You grow in the family which is also known as the family of love which is also known as children of god and it was a colt in reading the book. I discovered that. I didn't actually know what that meant. In like everything that entailed so just to begin with you. Give a short explanation to everyone of what that looked like for you. It's a lot more mundane. I think than people want it to be. I think people are expecting a lot of rituals maybe robes involved. It was living in with a lot of other people a lot of families. It was changing diapers constantly because sex colts make babies and very historical look male female gender roles right yet extremely very much reinforced. Not not just through the literature Jobs whenever you moved into a new house the boys would get setup. I mean i happen to think jackass was very good for culture and probably belongs in the louvre museum and the smithsonian in the hall of fame is one of the great things ever for me for lotteries in But also just that idea of the body and extremity and feeling like something is both very kind of disgusting and unembarrassed of being disgusting which is kinda gets into the territory of cults. 'cause cult is all about taboos and breaking them in exceeding them. But you also want to be too pretentious about delay. This is a movie. Where to people's penises get stuck in a chinese finger trap or where people projectile vomit or just absolute insane exchanges in public spaces and maybe was just my mood. Who who is david dobric. And why is he important. David break is one of the biggest names on youtube. He started his comedy career on vine back in around twenty teen and so his short form comedy is what made him really popular Over the past couple of years on youtube he's become one of the most widely followed widely talked about creators and his perception is that he's extremely beloved. He's well known for having a large friend group that he films doing a lot of comedic stunts in improv style skits and he uploads four minute twenty second blogs that have been wildly successful both from a social media standpoint as well as a monetary standpoint. You're my vague. Sense of him is that he's a goofy guy who enjoys having fun. I've seen a lot of videos of him showing off things. He's bought with the money that he's made being a youtube star like a crazy mansion. That has a funny dispenser. That what i think soda comes out of it or something. That and that's my sense of him So he's got this posse of people vlog squad which i had not heard of until this week so i feel very old. So tell us what you wrote about last week. And why it's important so over the past few months Former members of the log squad. His brother and his brother is a cult. Jessop who is Pardon my new series. That i started. But it's more like a hard full detective story and That's a good way for me to reach a bit wider market because women like my books a lot for the romance for the guys like the rough characters and some of the hard bowl techniques that are using stories. You said that you are a woman trapped in the body of a sweet southern bell at that you release your inner wild child creating gritty stories where the sparks fly Talk about talk about the pretty much sends me up. Should LeBron James have more MVP awards? Yes, but it's complicated
"All right fellas. Let's keep moving here. Big baller brand versus the king. Wanna talk about this game last night so lamelo basically saying to us. I mentioned this yesterday. That it's just another game playing lebron and as for lebron. It was just another day in the office. Thirty seven eighty six became then talked about a potential fifth. Mvp award lebron running or here my name of some of the best basketball players in the league this year again. it would mean a lot At my age What i'm able to do what i've been doing this whole season You know what our brains at a table every single night on both sides of the floor. it would mean a unbelievable thing for me personally. Is my career so to see what a chips may. Kyle kuzma reiterating. That sediment saying you should want eight or nine guys. We haven't had this conversation in a while. The last time i asked you max i think you had. Joel embiid as your guy. So where are you now. Who do you think's the biggest threat to lebron for. Mvp i used to be very clear. Lebron's the mvp. This moment and beat has now missed too much time. And he's presently hurt. Lebron is the mvp of the league at this moment. The easy answer to who's the biggest threat is james harden. He's playing the best basketball of his career. And that's really saying something and kyrie's been great and have been other great james harden you watch him now. You're watching basketball. Genius like the combination of scoring from anywhere on the floor at historically elite levels combined with the kind of court vision and unselfishness and setting up his teammates that he has shown in brooklyn in the service of winning has been remarkable however pardon also miss time in the beginning of the season because he won on the team. He's on the rockets and he was forcing his way off the rockets. So let me make a suggestion here. I considered yokich best offensive player in the league this year. I think stephen the biggest threat to lebron james. Mvp is damian. Lillard damian lillard a man that you have sat up here right in that spot and apologized to on. I take on this show for ignoring we. We all know him in apology. Dropped thirty six last night. Is he has a colt. Euro kind of status in the nba. Everyone loves this guy used the most clutch player in the league. That is you nets like unanimous consensus that please if not most clutch player damian lillard. He's averaging thirty points a night with assist everything you want. He has taken team decimated by injury destroyed by injury no mccollum until recently and their fourth in the western conference the fourth best record tied for fourth best in the western conference. He's the sentimental favourite. He's playing mvp level. He's shown leadership we all know he has not been recognized. Enough hardens miss time with his team and beads now hurt that you look at each candidate on other teams and lillard is at least as good as any of them. I think he's the biggest lebron's the mvp lillard is biggest threat.
Carson Wentz Says Goodbye To Philadelphia Eagles, Welcomes Fresh Start With Indianapolis Colts
"Carson. Wentz officially introduced as a colts. Now that we're day into the new league year and went hoping for world. Class makeover in indy with frank reich. Who made a big bet on wins putting his career on the line bringing the quarterback. They were an excellent match before the colts. Well built around wins. So here's what went said today about his fresh start. You know you gotta just be intentional. One by one build those relationships and like you said respect is earned not giving so. I look forward to earning a lot of guys respect and You know i i. I'm confident that that will happen. Go trike. I'll never forget when i was working out in fargo north dakota before the draft. It was an instant that we just had this connection on how we see the game and how he challenge each other and ultimately make each other better super excited about getting to work with him again. Because i have the utmost respect for the man that he is also. The coach. study is as well guys here with you for the next hour as well as schefty didn't orlowski. Marcus spears matt miller will join us for a little draft talk later but let's get back to what we just heard from. Carson wentz introduced today. Dan alaska simply is this. How does he move. Forward was carson wentz's success this year. We'll start off the field. There are more questions than answers about him right now. So how is it going to turn the bad of last year into the good this year. What did you learn when it comes to relationships. How are you going to be better at relationships. How are you going to be better at leadership. How are you going to be better at handling the adversity off the field. I mean he just talked about earning the respect of his teammates and in the locker room. Think about this. He can go into that locker right now. This is what i would do if i was him. Sit down with those new coach teammates. How did philip rivers do it. Filled came from a different team and he came down year. What did he do. Endeared himself to you guys how did he earned your respect. What's what's stuff that that clicked with you guys because the reality is you don't have to sit here and say that you've got to be somebody or not. You can still be the genuine authentic person that you are but the reality is you should be ever changing. You should be ever-growing. And i liked the fact that he said. I've got to be intentional because the truth is this when september comes. No one cares about your excuses. Excuses or explanations you've got to figure out in the next five months in the midst of unique off season again how to earn. How do prove to your teammates that you're the guy proved to your teammates that you will take over this locker room and become part of it. That's his biggest challenge and once he realizes that off the field is equally if not more important on the field. That's when he can start to rebuild his career. Yeah no doubt. I think self awareness as well like the indianapolis colts need carson wentz to come and fix them as a football team he needs to. They need him to come. Add to what they already have going already building. And there's a amount of pressure on carson winston. He never felt in philly because of the situation. And he walks into. And they are frank reich as well like frank reich has attached is job to carson wentz internally him around and making him the quarterback that that can get team to where they think they can go but india set. They have a good offense around. Obviously they make moves at tackle. They have a good running back. Good receivers a defense that at the top level of the nfl last year. so carson winston is not coming into a bad situation this is a rehab for carson wins. This is not a rehab for the indianapolis colts. He needs to be aware aware of that as well. And look i wish and hope that carson wentz turns this thing around and has a lot of success. I'm just going to sit back and see how he handles the pressure. Because now you're on a playoff team. You're around got dairies. Linda put it out there right here to win. Don't care about what you have to say don't care about your past that these that transpired pencil tired about if you're going to come play for the indianapolis colts come to win. So there's a lot on the line of course a wins but there's also a lot on the line for the indianapolis colts football team as far as where they wanna go and a hell of a lot of framed right for sticking his neck out there to say i'm the guy that can get the carson that we saw in twenty seventeen. And if he is. The indianapolis colts are absolutely a legit super bowl contender.

