Who Are the Taliban's Leaders and Its Rank-and-File?

"The taliban took back control of afghanistan. There's been a lot of waiting wondering and worrying about how they will rule the country but we wanted to go bit more granular and ask who makes up the taliban today. It's not a simple question and we don't expect a simple answer. I'm lead hucker is going to take a stab at it. He's the editor of the afghan. I an independent media outlet and he's based in london. I'm eddie first. Question is about the person who's been named the head of the taliban led afghan government will abdelghani. Dr who is he well. He is from southern upon istana and he essentially cut his teeth in the outgun political battlefield during the soviet invasion and occupation he partook in was called the soviet jihad and obviously after the withdrawal of the soviet forces and the collapse of the puppet communist government we saw a surge in infighting amongst the mujahedeen and in one thousand nine hundred four essentially. What were a group of virginia dean. Commanders leaders and southern onto stone got together and formed a political organization called the taliban and now the taliban means literally students and as a social educational network existed for centuries in the south of the country from which malabo that is from. But this was the first time they became a political organization so malabo brought is essentially for all intents and purposes a co founder of. That's audubon a veteran. I wanna move to the rank and file members of the taliban who are they in terms of background education. Where they're from the rank and file it's difficult to sort of characterize them as a monolith however the way in which we could essentially characterize them as generally rural religiously educated so they are literally can read and they can write and generally very young. So almost you know. In that mid-twenties most of them don't remember the toddler bonds previous government in late nineteen ninety s rather their only real remembered experiences of living off the two thousand guantanamo

People Across Florida Are Marching in Solidarity With Cuba

"I think this is the beginning of a a movement in which Cubans have said enough is enough. Cubans have reached a breaking point inside the Communist island and right here in Florida, Scott hunger, health, anxiety and anger spilling over into one another, opening the floodgates of a decades long oppression and emotion. Protests and rallies have popped up all over Florida and support of Cuba and its people. Here's reporter Alexa Lorenzo. This is something that was spontaneous. We've never seen that Dr Luis Martinez Fernandez was born in Havana, a history professor now at U. C. F. He knows well, what's playing out on the island. What the government does is it unleashes these violent fanatics to beat up Cubans who are basically asking for a universal right to protest piece. Fully the communist government has arrested hundreds of protesters restricted Internet access in Cuba, showing you the dictatorship that has dominated for decades. But the question is what's next here? And what is the U. S government doing about it? Where all these people that promise about human rights? Meanwhile, 90 miles from our coastline, human rights get trampled on every day. That's why Cuban Americans in Florida like Alberto Sarmiento are protesting. His father and grandparents fled for freedom, and he wants American politicians to do more to protect the people on the island. We need action in Cuba. Now. U. S. Senator Marco Rubio, a Cuban American has been a staunch opponent of the Cuban government, taking to social media and writing a letter to President Joe Biden, giving him six steps to take a horrific bloodbath is what awaits if action is not taken something like that does not happen. Senator Rubio also tweeting images of that show Cuban military and police. Barging into homes and detaining

"Marxism communism. That's your thing. So the left, of course, has fallen in love with socialism and the Chinese government. I mean, they emulate their tactics all the times. You deny that if you should, you should seek psychiatric help immediately. You might need some pharmacological intervention. China suppresses free speech. So does the left. China believes in a social scoring system to cancel and stigmatize people. So does the left. China believes in economic bureaucratic control by government bureaucrats and tyrants. So what is the left? China believes in forcing people into indoctrination factories they squad they call schools. It's so left the Listen folks. The list goes on and on and on. In the interest of time. Those are just what I named 45 there. The left in the Chinese Communist Party are the same. So once you get us all to hate each other through CRT. And then you cause the street chaos. And then you get the police to stop doing anything about it. Because you you know your vocal war on the cops rather than war in the criminals. Artists Gather For Rare Act Of Defiance Against Cuban Regime

"Artists and activists achieved something rare. In Cuba, they held a peaceful protest. At first, it seemed the communist government would consider their demands for greater freedom of expression. NPR's Carrie Kahn reports on what happened next agents from Cuba Security forces showed up at the House of Tania Bruguera earlier this week. Among the accusations they made against the renowned performance artist that she is destabilizing Cuba that I was creating sir version in the whole country, which is completely insane, and the outspoken 52 year old activist tells NPR from Havana. That agent also accused her of taking orders from the U. S State Department. We she's stupid. The people who don't make they know I don't do that. What brew get a does do along with other artists is speak out about routine government censorship and the harassment of Cuban artists. That activism came to a head last weekend when hundreds gathered in front of the Ministry of Culture and Havana. It was a rare show of defiance in Cuba and was followed by another unusual move. Ministry officials agreed to meet with the protesters. 30 went in. Hours later, the artist emerged with the promise the ministry would address their demands Locales Real Oy is historical and advice, Peter Artists Union, Diego told the crowd. What has occurred today is historic. A large protest was sparked by the arrest of 14 dissident artists and activists, members of a collective known as the Sanusi Dro movement. The groups sprung up after the government further tightened artistic expression by enacting decree 3 49. Prompting this video by local rappers reporting to whoever stocked Cuban wrapper. The analyst things we don't agree what decree 3 49. That protest song was recorded two years ago. This round of protests against censorship is much larger now that internationally recognized Cuban artists are joining in, says Cuba expert Ted Hankin of Brew College. That kind of contagion is what the government most fears within hours of last weekend's protest. Government officials change course. Calling the protesters ponds of the US part of a CIA plot Subversives. Cuba's president Miguel DS canal tweeted, the Sanusi dra movement was nothing more than a reality show created by US Imperial ists Not We will not allow meddling from the north, he told a crowd of government supporters. Talks between the government and protesters were initially planned for this week, but none have been scheduled. That conflict puts the incoming Biden administration in a difficult spot. The president elect has already promised to reverse Trump administration sanctions against the Cuban regime. However, that shouldn't be seen as approval of the regimes human rights record, says University of California San Diego professor Richard Feinberg, but on the contrary that by lifting certain sanctions That will increase U. S influence on the island and taking the long view that in the U. S national interest, protester and artist Tania Bruguera says Despite the threats, she will continue demanding greater freedoms in Cuba. I'm not scared. I am curious. I am furious. She says She will continue to protest respectfully but never back down.

A retired naval officer and an investment counselor. I guess who went on TV last night for 45 minutes to talk about how Joe Biden knew everything that was going down on Hey, had a he had a piece. Of the action they were getting at the family. The Biden legacy was going to be a huge chunk of cash. From companies connected to the Chinese Communist government. It's it was, it was pretty amazing, and what's even more amazing is that most of the mainstream media's not picking it up. Just as last week. They didn't want to talk about Hunter Hunter Biden's laptop. It's in Cnni. Howie. Joe Biden did a press conference today and took questions from reporters and no one no one had the journalistic curiosity. To ask about the interview last night. Not one person. Isn't that so disheartening? It is, you know, there's there's There's rumors out there that the Biden people have said that anyone who brings it up from the the bottom paid for press the courtiers. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani Claims Hunter Biden's Laptop Has Photos Of Underage Girls

