"Because of how Colton Haynes looks, you know, that chiseled face, his square jaw. Because of that, Hollywood decided very quickly that he was a leading man. He was a jock, he was an asshole, those are the roles they wanted him to play, and as he was told, all of that meant that he could not be gay. So back into the closet he went. This is something that I didn't know about Colton before reading his book. I didn't know that growing up, he was an out proud, loudly gay teenager, and all that had to change when he started acting. He's best known today for having been on hit shows like teen wolf and arrow. Now, when Colton.

"Clients and new customers. And we went straight to three 6 and 12 months. And they had a prepay, and there was no discount from the monthly to the three month. We just said that's where we're going to start. And we figured we're going to sell a third of new sales as we did the previous month. But hey, we have the cash and we have more time because we're onboarding less clients and we have less work. And now we're able to kind of get better at that process. Well, little did we know we got to the end of the month and we sold, I think, like three or four more deals in the month beforehand and we just tripled our cash flow, unexpectedly. So that was that was the moment where we had this cash flow solution to be able to start scaling and hiring people and bringing them on just by getting our clients to prepay with expected services and trust that we built up over time. And building that trust took a lot of testimonial videos and a lot of going out and meeting with clients and getting those references and I mean a lot goes into that building a brand and trust, you can share it and display through digital marketing. And I think that played a big role too, but asking your clients for capital. Sometimes that worked for us. And I think it's something that we don't look to quick enough because I think there's so many startups and stuff we're looking to raise capital outside. But think about asking your customers and if you're providing a solid product that you that they have the expectation of using long-term and you give them something to do that, I think it's really a no brainer for them if that trust is there. Now Colton, I want to ask you in a minute here, some pitfalls to avoid when looking for outside investments because there's obviously some things that you can do wrong and maybe you did do wrong and some lessons you learn and some advice for fire nation. But first, I want to go through this lead generation thing fire nation. Let's figure out Lee Jen. What did Colton do? Well, he figured out that he could DM people on Instagram and from that he could get people on the phone. Now, guess what? You figure out your numbers. It's always a numbers game. How many sales do you want per day? Okay, you have that number now. How many people do you need to talk to on the phone if you want to close that number of sales? Okay, now you have that number. Now how many people do you need to DM to get that number of calls booked? Okay, now you have that number. Guess what? Now go send that number of DMs. It's a numbers game period. So Colton kind of brings us back again to how you actually went through this process of increasing your cash flow without having to go to those outside investments..

"Colton, say what's up to fire nation and share something interesting about yourself that most people don't know. What's up fire nation? Really excited to be here. Interesting thing about me, I grew up restoring a lot of classic cars with my dad. Always finding a problem trying to find a solution for it. I think that's really what got me into that mindset of trying to think outside the box. And it's something I still enjoy today a lot. You know, I just love how we live in this world where we have such varying interests. I mean, if you were to tell me what my version of purgatory is, it would probably be handing me a socket wrench and going to fix any kind of a car. Like I literally will go weeks without even getting into a car and I'll be happy about that, but some people just love that. And I just love the varying degrees of inspirations and passions that we have. I mean, is this something that you still kind of foresee you doing as you enter your later years golden? Yeah, I mean, I think whenever I get some extra time, it's always fun to spend that in the garage, especially when you're working on something with someone else you enjoy company with..

"As you know, and so I got to know, what have you learned doing your podcast? It's called the heart of horsemanship. Yeah, so our podcast, I think one of the biggest things I've learned is how powerful connecting with people through audio is. There's so many horse people are so busy or going to the bar and we're trying to get back to the house. Take care of the kids. And so many people are willing to listen to that content while they're picking their horses stall or going out for a ride and it's just been a wonderful way to keep connecting with more and more horse people. While they're on the go. Versus we don't have that luxury when you're depending on video so often. Welcome to our world Colton. That's the reason we've been doing this for 12 years. Is that reason right there?.