In franchise tag again this will happen in a procedural sense but had to cow tried to go at this with dak prescott on the franchise tag for the two thousand and twenty one season. We've talked about this a number of times. That value would have been thirty. Seven point seven million dollars so the fact that the cow is now have him onto the books. We're talking about the value that is on the books in the books. However you want to look at the books whether they're e books or physical books whatever the case may be that value is now twenty two point two million dollars now. I know that we have all said some things about the dallas cowboys but they are not complete dummies. They surely budgeted for the franchise tag value. Because let's be honest. They came about twenty four hours. We think you know. Close to having the actually placed the franchise tag and maybe carried out with that prescott. So the cowboys have room for the franchise tag at the very least so you look at that quake matt that adam schefter was kind enough to do for you. That is fifteen point. Five million dollars that the dallas cowboys suddenly have because they've got this long term deal with that prescott. This is something that we've been saying for two years now. If you do this you can. You can kick this down the road. You can prorate it you can extended you can whatever term you want to put on it. You can spread the impact of the deal out of the signing bonus of the overall guaranteed money out over the lives of the contract so it doesn't hit you all at once. That's the one killer about the franchise tag is that it is fully and completely guaranteed in franchise tag is a one year deal so the value of it last year and dak prescott was on the tag for thirty one point. Four million dollars. The two thousand twenty dallas cowboys had to absorb that value all at once and they would have had to have done it again. Here in two thousand and twenty one but because they have adjusted that they now have fifteen and a half million dollars that they were seemingly budgeting for dak prescott that now they can apply to different areas. Maybe it is a safety. Maybe it's a defensive end. Maybe it's a defensive tackle. Maybe it's you know an offensive tackle. But they want swing tackled death whatever the case may be. We know that the cowboys obviously hold the tenth overall. Pick in the draft. They could go a number of different directions there. They wanna cornerback kayla farther patrick's retain do wanna take one of the tackles and rashawn slater as all this is. This is setting up and this is an important thing. I want you to hear me here and watch me here. You cannot waste this money. If dallas cowboys the whole point and getting this done with thac prescott besides obviously establishing having the best player on your team for the foreseeable future the point in doing this is to alleviate the salary cap space now. And i don't like the term when now if you watch us often you know that but you look state of the nfc east. It is by sudha. I mean the philadelphia. Eagles are a disaster. The new york giants doping daniel jones is legitimate. The washington football team has a great team but is void of the most important position of the game and a quarterback. Maybe they'd get somebody this cycle as we all expect quarterbacks to change teams at a higher rate than usual but the case in point is at the dallas cowboys are now. We're going to see this all day on tuesday by the way and we'll talk about it of course but they're going to be overwhelming favorites to win the nfc streit and you think about the conference that they plan is really a contender in the nfc. And i mean that with all due respect to the reigning champion tampa bay buccaneers. But you've got the bucks you've got the green bay packers and then who scares you. May maybe the rams you believe in matthew stafford but the point is thinking about the afc. I mean the. Afc has the bills and the ravens and the chiefs and the titans and the steelers and the browns. I mean you could go. A number of different ways. Did the colts have carson. Wentz ends up getting his act together and so the cowboys play in the weakest division in the weaker conference and so now they have this opportunity to really kind of take their future in the here and now they have fifteen and a half million dollars that they weren't necessarily planning on having use it and if they don't use it it is all for not so i mean we are all imploring the dallas cowboys to ultimately use this salary cap space. This is a very very very luxurious gift. That they now have been afforded that they didn't previously have so shattered of course to the dallas cowboys. Let's see here let's move. I'm i wanna talk of course about the bonus the dak prescott because well. It's stupid large. I mean it's amazing. Dak prescott has now the largest signing bonus in the nfl. You look at joe flacco. Once upon a time. Got forty million. Dollars matt ryan forty six and a half. Remember if you're on the fence about this value. We've talked about this before as well. Matt ryan became the first quarterback in nfl history to average over. He had thirty but to average at least thirty million dollars per year with his new contract that he signed with the atlanta falcons in two thousand and eighteen. That was three years ago. Dak prescott signed a four six year. Deal whatever you wanna call it. That was three years ago. They matt ryan signed that he was the first quarterback to hit the thirty million dollars a year. Mark prescott just hit forty but the reality and we've been saying this forever is that there are so many deals coming around the bend. Josh allens gotta get paid. Lamar jackson's gotta get paid. Baker mayfield's got to get paid extra calories. He's going to get paid the year after that. It's going to be time for joe burrow to finally get paid and when all of those players get paid this forty million dollars a year. Mark the dak prescott got this one hundred twenty six million dollar. Total guaranteed is sixty six million dollar signing bonus all these things that are currently the top of the nfl. The most in nfl history. That's the verbiage in determining that you're hearing associated with this and it's all literally true but it's all going to get pushed down because all of these players on this list. Joe flacco matt ryan matthew stafford at fifty million signing bonus. Aaron rodgers fifty. Seven and a half russell wilson not going to be a dallas cowboy now by the way sixty five million dollars. Dak prescott topped that all of these quarterbacks in all likelihood we'll top that that's the reality of the nfl things are always moving in one direction. It is up
Bill Barnwell Breaks Down NFL Quarterback Moves
"So bill. We gave you do the math a whole month away from this podcast before our dependency bio chemically kicked back in so i just hope the last four weeks have been everything that you personally needed. Pablo got on many vacations. I turned around my life after six months of just staying watching football now. Bill barn wells weekly column on. Espn plus and he hosts the bill. Barnwell show podcast realistically. I have done something that few human beings have accomplished. I managed to get one pack of moments from nba. top shot. yeah. We share that same addiction. You are far deeper into the game than me. I realized over the weekend. I just want there to be an nfl top shot. Because i feel like that's going to happen right. It has to. i mean. Imagine the things you could do. You could send somebody that colts fake punt from years ago or or if you wanted to try some of your friends. Perhaps you could send the russell wilson interception from the nfl top shot to a certain person with the initials m used to host the show. Yeah just randomly picking in that example in those initials absolutely but bill. We dragged you back here. Speaking of a certain quarterback who threw a certain interception emotionally terrorized ours. Because this is an especially dramatic. Nfl offseason. they're all these big name. Quarterbacks who want out of these relationships that seemed from a distance at least pretty broken and russell wilson and the seahawks. I need to ask you about that. I because i know russ isn't feeling respected by head coach. Pete carroll reporting. I know that carol wants to revoke all of his cooking privileges. We've heard now. Russell wilson like storming out of meetings which is kind of funny to imagine like door very lightly slamming so this particular soap opera. What is all of it. Feel like to you much ado about nothing really. I mean i just i. Just don't buy russell wilson drama. I go back to his contract. Negotiations this is the same player in the same agent. Who wants imply that he would leave football in the middle of these negotiations entering the final year of his deal to try professional baseball. Where russell wilson once for the iraqis and the organization he hit to twenty eight in the low minors before returning to college football. It was not a realistic threat. But if that way does he want the seahawks to give him more helpful on the offensive line which has been sort of the crux of his public complaints. Yeah i do believe that. And i think that the seahawks could benefit from giving him more help. They relied on russell wilson to run his way out of sacks and free pressures from unblock players which has worked for that stretch buddies also taken a ton of hits cuss russell. Wilson plays the way he plays. He is going to take a ton of sacks regardless of how good his protection is the best way honestly pablo to get him. Hitless frequently would be to run the ball more. Which is the exact thing. Russell wilson was trying to get the seahawks do lasso last offseason. So there is something here but i very much doubt that leads to a trade. My favorite thing about this new cycle i think is that russell wilson has relayed via his wrapped. Adam schefter that he is not demanding a trade but if he were there are these four specific teams that he'd like to go to the bears. The cowboys the saints. The raiders does any of that make sense to you know not at all i mean the classic russell wilson tropez that ciara was going to pick teams him in new york in los angeles which this is the opposite that list even the teams he chose are so strange. Maybe you'd argue that. He chose teams with great offensive. Lions triumph of the seahawks. But the trade doesn't really add up the same. Stu have agreed offensive line. But they're like sixty five million dollars over the salary cap. The cowboys have a great line. Whenever everyone's healthy but they also have back prescott. that's not gonna work either the bears. I don't understand. They don't have a great line or any cap space. That one makes no sense to me on either. Level the raiders. Maybe are the most interesting and plausible candidate of the bunch with a great line and some cap space to work with. But when i think about jon. Gruden as raiders coach. He wants quarterbacks to do exactly what jon gruden wants on every single play. I don't think any if it really adds up to meaningful trae dialogue. I don't think there's going to be a conversation between the seahawks and another team about trying to make a trade for russell wilson work but this is twenty twenty one anything is possible
Eagles trade Carson Wentz to Indianapolis Colts
"You. What are your thoughts here on. The carson wentz listening to come and key overpaid underpaid. Who won the tree. There's just so many opinions out there. What's yours i mean my opinion is for carson wentz. This is best case scenario. I mean this time was up in philly. The the philadelphia fans didn't want him and he didn't want the philadelphia eagles anymore so he gets to move on to a place where he wants to go and he never made it public that he wanted to be an indianapolis colts. But this is the best place for him. Is frank reich. A guy that believes in them. You have a very good defense a good run game. Excellent offensive line some young weapons on the outside. But to me this is put up or shut up for carson. Wentz and frank right reich. You're staking your your career on this guy being what he was in two thousand and seventeen when you haven't had him and now if you're carson wentz you're in a perfect situation for yourself to resubmit yourself as one of the top tier quarterbacks in this league and if you don't do it i believe this is his last opportunity as a no brainer starter for any organization ryan. What's your reaction to the eagles having the six pick and potentially targeting a quarterback at the six spot. You know what i think. The eagles would be stupid to be messed up at quarterback again. Right you look at it last year carson. Wentz didn't play well. You drafted a guy in the second round so there were rumblings that people wanted to see him play and then he plays any outplays carson wentz and now you find yourself in this issue. Do you really want the do that. Couldn't read his press statement in his opening. Press conference to start to season the season with a quarterback controversy. And here's the other problem. Let's say. Trevor lawrence and anzac wilson go one two or go one three. And if you're picking where the philadelphia eagles are if you're not in love with the quarterback don't waste your pick. Don't put yourself in another bad position. And listen to you. Look at trae lance you look at justin feels and i know people are going to kind of compare these guys based on color but that's not it. I'm just talking about style of play. We're talking about two quarterbacks that extend plays the same way. that jalen hurts us. Two quarterbacks that can make all the throws but may read things a step through slow if you listen to some of the skull which. I don't believe about justin fields. Which are going to have quarterbacks. That are very similar at at very similar ages competing. And i don't necessarily know if that's the right thing for an organization starting over with the new coach when you have a guy that had some success in jalen hurts. Evaluate him seeing. If he's your quarterback of the future anythi is you don't waste at picking us to get better somewhere else.
Philadelphia Eagles trade QB Carson Wentz to Indianapolis Colts for two draft picks
"Story of the day. The Eagles have traded quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts and oh my goodness. It made me very happy. I was so excited. There's a lot to unpack. I want to start though by mentioning a weird thing first. In the 2016 NFL draft the number and overall pick was Jared Goff. The number two overall pick was Carson Wentz. And both have been traded away from the teams. They were drafted by 19 days apart. Just a weird quick doesn't happen very often the guy a number and overall pick a number 2 overall pick gets traded away. Especially not the quarterback position. Let alone almost in just over two weeks apart from each other. That's crazy. Pretty wild now after the trade the Eagles have a 33.8 Million Dead money. Salary cap charge for the 2021 NFL season what that means I will get into that in a minute. First of all, that's actually by the way the most ever to have dead money cap. I guess charge or penalties by an NFL team. It's so much that I actually thought that might keep the Eagles from trading cars and stuff like that might be so much of a penalty. They're not even getting rid of the guy sounds like they did. I thought it's good for everybody Carson Wentz wanted out they I think we're you know, we'll talk about Jalen hurts in a minute, but I thought it was good to get Carson out of there. It is also kind of weird and interesting I talked about Jared Goff previously very briefly the other the the record for the most amount of dead money against the salary cap was Jared Goff. The Rams amount is 22.2 million dollars off. Beat 19 days later by the Carson Wentz trade what is dead money? You may ask it's basically all the guaranteed money the Eagles still owe Carson Wentz after the trade. So even though Carson is no longer on their team. He still creates a thirty three point eight million dollar cap hit for next year. So over thirty-three million dollars off of the salary cap has taken up for Philadelphia. They cannot use that money for other players. It's weird. It's interesting. It's never that's again the most ever pretty interesting. I was surprised that you know, they still trade off a given that but in the trade the Colts got Carson Wentz so the cold they get their quarterback that the replacement Philip Rivers the replacement for Andrew Luck. I'm happy for the Colts man. They've they've Way to make it work. They lost in Turlock. They had to scramble the Mage Jacoby Brissett work for a year. They made Philip Rivers work for a year. Now. They've got what they believe is their franchise guide Carson Wentz good for them. The Eagles got a 2001 third-round pick for the upcoming NFL draft and a conditional 2022 second-round pick and here's what's really cool. The condition. Is that if Carson Wentz plays 75% off Kohls offensive snaps for next year if it stays healthy place the whole year or you know, it's good enough to be the starter all years and get benched. Then that draft pick goes from a second round pick in 2022 to a first-round picks. Oh, wow. I like about that. People are saying the Eagles got a horrible trade. They got fleeced. It's terrible. Oh my goodness. You gotta realize this is probably the best trade they could possibly find the Eagles traded away Carson Wentz a guy who has an injury history has been injured repeatedly over the years. He's coming off of a horrible season where he was so bad the dude got benched for Jalen hurts a rookie quarterback Club. So the fact that Philadelphia made a trade where they have an opportunity to get a first-round pick that's impressive to me. I think people realize that's the best they were going to get so anybody criticizing Philadelphia you did not realize how I think how little value Carson Wentz really had on the market people like nobody really wants him. I think JJ Watts getting a ton of attention Carson Wentz people are very wary. And I think it's really what's really disappointed me. Is that the Bears didn't get him. What did the Bears did the Bears not want him? I don't understand. Maybe they're trying to John Watson feel like the Bears really lost here. They still got home key who Carson Wentz has problems I think is way better than Mitchell trubisky. So debate that all you want. I don't know how you go. Like. Oh the Bears they got a great quarterback still trubisky. I like it. I think another thing people got realize is that I love the trade for Carson Wentz. He's going to a way better team he gets to play for his former offensive coordinator Frank back in 2017 the best year Carson Wentz ever had in the NFL. He was a before he got hurt. He was an MVP candidate playing under Frank Reich. He's reuniting with that guy that's going to be awesome to got a great relationship and EM the Colts have a great offensive line. They've got to get running game. They've got a great defense Carson Wentz is being put into a great situation. If he does not do well then there's no excuse. You can make he's got great great team around him good support good people. He's getting helped.