"Mr. Mayor. Rudy Giuliani joins me now, Mr Mary, how you doing this morning? I'm doing Well, how are you? I'm great. I'm excited. Too weak from today. I think we're going to find out. Trump won Maybe even the night before that to be nice. You have made some news, sir. All these stories coming out now about 100 biting hard drive. Email. Democrats have never job. I never denied these. Amy. These e mails were fake. Never said they're fake blah, blah, blah. But you you made the amount you'd explain it that there are now and I don't get this wrong. Photos of underage girls. Maybe naked girls underage on Hunter Biden's hard drive and now an FBI agent that signed a subpoena to take the hard drive, actually, ah focuses and investigates crimes committed against Children. So this is a big deal. Explain what you have so far. Well, there's only a certain that I can explain properly. Ah! I was given the hard drive. By my attorney who got it from the man who was repairing it, and after a long period of time, opened it up, looked at it and basically found evidence. Criminality with regard to Ukraine and China. Basically, there are Very, very clear statements on there. That the money that Hunter Biden was collecting from Ukraine, China Russia. Kazakhstan, Romania. That he was sharing a Toledo had with his father. Even during the time his father was vice president. Which would take this from a conflict of interest case. You a straight out really, really serious bribery case. And those those 100 Biden's words. In a text. You a relative. Complaining about the half that he has to give his father Is also a document there. In which tent in which the Bidens the Biden family meeting, Hunter is on his uncle. Go into business with three major Chinese communist members of Chinese organized crime. Very dangerous people, one of whom is and killed subsequently executed. Uh, and it's a deal where they get $10 million a year. 50% of the profits for making introductions. And Hunter gets a million dollars up front from the Chinese Communist. They also set up the office together. However, when you find the secret document, which is in the in the hard drive, there's a secret document that includes an additional part. It isn't in the official papers. The additional partner gets 10%. Off the overall deal. Then, according to 100 texts, actually gets 50% of what everybody else gets. Oh, he's getting a big chunk. The additional partner is described as 10% for the big guy. I'm reading from the text right now. 10% for the big guy. So now you have to figure out who is the big guy. Go. Pages later, or two Text later. Hunter. Biden is asking for teas for the new office, the first key that he asked for the job, but The second key for Jill. Bye. So he's gonna be in this office of this partnership between the Biden family. In the Chinese communist government, the name of the businesses Hudson West or something. And And finally Now I've been to anonymous Forces What's called who were involved in this deal who have identified the big guy as Joe Biden. And one of them is on the verge of becoming public. I know who they are not at liberty to give you their names, but they have been made known to the FBI and have given statements to the FBI. So basically Basically Basically what you have. Is, um Clear evidence that Biden I was involved. In massive bribery. I think I think it's described this 30 30 years 30 years of bribery, described his people. In the text messages are incredible, breathtaking crimes. In addition to it, there's a photograph section 28 to 29,000 photos that many of them harmless. Some of which Pornographic. Some of which could be described as perverted. And then there was some That, in the words of Hunter Biden's words and the way he describes his activities. Reconstitute. Um, danger to Children. So it was submitted to the Delaware police. Buy me and former Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik. Them to analyze and determine what what exactly is this? There are Pictures of young girls cannot describe exactly how they dressed. But In a way that would be a matter of concern. And there are texts. In which he admits that he's a danger to Children. And then their attacks that make allegations about him that he denies. Even though he admits he's a danger. The Children he denies having taken his clothes off in front of them. Or having face time. The nude. Psychiatrist or one of the young girls since that he did that.

"Emails. Go to talk at Lars Larson dot com. I want to bring something up involving a teacher. And a student and a very watchful mother, who was keeping an eye on order since sixth grader was doing in his online education, and this is a terrible situation. I'll ask the studio to get the teacher Trump bite ready because this sound bite really speaks to a lot of what is wrong with public education. And if there is a silver lining at all to the China virus coming to America because of the duplicity of the Chinese communist government, this is one of the silver lining. Let me explain to you. Sometimes the good things have to come from something bad happening now. What was bad the China virus, the pandemic that came to America and the shutdown of government schools and then the government schools trying to exist his online education and then they found out they couldn't really do it. They're incapable and which is kind of strange because there've been online education systems for about 20 years. Most of them were organized as charter schools, which means they were publicly funded. By the taxpayers. They were open to all and you say, How could they be opened all well how our government schools opened all what you do is you say my child lives in this school district. He would like to sign up for online education. If there's a greater number than the online education can take care of that year. Then you say we're going to have a lottery. The winners get in and we will make the system bigger next year. It's a very simple approach and the online connections academies. Should have been the go to for the government schools when the government schools, bricks and mortar schools that are unwilling to reopen as bricks and mortar classrooms when they said, we're going to do online education, wouldn't you turn to the person who's done it already? Just like if I'm building a deck, I went to one of my brothers and love but my brother in law I build decks before, but not wood deck like this one. And so he said, I'd be glad to help you out because he knows how to do it. Did the schools do that? No, They didn't. So they've created a lot of their own problems, and one of the problems is and I told you about this. A couple of months ago, there were teachers in Philadelphia that said, Well, we're kind of nervous about the idea of parents actually hearing what we're teaching to the students in the class. And I told you this was going to be one of the problems because Like it or not. As much respect as I have for teachers. There are teachers who have become accustomed to the idea that their classroom is their own personal fiefdom that they're not just drawing a nice paycheck and a nice set of benefits and retirement and everything else that comes with being a teacher. But they got used to shoving on your kids, the kind of political propaganda that should never be in a K through 12 public school education. If you send your kids to a private school, you can hire the private school to teach them anything you want, And it's up to you as a parent. But when it comes to the public schools, those should be relatively agnostic. That is not religiously. But the idea that a teacher can't just shove his or her personal politics on his class. So here's a great example of what goes wrong. A Tacoma, Washington teacher who asked his sixth grade class let me translate that that's 11 and 12 year olds to name someone who they admire until why they admire that person. Now, the teacher didn't say limited to sports figures or limited to Hollywood celebrities or limited to politicians or limited to famous inventors and statesman, he simply said. Tell us somebody you really admire and why you admire them. Well, one student whose name is not included in this report, and and there's a good reason holding these 12 years old. Come on 11 or 12 years old. He told the teacher that he admired Donald Trump, and he actually said why he admired Donald Trump. Here's the answer. Written by an 11 or 12 year old. I admire Donald J. Trump. Because he is making America great again and because he is the best president the United States could ever ever have. And he built the wall so terrorists couldn't come into the U. S. Trump is the best person in the world, and that's why I admire him. Now you could fault his writing, but he's 11 or 12 years old. I think that's written actually very nicely. What did the teacher say? Back as he removed the students nomination of Donald Trump as his it most admired person as he cut the kid out of the zoom classroom lesson. Take a listen to what the teacher said. The individual.

Biden the only man on campaign trail hits critical swing states

"As. President Donald Trump recovers from the corona virus Joe Biden is capitalizing on having the campaign trail largely to himself by hitting critical swing states and investing in Longtime Republican bastions that he hopes might expand his path to victory. The Democratic presidential nominee May t second trip to Florida in little over two weeks on. Monday. Is Visit to Miami was designed to encroach on some of trump's turf even swinging through little Havana a typically conservative area known for its staunch opposition to the communist government that Fidel Castro installed in. Cuba. He'll follow up with a trip later, this week to Arizona which hasn't backed Democratic presidential candidate since Nineteen ninety-six Biden is completing the expanded campaign travel with late stage at push reserving more than six million dollars in television airtime in Texas for decades deeply read through the end of October. Biden's advisers say they've been confident for months. They can expand the electoral map while never wavering from their promise to have their candidate travel only when local health guidelines allowed for it adhering to that plan is allowed them to expand into other parts of the country at the most critical of moments speaking yesterday in. Little Havana Biden was careful to continue to wish trump a speedy recovery but also criticized his administration's response to the pandemic. I was glad to see the president speaking and recording videos over the weekend. Biden said now that he's busy tweeting campaign messages I'd encourage him to do this. Listen to the scientists.

