"Getting some good reports turn up, turnout is picking up that kind of mid morning surge. I think people are turning into an all day affair. The F one 50 cavalry in Pennsylvania, Charlie, the F one 50 cavalry has arrived. They're going to be arriving all day. They're in the central PA. They're in the exurbs, during the rurals, like extra county, York county. We need to drive that in western PA. We need western PA also, by the way, remember that Conor lamb district. We are looking to flip that streak in the Connor lamb district. It will be flipped today. Just watch. As always, you can email us what you're seeing, what you're hearing freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com. And look, if I have some urgency in my voice today, I will not apologize for that. Because we need to increase the trend. Does that mean it can? Of course, in a second, this can turn around. But we do not, here's the way it works in Arizona. And I don't mean to be too focused on Arizona because we're a national program, but I think the eyes of the nation really are on Arizona, aren't they Jack? I agree. Yeah. And so with Kerry Lake and Blake masters and all these dynamics and it being a 2024 state is there's a lot of people that are dropping off their ballot. We have no idea how many people that is. So explain that. Why would somebody drops off the ballot? Do we not get that? Well, because they're no one's counting it. It gets put in a big box, and then they count it in the days after. And I say, well, why do people that like box four? So these are people that are kind of splitting the difference between putting their ballot in the mail and voting in person. So they feel more secure, and there is some rationale for this. So it's like turning the actual polling station into a drop of Dropbox. Yeah. So basically they go and they look at the poll worker and they say, where do I put it? You put it in the Dropbox and you walk away. That's it. And hopefully that gets counted. The idea being that that's much more secure than one of these. Than just some Dropbox on the side of the street. I've seen him driving around here at Maricopa. Just so everybody knows, we're here in the heart of Maricopa County right now. Email is freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com. Okay, let's get to some sound here. And let's get through, okay, so I'm going to go to this one here. North Scottsdale voting location, just like mine having technical difficulties, let's go to cut 89. Valid or if it's wrong when they put in some other checks. The other option is accessible. It's definitely 100% of the time. Lots of ballot issues happening right now. I know that was hard to hear, but we're fortifying the elections hard here in Maricopa where we're fortifying them so hard right now. But it's also happening in Mercer county, New Jersey, play cut 92. Voting machines are down in each district across Mercer county because of a printing and scanning issue with the ballots. But voters though can still go to their polling locations insert their ballot into an emergency slot of the machine. And the website it says it appears that county officials won't be able to tally those votes though tonight. They are right now working to fix that problem. New Jersey baby, I love New Jersey. And so I hear there. It's the emergency slot..

"Races we're going to be tracking for you tomorrow none more so than in Pennsylvania I think we could argue but early voting starts tomorrow in Texas and you know things are big in Texas That's where Donald Trump showed up over the weekend to rally for his endorsed candidates there Get a taste of the former president The Biden disasters are too numerous to count but inflation is the highest in nearly 50 years gas prices have reached the highest price ever in the history of our country destroying families You know when you have gas prices at this this is like the biggest tax increase ever proposed or enacted times three That's what it's like That's how bad the gasoline is affecting families not to mention your electric costs And everything else grocery prices are skyrocketing to get the baby And you can't even find baby formula to feed your infant See Okay now he could have said that in any state And that's kind of the point right That's the laundry list right now The Democrats have to deal with in every one of these races that we're talking about Or at least will in the general in some cases it'll help decide the primaries as well but we're getting a real sense of this narrative here as we connect the dots nationally The situation in Pennsylvania though is special We want to assemble the panel reassemble the panel with Rick and Jeannie to at least start there and try to get through as many of these as we can Rick Davis you've run enough campaigns to understand what's going on behind the scenes of the fetterman camp right now You're the lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania You've run before you know the game You get a stroke