Alec Hawks had to say about his production so far in two thousand, twenty he said I never saw this coming I can't believe I had one hundred year game in the NFL and I said, no, you might be on the pro bowl ballot. He said what he said there's no way like that's the beauty of more comfortable in his own skin. But never arrogant never cocky he's kind of refreshing in that way you talked to a lot of professional athletes that are very, very tight bay focused in. That's probably why they're successful I think most personality is also reason why successful he doesn't take himself too seriously he literally like never thought he'd had one hundred yard receiving day in the NFL and he did and after the game you sit in his locker saying I can't believe that happened. And finally Zach Mo- wasn't used that much in their loss to the browns this past weekend when they had more of their tight ends available. Is there a connection here are the colts better when they get mo the ball more? Yeah and that's a question. We asked the offensive coordinator Serianni like now that Jack's back now that trae Burton's back. Are you gonNA keep getting Mo the football and he said we have to do that all. He's made too many plays to say okay now. You take a backseat Mosey going to be involved we plan from. we. WanNa get him the football. We gotta get this guy that football no matter what. "Within fifteen years. After Theodore Roosevelt's Colt revolver went missing from the old Orchard Museum at Sagamore Hill. One of the Park Rangers began receiving phone calls from a man who said he knew where the gun was. That wasn't necessarily unusual. They had gotten many similar calls before what was unusual was that the man kept calling. He wouldn't give his name but he said he knew where the gun was that he'd seen it wrapped in a sweatshirt he was able to describe its engravings. He said that he wanted it. Returned to the museum but he didn't want to get anyone in trouble. The park ranger tried to plead with him and even told and look. Just put it in a box and drop it in the mail and that'll be that but he couldn't get through to the guy eventually though. I think the man realized that he had to do something with the on and he agreed to make contact with the FBI. The man who had been calling was named Andy and he lived in Florida turns out he'd been seeing a woman and the woman who knew that Andy was a history. Buff approached him one day and said. Look. I've got this gun. I belong to Teddy Roosevelt and you know you might want to take a look at it? And essentially Andy came to realize was stolen. came to realize that actually didn't belong to his girlfriend but her ex husband and her husband essentially kept it around the house sometimes wrapped up in a sweatshirt sometimes tucked under the seat of the car so basically if that woman and her husband had not gotten divorced the gun might still be missing as very possible. Yeah the FBI approached Andy and asked him to retrieve the gun from his girlfriend again. He wanted to drag a seat a little bit and was reluctant about revealing yet. Deputy of His girlfriend but being the FBI. They were rather persuasive with him. The gun was retrieved an authenticated and in two thousand six sixteen years after it disappeared it was returned to Sagamore Hill. Eventually it took its place back in a case in the museum one. That was now much more secure as for the man who took the gun. We'll call him. Anthony T. He was charged with misdemeanor theft. Which perhaps feels like a light sentence for someone who took something that belonged to a former president. It's interesting because if you look at Heist involving valuable items rare items paintings things of that nature The punishment can be severe but with something like Roosevelt Gun. Even though there's been valuations placed on that reached into the hundreds of thousands. I know that there's any definitive way of placing a price on it and additionally the federal government doesn't really ensure these kinds of things so It seems like the prosecutors looked at Anthony T. He's situation and and realized that he was not a by any means a professional thief a career criminal and decided to Really let him off rather easily. He got a probation to pay a fine and he had to perform a fair amount of community service. Though the gun is back where it belongs. Questions still linger. No one seems to know why Anthony took the gun although investigators have posited that it was an impulsive act. Anthony T was at the museum and saw the gun saw that they're really Probably wasn't Any employees around saw that the case could be easily manipulated and it was a crime of opportunity Actually one of the investigators essentially described it as a kind of artifact shoplifting as something done on impulse and Obviously something he came to regret.

"Team. The player were so in love with Colt and so one hundred percent behind Colt after that Dallas game. Oh my God yes. Oh my God. There's because what we sort of knew at that point but some of us knew you and I knew we were talking to people. I was talking to Mike at that point. Mike it yet to come on for that. You know to our reveal with us on our show but we we were. Everybody was starting to get you know. The news certainly media members about how Griffin wasn't very. Well liked that. He wasn't very good. That gruden was already extremely frustrated with him in his first season He was already starting to see that. This guy couldn't do it couldn't run. His offense and Colt knew the playbook you know back and forth. He knew it front way sideways backwards. The whole way he was so confident. Gruden was in Cole McCoy. But Snyder said nope. You're starting Griffin. You told me you could develop Griffin. Were three and five Roberts. Ready to play in the truth is is that the following week. Robert didn't play that poorly against Minnesota. They lost the game. But then it went downhill and it was ugly. He was terrible against Tampa. Horrible Against San Francisco. I mean these were the days were Cooley would do his film breakdown and he would say guys. I got to tell you what seriously I can't even evaluate the other players on offense because the quarterbacking is so atrocious. And that's when we got the story from NFL network. I think was breer. Who The story where. Gruden was gist laying into griffin publicly. It was truly one of the worst coach. You know articles in season about one of his own players. We'd ever ready totally submarine. He decapitated a griffin and did it publicly. Which probably you know was not the right thing to do. I remember John Thompson. Coach was still doing a show. And I remember him saying. Y- you can't do that. Maybe he wasn't doing show. I forget maybe I forget maybe you and I had him on the show or something and he said you can't do that to your quarterback publicly. You know whether he feels it. And whether he's right or not you can't do it. And he just annihilated griffin embarrassed him in that story end so griffin then got benched he finally. I was able to convince. He basically told He he told Snyder in. Bruce what Shanahan had once told Snyder and Bruce and that is if I don't start the other guy I lose the locker room remember. Mike told us that at the end of twenty three. He's like I got to the point where I was losing the locker room by playing him and Gruden. It got to that point too. He was losing the locker room by by continuing to stick Griffin out. There now. Colt McCoy didn't have another moment. You know the rest of the he didn't and then he got hurt against the giants but will forever have the Colt McCoy. Game and so Off The top of your head other redskins games with names because I got a long list including a long list. That callers and guy on twitter sent me that say. Recent wreath is ten twelve years or so One that comes to mind is asleep. Engaged game yet. That was only list. Yeah trying to end of two thousand eight Zoran run swinging gate. The the the fake field goal play the giants had called time out and they had They had to line it up and he ran it again thinking that they hadn't seen it and they stopped a cold. I mean you say demise is the PURP- you like you like that. No doubt which by the way has two names for that game. Do you remember what the other one was? No code regular bread. Yeah the Code Red gave. That's right against Tampa. Yeah that was the code red haired. Yeah that's two names. Well.

"But let us. He barely played. He was here six years but he had the biggest win of any quarterback over that six year period. I would argue at Monday night win. Not In terms of what it meant her. Say like it wasn't like a game that got them in the playoffs or something like that but But in terms of euphoria expectations you know Legacy it was. It's the biggest. It's the biggest day. Gruden's tenure Boy I didn't even consider that that's actually a good one to j gruden's biggest win. I mean you could probably say it was the game to clinch the division in Philadelphia But so this morning and we'll do it right now and I wasn't planning on doing it right now but I think it's actually I go through a lot of these. And you're gonNA remember even though I didn't prepare you for this. You're going to remember These games to the Colt McCoy game the late October. Twenty fourteen game in which he came in started the game the week before many of you remember kirk cousins had already taken over in two thousand fourteen for rg three who got hurt in the opener. or hurt early in the second game against Jacksonville Kirk came in had a couple of really good games and then lost. Confidence started throwing picks and Jay. Gruden benched him. Halfway through a game in mid October against the titans at Fedex Field Colt McCoy comes in the first pass. He throws a hitch to peer zone. And he takes it seventy yards for a touchdown. The redskins ended up winning. That game and Colt McCoy starts the following Monday night at Dallas two and five Washington against five and to Dallas Tony Romo DeMarco Murray Dez Bryant Cole. Beasley cowboys are pretty good. That year and Colt McCoy leads the Redskins to a twenty two seventeen overtime win in Dallas. They were a near double digit. Underdog that night. It's another one of those games that goes and cowboy redskin. Laura is a game that you know when you least expect it because really any cowboy fan will tell you any redskin fan will tell you about the rivalry. You know what you never know like. Anything is possible in the game's over the years like you think you're better than that team in. Somehow you end up losing that game. We've seen that in that rivalry. That was one of them. You know ten point underdogs nine and a half point. Underdogs and Colt McCoy goes twenty. Five of thirty for two hundred. Ninety nine yards rushing for a touchdown and the Redskins beat the cowboys in overtime. Twenty two seventeen a game that will forever be known by Redskin fans as the Colt McCoy. Game that is a game with a name. Tommy and there are lots of others in redskins history and I ended up going through this. We took I could've taken calls for all three hours of the show this morning. The phone bank never ever wasn't completely full with people calling in with redskin games with name. So I'm going to get the others in a moment you you can start thinking about him too but I wanted to mention that this was also the first time that we realized if we say first time it was another example of the owner stepping into an area that he should never stepped into Jay Gruden was forced to start. Rg three the following week. Rg Three was back healthy. They were playing Minnesota. The following Sunday on the road the REDSKINS had gotten it to three and five. Colt McCoy had just played a wonderful game. A memorable game a memorable game and a half for that matter and I wanNA point out at that point the.

