"Tell You what centennial is one of the up and coming schools in that? City North Division. Take me through some of Columbus sports it's it's something that's I. Don't know that much about. Take me through what goes on during a normal season in Columbus Ohio USA? Well, you know you got I'm pretty busy in the fall because you've got. The Columbus crew soccer is still going on, and then they the summer. That's basically all I have, and I do too much with the Columbus Clippers. Don't have time. I usually have somebody else do that, but you know you got the clip? The crew and buckeyes running to save time in the blue jackets star in September so I'm doing that. That's one of my beat. That keeps me busy at every just about every home game, less there's a conflict with Ohio fater dating or something But Columbus sports to do. There's a lot of sports to cover here. obviously as you know, seven been nothing to cover since I think the last event I covered was the flies when they play. George Washington and I would probably somebody over there, and they said what are you doing and so I'm keeping big I'm still doing interviews on the phone like this and I've done some interviews with some players and some hall of famers and stuff like that but clump sports when things are going, okay I, it's pretty vibrant. Vibrant, because you'd be surprised when the crew might be playing a game, they have twenty thousand people the blue bag of my have a game in the same day, and they'll have twenty there about eighteen thousand people, and then the Buckeyes. They're playing the same day. They'll have one hundred thousand people, so you know sometimes you exports running together, and they're and and all of them have plenty of people that like those teams, so you know when I first came here in Columbus and nineteen seventy. All we had was the Buckeyes. And the Clippers we did not have a crew, and we did not have the blue jackets, and that is really made this. This town very attractive to a lot of people. Because now we got pro sports and you know there was talk about as maybe getting an NBA development team, but I. don't know if that happened because. Canton's got one, but that would be nice if we can have the NBA developmentally, that'd be nice or Wnba team or something like that, but I think we've got enough sports here. I mean there is also the destroyers for two spells next year. They're supposed to come in with another indoor football team and. May I really wished last year. That destroyer steamed one more than one game. 'cause you know it was great to have them back in Columbus. Were I missed them when they left before.

"A nationwide arena. Westside Jeff is my name, by the way, speaking nationwide arena, we have overtime Iowa and Tennessee going into OT that on the heels of overtime incredible. Because Iowa rallied back after Tennessee led the game at one point by twenty five points. It's March madness. That's why they call it madness. March madness overtime. So that'll be interesting. To see coming up game two this afternoon downtown. Columbus is going to be North Carolina taking on Washington that's scheduled for two forty PM. But trust me, it'll go late in the neck because this overtime. So I look I came to price starter closer to around three thirty or so again, Tennessee and Iowa in March madness in overtime at nationwide arena. Westside Jeff is my name. I just gave you a common sense opinion on current events last night. If you played the Powerball last night, you lost you did not win because nobody won the Powerball so afternoon hitting all the numbers and Saturday night's drawing. The top prize is jumped to seven hundred and fifty million dollars seven hundred and fifty million bucks. Lot of money coming up for the Powerball on Wednesday night that could put it as the fourth highest lottery jackpot payout in the history of lottery payouts. Should be interesting. So get your tickets now makes me. I think that when you talk about March, madness and basketball, go nationwide arena and seven hundred fifty million dollars in a lot of money. You could do a lot of things. So I ask you love to hear you love to hear your input your win seven hundred fifty million dollars. And you have to spend a large portion of that. Let's say on sports, you're going to spend a large portion of that is a consumer sports. What do you do? What's your dream? What do you do with that lottery? Winning. I tell you what I do Scott radio. Ask you in a minute bow what I do. I would make a year long push to see some of the greatest sporting events of all time. All right. Here's what I would do with seven hundred fifty million dollar jackpot. I would want to spend a year traveling around the country, and I'd wanna go to every major league baseball park for one game against their biggest rival I would go to every NFL stadium and hit one game against their biggest rival some of those would have to be improbably preseason. I'd want to go to every NHL stadium and watch one game against their biggest rival add want to go to an NBA all the NBA arenas and watch their biggest game against one of their rivals. Those four major league sports and one other thing I would tie that into. I'd buy a house in Augusta Georgia very close to the masters golf terming normal golfer, and I'd throw one helluva party. And I'd invite you down to it. I'd put TV's everywhere. I would have I would have a west side. Jeff party at the Gusta national just off the gusty, National Golf course, Scott Grady, I would personally fly you down and a private