the weekend before the primary What does that mean for his chances if anything You know I think he's locked in his vote Pennsylvania is not a big early voting state So it's not like he's locked it in by already having a lot of early voters But people have a pretty good impression of him And I'd say his video that he released as you described it with his wife basically taking credit for his health which I think she ought to be on the ballot He's probably locked in Mondays before Tuesday election are always my favorite day because there's really nothing for the campaign to do Doesn't have to raise any new money The homework and stuff Homework's done So it's all about turning out the vote And he's had anywhere from a 30 to 39% advantage So it literally doesn't matter if he's in a hospital bed He doesn't have to show if he can turn out his vote that he's identified he'll be fine You make it this Genie if you're the Democrat on the other side you can't make an issue out of his health now No you can't And you know we all wish him well And it is stunning when you just listen to Greg Talk about Chris van hollen you know lujan and mount federman all these young men and with the Senate this it's absolutely very scary And of course Greg's piece on the race is amazing The best rundown I've read Yeah there's a lot there actually It's worth saying that Genie and appreciate you're saying that you've got all of the states in play here and a lot of races that aren't on people's radars If you're on the terminal check it out Conor lamb though Genie Malcolm Kenyatta opportunity or no you can't do that in politics You can't do that And you know Connor land has just not been able to make a case He is somebody who showed a lot of promise a few years ago but fetterman has absolutely won the game on authenticity He has shown and you were talking about this that he is a fighter that that is what he is going to do for the people of Pennsylvania And I think you know on both sides of these races that's what people are looking for And that's why I think in part Kathy Barnett has resonated with so many Republican primary goers as well It's this issue of authenticity It's this issue of being a fighter And that's what fetterman does and especially in the next 24 hours He can't surmount that I don't see any way And for Democrats you hear a lot of Democrats across the country who say fetterman is really showing other Democrats how they can do this in these purple states So I think he is a very promising candidate you know hopefully a healthy candidate as well So goatee shorts hoodie Is that it Jeannie That's the recipe That is it We want to see you in that Joe master in the campaign trail Tomorrow night Tomorrow night chamber dinner Hey Rick we haven't really had a lot of time to talk with you about Kathy Barnett Wouldn't let reporters into the rallies over the weekend being questioned openly by her challengers not able to answer every question on Fox news Sunday yesterday Is she going to go down as a spoiler here She could be a spoiler She could also be the winner And her trajectory has been so fast and so furious that the public hasn't really had to catch up with her She is a place where you park your vote because you've gotten a dislike both mehmed Oz and David McCormick because they told you to dislike each other They beat each other up so bad for the last 6 months that voters are like okay I don't like either one of those guys so I'm just going to park my vote on her And so it's not like people are jumping on her bandwagon because they think she's so great They think these other guys are so bad that they just want to have someone who they can be for And the story is compelling She might not be able to deliver the goods But it's kind of baked into the equation by now right People are going to show up Republicans are election day voters in Pennsylvania And so we're not going to know There's not a lot of it will not be difficult though Rick for Democrats to frame her as extreme I mean if you're as a mainstream Republican do you want to see that as a successful general candidate No it's a disaster Okay She's not going to have the financial resources to redefine herself They are her candidates against her McCormick and Oz are unloading enormous amount of advertising this weekend against her so she's going to run up or negatives Question is can they do it fast enough And look this is part of the problem with having these kind of contested primaries where both their strategies McCormick and ice were to go out hard and heavy early with all their own TV big money just beating each other up and not really selling themselves to the Pennsylvania public and neither one of them were well known other than their reputations They didn't earn any kind of votes yet And so it's the danger of running a negative campaign And they both thought they could take each other out And the winner would be the nominee and here comes Kathy Barnett So the $137,000 Rick That's the ad buy.

