"The gathering that took place outside the Lincoln memorial the next day I, mean literally thousands and thousands of Americans all gathered. But I would say in both cases, the American people were exercising those God given rights enshrined in our Constitution to peaceably assemble. We did it on the South Lawn on Thursday night. We did it. They did it outside the Lincoln Memorial on Friday now here's the. Reality Cove it in the United States is on the way except for hot spots where his not hit before that is the way the Cobra always works and anybody who tells you what we're experiencing. The United States is the second wave is ignorant places that got hit hard as I've been saying for literally wants maybe since the outset please the got hit hard have not been hit again. I've been advocating for a position of of what they call controlled avalanche for very long time suggesting that if younger people get this and pass it along to other younger people that's not a bad thing. That's a good thing. It removes vectors of infection. And then wanted his moved through our community, it seems to basically done. And what we are watching right now across the United States is the fact that the stuff is on the wane. Okay. We are seeing a decline in number of diagnosed new cases in California in Texas in Florida. In New York Okay New York is still completely shut down yesterday the reported nine total deaths across the entire state of which has twenty million people in it. Georgia number of diagnosed cases is down Arizona its way down they had fourteen deaths yesterday in Arizona, and again that's ARA trailing their both a they're a lagging indicator rights of if if there is a wave of cases, you're not going to the deaths until later. So it's basically died down already in New York in New Jersey in Georgia, it's dying down now in Arizona is down now in California. It's starting to die down now and you can see it in all the charts. And so people are moving toward reopening but the problem is that everybody in the political world wants to claim that the reason that all of this happened is because they took significant lockdown measures that is not correct. The lockdown measures almost nothing to do with this all lockdown can do is delay the spread for a small amount of time, and then as soon as you release a little bit, you get the spread again. lockdowns did not cause decline lockdowns in fact were taken were undertaken after the spread. That's why whenever you're Andrew Cuomo say well, you know I talked about masking and then I talked about locking down he locked down late he masked way late it was already well seated in the population. By the time he locked down a mass it had nothing to do with the policies that Andrew Cuomo pursued in. New York, it has nothing to do with the policies. Phil. Murphy pursued in New Jersey. All you can basically do is protected the the elderly and the vulnerable. That's pretty much all you can do but here's the problem. A lot of people are invested in the idea that there lockdown policies. Are What caused their success against Kovin, and so now they have no political incentive to relieve the lockdown policies and that's what you're seeing with Andrew Cuomo again, the number of cases in all. New York yesterday. Again, I'm looking at the stats right now this is from world dominators, the number of cases in Manhattan yesterday, which is a population of one point, six, million people. There were forty six diagnosed cases and zero new depths, yesterday Manhattan Zero, and they are still locked down and apparently they have no plans to reopen the restaurants until there's a vaccine. Which is completely insane. because. You may bring about a vaccine next year and half the people may not take it. In frankly I see no purpose to me giving a vaccine for Kobe to my four year old. I. Don't purpose is probably safer for my kids get Cova than to actually get the vaccine for Kobe. So what what are we talking about here? We're just GONNA continue to lockdown until the end of time. Then, there are the states that don't actually have investment in lockdowns. In here, talking a couple of states one that never locked down and one the did lockdown but then has the governor that is smart enough to recognize that lockdowns are not particularly good policy. So the state never lockdown is Florida Florida instead allowed local authorities to shut restaurants or limit attendance in restaurants that allowed local authorities to pursue mass mandates, but they treated different areas of Florida differently and Florida whether this thing significantly better like much much much better than a comparable population in New York. At the number of deaths per million in New York. I the number of deaths per million in Florida for example, there's an extraordinary disparity. If we still let's just look at the deaths per million population right now. So here are the top ten states in terms of deaths per million population. It goes at New Jersey New York Massachusetts Connecticut Louisiana Rhode Island District of Columbia Mississippi Arizona clocks in at ninth then Michigan Illinois Maryland Delaware Pennsylvania Georgia and Florida Florida clocks in at Number Sixteen Number Sixteen Okay Florida did it wrong except for have largely didn't do it wrong Florida protected the nursing homes Florida had people tested before they went into the nursing homes and it turns out that wants population has experienced a significant check. Then it wanes. As it runs through the Population Ron Santa's yesterday. He said, you know what? We're not locking down ever again we're down there. We're not doing lockdowns again to Santa's happens to be somebody who actually is data driven unlike I understand how you can say you're following the science and places like New York when you are literally suggesting that you never reopened when you had nine deaths from Kobe gay lagging indicator in a state of twenty million. People by what metric by what metric can you ever reopened under those circumstances? I'm not sure there is a cause of death in New York that takes less than nine people a day like.

