NY Governor Kathy Hochul's Strange Interpretation of 'Separation of Church and State'

"Is talk about a female politician who may amazingly could be worse than her predecessor. This is the current incumbent in new york in the gubernatorial offices. Kathy o'connell who has a very strange interpretation of separation of church and state cop three. My default position is to ask people. Please do this. This is why it's been proven to be saved the vaccines been out a long time. Now there are not legitimate religious exemptions because the leaders of all the organized religions have said. There's no legitimate reason and we're gonna win that in court in a matter of days and so this is so unnecessary and i just want to appeal to the individuals to know that your coworkers wind this don't make the burden heavier on them as well as a catholic. I miss the pope saying that there are no legitimate reasons for not taking the vaccine. Is this going to backfire. She's calling in the national guard. Man hospitals give us your take on this latest disaster in new york. Yeah you ask the amazing question last segment about what happens if biden Ends up not making it to the end. We could get something much worse and and this is what's happening in new york as much of a clown as cuomo was and i do think at least a mile danger to the women around him. was an certainly seniors around them. It's the this lady could be worse as one of the most hideous things they can be said by a christian Assuming she is one but it's to say that if you don't get injected with this medicine than Basically god doesn't love.

"To federal funds established after the attacks of september eleven. Two thousand and one have paid around twelve billion dollars over the years. The money went to first responders. Michael o'connell responded to the world trade center as a firefighter on nine eleven and spent the next few weeks working at ground zero five years later he got sick. I know the exact date. It was december thirty first. Two thousand six new year's eve. He went to bed that night filling healthy but when he woke up the next morning i literally had swollen limbs swollen ankles all my joints were inflamed by body kind of blew up to like twice the size. It was a pulmonologist figured out that he had a rare autoimmune disease called sarcoidosis that was attacking his skin and joints and told him he'd gotten it from breathing in toxins. The material that responders and survivors were exposed to when the towers collapsed was quite toxic. Dr michael crane treats a lot of nine eleven first responders through the world trade center health program clinic at mount sinai so huge huge burning buildings collapsing. Everything inside is burning and it collapses down into a pile and then an enormous. Dust cloud a lot of firefighters. Police officers and others at ground zero started getting sick almost immediately. I with what they called the world trade center cough then. Ptsd and depression. And eventually years later cancers this exposure has a really really long tail anyone who develops any kind of illness linked to nine eleven can get free healthcare through the world trade center health program but michael bearish a lawyer for nine eleven survivors says there are likely a lot of people dealing with nine eleven related health problems. I need to pretend like I'm some kind of alpha or some kind of bad boy. And at the time, the mistake I made was I put on different masks. And I would try them out on women on dates. I would be the bad boy. I would be alpha male. I would be I had a date once with a woman had a huge crush on and she liked outdoorsy rugged guys. So I pretended to be some outdoorsy rugged guy and started making up stories about swimming with sharks. "So you're aiming at a target and the target's constantly moving and yet somehow the bookstore lands you know two weeks before the movie hints. Hbo max like that's impossible to me. I will never understand how lucky i was to have the timing of that sync up the way that it did. I mean it's great because you know it works out because when your book lands. It's really the hot topic. If people are talking about people are like and then people who don't know what is going on it's a quick reference guide to well. This is the story about this. Oh okay i can read this. I can go through it. it's funny. You're talking about like the uk I learned. I wasn't sure if it would work but i was able to actually purchase my four k blu ray of the snyder cut on uk. Early because i have friends in the uk who are posting things about it and it never made an announcement For physical release here in the states still have out and you know part of that. They won't because that's part that. Hbo max brand where they want people to go to or the wait a year or two down the road to do it and i'm still a i like having my physical media. Never no storm comes internet issues. Whatever you know. I have my watch but also we were talking about this. My wife and i were about you know digital files they can alter and change. And then that's it you can't but having that printed this similar to a book like this is printed a have it. I'll go lock it in a vault because i've waited. You know this movie. I heard about allies. Look in two thousand sixteen. They start filming. Yup you know. I wasn't litter on. Yes it's there okay. Good very nice. It's packed with everything else you know. We're trying to move but having a know. Look at my son. I'm like when you were one years old. Your sister wasn't born yet. We watched the trailer for this movie. You know at. "And i would look forward to reading that book just to see because coming your way. Yeah i mean it would be. It'd be great. 'cause one of my favorite books i am. I'm blanking on the author. And i totally forgot until you're talking with called the the billion dollar batman i read about eight years ago. Those is about you know. Similar to what you're talking about batmans journey and bob kane's history and bill fingers history. Who did what what happened. In the financial success of batman as a brand you know how bob came profited and what he did to how he would hire other people like ghost. Writers and artists do batman stuff. And but he didn't you know take the credit or all that it was a very fascinating fascinating story in book I had bought it digitally about eight years ago. So it'd be interesting. Read for you some time if you ever come down johnstown succumbing back around. We appreciate the work of the people who took the time out to push for tax film. Appreciate people of note and credit much like yourself being involved in creating this book to tell the story because when you were working on this book you had no idea. The film was coming. You recruiting this book and it just happened to work out that your book was released shortly before