"By one tenth of 1% ten year up ten 30 seconds ten year yield 2.86% spot gold 1824 the ounce West Texas intermediate crude up 3.4% one 1420 a barrel I'm Charlie pellet detro Matthew This is a Bloomberg business flash All right Charlie thank you Imagine watching your own election results from bed That's the likely reality tomorrow for John fetterman the democratic lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania is the democratic candidate for Senate there The FrontRunner posted a video from the hospital with his wife gisele may have saved his life listen to this Hey everybody it's John and gazelle as you can see we hit a little bump on the campaign trail It was on Friday I just wasn't feeling very well So I decided you know what I need to get checked out So I went to the hospital 'cause I was right as always Yes as always Fetterman 52 had previously canceled weekend campaign appearances without explanation And as I read on the terminal said he was able to reach Penn medicine Lancaster general hospital within minutes of first having symptoms on Friday He had a stroke The mild stroke but stroke He said caused by a clot from his heart being in an A-fib rhythm for too long This is where we start the conversation about a wild primary day that we're looking forward to tomorrow With Greg giro always a pleasure to spend time with Bloomberg government's elections expert Greg fetterman's a big tough dude but a stroke is serious business are voters talking about his health in this late stage of the campaign or is he expected to recover and we'll forget this somewhere down the line Yeah I think there are probably talking about it given such a big news to occur in the winning days of the campaign but I think partly veterans fetterman's lead in the polls over his democratic opponents led by representative Conor lamb was probably substantial enough where he's probably going to win the primary anyway But certainly health issues really underscores people's mortality as you mentioned is only 52 years old We've had news of a stroke by Maryland senator Chris van Allen who's three Earlier this year Ben ray lujan center from New Mexico suffered a stroke He's just as early 50s and the 50 50 70 average center is about 65 years old So this is certainly a serious news but I think federal probably still advanced the general election 6 foot 8 former college football player he's known for wearing Jim Schwartz and hoodies at his campaigns Like I said he's clearly kind of a tough guy but does that give him an edge here In not looking like someone who's on the other side of the hill and might need to worry about this going into a longer term arrangement Greg Certainly has this image of being kind of a looking like a non politician I followed him for years he ran for the Senate in 2016 and again he sort of had that casual look and he likes to campaign pro Trump counties overwhelmingly Republican counties of Pennsylvania and I think part of his strategy in the general election is to not only hold the typical democratic margins in areas like Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and do okay in the suburbs But maybe eat into those typical Republican margins in a heavily Republican areas I'm guessing if I had a stroke my wife would not call it a bump on the road but I realized we're on the campaign cycle here and life is a little different Greg talk to us about the other side of the Senate contest here the Republican match has been pretty wild and we've talked about this a bit because it includes a celebrity You've got Doctor Oz running here David McCormick a Wall Street celebrity But the story of Cathy Barnett has been quite remarkable It's conservative commentator we saw photos of her today in Washington on January 6th People have been digging through her record She's in many ways more trumpy than McCormick or Oz both of whom of course sought the Trump endorsement And it's interesting because people in a lot of cases Greg don't know a lot about her Doctor Oz and David McCormick were both asked about Kathy Barnett's history her personality her character by CBS News listen to their reactions We may not have that If we could get that in a moment that would be fantastic because they're questioning her strength as a candidate here and whether she could win a general election Greg is that something that could hold her back She's packing these rallies that she's holding The question is is she peaking a little bit too soon I was in Philadelphia on April the 29th April the 30th So just about two and a half weeks ago and I had my television on for better or worse during some TV shows I was just an innovation of commercials I did not see anything by Kathy Barnett it seemed to be mehmet Oz who was supported by a former president Donald Trump and Dave McCormack the former Bridgewater associates CEO It was them or their allies kind of pounding on each other And sometimes when you have races where you have two frontrunners beating up on each other sometimes a third candidate can kind of sneak up there by surprise But Barnett did a rise in the polls in the last 7 or ten days and she's gotten the attention of the frontrunners in that race So the question is can they arrest her rise in time to hold her off in the primary Listen to what Osama McCormick were telling CBS News about her over the weekend You've called Kathy.

Pennsylvania's Senate Race Will Stretch the Democratic Party Faithful

"One of the issues that we talked about having with the Democrats is they're policy issues of the far left. And basically it's very progressiveness. It's not matching up with a lot of the country. And in that you got fatter money lamb. John fetterman and Connor lamb for the most part who are running in this primary federman is way out in front right now. And federman is if you go to most I've talked to some democratic consultants, they would tell you that fetterman is going to be the harder one to try and keep this seat in some ways, although Pittsburgh Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and other parts of the state will go heavily for the current lieutenant governor. It is a race that is going to stretch the Democratic Party faithful. We'll see how the Pennsylvania is not a New York. It's not a California. It's not an Illinois. They're going to have to see how a fetterman would play, although he is one statewide. He's now going to have to play on a different stage. Conor lamb came out of the Pittsburgh area, a very well funded. He won the House seat. He has been one of the consistent, more moderate blue dog Democrats, if you would, which seemed to have played in the state of Pennsylvania very well, but so far it is just not. Fetterman's money advantage his notoriety and others have just played. And he is well on a double digit lead right now in this democratic primary. I do not see lamb overcoming that and it sets up an interesting race, whether it be federman and McCormick or Fatima in Oz, that one is going to be a one to race.