"Finebaum Show podcast, laugh. Mike is up next in Baton Rouge and good afternoon. Mike. Oh Hey, got just a couple of things real quick and Blah perfectly by saying I. always my circle of people I run around with trying to be the devil's advocate. Kinda guy and look at every angle. At what point does a news in a garage of race car? Why is that FBI were just curious? Well. Because of the here's here's what you had to do in in in the bubble Wallace case you have to go back. What's the first time we heard about NASCAR released a statement you know talking about. It's a heinous act and the person that will be. Expurgated, from NASCAR. Beyond the end of his life, to glides, and that that's how the story began, and then everyone started raging and talking about. What did man and how it was, and then we saw Talladega yesterday, so NASCAR created the story. Yeah, they did and I just think that it's. Just say. We have bigger fish to FRY when it comes to FBI. That's neither here nor there, but I grew. mean. Fifteen FBI agents on the story. That's what. As a taxpayer money that call anyway with this kid. He's from Columbia Mississippi. Is that right? Correct I think he is, and what what what? What classification years junior or Sophomore? I would I. Think I think I think this is his last year. Okay, so he's been playing football Mississippi for high school, Junior, high school and college eight. Yes okay from this now. He decides he don't WanNa. Play football because of a flag keeping mine I'm from Louisiana I I'm from a small town growing up as Redneck as they come I. don't own a flag. Don't care about to flag I just think it's kind of like the same thing with Gundy with this Oa. I didn't know what. Stood for the kid you know was crying about that was from Canada. All places imagine our Poxy, and that I just wanted to say this I'm going to hang up. You know you're talking about brees on. Don't vote Mississippi I. Don't know. Don't know tape breeze, but almost throw out a couple of things in this came from a very good friend of mine that I play golf with for the last several years, and he's African American and he told me the other day after we finish, we got to talking about black lives. Matter all this stuff. He said I'M GONNA. Tell you guys something. He said Y'all GonNa. Be shocked a little bit, or maybe you won't be, but he said. He said me as a as a black man. He's like I. embarrassed by what's going on in this country. I said, what are you talking about? Of course, everybody inches up on their seat to listen to him. and. He says there's so many other things in this country besides black. Black in in in our in our society, getting getting mistreated by the COPS, he said. For no other resume anytime. Look at and I did this week in Chicago? One hundred shot a three year old and a fourteen year old child killed. He said this. Sunday we were talking about this was over the weekend he said. Do you think they'll be any marcus for that? Three year old and that fourteen year old? Seventy eight percent. Of Black children born in this country or out of wedlock, eighty percent of those never know father figure. Maybe that's the way the why tape breeze and other people aren't chomping at the bit over confederate flag that nobody really cares about I. Thanks for the call, Mike. We've got an update now on the on the bubble, Wallace. This is from Nascar. AGAIN REMEMBER NASCAR put out the initial statement that created this NASCAR statement. The FBI has. Its investigation at Talladega superspeedway in determine that bubble wallace was not the target. Of A hate crime. The F. B. I. Report Concludes and Photographic Evidence Confirms. That the garage door pull rope fashioned like a news had been position there. Since as early as last fall. This was obviously well before the forty-three team's arrival in garage assignment. We appreciate the FBI as quick and thorough investigation and are thankful to learn that this was not an intentional racist act against Bubba. Steadfast commitment Again. People are going to blame a lot of folks for this. ULTIMATELY BLAME NASCAR. I mean this. This may be as dumb mistake as I've ever seen. Shows you the the fragility of that organization right now. Let's continue with more phone calls and Charles is up next. Hey Charles go right ahead. Today Paul. Good Day to you. Thank you. Yes sir, a How born say? And? Been in Alabama for by a year. I worked as a place in thirty years in Tennessee. And free of my best friends were black. Tie You could. Pass, them to hip you, our anything and I reciprocate. Mum My question is. You know. Co and all this other stuff going on. A question is. If we do away with all confederate flags which. You Know I. It doesn't bother me. And they all do all the monuments. Is this GonNa pay anybody and Mike things better in this country. Well it all depends on who you're gonNA. Ask who you ask I think ultimately. This is a reaction. Charles, you know. There is a cultural reawakening in this country and and I think people Sometimes react to a moment in time. WHERE IN THEIR CHA- changes change results because of this when when perhaps it