the film But if it hadn't been released this this is a way to say. Hey there's so much going on around this film what's true what's not look. This is what i've done from a from journalism. I'm not just some blogger out there. Posting hate warner brothers loves zak. You're like homework. I've done the research you know. This is the story and it's appreciated from fans and even you know general audience who may not read the book just being able to be like okay. There's legitimacy to what this whole snyder push was. There's a story here. I mean a lot of people have compared to the donner cut of superman to very much. So which took twenty five years to happen. you know. people don't realize how long and not that fans were pushing for that but like every once in a while that topic would come up and and they're like well you know there's a longer cut or richard daughter filmed a lot of footage when he was doing the first superman movie. And and you know almost casualites. Like i didn't even. I didn't even know that i didn't realize that there was a different thing. No you're right. I just wanted even without knowing whether the snyder was coming there was enough really cool stuff happening in the movement and there was enough drama associated with what had happened.

"It wasn't a altered film. It was deleted film and i thought that was really strong. Because there's so much that's different than even the things that are similar are so different But when i was on amazon. I was looking. I saw some other things that were listening to your authors page. Did you talk about any of those things or oh. That's a different author. That's what i wondered looking through it. And i couldn't tell for sure author spell that out there to him because you might as well. Yeah i was like it feels very different. But it's under his name. So i just kind of ask him if he wants to talk about it. Okay if not then. And i've tried to get amazon to separate because i'm sure that that guy is associated with his philosophical books either but yes no. Those are not line i am. I am working on a second book as we speak. And it's dedicated to bring up spiderman. Spider-man is my all time favorite character and this is going to trace his sorta journey through through hollywood and the ups and downs. That have come with a rainy films. And how they came to a halt and marc. Webb's trip through. And then the hand passing the baton to marvel and sony trying to cooperate together. So i'm going to explore all of that in another book. That's probably gonna hit bookstores in twenty twenty two. If all things go according to plants. Well i mean would be fastening if you know the the cannon film the james cameron stories of how that came you know then the changes that occurred just in the filmmaking process my my kids are big spiderman fans and we are talking about. I told my wife. I used to have a production photo from the first ramey film where he had the actual web shooter. Oh really okay. There's a scene where he's in his room and he you know he's and he had the actual web shooter and then of course when the film came out he had the organic right. It's it's really interesting. You know those little stories that you can and choose and learn about and spiderman has just as much history in a more condensed period of time than say superman and some of the other characters absolutely do and a lot of people who worked on that those ramey films I got a chance to interview john. Dykstra who is really figuring out the visual language like the of how to move spiderman through and john dykstra worked on a new hope. You know like he got an oscar. Win for for doing the originals. Are wars like he's as pioneers by gets and here. He is trying to apply. You know how. Do i bring a character like spiderman off the page and into live action in a way that looks credible. A wonky cartoon type character. So it's really fascinating stories getting I always thought that spiderman man was a great character and always felt like it was as if someone looked at in this community or not if they took jimmy olsen in superman put together on the my do see comparison. I was like he has a lot of the same aspirations of both pincus. Firemen is my favorite marvel character. If i had to.

"Yeah inherited a chance to just put his capper You know my wife explained we watch ministerial was you know you have film. Man is still very much a callow type. Phil clarke is trying to figure himself out as who clark is. Superman is trying to figure himself out. Who superman is and then we get to be. We don't really a chance to explore. Clark through interactions with other people as much because most of the people he interacted with was like perry and lois. And when he's with lois he's just himself and then even superman we don't get to see a lot of interactions with other people as far as like talking to them or anything like that other than just maybe a quick comment here there and i feel like you know having that third. Come to really like who. This character is Getting you know him to the characters journeys he's embraced who he is You know one of the biggest things for me was insect. Snyder's justice league when he comes out in the suit in he flies off to help them was. That's his hairdresser. Accepting who he is you know he. He was very much pushed to come and reveal himself because odd. This is now being brought back his second chance. He could've stayed dormant and done nothing but he chose once again to don his his alien heritage standard superman and to go out there and i feel like that's when he wreck he knew who he was and not getting a film that lets him. Tell that story. Right is heartbreaking. it is. I know it's it's lost potential. That was always going to be something difficult. When i talked to a lot of people in this matter movement as we were leading up to the potential of that movie's release and i kind of ask them like. How do you guys feel about the fact that if you get the snyder cut the that might be it. You know that the studios going to give you the movie that you've been asking them see but it might not lead to anything else and for the most part everyone was like that's fine. I'm okay with that. I just wanna see zacks vision for snack for justice league movie but it's really hard now after seeing it to not say what you just said exactly which is now. I wish they got a chance to continue. Yeah continuance some form where we got you know henry. Superman getting a good send-off A good kind of closer like it. You know we've heard about what zacks visions for number two and number three were. Even if i didn't get that just something more. i would loved to seen super main pike. Dark side yes. It would have been back and then we're not getting that new new gods movie supposedly because of the snyder cut killed the new gods movie.

