guys had you little bark. Let's get back to it. It ended in a little bit of comedy. With McKenna taken the the back bump at the same time. But I was really impressed with landed cog some players I really do think would have overreacted in that situation and tried to grab Kenan to get them to stop blandest recognizes situation this guy needs to blow off a little bit. We're going to let it go. Yeah. And I agree. Now, you point that out. Absolutely. How totally the right way. But you see the Avs in advance of February twenty five I've heard they're going to be relaxed. No, obviously you wanna make the playoffs. Right. But if you think you're getting one of their major major assets, you're better be dropping something huge on their laps. Is that include because I have to I. Yep. The other pick might. Routers, kale? Macara Connor Tim has come. There's there's assets. No, I forgot to put Connor Timmons actually in the notes today. I think they're prepared to be patient. The sense. I get and talking to them is that they realized that their window is just opening McKinnon's got one of the best contracts in the National Hockey League. You've got us sign rant. And I think the other thing too is they're kind of looking at their goal tanning and saying we need these guys to be better and Varlamov and grew Bauer are not better than no matter. What they do. They're probably not gonna win. Well, they've made a commitment to grab our two more years and the commitment to Simeon for Allom office question, Mark. Yes. And he's really been inconsistent. This you look at the drop off from month to month. Yes. Consistent from one save percentage. And then it just continues to trend down to here we are in in amid going on to late January and having the same conversations about semi umbrella. Absolutely. And they're still growing. They're young kids the conference in the oh, I think they're going to sit there and say will nibble, but we're not taking a big swing to give. Give up our best assets unless it's a total and complete game changer closer to the trade deadline. I'd like to GM review show and get your thoughts on all thirty one general managers around the NHL but quickly that's on Joe sack because for the longest time. This is pre Matt Shane homerun. Yup. It was incapable of making a move taking the day off. What's this guy doing not unlike what Kevin Chevrolet off got for so long in Winnipeg as well until he started to hit home runs, but he was patient where you add on Joe sack? I admire his patients. No, not only that with the Duchenne move. But Jared Bedser. So they lose Patrick wine August, and they have to go through a quick search and lane Lambert was one of the guys who was on that list and Bednarz, and I'd always heard that Chris McFarland who is the right hand. Man there the sack he really pushed for bed Nyerere because he was in Columbus when Bednarz coach there and won the American Hockey League championship called her Cup. So bed NAR goes there. And that first year is a nightmare and that April at the lottery when sac was here, I ran down. I said what are you doing with your coach? And he just said this year was not fair is not fair to fire this guy after what we just did last year. So what I've seen in Joe Sacic is, you know, people say that always not involved. Whatever what I see is a guy who's really patient. And his patients has panned out in two ways number one trading Duchenne and number two not firing Jared bed NAR who's done a really good job with that team..