jet down. Down and back just for that. Then I'm going to root for you to win, sir. So that's what I would do wanna hit not just one event. I'd wanna hit again, major league baseball NFL NBA NHL all four sports and the course of one calendar year, if I could do it because the schedules would have to line up. I'd wanna hit one game home game for each one of the teams in those sports against a rival team. That means I travel a lot and I get to see every one of those four sports. That's what I would do. Scotty. What would you do? I I like it. My first thought was I was going to buy the Columbus Crew and move them to Austin, Texas, just for the heck of it. But then I thought no because then people would hate me forever. And I never come back to Ohio. So that scratched I think I would I would try to buy the Columbus clippers really forty one million dollars is what they're worth. Maybe I'd be like, you know, what I'm gonna give you fifty fifty million. It's yours, and I would just sit up my owners box and just love life. The only major. The minor league. Why not go for a major league team because I think I I actually enjoy minor league baseball more than I enjoy professional baseball. It's more fun. It's better atmosphere. So if you hit the pot the lottery jackpot, the Powerball this Wednesday. You're gonna take fifty million bucks and go by the Columbus clippers. I am just so you can go to every home game by season tickets at that point. But I want people like, hey, that's the one of the clippers. That's what I want. You just want to sit in your owners. Can I buy I Hartwick can I buy iheartradio? No you'd need. By the the majority shareholder. Can I be the majority shareholder? You know? I don't know you might you might be able to do it. And if you did what would you do? After after the zone was was was. Ripped away from me. I'd have a lot of fun. You put a sports talk station. We'll start there. That's probably what I would do. I. So that's a good question. Powerball. Nobody hit it last night. It looks to be the fourth highest jackpot of all time. If you're won the Powerball in Tyne back to sports because the NCWA March madness as downtown again university of Tennessee volunteers are playing against the Iowa Hawkeyes, and it's in the overtime right now in that game should be over here in the next fifteen twenty minutes or so. With them in town in this being a big sports weekend in Columbus. If you won the lottery, what do you do what do you do with that money? What would you? What's your dream? Again. My mind would be real simple. I would wanna hit every NFL stadium every MLB stadium every NHL stadium in an NBA stadium. I'd wanna go see one game and every one of those stadiums in one calendar year and I'd want to see him play against their rival opponent or a close rival opponent. Because the schedules would have to match up to half day ended exact in one calendar year. It's what I wanna do. And I'd buy a house in Augusta Georgia one helluva party. It'd be Westside Jeff party down at Augusta National Golf club for masters week. And I just enjoy a week of of the masters golf tournament. Eight to one WTVN that's eight to one ninety eight eighty six. Talking about the double March madness in town. Nobody hit the Powerball you.

"Erakat basketball event here tonight as well. So we got a lot of bearcat fans in the house, and it's time to hear from that. We open it up to questions from the audience in the second half hour of our shell. It looks like our buddy Dave is batting leadoff tonight. That's right. Dave question for the coach coach is that a is that a what kind of hat you wearing? They're kinda funny. You ask that kinda that kinda leads into my question. It's a little bit off the reservation. We'll keep a little light here. So since the first World Series is going on tonight. I wanna know if you had a team that you were pulling for I figure as you may not be up to date on staff. You've got Dan there to help out. Well, that's a Boston had I see over there. I can assure you. I'm not pulling for Boston LA bow being being that I am besides a reds fan. I also a Yankee fan. So so I got issues. Well, I grew up in Columbus. Okay. And they're far farm club was the Columbus clippers. So the only team game I could ever go to my parents take on diamond dog night. Yeah. We'd go to the Columbus clippers, you know. And I got to start off when I was a kid seeing Don Mattingly play nice. So he's with the Columbus clippers he became my favorite player ever. So I became a Yankee that's legit now. Then I became a dodger fan of low because he was the manager there. So they got rid of him. So I don't know who to root for. Yeah. You can go for the dodgers. That's fine. Now, I did a lot of minor league broadcast in Columbus. During those years. Did you used to ring that annoying bell? I don't know that we ever bought the valor had the bell. But I'm sure we did the Columbus clippers ring there. Yeah. I do. I remember that. I was there more for the hot dogs and then the baseball game, and that was the bell. Yep. They had this little song. And they would all ring these little cow bells, and it was torture. Yeah. If you are with the opposing team, and you were getting killed, which is usually the case they had some great teams back then. All right question. Yeah. We we answer that dodgers. He's writing for the dodgers. Dave. All right next question for the audience. Gary question for the coach. Yeah. Coach after all the disappointment and anger went away Saturday. I think you're you can talk about this