"Why you keep that tone But it the compares that kind of make to it is You mentioned spiderman being as huge as like by the time they got to mark web's second spiderman movie the amazing spiderman two there was a lot of studio meddling going on in that case and there a very small. Push to get the release the web cut of that movie out there. I would love to see that. I want to but by that point. We'd already gotten four spiderman movies. Right fans aren't as furious because they're like well. I got a bunch of other spiderman movies. So you have other others. That was your justice league movie and and people couldn't get past that and i don't blame them i wouldn't either. Yeah it's his. It's get another film of all those characters you know it's not like i said just one character especially where it's like batman or spider man. You're like giving a few years. They'll reboot it. Yeah you know. It's kind of stunning. That there's not a justice league movie on the radar at you. Know at dc. Like how are they not planning on at least another version of the justice league match your bread and butter. That should be your crowning jewel. My head cannon. Because i i like. I have this. I want everything to kind of work and where you know. Fans and people have kind of picked apart. This doesn't work. What i've done in my head cannon k. Role with me here already. So here's how it goes. Ministerial wonder woman. Bbs suicide squad zack. Snyder justice league five crisis. Because i was in the crisis movie or the tv event. It connected then you have now the post crisis dc movies which would be the justice league because one of those wants that to be canon akron birds of prey. Suzanne wonder woman eighty four. Thus suicide squad. That's how my head can. Explains the tonal. Changes story inconsistencies. That don't line up with what was done before like that. That's how i view. Everything is throw crisis in there. That's why wonder woman in eighty four feels like a little bit of a different wonder woman that we've seen in her. First standalone film does yet very post-crisis. So that's how i've made it. So i feel like okay when i watch these movies. I'm like i'm not like why is this different wyoming post-crisis post okay. I like it. That's that's a pretty good broach. I'd just have to make things work because all all you know you end up in those nerd geek conversations of well in this movie. They established this. But in this. Kind of mike yeah. You're right but it can be looked at some post rises. But they want their cake and eat it too. They want to be able to do Walking phoenix joker movie. And not have it. Connect anything they want to be able to do matt reeves and robert pattinson without having to connect anything you know. It's it's hard to do cinematic universe and also do those sort of elle's world projects i mean. I don't need everything the like. Connect where i have to have. Everyone appear in every film but just that idea that the worlds are connected is a nice feeling that we could see the together. We could see these characters You know i'm excited for the batman. Time like it's sad that i perceive a future. We're not seeing these characters again and getting to see how all of them together would become know like the really. Well done team that we want for the justice league Yep or even and recap Showing up in black adam..

