There's a security guy in front of him sitting down behind home plate. There's the batter all the players their fans around this guy. And he's shouting over and over and over again. And word. Now, listen. I don't know about you, but I am willing to go on record right now and say I personally would never sit in a stadium near around in a section with anybody conducting themselves that way, and I personally would get up out of my seat and address it if no one else did, But I wouldn't need to. You know why? Because there's not a stadium in this country where a guy would be able to do that for more than once or twice before he's pummeled within an inch of his life. And his ass is thrown out of the stadium. It's 2021. Do you think anybody would be allowed to just flagrantly over and over and over, Shout the n word and go untouched, uninterrupted. It's not recent on do you know, the more I Talk to people, the more I learn of how many people Aaron Rodgers reached out to about his frustration. Um, you know, I knew that he declined to have his contract. Um You know, really galore restructured. He wanted a contract extension. Um He has been frustrated with the drafting of Jordan Love. You want your organization to commit to him in the next several years and not Jordan love and, Yeah, I mean, we'll see if the situation gets resolved or not. I mean, I've seen contentious contract negotiations seem to get this seems to get a little more personal than anything like that. Um But I would say, um, there are fixes here. The two sides just have to find it. What I found interesting was, as Alfred said, I mean, it discard it did cause a little bit of disruption in what would have been Ah, Big day for for some folks, But you know, two hours leading up to the draft when this story breaks it just through. Ah, fervor over everything, and I happen to have been in Las Vegas watching. The NFL draft from the sports book there, And when you're watching the odds actually change for a team to possibly win the Super Bowl, based on whether or not Aaron Rodgers is going to go to that team. I mean, that's that's the kind of stuff that was happening in Vegas. Yeah. I mean, that's so not my world, but I guess I better e guess I better learn about it pretty quickly. Um, yeah, I mean, that's it was. There was a lot of rumors. There was a lot of talk. If you read it online people were talking about how The Broncos were trading for Rogers and I had to try to like Figure out what I actually knew. Because you know, I knew there's no trade going on in. The Broncos did call, but there was no there was no trade talks. But you know when this short short it comes out Um, It's like there's no stopping it right, Mr Rumors and, you know, obviously came out when it did on purpose. I think that's pretty obvious. Um get, you know, Garner as much attention as possible. We'll see which way it goes. I think that You know, the statements have been made. The reports are out there. Now. It's really just on the Packers and Aaron Rodgers to see that can possibly fix it. Or if they can you know what happens on and that's really what I'm interested in. Well, we start looking down the line and we're in the May already. So we understand that things aren't the change in June because of the salary cap. Eyes there much talk that something could be done in the first week of June, with Aaron Rodgers possibly moving out of Green Bay. I mean, it's still such a huge story here in Denver in Understandable, and I think the Broncos are you know, one of the teams that would be would be very interested. I noticed they did not draft a quarterback. Um, that was interesting to me, You know, just kind of keeping options open there. I think Um But two for Aaron Rodgers to get traded. The package would have to want to trade him and I don't I don't see any chance right now that they would want to hurt him. And if you're the Packers, why would you I mean, you could figure it out. But why would you want to trade him? It's the same thing we've said about Russia was the same thing about you, Shawn Watson, right? In order to try to franchise quarterback. You have to be able to get a franchise quarterback that so how much? You know, Could the Packers get back? That would make it worth it for them. And I'm someone who could possibly replace Aaron Rodgers. I mean, that is That is difficult, so we'll see what ends up happening to me. I haven't sent anything from the Packers that they would even consider trading. Speaking of quarterbacks, you mentioned two Shall Watson and you know, we were hoping to see. Maybe there would be something happening with Shawn Watson leading up to the drafted and maybe something would actually happen during the draft. But it's actually been just the opposite. It's it's gotten a little bit quiet. Assed. Far as that is shot. Watson situation is any news on that front. No, I think it's all gone. You know, the only news that he had was texting traps the quarterback in the third round. Everybody lost a collective minds, but You know, I think that's sort of just Sort of part of it. I mean, they have uncertainty at the quarterback position, right? I mean, they they do. We don't know if you're Sean Lock is gonna play for the next year. We don't know if he's gonna be suspended. We don't know if he's gonna Face criminal criminal situation. We don't know anything. So they took a quarterback and everyone lost their minds. You know, stars. I can tell that situation has not changed and there's still teams interested, but Until detection is really seriously. You know, would trade him? Um then, you know, I don't know that there's unfortunately to be much to talk about. Except for what we already know. Well, not at the draft is over. We turn our attention to the To the NFL schedule, and we know that's gonna be happening here over the next 10 days or so any hints about the first game of the year. For this upcoming season. What? What kind of you know what kind of things need to happen between now and then for that to actually take place. What is the legal? I need to see to lighten up on all the protocols that these teams had to go through this last season. Vaccinations, You know, I mean, I would not be surprised You can get a nap. Um, after your two weeks into fully vaccination after two weeks in deploy, vaccinated, the shows you are Believe back. Um I would expect that to be a huge part of what we do next fall. Whether you have to be full of action, it is going into stadiums. Whether you need to show a negative covert test. Um I would think that's going to be part of it. If they were gonna move knowing are not, Oh, the Cardinals can