wouldn't have previously. Okay. I, just okay. I just WanNa say I'm me. Three and I've been through a lot of stuff and biased. Why appreciate you sharing that with us? great job yuan Let's continue with more calls and take Nike. Thank. You very much. Shannon is up next in Georgia, hey. Shannon Hi Paul how you doing. We're doing well, thanks. Called yesterday I told you that I saw all the media coverage on this news in the low in the garage was an attempt to divide the people and cause more racial isolation than harmony and by Gosh if I don't just think that's what happened. I it's it's it almost sickens me all to be quite honest, and and you know I. I read an article this morning, but the SBA viewership was down below five hundred thousand people for was normally a pretty big turn out I believe that I will. Sports are starting to to push away. Their core audience and stuff like this. Is, it's what's doing all. Well I. Think you make a lot of sense I really do. I mean you know you know I? I've become disenfranchised with the NFL. for for different things that we won't even have to get into. I've and Paul everybody has a right to be heard, and everybody has a right to be treated fairly, and there's no place for racial hate in this world. I have no problem with them. At long the flag Nascar Vince an you and I talked about this four. I understand that, but this thing was run with and people were made to fill like hypocrites and racist, just because of their ethnicity or their race, and and there's some folks at work for ESPN. That ozier viewers some apologies. I hear you. I mean am I wrong Paul? No, you're not. But, but but we'll, and you know exactly who I'm talking about. Of course I. Do we all those we'll? Those guys work here. Say is if you sir and I want to say by the way I'll miss you on sec Saturday mornings on SEC nation I did enjoy your excuse show.

"As his murder. Investigation slowly rolled forward detective. Dmitri Reuven developed a certain affection for Eric Samoa. The Guy He'd never met the successful charismatic. Charming victim you kept a picture in your desk at work just to remind you we call them the most interesting man in the world. That was the name of this case. And I've always had a picture of Eric that just kind of remind me to to keep going and keep walking case. Unfortunately what wasn't next to Eric's photo on Ruben's death was any hard evidence against Katrina ban. The woman Reuven thought knew more than she was telling about Eric's murder. He decided to take yet another crack at his suspect and along with another detective. Reuven paid Katrina a visit of in Baltimore for the most part her story. Remain the same but Katrina was also on guard and defensive. Don't aware are cassie. Instead of focusing on the detectives to own Katrina should have paid more attention to their clothing. Detective Reuven secretly had a recorder in his pocket. And that's when I asked her about owning any guns on gun. Have you fired armed with a warrant? Reuven searched Katrina 's apartment but did not find a gun. He seized her phone and computer. But cops didn't find anything incriminating gun registered to her anywhere now and no sign that you've ever owned one at any point in their lives crack. Reuven kept going. I subpoenaed her bank records on credit card records just to see if she purchased any ammunition somewhere dune void. Now roosen didn't stop there. He kept looking everywhere he even went. All the way to Katrina is hometown in Mississippi where he learned something interesting. I talked our dad who said that he had guns multiple guns in the house and that Katrina had shotguns before so we knew she lied but that is no criminal. Offense still reuven was certain he could eventually find something concrete and he kept looking. Weeks passed then months. I think that's probably the toughest thing about this job as if it goes on Sol. You've really you're letting the family right exactly and especially families that do stand contact with you. Eric's family was eager for answers. They were not shy about letting reuven though that he gets probably daily phone calls from each one of us and he was so patient in just explaining. Remember so you maybe like one of you could call me and tell other people and you look at your phone you like. You don't even want to answer because you have no news. It's the saying that it was last week. We think we know who did it. But we can't prove it right now may two thousand thirteen. The one year anniversary of Eric's murder approached and frankly the investigation had come to a standstill. Reuven wasn't just angry. He was frustrated. He needed to make something happen. Reuven thought about the gun that killed Eric and he knew a lot of handguns. Just like it were already in. Police custody all across the D. C. Area. He decided to examine all of them. It was an immense task. He began in Montgomery County side decided to look at all three eighty s ricard pacheer which had been hill. Manny it was about sixty guns ruin. Comb through the records for each of those guns. Most seized by cops traffic stops or drug busts but none matched