"Dedicated time and then that was completely altered and changed in what was given was such a lower calibre. Just from that point. I would be like we'll. The artist deserves at least to have his vision. Seen as best as possible That was one thing from the whole. you know. The snyder cut thing was even. If you're not going to step back and look at all the images and all these scenes and things have been released. That weren't in that film and just think there's something wrong here That what you're given doesn't feel it doesn't feel i mean first of all the movie didn't feel like the way zach with direct. I'm very surprised. I in my head can i just referred to it as an alan smith film And i'm very surprised that that hasn't gotten surprised. At zack's name was even attached as directed by on it. Just in how you know the rules and all that work with you is it. You can definitely see a lot of scenes that have been that are reshoot but definitely retooled scenes in seattle. And i would i would push like. Please remove my name from from that film well and that they're a couple of elements throughout the course of the story of the snyder cut. That had one or two things happened. I'm not quite sure that the fans would've fought quite as hard to get. It released one one. I think absolutely is zack's lawyer. Most loyal fans were furious. His name was on that horrible. Cut you know and and if it's if it were wedenesday movie if it was credited as we movie. I'm not sure that they would have been as upset. You know like it. It was like an insult to the fact that it was axed movie. And the other element of to that is that the actual cut ended up being as bad as it is. It's a sloppy and and poorly thought out and really just slapped together as it is because i was made the argument that if if the actual cutter justice came out and it was okay you know like not great but but passable than i think fifty percent of the people who are in the sadakat fight would have been like all right. It wasn't zacks vision but it wasn't terrible and it would have just moved on to the next one woman. Nineteen ninety four they would have just have going with the dc universe you know but it's because it was as horrible as it was that it compelled the people to go back and take a look at the earlier trailers and say like am i not going crazy was not promised something that at least looks decent by that point at the san diego comic con Trailer which two and a half hours a two two and a half minutes long another longer trail put out. This is your opportunity to see them in live action. You know paired up for the very first time and what you get is that actual cut you know that the studio decided this is good enough you know. Just take this and be happy with it. So it's such an insult you know it's really a slap in the face who supported these these films and invested in these characters. And i wanted to sort of document that disrespect. It's a unique to the community. Quite often you know really aren't would would would enjoy So as i started to really piece together all of the things that had gone wrong. I realized that there is a much bigger story going on here that could potentially propel a block and then the next step to it was. My wife was the one who sort of said like okay. I the the film element of it is really interesting. And i get why you're interested in all of that but she's like i'm way more interested in the human element of the the movement of the people who are spending all their time on social media and which hashtag and and raising money for a fast p asked. Once i started to figure out that holes i was like. Oh there's a great great story. And truly i mean the reason i'm in journalism. I placed the reason why i love movies much. "Dealing with the impacts of such a pain demek would have been factored in but this again the in theory and in practice as we all know are two completely different things. So in terms from an Irish perspective, yeah, it's it's often being joked that the brakes list continuity planning substitute breaks it for covert action, and we were we were in we were in a way I suppose a more prepared situation sadly. It is something that I think we wouldn't have wanted to because obviously breaks. It is something from an Irish perspective that all levels be it'd be it from government political Civil Society businesses trade associations interest groups sector organizations breaks it as something that nobody here in Ireland wanted but we have to accept it and deal with this and mitigates and try and mitigate the worst impacts the job. It is undoubtedly going to cause for the island of Ireland and as we are seeing with the deadlines looming, it hasn't gone away. It isn't going to go away. And unless we continue to escalate our preparedness and our preparation and our Innovation to adapt and to think Faith flexibly outside the box on on how we are going to have to work and and live and do business days to post brakes world. The challenges are going to be great. But thankfully, I mean, I'm a member of the Department of Foreign Affairs and trade breaks at stakeholder Forum which brings together all various stakeholders and government the Civil Service political parties. The Machinery of the state is working very cohesively to prepare and to ensure in so far off. "About it from Mandy Connell we are back the intrepid over there in G. over there over here you out there listening doing whatever you're doing out there you know before the break we were talking before the president so rudely interrupted us just getting he's the president he can do that it's whatever we were talking about the upcoming presidential race I gotta tell you day one upside of the corona virus and I mean this is that it has given us some respite from this campaign this may end up being the most glorious campaign in the history of campaigns because let's think about it now we only know that Donald Trump is going to be out there he's on TV every day he's talking right now talking about the paycheck to paycheck protection program all but Joe Biden is nowhere he had a virtual town hall last Saturday night when Dave everyone in America was home and I I from what I understand he garnered about five thousand people that is virtual town hall and tonight he's got a women's virtual town hall ostensibly to talk about the impact of coronavirus on women which is hilarious because men are dying of corona virus at a much higher rate than women right now like fifty seven percent of the deaths of the men so we're gonna have a a town hall on the impact of coronavirus but the real reason is because Hillary Clinton is the quote surprise guest tonight