"The public as well. The public deserves to see more debates. Is there a little bit of self interest here. Like if you were in the senate which i know you know. That's that idea. It's a while off but if you were there and there was no filibuster that would be a reason for your democratic colleagues to be doing a lot more compromising with people like you. People who are considered more conservative. Democrats have used that are not as progressive others in your party. So do you see that too. You know it's it's hard to say. Because i think you know for the same reason we talked about the importance of bipartisanship majorities are gonna come ago in washington for both parties. And so yeah. I guess we're in the majority in. It's a narrow majority than than sure that could empower someone like me again. You know. I think i'm squarely in the middle of where the democratic party is. I resist the idea that i'm some. you know. Person on the on the right wing of it or whatever but I guess they could work that way i to me. The the more important motivation is that i continued experience. My constituents people. I talked to you about politics. Normal people who probably think about politics for less than five minutes a day. I just continue to experience them as being very disappointed and frustrated even cynical about what we do in washington. Dc not because of any particular issue but because it seems like we get nothing done. And i think one of the true reasons that we get nothing done is the way the filibuster has become this weapon for the forces of opposition and so again i'm only really talking about setting it aside for the purposes of voting rights and democracy at this point but if the choice was to get rid of it oh so you're you don't wanna blow it up entirely. Well i think what i would say is if the choice was to keep it how it is or get rid of it entirely. I would get rid of entirely. I'm a young person. There's a lot. I think we need to accomplish to to meet the challenges of of our era But my hope would be that if if it was set aside for the purposes of enacting h r one the voting rights act in doing what we need to do to to shore up the students of our democracy. We might be able to come to some understanding at some point of of how we're going to protect and promote the minority right to debate and maybe that becomes something that's not called a filibuster. Maybe it operates differently. But you know i would still be looking to do that because again. Both sides are going to be in the majority of the minority at some point but You know. I think you have to look at whether you can create a series of options and not just be in the binary of of habit or don't have it yet. The fear of few abolish the thing completely is that all of a sudden bills are just rocketing through a back and forth and back and forth and that's not great either right. I'm less fearful of that. Maybe because i'm younger than than some Because i still think it's phenomenally difficult to get things through the house senate and white house and then clear legal review later. I mean our our system still does set up quite a number of obstacles and again our our founders didn't design it to have the filibuster included so our founders set up this system Thinking that that was good enough to balance the interests. And i think it would probably be good enough to you know. I noticed you held a fundraiser recently. With joe manchin and of course that caught my attention because he's one of the major figures in the senate right now who said he's against getting rid of the filibuster and he's been pretty consistent on that. I wonder if you're having a conversation with him. What you would say from your perspective to just explain how you got where you are. And maybe sway him. Yeah i mean. I my conversations with him or or private so i i would just kind of say that that what i would say to anyone. Who was thinking about this. Is that the. The trump party has shown us who they are and they've shown us what they care about and what they care about is lying about january sixth and doing whatever else they can at all costs to please protect their leader donald trump. And so what. You did not hear in what i said. They cared about is preserving our democracy and democratic institutions. Which by the way is what. We all swore an oath to protect the thing. We weren't to protect us. Lawmakers was the constitution. It's the same oath. I swore as a marine officer as a prosecutor. something. I take really seriously and so. I think we've crossed the rubicon to the point where you know allowing the filibuster to remain A tool for them in their in their goal of just gumming up the works in washington so that these state legislatures out there can can try to basically steal our elections and take away people's right to votes i. I don't think we should allow that to happen. I really don't know the right. To vote is enshrined the constitution. The right to filibuster is not. There's an order of priorities. Here representative lamb. Thank you so much for joining me. Thanks for having me in for what you're doing. It was nice to talk to you. "You tell me about january. Sixth because you give this speech that night my point madam speaker is this enough has been done here today. Already to try to strip this congress of its dignity and these objectors don't need to do anymore. Can you describe that moment. It was a difficult moment for me. Because i came into office wanting to lower the temperature not raise it and wanting to make friends with republicans not attack them and so i don't. I don't think i had ever given a speech like that. That was so directly pointed at my republican colleagues and i was looking at many of them in the face on the other side of the chamber. And you said you you have been lying. We know that that attack today. It didn't materialize out of nowhere was inspired by lies. The same lies that you're hearing in this room tonight. Yeah because there were. And i just i really. I didn't know how else to describe it. And i thought it was important for anyone at