Trump bans dealings with Chinese owners of TikTok

"How you can save on your first box. You may have heard that President Donald Trump has a thing against. TIKTOK. The wildly popular appetite young people love for making quick funny videos often set to music. What's the problem. Data, and who gets the data tiktok zone bite. Dance a Chinese company and should the Chinese Communist government demanded date be handed over well, the corporate owner by dance would have no choice but to comply right well, Donald Trump has actually gone through and signed an executive order banning companies from working with tick talks Chinese parent by dance. Again. As a parent, you might be wondering what's the problem? Let me explain unlike facebook Instagram, you're free to watch tick tock videos without registering, which means no data collection. However, if you want to create a video and shared or comment on someone's video, then you must fork over your personal information starting with age phone number and email address from their tiktok freely admits that collects information shared from third party, social network providers and technical, which means you're your computer location or phone computer or phone location and behavioral information. What video think are funny how often you watch? and. It also takes information contained in the messages that you send on the platform and information for your phone book. That's a lot. Now how's that different from facebook facebook's owned by an American company? If the United States, government went to facebook and said, give us all your data facebook could say, no could. Be based in China say, no to the communist government that's highly unlikely. So what to do I talked to a security expert Patrick Jephson who suggested parents should cancel the kids that if they already use TIKTOK, only use it to watch videos. So no data can be compiled on them. Additionally, users can opt to have their accounts listed as private and only select certain friends to gain viewing access. Now, you probably heard that Microsoft has expressed interest in

Elaine Pearson on free speech at UNSW

"Battle of free speech on Australian University campuses. Allying piece was interviewed by the Media Department at the University of new. South. Wales about the human rights implications of Hong. Kong's new national security role as. Director at Human Rights Watch and an adjunct law lecturer at the university. She expressed concern about the laws and called on the United Nations Secretary General to appoint a special envoy in Hong Kong. Well, it's hardly a very controversial stuff in democracy lock Australia Russia. Will sell you think. We'll after the article, win online the pro. Chinese Communist Party students at the university they demanded the article be removed. You see caused a fence it was hurtful to the communist government in China. The university caved in and pulled the article. Only. After an outcry in the press was the article riposted. So. How did we get to the point when one of Australia's leading universities agrees to political censorship in favor of another nation state? Elaine. Joins me now aligned welcome to between the lines. Great to have you on the program. Thanks Tom. Now, the article is back on the University of New South Wales website but with caveats that the views expressed do not represent the views of the university you happy with this outcome. Well I'm glad that they put it back up. But I am pretty disappointed at the university's response I mean I think you know the views expressed in that article of us about the human rights situation in Hong Kong and I think that shouldn't be something that should be controversial and I was a bit surprised actually that the university was so quick to distance themselves from those views and I think you know I presumed that the ferocity of the campaign by the Pro Chinese Communist Party. Students really took them by surprise. But I think now the question really is how is Going to respond to this and I, think the students you know really are looking to see what is going to be the public response and what next is the university going to do to address these shoes mind you. This is not the only incident of academic freedom being compromised. Can you tell us about some of the other cases? Yeah, Human Rights Watch has actually been documenting Chinese document lit threats to academic freedom since two thousand fifteen not just in Australia about universities all around the world we've looked cases in the US the UK Canada France and right here, and what we've seen is that there is A universities are in a tight bind because the become quite dependent on foreign students. Many of those students coming from China those students have a very different world view, many of them and when they come here. Obviously you know coming here should come with a guarantee of academic freedom and what these should be quite basic things for an Australian university education. But in reality if those students try and for instance, join protests on campus about Hong Kong or Fin Jiang they are often then reported to the Chinese consulates So they are very afraid of doing anything like that they just. Try and keep the hits down and you know you only have to look at the controversy that's happened on Q. Withdrew Pavlou and how he has been treated to see that you know we you know it's not a very impressive response from the universities to to say, Scott Free speech and academic freedom only sorts of sensitive topics like shin-jang like Hong Kong, and like human rights in China. Now you mentioned drew heavily, he was expelled from the University of Queensland in part. For, organizing, what was it very noisy pro Hong Kong protests is that right? Well, he's been suspended. So I, think you know the industry who six months suspension six month suspension so He has been you know he's had been a pretty provocative campaigner. Some of these methods may have been a bit unorthodox, but at the end of the day, look at what happened to him on on that campus I. Mean there were fistfights erupting you cue between the different student groups you had in our pro CCP's students you know supporting the Communist Party trying to tear down. The messages from? Hong, Kong democracy supporters and the only person who's actually suffered any retaliation or reprisals is is drew himself, and so we wanna see universities really safeguard academic freedom and free speech and I think that means also acting against those who are intimidating or harassing all those on campus and making the campus a safe space to express all sorts of different views. Now in your case, a lot of the outrage amongst the Chinese students was expressed and organized I understand on Chinese soil media platforms way chat. which are now apparently watched by Beijing and to what extent you concerned about those platforms like we had and I think the other one is is a waiver we Yes that's right. Yeah I mean. These were the platforms where they organize. Look if students want to express different view an opposing you that's fine I think. I'm concerned is the extent to which this campaign became one of intimidating and harassing other students who expressed different views and as I understand it were threats made that they would report people to the Chinese consulate. For expressing excuse so I think the universities actually really need to monitor. Their social media channels and not just use them as a means of advertising for you know potential new students come to the university but also make sure that those channels are being you know being up being watched not to to censor free speech. But as I said, you know where that free speech is crossing the line. I also think they just need to be clear to the students. You know what what that means that it means. Going to a means being exposed to two different views and a free to discuss and debate those issues, but you're not free to shut down. The views of others. Of course, a line universities in Australia and this is cried sacred I've become increasingly dependent on. Overseas students for their budgets. Some have more diversified student bodies but others locked. University of new, South, Wales away opposite talking about University of New South Wales because of your special case this week they heavily concentrated on the Chinese market now since covert. US W has been one of the hardest hit by travel restrictions at recently made nearly I think five hundred staff redundant. Do you think this budget anxiety affected their handling of the issue align peace and? Yes I've been I think this reliance on the revenue from foreign students is something that you know all universities are facing now and so it it is putting them in a difficult position but I think that's why actually universities need to have a unified front. I think they really need to look at their existing. Codes of conduct they don't actually deal with these issues of foreign students might come from very different oil you, and so you know what I've suggested to you, and it's still view and to many other universities in Australia is to adopt a twelve point code of conduct specifically on these issues and they need to be alive to these issues. They need to incorporate it more into the orientation when you foreign students coming to campus so that they really understand what academic freedom means with our and they need to sort of monitor and. Safeguard, for you know acts of intimidation or harassment because I'm not so worried about myself but I'm more worried about other students on campus who will see how the situation has developed and then they might be too scared to speak out on. Hong Kong will fit in the classroom or other academics who might think twice about taking a meteorological on Hong Kong because they'll be worried about the potential backlash. So you know I think universities really need to take a stand on this and you know it needs to be done. You know jointly. By by all USTRALIAN universities.

Tipping the Waiter at the TikTok Table; Howard Schultz: This is a five-star emergency