"My friend Colt McCoy is joining me to talk about his last decade. In two thousand ten he was a senior here at the University of Texas and his football team went undefeated that year in face to Alabama in the National Championship game in Pasadena. California at the Rose Bowl during that game colt was injured in the first half and never returned. His team ended up losing the biggest game of his career. So far two thousand ten he was drafted. He was also married that year in over the last decade he's been on three different. NFL teams and he and his wife. Rachel have had three children today. We look back on colts last decade. And no matter. If you're a football fan or not you you will enjoy hearing his perspective on what the last ten years has brought him and how he is manage the mountain tops and the valleys that come from playing football for a living side. Note you guys. If interstate his wife Rachel was an early guests on the happy hour. Go back and listen to her episode number seven Yes. She was a super early guest way back in the day when I just asked all my friends to come on the show with me yes. Rachel was number seven. Also this makes now the second couple where both the husband and the wife have been on the happy hour. Winter and Jonathan have both been on the happy hour. Now Rachel and Colt McCoy Super Crazy. Here is my conversation with Colt McCoy okay. Cold welcome to the special edition of the happier called your last decade. You are officially on happy hour and let me tell you cold. I don't interview Dude Dude. So this is super exciting. This is a big deal. My wife already told me she did. She feels you. She filled me in. This is a special privilege free to get to be on a happy hour with Jamie. It totally your wife has been on the happy hour so now we can say we've had both McCoy's I like it which that's not a common thing so we're doing this about we're starting to new decade it's twenty twenty now and we're looking back and saying hey what was life like in two thousand ten and that was ten years ago. Isn't it crazy. A lot has happened in your life in ten years for for sure for sure a lot. Okay so I want to go way back and I want to go back to January of two thousand ten because for anyone that's listening. That is a college alleged. Football Fan At that point in your life your plan for University of Texas it was your last year and you guys were actually playing in the national championship. So take me way back and that feels like another lifetime ago for you. I'm sure but can we talk about what it was like for you. As how old were you twenty. Three twenty two twenty two probably twenty. Yeah twenty three year old going into the biggest game at their lifetime at that point in your life. What was that like? It was crazy but at the same time. When you're in college you just don't you just don't think about what's next you're so involved in school and your football team in all your teammates are also your classmate like you've been with those same group of guys for four five years is a think what was unique about that you know now being in the NFL for the last ten years you just just think about the future? What's next you just you thought about going to class in going to play football and that that kind of kept it all in perspective but yeah going into two thousand ten in January January of two thousand ten? We made it to the National Championship game. Which I think was the goal for me personally but for all the guys and that was that was the biggest this game for for all of us we watched the two thousand five team go to the National Championship in? You're going back to the Rose Bowl where they won the national championship in two thousand five liven. Now we get to go back and try to do it again the excitement was just almost uncontrollable and it was a fun weekend in California in you know that game was definitely the kind of the climax for all of us yes earthy for me as a senior so I have a question for you on the team in two thousand five when they won the national championship. You've been ship. I was at Richard. That you're so just a redshirt. Did you get to go to the game. Yeah I was like holding clipboard. downplays the place. I had a front row seat to that so I can only imagine. Then you were what like eighteen years old then and you're looking ahead and you're seeing you know Vinca and that whole team win the National Championship. That was your I was on that prize again right. I mean I was I was eighteen. Yeah that's right I just graduated high school to maybe yeah I had I. I really had thought to myself like I am not good enough to play this game. I played football before but this is not football. This is this is professional football writing I'm small and I. I am out of place when I watched that game. But you know I I worked worked hard and got open some doors for me and you know we were back in it for years later okay. I have another question that doesn't even have to do with a decade but you just said something that made me think about this. The feelings that you feel at eighteen like watching that team play in thinking. I don't know how I got here. I'm underqualified I don't think I compete at this level. Did you experience those same commotions fast forward to you know five years later. Two thousand ten stepping into your first experience as a NFL player a little bit. Yeah I remember that feeling when I was eighteen because I remember after that game watching Vince young and our team and I think combined on that field there was like thirty something draft draft picks. Shoes you know it was. It was one of the Greatest College Football Games ever in two thousand five so I remember coming home. That offseason Vince telling me that he was going to the NFL. And I'm I'm thinking to myself well I I need to like transferred go back home and play it like Abilene Christian. I can't do what you just did. Your you're six five two hundred and thirty pounds just can run a four That's just not in my in my blood and but you know so. I had a lot of good people around me and they they push me I mentally. I was pretty strong and kept growing and again all those doors opened up. Formula was able to play for four years when you get to the NFL. It's sort of the same idea where you're playing when I remember when I first got into the NFL locker room. I was playing with guys who were thirty years old and had three kids in a fan. And I'm like these guys are. This is their job. They're putting food on the table by playing football. Oh boy I never been paid to play football in. It was still. It was still a college game to me where he just. You know you with your teammates. You just go out and play okay and hope to play good and but you quickly realize like this is way more than a game once you get to the NFL. There's politics involved of there's families involved. There's I mean it's just a it's so different it's played so differently than than it is in college in one day. Show up the guy that was in the locker right next to you could be cut and never play football again. Job Takes the stakes. Were just so so much. Higher Risk Played Bat in college. You know they might just put the next guy in. But you're not gonNA cut you know you're you're you may get benched but he's you're still on the team in the NFL. You fumble baller. Don't interception or you know you do something wrong. You get hurt you just you lose your job and you may. They never play again so that it's just a totally different sport which is so interesting to me as clearly. Just a spectator of the game obviously never played and never well but it is interesting to kind of have that mindset of these are real people on this field who have real emotions and are playing a job. I think we can forget that S. people who watch the game exactly in. Listen it's a privilege to be to have played this game for so long and I. I don't take that for granted but you're exactly right. These are these are real people with real families that still try to keep it in perspective of replaying a kid's game for a living but at the same time we all know that you're one injury away your one mistake away from getting cut in having to move on and do something else in your life and so the just every day. It's it's there's a responsibility in a in a kind of approach that's that's the way different than playing college. Which is maybe why some people just they? They're amazing in college and they just don't make it in the NFL like they. Just maybe the pressure or the stress or I don't know what the mental game that it takes is a lot harder than we ever could imagine for sure and at the same time there's just so many there's just so many factors that play into having a good career in the NFL hoosier coach. How good is the team that you get drafted to How good is the the scheme that you're running? Do guys stay healthy for that year. You know if you have a bunch of injuries. There's just so many things that factor into the NFL does a really good job of you know putting up front the faces that have played for so long. You know the Tom. Brady's the drew brees the IT. And the coaches who have kosher long time those are all the good positive stories but there's so many stories of guys who've had unbelievable college careers that when they get to the NFL. They're just they get into the wrong system. Maybe they didn't. You know fit the right system that they got into or they were injured. Whatever just not make get and it's a it's a real thing if it's a production business that's why they call it not for long addict average lifespan for players? Like a little over two hundred well. Congratulations to ten years in office. Okay I want to go back to that game In January of two thousand ten. It's the national championship. You guys I think you had an undefeated season Tell me if my research is right. I think you're you're the second most wins for quarterback in division. One still right now. Is that true a so yes okay. Good job okay. So take me back and I want to hear what you think about that. Kid that Colt McCoy that played in that game got injured and didn't get to finish the game. What do you want to say to him? Ten years later so many things This is interesting. Nobody's ever asked asked me a question with that direction.

"The guy's is not putting in the work. The guy's not getting any better the guy's a major long term project if we put him on the field. We can't operate a professional national offense. We can't evaluate other people offensively not to mention the fact. He's GonNa get himself. Hurt you know and I don't think that they would tell me that I I haven't heard that. I don't think they would say it to you. I don't think they would say to us now. It doesn't mean that they don't think he's a project but but there's gotta be something that Jay Gruden can put out there Ford Twain Haskins to get him live bullet real game experience over these last three quarter last three quarters of the season there so many things that can be done with these young quarterbacks you cut the playbook in half ghetto if reading reading defenses and getting them in the right protection schemes are so important they can go with nothing but hot routes you know they can they can they move away from max-protect and having throw hot on every throw so he's not literally reading out. Is it cover one. Is it cover to cover three there lots of things is that Jay gruden could do you know to make him more comfortable and to get him playing time the rest of the way. That's my big problem with this again again. If somebody called me up after hearing me say this on radio at your hearing me say this on the podcast from the organization and say CAF off the record look he he he can't he can't do it. I mean plus. He's not putting in the work. He's not he's not. He's not here early leaving late. He's he's not putting in all the work. He's not getting it. He can't function you know. He's a great kid but he can't function right now. He's he's. He's a year overweigh minimum unless I heard that I want him to play okay. I'll try to look. Here's here's here's here's the problem that that that that on countering you know. I get my thoughts in between the time you start talking and the time that you're dod so you better start writing them down. That's what I do when you're talking. I'm I'M GONNA have to start writing them. That's what I do when you're talking. I write them down. Look Erin. Look at all my notes notes as I'm writing down when Tom he's talking 'cause. I don't forget you. GotTa have a pattern paper a pen and paper in front of you. Trust me drone on and onto who occasionally yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay here. Elba quarterbacks that you brought up before I think this is a difference. There weren't three choices. Is there to be made. There's three choices for Jay. Gruden with the Redskins know if there was no case keenum or if there was no Cole McCoy this this would be a lot easier but but any most of the quarterbacks that you brought up like the quarterbacks are usually thrown into play. The coaches don't don't usually have three choices. There's two choices so I think that complicates everything now. The other thing is if Jay Gruden Star Art Him against the Patriots is his agenda to damage the kid or if say Gruden doesn't start him against Haskins askins against the Patriots is his agenda to hold him back. You'll hear people make both cases. You'll hear people say well if he starts them against the Patriots. He's putting them out there to get killed. He's put like like Louis. Riddick said he's putting them out there to fail. You know so I mean the thing I I don't know. I'm Jay can't win if he starts them. He's got an agenda if he doesn't start 'em he has an agenda and this is. Dr And that's and that act nothing the older kid may have nothing to do but driving that narrative but people around him do and that's what's pissing. Jay grew off aw that makes a lot of sense to me the whole you know. He's he's pissed off because you know that in that last comment you know aw there. He's going to be wrong either. Way Is is sensitive to the criticism which by the way what you're saying he probably thinks are coming from people people that are close to the kid and and probably people in in its own building yeah and maybe even people in his own building and for him. He's like look doc. I've I've been a coach forever. I've coached quarterbacks forever. I know what I'm doing. I know how to handle these situations and he's probably very frustrated and by the the way I think your point and I wrote this went down as you were going on and on I wrote down the three choices thing is. I actually think that's a really good good point. I would just say to you what I said to you. In the summer. I get rid of the third choice so it's not a temptation like this. I this was a mistake to have a third choice. Yes I mean. There's no debate. There's no argument you know. It's either one guy or the other and I mean the three. Troy is