up until reuven read the second to last file it was handgun number fifty nine out of sixty. It was a gun turned in by a tourist from Montana who had spotted at lying by the side of the beltway. Dc's most traveled road. The only reason the man saw was because he was parked in DC's famous bumper to bumper traffic. It was recovered on the day after we found his body It was a short distance away from a crime scene and I was like just as gone. This makes sense. This is like succeeding against unbelievable. Odds one in a million. The gun was a mess missing most of its components and it looked as if it might have been run over after it hit the pavement but the barrel intact using spare parts. The police firearms lab reassembled the weapon and test fired at the result. A close match to the bullet that killed Eric Samoa and on the gun a serial number from it ruined. Learn something else. Where was it originally sold assault at a pawn shop in Columbia Mississippi? Why was that a big deal because that little pawn shop was just a few miles down the road from Silver Creek Mississippi which was the hometown of Katrina Ban. Riven just couldn't buy that as a coincidence so he took another trip down to Mississippi this time to track down the guns original owner which was hard than it might sound. This had multiple multiple owners. It would take me thirty minutes just to persuade somebody to talk to me was because in Mississippi. You sound like a stranger. It's so weird. Possibly sound like a stranger also. Nobody wants to talk about guns. They always think that I'm there to get him in. Trouble was a lot of shoe leather. And Reuven still. Didn't have a solid link to Katrina. It would take some persuading for me to even have people talk to me but slowly. The persuasion paid off and each would tell us had a four year. And then opponent at this pawnshop after interviewing six former owners of the gun we arrived at a pawnshop that bought and sold it sometime around two thousand three so the owner here like we kept our records and diaper boxes in the back of the shed and the rat Sweden on them so we decided to just send them to the ATF. Reuven offered to come look through those diaper boxes the response from the ATF. Thanks but no. Thanks the ATF. Agent was she just saying just let us take care of it so we left Mississippi really nothing. Reuven returned to Maryland wondering if he'd hit another dead aunt he wondered for about a week. It was late June now more than a year since Eric was murdered when an. Atf agent called back found these diaper boxes. We've found these records and we'll fax now receipt. So I was waiting the fax machine to facts game through looked at the name and it was Katrina Ban. She was the last purchase that hang on. And you got. Oh Yeah. That was pretty incredible. I I was literally jumping up and down. Now he just had the Lasso Katrina ban easy. You decide it would be. It wouldn't be like this. It wouldn't be was Katrina van a Monday night girl. A girl who you do not take out and do not show off in you. Do not introduce your friends. She has her purposes and will slap a motive for murder..

Where I could not do anything only thing I could do is take care of myself drinking say off, you know, I could not clean house cook buy groceries. I couldn't do anything just normal daily activities. Right. I could not do it. Let me ask you something. Did you stop anywhere else before you came to Benatti? Did you go to another doctor's office? It okay. I went to a local about thirty miles from here. Okay. Because I live in a small town, one about thirty miles from here and to electric with had no surgeon. Sure. What did they say? What did that doctor say? Well, I didn't actually get to say the neurosurgeon himself, I had to say nurse practitioner that was my initial visit over the MRI and all the results of Mateos detail may, you know, what needs to be done and explain things to me, and I really did not get that the nurse practitioner did not go into details. He said I could not speak to the surgeon himself. Unless I went ahead and scheduled surgery and being he would stick his head in the door. Okay. And he all he would tell me Voy to hold here and holes there. Okay. Now, what that meant I don't know, he kind of put his hands up in the air, and he did have a little a skeleton of a bag, but, you know, I didn't know I mean, I know what I was looking at, but he did not have any more explanation. Yeah. I see what the hell's would do why where exactly he was not really. Oh, he did not have a good debate side manner. He actually were they talk about putting fusion doing. No. You're good as mine. What I've got? I don't he did not go into details with me. Well, apparently the skeleton that was there were previous patients waiting to see him. But just to do to brevity of the show. How did you find Benatti? My husband actually had mentioned it to my brother-in-law that my back making surgery. And my brother in law, and how he found out about the naughtiest food. I don't know but he actually took his son, and it was about twenty plus years ago, down there, someone had told him