"Up on today's podcast tech and the platform that's finally got adults talking tick tock tech stocks have been on a tear salesforce Microsoft and facebook all hit record highs this week. But leading the charge apple last Friday I will lead over ten percent in one day yesterday the stock closed at an all time high and now apple is just a few percentage points away from hitting a two trillion dollars market cap the golden number to get it there four, hundred, sixty, seven dollars and seventy seven cents a share. And it looks like apple wine this milestone before it's order one stock split goes into effect at the end of this month. The other companies in the headlines? This Week tiktok beloved by teems commonly misunderstood adults, and now a chesapeake in international business and diplomacy. Here's injury Ross Mark and we've been talking TIKTOK and Microsoft and all of what's happening in Washington. Eunice Yoon reporting now that it's not just Microsoft but to other tech firms that are in talks with Tik Tok owner by dance over a possible sale in president trump said yesterday, he was ready to approve a purchase of the US operations tiktok. But then he said the only woman to do it if the government receives a lot of money in exchange listen to this. Microsoft or somebody else who was the Chinese? What what the price is the United States could should get a very large percentage of that price because we're making it possible without us you know I use the expression it's like the landlord and the tenant. And without the lease the tenant doesn't have the value what we're sort of in a certain way the lease we make it possible to have this great success, tick toxic tremendous success, but a big portion of its in this country. Sale? Yeah. Whatever the number is, would it would come from the civil on Wall Street banker problems. By the way they call that tipping the waiter, but I don't think we've ever tipped the government for transaction president trump said he told Microsoft's CEO that a very substantial portion of the price is going to have to come into the treasury of the United States because quote or making it possible for this deal to happen I was on the phone by the way with. The people involved in this transaction deal teams on all sides who heard that yesterday. Couldn't really even make. Heads or tails of what the president was saying how. Would you hey the government what would that look like could there be a formulation where ultimately you come to some kind of transactional agreement and then you announce that you're making some kind of infrastructure investment in the in the United States who you're going to create some kind of jobs I'm literally, this is the conversation that's happening inside the room among these companies. If we created some companies without yesterday we got to it. It's what did you say? I. Heard it reported yesterday when I first started reporter yesterday I thought he's just saying this stuff off the cuff he doesn't really mean it. Then I saw what he actually said I thought wow, he does mean it. I don't even know how you could possibly as somebody WHO's working on this deal come up with anything that makes any sense and Steve Ballmer Steve Balmer was with us yesterday and said as a shareholder as the top shareholder Microsoft he would love to see this deal get done at the right price. Gets an exciting proposition for Microsoft. obviously depends on the price. Price is important as well as whatever restrictions come from a government perspective but I think it's an exciting avenue for Microsoft to really increase its consumer base. I don't know how you figure out any sort of pricing right pricing when you have to then go in and add some significant number on top that you'd be paying to the US Treasury. Well, what are they? Going to happen is because this is a bit of evaluation game. And I hate to say, we're going to be using trump valuation but I think that what's going to happen is they're going to effectively. Create a higher valuation for the overall business. Then kind of create something where they can say we're giving you something and that bite dance is giving it. That's the other important part of the view at least from what I understand Turnley among these groups is that the money has to come out of China not out of a US company. So you're going to have to make it appear whatever that whatever it is that you're giving to appear that China's not getting part of that's because Peter Navarro and others don't frankly want US money. Ten twenty thirty billion forty billion dollars ending up in the hands of China for the. So there's so many sort of China. has already weighed in. On this today that China has weighed in on this today through some of the states that media where they are saying that you know the US is basically stealing us and trying to do take off with this that it's a rogue nation now at this point. So the idea that you are going to come up with something that satisfies the trump administration and at the same time satisfies the communist government in China Good luck with that I mean this is they're going to get caught in between the two the two with this because even though China may not. Necessarily, be looking for some of the same angles. It's not going to say, okay, it's okay for the US to come out looking like this and stealing our company and don't worry about it. CEO of Tiktok you know or bite dance don't worry about it. We'll live with that sort of a kind of a slap in the face. To all this stuff we're talking about it. Sorry Andrew it. It overshadows the the lead of the story right and that's that there are possibly other suitors for the US. Of tiktok, we we we talked yesterday Andrew about well, maybe media companies would be interested in this property. Now, you know the the wording here that that we use her that Eunice was reporting was other tech offense, which which makes it even more interesting and who these other tech companies. May Be an at. Are they based in the US or are they elsewhere? It would be very I. I would imagine it would be very hard for Google or Amazon or an apple etc to try to buy this company given the anti-trust pressures on them, I. Think my understanding was that the White House preferred that liked the Microsoft choice from a regulatory perspective. So it's all very interesting by the way the other piece of this is the part I. Really don't understand if you're apple today, you know we're talking about this two trillion dollars market cap that keeps going up and up and up. Given. Given. The China risks now now, maybe look they foxconn supplying hundreds of thousands of people if not more than are making these phone so maybe they can't just say to Tim. Cook. Good luck to you but I would think there would be risk if we do this to a Tiktok what kind of a backlash reciprocal. Backlash is China going to have for some US companies doing business there? That's the part I don't understand say knock built into any of the. It it's it's no different than the same conversations we were having during the depths of the trade war. Right? We had these same conversations. We push too hard if the tariffs are to punitive companies are companies like apple, the ones that are going to face the pushback or the retaliation in some way and I think it's fair to say that that that never really came back to these two tech companies I mean, she didn't say where those tech companies were based and and I wonder what the US would do that if if it was being pursued by a company, another technology company based in China but not based in the United States either how would Sylvia's see something like that and would they still threaten to turn off the the APP in the United States if it was not a US company?

US arrests three Chinese nationals for visa fraud

"Lie about their status as members of China's military KP case. Brody Fernandez reports well, Katie, Three of those individuals have been arrested by the FBI, the fourth, however, a researcher from UC Davis Dwan Tang, who allegedly lied on a student visa form. When asked if she was a member of the Chinese military, well, she successfully fled to the Chinese consulate in San Francisco, where she's currently being granted protection by the Communist Party. Now the question is, Where do we go from here? Can't be Kay's legal analyst, Bill Portanova told me the situation. It's not anything new. The Communist government of China uses education visas and uses contractual agreements with businesses to being access to inside information technology research and so forth. And they use it to their own advantage in their own country, Of course, where they do not have any laws allowing for the protection of intellectual property or anything like that. So that means any technology or any research. The government of China gets their hands on Will they use it, and there's no way to sue them or even recover that research. In a statement said to Cabe a cave this afternoon, UC Davis officials did confirm Tang was conducting research in the Department of Radiation Oncology. I also found out TheStreet EAS were funded by the Chinese Scholarship Council, a study based exchange program affiliated with China's Ministry of Education. But are these four individuals who were charged possibly the only ones committing espionage? The Communist Party of China sends tens of thousands of people to the United States to infiltrate every level of society. How many of these people are students is a number that nobody knows. In California. There were 25,000 Chinese nationals attending the University of California throughout the state. This woman who has been charged is only one out of 25,000 but her being charged and these other people being charged, I think is the tip of an iceberg. Yeah, Kitty, that iceberg and represents the U. S China relations right now. And after this news breaking today, many think there will soon be a tipping point. And now with Tang under protection from the Chinese government in San Francisco, there's not really much hope for justice if she was, in fact committing espionage Well. If China was, in fact a country that played by international standards, there would be some sort of diplomatic discussion and resolution of the issue. Unfortunately, China cheat. And you can fully expect that China will deny she's there and then fully expect her to be smuggled out of the country. You know, Portanova says Unless the FBI was already heavily monitoring the Chinese consulate there is little hope Tang will be seen in a U. S courtroom anytime soon. As for U. C. Davis, they told me their school of medicine is providing all information requested by the FBI. And all other authorities who are continuing to investigate this case. All right, Kpk za Brody Fernandez there, Traffic and