where she is gonna offer her endorsement to Joe Biden so Hillary and it's showing Hillary Hillary and Joe Joe in Ellery it has a lot of experience with that cheating on your wall well now Dave rich you'll be an expert yeah so it remains to be seen whether he's going to be asked directly about the accusations by terror read that was the other thing we were talking about she alleges the back in nineteen ninety the early nineteen nineties I don't know if it was ninety two or ninety three that he pinned her up against a Senate wall in it in a kind of a a place that you are not a lot of people go to and put his hand up her skirt and sexually assaulted her it's a pretty significant accusation she did not come forward at the time because she did not want to derail his career because she was working in his office and there's a good progressive she did not want to cause the nice man who sexually assaulted her any problems well she was a Marianne Williamson supporter than she was a Bernie Sanders supporter and then she has come forward with these accusations not only come forward the accusations business insider talked to two separate people you also verified her account for back in nineteen ninety three one of them is needed Biden supporter and watching I just wouldn't check Dave just to see on the break about what Alyssa Milano member Alyssa Milano is like one of the heads of hash tag me too she's also a big Joe Biden supporter do you know what Alyssa Milano said about this is Dave I'm glad you're sitting down I could see you sitting down so take a deep breath she said that she would hate to see the career of a man she's known for fifteen years destroyed without a thorough investigation of anything of the sort so she just doesn't she's can't believe that he would do this but all women should be believed she's being absolutely true for ash on Twitter for that right now now the flip side of this rose McGowan who is one of the first woman to come out and accused Harvey Weinstein of rape she was she maintains that she was sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein she has been at the forefront of this movement she is absolutely calling the Democratic Party out for not treating terror read the same way that they treated Christine lazy for Jesus entirely consistent in her view Melissa Moore a Lotto is not she is Alyssa Milano is not being consistent I think they're hiring Hillary for the campaign as a matter on any of these women she has a lot of experience in in deep Sirianni where men were accused her husband and children now anyone who accuses Joe Biden I'm convinced that's why she's here tonight was checked in with Hillary said if you drag a dollar Paula Jones is that you get when you drag a dollar through a trailer park was that James carvel I can't I can't I think it was James Carville actually grounds cargo yeah Ellery Clinton was the head of the bimbo eruptions squad though for has been for many years and so maybe you're right maybe she's coming in to do to do damage control on this I think there's a good possibility that it's going to be I'm in tune in tonight it could be entertaining okay well then I'm going to assign you the role of having a full report on this I have to teach my last podcast in class tonight so I can't watch so you you've now been assigned officially Dave and you can't just walk out after five minutes you have to stick it out Dave are you sure you want this assignment and there's no there's no battle pay for this no comment I'm not sure at all but yeah well right now you're in and you heard it mark the tape Dave said he then so they can watch this tonight but now it's going to be very oh by the way the other thing Alyssa Milano said was that if the accusations were credible surely the mainstream media would cover it she actually said that she didn't think they were credible because they you know mainstream media hasn't shown any interest you know it's it's it's funny because the Democrats and the media you know they're lockstep together and it's not a conspiracy of any kind it's good it's kind of like in the end I think Mike Rosen's use this example one birds fly in formation no one taught them how to do that they're not conspiring nature's do it naturally that's how they behave naturally and that's how the media is behaving naturally yeah you're right about that well I think there's some bass like talking points you know conventions we don't we don't have that on the right maybe they have it on the left I don't think so but everybody believes the same thing so that's the problem everybody and and my biggest issue with media bias is not so much the way stories are covered but how we decide which stories get covered at all that's where the underlying bias becomes a huge problem and this story is a perfect example of that we have several methods of demonstrating their bias the wrong word smiths and they used a precise word H. in order to convey the idea of that even if they don't say it right out front they they my choice of stories which ones they run which ones they don't run cutting stories in the middle yeah our and then having all the but the the information that way help yeah the accused in their story I have I have the eliminate that by putting it on page sixteen which no one ever goes to people read the headline in the first paragraph usually and that's where they do stop them well here's the thing the Washington post was reporting on some of these accusations and after publishing a story about this a reporter noticed that the Washington post inserted two words into a quote from a police report you think that would be pretty straightforward if you're taking a quote from a police report you just copy it down and surely you don't need to add words to a story to make it but this is what they said this is the correction that The Washington Post had run correction this story as originally published misstated the language in a police report about terror REITs complaint that version of the story quoted the document as saying read quote disclosed that she believes she was the victim of a sexual assault the document does not contain the words she believes this version has been corrected so they added disclosed that she believes she was the victim of a sexual assault instead of what it was she disclosed she was the victim of a sexual assault it gets far softer it's like you know I'm not sure maybe I like I believe it's a totally different thing the word believes that's what I mean yeah I say their word smiths yeah they use the exact words that will either put you in doubt or put you in a direction that they want you to be here correct a hundred percent so you know