play that play the way I looked at it. We're a young team, and we made a we played a young teams game. And we'll get better. And where this is going is the kids who are freshmen redshirt after eight weeks who do you like who someone that we should be on a radar? Well, I think there's a bunch of what you're seeing a little bit. Obviously, Desmond still a freshman. I think some of the freshmen wideouts are going to you're going to start seeing more than you're seeing a lot of them in special teams. And I mean, the Jay Sean Jackson's Alec pierces of the world, you know, meet you Harris as a kid that was out for all of camp. So he's kind of like almost like Desmond last year. Desmond missed all of camp last year because he kind of had a broken foot and a bad foot, and he was in a boot. And you miss you had a bad back. So he was a kid that is just now starting to get back into the mix. And you know, he's going to have one of those guys with those possible four games to be able to play and. You know? So I think offensively those guys and then the tailbacks are still young. They're still true freshman, we gotta do a better job at getting them in the game and get them in earlier, you know, so that they have some opportunities and keep Michael bit fresher and what he's doing. You know, and then Josh widely is now back, and we got to find a way to to kind of get him involved in use him as much as we possibly can. I understand he had a catch it practice last week. He had a big catch the end practice last week on the you know, what people would say fifty fifty balls, but it just seems to be the his or more like sixty forty or seventy thirty in his favor. So that's something that believe is going to be a weapon, and we're going to have to find a way even even in the last few weeks to to try to try to get him involved. Will we see a five tight end set? I'm not sure who's all gonna come out. Then maybe, but that is a group that is going to continue to get better and better, and there's going to be a lot opportunities for on a serious note on the the redshirt role that doesn't include a bowl game. Right. That does it could be a guy that's red shooting in his third year. It doesn't matter. It's still it's still there. Those four hundred still avail back to the crowd Ryan's got a question for you coach. Yeah. I know you kind of touched on this before. But have you ever been iced by the referees? Like that. No. I can honestly say that's the first time we've ever been ice by the referees. And I and I actually said that to him. I said now you're you're doing this to a freshman kicker. Just so, you know. And you know, I tried to get an explanation. So that we can get better at it. I think it's there is a whistle for play. When there's a stoppage in in, you know, whether there's a timeout or there's a stoppage a change of possession. There is a whistle for play. So all in all, you know, the whistle. I guess wasn't blown for play. But then again, I don't officially shouldn't leave the spot to give us the opportunity snap the football. So I think there's mechanics, I know we gotta look at it in our part. How do we get better? And it's one of those things that just got to be aware of that, you know, but I will always always remind the officials now pre-game let's say police do not leave the football until the ball is ready for play especially on field goals extra points any type of kicking kicking play. All right. We're going to squeeze in a time out more questions from the audience went we continue to look fickle radio show. Brought to you by the healthcare management group. Greater.

"And i i mean i'm not gonna stop rooting for the tigers churn i moved to call i'm not a group for the columbus clippers they were down the certainly if you're a aaa team of the yankees think there were the yankees yeah yeah there at the time that there um so yeah all my new pals there were either reds fans are indians fans and and i i clung to might tiger fandom and shortly after was rewarded in 1968 and when i was thirteen and had when i used to call the greatest world series of all time but it's a little tough after the ah after the cubs indians series out of which and in this year's to i mean this yes to what would like watching ver lander winner near you here was that was ahead had a head bob outside right there it was painful it was uh i mean i w when when the trade happened you know but one second before midnight on i was really in sharm in i felt like you know my girlfriend a broken up with mir something and and i thought while i can't root for him somewhere else i mean i i mean i've you know i know him we've run out a little bit he's a great guy but i said i can't how can i root for him wearing you know the lone star on his hat but then i you know the first time i watched that was like go jv and i know you know certainly when he's doing against the yankees i'm sure that well that there's at dinner that help to and because that was that was awesome obviously you know you know i'm i'm i'm a new yorker and he yankee fan but just watching very lander in this day and age of where pitchers leave after five and a third because some manager has the numbers about third time through the order i let you answer righty especially in the postseason after two and a third right and that we saw that for the dodgers actually and again game two against the astros just seen some body sane purity's hit it in the ninth inning when i i mean you just don't see that much noah was like it was like segue segue gas they jack more back i.