China says it will retaliate after US orders its Houston consulate to close

"With the Chinese. Let's deal with the hacking situation and the story that broke yesterday and even before this, we had heard that the Chinese were actively trying to steal intellectual property on Research for a Corona virus vaccine and it comes down to the Chinese know that this virus originated in Wuhan. The Chinese know that they misled the world. They misled the United States they misled. Originally, the World Health Organisation, which has become complicity with the Chinese. On multiple levels and the Chinese did a disservice to humanity. Let's look at it through the prism and the lenses of us here in the United States. That if they would have let us know in December Or early January what they knew and if the Chinese would have locked down Wuhan sooner, even just a week sooner. They didn't tell their own people between January 14th in the 21st and there was a massive spread and rule on at that point. They don't even tell their own people or they didn't move to lock things down. And again the Chinese Communist government completely to blame here for mishandling and mismanaging and lying to the world. And with that said the Chinese don't want Toby. Shown up that they don't want to be behind the eight ball. They want to also be the ones that say, Hey, we've got the best vaccine against Corona virus. Instead of all of the other pharmaceutical and research and institutions around the world that are working diligently and feverishly. On a vaccine whether it's German scientists whether it's French, whether it's what we're hearing out of Oxford in the UK Fizer here in the United States and, of course, their branches all around the world, Moderna. You know, that's just a fraction of who's working. Johnson and Johnson here in the United States is just a fraction of who's working on this vaccine. And the Chinese were we heard this two months ago. I talked about this on the program months ago that the Chinese were tryingto hack and steal data from all over the world so they could be first. Was saying, Hey, we got the vaccine. And now we have two Chinese hackers that have been formally charged with trying to steal research on the Corona virus vaccine. Trying to steal from private companies trying to steal from our government agencies as well. And this is what came down from the DOJ yesterday. And these two guys apparently work that the Chinese Ministry of State Security and the Gwang Dong State Security Department To lead a campaign, which the DOJ the assistant attorney General, John Demmer said was a sweeping global computer intrusion campaign. That's the nice way to say hacking intellectual property theft just going in and stealing. Chinese are very, very good at this. That's why they've gotten so far militarily. From a industrial standpoint, they stolen countless countless hundreds of billions or trillions. An intellectual property. Lee. Zhou Yu, 34 years old and dung. Jeez, I got zero J A Z a shot. G, uh 31. According to the reports, they targeted intellectual property and confidential business information. Held by Pharmaceutical companies and those that are steaming full speed ahead toward a corona virus treatment. Treatments. So the therapeutics the testing issues, the vaccines they were trying to rip off and bust into everything. And this is what the Chinese have done again. Defense contractors. Why do you think the latest generation of the Chinese fighter jet looks just like the F 35 Because they ripped off was the Lockheed Martin or north of Groman. They They controlled her back in the late to thousands like 8 4009 And they stole a whole lot of defence information on the F 35 ripped it off. So it's defense contractors. They rip off the pharmaceutical companies. A computer high tech medical device companies. The Chinese even have a history of busting into solar energy companies here in the United States video game development They're ripping off information. They're stealing codes. It's nonstop on what the Chinese do their absolute thieves. When it comes to intellectual property. According to the indictment. These malicious cyber activities began more than 10 years ago. And were ongoing as of the date of the indictment, according to AA de MERS. During that time, the hackers stole terabytes of data from hundreds of targets. Establishing themselves as a prolific threat to the U. S and foreign networks. And these charges from the feds. They say that these Chinese hackers tried to access the accounts of other organizations that we're not government organizations. They tried to bust also into dissident organizations or actual dissidents or clergy, human rights activists. Is it trying to get Intel and so they can punish and and go after anything that's a threat to the Chinese Communist. Regime. That's what this comes down to. Yeah, Lee and Dung they were working on high tech companies. That was their focus, but they had a whole team. They work of others, obviously, but Lee and Dung they were, they were focused on busting into high tech companies here in the United States, also in South Korea, and Sweden and Spain, Australia, Belgium, Britain. Germany, Japan, Lithuania Nothing about a stony and Latvia. But Lithuania and these indictments were filed in U. S District Court in Washington. And shows that Beijing is using fight cyber theft. In a worldwide campaign. To quote Robbe replicate and replace non Chinese companies in the global marketplace. And then there's also said that China is providing the safe haven for these criminals in order for the Chinese government to get all this information that these guys were Pretty much on the Chinese kami payroll. China has not taken its place alongside Russia, Iran and North Korea in that shameful club of nations that provide a safe haven for cyber criminals to exchange or in exchange for those criminals being on call toe work for the benefit of the state. Again to feed the Chinese Communist Party's insatiable hunger. For American and other non Chinese companies. And to steal their hard earned intellectual property, including covert 19 research, according to Des Murs, assistant attorney general It's a huge problem it has been, and that's why the Chinese are as far as they are. So on the heels of that now we go to the next chapter. And that's that the Chinese consulate in Houston, Texas, has been ordered closed and, you know he's got his finger on this pulse and is spot on and is not a great job and doesn't pull punches. Mince words. And that's Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio. He gets and has gotten the Chinese threat for a very long time. And what Marco Rubio said today in Fox Business interview is that the Chinese Consulate in Houston is a front for a massive spy organization. And the State Department has ordered that consulate in Houston. To shut down, he said. This consulate is basically a front. It's kind of the central node of a massive spy operation. Commercial espionage, defense espionage. Also influence agents try to influence Congress, according to Marco Rubio. And by the way, Senator Rubio is the acting chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. And he said that this closure of the Houston Chinese consulate was long overdue. And he said the State Department Was completely right Team make this move, and the State Department says that this is absolutely necessary to protect intellectual property here in the United States and private information. And of course, the Chinese. They're going ballistic. They're saying that they could retaliate. That this is uncalled for. This is a gray GIs. We could retaliate. China China When you get there, try to get you to send another virus our way. Is that how you going to retaliate? And Rubio also predicted that China Would then retaliate by closing one of our diplomatic facilities. In China. And if you wanna get a snapshot of what we have in China, Of course, we have the official U. S embassy in Beijing, but we have five consulates around China. We have a consulate in Shanghai. We have a U. S consulate in Gwang Ju. We have a U. S consulate and Cheng do and Wuhan Great and in Shenyang, So we have apparently five other Consulates. On top of our embassy. So the expectation is the Chinese going to retaliate by shutting down one of our places. Hey, what about this fire? What about the Houston Fire Department being called to this embassy or this consulate? Has to shut down by end of business like 45 o'clock on Friday. So the Chinese have to shut this thing down and get out by the end of this week. By Friday afternoon, And last night, there was a fire at the embassy Smoke and Houston Fire department responded. What do you think happened? Where was the fire? What were they doing? Hold on to that thought, because we'll wrap up this whole story with that next. Here on Schmidt, I

"China has told Britain to stop all interference in Hong Kong's affairs immediately earlier the British prime minister warned Beijing that if it imposed new security laws on Hong Kong London would have no choice but to offer millions of people in the former colony ridge to British citizenship the new legislation would make it a crime to undermine Beijing's authority Celia Hatton explains many people don't like the idea of the national security law because it's being imposed on the people of Hong Kong and that violates the principle that Hong Kong has its own political and legal systems outside of course says that the law is necessary for national security it says it's only going to target a handful of people in Hong Kong who are guilty of terrorism and subversion but if you look at the mirror law that's currently in place in mainland China it's very vague it's been used to target many of the communist government's political opponents and it's already becoming evident that the new law will allow people who are arrested in Hong Kong to be tried in courts outside of the current Hong Kong court system

"Of the communist government and China's efforts to cover this up this became a global pandemic if if they had stepped in and and and and acted quickly maybe it could have been contained and kept a regional epidemic instead of going global I think there needs to be serious accountability I think we need to to ascertain where this virus came from whether it escaped inadvertently from from the nearby will haunt institute of neurology which was studying corona viruses and backs right that's a very important question to raise I think all of those questions will come but they will come after we have defeated this pandemic I think the first urgency is the public health crisis and the immediate economic crisis the next step is going to be the accountability of what decisions the communist government of China made that bet contributed to what's happened the left media in this country said as you know is taking time as work for everything China is is ahead of the world they're solving the problem when in fact they started the problem I have no confidence in the numbers coming out of China the the allegation that we have more cases here they had there is something we just can't substantiate we have no clue do you are you do you feel company that we have any idea how many people had it or died in China from corona virus I'll tell you what I'm absolutely confident up which is that their numbers are eight total blocks that it's complete fabrication we know they're lying we know China covered up on the front end but China claims that at the start of March they had eighty thousand cases and at the end of March they had eighty one thousand kings now anyone who's seen the Kerr about this disease that's not remotely credible they just stop technology in cases and then so many of of the US mainstream media just just dutifully parroted the propaganda the US's past China we had no idea how many cases and how many deaths of happening in China because they're just lying about it and and and and the media you know the reason the media doesn't want to report on that story is the network executives stand to make millions and even billions of dollars by access to the Chinese market and they don't want to piss off the Chinese right but but you know we need we need actually journalist you're willing to to to speak the truth and and ask obvious and important question it seems sort of thing the NBA did when when China was in question about Hong Kong they completely turned against the Houston Rockets guy and you have lebron James talk about how he doesn't know anything about what's really happening in China because lebron James knows the fact is John it is a a a a an authoritarian government that was shutting down free speech protest in Hong Kong and NBA was afraid to go against them because the billions of dollars in state right I mean at the NBA was terrified of crossing China one little tweak from Daryl Morey the general manager of the rockets are you telling me die hard rock it's so I know get a you know other than Houstonians nobody knew who grow more it was and then the Communist Party of China made him famous through lost their mind right that that that he tweeted out stand for freedom and democracy stand for Hong Kong like at that innocuous tweet and the NBA prostrate in itself I mean just just bags and and and apologize that it was embarrassing you saw Nike pull products from the shelves because the Chinese were mad and and the degree to which the American business community is terrified of crossing the Chinese government is really an enormous challenge not just today but for the next year and for the next decades and centuries ago yeah I couldn't agree more it's a center Ted Cruz I know you've got another interview coming up one one last quick one there was some pork put in this bill and and you guys accepted because the greater good was at stake here what you saw it something like specifically the Kennedy center got twenty five million dollars to have the next day they fired everybody we got twenty five million dollars pocketed it and then delayed everybody off nobody gets paid anymore when something like that happens is there gonna be hell to pay for the left because they they they were stopping it's suppose you already deleted a week we know that you guys had a bill you had it done Chuck Schumer kowtow to her so you see this money going out to ridiculous items having nothing to do with corona virus is there gonna be hell to pay or they just get what they get because they have the house but it was ridiculous that it was abusive and that being said and it and it was the price the Democrats brought as they insisted on these car valves that being said most of the garbage close he was trying to get in there we managed to get out right and and so you'll recall we first we're gonna take up the bill was a week ago Sunday and at the last minute the Democrats blocked it entirely and it goes below sea parachuted in with a list of demands of all these partisan objectives she had that had nothing to do with the coronavirus said she was trying to ratchet up emissions standards for airplanes you know I present on the Senate floor and said what the hell do emission standards for airplanes have to do with the car locus on the crisis and solve the crisis now thankfully yet you know they were trying to push the green new deal they were trying to push all of their political agenda at the voting ballot but thankfully most of that was taken out and so look at a two trillion dollar bill there are parts that I don't like it I wish worked there but but the the majority of it I think is important relief.