particularly one of those choices Cole McCoy. You know that piece of candy and I'd say Gouden can ignore complicates everything all right well. You're not going to be here or be back on the show until Tuesday the answer this question. Do you think Colt McCoy will be the starter Sunday. Oh yes absolutely I absolutely do and and I can't believe I'm not going to be there for it. I I've been there for it. It'll be funny because if he survives the game which by the way we'll get odds on tomorrow as to whether or not he'll actually take every snap and the game. He'll be looking for you in the press conference afterwards. Where's My dad. Where's the Tommy you know. I forget if we did this together on Tuesday. But can you imagine if he starts. Colt McCoy and McCoy puts up a two two hundred ninety yard three touchdown no pick day to score thirty one in their game late with a chance to beat the Patriots. Oh Oh yeah we talked about this and we talked about how how unbelievable I mean the most unbelievable part I would miss that I mean I you know I mean but but we both know that that's that's you know like you know not all fairytales and happy endings and this one's not gonna end the happy ending recall what unfortunate what if Sunday the nats win the Redskins win and the mystics out what is the Washington Times and Washington Post handle their front page while the Redskins are clearly inside on page two. Oh that's that's the obvious thing if they beat. I'm kidding. I'm kidding what what's one of them would be on the front page of the paper. Not just the front pages not the sports section I if the Redskins beat the Patriots there on page one what if the nats eliminate the dodgers Sunday Sunday night and they win the series then they're on pace one and then what is what does the sports section look like well well then I. I don't know that's the post for sex. I don't care about this. Why would I care about their sports. I don't know I don't know what else do you have the caps one last night. I watched. I actually watched a lot of the game. You know what I mean. I love Jobe locker. They're awesome. It's such a great impairing and it has been for so long. Just like buck and Phil were and I and I enjoy watching them and you know I don't watch a lot of regular season hockey but last night I I was watching because the Saint Louis had the banner hanging thing from their Stanley Cup. It was a year later from when the caps did it you know last year for their season opener and and I watched a lot of the game I mean the American League game jumped out real quickly with Diaz hitting that home run in the first and then hitting home run in the third and that game was over ver- early almost like Milwaukee was overly except Tampa never made a run back but I watched it and I first of all. I'm saying this to Erin and I know you don't care about the stuff tommy the NBC family of networks to such good job with hockey. It's just perfect and doc. Emrick is just so awesome to listen to call the game but anyway they they they got they got an overtime winner from Verona to win the game. That's all I have on that game ovechkin and I in watching the game it. It seemed to me that the caps dominated the blues but they went to overtime in one the game anyway a lot of people picking the caps ups Tommy to be deep into the postseason. If not a Stanley Cup winner well okay. That's it yeah I mean I mean come on. I mean what am I supposed to decide. Oh you don't play you would have put you in a breakdown their third line no out in the first round last year what everyone thought they were good to dominate. I mean we're we're we're so don't talk to me about by the way you'll love it. You'll love this and I'm GonNa find it real quickly. I got one of those tweets from one of those people that didn't like that. I said I'm not a big caps fan which I I don't know if I said it with you and Tuesday or yesterday on the podcast you send you send it with me on Tuesday. I've said it a million times. I'm that's of the four teams that's the one that I don't have a lot of passion for not a big hockey guy and I've just never been a huge caps fan like I don't sit there and live and die on everything so anyway I i. I'm looking for it and I can't find it but basically I got one of those tweets. It said I heard what you said about the caps if you're going to care so little and you're not going to root caps. I'M NOT GONNA listen to your show anymore in one of those and Gosh. I hope you reach out to that person. Yeah smooth that over. I I did I I I. I basically said I'm not going to you know it's it's it look. You don't have a rooting interest in any of the local teams there are there are other talk show host. I know one on your station. That is a forty niners fan not a Redskins Fan in. We've had that at our station before that that's not white the people I mean I think it is a benefit personally in local sports talk radio to be a fan of the teams and to really have an understanding ending of a of the teams you know and I am. I do have an understanding the root for every other team very passionately but for whatever reason I've just never been a big hockey fan. I love a playoff hockey but basically I just said look. I'M NOT GONNA fake emotional investment in a team that I don't have it for you. Know the they're good team. I love playoff off hockey. I just don't have the same feeling when they lose or win that I do for other teams and whatever he he got upset. He said Rub them the wrong way. I'm sorry about that but I that's the way I feel. I did watch the game last night. However I am amazed by Ovechkin who at thirty four years old and count it out pretty much before the Stanley Cup finals in the Stanley Cup winning season has probably played at some of his best hockey the last two seasons and it looks like you know based on last night. He may be in line for another great year. He's Altana title rate. DC Athlete Right. He's he's very pleased to being Mount Rushmore as an all-time DC athlete. Oh I think he is on Mount Rushmore. I mean he's it's not the greatest athlete in the history of the town but he's he's among he is..

I know you've probably only read the cuts will play some of them but let me just tell you you'll hear it in his voice sarcastic I'm tired frustrated with the media and the questions probably frustrated with a lot more but this was Jay Gruden on whether or not he's ready to name a starting quarterback. This was yesterday afternoon Nice I. I'm not going to name one right now as we have three actually yeah but I'm not GonNa name one right now. Let's it's Julian Week case still boot right now and obviously goal. I got to see what he can do as far as getting a little bit more reps on his in his repertoire and then and Dwayne Wayne's well repertoire love that by the way real quickly. Colt McCoy was not on the injury list yesterday so case keenum was Colt McCoy. Wasn't this was Jay Gruden into in talking about just the decision process on the starting quarterback. I have to see Jason. Things for me to make the decision and that'll come out here practice tomorrow really hopefully after tomorrow's practice. I'll have a good indication of I'm GonNa play so yeah. I my mind I have a pretty good plan jay country to believe on on the plan so a little bit of sarcasm there and he says he's he's got a plan plan and I think by by the time some of you listen to this podcast he may have already announced Colt McCoy's the starting quarterback Sunday against the Patriots. Here's a bigger macro answer as to the quarterback position in the lack of what he says is the lack of consistency since he's been here at at the quarterback position. Listen to this one. What is the most important position pro sports without a doubt. You would love to have some continuity there some consistency there. Unfortunately we have not had that luxury here a while and until we get that luxury until we start to have that Brian you'll see some different results but I feel good about all three quarterbacks. Bring something different to the table. We've got to settle on one and get them ready to go and when that guy gets his opportunity they have to take advantage of uh-huh dominate the position and never looked back. You know I wanna just mention real quick because I've got one more sound bite to play for you that which is more Dwayne Haskins in specific but he had consistency at that position from twenty-fifty and in two thousand seventeen now you you can say fairly that because of the contract you know situation that it just was too much in flux as to whether or not he was going to be the long-term guy there but he was the starter for three years and he was a good fit for J. GRUDEN's west coast offense and you know you've got a re defenses. You've got nowhere to go with the ball. All you've got to get it out. Quickly and Kirk was a good fit for Jay Gruden and by the way Jake gruden would admit that that's one thing Jay gruden would admit there may be things about Kirke didn't like like the fact that Kirk you know when Shawn left and the team made the offer they made had probably moved on and I don't think he loved kirks backbone. You know his competitiveness but he was a good fit hence the seven franchise passing records he set with Jay Gruden on a team that wasn't that good you know the terrible defensive team certainly in two thousand fifteen in two thousand sixteen and and anyway they you had a chance to have some consistency at that position that was my point didn't foot didn't Jay Gruden tell Patriot reporters on on a conference call that when he about what's his plan for quarterback that he had no plan yeah he was a little bit contradictory there that I when we when people say that they're not making that up. He said that yeah I think he did say that. I didn't listen to the coaches do a conference conference. Call with the opponents reporters you know Bella Chick did it with the Washington reporters on Tuesday man. We see complimentary of the Red Sea was funny. That must've been laughing at finding. Oh Jin grew does the did the same with the New England beat reporters yesterday. Here's the last sound bite from Gruden that I wanted to play he talks about Twain Haskins and you know how you handle the La- guy like this and that there are multiple ways of handling you know a rookie quarterback his first year I think you know different quarterbacks you know throughout the history of the NFL there's guys it are more ready to play early in their guys. That may need a year or two. It's it's it's really dependent on on the player. it should not hinder is development whether he gets thrown out there doesn't perform up to speed or whether he sits for a year and and learn the system and continues to see how to uh prepare you know it's it's not the end of the world if he doesn't play another snap if he starts every game and doesn't do very well. It's good experience for him so he can argue. Both sides of the coin join right here no matter what we do with them. We're going to be wrong so it doesn't really matter my view is is. I gotTa do what's best for him. What's best for this football team and what I think is best. They will decide that her shortly somebody to tell you what how. I responded this morning and I'm going to do the same here in the podcast in and then let you have your piece first of all. He's clearly frustrated. He's hearing the criticism. I'm the Louis Riddick thing I think blew up in a big way. He's hearing that I don't think the J. Gruden's sabotaging rrotaj Dwayne Haskins. It's not the way I feel. I don't think that he you know that he reeks of an agenda. We know that the football people did not have Dwayne Haskins skains rated at fifteen or higher but the owner did so the owner made the pick it upset the football people. There's no doubt I do not think however that Jay gruden stuck Dwayne Haskins out there on Sunday to say Dan you picked him guess what he sucks and you're going to see it right now in and put him out there without much preparation ration- or before he was ready. I don't think Jay's doing that with Dwayne Haskins. It's not what I think he's up to here because I have heard multiple couple times that unlike griffin where everybody couldn't stand griffin you know Anybo- any the adults anyway the adults in the room however few of them there were our coaching staff at Cetera got to the point where Griffin was so off putting your Jake Gruden did that interview with Albert breer and NFL DOT COM were heaped room under the a bus like no coaches ever thrown a player under the bus in two thousand fourteen. I've not heard that that's the case with Duane. In fact I've heard the opposite that he's a really good kid and everybody likes him. Jay May think that he is a long term project and that he's got a long way to go but I don't think Jay in the moment the other day with by the way Haskins being the only other quarterback that was dressed or could address the other day being the backup putting him in the game after keenum admits to long bombs to to a wide open Trey Quinn. I don't personally I view that as sabotage what I think. Jay Gruden wants right now is he. He wants one last shot with the guy over the last couple of years anyway that he thinks gives them the best chance to win. I think Tommy he was in many ways as Giddy. I'm going into that Dallas Thanksgiving Day game last year. After Alex Smith had gotten hurt four days previously against the Texans obviously it was a gruesome injury and nobody wished any of that on Alex Smith but I think Jay Gruden believed that the offense was going to take off with Colt McCoy and if you go back and watch the Dallas game it was much different offensively now he threw some back bake breaking picks in the second half but they moved the ball at a better her pace through the air than they had really with Alex Smith but again coke got injured like he always does and he didn't get to realize his dream which was Colt McCoy leading the Redskins to the playoffs eventually the Super Bowl our green not your well. I would have been so into that. I I didn't care who did it but but I think that he's at that point where he realizes his days are numbered and by the way whether to the end of the year or it's Monday or two weeks from now he knows he's done. I just think he wants a he wants. Another shot to at least be competitive. Offensively and key believes colts the guy that gives them that a chance now. I don't know that he thinks he's going to beat the Patriots but he certainly believes that Cole McCoy gives him the best chance to be a competitive offensive offensive team and he wants to see it one more time and have one more shot at it with Colt. That's what I think. He wants right now and I don't think he's not thinking about Dwayne. Haskins askins future. I just think right now he's like. How at Owen four do we even have a chance against the Patriots on offense. The only guy that gives us a chance. That's right now is cold. You know I agree with you. There's some extent I don't think there was