so I don't think surprises me from the media absolutely nothing I it's sad though because at the same time I'm genuinely concerned about the death of newspapers and journalism because guys when they serve their proper function it is it is us and the media against people who would abuse power that that's when the media serving its proper function it should not matter whether that person abusing power is a Democrat or Republican or libertarian or Green Party candidate should not matter the media should always be invested in ferreting out wrong regardless of who is perpetrating it and we are so far from that mission and they're doing it to themselves I think this goes all the way back to Richard Nixon the media just despised personally and I think you know the during his impeachment during almost everything he did in his administration the media was after sometimes fairly many times unfairly and I think ever since then they just up their game into now there's there's no recognition of journalism at all yep we attract articles I I I don't know where that stops you know somebody sent me an email today and said the reporters from the O. A. N. network which is the one American network come to these press conferences and they ask good questions to elicit good information and they're not trying to get that gotcha and this woman was like I don't know much about this network if you don't know the one American news network is an unabashedly conservative perspective network unabashedly there I would liken them to the M. S. N. B. C. of the right because they are never going to report something that is unflattering for Donald Trump they're not they're simply not going to do that now that doesn't mean that they don't do some good reporting you know they does it and guess what some good reporting happens on MSNBC I can't give an example right now but I'm sure there is I don't watch the station enough there's a very decided pro trump bias to the one American news network but I think they're pretty unabashed about it but they have been complicit in spreading some conspiracy theories so you know like everything else do a little more investigation before you decide it's gospel truth yes Dave you are here Unifor sample of I got your question at one of these press search this was a live via Olympian nosy of by New York magazine she asked the following question if an American president loses more Americans over the course of six of the last six weeks then died in the entirety of the Vietnam War does he deserve to be reelected yeah and they're right after these days she said when did you stop beating your wife Mister president when did you stop beating your wife ari Fleischer remark he had a tweet on that he said it's a clown question it's common questions like this that can make the briefing a waste of time the only point of that question was to provoke correct learn anything new not provide information of yours the point was to get under trump's skin could just see potus rose above it and didn't take the bait I will say it was it was an embarrassment of question and it was designed to make her the story mission accomplished her Twitter feed by the way Dave I went to her Twitter feed on her Twitter feed is all her re tweeting people to compliment her you guys I I I gotta tell ya I get lovely compliments from people and and I appreciate each and everyone of them but I would not re tweet a compliment unless there were some valid purpose also in the tweet what is the reason I would never retweet that unless it was to be sarcastic you know but I I just what our household it just everything about her she wants other people to read it and see how great she is so that should get a raise yeah it's really hello areas when you think about it what what has become of journalism Edward R. Murrow which is spinning in his grave it's just a sad state of affairs yep sad sad state of affairs when we get back I want to talk to my friend Dr Gerry from downtown's health care couple things one he like so many other people in his field have had to shut down to reevaluate their entire business operation with very little guidance from the state talk about that but more importantly we're talking about two things number one you don't need to go to the E. R. if you have physical pain meaning your back hurts something like that we're gonna talk about that plus there are ways to boost your immune system that are significant really significant we're gonna talk about that as well plus much other stuff that's coming up next and Susan which can tell us what's coming up in her newscast first so earlier this hour we heard a little bit from the president talking about the second round of the paycheck protection program it was heard from one of the gals who got the funding from the first round in her business in it from her at two o'clock until we newsradio eight fifty AM in ninety four one FM right now there is a lot to consider when selling a home home equity is high housing inventory is down and interest rates are at an all time low but.

"Few minutes here in the middle of the day I got a few things on the blog that we did not get to you earlier if you have not checked out the blog please go to gateway newsradio dot com click on the many Connell page and look for today's headline which I thought was quite pithy if I do say so myself a sub shop owner a rabbi and a comedian on the show for a Wednesday of course I first I'd walk into a bar but that I could really justify that I don't know if that was disrespectful do you think rabbis gets sick of always being part of the beginning of a joke Dave no I don't think so along with that okay good good because it's meant that way it's certainly not meant in any kind of mocking way anyway on the blog today I have a couple things one I got a lot of emails from people who bank with Wells Fargo for their small business banking needs and man oh man were they angry last week because a lot of small business owners more than one multiples for different businesses have reached out to me to say look on Friday I got an email from Wells Fargo saying Hey we're getting ready to do this on Monday morning I applied was told the money was already gone and what Wells Fargo has culpability for in my opinion is that they did not inform their bank customers that they had a ten billion dollar cap on loans and they were assuming that the federal government was going to count these PPP paycheck paycheck protection act loans against that cap and so they kind of screwed over a lot of their small business accounts because these loans are gotten through your bank and if you are not banking at another bank they won't even consider