"Welker. Colton. Congratulations. You make it to the major leagues hasn't really sunk in yet. Yeah, I'd say so. It's uh, definitely a dream Come true. And just an honor to be out here with these guys, and, uh, You know, just just look at the stadium right now. I'm just very excited to get going That, uh, you know, it's definitely just a blessing. What were the emotions yesterday when you made that pinch hitting appearance pretty overwhelming. Honestly, I don't know if my heart be that fast in a long time, but definitely good emotions and just excitement. And, uh, Like I said, Just a dream come true. How did you try and keep yourself calm? Oh, just kind of do what I always do. You know, just that I'm heading doing something I love and that I, You know, I know I can do so kind of just, you know, playing the game playing the game? Sure. And you've done it so so long in your career, but just not at this level, and you nearly hit it out. Did you think like maybe it had a chance? I haven't really hit a chord as much, but I hate it pretty good. So I thought I thought at least a double, but, uh, I think it was dug her out there. He made a good play. Yeah, it's a big ballpark to. Of course, Colton. Welker is with us. Colton. What's the journey been like for you? I mean, when you're when you're a draft pick, and then you work your way through the system and you get a little bit closer. To seeing the major leagues. How did that keep motivating? You just kind of for this moment right now, You know, it's just knowing that you know this is all worth it and how amazing the big leagues really is, And it's kind of you know what? Everyone talks about it. It's really that That's special. And you know, just this knowing that you can achieve this dream, you know, keeping your head down, working hard and you know, it really does pay off last year. Of course. I mean, it was just such a lost year for so many guys. How were you able to work through that? I just got really, you know, got into the weight room. Uh, you know, cut my mental side sharp, knowing that we were going to eventually come back and play and then I needed to be ready. So, uh, actually got a lot out of it. So which was good. I enjoyed it. And what about a lesson or so, in perseverance this year with some of the adversity you face, I would imagine that That took some mental fortitude. No doubt. Yeah, that was definitely very hard, very hard, mostly on me, but, uh, just coming back home back out of it now and getting the call. You know, it just shows that, uh, you know, even like the lowest points you know they can they can you know it gets brighter. There's like dammit Tunnel and You know, I'm just excited to be here. No doubt Final few moments with Rocky's infielder Colton Welker. So getting here is one thing And now doing what you can I would imagine. It's like, Hey, I'll feel any role that's needed, right? Uh, no doubt. I'm going to. You know everything These guys can at my highest potential, and, you know, get my all tell me a little bit about your infield positions. Third base, I guess would be considered your natural position, right? But you can play over there first. We saw that in spring training. Yeah, I'm extremely comfortable over there first. Now and, uh You know Thirds definitely. Definitely might've been my position for a while. But I feel great at first face as well. Well, keep it rolling. It's great to have you with the Rockies. Thank you for the time. Thank you guys. That's Colton..