any agenda for J. Pudding AH TWAIN Haskins in the game like you pointed out he was the backup quarterback. I mean well. I mean if if you're not gonNA put if you can't put them in a game you don't trust awesome so I mean I. I don't buy the Louis Riddick thing but I think I think again. We don't know anything about what J. thinking. I think it's possible he could feel and no matter how good kid Wayne Haskins supposedly is again there are forces at work work just like there were forces at work with Griffin that around the kids that are above the kid that are that are going to create problems for the kid did and I think Jake route and probably has some resentment and that particularly after the Louis Riddick report thinking that you know I mean this. This kid has people who are out to get me. I think I think Jay probably has some resentment when with with this with this with the Dwayne Haskins movement yeah I can see what you're saying with with the riddick stuff it sounded like it was coming from somewhere and not just Louis Riddick yeah and I think I think I think J. J. is a guy who easily resents things. I mean probably takes it very personally and easily resent it so so I think he's got some resentment. That's not necessarily against Wayne personally but against this whole notion that he he's gotTa play and I think he's only going to stick his heels in deeper since he has nothing to lose but you know against that so he's not setting him up but I think I think he thinks he's he there. He is not going to let Louis just ridic or anyone connected with Haskins and Haskins cal him what to do with that with his quarterback and I think he's GonNa dig his heels on that you you know I I wish the follow up question to his comments on Haskins where he lays out the two paths right. You know you can sit and learn earn or you can play and get the you know the direct experience and learn to you know he suggested that you know the both of those things can work. I think the follow Oh up question to that is well. Which of those two do you think best works for Dwayne. You know I mean I think we all know that they're you know you can play and get experience or or maybe you can sit in somehow learn something but which is better for Dwayne I because I do think it would be. You know you learn something from the answer. Look the bottom line in is an mentioned this a million times over the last ten years. There have been twenty four quarterbacks picked in the top half of the first round of the draft twenty of them have started their first game before week five of their rookie year the other four are Patrick Mahomes. We know that Christian Ponder Jake Locker Walker and so far dwayne Haskins unless he starts Sunday which I don't think either one of us thinks he will so the trend here has been for coaches and organizations to determine that it's better that they're young guy drafted. The top half of the first round gets experience on the job rather than experience in the classroom so I mean I know that you can perhaps grow and get better somehow but most teams now decide note. We would've put a guy out there. We want him to learn through experience and by the way with the locker and ponder perhaps the reason they didn't start by week five and barely played in their rookie seasons. Zain's is 'cause they stunk because it turned out they really couldn't play in weren't very good. neither one of them's football now and with Mahomes we know the home mahomes thing the chiefs started six no and I personally believe that if the if mahomes played his rookie year maybe the chiefs would have won a few playoff games rather than then getting eliminated in the first round but that that follow up question wasn't asked the other thing too for me. Tommy is this. I think Colt McCoy's GonNa Start. I want want join Haskins to start absent of the following hearing the following which you would never hear publicly absent of hearing Kevin..

"He's getting ready to like. He's getting ready to start so you know there is there's that I so I I do. I don't know about the sideline thing and the only reason I say that I think I I would be have a bigger reaction to it. If I hadn't been hearing that Dwayne 's a good good kid and he's coach available in that. He's easy to coach. I've heard that multiple times now from multiple people so that could be wrong because we heard the same thing about. Rg Three early in rookie year but remember he was also playing an having some level of success. you know the the game referred to a shock and awe somebody came up with that and that was his very first game go ahead. What were you going? I just don't know that that that Dan Snyder and and the Haskins Group are necessarily on the same page as Jay Bruce and that's the most important page to be on right now the Dan Snyder pizza yeah that's true but you know Dan and and the other h the father h may be saying look look if Gruden's not going to be here. We shouldn't rush it. I I want my son and you want your free. You know first round pick to you know when he starts to be starting writing for good with the guy. That's going to be his coach. You know for for years to come. I I do think that part of the patients is that they realize you you know Jay is basically done. He's dead man walking right now but Jay Bruce still hopeful of turning this into season. Look Bruce's been the buffoon out there for the last last two years talking about them. Being close I mean he looks terrible. When it comes to this and you know they they sat there and they broke each other? They broke their arms tmz patting each other on the back for the draft in the drafts in recent years. Look at some of these drafts. Realistically you know I mean second round picks like Geiss is in third round picks like Christian you know in in and second round picks geiss Anderson Craven's in in the last three you gotTa have second round picks Hicks in your organization organization starting for you and contributing a high level their drafts have been average at best and this this close thing has been delusional first of all two years ago. They were four games out not one game out. He tried to slip that passed everybody last January very well. You know me I pay attention to the standings in the playoff scenarios. They were four games out in two thousand seventeen for missing the playoffs. They weren't anywhere near close. There's another aspect to this so one of the quotes and we didn't play this and I'll just read it. Jay was asked about Daniel Jones and he. He said he's very talented. I think the thing that you gotta understand is that you know we've played. Whence we've played Prescott? We've played trubisky. All of them can move around in. That's had an affect and Jones can move around and he was talking about Jones and then somebody said you know what about you lie manning and you know your experience with him him and he's in in is that just a big advantage that the giants now have with mobility and he said the following. He said he lives manning attacked US pretty well. He attacked US pretty good last year. They were up thirty four to nothing at the half so I've always had a lot of a lot respect for Eli Tommy that giant game last year in early December was a real game changer for Jay Gruden and Bruce Alan Alan and the way they felt about Greg Rusedski in particular in one of the reasons. They wanted to replace him ski in the off season. If you recall that was right after Colt McCoy gotten hurt in the Monday night game against Philadelphia the previous Monday night they were a five hundred team and they were desperate to to remain in that playoff chase to get colt back probably for the season finale remember. There was some thought that it'd game cold could play in it in J. needed the defense to step up up. They were playing a bad team in New York. At home. They were playing a bad team in Jacksonville on the road and he needed Greg Muskie in that defense to step up and really do something to save him for a couple of weeks until he could get an actual quarterback back because that game was the Sanchez game and Josh Johnson comes in and that defense laid an egg they gave up thirty four see how he did not forget the score that halftime score against the giants not not only was it thirty four to nothing at halftime. It was forty to nothing early in the third quarter. They got their ass run over by the giants in a lifeless performance defensively defensively they weren't good on offense. Sanchez was terrible through a couple of picks setup short fields sake one Barkley ran through them like a knife through warm in butter fourteen carries a buck seventy average twelve point one yards per carry in the giants came in and embarrass them in bid for all intents and purposes pisses. If you didn't think the season was over before that game it was over then you know they tried to act like hey we can still be Jacksonville and Tennessee and have a big game against Philadelphia and they did play better the following week against Jacksonville when Blaine Gabbert Not Gabbert Cody Kessler with starting quarterback quarterback it only through like fifteen passes for fifty fifty seven yards and they were able to eke out a win against a team that was just dreadful on offense but that particular game sticks in Jay's mind and that's why he didn't forget what the halftime score was or what Eli did do him and that is one of the Games where it's like. We gotta get rid of this Dude Manetzky. I still can't believe he's the defensive coordinator really it's hard to believe but it's it's amazing. I'm surprised looking I was there Monday night. when Snyder left his box with two minutes left and made to walk down to the locker room and I mean it's it's it's hard to read faces but I'm thinking this guy is not going to survive that walk. MUSKIE'S NOT GONNA survive that walk down to the locker room but he did he did. I'm amazed survived after after the game Monday night yeah I I'm I will be the shocked if he survives Monday if they give up another thirty against the giants you know they they've given up thirty straight in three straight games right now they're on pace for the worst third down defense in NFL history or since you know the the the stats started being accounted for It's been a dreadful dreadful start and they've been poorly coached. A lot of stuff is come out here over the last couple of days about just how easy they are to figure out the bears had no problem them figuring out Landon Collins had comment that essentially said you know they knew what we were in. You know here. Here's a guy by the way who's got a big game on Sunday the the the the the amazing obsession off season obsession with his former team and all of the talking about how Oh you know these next six years playing these games he's got circled as pay-back Games. You know predicting super bowls talking about how the giants made a huge mistake stake drafting Jones instead of Haskins. He's got something to live up to on Sunday but anyway that that I I digress. They're back to GRUDEN. This is a big game for him. I don't know that he survives a loss on Sunday. I also know that last year's loss really really bothered him. It bothered bruce to remember this is the this is the team that Bruce really hates because of what he feels John John Mara did to them to force the League into a thirty six million dollar salary cap penalty back in two thousand ten. We don't think they don't think they undeserved and they blame John Mara for essentially being and will use the term of the week whistleblower on on on on the Redskins for that so so I they the two of them Jay Bruce you know they want this game Sunday. That's why I just can't imagine that Haskins Haskins is going to see the field. I not not Sunday. It'll be case on one foot or it'll be cold before it'll be Haskins is my guess I agree. I agree with that but let's say I mean if let's say case place. Okay who who will be the backup well well that big it is in in you know you bring. That's something that's interesting too because Haskins has been the backup if cases healthy healthy and Colt all the sudden is healthy and he in Colt ends up being the backup. I think that's much more of an indictment on Dwayne than and Dwayne not starting over cold. Do you know what I mean. That is essentially saying. We got two guys that are I. If somehow case can't go. I do not want Twain. I want Colt McCoy whereas if he goes with Colt as the starter because case is hurt. We'll dwayne would be the backup in in that instance and he's just saying at that point you know a Duan's coming along. He's getting the offense but if he doesn't if he supplant him as the backup and he's sitting there holding a clipboard in uncivilized because he he can't dress for the game he's inactive that is also you know an optics situation and by the way I can't imagine that that you know dwayne is going to be thrilled about that in his first game against Daniel Jones said the lead on messed up. Yes I mean this is what they're waiting for. This is this this is this is the moment they waiting for. You have other moment yeah. They're gonNA play the giants twice a year forever right. Oh so he's going to have other. He'll have other opportunities. Are we done with the quarterback because I I WANNA get yeah. I've got a couple of other things. Redskins related is what you're going to get to read scrape related. Okay okay go ahead. Are we going to talk about the Matador Josh Norman yes sure comment South Repsonse fans. Absolutely you want me to read them. I'm to everybody yes absolutely okay. Let me read you. Josh Norman said yesterday in open locker room quote. We're not really talking about you know the criticism. That's coming the way the way of the Redskins for the Oh and three start quote. We're not really concerned about those same people people. Are Those people who are going to be rooting for you when you're doing good and hate you when you're doing bad that's just who they are fair weather as they may come fairweather as they may seem. That's what we've got but we're not concerned concerned about that because guys in this locker room we understand what we put in understand what we bill the pedigree we have. We couldn't care less only thing we ask that you keep that same energy that same energy you've got because when things turn around don't come back on that ship closed quote. You know I mean this. There's th- There there are moments that happen like within every every a couple of hours that illustrate on a regular basis what's wrong with this organization yeah. This is one of them. Of course this is this. This is one of them where where if you're at the team President I mean I mean this is how this happened all last year when they were criticized the fans you gotta track this guy in your office. You gotTa say you need to shut up. Why would you think that happened? It's never happened. There's no accountability for for running their mouth your customers. There's no customer we mason foster criticizing the fan base..