home watching which it turned out a lot of people watching despite how late it was. I thought it was important for them to hear that that what motivated the attack. That day is trump's lie about the election. And that same lie was causing these people to come back into the chamber and vote to overturn the election and basically disregard people's votes and the members who were repeating. Those lies should be ashamed of themselves. Their constituents should be ashamed of them. Once the attack happened in those people came back into the chamber so determined to continue following the big line falling trump. i realized that it just wasn't about a point by point Exposition of the evidence anymore. It was about something a lot deeper and and more basic it was about you know putting the truth up front and center and and not allowing things like respect and bipartisanship to actually become something that hides the truth from from the people were supposed to represent and that was i guess that was a transition for me to have to have to prioritize telling the truth in very in very raw and stark forms over the You know the kind of practices of bipartisanship that. I had been working on for the last three years. Yeah a calling from. Virginia interrupted you and ask the era comments on lying. Be stricken from the record. Point of order said that relies on the store here today looking over this direction. I that those words be taken down may have a district disagreement on on matters. You spoke to them. You said the truth hurts. It hurts hurts them. It hurts this country. It hurts all of us but the fact is that the people have made this country work by not giving in. Go ahead jen. In order the gentleman perceive what happened then one republican member. I guess kinda crossed the center aisle. And i don't know what he was do. The order in the have there was there was a bit of a melee My good friend. Colin allred Who's a former linebacker for tennessee. Titans basically stood up and stop them. All in their tracks will clear this chamber. The gentlemen will clear that chamber but it was. It was interesting to see you know. They were also offended and emotional about an attack on their their character. And i just i was just stayed in their thinking. I wish you could be as offended and emotion as emotional about the attack on our capital. That just happen because that again is is rooted in the same lie that you are telling right now. It was not an easy thing to to set aside the bipartisanship in that moment and talk about what was really happening but it was really happening and first things first if we can't agree to defend the capital if we can't agree to have a peaceful transition of power the rest of it you know doesn't doesn't really matter. I was looking into the eyes of these people that i pray with on thursday mornings and We were really at an impasse But that that is where their party is on this particular issue right now and i think we just have to continue to tell the truth about it and you know the the the message. I really wanted to get across that night. Was the idea that these people want to gain power so badly that they were willing to kill a police officer that they were willing to gouge out the eyes of a police officer that they were willing to. I mean think about what it would take to hold up a can of hair spray and sprayed in the face of police officer like that is how bad people who follow trump wants to gain power in the society and if we don't want it more badly than them they will gain power but the differences when we want something badly we have to channel it through these institutions themselves. We have to become better small de-democrats we have to be better at at winning elections the right way and upholding the rule of law. And and really you know honoring the system that that we've inherited as made our country what it is but that's a lot of work and it's difficult and people have busy lives and we've been through a pandemic and so that's that's why i think we need to keep this front and center too. So people understand how motivated we have to be in. What's at stake. It's interesting you say you pray with your colleagues on the other side of the island new. You're catholic because one of the things that stood out to me about that speech you give january. Sixth is that you said flat out. This is not a speech for the other people in the room with me. This is for the people at home. This is for voters essentially to just name. What's going on here and to me. It felt a little bit lake. You'd almost given up on talking to some of your colleagues on the other side of the aisle because you felt like that's not working anymore. That's right i mean. I think that's kind of what i'm saying on this particular issue. That was the the moment where i realized if you could witness it an attack on your country's capital like that and you knew at that point. I think we only knew that the one woman had died. But we knew that that woman had died We knew all the pain and tragedy of that day. If you could actually come back into the chamber and in your role as representative continuing to endorse the same big lie that caused that attack and continue to be complicit in it You know i'm not a fool. I know that you're beyond negotiating at that point and I felt that it was my job to represent my constituents by by just saying that that's what was going on in that these were the stakes in this was the kind of deeper truth of the moment And look i'm i'm someone that lives by. I think abraham lincoln really captured this well and i- i quoted his speech on election night year. Which is that you know at the civil war which is even worse conflict. That will we're talking about both sides prayed to the same god you know. Both price sides read the same bible invoked his aid against the other In the prayers of neither were answered in full they couldn't be And so you know when. I was looking at those guys that night and since then in the same same prayer i big knowledge that you know that we both we both do pray to the same god but you.