free people I don't hear Democrats talking about the people who wish to be free in Venezuela ever I don't hear them talking about the people who wish to be free in Cuba ever but they attacked president trump over immigration policies and they never ever have he substandard by rational alternative never ever Joe Biden so we should get ready detention centers now when he was vice president I'd states they can get rid of detention centers ladies and gentleman what would be the outcome of getting rid of the tension centers now you're not going to hear this on CNN and MSNBC because they're not news organizations not gonna read about any of this in any significant way in the New York slimes of The Washington compost because in a news organization hi Jack this this this nomenclature of free press they're not so the question is what do you do if you don't have detention centers that is if you can't detain people to figure out who they are you do nothing anyone who gets across the borders free to go this is why none of them will come on this program because I'm not Jake tapper because I'm not a hundred metro because I'm not track Todd I have some serious questions I want to ask these people about their alternatives what exactly is it that they want to get out of immigration you don't want a wall what do you want when we went technology into it but it's not working do you wanna open borders what about ninety eight percent of the people who refused to return to court to be heard by an administrative law judge what you want to do about them what you want to do about forty five percent of the people here illegally who violate their visas what do you want to do about adults to drag a little kids into this country in thirty percent of the time they're not their kids they're molested they are abused and they are used how are you going to determine the seventy percent from the thirty percent if you don't detain them and under your policy of never separating them you'll never separate and abused and molested child from an adult there's not even their parents and what about the right to the American people what about that people just come into this country you see what's going on in Montgomery County Maryland only because the spotlight is on that county thanks in large measure to my buddy Larry o'connor on WMAL eleven twelve year old girl raped repeatedly over a period of months I illegal aliens five or six of them and a little boy to all market out of all illegal aliens don't do that that's the stupidest argument in the world well those illegal aliens and they should have been in our country and that little girl would have been safe would have been safe why is it that the Democrats defend foreigners who come into this country illegally they don't know anything about these foreigners they don't know who they are they don't know that where they come from they don't know if a criminal records they don't a damn thing about them but they want to come into the country they wanted to come into the country because I want to turn Texas blow because I want to turn Florida blue I look this these are the facts this is reality because they're power hungry they're not just cystic you cannot be a leftist and not be narcissistic you cannot be a leftist and not be power hungry so nature the beast it's the nature of the beast so let's listen to Joe Scarborough a failed Congress many fail radio host may fail TV I was over there with barely a blip on the ratings radar over there MSL estate he's here with their ordering Robinson another left wing clown writing for The Washington compost and by the way on the Pulitzer committee money be the chairman as far as I know to Mr producer go yeah I was just trying to think of what other leader whatever country and we're in a world full of leaders but we also do this who would say let's deported some some some desperately sick children it's just the the secret garden could that right in the in your worst sort of the store is guide the these people they wake up every morning they look in the mirror they shave brush their teeth do what they do they get in their cars if they're not in fact driven to the studio they're all prepared to do the same thing every single day every single day RRS Eugene Robinson this question how do you know they're desperately ill unless you detain them and question them and find out right Mister medicine what if we don't have detention centers tell me Mister Robinson world these doctors and nurses and hospital beds gonna come from tell me Mister Robinson what would you do what would you do tell me Mister Robinson why did your party in your Democrat and a left this admittedly or not what are they vote against increasing funding for the number of detention beds in the first instance they posted why is that and why don't we secure the border why do you think that every person who sick all over the world should be able to come into the United States I thought we had the worst healthcare system in the world should they be going to Canada Britain or France but in any event how is that possible for the United States to medicate and treat every child all over the world go ahead right from right this is this is where we are in the United States of America in the year twenty nineteen it's just everything we do in twenty nineteen some Polish trust appalling folks this is an attack on you that's what it is when they attacked the country when the attack trump they're attacking you when the attack our immigration laws that was that were passed by Congress of the decade they're attacking you this is all an attack on you the American citizen the American way of life then when you say that you must be a white supremacist these people are poisonous their cancerous go ahead it is appalling and again using any humane yeah using any many policies that are going to have an impact absolutely hello of of immigrants coming to the United so this is a news platform with this kind of pabulum is marked up every single day to day in and day out they get into their limousines they're driven to the studios they make an enormous amount of money they're treated like they're celebrities and they get in there and they just keep trashing the president trash the print no push back no serious diversity of unanimous I suppose the news room right news operation MSNBC every day the same damn thing go ahead yeah and the purpose the inhumanity of the policy proposals themselves in the policies are actually the answer this clown was a member of the house of representatives from the panhandle of Florida Republican I think it was a like six years is anybody remember Joe Scarborough making this case when he was a member of the house of representatives now because he didn't does anybody remember him calling trumping humane and Hitler and all these other names when he was cheerleading for him in the Republican primaries he and his dim witted I mean in his beautiful wife no because they didn't Eugene Robinson used to be a reporter you can see what a joke he is never a serious journalist seeking objective truth always a hack you can "For the first couple of decades. It will start slowing down. And that's where many believe China is at this point. And of course, they're going to get to that point, whether the right now in five years or ten years, I can't tell you. But the fact is, they will get there like every of society who decides to become a capitalist society gets to where then you need to be responsive, especially in a communist government that has not been responsive. You have to be responsive to the people who garner influence through wealth. Right. That's just the reality of it. If the other thing I wanted to bring up is when we talk about what's going on in the actual negotiations. And some of the confusion, and there was another article the journal Robert Zoellick, and he is a former World Bank president, and former US trade Representative and deputy secretary of state and what he said is, and this actually make some, some really good sense because at some of the things that you and I have talked about. It's talked about the things that. Americans really want from China. Americans object to China's lack of. Where is it here, alone against the US wants China to lower tariffs? Protect intellectual property and stop forced transfers of technology ban, currency manipulation equalize, business and investment opportunities..