"You play you win. You get paid all right. Let's get to all of this Jay. GRUDEN stuff and we're GONNA play the sound time because not everybody's heard it but Jay Gruden after practice yesterday in practice was a walk-through yesterday revealed that case keenum did not participate in the walk through true. He hurt his foot on Monday night and for those of you that are conspiracy theorists. He did hurt his foot. There was as I remember the play got chased down from behind he sort of got tackled in the back of his foot as he threw the ball and he got up and he was hobbling in the moment. I remember the plane thinking Oh he's hurting. Maybe we'll get haskins but he stayed in the game. I'm by the way just as an aside. I think he's going to play Sunday. I've heard that it's not serious at all. Yesterday was really about precautionary. It was a walk through through and that he's GonNa play on Sunday. However doesn't change the fact that Jay Gruden spoke yesterday and I think revealed several things so we're gonNA play the sound soundbites as they sort of went on chronologically the first one he's asked about whether keenum's injury happened during the game? The injury happened during the game Monday. I sure hope so yes it happened. Are you able to elaborate on that. I don't know when you got tangled up. In the pile. A couple times just came out of the game was breeze or and then I got checked out Mariah. Everything's pretty stable just got to trust I all right first of all the fact that he got an. MRI typically you don't get an MRI unless you're actually concerned about something but from what I've heard word more likely than not they think he's going to be ready to play on Sunday. Here's where it gets really interesting with Jay. The follow up question you'll here. It is about who the backup quarterback is. Who is the backup quarterback now right house? Dwayne Wade is back so depending on cases foot with dwayne. NBA Starter Sunday depending on cases foot that could be the case. Obviously case can't play the backup usually does play sure but in how cold does tomorrow will. I haven't seen them. I haven't seen him throw a ball in about a month and a half Tommy. No one asked him about Colt but now depending on how cold is tomorrow. We'll see how he is. Even though I haven't seen him throw a ball in about a month and a half. He didn't have to mention Colt. He did yeah uh Nope nope he didn't but he couldn't help themselves he he couldn't help himself. I mean look Cole. McCoy can throw okay okay. He's been throwing. I mean you know he may not have been throwing in practice official practice but he's been throwing it. Won't it's Cole McCoy if they don't don't damage Cole McCoy again this week somehow well you know like break him one more time as he recovering his. He's GonNa take the field and play. I mean we're talking about the guy who next to Jay Gruden. No sacred offense better than anybody yeah. How hard do you think it's GonNa be for him to to to to be ready to take the field play if he's healthy not hard so I I want to continue with the sound here from yesterday because Jay gets in pretty deep here in it's revealing of several things which will get to you'll have your view? I'll have mine mine but he's asked next on about whether or not McCoy can miss so much time and yet still play. How likely would it be that he can this that much time and be ready to play after he's gone through that I don't know what to see him an individual tomorrow and throw some balls and see where he's at how he feels forest pushing off considering? He's been doing a lot on the side on his own so I I don't think he'd be cleared to practice unless he felt pretty good about it but still we wanna see him. take the snap with people coming autumn. Make US some throws surfing being dense here. Is there a chance that they could return and supplant Dwayne as the backup. There is a chance that could happen. I don't know yet right. I just WANNA get through today to walk through tomorrow. We'll we'll evaluate. Everything's see where cases I assume case. It's going to be able to play. He's a tough guy. you know and then we'll deal with fs tomorrow and Friday sit in the other question would be depending on who it is. How much does that change your game? Plan your prep. How early do you need to know well? If you can't go tomorrow then obviously the other guys will get the reps which will be good so that's a win win and he's better Friday in case feels like you can go he'd go but we'll just wait and see. We'll get these other. Two guys some reps tomorrow you know we don't have a lot of time in practice and get everybody ample reps getting ready for game but we will get obviously Dwayne a lot of ups tomorrow series at does setback cycle hat to end last year and then coming back and camp kind of influence how you may want to handle them in this scenario. I think the biggest thing in how to handle Colt is how he's feeling mentally and physically if he feels like he's ready to go then. I'll have to make that decision and Ossie were Dwayne is as far as the game plan. PREP is concerned. I feel great about Duane. In case can't go will go dwayne. We'll see how it goes but like I said tomorrow or today already. We got a little ways to go before I make any crazy decisions there you go that was J. Green from yesterday again again he never had to insert Colt McCoy into the conversation once he did it became a lot about Colt McCoy for obvious reasons we all know that that he's smitten with Colt McCoy that he really does believe that if he had had McCoy last year probably for the whole year that they would have been a playoff team and that this cheer McCoy had a legitimate chance to be the starter had he been healthy going into the season. Even though they traded for case keenum remember they barely traded anything for keenum and barely oh alumini money denver picked up half of his seven million dollar salary for this year. I got a couple of thoughts about software really quickly I'm in okay and and they go as follows first of all I do think he revealed something that I've had a sense of any way for for the last couple of weeks in that is he does not. I have a lot of confidence right now. That join Haskins is ready to play a regular season game. which by the way is not an indictment of Haskins he played one season as we know last year and I'm not saying that jade believes that Haskins will never be ready. I just don't think he's believes that he's ready now and I actually believe that Bruce and Dan may be on the same page with Jay but this also goes hand in hand with this Jay. GRUDEN needs to win the game Sunday Jay Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder still believe there's a season that can be had I think they're delusional personally but they still look at this as we opened end up with a really difficult opponent Philadelphia and in Dallas and in Chicago three difficult opponents one on Monday night that is a leap defensive team. We finally get a marshmallow marshmallow defensively in the giants on Sunday and we can win that game and you did the whole path three and three last week and now it's the path to two and four and being back in the season at two and four with a win Sunday and a win in two weeks against Miami. They're obviously not going to beat the Patriots you know more likely than not things is happening the NFL that one probably isn't going to happen but there is this sense that they still have a season to go get and that three games isn't really reflective of who they are and they're going to have a big offensive day Sunday against the giants but they can't have have that day. If they start Dwayne Haskins. They can have that day if they start McCoy or keenum. I think everybody's on the same page with this. Here's the issue Tommy Amy is that for now it is all about playing the guy that gives them the best chance to win and for Jay. He's desperate for a win here because he could get fired on Monday if he doesn't win this game. I'd be shocked by the way of mosquitoes and fired on Monday if the defense has another bad day that's another story you're GonNa get to the point here though if they lose to the giants in probably happens after the giant game where your own four where it's not about giving your team the best chance to win. It's it's about developing the players that are going to be factors in twenty twenty twenty twenty one and beyond and until they get to that point Haskins isn't GonNa play unless sees the backup in somebody gets injured. That's the way I see this right now. I actually believe that Jay and Bruce are on the same page with this. I don't know about Dan but I think Jay Bruce both believed that they need to win this game Sunday and get back into the season and they both recognized that Twain's not ready to do that you know all that may be true and and and it makes sense on a lot of levels. I know we make a big the deal about how much Jay love Cole McCoy but it was Bruce Allin that brought Colt McCoy here bruce now has always been a the big Colt McCoy fan not necessarily maybe to start here in in certain situations like say wanted but bruce out I it. It's a big McCoy Fan so we we've known that for a while. Here's hairs wear that page on the same page gets a little torn gets a little afraid if they make Twain Haskins inactive on Sunday for the giants game facing Daniel Jones that will not sit well with has concern Haskins or the owner sheesh. Yes just the opposite of see that that that that would because I'm not gonNA carry quarterbacks right no one of those quarterbacks would be yeah right and active of course and and simple you know I mean look given the given the photo we saw Dwayne Haskins on the bench while case keenum's going over place with with Kevin John O'CONNELL last week he might as well be an active 'cause he hasn't seen to be paying attention to what's going on and stuff gets blown out of proportion. I do know this. He's taking scout team snaps only so he's when Jay said in in those sound bites that we we just played the part about you know. Can dwayne be ready. You know I think he's questioning whether or not dwayne he said I said join right whether or not join can be ready. He said here's the quote if if he feels like he's ready to go then I'll have to make that decision and I'll see where dwayne is as far as the game plan prep is concerned you know th that's okay but the point out of proportion part first of all book obviously there's context to a photograph that goes beyond that but there's no nope denying that it was a bad look. There's no there's no there's no blown out of proportion about that and so many images of of quarterbacks on the sidelines going over place with their offensive coordinator and that all the quarterbacks or not in the mix looking at it go those images are few and far between I think what's a little bit overblown the whole scouting thing if if case keenum had gotten hurt any three games plane haskins would have been playing quarterback by necessity Yeah I mean it's not not that unusual for I mean for I mean to make that it just be forced into playing. Even if you're not taking first team wreck nobody blow Oh my God. What do I do know that's true but if you have three quarterbacks on the roster typically it's the third guy that's running the scout team in your backups getting ready for the opponent?.