your loan application so Wells Fargo really messed up with the people that are either emailing me bot the federal government is now indicated by the way Wells Fargo has a ten billion dollar cap because of past malfeasance they they brought it on themselves so it's not like this random cap that everybody had to deal with no Wells Fargo knew what their cap was they knew was lower and they didn't tell business owners to say Hey maybe you want to reach out to somebody else because we don't know so that's a big black eye for Wells Fargo right now however the feds have now decided that they are not going to count these PPP loans against that cap so Wells Fargo should I hope I've already been reaching out to their people and let them know that you know they now have the ability to get more involved the program yes Dave and also the federal government announced another two hundred fifty million to that PSU P. program hasn't been officially awarded yet but that's that's in the works yeah so those of you with Wells Fargo as your bank that are frustrated I would I would definitely reach back out to your banker excuse me I've got pick up cell because now they've got more money alone or something but what a disaster I mean what a disaster and I I asked everybody who email me I'm like you gotta move your banking now and they all said yes so we'll see what happens when all this is said and done that's on the blog today I have an article about that that goes it at greater length about why Wells Fargo I had that cap at what you know it's just a lot of information in this article that I put on today guess what's made a comeback plastic bags well ray the old nemesis plastic bags have made a return because he gave all plastic bags that destroys the world all of a sudden this savior yeah because it has no germs on it and reusable bags are cesspools of humanity they are full of all kinds of germs and nastiness so now stores are now saying oh sorry you can't bring your reusable bags and you have to bring plastic bags or you have to just carry your groceries out one at a time a few stores I shop at natural food natural grocers vitamin cottage and they don't do bags there they have boxes but you're you know you're like five bottles of vitamins you need a box where my like the ninety eight pound weakling but can you imagine Dave the same kind of people who are kind of obsessive about their reusable bags are the same kind of people that are going to listen to a government edict because they believe that this is going to this is necessary but I'm sure it's some kind of like Sophie's choice for them kill the earth kill humanity for some of them I'm sure they're still using the reusable bags because they rather documentary than the earth I think the plastic bag bans and extra charges across the country are going to go away really quickly yeah and I don't see when they're going to come back because you know we've heard things about a second wave maybe in December now we don't know but we certainly don't want to get rid of our plastic bags for the foreseeable future now so they are making a comeback in cities all over the country that previously banned them which I think is super funny this is a really really really cool story that I think is the best way to handle a colossal disappointment and that is over a million pounds of food was just donated to Colorado food banks by the Olympic training center in Colorado springs that is cool yeah a time actually a ton yeah yeah a hundred twenty five thousand dollars worth of food will is going to be donated to food banks in all thirty one counties of southern Colorado and it's because it was food that was going to feed Olympic training athletes and now they push the Summer Games off another year because it's my understanding in in somebody who may have a better understanding of the OTC can correct me but before the games all of the athletes kind of converge to finish off their Olympic training they're they're not necessarily there all the time there's some athletes that were there all the time but as the games get closer they kind of converged on the springs and all of that food that was going to feed our Olympic athletes is now being donated to food banks and I just think that's sad because we're not gonna have the Olympics and inevitably someone who would have gone to the Olympics this year will not get to go next year because they have an injury or someone else speaks at the right time so arbitrary you know speaking of baseball we talked yesterday for a hot minute about the fact that Major League Baseball is in talks with the major league players union about how to save this season and for those of you don't understand the make up of Major League Baseball it is a multi billion dollar operation every year so they are not going to walk away from a multi billion dollar situation unless they absolutely have to so they're looking for alternatives it may sound crazy but I gotta say and I am a baseball fan I mean I am a true baseball fan but the the argument could be made that it would be phenomenal for the American psyche if we get out baseball right now I'm not going to the game sitting in the stadium having a hot dog baseball but just having a sport that we can all kind of divert our attention with and baseball frankly could use the shot in the arm just family wise fanbase Weiss so they're trying to balance all of these various kind of parts and one of the things that was bandied about was playing all of the games in Arizona Arizona has thirty ballparks they do a lot of spring training there they have one professional regular season stadium in Phoenix but they would do seven inning games and they would do triple headers in the stadium with no fans in the stadium if you're a traditionalist was I so like I mean what what what what your thoughts on that well I just I just want baseball Major League Baseball game that can be played I want to see if and by the way our our our our our our minds have changed I think over this in many ways one of the ways mine has changed I don't care if it's four hours yeah they can be as long as you stay out all day L. watcher well that's actually her games a lot one games well there was a magic any three games or one day Dave yeah thank you you literally have a triple header every day of the week it would be amazing it would be amazing this is gonna be so hot in Arizona that's the problem well there's a lot of problems with this idea the first is that major league players would essentially end managers and all the teammates and the broadcasters would essentially be quarantined for four and a half months well this season with and I don't know if you