take on money and they were willing to put the question was exactly how much were they willing to and when that number got up to 50 million or so dollars being sent from the Rockies? To the Cardinals to cover the 199 million remaining on Owen are not those contract. All the sudden the deal came together a lot more quickly. Now I want to caution. This is not done at this point. There's still all sorts of complications. Whether it's his opt out clause and whether he may get another one of those, whether it's major league baseball approving that amounts of cash going from one club to another. In whether it's on auto, approving the trade and waving his no trade clause, But when it's all said and done, this is expected to be finalized, and it's gonna be a big big deal in the National League Central. It took only one year to get to this point with Colorado because Wendell and are not committed to that eight year $260 million contract. He did so believing That the Rockies were going to build around him when they did not go out and spend after a disappointing 2019 season that frustrated him. He felt like he'd been lied to. And at that point when he's getting into a beef with general manager Jeff Brightest with the Colorado Rockies, all the sudden it felt like it was a fate accompli that he was going to leave at some point, and yet because there's an opt out after the 2021 season in his contract, it's a complication because he's $199 million for the next six years. That's thought to be a complication as well. But they were able to bridge those gaps with the Cardinals and ultimately come together on a deal that doesn't return a ton of talent. Colorado, but really when it all came down to it, this was about getting somebody who did not want to be there out of there and trying to save money in the process. 61 days until the MLB season starts on Lee eight until the Super Bowl. And I hope it's a victory that weaken in the year and say that we have a non opportunity for growth for this franchise. And it's also a sad day because we have to say goodbye to Ah, great friend, a great friend. I am more than happy to say that Floyd Little was my friend and Boy was one of most generous, caring, loving men. That I have ever met in my life. I want to tell you a couple stories about Floyd before we get to this Raiders Broncos matchup. Um When I was a player with the Denver Broncos. It was a normal a normal thing to see guys like Billy Thompson, Odell Berry, Barney Chambers, Floyd Little, Tom Jackson, Paul Smith Haven Moses Louis, Right? Randy Gradishar, Karl Mecklenburg. And the great guys like Simon Fletcher make routine visits back over to the facility. I got a chance to know so many of those guys because They were so giving with their time and I had a special relationship with Mr Floyd Little because he took that time to sit down and talk to young man about not only football but life and what's next in life and what to look forward to and in that time period. I got a chance to really visit with him and to know his heart and to know his spirit and to know why all the guys loved which, when Floyd little showed up. Every time he showed up. There was a group of guys who couldn't wait to see the franchise, Mr Floyd Little, and I gotta tell you one on one cold and rainy night in Miami. Mr Floyd, Little in his last opportunity to go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame did something that I don't think that I'm brave enough to do. What he did was he gathered his family and they make the trek down to Miami. We were in Fort Lauderdale at the convention center. And they were announcing the whole of fame class that night. And I was nervous because it was Floyd Little's last opportunity to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But with the passion and conviction and his steadfast belief that good things will happen. He took his family down. And I was in that room. Yes, I was. I was in that room that night, Floyd Little name was announced. Go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the family just went crazy. It was nuts. It was nuts. It was one of the best moments of my life. It was one of the best moments of my life, and I shared it with the little family and it was fantastic. It made me feel more connected to this franchise than anything that has ever happened to me because You know, while you're trying to build a championship experience You need to know. What it looks like. And that's partly why we all get up in arms about the Broncos, and they're losing seasons right now because we want to get back to that championship. Moment well without championship style players, it's impossible. I want to say that again without championship style players, it's impossible. And those guys who have that kind of That kind of tenacity that that that kind of frenetic energy that brings passion to the game. Those guys need to stick around your franchise all the time. Floyd Little Stuck around this franchise all the time. Every time we saw his face, we were reminded what greatness looks like the first time that ring of fame went up here in Denver, Colorado, thanks to Mr Pat Bowlen. Whose energy is undeniable, and his passion is undeniable. Floyd little name when into that stadium at mile high. I was glad to be a part of that state of every time. I looked up before the game right before the national anthem. I look up and I see these names around the stadium and I just got a chance to Really get to know this franchise and this group of men who have played their hearts out for you. And you have certainly cheered and roared for them. But I gotta tell you, Floyd, Little was more than just a football player. He was my role model. Being a black guy. Plan in his league and not having many black guys as a role model growing up in my hometown of Houston. I needed guys like Billy Thompson. I needed guys like Barney Chavis. I needed guys like Floyd. To lose somebody who has been so revered in in the National Football League. He's an NFL Hall of Famer. Two time All American for Syracuse and Better yet a great man who was an incredible ambassador for the game of football. He really was, He really was. And yet, you know, one of the things that makes this story about Floyd Little's induction into the Hall of Fame. So noteworthy is that so join in his entire career, he only had one winning season. He was told in a rock, you know, and he got a chance to play here in Denver with the greatest fans in the world. And he had one winning season. That's how highly People thought of him in his efforts on the football field, But I'm telling you, he was a better man off of it. It is.