"So again, Trump administration will unleash higher tariffs at the end of the week. Yes, it's going to hurt the global economy. It's not his goal. But his goal is to try to get a deal done. Yes. It's aggravating tensions with China. I don't think he cares much about that. Neither do I. Yes. Extending timeframe, which talks I'm gonna be dumb. And let's get a good deal done. Not a deal for the sake of getting a deal done. Some are saying this could potentially mean serious problems for the stock market. And trade negotiations. With these threats on the table threats. Don't have to be on the table. Let me just remind China who put them on the table. You put them on the table when you made all those changes to one hundred and fifty pages of deal that was already done on Friday night. So I guess you're going to blame President Trump for that. That's fine. Go ahead, but you're looking out for the regime of the communist government, don't say you're looking for the people of China. That's comical at best. President Trump is looking for the people of America. By the way, is popularity went up again this morning. "I established a relationship with the communist government, they gave me some land. And I traveled the world working with bare specialists to and worked with friends aspirins for money asked them for their jewelry anything that. They would give me, and we raise the money, you know, stralia and in the United States and built I bear sanctuary in that country, and that bear I am so happy to tell you was released finally into that sanctuary. And now there are twenty three bears. Very happy story. You know? It's a great story. But that was that was the start of it for me that wasn't a Tiffany with a species of animal that wasn't a pet when I realized we're all the same. We're all animals. We all think we all feel we all care, and I just had to do something about it. And so when it came down to writing this book just to progress a little bit. I was offered a two book deal in Australia for the divinity of dog and the. Publisher that I chose who offered that two book deal set the second book had to be a memoir. Well, it took me two years to figure out how do I write in a memoir about myself, which I really didn't want to do that might be an important book. And so I started thinking, well, what about that moment with the dare how that all the people I've met in my life along the way, we're doing amazing things in the world for other species. Let me ask them how it all started. And it always started with their connection with an animal that wasn't their pets. In reading the book. I was touched. There's like you said the bear you had like an amazing experience when you were supposed to be on vacation, and the little monkeys in the porcupine only gosh, I mean fuck, and I'm reading this book going because it is it's about are you gonna turn away or are you not going to turn away, and you didn't turn away in some contingency myself going? Oh my gosh. It's the same thing. It's like you can't turn away in that. With the people that you spoke to in the book, and it seems like you met amazing people in your lifetime along the way because what they did. And I'm talking about people who work in not only with animals, but the Sea World with it covered so much, and it's like people who didn't look away and theme of each chapter is kind of a gives you that feeling you walk away going. Oh my gosh. What a difference that person. Make and sometimes it could be something simple. Sometimes it could be some one who's totally nine involved in it. But gets involved in it, and you just show that yes, there is a way for people. If you see something you don't have to turn away, you can do it. And there's so many ways you could help, you know, it's not sometimes you don't have to physically do the work. There are people. They're kind of like if you build it. They will come. And that's what I read. Yes. Yes. Wonderful. I mean, you know, that and you know, and and if you love animals the way all of your listeners, do, you know, we're all we've, you know, we grew up kind of blocking everybody else in a way people are like it's a dog. Who cares? If Tang, you know, and all that type of stuff, and you kind of had to go with your own strengths and fly instincts and fight it. Well, the truth is when you do and we're in a different generation now two things are changing. But when you do take that step when you do call that animal control officer when you do make a fuss about something that's going on. You will find that? You're not alone. You will find it. There's an army of people behind you. And like that story in Flores, Indonesia on the island where you know, I was at a hotel, and I saw all these horrifically chained monkeys before innocent animals, guess I change and I saw there. Release back into the jungle which was a beautiful thing. But it was only because so many people before me had complained if I have been the first complainant, then they would've they would've teased me. You know, offer you a nice you're sitting by the sense that let's not worry about this. We'll take it into consideration. But you know, the trip advisor, and every all the people who had come before me facilitated that change. And so we are in it together. Things don't always happen as quickly as we like, but we can create change, and, you know, people call some people call it the animal rights movement. I call the movement that we're in right now the compassion. Nine ninety percent of the people on this globe, consider themselves compassionate beings. But they don't always act on it. And that's where we're at. You know, that's where we're at right now if someone's offended by that term Emirates, I can I can assure you this is about a much bigger picture than a term like that. This is about us all moving forward in the right way instead of the wrong way. Now that you bring that up like we have so many listeners and actually our listeners are we have an international audience. What is something the average person can do to help impact the world or or change the lives of animals, whichever? Whether they be domestic animals wild animals, whether it be in the ocean will couldn't the average person do to make a change or there's so many things to do. I mean, I could I could not about this forever. As you know, always support charities better creating change. I know there are a lot of change dot org. Type of petitions that go around, but I do a lot of work with the humane society of the United States. And and they're very active in Washington is a matter of fact, I law the in Washington, rip them, fun animal welfare issues and those animal welfare issues are often connected with people issues as well. So we are all in it together. But I support organizations like that were creating weeping change for animals, but then on the local level reporting your local animal shelter. If there's still a pound, they're taking the rank it's taking the towels taking the cans, you know, give money where you can have drives educate your children, take the girl scout troops to the to the shelter. Let them know what this is all about. Because once they see it. They want to be involved special, especially kids, I'm an internet. National level. Many of us are traveling the world. Now, we go to Africa. We're going to Asia. Do not participate in cruelty, and so many people would not know would not think that they're participating in cruelty. But seriously, you know, just have to watch a few documentaries like Blackfish the cove to know that by going to an oceanarium that has train dolphins trained wells that you are participating in cruelly cruelty. You're buying into it. You know, instead take your kid for a whale watch. You know, no and do eco-tourism at its best see them where they belong in their natural state. Not where they're, you know, according to Richard berry who's in the book who is one of the first dolphin trainers in the world. He, you know, he explains that he didn't know when he was training that until they really realize that dolphins naturally have a smile on their face. That's that's a natural thing. But they are being. Tortured and starved in order to do tricks. So it's kind of like the smiles and actually you bring him up and reading about him. It was it was very it was like heartwarming to redistribute. I mean, the story the way he changed things around. "communist government" Discussed on The Economist: The Intelligence

"Earlier this week. America's Justice department filed striking indictment of Wally Chinese technology firm, suspected of being chummy with the communist government that's going to make the bilateral trade talks that start today the more tense than the last round. And it's getting easier to get good quality Indian food in the truck stops of America. There's a demographic shift going on in trucking and with it comes a whole new genre of music. But I. Venezuela without Madero would be much better place. Brooke hunger is America's editor at the economist. He's in the country for the past six years. They've been six disastrous. Here's both in terms of what's happened to the economy, which is shrunk by something like fifty percent since he took over and also in terms of the political and humanitarian situation people are hungry. People are fleeing he's steadily arrogated more and more power to himself to the point where Venezuela know only really be described as containership but President Nicolas Maduro suddenly faces a resurgent opposition that the international community is all too ready to back new oil sanctions coming into force and as protests Savoy over window has hinted negotiations with the opposition leader, all of a sudden the opposition. Venezuela has kind of got its Mojo back the national assembly, which is legitimate elected named as its president a man named one Guido. Cook claimed himself country's interim president. On the grounds that Moore is no longer legitimate president. And what this is done is it's kind of galvanize the opposition to Madero which had been really kind of defeated tomorrow is divided up until that point and as important countries such as the United States and Canada and most of the major economies in South America have agreed to recognize Mr. Guadalupe as the country's interim president. So now, you have a focus of legitimacy and power opposition Mr. Majoor of that you didn't have before. And then on Monday, the US imposed its Titus sanctions yet on Venezuela, basically, cutting off US imports Venezuelan oil, which is their main source of income. Why though which you say, Mr. Guido is viewed as legitimate? Why can he do what he's done well under the country's constitution? If the presidency is vacant, and Mr. IDO, and the Democrats would argue that is vacant because Madeira a fraudulent election last may then the interim presidency falls to the president of the national assembly. And that's Mr.. Guido who then has the responsibility to call elections within thirty days. And what do you say about the the murmurings that this is sort of a AKU orchestrated from outside in order to argue that this was a coup. You have to argue that Maduro is the legitimate, president of Venezuela and clearly isn't the opposition done. Nothing violent. There's no attempt to seize power by force. This is not a coup and just today. Mr. Madeira has said he is actually ready to have talks with Mr. Guido reportedly. Right. Well, I don't I don't place a lot of faith in that. I mean, the government the opposition of had talks before on those past occasions. It's been basically a way for the government to kind of wrongfoot the opposition and divide the opposition. They haven't really lead to anything. You know was saying he's not gonna have fresh elections, you'll have parliamentary elections, and of course, parliament is now controlled by the opposition. So that's kind of inviting parliament to put his self election. And then Madore Tariq those elections in his favor. So I don't take that offer terribly seriously the supreme court in Venezuela. Also. Travel ban on Mr White. It's not surprising that they would do that. I think one of the interesting aspects of all of this is that you know, the government has been very repressive against the opposition. But you know, so far dole remains a free man in the national assembly remains in business, even though it doesn't have any formal power. Okay. And I guess what happens next is largely driven by the military. And and whether they continue to stand by him. Do you have a sense of whether it's loyalties might be changing. There's no real sign yet that the military is defecting on mass all the top generals came out a couple of days ago, and pledge their loyalty to the regime, you've had some isolated instances of rebellion within various units of.