"Was like kit and that was it that was i was like. I can leave school doing doing this. So that was kind of as far as drifted into comedy was went in In high school again. This has a basketball tien. I was playing basketball for the high school team. But then this thing called comedy sports came league. It's short form comedy show and Went to high school with the knicks schwarzen- and so we were buddies then and he was like. Oh we should do. This thing called comedy sports and so we went. Check it out there like. Oh that's really fine. I want to do it. But it it Hers the same time as basketball practice was. And so i quit. The team was like. I'm gonna do comedy sports and it was sort of like that kind of like big choice. You know like when your kids like you start committing to something you just keep doubling down on it and so it was like you know that was it already committed that i was gonna get out of school early to perform and then i quit basketball to make sure i do. Comedy had to commit to the rest. That's funny. I'm like i relate to the basketball and like we didn't have comedies or anything like that. We had theater. My high school was like i like would only get the one liners. I like was in the play. Because they're like well. You're the captain of the basketball team. So you can't be here. And i'm like i. That sounded like a that. Sounds a little bitter on their work. Work ask like bring those sweet threes over here. You still ball out here. Do you like scrimmage of all. I mean i'll shoot around. I probably would. I mean maybe. I play like a half court game but you know i got. I got kids and older. And i got like shit i have to. I can't i can't like i can't i can't roll my ankle and not be able to walk for like three days like that's just not a thing that is available for me so I would love to ball yet. Jumping up you know as high as i can with another guy who is also not a professional athlete jumping. Try to jump. this is they can assist dangerous muse. it is trust from experience. I agree absolutely sorry. What is sweet three. A sweet three is a three point. Shot is just like sweet. Yeah okay just like you know. It's like newton. Do you plan to that comedy. League do y- do. What was your team. Islas love. i'm with the lucille ballers. Okay mccarthy coach team for a little bit. I think yeah i was like i feel like i remember looking team once as well. Yeah when i. When i first started with like when like fran and darcy and marcy a lot of a lot of people were on it in the beginning but then i think it just got to. It just was crazy real bad. I came in and coach the beginning. And then i came coach like a little bit later. And there was like these girls with tattoos and shit all up on their arms and like full body sleeves and shit fucking. This is not an improv group. And away is still rolling. The amount of time that i had to be like like i was like i don't know have an audition or i'll shoot or whatever something like games are on tuesdays and they would like be super rough sometimes and i'm like listen. I go through from like look this space. This is how. I make my money this year. Fly megyn call the owls. I know it's women's basketball. And you're not like trying to be super hardcore. Nba referees your. Get it like just watch. My face and everybody else's face is like lease and he was like all they could not stand us at all like the actors for sure. But yeah it's it's it's definitely more. Nobody likes this when you go like. Hey this is how. I make my money ever work again that personnel. They'll always be like did they say won't go in and sell this act like forty years right there. We go okay enough about me back goal so so called and you were. You started doing comedy sports. Who double down and at some point. You moved to new york to start with you. Cb how's the transition. It was fun. I moved when i was pretty young Just a couple of years after high school on so many new comedy. Otherwise i took a trip to new york. And that's where. I i saw these v. Nah so i took a trip out there for a week. And then i went home back to minnesota and i was working with like doing improv there but i couldn't i kept thinking back on man. There are so many funny people out there. And so i started college but then i dropped out almost immediately and moved to move to new york And yeah and that was it. I worked at video stores and trying to wo which video stores did you work at. I worked at chins then. I don't know but yeah to work out west west village okay. The maid mondo kim's which right the one that everybody thinks about kim's but are pretty crazy too So there and i worked at ti. La video which was like another video store that was like the pattern it to boots video which was like That's a big thing that you know. This is the late nineties. You got a tour. This is access to to rentals import rentals in like an independent movie scene and bootlace all that stuff clerks aviv words. It was a hot time. We're was actually in video store in the office Eating a sandwich before. I was about to start work. When the manager of the store ahead manager was reading an article about net flicks and talking about how it was never gonna work. She's like this is the dumbest thing f people. Don't nobody because it shoot her points all made sense. She's like everybody who comes in here. Never knows what they want to watch. They don't have any idea. Did the magic mirror mirror exercise exactly. We didn't even need words. We it was wild. It was tony while to see you in person it really was and i think what you just said took both of us like wait a minute. We see each other every week. But oh oh. Because i was going to try to go. I have never been to disney. Just go right and that is correct. Yes the lines are ridiculous is like packed. Even though they say that it's like oh it's at a lower percentage that they normally would if feels i've been to disneyland a prepaid and it felt even more crowded. That's why see i need even from. I would say hold off for a while to yes. I would say because the summer. It's a summer so there's a lot of tourist outright now so after the summer's over to a news i still have to go to resume. What is the olympic sports. No there's no we don't know what right we're concerned. Yes also weirdly connected to a bunch of stuff that's been happening with the olympics. It's all right so the thing is Last year the olympic games are supposed to happen in tokyo tokyo twenty twenty which. Interestingly this is a side note in the movie akira. The animated master pyro predicted the olympic games to be in twenty twenty and that was when this huge like nuclear bomb went off. Select for us nerds. We're like oh wow. They predict insurgence anyway so hope it. They had to hansel the tokyo olympic games for twenty twenty and a postponement to twenty twenty one in july. However because of branding they still decided to call it. Olympics twenty twenty that there's however because there is currently in a sort of cove in nineteen scare happening right now in tokyo that a lot of a lot of yeah right because of the delta variant a lot of japanese people are really concerned about holding the olympic games there and would like to cancel it but The committee the olympic committee is trying to push forward and make the games happen because they were delayed for for a year. Already from jordan duffy that they might even if they do hold them. They're not going to have a spectators today. Jill whatever today's july yes. Thank you jordan But yeah so today literally. It came out that officially no spectators will be there like which is wild lake. That's like that's kinda like part of the fun of like it happening in your town in your city like figuring out a way to get a ticket and go because you don't have to fly you don't have to buy that big carbon cut stuff again. They did with the nba baseball. And maybe maybe but also no. Well you know. I got i got on a recorded. It's and my stories..