about play, and he had surgery, then. Right. And it's still doing today with this. Fax fantastic been. And he has no back problem. He's doing fantastic. So my bug off said to my husband twenty gotta type or you've got to take her down there to Benatti institution. Let's put you in the Benatti institute, and you have that impersonal valuation. You feel like they understood where the source of your pain was absolutely. And I got all details. More details than what and you go to the doctor lemon person like make it even absorb. And you were there with the doctor and my right. Yes. Oh, yes. How was he come in there and sit down he explained he just started going over? Everything headed up on the monitor, you know, from, you know, on my chest and stuff and rays, and he had a copy of Myanmar is. And he went over everything from start to finish all the details and telling me all of the pros and cons. And of course, then he asked me, did, I have any questions and I really didn't you know he had asked. Hey, excuse me, answered more than what I could ask him. You know, more than what I would have known to ask him. Yes. And I was just so. Grateful to have the information as to what truly really was going on. I band my back. Rheumatologist tell me what he could. You know what he saw? Sure. Oh my MRI, but the information that I've received from the surgeon at the Benatti institute was just in more to amazing. I mean I felt like you know, I was he was just treat me just like I don't know how to explain it. Treat me like I was, you know, a member family. You know what I'm saying a member of his family. Everyone did their for that goes and everybody did showed the most deepen deepest care, and we're so informative and oh, I don't know. It was just such a heart woman place. We'll let let me ask you in, in the OR. They use something called conscious IV sedation. And you know it affects everyone differently. Some people remember very vividly everything in some. Kinda remember a little bit. But they, they set the tubes. And then once they're there, they bring the patient up. And they're interactive. So what was that experience? Like did you watch? Well, actually I didn't watch. I couldn't watch because aware contact. Okay. So a south something I could see a monitor planning or, you know, some equipment can tell you where I was working at okay. Oh, I didn't know what it was. It was just kind of, you know, a blur to me, and I could tell somebody was there with me, I could say, you know, some scripts, and then I could hear talking and of course, whenever I was asked, you know, fail anything here are, you know, if I could answer my back my leg, you know. And then as soon as I said that, you know, then you know that that hanging was over during the surgery, it was over during surgery. Okay. Ma'am, it was over during the surgery, I was just repeating. Well, I guess when the newest surgeon would touch young those areas that I was having trouble with, you know, I was he wanted me a man wanted me to be able to tell him as a touch places. You know what? What part of my body hurt? Correct. I was able to tell him that I was alert enough. I, I could tell him back on my leg, you know. And it was over the just like I mean yeah the snap your fingers, you know, that was his back leg. And then I just try to be try to be more conscious. What was going on? But mine was not very vivid does. Okay. And how when did you notice the relief of the pain that brought you in that agonizing pain, obviously, you're going to have surgery surgical site pain, because they do make a cut, but the actual agonizing pain when did you notice that lift, right? Whenever in, in recovery when they had made to get involved. Yeah, I know hurt. I didn't have that pain. I was smelling from air to air and tears rolling. I was just so happy. I walked the length of the cover. We learned. No from one while to the next wall, and I did not hurt. I did not have that pain. When I went in there, I did not have it. I left mccoubrey. I walked out of the Benatti got in my car. My husband out the door and somebody with the from the Benatti state was with, of course, a walk at there, must have got in my car, and went to my hotel, motel, and I actually did not even have pain. I don't I didn't have surgical pain. All I have is pain. I did not have. I wanna I had deep soreness. We'll deep soul on it. And that was when I moved get up and down or a well, I have to walk for exercise, right? But far as pain, I didn't have pain. I didn't have any. There you go. I did not have any after my surgery. It was awesome. Well, I'm so I'm so glad that. You were referred to Benatti and you were able to finally get the relief of the agonizing pain that you were suffering. Thank you so much for coming on the show and sharing your story of recovery, because there's people just like you that are listening and watching that would understand completely what you're talking about. And if they're suffering, they need to know that there is true pain resolution, and that's what the Benatti spine procedure. So thank you so much thing on the thanks not take to you Bye-bye.