"The Chinese communist government is the People's Liberation Army is while way that company would be nothing had it not stolen hijacked American technology to do everything it does. It's it runs itself out as a telecommunications company, and what what they're doing. Now. I was listening to General Jack Keane talk about this today. And he was saying that whenever you see the company who Huawei think of that as you're hearing just just put were China in your in your mind as soon as you you see that because that's what's going on. Now. I saw earlier today. Also, it was I want to say it was either Breitbart her drudge the guy who started while way who came out of the fifty sixty s older gentlemen, I think he was like seventy. Five or something. But he was he was all doing the tear Jerker thing about he started the company, and he's he didn't really want to be a communist. But you had to be he went through the anti intellectual purge. His father was I guess refer bidding to ever have a job because he was looked at as a reactionary or something like that. But he was trying to do the tearjerker thinking about while way is really a good company. He didn't come out and say that directly. But that's basically what he was saying. And it's a lie. I'm sure he had something to do a starting in, of course. But here's here's what hallway does. And Trump just busted him on. This just busted him. He's the one who Trump is the one the last man standing who arrested the female executive on this company. What they'll do is they'll go into a into a country, you're going to say, for example, Sudan, pick some country. That's third world backwater country that has stuff that the Chinese want in for example in Africa. I don't know what it's used for. I probably should. But beryllium, let's say you want brilliant while there are there are countries in Africa that are just knee-deep chest deep in Berlin. So you go over and say, you know, what we're going to come in here. And what we wanna do you want to invest in your in your country? We want to give you money. So that you set up roads infrastructure while we're going to help you set up. Telecommunications phones all of the above. And what the really really doing is first of all they get these countries deeply in debt. So now, they hold the debt. They're centrally indentured servants slaves. I hasten you back to William federal talked about all this last night indentured servants slaves to China, and and they have all the Chinese while way infrastructure. All the telecommunications commit a all the internet, whatever they they they run out for these people. Well, good luck. When it comes time for these people to break away and do anything on their own. They've got all their mining data of the union, and they're also a stern masters. They don't they don't play nice the Chinese. So that's what's going on. And that's the game plan. They want to control the world economy by the year, twenty twenty six twenty thirty at the latest, but twenty twenty six you doubt that. If you doubt that you're dumber than they think you are. That's what's going on. So anyway, while we when you see that name think Chinese communist People's Liberation Army and think world domination and also you see that name think marks LaSalle university of Michigan. Mary sue Coleman university of Michigan aid and abet useful idiots to the Chinese communist party straight up. One hundred percent as our probably nine point nine percent are excuse me ninety nine point nine nine nine nine nine nine nine percent of American universities that want Chinese to come over and study at their university. And remember that the board of regents at all these universities. Oh, man. Are they stupid or what they really are? And the thing is is that they're so stupid. They don't know what they don't know. They listen to this. That's crazy talk. Nothing. And you're aiding and abetting them coming over here. And doing what they're about to do here in the next ten fifteen years. So let's get into this anti second amendment. Put your children's lives at risk. That I sort of got into yesterday. How much further we need to go. But this pretty much be speaks all of what's going on in the school system. In America, Pennsylvania school district has told they had what was called an arm teacher policy. And there's no other way to protect children. None zero not. I mean to this day. There's none nothing's come out since this. What does shooting in Florida and pick a shooting? Nothing's happened going forward. That's made anybody any safer than the tried and true have a firearm. So that you can take down the bad guy before he takes you down. That's it. Well, Pennsylvania school district. They voted to suspend what's called the armed teacher policy. This was a couple of days ago. Something called Tomek LA area school. They voted seven to one so seven people seven people voted to put the children in a lethal threat hanging over their head every day with no way out of it. The sort of Damocles hanging by a hair right above their head. I said, let's do it. Yeah. Hey, hang up there, man. Yeah. That's it one person voted against it. And they said, no, it's insane. What down as an, you know, seven to one. That's kind of a Senate thing doesn't it? We have to have seventy votes or else. Well, actually, they do for treaties. I digress. Temo Tamakwe school district or do they have to have seventy five. That's where I'm off on. I don't I don't know. I think the Senate what they're gonna do a treaty with another sovereign state. What you're going to find these days? The Chinese out the and the UN, but if they're going to do I think they have to get to the seventy is it seventy five votes. Whatever tobacco hit. What times the game Tacoma school district approved the policy back in September two thousand eighteen where teachers and staff could carry district issue guns going through appropriate training. That's that's smart. That's smart parents in the Tacoma area association union filed separate lawsuits now, I don't know we're going to get a little more into this. But I I'd be willing to bet one. American Civil Liberties globalist communist came in. And and said, I'm going to start something here. I'm going to take this down. We don't want people to be on. We don't people to ever be able to defend themselves. And that's what it's all about. It's not about safety with these guys. It's that they don't want you to be able to defend yourself. The parents lawsuit claimed the initiative endangered their community and broke state law Pennsylvania allows trained school resource. Officers are school policemen on campuses board member nNcholas Boyle, previously said the district did not receive pushback from the state for arming teachers. However, the district is believed to be the first in the state to pass an arm teacher policy. So they were head of the curve right while Boyle was the one member who wanted to keep the policy, gut Busta sky. We're just glad that they chose to make the right decision tonight to suspend the policy until the litigation is taken care of. And we're just hopeful we can have our day in court, and we can prove our case to make Y Education Association. President Frank weasel excuse me, I'm Frank Winslow said so francs for putting the children in harm's way. And what's his name? There was for keeping them safe. Nicholas. You get the gist discussions on and teachers intensified following the parkland shooting of February fourteenth two thousand eighteen yes. It did. President Donald Trump called on allowing school officials to carry guns after seventeen people died in the photo shooting. Yup. Marjory stoneman Douglas, high school public safety commission recommended arming teachers in a recent report. Wow. Did you hear about that on zombie media? I didn't either. Yeah. I'm telling you people Alami set for twelve thousand time the inmates are running the asylum. And it's time we stop them dead in their tracks. No pun intended. It's time we stopped them. This is crazy. You got a kid in school your kid think about this? Don't don't just brush this off. If you've got a kid in a public school every day. They're going into a target kills zone. L, but we have resource officers. Uh-huh. Okay. Here's one over here and one over there. What happens when somebody comes in the other part of the building that the resource offs officers nowhere near wouldn't it be better to have some type of trained resource armed teacher officer? Yeah. Like, maybe if you got staff, let's say just for example, let's say got twenty teachers how about ten of them ten top all twenty. But but at a minimum ten are armed and ready to roll and know how to do that every bit as good if not better than your armed resource officer. How about that? We don't learn anything doing. We really don't wanna say we take me kind by you. Not all of you were talking to an eight we the thinking baby. I'm decreasing my stack of papers. There was about. Thirty-second of an inch. We'll continue on. Decreasing of the stack of papers here on the edge. When we come back. When one of your major home appliances stops working you want someone with experience to fix it.