guys have noticed this but there's a pandemic going on all over the country so these baseball players alike yeah not gonna leave my family for four and a half months so we'll see where this ends up but there's a lot of money at stake and players are not getting paid for the season if it doesn't happen they get like a hundred and forty grand and then the rest of it you know it's I'm not real sympathetic to their financial world in this band here's the thing Dave I'm sympathetic to the guys in triple a ball who are on the bubble who are not making a lot of money I mean they're not making a lot of money at all or the guys like you know the rookies that just got called up and they may have a good okay contract but not great not it's not a great enough contract to give them financial security right now anybody anybody who plays Major League Baseball is on a roster yeah they're making a ton of money yeah but you know what I'm saying they're they're not gonna make it this year so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of compromise but I wouldn't be surprised if there was baseball in Arizona in the middle of July and August in an outdoor stadium I'd be pretty shocked there every game we have to be at night you couldn't play until it got dark I mean you literally could not play until nine you know so that's one o'clock on the east coast I just lot of unanswered questions about that but I'm kind of aids which it's just too early and I just was Paul what they're gonna do we don't know when this thing's going to end and so we really can't plan anything but I think something will be done with Major League Baseball I was encouraged though that Hey we get to watch the NFL draft one yeah yeah so I'd like to get into for two days I I I I've gotten so out of NFL football you know watching it every day and was being traded well you know that kind of thing that I miss it so much I just got the draft will be wonderful to watch you'll see all those players should get the excitement back up and of course it will be done in a safe manner now line but yeah anything in of spelled the get me back to any semi normal see I'm all for days like I don't care if guys get the wrong place just kidding I went over there rob rob is they'll give it as a black screen but he's stomping around your in your attic aren't you close I'm in my basement excellent even better so you been banished to the basement for that so it's safer for everyone yeah we we feel good about that as well we're gonna see if Brandon shows up today tomorrow it's Charles Harrington Elster please tell me I'm right we're going to try and get some sense of normalcy back on the show because how many times can you say stay inside where amassed blah blah blah so we're bringing Charles back on tomorrow and if anything really important breaks we will let you know A. Dow nasdaq so on and so forth are down about a third from there high before this all started before I take you through some of the numbers and perhaps you want to call in and tell us what do you look at your four oh one K. and how much of it you've taken there there's something called market capitalization and very simply that's the the aggregate value of all of the stocks that trade in our various stock exchanges you've got the number of shares outstanding in total and then if you will an average of what the share prices are and that gives you the market capitalization an individual company let's say with a thousand shares outstanding and the stock price of five dollars simply numbers but easy to keep track of their total market cap would be five thousand dollars five dollars a share times a thousand shares now when you talk about the the hundreds of millions of shares that are out there and all of the stocks you take a look at the current market price of each of them that gives your market capitalization all right the market capitalization of of all of our stocks was about thirty trillion dollars just the several weeks ago and now it's down to about twenty trillion dollars what a one third hit in the market capitalization in your particular case let's say you had a portfolio of stocks and when you checked it back in early February your stock portfolio was worth over five hundred thousand dollars and now you're stuck with no when you calculate your net worth you you looked at Europe the value of your house other assets that you had a savings accounts things like that you came up with some number of of net worth let's say it was a million dollars and that now since you've lost let's say up one third of the what was the market value of your common stocks and that was five hundred thousand dollars to begin with and one third of that is about a hundred and sixty hundred seventy thousand dollars that you've just lost a hundred seventy thousand dollars let's say where did you go and this ten trillion dollars it disappeared in market capitalization in the value of all the stocks in the market where did that ten trillion dollars go all right that's the that's the question to answer and the let me let me help you out on the the value of the company's stock since financial markets look to the future is mostly a function of its prospects tomorrow and the week after that in the year after that as perceived by current and prospective investors as they appraise future cash flows appreciation earnings that kind of stuff that's why companies talk by itself for large multiples over its earnings per share or its book value Google's stock for example has long sold at lofty premiums well before it started earning a product a profit it was not a profitable company early on about the prospects for were so good that people were competing with one another to buy the stock pushing up the price an oil lease is worth a lot more before drilling starts and after a few dry holes I think of it this way let's say you were in Las Vegas before the start of the National Football League season and let's say you bought a one hundred dollar ticket on the Broncos to win the Super Bowl let's go back a few years on the Broncos are more competitive the odds on that bad might have been thirty to one so if the Broncos won the Super Bowl that ticket would be worth three thousand dollars thirty times a hundred dollars the market value was was just the one hundred dollars that you paid for it back then so the Broncos get off to a quick start and that the odds have dropped to ten to one so somebody buying a making a bet on the Broncos won the Super Bowl would only get ten to one odds instead of getting thirty to one odds with that ticket you're holding gives you thirty one odds so a potential buyer might say you know I'm gonna give you.