So when it cycles through new card, good find himself in front of this race right now. Great strategy by that Penske team, and you know we've seen them do that time and time again with all those They're gone on believing what happens if you get that free air he comes out and matter of fact, I'm gonna look at the fastest speed. He's not it will. Power has the fastest lap of the race at 2 24. But he had some good laughs. Come on. We got Colton heard coming in no sense getting held up anymore for him. He's coming on pit lane. "Coltie gesture revealed on good morning. America a big confession ran for myself for a long time. I hated myself for a long time. And i'm gay and i came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing and The next step in all of this this sort of letting people know. But i think overall the reason why now is because i got to a place where. I didn't think i was ever going to share this. I don't. I would have rather died than say i'm gay And i think that was sort of my wakeup call. You can hear the shaking and his voice. How scared and nervous. He was to Tell this news now. Colton revealed he had suicidal thoughts that led him to finally take control of his life and come to terms with the fact that he is gay and wanted to share that with the world. So what was your reaction to the news. Well i think for me. I when i watched the interview i felt so paint for him. I think so. Many people can resonate with this emotion. Right you are battling who you are for so long. And i think people around you are going to accept you and love you but you have to accept yourself first so i think his struggle resonates with so many people who are searching for their identity or searching for who they really are and i was actually just really sad that it took him this long like i always think back like you wanna live your life for yourself right you wanna live for yourself so i'm just happy that he finally made the decision to share this publicly and i also think is there anyone better to sit across then robin roberts to here. This is just so much empathy. So i just hope that people really rally behind him especially batch nation plans you know and just support him through this. This is not easy to go through publicly and good for him for finally speaking

He was £1.3 ounces. He and Nora fought hard to survive. It's been a tough slog for Colton 12 surgeries, he lost a good chunk of his small intestine. Both retinas were detached. He had glaucoma and lost all vision. At the age of three. He has been diagnosed with autism, and through it all, there has been music. His dad, Andy remembers. So at some point we got in a little Like a toddler little keyboard with, like, five keys on it. He would start to repeat sounds back, so we kind of thought he might have a knack for it. Music calmed him at night. So when he was little, he liked to have some bedtime music on in the evenings. You know, while he was falling asleep, so we did a lot of classical music. Keeton listen to songs over and over again, and he tried to replicate them. By the time he was six, he had an innate understanding of harmonics and chords. And it made him so happy. She, uh This is Colton now playing Chopin. I'm just Amazed that he's like that. He's my brother because he's so amazing at playing it. Listen as he turned Chopin into jazz. Older sister Morgan takes it all in, but actually getting to hear him play a whole song and thinking back toe. How far is comets? It's not sure enough. Now it's Z. He's just so amazing, and he's accomplished so much. McCurdy started taking.

"Asleep at the time. I can't even talk about it. But that being said I was reading some of the excerpts, and I just started going down this rabbit hole of how many amazing writers air out there. Writing great stuff. And then this is the book gets published. Colton Underwood's memoir from the Bachelor. Oh, my talking about the excruciating pain he went through after he split from Cassie Randolph. And the book is called the first time which is just so irritated. Isn't he the one that like five minutes after Corona virus was the thing he had said he'd gotten this? Yes. And then he holed up with her family while he was dealing with co vid. Lots of speculation that it wasn't real, that it was a total thirsty tempers talking of you. You know you guys were the tinfoil. I'm just saying. He's 25. He wrote his memoir, and, um, I love it a memoir 25. It feels like too much more like a man and the worst part about it was when I read about and not that I think the bachelor is real. Let's just be clear. But when I read about how Desperate. He was for fame that he, like, tried all these weaselly ways to get on. The shell. He just seems kind of weird. She's shaking her head and your dog s has good taste. I think your dog is horrified that you spend any time reading Colton Underwood's autobiography. Everyone's horrified by that. Listen, I have a lot of shame, and I will work through that before, too. But you're in the right place for that kind of shape. Trust exactly. You came to the right place. Thank you for all that dirt.