"To choose the folks booing over his love of wife and life and self and health for us cold fans are understandably mad about what could have been as if what could have been wouldn't be in his mind more than theirs on those sleepless nights ten years from now. It's an odd thing to say given the worship around the gladiator game given the football players consider themselves warriors but sometimes there is great strength. What might look like weakness. What a difficult decision. This must have been for andrew andrew luck to put down his pride in the middle of the battle and let the arrows descend upon him because it's simply hurt too much to continue to fight other really come on man. Come on those kinda politic come on uh-huh oh their turn to talk so now they're awake welcome to highly questionable. This amino has what do you like on the show. Today i mean you're the only one with the monologue i wrote something to about andrew luck yeah. You know it's kinda crazy to think the ten years ago this story can happen. I'm not talking about andrew luck walking away from the super bowl contending team and potentially hundreds of millions of dollars but rather the idea that the news will come come out in the middle of a game and we'd have the uncomfortable situation. We're stadium full of people would all know a very intimate piece of information about a person and that person would be oblivious. The fact that that private information was now very public because he wasn't a big long as many fans began voicing their opinion about retirement and so his lasting memory three of his last time on the football team was thousands of his hands booing and i'm going to pull up dan and bore you with a stern admonishment of how fans supposed to react to pointing running out their hopes of watching their team marked super bowl are dash to smithereens rather. I'm fascinated by how those people got to know because ten years ago twitter and have the wide retail today we find all of our breaking news not just because we're all on it but because all the news breakers have adopted as the main medium in which they do their job and that's what i want to focus on a lot of people were apparently upset adam schefter for doing his job. He broke a new story. That's what he does. Shefty doesn't know anything to look to the colts go spans. He did his job find out a fairly newsworthy fact and make it public to job. He does extraordinarily well but it's also also job he can only do if you supplied with that information and that supplier is who should be the object of derision not shefty because lever supply saftey knows what she does for a living who would do such a dastardly thing who would benefit from the release of music clearly put luck in uncomfortable awkward negative light right. You gotta start with the most agree party. The indianapolis colts neil guys. Were you talking. I also have something to say for the love of god on a day like today i think about his father oliver luck oliver. Deliver must be so proud of his son. I wonder what is like being proud of your son and smart feet sensitive athletic respectful asset said full head of hair feathers of having someone like that it is too late for me but for all of the father south there ratio sewn to someone when you can be proud of one someone again you look shoot miami feel good about their loss to floria own knock it off. Come on that was incompetent football on both sides of the ball miami went with a young quarterback on the road and lost the game. It could have won but only because florida's. There's quarterback was towing. An inexplicable. Interception with four minutes left in the game these teams. We're not ready to start the season..

"Road. He's not going to beat the patriots. He's probably not going to beat the bears and probably not going to beat the cowboys but do you you by the way i i would bet keenum is not traded and i just suggested here they should go with recline suggesting that if he's way behind colt well and he doesn't really grasp it quickly enough to give jay gruden the confidence that there may be a contending team same sort of <hes> thing with you know with williams. There may be a contending team that needs a backup that isn't comfortable with their own backup or has a starter you go down in preseason early in the season and ends up offering you know a shitload for for case keenum or a lot more than you'd think that's what i would do at trent williams is well. The redskins start need to start accumulating future picks by leveraging a couple of key players. They have case keenum's not a great player but he plays very important position. He's played it at a level that could make them attractive to a team. That's desperate but back to haskins moment. Do you agree with me that it seems uh-huh that a lot of people seem resigned to <hes> haskins sitting for much of if not not the entire his entire rookie season and being okay with it and that that's not a good thing. I don't think that's a good thing i don. He better play this year and there's context cole. Mccoy stays healthy and they're eight and three and they're having this incredible season. Okay well then. He's not gonna play but if they're three and eight or they're two and five. I wanna see that dude out there. I understand that you know the the reaction. I get from people on social media media and what i read is <hes> that if case keenum is the starter they're more comfortable with wayne haskins sitting but if colt mccoy is the starter there through the roof angry they they don't wanna see that i mean colt mccoy's reputation among redskins fans is so low in terms of his ability to play that. I think that they that that's some people can live with a haskins sitting behind case keenum. They can't live with him sitting behind colts. Yeah i see i know what you're saying and i. I do think that the majority of the fan base feels that way about colt not personally but just in terms has as a starter as a quarterback in that they'd rather see somebody else elsa case keenum if it's not going to be haskins but i do think that the majority of the fan base seems to be okay with the franchise being super super patient with haskins and i am not in favor of playing with these nowhere near ready to play. I think that that could be something that ends up being detrimental title detrimental to his career but what i'm saying and you still have an answer. I just want to get a a clear cut answer from you if they're two and five two and six and they still tell you that haskins isn't ready. Do you think that that would be an indication of something..

"Yet colt mccoy tommy. That's at the top of my list for when tom he gets in cole mccoy number one on the depth chart the official depth chart <hes>. Do you think he's got a chance to start at the opener well. I think he has a chance yeah. I think he has a chance. I think he's got more of a chance talking to some people know yeah. I i think look let me just get the truth in front of some of the illusion that comes out from time to time. I've liked colt mccoy for two reasons one. He had we at his post game a press conference after he led them to a win when he came out who hasn't had you with their posts conference like r._g. Three when he started to let the planes landed and indulge and you sit oh my god. This guy is just the best when i was in full time colt with that cold was so emotional and that moment so much cowboy monday nike it it was the tennessee when he came in. He ran to win for him and that post game press conference. I was so so impressed with that and got to know a little bit but that's not why. I thought that he would wind up being redskins starter at some point. I i learned how much jay gruden liked him and that was the whole thing. I knew if the head coach like this guy. There's got to be something to i think jay gruden is. It's a good judge of quarterback. He's a better judge than i am house that so my whole thing about cole mccoy was more because i knew the head coach wanted him to play liked him. A lot really loved the way he ran his offense and so we're at that point now. This is the the only thing getting in the way of cole mccoy. <hes> starting at this point are bandages and splints which are even money to be part of the conversation. I had worked with that. I agree with all that this is why i'm not jumping up and down <hes> you know celebrating aden for up to high heaven because he is so fragile he soap breakable so you know it's surprising as we're sitting here talking about it. It's first time i've thought about i i michael phillips on the radio showed. It actually really like michael. I think he really lets loose like he's. He doesn't worry about <hes> you know. Piss anybody off and you know. I think it's not you know i. It's not surprising that dwayne haskins according to everybody. That's been down there in his talk. Coach's isn't ready yet that it's coming along slowly for him..

"I think the giants are five hundred team. They've already. What were they last twelve. What were they last year. The giants can't even remember what they were five and eleven something like that that i don't know but they had very good not. They weren't very good although they got better at the end of the year if you recall that they were getting better at the five and eleven but i i wanna pull up their schedule last year because i'm pretty sure at the end of the year they were winning allergy points against well. They beat chicago and they beat. They crushed the redskins. I should've beaten philly on the road beat san francisco in tampa and then lost their last three games two of which they lost by point two two playoff teams the colts and the cowboys. I don't i think the cowboys had anything to play for and that season finale if my memory serves me correctly but if the steelers are good and the steelers are playoff if the steelers the bell and brown then i think that's a statement of i agree the giants. It's interesting that you say that the the giants you know. They got rid of a lot out of players that i still can't figure out why they got rid of those players when you think about them. I don't know why they would have gotten rid of olivier. Vernon like that guy is a beast and do they really have his replacement. You know the snacks harrison vernon <hes> landon collins letting him go. They got rid of talented players on defense that made them pretty capable defensive team the last few dave gettleman. Dave gettleman put his his his butt on the line. I mean he he. He's already being ridiculed before they even play a game. Because of some of the personnel decisions he's made in somebody guys that he's kissed off like landon collins yes well we'll inland to collins's made it very he's going after he's going after they've already promised super bowls you know he's already gotten caught up into the racket that he's over promising and under delivering and ashburn promising not one super bowl but two and dys he's he's promised that he's going to destroy his former team for being so disrespect and he's going to get the general manager and he's gonna knock the general manager of the ground in pre game warm warm ups the giants here here early in training camp have had a two big losses at wide receiver sterling shepherd shirt and then golden take suspended for a few games so i they've got saquon barkley. I think eli manning still has something left. I think i'm the only person that believes that they've upgraded their offense. I agree with you and they've got tim young talent on defense. It's not proven talent in peppers who they got back in that trade right they got your peppers back right erin yeah and then they drafted after the the <hes> the defensive linemen from clemson <hes> with their second pick you know because they picked <hes> the quarterback overall first and then dexter extra warrants so i think the giants could be better. I think eli manning is a better quarterback than most people think. I think daniel jones is going to be a better quarterback than most people think. I think the one thing i do have a question about is i. I have no idea of pat. Shurmur is a good good point have noise either yeah. Have you seen some of the early things being said about daniel jones training camp. It's training camp. I mean we we don't know what's really means but the overall there was a story i read..

"He's a great competitor. I can tell you personally some of my favorite conversations at the park doing coolie kevin or doing the show with tommy before was sitting out in our studio at redskins park in sitting down with colt mccoy. He is is a great dude and smart and likeable and you know what he's been the backup for five years going on potentially now a sixth and he's been a competent backup. He's actually been pretty good and relief. You know going back to last year. I mean that's houston game that he came in. When alex smith got hurt. He actually played pretty well in that game. He gave them a chance if you recall i think the score was to score game twenty to ten twenty two twenty one seven evans something like that. I'm gonna find that because i think it was twenty to ten <hes> when alex smith got hurt houston was winning that game seventeen seven my fault after the pick six <hes> at the end of the first half houston had a seventeen seven lead <hes> and then alex smith got hurt early in the third quarter colt colt mccoy came in and cold played well in that game colt was six of twelve fifty four yards led him to a touchdown to get the game to within seventeen fourteen and <hes> and then drove down again and they scored on an adrian peterson touchdown to take the lead in the fourth quarter colt brought him back from two scores is down to take the lead in that game <hes> and then probably got well he did he got completely screwed on the bomb dachshund at the end of the game that would have put him in field goal range down twenty three twenty one all right put him in better field goal range <hes> took that deep shot two dachshund and it was clearly p._i. I would have been first and goal. Basically you know inside the houston ten yard line or maybe inside the the the houston fifteen would have been a chip shot field goal and and they didn't call it so cole mccoy actually if you get the flag there and by the way if the rules are in place last year with the being able to challenge p._i. The redskins skains probably win that game twenty four twenty three and colt mccoy zero so he's played great relief. You know he played great relief. In twenty fourteen the first shot we got <hes> when he came in for for cousins in the tennessee game the only game that i can think of that. He started that was actually ever good. Was that one dallas game on monday night. In twenty fourteen that was the game of his career career a more times than not when he started he hasn't been very good in the team hasn't had that good of a chance to win the game. I do like him. He's zeh dead end for this franchise. I personally would think about cutting them loose or just declaring him now as the backup cup or maybe even the third stringer with no chance to start he is become almost a distraction for the head coach jay gruden jay gruden's smitten with colt mccoy and the truth is is that cole has probably affected jay's view of starters in the past like alex smith last year and maybe even kirk cousins the year before i don't want it to affect his outlook on keenum in haskins. It definitely not haskins. I've always referred to colt mccoy as a sixteen game six and ten starter. That's what he is but it's ridiculous to ever refer to him as a potential sixteen game starter that's delusional..
